A.J. Brown

NegativeInjury9:00

A.J. Brown is ineligible for another week and doesn't sound like he's going to play in week six either. His absence impacts Drake May's passing options this week.

Insight page
PositiveUsage45:54

A.J. Brown becomes a primary target for Jalen Hurts in the Eagles' London matchup against Jacksonville with multiple Eagles receivers potentially sidelined by injury (Devontae Smith, Dallas Goddard, Saquon Barkley), concentrating target share among remaining options.

Insight page

Aaron Jones

PositiveMatchup22:48

Over last three games with Jordan Mason out, Aaron Jones has 37 carries and 14 targets across two weeks, running at approximately 80% snap share. This week he faces the Saints, who have allowed the most yards, touchdowns, and fantasy points to running backs this season: 25-plus points to three running backs (both Robinsons last week, DeAndre Swift earlier), 17 to Derek Henry, and 21.7 combined to the two Raiders running backs. Great volume and great matchup make this a chase-worthy week.

Insight page
NegativeValue24:00

Aaron Jones is a sell-high candidate once Jordan Mason returns in the next week or two. Source values him as a fringe RB2 or flex play going forward. While he should be used this week, the wheels could fall off at any time once Mason returns, and his value will take a big hit.

Insight page

Aaron Rodgers

NegativeProjection7:30

Aaron Rodgers is ranked 17th among quarterbacks in Week 5 fantasy rankings.

Insight page

Bo Nix

NegativeProjection7:30

Bo Nix is ranked 14th among quarterbacks in Week 5 fantasy rankings.

Insight page

Brock Bowers

PositiveMatchup43:09

Bowers scored 28 points against New Orleans, demonstrating the Saints' vulnerability at tight end. This matchup result is cited as evidence that TJ Hawkinson and other tight ends should have strong performances against New Orleans in week 5.

Insight page

Brock Purdy

PositiveProjection7:00

Brock Purdy is tied for ninth among quarterbacks in Week 5 fantasy rankings.

Insight page

C.J. Stroud

NegativeProjection7:30

CJ Stroud is ranked 19th among quarterbacks in Week 5 fantasy rankings.

Insight page

Carnell Tate

NegativeProjection32:00

Carnell Tate had a quiet, concerning start to the season but is trending up. After 6 for 58 on 9 targets against the Giants two weeks ago, he exploded with 9 for 145 on 12 targets against the Ravens. His target share is now just under 30% (9th in the entire NFL), though it was 43% in Week 4. Main concern is finding the end zone: he has zero touchdowns so far with only one end zone target and an expected touchdown total of just 0.8 despite high volume. The Titans receivers have the easiest remaining schedule. This week he faces Houston, who has allowed the most fantasy points to wide receivers (44.6 per game) and at least 18 fantasy points to a receiver in every game this season. Tate should be locked in this week.

Insight page

Christian Watson

PositiveProjection33:30

Christian Watson is still in the source's consideration with target share in a third pass-heaviest Packers offense. However, source prefers Matthew Golden over Watson because Golden is peppered closer to the line of scrimmage with easier opportunities to use his athleticism.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

PositiveMatchup37:22

Loveland is the preferred start over Jock Pederson this week due to Pederson's lack of target volume; the source notes that with Loveland, 'that's a passable day' and they'll take it, expecting bigger games once Caleb returns.

Insight page
PositiveProjection40:57

Loveland makes the top 10 tight end rankings for Week 5, indicating he is viewed as a viable starting option at the position this week.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout44:03

Despite a slow start (2, 3, 4 targets in first three weeks), Loveland posted 9 targets last week (6 catches, 57 yards) and the source expects this elevated volume to be the new standard going forward. The source emphasizes Loveland's elite athleticism and talent at a position with few comparable athletes at the top level, and is rolling with him as a low-end TE1 despite the slow start, trusting the talent and hoping for continued involvement at the level shown in week 4.

Insight page

D.J. Moore

NegativeInjury28:27

DJ Moore is still awaiting word on his status for this week. He is dealing with a shoulder injury that has been aggravated this past week. He is ranked WR23 in Week 5 rankings.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

PositiveProjection25:00

Despite a declining box score (RB5 week one, RB16 week two, RB22 week three, RB37 week four; only one game over 12.9 fantasy points), DeAndre Swift remains the RB1 in the Eagles backfield. He is 8th in touches, 10th in scrimmage yards, and 4th among running backs with eight carries inside the five-yard line, securing goal line touches. The Packers have allowed eight total touchdowns to running backs (second most in NFL) and third most rushing yards, presenting a bounce-back opportunity. Swift will remain at least 50-50 in the backfield even if Kyle Menunga gets hot, as Swift is not going anywhere and will be involved in passing situations.

Insight page

Dak Prescott

PositiveProjection7:00

Dak Prescott is ranked eighth among quarterbacks in Week 5 fantasy rankings.

Insight page

Deebo Samuel

NegativeProjection28:48

Debo Samuel has 15 or more fantasy points in three of his four games this year, which doesn't feel sustainable. He has had some weird games, including one with zero targets for eight yards. He is ranked WR30 in Week 5 rankings and is on the flex radar this week.

Insight page

Deshaun Watson

NegativeProjection7:30

Deshaun Watson is ranked 16th among quarterbacks in Week 5 fantasy rankings.

Insight page
NegativeProjection47:02

Deshaun Watson's projection for the Jets matchup is elevated partly due to historical turnover tendency still factored into defensive projections; his efficiency projections are improving as the season progresses and sample size increases, but he retains some liability in turnover-prone areas given his mistakes early in the season.

Insight page

DeVonta Smith

PositiveInjury45:48

Devontae Smith could be out for the Eagles' Week 5 matchup against the Jaguars in London, creating uncertainty around his availability and target share.

Insight page

Drake Maye

PositiveProjection7:00

Drake May is tied for ninth among quarterbacks in Week 5 fantasy rankings; trending upward after strong performance last week where he was allowed to weaponize his elite rushing ability; fourth in the NFL in quarterback rushing yards and fifth in rushing attempts; posted over 50 rushing yards last week; faces the Raiders this week.

Insight page
PositiveProjection8:39

Drake May deserves to be inside the top 10 of quarterbacks this week despite missing A.J. Brown (ineligible) and Mac Hollins. The Raiders are middle of the pack (16th in fantasy points per game allowed to opposing QBs), and May has shown improvement after struggling through brutal first three matchups. The source notes that after this week, May faces very notable matchups against the Jets and Bears, but the current schedule is more palatable than his opening slate. With A.J. Brown's eventual return and schedule normalization, May could become a consistent top-6 to top-8 QB option.

Insight page

Emanuel Wilson

PositiveRole5:18

Emmanuel Wilson remains the lead running back for Seattle after the team did not sign Joe Mixon; ranked as a top 20 running back for Week 5 and the second most added player off waivers; positioned as low-end RB2/flex option for the short term.

Insight page
NegativeMatchup36:58

Wilson is the third choice in a PPR league start-two decision behind Judkins and Love; despite the source being a Wilson apologist due to situation, they still lean toward the other two guys.

Insight page
NegativeProjection37:00

In a mailbag question asking to start two of Quinchan Judkins, Jeremiah Love, or Emmanuel Wilson in PPR this week, the source is an apologist for Wilson because of the situation but would still lean toward Judkins and Love. Wilson is ranked in the top 20 this week because of the volume he's getting.

Insight page

George Pickens

PositiveBreakout30:00

George Pickens has had a bottom-five percentile outcome through four games despite strong underlying metrics: 9th in routes run, but only 24th in targets, 22nd in receptions, and 28th in receiving yards. He has only one end zone target, which needs to change given his size and talent. The Buccaneers have allowed a wide receiver to reach 20-plus fantasy points in two separate games this year (against Cleveland, Minnesota, and Green Bay), so this is not a scary matchup. Source believes Pickens' revenge tour begins Thursday night against Tampa Bay.

Insight page
PositiveProjection45:15

Pickens is projected to score three touchdowns in Dallas Cowboys' week 5 matchup against Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as part of a streaming defense recommendation for the Cowboys.

Insight page

Jacoby Brissett

PositiveProjection7:00

Jacoby Brissett breaks into the top 10 quarterback rankings for the first time this season at rank seven; he is a must-start this week against the Detroit Lions, a favorable matchup.

Insight page

Jalen Hurts

NegativeProjection7:30

Jalen Hurts is ranked 13th among quarterbacks in Week 5, outside the top 12 for the third straight week; has scored under 16.5 fantasy points in back-to-back weeks; the source suggests his performance is unlikely to improve soon; recommendation is to bench him rather than start him this week.

Insight page
NegativeMatchup45:00

Facing the Jaguars in London with significant offensive line injuries (Lane Johnson out) and potential absences of Devontae Smith, Dallas Goddard, and Saquon Barkley; forced to throw primarily to A.J. Brown, Zach Ertz, and DeVonta Smith, creating a challenging matchup despite the Eagles' demonstrated toughness and ability to stay competitive in difficult games.

Insight page

Jared Goff

PositiveProjection7:00

Jared Goff is ranked fourth among quarterbacks in Week 5 fantasy rankings.

Insight page
PositiveProjection11:03

Jared Goff is receiving positive attention in week five, with Mike Clay (known as a perennial Goff skeptic) giving him flowers this week. The source notes that Goff is typically not a lineup lock except when streaming, but this week appears to be an exception where he's being recommended.

Insight page

Jayden Daniels

PositiveProjection7:00

Jaden Daniels is ranked third among quarterbacks in Week 5 fantasy rankings.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

PositiveMatchup36:58

Love is the second-ranked start in a PPR league start-two decision over Emmanuel Wilson this week; the source agrees he should be started alongside Judkins.

Insight page
PositiveProjection37:00

In a mailbag question asking to start two of Quinchan Judkins, Jeremiah Love, or Emmanuel Wilson in PPR this week, the source recommends Love as one of the two starts.

Insight page

Joe Burrow

PositiveProjection7:00

Joe Burrow is ranked second among quarterbacks in Week 5 fantasy rankings.

Insight page

Joe Mixon

NegativeInjury6:18

Joe Mixon's foot injury that cost him all of 2025 appears to still be a problem in 2026; the source suspects his professional football career could well be over, making his potential signing by Seattle unlikely.

Insight page

Jordan Love

NegativeProjection7:30

Jordan Love is ranked 15th among quarterbacks in Week 5 fantasy rankings.

Insight page

Josh Allen

PositiveProjection7:00

Josh Allen is ranked first among quarterbacks in Week 5 fantasy rankings.

Insight page

Juwan Johnson

PositiveUsage41:21

Johnson is 5th among tight ends in routes run and targets, and 3rd in end zone targets, giving him consistent volume and red zone opportunity; he benefits from the Saints' pass-heavy offense (Tyler Shuck has 18 more passing attempts than any other QB in the league) and poor Saints defense that will likely continue to rely on passing.

Insight page

Kyler Murray

NegativeProjection7:30

Kyler Murray is ranked 12th among quarterbacks in Week 5 fantasy rankings.

Insight page

Lamar Jackson

NegativeInjury2:15

Lamar Jackson has a slim chance to play Sunday night against the Falcons; reporting indicates this could be a multi-week absence, making the present week very unlikely to happen. Mike Clay has already removed Lamar from projections, showing a zero by design.

Insight page

Mack Hollins

NegativeInjury9:11

Mac Hollins, who was discussed as a potential Patriots wide receiver one or two, doesn't sound like he would be available this weekend. This further depletes Drake May's receiving options.

Insight page

Mark Andrews

PositiveMatchup43:25

Andrews had at least 9.5 points against New Orleans, contributing to evidence of the Saints' vulnerability at tight end for week 5 matchups.

Insight page

Matthew Golden

PositiveProjection33:00

Matthew Golden has been great this year with 9th in targets and four straight games with six-plus targets. He has two weeks as a top-20 wide receiver, both with over 15.5 fantasy points. The Packers are the third pass-heaviest offense so far, and with running backs being weak, Jordan Love is forced to throw frequently. Source likes Matthew Golden more than Christian Watson because he is peppered closer to the line of scrimmage with easy stuff he can use with his athleticism. He is a flex consideration this week.

Insight page

Matthew Stafford

PositiveProjection7:00

Matthew Stafford is ranked sixth among quarterbacks in Week 5 fantasy rankings.

Insight page

Michael Mayer

PositiveMatchup43:17

Mayer scored against New Orleans, part of a pattern showing the Saints' defensive weakness at tight end in week 5.

Insight page

Michael Wilson

PositiveMatchup57:36

Michael Wilson faces the Lions, who have given up six games of at least 19.9 fantasy points to a tight end or wide receiver so far this year. Wilson has 30 targets over the last two weeks (most in the NFL) and is fourth in the NFL in targets overall. The source ranks him as an easy top-10 play this week against the vulnerable Lions secondary.

Insight page

Najee Harris

NegativeRole39:55

Harris is receiving minimal goal-line carries in New York; the source describes him as 'the husk of Najee Harris' and notes that the Jets are not seeding goal-line carries to him, instead relying heavily on Scadaboo who is 10th in the NFL in carries.

Insight page

Noah Fant

PositiveRole41:50

Fant's return from injury (he was a scratch Monday night against Atlanta) could slightly reduce Juwan Johnson's target volume; his status for the upcoming weekend is uncertain.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

PositiveProjection28:00

Puka Nakua returned last week and looked good, delivering one of the best performances of the weekend. He is ranked WR1 in Week 5 rankings.

Insight page

Quinshon Judkins

PositiveMatchup36:58

Judkins is the preferred start in a PPR league start-two decision over Jeremiah Love and Emmanuel Wilson this week; the source identifies him as the straightforward choice.

Insight page

Romeo Doubs

NegativeInjury9:16

Romeo Dobbs got hurt and is unavailable, removing another receiving option from Drake May's arsenal.

Insight page

Sam Darnold

NegativeProjection7:30

Sam Darnold is ranked 18th among quarterbacks in Week 5 fantasy rankings.

Insight page

Sam LaPorta

PositiveMatchup43:25

LaPorte had at least 9.5 points against New Orleans, part of the pattern showing Saints' tight end defense weakness for week 5.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeInjury45:54

Saquon Barkley could be out for the Eagles' Week 5 matchup against the Jaguars in London due to injury, creating uncertainty around his availability and workload.

Insight page
NegativeProjection55:41

In the Eagles' first four games this season, the best an Eagles running back has done is 11.9 fantasy points (Tank Bigsby); Saquon Barkley had two nine-point games in his two healthy games, significantly underperforming compared to Bears running back production. The source expresses lack of faith in Eagles running backs this season.

Insight page

Tank Bigsby

NegativeProjection55:41

Tank Bigsby has the best fantasy output among Eagles running backs so far this season with 11.9 fantasy points, which is significantly lower than Bears running back production (Kyle Monungay has topped 20 points twice in four games).

Insight page

Tee Higgins

NegativeInjury28:18

Tee Higgins is dealing with an adductor injury and is still day-to-day, but the source is feeling good about his status. He is ranked WR15 in Week 5 rankings.

Insight page

Trevor Lawrence

PositiveProjection7:00

Trevor Lawrence is ranked fifth among quarterbacks in Week 5 fantasy rankings.

Insight page

Trey McBride

NegativeRole43:13

McBride's historical target share with Kyler Murray is cited as precedent for Hawkinson's current volume: McBride averaged 27% target share in weeks 1–5 last season when healthy, and 30% for the full prior season, establishing a pattern of high tight end volume in Arizona's offense under Murray.

Insight page
PositiveRole57:36

Trey McBride is positioned as an every-week starter for the Cardinals, indicating consistent high-volume usage and role security.

Insight page

Tyler Huntley

NegativeProjection2:37

In 17 career games with 80%+ snap share, Huntley has posted 12 passing touchdowns and under 180 passing yards per game; while he adds value with his legs, the source notes that offensive projections for Baltimore scoring naturally decline going from Lamar Jackson to Huntley as the starter.

Insight page
NegativeProjection2:57

Tyler Huntley will take over as quarterback if Lamar Jackson is out. In 17 career games where he played at least 80% of snaps, Huntley has 17 total touchdowns (only 12 passing) and averages just under 180 passing yards per game. He can add value with his legs, but his passing production is limited.

Insight page

Will Shipley

PositiveUsage54:57

Will Shipley is expected to get more opportunities and touch the ball more than Kyle Monungay; the source notes Shipley will likely have more touches and snaps, though exact snap share is uncertain (possibly 45–70%), but acknowledges Shipley will play more volume despite potential efficiency concerns.

Insight page

Zach Ertz

NegativeRole43:25

Ertz's prior productivity with Kyler Murray is cited as historical evidence that Arizona's offense under Murray supports elite tight end production, establishing a pattern before Trey McBride's breakout.

Insight page
PositiveUsage45:54

Zach Ertz becomes a primary target for Jalen Hurts in the Eagles' London matchup against Jacksonville with multiple Eagles receivers potentially sidelined by injury (Devontae Smith, Dallas Goddard, Saquon Barkley), concentrating target share among remaining options.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

PositiveProjection2:40

Zay Flowers has been absolutely electric when playing, but Lamar Jackson's injury creates a discount on her value. The optimal version of Zay Flowers includes Lamar on the field; without him, there is a meaningful downgrade, though not enough to warrant removal from fantasy lineups entirely.

Insight page
PositiveProjection3:15

In two games with Tyler Huntley at quarterback last season, Zay Flowers averaged 13.6 fantasy points per game with one fine game, one pretty good game, and one average game; the source indicates Flowers should be fine despite the quarterback change.

Insight page
PositiveProjection58:00

Zay Flowers is ranked as a better play than Michael Wilson this week despite Lamar Jackson being unlikely to be available. Flowers is seventh in the NFL in run-after-catch per reception and fourth in the NFL in receiving yards. The source emphasizes getting the ball out quick to let Flowers do the heavy lifting, noting he has played hurt (45% of snaps in one game, missed second half of another) yet remains absolutely electric. The source advises not to be blinded by Wilson's trendy 30 targets over two weeks.

0:27My name is Daniel Dopp. Excited to dive into a very fun week 5 ranking show a lot on tap.
0:33How are you gentlemen doing today? Doing great, thank you.
0:36How are you? I'm doing great as well. Michael?
0:38I'm just fine. Just fine? I'm just fine today.
0:41Eight days up in? I think you're awesome. Oh, thank you.
0:44You're great. Well, now I'm better. That's what I was fishing for right there.
0:48And now I got it. You're awesome. And I made a fishing reference, so I made Daniel happy too.
0:53Yeah! You know what would make me happy? Head on over to our friends over at Trophy Smack.
0:58Use the promo code TROPHYWEEK5. You can use that in something like this for your belt to be able to give out
1:04to the winner of your fantasy league. Presumably it will be Mike in most of the leagues.
1:09That's what we think. Thank you. You're right. All right, guys.
1:12We got a couple things we're going to dive into today.
1:15Week 5 rankings I talked about. We got a bunch of stuff we're going to talk about there.
1:20Some very fun things. We got two teams on bye.
1:23So the first little bits of bye weeks are now upon us.
1:26We got a random ranking at the end of the show that is always going to be a good time.
1:32Yep. We're doing some fantasy face-offs. Last week it was me and Mike versus each other.
1:36Fields, you were the judge. This time it's going to be me and Field versus each other.
1:41And Mike is going to be the judge. I want to see which Daniel Dopp shows up because he evolved last week.
1:47He did. Very common kind at first. And then he was kind of in the middle.
1:52And the last week you were screaming. Well, it's because I didn't realize I was going up against the Terminator when I was going to be doing this.
2:00So I realized you did. I know. That's Mike.
2:02Yeah. The most pragmatic, thoughtful fantasy analyst on the planet.
2:05Yep. We got a little bit of news that we're going to get into before we dive into some rankings.
2:11Field, Yates, starting with one of the biggest quarterbacks we have in the league.
2:15Yeah. Lamar Jackson has a slim chance to play on Sunday night against the Falcons.
2:19Also reporting that this could be a multi-week absence.
2:21When there's reporting that it could be a multi-week absence, it makes you feel like the present week is very unlikely to happen.
2:28And Tyler, Tyler Huntley will take over as the quarterback if Lamar is out on Sunday night against the Falcons, the resurgent Falcons.
2:34Mike has already removed Lamar from the projection. So if you see a zero next to him, that is by design.
2:40The only player that this really impacts from a fantasy perspective is Zay Flowers.
2:44Yeah. How much of a discount can you put on Zay Flowers when the guy's been absolutely electric when he has been playing?
2:50Not enough for him to be outside of your fantasy lineups, but certainly the optimal version of Zay Flowers includes Lamar on the field.
2:57Yeah. Huntley's passing in his career, the numbers haven't been that great.
3:01I looked at his 16 games or 17 career games in which he's played at least 80% of the snaps, a total of 17 touchdowns.
3:08Only 12 were passing. The 12 passing touchdowns in 17 games, a little under 180 passing yards per game.
3:13We know he can add value with his legs.
3:15However, two of those games were last season and check this out.
3:19So Zay Flowers averaged 13.6 fantasy points per game, two fine games, one pretty good game, one average game.
3:24Derek Henry, 32.6 fantasy points per game. He had that one like four touchdown game.
3:28So yeah, I mean, I think you, you know, in the projections, obviously the offensive projection for their scoring goes down a little bit, right?
3:35Naturally, you're going from Lamar to Huntley, but they're going to give it to Henry as much as possible.
3:41He moved down a couple spots in my ranks, but he'll be fine.
3:44I'm with you. So Flowers and Derek should be fine.
3:47Just want to say that was awesome analysis. Thoughtful as usual.
3:50Very well put together. However. Oh, that's it. Thanks.
3:53Oh, that was really nice. By the way, I did get in my ear, Keith Lipscomb wanted me to tell you guys
3:59that his name is actually pronounced former Pro Bowl quarterback, Tyler Huntley.
4:02He didn't do the whole government name there. Yes.
4:05My apologies on this. You're right. Mike, you guys remember just before my shoulder exploded on the beach at Baja Mar.
4:11Yes. I took a photo with a guy wearing a suit.
4:14Oh, you probably did. Yeah. That's what it, that's in my head.
4:17I can't not think about that. Didn't Shudder make it last year?
4:20Or who went? Shudder make it last year. Yeah.
4:23Remember when Mac Jones biddy for like 70 yards?
4:25That was awesome. And you will not be surprised to learn that the Pro Bowl is now over.
4:30It's over. We're not doing it anymore. It's true.
4:33We jumped the shark and now it's over. Lane Johnson.
4:36Lane Johnson. Yeah. Shout out to Lane Johnson. What an awesome career.
4:39I mean, just one of the anchors of an elite, maybe the best offensive line play in the league over the past decade.
4:46I mean, they've been nothing. Shout out to that team.
4:48Jeff Stoutland, Howie Roseman, finding these players like Jordan Mailata and putting that together.
4:52It seems like it's going the wrong way now.
4:55Obviously with Lane retiring, the injuries, Landon's on IR and Cam Juergens is hurt right now.
4:59Jordan Mailata is getting older. Like those days might be behind us.
5:03The Eagles have a lot of work to do to fix things along that offensive line.
5:07And this is going to affect things. It already has so far this season.
5:11I didn't realize quite how bad their efficiency has been as a team this year because defense is underachieved a little bit too.
5:18If you combine offensive and defensive EPA, the Eagles are 31st in the NFL.
5:2231st in the NFL. 27th offensively, 26th defensively. Titans ahead of them or Titans behind them, I guess I should say.
5:27I think offense. Good question. Is it Miami? I thought it was Miami.
5:31Yeah. But yeah, it's been a rough go. If you look at, obviously this is going to affect offensive line play.
5:37At some point they'll get Landon Dickerson back, but they're already 9th in pass block win rate this season, which is fine,
5:43but 27th in run block win rate. And that's the more notable one because we've seen that.
5:48They're really struggling to get their running game going.
5:50So I'm concerned about this. I have major concerns about the Eagles due to poor offensive efficiency going back to last year,
5:57but also the injuries are just really piling up.
5:59Now you lose Lane. It might be a long season for Philly.
6:02Yep. One quick thing from me. Great analysis by Mike, by the way.
6:06It was great analysis. Thank you. Great job, Michael.
6:09Agreed. Thank you. Seattle. Are you just buttering up the judge for later on in the show?
6:13Why would you just say that? All right. Interesting.
6:16Seattle really quickly. The old bait and switch made us think that maybe they were going to sign Joe Mixon.
6:21Surprise. No, they're not. It is still going to be Emmanuel Wilson.
6:25He's ranked as a top 20 running back for us this week.
6:28The second most added player off of waivers. So for now, more short term than long term, but Emmanuel Wilson going to
6:34stay in the low end RB2 flex radar for us.
6:37Foot injury that cost Joe Mixon all of last year, a very surprising, not surprising, but a very mysterious injury that cost
6:43him 2025 appears to still be a problem in 2026.
6:46I kind of assumed Joe Mixon was done playing professional football.
6:49Then this past week, it's like, oh, maybe not.
6:52The answer might be that yes. In fact, Joe Mixon's career could well be over.
6:56All right. Let's dive into the week five rankings.
6:58We're going to start at the quarterback position. Yay.
7:01A reminder, we got two teams on by this week.
7:04We're talking about the Carolina Panthers and the Kansas City Chiefs.
7:07So no Patrick Mahomes. Obviously, no Bryce Young, who has been fantastic to start the season.
7:11One through 10. We got Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Jaden Daniels, Jared Goff, Trevor Lawrence, Matthew Stafford, Jacoby Brissett at seven.
7:17Dak Prescott at eight. And Drake May and Brock Purdy tied there at nine.
7:21Jacoby Brissett, first time inside the top 10. And taking on the Detroit Lions in a great conversation right there.
7:27So he is a must start this week against the Lions, 11 through 20.
7:31Tyler Shuck, Kyler Murray, Jalen Hurts, Bo Nix, Jordan Love, Deshaun Watson, Aaron Rodgers, Sam Darnold, CJ Stroud, and Tyson Bajan.
7:37That rounds out the top 20. Jalen Hurts outside the top 12 again, guys.
7:41This is three straight weeks under 16 and a half fantasy points.
7:44Back to back bad weeks. Doesn't feel like it's going to get any better anytime soon, unfortunately.
7:49I forget her name. I think it's Marie Quando.
7:51I bet our producer Addison knows. She had the Netflix, the popular Netflix show where she would come in and she would organize your house.
7:58Yes. And if it brought you joy, you would keep it.
8:01Yes. And if it didn't, you would throw it away.
8:04Does Jalen Hurts bring you joy to starts right now?
8:07No. Not throwing him away isn't going to the waiver, but like put him on the bench.
8:12He's on the bench. Now is an easy way to think about the Jalen Hurts start sit conversation.
8:17Is Drake May still on the bench or did what he did last week elevate him into potential starting?
8:22Trending him back up. Trending up is Drake May.
8:25The thing that I liked the most from Drake May, other than the fantasy points this past weekend, was that I thought
8:31that Drake May was allowed to weaponize his legs.
8:33He's an elite, elite athlete for a quarterback. He can really do damage as he is now fourth in the NFL amongst
8:39quarterback rushing yards, fifth in quarterback rushing attempts, over 50 rushing yards last week.
8:43And they now draw the Raiders, which kind of a hard defense to figure out exactly how good they are or are not.
8:50They play the Dolphins. So 25% of their games this season have come against the Dolphins.
8:54That right away gives you some pause about how real they are or are not.
8:58The Chargers also on their ledger. That offense stinks.
9:01The Saints, a team that I think has offensive talent but gets in their own way.
9:05And the Chiefs, who put up 30 plus points against the Raiders last week.
9:09So they got the job done largely on the ground.
9:12The Raiders are middle of the pack. They are 16th in fantasy points per game allowed to opposing quarterbacks.
9:18All of these are round ways of me to say, I don't exactly know that this is a defense that we should be scared of for Drake May.
9:25I also don't think this is like Drake May facing off against the Lions this upcoming weekend.
9:30The most fantasy points scored by a quarterback in the four games so far this season?
9:35Tyler Shuck, who had 23.8 in week three. Some of that was playing from behind, what the Saints often do.
9:40But of note, Drake May could well be down, not just A.J.
9:44Brown, who's ineligible for another week. And it doesn't sound like he's going to play in week six, but we'll get to that in week six.
9:51But Mac Hollins, who we talked about as like maybe the Patriots wide receiver one or two last week.
9:56And he was, along with Romeo Dobbs, until he got hurt.
9:59Doesn't sound like Mac Hollins would be available this weekend.
10:02So even against an okay defense, even without his weapons, I still think that Drake May deserves to be inside the top 10 of quarterbacks.
10:09And you love to see it because after this, Drake May does have a couple of very, very notable matchups for QBs.
10:15The Jets and the Bears amongst the teams around the corner for the Patriots.
10:19Yeah, love it. We hope that he would get through them first three games, which were brutal matchups.
10:24And he obviously struggled and kind of turned the corner against more palatable at the very minimum defenses.
10:29And so far, so good. That's one. Let's see if we can do it again this week.
10:34Don't think we're quite at the point where we can say, you know, Drake May, if we redrafted quarterbacks right now, would be quarterback two, three or four.
10:42But A.J. Brown returns, schedule. I'm not saying softens up to the point where it was last year, but just is a little more league average.
10:49And Drake May could easily be a guy that we just stop talking about where we rank him.
10:54It's just assumed that he's going to be somewhere in that first six to eight of QBs.
10:59Field and I are in a group chat with a bunch of Michigan men.
11:03And Mike Clay is known as a perennial Jared Goff hater.
11:06Yes. Except for here in week five, it appears, in which he's getting some flowers, my friend.
11:11Yeah. We talk about Goff as not a lineup block pretty much ever, except for when we're streaming.
11:16You know, when we're streaming, Matt, do you have a question?
11:19Well, I was just going to say in that same group chat where the rest of the group calls you a Jared Goff hater.
11:26I knew this was going to happen. I call you a handsome Jared Goff optimist.
11:30Yes. Hold on. And just generally kind, well-intentioned individual.
11:32I'm keeping score of compliments for a leader. So four-nothing lead here for Field.
11:36I'm not complimenting. I'm just stating facts. Wow. Well, hey, I like it.
11:40I keep track of this mentally and on paper now.
11:43Leading the witness. There's so many I can't keep track.
11:46Anyway, yeah, big Jared Goff streaming fan. We talked to, you saw Jacoby Pruset there too.
11:50Both Goff and Pruset are streaming options this week.
11:53First of all, Goff has been good lately. 19-plus fantasy points in three straight games.
11:57Nine touchdown passes this year. Zero interceptions. So he's really protected the ball well.
12:01And the passing volume has been exactly what you need for him to hang in the streaming conversation.
12:06Top five and pass attempts. Completions, yards, and touchdowns so far.
12:09Those all seem to matter in fantasy. Last time I checked, so pretty huge.
12:13And of course, Arizona, they've allowed the most passing touchdowns so far this season with 11.
12:17Also, 9.1 yards per pass attempt allowed. That is highest in the NFL.
12:21It has been brutal for that defense. Goff in a terrific spot in which should be one of the highest scoring games of the week.
12:28I think it's important to think of the Cardinals defense very similarly to the Miami defense, except that the Miami offense can't score at all.
12:35And the Cardinals offense can score. So teams actually have to try throwing the football against Arizona.
12:40It's even more pressure on them. No doubt. So it's better for the quarterbacks facing Arizona as opposed to the quarterbacks facing Miami, as we have seen.
12:47Like Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, they ended up winning that game perhaps a little closer than we anticipated, but Mahomes didn't
12:53light it up because they barely had to throw the ball compared to where he was against Indianapolis the week prior to that.
13:00Yeah. I want to talk about Brock Purdy, if you guys don't mind, because he's been unbelievable to start this season.
13:06But guess what? This week, he gets the Seattle Seahawks.
13:08They have been really good against quarterbacks so far this year.
13:12Only one quarterback has topped 9.8 fantasy points. Not 19.8.
13:149.8 fantasy points. Wasn't it Jacoby Brissett in week three?
13:17It was, in fact, Marcus Mariota. Oh, I'm sorry.
13:20That's right. He was great. He threw for 186 yards and had three passing touchdowns.
13:24That's why there's not a single quarterback that has even thrown for 190 yards against them so far this year.
13:30They have been unbelievable. They have as many interceptions as a defense as they've allowed touchdowns to be thrown against them.
13:35So it's been touchdowns or busts right now for quarterbacks.
13:38Because luckily, Brock Purdy has thrown multiple touchdowns in every single game so far this season.
13:43He's actually second amongst quarterbacks in total touchdowns. So even though it's a really, really tough matchup, Brock Purdy has been good
13:49enough that I think you can still roll with him here against the Seattle Seahawks.
13:53We're just lowering our expectations rather than having him as like a top five-ish guy.
13:57He's more like quarterback 8 to 10-ish for us here.
14:00A low-end QB1, but still someone you can start against Seattle.
14:03I'll say it scares the heck out of me.
14:06Oh, of course it does. To the point where I don't know that I feel, and I have him as quarterback 11,
14:12I don't know how likely QB11 is for Brock Purdy to finish.
14:15I don't mean specifically quarterback 11. I mean somewhere in that 8 to 12 range.
14:19Do you guys recall Brock Purdy in back-to-back weeks during the fantasy playoffs last year finishing his QB1?
14:24Yes. Massive. Do you recall what happened against the Seattle Seahawks the following week?
14:28Yes. He did a bad job. Absolutely drubbed. Yes.
14:31He did like we call the end time my clay.
14:34Like he was just awful in every way. As opposed to excellence in every way.
14:38I like when I get that line through the four lines.
14:41Yes, there's the five. The five now. It's the five.
14:44Feeling good. So, yes. So, Brock Purdy was not good.
14:47And I know that things change from year to year.
14:49And the Niners have some new pieces. The Seahawks have a few pieces on defense that either are playing bigger roles or are new entirely.
14:56A lot of familiarity between these two sides. Mike McDaniel.
14:59This will be Mike McDonald, excuse me, will be his fifth regular season matchup against Brock Purdy.
15:04And the personnel is a huge part of it.
15:06But Mike McDonald knows how to scheme it up against this San Francisco 49ers offensive approach.
15:11So, I still have him as quarterback 11. Yep.
15:13But he's the, I am scared of what the outlook could be or what the output could be on Sunday.
15:19Yeah. And Purdy's had some good historical games against Seattle.
15:22And that includes 20, 24, 8, 18 plus fantasy points in both.
15:25And then the first meeting last year, he had 16.
15:28But he had two interceptions in that game. So, he got 16 out of him.
15:32I mean, if you started any quarterback against Seattle and got 16, you were probably like, all right, I'll take it.
15:38But not great. And then to your point, two games, including the playoff game, 5.2 points and 5.3 points.
15:43So, it's a tough spot. Very, very high risk this week.
15:47Four games into the season, Brock Purdy is on the incredibly short list of quarterbacks that has actually delivered for you for straight weeks.
15:53So, that's the reason why I have confidence. But I agree with you guys on all of the Seattle concern.
15:59We've said it, though, since week one when we were talking about Drake May and all the other guys with hard matchups.
16:05Like, it's Josh Allen. And he's on his own.
16:08Even if you move him down, it's still to, like, the middle of QB1.
16:12That's as far as he'll go. But everyone else is up for grabs for where you rank him, depending on the matchup.
16:18Many people's first serious relationship didn't start with a kiss.
16:20It started with a kickoff. Or perhaps it was love at first hike.

17:32Let's dive into some running back rankings here for week 5.
17:351 through 10. Jameer Gibbs. Bajon Robinson. Jonathan Taylor.
17:37Derek Henry. Kyron Williams. Christian McCaffrey. Ashton Gentey. Javante Williams.
17:40Chase Brown and James Cook. That is 1 through 10.
17:4311 through 20. Aaron Jones. Brees Hall. Bucky Irving.
17:45Jeremiah Love at 14. Disappointing he's not higher with how much he has been a part of that offense.
17:51But they've just given too much love to Tyler Algier as well, unfortunately.
17:54Jalen Warren. Quinchan Judkins. DeAndre Swift. Basial Tootin. And Emmanuel Wilson with Cam Skadaboo.
17:58Rounding out the top 20 guys. That list does not feel great.
18:02And in case you didn't love that, you're going to love this one even more.
18:0621 through 30 at running backs. Ramondre Stevenson. Tony Pollard.
18:09David Montgomery. RJ Harvey. Omari and Hampton. Has fallen all the way to RB25 given the now what kind of seems to
18:15be a potential committee approach based on Mike McDaniel in the backfield.
18:18Just does not feel good. And they have Denver.
18:21Yes. And they have Denver. It's just really, really not great.
18:24Who do you guys want to start with? Field, do you want to go with Basial Tootin?
18:29Have you decided who he is? No. And that's kind of why I wanted to bring him up.
18:34I think he might just be the player that I feel the least grip on as far as what he is and
18:40how I should be ranking him in fantasy football.
18:42Yeah. So I've just kind of put him in the middle of the running back.
18:47Yep. So RB17 is the consensus rank. And I'm at RB19.
18:50Um, let's look at some of the indicators. 50.7% of the snaps.
18:53Not ideal. Yeah. Not ideal, right? That's okay. Like that's your, you're not for a lineup lock running back.
18:58No, you're off the field as much as you're on the field.
19:02Basically crazy volume in the passing game. Nope. Negative.
19:04Guaranteed to get goal line opportunities. Nope. Also a negative.
19:07Um, but there are some good things here. There are some things we like, you know, he's run the football effectively this year, especially compared to last year.
19:15His yards per attempt is up nearly a full yard.
19:18It's up from 3.7 to 4.6 so far. That's great.
19:20The season. And you guys probably recall in one of the reasons why Tootin was this trendy, buzzy player leading into the
19:27draft is what he lacked in size. He made up for in speed and explosiveness.
19:31And it's like, this guy is a home run waiting to happen.
19:34Well, last year he had a 10 plus yard run in three out of 17 games played.
19:39So I wouldn't exactly say he was much of a home run hitter for Jacksonville last year.
19:44Sure. Still hasn't ripped off some, you know, 55 yard touchdown run for them this season, but he does have a 10
19:50plus yard run in every game this year. So we're at least trending up, seeing a little bit more of the explosive
19:56runs from Tootin, running better just in general and running back feels disastrously thin this season.
20:01I know we talk about it all the time and I'm probably being a prisoner of the moment, but this one feels, this year feels really gnarly.
20:08I mean, it's like, what point on that list?
20:11And I understand we have no Chuba Hubbard and no Kenneth Walker III.
20:14Yep. But if we had Tootin at 17 and we all are aligned, I'm like, that doesn't feel great.
20:20How far down the list do you have to get before the part where you're like, it doesn't feel great occurs?
20:25I think I texted you guys Monday when I was doing my first run and I was like, RB 10 or 9?
20:32Honestly. Exactly. Like this could be, this next guy could be 11 or 28.
20:36Like it's, it's pretty gross. It's a gigantic tier of a lot of guys that have a lot of problems right now.
20:42Like running back 11 to your point, you said, is Aaron Jones this week?
20:46Like, do you really feel like Aaron Jones is a borderline top 12 running back?
20:50Like this week with the matchup, but like, does he give you, does the name Aaron Jones give you that kind of satisfaction as a fantasy manager?
20:57The name doesn't, but the 25 touches I'll have against a bad Saints defense will.
21:02So that's why he is that high. But yeah, some of the names behind him, you're like, man, I wish we could rank love higher.
21:09I wish we could rank Judkins higher and so forth and so on.
21:12Emmanuel Wilson's in our top 20 this week because of the volume he's getting.
21:16But I do want to make one more point on Tootin, which is this is going to, this is what's going to define his season.
21:23I think so far this season, Jacksonville has trailed on 2% of their offensive snaps.
21:27Yeah. 2%. So he's already been off the field half the time and they, and they don't have to throw the ball very much.
21:34So what happens in more competitive games? Is he going to be out there?
21:38And well, if they have to throw more, maybe he does get an extra target or two.
21:43And he's fine in fantasy on top of what he's doing as a rusher, but that rushing volume will come down in those circumstances.
21:50But if there are more competitive games and they're throwing out LaQuint Allen and Amir Abdul, who by the way, are already playing.
21:56They're using four running backs. It's gonna be a big problem for Tootin's.
22:00He's just going to have too many dud weeks right now.
22:03He's really relying from a bonus, basically, of like three or four carries a game because they're always ahead.
22:08They're just always ahead or tied in games. So that's what's going to kind of determine him.
22:13I agree. For now, he's a back-end RB too.
22:15And that's why he's not a lineup block for me right now.
22:19Most weeks, there's two starting running backs because of buys and then multiple running backs as injuries out this week that obviously boosts them a little bit.
22:26Much like Aaron Jones so far this season. Mike, you've been great on Fantasy.
22:30Do you want to dive into Aaron Jones? Six-nothing.
22:33Terrible. This is getting out of control. Seriously. So one-sided.
22:36So one-sided. My turn? Yes. All right. I'm going to talk about Aaron Jones.
22:39Hey, you just brought him up. Well done. Well, I'm going to give you a point just for seamlessly.
22:45Thank you. Seamlessly getting right to that. I appreciate that.
22:48I got one. Well done. Aaron Jones, last three games.
22:50Here's his touches and his yards. Keep in mind, no Jordan Mason.
22:54Mason. 23 for 105, 22 for 92, 24 for 198 in his most recent game.
22:58Also had a touchdown back in week one. So he's been solid so far.
23:02We sort of saw this coming after week one.
23:04We said, look, Aaron Jones is in his 30s.
23:07He can't do this all season. But the next month while Mason's out, they're probably going to run him out there maybe 80% of the time.
23:14And that's exactly what has happened. He has 37 carries and 14 targets just over the last two weeks.
23:20If that's not enough to get him in the RB1 conversation, he draws the Saints who have allowed the most yards and
23:26touchdowns and fantasy points to running back so far this season.
23:29They've allowed 25 plus to three running backs already.
23:31Both Robinsons last week and then DeAndre Swift earlier this season.
23:34Also gave 17 to RJ or to Derek Henry.
23:37Also gave 21.7 combined to the two Raiders running backs who kind of had, I think, Mike Washington scored that week.
23:43So they were kind of even. But great matchup.
23:45Great volume. How do you not chase this this week?
23:48So my. Good try. Good try, bud. Good try.
23:51Good try. Thank you. Yes. Woo! Aaron Jones. Thank you.
23:53Thank you. It's an honor. I'm almost verklempt at how good that was.
23:57That was a lot. I'm giving you two points for that.
24:00That's a two point for verklempt. That's a two pointer.
24:03Yeah. Six to three. We've got a battle. Yeah.
24:06When you do the slow clap into the verklempt, it's always worth two points.
24:09Yeah, yeah. Question for you guys. And I don't think you can pull this off because we just talked about how gnarly running back is.
24:16But I think Jordan Mason's back in the next week or two.
24:20Yeah. And that'll change things. Change it enough. Do you take your opportunity to sell high on Aaron Jones?
24:25Absolutely. If you have the ability, if someone needs him, if someone without Ken Walker is looking for a running back this
24:31week and you think maybe you could just, you know.
24:34Really interesting. I would value him as like a fringe RB2, maybe a flex, I would say something along those lines.
24:40That's what I would view him as. So yeah, if he can get more than that, especially if someone's really desperate at running back.
24:47I mean, look, it's a weekly game. You want to use them this week, but I mean, the wheels could fall off at any time.
24:54And once Mason's back, his value is going to take a big hit.
24:57Quick question. Have the wheels fallen off DeAndre Swift?
25:00I don't think so. Okay. Because when you look at his box score, and if you're just a box score looker, it doesn't feel great.
25:07Tell us more. RB5, week one. RB16, week two.
25:09RB22, week three. RB37, week four. Only one game over 12.9 fantasy points this year.
25:14It's not great. That was that week one 59-point barrage.
25:16But here's the thing that you love. He's still eighth in touches.
25:20He's still 10th in scrimmage yards. He's fourth amongst running backs with eight carries inside the five-yard line.
25:25He's getting goal line touches. I understand that this is one of those situations where like last week he fumbled the ball.
25:31They went with the hot hand. I think this is part of the things.
25:35It hasn't worked out quite the same way that Ben Johnson did it in Detroit.
25:39But I do think that there will be weeks where if Kyle Menunga is cooking the same way that David Montgomery was
25:45some weeks, they're just going to let him roll until there's a reason not to.
25:49So you may be kind of picking and choosing.
25:52DeAndre Swift is still the RB1 in this backfield.
25:55They utilize him that way. They think about him that way.
25:58Regardless of what you see in the box score, I still think he's the RB1.
26:02And by the way, even though one running back has topped 15 fantasy points against the Packers, it was Bijan with 35.3.
26:08They've still allowed, even though one running back has topped 15, they've allowed eight total touchdowns to running backs so far, second
26:14most in the NFL, and the third most rushing yards to running backs.
26:18So this is a really nice potential bounce back opportunity for DeAndre Swift.
26:21Yeah, I think the only risk with Swift is if they decide, look, Kyle Menunga is the hot hand for real now,
26:28and he's going to just take control of this backfield as a rusher.
26:31Swift isn't going anywhere, though. He's going to have a role, and he'll be involved certainly in passing situations.
26:37But, you know, there's a chance that they're like to even it out a little bit more.
26:41Kind of what everyone wants to happen with the Rams.
26:44Right. Like we want more. Everyone wants more Blake Horum.
26:47I don't think that's correct, but I mean, that's what everyone's kind of been fishing for.
26:51But we did see in Carolina last year. Granted, Hubbard was a little beat up, but that's Rico Dowdle was the hot
26:58hand, and they just rode him a little bit more.
27:00That's the only risk, I think, with Swift, but he's not going, he's not going to disappear.
27:05He's going to remain at least 50-50, I think.
27:08Agreed. I'm wondering if like a good, I think Butter would be a good new nickname for you.
27:13You say things, it's just so smooth. So smooth.
27:15It's both, it's articulate, it's smooth. Before we move on.
27:18Now he's going too far. I might have to take a point away.
27:22Before we move on to wide receivers, let's do a quick check-in in the control room very fast because we got something going on in there really quickly.
27:30We're up to seven. Wow. Oh, wow. Overly gratuitous compliments.
27:32We're at seven right now for field. Okay. Okay.
27:35All right. Only two for Daniel. Only two. I don't know.
27:38I'd give him three because, uh... Well, one of them was a...
27:41One was a two-parter. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Appropriately a good two-adjust.
27:44All right. I would kind of rank it myself.
27:47Well, you have time, Daniel. It's 1026. Yeah. That's great.
27:50You have about 10 more minutes, I would say.
27:52New clone, by the way? Let's dive into wide receivers.
27:55Nope. Wide receivers 1 through 10 here in week 5.
27:58Puka Nakua, wide receiver number 1. He came back last week, guys.
28:01Looked pretty good at football. I thought, but other than Mike, I thought it was the best performance of the weekend.
28:07Dang it! I can't set you up like this.
28:10Jackson Smith and Jigba, Jamar Chase, Amon Ross St.
28:12Brown, CeeDee Lamb, Justin Jefferson, Chris Olave, Drake London, and Nico Collins with Michael Wilson.
28:16That rounds out your top 10. An unbelievable list of studs.
28:1911 through 20. Zay Flowers, Devontae Adams, Garrett Wilson, T.
28:22Higgins dealing with that adductor injury. Still day-to-day. Feeling good about it, though.
28:26Malik Neighbors. Parker Washington, Christian Watson, George Pickens, Carnell Tate, and Matthew Golden.
28:30That rounds out your top 20. 21 through 30.
28:32Terry McLaurin, Mike Evans, DJ Moore. Still awaiting word on what he's going to be for this week.
28:37Obviously dealing with that shoulder injury that has been aggravated this last week.
28:41Luther Burden at 24. DK Metcalf, Jalen Waddell, Josh Downs, Denzel Boston, J-Mo, and Debo Samuel.
28:45Rounding out the top 30. There you go. Debo Samuel has 15 or more fantasy points in three of his four games this year.
28:52Doesn't really feel sustainable, but he's looked really good.
28:54So he's in that flex radar this week. One of those games, he had zero targets for eight yards.
29:00Exactly. He's had some weird things. Such a great point.
29:03I couldn't quite remember what the stat was, but Mike, as always, Johnny Hunt.
29:07Talk about George Pickens. This is my favorite show the whole season.
29:10We'll discuss this game in more days tomorrow. I'm going to be the judge every week from now on.
29:15Yes, I'll bet you are. I'll bet. George Pickens game's coming tomorrow night.
29:19You think so? I think so. That's the unlock?
29:21I am. That's the what? Unlock? Unlock. Unlock. I'm okay.
29:24I didn't know if that was like a betting lock.
29:27No, no, no, no. Is that like a thing kids say or something?
29:31No. We're just finally unlocking George Pickens in 2026 for fantasy football.
29:34That sounds like something they would say, though. We're doing it.
29:37I'm pretty cool. You're the unlock. What is that?
29:40I don't know what that means. Did I just?
29:42If you say it, I know it's cool. Did I just start a trend?
29:46No. Dang it. Did Mike start it? I think you did.
29:49Go ahead. You said it. George Pickens game's coming tomorrow night.
29:52Some of the just like, just the straight, just the brass tacks of it all is solid.
29:57Ninth in routes run, 24th in targets, 22nd in receptions, 28th in receiving yards.
30:01I feel like George Pickens has had a bottom five percentile outcome of what his season could be through four games.
30:07I agree. So far this year. I think this is a balance of CeeDee Lamb is amazing and also George Pickens just getting weirdly unlucky.
30:14He has only one end zone target and that's got to change.
30:17He's George Pickens. He's gigantic. He is massive and deserves more opportunities near the end zone.
30:22They play the Buccaneers tomorrow night. Is anybody scared of this Buccaneers team at all?
30:26No. Not at all. The Buccaneers have allowed a wide receiver to reach 20 plus fantasy points in two separate games this year.
30:32And it's not like they played a bunch of like juggernaut offense.
30:36Over the last weeks, they faced Cleveland, Minnesota and Green Bay.
30:39And they have allowed a wide receiver to get the 20 plus fantasy points in two of those three games.
30:44So I ain't worried about the Buccaneers. George Pickens making his mark tomorrow night.
30:48I think the Pickens revenge tour begins on Thursday.
30:51Is it the last two weeks that we had?
30:53So last week, obviously, CeeDee Lamb had 21 targets.
30:56Basically, it was the entire offense. Was it the week before that that Javante had three touchdowns?
31:01He had three touchdowns this past game. This past game.
31:03Okay. Oh, oh. It was both of them together?
31:06Yeah, they both went on. I did not realize.
31:08Honestly, like between, if you take the aggregate dominance from Javante Williams and CeeDee Lamb, it just reminds you of like a daily output from my class.
31:16Wow, we're up to 10. Ding, ding, ding. Ding, ding, ding, ding.
31:19Yeah. You're not going to come back on that.
31:22I don't think so. I don't think so. You're playing at a distance.
31:26I can be bought. So this is a problem.
31:28I can be bought. I love that. This is a problem for you.
31:32Did you get my gift card, by the way, before the show?
31:35I didn't get that yet. Oh, no. You can just give me stuff out of your wallet.
31:40Why don't you go? Why don't you talk about Carnel Tate?
31:43Yeah, Carnel Tate, a very quiet, concerning start to this season.
31:46Not his fault, necessarily, but very quiet start. But trending.
31:49Hold on. Why do you carry so much cash in your pocket, Daniel?
31:52Dude. This is great. You're getting lots of points for these.
31:56Why do you have so much cash? $60. How many points is $60 worth?
31:59One of us is a baller, that's why. This is what he walks away.
32:03How many points is this worth? We've got to figure this out.
32:0712. Someone run the numbers. I think 12. One more than however many I have.
32:11Yeah, whatever it is. Anyway, Carnel Tate, fellas. Was 6 for 58 on 9 targets against the Giants two weeks ago, and
32:17then comes out big time against the Ravens. 9 for 145 on 12 targets.
32:21That's what we want to see out of a top 5 draft pick in the NFL draft.
32:26His target share now is just a hair under 30%.
32:29It's 9th in the entire NFL. It was 43% in Week 4.
32:32The main concern with him going forward is, will he find the end zone?
32:36Is this a guy that's going to have two touchdowns by season's end?
32:40Because the offense isn't very good. He has zero touchdowns so far.
32:43He is one end zone target and his expected touchdown total, even with all that volume, is 0.8.
32:48We need more work near the goal line if he's going to get his game to the next level.
32:53I do have the Titans receivers with the easiest remaining schedule.
32:56This is based on the first month of the season.
32:59Love that. So more on that, I think, tomorrow.
33:02But that's appealing for Tate. And they're playing Houston this week, who generally or usually we would think this would be a brutal matchup.
33:08It has not been so far. What are those fantasy points with wide receivers?
33:12The most 44.6 per game. They've allowed at least 18 fantasy points to a receiver in every game so far this season.
33:19So, Carnell Tate, you just have to look at the facts four weeks in.
33:22That was great. This is a matchup that can be had.
33:26The Texans are struggling. Tate should be locked in.
33:28Last night, you actually sent an email with your strength of schedule.
33:31I drew a real nice bubble bath and had a nice glass of Savvy B.
33:36And I actually just read through the PDF. And it was...
33:39Isn't that PDF cool, though? Intoxicating. Yeah. Yeah. It really is.
33:42It was really dope. Check it out. I posted it on Twitter yesterday.
33:45It's on the website, ESPN.com. It has just like the main charts.
33:49All six positions. Yeah. It's their strength of schedule so far through four games and then the rest of the season.
33:55But if you click the PDF, it expands to every week.
33:58So, you can look at each week of the season and what it looks like.
34:02So, I think it's pretty cool. I agree. And we'll talk about it more later this time.
34:07Mike Clay NFL is the handle. And if we get Mike to 5 million followers on Twitter, I'll pay off his mortgage.
34:13Yes! 5 million! How long do I have to do that?
34:16By the end of today. Come on. Give me followers.
34:19Come on. You still want one mortgage? No. Different conversation.
34:22Not out of preference. Okay. Let's dive in. Not out of preference.
34:25Matthew Golden, guys. I'm going to talk about him.
34:27Matthew Golden has been great so far this year.
34:30Ninth in targets. Like, ninth in targets. 12-6-12-7. Little bit of a yo-yo situation there.
34:34But four straight games with six plus targets. We will take that every single week.
34:38Two weeks as a top 20 wide receiver. Both of those weeks had over 15 and a half fantasy points.
34:44We kind of talked about it was more narrative.
34:47But when we came into the season with all the stuff that was happening with the running backs, it's like, are the
34:53running backs bad enough that Jordan Love does eventually just have to throw a bunch?
34:57Which turns out that's sort of what's happening. Nailed it.
35:00Running backs are like a big old plate of dirt.
35:03Big old pile of mushrooms. I've never met a mushroom I could like.
35:06I've never met a Packers running back I can like.
35:09Wow. But I am in. I'm on green back.
35:11On bath. That's fair. You didn't grow up a Lions fan.
35:15I am still in on Matthew Golden and Christian Watson with the target share.
35:19And with the way that that offensive line is playing, which is not great, by the way.
35:23I think part of why I like Matthew Golden a little bit more than Christian Watson is because he's just peppered, maybe
35:29potentially closer to the line of scrimmage with some easy stuff that he can use with his, do some yak stuff with.
35:36So I like Matthew Golden this week. I think he's an option for us here as a flex consideration.
35:41Yeah, Packers third heaviest offense so far. To your point.
35:44Pass heaviest? What did I say? Third heaviest. They have some big offenses.
35:47Yes. Big guys. Well, Christian Watson's a big guy.
35:50Yeah, third, sorry. Third pass heaviest offense so far.
35:52Yeah. Don't worry. It's very rare for you. Yes.
35:55Yeah, fair. Thank you. Matthew Golden, also my four-year-old's favorite NFL player.
35:58Seriously? Are you guys familiar with K-pop Demon Hunters?
36:01Yes. A little bit, yeah. Yeah. They have the big hit, Golden is the song.
36:05Plays pretty much every car ride. I asked her what her favorite color was when we were trying to decide.
36:11Did she say golden? She said golden pink. Oh, okay.
36:13Golden pink. Naturally. Golden pink is a color. Is it?
36:16I think that counts. Well, if she had just said golden, that would have been not right.
36:21Yeah, but golden pink. Golden pink counts. Okay. Or gold and pink.
36:24That's good also. That's two colors. Yeah, that's good.
36:27That's okay. Have you never met a child? Very few are just like.
36:31You work with them every day. Very few are just like green.
36:34It's like, well, blue and pink. And, you know, it's usually multiple, which is fine.
36:38Rainbow. My daughter's just rainbow, which is all the colors.
36:41That's fair. Yeah. I met my son when he was 15.
36:44He doesn't talk to me about his favorite colors.
36:47It's a more sophisticated conversation. It's something different than we talk about.
36:50Let's dive into some tight ends. Oh, no. Actually, we're going to do the mailbag first, guys.
36:55Before we do that, shout out to our buddy, Eric Moody.
36:58Follow him on social media at Eric and Moody.
37:00First question comes from Fire Stick. Wants to know, start two.
37:03PPR League. Quinchan Judkins. Jeremiah Love. Or Emmanuel Wilson this week, guys.
37:07This one's pretty straightforward. Yeah, I agree. Quinchan Judkins.
37:09Judkins and Love. Jeremiah Love. I agree. And I'm a Wilson apologist just because of the situation, but I would still lean toward the other two guys.
37:17I would, too. I would, too. Good answers, Mike.
37:19Thank you. All right. Next one here from our chat.
37:22Regal. Regal Desert Eagle. There you go. Thank you, Field.
37:25No problem. Mike. Mike. Told me what to say.
37:27Yes. Colson Loveland. I gotcha. Joke Farterson this week, guys.
37:30Not Joke Farterson. Not enough targets at all. We're going Colson Loveland.
37:34Yeah, I would go with Colson Loveland, too. Well, like, at this point with Loveland, we're like, that's a passable day.
37:39We'll take that. Yes. At least still Caleb gets back.
37:42Then we need some big games. But for now, we'll take passable.
37:46And we got that last week. Give me what we got last week.
37:49Yep. Agreed. That's it. All right. One more. We got another one.
37:53This one comes from Burt Macklin, FBI. Should I be worried about Cam Scadabo usage?
37:57Well, Field? I just made a trade for Cam Scadabo in the 16-team war room league.
38:01Oh, yeah? What'd you do? Parker Washington for Scadabo.
38:04Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. Which I'm not trying to justify the trade.
38:08I just want to give the context. Absolutely. My team has Travis Achan as our RB2, which he wasn't good, but at least he was a warm body.
38:15You need a running back. You need a running back badly.
38:18So, we are able to stem the tide at wide receiver a bit with Devon Vele as our fourth wide out or our flex.
38:25He steps into that role. Scadabo replaces the husk of Kendra Miller.
38:29Scadabo is – I mean, obviously, I fought long and hard about this because I had the deal this morning.
38:34He went 10 catchers through four games. That's a totally passable number, but it's two games with four targets and two games with one target.
38:41Schedule next week is great. They get the Saints.
38:44Mike just mentioned how bad of a matchup. Yep, next week.
38:47Next week, yeah. Yep, this week, Washington. I think I'm fine with Scadabo.
38:50I think he's fine. Like, certainly not the player that he was last year.
38:54I don't think the use is just concerning, though.
38:57Like, he's still getting, what, 15 carries a game.
38:59Yeah, a lot of opportunities. It's kind of like Tootin, but in a worse offense so far because he's not getting goal line work.
39:06The efficiency hasn't been there, three and a half yards per carry.
39:09But a lot of that is they're just grinding him between the tackles.
39:13Like, they have to – we need more bigger plays.
39:16But just two carries inside the five. That's why he only has one touchdown.
39:20If he starts getting touchdowns, and I'd like to see the passing game usage be a little more consistent.
39:25It's not – it's been kind of all over the map.
39:28One 4-4. That would help. But they do draw Washington.
39:31They've been kind of quietly good against running backs.
39:34Jonathan Taylor is the only one to get to 11 against them.
39:37So that's for this week. But, yeah, I guess to answer the specific question, not super worried, but he's fine.
39:43Looks more like a mid-range RB2 at best at the moment.
39:46Maybe we can get more out of him, though.
39:48It's weird because, like, in Jacksonville, I sort of understand the Chris Rodriguez getting goal line touches because he's a big, powerful man.
39:55Yeah. In New York, it's like, man, we don't really like seeding goal line carries to Najee Harris, right?
40:00Like, whatever's left of Najee Harris. I was just going to say – you used the term, like, what is the husk of Najee Harris.
40:07Part of that is the fact that Scadaboo is 10th in the NFL in carries.
40:11Like, they are just giving it to him as much as they possibly can between the 20s, I guess.
40:16So it's a tricky one. Let's talk about some tight ends.
40:20Let's do it. We'll start with Mike Clay. Mike Clay.
40:22Why? We were talking about some tight ends. I know, but why me first?
40:26He was trying to compliment. Oh, man. There we go.
40:29There we go. That's $100. I bet you had $105.
40:32So the $20 bills count for – You've been working out, though.
40:35Yeah, I can tell. $106. Okay. A lot of squats.
40:38All right. I've been slacking. Yeah, TJ Hawkinson. Wait.
40:41No, I'm going to give the rankings first. Sorry.
40:43You said for me to go first. I know it was because I made you uncomfortable by complimenting your body.
40:49We're going to start with tight ends 1 through 10.
40:51Trey McBride, Brock Bowers, George Kittle, Sam Laporta, Isaiah Likely, Tyler Warren, Harold Fannin, Tucker Craft, Juwan Johnson, and Colston Loveland.
40:57Colston Loveland does make it as a top 10 tight end this week.
41:01TJ Hawkinson coming off of last week's big game at 11.
41:04Mark Andrews, Dalton Kincaid, Brenton Strange, Kenyon Sadiq, Pat Friermuth, Michael Mayer, Kay Dotten, AJ Barner, Hunter Henry, and Lord help you
41:10if you need to start any of the names on the second half of this list.
41:15Why are you looking at him? I know. Sorry, Field.
41:18It's just a tough one. A tight end does not feel great once you get past tight ends 2.
41:23But, you know, let's talk about a few of these guys.
41:26You have like Laporta. Yeah, no, there's a few of them that have been in there.
41:30And there's been a few that have kind of come on this season.
41:34We have a few guys that stepped up that maybe we didn't plan on.
41:38One of them being Juwan Johnson for the Saints.
41:41He's been awesome. Fun player to watch too now.
41:43And this is Juwan. As we know, throws the ball a ton.
41:46Tyler Shuck has 18 more passing attempts than any quarterback in the league.
41:50Mike mentioned the run defense issues. I'm not sure they're much better defending the pass either.
41:55So this Saints defense is as bad as Mike is great.
41:58Good opportunity for them to continue to throw the football lot on offense.
42:01And Juwan Johnson, amongst tight ends, is 5th in routes run, 5th in targets, 3rd in end zone targets.
42:07He does get those looks when they are near the goal line.
42:10Noah Fant, who does not totally impact the value of Juwan Johnson.
42:13But if he's available, it's potentially slightly, you know, like a target less per game for Juwan Johnson.
42:18He was a scratch this past Monday night against Atlanta.
42:21We'll see his status for this upcoming weekend. It's a bad matchup against Minnesota.
42:25I think, without spoiling it, the Saints win that game, though.
42:28Ooh, interesting. I think I just spoiled it, though.
42:31Yeah, a little bit. That's okay, though. We'll come back to it.
42:34Mike, who do you want to go with? I'm going to talk about TJ Hawkinson, your old buddy.
42:39Oh, yeah. Right now in Minnesota. Ever since that injury a couple years ago, he hasn't been that same sort of, I
42:45wouldn't go as far to say elite fantasy tight end, but certainly, like, in the top five conversation most weeks, hasn't been there.
42:52But maybe Kyler Murray can re-unlock that. Last week, he did 13 targets, 13 catches, 119 yards against the Dolphins.
42:57He had a 39% target share. Guys, he's up to 26% target share this season.
43:02That ranks 18th in the entire NFL and fourth at tight end.
43:05So he's getting a ton of volume. There could be, this could be something with Kyler.
43:09Trey McBride had a 27% target share with Kyler during weeks one through five last season when he was healthy.
43:15It was 30% the year before the full season with Kyler.
43:18Remember, before Trey McBride broke out, it was Zach Ertz who was super productive with Kyler Murray.
43:23So there could be something here in terms of added volume.
43:26And they play the Saints, who to your point, have struggled.
43:29They've struggled against this position. 28 points to Brock Bowers.
43:32Michael Mayer also scored in that game. And Mark Andrews and Sam LaPorter both had fine days there.
43:37Both had at least nine and a half points.
43:39So I think Hawkinson is a very high floor play here in week five.
43:43And if he finds the end zone, we could be pushing 20 points here.
43:47Love that. Who do you think wins that one?
43:50Who did I pick? I think I'll probably pick Minnesota.
43:53But they have to be able to score points.
43:55That's a really good pick, Mike. That's a really smart.
43:58That's smart, Mike. I like that. Yeah. I want to cut up on this episode, by the way.
44:03I need it. ESPN talent office. Yes. And just forward it right along.
44:07That's right. Colson Loveland. Guys, I'm rolling with them here as a top 10 tight end.
44:11At this point, what we saw last week needs to be the standard.
44:15The expectation of what we get out of Colson Loveland.
44:18First three weeks of the season. Two targets. Three targets.
44:20Four targets. Last week, nine targets. That's what it needs to be.
44:24I'd love to know what's happening right now. Six for 57.
44:27He started much slower than what we wanted. But a lot of this, to be honest, is just anecdotal.
44:32Colson Loveland is an unbelievably talented and athletic freak to play a position in which we have very few athletically talented freaks
44:38that are at the top of their game. Even though he has struggled and started slow, I am still going to trust
44:44the talent and hope that they get him involved like we saw last week.
44:48So I'm rolling with him again as a low end tight end one.
44:52Colson Loveland, athletic freak. Brock Bowers, athletic freak. We're talking just tight ends here.
44:56Trey McBride, George Kittle. I would say at the top is Mike Clay.
45:00Mike Clay probably had number one. Yes, for sure.
45:02For sure. You both agreed there. That's a washout.
45:05But I appreciate it. A couple of quick streaming defenses for you guys, just so that you know.
45:10Dallas Cowboys. They were the most added defense this week.
45:12You want to know why? They are taking on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
45:16George Pick is going to have three touchdowns. The Cowboys might have eight sacks.
45:20Yep. So that's going to be a very big one.
45:23You can look at all those guys there. Last week against the Packers.
45:26Packers had two sacks. Two interceptions. Three sacks. Only allowed 14 points.
45:30Love that as a potential streaming defense. Mike, what about you?
45:33Yeah, looking at the Bengals here. Third in the NFL in sacks.
45:36And they draw Miami. They've been the third most generous to opposing defenses this season.
45:40A 10 fantasy points per game. So Bengals, good streamer this week.
45:44Field? Field? I got the Jaguars who have the Eagles coming up.
45:47This game is over in London. This Jacksonville defense has been really solid so far this year.
45:52And the Eagles, of course, are now without Lane Johnson.
45:55Yeah. They're doing significant injuries along the offensive line.
45:57Devontae Smith could be out. Dallas Goddard could be out.
46:00Saquon Barkley could be out. But so it's Jalen Hurts throwing to Darius Cooper and Zach Ertz and Devontaevian Wicks.
46:06So a tough sledding for Philadelphia on Sunday. I actually think they keep that game at least very close, if not win.
46:12I think there's a grittiness and a toughness about this Eagles team.
46:15And it's not just me trying to compliment Mike.
46:18For real. I think they will find a way to stay in this game.
46:22I hope so. I don't know if they're going to win or not, but I do think this Philadelphia team is going
46:28to prove to us they dig deep when people expect them to be out.
46:32I don't really know what to expect either. Maybe they do hang in there like they did with the Rams.
46:37That's a game everyone thought the Rams would handle.
46:40This feels like a game that could be 33 to 3, but I hope that's not the case.
46:45All three of those defenses are available in more than 50% of leagues.
46:49They were the three most added defenses through waivers, but still available in a number of leagues for you to be able to go and grab them.
46:56I have a legitimate question for you. One of the highest projected defenses this week is the Jets against the Browns.
47:02Yep. The Browns seem like they're playing better offense.
47:05Is that? There's still some Deshaun Watson turning it over in his projection.
47:08That's a big part of that. And also the Browns are not exactly lighting it up offensively in terms of scoring big points.
47:15So I think there's a little bit of a cap on that.
47:18So that's generally where it comes from. So not getting too worried about that.
47:22The projection for basically how it works in terms of the metrics for a quarterback is it evolves as the season goes on.
47:28So obviously to open the season, it's based on historical numbers and year-to-year progression, kind of regression to mean in some categories.
47:35But every week as they 40 more dropbacks, it'll just start to use more of what we've seen this season.
47:40So Watson's numbers, his efficiency projections are getting better, but we're not totally forgetting about it.
47:45It's a small sample with him. He still has turned it over this season a few times as well, made some mistakes.
47:51So still a guy that could be a liability in that area.
47:54Understood. As you know, managing maintenance, repair, and operations is never easy.
47:58But for the ones who always rise to the challenge, Granger has your back.

48:21Me versus Field. Mike gets to be the judge.
48:24Whoa, we didn't change the animation. Mike should be in the middle there.
48:27Sorry about that, Michael. I apologize. I'll talk with our team about it and just know that I'll handle it.
48:33We could pay homage to one of the great sitcoms of our childhood.
48:37Malcolm in the Middle. Yes. Oh, that's true. Yeah.
48:39That's right. Frankie Munez was... Of course, a big racer now.
48:42Yes, he drives in the Arca Series. Yeah. Or did he go to trucks?
48:46I think he went to the Truck Series. But either way...
48:49I think he's fallen on some tough times of late.
48:52Yeah, he has. But yeah, it was cool to see him make that change.
48:56He's like our age too. And then he's living the dream, right?
48:59Really good? Like as a racer? Or is it more like...
49:02I don't want to disrespect his game, but work in progress.
49:05But you know, it's hard when you... He's an actor, right?
49:08For... So he's done that his whole life. And then he decided, hey, I have money.
49:13I'm going to invest in a team and race because it's something I want to do.
49:17Why not? And he's a development. He's a development.
49:20He's a developing driver. That's what Mike Clay is hoping to be someday, is a development driver.
49:25He just wants to be... Wouldn't that be great?
49:27Wouldn't you... Awesome. Would you do it? Yeah. Would you drive around?
49:31I raced go-karts and my dad was a champion racer on dirt in Pennsylvania.
49:35Won two track championships in the late 80s. So he was...
49:38How fast did your cars go? Mine? Oh, mine weren't...
49:40I mean, this was when I was a kid.
49:43So not super fast, but I don't know what the miles per hour was.
49:47But enough to be competitive. All right. It was fun.
49:50Let's dive into a couple of guys that we're going to bring to the table.
49:54Sorry. Do it. Fantasy face-off. Field and I are both going to bring a player to the table that we would rather start over the other person's player.
50:02We're going to start at the quarterback position. Do you want to go first or do you want me to go first?
50:08You know, let's go with beauty before age. All right.
50:11So I will go first. Wait a second. I'm older than you.
50:14I'm almost a man. Yeah. I can't wait to turn 40 so I can say I'm a man.
50:19I mean, I actually don't want to turn 40.
50:22When I turned 40, I used that gif like once and then I said it like once or twice and then it was like, okay.
50:29All right. On to the next. Now I'm over.
50:31We're on to Cincinnati. See if we can do better.
50:34See if we can do better and utilize it more.
50:37Bo Nix. I got Bonix bringing to the table.
50:39Bonix. Okay. All right. Last couple of weeks. Here's the deal.
50:42He was really good two weeks ago against the Rams.
50:45By really good, I mean his fantasy points were really good.
50:4824.14. He's actually really struggled so far this year.
50:515.4, 14.1, 13.5. But you look at the defenses they've played.
50:54Kansas City, Jacksonville, the Rams, and San Francisco. Oh, fair.
50:57So it has been a very difficult road. Chargers, who they're playing this week, have allowed three quarterbacks to top 16.5 fantasy points against them.
51:04That's a much nicer floor than it is the difficult matchups he's had in recent memory.
51:08By the way, on the other side, Fields guy is going to play the 49ers.
51:12They've only allowed one quarterback to top 13.6 fantasy points.
51:15So they've done really good so far this year.
51:18So I just think this is a defense that can be taken advantage of.
51:22You know, last week it was a situation in which it did not feel like we needed to utilize Bonix quite as much.
51:28It was a much more difficult of a matchup.
51:31He threw the ball 42 times though still. So I'm going with Bonix as a high-end QB2 over one Sam Darnold this week.
51:37Yeah, interesting. That's an interesting call because Bonix has been so bad this year.
51:41He has been. Up and down. I don't like playing players that, you know, you get the Jekyll and Hyde nature to them.
51:47I prefer guys that are Super Bowl champions that have a pedigree that bring it to the table when it matters the most.
51:54Like Sam Darnold too. I grant you has only played in two full games this year, but two weeks ago against Washington, he absolutely lit it up.
52:01Nearly 28 fantasy points, which is more points in any game, more points than Bo Nix has scored in any game so far this season.
52:08Yeah, yeah. You're right that San Francisco has largely held quarterbacks.
52:12Except for Jacoby Brissett. Except for 26 fantasy points against the Niners.
52:15The Rams forgot it was the regular season when they went to Australia 10 minutes before kickoff.
52:20I'm throwing that Matthew Stafford game away. And then they played Bo Nix, who we just talked about.
52:25Who, Bo, you don't know what you're going to get.
52:27Sam Darnold and the Seahawks team locks in. They knock out the San Francisco 49ers for their first loss of the season.
52:34Sam Darnold to JSN two times. You heard it here first.
52:37Sam Darnold, a better play than Bo Nix. Hey, by the way, they did that last week, right?
52:42Oh, wait, no. He had 13.3 fantasy points against the Chargers.
52:45Sam Darnold. The Chargers are trash. But Mike, did you get a haircut?
52:49I don't know why your hair looks so good.
52:51I'm getting a haircut today at 1230. Okay. Thank you for not noticing.
52:55All right. I have to decide on this one.
52:57Bo Nix. Good call. Two good cases. Sam Darnold.
53:00Field. Get back in line. Daniel, you win this one.
53:03Yes! You know where you got me? Where? You got me with the tough schedule so far.
53:07That's what it is. The first four games are tough, and I still believe in Bo Nix's talent.
53:12I think that's a fair point. I think he gets it going the right direction.
53:17All right. I believe Seth Walder, who does analytics for us here at ESPN, very, very, very smart.
53:22Has a lot of cool insights. He had a post last night on Twitter that the Broncos, I think, have played four
53:28of the top five teams in ESPN's Football Power Index.
53:31Really? So they've faced as difficult of a schedule, basically.
53:33It's funny you say that. I noticed the strength to schedule chart shows the easiest schedule remaining for the defense special teams is the Broncos going forward.
53:41So you wonder why that's supposed to be an elite defense.
53:44Why have they struggled? Well, the schedule's been brutal.
53:47Going forward, it's very light, although Pat Sertan injured.
53:49Yeah, we'll keep an eye on that. All right.
53:52All right. I'll let you go first here for the second one, Phil, just so you can kind of get your feet underneath you a little bit.
53:59All right. So I think it's pretty obvious who's going to start at running back for the Eagles this weekend, right?
54:05Yes, they literally only have one guy. It might be me.
54:08Right? And so the thing about Will Shipley is that he's going to get a ton of volume this weekend.
54:14Sure. On top of that, Will Shipley is a very gifted pass catcher.
54:17The Eagles have talked about how they're going to play more under center now with Jalen Hurts.
54:22Kind of meet Jalen back in the middle. This Eagles offense is going to get back on track a little bit.
54:28Now, what you may not know is that Will Shipley has English roots.
54:32Okay. All right. Will has three uncles who still live in London, and they are amongst the biggest and most popular on the internet arm wrestling scene.
54:39I want this to be true. In the entire world.
54:42Those guys are all going to be there, and they're going to be intimidating the Jaguars before the game on Sunday morning.
54:48Is this real? Do you want to bet against Will Shipley and his three uncles who live in London?
54:54This is real? Right? Like, this is... You sold it really well.
54:57Yeah. If it's not real. It's not real. But Will Shipley is going to get more opportunities than I believe Kyle Monungay will get.
55:04He is not necessarily going to be as efficient, Monungay, behind that awesome, awesome offensive line in Chicago.
55:09But volume, good pass catching, and I think he's going to find his way into the end zone.
55:14Give me Will Shipley. I hear you, Field. I'm going to go over the top on this one, though.
55:19That's an arm wrestling reference that neither one of you get, but a bunch of people in our chat understand.
55:25That's right. Kyle Monungay. Bears have played how many games this year?
55:28Four games, right? Yes. That would be correct. Okay.
55:31In those four games, a Bears running back has topped 20 fantasy points three times so far.
55:35Impressive. Two of them are him, right? Yes. Including last week where he had 146 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns.
55:41He has done it twice. In four games this year, the best an Eagles running back has done is 11.9 fantasy points.
55:47That was Tank Bigsby, by the way. Not even Saquon Barkley.
55:50Saquon had two nine-point games in his two healthy games.
55:53I just have much more faith in the Bears running backs this season.
55:57I have much more faith in the Bears offense this season.
56:00I recognize Will Shipley will play probably more than Kyle Monungay.
56:03I'm just going to default to what I think is going to be a better offense and the ability that if it
56:09runs through Kyle Monungay like it did last week, you have a higher chance at an upside.
56:14You know I'm a practical numbers guy and you just made up facts to make your case.
56:19I can't support that. Thank you! Point to Daniel.
56:21Also, he gave me $60. No, whoa! Dang it, I did.
56:24I have to go Monungay here. That was a bit.
56:27Yeah. Sorry, guys. I expect better field. Gotta do better.
56:30Will Shipley's going to touch the ball a ton.
56:32He absolutely will. He is. I think he will have more touches than Kyle Monungay.
56:37I really don't know what they're going to do.
56:39I wouldn't be surprised if it's 45% of the snaps or 60%.
56:43I don't know. Like 70%. I just don't. Who do you have right now?
56:46Damian Pierce as the two. Is there anyone that you want to start?
56:50Jaden Blue. I don't want to start any Eagles running backs.
56:53Especially in a game where I think they're going to have a hard time.
56:57You don't want to start a single Eagle right now.
57:00No, no. They're going to have a hard time.
57:02I really believe that. All right. Cool. Sorry about this field.
57:06It's okay. You tried so hard to make Mike be your friend earlier too.
57:09I did. I think I'm going to crush you in this last one.
57:13Yeah, but one of the compliments was I'm just a practical guy.
57:16I got to listen to the info and make the right choice there.
57:20It's very important. Ready for a clean sweep? No, I'm not.
57:23This is serious business. All right. Who is it?
57:26We need time for a random rank. We got to be quick.
57:29Lions have given up six games of at least 19.9 fantasy points to a tight end or wide receiver so far this year.
57:36Michael Wilson takes them on this week. We obviously think that Trey McBride is going to be an every week starter.
57:41Michael Wilson fits the bill. Did you know that he has 30 targets over the last two weeks?
57:46Most in the NFL. Fourth in the NFL in targets.
57:49Everything that you have seen from the Lions secondary, I don't need to harp on and I don't want to.
57:55Michael Wilson is an easy top 10 play this week.
57:58Zay Flowers is a better play than Michael Wilson.
58:00Even with Lamar Jackson, unlikely to be available because who's a way better player?
58:04Zay Flowers or Michael Wilson? It's Zay Flowers. To me, it's pretty apparent.
58:08Zay Flowers is seventh in the NFL and run after catch per reception.
58:11You put the football in Zay Flowers' hands, good things are going to happen.
58:15You have your backup quarterback. You're facing all of a sudden pretty darn good defense.
58:20Yeah. What's the strategy here? Get the ball out quick.
58:22Let Zay Flowers do the heavy lifting for you.
58:25He's fourth in the NFL in receiving yards, by the way.
58:28The guy's played hurt. He played 45% of the snaps in one game.
58:32He missed the second half of another game. He's absolutely electric here.
58:35Don't overthink it. Don't allow this trendy 30 targets over the past two weeks.
58:39Michael Wilson blind you from the light that is the most handsome fantasy analyst with the best thoughts in all of ESPN
58:45and the Zay Flowers loving Mike Clay. I love that we went from quarterback from Bo Nix and Sam Darnold to Kyle Monunga and Will Shipley.
58:52And now we're arguing about two guys. We have like eight and 10 in Michael Wilson and Zay Flowers.
58:58Look, I have Wilson ranked higher. So the way I'm attacking this is not like who.
59:02Obviously, I know who I have higher. Right. I'm just going to pick that person.
59:06Whoever gets me to move the needle a little bit closer.
59:09So this one, I'm going to have to go with field.
59:13Way to go, field. Thank you. Well done. All right.
59:15I have to give you your flowers. Thank you.
59:18I'll take my six. And I'll give you your money.
59:21No, thank you. Thank you. I appreciate. I appreciate.
59:23All right. Let's dive into some fun rankings here, guys.
59:26Really quick. We're going to end the show. We have a lot of fun being able to do this.
59:31And we want to hear what you guys have to say in chat as we go through it.
59:36These are going to be our favorite team logos.
59:39Each one of us brought three to the table.
59:41Mike, we're going to start with you. You're going to do all three sports logos.
59:46Okay. We'll do my countdown. A quick honorable mention.
59:48Oh, we're starting right there. All right. There we go.
59:51My number one's on the board. Never mind. Yeah.
59:53I'm going Mark Martin's Valvoline scheme or the Valvoline scheme in NASCAR in general is always a home run for me.
59:59I grew up. Mark Martin's always been my guy, my favorite athlete.
60:03He is the best. And before you say drivers aren't athletes.
60:06This guy literally has books about his workout. Go to his face and tell him he's not an athlete.
60:11That guy is still absolutely jacked. He's awesome. Mike was actually conceived at a NASCAR race.
60:16He hasn't told a lot of people that. But I'm wearing my Mark Martin shirt today as well because I love it.
60:22Kent City Chiefs are second. Dallas Texans as well.
60:24They're the old name of their franchise. Always been attracted to those colors for some reason.
60:29Always has hit home. And also my daughter's name, Casey Clay.
60:32Casey. So she wears the Casey merchandise. Oh, look at that.
60:35Number three. Mike's middle name was Daytona. It all makes more sense.
60:38Now it makes more sense. That's correct. And the Colorado Avalanche.
60:41I was a big Avalanche fan growing up because I just loved when they moved from Quebec.
60:46I loved the logo. So I love that. Honorable mention, the 98 to 2008 New York Jets.
60:51Always loved the logo. Like the white helmets, the Chad Pennington era.
60:54Yeah. White helmets. I always loved that one. Pennington's my guy.
60:57Where do you think the Days of Thunder Crew got the term Rubbin's Racin?
61:01No idea. Came from Mike's parents, obviously. That is inappropriate.
61:04Wow. Why don't you go ahead? I'll go next here.
61:07I'll go next here, guys. You actually have to leave the show.
61:10Sorry about that. My number one. Guys, the Anaheim Mighty Ducks.
61:13Do you remember being a kid? This was one of my additives.
61:17And this movie came out. And it was so cool.
61:19You've got the old school hockey mask. Like the Jason mask.
61:23And it looks like a duck. It was unbelievable.
61:25Just a super cool logo. Very nostalgic for my youth.
61:28Also, the Seattle Supersonics. Took all three of my picks, for the record.
61:32Are you serious? Yes. Oh, I love the Seattle Supersonics logo.
61:35It's sort of feel. I guess we have great taste together.
61:38We can be nice to each other now that we're not going against each other.
61:42Oh. And then the Hartford Whalers. No. Awesome. This is an unbelievable logo.
61:46Unbelievable logo. The H with the W. You see the negative space.
61:49It's an unbelievable thing. And the fact that there's no aggressiveness within the Hartford Whalers logo.
61:53It's just a very cool, family-friendly logo. They don't use these logos anymore.
61:57None of your three logos exist anymore. I know.
62:00No one said anything about them being present. They're amazing, though.
62:03Did they? No, they didn't. I'm just saying there's a reason they don't exist anymore.
62:07Sort of interesting that Mike's third logo was the Colorado Avalanche.
62:10I don't know how many people know this, but Colorado used to have a hockey team.
62:14They did? Before the Avalanche. It was the Colorado Rockies.
62:17Not the baseball team. Are you serious? Seriously. This is one of your logos?
62:2176 to 1982. This is the Colorado emblem right in the middle there.
62:25My wife's family. Oh, okay. Go ahead. There's a backstory.
62:28I still love the logo. It's awesome. My in-laws live in Colorado.
62:31My wife grew up partially in Colorado. We have lots of Colorado ties.
62:35That right there is really cool. It's, of course, emblematic of the Rockies and the hockey team, not the baseball team.
62:40The baseball team's logo is okay. Pat Patriot. Throwback to my youth here.
62:44Oh, that's a good one. This is a good one.
62:47But the Patriot's red uniforms are top five in the NFL when they drop their throwbacks.
62:51I always feel like no matter who they're playing, they're going to win that game.
62:56This guy, Pat Patriot, is ferocious. He's hiking a football.
62:58He is jocked. He looks like Mike Clay and Mike and Mark Martin.
63:02All the way around. Awesome. And then finally, last but not least, the UMBC Golden Retrievers.
63:07The first ever 16 team to win a game in the men's NCAA basketball tournament.
63:11Great lacrosse program as well. I have a Golden Retriever.
63:14He's the best. His name is Cisco, and I love him dearly.
63:17And UMBC stands for UMBCisco. Wow. Love that. Thank you.
63:20You're welcome. It's actually University of Maryland. I believe it's Baltimore County is the actual UMBC.
63:24Okay. Gotcha. I love that. All right. Chat says that I get the dub on this one.
63:2950% of chat likes my logos. Mine were way better.
63:32I didn't even finish reading mine, and you're like, yeah, chat says I win.
63:36I know. Well, that's not me. That's just our producer, Addison.
63:39Oh. Sorry, guys. Shout out to a guy, Addison, who made it through his first show today.
63:44Proud of you, buddy. Mine were the best. Very excited to be here.
63:47Cannot wait to come back tomorrow. You know what?
63:50We're going to dive into our week five previews over Thursday and Friday.
63:53We will preview Thursday Night Football and all of the week.
63:56I know. I can't believe we're here already. Man, I don't know where the time goes.
64:01I will sign up for a Fuel G8s concert.
64:03It goes fast. Tell me where to go. Put that on the wheel.
64:07Don't forget to love each other and be kind to yourself, you guys.
64:11You deserve it. Come back and hang out with us tomorrow.
64:14We'll see you then. Peace. And I see you in the 06010.
64:17See you in the 06010. See you in the 06010.
