Aaron Jones

PositiveUsage2:13

Aaron Jones is the clear workhorse for the Vikings, playing 90% of snaps at halftime and recording 23 carries in Week 2. Matt Harmon notes that with DJ Dallas as a special teams player and Damond Claiborne as a sub-190-pound rookie, this will be the 'Aaron Jones show' for as long as he can handle the workload, making him a viable top-15 running back.

Insight page

Adonai Mitchell

PositiveUsage87:33

Adonai Mitchell is heavily involved in the passing game, seeing 12 targets and operating both downfield and underneath.

Insight page

Alvin Kamara

PositiveUsage23:51

Alvin Kamara is being heavily utilized in the Saints' offense, playing on both early downs and third downs. Despite a low yardage total in Week 2, he remains the primary focus of the backfield rotation over Travis Etienne, maintaining a consistent role throughout the game.

Insight page

Baker Mayfield

NegativeProjection68:06

Baker Mayfield struggled with accuracy and decision-making against the Browns, missing open targets and failing to execute; his performance is part of a broader malaise in the Buccaneers' offense.

Insight page

Braelon Allen

NegativeUsage85:30

Braylon Allen is seeing fringe goal-line work and critical short-yardage carries, but his overall usage remains limited compared to Breece Hall.

Insight page

Breece Hall

PositiveUsage86:40

Despite a lack of touchdowns, Breece Hall is viewed as healthy and explosive. He is seeing consistent volume with 20 touches in back-to-back games, making him a strong fantasy asset in a competent offense.

Insight page

Brian Thomas Jr.

NegativeUsage67:20

Brian Thomas Jr. is struggling to see the field in non-11 personnel sets, running mostly clear-out routes. Harmon notes he is not startable in fantasy given his current role as a designated X receiver who is losing snaps to Travis Hunter.

Insight page

Bucky Irving

PositiveUsage66:17

Bucky Irving was highly efficient for the Buccaneers, recording 17 carries for 89 yards (5.2 yards per carry), though the overall offense remains disorganized.

Insight page

Caleb Williams

NegativeInjury1:45

Caleb Williams suffered a hamstring injury while scrambling at the end of the game and was carted to the locker room. Hayden Winks notes that while he was seen walking without a limp post-game, the severity of a hamstring injury can range from weeks to months, and even upon return, his fantasy value may be impacted if he is unable to utilize the scrambling and time-buying ability that defines his playstyle.

Insight page

Chase Brown

PositiveUsage60:39

Chase Brown was very dependable, handling almost all of the backfield work and recording 20 carries for 80 yards plus three receptions against the Texans; the Bengals' under-center work significantly aided his rushing production.

Insight page

Chris Olave

PositiveUsage20:00

Matt Harmon considers Chris Olave a stud and a fringe top-20 player who is running every route and performing across every quadrant of the field. Olave has recorded 23 targets through two games, with Harmon noting he left 40-50 yards on the field due to drops and penalties.

Insight page
PositiveProjection23:24

Chris Olave is performing as a stud, recording 10 targets, eight receptions, and 86 yards in Week 2. Matt Harmon considers him a fringe top-20 player and argues that he is one of the most desirable wide receivers in fantasy football, noting that he is consistently winning on tape.

Insight page

Christian Watson

PositiveUsage80:56

Christian Watson is a clear fantasy asset who is being utilized in the red zone and remains the team's biggest threat for explosive plays.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

NegativeUsage6:52

Colston Loveland has been a major disappointment through two weeks, recording only one reception for three yards. Ray Garvin expresses 'total panic' regarding his fantasy outlook, noting that Loveland is being used primarily as a blocker rather than a receiver, even in critical late-game situations where he was tasked with blocking Dallas Turner instead of running routes.

Insight page

Dalton Schultz

PositiveUsage93:26

Dalton Schultz saw massive volume with 14 targets, though much of this production came in garbage time. He remains a focal point when the team is forced to pass.

Insight page

Denzel Boston

PositiveBreakout62:35

Denzel Boston is a standout player for the Browns, leading the team with a 94% route participation rate and showing consistent production; he is a clear hit who should be prioritized over Jerry Jeudy.

Insight page

Deshaun Watson

PositiveProjection61:21

Deshaun Watson had his best game in a Cleveland Browns uniform by EPA per drop back (0.2), marking his eighth-best performance since 2020; he effectively exploited the Buccaneers' weak linebacker coverage.

Insight page

Emanuel Wilson

PositiveUsage72:40

Emmanuel Wilson became the primary back for the Seahawks after Jadarian Price suffered a chest/rib injury, setting a career-high in carries and dominating the fourth-quarter workload.

Insight page

J.K. Dobbins

NegativeInjury34:13

J.K. Dobbins is dealing with a hamstring injury and has struggled with pass protection and overall performance early in the season. Matt Harmon notes that the injuries appear to be taking a toll on him.

Insight page

Ja'Marr Chase

PositiveProjection91:48

Jamar Chase had a dominant performance with two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to create big plays even when the offensive line struggles.

Insight page

Jaylen Waddle

PositiveUsage32:42

Jalen Waddle rebounded with 10 targets, 8 receptions, and 138 yards. Matt Harmon notes that while Waddle is being used in the slot and on manufactured touches, his role has a high ADOT, making him potentially more boom-or-bust than expected, but with significant upside.

Insight page

Jerry Jeudy

PositiveRole63:40

Jerry Jeudy is a mercurial player who remains a problem for the Browns' offense; Matt Harmon suggests the team should move on from him, noting he is still running 69% of routes without providing sufficient target value.

Insight page

Jonah Coleman

PositiveBreakout33:45

Jonah Coleman is a top waiver wire priority after stepping up for the Broncos. Matt Harmon and the crew highlight his pass-protection skills and reliability, suggesting he could potentially take over the lead-back job if J.K. Dobbins' injury persists.

Insight page

Josh Cameron

NegativeRole70:01

Josh Cameron is viewed as a 'dirty work' player similar to a poor man's version of Jacoby Myers, contributing primarily through blocking rather than fantasy-relevant production.

Insight page

Justin Herbert

NegativeProjection30:22

Matt Harmon is worried about Justin Herbert's feel for the new offense, noting that he is forcing throws and making mistakes when he feels he has to play 'Superman.' Despite a low pressure rate, Herbert is struggling with accuracy and decision-making.

Insight page

Kalif Raymond

PositiveUsage6:43

Kalief Raymond has emerged as a pesky, consistent option for the Bears, finding soft spots in zone coverage and operating effectively in the short areas. Matt Harmon notes that Raymond's familiarity with the system and his role as an inside-out option make him a reliable contributor, potentially at the expense of younger receivers like Luther Burden.

Insight page

Ladd McConkey

NegativeUsage27:42

Ladd McConkey was effectively 'fake active' in Week 2, playing only three of the first 14 snaps. While his route participation increased in the second half, Matt Harmon suggests his health will be a concern all season long.

Insight page

Luther Burden

NegativeUsage6:40

Luther Burden is struggling to secure a consistent role, playing 55% of snaps at halftime and often rotating out in non-three-wide-receiver sets. Matt Harmon suggests that Burden may not be 100% healthy following training camp and notes that his skill set overlaps with Kalief Raymond, who is currently finding more success in the short-area passing game.

Insight page

Mark Andrews

PositiveProjection25:41

Mark Andrews looked good in Week 2 and remains a strong fantasy play. Despite leaving some yardage on the field due to penalties, he continues to be a focal point of the Ravens' passing attack.

Insight page

MarShawn Lloyd

NegativeBust76:50

Marshawn Lloyd is considered unstartable after a poor performance and a fumble that led to him being benched for the remainder of the game. His role is further threatened by the return of Josh Jacobs.

Insight page

Marvin Harrison Jr.

NegativeBust75:29

Marvin Harrison Jr. is effectively not part of the Cardinals' game plan, recording only one catch for 33 yards through two weeks; he is currently a liability in fantasy lineups and potentially droppable in 10-team leagues.

Insight page

Matthew Golden

PositiveUsage81:42

Matthew Golden is a recommended start, as he is consistently earning targets on a per-route basis and has more explosive upside than Romeo Dobbs in the Packers' offense.

Insight page

Nico Collins

NegativeInjury95:16

Nico Collins is dealing with a multi-week injury, and the Texans' offense struggles significantly without him, making the entire team's fantasy assets difficult to trust.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveUsage39:09

Parker Washington led the Jaguars' receivers with 12 targets, 7 receptions, and 98 yards. Matt Harmon notes that his performance was consistent with expectations for the Jaguars' passing game.

Insight page
PositiveUsage66:55

Parker Washington is the clear focal point of the Jacksonville passing game, with Harmon suggesting he is approaching fringe top-15 wide receiver status while the other receivers are not startable.

Insight page

Rashod Bateman

PositiveRole22:02

Matt Harmon notes that Rashad Bateman is stepping up into the Zay Flowers role for the Ravens. While Bateman had a great game, Harmon emphasizes that the Ravens struggle to find other options when Bateman is covered, highlighting a need for secondary pass-catchers to emerge.

Insight page
PositiveRole25:20

Rashad Bateman stepped into the primary wide receiver role for the Ravens in Week 2, effectively filling the Zay Flowers role. He was the primary target for Lamar Jackson, including a touchdown on a seam route, and is currently the most reliable receiver on the team.

Insight page

Travis Etienne

NegativeUsage23:43

Travis Etienne is losing significant work to Alvin Kamara and CJ Donaldson, with Donaldson playing 15 of 17 snaps on third and fourth downs. Matt Harmon and Ray Garvin agree that Etienne is not being used as a bell-cow back, and his fantasy value is severely capped by this rotation, leading to concerns that he is no longer a viable starter in fantasy lineups.

0:00Oh, we have a lot to talk about. Week 2 is in the books and it felt a whole lot different than week 1.
0:07Fewer points. And I would say when there are fewer points, then we really get to know exactly how these coaches want
0:14to utilize the football, who they want to get the football to.
0:17Hayden, what's the number that you said? I mean, just an embarrassment of lack of touchdowns to certain positions today.
0:23Yeah, we went over the first hour without a touchdown to a wide receiver or a tight end.
0:28It was an hour and three minutes before Devontae Smith got there.
0:32There's a lot of running back touchdowns, but a full hour in week two is not a good start.
0:38So that means if you're feeling it in your fantasy football lineups, all of us are feeling it in our fantasy football lineups.
0:44Obviously the game by game recap show. We got Ray Garvin, we got Matt Harmon, and we're first going to send it
0:51over to Hayden Winks where yeah, we wouldn't regularly start with a game that's not going to be a good start.
0:57Finish 9-3 as the Vikings top the Chicago Bears.
1:00But there's a whole bunch to dive into here, Hayden, in terms of fantasy assets performing or not.
1:05And then maybe most importantly, at the end of the game, Caleb Williams looks like he's about to scramble in for a
1:12touchdown, grabs his hamstring, slides down, gets carted to the locker room as the Bears fail to score a single touchdown after
1:18putting 59 points on the board last week. Let's start with the Vikings because they won this game 9-3.
1:24They did not score a touchdown. The primary two takeaways were, once again, this is a very run-heavy game script for the Vikings.
1:3013 out of their 20 series started with a run.
1:33And who was out there? It was Aaron Jones for nearly almost every single snap.
1:38He left momentarily with a knee injury, but he did return.
1:41It was 90% of the snaps at halftime finishes with 23 carries in this one.
1:46The Bears did a pretty good job of slowing things down in general.
1:49And then through the past game, they just did not have to rely on Carson Wentz.
1:54Carson Wentz had a really bad almost interception on the first drive.
1:58Then had a really hilarious sequence where he was trying to set players in motion before the snap.
2:03The ball goes over his head. There was immediately too many negatives, and then they just said, we're going to get rid
2:09of the Carson Wentz stuff because the defense was so successful.
2:13Justin Jefferson, he had a defensive holding called on Tyreek Stevenson.
2:16That probably would have been a 70-yard touchdown. Aside from that, not a whole lot through the past game.
2:22So maybe, Matt, I'll kick it over to you.
2:24Aaron Jones, 90% of the snaps at halftime, 23 carries in this one.
2:28We're not going to get Jordan Mason for a long time.
2:31I'm not sure if we're going to get Aaron Jones for a long time, but I'm kind of looking at this as like a top 15 running back.
2:40Is that too crazy? I don't think that's crazy.
2:42I mean, again, this is a weird game too, right?
2:45I mean, you watched more of it, obviously, than I did, but weather-impacted game for sure all throughout.
2:51But at the same time, I think Aaron Jones comes out of this pretty well.
2:55And yeah, he might not be around for long, but I mean, this is one of those moments where it doesn't feel
3:01like I'm tempting fate by saying, what else are they going to do?
3:05Like DJ Dallas is a special teams player. Damond Claiborne is a rookie that is a sub 190 pounds.
3:11Like this is going to be the Aaron Jones show for as long as he can handle it.
3:16And I'm certainly going to be more interested in this offense next week when it looks like Kyler Murray will be back.
3:23Hey, Dan, talk us through the opposite end, because I know that really weather won in this one.
3:28That's why we only got 12 points combined. How much of a factor was that?
3:33And then how different did the Bears offense just generally look versus last weekend's laser show?
3:37Yeah, definitely weather mattered here a lot. Even KOC after the game, he said when he was walking on the field, like
3:44as a coach, like his feet were like completely sinking into the grass there.
3:48So weather definitely impacted this one. The Bears, though, it was not just because of the hamstring injury with Caleb.
3:54They were not moving the ball very successfully at all.
3:57And they're still doing the weird stuff with the rotation.
4:00Like, for example, Luther Burden, 55% of the snaps at halftime.
4:03That was behind Kalief Raymond. By the way, Luther Burden, it's the non three wide receiver set snaps.
4:08That's been the hang up at one point. That was about 27% of them.
4:12But then even like Colson Loveland, who obviously we've been drafting super high on him.
4:17He had some moments as like a wide zone blocker, but he's been blocking a whole lot more than receiving.
4:23He comes up empty on this one. Fantasy points.
4:25And unfortunately, on the last play of the game with Tyson Bajan trying to march in for like a rescue game winner.
4:32He's left in not as a receiver. He's left in the block.
4:35Dallas Turner, who walks him back for the sack to walk this thing off.
4:40Dallas Turner, by the way, he's been an absolute monster for back to back games.
4:44Like there's some free pressures for him, certainly. But he's a way more physical player for them.
4:49Like that's the type of player that makes his Vikings defense really go.
4:53The Vikings once again blitz 77% of the time.
4:56Ironically, though, it was the place without the blitz were the problem for the Bears against the blitz.
5:01They were actually OK. There's the problem was like Dallas Turner was kind of chasing down Caleb Williams, who was not very comfortable for most of this game.
5:09Ray, I got to ask you, I know you haven't reviewed the tape, but let's say in one of your leagues, you
5:16drafted Colson Loveland through two games, one reception for three yards in that round four territory.
5:20That was so rich with talent. What's your panic meter right now?
5:24Total panic right now on Colson Loveland. I'm not at coping corner, which is like the most extreme of panic meter panics.
5:30But this is not what I signed up for.
5:33It's it's I mean, and then just to put the icing in the cherry on top, he gets absolutely destroyed by Dallas
5:40Turner to give up the sack at the end of the game.
5:43One catch three yards. It's if you would have I'm telling you all right now, I would have bet my mortgage if
5:50you would have said, right, what's the probability that Kalief Raymond would have 13 catches on the season in the combined trio of burden?
5:57Odunze and Loveland would have 14 on the year.
5:59I'd be homeless. I'd be out on the street right now because I say there's not a chance in hell that would even be possible.
6:07I am on full panic mode. And like Hayden said, the Bears look kind of stank before Caleb Williams went out.
6:13And I get the fact that the weather was bad, but I don't know how you slice this like this is not
6:20what you signed up for two weeks in the season.
6:23But on Kalief Raymond, his A.D. this one, 1.4 yards down the football field, that was something that the Chicago Bears were not able to do.
6:30And I think a lot of times when you think like Brian Flores bringing all this pressure, just beat him over the top.
6:37Pretty much no team playing Brian Flores even tries to pass the ball over the top.
6:42There was one completion from Caleb Williams beyond eight air yards in this one.
6:46When you have like six guys crowding the line of scrimmage, you don't know who's coming.
6:51Typically what happens is the running backs don't go out in the route.
6:54Sometimes the tight ends don't go out in the route.
6:57And they just kind of pepper like this little slot player.
7:01And that's exactly what Brian Flores wants because those guys were kind of swarming there.
7:05So it wasn't even like the most effective stuff from Caleb or Kalief Raymond.
7:09And then some of the Roma Dunes stuff, that was kind of like out of out of structure as well.
7:15It's like nothing came easy for Caleb Williams and Tyson Bajan at the end of there.
7:20And if they didn't get DeAndre Swift for a couple of nice receptions underneath, which was like kind of like throw the
7:26ball out to the flats, a little screen play, kind of catch them slipping a little bit.
7:31That was like the only effective stuff that they had here, because even against the ground, like DeAndre Swift, 2.8 yards per carry.
7:38Kyle Menunga had a couple of nice runs, but nothing too crazy here.
7:42And just the Vikings defense was swarming. And then last note real quick, DeAndre Swift at the goal line, Jalen Redman, a
7:49defensive tackle for the Vikings, who's just been a monster.
7:51He keeps popping up on tape every single time I watch him punches the ball out.
7:56That was like obviously a huge part of this game.
7:59So, yeah, really like nothing going here from the Bears moving the ball down the field.
8:04Matt, just to reset here. I just want to go through the Bears receivers.
8:08DeAndre Swift, leading receiver, five receptions, 54 yards. Roma Dunes, three for 43 on four targets.
8:13Kalief Raymond, as we put up on the screen, five for 40.
8:16Luther Burden, three for 32. Then all the way down below Sam Rauch is Colston Loveland, one for three.
8:22So Hayden mentioned, you know, some rotation here or there.
8:25And Matt, I don't want to spend an eternity on Kalief Raymond.
8:28But if I was to zoom out and try to picture why a 32-year-old Kalief Raymond with a history with Ben Johnson
8:35is heavily involved in comparison to some other pieces that we highly drafted that are not heavily involved.
8:40Some of it's the defenses that they faced, like with the Panthers.
8:44They have great outside corners. They try to play coverage in the back half.
8:48And he was just open on the reads underneath in the quick areas.
8:52Right. This one, some of the same thing as Hayden mentioned, they'll rush and muddy up the gaps and then they'll play coverage in the back half.
9:00And then you have that open area. I would say, obviously, the Bears scored a bunch of points last week.
9:06But if you want to be better in that area, then like get guys who can win after the catch a little bit more.
9:13Obviously, with Colston Loveland and Luther Burden there. But Matt, I would love your input here.
9:17Yeah. I mean, Raymond is a really solid player.
9:20You know, he's had his moments in the NFL.
9:23Like you said, he knows the system. He's an inside out option for this team.
9:27Good news, bad news for the Bears. They play on Monday night.
9:31So theoretically, next week, theoretically, Caleb Williams can get back for that one.
9:35Maybe if he's got a little extra day. Bad news.
9:38They play the Philadelphia Eagles, which is not exactly the unit I'd be wanting to go up against if I got to fix some of these problems.
9:46You know, I also think, too, just on specifically on Raymond, I think he's going to be a little bit pesky for this team all year.
9:53And I kind of think that was something we maybe should have talked about in the offseason more.
9:59I know Nate and I briefly talked about it on players that were better in real life than fantasy football, that he
10:05was going to have an impact for this team.
10:08I think it's going to continue to happen. And I do think it really like his skill set, at least how they've
10:14used him so far in the short areas and kind of finding soft spots and zones.
10:19That is probably going to be a problem for a guy like Luther Burton, who I still want to say is probably
10:25not 100 percent healthy after being injured throughout training camp.
10:28But I am a little worried there's a little bit overlapping skill sets between those two guys.
10:33In addition to the fact, like, Hayden, I thought there was one point like Sam Rauch got like a designed target inside the scoring area.
10:41I don't know. It did not end well. Spoiler alert for everybody else out there.
10:45It does feel like maybe the Bears are maybe a little bit too cute, maybe feeling themselves after a great week one.
10:52Yeah. Sam Rauch dropped a couple of passes in this one just was really brutal spots.
10:57But I agree. Just watching both the Luther Burton games, he's not getting like a bunch of like the manufacturer touches that you would necessarily see.
11:04There's also like a really interesting sequence at the end of the game when Bajam was trying to win that game.
11:10Luther Burton gets tackled inbounds. I thought there was a chance that he could have got out of bounds.
11:16They're kind of scrambling around. They throw the ball up to Luther Burton, who wasn't even expecting the ball to come his way.
11:23And that was almost an interception. It's kind of like back to back plays from Luther Burton where like not everything was kind of checking out.
11:31So, yeah, I agree. The Khalif Raymond stuff, like he's just kind of sitting there underneath.
11:35And that's been like a lot of like the most successful plays.
11:39Like those, they have been working, unfortunately, for Chicago.
11:41Hayden, I know you haven't watched all 22. How would you use Colson Loveland differently?
11:46Yeah, I mean, I would use him. I mean, I don't even know differently.
11:50I would just use him. Can I just use him?
11:53I don't even know what's different about it. Just use him.
11:56Yeah, I'll have to go back and watch this one.
11:59You can't even say it's like the weather, though, because he's not going to be winning down the football field all that often.
12:06There was a couple of times where he was like isolated out there, but the ball is just like not going his way.
12:13I will say I did not like the games on the line and he's blocking the defensive end now instead of being out there.
12:20Right. To me, like that's like, OK, we can at least do better than that.
12:24Final question. We know that Caleb gets carted off in tears, gives a thumbs up.
12:29I mean, as soon as it happened, it looked really bad.
12:32I'll be it. You saw him grab that hamstring.
12:35Hayden, what is the latest? Like apparently he walked through the locker room with reporters with no limp and no crutches or anything.
12:41So it's not a complete tear off the bone.
12:44I mean, seeing that visual and then with him potentially after imaging maybe tomorrow, maybe not missing that much time would be truly amazing.
12:51Yeah. Hamstring just depends on the severity of it.
12:54It was definitely the hamstring kind of that move where he's like picks up both of his feet when he's getting chased down.
13:01And he does evade a lot of sacks and that.
13:04But in the rain, it was just a little bit too much here.
13:07So, yeah, who knows? Like if it's a really serious one, it's it's months.
13:12Most of the time it's weeks. I will say this.
13:15A lot of the best plays from Caleb Williams this year and last year is him buying time, throwing the ball down the field and obviously the scrambling.
13:23Like even if he does come back and let's say like hopefully it's in the next couple of weeks, like is it going to be the same version?
13:31Because that's a lot of the plays in that week one game where we're him buying a lot of time or scrambling himself.
13:38Yeah. All right. We'll move on. There were two games in week two where the eight and a half point underdogs won outright.
13:45And that includes here the New Orleans Saints on the road in Baltimore beat the Ravens 24 to 17.
13:50And I'm kind of looking at this box score, Ray, and I can't really tell how they did it.
13:56OK, now Tyler Shuck does have two touchdowns in the day, one passing, one rushing, 252 yards.
14:01We'll go through all this. Obviously, Chris Olave, fantastic with 10 targets, eight receptions, 86 yards.
14:06But it's not like we got any answers with our backfield weirdness, did we?
14:10We did not. And well, actually, Josh, I may change it.
14:13I think we did get a little bit of an answer.
14:16And it's not the answer that anybody wants to hear.
14:19I just don't know if Travis A-Chan is that dude for this offense.
14:23It does not appear to be so. Going into halftime, it was nine rush attempts or nine touches for Alvin Kamara to two to Travis A-Chan.
14:31It does not seem like they want to feature him for whatever reason.
14:35Yet I'm watching this game. And it was very obvious that the coaching from Kellen Moore, he outcoached the other side of the ball.
14:42Jesse Minter and the Baltimore Ravens. Tyler Shuck outplayed Lamar Jackson.
14:45I know their numbers are close, but it just felt like Baltimore never really, never really could get their foot on New Orleans and to put them away.
14:53Going into halftime, the game was, I believe, 14 to six going into halftime.
14:57And Baltimore only got, what, three more points. They only scored one more touchdown after that.
15:02It was 14 to six at halftime. And then they only managed a few more points after this.
15:07And you look at what Baltimore did. It was Lamar running around for his life.
15:12I've talked about it at great length that Lamar Jackson does not prioritize the wide receiver two in his offense.
15:18And I'm watching this and it's a problem. Okay.
15:20Rashad Bateman had a great game, but you know what?
15:23He wasn't the wide receiver two today. He was the wide receiver one.
15:27So he sort of stepped in to the Zay Flowers role.
15:31Downfield stuff. He got a shot early in the game.
15:33A seam route up the middle for a touchdown.
15:36Like he was the primary target. And Mark Andrews, I asked you about him last week, Josh.
15:41He looked good again. And he left a couple of yards on the field due to a couple of penalties.
15:47So Mark Andrews is a strong play. But there is nobody else to take pressure off of Lamar.
15:52And when the running game really couldn't get going today, Derek Henry had a couple of decent runs.
15:58But by and large, it was three yards here, five yards there, a six-yard game.
16:02But he wasn't able to get loose. And then New Orleans just kept chipping away, chipping away, chipping away.
16:08Devon Vele is a solid role player. Juwan Johnson, a very solid tight end that people don't like.
16:13Chris Olave is a stud. And when you look at this backfield rotation, Alvin Kamara, five catches for seven yards.
16:19I don't know what the average is for that.
16:22What, a yard per catch for Alvin Kamara? A little over that.
16:25But they continue to utilize him throughout the entire game.
16:28Thank goodness Travis Etienne got one of those plays where he had almost scored a touchdown.
16:33They call it back through to a penalty. But I do think there are answers, Josh.
16:38And the answer isn't what we want to hear.
16:40I don't think he is the bell cow running back for this Calamore offense.
16:44Harmon, is this Travis Etienne contract just money laundering staring us in the face?
16:49I mean, it's more that than like, hey, we're going to use you as a workhorse.
16:53Is it not? I didn't hear a single kind of justification last week from any fantasy content creator that I consume, you
17:00know, about like why this was going to be okay for Travis Etienne with the rotation that we saw in week one
17:06that didn't involve, but they paid him a lot of money.
17:10Are they paying a lot of money? I mean, that's great.
17:13Like the direct deposit is hitting for Travis Etienne, but the fantasy usage is not.
17:17And he comes away, you know, with the touchdown taken back here, which I guess you could say, like if that had
17:24happened, we'd probably save the day for him. But he is someone that I'm worried that when we do the episode tomorrow
17:30that I might be putting him in the coping corner already.
17:34I mean, what else is going to change about this?
17:36I don't know. On third and fourth downs, CJ Donaldson, 15 of 17 snaps.
17:41So that's the first problem. Someone that we've never heard of is playing almost every single snap, even with Alvin Kamara.
17:47So that leaves Alvin Kamara with playing on the early down snaps, which is what Travis Etienne was supposed to get 90% of this one.
17:54So I think he is going to get the goal line role like we saw that in this one.
18:00But you can't be a 50% player on early downs and get zero of the third and fourth down snaps and be a fourth round player.
18:08So it's pretty much over for Travis Etienne until something changes.
18:11I mean, Ray, maybe it's pointless of me trying to work through this decision making.
18:15But is it potentially that Kellen Moore and company signed Travis Etienne?
18:19They got in camp and they kind of just realized he's not as good as we thought he was.
18:24Or is this all, hey, we want to split the backfield as much as possible and we'll pay him, you know, that
18:31type of running back salary and still only use them a third to a half of the time?
18:36Can I say both things can be true? I mean, everybody on this panel has had multiple conversations with players who have
18:43played in the NFL, listening to what happens behind the scenes on the practice field.
18:47It doesn't take long, right? Once you get into camp, once you start playing, like it doesn't take by week six for
18:54the NFL coach to figure out if this guy's good or this guy's going to be a player or have a bigger role or a smaller role.
19:02Like, you know pretty quickly what you've got in somebody very early on.
19:05And I'm trying to think back to the summer where there are tea leaves that we were just ignoring and missing, that
19:12they were using multiple backs in camp, that he wasn't going to be this workhorse.
19:16Watching the flow of the game, y'all, it wasn't like they got blown out and they take him off the field.
19:23Alvin Kamara was on the field early down situations, third down situations.
19:26He was not on the – it was never, never one point in time did you feel like, oh, this is a Travis Atran drive.
19:34It's – he gets a few touches, then they pull him off the field, they put in Alvin Kamara.
19:39I think both of these things could be true, Josh.
19:42Maybe he's not as good as they thought he was and maybe they just want to use multiple running backs.
19:48But through two weeks, I'm with you, Harmon. Like, what's the excuse this week?
19:52I don't know. I don't have a good one, I'll tell you that.
19:56Can we talk about the player who's good on this team, Chris Olave?
20:00How many receivers in fantasy football would we all want to have rather than Chris Olave right now?
20:05I think it's a short list. Good question. I closed with him as a fringe top 20 player in my overall rankings,
20:12and he has been just every time I've watched the tape, seeing the game today.
20:16Like, he's a stud. He's doing everything right now.
20:19There's not – like I remember saying a couple times on the pod, it might have been with – I mean, it
20:25probably was with all three here because we all talk so much.
20:29But I was like, what's the difference between Chris Olave and Drake London when Drake London was going in the second round
20:35and Chris Olave is going in the third round?
20:38Quite a bit of a difference now between what's going on with Drake London and what's going on with Chris Olave.
20:4423 targets for Olave through two games. 23 targets and I'd say conservatively another 40, 50 yards left on the field due to some drops or a penalty.
20:52He looks outstanding. Every quadrant of the field, Matt, when you chart him at some point in the season, I mean, it's
20:59just going to be green all over. The place because he's running every route, coming down with every catch, and he just
21:05looks like he's having fun with that mushroom on top of his head.
21:09At this point, it's going to take Carson Loveland the whole season to get 23 targets.
21:14Okay. Oh, yeah. On the Ravens, last week, I thought that Declan Doyle and Lamar Jackson were awesome together, that they were on the same page.
21:22Ray, did they still look good together? Like, were they chaining runs and passing plays and bootlegs and movement and all that type of stuff?
21:29And was the difference that, hey, Zay Flowers isn't out there and he is by far and away their best pass catcher?
21:36The first scripted, like the first scripted package that they came out with, I was like, okay, this is Baltimore.
21:42They look good. Rashad Bateman is stepping up. He's going to be in the Zay Flowers role.
21:47But once they got through that first 15, 20 plays on the play sheet, they didn't have answers.
21:52They didn't have answers. I know there were some issues and some concerns about Ronnie Stanley playing, and then they've got Carson Benson in there at offensive tackle.
22:00Lamar was under duress all day. Derek Henry really couldn't get going.
22:04And Josh, I truly believe the biggest problem with Baltimore, probably if you go back the past couple of years, is their
22:10inability to find somebody else to throw to when the primary target is occupied or covered up.
22:15Rashad Bateman had a great game. But we need Bateman to be good when Zay Flowers is on the field.
22:21We need when one of them are out, somebody else has to step up.
22:25Maybe that was supposed to be Jacoby Lane. Maybe that gives you some hope for one of those younger guys down the line.
22:32But it's a big problem. When Bateman was covered up, there were no other answers.
22:36It was pray to Mark Andrews, dump the ball to Derek Henry or Lamar Jackson, scramble around.
22:42They have to find another option. Yeah. I'm sure Ravens fans thought that, you know, a 14-point fourth quarter would leave when
22:48Harbaugh left and these wonky, weird losses would go away.
22:51But that certainly was not the case here. All right.
22:54It is time to talk about the most disappointing team in the NFL.
22:58Not just to me, but also to the markets.
23:00That's the LA Chargers as they lose 26-14 at home here against the Las Vegas Raiders.
23:05I'm going to take you to the end of game sequence because I think it's very indicative of where the Chargers are at right now.
23:13So they're down three, five minutes to go with the ball in their hands.
23:17They're down three, five minutes to go with the ball in their hands.
23:21Deep in their own territory, Justin Herbert fumbles on a sack on third and eight, but the ball falls forward.
23:26They recover it. So it turns into a fourth and one.
23:30Clint Kubiak on the opposite sideline calls a timeout.
23:32Out of that timeout, the Raiders then have 12 men on the field.
23:36So they have to run a play. The Chargers get a new sequence of events.
23:41Automatic first down at midfield. On the very next carry, Amar Hampton fumbles it up the gut and the game ends with Cody White.
23:48Yes. Name seven teams that Cody White has played for in the NFL.
23:52Scores his second touchdown of the game. And his first, by the way, was one of the best catches of the weekend.
23:58Ripped it out of the Chargers' DB's hands. I mean, this game was so sloppy on both ends, but especially when we're talking about the LA Chargers.
24:06There were three false starts for Joe Alt at home.
24:09If you want to call this a home game for the LA Chargers.
24:13A beautiful ball to David Njoku that he bobbled led to Justin Herbert's first interception.
24:17By the way, David Njoku carted off with, I believe, a knee injury.
24:21A cover two hole shot to Quentin Johnson that was dropped along the sideline.
24:25Brennan Thompson drops a 15-yarder because he was playing a lot more than Ladd McConkie in the first half.
24:31And then third and short for the Chargers on one snap.
24:34Order of operations not there. The snap hits Trey Harris in motion and the Chargers fall on the fumble.
24:40Really, truly, the best part of this game, other than Cody White, was Hayden's guy, Trey Tucker.
24:45He made good on a slip early in the game that caused an interception.
24:49But man, he made up for it. 40-yard touchdown.
24:52Deep post in the first half. Kirk longest throw of the season.
24:55Until another post shot to Trey Tucker later on for a 42-yard gain with intense interior pressure on Kirkko.
25:01It's almost a no-look pass. And don't look out now, Hayden, as the Las Vegas Raiders are 2-0.
25:06Yeah, Trey Tucker better be on the sting thumbnail.
25:09That's all I'll say about that. I think what's shocking about the Chargers, and obviously we'll get to their offense, is the
25:15defense is just giving up big chunk plays. And then Derwin James in the first game on one-on-one situations, he was getting beats.
25:22Like, their best players aren't really showing up. They don't really have any edge rushers right now that are standing out.
25:28And some of those deep passes from Kirk Cousins there, he's got all the time in the world.
25:34That is as big of a problem, the defense is, as the offense.
25:37And that's shocking because the defensive coordinator, he left.
25:40But you figure that they would have some semblance of a defense.
25:44I hear you. However, they were fantastic at stopping the run in this game.
25:48Ashton Gentry goes 21 carries for 48 yards. Ashton Gentry was a part of the problem, too.
25:53He had three drops in this game, multiple on third and fourth downs.
25:57There's also a sequence where he got three carries inside the five-yard line, including a wildcat on fourth and one, and never
26:03got into the end zone on that. So there's a huge difference between his week one and his week two.
26:09But Hayden, like, other than Trey Tucker, like, Derek Young was the next leading receiver for the Raiders at 27 yards.
26:15Jack Bash at 25 yards. To me, it kind of comes back to the offense is putting the defense in terrible, terrible situations.
26:22Like, the Chargers really had one good drive. It was out of half, let off with a 53-yard catch by Trey Harris,
26:29wide open after Justin Herbert climbs the pocket. And they had a red zone touchdown very shortly after that to a Rondé
26:35Gadsden, where there was this weird, awkward action in the backfield that makes Justin Herbert look in the opposite direction.
26:41Max Crosby is left unblocked somehow, some way Justin Herbert freezes him, climbs the pocket, and throws the touchdown.
26:47But other than that, it just looks like the Chargers are not practicing between these games.
26:51And I understand that they are. But, Matt, it really has gotten to this point where this Mike and Daniel offense, it wasn't ready in week one.
26:59It's not ready in week two. And I question when it is going to be ready because the Chargers really needed to
27:06win their first two games against the Cardinals and the Raiders.
27:09Because after this, it's the Bills, Seahawks, Broncos, Chiefs, Rams, Texans, Ravens.
27:13Good luck to you. Oh, man. Brutal, brutal schedule coming in here now at this point.
27:17I mean, this is one of the biggest shocks of the first two weeks of the season that this team has been.
27:24I could see them being like a slow, you know, slow-ish start team just because it's a new offense.
27:29It's really different. All the motions and all the personnel groupings that they want to put on the field, that's fine.
27:36I also think without Ladd McConkie, they're banged. And Ladd McConkie was, at least to the route participation numbers, like fake active today.
27:42He was out there, but he was not in a full-time role, which is at least, you know, I think you can pretty much expect that.
27:50I know he had like one great catch that I saw in cut there.
27:54Also got looked like he got kind of smoked on that one, too.
27:58That's going to be tough for Ladd all season long.
28:01But yeah, I don't know. This is one of the biggest shocks to me of the first two weeks of the season
28:08that they have looked this bad and this like disorganized so far to me, Josh.
28:12Yes. Yeah. It's just way too much window dressing and stuff going on before the snap rate.
28:17Go ahead. No, I'm just going to say this is a fantasy football show.
28:21But I truly believe that I am surrounded by three of the best just straight-up ball knowers in the fantasy football game.
28:28So kudos to this crew. I want to give some flowers and appreciation to Clint Kubiak.
28:32Like this Raiders team, we're talking about how big of a shock it is for the Chargers.
28:37I don't recognize this team. Like they look completely different on both sides of the ball.
28:42It's not perfect, but I tweeted it out. If there was a coach of the year two weeks into the NFL season,
28:49Clint Kubiak has got to be at the top of the list.
28:52I mean, they're playing good on both sides of the ball.
28:55And it almost makes you forget that they picked Fernando Mendoza number one overall in the NFL draft because it's like Cousins is serviceable enough.
29:03This takes credit to the culture change in Las Vegas because this team is playing damn good football right now.
29:09To that point, Ray, we just talked about, and we'll get into Ladin McConkie with the Chargers, but their passing game not looking solid without him.
29:16You could kind of say the same thing about Zay Flowers and the Ravens who we just talked about, a bunch of these other teams.
29:24And yet the Raiders have not had Brock Bowers in the first two games, and they are 2-0.
29:29That is just good coaching. When you elevate role players like Trey Tucker is, like Derek Young, like Jack Bash, like Cody
29:36White over these last two weeks, like that is exactly what good coaching is.
29:40Just quickly on Ladin McConkie, I think he played like three of the first 14 plays for the opening 13 snaps.
29:46Okay. That included third and five, third and eight, third and 11.
29:50He was all on the sideline. Now that changed in the second half when this team had to have him on the field.
29:56He ended up, I think, running a route on 24 of 34 dropbacks.
30:00And he then did play a bunch of third downs.
30:03But it just, it wasn't enough. And yeah, without him, like again, when a veteran David Njoku drops a pass and QJ
30:10drops a pass and all this type of stuff.
30:12And again, as we have seen with Justin Herbert, when things are kind of going poorly and he feels like he has
30:19to play Superman Hayden, he just forces throws that he shouldn't.
30:22He forces mistakes and he doesn't live for the next down.
30:25And that definitely came back to bite him in this game too.
30:29I'm a little bit worried about Justin Herbert in that looking at the numbers, the pass protection, it's not like that he was under duress.
30:36According to PFF, it's like 26% pressure rate. And when I was watching the first game, there were some times where I
30:43thought Justin Herbert was just like either not pulling the trigger or like a little bit more inaccurate.
30:48Now, obviously you have drops to Quinton Johnson. I saw one with a rookie as well.
30:53The David Njoku interception drop, fumble, whatever we're calling that, was just like hilarious.
30:57But there's been some times where there's like keeping a lot of guys in.
31:01There's like two guys out in the route and there's, you know, seven, eight guys in coverage and Justin Herbert's not seeing it well.
31:08And he just kind of chucking it downfield with like very little success.
31:12Like I'm a little bit worried about just Justin Herbert's feel in this offense early on.
31:17Yeah, none of it looks easy at this moment.
31:19And while we can say the running game, which should be Mike McDaniel's staple, 23 carries, which is a career high for
31:26Martin Hampton, 94 yards and a touchdown. And he and Keaton Mitchell had this one nice drive.
31:31It was like chunk gain after chunk gain. And that's when Hampton got down to the one yard line and scored again.
31:37He fumbled the game away and he is just like a magnet to contact.
31:42The dude wants to like get hit every single time he carries the ball.
31:46He doesn't want to juke anyone out. He doesn't want to run this space.
31:50He just wants to run into three defenders. And that shows up a lot.
31:54And that's very different than like the Devon H.
31:57And of the Miami Dolphins and a bunch of the other backs that have had a lot of success here.
32:03So there's not much else to say here. I mean, again, the Chargers need to start 2-0 and they're 0-2 and they
32:09have to learn on the fly fast. I think we, you know, made the point that these new play callers, it's going to take some time.
32:17But I would say that the Chargers are the most behind of any team in the league right now.
32:22And the markets keep giving them a lot of credit.
32:25And I think that's about to change swiftly here in week three.
32:29All right, Matt. Let's talk about it. Broncos, Jaguars, some of our favorite players that we drafted this summer are involved here.
32:35But there was one man, one name that we needed a big rebound from.
32:40And his, for our pride, name was Jalen Waddle.
32:4210 targets, 8 receptions, 138 yards, which is 106 more than the next closest Bronco, whose name is Nate Atkins, as the
32:49Broncos win at home 20-13 over the Jaguars. Thank God for, yeah, all the YouTube comments for the at mentions.
32:55Jalen Waddle has a big game. And it was pretty apparent pretty early, even before the Broncos offense found themselves that Jalen Waddle was going to be back.
33:03He had 92 of his total yards from the slot, but he wasn't a primary slot player.
33:08He was like 26% from the slot in terms of snaps.
33:11But when he was in there, you know, the targets per route juiced up.
33:15They really want to get him these explosive plays.
33:18They also manufactured some stuff for him. But it was really within the flow of the offense, too, just both down the
33:24field and also like in cuts in the intermediate area.
33:27This was the theory of the case of why you get Jalen Waddle here.
33:32And again, this was not a perfect outing by the Denver Broncos offense by any means.
33:36But they did settle down in the second half.
33:39I think a good chunk of that, like a good bit of the credit does have to go to Jonah Coleman getting
33:45in there, who is going to be one of the biggest waiver wires of the week.
33:50We'll be like the first people to tell you that we won't be the last.
33:55Um, because after he was dropped last week by a lot of people.
33:58Yeah, seven. He was dropped in 7% of Yahoo leagues.
34:01He's currently rostered in 26% of Yahoo leagues. So yeah, I mean, listen, he's going to be picked back up.
34:07He should be picked back up. I don't think J.K.
34:10Dobbins has looked all that great to start the season.
34:13And now he's dealing with he's dealing with the hamstring injury also in pass protection to J.K.
34:18Dobbins has made a lot of mistakes that continued once again today, which is weird because he's a veteran back and played for this team last year.
34:26And Jonah Coleman is one of the best pass protecting backs in the NFL draft class.
34:31Uh, I actually had him on the forecast at one point during the, the off season.
34:36And he talked about, uh, before the draft, you know, just how much pride he took in like pass protection, uh, catching
34:42the ball, like being a reliable player. And you gotta, you know, that Sean Payton had to love that Jonah Coleman with
34:49about two, less than three minutes left in this game slides in bounds to keep the clock rolling so that they can
34:55just ice this game to ultimately win it. Cause like I said, not a perfect outing by the Denver Broncos offense.
35:01They still have some things they need to work on here.
35:05Um, Bo Nix through a ghastly interception in the end zone, uh, on a slot fade to Cortland Sutton that just like, wasn't even close.
35:12But I think Jonah Coleman kind of settling down the run game and Jalen Waddle being exactly what they bargained for.
35:18And we all bargained for in fantasy football. It was the biggest stories of the day.
35:23Matt, can we double click on Jalen Waddle? I see that he got a couple of screens, but if you remove those
35:29screens, his ADOT was 20 yards down the field.
35:32Could we, uh, explain why and how that happened?
35:35That is one thing like coming out of week one.
35:38And I wrote this for a RP that like was maybe a difference in what I expected his, you know, kind of usage to be.
35:45It's a little bit like all or nothing in that way.
35:48I'm not going to call it like the Marvin Mims role.
35:52Uh, but it is very much like, you know, where, where Mims is pretty much all screens and go routes and corners
35:58and posts, but there is a decent bit of that for Jalen Waddle here.
36:02So they're definitely going to, he might be a little bit more boomer bus than I Bart, than I like really wanted him to be.
36:10If he's going to reach that absolute upside case.
36:12But I mean, again, the offense was not clicking today and he still had these major, major booms.
36:18So, um, even his first like big play of the day, it's on a post route from the slot, uh, where he
36:24just gets loose against zone coverage and he goes down at the one yard line.
36:29They don't punch the ball in by the way.
36:31Uh, cause that was when the offense was not in, in a good spot in short yardage situations.
36:37But yeah, so I do think there might be a little bit more volatility to his role, but I think that's something
36:43really worth living through because you see what the upside is here.
36:47Ray, just to rewind here on, on Jonah Coleman.
36:49I think it was three different shows. I talked about it this week where the Broncos in week one against the chiefs kind of lack sparks everywhere.
36:57And I'm glad they got Jalen Waddle involved here.
37:00But to me, when you have the compounding RG Harvey being out JK Dobbins at his age, and then maybe some frustration
37:06about the offense being able to at least move the chains efficiently that all kind of stepped up for a guy in
37:13Jonah Coleman that got zero snaps in week one, once he gets his opportunity.
37:17And once he looks good to then like rip away and bite into some real opportunity.
37:22And it looks like from listening to what Matt is saying, Ray, that he did that.
37:27Yeah. And this is one of the guys coming out of college, right?
37:30Before he was drafted out of Washington, Jonah Coleman was the same physical, no nonsense, explosive hammer at the University of Arizona.
37:37And when you think about Sean Payton, the running backs that he's had of the past, and then Jonah Coleman sort of
37:43archetype and profile, very, very reminiscent of a Mark Ingram, Pierre Thomas type player.
37:48I'm watching JK Dobbins the same way y'all are.
37:50He just doesn't even look, he doesn't look good at this point.
37:54The injuries are taking a toll on him. RJ Harvey, you kind of know the role that he's in.
37:59This is one where I'm just going to say, I would be very aggressive with going after waiver claims or bids for
38:06Jonah Coleman, because the fit in Denver and his style, it's like chef's kiss with Sean Payton.
38:11I said this during the game. I think there's a non 0% chance like if Jonah Coleman, and again, we don't know
38:17how long the injury is going to be for JK Dobbins here, if he even misses one game.
38:23But if he got like a couple games here, I would say there's a non 0% chance.
38:28He just, he keeps the lead back job there going forward.
38:31Yeah. And Harvey's a big part of that too, because we know that Sean Payton loves to dial up the red zone work for RJ Harvey.
38:39And if he's out too, then even more goes to Jonah Coleman.
38:42Matt, I want to go over the Jaguars end.
38:45Trevor Lawrence goes 17 of 29 for one 89, zero touchdowns, one interception.
38:49I see Basial Tootin versus Chris Rodriguez being 13 carries 65 yards and a wildcat touchdown near the goal line for Basial
38:55Tootin compared to the six carries for Chris Rodriguez and 13 yards.
38:59And then the wide receivers is once again led by Parker Washington, 12 targets, seven receptions, 98 yards.
39:04So overall, it looks like the Broncos defense bounced back, but some of our favorite players still got there with the Jacks.
39:11Yeah, definitely a much better. Like, Hey, let's respect ourselves outing from the Broncos defense here.
39:15According to next gen stats, Trevor Lawrence was under pressure on 40% of his dropbacks.
39:20And it really felt like that. Like if you could pick one nit with this Jaguars offensive just ecosystem here.
39:26And I don't even know that this is really a nit.
39:29It might actually be a problem. Like pass pro is the issue, especially right up the gut.
39:34I mean, Zach Allen was dominant in this game.
39:37He took Emmanuel Pregnon, the rookie guard for a ride several times here.
39:40Zach Allen's is one of the more like under maybe underappreciated nationally defenders in the NFL.
39:45He was excellent in this game. Their tackling was better, but still Basial Tootin was able to get home.
39:51Tootin had the wildcat touchdown. He had a couple of really nice runs in this game.
39:56I don't think he's going to be some massive RB1 hit in fantasy, but he's pretty clearly their best back and somebody
40:02that is going to continue to get there. I think if you're looking for like touchdowns and obviously some bigger plays, I
40:09think they'll continue to give him more and more work.
40:11He was impressive to me in this one. Not overwhelming, but pretty impressive.
40:15And in the passing game, it was kind of what we have expected here where Parker Washington was awesome.
40:21Parker Washington even like maybe left a couple of plays on the field and Trevor Lawrence's interception was like reverting to bad habits.
40:28Trevor were. I don't really know what he was doing other than like kind of staring down Parker Washington under a little
40:34bit of pressure and he throws it basically right to Riley Moss who had him blanketed man coverage there.
40:40BTJ had a couple of nice moments, but it's not going to really be great for you in fantasy because he's still
40:46running a lot of those clear out routes. And there was one play where I mean, it was unfortunately like he's going
40:53in the air looking for that defender to hit him before the ball gets there.
40:57And ultimately, he ends up dropping it. So nice moments for BTJ, but it remains the Parker Washington show in Jacksonville as expected.
41:04Are we not at the point where it's Parker Washington fringe top 15 fantasy wide receiver and you can't start the other two guys?
41:11I mean, looking at it, Jacoby Myers, it's 5% targets per route this season.
41:15And he just never get like, why would you scheme up the ball to Jacoby Myers?
41:20Like I get that. He's a big part of the offense in other ways, but like you don't need to actually throw the ball to him.
41:28And then once again, in the non 11 personnel snaps, Brian Thomas won out of 21.
41:32Travis Hunter had more snaps in the non three wide receiver sets than Brian Thomas in this one.
41:38So like brutal. I mean, I don't think that you can totally play Thomas.
41:42That is the pecking order like on display. Yeah.
41:45That's designated X stuff right there. Do y'all think they can move a trade?
41:49A trade? Like do you think that if they're not going to use him like that?
41:53But they kind of need him though. Like who else is going to do that though?
41:58Yeah, they do. Yeah, they do kind of need him.
42:01Because what about Josh Cameron? Josh, can he do that stuff?
42:04Yeah, no, Josh. No, I don't think so. Josh Cameron is like he's actually going to make.
42:09I know it's only been two games, but he's going to make a nice little career for himself as a dirty work guy.
42:16The problem is like they already have a dirty work guy in Jacoby Myers, and I don't know that you're not ready to throw.
42:23Yeah, he's basically Jacoby Myers, but like the very, very poor man's version.
42:27But he again had some really nice blocks in this game.
42:30So there's there's that. Question to raise point. If Brian Thomas Jr.
42:34Is barely playing in three or two wide receiver sets and only in three wide receiver sets, and they get to a
42:40point where they actually feel comfortable with Travis Hunter playing more on offense.
42:44Couldn't they just play him in that X receiver spot and then move BTJ for like a second round pick?
42:50If not more. Would they get a second round pick for him right now?
42:54Probably, probably. But I don't know. I mean, it's just probably a second round pick, and it might be worth it if
43:01they were willing to give Travis Hunter that kind of work.
43:04And like Hunter had some moments at corner today.
43:07He did actually draw a DPI against Corlin Sutton that was a very obvious DPI.
43:11And yet Liam Cohen still went absolutely ballistic to the point that he got a personal foul.
43:16And they had the two penalties in one moment.
43:19Liam was hot in the second half because that offense just like, like I said, just completely hit the wall.
43:25Matt, my final question is on Basial Tootin. If we can throw back on that Michael F.
43:30Florio tweet with the usage. This backfield split three different ways, but Basial Tootin had the vast majority at at over 50%, right?
43:37So we still don't have like a pure explosive from Basial Tootin.
43:40His longest rush here went for 16 yards. But Matt, if we're just talking about like stacking good weeks and forced missed
43:47tackles and not falling on your face and earning more and more trust, isn't Basial Tootin doing that to the degree where
43:53we shouldn't really even factor in Chris Rodriguez and this equation at all so far?
43:58Yeah, we talked about this on Fantasy Football Live this morning.
44:01Chris Rodriguez, one of the most dropped players in fantasy last week.
44:04And yeah, I mean, he's going to totally need an injury to to be relevant because he's not even getting goal line work.
44:11So yeah, I mean, Tootin again, it's it's it's probably Josh touchdown or bust a little bit with Basial Tootin because of the role.
44:18But this is an offense that again, it was disappointing in the second half, especially today, but is generally one that I
44:25think is going to score a lot of touchdowns.
44:27So I'm fine. Banking on him is probably more of like a really, really good flex play, but certainly someone I would
44:34not mind being my running back to football is back, which means the lineup debates are already heating up.

45:14All right, Hayden, the overtime game in week two, Green Bay Packers narrowly beat out Aaron Glenn's New York jets by getting
45:21a field goal in overtime after, you know, the jets had their opportunity as well.
45:25I'm looking at the stat sheet and we talked all week about the high flying Packers passing game and it's Jordan loves
45:3216 of 29 for 145 yards, two touchdowns, three sacks taken.
45:35Again, the backfield goes 18 carries for 63 yards and I'm looking at it and it's just Matthew going for for 58 Christian Watson for for 41.
45:43What the heck happened and do we need to slow our roll a little bit?
45:47The Packers did a full 180 across the board.
45:50They were great on special teams. They were great on defense.
45:53They couldn't run the ball and then the past game was a little bit hit and miss as well.
45:59I think maybe the most shocking part about this performance is they had 24 series.
46:03The Green Bay did they started with a rush on 16 of them.
46:07Did it? Did it work? It absolutely didn't work.
46:10Marshawn Lloyd was really bad in this one. They got Caleb Johnson going by the way.
46:14Marshawn Lloyd fumbles the ball sometime in the fourth quarter.
46:17He plays one snap out of the next 22 afterwards.
46:20It was almost all Chris Brooks and then they got Caleb Johnson running the ball for my eyes.
46:26I think that Caleb Johnson was maybe even a little better, a little better than Marshawn Lloyd to the point.
46:32You looked all right. I agree. I think Lloyd's it just done like it's just not going to happen with Marshawn Lloyd.
46:38Like you cannot start Marshawn Lloyd next week after this performance and Josh Jacobs coming back.
46:43And I think just zooming out further, the Packers, they lost the right tackle Zach Bacoboele, who was air cast on the first drive.
46:50He's probably going to be out for the season.
46:53They're rotating a bunch of players on the interior.
46:55One of them hurt his hand early on in that game.
46:59The rest of the offensive linemen were terrible in this one.
47:02Part of the reason why they couldn't run the ball effectively is because of the ground game.
47:07And they didn't run that many plays. It was 46 plays before the over overtime situation because they just could not like
47:13run the ball well and they were trying to run the ball.
47:17They were kind of bleeding clock over there. At least the Packers run defense stopped the Breeze Hall, Braylon Allen one-two punch.
47:23They finally get the ball in overtime and win this one.
47:27It was not the cleanest game at all. Tucker Craft played a whole lot more in this one.
47:32I guess like the big storyline here. Jaden Reed, early, early in the game, spine board, has a neck injury.
47:38Staying overnight at the hospital has a feeling in his extremities.
47:41But you just never like to see the neck injuries in particular.
47:45So that's probably going to be quite a while.
47:47LaFleur, after the game, did not seem very optimistic there.
47:50He was really talking up Lucas Van Ness, who was awesome in this one.
47:54He was really talking up his defensive coordinator. He said he has an elite defensive coordinator, and they did look pretty good.
48:01But you did not hear a whole lot about the offense because, quite frankly, they shouldn't be talking about it.
48:07Okay. Hayden, to follow up on that, we just talked about the Jaguars and how, you know, they played the Browns in week one.
48:14And, you know, it's much different blocking the Broncos than it is the Browns.
48:18And the front five might be a problem. Are we at the point where the Packers front five is a problem?
48:24Obviously, not just for the running game, but also from the passing department.
48:28Yeah, it's getting to that point. I mean, Zach Tom, historically, has been like their best offensive lineman.
48:33He's going to be out for the year now.
48:36So, yeah, it's going to be really tough. Tucker Craft was out there for most of the snaps.
48:41And LaFleur, after the game, said that they almost had to play him at one of the tackle spots because they lost so many offensive linemen.
48:49That's like the state. That's the state of the Packers right now.
48:53I will say this. It's pretty evident who the ball is going to.
48:56Christian Watson is getting some, like, goal line work.
48:59He has another touchdown right at the goal line.
49:02He's obviously the biggest threat for an explosive. The way they're getting the ball to Matthew Golden, it wasn't like the craziest game ever here.
49:09But on a per-route basis, like another win for Matthew Golden.
49:12It's the Romeo Dobbs role. It's a lot of, like, you know, hitches.
49:16Third and three, like, quick slant routes. You had a slant in the red zone.
49:21So there's a lot of, like, little things that are going to Matthew Golden.
49:25He's just, like, way more likely to rip off, you know, a 50-yard game than Romeo Dobbs.
49:30So I think Matthew Golden remains a start. Christian Watson is going to be an excellent player.
49:35He left for a second after getting hit over the middle.
49:38But I just think watching the Packers, like, this offensive line is getting to the point where, Ray, like, you cannot start
49:45a running back for the Packers next week. Like, there's no way.
49:48I wasn't starting Marshawn Lloyd this week. Chris Brooks is playing too much.
49:52And, hey, now just because people are going to ask.
49:55Because people want to chase this backfield. Like, Caleb Johnson, is he even worth some back?
50:00We're not doing that either. Are we not? Okay.
50:02Let the people, because they're going to ask. Hey, you know they're going to ask.
50:07He had eight games. They're going to ask. So you got to tell people so they don't break their pocketbook trying to spin for Caleb Johnson.
50:15Everybody wants this backfield to be Josh Jacobson. The reality is none of them are.
50:19Right? None of those guys are him. So we probably should stop chasing the mythical production that eight gave people when he was active.
50:26Yeah. That was just, like, multiple offensive lines ago when Josh Jacobs was, like, a fun fantasy asset.
50:31And that's not coming back. I would say Caleb Johnson easily is the favorite for most carries next week.
50:37They're not going to go anywhere. And it's probably going to be some semblance of a committee.
50:42And he's a zero in the passing game. Zero.
50:45Zero. And LaFleur said that he's still learning the pass protection rules and all that type of stuff after the game.
50:51So it's like, it's a nothing there. It's Tucker Craft.
50:54Like, he's at least playing enough now, but he's not as featured.
50:57It's Matthew Golden. It's Christian Watson. That's it for Green Bay.
51:01But both those picks are going to be very good ones this year.
51:04Okay. Hey, and I need to ask about the Jets here.
51:08Because Gino goes 27 of 41. 247. One touchdown.
51:10Does take four sacks and some long sacks at that.
51:13But Brees Hall. 16 carries for only 29 yards, including a long gain of 14.
51:18So if I want to do the math, that's 15 carries for 15 yards besides that.
51:22But he's also this team's leading receiver with five targets, five receptions, 63 yards.
51:27But the frustration is there's no touchdown in his column.
51:30But there is for Braylon Allen on five carries for seven yards.
51:33It was a five-yard touchdown as a first in goal in the second quarter for Braylon Allen.
51:38So, you know, that's like fringe goal line work for him.
51:41And then later in the game, fourth and one, everything on the line for the Jets.
51:46They run it out of shotgun with Braylon Allen.
51:49That gets stuck. Lucas Van Ness flies around and makes a big play there.
51:53So I guess like on those two critical moments, it was Braylon Allen.
51:57The good news is everything else went to Brees Hall.
52:00And the boxer is not going to agree with me.
52:03I think Brees Hall looks really good and really healthy.
52:06There's been like too many seasons in a row where I felt like, man, like he's just like not making guys miss.
52:12And if you guys watch his 43-yard screen game, he had a jump cut there that like, I mean, he's got to
52:19be 233 pounds or something like that. He's a big dude.
52:22He should not be jumping laterally like that. So I think that Brees Hall is going to have good moments here.
52:28Even though he's like losing some of the critical work, the reality is he had 16 carries and then five targets in
52:35this one last week when he was splitting time.
52:37He touched the ball 20 times. So that's back-to-back games in a row where they touched the ball 20 times.
52:43And the Jets offense, it wasn't a great offense, but this is like definitely a tier above what we're dealing with the
52:50last couple of years with a way worse quarterback play.
52:53Hayden, can I ask you about Aidy Mitchell's 12 targets?
52:56I'm sure that was a journey, was a roller coaster.
52:59What was the journey like for you? It was a journey.
53:02It's very clear that he's heavily involved. It wasn't that like everything was down the football field either, which is, I mean,
53:08obviously there's gonna be a lot of it like that, but there was a couple of plays underneath like right away in this one.
53:15Garrett Wilson, it was at least getting close to halftime before his first reception, but they still, it's the same type of offense.
53:22It's a lot of 11 personnel. I think it's about 70% of them.
53:26They're the replacement in a slot for Omar Cooper, Isaiah Williams.
53:29He had a couple of plays late in the game and he's got a little bit of bully ball to him underneath
53:36there, but Adonai Mitchell very involved in this one.
53:38And it's not going to be nearly as like balanced of an attack.
53:42Obviously you have those two running backs, like to some degree it is, but that was a lot of dropbacks in this one.
53:49And I thought Gina Smith like played fine enough ball.
53:52Uh, and I saw the green Bay, like their defense, like really stepped up in general.
53:57I want to buy stock of the jets for, because I look, they, they look competent right now, if not good in some moments.
54:04And then this is their schedule coming up. Okay.
54:07Lions, bears, Browns, then the Patriots, and then the dolphins after that.
54:10I mean, four of those next five games are some of the worst defenses that we've seen in the NFL so far.
54:17So, uh, I kind of like these jets assets and like you said, Hayden outside of one or two brilliant Allen touches
54:23here or there, it is very centralized of the pieces that we should care about.
54:28And, uh, compared to all the other teams that we've just, I should have won this game.
54:33I should have won this game. They should have won this game.
54:36They should have won this game. Yep. All right.
54:39Let's talk about the Bengals and the Texans. Oh, and two for the Texans, two and oh, for the Bengals as Cincinnati wins 20 to six.
54:46It won't show up in EPA minus 0.5 for the day.
54:50But I thought Joe Burrow had a hell of a performance came in with a back injury.
54:55His left tackle in Orlando Brown was struggling all day long.
54:58I mean, Will Anderson, Danell Hunter from both sides, sacks, quarterback hits, everything.
55:02But Joe Burrow powered through it and created when he needed to, whether that was T Higgins on a bunch of end
55:08breakers or really two magical touchdowns to Jamar Chase.
55:11The first one, the catch of the day, a twisting one-on-one rep versus Derek Stingley at the front right pylon for 32 yards.
55:18We got the dots. Look at that. I mean, it looks like he's going to slip, but he controls, gets both feet down.
55:25And then after halftime, Joe Burrow avoids upfield disruption, breaks the arm tackle sack in the backfield, gets out into free space
55:31and chase gets free on a crossing route for a 19 yard touchdown.
55:35Again, T got in on the action. In fact, he's the team's leading receiver, 10 targets, five receptions, 95 yards, a third
55:41and five incredible rep also against Derek Stingley on the sideline.
55:45So again, with Burrow nursing that back injury coming in, he got hit, he got tested and he looked back to some of his best self.
55:52And on the opposite end, everything was so difficult here for the Houston Texans.
55:57CJ Stroud might've had like one good play, one good throw every single drive.
56:01They did their best to work in the middle of the fields with wide receivers and especially tight ends.
56:06That's why you see Dalton Schultz, especially at the end, some garbage time stuff with 12 receptions, 140 yards on 14 freaking targets.
56:13But the run game was non-existent. I mean, these guys combined for 14 carries for 18 total yards.
56:18Dexter Lawrence was dominant, including a fourth and inches stop on David Montgomery one-on-one.
56:23I think they might've run the ball with their running backs a total of four times in the entire second half.
56:29So what worked for them last week, albeit just in touchdowns and not necessarily on a yards per carry basis here, Harmon.
56:35Uh, we're back to the drawing board here with the Texans offensive line and their rushing attack.
56:40Yeah. Big step back. Uh, cause at least in week one, you know, they were definitely not explosive.
56:46I don't think either of these guys marks or Montgomery is going to be explosive, but it kind of feels like they're
56:52at least just watching it in week one. And I felt like seeing some of it today is just like, well, they
56:59can really get these guys going downhill. There's a, there's maybe some semblance of a run game, but when they're trying to
57:05do a lot of like zone stuff, past things, it doesn't, it doesn't really work.
57:10Yeah. It's, it's a mess for this team. So I also think too, like, this is just one of those teams that
57:16when you don't have your wide receiver one and Nico Collins, you're, you're effed.
57:20And I feel like this team is, if he has to miss next week too, against the Colts, a team he usually tears up.
57:27I think they're probably going to be effed again.
57:30Yeah. Hey, correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounded like this morning they reported as like a possible multi-week thing here with Nico Collins.
57:37Is that correct? God. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it's probably going to be another week or so.
57:42It didn't sound, they didn't put them on IR.
57:45So I'll be back soon enough, but I agree with you guys.
57:49I mean, it doesn't matter if he's not out there.
57:52I mean, this offensive line, I always felt like every single off season, they're like, they changed the offensive line.
57:57It'll get better. It was like, but they're not adding anybody good on the offensive lines.
58:02Like why should we expect different results? I mean, that that's a problem.
58:06They had one successful run in this one, the bottom zero percentile in games here, negative 0.8 EPA per run for the Texans here.
58:13Six of them went backwards, according to our friend Nate Tice over there.
58:17I mean, that's, that's like predictable too. Like that's, I think the sad part about this is in last week, David Montgomery
58:23got home, but like on two plays and then the other 16 plays went nowhere.
58:28And if you're looking at like success rate right now, like the Texans run game is one of the worst in the league.
58:35Yeah. The bangles today, the according to next year in stats, the highest pressure rate since Al Golden has taken over his
58:41DC 43 and a half percent pressure rate, all the investments on the defensive side of the ball, eight sacks, four forced fumbles and one touchdown this season.
58:49I did that. The defense is giving them a chance in this, this Houston, Texas team.
58:54Oh, and two right now. It doesn't look like Nico's going to play.
58:58We talked about it last week with Monty at the 20 carries, but if you watched it, it didn't look particularly great.
59:05Like this is a problem for Houston without Nico Collins.
59:07And again, these teams that don't have answers for the primary being out and there are no secondary options that truly threaten the defense.
59:15It just makes tough sledding for us in fantasy trying to chase these other things.
59:19I'm like, we're at a point y'all where we just need to say like, there are certain teams where you want one
59:26guy or we don't even want to mess around with anybody in Houston.
59:29It's like, you know, I don't want to tell people to feel like you have to just jam Montgomery and depending on who they play.
59:37If Nico's not out there, this was bad. They looked bad.
59:40Yep. Something I do want to watch for the Bengals.
59:43They are much better along the defensive line. And again, Dexter Lawrence was both eating and splitting double teams and just living in the backfield.
59:50And they are quite deep along edge rusher, despite, you know, losing Trey Hendrickson.
59:54They have like a bunch of names, including Shamar Stewart, who got a sack here.
59:59And, you know, CJ Stroud took four sacks in this game.
60:02But their linebacker area that middle of the field is maybe something that's a bit susceptible to where they can get got.
60:09So that's something I want to keep in mind with some talents against them moving forward.
60:13Yeah. I mean, look, Kayshawn Booty three for 37.
60:16Xavier Hutchinson three for 37. I mean, Foster Moreau pops up for a 25 yarder.
60:20Jared Wayne pops up for an 18 yarder. They just honestly, the best running back moment that they had was a third
60:27and 12 that Woody Marks took and then barreled through some defenders and got the first down.
60:32So it's it's rough. And then again, on the Bengals, I'll just close with some of the under center work really helped
60:39chase Brown in terms of the rushing. Like short 20 for 80 in a normal game might not be great.
60:44I'll take 20 for 80 every single day of the week against Houston Texans defense, along with three extra catches.
60:50So I thought Chase Brown was very dependable on this and got almost all of the work.
60:55And this Bengals offensive line was tested. They had their moments in terms of sacks and quarterback hits.
61:01At the same time, they did just enough to like give protection and for the Bengals to win this one in the end.
61:07Okay. We'll move it on. I mean, we might look back on this as the biggest upset of the season.
61:13Cleveland Browns fricking won a game and it wasn't until week 12.
61:17It was in week two, 23 to 19 after like a six hour weather delay here, Harmon.
61:22Oh my God. I'm looking at the box score to Sean Watson, 24 of 30, two 38, two touchdowns.
61:28Compare that to Baker Mayfield, 21 to 34, one 82, one touchdown, one interception.
61:32Looks like to Sean was the much better quarterback here.
61:35Yeah, this is to Sean Watson's best game in a Cleveland Browns uniform by EPA per drop back, which is outrageous.
61:41So it's the eighth best game he's had since the 2020 season.
61:44These are all the dates that are ahead of today's 0.2 EPA per drop back.
61:49November 26, 2020, October 18th, 2020, November 22nd, 2020, October 11th, 2020, December 27th, 2020, the first of January in 2021, a playoff game.
61:56And then the eighth of November in 2020. So it's like Deshaun Watson's best game since the pandemic season.
62:02And that is just embarrassing. It's humiliating how bad the Bucks defense is right now.
62:06That was one of my biggest takeaways from this game.
62:09And frankly, it was one of my biggest takeaways from the first week.
62:13Their linebackers are brutal in coverage. Alex Anzalone has been one of the worst.
62:17I'm sorry. This is really mean, but he's been one of the worst players in football through the first two weeks.
62:23He's been a disaster. Free agent signing. Can't tackle.
62:26There's no underneath coverage. Like this was a moment where Deshaun didn't even really have to force it and could just kind
62:32of take what the defense gave him because the defense was giving him everything.
62:36And this is like a consistent, if I was a Bucks fan, I'd be irate right now.
62:41Cause this is a consistent theme with Todd Bowles's defense as the replies to that Deshaun Watson tweet reminded me.
62:47And I was like, folks, I don't need a reminder that every, every bad quarterback looks great against this defense.
62:53Cause it's just like, if you can find, especially if you're a veteran, if you can find the open spots where the
63:00blitz are coming, it's going to be there. And you can just kind of, again, matriculate the football down the field as Deshaun Watson did in this game.
63:08I mean, this is like, this is the guy they wanted to bench.
63:12There were reports this morning about how like they basically were all ready to just bench him after this game and start
63:18Shador Sanders in week three in the home opener.
63:21And he won the football game and had his best game in years.
63:25Like the Bucks defense and the offense isn't great.
63:28We'll talk about it. But the Bucks defense is really bad.
63:31If you want like a fantasy relevant take, Denzel Boston was awesome in this game.
63:35I can't believe this guy was a second round pick.
63:38He ran the most routes among all the receivers, you know, Casey Concepcion and Jerry Judy are a little bit like redundant
63:45in some of the targets that they get, which is a little bit of a problem for Casey.
63:50Cause he does get a lot of designery stuff.
63:53But yeah, Boston could have even had a bigger game too.
63:56Cause he had like a tight coverage go route that he lost at the very, very last second along the left sideline.
64:02So 94% team high in the routes rate made, made a bunch of guys miss on his post route touchdown where he just took off.
64:10So Boston's been really good. A standout player for this team, which was a consistent drum beat in training camp in OTAs
64:16and has definitely led into the season. He is a hit for them.
64:20I liked the fact that they got hero fan and involved Matt.
64:24And I know that he didn't get a lot until late in the game last week, but the fact that he was
64:30involved in the offense today was good. And again, not trying to be mean here, but leaving Jerry Judy out of the
64:37mix, they need to just roll with Boston and fan and Casey Concepcion.
64:41It didn't look like they fooled around with Jerry Judy a lot.
64:44Can you just talk about fan and juniors involvement?
64:47And then when I'm just looking at the box score, right?
64:5019 yard average for it for Denzel Boston. I know the big play was a big part of that, but 10.8 yards
64:57per catch for, for Harold fan into the 4.7 for conception.
65:00And I would like for them to give him some more real route stuff inside this offense, but talk about fan and
65:06at that tight end spot, six targets for him as well.
65:10Yeah. They kind of need to just get like Judy off the team.
65:13I think, cause he's still running like 69% of the routes.
65:17If he's not getting target. Yeah, they should. And you know, I don't know, it's like a wide receiver needy team.
65:23He's just such a mercurial player is Jerry Judy.
65:26I, it's tough to find a home for him, but yeah, fan and was good in this game.
65:31He had one third down drop in the first quarter, but that was the only target that went his way that he didn't catch.
65:38So he was definitely useful again. He's he's like tight ends are going to, are going to smoke this team all season.
65:44The Tampa Buccaneers, cause they can't cover with their linebackers right now.
65:48I'm getting a little bit nervous with the Browns and that Boston's pretty good.
65:52Fannin's pretty good. Concepcion's pretty good. Quinton Judkins is pretty good.
65:55Like almost to the point where you might start them.
65:58And then here comes the rug pull in the next time.
66:02So that's, yes, that's like, that's like back in my mind.
66:05Uh, I, I did want to say on Jerry Judy, the Browns would save almost $4 million if they can trade them.
66:11Um, and like they should just figure that out.
66:14Like that's a tradable contract. Who do you think wants him?
66:17That's, that's the problem. Who wants him? I mean, the, yeah, I mean, there, there will be teams that use someone.
66:23Yeah. Yeah. There's always a team that could, that could, frankly, I hate, I hate to say this cause it'd be nice
66:30if they could just have like a real professional wide receiver, but he would actually make sense for the chiefs.
66:36Cause they have no one who can beat man coverage and like Jerry, Jerry Judy can run TikTok, TikTok routes and beat man coverage.
66:43So my homes like sitting there buying some time for Judy's like six second routes to get open.
66:48That actually might make a little bit of sense.
66:51Matt, I have to ask about the Buccaneers. Okay.
66:54They gave Baker Mayfield the contract in the 11th hour prior to the season.
66:58If you go back to last year, the Bucs have now lost nine of their last 11 games.
67:03Uh, Todd Bowles has seen Dave Canales go on to be his OC and then a head coach, Liam Cohen, his OC to go be a head coach.
67:11Grizzard fired after one year. I saw Buccaneers fans already calling for Zach Robinson's head as offensive coordinator here.
67:17Uh, Bucky Irving great with 17 carries for 89 yards.
67:20That's 5.2 yards per pop. Then I look at the past catching the Mecca Buga sweet, a touchdown, but on five targets,
67:26three reception, 16 yards, Chris Godwin three for 46 and Tez Johnson is a leading receiver one for 49.
67:32Is this already broken? There's so much like Tez Johnson in this offense.
67:36And, and then when they came back from the two minutes, like for all, they came back into the two minute drill
67:42because they let the game stopped when they were going into the two minute.
67:47And then it was about six hours later that the game resumed.
67:50They were peppering Tez, uh, Ted Hertz. Uh, and to the point that like, he almost had what would have been the game winning touchdown.
67:57Uh, he, it just eventually slipped like out of his hands at the very last minute.
68:02Uh, so that's been a little bit Rocky. Obviously Jalen McMillan is not healthy, which has been the story for Jalen McMillan.
68:09Unfortunately, as a player, um, they, they're one of, they're very similar to the chargers to me, Joshua.
68:14It just feels like they've got a lot going on, not from like a personnel standpoint.
68:19They do kind of just run out the same group of players.
68:22Like they're an 11 personnel team. A book is on the field all the time.
68:27Godwin's on the field all the time. K to Otten is on the field all the time.
68:32And then it is kind of in this one, a little bit more rotating between, uh, our guy, Ted Hurst and Tez Johnson.
68:39I mean, not that they're either of our guys, but you know what I'm saying?
68:43Like they actually do. This is a team that needs a second tight end badly because they're a little bit predictable.
68:49And the most that they can do is like mess around with the funky motions and stuff, which like a book gets open on.
68:56He could, he was open for the fourth down.
68:59What would have been the game winning touchdown and Baker just missed him.
69:03Like whistles once again, just to flat out like an accurate.
69:06Yeah. It was even bad through two, through two games.
69:09There's no question. Like, and this wasn't even the, just, you know, poop your pants mistakes that he made in the first
69:16one where he's just careless with the football. This was like inaccurate.
69:19He's overthrowing guys. Uh, you know, he gets his interception.
69:22Like they're running a bunch of man coverage in early on in this game are the Cleveland Browns.
69:27They mix it up with a one zone coverage look and he just gets fooled by a drop defender.
69:33And it's like, dude, you're so deep in your career at this point.
69:37You cannot make that throw. So it was a, it was another bad Baker game.
69:41Unfortunately, Herman, can I just ask you like no data, no stats, just eye test and feel watching the game.
69:47Cause to me, it isn't another one of those inexcusable losses.
69:50What is the difference between this year's Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense and the offense that we saw with Mike Evans healthy last
69:57year with the book in his role, looking like the next coming of a star receiver in the NFL.
70:03Like just what is going on in Tampa Bay?
70:05I don't know, man. And like the offensive line hasn't, hasn't been quite like the dominant unit that you would think, especially
70:12in the past protection game, which makes it worse for Baker Mayfield.
70:15It does feel like things need to be white hot for Mayfield to really run.
70:20Well, I don't know. The whole team is just, there's a lot of malaise to it right now.
70:25You know, Todd Bowles is back and Todd Bowles doesn't really have answers on either side of the ball.
70:31Nobody's really playing up to their potential because I think the offense is just, like I said, there's a lot going on
70:37here with all the shifts and the motions and they just feel very disorganized.
70:41They just need like a, they need a settle down moment to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
70:46But I think it is going to be a problem that the defense is so bad too, because it's going to put
70:52them in a lot of these situations where they need to throw the ball.
70:57Their mistake was letting Liam Cohen go. I mean, it was, it would have been painful to do it.
71:02Todd Bowles like won a Super Bowl, not too long before that, but Liam Cohen had the good stuff and Todd Bowles defense been really hot.
71:10At least with the Buccaneers next week, they only have to face the Vikings defense.
71:14So unsettle. Oh my God. Minnesota. Minnesota. Everything that we've learned though, Hayden, through two weeks is that Baker Mayfield's about to throw for 350 and four touchdowns.
71:23Probably. Against that Vikings defense. Everything is so unpredictable.
71:25One more thing about this game. One more thing about this game, Josh.
71:29It stinks, by the way, if you have Quinchon Judkins on your roster, that this is a game they won and he still did.
71:36I mean, he scammed his way to five catches, but he still did absolutely nothing on the ground.
71:42Not great. Yep. Okay. Let's talk about a good team.
71:44It's 31 to 37. Ray, I see a hat trick of touchdowns from JSN.
71:49Like he thinks he's Brian Broby. Nine receptions, 155 yards, three scores on just 11 targets.
71:53We can talk about that before we get into this backfield weirdness.
71:57So just overall with the Seahawks, 19 of 26 for Drew Locke, 235, three scores.
72:01Compare that to Jacover's set against the Seattle defense, 17 of 28, just 95 yards.
72:06Two sacks taken there too. Yeah, this one might be a little quicker of a recap.
72:11And I guess we could focus in on individuals because it never really felt like Arizona had a chance.
72:16I mean, that Jackson Smith and Jigba 82 yarder was on the second play from scrimmage for Seattle.
72:21And we said this last week about Carson Wentz getting the ball to Justin Jefferson.
72:26Drew Locke understood the assignment. Get the ball to Jackson Smith and Jigba.
72:30Now Rashid Shahid did have, I think, six or seven targets in the game.
72:34But it was, it was JSN with another 40% target share outing.
72:37And I know a lot of people said this thing again.
72:41Remember the conversation that I, he probably can't repeat that again.
72:44I don't know if he's going to get like, it's all Jackson Smith and Jigba.
72:48Career high. He's running open. He's catching short, deep.
72:51It doesn't matter. And that 82 yarder wasn't busted coverage.
72:54I mean, it's a filthy double move. I don't know why you were singled up on him anyway.
72:59Touchdown. I mean, Drew Locke, get the ball to Jackson Smith and Jigba.
73:03There's really nobody else that you feel confident starting, at least from the pass catcher side of the ball.
73:09It's just, this is, again, a good team. And I am going to continue this theme of coaches and offensive coordinators.
73:15Give Blind Flurry credit. This, this dude, there is a fullback.
73:18Number 38. Russell is his last name. Make fullbacks great again.
73:21Because my goodness, they are orbit, like they're orbit motioning him back into the backfield and then getting him to kick out
73:28the edge rushers and just opening up lanes for Emmanuel Wilson, whoever else is back there running the ball.
73:34But it's, it's, it's creative. I like what I'm seeing.
73:37This team is well coached. They've got a great defense, but offensively it's Jackson Smith and Jigba full stop.
73:42Okay. 40% time. Yeah. I have to ask about this backfield Ray.
73:46The Seahawks played forever ago in week one, but just the box score reads 13 carries for 52 yards for Jadarian price with a long gain of 25.
73:54And then Emmanuel Wilson, who only played the short yard stuff in week one, 21 carries for 92 yards.
74:00So was this, Hey, the Seahawks are way up on the scoreboard.
74:03So we gave Emmanuel Wilson more, or was this how it was throughout the game?
74:08And not only do we have a bit of a Helani split, we also have an Emmanuel Wilson split with Jadarian.
74:14Okay. So we did get George Helani out of the way so that we can, we can move on from that.
74:20It was Jadarian price early. He did fumble the ball.
74:23And I thought, Oh, fumble from Jadarian price. You lost it.
74:26Emmanuel, but they went back to him. What ended up happening late.
74:30Josh was they said rib injury, a chest injury is what it said.
74:34And then a lot of the Twitter doctors were saying that AKA means ribs.
74:38And once that happened, once he took a shot, it was a outside zone play.
74:42He tried to cut it back, took a big hit.
74:45You didn't see him anymore. I'm almost positive. Emmanuel Wilson had eight straight rush attempts in the fourth quarter.
74:51It was just Wilson, Wilson, Wilson, Wilson. He set a career high in the game.
74:55I know Wilson in the game, career high. So this wasn't like it was a true split between those two.
75:01It was a lot of Jadarian price early. And again, he looked good, but it's just like one play, break the tackle, hit the big play.
75:09But I thought he played well and look well, but we're going to have to monitor the chest slash rib injury.
75:15But Emmanuel Wilson was clearly the guy, not George Helani after that injury took place.
75:19Okay. I'm worried. I mean, I'm worried. Well, that just makes it sound like in an alternate timeline, that's not too far from this one.
75:27Jadarian price could have just had a monster week two and we just get really excited moving forward.
75:32Hey, I hear you. I hear you. Hey, hey, I hear you, man.
75:36And I'm not trying to, I'm not trying to cope or make up for it, but something had happened to him and they just took him out.
75:44He didn't play. They were up and they were just salting the game away.
75:48So it would have been a perfect opportunity to let him run the rock.
75:52He went and checked out by the trainers and they didn't play him anymore.
75:56So the report was injury. Even after the fumble, they went right back to him and started to give him touches.
76:03So I really do think that at least in this case, it was something injury related as to why, especially in the
76:09fourth quarter, you didn't see him down the stretch much.
76:12Okay, let's talk the Cardinals here. We know last season went down 31 to seven or 21 to seven entering fourth quarters.
76:19That's when they sparked up. That's when Jacoby Brissett flew it all over the yard.
76:23You can't do that against Seattle. It's much more difficult.
76:26And so now through two weeks, Marvin Harrison Jr.
76:29has one catch for 33 yards. Kendrick Bourne pops up for two for 11 here.
76:33Michael Wilson, two for 18. Jeremiah Love has a total of 12 touches for 45 yards.
76:38And Trey McBride is the only one that gets home on 10 targets, eight receptions, 41 yards and a score.
76:44No one should have been Cardinals curious today. Is that fair?
76:47No, no, we are not. We are not Cardinals curious against the Seahawks.
76:51I just want to make that statement very well known.
76:54This was honestly, this was BTA situation. This was built to you know what.
76:58The Seahawks were just a better team. If you just look at time of possession, Arizona only had the ball for 23 minutes in the game.
77:06That's it. They did not have the ball. They rarely had the ball.
77:09They couldn't do much besides throw the ball to Trey McBride.
77:13Jeremiah Love, nothing. Tyler Algier. Every time they threw it to him, I'm like, who is this with the ball and why is he moving so slow?
77:21Just complete slug out there when he's trying to matriculate the ball down the field.
77:25Like, why is Jeremiah Love not happening? And when you see this, seven touches isn't like this great number that you want, but that's a nat.
77:33Like, that should be Jeremiah Love's work. Not that he was any better, but he was out there slow as all get out.
77:40They barely had the ball. And then offensively, I'm done.
77:42Y'all, I'm done. I've made excuses. I've made videos about it.
77:46I've looked at the routes. Marv, his demeanor on the sideline, he's not even a part of the game plan.
77:52It's Trey McBride. It's Michael Wilson. It's throw the ball to anybody other than number 18.
77:56And I'm not going to just give it. It wasn't like Witherspoon was man-to-man on him.
78:01Josh Jobe is good. But my goodness, you're Marvin Harrison Jr., the fourth overall pick.
78:06You're supposed to be this guy. I'm done. I think that's it.
78:09Looney Tunes, Curtain, that's all, folks. You're talking about trading receivers around?
78:13What's the likelihood he gets his tail moved? Because he's not a part of this game plan, not a part of the offense.
78:19I'm done. Matt, I'll throw this to you. In 10-team leagues, is Marvin Harrison droppable?
78:24We're talking about 6% targets per route right now.
78:27And I don't know what's going to change. You don't have to drop him.
78:31But if you had to, I think that he's firmly on that list.
78:34Yeah, and 10 teams. I mean, also, by the way, 0% of people should have started him today.
78:400% of people. There was no reason to think he was going to have a big game in this one.
78:46And I mean, I'll still hold a little candle for Marv.
78:49But I mean, yeah. It just, what do you want to do?
78:53This is an offensive through for 95 yards today.
78:55And he's the guy that runs the sacrificial routes.
78:58Matt, you're not even holding the candle. You're holding the match that's burned down to the bottom.
79:03And it's the little wood stick. Like, that's what we're holding at this point for Marv, man.
79:08Yeah, I think Mike LaFleur was asked about Marv at the end of the game.
79:12And he said, I'm, quote, not concerned. All right, you're just lying.
79:16Like, you're just straight up lying, if that's the case.
79:19Okay, let's move on. Eagles fans were incredibly concerned.
79:21I mean, Broadway might have burned down if they went to Nashville and lost to the Cincy Titans.
79:27But in the end, a final drive touchdown to put it on 24 to 20.
79:31Hayden, I'm looking all across the board. And this seems all over the place for the Eagles offense.
79:37And Jalen Hurts has two interceptions, but also two touchdowns.
79:40Looks like Saquon Barkley left for the vast majority of the game.
79:43So Tank Bigsby gets here for 13 carries, 33 yards and one touchdown.
79:47Move around some offensive linemen. Did not work from a rushing game standpoint.
79:51But the headliner, or two, Devontae Smith, 10 catches, 117 yards and a score.
79:55And then Dontavion Wicks, five for 74. Devontae Smith was the best player in this game.
80:00Jalen Hurts was second. And then Dontavion Wicks made a couple of key plays in this one.
80:05The ground game, it's almost over. They moved Cam Juergens to left guard.
80:08And he had a really tough time in both phases.
80:11He obviously had to face Jeffrey Simmons, who absolutely just crumbled the pocket for one of the Jalen Hurts interceptions.
80:17But through the first two games, they have a 32% success rate on early down runs.
80:22That is dead last in the NFL. Maybe the Texans are right there after their game was over.
80:27But they just can't run the ball. Saquon left off the first play with a stinger.
80:32He comes back after halftime, plays about like a dozen snaps, and then was not able to finish the game.
80:38He's had a history of stingers. And when we're talking about nerves, you just don't know if that's going to be a
80:45short-term thing or if that can linger a little bit.
80:48So we just don't know. It was pretty clear.
80:50Tank Bigsby, the early down guy. And then there was quite a bit of Will Shipley in this one, more in the pass protection stuff.
80:58But Tank Bigsby had a patient goal line touchdown.
81:00I think zooming back out with the Eagles, this team kind of just has to live and die by the pass, which sounds crazy.
81:07But the run stuff is just not going to work right now with their interior offensive line play.
81:13They have a new center now. Cam Juergens is not himself.
81:16And I was listening to some of the Eagles reporters.
81:19Cam Juergens, he didn't have any reps at guard in this offseason.
81:22So the communication between Juergens and Mailata was really, really bad in this one.
81:27There was two really bad interceptions from Jalen Hurts.
81:29And I don't want to do like the, but beside that, but beside that, Jalen Hurts had a really awesome game, throwing
81:36the ball down the field when he held onto the ball for more than three and a half seconds, plus 0.3 EPA per play.
81:43A lot of that was to Devontae Smith, who had four receptions on this game winning drive there.
81:48Some second phase plays from this duo on top of that.
81:51But man, this was way too close. And the reason why this was close is because the Eagles can't run the ball.
81:58I mean, that just is so freaking frustrating to me.
82:01I mean, it's so frustrating. They do get the Bears next.
82:04Like maybe this is a get right spot, but we'll see.
82:07That's let's put a pin in that. Hey, maybe this might be the most positive we're going to be about the Tennessee Titans for weeks.
82:15Did Cam Ward play well? He did not play bad.
82:18I can't say he played well. I mean, I guess considering the opponent.
82:22Yes, this was a neutral, which is a win for Cam Ward.
82:25There was not like complete back breaking plays that he's had out there.
82:29I think maybe the surprise part for the Tennessee Titans is one.
82:32There was kind of the same rotation between the two running backs.
82:36I thought Pollard looked really good. And then at the end of the game, TyJ Spears had a huge play on the sideline.
82:43Like third and 22. Yeah, they had a couple of weird big moments like that.
82:47And in the past game, the guy that stood out the most was Elik Ayuminor, who hurtled a defender who also like
82:54on a third and 12 had an in cut for a first down.
82:58He was playing a little bit more. And I think that we can throw Calvin Ridley in that conversation with Jerry Judy
83:04that there's no reason for Calvin Ridley to be on this football team.
83:08Like he can be a wide receiver three for a team out there.
83:12And they do seem like they want to get Elik Ayuminor going a little bit.
83:16Nothing from Wondell Robinson. Carnal Tate up and down game.
83:19I wouldn't say it's a win or a loss for Carnal Tate in particular.
83:23I would just say versus an Eagles defense that it's like Vic Fangio and a pass rush that can get home.
83:29It was not a bad game from Cam Ward.
83:32And I would consider that a win. I know all of us have kind of taken shots at Cam Ward recently.
83:38But, Ray, I would say this was like a passable grade for Cam Ward, which I have not said in quite a while.
83:45You know, I was ready. I was ready. Hayden, I was ready to say something.
83:50But it was – I like how you described it.
83:53It wasn't great, but it wasn't awful as well.
83:55I thought some of his receivers – I know Carnal Tate had alligator arms early in the game.
84:01It would have been a tough catch and get a hit, but he dropped the ball.
84:05I mean, just – I think for me, I know I went on record saying today I'm not trusting in starting any
84:12Tennessee Titan and coming out of this one, Hayden.
84:14I don't know if I really feel any better about anybody.
84:18I benched Tony Pollard in our league. Maybe he's playable.
84:21But is there – how do you feel about the passing game?
84:24Carnal Tate, Wondell Robinson, Gunnar Helm, are those guys just bench players?
84:28Just do not start them right now? Yeah, you can't start any of them.
84:32Carnal Tate's probably going to be their best guy this year, but he's not going to have like the gimme targets.
84:38And we didn't get the Wondell Robinson scam touches here.
84:41He only had one target here. Like, there will be weeks where we are going to get those scam targets.
84:47I can promise you that Brian D'Abel can't control himself.
84:50So I would say in a pass game, nothing.
84:53Tony Pollard was out there for some of the goal line reps.
84:56He did have twice as many carries as TyJ Spears.
84:59I guess in like a 12-team league, Tony Pollard is like a flex candidate.
85:03I hope you have a better play than that at this point.
85:07And Tony Pollard did get like the first and the second drive.
85:10So it's still TyJ Spears kind of climbing uphill.
85:13I would say you don't want to start any Tennessee Titans.
85:16Like, that's coming off of probably one of the best offensive games in quite a while.
85:21I think that's my point. Right. And a game that was not bad for Cam Ward.
85:26The two players that we drafted or could theoretically have been drafted as receivers and Colonel Tate and Wondell Robinson did very, very, very little.
85:33And it seemed like you asked, hey, can anyone be trusted?
85:36Kind of seems like Brian D'Abel and company didn't want to put this game in Cam Ward's hands to the tune that,
85:43you know, they had 29 carries versus 20 dropbacks.
85:45And that's probably the way to try to beat this Vic Fangio defense, especially when you get kind of two early turnovers on that.
85:53All right. Let's keep it moving. Matt, big rebound for the New England Patriots.
85:57Being the Pittsburgh Steelers, 20 to three. We know the Patriots have no more wide receivers after A.J.
86:02Brown. I'm wondering if Aaron Rodgers is back to where we were before.
86:06I mean, 23 of 39, 187. That's a 4.8 yards per attempt.
86:09Four sacks taken on top of it for 43 yards lost.
86:13And then compare that to the Patriots who get back one of their playmakers in Trivion Henderson.
86:18And really his 39 yard touchdown early in this game was kind of the difference in the entire game.
86:23Yeah. Just quickly on the Patriots. I don't feel great about their offense coming out of this one, especially his right cackle.
86:30Michael Wenwu fractured his ankle. So, I mean, that's a serious injury.
86:33They also just kind of lived off explosive plays in this game.
86:37Not just the Travion Henderson one came on a kind of a shotgun draw, 39 yard touchdown.
86:42He was almost untouched on that one. Just completely free lane there.
86:45Otherwise, the run game kind of was what it was.
86:48It was definitely a much better day for Romeo Dobbs, though, to give credit to Romeo Dobbs.
86:53Like we're saying they have no receivers, but this was actually what you would imagine if you thought about like what Romeo Dobbs would be.
87:01He did have one kind of like what I would say was a drop-ish where he's it's behind him and he's got
87:07to like just make an adjustment to get the hand.
87:10Get the hands on it, but he had some explosive plays.
87:14Drake may had four plays of 20 plus yards in this game after zero in week one.
87:19He did also have like kind of a slight fadeaway interception under pressure on the first drive of the second half right
87:25after a nice grab from Romeo Dobbs. But that was a terrible pick from Drake May.
87:30But yeah, Romeo Dobbs ran the most routes on this team, and he was like basically just an outside receiver, which is
87:36why this the construction of this room is very weird.
87:39Because if AJ Brown is there, they use him as just a pure outside receiver.
87:44And Dobbs basically only had success as kind of like an ex-receiver for the Green Bay Packers.
87:49So the whole room is weird. I don't feel great about them.
87:52It was a slog of a day for New England offensively.
87:56They just happen to be playing against what I think is a completely, completely hopeless unit in the Pittsburgh series.
88:01Like, honestly, guys, I don't know where they go from here, and I don't know where you want me to start.
88:08But they got their butts kicked today, especially up front.
88:11Like the offensive line was wrecked. According to next-gen stats, Spencer Anderson gave up seven quarterback pressures in this one and also a sack.
88:18So brutal day all around for the passing offense.
88:20I don't know where you guys want me to start, but I mean, I have nothing but really bad things to say.
88:27Okay. So, yeah, what answers do we have, right?
88:30I see Jalen Warren, 11 carries, 43 yards. Rico Dattles, 7 for 22.
88:33I think Rico left in the game. Yeah, he was carted off at one point, came back in the second half.
88:40Okay. Wow. Paul Pierce of him. And then we have the receiving usage.
88:43Our guy, the gamer, and Jeremy Bernard pops up with the second most targets with 8, 4 for 35.
88:49And then, Matt, I have to ask, after DK has hidden yards in week one and the underlying metrics love him, once
88:56again, he pops up with nine targets, the most in the team.
88:59But that only equals 4 for 27. So is DK Metcalf just almost better in theory than he is in practice?
89:05And how long is that going to last? First on Jeremy Bernard, he had like three consecutive catches at one point in this game.
89:12I was like, ooh, Jeremy's kind of heating up here.
89:15But I think his final target of the day was a bobbled screen pass.
89:19He popped it up into the air and it ended up going for an interception.
89:24He did run 86% of the routes, but it was just a pretty brutal moment.
89:28Doghouse. Yeah, that was one of the – I don't know.
89:32You can't doghouse somebody for turnovers when Aaron Rodgers – I mean, he did get lit up at one point.
89:38Sack, fumble, they recover the fumble. It ended up being a fourth and 43, by the way.
89:43Never seen fourth and 43 in my life, but that's how that went.
89:46And then another sack, fumble early in the fourth.
89:49So a lot of turnovers, not just from Jeremy Bernard, from the quarterback too.
89:53On DK Metcalf. At one point, JJ Watt said they need DK Metcalf to be, you know, a wide receiver one, paraphrasing here and that.
90:01I'm like, here's the problem, boys. He's not. Like, he hasn't been for several years and they paid him a dumb contract
90:07after that trade that makes him – again, where he's just not that guy at this point.
90:12He has 19 targets through two games. Only four players have more targets than that.
90:17Amon Ross St. Brown, Chris Olave, Trey McBride, and Dalton Schultz somehow.
90:20He has 67 yards. That is the same amount of yards as David Njoku, who was carted off today.
90:2673 players have more yards than DK Metcalf right now, including Ryan Miller of the Miami Dolphins.
90:31So it's been a horrific start to the year for DK Metcalf.
90:34And today was one of those situations where he was going to be banged no matter what because he gets the shadow
90:41treatment from Christian Gonzalez, who's like a way better corner than he is a receiver.
90:45And they basically just only stick him on the outside and run low percentage routes with the quarterback who only throws low percentage routes.
90:52So, I mean, DK's screwed in fantasy and in real life, again, the whole – like, they need him to be something that he's just not.
91:00Didn't he drop three or four as well? Yes, he also dropped a bunch of passes too.
91:05Yeah, they said that three or four, he had just another drop, another drop.
91:09And then he wants to push and shove Christian Gonzalez because he's pissed off.
91:13Like, you're dropping the ball. That's the thing. Like, you're not going to get that many clean opportunities in this game.
91:20And the clean opportunities he did get, he pretty much dropped them all.
91:23So. Matt, my last question just goes to the Patriots backfield.
91:27Now that we got Hendo back in, I believe I saw Ramondre fumbled early on in this game too.
91:32So we close with 16 carries for Hendo versus 6 for Ramondre.
91:36Are there any sweeping conclusions we can take from this?
91:39Ramondre fumbled on the first drive too, by the way.
91:42So you start off with your wrong foot there if you're Ramondre Stevenson.
91:46Yeah, Hederson ended up playing more snaps, got way more carries.
91:49You know, Stevenson was pretty much shelled at one point after the fumble, came back later in the game.
91:54I think, again, with another – with an offensive line injury here, Eli Raritan also got hurt in this game after he
92:01had a splash catch, and he's a pretty useful blocker for them.
92:04I just really wonder, like, if this offense is going to be bad, and we're not going to – we're going to be talking about a split backfield.
92:13With the rushing game too? And we're talking about a split backfield on a team that's really shaky.
92:18And Henderson, yeah, he had the one explosive play, and like Henderson, he can do that.
92:23But I'm still kind of waiting on him being more of like a consistent down-to-down threat, and I don't know that we saw that in this game necessarily.
92:31They're in Jacksonville next week too, which is like historically just a really awesome run defense team.
92:36If we don't have good answers, both of them are going to be hard to trust.
92:41I will say after that, at Buffalo, Raiders, Jets, Bears, Dolphins in a row there.
92:45So, like, if you want to dream big on Travion, like, in a little bit here, I think that you – this
92:52was like the first bit of evidence in, like, what, eight, nine months that we've had of Travion Henderson?
92:57So, like, I still want to, like, count this as a win.
93:01Yeah, there was like an eight-game stretch last year where the only successful runs this team had when both were out there
93:07were the outside pitches to Travion Henderson. And I'm wondering if we're kind of getting back to that already.
93:13All right. I know offenses have been struggling across the league, but not Bryce Young.
93:17Not this one. Not the Panthers. They dominate. And I mean dominate.
93:21The Atlanta Falcons, 34-33. This is another three-touchdown game from Bryce Young.
93:25The first, a fourth and goal from the three-yard line.
93:27Dave Canales puts his nuts on the table immediately.
93:30Chuba Hubbard receiving touchdown. Next, after that, a couple field goals.
93:33Bryce gets the ball with 1-0-2 left on the clock ahead of halftime on his own 27.
93:38Immediate sack. Second and 16. He rips it. 55 yards to Xavier Lee Get.
93:43Yes. Down the heart of the defense. Splits both the safeties.
93:46Three plays later, a third down touchdown pass to Mr.
93:49High Rocks himself, Darren Waller. His first of two on the day.
93:52Then out of halftime, another third and 12. A perfectly timed throw route from Bryce Young to Jalen Coker for a first down.
93:59Then he gets a single high look. A blitzer directing his face.
94:03Bryce Young lobs it to the left to Tedron McMillan.
94:0629 yards. One-on-one along the sideline. Third and fourth scramble to set up first and goal.
94:10And then yes, on first and goal again. Threaded 12-yard touchdown to Darren Waller for a second of the day.
94:16That puts the Panthers up 27-3. Now, that's good.
94:19But the real MVP, and yes, he'll be the defensive player of the week.
94:23He did something that no one's ever done in history since like 1950.
94:27Devin Lloyd, the free agent linebacker for the Panthers.
94:30Pass breakup on the first drive to force an early interception.
94:33Another interception on Cooper Rush later on. A tackle for loss on Drake London that Tommy Reese, instead of a fourth and one to hand off to Bijan.
94:41Instead, he calls an end around to Drake London who gets tackled five yards in the backfield.
94:46So a turnover on downs there. A sack from Devin Lloyd.
94:49And then a pick six on Jack Strand's first pass of his NFL career.
94:54Just a hell of a day for Devin Lloyd.
94:56And this is likely the end of Cooper Rush's career.
94:59He fumbled on the first snap on a scramble.
95:02Interception on the fourth snap. And he was relentlessly getting booed by, I guess you'd call them the Falcons faithful.
95:08To the point that some fan brought a, we want strand sign.
95:11So homemade to the stands. And you got what you asked for there as well.
95:16Dude, they probably paid real American dollars for that.
95:18Yeah. They went to FedEx. They went to FedEx and said, I take my money, my hard earned United States dollars and print that thing out.
95:26That's where the Falcons are. I saw Drake London was like yelling at, was it fans or teammates or something?
95:32I mean, he's got to be one of the most like frustrated players.
95:36Look at that. We want that. That's not bad.
95:38That's legit. The production quality could be a lot worse.
95:41He spent at least, you know, two hours making that thing.
95:45Just quickly on the Falcons. Like Bijan, 4.5 yards per carry, 16 carries, 72 yards.
95:49I don't think he touched the football with like 12 minutes to go in the game because it was so over.
95:55Uh, Drake London, five targets, four receptions, 51 yards, a nice early 17 yard game.
96:00But after that, it was really tough sledding and cow pits one catch for 15 yards.
96:04Had another one bounce out of his hands and the rest of the game, Mike does not matter for the Falcons.
96:11Uh, Josh, I am expecting. Yeah, go ahead. I got a question for you, man, because I'm kind of with you.
96:17There's been a lot of Bryce Young slander. And as we sit back today and look at the state of the quarterback
96:23position, Drake May, uh, four interceptions, the one touchdown, Bo Nix launching picks left and right.
96:28You know, all of this stuff, Jaden Daniels, we'll talk about that.
96:32I mean, are you starting Bryce Young? Is this must start territory at this point with how he's playing?
96:37And I'm looking at the consolidation for the offense again, like that's another three touchdowns without McMillan nor Jalen Coker getting in the end zone.
96:45He's playing great football right now. Like I get, he can only face who's on the schedule, but is he getting to
96:51the point where he's on must start territory? So we have talked about this relentlessly.
96:56Matt, you've done so on your show, Ray, you have as well.
96:59People did not wrap their heads around Dave Canales, giving up the play calling and it going to Brad Edzik.
97:05And there is such a massive difference here of immediately from the first series of the first game, them allowing and building
97:12an offense around Bryce Young's downfield capabilities. To the tune that he is top five and intended air yards per attempt right now in the league.
97:19I mean, he's tied with Justin Herbert and Josh Allen in terms of intended air yards per attempt only behind Trevor Lawrence and Lamar Jackson.
97:27And he's completing a bunch of them. And this is an aggressive downfield style, not ball control.
97:32Granted, they have played the bears and they have played the Atlanta Falcons.
97:36But guess what guys next two weeks, you got the Browns and the lions.
97:40So if we're getting in lines on the Bryce Young, not just super flex, but in single quarterback stuff, it's these next
97:46two weeks where you could have, again, very similar performances, I think, to this one.
97:51Hey, Josh, what about the backfield here? I saw Jonathan Brooks with a groin injury.
97:55I'm assuming that's the same groin injury that he had in training camp.
97:59It's just going to be the Chuba Hubbard as like a top 15 fantasy running back.
98:04Yep, it is that simple. Chuba Hubbard was in there early on in the I-10 stuff.
98:08He got 12 carries for 53 yards. Again, did get that receiving touchdown.
98:12And then, you know, Jonathan Brooks mixed in here and there just five carries.
98:16But his last carry was like you were expecting a, let's say, Emmanuel Wilson type fourth quarter for him.
98:22Like, let's give him 10 carries. Let's have some fun.
98:25Let's see what he's got. He tries to turn the corner and then has zero juice, takes himself to the medical tent.
98:31And Dave Canales says it is the same groin issue that sparked up in training camp.
98:36And so I'm assuming I wouldn't be surprised if he gets puts on like short term IR for that.
98:42Yeah. And AJ Dillon is a backup backup or backup running back here.
98:46So, yeah, I mean, it's all Chuba Hubbard. And I will say this, the Panthers offense, like this was not a clean process for this team.
98:53I think the offensive line had eight or nine penalties, including two false starts by Rob Hunt, some holdings, illegal hands to
99:00the face, all this type of stuff. They overcame it.
99:03So there's still some things to iron out with that.
99:06But man, we'd love to see 10 targets for Ted Arroyo McMillan, five for 101.
99:10They did some cool leak patterns, some move out of the pocket, all that type of stuff.
99:15Jalen Coker, by the way, is now this team's punt returner on top of it.
99:20And he goes for 36 yards on the first punt return out there.
99:23I've never noticed. I don't know. I mean, what can't he do?
99:27What can't he do on this team? Nothing. And he even gets eight for 66, including, you know, an awesome sideline grab.
99:33And then Darren Waller is the sneaky tight end premium play, especially when we get to like the low red zone where
99:40he adds that third dynamic with T-Mac, with Jalen Coker.
99:43And then you get Darren Waller more in the slot and you can like run in breakers.
99:48You can run pylon routes, corner routes with him.
99:51And yeah, he's a go-to player for them in the tight red zone.
99:54That's for sure. Nothing. All right. We got two more quick games.
99:58Ray, your Dallas Cowboys rebound in a big way.
100:0137 to 20 win over the Washington commanders. I hate to say it, but I think the only place to start though
100:07is with those commanders because their season might've changed entirely.
100:10Jane Daniels looks to re injure the same elbow injury as last year.
100:14Looks like a dislocation to my untrained eye. The thing with it, Ray, it wasn't on contact.
100:19He was going from under center and trying to plant with it, put it on the turf.
100:24And it almost goes in the opposite direction and pops out there.
100:28So we saw what this offense looked like last year.
100:30I'll be it with Cliff Kingsbury and Marcus Mariota leading the operation.
100:34But again, here we are after week two with commanders.
100:37Oh, and two and without their franchise quarterback. Yeah, this was, this was the, definitely the biggest takeaway, right?
100:43We could talk about Dak and there's some really, really awesome stats about what Dak did.
100:47Something that hadn't been done in two years. And maybe we'll get to that, but Jane Daniels, and I'll just say this
100:54different circumstances, different injured parts of the body. But this feels exactly like the time when the Washington commanders had a all-star
101:00rookie quarterback, rushed him back on the field. And in the second season, he got injured again and was never the same.
101:07This happened on the play before halftime. He stumbled out, out from the snap, went back to put his hand on the ground.
101:14No one fell on him. Just, it popped out again.
101:17And all you're thinking is, like, is this going to be a common occurrence?
101:21It looked and felt so bad because he gets on the cart and he's driving off and you can just see disappointment on his face.
101:28It wasn't tears. It felt like he was saying, damn it, here we go again.
101:33And, yeah, that's the biggest takeaway. And once that, once that happened, I mean, they were so desperate, y'all.
101:38They ran, I believe, in one series. They had two different trick plays where they're throwing the ball to receiver and missing Terry McLaurin down the field.
101:46And they try to do something else on the opposite side of the field.
101:50And you're watching, like, what is David Blau doing?
101:53I'll just say this. Dallas' defense is still terrible.
101:56So anybody can run on them. And Jaden Daniels was running all over him prior to the injury.
102:01But this is tough. And I'll say I don't know where they go from here.
102:05But because Dallas' defense is so bad, once Marcus Mariota got in, he was doing the same stuff Jaden Daniels was doing.
102:12It just, the defense is so bad in Dallas that it didn't really kind of matter who was there.
102:18But moving forward, I thought the running backs played really well.
102:21Stephon Diggs, I think we've all talked about him.
102:23He's their best wide receiver. Full stop right now, especially with Shago Conquo out.
102:28This is rough for Washington. Did Terry McLaurin have a touchdown callback?
102:31Like, his day might look a lot different than it was here.
102:35He didn't, he never got it. Like, it was in the end zone.
102:38He got up. They called it a touchdown. But the ball, once you see the replay, he never had control of it.
102:45It was on the ground. It could have looked better.
102:48And then Antonio, he did miss him wide open on a trick play.
102:52But the primary, it felt like it was Stephon Diggs when they needed to play down the stretch.
102:57You see the nine targets here. Hayden shaking his head.
103:00Go ahead, Hayden. It felt like Diggs was the best guy on the field for him.
103:05I just keep getting like a Monroe St. Brown vibes.
103:08Like, from the David Blau offense. Like, there was backfield stuff.
103:11Once again, you just open underneath. And he looks really explosive.
103:14I mean, he was getting Cooper to Gene one-on-one in week one multiple times.
103:18And just like cooking him. And he dropped a couple passes.
103:22In that week one game, that could have been like 100 yards and even more.
103:26And then once again, like you said, nine targets in this one.
103:30And I did see his one touchdown grab, which was by design as well.
103:34So, like, he's the easy button in this offense.
103:36I'm not sure if they're going to be able to run the ball that consistently this year.
103:41Because the state of their offensive line. I saw Connerly's banged up with a finger injury on top of it.
103:47So, like, if they're going to have to do like a scammy version with Marcus Mariota.
103:52And I think Marcus Mariota among backup quarterbacks is like absolutely one of the best in the league.
103:57And we saw that like the EPA numbers the last couple years.
104:01Like, he can absolutely run a scammy type of offense.
104:04If not even something better than that. So, I think that Steph Diggs, like, no doubt about it, top 30 guy in fantasy right now.
104:11I've got some bad news for you. They face the Seattle Seahawks in week three.
104:16In week four. Week four. Not next week. But again, if we're going back to like the conversation about how 0% of
104:22people should have started Marvin Harrison today. Like, Terry McLaurin is going to be that sacrificial player again.
104:28It looks like Antonio Williams was tied with Deami Brown for second on the team in routes ahead of Stephon Diggs.
104:34So, I don't know if Diggs can just like not play a full snap chair at this point in his career.
104:40Or if like they don't want him out there in a blocking game.
104:44And look. Yeah, his contract. Also, by the way.
104:46It's working. My boy, Stephon Diggs, like, never been interested in the blocking game.
104:51Even at his like best days. Like, I've even like talked with him about that.
104:55So, yeah, I mean, William, like maybe we just don't need all these Deami Brown routes because I would like to see more Antonio Williams.
105:02I'd like to see more Steph Diggs. But, yeah, I'm with Hayden.
105:06Like, at this point, he should be the odds on favor to lead this team in targets, catches, and yards going forward.
105:12Right? Anything you want to say about the Cowboys?
105:15Oh, yeah. I'll just say Deami Brown did have a touchdown that when y'all see it, I have no idea how that was not called a touchdown.
105:23I'll just – even the announcers were like that should have been – I don't know how they ruled that.
105:29But Cowboys, I think the biggest takeaway, CeeDee Lamb is the guy.
105:33I mean, it was great to see him get back going again.
105:36And let me just read this from you about Dak Prescott.
105:39His 17.9 EPA across his drawbacks in this game, the most amongst any quarterback who faced a pressure rate north of 40%
105:46in a game over the last two seasons. He was 17 for 18, all four of his touchdowns when he was kept
105:52clean, and all four of his TDs traveled 10 yards down the field.
105:56It felt like this offense said, okay, we don't know what happened in week one, but let's get to doing what we do best.
106:03And the most disappointing part of the offense was how bad Javante Williams looked.
106:07I mean, I'm looking at him run. Like, they've got to find somebody else with some juice in the backfield.
106:13He looked terrible running the ball today. Jake Ferguson, two touchdowns.
106:17Go figure that would happen after I slandered him all week.
106:20But George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb both had eight-plus targets, but it was CeeDee Lamb as the one.
106:25And there's no doubt about it. It is CeeDee Lamb as the primary.
106:29George Pickens is the secondary in this offense. Next two weeks for the Cowboys, some big tests, the Ravens and the Texans.
106:36So, look, they poured it on the commanders here, but those would be some interesting conversations.
106:40Obviously, they're very straight-lined with who gets the fantasy points, but maybe just our expectations with that.
106:45Okay. I'll just quickly go through the 49ers and the Dolphins.
106:49I had this on the second screen. I mean, the 49ers demolished them 35 to 13.
106:53Brock Purdy was freaking outstanding in the pocket, out of the pocket, short area quickness, 20 of 22.
106:59He had as many touchdowns as he did in completions for 287 yards.
107:02Was also the team's leading rusher with 30 yards and a rushing score.
107:06Chris McCaffrey does get 10 carries for 23 yards and two goal-line touchdowns on top of it.
107:11I think the big takeaway is George Kittle on almost back-to-back plays gets a 40-yarder on this kind of boot action second-level throw to Kittle.
107:19And then he scampers for 40. And then two-ish plays later is wide open in the end zone for a 16-yard grab for a score.
107:26So, he's the team's leading receiver. And then Mike Evans was one yard short of a touchdown on a crossing route himself.
107:33Finishes three targets, three catches for 54. He left with a hip injury.
107:36I think at that time, the 49ers were up like 35 to 6.
107:40So, I am assuming that those two things are linked to Hayden.
107:44And Mike Evans isn't very banged up. It was just time to rest him for the rest of the day.
107:50Yeah, they said it was not serious after the game.
107:53I had the same read on that. But we can't overstate this.
107:56This was a perfect game from Brock Purdy. Looking at the advanced numbers, it does not get better than what they did there.
108:03This Dolphins team, by far the youngest. And that's at all levels.
108:07Chop Robinson was out there. We know that we have to play players against the Dolphins.
108:11But we're getting close. So, this could be a historically bad Dolphins defense this year.
108:16Oh, yeah. And to your point, they are the youngest roster offensively.
108:19And they're the youngest roster defensively. And it shows out there.
108:2349ers players were wide open all over the field.
108:25Just flat out wide open. For the Dolphins, that wasn't the case.
108:29For Malik Willis takes four sacks in this game.
108:31197 yards. I would assume a lot of that was in the second half.
108:36And then, yeah. Devon HN, just tough sledding. 20 carries.
108:3974 yards. Did have some downfield targets on his six.
108:41But just catches three for 19. Josh, can I ask you a tough question that nobody wants to hear?
108:47And nobody probably wants to answer this. Is Christian McCaffrey just...
108:50I get what he scores us. And we take the points.
108:54But is there... Is he getting to the point where he is declining?
108:57Like, does he... When you're watching him... Like, when I saw that swing route.
109:02And he tried to juke a defender. And he got pissed because he got tackled.
109:06He couldn't make a move. Is he... I don't want to say cooked.
109:10But are we getting there with Christian McCaffrey? So, we can close on this.
109:14The CMC stuff. As we talked about last week.
109:17And we talked about it during stats versus film.
109:19But is going to take the largest piece of the pie that we've ever seen attached to CMC.
109:25Maybe that's 70-30, 65-35. And that's going to make CMC closer to...
109:28I don't know. The running back 8 or 12 in expected points.
109:32Now, in this game, obviously, you play him and you start him and he gets two goal line touchdowns.
109:37But outside of that, there's not as much. But then the trade-off with that is hopefully he's more explosive.
109:43More spry. Versus literally being the least efficient. An explosive runner in the league last season.
109:48So, it's a good offense that we want to be a part of.
109:52I would always take the 90% usage on running back 1 over and over and over again that we got last year.
109:58I think the big question, Ray... And Hayden, I would love your input on this.
110:02Would that make CMC like a silent killer for your team?
110:06If you took him as the 5th overall player and he finishes as like the 14th overall player?
110:11Or should we just be like, fine with that and we move on?
110:15I mean, I think so. I mean, you're going to look at some crazy box scores from Jameer Gibbs and we'll see
110:21about, you know, obviously, like Jamar Chase, JSNs of the world.
110:25Like, that's who we sandwiched between. So, we'll see on that.
110:28I do think McCaffrey's going to be just fine because it looks like this 49ers team might just be like the 3rd or 4th best offense again.
110:36You know? And if that's the case, then even in that role, he's going to have box scores like this where you get 20 fantasy points.
110:44And whether he was good or not, like, it doesn't really matter.
110:47He's not going to have the legendary season, though, that he's had previously.
110:51So, I guess that's disappointing. Yeah. I think there's a difference in, like, 20 fantasy points per game, which he did score this week, versus 16-15 per week.
110:59Yes. All right. Yeah. That does it. I know I'll be back tomorrow night after Monday Night Football with Joel Smith on the Waver Wire.
