A.J. Brown

PositiveRole3:00

Brown is identified as one of the premier wide receivers for the Eagles and is included as a lineup lock from the source's playbook for Week 1 against the Commanders.

Insight page

Ashton Jeanty

NegativeProjection26:22

Ashton Jeanty is ranked in the top ten running backs for Week 1 fantasy football, listed fifth in the source's tier of backs ranked six through ten.

Insight page

Breece Hall

NegativeProjection26:34

Breece Hall is ranked in the top 15 running backs for Week 1 fantasy football, listed in the source's tier of backs ranked 12 through 15.

Insight page

Brock Purdy

PositiveValue22:43

Brock Purdy is available late in drafts and is cited as a viable late-round quarterback option, supporting the source's philosophy that premium draft picks should not be used on quarterbacks when quality options like Purdy are available in later rounds.

Insight page

Caleb Williams

PositiveValue22:43

Caleb Williams is available late in drafts and is cited as a viable late-round quarterback option, supporting the source's philosophy that premium draft picks should not be used on quarterbacks when quality options like Williams are available in later rounds.

Insight page

Cam Akers

NegativeProjection26:43

Cam Akers is ranked in the source's top 20 running backs for Week 1 fantasy football.

Insight page

Chase Brown

NegativeProjection26:22

Chase Brown is ranked in the top ten running backs for Week 1 fantasy football, listed third in the source's tier of backs ranked six through ten.

Insight page

Chris Olave

PositiveProjection41:01

Perennially underrated at WR; last year was top five in targets and receptions, seventh in receiving yards, sixth in receiving touchdowns. Ranked as a top-10 WR in a great spot against Detroit Lions, who are dealing with secondary issues including missing two starting safeties and their number two cornerback.

Insight page
PositiveMatchup41:42

Playing the Detroit Lions, who have one of the highest implied totals of the week, meaning the Lions are expected to score a lot and will need to throw frequently. This high-scoring environment fits well for all Saints receivers, including Olave.

Insight page

Chris Rodriguez

NegativeRole54:06

Listed as co-starter in the Jaguars backfield with Vishaal Toon. If LeQuint Allen is out, it opens up extra targets for Rodriguez. However, the source is not starting Rodriguez this week until seeing if he's involved in the passing game, as he was quietly more involved than realized in Jacksonville's passing game last season.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

NegativeRole20:04

Christian McCaffrey is used as a positional comparison point in the discussion about whether fantasy managers should bench first-round draft picks for better matchups. The source notes that unlike running backs, where you might start a later-round pick over a first-rounder in a given week, quarterbacks are typically played throughout the season regardless of matchup.

Insight page
NegativeMatchup21:17

Christian McCaffrey's value is largely matchup-proof; expectations may be slightly lowered when he faces elite defenses like the Seahawks, but matchup strength does not significantly impact his weekly ranking or usage the way it does for quarterbacks.

Insight page
NegativeProjection26:17

Christian McCaffrey is ranked in the top five running backs for Week 1 fantasy football, listed second in the source's tier of elite backs.

Insight page

Dak Prescott

NegativeProjection13:00

Dak Prescott is ranked QB9 in the consensus rankings for Week 1.

Insight page

Daniel Jones

NegativeProjection45:51

Was QB7 before getting hurt last season; coming off a major knee injury that could limit his upside. The Giants' offense was pumping out 3.5 touchdowns per game last year, which is unsustainable year-to-year. Additionally, there's massive depth at QB, making him less of a priority despite his previous production.

Insight page
PositiveValue46:33

In Superflex leagues, Jones has been one of the source's favorite QB2 targets and is viewed as a value this year. However, when looking at top 10-12 starting QB options week-to-week, he's not there right now due to massive depth at the position.

Insight page

De'Von Achane

NegativeProjection26:17

Devon Achane is ranked in the top five running backs for Week 1 fantasy football, listed third in the source's tier of elite backs.

Insight page

Derrick Henry

NegativeProjection26:22

Derrick Henry is ranked in the top ten running backs for Week 1 fantasy football, listed fourth in the source's tier of backs ranked six through ten.

Insight page

Drake Maye

NegativeProjection11:00

Drake May is not recommended as a Week 1 start against the Seahawks. The source indicates Mike Clay and Field Yates are in the 'sit him' category, while Daniel Dopp was initially in the 'start Drake May' category. However, Dopp ultimately decided to sit May in his personal lineup, choosing to start Patrick Mahomes instead on Monday night. This suggests May is not a preferred Week 1 play despite being the Patriots' starting quarterback.

Insight page
NegativeProjection19:03

Drake May is ranked outside the top 15 quarterbacks by the panelists (ranked 14th), reflecting a philosophical difference in how the source evaluates top-five quarterbacks with rushing upside versus other analysts. The source discusses whether rushing quarterbacks warrant top-five rankings despite their cheat-code ability.

Insight page
NegativeProjection22:25

Drake May's Week 1 ranking is in line with the source's offseason philosophy on the quarterback position: patience is advised, and there is no need to draft May early when quality options like Trevor Lawrence, Justin Herbert, Brock Purdy, Caleb Williams, and Matthew Stafford are available late.

Insight page
PositiveProjection47:12

Ranked as a top starting QB option in Superflex leagues for week one, preferred over Matthew Stafford and Tyler Shuck.

Insight page

George Holani

NegativeRole8:00

Helani is a depth piece in the Seahawks backfield and not expected to receive significant early-season volume. The source projects him for only 6 carries and 1-2 targets in Week 1, well behind Jadarian Price. The source explicitly states Helani is 'not a veteran start guy' and should not receive a veteran start on the first drive, indicating limited role expectations despite being a good player.

Insight page

Isaiah Likely

PositiveRole49:29

One of the higher climbing players in rankings during preseason; ranked as a top-8 TE. The Giants' cut of Darius Slayton suggests confidence in Likely, who will be on the field when the team is throwing. He got a good contract this offseason and is a sneaky back-end TE1 option.

Insight page

Ja'Marr Chase

NegativeProjection26:17

Ja'Marr Chase is ranked in the top five running backs for Week 1 fantasy football, listed first in the source's tier of elite backs.

Insight page

Jadarian Price

PositiveRole7:00

Price is viewed as the RB1 of the Seahawks backfield and projected as a low-end RB2 even against the Patriots' strong run defense. The source projects 16 carries and 2 targets for Price in Week 1, with the expectation that he will be the clear feature back. George Helani is projected for only 6 carries and 1-2 targets, with Emmanuel Wilson receiving minimal touches. The Seahawks finished second in carries and fifth in rushing touchdowns last season, providing significant volume opportunity. Price is ranked RB20 in projections and should push past 15 touches.

Insight page

Jalen Hurts

PositiveMatchup15:00

Hurts is QB1 in the source's Week 1 projections and QB2 in consensus rankings against the Commanders. In 9 career full games against Washington, Hurts averages 23.7 fantasy points per game and has at least 18 points in 7 consecutive full games. Last year, 12 quarterbacks hit 18 points against the Commanders. The source is 'unimpressed' with Washington's defensive personnel despite their new coaching staff, and expects Hurts to have a huge start to the season. The Eagles have a light regular season schedule, suggesting this strong performance could continue beyond Week 1.

Insight page
PositiveMatchup17:59

Jalen Hurts is highlighted as a strong Week 1 start against the Commanders due to the favorable matchup; the source notes he was a mid-range QB1 last year despite an atrocious offensive situation, and with an improved offensive line and better scheme this year, he should perform well. The source expresses confidence in starting him Week 1 specifically because of the matchup advantage.

Insight page

James Cook

NegativeMatchup26:27

James Cook is ranked 11th among running backs for Week 1 but faces a tough matchup against the Houston Texans, which is part of why he's outside the top ten in the source's rankings.

Insight page
NegativeMatchup26:29

Tough matchup against the Houston Texans; ranked outside the top 10 running backs partly due to this opponent.

Insight page

Javonte Williams

PositiveMatchup20:48

Javante Williams is used as an example of a later-drafted running back (RB14) who might be started over a higher-drafted back like Ken Walker (RB9) in a given week due to favorable matchup. The source uses this as an analogy for how quarterback matchups might influence start decisions.

Insight page
PositiveMatchup20:55

Javante Williams (RB14) is ranked higher than Ken Walker (RB9) for Week 1 and may be started over Walker despite Walker's higher overall ranking, illustrating how matchup strength can elevate a lower-ranked back's weekly value.

Insight page

Jayden Daniels

NegativeProjection13:00

Jaden Daniels is ranked QB7 in the consensus rankings for Week 1.

Insight page
NegativeMatchup19:03

Jaden Daniels faces a super tough matchup in Week 1 against the Eagles' elite defense, which features a strong front four and secondary. The source ranks him QB5 (though another panelist has him at QB7), and notes the difficulty of the matchup as a concern for Week 1 performance.

Insight page
NegativeProjection22:02

Jaden Daniels was initially ranked QB5 but downgraded to QB10 for Week 1 due to a difficult matchup; the source respects the matchup difficulty and adjusted expectations accordingly, though acknowledges Daniels remains a top-10 quarterback option.

Insight page
NegativeProjection24:00

Jaden Daniels fell off a little last year and is coming back off an injury facing a tough defense in Week 1; the source suggests defaulting to other top-five quarterback options with leg mobility upside over Daniels in this specific matchup, noting that Matthew Stafford likely would have outscored him even if Daniels had stayed healthy all last year.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

NegativeProjection25:25

Jeremiah Love has never finished in the top 50 at running back and is ranked in the source's top 20 for Week 1, which the source uses as a cautionary example of a player some analysts like despite a lack of historical production.

Insight page

Joe Burrow

NegativeProjection13:00

Joe Burrow rounds out the top-5 quarterbacks in the consensus rankings for Week 1.

Insight page

Jonathan Taylor

NegativeProjection26:17

Jonathan Taylor is ranked in the top five running backs for Week 1 fantasy football, listed fourth in the source's tier of elite backs.

Insight page

Josh Allen

NegativeProjection13:00

Josh Allen is ranked QB3 in the consensus rankings for Week 1, behind Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts.

Insight page
PositiveProjection22:55

Josh Allen is identified as the only 'elite elite' quarterback tier, distinct from the 'very, very excellent' tier that includes other top-10 options; this suggests Allen's value is less matchup-dependent and more consistently premium than other quarterbacks.

Insight page

Justin Fields

NegativeProjection19:18

Justin Fields is ranked QB10 by one panelist, placing him outside the top-five rushing quarterbacks despite his mobility upside. The source discusses whether such mid-tier quarterback rankings make sense given the positional depth and matchup-dependent nature of the position.

Insight page

Justin Herbert

PositiveMatchup13:30

Herbert is a lineup lock and QB2 in the source's Week 1 rankings against the Cardinals. The Chargers have the highest implied team total in Vegas at 29 points this week. The Cardinals were bottom-10 in passing yards allowed per game last season and allowed only five teams more passing touchdowns than any other team last season. Herbert's matchup is described as 'really nice' for the first week of the season.

Insight page
PositiveValue22:43

Justin Herbert is available late in drafts and is cited as a viable late-round quarterback option, supporting the source's philosophy that premium draft picks should not be used on quarterbacks when quality options like Herbert are available in later rounds.

Insight page
PositiveProjection25:16

Justin Herbert has finished in the top 10 for the last four years and some analysts at the source like him as a quarterback option.

Insight page

Justin Jefferson

NegativeProjection43:49

Ranked as WR6 this week; the key to his production is Kyler Murray's performance. If Jefferson only receives five or six targets in week one, it would be a major red flag and cause overreaction, as he should be getting significantly more volume from Murray.

Insight page
PositiveRole44:05

Concerns about Kyler Murray's target distribution; Murray previously said it's not his job to get Marvin Harrison the football, which is problematic. With Jefferson, if Murray isn't getting him the ball, Murray is the problem, not Jefferson. The expectation is that Jefferson must receive adequate volume.

Insight page

Juwan Johnson

PositiveMatchup51:30

Likes the matchup against the Lions; with no Jordan Tyson and a condensed target tree, Johnson is a viable week-one option if there are concerns with Kittle or Tucker Krabs. He was playing every snap for the Saints early in the season last year and will be on the field a lot.

Insight page

Kenneth Walker III

NegativeMatchup26:34

Kenneth Walker III is ranked in the top 15 running backs for Week 1 but faces a tough matchup against Denver, which is part of why he's ranked lower in the source's Week 1 projections.

Insight page
NegativeMatchup27:18

Ranked lower in the source's top 20 running backs due to a really tough matchup against Denver; can still be a good RB2 despite the difficult opponent.

Insight page

Kyren Williams

NegativeProjection26:43

Kyren Williams is ranked in the source's top 20 running backs for Week 1 fantasy football.

Insight page

Lamar Jackson

NegativeProjection13:00

Lamar Jackson is ranked QB1 in the consensus rankings for Week 1, ahead of Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, and Joe Burrow.

Insight page

Mark Andrews

NegativeProjection50:06

Was 24th in fantasy points per game last year, down from being top-five every year previously. New coaching staff, healthy Lamar Jackson, and Isaiah Likely's departure create uncertainty. However, he's still a force near the goal line, finishing top-10 in end-zone targets for seven consecutive seasons. Playing the Colts, who struggled against TEs last year and have a shaky linebacker situation. Ranked as a fringe top-10 TE option with bounce-back potential.

Insight page

Marvin Harrison Jr.

PositiveProjection53:28

Just outside the top-30 rankings but plays the Chargers in week one. Was very good with Jacoby Brissett in four games last year, better than realized. Still fine to start him in week one.

Insight page

Matthew Stafford

NegativeProjection13:00

Matthew Stafford is ranked QB8 in the consensus rankings for Week 1.

Insight page
PositiveValue22:43

Matthew Stafford is available late in drafts and is cited as a viable late-round quarterback option; if drafted early, Stafford could be started over an early-round pick like Jaden Daniels in Week 1 due to favorable matchup, supporting the source's philosophy that premium draft picks should not be used on quarterbacks.

Insight page
PositiveProjection25:00

Matthew Stafford should put up some huge passing numbers in Week 1, though the source cautions he is unlikely to finish as QB3 again; Stafford was outside the top 16 all three of the last three years before his recent strong season, with two of those years outside the top 25, suggesting regression is likely despite a strong Week 1 matchup.

Insight page
NegativeProjection47:12

In a Superflex start-two scenario, Stafford is ranked below Drake Maye and Tyler Shuck. The source is out on Stafford being the same player he was last year, suggesting a decline in production or performance.

Insight page

Najee Harris

NegativeRole28:20

The source notes uncertainty about when Najee Harris will first take the field for the Giants, observing that it's unclear whether it will be the second quarter or second play; there's a legitimate feeling that Harris can help the Giants right away, but the snap distribution between him and Scadaboo remains to be seen.

Insight page

Rashee Rice

NegativeRole21:48

Rashee Rice may receive some pass-catching role or opportunity in Week 1, though the source indicates this will be discussed in more detail later in the episode.

Insight page
PositiveProjection36:11

Averaged 9.8 targets per game when healthy last season; if he maintains that volume for a full healthy season for the first time in his career, he will be at least a mid-range WR1. Over the past 10 games starting in 2024, he accumulated 107 targets, suggesting top-five-ish target potential this season if fully healthy and the Chiefs don't dramatically shift their offensive approach.

Insight page
PositiveRole36:51

The Chiefs have been top seven in pass attempts for six consecutive seasons; Mahomes probably isn't going to run as much this year and will be throwing the ball a lot. Rice is his top target, and he's first in yards after the catch over the last three seasons, delivering elite caliber play.

Insight page
NegativeMatchup37:02

Rice was in the slot 44% of the time last season; Pat Surtain does not travel inside except for very rare occurrences and has not covered Rice at all in his career. Surtain will likely play his side on the perimeter, so Rice should avoid heavy coverage from Denver's top corner.

Insight page

Rhamondre Stevenson

PositiveRole3:00

With Trevion Henderson sidelined (hasn't practiced since August 24th), Stevenson is projected as the clear feature back for the Patriots in Week 1 and beyond. The source projects him at RB16 with a top-5 to top-8 role in the Patriots offense, expecting 70-plus percent of snaps and potentially pushing 80 percent. Against the Seahawks' elite run defense (ranked #1 interior DL, allowed 3.5 yards per carry last season), Stevenson should still see 13-15 fantasy points due to volume, making him a top-20 play despite the tough matchup.

Insight page
NegativeProjection26:43

Rhamondre Stevenson is ranked in the source's top 20 running backs for Week 1 fantasy football.

Insight page

Sam LaPorta

PositiveInjury48:48

Has been dealing with back and hip injuries but has been looking better in practice and feeling a lot better. No injury concerns heading into week one; ranked as a top-10 TE despite multiple mouths to feed in the Lions offense.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeProjection26:22

Saquon Barkley is ranked in the top ten running backs for Week 1 fantasy football, listed first in the source's tier of backs ranked six through ten.

Insight page

Travis Etienne

NegativeProjection26:34

Travis Etienne is ranked in the top 15 running backs for Week 1 fantasy football, listed in the source's tier of backs ranked 12 through 15.

Insight page

TreVeyon Henderson

NegativeInjury5:54

Henderson hasn't practiced since August 24th and did not practice the day before the Patriots-Seahawks game. He traveled with the team to Seattle, which may indicate a return to practice is relatively close, but he is not expected to play in Week 1. The Patriots have a mini bye after this game, so a Week 2 return is possible. The source notes Henderson was significantly overdrafted during draft season (often costing a fifth-round pick), and his absence makes Ramondre Stevenson the clear feature back.

Insight page

Trevor Lawrence

NegativeProjection13:00

Trevor Lawrence is ranked QB10 in the consensus rankings for Week 1.

Insight page
PositiveValue22:36

Trevor Lawrence is available late in drafts (round 11) and represents a viable alternative to early-round quarterback picks like Drake May; the source advocates for patience at the position and willingness to wait on Lawrence rather than using a premium pick on May.

0:00Hey, let's chat about choosing the best tool for the job.
0:03When the pressure's on, you find out what's really built for the moment.
0:07That's true late in the fourth quarter of a big game, and it's true when there's work to get done on a deadline.
0:13On the job site, conditions change, the clock keeps moving, and the tools you reach for have to be ready to handle it again and again.
0:20That's why DeWalt tests its tools under real-world conditions that push even the best tools to their limit.
0:25Only then does a tool earn the DeWalt badge.
0:27So when the pressure is high and the work needs to get done, DeWalt tools are built to perform, built to last, and built to finish strong.
0:35DeWalt. Guaranteed tough. Available at the Home Depot. How doers get more done.
0:38What up friends? Welcome into Fantasy Focus Football. That's right.
0:41Alongside Mike Clay and Field Yates, my name is Daniel Dopp.
0:44Super pumped about today. I don't get a middle name.
0:47Didn't I say Minister Yates? Oh, you did. Okay, sorry.
0:50I blacked out for a second. Sorry about that.
0:52Yeah. I was distracted because we have some TV viewing for this evening.
0:56Yes, we do. Wednesday Night Football. You know what doesn't roll off the tongue quite the same?
1:00Wednesday Night Football. Wednesday Night Football. Yeah, it sounded like an email, and it was like something about the game, and it was WNF.
1:07That feels weird. TNF or MNF. It was weird.
1:10It was weird, but we'll take it. Yes, we will.
1:12Yes, we will. All right, quick shout out before we dive into that.
1:16Our buddy Eric Moody hanging out in chat as he always does.
1:19Follow him on social media at Eric and Moody.
1:22And by the way, when you're watching Fantasy Focus Countdown on Sunday morning, getting ready for the rest of week one, have up that second screen experience.
1:29You can watch Eric Moody on Fantasy Focus Sunday kickoff presented by Lowe's live on the NFL and ESPN YouTube page while
1:35you are watching us on Fantasy Focus Countdown. You can get your lineups answered during the commercial breaks.
1:40Moody in there doing all the stuff, shaking babies, kissing people, all the good things.
1:44Shaking babies? You're not supposed to do that. Shaking babies?
1:47Yeah, kissing people, shaking babies. No, kissing hands. Shaking hands.
1:50Shaking hands, kissing babies. There you go. He did a bad job.
1:53I'm wondering, it's presented by Lowe's, so does Eric have to like, is he on camera like building something?
1:58He has to wear a construction hat. Yes. Yeah, he has to do some sort of construction while answering questions.
2:04I feel like that should be a thing. Like he's a workshop, workshopping lineups, and he's workshopping a birdhouse.
2:09I took my kids to Lowe's this weekend, and the stuff that they wanted to buy was the most ridiculous and hilarious collection of stuff.
2:16Like my middle child wanted to buy about 100 rat traps.
2:19Uh-huh. Just for fun? We need these, Dad. Thankfully, there are no rats in the house.
2:23But we don't need them. You'll know when you need them.
2:26Then she was like, okay, however, have you considered this laundry detergent?
2:30Because we've got 150 ounces worth of laundry detergent available at a very discounted rate.
2:34Hey, those stores are awesome. I was going to say the same thing.
2:37Yeah, I'm into that too. I went there. I went there because I love this place.
2:42Yeah. Oh, I love that. Hey, we're diving into our week one rankings as well, plus a really fun ranking segment at the end of the show.
2:49I promise you want to stick around for this one.
2:52But first and foremost, guys, normally we do our previews at the end of the show.
2:56I don't want to wait. We've been waiting for football for forever.
2:59Let's dive into our Wednesday night football preview. Patriots and the Seahawks.
3:03That was a sick graphic. Yeah, it was. We got lineup locks for this one straight from Mike Clay's playbook.
3:08Potentially out today on the .com. We'll find out.
3:11Hey, guys, it's week one. I decided to file early.
3:14So maybe it'll be live today. All right, then I'm going to hand this over to you.
3:18Who is a lineup lock from your playbook, Mike Clay?
3:21Well, it's on the screen right there, Daniel. Well, not everyone is watching on YouTube.
3:25Oh, yeah, you're right. Okay, Jackson Smith and Jigba and A.J.
3:28Brown, of course, the premier wide receivers for both teams.
3:31And we had a late addition. Yeah, we did.
3:33Andre Stevenson. If you drafted Stevenson, yeah, it was a middle-round pick.
3:37You might be pretty good at running back, but you're getting him in your lineup because he's a top 20 play with no Trevion Henderson.
3:43And we saw a little bit of that down the stretch last season.
3:47And Stevenson delivered in those positions where he was the clear feature back, had a terrific end to the regular season and
3:53obviously was very busy during the playoffs. So as far as I'm concerned, I don't know if you guys agree, I'm at RB16.
3:59I think he should be locked in. Yeah, when you go look at the consensus rank right now, because this news dropped
4:05yesterday, just to kind of peel the curtain back a little bit, all of us rankers obviously have to go in there
4:12and make our adjustments of our ranks. A lot going on.
4:15I don't think everybody has removed Ramondre from their week one, excuse me, Trevion from their week one rankings.
4:20So Ramondre at RB19 is actually lower than where he'll end up once everybody has updated their rankings.
4:25Correct. We all agree he's inside the top 20 and not that Ramondre Stevenson is some top five to eight talent at
4:31the position, but there's at least a chance for week one or until Trevion Henderson returns, he has a top five to
4:37eight role in this Patriots offense, right? Because who is behind him right now in the Patriots depth chart?
4:42I'll tell you. Yeah. Is it Corey Kiner or Kiner?
4:45Kiner. Is it Kiner? I think it's Corey Kiner who the Patriots acquired in a trade from the Cardinals probably what, 10 days ago?
4:51Not the kind of player that you typically expect to play a huge role for a team.
4:56So I'm sure they'll elevate a running back from the practice squad tonight.
5:00Hassan Haskins, a likely candidate familiarity with Mike Vrabel.
5:02Um, but Ramondre should be in line for, you would think what 70 plus percent of the snaps things go as planned.
5:08Yeah, no doubt. Maybe even pushes 80 and that's why he's ranked so high because this is actually a very tough matchup for sure.
5:15So this is a volume play, not an efficiency play.
5:17Again, we don't want to spend too much time on last year's stats, but when a defense hasn't changed much or has
5:24very similar personnel or the same strengths, for example, I have the Seahawks interior defensive line ranked number one in the NFL and in my unit grade article.
5:31So this is basically the same guys as last year.
5:34They allowed three and a half yards per carry last season to running backs.
5:38That was lowest in the NFL. The fifth fewest fantasy points, actually only two running backs got to 17 and a half
5:44fantasy points against them the whole season, including the playoffs.
5:47So they dominated that position. But again, Stevenson should be in the 13 to 15 point range because of the volume to your point.
5:53So, uh, lots to like there. Before we talk about the Seahawks running backs, just an update on Travion Henderson.
5:59Didn't practice yesterday. He hasn't practiced since August 24th.
6:01If you're looking for signs of hope for Travion Henderson, he actually traveled with the team to Seattle, which maybe is an
6:07indication that a return to practice is relatively close.
6:10Patriots also get a mini buy after this game tonight.
6:12So maybe we'll see Travion Henderson in week two, but until we see him back, it should be the Ramondre Stevens show.
6:18Maybe it's a different conversation, but like you think about all of draft season now that it's mostly behind us, I'd say
6:2599% of drafts are over, maybe probably higher than that.
6:27The most overdraft or overrated player in drafts. I mean, Henderson often costed you a fifth round pick.
6:32Even this year, you're saying? Yeah. This year. I'm saying now that we look back at draft season, like who were the
6:38players that you're like, man, I'm glad I didn't touch that guy.
6:42He was just clearly overvalued throughout draft season. He's probably going to be a headliner on that list.
6:47We'll see. It'd be really interesting. He's so talented, obviously.
6:49He's so explosive, but he doesn't necessarily need 20 touches to pay off.
6:53Just I think Ramondre Stevenson, until further notice, is a thing for the Patriots.
6:57But let's talk Seahawks running backs, which I think are a little bit more interesting as far as a decision goes.
7:02Absolutely. I mean, we're all in, I think, unless you guys tell me otherwise because you feel differently.
7:07Like Jadarian Price, we all view as the RB1 of this squad.
7:11I think we all look at him as a low-end RB2, even against this Patriots defense.
7:15But Mike, I am curious, and Field, if you have anything to weigh in here too, how do you think this split
7:21with George Helani is going to work out with this guy that we're super excited about seeing as a first-rounder?
7:27Before you answer, Mike, can I sort of throw, not a caveat, but just like a mindset thing for me in week one?
7:33We're doing our best to project, and we're going to give you analysis left, right, and center.
7:38Some of week one, my sort of preview points are not what I think will happen, but just like, what are the
7:44observations I look to take away from this? Correct.
7:46And tonight, like, I am playing Jadarian Price as if he is going to be the clear feature back for Seattle, but
7:52I will be curious how involved as a receiver he is.
7:55He's going to see plenty of rushing volume tonight.
7:58I'd be very surprised if it happens otherwise. Is this more J.K.
8:01Dobbins last year early in the season with Denver, which you remember was getting minimal, and I mean minimal receiving work, but
8:07was getting 16 to 20 carries a game, which is not a nothing role, or is this closer to, I don't know, DeAndre Swift?
8:14We get 15-ish carries, maybe you get three to five targets, and that's good enough for an RB2 play.
8:19So it's funny you say that, because the projection that I have for Price is 16 carries and two targets in this game.
8:25So very much in the range you just said.
8:28Remember, this is a backfield, just focusing on the Seattle running backs last year that finished second in carries and fifth in rushing touchdowns.
8:34So there's a lot of volume to be had in that backfield.
8:38Game script obviously was a factor. Yes, they leaned toward the run, but they were ahead a lot.
8:43And not to get too far ahead of ourselves, but I think they'll be ahead in this game and leading throughout this
8:49game, and it's going to give Price a lot of opportunity.
8:52For perspective, I have Helani at six carries and one or two targets in this game as well, and then Emmanuel Wilson, just a handful of touches.
8:59So yeah, I pretty clearly think they give a long look to Jadarian Price.
9:03Maybe George Helani gets the veteran start on the first drive.
9:06I don't know what they're going to do. You can't be doing this.
9:09George Helani, good player, like him as a depth piece.
9:12He's not a veteran start guy. We're not going far enough to give him a veteran start.
9:17I'm just saying. Yeah. I'm not questioning you. I'm saying if they do that tonight, we're going to have issues.
9:22I don't question Mike McDonald on much. I think it's going to be a lot like, you know, you think Kareem Hunt, his first year with the Chiefs.
9:30Remember that was like that first game of the year?
9:33And I know he had a fumble, but he was pretty much like, we're going to give him a shot.
9:38And he played well in the fumble and he took the job.
9:42And I think that's what we're going to get out of Jadarian Price here.
9:45We'll see later in the season when Charbonnet comes back, what it looks like.
9:49But for now, I agree. Price should be the guy here.
9:52He is 20th in the projections. That's where he comes out in this matchup.
9:56Again, this is a good defense. We expect New England's run defense to be very good.
10:01They were good last season when they were healthy.
10:03So it's not a walk in the park. There's some uncertainty with the role here.
10:07But at the end of the day, he should push past 15 touches.
10:11Yep. Every game day starts before the lights go up, before the snap, before the roar.
10:15Something's already at work. Cleaner, quieter energy production running where the game lives.

11:30of this game, Drake May, start him or sit him?
11:33Mike and I were on the sit him category or in the sit him category.
11:37Daniel, you were in the start Drake May category.
11:39Money where my mouth is. I mentioned I only have one team with Drake May.
11:43I also have Patrick Mahomes on that roster. I have Patrick Mahomes, who is going to start, big surprise there, on Monday night.
11:50In my lineup, and I will be sitting Drake May tonight.
11:53All right. Love that. Who are you guys taking in this matchup?
11:56Seahawks 25, Patriots 19. Oof. Not only am I happy that Mike's score picks are back, but I'm happy that Mike's score
12:02picks involving incredibly unusual numbers for each team are back.
12:05Sorry, I had a mistake. 25.1. Okay. Okay, there we go.
12:08I'm taking the Seahawks. I don't know the score.
12:10I am also nervously now taking the Seahawks. The worst.
12:13This is not great. Yeah, I'm not sure I feel good about that.
12:17We saw the Super Bowl. Listen, I am from Massachusetts.
12:19You guys know that. Group of Patriots fan. I have tons of Patriots fans, friends.
12:24I picked the Patriots to lose in the Super Bowl last year, and I got absolutely roasted by everybody I grew up with.
12:30And then at the end of the game, people were so pissed off, understandably, that they weren't like, I guess you got it right.
12:36Oh, that doesn't work. To this day, I'm in a group thread of guys who are also all from Massachusetts.
12:42And we had our draft last night, and they're still mad at me for picking the Seahawks.
12:47Wow. They're like pissed. They think I'm like Benedict Arnold over here.
12:50Yes. I'm like, really? That's why I feel right now like my sleeper team this year in the NFL, perhaps even to
12:56go to the Super Bowl, is the Cowboys. And I have to be quiet about how much I bring that up.
13:02Yeah, don't love that. Don't love that. Can't be objective all the time.
13:05All right, let's dive into some objective week one rankings, though, my friends.
13:09Yep. Week one is very interesting looking at the rankings.
13:12There's a lot of conversation. We had some of it yesterday.
13:15We're going to start with the quarterback consensus rankings here.
13:17Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen, Justin Herbert at four, and Joe Burrow rounds out the top five, six through ten.
13:23Jackson Dart, Jaden Daniels, Matthew Stafford, Dak Prescott, and Trevor Lawrence.
13:26Field Minister Yates. What stands out to you about this?
13:29We're going to each pick a quarterback from this top, and I'm going to start with, no surprise here, Justin Herbert.
13:35I want to bring up a stat or a metric.
13:37I know Mike is tracking this and has it somewhere either in the playbook or just somewhere within Mike's work, but implied team total.
13:44Yep. So when you look at the over-under for a game, which in this game I believe is 48.5, and then you also have a line, right?
13:51The Cardinals are nine-and-a-half point underdogs. So you can use the over-under plus the line to ascertain what Vegas projects the score
13:58would be if it goes as planned. The Chargers have the highest implied team total in Vegas at DraftKings at 29 points this week.
14:04We think they're going to be scoring a lot on Sunday afternoon.
14:07The Cardinals were bottom ten in passing yards allowed per game last season.
14:11Only five teams allowed more passing touchdowns than the Cardinals last season.
14:14In some ways, it feels like some of the numbers from the Cardinals last year are actually skewed because they were getting
14:20roasted so hard so early that teams were just bleeding the clock on the ground in the second half of games.
14:26But yes, I have Justin Herbert as a lineup lock.
14:29Quarterback two for me, one spot ahead of Klay at three, and Daniel, you are at four.
14:34So it sounds like we're all kind of in on Herbo in week one.
14:37You had me at Cardinals defense, but also I'm in on the Chargers offense and all the things that we expected to be, too.
14:44It's a really nice match for the first week of the season having these two come up.
14:49You had me at when you called me Klay for I think the first time ever.
14:53Sorry. No, it's okay. I just, I was startled.
14:56I was like, who's Klay? I don't know. It is kind of disarming, right?
14:59It is. When I'm in a, it's when Daniel's friends call him Dan.
15:03Oh, yeah. Weird. In the group chat that we're in.
15:06Yeah, you can tell. You can tell when you met me in my life based on what you call me for sure.
15:12What about you, Michael? Mine is the QB1 for me.
15:14You're my Klay NFL, right? That's right. I am my Klay NFL.
15:18I'm all video game. Gamer tags. You got a couple of dubs last night in War.
15:22Oh, is that right? Okay. Congrats. Congrats to me.
15:25I'm really good at that. I don't know what you're talking about.
15:28My Jalen hurts. He's my QB1 easily in the projections this week.
15:31He's QB2 in our consensus rankings. You know, down year fantasy-wise last year because the rushing was down, but he did throw a career-high 25 touchdowns last year.
15:39So, I mean, remember, he could still deliver both ways.
15:42Hopefully, the rushing will bounce back a little bit.
15:44So, just from an overall perspective, I think he's probably more of a mid-range QB1 this season.
15:49However, the matchup here looks great. And Jalen hurts resume against the Commanders, which, again, new season, new team.
15:54I'm still unimpressed with what Washington's putting down defensively, personnel-wise.
15:57I don't think they're going to be much better defensively.
16:00Good defensive coach, but personnel-wise, I'm worried about it.
16:02So, I still think these numbers stand. In nine career full games against the Commanders, Jalen hurts is averaging 23.7 fantasy points per game.
16:09That is a huge number. He has at least 18 points against him in seven consecutive games.
16:13Seven consecutive full games. Not ones where he left after a few snaps or rested, whatever it might be.
16:19Last year, 12 quarterbacks hit 18 points against the Commanders.
16:21And again, I just don't think they're very good defensively.
16:24This sets up for a huge start to Jalen hurts season.
16:27They have a very light regular season schedule, so this might go on for a while.
16:31It gets tricky come playoff time, but for now, he's in a good spot.
16:35Love him this week. Obviously, he should be locked in the lineup.
16:39Top four for all of us is Jalen hurts.
16:41I'm a little, I am at the caboose here at quarterback four.
16:44And the only reason why, the reason why I'm not, you know, fully 100% in on Jalen hurts, because I agree with
16:50you, Washington's defense will be better, but there was a lot of room to get better.
16:55So, better is not dominant. I still want to see what it looks like in this new offense.
17:00Yeah, that's totally fair. This is Jalen hurts. The Eagles have been a very Jalen hurts centric offense for the first, whatever
17:06it is, six or seven years of his career.
17:08He's had a, he's had a new coordinator. What almost every year, if not literally every year.
17:13Yeah. Think about how, like just as an example of how the Eagles have always done, like basically tailored their offense around what they do.
17:20Go look at every year. The Kellen Moore has been the play caller for his team and where that team ranks in pace of play.
17:27Like how fast do they move? How many plays do they run?
17:30And it's like first, second, fifth, third, first, second, 20th.
17:33And that was the year in which he was the play caller for Jalen hurts.
17:37And it was like, Jalen is a more sort of methodical operator at the line of scrimmage.
17:42Then Kellen Moore is a play caller. They're now basically saying, this is the Sean Mannion system.
17:46We're going to do what Sean Mannion wants to do.
17:49It's a timing, rhythm, precision passing game. We'll see how good of a fit that is.
17:53But the Eagles and definitely Jalen himself are saying all the right things about the confidence they seem to have in this.
17:59And I will, I didn't go further. Yeah. And I'll say this.
18:03They, he was a mid range QB one last year.
18:05It was a down year for sure, but he was still a mid at times back in QB one.
18:11And their offense was pretty atrocious for huge chunks of last year.
18:14So it's hard to imagine. It's not at least a little better this year.
18:18And I know AJ Brown's not there, but they added, you know, they'll spread it around a little bit more.
18:23So I think from that perspective, it's fine. I still believe in the offensive line.
18:27And I think schematically it has to be better than where it was last year, which was atrocious.
18:32And again, even in an atrocious situation, he was still a QB one.
18:36So, and not to mention, he's just lit up the commander.
18:39So lots, lots to light care. I feel confident in at least for week one.
18:43I want him to light up the commanders because that means that my quarterback, I want to talk about Jaden Daniels has
18:49a lot of garbage time to be able to do.
18:52By the way, I wonder, and I kind of want to talk about this a little bit, and I don't want to
18:58make it be too long, but we talked about this a little bit yesterday with Drake May.
19:03If I have like a philosophical difference, maybe a quarterback with the way I looked at the top five versus the way that you guys have.
19:10But right now, Jaden Daniels taking on the Eagles, super tough front four.
19:13I mean, that secondary is legit. Super tough front 11.
19:16Everything. Yeah. The whole defense. I mean, it's a really good defense.
19:19Jaden Daniels, I still have as QB five. Mike, you've got him as QB seven.
19:24Fields, you've got him at QB 10. Yeah. It kind of feels like even having Jaden Daniels at QB 10, and we
19:30talked about Drake May yesterday, who you guys have outside your top 15, 14.
19:3314 is my number. Same with Mike. In the past, when we look at the quarterback spot, it feels like we have
19:39talked about the top five of these quarterbacks as like guys that have cheat code ability because of their rushing upside.
19:45Yeah. But even in this first week, there's been a number of these rushing quarterbacks.
19:49Jalen Hurts now with Sandy because the matchup is so good.
19:52But you guys have kind of moved farther down these rankings and said, I might consider a quarterback that I drafted after
19:58these guys rather than a top five quarterback. And we would never, obviously, you wouldn't do that at the running back position.
20:04You wouldn't be like, I drafted CMC, but guess what?
20:07I'm going to play Ken Walker III this week instead.
20:10You wouldn't do that at wide receiver. And we definitely wouldn't do that at tight end.
20:14So at the quarterback spot, because we're just seeing more two quarterback builds, which is part of the offseason.
20:20When I drafted a guy and used first round capital on someone, I expect him to be my guy.
20:25And I'm going to likely live or die by them throughout the season.
20:28But are we at a point where you feel like there's just been a shift in the game that there is a
20:34potential where we would be benching a top five quarterback for someone that you may be drafted in the 12th or 15th round?
20:41I want to make a quick observation, which is that it's different because you're only starting 10 or 12 quarterbacks, running backs a lot deeper.
20:48For instance, I think if you were to make the comparison of running back, it would be like you drafted Ken Walker ahead of Javante Williams.
20:55Like Walker was RB, say, nine and for Javante, RB, 14.
20:58Yep. And you might start Javante over Ken Walker this week.
21:01Absolutely. So that's kind of, I think that's really the differentiator between the positions.
21:05We don't do that at tight end. And in extreme cases, it does apply to other spots.
21:09But quarterback is so much more matchup influence than any other position week in and week out.
21:14Right? Like Christian McCaffrey, it doesn't matter who they play.
21:17Like we will lower expectations for CMC when he plays the Seahawks perhaps a little bit.
21:21Yep. Or if, you know, when, I don't know, have you done the, I know the shadow report is kind of baked into the playbook now.
21:28Rashi Rice, we think he might get some pass or tan.
21:31We'll talk about him. I think he's never, yeah, he's never been, yeah, we'll get to that in a little bit.
21:37But anyways, okay, so I'll leave it there. Still a tough defense.
21:40Um, yes, the point is like, you know, you, you might see like a slight downgrade in the player's value when, when
21:46they have a top, top defense against them. But quarterback is the one where it matters so much.
21:51So I think yesterday, because the internet did not appreciate the way that I knew, gave my argument yesterday.
21:57I think part of this for me is the idea that, and Jaden Daniels, I'm looking at him.
22:02I have him as QB5. I get how difficult this matchup is.
22:05I get all these things. That's respect by you.
22:07This is one of these. I did not respect him.
22:10I had him at QB5. Then I moved him down to QB10.
22:13You have to call him QB Jaden. And I'm allowed to call him QB5.
22:17Oh, you're right. Okay. Because you moved him down for what it's worth.
22:21He actually was never a QB5. Oh, so you put him at five as a bit.
22:25I get it. But here's the thing. I, I feel like the top five quarterbacks, when I look at them, I used
22:31a premium draft pick on those guys, which means I'm probably not going to replace them with somebody unless I like there
22:37is life or death on the line for my fantasy squad.
22:40And I think maybe we just think about it a little bit differently from that perspective.
22:45I would say that I think that my ranking of Jaden Daniels and Drake May in week one is in line with
22:51a lot of how we've spoken about the quarterback position throughout the offseason, which is totally fine to be patient.
22:56There's so many good options. You don't necessarily need to draft Drake May in round five when you get and get Trevor Lawrence in round 11.
23:03And so if I'm already advocating for the possibility of taking a Lawrence or a Herbert or a Purdy or a Caleb
23:09Williams or a Stafford late, then I'm also okay with, if I did draft one of those quarterbacks early, sitting him for
23:15a week because there is just such a narrow margin between, not the elite elite, because that's Josh Allen, but the very,
23:22very excellent quarterbacks and the just probably really good quarterbacks.
23:24Yeah. We all have them top 10. So we're all ranking him as a starter.
23:28But yeah, if you took Matthew Stafford late in your draft after you took Jaden Daniels early on, yeah, you might go Stafford this week.
23:35He is, I mean, I don't think that's ridiculous.
23:38That little defense is so, so nasty. To me, and this is the, again, I think more emotionally, that sounds like what
23:44happens when I get cute trying to set my lineup.
23:47I disagree. Oh. Weekly game. Yeah. Yeah. It's okay to get cute though.
23:50Sometimes. Or it's okay to just play it simple off.
23:53There is something to be said for getting off the tee, to borrow a golf metaphor in the first week of the fantasy football season, right?
24:00Is that like, would you be more pissed if Jaden Daniels is on your bench and he scores 22 versus Philly?
24:06Or if you play Trevor Lawrence, I'm sorry. Or if you play Jaden Daniels and you sit Trevor Lawrence and Jaden goes
24:12for 11 and T-Law goes for 17. Yeah. I understand that.
24:15Like for you, the answer is I would be more pissed about not playing Jaden Daniels and having him score, outscore Trevor
24:21Lawrence than I would be if I play Jaden Daniels and he gets me 11.
24:25Meanwhile, Trevor Lawrence has 17 on the bench. If I drafted one of the first five quarterbacks that I think are cheat
24:31codes because of their legs, I understand the matchup.
24:34But like, I would always default to them because of what they bring to the game that's different than the other quarterbacks that would be replacing them.
24:41By the way, in this specific situation, had Jaden Daniels stayed healthy all last year, Matthew Stafford still probably would have outscored him.
24:47Like most recently, Stafford's been a better quarterback than him.
24:50Jaden fell off a little last year. So he's coming back off an injury, tough defense, like specific to this situation.
24:56I think it's totally like fine in that scenario to take like a Stafford over Daniel, you know, someone that was really good last year.
25:03Matthew Stafford's not going to do that again, Mike.
25:05Not, probably not going to finish QB3, but he should put up some huge passing numbers.
25:10Last three years before that, he was outside the top 16 all three years.
25:13Two of them, he was outside the top 25.
25:16Justin Herbert's been out at the top 10 the last four years and some people like him around here.
25:21Let's talk about some running backs. Jeremiah Love has never finished in the top 50 and some people like him at running back this year.
25:28Not the same thing. All right, all right, all right.

26:14We're now talking about week one running backs here.
26:17Jameer gets up to the top. Here we go.
26:19One through five. Ja Bijan, CMC, Devon Achan and Jonathan Taylor.
26:22Six through ten is Saquon, Omari and Hampton, Chase Brown, Derrick Henry and Ashton Gentie.
26:27Guys, top ten feels pretty good to be honest.
26:29Eleven, James Cook. Tough matchup against the Houston Texans.
26:31Part of why he's outside the top ten there.
26:34Javon Williams, Brace Hall, Travis Achan and KW3 round out the top 15.
26:38That's one for him too. That's why Walker's lower against Denver.
26:41Yep. Jeremiah Love, Kyron Williams, Cam Scadaboo, Ramondre inside our top 20 who we already talked about.
26:45And DeAndre Swift closing out the top 20 guys.
26:48Mike, who do you want to touch on here?
26:50Yeah, I jotted down Cam Scadaboo just because there's some uncertainty in his role as well.
26:55Obviously, he only played six games as the lead back for the Giants last season.
26:59Was very effective. It was RB6 in fantasy points per game.
27:02He was terrific. Yep. Six touchdowns, six games. He was fantastic.
27:05But obviously, they brought in Najee Harris. You still have Tyrone Tracy there.
27:08You still have Devin Singletary there who, in their unofficial depth chart, you had Scadaboo as a starter, which I find to be notable.
27:15Yep. And then the number two running back was the three-way tie between the other three running backs.
27:20So we don't know what their role is going to be.
27:23I'd be more concerned about this had they listed like Harris and Scadaboo as co-starters or something like other teams have.
27:29The Jaguars, for example. But I feel like that's a nod that Scadaboo will be the clear feature back here.
27:34The Dallas defense, I mentioned this, very poor last year, but I think they're much better, especially up front.
27:39If there's a weak spot. Yes. If there's a weak spot, it's the cornerback position, I would say, or at least a spot that needs to prove themselves.
27:47So I think they'll be much better in that department.
27:50So kind of a neutral matchup in my mind.
27:52The question really is just playing time with the uncertainty, the new coaching staff coming off the major injury.
27:57When the dust settled, I kind of left him where we drafted him, which is right around the top 20.
28:03If I have Scadaboo, I'm totally fine plugging him in my lineup.
28:06Yeah, I still have him as my top-ranked Giants running back.
28:09No surprise there. It's a pretty notable gap between him and anybody else.
28:13But I would put this in the observational category as well.
28:16Like, I cannot wait to see what snap it is for the Giants that Najee Harris is first on the field.
28:22Yeah. Is it second quarter? Is it second play?
28:24Neither would surprise me with the Giants. It just seems to be a legitimate feeling that Najee Harris can help them and help them right now.
28:31We'll see. And by the way, if it's 65-35 between them two, still fine.
28:35That's great. Scadaboo will deliver on ADP. Like, as long as he plays at that level and he's getting 60 or 65%
28:41of the snaps, he's going to be fine. I almost feel like, again, the emotional hedge of my body wants them to
28:47make sure that Cam Scadaboo doesn't have too much of a workload because I do have like a little bit of this
28:53injury concern with the way he plays football. If we go 65-35, I would be okay with that because I think they're
28:59trying to manage at least the wear and tear on his body.
29:03I want him for the full season as well.
29:05By the way, to your point, when those six games last year, he was averaging 16.0 carries and 4.7 targets per game.
29:11That's pretty good workload. I don't think he needs that.
29:14Remember, he was RB6. He doesn't need that to be...
29:1721 touches. Yeah, that's our opportunity. Yeah, he doesn't need that to be...
29:20He might need that to be an RB1, but to be a good RB2, he could see, you know, that could be cut back a little bit.
29:28I think KW3 can be a good RB2, but there's a really tough matchup against Denver.
29:32And he seems like everything's okay. Earlier in the offseason, dealt with a little bit of a foot thing.
29:37Seems like that's completely behind them. He's good to go as the RB1 of this squad and will be the, I think,
29:43a mid-tier RB2 for us in fantasy. Fields, you've got a...
29:46Sorry, Mike. You've got him a little bit higher than Field and I.
29:50Field and I, just, I think, because of the matchup.
29:53Is that fair? Because of the Denver Broncos. We still have him as a starter, but I have him as RB18, so does Fields.
29:59You've got him as RB13. Yeah. Is that just buying into the talent and what they're going to do?
30:04Yeah, projections for guys in that range. 15, 15, 15, 15.
30:08Okay. I mean, it's all... A little bit of a coin flip.
30:11It's so close. The main thing here is very much like Stevenson.
30:14It's like, all right, if we're going to... It's not like we can roll back his volume.
30:19I mean... Right. There's no one else there. Rashard?
30:21Rashard Smith. I think he's there, too. Yeah, he was quietly involved in passing situations last year.
30:26I could see him, especially if Walker... They don't trust him in those situations.
30:30Maybe Smith gets a little bit more than we thought because he did last year.
30:34So, I'm excited to see... Rashard Smith was like our early training camp.
30:37Oh, yeah. Every year the Chiefs have a guy like that.
30:40Oh, they do. Right? Every year. Justin Ross. But he actually was there.
30:44Like, he wasn't fantasy relevant, but he was involved.
30:47But at the beginning of this training camp, people were acting like the Chiefs had just drafted the next T.Y.
30:52Hilton with Cyrus Allen. They did. Oh, yes. He's like, oh, God.
30:55Every year. I just feel like the Chiefs, the Broncos...
30:58There's a couple teams every year where we get this gigantic amount of hype surrounding a player.
31:03And I feel like far more often than not, it proves to be...
31:06Yeah, 49ers probably just... That's like induced by their drafting style.
31:09They always, you know, they'll be like, whoa, they took that guy in the third round.
31:14Like, it happened again this year, Stribbling and Kalen Black.
31:16And looks like so far so good on their part with those guys.
31:20But yeah, same thing. Same thing. Every year. Bill, give us a running back you want to talk about here.
31:26Travis Achan, who I just feel like has consistently been one of the more under-discussed RB2s.
31:30I think he has like a real pathway to being a low-end RB1 as well.
31:34He's going to play a ton. He got real money.
31:37I think the Alvin Kamara renegotiated contract has maybe warped our brains.
31:40A little bit too much. Kamara was retained by the Saints, but it wasn't like it was some...
31:45I mean, that was a knockdown drag-out negotiation, right?
31:48Like, it's clear the Saints were preparing for life without Alvin Kamara.
31:51I think he's an okay player at this juncture of his career.
31:54He means more to the franchise and the city than I think he does sort of what they want to do offensively.
32:00So I think Achan will be very busy. This week specifically, Alvin Kamara has not practiced since he went down with that...
32:06I think it was an MCL situation. It was a knee situation one way or the other.
32:11And I referenced this earlier when we were talking about Kellen Moore calling plays for Jalen Hurts.
32:16This guy plays fast. There's just more opportunities here.
32:18Like, just do the math. If the highest... I'm going to guess, and Mike probably knows the exact answer.
32:23I'm going to guess that the fastest-paced offense plays somewhere around, like, on average, 73 to 75 snaps per game.
32:29I think it's less than that. Generally, I think it's going to be...
32:32The NFL average is like 63, 64. I would say 70 is probably a number you want to get to safely.
32:38So 70 on the high end. Let's see what I'm doing.
32:41There could be 10 extra plays compared to one of the slowest-paced offenses in the NFL, right?
32:46And just... I mean, that's... Do the math on that.
32:49That's an extra, what, like 12 to 15% in terms of total opportunities for Achan, who obviously is a very capable pass catcher.
32:55This matchup this weekend obviously scares me. It's basically like playing against the 85 Bears or the Daniels Lions.
33:00I'm kidding there. The matchup is fine. It is whatever.
33:03Like, I don't have a... Sorry, I got to finish with that.
33:06I don't have a strong opinion on the Lions' run defense.
33:09It's fine. It's not... I'm more concerned about their secondary than I am their run defense.
33:14The matchup is fine. Should be a lot of points scored on Sunday.
33:17Looking forward to this game. I think that Achan has a real chance.
33:21He's probably one of my favorite... He's my favorite bet for a guy being drafted somewhere between RB 14 and 20 to
33:27finish as RB, like, 8 to 12. Yeah, totally fair.
33:30Saints' fastest offense last year averaged 63 plays a game, which was about average, but they weren't super efficient for chunks of last year.
33:36I totally screwed up that stat. Well, hold on.
33:39I'll get there. But if the offense is more efficient, obviously playing faster will lead to more plays.
33:44If you're going three and out, you're not going to run all that plays.
33:47But the highest was actually 66 last year for Chicago.
33:50You will see teams sometimes push 68, 69 in that sort of range.
33:54I think 75. But the Bears were 66 last year.
33:56Who was the fewest? The fewest last year was 56 snaps a game.
34:00That was actually the... Billy? Your Bay? It was the Raiders.
34:03Raiders, Dolphins, Vikings, which actually makes sense. Vikings also protecting their defense.
34:06But yeah. We're about to get to wide receivers.
34:0956 to 66. Because we've covered our running back ground.
34:12Can we just take a moment? Yeah. To appreciate Mike Clay.
34:15Oh my gosh. No, no, no, no, no, no.
34:17Let's take a moment to appreciate field eights for one.
34:20No, let's do a Daniel Dopp in a minute.
34:22But just like, I just asked a completely obscure and random stat.
34:26Yep. That normally I would first go to like Google and probably struggle there for a while.
34:30Then I would like, you know, call a friend to be consoled and say like, why am I such a big dummy?
34:36And I can't figure out how many plays are people are running on average.
34:40And Mike is like, hold on one moment. And Mike's, he's on his own database.
34:44This is just Mike's stuff. This is not like something he's pulling from.
34:48You were like, it's not like you're outsourcing to somebody else.
34:51This is clay and information. Yeah. This that's baked into our projections.
34:54That stuff updates every single week. So that sort of, that sort of, I'm just saying that that's the backbone.
35:00Stuff like that is the backbone for our projections.
35:02You are the backbone for our projections. But like you're talking about a fast-paced Kellen Moore offense that our projections have integrated that the whole off season.
35:10So that stuff's always thought of always integrated. Again, trying to be humble.
35:13What we're trying to say is you integrated all of that into the projections as a part of this.
35:18And so that when we're looking at these numbers, you've already put so much work into it.
35:23Well, remember that when you're being mean to me.
35:26Well, I always remember it. I always remember it.
35:28We're not going to not be mean to you.
35:30It's just fun to be mean to you sometimes.
35:33People need to appreciate the brilliance of Mike Light.
35:35You got to keep people in the middle, you know?
35:38That's right. You got to stay humble. I got to knock you down a peg every once in a while.
35:44This game will humble you. There you go, Mike.
35:46It'll humble you. You've been playing golf recently. That's right.
35:49Let's talk about some wide receivers, my friends, here in week one.
35:52Diving into the top 10. One through five. Puka Nakua.
35:55Jamar Chase. Amon Ross St. Brown at three. JSN and CeeDee Lamb.
35:58Six through 10. Justin Jefferson. Nico Collins. Drake London.
36:01Chris Olave. And Devonta Smith. 11 through 15. Tedaroa McMillan.
36:03Garrett Wilson. George Pickens. AJ Brown. And Rashi Rice all the way down at 15.
36:08And we'll talk about him in a second. Zay Flowers at 16.
36:11Lad McConkie. Emeka Abuka. Devonta Adams. And Tee Higgins.
36:13Rounding out the top 20. Can we start with Rashi Rice being wide receiver 15 here?
36:18A little lower than usual. Yeah. Is this again just that?
36:21Yeah. I took some risks on him in knockout leagues.
36:24I have him on two of my three knockout teams.
36:26So a little nervous going into week one on that one.
36:29But we're still going to fire him up. He's going to be super heavily targeted.
36:33We saw that last year. Don't forget. He averaged 9.8 targets per game when he was healthy last season.
36:39That's a massive number. If he does that for a full healthy season for the first time in his career, he will
36:45be at least a mid-range RB or wide receiver one.
36:47So there's tremendous upside for him if he stays on the field.
36:51The reason I still like him is, remember, the Chiefs have been top seven in pass attempts six consecutive seasons.
36:56Mahomes probably isn't going to run as much this year.
36:59He's going to be throwing the ball a lot.
37:01And we know Rice is his top target. So I feel pretty good about him.
37:06I just wanted to kind of reiterate that. Not to mention, by the way, he's first in yards after the catch as well over the last three seasons.
37:13I mean, I just don't want us to forget about the caliber of play this guy is able to deliver.
37:19However, as for the matchup here, you guys mentioned it earlier.
37:22Will he see a lot of Pat Sertan? I don't think so.
37:25He was in the slot 44% of the time last season.
37:28Sertan does not travel inside except for very rare occurrences.
37:31Even at times, they'll put him on Travis Kelsey.
37:33We've seen that for a handful of snaps if Kelsey's out in the slot.
37:37But he has not chatted Rice at all so far in his career.
37:41So I'm not worried about that. You're going to see a lot of Taequann Thornton on the perimeter.
37:46Xavier Worthy is going to be out there as well.
37:48And Sertan probably plays his side in this game.
37:51So I'm not super concerned about that. Do you think Pat Sertan is ever like, you know, I shouldn't be guarding Taequann
37:57Thornton right now, given like how good I am.
37:59But he's the one that plays on the outside.
38:02It's cardio for him. I mean, as long as you don't.
38:05It really is. Look, the Chiefs, if the Chiefs are going to win some games this year, it's going to be, or
38:11when they win games, and Thorton will catch a long touchdown.
38:14So just having Sertan neutralize that could be a win.
38:17Raheem Sanders, legend Taequann Thornton. Taequann Thornton. By the way, that's coming back.
38:20Bringing it back. That's right. I can't wait to help you guys make some money.
38:24Let's play a tiny game of buyer sell. It seems like the anti-Rashi Rice case, I guess, is twofold.
38:30One is how healthy is he? Andy Reid said yesterday he's going to play.
38:34But, you know, not for nothing. The guy recovered from a knee surgery in jail.
38:38Yes. That's a real sentence, by the way. But Andy Reid made it seem like he's good.
38:42All right? And it wasn't like when he underwent that knee surgery, there was reporting, like, even if he was recovering at
38:48his house or at a physical therapy institute, that this was some six-month injury.
38:52It was just a very unique set of circumstances in terms of where he dealt with his initial recovery.
38:57Yep. That's one. But two is if the Chiefs can run the football effectively enough, is that going to replace the short
39:03passing game, which Rashi Rice kind of was the fulcrum of over the past two seasons?
39:08Are you guys buying or selling that latter one?
39:10I am selling. I think Andy Reid's resume speaks for itself.
39:13Yes. It's both. It's like Kenneth Walker III can run the crap out of the ball, and Rashi Rice will still see a lot.
39:20Well, it's also, I mean, there's a few things specific to this matchup is, you know, it's Denver.
39:25Like, they might not win this game. They might be trailing throughout this game.
39:29So that's part of it. Sorry, I was thinking just in general.
39:32No, I know. I'm getting there. I was just putting, you know, just kind of putting a bow on the matchup here.
39:38I think that matters in this scenario, too. If they were playing Arizona, I might feel like, yeah, I'm a little more concerned this week about volume.
39:46But in general, I think Andy Reid's resume speaks for itself, and he always wants to throw the football.
39:51So even if it leans, even if it's not wildly pass-heavy, it's still going to lean that way, I think.
39:56And it'll, they might come out in the first quarter and give it to Walker a few times, but they're going to throw the ball.
40:03Even if it's not wildly pass-heavy. You'll pat Mahomes.
40:06I still expect that target share to always just be higher with him than anyone else on the spot, clearly.
40:11And also, you laughed when I said Taequann Thornton.
40:14Like, he's their number three receiver. Maybe their number one perimeter receiver in some ways.
40:18Like, their dedicated perimeter receiver. Like, Travis Kelsey's, what, 34, like 35, 34.
40:21What was the frame of reference in terms of games in which he averaged 9.8 targets?
40:26It was just last season. Rasheed Rice, yeah. Because that goes back to, remember, two years ago.
40:30Yep. He got hurt in the fourth game of the season.
40:33So I believe if you go back to the start of 2024, if I did my math correctly, not the biggest brain
40:39here, in the past 10 games, he has 107 targets.
40:42The 11th game was the game in which he got hurt against the Chargers very early in it.
40:47But that's over, it's nearly 11 games. That's a huge number.
40:50It's the start of 2024. So if he's fully healthy, and if the Chiefs don't dramatically shift their offensive approach, he has
40:56a chance to be, you know, top five-ish in targets this season.
40:59Another guy that has a chance to be top five in targets this season, or at least he was last year, guys, Chris Olave.
41:06Chris Olave. Chris Olave is perennially underrated, I feel like, at the wide receiver spot still when you look at everything that he did.
41:13I think this offseason he had his come up, but before that I would agree.
41:17Okay. But you think he's finally getting the rightful just due that he deserves?
41:21His wallet is fat enough to suggest as much.
41:23That's fair. That's fair. All right. 32 million or whatever it is a year, 35 million.
41:28Top five in targets, top five in receptions. I believe he was seventh.
41:31Seventh in receiving yards, sixth in receiving touchdowns. What's going to change this week is he plays the Detroit Lions, who are
41:37still dealing with a bunch of secondary issues, not going to have their two starting safeties, not going to have their number two cornerback now.
41:44So it's going to be a situation in which he is going to be one of the featured guys.
41:49I have him as a top 10 wide receiver in a great spot against the Detroit Lions.
41:54Love me some Chris Olave as a starter this week.
41:57Hard to argue against that, right? Yeah, agreed. I was just going to say, now's the time to get the Lions defense.
42:03Yes, it is. And specifically the Lions secondary, because at some point this year, probably midway through the season, they're going to be healthier.
42:09Kirby Joseph, Brian Branch come back. Yeah, they should be back.
42:12We would expect, you know, they're both out at least four games, but at some point they'll be back and healthy, hopefully, barring a setback.
42:19Cornerback remains a question mark, but having those guys at safety, not to mention the depth and the versatility.
42:24Branch can play the slot, that kind of stuff.
42:27It's going to be a game changer. I think this is a Lions defense that could start poorly and finish strongly and
42:33make them a serious contender, especially with the light schedule this year.
42:36So yeah, Lave in a great spot here. Also, we think that this game, Lions, you talked about the implied total.
42:42One of the highest implied totals of the week.
42:44You expect the Detroit Lions to be scoring a lot, which means they're going to have to throw a lot.
42:50Fits really nicely, actually, for all of the Saints, to be honest, in this offense.
42:54Totally, yeah. Because I think Travis Achan's a great pass catcher on the backfield, too.
42:58I'll be curious on Olave, and this applies to all the Saints.
43:02Anytime a team comes on really hot down the stretch, I ask myself, is this signs of real improvement?
43:07Or is this, at the end of the year, let's just face it, teams are backed up with injury, teams are perhaps jockeying for draft position.
43:14Did the Saints win a bunch of games down the stretch last year because they got a lot better and it suggests
43:20they're about to make a real leap? Or do they perhaps feast on a semi-week schedule that was also influenced by teams
43:26that were on to different goals and priorities? My lean is that this team is ready for a real leap.
43:31I think they have an actual shot to win this division this year.
43:35I'm just mentioning that as a potential, called a yellow flag, in case things don't come out of the gates red hot
43:41for the passing game like it finished down the stretch last year.
43:44Wide receiver six in the wide receiver rankings for all three of us is Justin Jefferson.
43:49I don't really have any analysis other than two things.
43:52One, you've got to have faith. You've got to have faith.
43:55But the Packers, one of the most prominent stories that I read about during the summer surrounding the Packers was, who are the starting cornerbacks on this game?
44:02I know. Keyshawn Nixon, a former standout as a return man, had become a very capable corner.
44:07Kind of in no man's land right now with his job.
44:10So what does this offense look like? You know, does this defense look like?
44:14Nate Hobbs, who they signed last offseason, was like a total bust for them in his first season with the team.
44:20So, like, what do you do with this secondary?
44:22And can it provide any resistance to Justin Jefferson?
44:25I mean, again, I don't have any analysis. He's my wide receiver six.
44:28Like, let's see ten targets, and let's see Kyler Murray do his job.
44:32Yeah, that's the key. Just set him up and actually on target throws, conversions near the goal line, just be better, more efficiently.
44:38But yeah, if they come out and he has six targets this week, it's going to be like, what are we doing here?
44:44We're going to revolt. The entire state of Minnesota will revolt.
44:47All the fantasy football will revolt. Kyler Murray cannot have six targets to Justin Jefferson a week.
44:52And I don't think that will happen, but we've been frustrated with Kyler before, where you're just like, well, he wasn't open.
44:58Like, you know, that was to Harrison. Right. And I know Harrison and Jefferson aren't the same guy.
45:03I get that. But we can't have that commentary in the post-game locker room.
45:07It is. Didn't Kyler Murray last year say it's not my job to get him the football?
45:12Yeah. That's what I mean. About Marvin Harrison. Like, that's a tough one.
45:15It's like Marvin Harrison were like, okay, maybe there's something there wasn't working right.
45:19It's not okay with Justin Jefferson. Yes. It's you.
45:21You're the problem. It's you. Right, exactly. If you're not getting him the ball, you're the problem.
45:26I won't overreact. Like, if Christian McCaffrey only has four targets in week one, I'm not going to be like, oh my
45:32God, they aren't involving him in the passing game.
45:35Justin Jefferson, if he only has five or six targets in week one, I will overreact.
45:39Yep. Yeah. Agreed. All right, let's take a couple questions from our chat, my friends.
45:43First one comes from the Carter901. Carter, thanks for hanging out with us in the chat.
45:48Why is everyone sleeping on Daniel Jones so hard this year?
45:51He's literally undrafted in almost every league. He was averaging over 20 fantasy points a game last season.
45:56Is that true, Mike Clay? This is totally fair.
45:58I believe he was the QB seven before he got hurt last season.
46:02I think there's a couple reasons here. One is, first of all, he was rushing to drop off last year, and now
46:08he's coming off a major injury to his leg, to his knee.
46:11So that's what could limit his upside. Also, that offense was pumping out three and a half touchdowns per game last year.
46:17It's hard to imagine they can do that again.
46:19That's just such a hard number to do. Teams just don't sustain that year to year.
46:24We've seen the Chiefs fall off from being able to do something like that.
46:28So that's a hesitation. Also, there's massive depth at the quarterback position, which we've just hammered to death all offseason.
46:33That being said, in Superflex, he's been one of my favorite QB two targets.
46:37So I totally get where you're coming from. I've viewed him as a value this year.
46:41But the fact is, when you're looking at the top 10 or 12 starting quarterback options week to week, he's just not there right now.
46:48There's just so many quality options. I think we have a couple more mailbags.
46:52And then let's rip through tight ends because we want to get to our ranking.
46:56Yeah, we got some fun stuff. Let's get to the fun stuff.
47:00Typical field. Yeah. Care about ball. Just wants to do nonsense.
47:03Another question from our YouTube chat. This one comes from Jordan Stuck.
47:06Wants to know, start two in a Superflex league.
47:08Drake May, Matthew Stafford, and Tyler. Sounds like Jordan is stuck on Chuck.
47:12Hey-oh. So rankings for me, I'm almost positive of Drake May and Matthew Stafford.
47:16Oh, me too. I have Chuck way down. Against the Detroit Lions, you have them way down the list?
47:21Yeah. I mean, just compared to those guys. Yeah.
47:23I would land on the first two. I would play.
47:26I know you play. Drake May and Tyler Shuck, and I would bench Matthew Stafford.
47:30Okay. I'm out on Matthew Stafford being the same guy that he was last year.
47:34All right. One more question here from our chat.
47:37You guys think Roma Dunze plays this week? I lean towards yes.
47:40I would lean towards yes, too. I haven't seen it.
47:43I haven't heard enough panic, but we'll find out more today.
47:46Day to day. But I lean towards yes is my instinct.
47:49I was going to say, if he does play, do we think there's going to be a workload thing there, or is it just...
47:56Honestly, if a guy is needing to be managed snap-wise with a relatively new injury in week one, you shouldn't be playing him.
48:02Right? Like George Kittle, I get it. Different. Massive.
48:04But if it's like he tweaked his foot in practice 10 days ago, we're going to let him play 20 snaps.
48:10Just don't let him play at all. Sure. Is where I would land.
48:14Speaking of George Kittle, let's talk about some tight ends here really quickly.
48:17We're going to go. Just in case you need to replace George Kittle, we're going to look at the top 10 tight ends this week.
48:24Brock Bowers, Trey McBride, Colston Loveland, Tyler Warren, Harold Fan, and get used to those names probably being at the top five of the list many weeks.
48:32Sam Laporta, Kyle Pitts, Dallas Goddard, Travis Kelsey, and Mark Andrews round out the top 10 there, my friends.
48:37When I look at this list, I got to be honest, it just falls off so quickly.
48:42Really does. After about the fourth or fifth. Typical tight end.
48:45It's just different. It feels very gnarly all of a sudden.
48:48I'm going to really quickly start with Sam Laporta, guys, just in this offense.
48:51Sam Laporta back has been looking better in practice, been dealing with that back and hip injury, but things have sounded good,
48:57feeling a lot better about rolling him out week one.
49:00So not worried about any of the injury concerns that we had leading into the season right now, even though there's a
49:06lot of different mouths in that offense to feed.
49:09He's still going to be a starter for the Lions against the Saints.
49:12So we have him as a top 10 tight end, but good to go.
49:16No reason to be concerned about the injury as of right now.
49:19I've got a top eight ranking on Isaiah Likely, who was one of the higher climbing players in ranks for me during the preseason.
49:26We talked yesterday, I think it was, about the Darius Slayton cut by the New York Giants.
49:31Perhaps a sign of confidence in Malik Nabors. Perhaps a sign of confidence in Malachi Fields.
49:35Perhaps a sign of confidence in Isaiah Likely, who's going to be on the field when the team is throwing the football.
49:41Very talented guy. He got a good contract this offseason.
49:44I think Isaiah Likely is sort of a sneaky back end tight end one.
49:48Do you know who Isaiah Likely used to play for?
49:51John Harbaugh and the Baltimore Ravens. You sure did.
49:53After he played for Coastal Carolina in college. Okay, no, we don't care about that.
49:57Come on. We're not too far. Everett High School, Massachusetts.
50:00Thank you, him and Mikey Sandristill. It's likely that we don't care about all of that stuff he just said, other than
50:06the Ravens part, because that's my segue into Mark Andrews.
50:09There we go. Mike's just like, let me get my stat out.
50:12Let me just say my stat. Did you let me get my segue in here?
50:16I tried so hard to be Daniel Dockman. I know.
50:19You were so good with it, too, Michael. And also, yesterday, you said we haven't talked about Mark Andrews all offseason.
50:25So, of course, I picked Mark Andrews. Look, I don't know if we're too low or too high on this guy.
50:30I mean, he was 24th in fantasy points per game last year.
50:34He used to be top five every single year.
50:36But there are a lot of circumstances that have changed.
50:39New coaching staff. Healthy Lamar Jackson. Isaiah Likely's not there anymore.
50:42They're still kind of shallow at the wide receiver position.
50:45So, I think Andrews has at least a shot to bounce back.
50:48They're playing the Colts. They struggled against tight ends last year.
50:51They definitely might have the shakiest linebacker situation in the NFL.
50:54So, there's opportunities for him to get off to a good start.
50:57And remember, say what you want about his drop-off in usage last year in production.
51:01He is still a force near the goal line.
51:04He's finished top 10 in end zone targets at tight end seven consecutive seasons.
51:08So, he stays busy in that area. We know Lamar likes him in that range.
51:12So, there's a chance. That's why we have him ranked as a fringe top 10 option here in week one.
51:17Yeah, he can kind of rebound and get back to that Mark Andrews type player that we've seen in the past.
51:23I hope so. Now that Isaiah Likely is there.
51:26A couple other guys we want to bring to the table.
51:29Just a few other before we get out here.
51:31I want to do another tight end if you don't mind.
51:34How do you guys feel about Juwan Johnson? Because if I've got George Kittle, I like him against the Lions.
51:40He only feels fine to you. As a number.
51:42Okay. Feels fine. I don't know. He's like one of the ultimate fine players.
51:46He's just a fine guy. Okay. Yeah. I like the matchup this week.
51:50I like the idea that we're going to have a condensed target tree.
51:53No Jordan Tyson. Again, playing the Lions. And with that implied total, I liked him as someone that you could potentially use
51:59in week one if you had concerns with Kittle or Tucker Krabs.
52:02Remember at the beginning of last season, and this carried on for a lot of last year.
52:07Like, he was playing every snap for the Saints early on in the season last year.
52:12So, he'll be on the field a lot. He'll be on the field a lot for sure.
52:16Hopefully, we have a rate of play. You think they get to 75 plays?
52:20Probably not. That was just a pathetic. Depends how the game goes.
52:23It could happen. What about you, Field Jates? Didn't Dan Marino throw for 8,000 yards one year?
52:28That was correct, right? He nailed it. It was 9,000.
52:31That was it. I'll say it again. Wondell Robinson time, baby.
52:34I don't know why I'm banging the table. I'm banging the table for Wondell Robinson.
52:38I just feel like every year there's a guy that just sort of, he doesn't win you your league, right?
52:43But he saves your bacon for you. You're like, I drafted this guy as my fourth or fifth wide receiver, and he
52:49ends up being incredibly valuable to me. I think he's going to lead the Titans in catches, targets, and receiving yards.
52:55Bam. I said it. Interesting. He is Jarvis Landry, right?
52:58Of this generation right now in fantasy football. I've got him as money.
53:02Where am I about this? Wide receiver 27 for me this week.
53:05You guys are both at wide receiver 39. I'm in.
53:08Yeah. Yeah, we're a little lower. Just thinking a lot of Carnell Tate there.
53:11I might be a little hair too high on Calvin Ridley.
53:14Still having a role in that offense. You are so high.
53:17We'll see. It's not like I'm starting him. But yeah, like Corlin Sutton, Michael Pittman, those kind of guys.
53:23They just win. You know, just might be your wide receiver three and just get the job done for you.
53:28Yep. I just wanted to briefly mention Marvin Harrison Jr.
53:31Oh, yeah. We're still not a lineup lock. He's just outside my top 30, but he plays the Chargers.
53:36I remember he was very good. Better than you realize with Jacoby Brissett in four games last year.
53:41So still fine to start him. And the other one is I wanted to mention the Jags backfield.
53:46Vishal Toon and Chris Rodriguez listed as co-starters. LeQuint Allen Dicey for this game.
53:50If he's out, that's going to open up at a couple extra targets.
53:54He, much like Brashard Smith, who I mentioned earlier, quietly more involved than you realize in the passing game for Jacksonville last season.
54:00If he's out, that opens up a little bit more for Tootin and maybe Rodriguez and makes them more palatable starting options.
54:06I'm not going to start Rodriguez this week until we see if he is involved in the passing game.
54:11But Tootin is certainly on the RB2 radar. We are going to be going back to our game by game recaps starting on Monday of this upcoming week.
54:19Yeah, baby. Yeah, our own tee to the Jaguars wide receiver and running back deployments will be mentioned in that.
54:24I will be just reading off snap counts on Monday.
54:27I mean, that's going to be that's snap counts in week one are like and touches are the most important thing.
54:33I learned so much from honestly being able to have like Mike just get the stat feed right into his veins from the NFL.
54:39Like I'm not prepping for Monday. I'm just literally going to have to snap count.
54:44I have a doc, like a sheet that shows the snap counts and I'm just going to tell you what they say.
54:50That's it. That's the most important thing we can learn.
54:52And we can't really is. Yep. He's going to be like, guys, Jerry Judy had a 14th target or I don't know
54:58if targets are Judy led the Browns and routes run or something.
55:02Please don't. Please don't. Very possible. I shouldn't have said that.
55:05I don't want that. That might happen actually. Let's do some random rankings.
55:08Guys, we wanted to have a little bit of fun.
55:11I was talking with our producers and we want to rank a few fun things.
55:15I was thinking about, I think it was a couple of years ago.
55:19I accidentally had an accident in an eye doctor's bathroom.
55:21I remember this actually. Bad place to have a bathroom emergency.
55:24I wanted to ask you guys, top three worst places to have a bathroom emergency, whether it's yours or I know you're also parents of children.
55:32Yes. Oh boy. Maybe that comes to the table as well.
55:35But who wants to start? We each brought three to the table.
55:38Are we doing three, two, one? Should we all do our threes?
55:41We all do our threes and then I'll do our ones.
55:44Yes. And then we want chat just to weigh in.
55:47Do you guys have a worst place to have a bathroom emergency or if one of ours is the best?
55:53Send us yours. I thought it was hard. I think we all should be able to go like one at a time
55:59because if I read all of mine, you could have two of my three picks.
56:03Oh, that's fair. Okay. I brought a little bit of extra to the table, but Mike, why don't you start?
56:08You want me to do just number three? Just number three.
56:11Okay. Three for me is a stuck elevator. It'll start easy.
56:14We're going to start simple. That would be bad.
56:17But that seems about as bad as it gets because there's no escaping for anyone.
56:21There isn't. No. And you can't go anywhere. No, but you're stuck.
56:24You're there. Yeah. You're not going. That's tough. I forget what movie it was.
56:28Maybe it was a TV show, but there's a scene where a guy is on the elevator with, I believe, a woman.
56:34So it's even more embarrassing and he has to like let one rip.
56:38And he goes, in tight places, give me gas.
56:40Oh, no. On the elevator. That's not good. Did he say it was you?
56:44Yeah, it was me. Number three for me, a ski mountain.
56:47Oh. You know why? Why? Because it's all well and good and you're like, dude, you can just go to the tree.
56:53Yes. Okay. Well, if you're like really have to go, shedding all those layers is not fun.
56:58Yes. And then let's assume you do shed all those layers.
57:01Your tootsies and your booty are freezing. Yes. Like that sucks.
57:04And if someone comes by, you can't just like quickly throw them back on.
57:08You can't throw them back on. It's very popular.
57:10Also, a lot of ski pants are ski pants like overalls where they go all the way over your shoulders.
57:16Yeah. Like you're just pulling your pants down. It's tough.
57:18That's a cut. I almost had this was a late cut for me.
57:22I almost like that exact one for that exact reason.
57:25Not that I've experienced this before or anything. Mine was similar to Mike's because they're kind of the same thing, but different.
57:31I said an airplane because being stuck in a tight place, not a lot of people that are there.
57:36What are you going to do? Everyone knows that it's you.
57:39Yeah. You can't get away from the smells of stuff.
57:42And it's just like, it doesn't feel good. I thought about that, but at least you have a bathroom.
57:47There is at least a bathroom there. Yes. Yeah.
57:49But there is a bathroom, but everybody knows when you walk into the bathroom and the indicator light is on.
57:55Yes. And they're like, wait, why has it been red for nine minutes straight?
57:59And then when you come out, the door opens and everyone gets that first smell.
58:03And then they know it's you because you're the only one walking down the hall.
58:07That's just not great. Bathroom is not a good spot.
58:10Give us your number two. All right. Number two for me.
58:13This is somewhere I visited often, so I know this would be bad.
58:16But at the front of the line after a 90 minute wait for Rise of the Resistance at Disney World.
58:22Oh, that's very specific. So specific. You don't, you know, you don't have the, you didn't get the fast pass area that,
58:28you know, you didn't get it this time. Yep.
58:30You waited 90 minutes for the ride. You waited in line, which is something I'm bad about.
58:35I'm all over the app and the passes, but you get to the front of the line and then you have to go on that ride too.
58:42Yeah. Hold it. Or Avatar, whatever it is, whatever you're waiting for.
58:46You have to make it through all that. That's shifting around.
58:49I mean, that'd be a nightmare. That will be a bad problem.
58:52And by the way. Hypothetically speaking. With young kids too, you get to the front of line.
58:57They're like, I have to pee. Even that too is like, that's a little different.
59:01I guess that's a bathroom emergency. That qualifies. That qualifies.
59:04But that's, I've been there. It's like, can you wait like five minutes till we get through this ride?
59:09Anywhere where there's a lot of people is a problem, right?
59:12Because there's nowhere to hide. Yep. Which is why my number two pick, hear me out here, is a mall.
59:17Oh, that's a good one. Mall stinks for a few reasons.
59:20First of all, there's lots of people, right? So you're being judged by eyeballs.
59:24Probably 99.9% of which have no idea who you are.
59:27Yep. Second of all, malls have bathrooms. But mall bathrooms are never close to where you are.
59:32Somehow it's like, you're in whatever, Banana Republic, and the bathroom is as far away as you could possibly be at whatever, Williams-Sonoma.
59:38And you're like, how is it eight miles to the closest mall, to the closest bathroom?
59:42On top of that, you can't run in a mall.
59:45There's no reason to run in a mall unless you're a kid.
59:48That's true. Other than you got bubble guts. Yes.
59:51So being stuck in a mall, awful place to have a bathroom emergency.
59:54I agree with that. I agree with that one.
59:57What if you're like trying on clothes in the mall too?
60:00Like, hey, I'm trying on, Daniel's trying on some new leather pants.
60:03Now he has to buy them. I think. These clothes smell.
60:06I don't want them. I don't. I don't. I brought another one that's similar to that one, Field.
60:11But this one's specifically about being a dude. Okay.
60:14And it's a sporting event. Ooh, not a good place.
60:16Because here's the thing. You go to any, like, let's say you go to TD Garden, right?
60:21And this is not about anyone in Boston. This is any sporting event, any city.
60:25It's not about Boston. If I have to do a number two.
60:28Yeah. There have been at least 35 dudes that have just peed all over the toilet seat.
60:33They don't care about lifting it up. It's everything about an actual bathroom to do that in a stadium is just gross.
60:39You're basically just sitting in urine and it's disgusting.
60:42You got to wipe it all up. And then you're like, I can't believe I'm doing this.
60:46And then I still got to do the thing that I am, like, here for.
60:50I think going to the bathroom at a stadium with, like, a bunch of other people is just disgusting.
60:56Because men are gross. Y'all need to grow up and get some mothers or something.
61:00True. That's a good argument. Not wrong. All right.
61:02I can't. No comeback. Got it. All right. Got it.
61:05All right. My turn? Number one. All right. Number one for me.
61:089.59 a.m. Eastern. Sunday through Friday. Sunday from mid-September through mid-January.
61:11The worst time. That's fair. That is. That's a really good one.
61:15Where we begin. Yes. Fantasy focus countdown and fantasy focus.
61:17One minute before showtime. Oh, God. That can be tough.
61:20Yeah. So if, you know, the show starts and only two of us are here, either Daniel's in traffic or someone had a bathroom emergency.
61:27You and I are consistent. We, like, I will, I don't care if I, if, if I have not, I don't care
61:33if I've been in the desert for a week.
61:36Like, I will go to the bathroom before our show just in case.
61:39It's just, to me, it's a, it's, I think it's a, it's a, I always do just, I don't want to be sitting there at 1045.
61:46Like, Oh my God. Is that where you guys always like disappear to together?
61:50We go. I had no idea. We go to the bathroom.
61:53You don't invite me to go to the bathroom with you.
61:56I just found out now in front of everybody that I get left out of bathroom time.
62:01Well, there's only two stalls in there. So actually, actually that's an, that's, that could be another one.
62:06Like a bathroom etiquette. So there's two. What do you do?
62:09What do you do? So LaField and I go in, I always give him that and I go in the stall.
62:15Cause I feel like you don't just stand right now.
62:17The bathroom is empty. You don't stand right next to someone, right?
62:21Two urinals with a partition, but Mike goes into this stall because he's a man.
62:25It just feels weird if you walk in together and you just go, why would you stand right next to each other in this gigantic bathroom?
62:32It makes no sense. So I go in. Most important is when there's three urinals, you don't take the middle one.
62:38Never. Never. People are good about that. People are good about that.
62:41All right. Last one for me. Yep. Wedding ceremony.
62:43Awful place to have an emergency because again, wedding ceremonies, generally speaking, aren't that long.
62:48Like my wedding was 20 minutes, maybe 25. I guess if you go to a Catholic wedding, they could be closer to an hour.
62:54Sure. But the idea is like, you're getting seated this for this very special occasion.
62:58There's really no reason to get up. And then if you do get up, everybody starts looking at you.
63:04You distract from the bride who all of a sudden is pissed at you.
63:07And like, where'd you go? And it's like, I'm sorry.
63:10I had three burritos for breakfast. Gosh. What do you do in that?
63:14Like, how do you leave there? How do you?
63:16I think you just got to get up and take the hit.
63:19Yeah. Yeah. Because like, it's better for you to do that than to actually disrupt the wedding.
63:24Or you like, you get up, you just, you go, you walk.
63:27And just like, if anybody acknowledged you, just be like, couldn't be happier for you guys to a lifetime of happiness.
63:33But I got to go. You got to own it.
63:36Like, that's really the only thing you can do.
63:38Yeah, you have to. You don't want to ruin anything.
63:41That would actually could be kind of like a baller move.
63:44Like, that would be a thing that they would remember forever in their wedding if you did it the right way, maybe.
63:50Oh, God. What's your pick? You guys aren't my favorite, but you're a solid number two.
63:55Get out of there. Boom. I wish I didn't have a number one because I want to end on that.
64:00Michael, that was so good. Try the veal. Let's go.
64:03All right. My number one is, I have a story, a true story that happened.
64:07This is a real thing. But I think the worst place to have a bathroom emergency is during a traffic stop.
64:13My friend Scott. My actual friend Scott. It's not like Field's roommate from Wesleyan who had a cousin who had this happen.
64:19Like my actual friend, Scott, I promise you this entire thing happened.
64:22Was driving up 91, going to Vermont. Started to feel sick.
64:25And it was the kind of sick where like he was fine.
64:28But it was like, you know, you get like the hot sweat.
64:32So you start feeling like you're keeping down like from throwing up.
64:35And it's just like out of nowhere. He's like, I'm trying to hold out until I can get to the next exit.
64:41I'll go to the bathroom. Whatever. It just keeps being no exits.
64:44Like for him to not do it. It gets to a point where he's like, I can't.
64:49I can't do this anymore. He's about to like throw up while he's driving in the car.
64:54Pulls off to the side of the road. And falls to the ground.
64:57And starts to vomit. While he is vomiting, his body like starts to spasm.
65:01And a little bit comes out the other side.
65:04He's now on his hands and knees on the side of the highway.
65:07Throwing up. A little bit just came out the backside.
65:10And after he's done, he stands up and turns around.
65:13And a state trooper had pulled over right behind him to watch him.
65:16Oh no. And so he, after first doing a medical emergency check, is like, okay.
65:20Now that I know that you're not dying, you clearly are intoxicated.
65:24If I'm just watching, you'll be here throwing up on the side of the highway all over the place.
65:29And he's like, I actually did a number two.
65:31Can I go get a towel from my bag?
65:34He's like, nope. You're going to have to stand right here.
65:37Oh no. He's in his shorts and a pair of slippers.
65:40Like flip flops. In December? In December. Because he's driving.
65:43He's just driving to Vermont where he's going to go.
65:45He stands there for a half an hour. They make him do the line.
65:49Walks a line. His breathalyzer isn't working. So he calls a second police officer.
65:53Makes him come over and blow a 0.00. And he's standing there this entire time with poop in his pants.
65:59All right. At a traffic stop. For those reasons, I'm out.
66:02Listen, I'll wrap up with this. If you ever have a bathroom emergency.
66:05His name is Scott. Just remember, diarrhea is hereditary.
66:08It runs in your jeans. Okay. And we'll leave it at that.
66:11Let's do a couple from chat real fast before we get out of here.
66:15King Ransalot. Worst place. Just roller coaster. That's pretty close.
66:18I thought about Sandlot. That wasn't obvious. That's bad.
66:20Exactly the same. That's a pretty close one, guys.
66:23Oh, God. During the dinner of meeting new girlfriends.
66:25Bad way to break the ice. Yeah. Meeting new significant others' parents would be a tough one.
66:30No one nice. I pooped my pants more times in the last two years than I have in the previous 30.
66:35That's just nice to know. That's just a fun fact.
66:38Yeah. In case you guys were wondering about that one.
66:41Zebediah says skydiving. Can you imagine skydiving? What would you do because you're strapped into the guy behind you who's helping you skydive?
66:47And then, by the way, when your stuff hits the ground, that's going to be moving many, many miles per hour.
66:53Watch out below! I like the percentage tag DSP and NFL.
66:56The social media is like, what is that? What are they talking about on this show?
67:00I got to be honest with you guys. Love doing the show with you.
67:04I thought that was one of our crappy episodes.
67:07You're so drunk. We love you guys. Thank you for hanging out with us.
67:11Have fun watching football Wednesday night football tonight. Make sure you set your lineup.
67:14We'll be back tomorrow with a big week one preview for Michael and Field.
67:18My name is Daniel. We love you guys. Don't forget to love each other and be kind to yourself.
67:24We'll see you later. You want to impress them on a first date, but also play it cool.
67:28So what do you do? I'm Rufy Thorpe, and I wrote and read a real love story about a hinge couple that navigated exactly that.
