The #Colts starting wide receiver group to kick off training camp without Alec Pierce: Josh Downs Ashton Dulin Laquon Treadwell Obviously not having your WR1 makes things seem worse, but it goes to show just how bleak the room will look if Pierce/Downs goes down at any point.
In just a day or two, we already have some answers to 8 out of 17 of these pressing training camp questions I had! 1. Jordyn Tyson passes his conditioning test and is good to go for camp 2. Makai Lemon is present today at training camp after missing part of OTAs and minicamp with a hamstring injury 3. Jonathon Brooks has looked great, fully healthy, and explosive in all facets so far at camp 4. Tucker Kraft confirmed he is playing Week 1 against the Vikings 5. The QB battle in Atlanta is even...
-Tucker Kraft on the PUP -Alec Pierce on the PUP -Entire Falcons QB room is hurt, dog -Kyler Murray allegedly in a real QB battle -Jahmyr Gibbs and Bijan Robinson holding in -Drake Maye can't complete a pass to AJ Brown -Rhamondre left practice early -Chris Brazzell carted off
• Malik Nabers not expected to open camp on PUP • Alvin Kamara gets reconstructed deal • Alec Pierce not practicing @adamlevitan and @evansilva cover all the ranking updates from training camp news ⬇️

GM Ballard: Alec Pierce (ankle) is "a week or two away" from returning.
Summarizing the Alec Pierce (ankle) situation: 1. Been managing discomfort in left ankle since 2024 2. Admitted he was rarely playing at 100% 3. Got a PRP injection at end of 2025 season 4. PRP injection didn't help 5. Colts sign Pierce to a 4-year, $114M deal with $84M guaranteed 6. Undergoes surgery on left ankle 7. On active/PUP to open camp, goal is to be ready Wk 1 8. Healthy Colts WRs are Josh Downs, Ashton Dulin, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Deion Burks 9. Colts beat writers have speculated...
Alec Pierce. Week or so away with ankle rehab. [Retweeted](
Alec Pierce is close and a week or two away from a return to practice Will be interesting to see if they’re able to implement a bit of a role change from a deep threat to more Less offseason time to work on improving and practicing other routes leads me to think it’s less likely this season (even though they need it) Unsure if they’ll need to manage his reps Josh Downs and Tyler Warren are my targets for 2026
I’m still assuming Alec Pierce is available for Week 1, and I am buying the dip. Priced so far behind his finish last year and they removed Michael Pittman. I’ll take my chances that he’s healthy after a September ramp up.
Colts WR Alec Pierce is “a week or two away” from a return to practice, per GM Chris Ballard.
For players coming off injury I think it’s important to consider a few factors: 1) How debilitating is their injury to practicing? 2) What do they need to improve at and does it require practice reps? 3) How nuanced/different is the skill they need to pick up? For Pierce I believe he has a lot of work to do to become a good underneath and intermediate route runner and he’s had 0 time so far to focus on that this offseason, which is why I consider it unlikely for him to succeed (at least early...
From what I’ve heard they’d use Keenan in 3WR sets or 3rd downs more than anything else It would obvious take targets from every pass catcher when he’s on the field I see a huge impact to Alec Pierce if people think he was going to expand his route tree bc he would be the only deep threat in 3WR sets (Dulin can function as that player, but Keenan cannot)
I wonder if Josh Downs knows how much I love and believe in him this year My glorious king's 0.25 TPRR through the first three seasons of his career ranks 8th-highest among all WRs since the 2021 rookie class (Ryan Heath Stat) But did you also know that Downs commanded that number while lining up in 3WR+ sets on 97.1% of his routes? (Kyle Menton Stat) By far the highest percentage among the WRs in this sample (per @FantasyPtsData) Now, imagine him in 2WR sets with Alec Pierce hobbled and hurt
Alec Pierce is starting out on Training Camp PUP This is one to watch - could leak into the season Will keep you posted
Alec Pierce (ankle) placed on PUP list.
Colts WR Alec Pierce has been placed on the PUP list.
Colts placed WR Alec Pierce on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list. [Retweeted](
Alec Pierce’s injury timeline is still a bit confusing. You’d hope the Colts had a clear recovery plan before extension. Pierce said in June he *hoped* to return late in training camp. I still think Week 1 is in play.
I already cannot stand 95% of the training camp posts we're seeing daily (useless, overly hyperbolic nonsense) So, here are 17 things you should actually pay attention to during Training Camp: 1. When Malik Nabers starts participating with full pads and how he looks doing so 2. Jordy Tyson being a full participant with zero limitations throughout camp 3. Confirmation that Makai Lemon is 100% ready to go, and his hamstring won't be an issue 4. Josh Downs' usage and performance when lining up o...
Reminder that NFI is for non-related football injuries or college injuries. Teams can expect to not pay the base salary but majority of cases do pay. It’s more procedural than anything. Players can be placed on NFI or PUP and be removed at any point, it does not guarantee that they will miss 4 weeks of the season. A player must start training camp on PUP to be eligible to be placed on R/PUP during the season (miss weeks 1-4 at a minimum). -Players I expect to start on A/PUP or NFI and move to...
