Bijan Robinson

PositiveUsage4:18

Bijan Robinson has a high floor and elite upside, averaging 20 points per game when reaching 15 touches. While Tyler Allgeier previously stole goal-line work (11 to 10 inside the five-yard line), Robinson's receiving role grew significantly, finishing with 4.6 receptions per game in the final four weeks. He is a strong candidate to finish as the overall RB1 if he secures a full bell-cow role.

Insight page

Breece Hall

PositiveProjection42:00

Breece Hall is poised for a breakout season as a bell-cow back. The Jets' commitment to him, improved offensive line, and better quarterback play from Geno Smith suggest he will significantly outperform his five-touchdown total from last year. He is a priority target in the third round.

Insight page

Bucky Irving

PositiveUsage62:47

Bucky Irving has a wide range of outcomes but is an attractive target behind a top-tier offensive line. While Sean Tucker's guaranteed contract suggests he will have a role, Irving is the preferred back for non-goal-line work. If Irving secures the goal-line role, he has 'home run' potential; otherwise, he is projected as a low-end RB2.

Insight page

Cam Akers

NegativeRole53:22

Cam Akers faces a crowded four-person backfield in New York, making his outlook volatile. While he remains the primary goal-line back and a pass-catcher, the addition of Najee Harris creates a potential thorn in his side. He is a risky pick who needs to prove he is the clear lead back to reach his RB10 ceiling.

Insight page

Chase Brown

PositiveRole38:36

Chase Brown benefits from an elite environment, having played 74% of red zone snaps last year and returning to an offensive line that is improving. While his reception total may dip due to the team shifting to more under-center formations, his floor is exceptional, and he is a strong target in the middle of round two.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

NegativeBust10:52

Christian McCaffrey carries significant risk due to a 450-touch workload last season and age (30), with historical data suggesting a potential performance cliff. Efficiency metrics like yards per carry and success rate were poor last year, though his receiving volume and high-value touches keep his floor extremely high. He remains a top-tier asset if he stays healthy for 17 games.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

PositiveBreakout50:58

DeAndre Swift is a premier target in the fourth round. If teammate Khalil Herbert misses time due to injury, Swift has top-12 RB potential. His efficiency (sixth in 10+ yard run rate) and the Bears' high-scoring offense make him an ideal pick to pair with early-round wide receivers.

Insight page

David Montgomery

NegativeValue60:41

David Montgomery is viewed as a 'dead zone' running back profile reliant on volume rather than efficiency. Analysts are under market on him, citing his age, lack of bell-cow efficiency, and the emergence of Woody Marks as a pass-catching threat. Concerns persist regarding a reconstructed, potentially weak offensive line.

Insight page

De'Von Achane

PositiveUsage33:29

Despite concerns about a potentially worse Dolphins offense, Achan remains a top-tier fantasy asset due to his elite usage and role as the team's best playmaker. He is expected to continue receiving manufactured touches, and there is a realistic path for him to lead the league in touches per game if he stays healthy.

Insight page

Jadarian Price

PositiveBreakout57:48

Jadarian Price is a high-upside target with Zach Charbonnet expected to miss significant time following February surgery. Price is projected to handle goal-line duties, a role that saw Charbonnet score 11 touchdowns on 50 red-zone carries last year. Betting markets have his rushing touchdown prop at 5.5, which the analysts view as too low.

Insight page

James Cook

NegativeProjection26:42

James Cook is a high-floor RB7, though his upside may be capped by a potentially more pass-heavy Bills offense. While he led the league in rushing yards per game (98) last year, his low reception volume (1.9 per game) limits his ceiling compared to other top-tier backs. He remains a solid pick, but analysts are splitting hairs between him and other elite options.

Insight page
PositiveValue30:15

James Cook is a high-floor player who didn't run hot on touchdowns or efficiency last year; he is a strong target in the late first or early second round. With the same offensive line and play-caller returning, his production is stable, and he may see increased reception volume based on his own comments to Matt Harmon.

Insight page

Javonte Williams

PositiveValue47:26

Javonte Williams is a clear third-round target who benefits from a high-powered Cowboys offense. While he lacks elite target volume, his touchdown upside is significant given the team's offensive line and play-calling. With minimal competition behind him, he is a rock-solid pick at his current price.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

PositiveUsage68:46

Jalen Warren is a strong flex play in a pass-first offense. Despite concerns about his red-zone efficiency, he is viewed as a better fit for the team's passing scheme than Rico Dowdle. Warren's ability to catch passes provides a solid floor, making him a preferred target over the market's valuation of Dowdle.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

PositiveValue37:32

Jeremiah Love is a high-upside target currently undervalued in drafts, often falling into the 30s. Despite a high ankle sprain, he is a superior talent to Ashton Gentry with bell-cow size and elite draft capital. The Cardinals' difficult schedule is offset by his expected role as the primary pass-catching back, and he is viewed as a potential league-winning pick.

Insight page

Jonathan Taylor

PositiveProjection8:23

Jonathan Taylor is a high-floor RB3 who dominated in Colts wins last season, averaging 30.5 half-PPR points in those games. He was the RB1 overall in usage through the first 13 weeks of last season. With Daniel Jones no longer a threat for goal-line carries, Taylor remains the focal point of Shane Steichen's offense.

Insight page

Kenneth Walker III

PositiveBreakout20:45

Kenneth Walker III is viewed as a 'franchise-altering' bell-cow in the Chiefs' offense. With a three-year, $43 million contract, he is expected to handle heavy between-the-tackles work and screen-game duties. He has averaged 17.5 fantasy points per game in contests with 60%+ snap shares and is a primary target at the round one/two turn.

Insight page

Kyren Williams

NegativeUsage45:26

Kyren Williams remains a high-floor RB15, though his upside is slightly capped by Blake Corum's presence. While the Rams' passing-heavy offense may regress, Williams' elite red-zone usage (third-most scores on fifth-most carries inside the 10) keeps him as a solid late-third-round pick with contingent upside if Corum misses time.

Insight page

MarShawn Lloyd

PositiveBreakout70:31

Marshawn Lloyd is a high-upside stash due to the uncertainty surrounding Josh Jacobs' availability. Depending on the severity of the video evidence in Jacobs' legal case, there is a legitimate path for Lloyd to serve as the Packers' primary running back for the entire season.

Insight page

Rhamondre Stevenson

NegativeDepth Chart66:47

Ramondra Stevenson is locked in as the Patriots' primary running back and will handle the first series. While Trivion Henderson is viewed as more explosive, Stevenson is the safer, established starter, though Henderson is a preferred target at his current ADP in the sixth or seventh round.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

PositiveValue16:44

Saquon Barkley is a prime bounce-back candidate after a disappointing season where the Eagles' offensive line struggled with health. With a more dynamic scheme under Sean Mannion and an expected return to form for the offensive line, Barkley is a strong target in late round one. His efficiency inside the five-yard line (1 TD on 11 carries) is expected to regress positively.

Insight page

Travis Etienne

PositiveValue48:55

Despite concerns regarding his efficiency and reliance on turnover-driven field position last year, Travis Etienne is a strong fourth-round value. The move to New Orleans provides a superior offensive line and a more favorable environment. He has proven consistency with 1,400 total yards in three of four seasons.

0:00Some call this the most important week in fantasy football.
0:03Yes, the vast majority of your leagues are drafting over the next seven days.
0:06So you know what time it is. The ultimate, yes, ultimate top 50 running back rankings for the entire season.
0:12Hayden and I put our rankings together here. Put pencil into pen to lock down our takes, to lock down our numbers,
0:18to lock down these ball carriers and to let you know where you need to select them.
0:22And we cover some new topics here. Obviously, the Josh Jacobs and Marshawn Lloyds situation.
0:27On top of it, Zach Charbonnet being on the pup list for four games, what that means for my guy, Judarian Price, and so, so, so much more.
0:34Lock in here to this episode of Yahoo Fantasy Football with Josh & Hayden.
0:38This is the biggest week of fantasy football drafts across the world.
0:41Yes, Hayden, this is the week that we turn, you know, rankings we have in pencil into pen, our final positional rankings across every single group.
0:48And today we start off with, you know, what makes the world go round the running backs?
0:53Yep, this is going to be a be our half PPR rankings, combine them together, but we're going to talk about the
0:59differences between Josh and I, and we're obviously going to get to the Josh Jacobs news.
1:03There's a bunch of like little tiny news about roster cutdowns and some preseason stuff that we'll get to.
1:08But like you said, pens down, it's time to turn the answers, answers in.
1:12It is. And this is the positional group that won leagues last year and many are drafting as if it'll win leagues
1:18again this year with so many of these names going in the top two rounds.
1:22So you got to get it right. And hopefully we're here to help you get it right.
1:27All right. We kick things off with Jameer Gibbs as both of our running back ones.
1:31There's a conversation of who is the running back one this year, Hayden.
1:34But the goal of drafting backs this high is to eclipse that 20 or 21 points per game for the entire season.
1:40And then the 25 games in which Jameer Gibbs has played 60% or more of his team snaps.
1:45He has averaged over 20 points per game. I've had 25.1 half PPR points in the eight games.
1:50Montgomery has either missed or played under 25% snaps.
1:53Even like Isaiah Pacheco is banged up right now.
1:55I think Drew Petsing has been a rock solid run game play caller as well.
1:59That's going to be the new offensive coordinator. They've kind of overhauled the offensive line, but I think it's in a better
2:05spot this year than it was at least this last season.
2:08I think Jameer Gibbs is not only the clear one-on-one.
2:11I think he's one of the best one-on-ones we've had in a very, very long time.
2:15I don't think that's even a consideration Gibbs versus Bijan.
2:18I think that he would actually be in his own tier by himself.
2:21And if I could choose where I would be drafting from this year, it'd be the one-on-one.
2:26If you mean Jameer Gibbs, you guys could figure the rest out yourselves.
2:29Yeah, I mean the Lions are favored in 14 games heading into this season.
2:33And by some rhetoric, the Lions have the easiest rushing schedule in the league this year.
2:37As you said, they're moving Panayi Sewell to left tackle.
2:40Blake Miller is the new right tackle out of round one.
2:43Tate Rattledge in year two. Cade Mays at center, hopefully if he's healthy.
2:47And then the spike tweak potential Jameer Gibbs is just something else because of his game-breaking ability to run away.
2:52So for all those factors, I think you and I are in unison here that he is the first player off the board.
2:58And that brings us to the second player in Bijan Robinson, a player who's also averaged 20 points per game when he has reached 15 touches.
3:05And he played 79% of the snaps last year for the Falcons.
3:09So basically we have Brian Robinson in for Tyler Algier.
3:11Tyler Algier was actually stealing some of the goal line work from Bijan Robinson.
3:15It was 11 to 10 on inside the five-yard line carries.
3:18But by the end of the season, Bijan was absolutely going crazy.
3:21In full PPR, he closes the gap with Jameer Gibbs because Bijan Robinson was RB2 and receptions at 4.6 in the last four games of the season.
3:29He almost had six receptions per game. So I think that the floor is pretty high.
3:33I would just say that the difference between the Falcons and the, and the lions this year could be substantial.
3:38And I think that's the reason why there's a legit tier break where I would put Bijan with the next couple of
3:44running backs that we're getting to rather than Jameer Gibbs, but his floor, he is like way too dominant to give a
3:50player that I have him fourth overall. Cause I'm taking Jamarchies and Puka ahead of them, but that's about as far as
3:56I can, you know, drop them down. Yeah. We always cite projected team totals ahead of the season.
4:01It's not to say this team is definitely going to finish in this spot.
4:05It's more directionally accurate. And I just mentioned that the lions are favored in 14 games heading into the year.
4:10The Falcons are favored for two. So their environments are quite different.
4:14Now, how could Bijan Robinson finish the season as the overall running back one?
4:17Well, in the last few years, he's ranked 13th, sixth and 23rd in red zone running back scoring 23 rushes inside the
4:23five yard line over the last three years combined.
4:26Derek Henry had 24 carries inside the five yard line on his own last year.
4:30Even David Singletary had more than Bijan Robinson did last season.
4:33So imagine if we can combine the long scores with the short ones as well.
4:37And that's, I think the possibility for Bijan to finish the season as the top overall player.
4:41It would just come down to is Brian Robinson and then be in the Algier role, or is this going to be a full bell cow Bijan Robinson?
4:49I'm sure it'll probably be somewhere in between. All right.
4:52Actually running backs three through 12, we completely disagree on.
4:54Neither of us have the same player in the same slot at any point here.
4:58So this is going to be really a mind melding format here for the next handful of picks.
5:03But for us, Jonathan Taylor is the running back three.
5:06As you know, one of the favorite stats of the summer, the Colts won eight games last season.
5:11In those wins, Jonathan Taylor averaged a cool 30 and a half PPR points.
5:15Half PPR points, half PPR points. Yeah, just wild stuff.
5:17RV one overall and RV two usage with Daniel Jones through the first 13 weeks.
5:21Those also included the five games where, you know, Daniel Jones playing on a broken leg.
5:26So 25.9 half PPR points in the first eight weeks of the season.
5:29I don't think that the Colts are going to be nearly as good.
5:33There's just too many moving parts, too many players banged up right now.
5:36But still, Jonathan Taylor is the focal point of this offense.
5:39He's going to get all the goal line work.
5:42You're not going to have to worry about Daniel Jones at the goal line anymore.
5:46He's a really good player. I think the play caller is one of the most underrated and Shane Steichen on top of it.
5:52So I think that his floor is exceptionally high here.
5:55And it sounds like that Daniel Jones is for sure going to be out there week one.
5:59He's had a really nice training camp. I don't think he's gonna be running around as much, but maybe that just means
6:05like more receptions to Jonathan Taylor, that type of thing.
6:08Yeah, if the Colts only win six games this season, Jonathan Taylor season might be a bit of a disappointment.
6:13But as we saw last year, few players have the ceiling that Jonathan Taylor does when they win games.
6:19And I think I'm slightly more optimistic than you of the Colts overall this season.
6:23And that's why now at this point of the offseason and of the summer have Jonathan Taylor as my, you know, running back three overall.
6:29I mean, 84.4% of the Colts back to the touches last year.
6:33And the only addition was a seventh round rookie who seems to have claimed that running back two spots for this team.
6:39So yeah, I mean, leading the league with six yards per carry and a 48% success rate in the opening 10 games
6:44before Daniel Jones got hurt is pretty freaking good.
6:47Not bad. That is somebody say, okay, next up your running back three, our running back four together is Christopher Caffrey.
6:53I'll give you the four here. Yeah. Every other year he wins your league.
6:56So, you know, there's like a 50% chance of you winning your league.
7:00That seems pretty good versus the baseline expectation here.
7:02So obviously we're dealing with some concerns. He's coming off 450 touches.
7:06The history of running backs with that is not good.
7:08I will say Christian McCaffrey like very clearly takes care of his body and it's like very on top of things.
7:14So if there's somebody that's going to buck that trend, I do think that Christian McCaffrey would be that type of candidate on top of that.
7:21He is going to be catching a bunch of passes.
7:24There's still a lot of question marks in the skill group.
7:27There are lots of players coming off injuries, lots of unproven players in general.
7:30He's still very good as a receiver on top of that.
7:33There's not going to be goal line competitions. Kalen black, a rookie third rounder who's had a nice preseason, but completely unproven in the, in the pros.
7:41And I think that Christian McCaffrey, whether they want him to touch the ball 20 times or not, I think they kind of have to do that.
7:48This year, the 49ers defense isn't that great. So I could see him just catching a bunch of passes as he always does.
7:54RB one with six receptions per game last year, even if he plays 12 games, I give you guys, you know, five
8:00games missed how much he scores in those 12 games.
8:03It's still outlandish. So you have to time it well, you have to get lucky here, but I do think he's got
8:09clearly the highest upside of anyone remaining. I actually think the 49ers defense would be better this year than it was last year.
8:15You would hope. Yes. Yes. All the injuries. Please.
8:18I think CMC is a really good pick in fantasy football this year.
8:21I think I just have more concerns compared to names like John and Taylor or a name we're going to talk about
8:27here than other people do about CMC. And, you know, we can talk about the 450 touches that Saquon, DeMarco Murray and
8:33Aaron Foster all had that recently or somewhat recently.
8:35And they fell off a cliff in their following season, a drop from anywhere from five to seven fantasy points per game, which is massive.
8:42Those guys were also 26 and 27 years old.
8:45CMC is 30 years old. We've also seen him in seasons have, you know, over 350 touches and then play just a handful of games the next season.
8:52But some of the underlying metrics last year, Hayden, as you know, were just atrocious, like 39th in yards per carry, 31st
8:58in success rate, 37th in rate of runs to gain 10 or more yards, 32nd in runs that failed to gain yardage,
9:0436th in yards after contact per rush. So I am slightly concerned that we might kind of see the cliff here, like the peak.
9:11But at the same time, if he does play 17 games, he is going to make good on the overall fourth running back in your leagues.
9:18I will always say this about efficiency with running backs and fantasy is I tend to think it's kind of overrated.
9:23Like we just want the touches and we want the high value ones.
9:27And like whether they average five yards per carry or four yards per carry, you guys can do the math on like
9:33adding another full yard per carry across the season.
9:35It doesn't really move the needle. It's like, how many times are you touching the ball?
9:40How many goal line touches? And for Christian McCaffrey, he had 24.9 expected full PPR points, according to my model.
9:45Like let's say he's the least efficient running back of all time.
9:48He would still be a top three running back.
9:51Yeah. Which he kind of was last year in a lot of ways.
9:54Well, only in the rush. In almost all of those categories.
9:57Yeah. The receiving step was still rock solid. So we'll see.
10:00Totally. Yeah. Uh, okay. My fourth running back ahead of CMC is actually our combined fifth.
10:04And that is Saquon Barkley. Um, the Eagles best offensive line played together last year, just 42% of the snaps.
10:10And you go from, you know, anywhere from my lot to Lane Johnson and everyone in between.
10:14Um, and we've heard from Lane Johnson this off season.
10:17He continues to speak that the goal is to get back to that 2024 rushing attack.
10:21Um, that is what is going to change the math when it comes to the passing game.
10:26That's what is going to make everything easier. And that 2024 stuff.
10:29And that 2024 stuff, he was the player that you needed.
10:32He was a running back one overall. He was a true difference maker in fantasy football.
10:37So while last year was definitely a down year for the Eagles.
10:40And that turned into a bad pick in the first round for Saquon Barkley.
10:44Uh, I kind of think that people are forgetting in a way, at least to me that from an eye test standpoint,
10:50Saquon Barkley did not look any different last year.
10:52And it just shows how much of an environmental one things can change.
10:56And I'm banking on them getting much closer back to 2024 here.
10:59It sounds like Sean Mannion's running a little bit of a different offense.
11:02I'm, I'm very much welcome to that. I think it's going to be very fun.
11:06That's, uh, if he's learning from the floor, that was still a very run, uh, running back focused, uh, offense in general.
11:12I think the offensive line was like the real reason why everything kind of failed along with the scheme, very static scheme.
11:18There's at least doing more motion, some more different formations, more different personnel groupings for the Eagles.
11:23It's going to be a little bit more interesting of an offense, but at the same time, the offensive line appreciates how calm it is for them.
11:30Uh, they have their stuff sorted out and all like the wrinkles are coming through the skill group.
11:35Uh, my biggest stat for Saquon, he had one rushing touchdown on 11 carries inside the five yard line.
11:40That's a negative 86% rush yards over expected that just can't happen again.
11:44And the good news is it's very unlikely to happen again.
11:47Uh, so with Saquon Barkley, as long as they get Landon Dickerson playing back to where he has been, Cam Juergens, the
11:53same thing, both of those guys played, but those guys were not the same players.
11:57Layton Johnson played half the season. I think as long as we get like a more normal offensive line season for the
12:03Eagles, it'll be a top five, one top 10, one where last year I'm not even sure if they were a league
12:09average offensive line, which is crazy to say. Uh, but I'm with you.
12:12We should be buying back in Saquon Barkley late round one.
12:15I have no problems. Yeah. He has slowly climbed up.
12:18I mean, when we did shows, I don't know, a month or two ago, he was going early in the second round right now on Yahoo.
12:25He's the 11th overall pick. So Hayden, I would say we're doing our jobs here.
12:29Um, I mean last year at this time we were saying that, Hey, CMC is the player that you need that people
12:35were just snake bitten by him and they didn't want to select him in the area that they should be as a top five, six overall pick.
12:42Uh, Saquon Barkley is my version of that this year.
12:45Okay. Next. Our combined guy here in Ken Walker, the third, he's our running back six, but for you, it's one spot
12:51higher, even as you're running back five. Why are you so into K nine this year?
12:55Well, as you look at the history of Andy Reed, we have absolute bell cows catching the ball in the backfield.
13:01You have Brian Westbrook to Staley, LaShawn McCoy, Jamal Charles.
13:04I think there's a little bit of shady McCoy to Kenneth Walker.
13:07They have a three year, $43 million contract, $28 million guaranteed.
13:10That was their move of the off season was to get him, uh, on offense.
13:14I think they're going to completely change what this offense is going to look like.
13:18They're going to be way more understanding than they ever have been.
13:21They're gonna be way more running back between the tackles focus than they ever have before.
13:25Andy Reed is excellent in the screen game. I think that the screens have traditionally been going to the wide receivers recently,
13:31but that's because they have not had a dynamic running back.
13:34There's no reason why Kenneth Walker can't be one of the best running backs in the screen game.
13:39If you've seen him out in the open space, uh, is right now it's Emmett Johnson behind him for shards.
13:45Like these are like zero investment, smaller players. I think Kenneth Walker is going to be a bell cow.
13:50Whenever Andy Reed has had a bell cow, they've been like a top three, top five fantasy score.
13:55We've never seen Patrick Mahomes with this level of running back before.
13:58I'm very curious to see how it works. And I think that all the trickeration, the flip stuff near the goal line,
14:04uh, I don't think they're going to have to do that.
14:07They're going to run it right behind Creed Humphrey and let Kenneth Walker cook.
14:11I think that he's going to have an excellent season.
14:13Yeah. One beat writer in Pete Sweeney said that the chiefs view can walk the third as quote, a franchise altering player.
14:19That's good enough for me. You know, Mark, the third has averaged 17 and a half fantasy points per game over the 26 games.
14:26He has reached 60% of snaps. I'll put it down the table.
14:29Now I think K nine is going to reach 60% of snaps in every single game he plays this season.
14:34You know, that was an issue previously in Seattle, but as we saw, once we got to the postseason, especially the Superbowl,
14:40when you give Ken Walker, the third, the football a lot, good things happen.
14:44They were 20th in explosive carries last year. I believe the chiefs were 20th, 10th and yards before contact per attempt, but
14:5032nd in rush yards after contact per attempt. Look up in the definition.
14:54Somebody create yards on their own. That is Ken Walker, the third.
14:57And, uh, I can't wait to see him in this offense.
15:00They are like tailoring everything around him. Yep. Yep.
15:02I love it. The infrastructure said, even with those really bad offensive lines and the last couple of years and really, really
15:08bad running backs, the chiefs were still top 10 in running back, uh, rushing success rate.
15:13It's like, couldn't rip off any explosives. They didn't have anyone that could run a four or four, like Ken Walker.
15:18So I've drafted him 22% of the time, easily the highest of any player in the first couple of rounds here.
15:24He's like my like go-to player at the round one, two turn.
15:27Yeah. If you don't draft on Yahoo, if you draft somewhere else for shame on you, but second, you're going to be
15:33able to get Ken Walker in third, like way later.
15:36He's 21st or something in consensus rankings. That is mind boggling to me.
15:39I don't think he should fall past the 13th overall pick in drafts right now.
15:43Like I said, he's my running back seven and, uh, he's your running back five.
15:47Um, just quickly, if you're new around here, it's the type of content that you get, not just ahead of the season
15:53during draft season, but also Sunday through Sunday, as we get to the real football being played.
15:58So hit subscribe, leave a thumbs up and, uh, join us on this journey.
16:02Next up, James cook is our running back seven of the Buffalo bills last season.
16:06Just second in yards per rush, ninth in success rate, eighth and rate of runs of 10 plus yards second and rate of runs failed to gain yards.
16:13Hey, my question to you, the bills certainly sound like they're going to change things this off season.
16:18What would those changes? Would they be positive or negative here for James?
16:22I'm going to go more neutral to, to negative, I guess.
16:25I think they're going to pass the ball more than they did most recently because, uh, I think that was probably a McDermott kind of thing.
16:32And I think that the new off or new play caller was the offensive coordinator.
16:36I'm guessing they're going to take a more Josh Allen heavy approach.
16:39You add DJ more dog, Kincaid's actually healthy going into the season where that has not been the case most recently.
16:45So I think they might pass the ball a little bit more.
16:48The question becomes like, is James cook also going to be a part of that?
16:52Because last year he was the running back 39 and receptions per game at 1.9.
16:56If they do pass more, maybe he catches more passes at the same time.
17:00Like you just added DJ more for a reason.
17:02You still have Khalil Shakir to do some of the manufacturer touch stuff.
17:06So like my question is, can James cook finish like a top three fantasy running back?
17:10Like, of course, like he can, but I just think that his odds of doing that are lower than some of the other backs that we talked about.
17:18Like we've seen Saquon Barkley do it. I think that Kenneth Walker in this role, bell cow role is going to be really awesome.
17:24So I just looking at the receptions for James cook kind of breaking ties against him, but I will say you and
17:30I have them as the 12th and 14th overall players are for Yahoo colleagues.
17:34All of them have them inside the top 10.
17:37So like we're, we're on the outside perspective, looking at this, I can only move them down so much because the floor is so incredible.
17:43But last year, most carries most rushing yards per game at 98 per game.
17:47He was running back six. So you have to catch more passes than that, uh, to, to make up the difference.
17:53We'll see. It's tough to hear that because when you look at these names and this group, it kind of feels like
17:59you're splitting hairs, but I feel like you have to split hairs because all these guys are good and you're only on
18:05the clock twice in the one, two turn. And so you have to make these two decisions.
18:09And so while I prefer Saquon Barkley and can walk the third ahead of James cook, that doesn't mean I dislike James cook.
18:15Just those people that you cited seem to put James cook ahead of those two names.
18:20And again, if like I am on the clock tomorrow in the experts live draft that we have over on Yahoo, leave.
18:26It's at five. I'll be soon to an end.
18:28Uh, Hayden has a ninth pick. I have the 10th pick.
18:31Matt Harmon is eighth pick. It's going to be a grueling war all night long.
18:35Um, I'd be very willing to take James cook in that spot or on the turn as well.
18:40Yep. I don't, I haven't drafted him that much because he doesn't fall back to the second round to where I believe
18:46he should be going, but he's a really high floor player.
18:49And I looked at like all of the efficiency stuff.
18:52Like he didn't run hot on touchdowns. He's just really good at football and the bills are really good offense.
18:57He wasn't running hot in terms of his efficiency, like an explosive plays, like he's supposed to rip off explosive plays in
19:03this offense for the five offensive linemen are returning.
19:06It's the same play caller as, as the, the, the year before they didn't add anybody to the running back room.
19:11So like we could mostly copy paste this exact season from last year, but last year, like he was probably around the 12th overall, uh, player.
19:18Um, and I think that's probably where he belongs.
19:21I'm just, I'm worried about trying to compete with, you know, Jameerah Gibbs this year.
19:25And I, I'm not sure if James Cook's going to close that gap.
19:28Talking about the pass rate. I mean, since you're ready, took over his play color, they've been 31st, 25th and 30th in dropback rate.
19:35Uh, James Cook actually did an interview with Matt Harmon and alluded to the fact that they're going to throw the football
19:41more and that he'd get more receptions. So, uh, that would be fricking awesome.
19:44It's interesting. We talk about flag plants all the time.
19:47I do feel like there are two flag plant areas in drafts this year for people like us that rank and talk about these.
19:54It's this cluster of one, two turn work running backs.
19:56And it's that cluster of round four wide receivers.
19:59Yeah. And if you get that right, you probably wouldn't face a football this year.
20:03Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Definitely. But you also have to compete with the Jameerah Gibbs teams.
20:07Like I keep saying, which are, they're terrifying. All right.
20:09So next one is Devon Achan. He's at running back eight.
20:12Uh, this is mainly because of you. You have him as a seventh overall back.
20:16I have him as a 10th overall pack. That hurts to say, because I freaking love Devon Achan.
20:21I drafted him relentlessly last summer, but let me hear it.
20:24Why am I too low here on Achan? Who you have ahead of James Cook?
20:28In full PPR, he averaged over 20 fantasy points per game last season.
20:32He was the RB5 on RB5 usage. In half PPR, he was the RB5 on RB7 usage.
20:36Uh, the Dolphins weren't good last year. Like they were still a bottom 10 offense, uh, last year.
20:41I think, uh, this year's team could be a little bit worse for sure.
20:45Uh, but they did at least add a first round left guard.
20:48Who was just a huge human who should be very effective on the ground game.
20:52It's still, uh, Bobby Slovic who at least was watching Devon Achan.
20:56I just think simply put, he is by far the best player on their team and they have nobody else to throw the ball to.
21:02So as much as like Malik Wilson is going to scramble and like, he's going to maybe take some sacks and they
21:08might not pass the ball as much. I do think that Devon Achan's receptions will come down a little bit.
21:14Most of the reception Devon Achan got last year were schemed up touches.
21:17They were not check downs. I think that's like a big misconception.
21:21And there's no way you can look at me and this depth chart and tell me that Devon Achan is not going
21:26to get a bunch of manufactured receptions this year.
21:29Like that's impossible, especially with the state of their defense.
21:32They're going to have to get him the ball.
21:34Uh, they've had some really crazy quotes, uh, from the coaching staff saying like, they're going to give him the ball like 40 times per game.
21:41Uh, I'm not expecting that to happen, but I would not be surprised for as long as he stays healthy and he's
21:47a small cat, uh, that he could easily be amongst the highest in touches per game this year.
21:52And I think that the dolphins are going to be a bad offense.
21:55I don't think they're going to be a historically bad offense.
21:58There's at least a chance that Malik Willis could be a fine quarterback.
22:02If you look at some of the advanced metrics, it suggests that he absolutely can do that.
22:07So, um, I hear you guys on the concerns definitely, but I just think the workload and his skillset, I think an
22:12underrated offensive line is enough for me to break favors and or break ties in favor of him.
22:17Considering he's been a top five running back multiple times already.
22:20In the last three years, he's scored 12, 12 and 11 touchdowns.
22:24Um, I do have a slight concern. Like what if that drops down to five and eight touchdowns like Brie Saul's had
22:30over the last couple of seasons on kind of lower end offenses across the league.
22:34That's kind of the main difference here between, I don't know, the running back seven and the running back 10 of where we rank them differently.
22:41Um, I'm also of the opinion that if every time someone who was on the same coaching staff replaced someone that moved
22:47on, who was very good at calling offensive plays and they just called the exact same thing and we could just say,
22:53Oh, of course they're going to do that. Uh, then we wouldn't see as many downturns in production as we typically do.
22:58So I, I do have some concerns of Bobby Sloick stepping in for Mike McDaniel.
23:03Uh, even if I like other aspects of Bobby Sloick's game, uh, in terms of production help and all that type of stuff.
23:09But, um, I freaking love Devon HN and I'm like you, it wouldn't shock me at all.
23:13If he's top three running back touches this season.
23:16Next chase Brown. This is almost the inverse. I have him as running back eight.
23:20You have him as running back 10. So cumulatively he's our running back nine.
23:24Then you can argue that chase Brown has the best running back environment of any other player at this position across the league.
23:30I mean, one only HN B. John and Jameer Gibbs have more receptions and chase Brown over the last two seasons among
23:36running backs to he played 74% of the snaps in the red zone, which was running back five across the league.
23:41All five starters are returning along this offensive line.
23:44The Bengals are currently favored in 15 games, 15 heading into the season and they're going from under center.
23:49They are changing the running back angles. That is actually going to help the running back spot.
23:54Uh, I think more than people are letting onto and realizing.
23:57And so again, while chase Brown might not be the individual talent that HN and cook and K nine and Saquon Barkley is boy.
24:03Oh boy. Do I love the situation that he said?
24:06Yeah. The floor is exceptional with chase Brown. Uh, there's 21 games with Joe Burrow over the last two seasons.
24:11He's the RB 12 on RB five usage. I would argue that the offensive line is slowly getting better to the point
24:17where they're probably somewhere around league average. I know that Nate ties, he just posted his offensive line kind of tears and that's where he had the Bengals.
24:25So, uh, I feel really good about the floor.
24:27I'm not sure if he's gonna catch as many passes this year as he did kind of in like those really sloppy
24:33offenses, but at the same time, uh, more under center stuff, like to close out games and stuff, I do think will help out.
24:40I think that there's a reason why they're going more under center.
24:43They want to find more explosives on the ground game.
24:46So I would not be surprised if chase Brown's like yards per carry goes up a little bit, but I don't think
24:52the receptions are going to be there quite as, uh, crazy as they have been previously.
24:56I think going under center will decrease that. I also think the defense will probably not be like the worst I've ever seen this year.
25:03Like that's at least the hope. Um, I have no problems with chase Brown in the middle of round two.
25:08I would just say that his ceilings probably, you know, capped versus like Derek Henry's floors a lot lower.
25:13Derek Henry ceiling is a whole lot higher than chase Brown.
25:16So it's like, how do you want to play this personally?
25:19I think that's a fair point. Um, I'll also add that chase Brown for those that drafted him last year might have
25:25some hesitation to do so based on, you know, he was Mr.
25:28On off splits last season. Uh, I mean the early stuff with that one and a half game from Joe Burrow and then Jake Browning was absolutely horrific.
25:36And then as we know, the final 11 games of last season, he averaged 105 yards from scrimmage, uh, reaching 90 total yards in nine of those games.
25:44So yeah, I mean, I really, really like chase Brown.
25:46And I was just looking to see where inconsistent rankings happen.
25:49They have him 12th overall now, uh, even ahead of Saquon Barkley in half EPR, which is a big, big, big statement, a big statement.
25:56Next is Derek Henry. Derek Henry is our 10th running back to finish this tier.
26:00You have a ninth. I am 11th smack down in the middle, 16 touchdowns last year at age 31.
26:05One Hayden, my, one of my favorite stats in the summer from retreat bar.
26:09Only nine other players in league history have as many seasons with double digit touchdowns.
26:13And if he does it again, he just gets 10 this year.
26:16He joins Jerry Rice, the David Tomlinson, Emmitt Smith and Randy Moss.
26:19That's it. I mean, what a historic level and company and group that would be for Derek Henry to join.
26:25And he might just do it. He did that.
26:27And the Ravens weren't even good last year. I mean, I'm looking at them.
26:31They were 10th in scoring projected points wise. They're a fifth.
26:34So they're expected to be better this year because Lamar Jackson missed so much time.
26:38Uh, I feel pretty good about Declan Doyle. It seems like one of these like complete sicko guys that loves football so
26:44much that, uh, he's just like really ready to go.
26:47It seems like they're going to double down on the stuff that Lamar is good at and kind of get rid of
26:53the stuff that was maybe a little bit too complex.
26:55Uh, long story short, I think that the only reason to be a little bit skeptical of Derek Henry would be the
27:01offensive line is like really kind of going through things like, especially at center and like their tackle spot has been like
27:07very hit and miss depending on injury. So I think that among the offensive lines, he's actually might be the worst of anybody at the turn here.
27:15Um, but at the same time, Derek Henry is projected for the most rushing touchdowns.
27:19When they get down to the one yard line, they don't even try to throw the ball.
27:23We know where this one's going. It's still the same cast of characters behind him.
27:27It's justice Hill. Uh, and then a couple of like no namers behind that.
27:31So no Keaton Mitchell is good for him. No, Isaiah likely is probably good for Derek Henry.
27:36Um, we just got to get Lamar Jackson healthy.
27:38And then hopefully the Ravens could be, you know, a legit top five offense.
27:42And if that's the case, we're going to look back at this ADP and be like, what the hell were we doing
27:48for like what the fifth straight year? Totally. And Baltimore is currently favored in 14 games this year.
27:53That's tied for the third most in the league.
27:55I made this point on the live show that Harmon and Boone and I did.
27:59I want to make it again here. These are half PPR rankings.
28:03I think Derek Henry is the most overthought player when it comes to full PPR because just considering his rings and full
28:09PPR have Derek Henry as the 38th overall player.
28:11Um, just because he doesn't catch a lot of passes last year in full PPR on a bad team.
28:16And in his worst situation, I think he finishes the running back seven in points per game.
28:21So it's touchdowns matter still more than receptions, you know, and the dude just scores touchdowns.
28:25It really is that simple. Yeah, no, it really is.
28:28Um, I mean, I could not imagine having Derek Henry as a 38th overall player in full PPR rankings.
28:33Yeah, that is like, it literally just, there's not, there's no math taste.
28:36There's no film tape in full PPR rankings. Man.
28:39Yeah. We got to play more PPR. Well, we have full top 100 PPR rankings here on the YouTube channel.
28:44If you guys want to go and check that one out.
28:47Uh, also, uh, I'm going to be sick all week.
28:50I'm powering through it. So just bear with me as we go through every single one of these episodes.
28:55All right. Keep that in mind. Next is Omar and Hampton.
28:58And this is one of the best conversations that we've had 12 times this summer.
29:02And let's do it for our two 13th. All right.
29:05Um, the latest from Daniel Popper says that quote, this is not that confusing to me.
29:09It's not that complicated. Omar and Hampton. It's really, really, really good at football.
29:13I wouldn't overthink it here from a fantasy perspective of Marvin Hampton is the guy that is good news to me.
29:19I've missed a ninth running back. You have him as the 11th.
29:22Uh, I have some skepticism that he's really, really, really good at football.
29:25But at the same time, I think that Mike McDaniel is very, very, very good at calling rushing schemes and offenses.
29:31And, uh, if a more in Hampton stays healthy and gets off to a great start, we could be in for a
29:37fantastic season that makes him better than the running back.
29:40I like how we have the tears where those top 10 players have like done it before, feel very good about it.
29:46They have like nothing left to prove, like just copy paste.
29:49And then the next couple of players, I would put the boom bust RB one labels on them where their floor is
29:55definitely lower because we just don't know how good they are exactly what role they have, but they can easily be a top five running back.
30:02Like Omari and Hampton's absolutely that player, 220 pounds.
30:04He's very fast. Uh, I thought that he was playing between the tackles a little bit too hesitant for me and maybe
30:10a little bit too upright at times where I didn't think that he was like one of the top 10 running backs in the NFL.
30:17But the good news is, uh, McDaniels are going to point him to the perimeter and kind of use them like Derrick
30:23Henry, where just like, you're too big, too fast.
30:25You don't want some stretch runs and pitches and see what happens.
30:28He can catch the ball. I thought his pass protection was weak, but he can catch the ball.
30:33It's similar like Devon H and we're just like, throw him the ball.
30:37Don't ask him to pass protect. And you figure the rest out to me.
30:41It just comes down to is Khamenei Vidal actually going to be out there in pass protection.
30:45We'll see about that. And then number two is Keaton Mitchell, like actually involved, or is this just like four or five touches per game?
30:52Like every other running back deals with, but if that's 10 touches per game, that is how Omar and Hampton, like quite doesn't get there.
30:59Uh, the chargers interior offensive line makes me very nervous.
31:01We're talking about a rookie center to very below average guards next to them.
31:05We'll see if Joe all in Slater can stay healthy.
31:08Boom bust. I'll, you guys have been drafting closer to the boom side of that.
31:12I'm not going to call him a bus. I'm a little bit lower on him.
31:16I got an 18th overall. Yeah. He's going eight.
31:18Well, I should say he's ranked 18th overall in consensus rankings right now.
31:22Uh, I just believe in the fit just from big man runs fast.
31:25And then with Mike McDaniel, with his offense is ranked fifth in yards per rush attempt, fifth in success rate and first
31:31explosive run rate over his time with Miami. And we know on 52 runs where Hampton was contacted beyond the line of
31:37scrimmage, which is going to be Mike McDaniel's job.
31:40He averaged 7.4 yards per rush. Uh, that was seventh of 49 runners in the league last year.
31:45So, uh, this is one I can't wait to track as the season goes along and correct me if I'm wrong.
31:50I think Keaton Mitchell was kind of banged up heading into the season too.
31:54He is. He did not go to injured reserve.
31:57That doesn't mean that he can't go to injured reserve in the next couple of day days or so.
32:02But, um, it sounds like I'm guessing not that serious of injury, but he's dealing with something.
32:06It's no beat reporters. No, anything. They're not allowed inside the building for like the next couple of days.
32:11It's wild, wild west. We'll talk more about Keaton later on.
32:14It's, it's an interesting offense too, because they have multiple tight ends.
32:18They have a fullback they're going to use and they can kind of use that fullback to help in protection or the
32:24extra tight ends to help in protection and then get the running back as, you know, an active receiver out in the
32:30flats too, which like you said, Hampton can do quite well.
32:33Um, these, I believe 11 players, and we have one more on top of it next, uh, are these 12 are in
32:39the 18 overall selections in drafts this year, which is, uh, pretty important again to get right.
32:43And hopefully we've gotten it right so far. That brings us to our 12th running back.
32:47And that is Ashton Gentry of the Las Vegas Raiders.
32:50Uh, Hayden, he handled 84.3% of the backflow touches last season.
32:53The second most in the NFL just hit pause.
32:56Where are you at here with Gentry heading into his second season?
32:59I got him as my 20th overall player. Um, and I think I'm finally getting to the point where I can draft
33:05him a little bit where I was completely fading him before that.
33:08But it sounds like he, let's say he misses a game or two at the beginning of the season.
33:13I don't think we should be like drafting based off of that really at all.
33:17He should have somebody to replace him. And there's a chance he's out there in week one.
33:22He did not go to injured reserve, uh, on cut down day.
33:25So, uh, the offense does seem a lot better.
33:27The offensive line feels like it's going to be a lot better this year because of coaching plus Linderbaum.
33:33So I think that's going to make a difference.
33:35Colton Miller at left tackle comes back from injury as well.
33:38So I think the offensive line, I don't think it'll be bad.
33:41I don't think it'll be good as a probably somewhere in between.
33:45And that's like a big, uh, head start for Asha Gentry.
33:48I do think what you're kind of hinting at though, is that that workload number is going to come down because Mike
33:53Washington, I think has absolutely earned it. Uh, could be, I've said as much, uh, anyone watching this.
33:58And like, if you watch the player, he was not a bell cow back in college, but he was like one of
34:04the most exciting, like change of pace, uh, players.
34:07Uh, he did this against sec competition, by the way, he absolutely lit up the combine.
34:11Plus he can catch some passes. So like 84% of the touches in the backfield, they're just like, no way that's going to repeat.
34:18So I do think that the efficiency is going to go up.
34:21I think the workload will come down just a little bit and we'll call that a net win versus where he was
34:27last year, where I think he was like the RB 16.
34:30So a little bit more optimistic than last year.
34:32A lot of people have been drafting him as if like, he could like redefine the season and be like the best
34:38back ever and all the touches and stuff. I just don't see that pathway.
34:42I don't think Ashton Gentry is good enough to handle that.
34:45I think Mike Washington is better than giving credit for.
34:48And I think the Raiders like a season away from like actually being an average offense.
34:52Yeah. I do want to expand on a lot of that.
34:55Um, I think I actually have him lower than you, maybe around 26th overall right now.
34:59Um, you know, he was going early in the summer when fully healthy as about the 11th or 12th overall pick ahead
35:05of a bunch of the names that we've talked about here.
35:08And that never made sense to me. Like I thought early on, I was, you know, being very realistic with him, the
35:14running back 17 last year in points per game and drinking him as like the 18th overall player.
35:19You know, that's already in my mind, making a case that the offensive line is going to go from awful to average.
35:25The play color is going to move things up from awful to average and all that type of stuff.
35:30But now with this injury that it seems like he's okay, but we really have like, no, like truly no details on at this point.
35:37Who knows that that lingers for one game or two games or three games or no games.
35:41I just get this feeling that how Mike Washington has performed this preseason, a player that I really, really liked in the
35:47draft has made his case that, Hey, he's going to get some extra work in this first couple of weeks.
35:53And I believe in those first couple of weeks when he does get some playing time, if he reels off an explosive
35:59or two, or if he's just a really consistent runner, then that goes from 85% of the touches last year down to
36:05like your normal 65% of the touches. And then we're just talking about kind of a normal split in the backfield on
36:11a team that, you know, has some real struggles heading into the season where they face the charters, the chiefs, the Patriots,
36:17the bills and the Rams before week seven, you know?
36:19So, um, I just think like the equation has changed from let's say July even.
36:23And, uh, it's a player that I really liked, but some people might think that Mike Washington Jr.
36:28is not nearly as good as the credit I give him.
36:31Yeah. I think it just comes down to, he was a fifth year prospect was never like the bell cow in his offense.
36:37I think that you have to kind of give him like a lot of passes to get there.
36:42I'm willing to give him some passes there. I'm not sure if it's going to be all the way down to 65%,
36:48but if it's 74% instead of 84%, that is a pretty substantial difference.
36:52And we'll see how they want to use Gentry in the receiving game.
36:55Do they want Mike Washington to come in on third downs?
36:58Like what exactly is this split? Is it like two drives to one drive?
37:02We'll figure all that stuff out, but we got no answers because of the injury, uh, in the preseason.
37:07So, um, I'm fascinated by this one. I think in, in general, uh, don't believe in the Raiders upside case is probably
37:13won people a lot of money over the last couple of years.
37:16I think times are changing, but it's still like in the back of my head.
37:20Like Omarion Hampton versus Gentry. It's like a boom bust situation.
37:23Give me the chargers over the Raiders. Um, and that's kind of where I'm at.
37:27Well, let's talk about another injured young player. Jeremiah Love is our running back 13.
37:32We basically have him in the same exact spot.
37:34Where do you think, and how do you think he's going to be utilized coming off this high ankle sprain after the
37:40first, well, I should say their second preseason game after the whole thing.
37:43Okay. So I'm pretty optimistic on Jeremiah. Love his price tag is like really, really cheap.
37:48Like I've been drafting him in like the thirties very often.
37:51And I think that's just too low. I think that's people putting too much emphasis on like the first or second game of the season.
37:58We don't know if he's going to play week one or not.
38:01I'm not that concerned about that. Even if he's not out there for the first couple of weeks, at least his injury
38:07happened a week or like it was about like 10 days earlier than Gentry's.
38:10For example, I think Jeremiah Love is better than, um, Ashton Gentry straight up.
38:14I thought that as a prospect, I think that he has enough size to be a legit bell cow.
38:19I think Tyler Algier is going to play a little bit, but I think that they drafted him third overall to like make a point about this.
38:27And I think they're going to give them the rock a ton in any player with his college, uh, profile, his draft capital.
38:33We have never seen them drafted this late. And like, obviously you're on the Arizona Cardinals.
38:37There's a reason for that. But I think this is like the most obvious bet on talent situation ever.
38:42And like the fact that you can do this, like in the thirties on a lot of the drafts, I think that
38:48is like one of the very best picks available.
38:51So I got them at 26 overall. It looks like you have met 26 overall, but there's a lot of times where
38:57like late in round three, like I'm throwing a party because I got Jeremiah Love to fall that late.
39:02So it's a long season, you win the money later in the season.
39:05Right. To me, this is like a very obvious bet on talent situation.
39:09Like one, this is going to be, I think where I look back and be like, that was rare that we got that opportunity to do that.
39:16Yeah. We are constantly changing our rankings. And it's funny when you see him on a field, I thought he was bigger than I expected.
39:23And then, you know, how he moved with the ball in his hands in my mind during that preseason game, I was already moving him up.
39:30And then with the injury and the high ankle on like his 14th touch, then it kind of just went back to
39:36exactly where I previously had him ranked versus moving him and almost double counting that to move him down even further.
39:42Yeah. He's going in draft or consistent rings right now.
39:44And on Yahoo drafts is like a 28th overall player.
39:47So I would like to get more and more.
39:50I will say, I mean, I understand the Cardinals and I like the floor as a play caller.
39:54They have a lot of pass game options. I mean, they have what four players that you're drafting the top 100 right now on your platforms.
40:01The schedule is absolutely brutal. You know, I mean, from week one to week 11, it's Chargers, Seahawks, 49ers, Giants, Lions, Rams,
40:07Broncos, Cowboys, Seahawks, Rams again, Chiefs on top of it.
40:10So it's, we will see how they're able to get four quality fantasy assets, enough points on any given week.
40:15But at the same time, Mike LaFleur has a history with, you know, a young running back with Brees Hall during his first season and with the Jets.
40:23And he was a running back seven in points per game.
40:26And that was even with a slow start of 12, eight and 14 touches in the opening three games.
40:31And from there on, he's like, oh yeah, Brees is my best offensive player.
40:35I'm going to load him up with touches each and every time.
40:38Yeah. I think Algier is somebody that's not going to play on the passing down.
40:42It's like, I know that's going to go to Jeremiah Love.
40:45By the way, there was like, at one point, it's like, what about Trey Benson?
40:49And he's obviously released, like obviously. And then James Conner has been dealing with a foot injury.
40:54They don't know when he's going to come back.
40:56And like James Conner at this point of his career, especially once Jeremiah Love's on the field, like we should not be factoring those guys.
41:03This is Algier versus Jeremiah Love. And are you guys actually going to tell me that Tyler Algier is going to get
41:09in the way of Jeremiah Love for the entire season?
41:12I just think that's, that's just asking a lot.
41:14And by the way, that schedule is very difficult.
41:17I don't expect the Cardinals to win a lot of games.
41:20And there were some like bad offense or really great offenses, bad defenses, like on that schedule where it's like not that big of a deal.
41:27And if he's going to be the guy that's catching a bunch of passes, rough schedule.
41:31It is. But like the lions, like perfect. Jeremiah Love versus the lions.
41:34Like that seems awesome to me. Like that's, I'm not even reading that as a bad thing.
41:39So we're going to catch a bunch of passes and rip off explosives against that defense.
41:43Like I'm cool with that type of stuff. So, okay.
41:46Well, I'm listening to everything that you're saying. And I'm shocked that you have Ashton Shinty raked ahead of Jeremiah Love.
41:52Um, I go back and forth on it. They're, they're very close in my rankings.
41:56I might have them like legit, like back to back or it's close to it.
42:00I think that the, the difference is, um, Ashton Shinty, like I know he's getting 75% of the work for like the entire season.
42:06I think there, there could be like, you know, it's 55% for the first month or so.
42:11And like, that's a little bit frustrating. And then like by the end of the season, you know, Jeremiah Love surpassed Ashton
42:17Shinty, but I think it's gonna take a little bit longer for Love to get to the Genty workload.
42:22Let us know if you're drafting Jeremiah Love this year in the comments.
42:26Uh, I think it is one of those cases where, especially in your home leagues, he'll have like a Q tag or
42:32whatever, a red tag next to his name. And that might make him drop even further in your home leagues.
42:37And, uh, this could be a real value as Hayden pointed out.
42:40All right. Next is Brees Hall as our running back 14 coming off a career high in rushing yards.
42:45And I don't think anyone else has uttered that phrase all summer long.
42:49Unfortunately, that equaled the running back 20 in points per game on the season.
42:53Why? Well, we always come back to the only scored five touchdowns.
42:56So Hayden, we are banking on him scoring way more than five touchdowns this season.
43:00Yeah. I think a couple of things have changed.
43:02One, we have like a triple down on Brees Hall, the player for, for the jets.
43:07They could have traded and they decided not to.
43:09Then they gave him a big, uh, uh, payday this off season after franchise tagging him.
43:14And then all of their off season reports, it's like not this like three headed monster that we had last year.
43:19And now there was like a Brees Hall is just going to get the rocket a ton.
43:24And that's how it should be. By the way, Isaiah Davis coming back from an injury, still kind of working his way back right now.
43:31Braylon Allen is, he's a very one dimensional player.
43:33I think the jets offensive line is actually in a really good spot and not even like an average spot.
43:38I think it's a good offensive line. And we got to remember the jets weren't like just jetsing last.
43:44Like they were like really jetsing. I mean, Brady cook was out there.
43:47Uh, if you start removing like five games with like Brady cook, then he at least was like the RB 17.
43:53And that was still with like really terrible quarterback play.
43:55I think that Geno Smith for all of his warts and there's certainly plenty.
43:59Um, this is going to be night and day versus the quarterback play.
44:03Brees Hall has played with, uh, throughout his career.
44:05So I feel good about that. So Sean, you membu just run between, between, uh, the tackles, uh, right there.
44:11And then I think, I still think that Brees Hall is a really good player.
44:15And I think the environment's been so bad. Like this seems like can be like the last year where we can draft him.
44:21Uh, and as the jets get better, he's going to be like a second round pick for the next couple of seasons.
44:27Yeah. You almost have to decide. Do you think the jets or the Cardinals are misprojected, uh, across the league?
44:32If you get one of those right, then you're probably going to have a good season because both teams have, we know
44:38about Brees Hall and Garrett Wilson, however they go.
44:41And then all four of the Cardinals, um, I might be leading the jets in that regard, like this offensive line and
44:47just what they've have the infrastructure for it is, is so good.
44:50Whereas, you know, there were 29th in touchdowns per game last year, 29th in red zone drives per game, 31st in red zone touchdown success rate.
44:57I mean, inching closer to in a bunch of those areas, just a league average is going to lead to really, really good things.
45:03A Brees Hall who, you know, the play caller and the beat writers have all called a bell cow.
45:08I saw season. I've been drafting both of those players over the receivers and round three.
45:13And then in round four or five, I feel pretty good about getting two wide receivers.
45:17So if you're picking like a Puka team, a Jamar chase team early on, I think that you want to prioritize these
45:23backs and then figure out wide receivers in the next round.
45:26Next is Kyron Williams. He's both of our running back 15, even though on the show, we just had, uh, players that we disagree on most.
45:33I think Kyron rooms on there. I think that goes into his overall ranking.
45:37I have him 29th overall right now. And I think you're a bit lower than that.
45:41Yeah. Just a little bit like 32nd overall. He's, he's kind of right in that, that, that mix.
45:46So 73% of the touchdowns last season for the Rams were passing.
45:49That's the fourth, fourth highest rate in the league.
45:52I think that'll naturally come down this year. Despite that, Tyron still finishes the running back 11 and points per game.
45:57We know he just continuously gets the ball inside the five yard line, inside the 10 yard line, third most resident scores
46:03on the fifth most resident carries inside the 10 last year.
46:06And, uh, yeah, I mean, he's finished second, first and third and fancy points scored in the red zone over the last three seasons.
46:13And I understand that Blake Corham finished the season playing about 33% of the snaps in those games, but I'll still take
46:19the guy playing 67% of the snaps on arguably the best offense in the league.
46:23Yeah, totally fair. Uh, I think it's a little bit fragile, um, because Blake Corham's there and maybe the Rams aren't scoring
46:2931 points per game, but they're scoring 26 points per game.
46:32And like, that is still a difference that we have to find touchdowns over, um, 65% carry share inside the five yard line last year.
46:39That was a 58% carry share on all the other runs.
46:42I just think that Blake Corham's good. And like, is this going to be a thorn in his side?
46:47I will say we're just kind of drafting him like where he's like baseline is.
46:51And if Corham does go down, like that's where Kyron really completely takes off to probably to a range where brief haulers
46:57like can't get to because it's the jets versus the, the Rams there.
47:00So I think that's where I kept going back to it.
47:03Like this seems like kind of like the T Higgins discussion where like, this is pretty much like where he should be
47:09drafted, but there is that scenario and like 10, 20% of seasons where his backup goes down with an injury and now he's like a first round pick.
47:17So I think that he's a totally fine late round three player.
47:20Um, but of all the guys like Blake Corham, I do things like a real player.
47:24These next six or so guys, this is where we agree on after having so much disagreement on the, you know, previous 14 players.
47:31Uh, next is Javante Williams. You really love Javante Williams price tag all summer long.
47:35Yep. I got them as a clear round three player.
47:38I feel even better about that. It's Malik Davis behind them.
47:41Jaden blue got waved. Um, and he cleared waivers.
47:43Like he's like, he might not even be in the NFL for, for too long.
47:47And like the coaches were calling him lazy. It's like, no one should be surprised by that.
47:52Uh, but the fact is it's Malik Davis and like probably somebody they're going to like claim.
47:56It's like Marty Mercado. They picked up. Perfect. Perfect.
47:59So like it's, it's nobody like they signed Javante Williams this season or this off season because he had a successful season last year.
48:05He's not going to catch a zillion passes. I'm ready for 12 touchdowns because the Cowboys are going to be awesome.
48:11And guess what? It can even be a lot higher than 12 touchdowns because you know, people like Nate ties, for example,
48:17think it could be the best offense in the league.
48:20I love the, the, the play calling. I love the offensive line.
48:23They keep adding depth pieces behind it. Dak Prescott's going to go crazy to me.
48:27It's just like you talk about chase Brown's environment.
48:29Like Javante Williams environment is to me just as good.
48:32He's not going to catch nearly as many passes.
48:34That's why there's a discount by a full round or so.
48:37But Javante Williams is going to catch or he's going to go into the, uh, the end zone a bunch this year.
48:43And I feel very, very rock solid about that.
48:46Yeah. Just the receiving point. Um, 35 catches for 137 yards, uh, last year.
48:50And it's kind of been that way the last few seasons.
48:53All right. Travis HN is our running back 17.
48:55Uh, there's a lot to talk about here. Obviously he made the jump over to new Orleans fastest paced team in the league with Kellen Moore.
49:02They are trying to shore up for their five starting offensive linemen.
49:05I will say Hayden, despite us having him in the exact same spot.
49:09I do have some negative thoughts about Travis HN in that hit me.
49:12No player in fancy football benefited from turnovers more than he did.
49:16Um, per reads, HN had the most fancy points scored when the drive started in the opposing side of the field at 82.
49:22The next closest running back was John and Taylor at 52.
49:25And then again, some of the per carry metrics were like 24th and 30th in terms of yards per carry and success
49:31rate after the week eight by last year. And he failed to gain yards on a leak high 26% of his attempts over that span.
49:37I can just spin zone that and be like, this is a way better offensive line.
49:42And he was already the RB 11 when the, he was, didn't have any of the third down work because that was Laquan Allen.
49:48And he was losing some touches to, to Basial Tootin and he was still getting home because he's a rock solid player.
49:54Um, and I just think that the saints, it's like a quiet, awesome environment.
49:58The offensive line is way better than Jacksonville. I would say it's like a fringe top 10, one in new Orleans and think Jacksonville is like for sure.
50:06Bottom five ish. Uh, and that's been the case.
50:08And, uh, he's still just performed almost 1400 total yards in three of his four NFL seasons.
50:13Um, he's been dealing with like Doug Peterson and like those types out there.
50:16So it has not been pretty for him. Uh, he just has to do what he did last year to completely pay off.
50:23And I think that's very likely. It's like Alvin Kamara coming off a knee injury.
50:27It's Audrick estimate. It's Kendry Miller. They just paid him a lot of money this off season.
50:31Um, so I feel very good about him to the point I'm surprised by this, but he's my highest drafted player.
50:37I've done like 180 drafts based on listening to you all summer long.
50:40Yeah. I draft him in the fourth round all the time.
50:43So my, my, my ADP on him is 38th overall.
50:46Um, I think that's a very fair price tag, especially when you're like, you're not drafting Josh Jacobs there, uh, anymore.
50:52So it's, it's, it's Travis H and I feel very good about his four.
50:56I'm fricking pumped to draft Deandre Swift this season.
50:58Um, we know from week six on last year after the buy, he was running back nine and points per game.
51:04They really figured out what to do with him.
51:06I mean, he produced a run of 10 or more yards on 13 and a half percent of his runs, which ranks sixth in the league.
51:13Um, common on guy seems to be banged up heading into the season.
51:17And that's maybe one of the more under discussed storylines.
51:19Some beat writers even suggested maybe we get an IR return designation for him as well.
51:24And if that's the case, like Roshan Johnson isn't in the same zip code as common on guy and Deandre Swift would
51:30just get more and more and Hayden, I might move him a couple spots above if we do find that out here.
51:36Yeah. I got him 40th overall. He's been someone that I was like drafting at like 52nd overall all the time.
51:41And then he's just surpassed a bunch of the wide receivers in that range.
51:45To me, he's passed. Cam Scaddle clearly passed Josh Jacobs.
51:48I think that he's just becoming more and more intriguing.
51:51He's also one of these players like Kyron Williams where we're drafting him like in his baseline outcome last year, he was
51:56half PPRs RB 15 on RB 18 usage. The bears were ninth in scoring per game.
52:01There's a chance like that, even in the same exact split that goes up because the bears are just better.
52:06I mean, they're fricking head coach things. They might set the scoring record in the NFL this season.
52:11Um, and then like you said, if Monunga misses parts of the season, which that did not happen last year, Deandre Swift
52:17could easily be a top 12 running back this year.
52:20Like that's like, that is not even a hot take whatsoever.
52:23I think he's one of the best picks on the board.
52:26And I think that if you can get them in like the late round four, after you're drafting some receivers early on,
52:32like to me, that is like how you can build a super team.
52:35Uh, but I think that he should be going early in round four at this point.
52:40Yeah. If you draft your March Ace and Pukunukua with a third or fourth pick, and then you're struggling to get running
52:45backs in rounds two and round three, uh, Deandre Swift in round four is like an ideal pick.
52:50Yes. Just tough because some of those wide receivers in round four are delightful.
52:54On top of it, but we'll have our wide receiver rankings here on the channel tomorrow.
52:58Next cam Scadaboo. How should people be handling cam Scadaboo and this, uh, four person backfield for the giants this season?
53:04I think all four are going to be active.
53:07This is what the, uh, Ravens were doing with Harbaugh when they had Derek fricking Henry on the field.
53:12We're going to figure out who's going to play some special teams.
53:15Maybe Tyron Tracy gets released or traded or something like that.
53:18But I think then the Najee Harris signing does matter a little bit.
53:21Um, I think it mostly points to, you know, single Terry and Tyron Tracy.
53:25And there's obviously some familiarity with Greg Roman and Najee Harris as well.
53:29It's a little bit of a threat to cam Scadaboo.
53:31If the like cam Scadaboo is like just really not having a good season, then I think they would turn in Najee Harris.
53:38But I think their plan is get cam Scadaboo the ball a ton this year.
53:42He's much better than Najee Harris at this point.
53:44Uh, if he has a setback or cam Scadaboo, uh, just gets injured again, which like definitely could happen.
53:49Uh, then I think that Najee Harris become a little bit more annoying.
53:53So I pretty much flipped Swift and cam Scadaboo and my overall rankings.
53:56So it was like, I was drafting cat cam Scadaboo before, um, Najee, like 42nd overall.
54:01And now I have cam Scadaboo 52nd overall where I was drafting Deandre Swift.
54:04I feel good about that kind of swap, but I don't want to completely bury cam Scadaboo.
54:09He catches the ball. He is the goal line back.
54:12The team wants to run the ball. They drafted a guard 10th overall.
54:15Like there's, there's, there is an upside case with cam Scadaboo still.
54:19Yeah. It was on my radar that beat writers expressed that the giants were looking to make a big splash at running
54:24back basically all season long, whether they can Walker or Jeremiah love and that didn't happen.
54:29And then the only thing that they did make a move for was Najee Harris.
54:33And then, you know, some of the viewers like Jordan Ryan have said that he is going to play an important role on this team too.
54:40So it's just, I think it's tough to know exactly that that's not exactly how a team moves when they are so
54:46focused and invested on, you know, one ball carrier in their second year, like Kim Scadaboo.
54:50But again, he's coming off a significant injury on top of that.
54:53I will say he was the RB nine and RB 15 usage when he went down.
54:58So like, and that team was like, not very good.
55:00Like there's a chance that he can have that level of workload.
55:04The team gets a little bit better. Like he is one of these guys that like a bold prediction of him being
55:10the RB 10 this year, I think is like a still within the range of outcomes.
55:14I do think that now you might be a little bit annoying though.
55:18This is another cluster that is very important to get correct.
55:20Kim Scadaboo to I'll call it the running back 24 that we'll talk about that point.
55:25So keep that in mind. They go very close in drafts together and each of these arguments, you might find, you know,
55:31something to latch onto, to change our rankings or draft them just like this.
55:35That brings us to Quinn Sean Judkins next to, I would argue was the best rookie runner in the NFL last season.
55:41Yeah. It sucks that he's on the Cleveland Browns.
55:43Now I could also say that with the Cleveland Browns, there could be coach better this year with Todd Munkin.
55:48They could have a better offensive line after all the investments that they made.
55:52And that also could lead to a worse season for Quinn Sean Judkins because the defense was so freaking good last year
55:58that it kept them in games that they really shouldn't have been kept in like the Bengals and the Packers and these
56:04other teams down to like 12 to eight points.
56:06Not so stuff that this version of this Browns defense might not allow Quinn Sean Judkins to have as many fourth quarter touches.
56:13I think that's all fair. I think that he is going to have trouble hitting like a complete ceiling, but I do
56:19feel like that his floor is like pretty solid because he's really awesome.
56:22And he's going to get every goal line carry last year, 31 of 35 running back carries inside the five yard line
56:28or inside the red zone went to Quinn Sean Judkins.
56:31He's much better, bigger than Dylan Sampson, who I do like as a change of pace, but it's, it's light, light years different between the tackles.
56:38I think that his vision, his burst is exceptional.
56:40Um, he did face the highest rate of eight plus defenders inside the box at 45% according to next gen stats.
56:46So like everything's working against him last year with the same exact situation, terrible offensive line, terrible, uh, defenders in the box.
56:52He was the RB 23 on RB 17 usage.
56:54That seems about right. Um, I'm kind of like, just, I don't love drafting running backs in this kind of round five
57:00range because I'm just struggling to see like either the floor or the ceiling.
57:04And that's where I like, I keep prioritizing like players like, uh, Travis H and Javante Williams and Kyron Brees hall, those
57:10guys in round three, four, even though I liked those receivers, because I think that we can really like squint and, and,
57:16and it's hard to find like a clear path to like a huge ceiling with these guys.
57:21Yeah. If somehow, some way the Browns shock the world and are a half decent team this season, then Quinn charge, I
57:27can just have a massive, massive year. But again, yeah.
57:29Get the Bengals to 17 Packers attend Dolphins to six Raiders to 10 Steelers to six and Bengals to 18 points.
57:35There were a number of occasions where like, it was close to the scoreboard in the third quarter.
57:40I'm like, how? Oh, it's because miles Garrett and company on the opposite side.
57:44So, uh, just not the case anymore. And an elite play caller on defense deal gone.
57:48Jadarian price is our running back 21. I love this.
57:51A player I've talked more and more and more about as this month has gone along.
57:55I mean, so much focus on a split backfield with George Halani.
57:58To me, it's not going to be a split backfield as rigid as it was last year when Ken Mark the third
58:04got the team inside the red zone. When they gave, you know, Zach Charbonnet 65% of the touches.
58:09I think Jadarian price has a chance of huge games with Zach Charbonnet out.
58:13And now that we know that Zach Charbonnet is going to be out for at least four games, this could be a
58:19really hot start and maybe even more here for Jadarian price who I've loved drafting this month.
58:23So the Charbonnet, uh, PUP list was not surprising to me, but we also did get their general manager saying that it
58:29was like not even a question that he was going to start, uh, on the PUP list, which like to me makes
58:35sense looking at the timeline and the human species.
58:38Like he's probably not going to come back until between Halloween.
58:41Massive February surgery. Yes. It's insane that people thought that he was going to start, uh, the season, um, for price.
58:46I do think that matters because he can run away with this thing, uh, early on where Charbonnet is going to be coming in just a little bit.
58:54And I do think the big problem with Kenneth Walker last year was that he was going to lose the, the passing situation for past protection reasons.
59:01And I think price will do the same this year, but the real problem was just Charbonnet coming in at the goal line.
59:07I do not think that they're going to enter in whole Lonnie or Emmanuel Wilson at the goal and over Jadarian price.
59:13Like to me, that is the difference between the Kenneth Walker role last year and what the Jadarian price role is this year.
59:20I also think that the new offensive coordinator, we don't know a whole lot about him, but just reading about his back
59:26backstory and how Mike McD and Mike McDonald found him.
59:28I feel pretty confident about that mystery box. Um, and Jadarian price was, I think a solid player, not my favorite player,
59:34but it's an awesome, awesome situation to be on literally the first round pick on the defending Superbowl champions.
59:39And like the guys that are his backup are making like $1 million this year.
59:43So I feel good about it. I mean, just for example, Zach Charbonnet had more redstone carries in the regular season than
59:49Josh Jacobs, John Drew, Swift, Saquon Barkley, Chase Brown, all these guys, David Montgomery, all these guys, um, and scored 11 touchdowns on those 50 carries.
59:56So if he doesn't come back for like half of the season, only score six, guess who gets more and more and more of those opportunities.
60:03It's Jadarian price. Like I'm, I'm also just banging against the guy, like being back to as good as he was, last year off that massive surgery.
60:11Of course not. You know, so it's been tough to say that because there's been so much optimism of Zach Charbonnet coming back.
60:17Um, but I, I feel good about my, my, the prices I've been able to draft Jadarian price on recently.
60:22Yeah, exactly. Nine months is week 11 from the February 20th surgery for, for Sharpen.
60:26I keep that in mind, by the way, Josh, something, uh, the betting markets have Jadarian price at five and a half rushing touchdowns this year.
60:34Like I might like that, like as a prop play even more than, uh, drafting him in fantasy.
60:38That just, that just seems too low. Next is David Montgomery.
60:41Um, Texans were 29th in red zone touchdown rate last season, despite being 18th in red zone drives.
60:46Uh, Hayden, they brought in Dave Montgomery for a reason.
60:49You and I though are slightly under market here on David Montgomery.
60:52Um, but there are pros and cons to talk about here.
60:55Yeah. I think that David Montgomery is a fine player approaching the age cliff.
60:59And I do worry that he could get typecast into somebody that always needs somebody next to him because he's not been
61:05like that bell cow bell cow for a very long time.
61:08And when he was, he was not an efficient player in that.
61:11That was a long time ago. Um, and I think that Woody marks is going to be, uh, somebody that the Texans
61:17are internally rooting for because he's their younger player who can spell him on passing situations.
61:21He was awesome in pass protection, caught a bunch of passes as a rookie, caught a bunch of passes, uh, in college as well.
61:28So I do think that it's going to be like a one, a one B David Montgomery is light years, uh, ahead
61:34of Woody marks in terms of like goal line share.
61:37Uh, and that's why he's still going to hold on as like an RB two RB three for me, but I don't
61:43see like Joe Mixon top 10 in touches, uh, outcomes for David Montgomery.
61:46I think that Woody marks is a good compliment to him.
61:49The money is way different between Joe Mixon and what, uh, David Montgomery got.
61:53I think that Joe Mixon's career is just a lot years better than what David Montgomery has been able to produce.
61:58Uh, and I still have the same exact worries about the offensive line.
62:02Like it's a bunch of new players. They're banged up.
62:05They're changing positions. They were let go for, for reasons.
62:07And there were resigned for low, low dollars. Like I think this, a new offensive line that will still probably rank 29th.
62:13This is just the typical dead zone running back profile where everything is about volume.
62:17The crux of the argument is just about opportunity that he's going to get.
62:21And we can kind of chip away at some of that already.
62:24I think with how good of a training camp and preseason Woody marks has had some of the beat writers saying that
62:30Woody marks is going to play a valuable role in this offense.
62:34So if you think that Dave Montgomery still has a lot of juice left, go for it.
62:38Cause I know there's a lot of people out there that disagree with us, but I do just want to state that
62:44some of my concerns here for team want in this offense.
62:47Bucky Irving is next and he's one Hayden again, based on what's happened this month, I've had some internal conversations on in that.
62:53I don't know how big of a part Sean Tucker is going to play on this team.
62:58And so if it is just Bucky Irving and Kenny Gainwell, I know like the clear linear skillset that Kenny Gainwell has.
63:04And if Bucky is doing all the rest of stuff behind arguably the best offensive line in the NFL, I'm taking more and more pieces of Bucky recently.
63:12I would say Bucky Irving has the widest range of outcomes over like the last couple of backs that we've talked about because the offensive line is awesome.
63:19He's done it before two years ago. He was awesome behind a healthy version of the offensive line that was top five in points.
63:26Now, I don't think that bucks are ever going to get back to top five in points.
63:30Like, I think that was like a very clear, like Liam Cohen thing.
63:34That was also like Mike Evans and Chris Godwin were, were out there for, for a large chunks of those seasons.
63:39Uh, Bucky had a very bad season last year.
63:42And I think that Sean Tucker part of this stuff like actually does matter.
63:46Like not because Sean Tucker is going to score a bunch of touchdowns here, but there's just the threat of it because
63:52when he did come back from injury last year, he did not get any of the inside of the five yard line
63:58work that went all to Sean Tucker. Sean Tucker signed like a weird tender this off season where it's like three and a half million dollars non-guaranteed.
64:05He went through training camp. He was mixing in as the RB three, sometimes as the RB four, there was a competition.
64:11Ultimately the buck said, we're going to give you a guaranteed contract of $2.5 million.
64:15Take a $1 million off your non-guaranteed money in exchange for two and a half guaranteed dollars.
64:19That sounds like a pay cut. He's not involved.
64:22I would read that as like two and a half million dollars for your RB three is like, that just doesn't happen in the NFL.
64:29That's like more money than like Isaiah Pacheco and Samaj AP Ryan and, uh, some Rashad white, for example, like that's like low end RB two money.
64:36I think Sean Tucker is going to have some level of a role.
64:39Otherwise, like that's like a weird use of two and a half million dollars.
64:43Um, and he is by far the biggest guy in the backfield.
64:46So if Bucky Irving doesn't get the goal line work bust, if Bucky Irving gets the goal line work, he's going to be a home run.
64:54Uh, I think that he'll probably lose some reps and get enough touchdowns to kind of be fine as like a low end RB two.
65:00Patriot is next as the running back 24 here.
65:03Uh, I am hoping that Patriot gets the majority of work or most of the work in the first couple of weeks.
65:09I think he's going to get the first crack at it.
65:12Uh, I mean, we almost need to have this conversation with Chris Rodriguez and where we rank him a bit later on too.
65:18Uh, it didn't love some of Liam Cohen's comments of, Hey, we are hunting up efficiency for six, eight, 10 yards over and over and over again.
65:25Because if you look at every, you know, efficient and successful rushing mark, Chris Rodriguez is near the top.
65:30However, if you just dig a couple of spots below, Baytel Tootin is right there.
65:34I'll be at Baytel Tootin had, you know, less opportunity to do so.
65:38So I just went back and watched a bunch of his carries.
65:41If he just didn't trip over his damn feet, you would have a lot more even success on top of that.
65:47So I'm just hoping for a year to jump here, year to leap, you know, Liam Cohen rushing attack.
65:52I'll be at some questions around this offensive line.
65:54Liam Cohen's awesome. Baytel Tootin is a great athlete.
65:57The offense could be top five, top 10 in scoring this year.
66:00There's absolutely a path to upside. I will say by far, he has the lowest floor of anybody running back we've talked about.
66:06I mean, just like there's a chance a day three player who was not all that efficient last year, just is not going to get enough touches.
66:14And like, there's also a chance that he's the explosive trap back where he's not going to play the passing situations.
66:19He'll catch enough passes, but not like be out there and catching 50, 60, 70 passes in the season.
66:24And then Chris Rodriguez is going to be the goal linebacker.
66:27Like we've seen that in training camp already multiple occasions.
66:30It's what John Shipley projects. Like he is the guy that I worry about the most that he has to actually be
66:36good to like pay off this, this ADP, because if he's not going to catch that many passes, he's not going to
66:42score that many touchdowns, then it is kind of hard to be a top 24 running back.
66:47So I've been lower on him. And I've been drafting a lot more Chris Rodriguez and half PPR.
66:51If he's really awesome, he can be a hit.
66:54I just think it's asking kind of a lot to thread this needle.
66:57Next is the Patriots backfield. We have Ramondra Stevenson ahead as our running back 25 and then Trivion Henderson behind him as the running back 26.
67:04We've said this a hundred times, but Ramondra Stevenson is going to be this team's running back one.
67:09He's going to get the first carry. He's going to be out there in the first series.
67:14I am an Hendo optimist when it comes to his big play potential.
67:17I hope he can improve in some obvious areas from last season, but I do think the market has just got this
67:23one wrong of drafting Trivion Henderson ahead of Ramondra Stevenson.
67:26I agree. I've got 12% Ramondra 1% Travion, but the ADPs are coming close to together to the point where I've seen
67:32Travion go after Ramondra and I would gladly take Travion in like round six, seven.
67:36Like at that turn, I think that's where I'm not sure if I have a starter on my hand that I'm drafting.
67:42I don't feel great about the wide receivers in that range.
67:45And I would just hope for the best with Travion because he is proven explosive.
67:49We knew he was going to be explosive. I do think that he can offer a lot more as a receiver, the pass protection.
67:56At least I watched him in college be able to do it.
67:59So I'm not like, it's very shocking to me that he's been this horrific at it.
68:03And then the offense is, is, is very good with Drake May.
68:06So like, I want to round up for him, but I have to be price sensitive to this point.
68:12I've not drafted him a ton, but if he's like what the 67th, 70th player overall, like I think that's where it becomes a lot more intriguing.
68:19I think that that 20 spot gap in ADP, like that, that's a pretty substantial tier break.
68:23Um, and I'm waiting to draft more of him soon.
68:26He is, uh, cause right now on Yahoo 63rd overall Hendo is going and then we're Monday is going 75th.
68:32But as soon as we're Monday goes off the board, if you're in one of these leagues and Hendo is there, he
68:38will be my next running back that I'm selecting.
68:40Um, that's not necessarily the case for you because I would sit here and say that Jalen Warren might be the player
68:46of the summer for you compared to the market.
68:48He's your running back 24. Here he sits as our running back 27.
68:52Give it to the people again. Why do you love Jalen Warren this season?
68:56I think he's a great fit with what McCarthy wants to do.
68:59It's more of a pass, uh, first offense. Um, and we saw what happened last year with Aaron Rogers, who wants to
69:05throw the ball underneath to his backs, Bucky, uh, or not Bucky.
69:08Um, uh, let me do that again. Three, two, one.
69:11We saw last year with Aaron Rogers when Kenny Gainwell was the team MVP.
69:15He caught a million passes. Uh, Jalen Warren was still a very productive player.
69:18Warren was the RB 20 per game and RB 21 usage, uh, in full PPR.
69:22Kenny Gainwell is the RB 26 on RB 25 usage.
69:25So both of these guys got home at this price tag.
69:28I think there's a lower floor with Rico Dowdle than other people are, uh, believe, uh, just because it's a player who's not paid that much money.
69:35It's $5 million guaranteed. He's changing teams. Once again, he's gotten hot.
69:39Like no one's like really wanted to commit to him for, for long stretches of time.
69:43Like even last year, Chuba Hubbard, like stole his job back from Rico Dowdle.
69:47Once again, I'm just like looking at it. Rogers wants to throw the ball to his running backs.
69:52I think that Warren's clearly better in that situation.
69:54I think that Warren, uh, had at least enough, um, pop to his game where they can mix them in at the goal line.
70:01I think that's going to like really settle this thing.
70:03Like if Rico Dowdle is going to get all the goal line touches, Jalen Warren's not going to matter if it's like 50 50 at the goal line.
70:11I do think that Jalen Warren's going to be an awesome flex play.
70:14Yeah. I just look over the last few years and Jalen Warren has been maybe the least efficient carrier ball carry inside the red zone so far.
70:22So if that changes this year with improvements in the offensive line, that would be great.
70:26But, uh, yeah, he's one of the least efficient ball carriers and goal scoring situations right now.
70:31Let's have the Packers, Marshawn Lloyd, Josh Jacobs conversation because our duo rankings here have Marshawn Lloyd as the 28th overall running back.
70:37I'm at running back 25. Five you're at running back 32.
70:40So, Hey, just overall, what are the facts here?
70:42So Josh Jacobs on the commissioner's exemplist, which is pretty much whatever Roger Goodell wants to do.
70:47There's some precedent that, uh, he could be back around the six, seven game suspension.
70:51Uh, Jubile peppers was like the most recent example in 2024.
70:54Mike Hall was also another example, uh, similar cases.
70:56And those players were on paid leave before the court cases were settled.
71:00Uh, and then after like the sixth, seventh game of the season, which is the baseline for the personal conduct policy, those guys come off the commissioner's exemplist.
71:07Roger Goodell later finds those guys for games back to get that money back.
71:11And pretty much like it's a suspension before the legal case plays out.
71:15And that's kind of what they're doing with domestic violence.
71:17Most recently. Now, if you go all the way back to the Adrian Peterson, Michael Vick days, that was a completely different
71:23era, but they did treat this differently. So we don't know what's going to happen.
71:27I'm my guess would be Josh Jacobs is going to be out around six to seven, eight games.
71:32And then there's the component of what's on this video.
71:35If the video is really, really bad, there's a chance.
71:38Josh Jacobs never plays NFL ever again. There's, uh, the complaint, uh, had at least some of the altercation on video.
71:43I'm not sure if Roger Goodell and the investigative team at the NFL has seen this.
71:48I don't know if TMZ is going to all of a sudden leak this.
71:52I don't know exactly what's on that video, but, uh, public perception does matter here.
71:56So I think that it's at least going to be six games to me.
71:59And there's a chance that it's the entire season.
72:02I think the most likely outcome, I just watched James Pierce fight cops and he tried to run over his girlfriend and run away.
72:08That was all on video as well. And he's going to be out for eight games.
72:13Um, I think most teams, like the Packers already said that, that they expect Josh Jacobs to be a Packer this season.
72:19Most teams accept their players coming back from the suspension.
72:21I think that's the most likely outcome here. But it is not the only outcome.
72:25I think there is definitely a chance that Marshawn Lloyd could be the seasons or the Packers running back for the entire season.
72:32It just depends on that video. Yeah. The other part of this is there's a hearing for Josh Jacobs on what?
72:37November 10th, I believe. And a lot of people are using that as that's the earliest he can return.
72:42It doesn't seem like that's the case at all.
72:45Um, they can just bypass any, you know, legal timeline, legal schedule, and just make a declaration of how long he's going to be, uh, in or out.
72:52Uh, this is also a tricky subject to talk about.
72:55And we're talking fancy football when like, we're talking about legal cases on top of this.
72:59But again, this is important to all of you.
73:02Um, Drew Davenport hadn't, I found an interesting perspective on it.
73:05He's a practicing defense attorney that flatly, the two misdemeanor charges were kind of lower than expected based on everything that's been said.
73:11And then apparently a video existing with this. So then he questioned, why did the NFL decide to place him on the
73:17list that quick after the charges were lower than expected that perhaps they have more information than we do?
73:22Um, there's something in the unknown, like then maybe they have seen the video on top of it.
73:27Right. And if that's the case, like in most times, as you said, the NFL kind of lets the legal system play
73:33out, but they don't have to, they can make the decision whenever they want to.
73:37And so I don't know what the unknown is.
73:39I don't know if it is just going to be six to eight games.
73:43Um, that can be your call out there or even four games.
73:47But I guess my perspective is I'm not certain he plays this season.
73:50And I kind of placed him, Josh Jacobs in the area of the draft where if he doesn't play it down, it won't impact me at all.
73:57And I put in Marshawn Lloyd with the idea that he is at least going to start six games this season.
74:03And it would be after this. Remondre Stevenson, Trevion Henderson area.
74:06And this is where it's like in the complete gray area.
74:09We're just like completely guessing at this point. But if I would guess that the district attorney's also seen the video.
74:15So like if they decided to only misdemeanors, I would like kind of assume that like what's on video is probably lines
74:21up with what they're charging him for. And the NFL doesn't have more information than the district attorney's office.
74:26So to me, like the easiest thing would be there's something on this video.
74:30It will probably see it and it'll probably fall under the domestic violence policy, which is a six game suspension by the
74:35NFL and the Packers are trying to win a Superbowl.
74:38And they will probably welcome him back. Now, if there's the outcome where this crazy stuff is on video and he's out of the league absolutely exist.
74:45I have Josh Jacobs as like my running back 28.
74:48I would draft him in like the 80s, 90s.
74:51That's definitely taking on some risk. Um, so like it just depends on how you want to play fantasy football.
74:56And then I have Marshawn Lloyd inside my top 100.
74:59I have a head of, I have him ahead of like Blake Corham because Blake Corham's like trying to get starts as an awesome, um, handcuff.
75:06Uh, and Marshawn Lloyd, it does seem like he's going to get the first six ish games to, to play that thing out.
75:12And then there's Caleb Johnson, who's apparently going to be working in next to Marshawn Lloyd.
75:16But like traded for a conditional seventh. So obviously there wasn't much investment in there, but Caleb Johnson would have just gotten cut by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
75:24The thing with Marshawn Lloyd is it's not like we know anything about him, you know, he has a handful of touches in the NFL and that's it.
75:31And more preseason work than he ever has actual NFL game stuff.
75:34And while he's had a cool angle route and maybe a couple of other nice plays, I haven't been wowed by him either.
75:41So again, I don't know if this is one of these scenarios where it turns into, oh, this guy's going to be
75:47a top 12 scoring running back no matter what, maybe we get to week two and he is, you know, but, um,
75:53I, I'm still uncertain of, of who Marshawn Lloyd is as an NFL talent right now.
75:57And I think that's important to talk about. And that's why I brought up Caleb Johnson, because when I was listening to
76:03the Packers reporters, they were saying they can't give Marshawn Lloyd 20 touches per game like they would have with Josh Jacobs.
76:09Like that's just like asking too much for the injury history and the unknown and that they think that Caleb Johnson is going to get touches right away.
76:16And that Chris Brooks is going to be in that pass protection role.
76:20And that Lloyd versus Caleb Johnson is an actual thing.
76:23Uh, I would give Marshawn Lloyd, obviously the, the huge like incumbent, uh, um, leg up over Caleb Johnson, but like, this
76:29is not like if Blake, if Kyron Williams was suspended where Blake Corham, you can for sure draft him really high.
76:34I think there is still some uncertainty with Marshawn Lloyd.
76:37Awesome. If you've already have them on your team, he will be a top 25 running back in week one for me.
76:43Uh, but this is not like he's automatically gonna be a top 12 running back like Josh Jacobs was.
76:48Yeah. And the overall take is we just expect the Packers to throw more.
76:52So that's why you've been drafting a bunch of Christian Watson and Matthew Golden this season.
76:56Big time. Big time. Yeah. We'll talk about it.
76:59I have Josh Jacobs as my running back 44.
77:01So I'm just much lower than you on him.
77:03Okay. Next is Jonathan Brooks. I mean, it feels like we've had this conversation, but let's have it again.
77:09Uh, I am happy to see him on the field.
77:11I am nervous about the Panthers running the football this year.
77:14However, the Panthers, even when they're good and bad, they run the football a lot.
77:18And I'm just buying into the fact that, uh, there is a pathway for Jonathan Brooks.
77:23If he gets back to close to the talent buddy previously was, uh, he will just overtake Chuba Hubbard in this back.
77:29So I have, uh, Chuba Hubbard ahead of Jonathan Brooks.
77:31It's close. And then you, you have this the inverse, but it's still fairly close.
77:35I would put them in the same tier. I have no idea what to do with Jonathan Brooks.
77:40Uh, I'm not working under the assumption that he's going to be as good at football as he was as the prospect.
77:46I will, I will say that there's nothing about this preseason.
77:49I'm saying like, there goes one of the best running backs in the league.
77:53It's been like, you know, very mediocre results, uh, between the tackles, not the best run blocking.
77:58Pass protection has been an issue. Uh, I do believe Canales when he says we're going to have a base down back
78:04and then the third down complimentary back. I was reading into that as Chuba is probably the early down guy and that Jonathan Brooks will spell him.
78:11That's up for debate. I think that Canales is going to let the results from the in the season stuff play out.
78:17I don't think that Chuba Hubbard's a total pushover like others are, uh, kind of believe him to be.
78:22He's been a top 12 running back in fantasy before he's been very efficient, uh, back in that 2024 season.
78:27Um, and he's a team captain beloved signed a long-term contract, scored two touchdowns in the playoff game this last, uh, uh, post season as well.
78:34So, you know, take, take a shot here, but I still think that the upside is pretty limited because, you know, uh,
78:40the Panthers do make me a little bit nervous on offense.
78:43Yeah. I mean, I will say, do you even need to take a shot here?
78:47You know, like hopefully you have some running backs already at the helm in your offense and your team, and they're going
78:5385th and 86th overall right now on underdog. And, uh, there's just players, other positions, like my first quarterback, I'd rather take it.
79:00Correct. Right. Uh, the Jonathan Brooks in round six, round seven stuff is like absolutely not for me.
79:04Like I would say, I would say one of the worst clicks on the board.
79:08Uh, that one I've been drafting Chuba as he's fallen and then we'll see what happens.
79:13He's sounds like he's fully ready to go ahead of week one.
79:16And, um, if that injury had not happened in this off season, we lost zero fantasy points, by the way, with Chuba Hubbard's absence during, uh, August.
79:23Um, I think that we would have continued to been drafting Chuba Hubbard ahead of Jonathan Brooks.
79:28Um, so we'll see. JK Dobbins is next for us as running back 30.
79:32Uh, he's going to get the first crack of being the lead back on this team.
79:36He's not going to catch a lot of passes.
79:38Uh, they're going to dial stuff up in the red zone too for RJ Harvey.
79:43And, uh, you know, JK Dobbins always has a career year and is on pace for it until he doesn't.
79:48But, uh, yeah, I mean, it's one of those things Hayden where he just has like a certain section of the pie
79:54and while that can be great and that can turn, you know, the running back 30 into the running back 20 and points per game.
80:01I don't see how this turns into the running back 15 or 12.
80:04I completely agree. Last year, for example, he was really good.
80:07That offensive line was good. The team was like rock solid.
80:10He was the RB 25 and RB 29 usage through the first 10, uh, weeks of the season.
80:15If he repeats that as like the 90th to 100th overall pick, I think it's like a totally fine outcome for you.
80:21He's somebody that in half EPR would be like a recommended flex start, but I just don't see him just like completely breaking off this season.
80:28Um, $10 million guaranteed is a lot more than I was expecting.
80:31They, to me, fully, fully believe that he is their best rusher.
80:34I think that Jonah Coleman would be his early down replacement.
80:37If he goes down with an injury and an RG Harvey will be in that very defined on the 22 yard line,
80:43I'm getting a wheel route for a touchdown and then nothing else really matters.
80:47Okay. This is where you have Chuba Hubbard or we do as a unit as running back.
80:52No, this is correct. This is Chuba Hubbard here as running back 31.
80:55Uh, next that brings us to Tony Pollard as running back 32.
80:59I'll say this. One of the players that I wasn't drafting a lot of, but then maybe got even more of a
81:05negative opinion as we've gone on through this preseason where it seems to be like a drive to drive combination with him and Tajay Spears.
81:11Maybe that sticks in the regular season. Maybe it doesn't.
81:14And then I am just extremely concerned about this offense.
81:17Once it hits, you know, week one, not just the passing standpoint, but just overall offensive line.
81:21He was a running back 29 and running back 32 usage last season.
81:25That was when Tajay was not out there for a lot of that season.
81:29That was a really bad Titans team. I think they're going to remain really bad.
81:33It's one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL.
81:35I think that Cam Ward going into the season is one of the worst starting quarterbacks.
81:40And let's see if he proves me wrong in that take, but, uh, the preseason work and the way that they've talked
81:46about this backfield, it does make me think that it'll be some version of a drive for drive rotation that they think that both these players can play.
81:53At the goal line and catch passes. And that, you know, just rotate these guys back and forth.
81:58Tony Pollard. Uh, this is a contract season for him.
82:01Tajay Spears on a rookie deal. So I don't think that the Titans have like their long-term starting running back on this team.
82:07And I think they're going to treat it that way by just splitting up the backfield.
82:11Let's talk Bill Krosky merit as our running back 33 here.
82:14This was a player that I was drafting a lot of and still drafting decently of where he's going.
82:19He's going to be in the outside zone last year that they just didn't run enough for doing it more now.
82:25Um, per fancy points data, commanders were best in NFL and outside zone last year at 6.1 yards per carry bill led
82:31the team in the NFL overall in yards per carry and outside zone at 7.6.
82:35Uh, I understand that people got frustrated after he became a mean player last year and he didn't make good on maybe his draft slot.
82:42He did lead the team in basically every running back metric last season.
82:45And it would make sense that he gets better in year two, more comfortable.
82:49He didn't play during his final season of college football.
82:52Uh, and I think this is one of those players that in a vacuum could very much outperform of where he was being selected.
82:58However, the Laramie Tunsil injury is brutal, a nightmare.
83:01And then their center has been out almost all of camp.
83:04Yep. This could be one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL.
83:07Um, they're hoping Alec ready returns. Alec ready is a universally like one of the worst starting centers.
83:12Like that's what they're hoping. Yes. It's like, they're like, that's like, who's going to save like a below average injured center
83:18is like, who's supposed to save the day here.
83:21That's not a good situation. It's also a first time play caller to like maybe David Blau is awesome.
83:26Maybe David Blau is pathetic. We don't know that at all.
83:29Um, I think they're going to try to get Ja'Kory Krosky merit more involved as a receiver, but I think for the
83:35most part, that's going to be Rashad White's game.
83:37Rashad White's a little bit bigger. So, uh, I've been drafting this backfield a little bit, but I'm looking at my personal ADPs on them.
83:44It's at 108 overall, like as they get moved up too much, like I'm kind of out because I just don't see
83:50either one separating from me from the other. And I do have my concerns about the commander's offensive line.
83:55I do feel like just from a fancy football lens, you have to be in on one of these running backs after Marshawn Lloyd.
84:01Like one of them is going to do something.
84:04And if I have to be in on one of these guys, it probably is Bill Krosky merit for me.
84:09But, um, maybe that's wrong. Maybe they all just don't work.
84:12Yeah. I've been like waiting like another tier. Um, getting some of these like, you know, touchdown or bust guys, but yeah.
84:18Okay. Blake Corum is up next. I mean, we spoke at length about his and Kyron Williams combination.
84:23Uh, still about 33% of the touches in the final few games of last season, 33% of snaps, I should say, but
84:29he is one, not just in the handcuff potential.
84:32He has exceeded that because he has independent value on top of it.
84:35But two, if Kyron goes down, then you are looking at a certified top 12 runner for the rest of the season.
84:41Yeah. Last year, he still only averaged seven fancy points per game.
84:44So like, if you are starting him in your flex, like you probably have the worst flex.
84:49I mean, you can kind of get away with it during the bi-weeks, but I think for the most part, he's still mostly a strict handcuff to me.
84:56Um, that said, he's the best handcuff in, in the NFL.
84:59Like I wouldn't even call him a handcuff. Like, I don't know if he, he fits that definition.
85:04He's like somewhere, I would say somewhere in between.
85:07He's scoring more points than, you know, tank Bigsby on a per game basis.
85:10But if Blake Corum's in your starting lineup, like you're not winning your league.
85:14Right. So, but there are, I remember certain weeks when we do the running back ranking show, where if they have an
85:20easy opponent and they're favored by, you know, 12, then, oh yeah, you can have Bucky or excuse me, you can have like Corum in your flex.
85:28That's pretty good. Perfect. I'm looking at it. So the Panthers last year, week 13, he scores over 14 points.
85:33The Cardinals, he drops 26 and then the Lions, he drops 13.
85:36So like you, you can pick your, pick your spots with him.
85:39But, um, I think for the most part, he's like an awesome insurance player.
85:43We've talked about the Steelers backfield. Next up for us is Rico Dattle.
85:47Uh, it is on a radar that two or three of the beat writers have said that he is going to lead this backfield in touches.
85:54But, uh, we know that you are a Jalen Warren state.
85:57I guess so. Uh, Rico Dattle wears number 13.
85:59It's just throwing me off. Um, we'll see. He did have over 1100 yards with Mike McCarthy.
86:04Uh, the last time these two guys were together.
86:06This is where we had Josh Jacobs in combination, uh, joined our brains together and he's our running back 36.
86:12Next up is Rashad white. I think we've already discussed that one where he really is one of the worst true rushers.
86:18But, uh, if they throw their running backs, especially past protection, he's going to be out there on the field.
86:23And they did, uh, target him and value him and for agency on top of it.
86:27Anything you want to add here for Rashad? Only $2 million contract, but I think that he's like the guy that could
86:33absorb more work as everyone else kind of loses their job.
86:36He's there to like, you know, be a buoy.
86:39This is an interesting territory because if there's another name on this list that I think could hit in this area for
86:45me, it's Jordan Mason of the Minnesota Vikings, uh, was apparently a training camp stud and star.
86:49He is only a runner cannot catch a pass at all, but he is one of these players that in recent seasons,
86:55the Vikings back there has meant absolutely nothing. But if they throw less often inside the 10 yard line and run more
87:01than maybe he's our guy that can get nine, 10 rushing scores this year and be fancy relevant.
87:06I hope so. I think it's a little bit hard to make the math work.
87:10It's been such a pass heavy offense over the years.
87:13And I think that even with Kyle and Murray, they'll probably stick with that for the most part.
87:18Uh, and then in, in the preseason and it's only the preseason, but it was Mason and Jones like rotating back and
87:24forth where like Jones, I think was even the starter for it, uh, over Mason.
87:28And that's how they were last year. They played 11 fully healthy games together.
87:31Aaron Jones had 46% of the carries, uh, Mason had 34%.
87:34Um, so he has to be the goal line back or it's not going to matter.
87:39And then even that, then it's like, if he doesn't score a touchdown, like it's a completely waste of a start.
87:44So I've, I've wanted to like him more, but I just don't think that Kevin O'Connell is going to change his ways.
87:50And I think that Aaron Jones is going to like, he probably needs another guy next to him.
87:55And Aaron Jones fits that bill. Yeah. Again, the commanders might be like this.
87:59The Panthers might be like this. The Vikings might be like this, but now these backfields like really matter in the, yes.
88:05Um, also the beat writers have consistently said that Aaron Jones hits a wall at 150 touches like in unison, they've all said this together.
88:12So that's on my radar. A hundred percent. Okay.
88:14Chris Rodriguez is up next. We keep talking about touchdown scores.
88:17It is important for him to be next to Jordan Mason on this list.
88:21I think Chris Rodriguez out of all these names recently, like he's the one that I can actually squint and see like the top 20, um, fantasy season.
88:29Now it's going to require either to go down or to just completely falling on his face.
88:33I think that's like somewhat possible. Uh, and then Chris Rodriguez seems like he's going to be the goal line back over
88:39to the, and it's probably not gonna be a hundred percent of the time, but there's a pathway where Jacksonville is so good.
88:45And he just scores, you know, eight to 10 rushing touchdowns.
88:48Like that's enough to, to pass the, uh, pass the bar.
88:51Um, but there's that history with Liam Cohen here.
88:54And like you said, with the Tootin conversation, the, he wants efficiency.
88:57And then later on in that conversation, he literally, he said, how do I describe Chris Rodriguez efficient?
89:02I was like, that was curious what he's looking for in the backfield and how he describes Chris Rodriguez.
89:07So I think that he has, he's not priced.
89:09Like this is a backfield up for debate with Tootin versus Chris Rodriguez.
89:13I think it is, uh, I think it is a debate.
89:16So I've been drafting a whole lot more Chris Rodriguez than Tootin.
89:19Yeah. Interesting. Um, I'm higher than you on him.
89:22I haven't been as my running back 39. I think given this year running back 42, um, I, yeah, I would just
89:27please beg Liam Cohen to not have his expectations so low.
89:30He said we'd like basically have to totally rework our rushing identity.
89:34So just because the line stinks, he knows the line stinks.
89:37I mean, the line stinks, basically the line, they're going to be starting from 80% new spots this year.
89:42That's a, that's a big jump. Okay. Keaton Mitchell is next.
89:45We kind of already had this conversation, but, uh, I am hoping we get six to 10 touches from Keaton Mitchell on
89:51a given week compared to a two to six touches.
89:53It's Chris Rodriguez and Keaton Mitchell. These are my, my two sleepers for, for this year.
89:58Keaton Mitchell is totally opposite from Chris Rodriguez. I think he's going to catch some passes.
90:02If you look at the alignment in the preseason, you've seen the training camp clips, lots of wheel routes, like lots of
90:08him, like being kind of like detached at running back, super explosive players, super explosive offense.
90:12Um, we'll see what happens, but I think there's a, there's a pathway to him getting 10 touches per game and that like just might be enough.
90:20All right. Kalman on guy is next. What an awesome story he was last year.
90:24Actually a big win for us here on the channel, just kept earning and earning and earning more work.
90:29But, uh, there's some mystery around whatever he's dealing with right now.
90:32And just how healthy he is entering the season.
90:35Yep. He was like kind of like in the RB 30 mix.
90:38Um, like when he was like rotating drives with Deandre Swift, we'll see if that sticks.
90:42And just a great one, two punch with Swift.
90:45Like their running styles are kind of different. And when I'm guys still trying to, uh, pick up the passing game role as the season goes along too.
90:52Yep. Next is Kenny Gainwell. Apparently little Kenny Gainwell here on this traffic.
90:56Are you buying everything the Bucks are saying about Kenny Gainwell?
90:59Um, yes, I'm not convinced that it's actually going to translate to enough fancy points in this particular offense.
91:04Baker Mayfield and Aaron Rogers might play the position more differently than any two quarterbacks in the league at this point.
91:09Uh, plus the bucket years have way more guys to throw the ball to than what the Steelers had last season.
91:15So that's such a big thing because Kenny Gainwell last year was legitimately being used like Devon H.
91:20And in terms of downfield routes, no other running back is like that.
91:24And that's because they just had DK Metcalf and that's it.
91:27And now, you know, the Bucks have you met at Buka and Chris Godwin and Kate Otten and you know, these other
91:32young water series they have in the roster too.
91:35So I think what they're saying is true. Like they have a role for them.
91:39They paid them like very real money. It's $10 million guaranteed.
91:42Um, I'm just skeptical, like half PPR, how much that's actually going to translate.
91:46Like ask Baker Mayfield. He wants to throw swing passes to Kenny Gainwell or if he wants to throw big post routes
91:52and run around like a madman, I think it's like, you know, Kenny Gainwell's like did that one season and then for
91:58the rest of his time has like not been very relevant.
92:01So I'm kind of splitting the difference between those two situations.
92:04Uh, I'm just going to throw the next five names up here cause we've already talked about their backfield splits.
92:09And if you want to say anything specifically about them, go for it.
92:13That is from running back 43, Woody Marks, then RJ Harvey, then Mike Washington, then Aaron Jones, and then Tajay Spears.
92:18Yeah. I would say, um, Woody Marks and Tajay Spears both have a chance to kind of steal the starters job out of that, that bunch there.
92:26And obviously Aaron Jones kind of like, it's a different conversation cause he's already entrenched there.
92:30I do think that who has the highest like total feeling would be Mike Washington too.
92:34There's a setback for, for Ashton Gentry, like who has a chance to be a top 15 fantasy running back?
92:40Like to me, it would be him out of that bunch.
92:43I think he's going to have next to nothing in terms of like, um, every week starting potential like in, in flex,
92:49even during the bi-weeks, but like there's a difference between at best him getting 33% of the work and like Blake Corham getting 33% of the work.
92:56And we're talking about the Raiders projection totals each week versus the Rams projection totals each week.
93:00Yeah. And I just know that if Mike Washington was the starter and Gentry was not in, in the game, I think
93:06that he would be projecting very well. They don't have anybody behind them and there's no, there's no running backs available.
93:12Like look at the free agent running backs. James Conner's not coming to, to the Raiders.
93:16And even if that, that, that happens, like who's James Conner at this point?
93:20Like there's like, it's Mike Washington versus Dylan Lobby.
93:23If Ashton Gentry misses time and that's a very good situation to be in.
93:26Yeah. I'm pretty aggressive with my Mike Washington junior ranking.
93:29I don't think that surprises anyone. He's one 55th in consensus rankings right now.
93:33I have him one 16th overall. Yeah. Very fun player.
93:36Okay. And then we end things with like the real handcuffs for us.
93:39That would be tank Bigsby as like the true number one handcuff in the league that you're getting nothing from him.
93:45But if you know, Saquon Barkley goes down, like, holy cow, let's rumble.
93:48Then Tyler Algier and then Jenna Coleman. I would throw in names like Emmitt Johnson here.
93:53You have Zach Charbonnet. There's Braylon Allen. We can keep going on and on for this list.
93:57Yeah. I would say Ray Davis, like another kind of just end of the bench handcuff type.
94:02So yeah, they're all about the same. It's just who gets injured.
94:05Like these guys aren't going to take over the backfields.
94:08Um, maybe Algier, you can start him in week one.
94:10It's Jeremiah love misses time, but, um, yeah, it's a fun, it's a fun group to me.
94:15I don't love the middle section. I like the top guys don't necessarily love the middle.
94:19And then I think there's like a couple swings that you can take, uh, and like the fourth and the fifth tier.
94:25Can we do some cliff talk here? Okay. Yeah.
94:28For me, I would actually end a grouping after Maury and Hampton.
94:31Would you include Ashton Gentian that I'm wearing Hampton conversation?
94:34I know that you don't love Hampton as much as I do or like him as much as I do.
94:39Uh, to me, like it'd be like after Henry and then I would have up to like brief halls, like kind of boom bust tier, but.
94:46Okay. So I would have it to Hampton and then there's that grouping of Gentie, love, hall, Kyron.
94:51And then I would have it almost Javante, eight, eight Chan, and then Deandre Swift.
94:55And there's another group there that for me ends at Basial Tootin.
94:58So Scadaboo to Basial Tootin. And then after that Basial Tootin category, it's like, enjoy your life.
95:03Yeah. It gets pretty rough after that. Um, to the point where like, I'm just waiting till it's Blake Corum, uh, Chris
95:09Rodriguez, Keaton Mitchell, or Jess like Mike Washington or Tank Bixby.
95:12So it's like, to me, I want two of like the two running backs by, you know, Cam Scadaboo.
95:17I'm just kind of where I'm at. And then I'm like maybe mixing in a guy or two and then I'm just
95:23waiting for, you know, Chris Rodriguez plus Tank Bixby.
95:25And that's kind of how I'm playing fantasy drafts this year.
95:28Yeah. I will say we're in this interesting area where most drafts are happening and where no one knows what to do with someone like Marshawn Lloyd, right?
95:36Um, in consensus rankings, just in the last few days, he's 88th overall and we have him 75th overall.
95:41So you and I still think there's about a round to work with here of value with Marshawn Lloyd and drafts.
95:47Yeah. Just looking at it. I have an 89th overall.
95:50You're at 60th overall. Um, so we're different. So we are different, but I do think there's a chance you can get
95:55Marshawn Lloyd 89th overall and you haven't priced, uh, that Josh Jacobs like legitimately could miss the entire season.
96:01And I think like that is true. I don't know the exact odds of that.
96:05I think that's probably the difference of it. Like we're both expecting six games missed and then is it 17 games or
96:11is it, you know, just the six games for, for Marshawn Lloyd?
96:14I think that's, uh, unsettled right now. It's going to come down to the video, which is like, I hate that this
96:20is what it comes down to, but you know, that's life.
96:23All right. That does it for us. We'll be back here tomorrow with wide receivers and then finish out the week with
96:29some quarterbacks and tight ends and also rookie talk here, getting a lay of the land where all the rookies are heading
96:35into week one, which is next week. If I, uh, make it there with this sickness and illness.
96:40Thanks to everyone for tuning in and watching and sticking with us through all this stuff.
96:44We love reading your comments. Let us know how your drafts have been.
96:47Uh, just put your full teams down below, like your favorite one.
96:51If you've already drafted so far, I know I got to talk to a lot of you in Buffalo, uh, and kind
96:57of grade your teams on the fly. So, uh, for those of you that I didn't get to chat with, uh, go
97:03and put that in the comments down below on all of our videos this week.
97:07Uh, I would love to see them. Shout out to Mosher and Wee's behind the scenes, hate in front of it, up the billow.
97:13Talk to you guys soon. See ya.
