Insight page

Brian Thomas Jr.

NegativeBust46:43

The source expresses significant concern regarding Brian Thomas Jr.'s future in Jacksonville, labeling this a 'referendum year.' There is skepticism about his ability to secure a consistent role, with fears that he may struggle to see target volume early in the season.

Insight page

Caleb Williams

NegativeProjection42:01

The source is lower than consensus on Caleb Williams, ranking him at QB15. While acknowledging his physical tools and potential for designed runs, the source prefers to see consistent performance before ranking him alongside established veterans like Matthew Stafford or Brock Purdy.

Insight page

Carnell Tate

PositiveValue42:41

The source is significantly higher on Carnell Tate than the market, ranking him as WR22. He is viewed as a reliable, pro-ready prospect who could benefit from a potential year-two breakout for quarterback Cam Ward.

Insight page

Chris Rodriguez

NegativeRole58:03

Chris Rodriguez is viewed as a journeyman with a low ceiling, though he may see goal-line work in the Commanders' offense. While he has a history with coach Liam Cohen, he is considered a boring, low-upside rosterable player who is a zero in the passing game.

Insight page

Chuba Hubbard

NegativeUsage51:24

Chuba Hubbard is described as a reliable, well-rounded back who does many things well, though he lacks elite traits. Despite the presence of Jonathan Brooks, Hubbard is expected to maintain a role due to his consistency.

Insight page

Daniel Jones

NegativeProjection31:30

Daniel Jones is viewed as a safe QB2 option in Superflex, though there is concern regarding his rushing volume compared to his early-season performance last year.

Insight page

Denzel Boston

PositiveBreakout55:37

Denzel Boston has been the star of Browns training camp, with the source noting he looks like a player who should have been a first-round pick. Despite concerns about the Browns' quarterback situation and team outlook, he is viewed as a high-upside bench stash with potential for flex production.

Insight page

Dontayvion Wicks

PositiveSleeper64:09

Dontayvion Wicks is a late-round target generating positive buzz out of training camp, making him a viable flyer in deep drafts.

Insight page

Isiah Pacheco

NegativeInjury23:58

Isaiah Pacheco has a sprained MCL, but Dan Campbell expects him to be ready for the season opener.

Insight page

Jadarian Price

PositiveUsage35:55

Crocs. You is high on Jadarian Price, citing the Seahawks' heavy reliance on the run game and the current uncertainty surrounding Zach Charbonnet's availability.

Insight page
PositiveUsage36:20

The source is very high on Jadarian Price, citing the Seahawks' heavy run-first philosophy and the uncertainty surrounding Zach Charbonnet's return. He is projected to receive a significant workload and is ranked as an RB3.

Insight page

Jahmyr Gibbs

PositiveUsage21:52

Mike Clay prefers Jahmyr Gibbs over Bijan Robinson at 1.01, citing an expected expanded role for Gibbs and the fact that he was already a top-three back in previous seasons.

Insight page

Jameson Williams

NegativeUsage39:13

While acknowledging Williams is in an explosive offense, the source notes he is becoming overvalued. He remains a key part of a condensed Lions target tree alongside Amon-Ra St. Brown and Sam LaPorta, but his fantasy value relies on big-play efficiency rather than high volume.

Insight page

Jerry Jeudy

PositiveValue63:55

Jerry Jeudy is highlighted as a late-round target who has been a top-25 fantasy receiver in two of the last four seasons. Despite a down year in 2023, he remains a solid player at 27 years old.

Insight page

Jonathon Brooks

NegativeProjection51:34

The source suggests a successful season for Jonathan Brooks would be staying healthy for 17 games and carving out a role. While he has the potential to take the starting job, his ADP is currently too close to Chuba Hubbard's.

Insight page

Jordan Love

PositiveProjection30:23

Jordan Love is a talented quarterback in an offense with plenty of weapons; Crocs. You ranks him 16th, higher than consensus, noting that his fantasy success has historically been hindered by Josh Jacobs' touchdown volume.

Insight page

Josh Jacobs

NegativeInjury28:44

Josh Jacobs carries risk due to off-field concerns, with no 100% certainty regarding his availability for the season opener, alongside general age and volume-related concerns.

Insight page

Justin Jefferson

PositiveUsage20:59

The Vikings are expected to feature Justin Jefferson heavily this season, with the departure of Jalen Nailor potentially freeing up additional targets to push his volume beyond the 9-10 targets per game range.

Insight page

Keaton Mitchell

NegativeRole64:34

Keaton Mitchell is considered a long shot for fantasy relevance. While he is explosive, the source expresses skepticism that he will see enough volume to be a consistent flex option, noting he is a small player and likely part of a committee.

Insight page

Kenneth Walker III

NegativeValue25:46

While Crocs. You is optimistic about Kenneth Walker III's potential for his best career season due to lack of backfield competition, others view him as slightly overvalued in drafts compared to players with higher ceilings in the RB5-10 range.

Insight page

Luther Burden

NegativeInjury5:06

Luther Burden will miss the entire preseason due to a groin injury, according to Adam Schefter.

Insight page
NegativeValue6:35

Mike Clay considers Luther Burden the most overvalued player in fantasy football since Anthony Richardson, noting his fourth-round ADP is too high despite his efficiency metrics.

Insight page

Matthew Golden

NegativeProjection14:06

Mike Clay projects Matthew Golden to finish in the wide receiver 35 range, though he jokes that his own predictions for Packers receivers are often wrong.

Insight page

Matthew Stafford

PositiveProjection24:36

Despite statistical regression concerns, Matthew Stafford's situation remains excellent, ensuring he should produce a high volume of passing touchdowns. He is considered a high-value pick in Superflex formats, with little gap between him and quarterbacks drafted at the 1-2 turn.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveSleeper45:17

The source is very high on Parker Washington, noting his consistent 20% target share when playing over half the snaps. He is ranked 36th, ahead of other Jaguars receivers, and is expected to deliver WR2 numbers.

Insight page

Quinshon Judkins

PositiveUsage32:49

Quinshon Judkins is expected to have one of the highest carry shares in the NFL this year, with Crocs. You projecting increased involvement in the passing game.

Insight page

Rico Dowdle

PositiveRole50:08

Rico Dowdle is projected to be the lead rusher for the Cowboys. While there are concerns about limited target volume in a Mike McCarthy offense, he has the potential to push for 1,000 yards if he remains healthy.

Insight page

Rome Odunze

PositiveValue7:23

Mike Clay suggests the injury to Luther Burden breaks the tie between him and Rome Odunze, making Odunze the preferred target to draft about a round earlier.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout41:24

The source is high on Rome Odunze, projecting him slightly ahead of DJ Moore due to the injury to Luther Burden. He is expected to establish himself quickly with Caleb Williams in a condensed Chicago target tree.

Insight page

Terry McLaurin

PositiveProjection40:45

McLaurin is viewed as a strong value pick in the seventh round. Despite the addition of Stefon Diggs, there is a clear pathway for McLaurin to maintain a significant role in the Washington offense.

0:25Guys, Mike Clay is back on Fantasy Focus. How excited are you?
0:29I don't even know who Mike Clay is. Who is that?
0:32Who is that? Who is that? Who? Who? Not gonna lie, this isn't looking good.
0:36Guys, Mike Clay back for Fantasy Focus. How jazzed are you?
0:39Who? Who? Who? Who's that? Who's that? Who's that?
0:41So more people would know who Mike Clay was.
0:43I don't even know if we can run this.
0:46Back here on Fantasy Focus alongside Field Yates. I know people know who this guy is.
0:50Mike Clay. Should we introduce him? Do you need a proper introduction?
0:54Do you guys know who Mike Clay is? Should I go full Jason Kelsey right now?
0:58Yeah. How you doing, man? From Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He's six foot two.
1:01He's approximately 198 pounds, full of muscle. He's a one-time fantasy football champion.
1:05It was a two-team league. He has an excellent beard.
1:07He's an excellent father of two. And he's one of our great friends.
1:11Mike Clay! You can't backpedal now. It's ruined, okay?
1:13Oh, what's ruined? I was so excited to come back.
1:16I'm right from the airport, you know, with all my merchandise.
1:19Yeah. And this is how I'm welcomed to the show.
1:22No, wait a minute. I brought all my... I thought you were still in vacation mode, so I came in my vacation.
1:28No, I'm hurt now. Field, too. He's wearing a towel, basically, today.
1:31He's hurt. It's right. Day of a towel. Ten-hour flight delay yesterday.
1:34Landed at midnight in Boston. Ten-hour flight delay. Got home at 3 a.m., barely slept.
1:38Come right here. Came right here, and that's how I'm welcomed in.
1:42And that's how you have to deal with us.
1:44Wow. That's how we're starting the 2026 season. No, no, no, no.
1:47It actually is a miracle to be here right now.
1:50Because Field and I already started... The way we're starting the 2026 season is last week with Liz Loza.
1:55My calendar said August 10th. I sent you guys the video last week.
1:59I had August 10th written down, so it's not my fault.
2:02We're happy to report that you are not as sunburned as you looked during the...
2:06Yeah, I don't know what that was about. Yeah, I don't know what that was about.
2:10It's bad, but... No, I'm good. I lotioned out.
2:13I'm very tan. I mean, as you can see, I'm much darker than you guys are.
2:17Yeah, yeah. It was good. By the way, huge show today.
2:20We got a 12-team mock draft. Yes, we do.
2:22It's 10-15 Eastern Time. If you're watching live, 12-team OP.
2:25So we're doing Superflex League, basically. Today, it's going to be a lot of fun.
2:29We have everybody involved. This should be a great, great time.
2:3210-15, we start there. We've got a lot to get to today, obviously, beyond the mock draft.
2:37And Daniel, we have some news from our friend Adam Schefter.
2:40It is Schefter season. Oh, this is what? Now the training camps are back.
2:44This dude is built for right now. It's year-round Schefter season.
2:47Absolutely. I get push alerts from one person. Oh, thanks, Mike.
2:50And it's Adam, because I don't want to miss...
2:52I thought you had Microsoft Excel on there as well.
2:55No, not anymore. That's not a person. That's why.
2:57No, yeah. Just one human being. All right, hold on.
3:00I'm excited about this. Mike, you ready to get back on the saddle and see what it's like to do your job?
3:06Oh, this is like riding a bike. We heard news from Adam Schefter that Luther Burden is going to miss the entirety
3:12of the preseason with a groin injury. Oof. I'm wondering for you, your first bit of news as an analyst here for
3:18the 2026 fantasy football season, how is that going to impact your Luther Burden ranking?
3:22You know who Luther Burden is? Is that... A Chicago Bear.
3:25Yeah. Oh, yeah. You bet I know. Impressive. Thanks, man.
3:28I've been up your game this year. Wow. Nice job.
3:30You guys have been here for six minutes. All of a sudden, he's giving me some...
3:35I'm fighting fire with fire. Is that what it is?
3:37I'm trying to get back into it. Okay, all right.
3:40It's a back talker. I'm just warming up a little.
3:43That one was okay, but not great. We'll get there.
3:45Yeah, so Luther Burden... Here's the thing about Luther Burden, okay?
3:48Like, very efficient last year. Yeah. Okay, efficiency numbers through the roof.
3:52Very good. Loved it. But he's... And he's a year two breakout.
3:55I get it. But, like, my least favorite player to target in drafts by far this offseason.
4:00He's the most overvalued player. I would say he is the most overvalued player in fantasy since Anthony Richardson.
4:05Wow! Okay, yeah. He really is fine. Wow! Now can I go home?
4:08Please! Can I go home? This is like the perfect player to come back to.
4:12Honestly, I... Look, he very well could break out much like Richardson could have in his second season.
4:17He's in it for one minute. But you're already paying for it.
4:21He is a fourth round ADP across, you know, best ball drafts across the industry.
4:25It's out of control. You're drafting him at... Next to players who are already superstars like Garrett Wilson.
4:29It's unreal to me. So, when something like this happens where I'm very low on the guy, I'm kind of like, oh
4:35man, how his ADP is going to fall? And maybe now I might actually draft him if his ADP falls to a round.
4:42Sure. Sure. I think what happens here though is it kind of breaks the tie between Burden and Adunze.
4:47I think at Roma Dunze, I'll go a hair earlier now in drafts, maybe a round earlier.
4:51But the thing is you're still projecting a little bit with Burden.
4:55So, there's still value there, right? Yeah. The hope is even if he misses a week, you're still hoping that he becomes a superstar.
5:01That's why you're taking him in the first five rounds.
5:04So, I hope he falls a few rounds because I like some exposure.
5:08But where he's been going guys, absolutely not too high.
5:10Well, it's interesting because ESPN live draft data, and I think we'll have a much better snapshot of where guys are actually
5:16going to go in about two and a half to three weeks.
5:19Agreed. August 10th still, not many people are drafting.
5:22But for whatever it's worth, at this moment, Luther Burden has an eighth round ADP in 10 team leagues on ESPN per our live draft data.
5:29He's going as wide receiver 28. Wide receiver 27 is Roma Dunze.
5:32So, right now these guys are neck and neck.
5:35That gap will widen. Yeah. And I think the only part about the Roma Dunze conversation that I think has been missed
5:41is there's been all this talk about some of the metrics that Mike was referring to because Luther Burden was insanely efficient
5:47on a per target, per route, per catch opportunity last year.
5:50And he was a very, very talented player at Missouri who dropped to the second round because of some maturity concerns, not because of ability.
5:56But it's not like Roma Dunze is either a third round pick who was a wide receiver one for the Bears because
6:02he had to be or a guy who was really good, but was really good like eight years ago.
6:08Right. Roma Dunze was the ninth pick in the draft just two seasons ago, three drafts ago.
6:12I should say at this point, two and a half drafts at this point.
6:16Roma Dunze is a star, at least at least a star potential, I should say.
6:20So Roma Dunze going ahead of Luther Burden should not have been crazy prior to this.
6:24I think it'll see a healthy gap over the next few weeks created because of this injury to Luther Burden.
6:30There was some serious like draft pump when you took Roma Dunze right next to Caleb Williams.
6:34It felt like they drafted these guys to be each other's soulmates in this new look Bears offense.
6:39Remember, Roma Dunze. His catchphrase. You're right. You're right.
6:42But they love Roma Dunze. Look, he's top 10 in end zone targets since he entered the league and he had a low catch rate last year.
6:49That's been a Caleb Williams issue a little bit is the completion percentage, but it's still a big play waiting to happen.
6:55Remember, he had what five touchdowns in four games to open last season before he got hurt.
7:00And then he wasn't quite the same the rest of the way.
7:03I'm still in on Dunze. And I he's more I mean, he's more.
7:06He's been more productive than Burden has been so far.
7:09And they're going to like the same time. And by the way, to your point, yes, where guys are going at ESPN
7:15is a little bit influenced by our draft room for sure.
7:18That'll start to clean itself up as we go over the next month.
7:22And there's more and more drafts. But across the industry, though, I'm saying Burden is a guy that is generating an enormous amount of hype.
7:28And to me, I just I haven't drafted him at all.
7:31So if he if he breaks out and he's a top 12 receiver, I'm going to.
7:36Yeah, the fourth or fifth round is crazy to me.
7:39But where he's going right now in ESPN live draft data is totally fine.
7:42So that's more for Burden and maybe a little bit ahead of that for Roma.
7:46Do say wide receiver is just so deep that I'm not too concerned about sifting through 25 versus 30 amongst wide receivers like they're all very credible options.
7:54Probably all include a ton of upside because most of them are young players, right?
7:58Carnell Tate and Luther Burden and Roma Dunze and Jameson Williams and Jalen Waddle guys.
8:02You could totally see making a big push up the board.
8:05I want to know. I know what you guys think.
8:08I don't know what a chat has to say about Luther Burden, because, Mike, as you said, a lot of different ideas
8:14on what this guy could be, given the fact that he was already being drafted so high.
8:18People obviously believe we know what he can be.
8:21It's just you're already drafted as him at J.E.F.C.
8:23says here's a bold prediction. Luther Burden and Matthew Golden finish roughly the same.
8:27OK, so you know what I think about Packers receivers every year.
8:30So this must mean they're both going to finish top 10.
8:33So I should bump Burden up my ranks. I was going to say, does J.A.F.C.
8:37have confidence in Matthew Golden? That's a good question.
8:40Is that a compliment or an insult? I don't really know, actually.
8:43I can't tell. Boy, I think I would rather have...
8:46What do you think Matthew Golden is going to be?
8:49Wide receiver 35? Yeah, in that range. I have heard it ahead.
8:52Yeah. We're going to talk about this at some point, because I think we need to go back and talk a little bit about Packers receivers.
8:59Don't do it. Whatever I say, the opposite will happen.
9:02We know that. So we need to address that at some point.
9:05So people know what to do. If I say Golden breakout, you know, fade him.
9:09We know that. We'll do that at some point.
9:11I think you should just play it safe and say that I anticipate Matthew Golden to be wider saver 290, Christian Watson
9:17to be wider saver 291, and Jaden Reed to be wider saver 292.
9:21Then I'll be right for sure, because they'll all...
9:23Well, maybe they won't. I don't know. Based on my track record with Watson and Golden and all these guys, who knows?
9:29But yeah, I mean, I think some changes in Green Bay a little bit.
9:33I think they're going to try to focus in that target share a little bit.
9:37So I want to ask you guys some strategy questions.
9:40We're right out here on the cusp. We got about five minutes till our draft starts really quickly.
9:45The people in our draft today, so we can let everybody know who we will be participating with.
9:50Eric Moody, Tristan H Cockroft, David Presley, Eric Carabelle, Liz Loza, Field Yates, Matt Bowen, Tyler Fulgham, Cam Wolf, Mike Clay, and...
9:56Matt Cam. And Kevin Pulsifer, so all 12 of us will be there.
9:59I want to ask you guys this. This is obviously quite a bit different than a lot of the mock drafts we normally do.
10:06Not only is it super flex, but it's a second flex, so we have two flex positions, plus the OP spot.
10:11When you go through and you're looking at this, are you almost always a...
10:15And I realize this may be giving away some draft strategy.
10:18Yeah. That's what we do on the show, Daniel.
10:21Do you... Thanks, Mike. Thanks for letting me know what we do on this show.
10:25That's literally the purpose of the show. Thank you.
10:27We talked about this last week when we were on vacation.
10:30Rich. I have a question after this, but to get us to the finish line of our pre...
10:35How early do you go? Is like first round a must for a quarterback?
10:39Do you have to go? Not a must. Not a must, because if I'm at the tail end of round one and
10:45the top tier of quarterbacks has been wiped, then I'm totally fine picking one of the elite receivers or running backs that has fallen.
10:51But I feel very anxious if I don't have a quarterback in the first two rounds.
10:56And I feel downright naked if I have no quarterback in the first round.
11:00I definitely feel like in super flex leagues, people get that itchy trigger finger more often than any other position in any
11:06other league type because you're like, I have to...
11:08There's two of them. And you know for a fact there's only 32 starters.
11:12Yeah. And of those 32 starters, there's only a handful I want on my fantasy team.
11:16So it's just a really tough one to be able to figure out how you want to come off the board.
11:22Yeah. I mean, I feel like the 10... Not to give away draft strategy on this program, but I feel like that
11:28kind of 10 to 20 range of quarterback is very similar to me.
11:31Totally. So to Field's point, it's going to kind of depend how this draft goes.
11:35I think that... I'm picking at 11, right? So I pick 11 and 14.
11:39You mentioned a 12-teamer. I would put money on me taking a quarterback with one of those two.
11:44One of those two. Not zero, not two. One of those two picks.
11:48So we'll see how it flows though. Last thing I'll say, and I want to get to some news that I think
11:54is interesting as it pertains to pick one, because Eric Moody is making pick one.
11:58He won't be on the microphone. So I'll get my Clay's take.
12:01Um, please remember that the projections and the rankings are just a guideline.
12:04Yeah. Especially in the super flex leagues. Mm-hmm. Take a player that you want, because if you're sitting there and you're like, well, I could get...
12:12I'm just making this up here. I could get Justin Herbert with my third round pick, but it's the end of the
12:18second round or middle of the second round. I'm not entirely sure that I will get him.
12:22Mm-hmm. Just take him. If you want to just take him, right?
12:25Because that quarterback well is going to dry up really quickly.
12:28Second thing, and this is a little bit of news from Adam Schefter, the only person that Mike Clay has a push notification on from.
12:35Mm-hmm. Um, Cade Mays, who the Lions paid three years and $25.5 million this off season too, has a significant wrist injury
12:41that's going to cause him to miss some time.
12:44Mike, when we did the Jameer Gibbs versus B.
12:46John Robinson debate last week at 1.01, I broke the tie.
12:49Sorry, Daniel should have had you put some earmuffs on there.
12:52Uh, I broke the tie in part because I think here's what I said.
12:56I think the B. John is like a 2% more talented player.
12:59And I have more optimism in the Atlanta Falcons offensive line than the Detroit Lions offensive line.
13:04If you had to break the tie, how would you wear?
13:07Which player would you lean towards at 1.01? So I had a very, it was very close for me as well.
13:12I initially earlier in the off season, I had Robinson.
13:15I ended up flipping to Gibbs. And one of the reasons for that, that broke the tie for me was actually weirdly
13:21enough, the number two running back there where you're like, okay, Isaiah Pacheco, not super worried about him and the commentary that Gibbs will play an expanded role.
13:29And this guy was already a top three back the last couple of years and we're going to give them even more.
13:35So I feel great about that. And on the other, on the other hand, you have Brian Robinson who apparently, and again,
13:41you take this with a grain of salt, but Brian Robinson Jr.
13:44Essentially promised somewhat of a role like more so than he's had in the past.
13:48So that was enough to get me to like this guy.
13:51It's Gibbs. So I like this guy. I hear you like this guy and this guy right here.
13:56I don't know. Look, he may solid center. I don't know.
13:59Like if they go to like juice Scruggs or someone else like that.
14:02I don't think it's going to crush this offensive line.
14:05It's not like it's been a stool or someone going down.
14:08Not ideal for sure. But I think, I think that lines.
14:11O line is passable. My take is generally like if you have an elite O line.
14:15Great. If you have a horrible one, that's a big problem.
14:18If you're somewhere in the mid twenties, you're usually okay.
14:21So I'm not really super concerned. You know, the nice thing about having the skill set that someone like Jameer Gibbs has
14:27is even if your O line isn't elite, you've got a skill set to be able to overcome some of those situations.
14:33They say timing is everything in life. We're 48 seconds away from the start of the draft.
14:38Isaiah Pacheco, by the way, just moments ago, we found out from Adam Schefter.
14:41We need an Adam Schefter drop. We really do.
14:44We should, it should just, it should just be sources, sources, sources, sources, sources.
14:48And it'll be an Adam Schefter drop. Isaiah Pacheco.
14:50One minute ago. Has a sprained MCL. Shut up.
14:53So he's going to miss, but, but Dan Campbell expects him to be ready for the season opener.
14:58So we just sort of made the case against Jameer Gibbs is one-on-one and then kind of re-fortified the case for Jameer Gibbs one-on-one.
15:04The big takeaway, again, the most important thing. There are a lot of things in life you can spend your energy on.
15:10Don't spend too much of it on who to take first between Jameer Gibbs and B.

16:27Also, in this super flex mock draft, I think that all three of us would suggest probably not Shamir Gibbs or B.
16:33John Robinson, but Josh Allen is what I would assume.
16:36I will see. I know which way I would go, and Eric Moody is about to make the pick right now.
16:42Just saying it. Each pick, by the way, you have 24 hours to make each pick, so we'll be here until November.
16:48It'll be a long draft. We really do have 24 hours.
16:51I didn't realize that. Wow. Holy cow. Moody is creating some suspense.
16:54He's probably talking to the chat. That's exactly what's going on.
16:5716 seconds in. He's still deliberate. Yep. He's had weeks to make this pick.
17:01There we go, Josh Allen off the board. Hey, Eric Moody is on the board.
17:05Any thoughts? We'll try to rip through these things.
17:07No, that's exactly what it should be. Tristan Cockroft took Lamar Jackson, and I'm going to go with my number two quarterback
17:13on the board, which is Drake May with a third overall pick.
17:17Ready? Drake May. A little bit of value there for you, perhaps.
17:20Yep. Dave Presley on the clock. We've seen four quarterbacks off the board.
17:23This is usually how I've seen a lot of super flex drafts start, and then you get to that point where you
17:29say, all right, do I want to go with the best skill position player or whatever quarterback is left?
17:35We're not there yet. We talked about quarterback tiers last week.
17:38My first tier of quarterbacks is actually five players.
17:40This is a chance for me to dip into my non quarterback.
17:43Well, and I am going to take B. John Robinson.
17:46There you go. Money where my mouth is. B.
17:48John Robinson goes seventh overall. I can. I feel comfortable.
17:51I'll get a quarterback at 18. I have no issue with that.
17:54And I do feel better, as always, about the wide receiver depth and the running back depth.
17:59Kevin Pulsper, the ace researcher, lets me know that if we continue with a 24 hour clock and everybody made one pick
18:05every 24 hours, we would be on the clock until March 14th, 2027.
18:08It would be free agency. That's incredible. We'd still be making our draft picks.
18:12Thank you, Puls. That'd make a lot of our picks a lot easier.
18:16Yes, it would. Good point. All right. I'm going to quickly recap where we're at right now.
18:20First round almost in the books. I took Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Drake May, Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts, and Jaden Daniels.
18:26Those were the first six picks. And then field with the first non-quarterback.
18:30Bajon Robinson came off the board at pick seven.
18:32Then Jameer Gibbs, Puka Nakua, Jamar Chase. And the quarterback run is off.
18:36They have gone five straight picks of no quarterbacks, make it six with Puls taking Amon Ross St.
18:41Brown at pick 12. Yeah, closing out the first round.
18:43Anything about that first round that seemed odd to you?
18:46Because that felt like a really chalky first round to me.
18:49Nope. Nothing odd. I have quarterbacks ahead of Joe Burrow.
18:52So he was the one that's probably went higher than if I were making every pick myself, but no surprise there.
18:57This is where it's interesting field. You and I are going to be at the, well, I'm at the front half of the draft.
19:04Yep. I've already taken my quarterback, but you guys, a lot of people here now in the second half of the first
19:10round or first half of the second round have to decide if I didn't get a quarterback in the first, do I take one here in the second?
19:17I'm interested to see what comes off the board next.
19:20Yep. Mike went with. Wow. Yeah. Jonathan Taylor. You put money.
19:23Yeah. You just said that you're going to take a quarterback with one of the first two.
19:28Here's the thing. What made you pivot? I thought that with, there was enough depth of quarterback to at least one of those top guys would fall.
19:35I'm a little surprised. We went, what was it?
19:38Six for six straight start to draft. I thought I might get one of them guys around the turn and it just felt a little early.
19:45Again, we've kind of hit that point where it's like Purdy and my homes and dart and Herbert and so forth and
19:51so on where I just don't know if there's enough of a cliff to not address another position.
19:56Okay. Two things for me that I want to note right now is I think it's really hard to keep up with
20:01literally every pick of every team when you're doing just a standard 10 team PPR draft.
20:06Yeah. I do believe that when you're in a super flex league, you got a bank on every person planning to take
20:12at least one quarterback in the first three rounds.
20:14So you can't sort of do the math on it.
20:17Like, all right, I've already seen that Mike hasn't taken a quarterback yet.
20:21He's going to take one with his third pick and Wolf.
20:23Same deal. He's gonna take a quarterback with his third pick.
20:26I have not taken a quarterback with either of my first two selections.
20:30So I'm going to take Justin Jefferson just to keep things rolling here.
20:34Okay. So I need, but I am now announcing to the draft room.
20:37You basically say one I'm backed into a quarterback corner.
20:40Yeah. So if that, if that quarterback run is ridiculous for the next 10 picks, then I might have like, it might
20:46be Jared Goff and Kim Ward as my two QBs in this league.
20:49And I have to live with that. But the upside is that I now have B.
20:54John Robinson and Justin Jefferson. Are you, um, my, one of my big takeaways from week one, Mike is like the Vikings
21:00are not going to let Justin Jefferson fail again this year agreement or no.
21:03I agree. I think that, uh, what we've seen from Kyler Murray in the past is that he can't support a lot
21:09of fantasy relevant players, but he can support a fantasy relevant superstar.
21:13Uh, and who's that going to be in Minnesota?
21:15There's only one guy. It's going to be just Jalen Naylor's gone.
21:18I'm going to go. I mean, that's sure. That frees up Jefferson for an extra, you know, to get them from what
21:24nine to 10 targets a game or whatever it might be.
21:27So yeah, I mean, yeah, they have Addison and they have Juwan Jennings.
21:31They have TJ Hawkinson, but the fact is you're going to feature Jefferson, especially after what happened last year.
21:36I'm with you. It's not going to happen again.
21:38I'm going to give you guys a quick rundown of the second round.
21:42It's almost over here. I just picked my pick here.
21:45Yeah. So we're right here. Second round looks like this.
21:47Kevin Pauls for took Dak Prescott. Mike took Jonathan Taylor.
21:50Then we had CMC coming off the board of Cam Wolf, Justin Herbert and Caleb Williams back to back.
21:55Then field jates took Justin Jefferson, Trevor Lawrence, Devon H and CD lamb.
21:59And I took James cook. Tristan H. Cockroft took Ashton Jente and the last pick of the second round, Jackson dart.
22:05So has Dart and Alan. He's basically probably avoiding the quarterback situation the rest of the draft and just taking highest.
22:10I mean, there's good comfort knowing that like you're, you're dealing with like your, your projections probably going to hover at like 44 points.
22:17Yes. Just with your quarterbacks every week, right? That's a good number right there to start for Eric Moody.
22:22Yeah. As long as dart makes the leap this year.
22:25And I think he's going to us. We'll get to over the next couple of weeks.
22:29I mean, darts, one of my, one of my guys this year, for sure.
22:33I like that start. I do. I don't mind that Alan, obviously dart and then chase Brown too, is your RB one.
22:39I mean, you could, I love to have five upside.
22:41Yes, absolutely. That carried over from last year. You're still on the, on the, I'm still on the chase Brown train.
22:47Yes. I talked about it. Yeah. Have you guys seen the, uh, the bills, double nickel uniforms?
22:52I have not. That could be a problem actually.
22:54That could, uh, okay. So you're in agreement. This is not my opinion.
22:58I'm going to state the internet's opinion and I'm going to see where you land.
23:02Daniel, you should Google them in the meantime. Okay.
23:04The double nickel uniforms, double nickel uniforms, Mike, the internet is saying they're the worst uniforms in the history of the NFL.
23:10Yeah. We'll take another look while we're double nickels, what we're calling them.
23:14Double nickel. I did see them. I did see them briefly.
23:17I'm going to look. Yeah. Oh my gosh. Yeah.
23:19Or nickel city. That's that's the worst. I don't like it.
23:22I don't think they're the worst ever, but they're, they're bad.
23:25No, they're the worst. I want to clear my search history after looking.
23:29That's I am on the clock here. I told you guys, I have announced I'm taking a quarterback at pick number 31.
23:35Who's on the board for you to choose from field.
23:37Patrick Mahomes, Matthew Stafford, Bo Nix, Kyler Murray. So some young guys.
23:41And then also some MVPs. I take Patrick Mahomes.
23:43Love that. Pick number 31. I a little earlier in the draft.
23:46I decided not to go with the second quarterback and went with a second running back.
23:51You guys know I am all in. I have a Maureen Hampton as my RB five.
23:55So for me, I started out the draft with the quarterback, Drake may, then took James cook in the second and then went with Omari and Hampton.
24:02So I've locked up my two starting running backs.
24:05I love the quarterback. I started with looking good.
24:07A lot of wide receivers left in the draft.
24:10So I'm all right with not having a wide receiver yet.
24:13So we'll see how this keeps working out field.
24:15What is your, what are you looking like through three rounds?
24:18Patrick Mahomes is my quarterback. RB one is B John Robinson.
24:21Wide receiver. One is Justin Jefferson. Okay. You know, it's surprising to me that we're now through 35 picks.
24:26Oh, Mike is on the clock. I picked number 35 selection.
24:29Made. The first quarterback. His first quarterback. Yep. Matthew Stafford.
24:32I'll talk about him, but the first tight end didn't go until pick 33.
24:36Mike, I'm Matthew Stafford to me. Um, it's probably not fair to call an MVP a sleeper, but there's probably going to
24:42be people that are like, so you're telling me the guy that scored the second most fantasy points amongst quarterbacks is going 15th.
24:48And that's normal. Mm-hmm. I'm on a Fox. So what's the value?
24:51I was going to say, you could hear that.
24:54Mm-hmm. I've heard that on the phone before. Mm-hmm.
24:56I'm with you. I think that, uh, Stafford, this look, he, he has regression written all of them statistically.
25:01And I projected him as such, but the situation is so good that there's no doubt he should put up a ton of passing touchdowns again this season.
25:09So in super flex to get him after get him along with Jonathan Taylor, JSN, and I got Trey McBride here as well.
25:15Oh, so to have Stafford as my QB one.
25:18And that's kind of my point. Once you get to a certain cliff of quarterback, there's not much difference between Stafford and
25:24quarterbacks that were going in like, honestly, near the one, two turn.
25:27I don't think Stafford and Dak Prescott have a huge gap between them at all.
25:31So our type of how they win is pretty similar, right?
25:34Exactly. More rushing upside, obviously, because he's not going to run for a single yard like Matthew Stafford.
25:39He's going to lose you, uh, most likely I'm on the clock and I, I had a quarterback in my last round, which was Patrick Mahomes.
25:46I thought about stacking Justin Jefferson with Kyler Murray.
25:48And I instead stacked Patrick Mahomes. If you can call this a stack with Kenneth Walker, the third, my RB nine, a guy that I'm optimistic on.
25:56Uh, the chiefs have, I believe very little competition for Kenneth Walker, the third in that backfield.
26:00They paid him real money. And I think that we're going to see the best version that we have seen from him over a full year.
26:07Obviously it's hard to beat being the Superbowl MVP, but for a full season, I think the best years of Kenneth Walker,
26:13the third career on tap right now. Yeah, he's a good player.
26:17I'm fine with it where you took him. I think he's a hair overvalued in drafts just because I've seen him going
26:23ahead of some of those guys in that five to 10 range, who I think are kind of certified stars at the position or have a higher ceiling.
26:30So I'm on the tail end of that group, but you know, it's, I could see him finishing RB seven, eight, nine.
26:36Okay. So here are running backs that are just, that are still available.
26:40And you tell me if they qualify into that category you're talking about Josh Jacobs, Jacobs.
26:44I have a Jacobs just, well, it's close. I would say it's not, I have Walker one ahead of him, but it's a close call.
26:51Okay. So it looks like all the running backs that you're referring to have been washed out.
26:55Yeah, that's what I'm saying. So it's fine. Like I'm talking, uh, Barkley, Henry, Chase Brown, Hampton, Jentey.
27:00Like I've seen a Jeremiah love like Walker ranked ahead of a lot of those guys.
27:05I'm ahead of a couple. I'm not that high.
27:07Yeah. I'm not that high. Well guys, I'm going to, uh, can we cut that as a thing?
27:12Mike, just saying I'm not that high. I'm not that high.
27:15I just think that's really funny guys. Uh, all right.
27:18Fourth round. I really quickly want to run through what our fourth round looked like.
27:22Um, started with AJ Brown from Kevin Pulse for Mike.
27:25You took Trey McBride second tight end off the board in the fourth round.
27:28Mind you, this is late for tight end, but we have the super flex.
27:32So it kind of pushed the tight ends a little bit farther down the board.
27:36It's like a good, good pull there. Then Tyler Shuck came off the board.
27:40I was hoping he was going to make it to me.
27:43Jared Goff, Chris Olave, Kenneth Walker, who we talked about with field Liz Loza took Rashi Rice, then Nico Collins, Kyler Murray for, uh, David Presley.
27:50I went with Colston Loveland as the first tight end off the board.
27:54I've got Tyler Warren actually ranked ahead of Colston Loveland, but with the Luther burden news that came out today, I thought,
28:00why not maybe push him ahead just a little bit then Brees Hall update the ranks.
28:04I probably will. Yes, I probably will. Uh, Brees Hall then at pick 11 and Malik neighbors fourth round 12th pick Eric Moody.
28:10He's, is this the best start to the draft so far?
28:13You think it's really strong? Oh, wow. I mean, second, it's a really good start.
28:17It's a, it's a really strong start. Yeah. I like the battery there with Dart and neighbors in, uh, in super flex
28:23for sure, but two risky guys back to back there.
28:26Actually, you can make a case. Three of these guys are pretty risky because Dart's an unproven product.
28:31Neighbor's probably now going to play in week one, but what do we get out of him?
28:35Is it going to be, is it going to be a slow start?
28:39Some uncertainty there. And of course, Josh Jacobs off field concerns there and some age concerns, age plus volume concerns.
28:44It was violent today. Let's, let's use the, what Mike just said.
28:48And Josh Jacobs is like to set this up sort of a catch-all for a few players to fit in this category.
28:54You're up. I'm going to let this happen and then I'll, we'll keep moving.
28:57It's August 10th. We have a little over a month until the regular season begins.
29:02Actually yesterday was exactly one month to Patriots Seahawks.
29:04I think there are a few off field situations.
29:06The NFL will look to tie together the loose ends on one of those would be Josh Jacobs.
29:11Like I don't think that there is 100% certainty that he's going to be available for the opener of the season.
29:17We don't know. We'll see, but he fits into a category.
29:20Rashi Rice might be in that as well. There are a few of them.
29:24So unknowns, I'm just putting that out there. Like any of these guys, if you've seen something involving them off the field
29:30and there hasn't been a statement that they're not going to be punished, just assume some margin of risk there.
29:35All right. I'm here in the fifth round guys.
29:38I'm going to make a pick. I've got Drake May, James Cook, Omari in Hampton and Colston Loveland right now locked up.
29:44No wide receivers and the quarterbacks dry up pretty quickly after this.
29:47And so I think I'm going to go with a second quarterback and take Baker Mayfield.
29:51Great name. Just take a nice, a really great name, just a high floor QB two, to be honest.
29:56And we've seen that unbelievable ceiling when Baker Mayfield is hot.
29:59Uh, coming after that, Kyron Williams, Javante Williams. And now we're going to start seeing, I think we're going to be at a point now.
30:06I wonder how many of these second quarterbacks, how long they're going to last?
30:10Cause I like a lot more of these other names more than some of the quarterbacks that we're staring at on the board.
30:16I do as well. Jordan love there with my fifth picks, my two quarterbacks, Patrick Mahomes and Jordan love in our quarterback tears show last week.
30:23We didn't talk about him extensively, but I mentioned that I'm higher on Jordan love than our consensus ranks.
30:28He's 16th in my quarterback rankings. A lot of optimism about this offense.
30:32It's never been about talent. They have plenty of talent.
30:35It's, it's been just about, I would say Josh Jacobs scoring all the touchdowns.
30:38And then if rostering the wide receivers, there's always baked in risk because you never know which one's going to have the big week.
30:45Yes. But Jordan love, I think has a chance.
30:47He's a great player, very talented guy. Dad as well, this off season, feel like you have to bake in like the dad shrank for there.
30:55Yeah. That's fair. Mike, you were heavy right now.
30:57I can see it on your face. I love watching you draft cause you get so locked into the zone.
31:02So what I'm doing here, just a little strategy and you should always be doing this, especially if you're near the turn is I'm here at 11.
31:10Yes. Evan Pulsiver has two picks before I'm back up again.
31:13So I'm looking at his roster to smart. If he needs a quarterback, wait, he has Dak Prescott, no second quarterback.
31:18I think there's a decent chance considering what's left that he takes a shot at a second quarterback here.
31:24There's one guy that kind of stands out for me.
31:26There's a couple options here. Daniel Jones, Sam Darnold, Malik Willis, Bryce Young.
31:30So I could in theory wait a little bit.
31:32I think Jones, Darnold's kind of a safe play.
31:35Jones, maybe a little safer than that. Malik Willis, obviously a two-way player, but I'm worried about it being a disaster in Miami.
31:41So I'm going to go Daniel Jones here. If you remember how good he was to start last season, it seems like he's healthy.
31:47I'm a little concerned about how much he's going to run.
31:50Cause he already didn't do that a lot last year, but I want to get Jones here.
31:55I feel like Stafford Daniel Jones is a good considering I waited so long a quarterback.
31:59I think having those two guys is a good.
32:02Pulsiver realized that he is all too happy to take Malik Willis.
32:05He is a believer in Malik. Oh, wow. But then he, then he got me there and he got you with cam.
32:11Yeah. I added you up right there. Yeah. This makes me nervous.
32:14Cause I'm in heavy on two giants. Mike, give me your roster.
32:18Let's tell me your roster now so that we can know what you're looking for.
32:22And then we'll look at what's on the board.
32:24Okay. So I've let's see, I'll go into order of, of selection.
32:27Does that work for you? JSN was the first pick.
32:30Jonathan Taylor was two picks later. Then we have Trey McBride, Matthew Stafford and Daniel Jones.
32:34Okay. So you got both your quarterbacks taken care of.
32:37You got one running back, one wide receiver, and your tight end spot is good.
32:41So you're looking probably for running back or wide receiver here.
32:44Yeah. And we have plenty of good options here.
32:47I'm going to go, I think running back here.
32:49Let's see what's available. Quinch on Judkins. And that's starting to dry up.
32:53We're looking at Bucky Irving, Deandre Swift, Trevion Henderson.
32:55So I'm going to go with a guy that I like clearly ahead of the rest of them.
33:00And you can see it in the projections I'm buying in.
33:03I think we get a little more passing game involved in this year.
33:07Price is right, baby. He's going to be heavily involved as a rusher.
33:10We know that should have one of the highest carry shares in the NFL this year.
33:14Give me Quinch on Judkins. Wow. The price is wrong.
33:17Price is wrong. I thought you were going to do.
33:20Oh yeah. Yes. Uh, no, no, not, uh, no big deal.
33:23Little, little. Yeah. I like Judkins more. Give me Judkins.
33:26Why? I just, for some reason I just, I mostly wasn't the whole thing about more passing game involvement.
33:31Okay. Got it. Harry share. Um, I just, if we get somewhat competent quarterback play, which is not a guarantee, uh, I
33:37think that Judkins can make a nice leap and it seems like he's healthy and ready to go very young player too.
33:43Uh, he's still very much on the upswing. So pretty pumped for him.
33:46That offense is just incredibly young across the board.
33:49Every single one of their players. It feels like is even Jerry Judy is only 22.
33:53People don't know that somehow. That's not true. That's a lie.
33:56I think he's 27. He's still very young. Yeah.

35:55A guy that I think has a chance to really explode this season.
35:58Never wrong, only early. Lazio Conkey had him as a preseason favorite last year.
36:02I don't know. Maybe I'm just putting too much credence into this Mike McDaniel offense, but every time Mike McDaniel had a healthy offense, he absolutely mashed.
36:10And even in years in which the offense wasn't full Voltron, he still had some fantasy megastars.
36:14So I am very in on this Chargers offense this year.
36:17The price is right for you, Danny. Price is right field.
36:20I love Jadarian Price. We talked about it last week, Mike, in case you didn't listen, I am very much in on
36:26Jadarian Price, how much the Seattle Seahawks run the football.
36:29I don't think that's going to change here this year with the unknown of when Zach Charbonnet will be back to this team.
36:35Jadarian Price should just have a ton of work and I love him here.
36:39I got him as my RB3. So I'm probably not going to draft a lot of running backs from here on out.
36:45I actually have not drafted a single wide receiver yet.
36:48If you look at my squad, James Cook, Omari and Hampton, Colston Loveland, Jadarian Price and Baker Mayfield.
36:53So this first pick wide receiver one for me will be a seventh round pick.
36:57And I wonder who's going to be on the board because I'm looking at Devante Adams.
37:01You are just killing me right now. Who did Tristan take?
37:04A Mecca, a Buka, Tristan did. I actually was looking at Mecca too.
37:07You're still like 10 picks away. I know, but I had no idea that he was still available.
37:12I just assumed he was long gone because I love the guy.
37:16I took Lad McConkie over him last round, which I like Lad a lot too, but I would have taken a Buka.
37:22Wow. But to your point, Daniel, because it's super flex, we're in round seven here and you're looking at Devante Adams, Terry
37:28McLaurin, Jamison Williams, DJ Moore, Mike Evans, Roma Dunze.
37:30Yep. There's a lot of options here. Yeah, they're not wide receiver ones necessarily, but with the rest of what I have
37:36already put together, I feel very comfortable with them being the wide receivers of my squad.
37:40And I also feel like wide receiver is the easiest position to kind of outperform your ADP as you get into some
37:46of those deeper rounds too later on in the draft.
37:49Eric Moody really milking the clock on this one.
37:51He's probably got some Zeppelin in his headphones right now.
37:54Just sort of. My mom's calling me right now.
37:57Clearly she's a huge fan of the show. Thanks mom.
37:59Right in the middle of it. Mama Yates. You're not busy at this time.
38:03Basial Tootin. I think I say his name wrong.
38:06Do I, how do. Um, I, you know what?
38:08I'm going to refrain. Thank you. H.M. Tootin. That's very good.
38:11I'll refrain from an answer because I'm, what I was going to say is I'm going to refrain from an answer because
38:17we learned this off season that Travis E.T. has name is Travis H.M.
38:21But I'd be a two by a half second.
38:23And your, your, your answer was much funnier too.
38:25Um, I believe it's Basial Tootin, but I would like a Jaguars fan that's either in the chat or listens to this
38:31or watches this later to send us a print, uh, correct pronunciation.
38:35Do you pronounce it? Jadarian price. I say Jadarian and you said Jadarian.
38:38Jadarian. You wonder if I was positive is his name.
38:41This is what August is for. Pronunciations nailed down.
38:43I would like to know. Yes. Before we get into the season.
38:47All right. So I'm on the clock. Devante Adams was the only one of those wide receivers that you named Mike that came off the board.
38:54So my wide receiver one is either going to be Terry McLaurin, Jamison Williams, or DJ Moore.
38:58Those are the top three that I'm thinking about.
39:01And just because of the love that I have for this team and I haven't taken one yet.
39:06Of course I got to take JMO. Yeah. I mean, it's a wide receiver attached to one of, if not the most explosive offenses in the NFL.
39:13So good. Yeah. I feel like we've reached this point now with, with Williams where, and again, this is like some of
39:19what I say is just following the industry, right?
39:21We have a lot of colleagues we respect on football, Twitter, whatever it might be.
39:25And like, we've reached a point where Jamison was like, that's the guy he's going to break out now.
39:31And it wasn't happening. And then it happened. Now he said back to back thousand yard seasons.
39:35He's fantastic. Still a good offense. And now it's just like, he's overvalued now.
39:39Suddenly like he was awesome last year. And he's still going to have heavy involvement in this lion's offense with a tree.
39:45That's going to be, you know, three guys. It's going to be St.
39:49Brown, him while Laporta, he's healthy now. And Jim Moore, it gives out of the backfield, but obviously a lot of his
39:55damage will be done in the run game as well.
39:57So there's room for four. And the nice thing about that, the involvement for Jamo is all it takes is one.
40:03Even if he doesn't get as many touches as some of the other guys, he's got one of those skill sets that
40:09doesn't take a lot to be able to get him some big plays.
40:12All right. So the lineup that I have one more time, really quickly through the first seven rounds of the draft.
40:18Yeah. Drake may James cook, Omari and Hampton, Jamison Williams, Colston Loveland, Jadari and price and Baker Mayfield.
40:23For those that are reading or watching right now where it says flex next to Baker Mayfield, that's an OP spot.
40:29Yes. The last people are aware. So that's why Baker Mayfield slides in there as opposed to on the bench is your backup quarterback.
40:35I just made my seventh round pick. Here's my lineup.
40:38Eighth round pick. Seventh. Patrick Mahomes, Bijon, Kenneth Walker, the third, Justin Jefferson, Ladd McConkie.
40:42Jordan Love is my OP slash QB two. Yep.
40:45And Terry McLaurin was my seventh round pick right there.
40:47I debated between him and a couple of other wide receivers, ultimately breaking the tie that, man, there's a big pathway for
40:53him in Washington, even with the addition of Stefan Diggs.
40:56Yeah. I mean, if he's your wide receiver three.
40:58Sure. That's a pretty good. That's a pretty nice spot for you, given what he's going to be in that offense as well.
41:05I thought Diggs had a nice projection, Mike. I expressed optimism.
41:08You have him in like this wide receiver. We talked a little lower.
41:11More than this in the, in the, in the standard PPR rankings, he'll be a little bit lower than this, but he's,
41:17he's popping up higher in the super. Mike Clay deciding.
41:20Rathroom for some reason, but yeah. He's going to, I'm going to look at that.
41:24His Luther burden take to the test and goes with Roma Dunze here.
41:27Yeah. At the end of the seventh round, beginning of the eighth round here now on the table.
41:32Yeah. Why go with Roma Dunze over DJ Moore?
41:35A close call. I do have a Dunze projected slightly head plus with the injury to burden.
41:39I mean, this gives a chance to sort of establish himself with Caleb Williams.
41:43So it's kind of funny. I'm lower than most on Caleb Williams, but I'm in on a Dunze.
41:48I'm very much in on Colson Loveland and burden I'm down on.
41:51But the thing is much like your lions, the, the tree is so condensed with who's going to get the football in Chicago this year.
41:58So I feel a pretty good about a handful of these guys.
42:01I was at quarterback 15 on Caleb Williams, Mike, which is low relative to the rest of me.
42:06So I'm pretty low to say that like the synopsis, as I put it during our quarterback rankings episode was all the tools are there to be great.
42:14He can run, they can design some runs for him.
42:17It's obviously a very efficient or can be a very efficient passing offense.
42:20Um, it, it just, I need to see it more consistently before I buy into him catapulting ahead of the likes of
42:26guys, Matthew Stafford and a few other guys that I have ranked in like Brock Purdy, Trevor Lawrence range.
42:31All right. We're going upside with this pick. Damn you.
42:34Tell us about it. Tell us about it, Mike Clay.
42:37Give us your lineup. Now Tate was the fourth overall pick in the draft.
42:41And yeah, one of my guys, guys picked in the top 10 wide receiver are featured targets.
42:45They average around a 20 or so percent target share.
42:48They're generally wide receiver twos or threes, basically all of them that have been drafted over the past five to 10 years
42:54in, you know, early in the first round. So I feel like his target share is safe.
42:58Calvin Ridley's headed the wrong direction. Obviously Wandale Robinson will be busy in terms of target volume, but it's going to be a lot of short range stuff.
43:06There's going to be room for Tate downfield. And we talk about this every year and we will more over the next few weeks.
43:13What is the year for quarterback breakouts? Year number two.
43:15So Cam Ward not getting a lot of chatter this offseason, but no one should be shocked if he finishes QB nine or something.
43:22Like if he makes a big leap, it's very possible.
43:25That's often when these guys have made that big step forward.
43:28Yeah, Mike, I'm quite a bit higher than the rest of our rankers at Carnell Tate.
43:32I've been as wide receiver 22. And I do like Wandale, exactly what you just said.
43:36I just think that Tate, and I am guilty of this to a degree myself, during the pre-draft process, sort of the
43:42rhetoric on Carnell Tate was like, he might be wide receiver one in this class.
43:46But this is just a really bad wide receiver class.
43:49He's not, he's a solid wide receiver too in the NFL.
43:52I've been going back and watching Ohio State tape for both Jeremiah Smith's purposes and Julian Sayan's purposes.
43:57If you want to listen to first draft, it's now back in action.
44:00And I think I just kind of underappreciated Carnell Tate a little bit last year.
44:04And he's just darn good, reliable. I thought he was the most pro-ready prospect in the class.
44:09I think Cam Ward makes a leap. I like this offense other than the offensive line.
44:13So I'm optimistic on Carnell Tate this year. Yeah, me too.
44:16I'm high as well. You are so high today.
44:19I'm high on not sleep. Not sleeping. It's the second time you're talking about how high he is.
44:24I was waiting for Daniel to respond, but he's on the clock.
44:27I was, I'm sorry. Yes, I was not. I actually said that by accident again.
44:31But then as soon as I heard it. By accident.
44:34Yes. Great at Daniel. And he's a clip all the time.
44:37He says, I'm high. I went with DK Metcalf as my wide receiver too.
44:41Here's the deal. I, I'm not upset at this build.
44:43Wide receiver though is like, I've got a bunch of guys.
44:46I don't love to choose between. It's like Alec Pierce, Marvin Harrison Jr.
44:50Jordan Tyson. And Michael Wilson, DK Metcalf. I mean, I'm worried that, that Aaron Rogers won't be able to throw the, to
44:56throw the ball more than 15 yards downfield. I still went with DK as my wide receiver too.
45:01I know. That's the, that's the thing. So I'm going to have to figure some things out.
45:05Love the rest of my squad though. Okay. And at least the wide receiver spot, like I said, is one of those
45:11ones I think is easier to attack both in free agency and the rest of this draft.
45:16Draft's not over guys. First Jaguars wide receiver was taken.
45:19Was it Parker? Yeah. Yeah. Thoughts Mike. I love it.
45:21Okay. Yeah. Parker's my guy from this group. He was, I just think the cat's out of the bag with Parker Washington.
45:27He was just so good. Yeah. And, and by the way, there's nothing that I've seen this entire off season that suggests that's going to change at all.
45:35I mean, you've seen a little bit like old reliable Jacoby Myers and they want to get the ball to Brenton Strangemore.
45:41Travis Center is going to play offense and Brian Thomas will be, I don't know, he's healthy now and he's still going to be a vertical target.
45:48It's not like they're going to like get him back to where he was two years ago.
45:53Not to mention that Brian Thomas has not been a fantasy star with Trevor Lawrence at all.
45:57Like zero times. It all happened with Mac Jones.
46:00Yeah. So I think that connection's for real. And it's, again, this isn't a guy like a Parker Washington.
46:05It's not like Nick Westbrook where he's like a journeyman veteran and has a spike of touchdowns.
46:10It was legit target volume. And that goes back to before last year when he has played a lot, when he's played
46:16over half to snaps, he's about a 20% target share and has been delivering wide receiver two numbers.
46:21So it looks like that connection's really strong. I'm, I'm in on Washington.
46:24He's, and he's awesome. I have him 36th. So it's not like we're getting carried away.
46:28That's about where he's going in drafts, but that puts him ahead of the other Jacksonville receivers.
46:33How high are you on Parker Washington? I am so high on Parker Washington.
46:37Oh man, this is so good. Um, I, you know, this, this Jaguars wide receiver, like this is a referendum year one
46:43way or the other on Brian Thomas jr. Yes.
46:45Cause he's the one that's going to, I think, generate the most reaction to whatever happens this year.
46:50And what I mean by that is if Parker Washington is being drafted as wide receiver 36 and he finishes wide receiver
46:56on the high end, wide receiver 28 on the high and wide receiver 20, on the low end wide receiver 42, no
47:02one's going to really react to that one way or the other.
47:05Right. It's like, yeah, he was a really good player who had a pretty good season.
47:10Brian Thomas jr. Like the hope was you had a mega star.
47:13You had a guy that was the foundation of your dynasty team, perhaps a second round pick and redraft leagues.
47:18Now the answer is, is he even a part of the Jaguars future?
47:22Because that Jaguars future includes a lot of other guys who have been paid already.
47:26Yeah. I wonder if it's disaster, like a month in, is there some changes made there?
47:30If it just falls apart, I think they're going to find ways to use him, but it's, I don't think it's going
47:36to be anything like the second half of his rookie.
47:39But I don't think disaster takes shape in the form of like a bad Jaguars offense.
47:43I think it's more of like discontent. Oh, that's what I mean.
47:47Yeah. Like he's just not getting the ball. Yeah.
47:49That's exactly what I mean. He has whatever, you know, I have no idea.
47:53It's week four. And Brian Thomas jr. Has through three games, six catches.
47:56And exactly. What about me? Right. It's so weird that two years ago we thought Brian Thomas jr.
48:01And Travis Hunter, we're going to be leading this wide receiving core.
48:05Maybe they will, but that's not what I'm about right now.
48:08Here's, here's the play here. You're ready. Cause by the way, I took Jordan Tyson with my next pick.
48:13I like that. I was looking at him. We're just sitting there and we're just thinking upside.
48:17That was round nine. He of course has been awesome for the saints in camp.
48:21You'd expect that for the eighth overall pick teams that need a quarterback next year.
48:26Yep. There are lots of them. There always are.
48:28Mike, Mac Jones will be a free agent after this year.
48:31You will. I would guess Mac wants to start again.
48:34Not going to happen most likely in San Francisco because Brock Purdy, whoever signs Mac Jones concurrently at the same time, negotiates a trade for Brian Thomas jr.
48:41Okay. Smart. You don't have a choice, right? Yes.
48:44You have to. You have to. Yeah. Their connection when he was out there was undeniable.
48:48I think is the word that people would use.
48:51He was wide receiver three as a rookie. Like overall, not a wide receiver three.
48:55All right. I just put a battery together here.
48:57We got Alec Pierce to go with Daniel Jones.
48:59I'm a little surprised. I didn't think I would have a lot of Pierce exposure this year, but he's my wide receiver
49:0531 and he's the last player now in my starting lineup.
49:08It's all because he had surgery in March and it's a four to six month timeline.
49:13We have not seen anything from Alec Pierce so far this training camp.
49:16What an interesting off season for the Colts. It feels like a total fork in the road off season.
49:21These guys either hit and this team competes like it did at the beginning of last season or it all comes crashing
49:27down and they finish third or fourth in the division and it's a total blow up after this year.
49:33Got, um, I got to turn my phone off.
49:35Sorry about that. It's my mom calling. It is.
49:38Doesn't realize the show is still going. All right.
49:40Uh, I think I want a third. I'm back up on the clock.
49:43So I need, uh, I think I'm on a third running back.
49:47I have four receivers, quarterback tight end. My lineup's filled out, but I wasn't in depth here behind Taylor and you got a full starting lineup.
49:54I am full of Colts, by the way. I need them.
49:57If they play like they did early last season for the whole year and as long as Jones was healthy, they were great.
50:03I'm going to be in a good spot. Alec Pierce.
50:06So I'm going to take the Steelers leading rusher.
50:08Most likely Rico Dowdle. What do you make of that one there?
50:11I think he, I think he's the lead rusher.
50:14I think Jalen Warren more in passing situations where he should have been a couple of years ago.
50:19Uh, my main concern is with them is a passing game upside because I know it's easy to say Aaron Rogers is
50:25like now a check down artist, but you think about the guys going to the last couple of years.
50:30He didn't really have a lot of depth at the wide, the wide receiver position and pass catcher position.
50:35And, uh, obviously in Arthur Smith offense last year, uh, but Mike McCarthy's history is like as bad as it gets for
50:41running backs at fantasy points wise and targets wise.
50:44So I think you're going to be a little disappointed by the target volume for running back.
50:48So that's my concern. But Rico Dowdle think he's the lead rusher could push for a thousand yards if he's healthy on
50:54the ground and just enough passing game involvement to pay this off.
50:57All right. We've reached the point of the draft now it's round 10 where like, I feel pretty good about stuffing my
51:03roster with upside and there's not a ton of players right now that scream upside.
51:07So I am going to grab my third running back.
51:10If Brian Thomas jr. Was on the board, he just came off the board.
51:14Would he have fit that bucket or would that have been not a little nervous?
51:18I mean, there's still, there's still our upside players.
51:20That's all right. The golden Michael Wilson. I'm going to take Chuba Hubbard here.
51:24Um, I'm not, I don't think Chuba Hubbard's a league winner.
51:27I'm not like going out of my way to draft Chuba Hubbard.
51:31I'm slow rolling the Jonathan Brooks. Yeah. And he's still available by the way.
51:34So you're going Hubbard over Brooks, which is not a controversial take.
51:38I think he's their ADPs have like, yes, they've narrowed farts way too close.
51:41I think that Jonathan Brooks, I think a successful season for him would be staying available for 17 games and having a role.
51:48I think that's completely fair. I also think it's possible.
51:50He is electric in week one and just takes the job.
51:53I mean, Chuba Hubbard has probably the least grip on a starting job in the NFL because of what happened last year.
51:59He lost the job. I know. I know. I think that might've been like kind of the perfect storm for Rico.
52:05Maybe. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe. I think Chuba, he ended up winning that job back.
52:09I know this is one of people's least favorite things in fantasy, but there are just certain running backs.
52:14I think of Armandre Stevenson in this vein. Yeah.
52:16And I think the Chuba Hubbard's in this vein as well, where it's like, they have very few traits that would grade
52:22as like a 10 on a one to 10 scale, but they got a ton of traits that rate no lower than
52:28a six and no higher than an eight. Chuba just does a lot of things really well.
52:33The coaches are going to love having him around.
52:35Yeah. You know, he's not really a lead at anything.
52:38Also feels like running back dead zone too. So I don't know.
52:41It is a tough one. That would be the anti Kenneth Walker, the third case, by the way, is that I think
52:47the reason why Kenneth Walker, the third duty so much was that I think the Seahawks got fatigued at times by the
52:53fact that like, just do the thing that we tell you to do rather than trying to make something out of nothing.
52:59Yeah. But then I think about like, what was it?
53:02Kareem Hunt is a rookie. His first carry fumbled and he just like was featured the whole seat.
53:07I mean, I think Andy Reid will just, my point is though, is Andy Reid, even if he messes up, we'll just keep giving it to him.
53:14And they don't have anyone else to give it to.
53:17They don't have a choice. Like the Chiefs are cool.
53:20They have signed up for the good and the bad.
53:22I just think the reason why we got so annoyed by the backfield in Seattle was that, hey, like I've made this
53:28analogy a few times, but it was like, if you have an opportunity and there's enough blocking to get four yards, we're okay with second and six.
53:36But if you instead try to bounce it outside and lose a yard in the process, second and 11 is a hard
53:42down for us to call plays from. Totally fair.
53:44My computer just told me it's going to restart at some point.
53:47It usually just does it whenever it won. So I'll draft as long as I can.
53:52You got to see what happens. Don't worry. You got to auto draft.
53:55Do you guys remember the last time we talked about a Chiefs running back and we were so excited about CEH.
54:01And then that very first game, he got stuffed at the goal line like five times in a row, back to back to back to back.
54:08And all of us, it kind of like was the, a lot of the air was let out of the balloon in that like one moment.
54:15And then it never like rebounded really from there.
54:18I liked him as a prospect. I thought the Chiefs draft often drafted those highly efficient, maybe not at the tier one
54:24college running backs who were just hyper efficient. Yep.
54:26And he was one of those guys that I thought he was the real deal.
54:30He looked like it initially won the job, looked like it was a home run.
54:34Was in a great offense, right? Yeah. He's still hanging around.
54:37Where is he? He just signed. I think he just had a tryout.
54:41Tryout. Right. Yeah. I don't know if he signed.
54:43Yeah. We're in a round 11 guys. I'm going to give you a quick rundown of my lineup so far.
54:49Here's what I've got. Drake may at the quarterback spot.
54:51My OP and other QB is going to be Baker Mayfield.
54:54My running backs, James Cook, Omarion Hampton, Jadarian Price.
54:57My wide receivers are JMO, DK Metcalf, Marvin Harrison Jr.
54:59and Michael Wilson. I took both of the Cardinals wide receivers plus Chris Godwin Jr.
55:03And my tight end is Colston Loveland. Wide receiver is going to be a tough one.
55:08I'm going to continue to hammer on that, but I love the rest of this roster.
55:12I think I got three starting running backs. I got two really great quarterbacks and I love my tight end.
55:18I don't regret anything guys. Okay. Well, that's, that's, I would disagree with that assessment, but to each their own.
55:23Why don't you give me your lineup then? Two Cardinals receivers.
55:26Fancy pants. Fancy pants. My lineup is as follows.
55:28Patrick Mahomes is my quarterback one with B. John Robinson, Kenneth Walker, the third.
55:32So good. Justin Jefferson, Ladd McConkie, Terry McLaurin, Jordan Tyson as my four wide outs and flexes.
55:37Okay. Kyle Pitts Sr. is my tight end. Feel really good about him.
55:40Jordan Love. And then on my bench, I started with a steady Eddie and Chuba Hubbard.
55:45And then I took a swing on Denzel Boston, who I could have definitely gotten much later than that.
55:50Nice. Nice. But he's been the star of the Browns training camp.
55:53Sounds like he's the guy that looks like the player that should have gone in the first round amongst wide receivers.
55:59And I had him 23rd overall. My final is the 23rd or 24th of my big board.
56:04I like the player a lot. I get what his limitations are.
56:07He's a big kid, right? I am concerned. He's a big guy.
56:10He's not a great runner. And that may be once the pads come on, it may be the Denzel Boston.
56:15The pads are on, but the pads come on and you're facing off against real competition.
56:20That may be where the rubber meets the road.
56:22But I thought the player was good enough to go in the first round.
56:26If he had gone in the first round, I think we'd be talking about him for fantasy a little bit different, even
56:32in what is objectively a bad situation. Okay. Substandard quarterback play.
56:35We don't even know who the starting quarterback is going to be in Cleveland.
56:39Yep. A lot of concerns about that team being near the bottom this year.
56:43I like Denzel Boston. Yeah, there was clearly the best wide receiver.
56:46I'm not even sure there's another wide receiver in that offense.
56:49I would even consider drafting. Yeah, who would do that?
56:52Maybe the guy drafted before him this year in the first round.
56:55How about that guy? Casey Concepcion. And well, yeah, he may be, but he's on my bench.
56:59Like this is an upside play with the hope that at some point this season he becomes usable.
57:04And again, we have two receivers and double flex.
57:07So if I can get flex production out of him at this point in the draft and right before that, I took Debo Samuel as well.
57:14So more of a higher floor play. So yeah, these are adept upside plays at this point.
57:18I'm going to take a swing on a running back here as I'm on the clock that we talked about the offense in a different way.
57:26I haven't quite figured out what to make of this Jaguars backfield.
57:29Basial Tootin was a fourth round pick last year who 4-3-3 speed coming out of college.
57:33Didn't see a ton of big plays last year from Basial Tootin in his sample size.
57:38Let me get the exact number here from Tootin.
57:40Yeah, he was a weird one. Like some efficiency stats, he was outstanding.
57:43Others, it was concerning. I mean, he averaged 3.7 yards for catching a long yarn of 15 yards.
57:48Yeah, he's like, yeah, this is like the big play waiting to happen.
57:52And then you go back and you're like, oh wait, he had zero runs longer than 15 yards.
57:57And his average was 3.7 yards. And there were games, he had several games where he was averaging 2.5 yards or fewer per carry.
58:03Yeah, I just think that, I know they gave Chris Rodriguez a couple bucks, but the guy has been around for quite a while.
58:10I mean, he was in Washington through all this, but he was a guy that was like a healthy scratch or cutting,
58:16you know, brought back on the practice squad. Like, I don't know, and guys get better.
58:20I get that. But this is a, essentially a journeyman now.
58:23And I don't think that you build your running back room this way.
58:27If Tootin's not getting the long opportunity here as the lead back.
58:30And not to mention, by the way, Chris Rodriguez, a zero in the passing game throughout his career.
58:35So I just here. Okay. One, 11th round. So, you know, at some point you got to take guys.
58:40He might square eight touchdowns in this offense. So I don't hate that part of it.
58:44I would normally discount or take what you said and totally agree with you.
58:48The only reason why it's intriguing to me is that it's his former college coach who did this.
58:53It's like the only person in the world who has this level of affection for Chris Rodriguez is probably Liam Cohen, right?
58:59Three seasons in the NFL for Chris Rodriguez. He has 198 carries, 4.6 yards per carry average.
59:04Like, you're right, Mike. He's pretty journeyman-y. But Liam Cohen and him have a history that I think makes this a little
59:10bit unique relative to a typical stature, typical signing of the stature.
59:13He's one of those guys I feel like even if he's the lead back, you're just going to be like, ah, I don't want to start him.
59:20Like, it's just boring. In the 11th round, what are you going to do, right?
59:24Like, he might have 14 carries for 60 yards, maybe scores a touchdown and has one catch for eight yards.
59:30And you're just like, man, like, yeah, he's rosterable.
59:32But the ceiling's so low. I just don't. I don't.
59:35Jordan Mason-ish, you know? Like, it's kind of like that.
59:38You can be an efficient runner. I remember last year, I think it was like week six or something.
59:43You brought up a question, but it was like, yeah, like Aaron Jones is still out.
59:47But like, are you ever going to start Jordan Mason again this season?
59:51Even if he's on your team? Like, it just wasn't there.
59:54The bit of attraction wasn't there. It feels very similar.
59:56And so I'm not like wildly high on tune because you're also going to use LaQuint Allen.
60:01Remember, he's a specialist in passing situations. I think all three guys play, but the guy with the highest ceiling is definitely tuned.
60:07So he's the guy I would want to invest with.
60:10For whatever it's worth, I'm going to give you the top five players in yards after contact per rush last season.
60:16Tristan Cockroft! Sorry, guys. I didn't mean to do that outburst.
60:19It's okay. I think you did. Here are the top five players in the yards after contact per rush last season.
60:24Michael Stacca here. God. B. John Robinson, Derrick Henry, Devon A.
60:27Chan, Ramondre Stevenson, and Chris Rodriguez. What? Sample size analysis.
60:30Jonathan Taylor is sixth. You know, don't you sample size me.
60:33I will sample size you with Luther Burden, and I'll sample size you with Chris Rodriguez.
60:37Something there. And whenever else it's convenient for my argument.
60:40I've got two guys that I'm really hoping make it to me.
60:43So don't stare at my cue, Daniel, because it's J.J.
60:46McCarthy. Stop it. Oh, you wanted Jaden Higgins. That's what you wanted.
60:49I wanted Jaden Higgins. Yes. Got it. Okay. I wanted Jaden Higgins.
60:53I wanted the number two. That was a Liz Loza special.
60:56She had talked me into it. I'm a little bit more out on Nico Collins just because I'm nervous about some of the things in that offense.
61:03We've talked about it. Yeah, me too. But, you know, he's got those long legs.
61:07Those long legs, sometimes susceptible to some hamstrings, some lower body injuries.
61:10By the way, we're going over the hour mark today.
61:13We're going to finish this mock draft up because we love you, the people.
61:17Mike was like, do we really have to do it?
61:19And we were like, Mike, you've been on vacation for the past seven months.
61:23You've been here for a whole day. Yes, we do.
61:26We're going to the beach after this. Let's wrap it up.
61:29Be nice. Or I'm going home to do chores and laundry because I've been gone for a week.
61:34A week's full of laundry. One of my targets just got taken.
61:37Rashid Jaheed. Nice pick right there. Just put him in my queue.
61:40Just because I want to make Mike mad. I'm taking a defense in round 13.
61:44You're taking a defense before it's time to take a defense?
61:47Yeah, I am. You know why? Are you kicking that can down the road this year?
61:52I would say general. Without question in a 10-team league, I'm kicking that can down the road.
61:56Let me tell you something. I have been on the wrong side of a streaming defense situation in a 16-team league.
62:02It's maddening. Yeah. It is maddening week in and week out.
62:05So there is something to be said for having a defense and not having to worry about whether you're going to play that defense or not.
62:12Definitely. I'm not going to drop it because of a tough opponent.
62:15So in a 12-team league with deeper rosters, I mostly did it for the content.
62:19And Mike had no reaction. No, my reaction is, are you starting them in week one?
62:24How high are you right now on the Texans' defense?
62:27I'm so high. Yes, I'm starting them against the Bills in week one.
62:30You're starting them against Josh Allen in week one.
62:33You cannot. If you draft the Texans, you have to.
62:35By the way, what did they do against the Bills in Josh Allen last year?
62:39I'll stream in week one and have a better performance.
62:42What did they do against the Bills last year?
62:44You would bench the Texans. I guarantee you, you will not have the Texans as a benchable defense in week one.
62:50No, I'm not saying you have to bench them.
62:53I'm saying that I'm just not going to do that.
62:55I would rather take all these upside guys on the board right now.
62:59Like I just took, after you did that, I took Kenyon Sadiq, who...
63:02Is he going to play this year? I would imagine.
63:05Just for the record, Josh Allen against the Texans last year.
63:08253 passing yards. Two interceptions, no touchdowns, eight sacks taken.
63:11Wow. He rushed for 20 yards total in that game.
63:14Wow. That's a pretty good defense. It is. Yeah.
63:16All right, where are we at in the draft right now, guys?
63:19Let's quickly recap here. We are in the 14th round.
63:22That's all right. No one cares what you're doing anyways.
63:2514th round, and it is really sparse. It's really sparse.
63:27Yeah. I was looking at Tua. So I know Mike is our resident.
63:31He plays in a lot of four-person leagues, and I'm right now wishing...
63:34I'm crushing those. Pulsifer! Yeah. Keaton Mitchell comes off the board.
63:37We've been talking him up this offseason. We have.
63:40All right. This is one of my favorite picks.
63:42One of my favorite late-round flyers. This is like...
63:45I wouldn't say it's like the most upside-y play, but it just feels like it's too cheap.
63:49So we've talked about... I've talked about this before.
63:52Jerry Judy. Jerry Judy, your guy. Yeah. I mean, we've talked...
63:55I have Concepcion, too. You took Boston. Oh, that's smart.
63:58You take two wide receivers from that Browns offense.
64:00Judy's been a top 25 fantasy receiver two of the last three years.
64:04What about last year? Yeah, that was the exception.
64:06Two of the last four years. So, seven catches two years ago.
64:09I mean, he's a good player. 27 years old.
64:12Before I make my pick, probably other defense. Yeah, Bowen.
64:14What do you do? There's very few good options left.
64:17Before we get into... I'm going to take a wider receiver here in a moment.
64:21Do it. Dontavian Wicks is my pick. A lot of positive buzz out of Philly on Dontavian Wicks.
64:26He goes, pick 150-something to me. 160-something to me.
64:29Mike, I want to ask you about... Use this opportunity to ask you about Keaton Mitchell and Amari in Hampton.
64:34Daniel Aldo up at five. I'm less optimistic. I have him as like, are we 12?
64:38I think Keaton Mitchell's a factor. Do you? Yes or no?
64:41I think that they're going to find ways to get the ball in his hand.
64:45I just don't think it's going to be enough for him to be fantasy relevant.
64:49And I think that if O'Marian Hampton is injured, it's not just going to be the Keaton Mitchell show.
64:55I just think he's a small player and he has a...
64:58You're selling what we're buying. Okay. Yeah. And I think the comparison you've seen a lot is like the A-Chan Mostert ear and McDaniel offense.
65:04I mean, that is the extreme. I mean, it's hard to really count on that.
65:08So, maybe everything goes right. Mitchell's healthy and explosive and he ends up as flex worthy.
65:13I just think it's a long shot. Hampton was a first round pick for a reason.
65:17I believe in that talent. I think this is his year.
65:20I'm just... What do you have him ranked? Hampton?
65:23I have Hampton... Good question. Like 7-8? Yeah. Right in that range.
65:26Sometimes I can't remember the exact number, Daniel. But it just wasn't...
65:29I want to make sure it wasn't like outside the top 10.
65:32You have him as an RB1. That tier is very close for sure.
65:36I mean, if you see the projections, you know that.
65:39But I'm at 9. 9? So, Cook, Love, Gentty, Hampton.
65:41And then we go to Barkley, Henry, Chase Brown, Walker.
65:44I mean, those guys. The projections go from James Cook, 279, to Brees Hall, 273.
65:48That goes from 6th to 15th in my rankings.
65:515 points. So, I mean, that is a tight, tight area.
65:54And you can honestly go... You can sort those guys however you want.
65:57If you want Barkley at the top there, if you want Hampton at the top there, Jeremiah Love, who, again, I'm going
66:03to talk a lot about him over the next month.
66:06One of my favorite targets. Didn't miss out on him here, but love him a lot as well.
66:11So, just a lot of running back talent in that range.
66:14Really high on Love, Mike is. I'm not as high on Love.
66:17I'm so high on Love. Not that. Hmm. Interesting.
66:19I don't like any of these guys. This is the part of a 12-team, 18-roster draft.
66:24You're starting to get into the nitty-gritty here. I don't like anyone.
66:27I love it because my player that's in the queue right now is so low in the overall rankings that I probably
66:33don't even need to take him with my next selection.
66:36You say that, but then Tristan H. Cockroft will snipe you if you don't.
66:39You want to Braylon Allen? No. Oh, okay. Just general strategy here late, though, is we all work very hard.
66:45Mike, most especially, works incredibly hard in the projections.
66:47And this is sorted by projected fantasy points. So obviously, a quarterback that's got a real chance to start, yeah, sort of,
66:53is going to be projected much higher than a flyer wide receiver.
66:57But to me, these last few rounds are just going through and combing through and finding the players that you like the
67:03most, even if they're 50 spots from the top of the rankings.
67:06No doubt. If you like that player more than the other wide receivers, that is not necessarily a you problem.
67:11It might be that these guys are all kind of comparably inspiring or sometimes uninspiring.
67:15So don't worry too much about where your player is ranked in the projections at this point of the draft.
67:21I cannot believe that there's a player still on the board with a 43-point game on his card.
67:26Oh, I know who you're talking about. You just took him, right?
67:29I did not. No. Good trivia. Oh, with Juwan Jennings?
67:32Oh, no, there's a second. Okay, there's a second player on the board.
67:35He had 45 in a game, didn't he? Juwan did, yes.
67:38Yeah. Yes. A player with 43 points on his ledger.
67:41Yes. Daniel, I cannot guess who that is. Is it like Kaimi Fairbairn or something?
67:45It is not. I can't look at the wide receivers anymore, but I believe is Trey Tucker not still available?
67:50Trey Tucker is still available. Did he not drop a 40-point game last year?
67:54Wow, that's right. Kevin Pulsifer nailed that one on FF Now in a trivia question last year.
67:59That's right. To try to really piss Mike off, I just took Brandon Aubrey.
68:03Yes. Oh. Liz Lewis took Greg Dolchich. Liz is in on Greg Dolchich from this Miami offense.
68:07He is. I tell you, I'm just trying to get some sort of reaction out of Mike.
68:12He is clearly tired. He's very tired, and he's locked in on a draft.
68:16He doesn't mess around with drafts. He's nonplussed on me taking the Texans defense and Brandon Aubrey.
68:20He's dehydrated. Look, sometimes people do things, and you're like, all right, I can see why you would do that, and you're just like, I understand it.
68:28And other times people make a move, just like one move, and you're just like, now I know I can never trust them.
68:34Yes. So Fields kind of made his bed today, and now I know what the next six months are going to be like.
68:40I lost Mike's trust. It's over. I don't know what that was.
68:43Y'all hear that? Yes, I think that was the Undertaker bell.
68:46You're coming for him. He's coming to throw a field at him.
68:50Ooh, I like that pick by, you know what?
68:52I like this pick here by Cam Wolfe. Jacoby Lane.
68:55Oh, you know what? He was in my queue.
68:57But I took... You took Terrence Ferguson, and that hat Paul's mad.
69:00Hopping mad. Yeah. Ferguson's been generating some buzz in training camp, but Jacoby Lane has been generating some serious buzz.
69:06How do we know Pulse is mad? Is it...
69:08He texted me. Oh, he's texting. Oh, I'm not in that.
69:11I'm not in that. No, it's a different group chat.
69:14It's a different group chat, Mike. Yeah, another tight end at this point.
69:18It's called the low group chat. So low. Oof.
69:20It hurts. Sorry. Oh, Michael. I'm glad to have you back.
69:23Mike, you just took Deshaun Watson? I did. So, you know, anytime you could put batteries together for your super flexion...
69:29What's a battery? That's the second time you've said that.
69:31Battery means like a group. You mean stacks? It's a baseball term, like the pitcher and the catcher.
69:36Okay, we're doing football. So why would you say it?
69:39Because it applies. They're called stacks. Because I'm cool.
69:41Because I'm cool and savvy. Stop trying to make battery happen.
69:44No, battery is a thing that I'm doing. Okay.
69:47Okay. I'm doing it. You're trying to make batteries happen.
69:50All right. There's the bell again. Brown... I went batteries of the Browns and the Colts.
69:54Because anytime you want to win in fantasy... No, in fairness, the Colts was awesome last year.
69:59But yeah, I have Watson. My QB3. Just a late flyer.
70:02You know, I'm happy with my one-two punch of quarterback.
70:04And then Concepcion and Judy. So a one-two-three punch there.
70:07And same with the Colts. Week 17 in Cleveland.
70:09Championship week. Colts and Browns. Mike's fate will be decided.
70:12All comes down to that. How great would that be?
70:15I mean, if this was like... Thursday night football.
70:17If this was a basketball team... Do they actually play each other?
70:21They do, yes. Week 17. So if this was a best...
70:24This might be like a best ball strategy. Just if those defenses are a mess, you just light it up.
70:29That's a different... Yeah. Everything's on the line that week.
70:32And it's 47-45. And you win a million bucks.
70:34Best ball strategy is just a different vibe. We're going to go camping at some points during the preseason.
70:39We'll kind of give you what we've heard around preseason.
70:42And one of the names that's been generating some buzz...
70:45Kayshawn Booty. Who still is a Patriot, by the way.
70:47That's true. Which maybe that sorts itself out. Kayshawn Booty...
70:50If he gets traded, there's some upside there. So I took him with my 16th overall...
70:5516th round pick. I like it. Yeah. He's talented, man.
70:57Very talented. Indy, I feel like, needs a receiver.
71:00Especially if... I feel like... I feel like... I feel like...
71:03...I feel like... ...I feel like... ...I feel like...
71:05...I feel like we're going to roll out Ashton Doolin or Nick Westbrook.
71:09Two Nick Westbrook references in the show. So... Remember when Nick Westbrook and Kine broke your brain for like two months?
71:14I noticed I didn't... I left that part off.
71:17I still can't do it. It's like... It's preseason, guys.
71:20Six touchdowns in eight weeks or something like that.
71:22It was unbelievable. Yeah. Those touchdown guys... That was fun.
71:25I love watching your brain explode when people break it like that.
71:28Yeah. I don't care for it. Okay. I know.
71:30I know. Just follow my rankings, guys. Just score exactly in the order I put you in.
71:35I took a kicker here. I'm in the... We're in the 17th round now, our friends.
71:39By the way, this draft, in case you are like, I am done listening to you, Yahoo's, but you do want to check out the rest of it.
71:47You can go on to ESPN.com. The entirety of the draft will be available on the website as well.
71:52So go check that out. Can I ask you guys a question?
71:55It's not really related to fantasy football, but it's round 17.
71:58I'll allow it. I've been getting, and I just got an email saying it's about to be delivered, these packages from various states around the country.
72:05It's like tourism packages where they send you pamphlets.
72:08Yeah. I had set that up. We were trying to get you to take some trips.
72:12Oh, yeah. I set that up. Yeah. I'm telling you, I now know more about Idaho than ever.
72:17Potatoes. There's so much more. I love the potatoes.
72:20Idaho, Oregon, Vermont. It seems to be like a lot of like the nature-based states have been sending me these pamphlets.
72:25I'm telling you, I've gotten mail from like 10 separate states in the last week.
72:29I may have signed field up for some stuff.
72:32I love that. Did I like press a button on some email subscription list that generated snail mail?
72:37I don't know. You guys are looking at me like you have no idea what I'm talking about.
72:42No, I had to make a pick. It was a visit board at the airport yesterday because I had a 10-hour delay.
72:48So I was just signing a field up for stuff.
72:50Oh, man. So good. Eric Moody goes with Marshawn Lloyd.
72:53I mean, that's the part of the draft that we're at right now.
72:56Yeah. But you're looking for those dart throws that maybe they give you a few weeks of usefulness.
73:01Future Colts wide receiver too, Keenan Allen. That's a good one.
73:04That's who I just took. Like that Hollywood Brown going in this.
73:08Hollywood Brown in that range. He'll have a week in which you won't know when to start him, but it'll happen.
73:13Right. So. Have a good headline the day after in the Philadelphia Inquirer.
73:17That's exactly right. Hollywood hits or something? Something like that.
73:20That's exactly what would happen. Mike, how you feel about your team?
73:23Why don't we take a quick look? Right. We're almost done.
73:26We got one round left. Yeah. Let's start on your side.
73:29If you go, well, I feel I feel great.
73:31I feel like I have an opportunity here. You're almost cam.
73:34If Cam Wolf doesn't mess this up, I could get another Brown here.
73:38You're about to have two picks. So once we get done, once we get done with your second pick, we'll go through everyone's lineup from there on out.
73:45He took the charger. So he did me a solid thank you, Cam Wolf.
73:49I'll take another Brown. Brown defense. The best of the Browns.
73:52He really meant it. Mike meant it. He wanted to take another Cleveland Brown.
73:56Go Browns. Mike, your Browns battery is going to get drained by the Jack.
74:00It so is. Per Kevin Pulsifer. I've never heard that before.
74:03Am I behind? A battery. So like wrestling batteries.
74:05Sometimes you hear about it in wrestling. I wouldn't know that.
74:08No, I don't know that one. Get with the program, will you?
74:11Yeah. Interesting. All right. Last pick. Yeah. I just know from baseball.
74:15It's an old baseball term, but you're right. I should be.
74:18I should stay updated now that I'm a best ball veteran.
74:21But you mean the stacks. Yeah. Batteries you're saying is equivalent.
74:24Yeah. I just think about it the same, like the quarterback to the pass catcher.
74:28That's a battery. A battery. It's like a pit, like the pitcher to the catcher.
74:32Like the energy to the, from one end to the other.
74:35Just when I was a kid, it was a term.
74:38And when you were a kid, you were just like, I love batteries.
74:41So I'm going to throw them at FD Drew.
74:44So no, I didn't. Dude. I was too young for that.
74:46But I am a, I am a 700. I'm a 700 level veteran.
74:50Let's go through my slide up. All right. Let's do it.
74:53Good podcast. Starting lineup. Matthew Stafford and Daniel Jones are my two quarterbacks.
74:57Jonathan Taylor and Quinchan Judkins. It should be a lot of rushing volume right there.
75:01JSN, Roma Dunze, Carnell Tate, Alec Pierce are the wide receivers.
75:04And of course, Trey McBride at tight end. Like that.
75:06I feel good about that lineup, especially if Alec Pierce is healthy.
75:10And then Ben Trico Dowdle. Debo Samuel on the way up after the recent signing.
75:14A couple of Browns here. Casey Concepcion, Jerry Judy, and then some upside here with Kenyon Sadiq, the tight end.
75:19And Terrence Ferguson. I took two upside tight ends to go along with McBride.
75:23Could be trade bait at some point during the season.
75:26And Deshaun Watson is my QB3. I love this.
75:28Just as an example, in a deeper league, Mike, even though you took one of, if not the best tight ends in
75:34fantasy football, you still use two later on picks because why force it at another position if you don't like it?
75:40Take the best value that's available there in one of those tight ends.
75:43Terrence Ferguson is such an intriguing player for me this year.
75:46He's one of the guys I think we'll talk about when we're talking about like guys that have kind of finish all
75:52over the map because they do have five tight ends.
75:55I mean, they're going heavy this year. They'll probably find a way to play them all at the same time.
76:00Yes. But they don't have really a third receiver.
76:03I'll do respect to Kanata Mumfield who won me our challenge last year.
76:06Our Raheem Sanders challenge. That's coming. Yeah, that's coming back for sure.
76:10But yeah, I mean, he could be number three in line.
76:13And what happens if there's an injury? Puka Nakua has missed time.
76:16Devontae Adams is 33. He could be Matthew Stafford's number two target for a chunk of this season.
76:21If one of those at any given point, one of those guys misses time.
76:25So Ferguson, where he's going in drafts, it's basically free.
76:27Just throw a lottery ticket and see what happens there because there's a lot to like.
76:32I like it. Field, let's look at your team.
76:34By the way, Puka Nakua, another guy who the NFL has been investigating.
76:38Oh, good call. Yes, you're right. Keep that in mind for Rams wide receiver depth.
76:42My team. Here we go. Ready to rock and roll.
76:44Patrick Mahomes, B. John Robinson, Kenneth Walker III, Justin Jefferson, Ladd McConkie, Kyle Pitts, Terry McLaurin, Jordan Tyson, Jordan Love, double Jordan there.
76:51Benches, Chuba Hubbard and Denzel Boston, Chris Rodriguez, Dontavian Wicks, Kayshawn Booty, Keenan Allen, and then a last round flyer on A.J.
76:57Barner. Yeah. The guy's really talented. He's awesome in the Super Bowl as well.
77:00For what it's worth, the history, the origins of the term battery was coined by Henry Chadwick.
77:05Naturally. In the 1860s, in reference to the firepower of a team's pitching staff and inspired by the artillery batteries then in use in the American Civil War.
77:13Later, the term evolved to indicate the combined effectiveness of pitcher and catcher.
77:16There you go. Wow. Yeah. Lesson learned for Daniel.
77:19He learned something today. Yeah, that's super cool. Well, just a reminder.
77:22It's a football podcast, so tomorrow I'll just bring those ones.
77:25Okay? No, I'm not going to do that. I do want to say this, though.
77:29Did you ever see, like, there's a player? Let's just move on.
77:32Well, no, I'm not moving. We're going back, because Field was talking about his team before he rudely interrupted himself.
77:38Rubens racing. But I'm here for that. But, like, you see a guy's name, like a player comes in the league, and
77:44their name are just like, this guy, the name's too good to fail.
77:47Like, Jordan Tyson with Y's in both names, like, that's such a sharp name, right?
77:51That is a sharp name. The dude is a guaranteed superstar just on that alone.
77:55That name is almost as smooth as my lineup.
77:58Let's take a look at the roster I've put together.
78:00From the three spot in this league, I got Drake May, James Cook, Omari and Hampton, Jamison Williams, DK Metcalf, Colston Loveland,
78:06Jadarian Price, both of these Cardinals wide receivers in Marvin Harrison Jr.
78:10and Michael Wilson, plus Baker Mayfield as my super flex.
78:12I've also got Chris Godwin, Jalen Coker, Isaiah Likely, Dejan Stribling, Juwan Jennings, and Chig Okonkwo rounding out the lineup.
78:18All right, so I took two, like, upside tight ends on my bench.
78:21You just took two, like, guys you're going to drop, I see.
78:25Isaiah Likely, I have as a... You might not drop him.
78:28Yeah. Okonkwo, that'll be a quick drop, I bet.
78:30We'll see. I like the Stribling pick. Thank you.
78:33Someone's got to catch passes there in San Francisco.
78:35But you missed Jacoby Berset, did he get picked?
78:37I think he probably did, but... He probably did.
78:40You missed out on a battery there, yeah. Yes.
78:42Hey, this wasn't a bad first day back, Mike Clay.
78:45Oh, yeah, what's the grade? Like, your draft grade, we know it's going to be an F here, so what's your grade of the...
78:52I would say, like, a high C. High C?
78:54I could go for a high C right now, get some sugar, get this day going.
78:58That's going to do it for us. What's the bell?
79:01Is that, like, a bad joke bell? I think it's like, keep moving, please.
79:05It's a bad joke bell. I'm going to go sleep, guys.
79:08Thank you for hanging out with us. We're going to be back tomorrow.
79:11Tomorrow, me, Mike, and Field is going to be a blast.
79:14You know what we're talking about? I'm projected to finish first in that league.
79:18Second! Dang it! Well, at least Mike didn't get the best draft.
79:21We love you guys. Don't forget to love each other and be kind to yourself.
79:25You deserve it. We'll see you guys tomorrow. Alrighty.
