Insight page

Braelon Allen

PositiveRole73:55

Braylon Allen is drafted as an insurance back for Breece Hall, providing immediate starting value if Hall misses time due to injury.

Insight page

Breece Hall

PositiveValue23:46

Breece Hall fell to the end of the third round, which Mike considers a significant discount given the previous run on running backs.

Insight page

Brock Purdy

PositiveValue47:58

Brock Purdy is described as undervalued and disrespected despite finishing in the top 10 in points per game for three consecutive seasons.

Insight page

CeeDee Lamb

PositiveValue41:00

CeeDee Lamb is considered a strong value at the end of the first round, with Express Delivery emphasizing that he remains an elite difference-maker who should not be overlooked in favor of George Pickens.

Insight page

Chris Olave

PositiveValue22:10

Due to the early run on running backs, Chris Olave is falling to the middle of the third round, which represents good value for drafters.

Insight page

Chris Rodriguez

PositiveRole58:28

Drafted in the 12th round, Chris Rodriguez is viewed as a high-upside pick who could lead the Jaguars in carries and goal-line work within a very good offense.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

NegativeProjection18:57

Field Yates maintains Christian McCaffrey as his top-ranked player, though he has diversified his portfolio by drafting Jonathan Taylor in some leagues to avoid over-exposure.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

PositiveRole24:04

Colston Loveland is considered one of the top four tight ends, and Mike drafted him to secure an edge at the position.

Insight page

Dallas Goedert

PositiveValue66:16

Despite concerns about his contract status and the Eagles' passing efficiency, Dallas Goedert is a value pick as a mid-to-back-end TE1 who has finished top 12 in fantasy points per game for seven consecutive seasons.

Insight page

Dean Connors

PositiveSleeper2:21

Field Yates identifies Dean Connors as the most claimed player following the latest roster cutdown news, signaling high waiver wire interest.

Insight page

Drake Maye

PositiveMatchup52:15

Drake Maye has a favorable mid-season schedule that could allow him to produce significant fantasy points, particularly against weaker defensive opponents.

Insight page

George Kittle

PositiveProjection32:32

George Kittle has been moved up to tight end five by Express Delivery, who notes that despite fake injury reports, Kittle has a real chance to play in the upcoming game in Australia.

Insight page

George Pickens

NegativeValue41:06

While there is recent buzz surrounding George Pickens, Express Delivery maintains that CeeDee Lamb is not inferior to him.

Insight page

Isiah Pacheco

NegativeInjury60:56

Isaiah Pacheco is currently compromised by a knee injury, leading the Lions to keep extra running backs and kick the tires on other options like Kareem Hunt.

Insight page

Jalen McMillan

PositiveBreakout50:21

Jalen McMillan is a target for those fading Chris Godwin, with the potential to emerge as the team's number two wide receiver.

Insight page

Javonte Williams

NegativeValue21:50

Javante Williams is being drafted at 21st overall, which is about a round earlier than expected, contributing to a run on running backs that forces managers to reach.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

PositiveValue39:57

Jalen Warren is identified as a value pick in the eighth round, serving as a necessary third running back for the roster.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

PositiveValue23:40

Mike Clay is high on Jeremiah Love, ranking him ahead of other running backs in his tier. Clay admits he is drafting him aggressively in the second round because he expects him to be gone by his next pick.

Insight page

Joe Burrow

PositiveProjection35:29

Joe Burrow is considered one of the AFC's best bets to lead the NFL in passing yards and touchdowns, making him a strong quarterback target.

Insight page

Jonathan Taylor

PositiveProjection19:15

Field Yates highlights Jonathan Taylor as an elite option who led the NFL in carries last year and has the potential to lead the position in fantasy points if the Colts' offense remains healthy.

Insight page

Jordan Addison

NegativeUsage44:13

Jordan Addison is drafted as a depth wide receiver, with the hope that the Vikings' offense will improve, though Express Delivery admits the pick feels like a dart throw.

Insight page
NegativeUsage77:20

Jordan Addison is an upside dart throw, but there is a desire to see him get Justin Jefferson more involved in the offense.

Insight page

Jordyn Tyson

PositiveValue57:19

Despite being placed on IR and missing at least four games, Jordan Tyson is considered good value in the 11th round of a 12-team league starting three receivers and a flex; the plan is to stash him on IR and utilize the waiver wire.

Insight page

Josh Jacobs

NegativeInjury4:01

Josh Jacobs has been placed on the commissioner's exempt list, which prevents him from practicing or playing. Field Yates anticipates he will miss at least a handful of games, with a potential return timeline extending into December given his November 17th court date.

Insight page
NegativeProjection6:58

Mike Clay has significantly downgraded Josh Jacobs in his rankings, moving him down to RB25. Clay notes the range of outcomes is wide, ranging from missing 4-6 games to being cut by the Packers, and warns that Jacobs is not IR-eligible in ESPN leagues while on the exempt list.

Insight page
NegativeValue35:50

Josh Jacobs' value is difficult to assess due to unique, unsavory circumstances surrounding his availability, making him a wait-and-see player.

Insight page

Keenan Allen

NegativeInjury69:23

Keenan Allen is dealing with off-the-field legal issues involving driving under the influence, which may lead to a suspension, though it is unclear if it will impact the current season.

Insight page

Kyren Williams

NegativeValue21:30

Kyron Williams is being drafted at 18th overall, which is about a round earlier than expected, creating a dynamic where managers feel forced to reach for running backs early.

Insight page

Malik Nabers

NegativeProjection23:02

Malik Nabers has not moved ahead of the third round in drafts due to legitimate concerns, though he still possesses top-five wide receiver upside if he stays healthy.

Insight page

MarShawn Lloyd

PositiveBreakout8:16

Marshawn Lloyd's ADP is spiking following the Josh Jacobs news. Mike Clay has moved him ahead of players like Blake Corum and Kyle Monungay, projecting him as the Packers' lead back for at least a handful of games. Clay ranks him around RB20 for the early weeks.

Insight page
NegativeUsage34:12

There is uncertainty regarding the Packers' backfield usage for Marshawn Lloyd, as the team has not indicated if he is expected to hold down the fort all season.

Insight page

Matthew Stafford

NegativeProjection58:54

While Matthew Stafford finished as QB2 last year, repeating that performance will be difficult; however, he maintains a high ceiling with similar offensive circumstances, though a better defense might reduce his passing volume.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

PositiveValue16:59

Field Yates has moved Puka Nacua up in his rankings, now placing him ahead of Ja'Marr Chase. Yates notes that the lack of disciplinary news by the August 31st roster cutdown deadline suggests a suspension is either unlikely or will be very short.

Insight page

Rashid Shaheed

PositiveUsage54:25

Rashid Shaheed is gaining momentum as the potential number two wide receiver in Seattle.

Insight page

Romeo Doubs

NegativeRole51:11

Romeo Dobbs is characterized as a classic, reliable fantasy bench wide receiver who provides consistent, albeit capped, production.

Insight page

Tank Dell

NegativeInjury45:35

Tank Dell is identified as a player who is automatically out for four weeks due to being placed on injured reserve designated to return.

Insight page
NegativeInjury63:12

Tank Dell is out for at least four games, and the team has been consistent about not rushing him back, potentially opening up opportunities for Xavier Hutchinson.

Insight page

Travis Hunter

NegativeBust44:28

Express Delivery expresses skepticism regarding Travis Hunter's high ADP, noting that he is currently playing almost exclusively on defense, which limits his fantasy offensive upside despite his talent.

Insight page

Tyler Warren

NegativeRole24:44

Tyler Warren is part of the elite four-man tight end tier, and drafters are prioritizing him immediately after Loveland comes off the board to avoid missing out.

0:24We are going to probably start making picks before we start talking about the mock draft, only because we had significant fantasy-related news.
0:31Sorry, real draft, not mock draft, that we'll discuss in just a moment here.
0:35But Mike, you are the busiest man in the world, not named Adam Schefter.
0:38Yeah, I was going to say, I see what you did here.
0:42Okay, so defending champion. Yes. You know, pat myself on the back a little bit.
0:46None of us wanted to say it. And the draft is...
0:49I forgot. I forgot. I don't count for championships.
0:51Oh, yeah, yeah, I didn't count. And you guys chose to do this draft the day after cut day.
0:57Yes. So I was awake at 2 a.m. last night working through all the...
1:00For you guys, make sure your draft room is nice and pretty for you.
1:04Yeah, that's so great. I want you guys to, you know, not be shorthanded because you need the players in order.
1:10Definitely. You don't know the guys, so you have to pick them in order.
1:14So I did all that work. And then you put me in the 12 hole, by the way.
1:19That's right. So you're trying to give me all the disadvantages.
1:22But I'm not here to play. We're all black today.
1:25I'm coming in. Oh, wow. I'm messing around. I know.
1:27I know. You know, I'm short on sleep and all that.
1:30Tough be Mike. I'm not messing around today. You got a big day ahead of you because all the players are now eligible to be claimed.
1:37Oh, yeah. We're not done yet. I'm calling it right now.
1:41Dean Connors, most claimed player. I love that. I'm several hours away from figuring it out.
1:45But let's dive into the news, Dean, because we have big news.
1:48One quick before we get to the news really quickly.
1:51We're going to be doing a bunch of punishment.
1:53What's the word that I'm looking for here? A bunch of punishment polls in our chat on YouTube this week.
1:59So as a part of that, we have three punishments we're going to throw up as a poll in our chat today.
2:05While we do the draft, please vote on them.
2:07We will find out which one is going to be one of the punishments that goes on to our punishment wheel.
2:13The three punishments are wearing Fields Bucky suit for an entire show.
2:16That's kind of a win. Sour starts of the week doing extra super sour stuff.
2:21I watched David Presley research how sour these sour things are.
2:24I am not looking forward to that one. Or fantasy slam poetry.
2:27Those are the three that you're going to be voting on today as a part of it.
2:32So make sure you head into our chat. Shout out to our buddy Eric Moody, at Eric and Moody on social media.
2:38Let's dive into that news that we were talking about here.
2:41Unfortunately, guys, things got a little bit clearer with the Josh Jacobs situation and also quite a bit more muddy at the same time.
2:47Because we know that Josh Jacobs will be going on to the commissioner's exempt list.
2:51Field Yates. Yeah, he will be. And this is not a total surprise given the allegations and the charges from this offseason.
2:57It all stems from an incident that took place in May, allegedly with a woman.
3:02And he is now placed on the commissioner's exempt list.
3:04So here's what we know. The commissioner's exempt list prevents a player from practicing with the team or playing games with a team.
3:11We also know that the commissioner's exempt list does not include a specific amount of time on the list.
3:16Josh Jacobs, in theory, could be removed from the commissioner's exempt list today.
3:19It is obviously not going to be today. It is generally reserved for legal situations that are not only serious enough in
3:25nature, but there seems to be enough clarity that this might be a real legal matter.
3:30And this player is going to likely be subject to discipline, both in the court of law and from the NFL.
3:36There have been recent examples of players that have been placed on the commissioner's exempt list.
3:40By the way, other players around the NFL, Jonathan Cooper from the Broncos, also placed on the exempt list yesterday.
3:45At least five games have been missed. So generally speaking, and based off what we know right now, I am anticipating at
3:52least a handful of games missed for Josh Jacobs.
3:54He is due in court November 17th as part of this legal matter.
3:58The NFL does not need to have a completed legal process to remove a player from the commissioner's exempt list.
4:03It simply must conclude its own investigation into the matter.
4:06So November 17th is important, but it is not.
4:08Hey, he's not going back to court until November 17th.
4:11He's probably going to be out until December. So with how fluid this is then, with what you're saying, we don't have a definitive timeline.
4:18We're still drafting. Mike, have you changed projections given the fact that we don't really know?
4:22Yeah. Oh, yeah. Definitely big adjustments last evening or when this news broke.
4:26So I'm still trying to get more details, obviously, as we are to figure out where exactly we how we want to
4:32project these guys, where we want to rank them.
4:34I think the range of outcomes for for Jacobs at this point is anything from somewhere in the four to six game range.
4:41He misses to being just cut by Green Bay like we just don't know right now.
4:45So we have to hedge a little bit on that.
4:48He's buried in my rankings way down in the mid 20s for now.
4:51I probably will go a little bit lower than that one when the dust truly settles here.
4:56As for Marshawn Lloyd, I will say this. His ADP is really spiking now.
5:00We'll see where he goes in our draft here shortly.
5:03There is a lot of excitement around him. I will say this.
5:06Just remember, this is a former day three pick several years ago has played in one NFL game due to injury.
5:12We don't know how good he is and we don't know if he's going to stay healthy.
5:16They did trade for Caleb Johnson yesterday. They have Chris Brooks, who's a passing down specialist.
5:21That's our core. Now, you and I were talking before the show.
5:24Had they made a bolder move for a running back, we might feel a little bit differently about this situation.
5:30I don't know if they expect Jacobs back at some point.
5:33So they feel like just bringing in Caleb kind of can hold down the four or it means that they believe in
5:39Marshawn Lloyd and think he could be their future lead back.
5:42So, again, there's a lot of things we're trying to balance right now.
5:45At this point, it's a little bit of a lottery.
5:48And, hey, this is a fantasy football draft. And you have to kind of shoot your shot when you're ready.
5:53Here's how I treated it on my end. And obviously, talking about fantasy football in this context is tough.
5:59We're going to get to the draft in a matter of moments.
6:02I moved Josh Jacobs all the way down to running back 25.
6:05I got him behind the players that I think have sort of league winning potential if everything breaks right for them.
6:11That's right. Cam Scadaboo, even Bucky Irving with some recent positive momentum.
6:14Yeah. And ahead of guys, you know what? I just don't really know that I see it.
6:19Sorry. David Montgomery. I'm going to say example of that.
6:22Right? Like David Montgomery, for me, probably can have a solid year.
6:25I don't think it's spectacular the year. For Marshawn Lloyd, I moved him all the way up ahead of running backs that
6:31we are excited about if things work out in their favor, as in injury takes place ahead of them.
6:36Kyle Monungay, Blake Corum. Like, those guys are now behind Marshawn Lloyd for me because I think there's a very real chance
6:42that for at least a handful of games, Marshawn Lloyd is the Packers lead back.
6:46He will be the highest ranked Packers back going into week one when they play Minnesota.
6:51Yeah, sometimes it's as simple as usable games, right?
6:53So you think about a guy like a Corum or even like a J.K.
6:57Dobbins or Monungay. Like, they might be even 1As or starters and be like, I don't really want to put them in my flex.
7:04They're not that exciting. Whereas Marshawn Lloyd, I was looking at the projections for the first few weeks.
7:09Again, with Chris Brooks and Caleb Johnson as his competition, probably going to rank him around 20.
7:13Somewhere in that range. In that range. So that's a usable week.
7:17And we might get four or five usable weeks, maybe a little bit more than that, maybe a little bit less.
7:22But that's more than we could say about a lot of these running backs that are in that flex range.
7:28We will see whether Josh Jacobs gets drafted a handful of rounds lower than usual.
7:32Let's see if it's more than that because we can begin the draft.
7:36Any last week? Quick note. I updated. So I changed our draft room.
7:39We just got this way that I can kind of pull our staff rankings and then built it in a way where
7:45our draft room reflects our staff rankings, which we haven't done in a long time.
7:49Lloyd is ahead of Jacobs if you use our staff rankings.
7:52So if you notice in the draft room, Lloyd is ahead.
7:55One thing to mention as a part of that, with our ESPN game, Josh Jacobs is not IR eligible.
8:01If you draft him right now, a lot of times players that are put on the out list, they are considered IR eligible.
8:07Josh Jacobs is not, given the fact that he's on the commissioner's exempt list.
8:11So when you're drafting, if you want to grab Josh Jacobs thinking, oh, I'll just throw him on IR because he might get the O designation.
8:18That's how it's going to work. This is an odd one.
8:21Usually it's a suspension. This is usually the players are suspended.
8:24This is kind of a unique situation. Commissioner's exempt list.
8:27Exactly. Let's let it rip. Kicking things off. Trophy Smack.
8:29Trophy Smack with the first pick here. Like we said, we've got 12 different players in this league.
8:34Trophy Smack, our producer Zach, me, Eric Moody, Field Jates, Liz Loza, producer Dave, Tyler Fulgham, producer Q, producer Christina, and producer Ryan with Mike Clay.
8:42Bringing up the caboose at the 12 spot there.
8:44Those are the 12 teams for the league. Trophy Smack.
8:47You can let it rip, baby. Anytime you want.
8:49Hey, we did sort of go for a few minutes there on Jack.
8:53Yeah, we did. It's not their fault. Perhaps not aware of the fact that we are getting rolling here, but Trophy Smack may auto draft into Jameer Gibbs.
9:00Trophy Smack, first of all, great company. Been very supportive of the cause here at Fantasy Focus.
9:05They have awesome gear. Go check it out. Trophy Smack.com.
9:08On top of that, he always builds a good team.
9:11Yeah. Like a frustratingly good team. Because then he talks Smack and is like, I'm going to take this belt that I
9:17own until you buy it from me. There you go.
9:19And rub it in your face. Yeah. What's wrong, Mike?
9:22My computer's not working. Oh, no. Perfect timing. Wow.
9:25It's all locked up. For your computer to not work.
9:27Are you joking right now? Trophy Smack. That's all right.
9:30Trophy Smack right now. Jameer Gibbs. There we go.
9:33Jameer Gibbs comes off the board. I think these first two picks are the same every single draft that I've ever done.
9:39Not in the order, but it's always Jameer and Bajan.
9:41I haven't seen anyone other than Jameer or Bajan go.
9:44Nor have I. And Mike has a grand opportunity coming up in five picks.
9:48As Mike's arch nemesis, Tyler Fulgham, is currently on auto draft.
9:51Oh. Which there ain't nothing we're going to do about that.
9:54All right? Like, we have had many messages telling us when this draft is taking place.
9:58It's not a mystery. Tyler's a busy man. He's got a young son.
10:02Hosting SportsCenter. Doing, you know, flying on jets by himself.
10:05By himself. Basically during the fantasy marathon. This could be my fault.
10:08I did say to leave him in space. So maybe.
10:11Wow. Could still be up there. I haven't seen Tyler since that marathon.
10:14I did something that I haven't done so far this year, and it's a real draft.
10:19Okay. I moved Puka Nakua up in my rankings and took him now ahead of Jamar Chase.
10:23I have been worried this entire offseason that I've been waiting for that shoe to drop on Puka potentially having some sort of discipline happen.
10:30Hasn't happened yet. It's August 31st. I mean, we're right there on the doorstep of the season.
10:35I feel like at this point, if we're waiting for Puka to have discipline happen, and it hasn't yet, there's a shot that maybe it doesn't.
10:42I'm starting to move Puka back up my rankings a little bit because of the reason why I had him down.
10:48It doesn't feel as serious as it did a few weeks ago.
10:51I would agree. I think you're right. By the way, we just, no major surprises in the first four picks.
10:57It was Jameer Gibbs, Bijan Robinson, Puka Nakua, Jamar Chase.
10:59I don't think we're out of the woods with Puka yet because the NFL will always reserve the right that if they
11:05get more information or they conclude the rest of investigation, they can suspend a player at any time.
11:10Oh yeah. I had mentioned last week that the NFL often tries to conclude its player suspensions prior to roster cutdowns.
11:16That was yesterday. Nothing on Puka. So not out of the woods.
11:19Correct. We are trending closer to, I believe, either no suspension or a short suspension.
11:24And we have talked about how if it's a one game suspension for Puka Nakua, you could move him down from third
11:30overall to fifth overall, but he's not going from third overall to 23rd overall.
11:33Correct. Correct. Fifth pick for me was, I had the fifth pick.
11:37I've been drafting Christian McCaffrey a lot this year.
11:39And I got to be honest with you guys.
11:42You guys can tell me this is bad analysis, bad ways to do things.
11:46I have like, I haven't done that many drafts yet.
11:48I have many of them over the next 10 days, right?
11:51Yep. I have a lot of Christian McCaffrey exposure that I pivoted to Jonathan Taylor.
11:55Diversification of the portfolio a little bit. That may be bad strategy.
11:59I would say probably just in our seat, in our job.
12:02It's, it's, it's kind of reassuring to have shares of all the notable players.
12:06Mike is such a, can be so emotionless in a good way that it may not matter as much to you.
12:11But I know that sometimes when I'm doing my analysis, it's easier for me to be like, someone's yelling at me about
12:17how bad Ashton Jenthe has been this year. I'm right there with you.
12:21I feel like I took him in the first round as well.
12:24So I don't, my, my overall rankings remain Christian McCaffrey ahead of Jonathan Taylor.
12:28I took JT only because I've got a lot of CMC.
12:31So first of all, poor Tyler times out and get CMC.
12:34Oh man. Must be nice. That's not fair. He should get like Rico Dowdle or something.
12:39That's not cool at all. Second, you know, we talk about this too.
12:42Like it's not as simple as the guys are in exact order.
12:45Like there's a range of outcomes, you know, and we, and there's tears and that's why we build tears.
12:51So, I mean, Jonathan Taylor was like the NFL and carries last year.
12:54He's one of the best players in the NFL.
12:57His numbers would have been even better had Daniel Jones not got hurt.
13:00He very well could lead the position to fantasy points.
13:03I mean, it's not like you're like, ah, I'm not going to take CMC.
13:07I'll settle for Rico Dowdle, right? You're taking another elite option.
13:10Right now, end of the first. Here's what we've had so far.
13:13Since field took Jonathan Taylor, Mike's on the clock here.
13:16We had Amon Ross St. Brown, Jackson Smith and Jigba, CMC, Justin Jefferson, Devon A.
13:20Chan, and then James Cook come off the board.
13:22Only question for you guys, and Mike's going to make his two picks right now.
13:27On a scale of like one being not crazy at all and 10 being like, that's the craziest thing I've ever seen.
13:33Thoughts on Amon Ross ahead of JSN? Amon Ross, no, it's not.
13:36It's totally fine. That's fine. Okay. Yeah. All right.
13:38So you were building a tier. You were putting Amon Ross and JSN in the same tier because Liz did do that
13:44as Mike has drafted Rico Dowdle 12th over. Smart.
13:47I like that. This is a tough spot to pick.
13:50I like that. Rico Dowdle and CeeDee Lamb, that's who you went with, Mike?
13:54That's a good start. I went with CeeDee Lamb.
13:56Good start for you. You know, I hate picking at this spot because I'm starting to run here.
14:01You know, I'm just starting to run. I'm going to take my chance.
14:05Yeah. Brock Bowers. Do the quarterback. Oh, wait. That's a tight end.
14:08That's a tight end. But also that will be.
14:10Hey, Josh Allen, Mike. Nope. This is a money where my mouth is right here.
14:14You're really milking this clock in a major way.
14:17You know what I love? Wow. You know what's funny, Mike?
14:20I was kind of a skeptic on Jeremiah Love at the beginning of the preseason.
14:24Other than CMC, he's probably my highest roster player so far.
14:27And there's a very specific reason for that, which is I have not picked higher than I think fourth so far, maybe fifth.
14:33Yeah. And he just sort of falls into that range.
14:36Right in that range. So if you're picking at 15.
14:39He does not fall into the range where I just picked at 13.
14:42But the problem is this. I don't pick for a long time, which means he's going in the third round.
14:48I'm not going to get him. So I have him ranked ahead of all these other running backs.
14:53And the run is starting. Clearly, you can see it here.
14:56We've had five consecutive running backs now. I knew that was going to happen.
15:00But my thought was all of these guys are going to be gone by the time I come back.
15:05If I want love over this group, I have to take him here.
15:08It's a bold move, but I believe he's going to pay off.
15:12It's a slow start maybe, but I believe he's going to pay this off.
15:16Agreed there. Good luck for you on that. All right.
15:18You want to just keep running us through some picks here, Daniel?
15:22Yeah. Jeremiah Love comes off the board with the first pick of the second round.
15:26Then Chase Brown. Then Omar Ian Hampton. Then Saquon Barkley.
15:29Then Derrick Henry. Then Kyron Williams. And then Ken Walker III.
15:32The running back run is on, my friends. Wow.
15:34Kyron Williams. That's earlier than he's been going for sure.

17:50All right. I'm on the clock here. I took Jonathan Taylor with my first pick.
17:54It's 12 teams. The running back run has begun.
17:56Yeah. I'm taking Ashton Gentry. I think this is about where he deserves to go.
18:00Is that Gentry now goes, that was pick 20 for me.
18:03The early reporting suggests that if Ashton Gentry does miss time, it might be like a game or two.
18:09Right? And I talked about him as a bonus potential bust in the last show that we did.
18:14Right? The idea being the schedule is the most difficult in terms of Mike's projections right now.
18:18But still, too darn good. I actually was choosing between, well, I'm not going to tell you.
18:23Yeah, don't tell us. Because I pick at 29.
18:25And the player that I was also considering might get back to me.
18:29The only part of my draft that I don't, I mean, I guess, obviously, if Gentry misses early time, that would be not as fun.
18:36But I think I can withstand a game absence for him.
18:39Is I just drafted two running backs with a week 13 bye.
18:42Oof. That's all right. That's okay. By the time you get to week 13, you're going to be 12-1.
18:47You won't even need to win, or 11-1. You won't need to win week 13.
18:51Nailed it. Yeah, I'm not worried about that, too.
18:54Especially that late in the year, one may be out with an injury anyway.
18:58Or there's so many things to change. Someone on your bench can pan out.
19:02It's just so not worth worrying about. Heavy right now on the running backs.
19:06Check this out. All right, so Mike took Jeremiah Love with the first pick of the second round.
19:10Chase Brown, Amarion Hampton, Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry, Kyron Williams, Kenneth Walker III, Ashton Janty, Javante Williams.
19:15The first nine picks of the second round. What have we been saying?
19:19You know, your running backs are gone, and they're about gone.
19:22So I got to a spot here. I ended up breaking that mold.
19:25I went with A.J. Brown because I didn't want to just reach for a running back that I felt like I could maybe get here with this pick.
19:33And also... I was going to say, well, did you get the running back that you wanted to take?
19:38Well, we'll find out. Zach's about to take somebody here, and then we'll see if I'm able to get a guy that I like.
19:45I ended up going with A.J. Brown, then Brock Bowers, then Drake London.
19:48We got Trophy Smack on Otto as well here.
19:51So he quickly picked Drake London and Trey McBride.
19:53Good players, obviously, but... I'm going to go with a running back here.
19:57This is the area that's the best area to draft right now.
20:00You're landing one of the top tight. You're going to get a great player at the beginning.
20:05You're going to probably have a shot at Bowers or McBride.
20:08Malik Neighbors has fallen in this range. Usually Jeremiah Love's in this range as well.
20:12It's such a good spot. I've found that I don't love picking toward the end of the draft.
20:17Like the end of the draft, where I like being a little earlier.
20:20Literally, I mean... Just the board falls a little bit better.
20:24I feel like where the tiers drop off late in the first, and then by the time it comes all the way
20:30back at the end of the third round, it's not as good.
20:33Yep, I agree on that. I agree with you.
20:35I ended up taking Travis A. Chan Jr. there at the top of the third as my RB1, just because of how big the running back run went.
20:43I went with two wide receivers first, Puka Nakua and A.J.
20:46Brown. I went with the field strategy because both my wide receivers have a bye in week 11.
20:51It's okay. It's all right. You're going to be 10-0.
20:54That's right. I will field. We've already had enough bye talk for the next week, so that's enough of that.
20:59All right. Moving forward here. So I took George Pickens.
21:02I think that what that second round taught us, this is important, I believe, is, again, we are always, we are trying
21:08our best to give you as much information that applies to all leagues that we can, right?
21:13I think the reality we were reminded of is that so much of draft strategy is not what you plan to do before the draft begins.
21:20Yep. Rather, what you do once the draft has started because I wouldn't have guessed, and I'm not saying these are terrible
21:26picks by any stretch, I wouldn't have guessed that Kyron Williams is going 18th overall.
21:30Agreed. Wouldn't have guessed that Javante Williams is going 21st overall, right?
21:33I would have guessed those guys are going to go maybe about a round later.
21:37But because those guys have gone early, it's created two dynamics.
21:40One, where players like Chris Olave are falling to the middle portion of the third round, which is a good pick there.
21:46Rashi Rice goes late in the third round, so you're getting good value on wide receivers.
21:51You're also feeling the need, but the tug is, hey, if I didn't go with a running back early, if I don't
21:57draft Quinshawn Judkins or Brees Hall right now, I'm going to be starting, I don't even know who, I might be starting Tony Pollard.
22:03It's not going to feel great. That's going to be my second running back.
22:07That's going to be tough right there. That's not great.
22:10All right, we're moving along here. We're already on to the four.
22:13Sorry, last pick of the third. Mike, you're up.
22:16All right, last pick. I'm going to recap while Mike's looking at this really quickly.
22:20Third, just as a reminder, Trey McBride, Malik Neighbors.
22:22Malik Neighbors hasn't moved ahead of the third round yet in our fantasy draft.
22:26I understand that though. Like just there's legitimate concerns.
22:29Still concerned. Yep. Still could be a top five wide receiver if things turn out healthy there.
22:33I took Travis Achan, then Chris Olave, George Pickens, Cam Scadaboo to Liz Loza, Rashi Rice, Nico Collins, Lad McConkie ahead of Garrett Wilson, then Zay Flowers.
22:41And Mike, you went back to back here. What did you do with your picks at the turn?
22:46So Brees Hall fell a lot further than I thought he would.
22:49I know he's going in that three, four range, but I didn't think he'd get all the way to the end of
22:55the third round considering that run on running backs, but there was a wide receiver run and he made it to me.
23:01So I will gladly take that discount on Hall.
23:04And then I had a tough call here. I could have went, I could have went running back receiver or tight end.
23:10There were so many good options, but I really want to get one of the top four tight ends.
23:15I know Tyler Warren's not coming back to me next round.
23:18So I went Colson Loveland, went a little bit of an edge at a tight end.
23:22And I think I get that from him. Like when you say top four, you're talking Trey McBride, Brock Bowers, Colson Loveland and Terrence Ferguson, right?
23:29Those are the four that you're talking about. Presumably.
23:32That's what I was thinking. First quarterback is off the board.
23:35It is Josh Allen. Every time. A little bit different than some of the other leagues that were in.
23:40Quarterbacks coming off the board a little later than some other leagues, but we'll see how this one works out.
23:46And then after that, Emeka Abuka goes to Tyler as well.
23:49Tyler's still in auto. I don't need Tyler getting good picks on auto pick.
23:52Yeah, I almost work. Guys, the guys I was considering there with that second pick were Loveland or McMillan, Smith or Abuka.
23:59And they were three. Those are all the guys that were on.
24:02Yeah, that works out, isn't it? Yeah. After that, DeAndre Swift went to producer Presley, Jalen Waddle over to Liz Loza, and Fields, you're on the clock.
24:09What do you got on your squad right now?
24:12I was going to play with fire right there, but instead I'm going to do something.
24:16I'm going to follow Mike's lead. You son of a gun.
24:19Tyler Warren, because I wasn't confident that Tyler Warren would get back to me in 80s.
24:24He wouldn't have. No, he wouldn't have. No, so Tyler Warren, after Mike made the move for Colston Loveland, and again, there's a trickle down effect, right?
24:31If Mike had bypassed Loveland and he had gone, I'm going to say, air quotes, closer to expected range.
24:36Yeah. It might be that Tyler Warren goes closer to expected range, but I think we all sort of feel that whether
24:42you like Loveland more than Warren or Warren more than Loveland, that the fifth tight end, whether you think that's Kyle Pitts, Harold Fannin Jr.
24:49Maybe you're a big George Kittle optimist, Harold Fannin optimist, that there is a gap, right?
24:53Like, as you just said, that, that four man tier, that gap.
24:57Yes. That if you, so when Loveland comes off the board, if you're thinking about tight end, you better get Warren in a hurry.
25:03I'll be curious to see if the player that I was going to take ends up making back to me eight selections
25:09later, because at this point, the running backs and the wide receivers blur the lines a little bit more, right?
25:15Like the difference, I'll read some of the best available wide receivers.
25:18This is at least how they are ranked T Higgins, Devante Adams, Terry McLaurin, DJ Moore, Jamison Williams, Roma Dunze, not saying
25:24that we don't have those guys in a particular hierarchy, but if I told you at the end of the season that
25:30Roma Dunze outscored Terry McLaurin, you wouldn't be surprised.
25:33And McLaurin's three wide receiver spots ahead of him.
25:35Same goes at running back, right? Basial Tootin just got drafted with Bucky Irving right behind him.
25:40David Montgomery, Jadari and Price. They're all in the, they're all in the range, right?
25:44Similar range. Yep. So I did not feel like Tyler Warren too.
25:47It looks like the next highest, uh, ranked tight end would be Harold Finn.
25:51I felt like that was a bigger gap. And also the wide receivers.
25:55So much more interesting than the running backs at this point.
25:58Oh boy, are they ever a point on why you get your running backs early.
26:02There's some viable potential, like running back to flexes, but not many guys that you're like, it could be an RB one this year.
26:08Like the receivers, that's not the case. Like Devante Adams was top 10 last year.
26:13Roma Dunze, or excuse me, Jameson Williams finished 12th last year.
26:16Like a lot of these guys have a lot of upside.
26:19Yep. They do. Um, Lamar is the what? Second quarterback taken.
26:22Lamar is off the board about seven picks. Um, make that.
26:25Yeah. One, two, three, four, five. I can't do math fast.
26:28Nine picks between Lamar, um, and Josh Allen. Sorry to bring this up, but, uh, Lamar Jackson was auto drafted.
26:33So, uh, perhaps in a different simulation without trophy smack on auto, he wouldn't have gone that high, but comes off the
26:39board at the first pick of the fifth round.
26:42I've got Travis H on the H and Basial tootin Puka Nakua and AJ Brown.
26:46And I'm thinking about going with the third running back here just because of how weak my running back situation is.
26:52Did I see you cringe when Judkins went by the way?
26:55Cause you don't like him. I don't, I don't, but of all the people that was left, that was the guy I
27:01was going to target because I was, you know, this isn't the way I normally draft normally.
27:05I mean, I don't like picking at the very beginning of a draft to be honest.
27:10So maybe we should have traded. yeah, I would have been like, I should have just swapped.
27:14Cause I just, this, so you almost took quinch on Judkins.
27:17If he'd gotten there, he might have. Mike, do you ever go against your own analysis with drafts?
27:22Like, do you ever hedge against yourself? Uh, Tyler's here.
27:25Wow. Thanks Tyler for showing up. It's about time.
27:28give me, give me an example. What do you mean?
27:30I will give you an example. Okay. So, okay.
27:33Can I give you an example? Go for it.
27:35Of course. Just, this is your question. I'm going to be safer from my rankings because my rankings are sort of in
27:41a vacuum and my team isn't built that way.
27:44Sometimes when I draft a team, it's like, Ooh, based on how I've constructed this team, Oh, I know I've got this
27:50guy as wide receiver, whatever, but I need to go with this safer play or I need more upside.
27:55So like, I will ignore my rankings based on how the fluidity of the draft plays out.
28:00Like I've got to kind of change and, and vibe with, with the way that the board plays.
28:05So I definitely will, will draft against my rankings at times.
28:08Okay. Uh, we probably should have said this if we didn't, uh, much earlier in the process, but just of note, three
28:14wide receivers in this, in these, all right. Three wide receivers plus a flex on these rosters.
28:18I just took Bucky Irving. I know that I now have three running backs.
28:22Me too. But with Ashton Gentry uncertain for week one, and just the fact that we're playing with a 12 team league, it could get dicey.
28:29Last thing is, and I'm surprised you guys haven't brought this up yet.
28:33Um, yes, I am playing through maybe the world's worst paper.
28:36I saw it. I saw it. I didn't see that.
28:39Wow. I'm sorry. You didn't see that? Yeah. I mean, again, it's tough.
28:42I know not all heroes wear capes. Sometimes they wear band-aids though.
28:46How'd it happen? Um, my, uh, I was opening up a box of Eggo waffles, which what a great, great.
28:51Yes. Um, and I, yes, sliced it right in the box.
28:54That's too bad. Yeah. That's too bad. Field Jates.
28:57Field Jates questionable. Eggos. That's, I'm going to, I'm going to rip through the fourth round just to catch everybody up on the picks that have been made.
29:04Colson Loveland came through the first pick. Then Tedrow McMillan, Devonta Smith, Josh Allen, Emeka Abuka, DeAndre Swift, Jalen Waddell, Tyler Warren,
29:10Quinchod Judkins, Basial Tootin, Devonta Adams, and Tee Higgins.
29:13That was the end of the fourth, McLaurin, Bucky Irving to Field Jates.
29:16Liz Loza got her guy in David Montgomery, Tony Pollard to Titans fan at producer Presley, Jamison Williams to Tyler, DJ Moore to Q squad.
29:23And now we are on the clock with our, Oh, Roma Dunze to our producer, Christina.
29:28Mike, you're only a pick away. I hate drafting with people that you do a show with every day.
29:33You just get decimated when you're at the turn.
29:35I had a neighborhood league last night and the same thing happened to me.
29:39Really? one of my good friends in the league.
29:42Those kids in Cheshire are ruthless. It's tough. He won last year.
29:45I won the year before we, he beat me in the championship last year and he was picking like four.
29:50We had a couple of keepers too. I was toward the end of the round and he just kept getting, he chased
29:56fell to him at like whatever, four or five came back around, got neighbors at some point.
30:01He got, I think he got a Buka and I'm at the end of the round.
30:05Like tears just kept drying up right before I would pick.
30:08So you're talking about furious, right? The third grader that you were that won last year, Tommy.
30:13Yeah. That's the guy who won the league that you're so frustrated with.
30:17You guys have, I'm on the clock. That you play in, in your hometown.
30:21Yeah, it's tough. You and Tommy just go head to head.
30:24No, I'm mad. I don't want anybody here. Can I pass?
30:27Is that okay? Well, while Mike's looking at this, we got a lot of comments about how much Mike and I don't like each other.
30:33I want to say it one more time. Mike and I actually really are friends.
30:38I feel like people think we don't like each other this year.
30:41I shouldn't have said we actually are friends. We really are friends in real life.
30:45We've been, we've been going at it a little bit.
30:48He's so locked in right now. I think that it's, I think I'm just, when we argue, I'm nicer to you than you are to me.
30:55So because people aren't like, you're mean to Daniel, but I'm like, yes, I am.
30:59No, I mean, I, I have definitely, because of my friends, I'm mean to you.
31:03Like that's the way that it works. We're just talking ball, and people are on both sides.
31:08A lot of sides. That was really interesting. Agreed.
31:10I'm with you on that one. All right. Closing out the fifth round here.
31:14We had some good value here. DJ Moore was the ninth pick of the fifth round.
31:19Then Roma Dunze. Travion Henderson comes off the board.
31:21Mike goes with Fields guy, Carnell Tate. I like that.
31:24And then Marvin Harrison Jr. Yeah. Here's an example of what I probably, to answer your question, you just asked me before,
31:30which is like in a situation like that, where I feel like, you know what?
31:34But all the top tiers just dried up on me, and I'm looking at my board and thinking, I don't want to
31:40just take a safe guy here, like a floor play, the guy that's sort of at his ceiling.
31:45Is this guy like a Cortland Sutton? Michael Pittman.
31:47Like these kind of guys can, yeah, can kind of just hold down the four feet, and they're going to be solid
31:53starters this year, but I feel like I need a little more juice.
31:57I need guys that can exceed the ceiling at this spot, especially because no one just stands out.
32:02If Roma Dunze was there easy, I would have hit that button immediately.
32:05So I'm going to aim for a little higher with Carnell Tate, Marvin Harrison, guys that can exceed where I have them ranked.
32:12So yeah, I'm always maneuvering my game plan within tiers for the most part, depending on what's happening in the draft.
32:18Fair. I like that. I like that. All right, moving along here.
32:21What do we got? Sixth round, Marvin Harrison Jr., then Michael Pittman Jr., Drake May comes off the board, Christina, Rico Dowdle,
32:27then Kyle Pitts, then George Kittle to producer Presley.
32:29Yes, indeed. George Kittle. I thought it'd be interesting.
32:32Adam Schefter with reporting over the weekend, and I feel bad for Schefter in this regard.
32:36There's so many fake accounts now on the internet.
32:39Yeah. That I think one of the imposter accounts or one of the aggregator accounts had a tweet that was like, something
32:45to the effect of like, there's concern that George Kittle suffered a setback according to Adam Schefter.
32:49And the thing is that like, no one bothers to check if Adam Schefter ever said that.
32:54Actually did it. Adam Schefter does TV, he does a podcast, he goes on radio stations.
32:58Yeah. Um, he could have, there are any number of places where Adam Schefter could have talked and someone could have taken
33:05that quote, uh, but doesn't mean that it's a real quote.
33:08Right. and so yesterday he had a tweet that I think may have been in response to some of the, the fake
33:14reporting that like nothing has happened to George Kittle.
33:16And he remains, he has a real chance of playing next Friday, by the way, in Australia.
33:21Unreal. Next Friday. I was going to take him here with the 70th overall pick.
33:25In spite of the fact that he is right now, still his ADP is in the high eighties, low nineties.
33:30It has been creeping up as it seems like we've been getting better and better information on him.
33:35And I was going to draft him ahead of Harold Fannin, because I like the idea of George Kittle more than Harold Fannin in that Browns offense.
33:43Right now, I have moved George Kittle up to my tight end five this season.
33:47Thing that means absolutely nothing, but just sort of caught my interest.
33:50Did you guys see when the Rams are showing up to their, uh, day before the game, 24 hours before the game
33:56starts and the game is at 10 a.m. locally.
33:59So they are basically hanging on until the bitter end in Los Angeles.
34:02Maybe it's the good weather, good food, good weather and the good food, good weather and the good food.
34:07I think maybe is what it is. It'd be a big, our produce one of our producers.
34:12Zach takes Marshawn Lloyd second pick of the seventh round.
34:15Uh, Josh Jacobs remains on the board. As Mike mentioned, he is lower than Marshawn Lloyd.
34:19When you go into the tool right now, um, I don't think anybody, and I think Mike says something that I think
34:25is worth noting is he said, you know, the Packers, uh, didn't give us any indication that like, you know, they expect
34:31this to be like, we don't exactly know what the Packers are expecting.
34:35Cause I think the Packers don't know what they're expecting.
34:38It's a legal matter. It's great of their hands.
34:40Yeah. I mean, Caleb Johnson doesn't, that's not going out and saying, Hey, we need a guy that's going to hold down the fort all season.
34:47I mean, he couldn't get on the field for the Steelers.
34:50Right. Uh, but yeah, it's like a week one healthy scratch by the way, but Caleb, um, or the third returner.
34:56It depends who the, depends who they maybe someone from the practice squad or something.
35:00But, uh, cause usually you're going to have three active tailbacks on, on game day.
35:04It's pretty rare to have less than that, but, yeah, it's, it's hard to tell.
35:08It's either we believe in Marshawn Lloyd, or we don't think this is going to be longterm.
35:13And we just don't know that answer right now.
35:16Seventh round. So far we had Ramond Ray Stevenson come off the board.
35:19Then Marshawn Lloyd. I went with one Dale Robinson.
35:22I wanted one Dale right there. You jerk. Sorry about that.
35:25Kenny Gainwell went to team Moody field. You ended up going with the quarterback though.
35:29I did Joe Burrow. And it's not that Joe Burrow, this is not like dramatically later than Joe Burrow is going, but
35:35you guys know that in these leagues, we do tend to see a lot of patients at quarterback.
35:40We do. Um, another guy I'm sort of underexposed to so far this year, Joe Burrow, you know, amongst probably the AFC's
35:46best bet to lead the NFL in passing yards and passing touchdowns this season.
35:50So Joe Burrow, welcome to the squad. Welcome a lot of swag on this.
35:53Josh Jacobs. There we go. Josh Jacobs finally comes off the board to Q.
35:57It is worth noting Q is a Packers fan.
36:00Yeah. So that is a part of the maybe calculus there.
36:03But yeah, ninth pick of the seventh round in our 12 teamer finally comes off the board.
36:07It's tough to even be able to say if I think that was good value.
36:12Cause I just don't know enough about the situation.
36:14It's kind of a wait and see kind of a thing.
36:17And frankly, it feels a little bit unsavory when it's like, yeah, that could be a great value if he only misses
36:23two games because of the thing, man. You know, obviously it doesn't feel great.
36:27Unique circumstances to say the least. Ooh, I thought about Sutton last round.
36:30So what was that? Yeah. The bus 20 picks or whatever, almost.
36:34And he just went two spots before I picked.
36:36We actually feel that this has been my draft today, which means this will be my best team because I'm, that's right.
36:42That's right. It's terrible. Uh, so which means it's going to turn out great.
36:46Ryan goes with Michael Wilson. If we have your team, Mike, maybe we throw it up here on the screen.
36:52We look at what you could possibly need here.
36:54Where are we at right now in the eighth, seventh round going into the eight.
36:58I need everything. Tim Boyle is your quarterback. That was an interesting choice.
37:02Yikes. Oh, he actually doesn't have a quarterback. Okay.
37:04I kind of like the squad. Jeremiah Love, Brees Hall, CeeDee Lamb, Carnell Tate, Marvin Harrison Jr., Colston Loveland.
37:09That's not a bad squad. You don't like it?
37:12That's not a bad squad. As you know, managing maintenance, repair, and operations is never easy.

38:53It's fine. He's fine. It's fine. All right. I'm going to get some running back.
38:57Mike's in business mode right now. He doesn't want to.
39:00I'm on the clock. I'm going to take Jalen Warren.
39:03I need a third running back. He stands out as a value at this point.
39:07And then I'm going to go back to the wide receiver.
39:10Still so strong right now. I'm going to go back to the wide receiver.
39:14We're well here. And I have a few options.
39:16Yeah, you do. Take your guy. I think so.
39:19I think I'm going to do it. I'm going to take a chance here on Alec Pierce.
39:24You knew it. Guy got paid. And we're shooting for the first pick of the eighth round.
39:28So that would be what? Seven times 12 is 84.
39:31The 85th pick overall is Alec Pierce to Mike.
39:33It's about where I expected him to go. Yeah.
39:36All right. There's my lineup on the screen here.
39:38My question. My main concern right now is Love and Hall are technically both questionable for week one.
39:43And so I do have Jalen Warren that can hold down one of those spots.
39:47And I'll go shopping later for some depth. I would imagine both are going to play, though.
39:52At least one of them should be good. So I think I'll be fine.
39:56Lamb, Tate, Harrison, Pierce. I feel like I drafted none of them, frankly, at their ceiling.
40:00You know, I've been drafting Lamb a lot. I think he's a pretty good value at the end of the first round.
40:06There's been some chatter lately of just about how good Pickens is.
40:10But, man, just don't forget about how good a healthy CeeDee Lamb is.
40:13That guy is an absolute difference maker superstar. I don't believe he's better.
40:17Or I don't believe he's worse than George Pickens by any means.
40:20No, definitely not. Yeah, definitely. I definitely took some risk here.
40:23This thing could go down quickly if guys like Tate and Harrison and Pierce, frankly, don't work out or love start slow.
40:29But, you know, there's a lot of upside here, which is the key.
40:33So CeeDee Lamb, the only pick Mike doesn't regret, field with your team.
40:36I'm kidding, Michael. You are waiting at the quarterback spot, which we have seen you do.
40:41By the way, just in case you're wondering what quarterbacks are still available on the board, Jalen Hurts, Jackson Dart, Justin Herbert,
40:47Caleb Williams, Trevor Lawrence, Brock Purdy, tons of names.
40:49That's why I didn't bother. As much as I like some of these guys, I just can wait.
40:54Again, I did the same thing in my draft yesterday.
40:57I just wait and wait and wait. Like, my next tier of quarterbacks, you know, after Hurts goes, is massive.
41:02Like, I just, there's no reason to force it.
41:05I mean, everyone that doesn't have a quarterback should start taking quarterbacks.
41:08That's right. Yes. That's right. That's right. Taking Justin Herbert.
41:11So important. They're drying up, guys. Get him. I like this.
41:14All right. I'm pick away here with Loza on the clock.
41:17Justin Herbert, one of the producers, takes him. Good pick right there.
41:20I am on the clock here in the eighth round.
41:23And then I'll just say, I'm choosing between several wide receivers because right now I only have two on my roster with
41:29an early tight end and three running backs taken.
41:31So... Ooh, you didn't get Herbert. I'm going to start throwing darts here.
41:35Well, I took Joe Burrow already. So... Oh, you're right.
41:38I'm going to start throwing darts here. And I'm going to begin with Chris Gobbin.
41:42Eric Moody's guy, right? Eric Moody likes Chris Gobbin.
41:44Yes. I thought about Stribling at the turn there.
41:47And Liz Loza just took him. Yeah. Loza was there.
41:50Yeah. Smart. I like that. It's another one with a guy that can easily outperform this ADP as a high ceiling.
41:55Liz Loza... I'm sorry. Dejan Stribling is one of those guys that if you try to wait and get him where his
42:01ADP number says, there's a high likelihood he won't make it to you at any point in the draft.
42:07This is about where he's going. There's enough buzz on him.
42:10Yeah. He also feels like one of those guys, at least in my opinion, that where he's going is the median of his outcomes.
42:16It's not like reflective of what he's not going to...
42:19I don't think he's going to be like wide receiver 33.
42:22It either feels like he'll be a top 20 wide receiver as the Niners go-to guy, or this would be another like
42:28sort of like, I don't know, just overdoing it in the preseason, sort of like Travion Henderson last year, where he has
42:34some moments, but it's Mike Evans and it's Debo Samuel and George Kittle and it's Christian McCaffrey.
42:39If Christian Kirk comes back from this calf injury that landed him on short-term IR, it'll be those guys that kind of
42:45actually are the complexion of this offense week in and week out.
42:48Yep. Let's look at week... Round eight, excuse me, a quick recap here.
42:52Mike had Alec Pierce, like we talked about off the top.
42:55Dak Prescott came off the board next. Then Matthew Golden and Tucker Kraft back to back, a couple of Packers.
43:00Josh Downs to Tyler. Justin Herbert to producer Christina.
43:03We talked about Dijon Stribling, Chris Godwin, Jacoby Myers.
43:05And then I took Sam Laporta. Caleb Williams comes off the board to producer Zach's team.
43:10And then Chuba Hubbard and Jalen Hurts back to back.
43:12So a couple of quarterbacks are coming off the board, Mike.
43:15Are you starting to shake in your boots a little bit?
43:18No, not at all. Still a bazillion left. Still a bazillion.
43:21All right. I also am. I'm going to be very popular in Pennsylvania, which is where Penn State is because I have
43:27three Nittany Lions on my roster as our guy, the great Kyle Soppy just relayed to me.
43:32Parker Washington, Chris Godwin and Tyler Warren. Hashtag we are.
43:35We are. My new name for this team. Love that.
43:38All right. I got a. Can I walk you guys through what I'm trying to do here?
43:42Yeah, please. Of course. Yeah. I got three running backs.
43:45Travis Achan, Basial Tootin and Jadarian Price. Obviously, it's a little bit of a weak spot on my squad.
43:50I love my wide receivers in Puka Nakua, AJ Brown, Wandel Robinson.
43:53Sam Laporta is a serviceable tight end. I do have to worry a little bit.
43:58Probably have to grab a second one because of the injury issues that he's been dealing with.
44:02On the board right now, though, I don't love any of the running backs that I'm looking at.
44:07I don't love any of the wide receivers. And I think I'm just going to have to take a shot on a
44:13guy that I think is going to play a lot.
44:16And that's Jordan Addison, hoping that this Vikings offense starts to do a little bit more.
44:20I just need depth at the wide receiver spot.
44:23And all of these guys I'm looking at, they're all just kind of feel like dart throws.
44:28But Travis Hunter, which I'm not drafting this year.
44:30We even bother with that one? No, I'm not sure why he is being drafted as highly as he is right now.
44:36I think there's a little bit of, you know, they took him two overall.
44:40Like, he's super talented. He is. If they ever turned him into a full-time wide receiver, it's just looking at the circumstances right now.
44:46Unless Brian Thomas Jr. Got traded. Do we really think that's going to happen?
44:50I don't. Yeah. I don't. At this point, like...
44:53Yeah. Plus, there's... I know it's not a huge chunk of leagues, but also IDP leagues.
44:57He's an elite defensive back option because he's going to play on offense and probably...
45:01I think it's going to be like 70-30 defense offense.
45:04Maybe a little higher on defense, but the reports lately are that the last couple of weeks has been pretty much exclusively on defense.
45:11But they're going to find ways to get him some plays on offense, and that's going to add up.
45:16So that really makes it more valuable overall in fantasy.
45:19Amongst the things... So yesterday, during roster cutdowns, I feel like I should have said this when we were talking about Christian Kirk.
45:25The NFL has amended its rules previously. So now you can put a player at the roster cutdown right onto injured reserve designated to return.
45:32A reminder, you're going to have to miss four games.
45:35But amongst the guys that are either on the fantasy radar or somewhat on the fantasy radar, Christian Kirk, Tank Dell, anybody
45:41else that I'm missing that's particularly fantasy relevant that is automatically out for four weeks.
45:45Not that stands out to me. So those are two guys that come to mind.
45:49Not that either one of them is being drafted super high, but just names to know that even if they aren't fantasy
45:55relevant, their absence might create a little bit more fantasy relevance for somebody else.
45:59This doesn't have anything to do with fantasy, but my guy Kirby Joseph is going to be on that list for four weeks.
46:05And Brian Branch. And by the way, we don't have Terian Arnold, who is no longer a part of that team.
46:11I just want to say that the teams playing the Detroit Lions, the beginning of the season, with all of those guys
46:17out for four weeks, you could have some major passing games against the Lions at the start of the season.
46:22Just saying that right now. All right, Mike, you're on the clock right here in the ninth round.
46:27Quick recap of what we had in the ninth.
46:30Jalen Hurts, J.K. Dobbins, Jordan Addison, Jackson Dart, R.J.
46:32Harvey, Trevor Lawrence, Blake Corum, Quinton Johnston, Makai Lemon, Jake Ferguson, and Rashad White.
46:36Mike has 30 seconds on the clock. No, he went with Brock Purdy.
46:40Heard a good pick right there, Mike. Not bad.
46:42Hey, you're going to go with the second quarterback.
46:45He does. He does. He doubles up with two quarterbacks.
46:47Wow. You are nothing if not predictable. Am I?
46:50No, that's not. I did not. I was actually.
46:52I didn't think he was going to do it.
46:55My draft board article, I had Dart and then either Knicks or Purdy.
46:58So you just did both of them. So I did Knicks and I didn't get Dart, so I took Knicks and Purdy.
47:04I like that. Good job on this draft too.
47:07So moving along right now. Well done. Probably helps to have an auto drafter in there.
47:11But move it along right now. I want to hear about the strategy of drafting two quarterbacks back to back, Mike.
47:17Because I think some people might be like, am I really getting good value if I take two quarterbacks within one pick of each other?
47:24Because you only play one after. Yes. I mean, at nine and ten, yes.
47:28I would never do that earlier in the draft.
47:30But yeah, I think that there's a tier that ends at about 15 right around Caleb, Herbert, Mahomes, Stafford, Purdy, Knicks, those kind of guys.
47:37So I don't want really anyone after that. Maybe Kyler Murray after that.
47:41But everyone else is not a guy I'm going to feel super comfortable starting most weeks.
47:45So to get two of those guys and let it kind of ride out.
47:49And if one doesn't pan out, but the other one does, I'm going to be in a great spot.
47:54Remember, Brock Purdy, I feel like those are two of maybe the most disrespected and undervalued quarterbacks.
47:59And the reason they're, I say disrespected, but also like you get it because there's so much depth at quarterback.
48:04But again, Knicks has finished QB seven, two years in a row.
48:08First two seasons of his NFL. He runs the ball well.
48:11And they add Jalen Waddle. And then Purdy has finished top 10 in points per game, three straight seasons.
48:16And so is a pretty good supporting cast. It doesn't help.
48:19I think a lot of people, well, I'm laughing because field took Brandon Aubrey in the 10th round.
48:24How dare you? Every time I do it, Mike reacts less than the time prior.
48:28I know. I just want him to get pissed one time and rip me and be like, you are the dumbest person
48:34to ever be on a fantasy podcast. I mean, it's terrible.
48:37Before Spencer Schrader got hurt last year, he was outscoring.
48:40And then what? This is what we wanted. What I wanted you to say is like, this is a completely irresponsible.
48:45Spencer Schrader is a better pick than this. Yeah, Mason Myers ended up outscoring him.
48:50Do you know the guy you just picked as kicker one has never led kickers in fantasy points in his career yet?
48:56Wow. Same with Jeremiah Love. He's never been a top 10 runner.
48:59I think one of the reasons why. Yeah, but he's actually played.
49:02That argument makes zero sense. One of the reasons why Brock Purdy doesn't get any of the love that I think he
49:08should get is because he does sort of look like the rookie of the year.
49:12Like he still looks like a 13 year old playing football.
49:15Like Henry Rowan Gartner. He does. Who does? Brock Purdy.
49:18Brock Purdy. Yes. He just looks like a kid playing football still.
49:21So there's a shot that like maybe that's why people don't give him as much respect as he deserves.
49:27I ended up going with, we had Travis Kelsey came off the board after that Brandon Aubrey pick.
49:32I went with Xavier Worthy, a little post hype sleeper.
49:34Is it post hype sleeper? Post hype would be Xavier.
49:37Yes. Yes. Because the hype was last year. Hype was last year.
49:40I'm listening to what you've been saying. So that's cool.
49:43That's a thing. Is that, you can't take it.
49:46What did you just say? No, I'm not saying anything anymore.
49:49Nothing anymore. All right. There goes Travis Hunter. There we go.
49:52And then Casey Concepcion. Also. Travis Hunter gets auto-drafted.
49:54Auto-drafted. That's why. Good. That's what you get. This is why you don't auto-draft my friends.
49:58He's too busy putting merch into the mail because they are doing some serious numbers.
50:03A couple guys I was looking at going here.
50:05JCM. I thought about it that last turn. He goes here with the second to last pick in round 10.
50:11And then coming around the other side, same person.
50:13Zach takes Casey Concepcion. Another guy I was looking at.
50:16So. I knew Daniel would do that. Daniel puts his money where his mouth is and takes Jalen McMillan.
50:21Oh my God. I love Jalen McMillan. I don't.
50:23Here's the thing. If Jalen McMillan pans out, I will actually feel bad because I think it will come at the expense of Chris Godwin.
50:30Somebody else. Yes. Oh, Chris Godwin. Got it. Or Emeka Abuka.
50:33But like ideally in my mind, it's him becoming the number two wide receiver because Chris Godwin just doesn't have what he did before.
50:40Yes. And sometimes it's like, yeah, if you're fading Godwin, you naturally would be in on McMillan or maybe you're a Ted
50:46Hurst guy, whatever, whatever it might be. Very much like you're out on CMC.
50:50So you should be thinking, okay, well, if I'm out on him, that probably means he got hurt, which means Kaelin Black
50:56is a guy that I need to draft. Like it all is part of the puzzle.
51:00Mike's looking at my cue for later on in the draft.
51:03No big deal. We had a pair of current or former Packers go after Jalen McMillan.
51:08Jalen Reed first to Jaden Reed, excuse me, to Eric Moody.
51:11And then Romeo Dobbs, I took at pick five of the 11th round.
51:14Um, I think that I'll probably draft Romeo Dobbs forever more.
51:17I mean, like until he's not playing in the NFL.
51:20And I think on every single location, it'll be on my bench.
51:23You think so? I just, I feel like he's the, like, he is a classic fantasy bench wide receiver.
51:29Like we're never going to be hyping him up enough.
51:31Nope. You're like, oh yeah, Romeo Dobbs should be a top 30 wide receiver, but he's good enough that you're like, dude,
51:37like, you know, like week 12, like all those buys are hitting.
51:41Romeo Dobbs, like number two, Pat's wide receiver got $17 million per year.
51:44Like he might go for like seven for 68 that week.
51:47Right. That sounds great. Yeah. He's like fantasy points.
51:50I'm in. It's like wide receiver 54. And then like, let's say AJ Brown's just out for the season.
51:55You'll be like, all right, we'll move them up to like wide receiver 47.
51:59Like you feel like he's just in this, like perfect bench player.
52:02Yeah. But there's no ceiling there at all. He is a, the best.
52:06Patriots seem to think there is one. I was going to say he's the best wide receiver too that Drake may will
52:12have played with in his short career. I would say that's fair.
52:15Cause I mean, Stefan Diggs was the one last year, right?
52:18So I'm starting to formulate, we're doing hot takes later on this week.
52:22And I was starting to formulate some thoughts over the weekend.
52:25I tell you what, Drake Bay is an interesting one because his week one matchup is obviously very tough against the Seahawks who he struggled.
52:31And he did struggle like during the playoffs against real defenses.
52:34But depending on how you feel about some of the defenses thereafter, there's a kind of tasty stretch there for Drake may,
52:41which is all right at Seattle home to Pittsburgh at Jacksonville at Buffalo.
52:44I think Pittsburgh and Jacksonville will be pretty good defensively, but then at Buffalo home to the Raiders home to the jets at the bears at the dolphins.
52:52All those pretty good. Those are that's four nice matchups.
52:55If Micah Parsons is back that a home to green Bay a little bit tougher, but then home to the lions, like
53:01there's some opportunities there for Drake may to really feast.
53:03Yeah. Not excited about that. I was supposed to go to a lions game in new England.
53:08Really? A couple of years ago. Oh, and then you got sick and I hosted fantasy football now.
53:13Oh, that's right. And then the lions lost like 27 to three.
53:16And I'm so glad I did not go to that football game.
53:20Wait, hold on. Wasn't that Dan Campbell's first year as the head coach?
53:23Yeah. It was like, you got me tickets as a gift.
53:26You were a really nice friend. And then you actually, I think you got sick.
53:30I think I got, I think this is what it was in the pandemic.
53:34That's yeah, you did. That's what it was. And next thing you know, it's like the team gets humiliated.
53:39Yes. And then they go on this run to end his first season.
53:43And it's like, all right, all right, all right.
53:45They needed that. That way that loss right there was the humiliation they needed to push them into the lions.
53:51They became today. I remember talking to some buddies around the organization at the end of that year.
53:56And they were like, dude, like just watch out.
53:58Like our, our coach is unbelievable. And I'm sitting there and I'm like, yeah, they finished strong, but like still the lions.
54:04Well, also like they, like they finished strong, but they were what it was like Oh, seven and one.
54:09Yeah. They weren't good. Whatever it was. It wasn't good.
54:12And they're like, just wait because Dan Campbell is the truth.
54:15And Dan Campbell is the truth. Seems like it.
54:18Very much the truth. Yeah. Seems like it. All right.
54:20Quick recap of what we had. Sorry about that.
54:23A little trip down memory lane there. Rest of the 11th round.
54:26I took Jalen McMillan, Jaden Reed, Romeo Dobbs, Rashid Shahid to our girl Liz Loza.
54:30He's been getting some steam as that number two wide receiver there in Seattle.
54:34Zach Charbonnet to producer Presley. Tank Bigsby, Debo Samuel, Woody Marks, and Mark Andrews come off the board.
54:39And Jordan Tyson, last pick. Yeah. The 11th round.
54:42That was me. I was at the turn here and again, I'm shooting for some ceiling at this point in the draft.
54:48And I took two guys that I usually don't pick because they go earlier.
54:52Jordan Tyson obviously was placed on IR. He's going to miss at least four games, but might not be much longer than that.
54:58I feel like this is good value, especially in a 12 team league where we're starting three receivers and a flex.
55:04So I'll gladly throw him on IR and pick up up, pick up someone off waivers.
55:08And then Chris Rodriguez. Again, I've been kind of anti, but going in the 12th round for a guy that could be
55:14the leader in terms of carries and goal line work for a very good Jags offense was too good to pass up,
55:20frankly, at this point in the draft. By the way, still no Stafford.
55:24Still no Mahomes. And Tyler Shuck just went. So those guys are plummeting.
55:27I was going to say that. The idea that Tyler Shuck came off the board in the 12th before either of those two quarterbacks.
55:34Obviously, we know that Matthew Stafford finishes QB two last year as a non-rushing quarterback.
55:38Yep. For him to actually repeat that is going to be unbelievably difficult.
55:41Well, we've seen that he has that ceiling and the offensive circumstances are very similar.
55:46The defense is a lot better. So he might not have to throw quite as much.
55:50But, you know, and then Patrick Mahomes still there as well.
55:53We know he doesn't have any upside, right? So none of these guys.
55:57Yeah. I just let him know he was on the clock.
56:00That was all. I'm thinking about Matthew Stafford, by the way.
56:03Oh, no upside. Garbage. No, I mean, that's great value.
56:05At this point, right. I took Joe Burrow early, but just like, you know.
56:09I could have, in hindsight, taken Knicks or Purdy and waited even longer.
56:13But honestly, with what's available at all the other positions, we're now at the point where the ADP doesn't matter much.
56:19No, ADP doesn't. There's a huge cluster of players.
56:21I don't regret anything at this point. This is the part of the draft.
56:25I'm glad you said that, Mike. Where ADP shouldn't matter.
56:28You should have identified. I don't want to make it sound aggressive.
56:31But you should identify going into the tail end of drafts.
56:34Guys that you are in on. I want to take dart throws at these handful of people because I like the situation.
56:40You've built a narrative. Hey, if this happens, this guy could be, you know, massively outperform where he's being drafted.
56:45I'm with you, Mike. I try not to get caught up on ADP in the 12th round of a 12-team draft.
56:51Really agree. Yep. Just grab the guys you want.
56:54Kayshawn Booty comes off the board here to Eric Moody.
56:56I'm going to go with my backup running back, both in real life and now in fantasy football, Isaiah Pacheco, if anything happens to Jameer Gibbs.
57:04Jacob's, who's the guy they signed? Jacob's Sailors. Here we go.
57:07Jacob's Sailors looked sick in that third preseason game.
57:09Dan Campbell had a question, had a comment that was like, yeah, we're comfortable with him as RB2 because I do believe
57:15that Pacheco is still compromised with that knee injury, right?
57:18Yes, he is. But you're built, this is your backup, so it's probably not that big.
57:22Yeah, they kept a lot of running backs too.
57:25That felt like, I read that quote. It was kind of just like, he wasn't going to be like, no, we don't like our guy.
57:32Like, you know, it was supporting your players. Yes.
57:34But they did keep him on the 53 and Vakie as well.
57:37Yep. Yoni Vakie. They also brought in Kareem Hunt for a little bit of a tryout.
57:42I don't think he signed with the team, but like they were clearly kicking the tires on a couple of guys there.
57:48Pacheco not fully healthy. Yes, exactly. For sure. So, yeah.
57:51All right. I'm back on the clock after I took Pacheco, Brian Robinson Jr., the Texans, Cameron Dicker, and Mike Washington off the board.
57:57By the way, that booty pick just, that Kayshawn booty pick that was just made.
58:01I was talking about your team, but then I switched to talking about Kaysha booty.
58:05See what I did there? Patrick Mahomes off the board.
58:08Tank Dell. I don't know if we're going to see him for quite a while.
58:12Yeah. It looked like he was trending the right way, but he's at least out for four games.
58:17I don't know if we're going to see him.
58:20They keep saying, the one thing that they have been very consistent with is like, we are not rushing Tank Dell back.
58:26Yeah. And they have some options there. You know, of course they do.
58:29Yeah. Xavier Hutchinson. I mean, he played a lot last year and he might be even their four if they went around
58:35with Jalen Noel booty and, and, uh, Nico Collins.
58:38So they've a lot of eyes. Me if Hutchinson's the two at the beginning.
58:42Yeah. I think at the beginning, I think he maybe, yeah, I think I did this and I made it bad for everyone.
58:48I called him great pick there by a Caitlin black by team Moody.
58:52Uh, I called him Jalen Noel. I think it, I'm pretty sure field.
58:55You've told me it's Jalen Noel. I said Noel because of the Christmas thing in my head.
59:00I just can't not see the word N O E L.
59:03And I think, yes, exactly. I do think it is Jalen Noel.
59:06Um, I, I, they have a lot of wide receivers there now.
59:09Jalen A Chan. Sorry. I'll do that a hundred times.
59:12That was good. That was a good joke. Field did field one with a defense field grabbed the Seahawks here in the 13th round.
59:19I just can't get Mike to bite. I'm trying and trying and trying again.
59:23I'm typing Jalen Noel pronunciation. Let's take a look at your lineup.
59:26It is. Yeah. My line. Okay. Here we go.
59:28What do you got so far on your squad?
59:31All right. So keep in mind that I had the fifth overall pick.
59:34Yep. Jonathan Taylor, Ashton Gentry, my two starting running backs.
59:37Noel. My three wide receivers, George Pickens, Parker Washington, Chris Godwin.
59:40My quarterback is Joe Burrow. My tight end is Tyler Warren.
59:43Bucky Irving. My current flex, obviously subject to change.
59:46Right now my bench has RJ Harvey. So I've got four, I think at three and a half usable running backs, Romeo
59:52Dobbs, Matthew Stafford with the Seahawks defense. And Brandon Aubrey is my kicker.
59:55I'm going to spoil it right now. I will be drafting three wide receivers with my final three bench spots.
60:01I just think that at this point, the potential dart throws at wide receiver far outshine any of the running backs.
60:07Far, far outshine. Agreed. Is JK Dobbins the half a running back just because he's 5'7"?
60:11Mine was RJ Harvey's. I know. You said you have three and a half of running backs.
60:16Right. Yes. Half as in like, I'm not actually confident that I can use him.
60:20Got it. That's the half. When you have three running backs, you don't really have one.
60:24Right. You know, it's interesting. The Browns have three quarterbacks and one on injured reserved right now.
60:29Does that mean they don't have any quarterbacks? The Browns did put Dylan Gabriel on injured reserve.
60:33Did I miss something? Did you guys see him get hurt?
60:36I did. During the last game? I think the report was he had a back injury.
60:41He was battling through and then he's been carrying the team that whole time.
60:45That's why. Then they decided that he had a roster gymnastics injury.
60:48That's what it was. Is that what it was?
60:50That's what it was. That's really interesting. I did not know that.
60:54I was going to say that one caught me by surprise yesterday.
60:57Yeah. All right. Here we go. Wow. 13th round, other than when I took Patrick Mahomes, is dart throw alley because I started Cameron Dicker, Mike Washington Jr.
61:05I took Patty Mahomes, superstar quarterback. You got a first name basis?
61:08Yeah. Him and I are. Well, you know, we work on it.
61:11Then Kalen Black, Seahawks defense, Jacoby Lane, Chris Bell, Adonai Mitchell, Denzel Boston, Keaton Mitchell.
61:15This is big time. I mean, and then Mike goes, and then we have Jalen Naylor.
61:20And now Mike is on the clock for back to back picks.
61:23This is part of being in a 12 team draft as we do, especially here at ESPN with the way our game is set up.
61:30Yeah. We do a lot of 10 team drafts.
61:32Yep. Adding those extra two teams. That means that's 24 more players from the player pool that comes off the board.
61:38Yep. And you definitely see it here in these rounds before you get to your kicker and defense, unless you feel Jates
61:44in which you've already drafted your kicker and defense.
61:47No big deal. But then again, I'm not competing with anybody.
61:50That's true. That's true. Mike's still on the clock.
61:52Mike can't multitask. When he drafts, he drafts. So he's locked in right now.
61:56He took Dallas Goddard. Yeah. He fell really far and I wanted to go maybe more upside there.
62:01But at the same time, I just, I can't pass on a guy.
62:05That's probably going to be a mid to back end tight end one in a 12 team league with one of my last picks of the draft.
62:12I can't believe how far he fell. There's a little bit of concern or there was at least in April when this
62:18team drafted a potential tight end to take over knowing that this is the last year of Dallas Goddard's contract.
62:24It doesn't feel like though we're in that same situation where we're that worried about it right now for 2026.
62:29He is no one is a bust at this point for sure, but he's always going.
62:33Yes, he's always. I would guess healthy scratch week one.
62:36Johnny Munt is there to right. Craig Alcaterra is on IR as well.
62:40So they're a little beat up a tight end.
62:42I wouldn't be surprised if they look at some depth options there.
62:46We're gonna have a lot of that today on waivers, but I don't think Stowers is anywhere close to being an impact player.
62:52By the way, I did look this up. The most recent post on X from Jalen Knoll is for people who don't know yet.
62:58My last name is pronounced like Knoll had this question a lot lately.
63:02Jalen Knoll. I love that. N-O-L-E. Yeah. Well, yeah, but Mike didn't trust us.
63:06So he had to go to Twitter because that's where all of the accurate information.
63:10I was just making. Well, there was still some uncertainty there.
63:13So I was just. I love that. How about we recap 13th.
63:16Excuse me. The 14th round here right now. My God.
63:19Braylon Allen, first pick of the 14th round. Then Brenton Strange, Trey Tucker, Keenan Allen.
63:23Keenan Allen, unfortunately dealing with an off the field issue right now as well.
63:27Something to keep an eye on. Keenan Allen, he was arrested on Sunday morning for driving charges.
63:32Yeah. That's under the influence. Not good. Yeah. Nope.
63:34Yeah. That might take a while to sort that out.
63:37I don't even know if it'll happen this year.
63:39He might be retired by the time this sorts itself out, but certainly he'll be, you would imagine would be suspended.
63:45But again, that may not happen this season. Other players we're still waiting on.
63:49Keenan Allen would be one. Rashad Bateman, Puka Nakua amongst the players that have had off field charges that are still being
63:55vetted by the league for potential punishment. Yep. I'm going to go with my favorite tight end left on the board right now here.
64:02Hey. Parents Ferguson. That's my brain on that last pick was, do I go Goddard or Ferguson?
64:06But I think my hope is that Ferguson will be as good as Goddard.
64:10So I'm like, why don't I just take Goddard at that point?
64:13Maybe Ferguson's ceiling is a little higher, but I don't know if that's true.
64:17Goddard was, I know the touchdowns are going to come back to earth, but he's still going to handle 20% of the targets in a good Eagles offense.
64:25So what is with, like, what is with the Goddard?
64:28Hey, like, I feel like it's gone too far at this point.
64:31I think it's probably a lot exciting, right? Yeah, that's it.
64:34He's just one of them bland picks. But I feel like at some point this year, I'll either start him or trade
64:40him to a team that's struggling at tight end when he's, like, sitting there at tight end seven or something.
64:46That's fine. I don't think the hate is about Dallas Goddard himself.
64:49I think there is concern that Jalen Hurts, passing efficiency, not great, loses A.J.
64:53Brown. You now have six guys you're going to replace A.J.
64:56Brown with, with all the people they added in that offense.
64:59And I think more it's the idea of a passing game, a passing attack that is led by Hurts more than it is, like, Dallas Goddard isn't good.
65:06We've seen Dallas Goddard. I guess so. Be a really good tight end in the league.
65:11Is he the Nico Collins of tight ends? Maybe.
65:13He's finished top 12 in fantasy points per game at tight ends.
65:17Seven consecutive seasons has Dallas Goddard. He always misses a couple games like Nico Collins.
65:21But when he's active, he's super useful in fantasy.
65:23We're down to the nitty here. Yeah, here we are.
65:26Nitty gritty. Fields, you're going with a couple of wide receivers, though, you told us.
65:30Yes. Who are your late round targets? Devon Bailey, Jawan Jennings, and then my last one.
65:34We'll see. Jawan Jennings, he's going to be the wide receiver three at worst in Minnesota.
65:39That's funny to get there. Obviously, Kyler Murray, we're trying to get him back.
65:43We're trying to get Justin Jefferson back on track.
65:45That's our primary focus. If that's what it takes, if Jawan Jennings has zero catches this year, but Justin Jefferson has 500, I'll be a happy man.
65:53Me too. 500 catches? It might be a little bit over the top.
65:56That would be a good one, my friends. All right.
65:59Yeah, this round is basically defenses and kickers for what it's worth.
66:02Not a lot to be able to go through.
66:05Daniel Jones came off at the first pick of the 15th round.
66:08Rams, Broncos, Ravens, Jawan Jennings, Steelers, Eagles, Jags, Jason Myers, and the Patriots come off the board, almost wrapping up the 15th round here.
66:15We got Ryan and Mike Clay still left on the clock.
66:18Mike, do you just need a kicker and a defense?
66:20Is that where you're at? I sure do. Okay.
66:23Yeah, it's going to make this nice and simple here.
66:26You don't have to worry about who fell, who do I think I'm maybe still getting good value on.
66:31It's just the best kicker, best defense available on the board.
66:34Yeah, final round. Should we start a little – Do you guys want to go through our teams while we're getting through the final round?
66:41Oh, that's not a bad idea. Actually, if Mike picks both of his here, we can just start with his team because
66:47he'll be – I can do that. Yeah, he'll be wrapped up.
66:50Chargers, good week one matchup against Arizona. And then I will take a kicker.
66:54Oh, man, look, the highest kicker is Fairbairn, so I have to take him.
66:58But Harrison Mevis sitting there as well. So this is a – I'm going to have to use up all the time, guys.
67:04How – Nerd! How dare you? I need to think this.
67:07Nerd! No, I picked Fairbairn, so I'm set. My team is done.
67:10On the screen. Okay, so I'm going by committee.
67:13A quarterback will play the matchups. Brock Purdy and Bo Nix are my options.
67:17So Purdy's playing the Rams in week one, right?
67:19Sure is, yeah. So I might go against him and go with – Nix has the Chiefs.
67:24Monday Night Football. Yeah, so probably go on Bo Nix in week one.
67:27See, got to play the matchups. Got to stream.
67:30Running backs, Jeremiah Love and Brees Hall. Wide receiver, CeeDee Lamb.
67:33And then we get some upside youngsters here. Carnell Tate, Marvin Harrison.
67:36We've got Colson Loveland at tight end. Jalen Warren is in the flex.
67:40And then on the bench, Alec Pierce, Jordan Tyson.
67:42He's going right to IR. You can pick somebody up.
67:45Yep. Chris Rodriguez, Dallas Godair, Braylon Allen. Braylon Allen, usually I will take a different insurance back from who I have.
67:51I thought this was a unique situation where I have Brees Hall, and if there's a setback and he needs a week
67:57or two, then I have Braylon Allen ready to go.
67:59I didn't want to take a chance there. So I did take Braylon Allen.
68:03I don't know if I'll keep him on the roster long term, but for now he's going to – he'll be a starter if Hall's out week one.
68:11There you go. Moving along here. How about you, Field Jades?
68:14My team as follows. We'll go quarterback to the last spot on the bench.
68:18Joe Burrows, my QB, with Jonathan Taylor and Astro and Genti, two workhorses as my RB1 and 2.
68:23George Pickens, Parker Washington, and Chris Godwin, my three starting wide receivers.
68:26Need Parker Washington to meet the hype. Need Chris Godwin to find the fountain of youth.
68:30Tyler Warren, and then my flex currently is Bucky Irving.
68:33That could be adjusted with my bench being made up of R.J.
68:37Harvey, Romeo Dobbs, Matthew Stafford as my quarterback lottery ticket.
68:39I've got Joe Burrow. Don't really need him. Devon Vele, Jawan Jennings, Caleb Douglas.
68:43Those are kind of my dart throws at wide receiver.
68:46Would love if one of those panned out. Douglas was my final pick.
68:49With the Seahawks and Brandon Aubrey. So I've got defense one and kicker one.
68:53Love that. Wow. Wow. Okay. I think you're looking at your team.
68:57What's that? Oh, kicker one defense one? There you go.
68:59There you go. I don't care. I'm looking at the actual board.
69:03I've got a B on my show grade. Yeah, we can go.
69:06All right. Oh, yeah. There it is. Let's see.
69:08I've got a B as well. You know what?
69:11It's interesting. I have to find this out. Now that we're using, like, I don't know how these are formulated, if it's using the ranks or the projections.
69:19So I need to look at that. But yeah.
69:21Look at Daniel's lineup. I will say this though.
69:23The auto draft team got an A because it just followed the board and didn't get to the first pick.
69:29I just want to say this about your team really quick.
69:32Your wide receiver two and three are two guys that feel like they're on the opposite side of the spectrum in terms
69:38of, like, Parker Washington is the exciting guy you want to reach for.
69:42The breakout player. There's a journey. But everyone wants a piece of him.
69:45And then Chris Godwin's the guy that's like, ah, he's older now and fading.
69:49And no one wants anything. Totally. 100%. I love this.
69:52This is ordered, though, in teams of, like, the highest strength B to the lowest strength B, right?
69:57That's the way that it's done. So I had the highest strength B squad on our draft, which is not normally the
70:03thing that Mike Clay does for me. Normally I'm a C draft.
70:06So I'm excited about this. I'm going to tell you guys my team.
70:10The more you copy my work, the more your teams are going to be better, you know?
70:14I hear you. That's how it works. I hear you, Michael.
70:17Here's my squad. I want to start at the top.
70:20Jaden Daniels as my QB1. I actually also ended up taking Patrick Mahomes.
70:24That's my QB2 just because he was on the board.
70:26Let's see if we can capture lightning in a bottle a second time.
70:30Travis Achan, Basial Tootin, and Jadarian Price are my top three running backs.
70:34My wide receivers are Puka Nakua, A.J. Brown, Wandel Robinson.
70:36My tight end is Sam Laporta. My bench is full of some upside dart throws.
70:40Jordan Addison, we've seen him do some things, although I'm kind of with field.
70:44I just want to see him get Justin Jefferson involved.
70:47But I would like Jordan Addison. We've seen him do as a former number one pick in this league.
70:52Xavier Worthy, another dart throw. Hoping that Patrick Mahomes can reestablish a connection with him.
70:56Jalen McMillan, you guys have heard me talk about him all offseason long.
71:00Isaiah Pacheco as an insurance back in case anything happens to Jameer Gibbs.
71:03And Terrence Ferguson as my second tight end because Sam Laporta has been dealing with some injury issues the last couple seasons of his career.
71:10So I just wanted to have a guy already on my bench.
71:14I dig it. Broncos and Chase McLaughlin. Cool. All right.
71:16And last but not least, let's look at Eric Moody's.
71:19Why not? Why not? Shout out to our buddy Eric Moody.
71:22Follow him in chat. Always do. At Eric and Moody.
71:25We love all of you. I'm already mad. I'm already mad.
71:28Eric Moody. Jackson Dart. Javante Williams. Quinchaw Judkins with Jamar Chase.
71:31Chris Olave. Terry McLaurin. Travis Kelsey at the tight end spot.
71:34Took Jonathan Brooks as the flex. Another really good running back here on his bench.
71:38Kenny Gainwell with Jacoby Myers. Jaden Reed. Keishon Booty.
71:41Kaelin Black. Baker Mayfield as his QB2. The idea that Baker Mayfield is his QB2 at the end of drafts.
71:46Another reason why you can wait in the quarterback spot.
71:49Plus the Ravens defense. And Eddie Pinheiro. Like him.
71:51So Eric Moody is projected to finish second in the league.
71:54Whoa! This is actually great for content here. The projected standings are Eric Moody.
71:58I'm sorry. Trophy Smack. Who had the first pick.
72:01Then Moody. Then me. Then Daniel. Christina. Mike. Quinton.
72:03Zach. Loza. Tenth is Tyler. You love that. Yeah.
72:06Ryan. One of our producers. And producer Dave. Our.
72:08Oh, Dave. Dave Presley. You're ready for your punishment.
72:10Those things always finish exactly. Exactly how they play out.
72:13It's already settled. No doubt. That's right. Oh, man.
72:16Hey, very exciting to be able to do this.
72:18We are so much closer to draft season being here.
72:21And this wasn't a mock. This was a real draft.
72:24We do, in fact, have a mock here at ESPN as well later today.
72:27One o'clock, yeah. If you are a sicko and just want more drafts, we got it coming your way.
72:33We'll be back tomorrow with even more fun stuff here on Fantasy Focus from Mike Clay.
72:37You got it. Field Jates. My name is Daniel Dopp.
72:40Don't forget to love each other. Be kind to yourself.
72:43And be careful with your pinkies. They're very small.
72:45We love you guys. We'll see you later. All right, Tyson, right to IR.
72:49Makes it everybody forget.
