Antonio Williams

NegativeUsage38:26

Despite a 4-64-1 stat line, Antonio Williams is not a recommended season-long add because he only ran 10 pass routes (fourth among receivers). He would need an injury to Terry McLaurin or Stefon Diggs to enter the flex conversation.

Insight page

Bryce Young

NegativeBust12:31

Despite a 31.4-point performance, Mike Clay advises against targeting Bryce Young on waivers. His history shows extreme inconsistency with frequent 'peaks and valleys,' and his rushing touchdown in this game is viewed as fluky.

Insight page

Caleb Douglas

NegativeValue37:07

Caleb Douglas is a secondary waiver target behind Jalen Coker, with the source suggesting an $8 FAAB bid. There is concern about the overall offense, and it is unclear if he will reach weekly flex or WR3 status.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout55:42

Douglas is a top waiver target after a 5-94-0 debut. His 26% target share and historical rookie production (comparable to Puka Nacua and Ja'Marr Chase) make him a high-upside add. He played 45 of 50 snaps and is a recommended bench stash in 84% of leagues.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

PositiveProjection35:33

The source remains confident in McCaffrey as the primary back in San Francisco despite his limited Week 1 usage, which was attributed to pre-game cramps. He is expected to see his workload increase throughout the season.

Insight page
NegativeInjury55:19

Christian McCaffrey was a Week 1 disaster for the source's knockout league team.

Insight page
PositiveProjection91:56

Despite a disappointing Week 1 performance in a knockout league, the source maintains that Christian McCaffrey is a high-value asset with a favorable Week 2 matchup against Miami.

Insight page

Cole Kmet

PositiveValue53:14

Cole Kmet was a successful 'Fund of the Week' pick, finding the end zone in Week 1. He is rostered in less than 1% of leagues.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

PositiveValue97:14

The source anticipates that Colston Loveland will be among the notable players hitting the waiver wire in knockout leagues following Week 1 eliminations.

Insight page

David Njoku

NegativeUsage47:04

David Njoku led Chargers tight ends in snaps (57%) and routes in Week 1. He is a TE2 stash but not currently startable. He is not a priority waiver add.

Insight page

Denzel Boston

NegativeUsage39:31

Denzel Boston led the Browns in snaps and routes (24) in Week 1, but the source remains skeptical due to Deshaun Watson's poor play. He is a bench stash, but Casey Concepcion is the preferred Browns receiver due to manufactured touches.

Insight page

DeVonta Smith

PositiveProjection50:34

The source advises against panicking on DeVonta Smith. He is expected to have a big target share and be featured in the Eagles' offense, though his value might be a trade-away candidate during the fantasy playoffs due to a tough schedule.

Insight page

Drake London

PositiveProjection51:26

Drake London's fantasy outlook for Week 2 is concerning if Cooper Rush remains the quarterback, as Rush failed to target him effectively. The source would move him down rankings if Rush starts, but does not advise panicking long-term.

Insight page

Drake Maye

NegativeValue97:25

Drake Maye is noted as a quality player who will become available on waiver wires in knockout leagues after being on teams that were eliminated in Week 1.

Insight page

Evan Engram

NegativeValue7:29

Evan Ingram saw increased playing time compared to last year, recording four catches for 43 yards and a touchdown. While Mike Clay remains pessimistic due to his irrelevance last season, he is a viable streaming option in 12-team leagues.

Insight page

Jalen Coker

PositiveValue36:49

Jalen Coker is a priority waiver wire add, though the source suggests not getting carried away with FAAB, recommending a 15% bid ($15 of $100) as he likely caps out as a WR3.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout38:34

Coker is a priority waiver add after a massive 33.8-point performance. He is cemented as the Panthers' WR2 and is a borderline top-30 option. While his production is tied to Bryce Young's performance, his recent trend of 16+ fantasy points in three straight games suggests legitimate upside.

Insight page

James Cook

NegativeValue97:25

James Cook is identified as a high-quality player who will be available on waiver wires in knockout leagues following Week 1 eliminations.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

PositiveRole31:53

The source views Love as the superior talent in the Cardinals' backfield, noting he looks 'awesome' and should see his role increase as games become more competitive. While Allgeier led in carries in Week 1, Love led in routes (14-12) and targets (4-2), signaling his importance in the passing game.

Insight page

Jonah Coleman

NegativeDepth Chart8:54

Jonah Coleman played only three snaps and is considered an insurance option at best; fantasy managers can safely drop him.

Insight page

Jordan Love

NegativeProjection16:20

Jordan Love is not a recommended waiver add as he remains a non-factor with his legs and has struggled to consistently produce top-15 fantasy weeks. He is viewed as a mid-range QB2, even with a matchup against the Jets.

Insight page

Kalen Ballage

NegativeValue35:33

Ballage is a bench-only asset who lacks standalone value. His Week 1 usage was inflated by Christian McCaffrey dealing with cramps. While he should be rostered as an insurance option, he is not a recommended start, and the source expects McCaffrey's workload to increase as the season progresses.

Insight page
PositiveValue93:45

The source identifies Kalen Ballage as a potential waiver wire target in knockout leagues, noting he might be available for free due to being on a team that was eliminated.

Insight page

Kalif Raymond

NegativeBust51:48

Raymond is a career depth player who should not be a priority for FAAB. While he led the Bears in receiving in Week 1, the source notes he has never exceeded 652 scrimmage yards in a season and is buried behind multiple other options in the Chicago offense.

Insight page

Kendrick Bourne

PositiveBust47:12

Despite a 21% target share in Week 1, Bourne is not a recommended waiver add. He is 31 years old and has never been a consistent fantasy contributor. The source views his Week 1 performance as an outlier and expects his role to diminish given the other options in the Cardinals' offense.

Insight page

Kenyon Sadiq

PositiveBreakout44:29

Kenyon Sadiq is a top-five waiver priority. He played 41% of snaps and 46% of routes in Week 1 despite missing off-season time. As a first-round pick with massive receiving upside, he is a recommended bench stash for upside.

Insight page

Marvin Harrison Jr.

PositiveProjection50:13

The source remains high on Harrison Jr. despite a quiet Week 1. They point to his track record from last season, where he averaged 14 fantasy points per game alongside Michael Wilson and Trey McBride, and expect him to bounce back.

Insight page

Matthew Stafford

PositiveProjection96:53

The source asserts that Matthew Stafford's 4.1-point performance in Week 1 is an outlier and he will not have another game that poor for the remainder of the season.

Insight page

Mike Gesicki

NegativeBust46:23

The source advises against adding Mike Gesicki, noting he played only 33% of snaps and has historically struggled to produce fantasy value in this offense.

Insight page

Pat Bryant

NegativeUsage7:44

Pat Bryant led the Broncos in targets (six) and receptions (four for 42 yards), but he played only 57% of snaps compared to the 70% share for Cortland Sutton and Jalen Waddle. He is clearly the WR3 and should not be expected to lead the team in targets every week.

Insight page

Pat Freiermuth

PositiveRole48:06

Pat Freiermuth is an interesting TE2 option who is trending in the right direction. His route participation increased from 54% last year to 72% in Week 1, suggesting he could re-enter the TE1 conversation.

Insight page

Patrick Mahomes

PositiveUsage4:44

Patrick Mahomes showed encouraging signs as a runner, recording seven carries for 23 yards and a touchdown, including three scrambles. This performance alleviates concerns about his mobility following his late-season ACL injury, and he is viewed as a back-end QB1 moving forward.

Insight page

Quentin Johnston

NegativeProjection92:27

Quinton Johnston failed to deliver on expectations for a long reception in Week 1, leading to a disappointing fantasy output.

Insight page

Rashee Rice

NegativeUsage5:24

Rasheed Rice had a quiet day with only two targets, catching two passes for 19 yards and a touchdown. While the low volume was a result of the game plan, he remains a startable asset alongside Xavier Worthy.

Insight page
NegativeUsage92:16

The source expresses disappointment with Rashee Rice's usage, noting he only received two targets in the Week 1 game, despite managing to find the end zone.

Insight page

RJ Harvey

NegativeUsage8:41

RJ Harvey led the Broncos backfield in snaps (25 to 19) over JK Dobbins, serving as the primary option in passing situations, while Dobbins remains the primary ball carrier. Both are considered 'dead zone' fantasy assets.

Insight page

Travis Kelce

NegativeUsage6:02

Travis Kelce finished with 10.1 fantasy points, with the bulk of his production coming from a single 60-yard reception. He remains a key part of the offense despite the team's run-heavy approach in this matchup.

Insight page

Tyler Allgeier

NegativeUsage31:38

Despite leading the backfield with 17 carries and 46 snaps, Allgeier lacks standalone fantasy value. He is strictly an insurance back for Jeremiah Love, and his upcoming matchup against Seattle is difficult. While he holds value as a bench stash, he is unlikely to be startable unless Love misses time.

0:41What's up, friends? Welcome into Fantasy Focus alongside Mike Clay.
0:44My name is Daniel Dopp because Field Yates is gone.
0:47It's just a duo today. It's a whole field taking vacation.
0:50I would never. Always taking vacation. I would never take a personal day.
0:54Vacation day. You know me. I'm here. I'm ready to grind.
0:57You've never, never once. I would never do that.
0:59Been accused. I would never do that. By the way, if you watch the show every day, you probably notice that every
1:05time we start, I immediately go like this. Yes, yes.
1:08Because you reach down. I'm quiet when we're talking in here, and then the show starts, and you start talking louder, and
1:14I'm like, oh no, my volume is so loud.
1:16I have to turn it down. Daniel, I was up till like midnight last night.
1:21Come on, man. You and me both. Get easy on me.
1:24All right. We're going to talk about that. We got a very fun show planned for you today.
1:29Obviously, we're going to dive into all the things that were the Monday Night Football game.
1:33We're going to talk about waivers as well, which is always big for us.
1:37A Raheem Sanders payoff. We've got the knockout league, which we're going to talk about as well, and maybe a little overreaction if we have some time.
1:44Who knows? Mike and I are going to dive into as much as we possibly can.
1:49Exactly. It's our first week recapping a week, so we're just kind of figuring it out on the fly here.
1:54With that, we're not figuring it out on the fly.
1:57We did, in fact, have a show note and a meeting.
2:00Oh, we did? Mike, don't let Mike make you think we didn't.
2:03I wasn't there. But for what it's worth, in case this is your first time tuning in because maybe you don't have
2:09a fantasy show you've been listening to and you want to come back and hang out, let me tell you where you
2:16can find us really quickly as a podcast. We're available everywhere that you get your podcasts, and you can find us every
2:22single week, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. Eastern, on the NFL on ESPN YouTube page.
2:26Go check us out there, as well as on the ESPN app, ESPN Fantasy app on the ESPN Fantasy Facebook page.
2:32We're all over the place, Michael. And with that being said, why don't we dive into a quick recap?
2:37Yeah, speaking of a team that's still sleeping and maybe didn't get good rest going into the week, I don't know.
2:43There's a joke here somewhere, but the Broncos were not ready.
2:46The Chiefs playing at Arrowhead were ready for this one.
2:48Yeah, the Denver Broncos lost 10-31 to the Ken Walker.
2:51Honestly, Ken Walker scored. That was the whole thing.
2:54He had more yards, I think, than their whole team.
2:56Almost had more yards. Did he? Yeah, I think he might have.
3:00He had 191 yards. It looks like Denver had 131 passing and 51 rushing.
3:04192. Almost the same. That's almost the same. That's incredible.
3:06Wow, yeah. K9, I mean, this is the story.
3:09Of all the things that happened in Monday Night Football, which honestly, the biggest thing that happened is, you know, Field's not here.
3:15Mike and I, he asked us to house hit the house last night, and it was really fun.
3:20Mike broke into Field's fancy liquor cabinet. And obviously, we had a bunch of the really expensive clear stuff.
3:25Yeah, it's really fun. And then when we filled it back up with water so that Field won't know, the expensive glass
3:31waters that Field keeps in the fridge that everyone knows about.
3:34But while we were doing that, Ken Walker III absolutely just smashed.
3:38I thought you were going somewhere else with that.
3:40I was waiting for you to decide. I was going to decide.
3:44I thought there was a hook somewhere. You never got there.
3:47Anyway, let's move on to Ken Walker. Wow. He was the only storyline.
3:50I mean, there were some negative storylines. He was the only positive storyline.
3:54The dude looked unbelievable. When you talk about first game with a new squad, this is what you're hoping happens.
3:59Ken Walker III was unbelievable. Mike, major takeaways for you.
4:02Yeah, let's talk about that. 23 carries, 173 yards, and a touchdown.
4:05Also involved in the passing game, 15 routes. And they didn't have to throw much.
4:09Only 27 pass attempts. Nope. Six targets, three catches, 18 yards, and another touchdown.
4:13And look, they didn't need to use him a lot in the fourth quarter.
4:17This game was pretty much in control for the Chiefs.
4:20Or perhaps he might have done even more damage.
4:22We saw St. Mehmet Johnson, the rookie, looked fine.
4:25Especially in the passing game, he had two catches for 44 yards.
4:28But probably going to get a smaller share in the future, certainly.
4:32You know, if the game script is a little bit different, they're not always going to be up by two or three touchdowns.
4:38So, obviously, Walker was highlight. I would also say something else that, you know, a positive for the Chiefs is Patrick Mahomes running the football.
4:45Had a rushing touchdown early. Yep. Seven for 23 and a touchdown.
4:48I believe he had three of his seven carries were scrambles, which is a good sign.
4:53So, he looks good. That was our concern with him, right?
4:56We know he could throw the football. How much is he going to add with his legs?
5:00He looked fine to me. He doesn't look like a guy who tore his ACL late last year.
5:05Agreed. I'm with you on that. The one thing about Mahomes from a passing game perspective, didn't disappoint.
5:10But he didn't really have to do a whole lot because there was a lot of running because of that.
5:16Yeah, his average depth of throw, I believe, was four and a half yards.
5:20I mean, it was clearly the game plan was, we're not bothering with our wide receivers.
5:24I mean, Rasheed Rice, if he doesn't break that tackle and score a touchdown, it's basically a zero for him.
5:30He had two for 19 and a touchdown, but only had two targets.
5:33But that was clearly the game plan. Yes. Snap the ball to Mahomes, immediately throw it to Xavier Worthy or Walker out
5:39of the backfield or whoever's in the short area.
5:42That's not going to be the case most weeks.
5:44But they were protecting themselves against one of the best defenses in the NFL.
5:48They did an excellent job game planning, and they just ran it through Ken Walker.
5:52And as long as he's running well, which he was in this one, 101 yards over expectation in this one for Walker.
5:58Wow. Just a surreal number. It was working, and they just kept doing it.
6:02They did just keep doing it. Travis Kelsey is going to look like he had a nice day in this one, Mike.
6:0810.1 fantasy points. Most of that came on like one big catch where he had almost 60 yards on one play.
6:14So how are you feeling about the rest of this squad when we're just like looking ahead, right?
6:19Ken Walker III definitely going to be a start for us next week.
6:23Mishi Rice still going to be a start. This was a tough matchup.
6:26We'll talk about him more. Not worried about that.
6:29He was still there. Worthy and Rice were the one-two punch at receiver pretty clearly.
6:33Do you think that Patrick Mahomes has worked his way up with the rushing that you've seen to potentially be in the
6:39starter conversation with week two when we talk on Wednesday?
6:42Yeah, he's definitely a borderline QB1. We'll see where he falls in our rankings.
6:45I have to look at who they are playing, which I'm looking at right now.
6:50They're playing the Colts. So yeah, he'll certainly be playable.
6:52It looks like I'm going to have him right around QB8 through 10, right in that range.
6:57So we definitely feel better. Now that we know he's not going to have one carry for two yards, we can feel
7:03better about him as a back-end QB1. He didn't look limited.
7:06It looked like he was fine from that perspective.
7:09That really helps alleviate a lot of fears. Let's talk about the other side because it wasn't very fun if you were a Broncos manager.
7:15What positives did you see from the Denver Broncos from a fantasy perspective, Mike?
7:19Uh, well, Jalen Waddle and Cortland Sutton were 1-2 in pass routes by a lot.
7:24Okay. Maybe that's it. I guess that... No, I would say Evan Ingram played more than he did last year.
7:29Had four for 43 and caught a touchdown. That, you know, maybe it gets into the streaming conversation.
7:34I'm pessimistic because he went basically all of last year being fantasy irrelevant.
7:38So not super optimistic, but if you're in a tough spot at tight end, not the worst add in a 12-team league.
7:44Pat Bryant looked good, but again, he was well behind Sutton and Waddle in routes.
7:48And those guys are not going to go two for 11 and one for two at all.
7:52I mean, that's... Maybe they're both of their worst game of the season.
7:56They're going to have better games. Maybe this is a really good thing to make sure that everyone understands too.
8:02Because when you look at the box score, what you see is Pat Bryant, four catches for 42 yards on six targets.
8:08Cortland Sutton, only two for 11 on five targets.
8:10And Jalen Waddle, only one for two on three targets.
8:13So Pat Bryant clearly was the biggest target getter and was the most, you know, productive from that perspective.
8:18But wasn't on the field, wasn't running as many routes.
8:21Don't expect this to be the thing week in and week out.
8:24Clear cut number three receiver, but he played 57% of the snaps compared to Sutton and Waddle who were in the 70s.
8:30Numbers that may have been higher if they weren't just running out the clock.
8:34They actually kneeled out the game to end it because it was over.
8:38So that could change in the future. Similar in the backfield as well.
8:41RJ Harvey actually led in snaps 25 to 19 over JK Dobbins, but it was Dobbins early on.
8:46He's still the primary ball carrier. Harvey, clearly the primary guy in passing situations.
8:50Jonah Coleman only played three snaps. So he is an insurance option at best.
8:54You know, you don't have to keep him on your roster.
8:57You can cut him. We're going to talk waiver soon.
9:00You can cut him loose. But Harvey and Dobbins are the one-two punch.
9:03And honestly, we've said this several times this week already.
9:06Dead zone-y. Yeah. You know, they are in the dead zone.
9:09There's nothing really appealing about starting either of those guys.
9:12Maybe when the matchup's really good. Like if they're going to be a heavy favorite, which I don't know if they can
9:18be in the short term after the way they played last night.
9:21But when they have a, you know, it's going to look like a positive game script for them.
9:26Maybe JK Dobbins is a little more appealing, but mostly you're going to avoid.
9:30Yep. All right. Good call on this one. Did you take the Broncos or the Chiefs?
9:35I think I took Denver in this one, which was a bad call.
9:38That's a bad call by me. Yeah, that was a bad call.
9:41The Broncos, a major letdown, frankly, on both sides of the football.
9:45They still stopped the pass well. Both teams had a similar game plan offensively, which is like we don't even have wide receivers.
9:51We don't care about them. Maybe two yards away from the line of scrimmage, that's it.
9:56Otherwise, for Denver, it was a disaster. Chiefs, it was just running the football.
9:59But disappointing for Davis Webb in his first game calling plays.
10:02But this is a very talented football team. I suspect they'll bounce back quickly.
10:06Every game day starts before the lights go up.
10:09Before the snap. Before the roar. Something's already at work.
10:12Cleaner, quieter energy production. Running where the game lives.
10:14Strong enough for fourth and goal. Smart enough for what comes next.
10:17Powering game day. Powering the fans. And powering the communities that show up every Saturday.
10:22The same energy that runs your stadium, runs the schools, and the hospital in your neighborhood.
10:26That is performance. Powered by Bloom Energy. Powering game days.
10:29Powering communities. Many people's first serious relationship didn't start with a kiss.
10:32It started with a kickoff. Or perhaps it was love at first hike.
10:36But unfortunately, many of these football lovers don't live in the same city as their team.
10:40Which is why Marriott Bonvoy has hotels close to nearly every NFL stadium.

11:20Let's dive into the waiver wire targets here heading into week two, Mike.
11:24Week one is going to be a little bit of a more robust list than usual.
11:28We thought we'd be volume shooters here. Make sure we mention just a handful of guys that had some really good weeks.
11:34When we have field back next week, we'll be a little bit tighter on the guys that we're going to talk about.
11:40But we got a little bit more space here.
11:43Yeah, I agreed. We did this yesterday as well with recaps where we mentioned as many names as we could because you
11:49have to get that feel for where guys are.
11:51But, you know, I used Travis Hunter before the show we were talking about it.
11:56I used Travis Hunter as an example. Like, yeah, he had three opportunities on offense.
12:00We don't need to give you a Hunter update on offense every single week, right?
12:04If he's not an offensive factor. But now we know that.
12:07We got that out of the way in week one.
12:10And if something changes, we'll report back. Similar with waivers.
12:12We're going to roll through a bunch of names here.
12:15And these guys might be borderline waiver ads every week.
12:18But, you know, once we say, hey, don't bother.
12:20Yes. We'll report back. We'll let you know when it's time to bother.
12:24There's any news on some of these guys. But, yeah, let's roll through them.
12:28Exactly. All right. Let's start with Bryce Young. Scored 31.4 points, Michael.
12:31How much of this do you believe is Bryce Young?
12:34And is it worth considering on the waiver wire?
12:36And how much do you think it was because they played a team that scored 59 points?
12:41Yeah, it's definitely a big part of it. He, I guess, looked a little bit better at times than that one.
12:47Had a couple good throws. But I'm not buying this one yet.
12:50This is not a guy I will be targeting on waivers this week, even though he's available in almost 90% of leagues.
12:56It should probably stay about that way. Look, this guy has yet to finish the season better than 20th in passing yards,
13:0210th in rushing yards, or 24th in fantasy points per game.
13:05And here's the thing. He had a big game.
13:08And maybe you think, okay, maybe he's turning the corner.
13:11But, Daniel, it's not the first time. It's not.
13:13I've seen this before with him, okay? I'll give you some examples.
13:16Okay. Week 18 of 2024, 36 fantasy points. He comes out in the season opener last year, 8.2.
13:21Then in week two, he had 21 points. Next week, 12.
13:24Actually, he had 12 or fewer each of the next three games.
13:28Week 11 last year, 31.8. Very similar to what he did yesterday.
13:31Yeah. Next week, 8.3. And then week 13 last year, 22.5.
13:34All right, we're going back the right direction. Nope, 15.4 the following week.
13:38He also had a rushing touchdown in this game.
13:40He had three of them total all of last year.
13:43So, that's a little bit fluky. They play Atlanta this week.
13:46I think he's still a mid-to-back-end quarterback, too. No, thanks.
13:49Just not going to bother. You're not going to start him every week.
13:52Agreed. Not going to do it. I agree with you on that one, unfortunately.
13:56If we start to see something and this materializes more consistently, but I feel like you're showing me peaks and valleys in his game law.
14:03I love guys like that, and that's not who you, especially with the depth of quarterback, you don't need to bother with that.
14:09Exactly. So, unless you're in super flex, I just don't see the appeal of spending much fab on this.
14:15What about Tyler Shuck? Tyler Shuck, another guy that had a positive game script, unfortunately.
14:19Struggled in the first half of that game, taken on the Detroit Lions.
14:22Yep. Threw for over 400 yards. Three touchdowns. Clearly has a good relationship with Chris Olave.
14:27Worth maybe considering? Yeah. So, Bryce Young's available on 89% of ESPN leagues.
14:30Shuck is about half of ESPN. Okay. There's a big difference in this one.
14:34He was drafted as a QB2 quite a bit.
14:37If he is out there, yeah, I think he's a better QB2 than Bryce Young.
14:41Yes, he lit it up. Most of it was in the second half and overtime.
14:45But, a couple red flags here. First of all, he had 56 pass attempts, and he averaged 7.3 yards per attempt.
14:51That's exactly where he was last year in yards per attempt.
14:54So, keep in mind, this is very inflated, not by efficiency, but by volume, because of game script and the overtime.
15:00Something else that's concerning, eight rushing yards and four carries.
15:02Correct. We need a little bit more from Shuck if he's going to get into the quarterback one conversation.
15:08And, we kind of called a shot on this one coming into the week.
15:12He was in your start of the week. He was.
15:14I mean, they were playing the Lions, beat up secondary.
15:17Actually, it was really concerning how bad he started.
15:20First half was tough. Because of that matchup, but eventually it turned on and he got rolling.
15:24So, definitely some concerning things here, but some positives as well.
15:27This week's the big test. Yeah. They go to Baltimore.
15:30Obviously, the Ravens had a terrific week one defensively, so this is the big test for me.
15:35I think you just leave him on your bench.
15:37Yep. Week two, we'll see how it goes. If he looks good in week two, we might be having a different conversation.
15:43I think he's worth an add, and I as well would leave him on the bench against Baltimore this week, but I do like Tyler Shuck.
15:50Not often you can grab a guy off waivers that's leading the league in passing yards.
15:55So, you know, week one is always fun. Yeah, no doubt.
15:58From that perspective. By the way, a little bit of positivity I want to say on this.
16:03He had 23.2 fantasy points. That is with basically no rushing, like you had talked about.
16:07And he had two interceptions and a fumble. So, that's six points that he lost there because of turnovers.
16:12If he cleans up the turnovers, there's even more ceiling available there.
16:16So, like him as well. What about one more guy, one more person at quarterback?
16:20Jordan Love. I just think part of this is like the narrative of that running game looked so awful, Mike.
16:25Is this one of those things where it's like, they're just going to have to throw the ball a ton until we
16:31get more clarity on the Josh Jacobs situation? I don't know.
16:34I mean, Matt LaFleur's history is we're going to have a balanced, slow-moving offense to protect our defense, stay fresh.
16:40And I don't know if that's going to change necessarily.
16:43It might be by force if the defense really struggles.
16:45At some point, Micah Parsons will be back. Maybe the defense gets cleaned up.
16:49But I don't know. In the meantime, it's hard for me to see Love getting into the quarterback one conversation.
16:55I mean, look, he was sixth in 2023. So, he's dabbled with it.
16:58But he's been 17th and 21st the past two years.
17:01He only had five top 15 fantasy weeks all of last season.
17:04It's just hard for me to imagine a big change here.
17:07Keep in mind, he didn't have an especially great week one.
17:11He had 19.5 fantasy points. He averaged 17.5 per game last year.
17:14So, it wasn't that big of a difference. And, again, he was not good in fantasy.
17:18Also, non-factor with his legs. Zero rushing yards on one carry in this game.
17:22They do have a good matchup this week. They're playing the Jets, who allowed second-most fantasy points in week one to the opposing quarterback.
17:29So, wait, is that right? Who did they play in week one?
17:32That doesn't sound right. They played Minnesota. The Jets played the Titans in week one.
17:36Yeah, I don't think Cam Ward was QB2. He was not.
17:39That's wrong. I don't know why I said that.
17:42I don't know. Apparently, my Excel sheet is also in.
17:44Oh, no! I don't know what that's about. I don't care for it at all.
17:49But I will investigate and figure that out. In the meantime, though, yeah, I mean, against the Jets, which I view, I mean, let's just be frank.
17:56We don't have a lot of data on defenses yet.
17:59I think they're a mid-range defense. They're a lot better than they were last year.
18:03So, I'd consider this a neutral matchup. He's my early QB20 for the week.
18:07Not buying it here. Yeah. Not buying it. I understand if, especially in a super flex league, I would want to add
18:13him just because I think that the running game is so bad.
18:16There's a chance for high volume. But I'm not, I don't think there's necessarily a lot of production.
18:21I don't know. Those wide receivers looked really good.
18:24I got to give, because I have been out on Watson.
18:27You know that. They look really good. Again, if he's going to have, and he'll run a little more.
18:32Look, he's not going to have zero yards. Only a little.
18:35But, you know, it didn't, I'd feel better if you were like, all right, he had, you know, six carries for 27 yards or something.
18:42One carry for zero yards is a big difference.
18:44And again, he didn't even get to 20 points.
18:47So, this one is not appealing to me. All right.
18:50Let's talk about some running backs then, Mike. This will be quick.
18:53Mike. I know that reference. Hey. That is Disney.
18:55Good company man right there. That's right. That's right.
18:58We're going to start with Tyler Algier, because Tyler Algier, 17 carries, Michael.
19:0161. Already. Thanks on the 17 carries. Oh, okay.
19:04Okay. 61 yards, two catches for nine yards, only nine fantasy points.
19:07But this is just as much, in my estimation, a conversation about maybe another week of having nice flex value with where
19:13Jeremiah Love is at, as well as potential insurance back for the rest of the season.
19:18Uh, he's my early RB 50 for this week.
19:2050, Michael! So, no. Uh, look, he's, first of all, this guy is, uh, rostered about a little over 40% of leagues.
19:26He still doesn't have much standalone value to me.
19:29Still an insurance back. They play Seattle this week, which, first of all, is very tough.
19:33It's going to be hard to justify this guy.
19:36He did hold an edge in carries by six over Love, 17 to 11, but he was already behind in the passing game department.
19:42Love, 14 to 12 in routes, had that edge, and four to two.
19:46In targets, yes, Algier had the edge in carries and snaps.
19:49But they spent the third overall pick on Jeremiah Love, and he looks awesome.
19:53He looks awesome. If his role doesn't just progressively increase something, there's a problem with decision making, I feel like.
19:58I don't know why that wouldn't change. Um, Maliflor did say that Love was not on a pitch count necessarily, but it
20:04was kind of how the game was going. They were ahead in this game, surprisingly.
20:09Yep. And that led to, let's just lean on Algier down the stretch in a game that was not, not really competitive
20:15once they got control of that game. I mean, the Chargers couldn't score.
20:18Like, it just, the Cardinals had control of it.
20:21So, I think as the games are more competitive, you're going to see more and more Jeremiah Love.
20:26I'm projecting him for a slight edge in carries this week, and obviously to continue leading in the passing game department.
20:31But again, very tough matchup for both backs. Yes.
20:34Not going to be great either way. I would push back and just say that I think he needs to be rostered,
20:40again, as one of the most important insurance backs.
20:42If anything did happen or Jeremiah Love were to retweak an ankle, he looks to me, at least after week one.
20:48Yeah. I hear what you're saying. I think that there's a big, huge pile of like borderline rosterable guys.
20:54Yeah. A lot of them are insurance running backs.
20:56And you kind of just have to say, there's five insurance running backs.
21:00I'm just going to pick one and it's a lottery ticket for the end of my bench.
21:04And I think he fits that bill. I think the, I think the problem with some of those guys too is like,
21:10yeah, Algier might week to week outscore. Or like, I don't know, Braylon Allen or Kalen Black or Ray Davis, but are you ever going to start him?
21:18And I don't think that you're going to. Unless Jeremiah Love gets injured.
21:22Yeah. Right. But that's what I'm saying. He doesn't have standalone value.
21:25So your bench is just for those guys who if someone else goes down, they become startable, but he just doesn't have, he just doesn't have standalone value.
21:33Let's talk about Kalen Black then. Cause you mentioned him with the way that CMC looked and the split that they had.
21:39Do you think that Kalen Black is at least worth a dart throw here on the waiver wire?
21:44Yes. I think he's very much like Algier. He's fine for your bench.
21:47We did get new information from when we react, when we initially reacted to this game.
21:52Like why was CMC not, what do you have two carries in the first half?
21:56He was dealing with cramps going into the game.
21:58So that's why Kalen Black got more run. He had 14 carries, just one target in the game.
22:03So he does not have standalone value at this point.
22:06You're going to see more and more CMC as the year goes on.
22:10He's just not going to be limited like that as he was as a rusher.
22:14The good news is, you know, much like the bears in week one, you might have two fantasy relevant running backs in this one.
22:20They're playing Miami here at home. So they're both going to be busy.
22:24And if they're in control, you might see Kalen Black a little extra in the second half of this game, the reverse of last week.
22:31So I'm not going to start him. I have him at 43.
22:34So you'd have to be in a deep league to throw him in your flex.
22:38I just think you have more reliable options. And I still feel better about CMC as the player back in San Francisco.
22:44Nothing bold there by any means. But again, Adam, to the near the front of the long list of insurance running backs.
22:51I have Kalen Black in a handful of leagues because of my concern about CMC long term.
22:55I definitely think he should at least be rostered.
22:58And if he's not rostered, at least be on your Doppler radar as you move through these weights.
23:03Doppler radar? Doppler radar. Yeah, 15% is too low.
23:05I would agree with that. We're at 15% rostered for Black.
23:08We're at 42% for Algier. They should be closer.
23:11They should be much closer. Yeah. Yeah. Let's dive into some wide receivers.
23:14Wide receiver is where it gets tricky, Michael. Because we had a lot of big guys in week one that we could consider.
23:21Let's start with Jalen Coker because Jalen Coker, much like with Bryce Young, had a massive game against the Chicago Bears.
23:26Eight catches. 138 yards. Two touchdowns. Mm-hmm. 33.8 fantasy points.
23:29That seems good. This guy's been a sleeper and he's been on the sleeper radar for a while.
23:34A name that has been on the, you know, we're waiting for him to potentially do more.
23:39Is week one the coming out party or are you still holding out hope?
23:43Is he at least worth adding? Let's start there.
23:45Is he at least worth adding off of waivers?
23:48He's available in half of ESPN leagues. Certainly a guy that scores almost 34 points.
23:52You want to add to your bench at the very minimum.
23:55Am I starting him yet? Maybe. I have him at 33 in my initial rankings.
23:59We'll dive into that more tomorrow. But borderline top 30 option.
24:02He was very impressive in this game. And also cemented as, I'm going to say the number two receiver.
24:07I know he outscored and out-targeted Tedderone McMillan. Tedderone McMillan was an early first round pick last year.
24:12The guy was very impressive as a rookie. Agreed.
24:15They both were the only two Panthers to get to five targets in this game.
24:19So McMillan wasn't his day per se, but it might be his day next week.
24:23I think both guys are fantasy starting caliber options, but McMillan's still the better player.
24:27I will say this though. Much like what we talked about earlier with Bryce Young, we've seen this from Jalen Coker.
24:33We have. If Young comes back to earth, Coker may as well.
24:36I look back at his career so far. Coker, 22 career games in which he played over 50% of the snaps.
24:42He's had 14 fantasy points eight times, but has been held under eight points 12 times.
24:46Even more so. But since he's gotten healthy late last season, he's been good.
24:50He has 16 plus fantasy points in three straight games going back to last year.
24:54Play Atlanta this week. It's a secondary I think you can get behind and make some plays against.
24:59Big divisional game for the Carolina Panthers. So yeah, when it comes down to it, I think he is very much now
25:05in the wide receiver three slash flex discussion. Super talented wide receiver that I agree.
25:10Once you get into the, if he's in the flex consideration now, once we get into bye weeks, that means he could
25:16bump up even a little bit higher as you're taking guys out of the player pool.
25:20I think he's one of the bigger ads based on what he did at the wide receiver spot this week.

26:19Void where prohibited. What about Devon Vele? We saw him also do really well.
26:23Seven for 69 and a touchdown on nine targets.
26:2619.9 fantasy points. Again, some of this is the game script that we talked about with the Saints going into overtime, having
26:32to catch up with the Detroit Lions. Until Jordan Tyson comes back, though, did you see enough from him as the wide
26:38receiver, too, that he might be worth it for fantasy managers?
26:41Yeah, a little bit. I mean, this is one of them weird ones where last week we were saying all the positive
26:47things about Vele because we kind of saw a good game coming for him, and now you have to, like, kind of bring people back to earth.
26:54You know, I like to do that. If you're too high, I'm going to bring you here.
26:59If you're too low, I'm going to bring you here, right?
27:02So that's what I'm going to do. Yes, he played 78 snaps in week one.
27:06Most teams didn't have 78 snaps. They had 86 at the Saints because of the overtime situation.
27:11Nine targets. But that's important context here, okay? Nine targets, 86 snaps.
27:14That's a 17% target share did he have. That's not an especially good number.
27:18That's, like, maybe a flex, but 17%. You need that proper context there.
27:22Did fine. He had seven for 69 and a touchdown.
27:24Remember, last year, he had an eight for 93 in a touchdown game.
27:28That was his only game with 12-plus fantasy points last season.
27:31It was. They only played basically six healthy games as the number two.
27:35But still, like, we've seen this from him before.
27:37They're playing the Ravens this week. Much tougher matchup, as we noted earlier.
27:41So, for me, going to be borderline top 50.
27:43I'm going to say in 12 team leagues, deep ones, maybe he's in your flex, but probably not.
27:48And I would say it would be tough once Jordan Tyson comes back, and as long as Jordan Tyson stays healthy, there's a big if with that statement.
27:56It would seem like he would probably fall back into the third or fourth pass catcher role.
28:00He's only going to have a short-term value for you if you do pick him up.
28:05Yeah, he won't be startable in that scenario, so now's the only time you can maybe take advantage.
28:10But, again, he's available in about 87% of ESPN leagues.
28:13You can add him to your bench if you want.
28:15I think he's fine to add to your bench, but I don't think he's going to be usable much this season, so
28:21I'm not going to spend much there. But let's put two guys together that led their teams in receiving just like we expected.
28:28Now we're getting into the good stuff. Now we're getting into the good stuff.
28:32This is going to be fun. Kendrick Bourne for the Cardinals, who smashed and obviously outperformed both Michael Wilson and Marvin Harrison Jr., had 15.5 fantasy points.
28:39And Kalief Raymond, who led the Bears in receiving as well with eight catches in this one in week one.
28:45Are either of these two veterans, given the number of mouths to feed in their offenses, worth putting a dart on in the waivers?
28:51I have a lot to say here. Why'd you combine them?
28:54We have a long time to go here. Okay, bring it.
28:57We have plenty of time to talk. No, no, no.
29:00All right. Then let's start with Kendrick Bourne. Yeah, we'll start with Kendrick Bourne.
29:04I was half kidding here. First of all, Bourne did play a lot in this game.
29:08You look at pass routes. McBride, 33. Marvin Harrison.
29:11Or, excuse me, let's start with Wilson. Michael Wilson, 35.
29:14McBride, 33. Marvin Harrison, 32. Kendrick Bourne, 28. So he was out there plenty when they were throwing the football.
29:19But, look, he had a 21% target share in this game.
29:22It's the 13th highest he's had in a game in his 134-game career.
29:26He's 31 years old. That's going to come down.
29:28Also, remember, he played a pretty big role for the 49ers in the first half of last season.
29:33He averaged four and a half targets and 8.8 fantasy points per game during that span.
29:38This guy has never been consistently fantasy relevant. You know, he's had runs here or there during certain seasons.
29:43They're going to Seattle or they're hosting Seattle this week.
29:46It's hard for me to imagine that this guy is going to be a flex option, let alone worth adding.
29:51He's 0.1% rostered. I mean, I'm not putting claims in for Kendrick Bourne.
29:55I am with you on that one, especially with all the other options in this offense.
29:59It feels like they have... When you just go through the pecking order of who does Arizona want to put the ball in the hands of?
30:06Jeremiah Love, Trey McBride, Michael Wilson, who they paid $75 million to, Marvin Harrison Jr., who they just want to be good at football, please.
30:13I'm with you, unfortunately. This was more of a pass.
30:16If this continues and they're just not going to throw it to Harrison at all, then they might as well trade him.
30:22Like, what are you doing? I mean, there's no way the game plan is just not to use Marvin Harrison.
30:28It's not going to go that way. That might be what Marvin Harrison needs.
30:31It's just like a change of scenery, new place.
30:34Let's try to get into a new dude. Maybe, but again, I mentioned this all offseason.
30:38In those four games last year with Michael Wilson, Trey McBride, and Jacoby Brissett, the four games they played, and Harrison was involved as well.
30:45He outscored Wilson in all of them, and his fantasy production was pretty good.
30:49He averaged around 14 fantasy points a game. So I'm not giving up on this one yet.
30:54I think, you know, Harrison's less of an appealing start this week, but I think there's a chance he bounces back.
31:00All right. Michael Clay has not given up on Marvin Harrison Jr.
31:03Ben Johnson not giving up on Kalief Raymond. He gave up on him in Detroit, so why would he not?
31:08But then he brought him to Chicago, and of all the people that could lead the Bears in receiving, it wasn't Luther Burden.
31:15It wasn't Roma Dunzey. It wasn't Colston Loveland. No, it was the safety blanket.
31:19Kalief Raymond, Michael. Again, let's talk a little bit about usage in this game.
31:22Let's talk about it. Colston Loveland led the team with 32 pass routes.
31:26He's going to be fine. Luther Burden was second with 25.
31:29Roma Dunzey, who was limited a lot in the first half of this game.
31:33He was not playing a lot, which certainly helped Kalief Raymond.
31:36He was still fourth with 21. Kalief Raymond, yes, 8 for 84 and 9 targets in this game.
31:41He is 32 years old and a career depth player.
31:44He's never had more than... I'm just going to give you some numbers here.
31:48Please. I know the numbers. I don't want people to waste fab on this one.
31:52I don't feel my disagree, but he's never had more than 652 scrimmage yards in a season.
31:56He's been held under 300 yards each of the past two seasons.
32:00One of those was with Ben Johnson in Detroit.
32:02Yes. He might hit for the occasional big play, especially in this offense, but he's so far down.
32:07This guy has... He's played 10 seasons, Daniel. How many touchdowns do you think he has in 10 seasons?
32:12Offensively. I was going to say offensive touchdowns. Maybe four.
32:15Ten. Which one per season. I mean, really bad.
32:18Really bad. He is not a... Listen, I watched him a lot when he played for my Detroit Lions.
32:23He is that guy that when he needs to step in, the coaches love because he'll be in the spot that you tell him to be in.
32:30He runs his routes. He's really good about that stuff.
32:33But no, he's not going to be like a consistent contributor.
32:36Where we will be a consistent contributor is usually on special teams.
32:39He's a really good returner. Yeah. And that's not going to do anything for us here in fantasy more often than not.
32:46I've watched him return a number of kicks for touchdowns.
32:48But I am with you, unfortunately, with all the other people in this offense.
32:52As much as I love Khalif Raymond, and we saw this in week one, if this happens again, it means things have gone terribly wrong in Chicago.
33:00Yeah, exactly right. You just have too many mouths to feed.
33:03You have the running backs. You have Caleb Williams running in addition to passing.
33:07And then you have Burden, Odunze, and Loveland. There's just no path here.
33:10There's no path for Raymond to be a consistent fantasy option.
33:13You're right. If you're putting up flex numbers, there's a problem somewhere.
33:16Something's going on. Yes. So again, much like Bourne, I'm not spending a penny on Khalif Raymond.
33:21If I'm wrong, I'll take the L on it.
33:24And by the way, they play Minnesota this week, which, you know, they're outstanding against wide receivers.
33:28I mean, it's going to be – I know they weren't in week one.
33:32A couple guys got behind them. But this is a very good defense.
33:36They shut them down last year. What about someone younger then?
33:39All right. You don't like the old guys. Let's talk about Caleb Douglas.
33:42Now we're talking. Caleb Douglas was exciting. He was already like a low-end sleeper.
33:46Who's going to be the guy that emerges in this Miami Dolphins receiving core?
33:50Five for 94 on seven targets, 14 and a half fantasy points in week one.
33:54Did you see enough to make him at least a waiver target for you?
33:58Yes. Maybe my favorite target other than Jalen Coker on this list.
34:01Wow. Okay, love that. This is the guy I'm going after.
34:04The Dolphins are looking for a number one wide receiver.
34:07And he had a 26% target share in this game.
34:10There was a clear one-two puncher receiver. It was Malik Washington, who – Yep.
34:14He's not going to emerge as fantasy relevant. And then Caleb Douglas, who perhaps could.
34:18He's looked the part. And I did a little digging because I was like, man, first NFL game, not season, first NFL game for a third-round receiver.
34:25When you came in, you looked like you'd been out digging.
34:28I have been. I've been out digging stats. I could tell.
34:32That's what I was doing late last night. Oh, okay.
34:34Like, even like Klee Freeman and Kendrick Bourne, just like digging up random stats about why these guys are not mid-wave rads.
34:40Yes. But I looked at Caleb Douglas' production in this game.
34:43He had 94 receiving yards. How does that compare over the past decade to wide receivers in their first game?
34:49And look at this list on your screen. This is the most receiving yards by rookie wide receivers in week one over the past decade.
34:56Here's the list. Mark Keese Brown has won. Terry McLaren, Huka Nakua, Jamar Chase, A.J.
35:00Brown, Caleb Douglas, D.K. Metcalf, Zee Flowers, Cooper Cup, Drake London.
35:03Find me one guy on there who's a bad fantasy option.
35:06Wow. Or who has been a bad fantasy option.
35:08So he had the sixth most receiving yards ever as a rookie wide receiver.
35:12That's incredible. 14 and a half fantasy points was really legit as well.
35:16I mean, imagine if this offense had found the end zone or had more scoring opportunities available to them, what that could have meant as well.
35:23I know. But I mean, look at the guys around him.
35:26If that's a... That's a good list, Mike. Exactly.
35:29All of these guys are weekly fantasy starters right now, except, well, The weakest one is at the top.
35:34Yeah, Hollywood Brown. Number one. But again, Hollywood Brown, the next, what, five years after that was a weekly fantasy starter.
35:40Yes. So Barry, if that's an indicator, that's a really good sign.
35:43If he doesn't turn out to be a good NFL player, then he's an exception to that rule.
35:48So that gives me a point in the right direction, as is the fact that he played 45 of 50 snaps in this game, led the team in...
35:56He was... Or he was up there. He was second in targets to Malik Washington in this game.
36:01But only two receivers from Miami played more than half the snaps.
36:04It was Washington and Douglas, to my earlier point.
36:06Much tougher matchup this week. Yes. They're playing the Niners.
36:09Remember, they held Matthew Stafford to 155 yards and no touchdowns in week one.
36:13So, tempering expectations. Douglas still a borderline top 50 play.
36:16Not going on my flex yet, but Daniel, he's available in 84% of ESPN leagues.
36:20We talked about him as like a late round flyer during draft season.
36:24We already liked him. Yep. And so that remains the case.
36:27This guy should be on benches. All right. So let me ask you this question then.
36:31Because with it being week one, sometimes the hype really helps or hurts a player or managers when they're trying to make a decision, right?
36:38Because you kind of get emotional about what you think a player can be.
36:42When we're talking about fab, and not everyone uses fab.
36:45We're talking waivers. But give me fab and the order that you would do it.
36:49But we've seen Jalen Coker at times flash. We know what he can bring to the table.
36:53Would you prioritize him and spend a little bit more on him, knowing that he is also potentially the number two in that offense?
37:00Or would you go with the young flashy rookie in Caleb Douglas, who has a chance to be the wide receiver one of his squad?
37:07All right. You know what I don't like about this is we're in a lot of leagues together.
37:12Yes, I know. I know. Trust me. So the people listening.
37:15So the people in our ear. So is Field, who's probably out there listening somewhere.
37:19This is great information for the people, is what it is.
37:22I don't want to tell you. Can I tell you tomorrow?
37:25No, you can't tell me tomorrow. Can I whisper?
37:28You don't listen? Yeah, look, Coker, I'm going to, as I just said, he's more of the priority.
37:33But I'm not going to get too carried away.
37:35I think he does cap out as a wide receiver three.
37:38So I'm probably looking in the 15% range. So $100, $15.
37:41Douglas, probably more like $5. Again, I'm still worried about this offense overall.
37:45I don't know if Douglas is going to get to a weekly flex or wide receiver three.
37:49It's possibly certainly the best bet right now from this group.
37:52Maybe in the $8 range for Caleb Douglas. It also depends on my situation.
37:56If it's in a 10-team league and my bench is low, like I have a 10-team league that are FFC league where Roma Dunze is on my bench.
38:04I think I have like Debo. Like I have a lot of good guys.
38:08I don't have to spend a lot there. I need that capital for other positions potentially.
38:12So I might not be as aggressive. But 12-team leagues, yeah, I might be a little more aggressive, especially if you start
38:18three receivers and a flex like we do in a lot of our mats.
38:22All right. Let's talk about a couple more rookie wide receivers really quickly.
38:26Antonio Williams found the end zone. I mean, that was not a lot looked great, unfortunately, for the commanders in this one.
38:32You're buying Antonio Williams potentially. I like the four for 64 and a touchdown.
38:36That part was nice. That was really good. The problem is we talked about this yesterday.
38:40He ran 10 pass routes in this game. That was fourth, not third, fourth at receiver.
38:45Wait, doesn't that mean that he was targeted on 40% of his routes?
38:48Why didn't you start with that stat? Yeah, well, if he plays 40 snaps, then that's notable.
38:53Then that's notable. But Terry McLaren's Fondake still the one-two punch there.
38:56McLaren had a dud game. That's, you know, he very well could bounce back in a big way in week two and Williams disappears.
39:03But also, Diami Brown was third in line. Now, if Williams is able to leap Diami Brown, then you think maybe.
39:09But then you're like, wait, but they still have Terry McLaren and Stephon Diggs.
39:12And Jemiel Conk will miss some time in this game.
39:15He'll be healthy. Jaden Daniels is still going to add a lot with his legs.
39:19It's hard to see Williams getting to the flex conversation.
39:22So I agree. Like him in Dynasty, not there in season long.
39:25To add him, I would need an injury to McLaren or Diggs.
39:29What about with David Boston? David Boston. Sorry, Denzel Boston.
39:31Apologies. Yeah, Denzel Boston. You're not the first person to do that.
39:35Casey Concepcion is there. Harold Fannin is there. He did have 13.9 fantasy points, but he only had two catches, and it was just because of that touchdown.
39:43You buying into it, potentially? I'm not there yet.
39:45The touchdown was in clear garbage time. Yes. I mean, the game was added.
39:49And Deshaun Watson was horrendous until then. Maybe when Shador Sanders gets there.
39:52The good news for Boston is he was their number one receiver in this game.
39:57Easily in snaps. He ran 24 routes. Judy ran 20.
39:59Concepcion ran 15. So it was a clear edge for Boston as the number one perimeter option.
40:04I don't know if Watson's going to get him there.
40:07Watson's going to start in week two. It sounds like Todd Monk has said there were some good things on tape.
40:13I'd like to weigh in. Watson's not going to get him there.
40:16That's just, I'll put that out there. Yeah, I would agree with that.
40:20I think Shador Sanders, if he plays a little YOLO ball, maybe he can get it done for him.
40:25But Boston is available in 75% of ESPN leagues.
40:27I'm fine to leave him on my bench. I think he's, I still think it's Concepcion in terms of who I prefer.
40:33He was drafted earlier, but more importantly, they manufacture touches for him.
40:37He had three carries in the game in addition to his target.
40:40So Concepcion's still my preferred Browns receiver. But Boston, I think there's a good chance he's the real deal as a football player.
40:46So that's enough for me to just keep guys like that on my bench.
40:50What we need is for Cleveland to give the car keys, obviously, to Shador Sanders and let Shador play the YOLO ball that you talk about.
40:57And we need to have like the Jameis Winston type season out of Shador Sanders.
41:01I hope so. Like that's what I, if I could comp him, especially with what this Browns team is going to be,
41:08they're not going to be super competitive. He's going to have to throw the ball a ton.
41:12Unfortunately, it might cap some of the running back value that we have in Quinchan Judkins.
41:17But that's what we need to happen for both of these wide receivers is just let Shador be a young kid slinging
41:23it because this offense doesn't have a whole lot else anyways.
41:26And they go to Tampa Bay this week. It's gonna be very similar to Jacksonville.
41:30I think the situation will be similar. Probably if Tampa Bay jump ahead in this game, the Cleveland defense is not as good as it used to be.
41:38They're going to be playing from behind. Maybe you get some garbage time, but then maybe when they come back home, maybe
41:44you see a switch in quarterbacks if Watson struggles.
41:46But this is not the week to start a Cleveland pass catcher.
41:49Can you imagine? Maybe Fannin, but probably not. You have Harold Fannin, who's unbelievable.
41:53You just drafted two first round wide receivers and Quinchan Judkins.
41:56And the guy that you put out there to lead the entire thing is just not taking advantage of any of the weapons that you're putting out there.
42:04I mean, they're trying to make it work. So bad.
42:07I, you know, we talked about this a couple of weeks ago.
42:10I think the plan there was that you can't really do it the opposite way.
42:14I know. If Sanders struggles, you got to start this way.
42:17And then you have to take a look at Watson.
42:20I think you just kind of get it out of the way with these two early road games.
42:25And if he, you know, if he surprises and does well, good.
42:28If, if he's, if he doesn't, everyone's been ready for Shador Sanders for a while.
42:33So you make the switch. So I think it's coming pretty soon.
42:36Mike, this is a two part true or false question.
42:39Part one, true or false. Dontavian Wicks wide receiver one in Philly.
42:42Part two should be considered on waiver wires. False.
42:44And maybe again, there's just so many names. It's like, you can only keep so many guys in your roster, right?
42:50Yeah. So, uh, again, I kind of stand by what I said in the off season and maybe even more so now.
42:56Can the Eagle support a second wide receiver, especially with another good Dallas Goddard game?
43:00That guy's not going anywhere. You have Barkley. You have Goddard.
43:03Devontae Smith will have many better days. I don't know if there's room for anyone else.
43:08And the reason I say even more so now, first of all, he had four targets in this game.
43:13Yes. 73 and a touchdown. Yes. He's been boom, boom, bust throughout his career.
43:17That sounds like a stat line from Green Bay right there.
43:20He did run 24 of 28 pass routes, but Smith ran 25 and Makai Lemon, who missed a lot of the off season, 23.
43:27So he's already a factor in this offense and he was a first round pick.
43:31So at some point you would expect his role to continue to increase in terms of targets or touches per snap.
43:37Um, I'm, I'm pessimistic on this one. They go to Tennessee.
43:40Maybe he can get behind a corner and get another long touchdown, but I have them.
43:44My early ranks have him at 60. So obviously I'm not prioritizing a guy that's available in 90% of ESPN leagues right now.
43:50I would agree. This feels like, uh, I've seen this movie before kind of a thing.
43:55And then if it becomes more consistent, he'll be one of the guys that's just on, on my radar as a part of it.
44:01But until I feel like there's something more there, it's just, this feels like a classic Dontavian Wicks game.
44:07He would have to cement the number two job.
44:09And I, I think week one showed us that that's not going to happen.
44:13Yeah. Lemon's there. He's a factor. There's just too many mouths to feed in the Eagles offense.
44:18Isn't as good as it was a few years ago either.
44:21Yep. You know, they're not scoring three, 3.3 touchdowns a game.
44:24It's not as good. So nah, not buying it.
44:26Let's talk about a couple of tight ends here really quickly.
44:29Kenyon Sadiq found the end zone as a rusher.
44:32Sure did. We've been waiting for rookie tight ends and not maybe not waiting, but we've seen a lot of rookie tight ends be valuable.
44:39He wasn't really drafted because we didn't think he was going to be a guy.
44:43Didn't have a lot of time in the off season here.
44:46Did you see enough in week one from a usage standpoint to maybe consider adding him?
44:50Yeah, definitely. Again, he, he, I would put him in my top five waiver ads here.
44:55If he's available on waivers, I'll probably go through and we'll prioritize.
44:58Yeah. I'll put a couple bucks toward him. Remember I talked about this in the off season.
45:03The last, I think it's six tight ends drafted in the first round finished top 12 and fantasy points as a rookie.
45:09Uh, Kenyon Sadiq of course was the first round pick for the jets.
45:12And I was, I felt pretty good about his usage considering he also missed a big chunk of the off season.
45:18It looked like with Jeremy record there and obviously Mason Taylor involved that Sadiq probably wouldn't be a factor at all in week one.
45:25And instead he plays over 41% of the snaps, 46% of the pass routes.
45:29Again, I thought for week one, that would be much lower.
45:32It was not three targets, 21 yards. There had the three yard rushing touchdown, which is good.
45:36Um, he did run four fewer routes than Mason Taylor in this game.
45:40Keep in mind a rare game for the jets in which game script very much was in their favor for them.
45:46Yeah. They're playing the Packers this week. You would expect them probably to be competitive or trailing in this one.
45:51Uh, and that's going to open up more and more for Sadiq as the year goes on.
45:56So yes, a player of this caliber that is massive receiving upside.
45:59That is what your bench was built for. Okay.
46:02This isn't bi-weeks, Daniel. No, you don't need, you don't need depth.
46:05You don't need like, I don't know, wide receiver 45, like, cause you need to plug them into your flex for the week.
46:11This it's built for upside, especially this point of the season he's available in about two thirds of ESPN league.
46:17So I would keep a scoop up a city.
46:19All right. What about Mike is sickie? Obviously the number one wide receiver.
46:23Okay. Passing on Mike is sickie. I'm okay with you just saying that because we can move on.
46:28Honestly, just keep in mind. He played 33% of the snaps, a lot of targets, but, uh, he had last year, he
46:34played more than this and average five and a half fantasy points per game in the same offense.
46:39And he just doesn't, he scored exactly two touchdowns down three.
46:42No. Yeah. Apparently Mike is sick. He is not the new Jamar chase.
46:46No, he is not. No. Unsubscribe to that. Here's the thing.
46:49Mike is sick. He had more targets, more receptions, more receiving yards, more touchdowns and more fantasy points than Jamar chase Anteagans combined.
46:55Yeah. I doubt that happens again. Chase that and good luck to your fantasy season.
46:59Yeah. What about David and Joku? David and Joku in a new home now over in LA.
47:04Mike, did you see something there? Because we don't really have a number one tight end.
47:08Yeah. He, I mean, he was the leading pass catcher there.
47:11Uh, he initially was listed third on their depth chart, which was like, ah, maybe actually is behind gas situations.
47:17That was not the case. As our colleague here, Michael F.
47:20Florio points out, led the Chargers tight ends with 29 snaps.
47:23That was 57% snap share. Also led in routes.
47:25And, uh, with targets around a Gatson, just eight snaps.
47:28So Gatson's a guy, if you took a late flyer on him, I mean, I could not have been more out on
47:34that guy in the off season, kind of, you know, cut him loose.
47:38And Joku's the guy that you can keep as a tight end too, but not startable.
47:42Charlie Kolar is going to have a big role as a blocker as well.
47:46Lad McConkie. We have to keep an eye on that.
47:49We actually didn't mention that yet. We'll get into that this week.
47:52Lad McConkie, uh, is not fully healthy. He's considered day to day right now.
47:56I expect him to play this week, but if he's out, maybe in Joku sneaks into the top 15 to tight end,
48:02but I wouldn't prioritize in Joku on waivers. Yeah.
48:05What about Pat Frymouth? Pat Frymouth found the end zone being that nice blanket for Aaron Rogers worth it at the tight end spot.
48:11Yeah. Yeah. This one is definitely more interesting to me than Gusecki, uh, five for 46 and a touchdown in this one.
48:17It was his best fantasy game since he had 28 points in week seven last season.
48:22That was the only game of 12 points all of last year.
48:25So that might say, wow, I might tell you to stay away.
48:28However, he was only on the field for 54% or his route participation.
48:32Cause sometimes your pass blocking is a tight end.
48:34His route participation was 54% last year, 72% in this game.
48:37That's a big number for a tight end. So when they're throwing the ball over 70% of the time he's running a
48:43route, that is a good sign that maybe he can get back into that tight end one conversation.
48:48So, uh, for me, mid range tight end two for now, but he's going the right direction.
48:53Possibly could get into that top 12 conversation. So as far as week one goes, I just want to run through really quickly priority targets at each position.
49:01If we were at the quarterback spot, Mike, we would both agree.
49:04Tyler Shuck would be the guy that we would be going after there from the running back spot.
49:09Kalen Black or Tyler Algier, which one would you go in with or neither of them?
49:14I would lean toward black, I guess, but it's really the answer is no stand-alone value.
49:18Okay. For the wide receiver spot. It sounds like Jalen Coker and Caleb Douglas are the two obvious at the top.
49:24They're the top two overall as well. Those are the guys I'll be looking at.
49:28Agreed. And then at the tight end spot, Kenyon Sadiq because of what we saw and the pedigree where they drafted him
49:34and what he could potentially be in an island position for us.
49:37Yes. Agreed. Sound good? That's it. Love that. Not, not the strongest waiver I we've had post week one, but there's some okay names.
49:44There's some names and there's enough names that we had to mention given what they did in week one.
49:49Like we said, the waiver wire will be tighter in the following weeks.
49:53We just want to make sure we get to as many people as we can.
49:57I think if you forget to do waivers in week one, you're like, oh, it's, you know, we're back here.
50:02It's the first week. Oh no, I forgot to do waivers.
50:05You're not going to, it's not going to crush you.
50:08Correct. You'll be all right. Other years, it would be a problem.
50:11Not this year. I should have had that one.
50:14You should have had that one in the bag.
50:16I'm not the best in the business. Yeah. I'm still in progress, you know.
50:20Them Bengals boys, PTO during fantasy football season. You know, I know.
50:24Who would do that? Who would dare? At least I save mine for preseason.
50:28Oh, is that? Okay. Yes. Like some people. Yes, exactly.
50:30Eugene's 203. Should I be worried about having Devonta Smith in two leagues?
50:34No, he'll be okay. He's going to have a big target share.
50:37They're going to feature him. They're going to move around the formation.
50:40Definitely will. He will not panicking on Devonta Smith just yet.
50:44No. And their schedule, by the way, remember, the regular season is outstanding.
50:47Yep. It does get very tough in the fantasy playoffs.
50:50So keep that in mind. After maybe a few good games, I mean, it's like your trade deadline and he's crushing it
50:56and he's wide receiver nine for the season or something.
50:59That's your time to maybe consider it if you're going for a title run.
51:03Agreed. Shout out to everybody in the chat, by the way, that joined us.
51:06Me and Eric Moody, mostly Eric Moody on Sunday.
51:09Sunday, fantasy-focused Sunday kickoff was a ton of fun being able to hang out and answer questions from you guys in chat.
51:15Go back and check it out again as a part of the second screen experience.
51:19Another one we have here from the mailbag, Birdmatic wants to know, do I panic on Drake London or is Panic's coming back stat?
51:26That is one guy we have not talked about yet, really.
51:29And Drake London, I mean, he was certainly clipped by the quarterback.
51:32This isn't Drake London's fault. Are you panicking going into week two if they don't have someone else under center?
51:38Week two? Yeah, probably a little. Okay. The squirt that came across your face as you thought about it.
51:43It depends who the quarterback is. If it's Tua, I feel fine.
51:46Tua, if you want to man, he's at least able to get the ball in the hands of his pass catcher.
51:52Agreed. Michael Penix, if he's back, which I thought, if you look at the projections now for week two, I have Penix
51:58in there because initially it sounded like he might go this week.
52:01Now it's sounding a little more pessimistic. So we'll see if it's, but again, if it's Tua or Panix, I'm fine.
52:07If it's Cooper Rush, I'm going to have to move him down a bit because that was.
52:12That was really bad. That was not great from Cooper Rush last week.
52:15And again, he didn't even really try to get it to him.
52:19He was just like, Bajon, Bajon, Bajon, literally over half the time.
52:22So not good. Panic long-term? No. Panic for week two.
52:25If Rush is the quarterback, yeah, we're going to move him.
52:28Potentially, yes. Yeah, with you on that. All right.
52:30One more question we have here from our chat.
52:33This one comes from Carnivore Lifestyle. Too many words.
52:35It did not fit on the screen. I won my knockout league by .3 points, avoiding elimination, Xavier Worthy.
52:41Well, I don't want to have you panic and ruin your day, but just keep in mind scoring adjustments come tomorrow morning.
52:47Oh, no. Make sure you check tomorrow morning. Oh, no.
52:49Although, how does that work? Wait, how does that work for knockout?
52:53That's a great question. All of your players were cut loose for the other team.
52:57So maybe scoring corrections are a non-factor in knockout.
52:59Good question, Michael. Think about that, actually. We'll have to look into it a little bit.
53:04That is interesting. But anyway, in other leagues, if you won by a couple points.
53:08Yeah. Scoring corrections Wednesday morning. You know, one of the people that might have helped you win by a couple points was
53:14one, Cole Komet, who was chosen as a Raheem Sanders Fund of the Week.
53:18Raheem Sanders Monopoly Fund. I took Cole Komet, found his way into the end zone, rostered in less than 1% of leagues.
53:24We are already starting out on fire. Honestly, even with the rest of these picks, Khalif Raymond didn't find the end zone, but he was so heavily utilized.
53:32We talked to him about him in the waiver wire section.
53:35Hutchinson was the two for Houston as well. He played a ton of snaps as we thought, which is why I went
53:41that direction, but he did not get near the end zone in that one.
53:45No, unfortunately not. Three great picks. Good call, though.
53:47Yeah. Killed it. Coming out firing. Love that. Some reaction on social because people just get it.
53:52Like, we just continue to hit these. You know, if we, I'd say if we get one every other week on average,
53:58that's a pretty darn good hit rate for these because they're usually like, what, 10 to 1 or 15 to 1.
54:04So maybe longer shots than that. So we're going to keep it rolling.
54:07We'll do it again on Thursday. I am very excited about that.
54:10By the way, Thursday, we got Lions and Bills.
54:13It's going to be a ton of fun Thursday night football this week.
54:17That's a good, good, good first real Thursday night game.
54:19That's a good Thursday night football game. The season opener is a little different, but this is the first like normal.
54:25Agreed. We're in the regular season cadence Thursday night football game.
54:28And usually it's like Browns and Jets or something.
54:31Yeah. Nope. Not this time. Not this time. No.
54:33What about the knockout league? We're going to do this real quickly.
54:36And next segment. Oh, no. You know what? This isn't, I know it's named after fantasy focus, but oh, oh, there we go.
54:43I thought it was me. Oh, no. Oh, good.
54:45All right. Fields Yates NFL knocked out with 56.3 points.
54:48I don't know why it has my name under there too.
54:51The team name is Field Yates NFL. I don't know who changed their field name or their team name to Field Yates NFL.
54:57No one would have definitely changed that immediately after being eliminated.
55:00Oh. Main. Yes. You know what? I don't care for the fact that I have to talk about one of my four knockout leagues.
55:07The other three, I did so good. But this one, absolute week one disaster.
55:11That's tough. I don't know if we have my roster, but I think actually, you know what?
55:16I think it's one. CMC. You had CMC taking on the Rams in Australia.
55:19He was my only, it's on the screen now.
55:22My only double digit point scorer was CMC. And that was the first guy that played.
55:26Holy smokes. I thought like, okay, well, my other guys will pick up the scraps here, right?
55:31Nay. That didn't happen. Let's start at the top.
55:34Yeah. Stafford with the dud, four points. Quinshawn Judkins, seven.
55:36Rasheed Rice last night, he made the play to get me in the end zone.
55:40He did. I thought I was going to get Tristan in advance.
55:44Agreed. But he only had two targets. It was really disappointing.
55:47DK Metcalf, eight. Sam Laporta, 9.8. Quinton Johnston. Wow.
55:49We were hoping for that one long pass. Seriously.
55:52Everyone thought it was coming in this game. Our buddy Joe Fortenbach called the longest pass for Herbert would be over, what, 34 and a half yards.
55:59That never came to fruition either. Yep. And he let me down.
56:03I thought he was a good week when flex.
56:05That was kind of the strategy going in. But, yeah, sometimes it just doesn't work out.
56:09You have short starting lineups. So if your guys let you down a little in week one, it's over in a hurry.
56:16And I'm out. I'm done. How many points did you lose by?
56:19Like one, one and a half. One. Something like that.
56:22It was Tristan. It was me or Tristan that were going.
56:25He had JK Dobbins and he snuck by. So if you had started Kalon Black over Quinton Johnston, you would have survived.
56:31Obviously, you would have never made that decision. By the way, if you check my bench to see who else I had.
56:37Oh, yeah. They were all bad, too. That's what I was looking at.
56:40I was looking to see if you could you have made a decision.
56:44Yeah. But not a real one. No, no, no.
56:46You wouldn't have done that. No one would have played both of the 49ers running.
56:51I did Rodriguez over Johnson. I just, you know what I did?
56:54I drafted poorly in this one. That's what I did.
56:57You know what? Apparently, drafting live on air is not my thing.
57:00It makes it tough, doesn't it? Yeah. It's because I lost in the regular focus league as well.
57:05I mean, I did win that one last year.
57:07Difference between this league and the regular focus league, Mike, is that now, unfortunately, that you have lost as the first team
57:13out in a knockout league, all of these players go out and hit the waiver wire for the rest of us in
57:20the league to be able to put in some bids on.
57:23So we have CMC and Rashi Rice and Quinshon Judkins available.
57:26Oh, my gosh. All right. That's rude. Keep in mind.
57:28Now, I got it. We got we just threw this up on.
57:32I got to say this for audio listeners at home.
57:34Our production team threw up a quick tweet. We don't need this from our YouTube chat, actually at ball knowledge.
57:40My mom drafted a better team than Mike's knockout.
57:42Keep in mind, this is an 18 team league.
57:45So I thought coming out of it. You don't know how big of a team, how big of a league that guy's mom is.
57:52You know what? You're right. She could be an expert.
57:54That's right. She could be. I don't. I think this team would have been fine after week one, to be honest.
58:00CMC. I think so, too. After week one. Stafford would have been much better.
58:04DK Mecca have had a ton of targets in that game.
58:07It's just. I mean, that's the game. This is the game we play.
58:11Yes. One bad week. One horrible week. It's over.
58:13Matthew Stafford will honestly. He will never have another game close to 4.1 points this year.
58:17And that was you had it in the wrong.
58:20I've been CMC's worst game. Rice's worst game. Judkins' worst game.
58:23Maybe. I could see. But a lot of these guys.
58:26Stafford, certainly. Most. That's the game. Most available players.
58:28And I don't have the list in front of me.
58:31We'll see it once it actually officially comes out.
58:34Most available players in knockout leagues. You got to think that Colston Loveland is also going to be on that list.
58:39Probably. Yeah. The other two leagues. The other two leagues are like our company leagues that we're in in knockout.
58:45Drake May and James Cook are both. Drake May and James Cook.
58:48They were both good options. On both of the teams that got knocked out.
58:52One was Rich Eisen's team actually. And the other one was Tristan as well.
58:56They both had those two players. That's the fun thing about knockout leagues is that you get these superstars available on waivers.
59:02And then you've got to decide how much do I want to go out and spend in my fab.
59:07Oh yeah, I only have to do waivers for 15 leagues.
59:10Okay. Okay, Michael. So joke's on you, sir. Do you have any final words as you depart the fantasy-focused knockout league, Michael?
59:16I'm going to get to bed five minutes earlier than you tonight because I have one less league to do waivers in.
59:22No, I'm mad about this team. I'm mad about this team.
59:25I thought it was fine. I thought it was fine and would get me through week one.
59:30I'm mad at the Chiefs for not calling up a few extra plays for Rasheed Rice because last night I was watching that one closely.
59:37You know what, though? You know what I will say about knockout leagues?
59:41It's fun. Tell me. Usually the first month or two of the season, I'm not sweating matchups too hard because you're like,
59:47all right, if I take it all this week, I'll bounce back next week.
59:51I'll get rolling. I felt like I had a playoff matchup last night against Tristan.
59:55Like I had the sweat of like a fantasy playoff matchup because it's like you lose your out.
60:00It was the sweat of a fantasy matchup. And you normally don't get that early in the season.
60:05And that's what I had last night. So that was fun.
60:08One of the fun things about this format is as you get closer in and you start getting closer to the playoffs
60:14too, you start, you get these super teams that are forming and it's a very fun format to be able to have.
60:20Luckily, I have a bunch of other ones. So I will continue to do my best and see if they go better.
60:26I just want to ask you though. You're in that league.
60:29How much are you bidding on CMC tonight? Bad question.
60:32I'm probably not going to bid a lot on CMC.
60:34It's going to be expensive. I will bid on Kalen Black though because he was on your squad.
60:39And I might even be able to get him for free, to be honest, in a league like this.
60:45We'll see. Remember, there's 17 teams. So you're bidding against 16 others.
60:48That's what's so difficult. And how much do you want to do?
60:51How early do you want to do it? Do you want to like load up to make sure you're good in the middle rounds?
60:58Are you just trying to be... We all think that we're going to be a little bit better than whoever the last place team is.
61:05Someone's unfortunately got to be last. Someone will spend most of their money on CMC, I would bet.
61:10Well, and this week against Miami. Yeah. I mean, great matchup this week here in week two.
61:14So... All right. Hey, fun show, Michael. Give me a fist bump.
61:18Yeah. That was awesome. All right. That's enough of this.
61:20Okay. Okay. Thanks for hanging out with Mike and I.
61:23Field's going to be back tomorrow. We'll talk week two rankings.
61:26A bunch of fun conversations as we try to figure out what was real and what wasn't real from week one.
61:32Don't forget to love each other and be kind to yourself.
61:35You guys, you deserve it. On behalf of Mike and I, we will see you tomorrow.
61:40Field, we're sorry about the liquor in your cabinet.
