Mahomes at ADP 100 is overpriced relative to Kansas City's offensive decline. The Chiefs ranked 21st and 15th in points over the last two years and 20th and 16th in yards; Mahomes offset passing leakage by running proactively last year, but ACL and LCL tears in Week 15 make scrambling yards unlikely to repeat. Pass-catchers are weak: Rashee Rice is solid underneath but not a downfield weapon, Travis Kelce is entering his age-37 season, Xavier Worthy has struggled to make consistent impact, and Kenneth Walker III may become the steadiest offensive drumbeat. Scott Pianowski argues you can find QB value at almost any draft price point, making Mahomes at Pick 100-105 indefensible.

Patrick Mahomes was a dominant fantasy force in 2025 driven by scrambling and rushing production (5.2 rushing PPG) rather than passing, which remained nearly identical to his other Nagy seasons. With Eric Bieniemy returning as offensive coordinator—the coach who had Mahomes finish as QB1 in his first five starting seasons—there is hope the explosive offense could return despite the ACL tear, giving the Chiefs a shot at another top-five fantasy season.

While Mahomes finished as the fourth highest scoring fantasy QB on a per-game basis in 2025, that bounce-back came after down seasons where he fell to QB11 in 2024 and QB12 in 2023. His 2025 rebound was thanks to career highs on the ground with 422 rushing yards and five touchdowns. It's unlikely he'll repeat those rushing stats in the first season after a torn ACL suffered in Week 15, as other quarterbacks returning from ACL tears have been hesitant to use their legs the following year. With less rushing attempts and so many good quarterbacks to choose from, Mahomes is a tough sell inside the top 100 picks.

Mahomes is overrated at QB12 consensus/QB14 ADP; while he remains elite in real football, his last top-10 fantasy finish was 2023 and top-five was 2022. Weapons are questionable—Travis Kelce is aging, Tyreek Hill is gone—and he's returning from a torn ACL with reduced mobility. He's openly acknowledged wanting to run less (good for health, bad for fantasy) and the Chiefs plan to lean more on Kenneth Walker III in the backfield. Ben Johnson. That won't take him as QB1 unless in a very deep league.
