Aaron Jones (RB, MIN) has ADP of 121 (RB40) and is a bargain who can outproduce his fantasy football ADP despite limited ceiling. In 2025, a down year, he tied for RB33 in half-PPR points per game (8.7) among RBs with 8+ games played, though he missed five games and posted career-low efficiency marks (4.2 yards per carry, 4.9 yards per target, 4.7 yards per touch). However, he's only one year removed from finishing as RB20 in half-PPR points per game (12.7) in 2024, his first Vikings season, when he played all 17 games. At 31 years old, Jones is the most appealing fantasy selection from Minnesota's backfield in half-PPR and PPR formats, with strong passing-game involvement: 45.7% route participation rate (tied 14th), 12.1% target share (8th), 3.1 targets per game (tied 17th), and 28 receptions (33rd). He also handled 42.9% of Minnesota's rush attempts inside the 5-yard line. JJ Zachariason notes Jones doesn't have an exciting ceiling and his best fantasy football days are in his rearview mirror, but he's a bargain who can outproduce his fantasy football ADP. Jones is a viable early-season RB2 or FLEX option and an ideal target as RB2 on Zero RB or Hero RB rosters.
Up 1.1 in ADP; best comparable is Christian McCaffrey. Lead back in a committee and primary receiving back; excellent receiver and efficient runner. With Kyler Murray as an upgrade, the offensive environment takes a huge step forward. Projects as a weekly RB2 with flex floor. Concerns include age potential cliff and soft tissue injury history, but solid value at ADP with little concern about productivity when healthy.

Aaron Jones is part of a revamped Vikings offense with Kyler Murray at the helm, but he's not perceived as an exciting player at this stage of his career. Jones ranked 37th in success rate among ballcarriers with at least 50 attempts after Week 10 last year, compared to Jordan Mason's 9th-place ranking. He averaged fewer yards per carry and per game than Mason and earned fewer red zone snaps. Mobile QBs like Murray have historically boosted their offense's RB rush yards before contact; the Vikings ranked 29th, 13th, 8th, and most recently 17th in this metric under Kevin O'Connell, suggesting a potential leap into the top 10 could benefit both backs. Kyler Murray plans to be relatively agnostic with both Minnesota backs since they are very cheap.

Fell off a cliff last year on 150 touches with extremely poor underlying metrics. Showed signs of slowing down last season, and the Vikings will be careful to limit his touches this season. Liam Cohen ranked Jordan Mason ahead of Aaron Jones before the Collar report and is now completely doubling down on that ranking. Cohen views Aaron Jones as one of his fades and felt good after writing him up. He believes the team knows Jones has hit his cliff, evidenced by Jones returning on a much smaller contract than previously.

Last year was his lowest yards per carry season (career low by 0.3 yards). Even when the Vikings offense is really good, fantasy points at running back don't materialize; there's not much ceiling. In 2024 when Vikings scored 9th most points in NFL, Aaron Jones ranked as RB20 in points per game. He and Jordan Mason combined for only 8 attempts inside the 5-yard line and 15 carries inside the 10-yard line (which would rank 30th among all individual ball carriers), indicating insufficient touchdown opportunities.
