Player insights

77

Aaron Jones

PositiveUsage56:53

Played 90% of snaps going into halftime in Week 2; suffered brief knee injury but returned and remained on field. The source notes the team doesn't trust other running backs and will ride him as long as he can. Generated 10.5 expected half-PPR points; from 2024 onward without Jordan Mason, he's RB 20 on RB 13 usage, which the source characterizes as exactly what an RB2 looks like. Faces Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that has been getting shredded by all opponents.

Insight page

Adonai Mitchell

NegativeRole35:47

Adonai Mitchell was traded from the Colts to the New York Jets and has blossomed with the Jets to a greater degree than he likely would have with Indianapolis; the source suggests Mitchell would have been a perfect replacement for the Colts' roster moves but the Jets' situation has proven more beneficial for his development.

Insight page

Alec Pierce

NegativeInjury31:31

Pierce's absence is expected to increase Josh Downs' role and route share, with Laquan Treadwell likely playing as the ex downfield player and Darius Slayton potentially contributing if he can catch up.

Insight page
PositiveUsage34:02

Alec Pierce has had five games with either out or only seeing one target; in those games he has a 24% target share, indicating limited offensive role and opportunity in the Colts' passing attack.

Insight page

Antonio Williams

PositiveUsage20:08

Williams ran 27 of 46 routes (59%) in Week 2 and scored as WR70 despite running only 12 routes in Week 1 when he scored as WR14; the source wants to see more Antonio Williams in the offense, viewing increased route participation as a path to more opportunities and fantasy upside.

Insight page

Blake Corum

PositiveRole22:21

Blake Corum looks awesome and received enough touches at the end of the game to show he should be getting the football more; however, Sean McVay clearly prefers Kyron Williams and will continue to favor him.

Insight page

Caleb Williams

NegativeInjury47:34

Williams suffered a hamstring injury in Week 2 while nearly scoring a touchdown to win the game, forcing the Bears to turn to backup quarterbacks and creating uncertainty for the entire offense.

Insight page
PositiveProjection54:23

Once Caleb Williams returns from injury, the source plans to buy on Chicago's pass catchers (Loveland, Burden, Dunze) as long as Burden increases his playing time; the quarterback injury is currently throwing a wrench into the offense's production outlook.

Insight page

Case Keenum

NegativeProjection48:16

Keenum is now the Bears' starting quarterback despite not throwing a pass since Christmas Eve 2023 (Texans vs. Browns) when he averaged 3.6 yards per attempt; the source expresses significant concern about his ability to support the Bears' receiving corps (Roma Dunze, Luther Burden, Cleef Raymond, Colson Loveland).

Insight page
NegativeProjection51:20

The source humorously notes that the 38-year-old Keenum likely doesn't want to play football and would prefer to be a coach, implying very low confidence in his ability to produce fantasy value in week three.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

NegativeRole48:55

Loveland has been used heavily as an inline blocker (71% of dropbacks in 11 personnel) rather than in receiving routes; the source believes Ben Johnson is underutilizing him as a pass-catcher despite his blocking ability, limiting his fantasy upside.

Insight page
NegativeUsage49:12

Loveland ran routes on 71% of dropbacks in 11 personnel but was heavily involved in blocking assignments; the source notes he's a good blocker but should be utilized more as a safety blanket in the passing game, similar to how he was deployed during the Bears' playoff stretch when the offense looked unstoppable.

Insight page
PositiveValue54:55

Drafted as tight end three on Yahoo; the source is most confident in Loveland for the rest of the season among Chicago's pass catchers, though the elite separation bargain has disintegrated as most tight ends have performed well so far.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

PositiveMatchup51:20

Swift is the only Bears skill player the source would recommend starting in week three against the Eagles, given the team's overall offensive struggles and the fact that Case Keenum is the backup quarterback.

Insight page

Daniel Jones

PositiveProjection36:22

Daniel Jones is playing above average football at this moment; the Colts' offensive scheme is designed to get the ball out of his hands quickly, which should support his performance.

Insight page

Darius Slayton

NegativeDepth Chart31:31

Slayton may contribute as an ex receiver for the Colts if he can catch up to game speed following Alec Pierce's absence.

Insight page

Darren Waller

PositiveRole0:44

Darren Waller is being utilized in the red zone for the Panthers offense under new play-caller Brad Edzik, contributing to positive offensive changes in Carolina.

Insight page

Dyami Brown

NegativeRole4:36

The source expresses frustration with Deami Brown's role, noting he ran route after route and wind sprint after wind sprint despite unclear offensive purpose; Brown is running 43% of routes, which the source views as excessive and believes should be reduced to open up opportunities for other receivers like Antonio Williams and Terry McLaurin.

Insight page

Emmett Johnson

NegativeUsage22:52

Four quick targets (fewer than five air yards) so far this year for Kansas City; part of the Chiefs' strategy to get the ball out quickly and let receivers run after the catch.

Insight page
PositiveSleeper71:33

Emmett Johnson is a waiver wire target with a path to winning your league; the source positions Johnson alongside Terrence Ferguson as a running back with genuine league-winning upside if he can finish as a top-18 running back, contrasting him with lower-ceiling backups like Jonah Coleman and R.J. Hartley.

Insight page

Hayden Hurst

NegativeProjection60:04

Hayden Hurst (referred to as Hayden Crystal Lave in the transcript, likely a transcription error for Hurst) is averaging 5 points per game as the Saints' wide receiver. The source notes this is part of a passing attack that has underperformed despite the offensive line being supposed to be a strength.

Insight page

Isaiah Likely

PositiveUsage9:09

Isaiah Likely posted a 30% target share and ran 86% of dropbacks in Week 2; he's a tight end three in expected points and remains a fringe top-10 tight end despite the depth at the position improving with Kelsey's return and other emerging options.

Insight page

Isiah Pacheco

PositiveRole28:02

Andy Reid indicated that Isiah Pacheco's workload could grow moving forward, saying they need to get him more touches. On just 14 touches so far, Pacheco has already proven to be a capable NFL player, suggesting significant upside if his usage increases.

Insight page

J.K. Dobbins

NegativeInjury66:41

J.K. Dobbins was dealing with cramping in week two, not a soft tissue injury; the source expects the Broncos to keep riding Dobbins despite the cramping issue.

Insight page
NegativeProjection70:56

Despite offseason narrative that J.K. Dobbins could be a good value if healthy, his fantasy ceiling is limited by his role in Sean Payton's offense; last year, Dobbins was on pace to achieve 250 touches—a feat no running back has ever achieved in a Sean Payton offense—and was on pace for a career season, yet his lack of receiving role and overall running back usage would have equaled only running back 23 in points per game; this demonstrates that even elite touch volume in this offense does not translate to elite fantasy production.

Insight page

Jalen Coker

PositiveRole0:47

The source identifies Jalen Coker as one of two top 24-25 wide receivers in the NFL on the Panthers, alongside Ted O'McMillan, with Brad Edzik's play-calling change enabling positive offensive production; the Panthers rank third in yards per play through two weeks.

Insight page

Jameis Winston

NegativeProjection4:06

Jameis Winston entered the Giants game and performed poorly; the source notes Winston has been a bad quarterback outside of a seven-game sample over the last eight years, and looked like someone who spent the offseason as a content creator rather than a backup quarterback, raising concerns for Giants fantasy assets.

Insight page

Jaylen Waddle

PositiveRole72:07

Week 2 showed the intended role: easy button touches (screen passes, quick outs) plus big breaking routes to crack zone coverage, including crossers, posts, and double moves. Route chart displayed quick hitters and downfield routes. Sean Payton stated post-game that Jalen Waddle has to get the ball every single week with no excuses, establishing week 2 as the baseline and discarding week 1 as an outlier.

Insight page
PositiveProjection75:15

Week 2 production: 10 targets, 14.3 expected half PPR points, finishing as WR12 on the week. Source projects he will hover around that range going forward, positioning him as an upside WR2 in the making. Comparison to George Pickens 2025 trajectory (slow week 1, then flying from there), though source notes Waddle likely won't match Pickens' red zone volume due to offensive scheme manufacturing touches in that area.

Insight page
PositiveRole75:33

Waddle is positioned as an upside wide receiver two in the making; Sean Payton has shown clear intention to get him the football a ton. The source expects high-variance performance with spike weeks reaching top-five to top-seven scoring, but down weeks looking like four catches for 40 yards rather than the week-one outlier. Volatility stems from his deep vertical breaking routes paired with Bo Nix's inconsistency, similar to Mike Evans' boom-bust pattern with Baker Mayfield.

Insight page

Jonah Coleman

NegativeBust66:31

Coleman is waiver wire bait and should not be picked up; the source watched film on the Broncos backfield and evaluated Coleman as too small and not explosive enough to matter in fantasy; Coleman was drafted around running back 40 territory, which may be a win relative to ADP, but he lacks the ceiling to finish as a top-18 running back and win your league like other waiver wire targets such as Terrence Ferguson or Emmett Johnson.

Insight page
NegativeRole66:31

Coleman is a coach's pet who does all the little things well and is a good grinder back, but faces significant fantasy headwinds; Tyler Bidet plays as a pass protector and will eat snaps from Coleman on passing downs, limiting Coleman's offensive snap share; even in the second half of week two, Coleman played only 19 percent of offensive snaps to Bidet's share; Coleman would need to completely push Bidet aside to become a fantasy factor, which is unlikely given Bidet's pass protection role.

Insight page
NegativeSleeper72:07

Source explicitly states Jonah Coleman isn't going to win your league, grouping him with R.J. Hartley as players whose path to league-winning upside is too complex or limited, contrasting with players like Terrence Ferguson and Emmett Johnson who have clearer paths to winning.

Insight page

Jonathan Taylor

NegativeRole36:28

Jonathan Taylor is a red zone weapon for the Colts alongside Tyler Warren; the source notes the offense will need to generate explosive plays from the run game because consistent production through the air is unlikely.

Insight page

Jordan Addison

NegativeRole57:38

The source characterizes Addison as a very boom-bust player in a boom-bust offense (Kevin O'Connell) with a boom-bust quarterback (Kyler Murray), expecting high variance in production. John Jennings' return for Week 3 led to increased two-tight-end sets, reducing opportunities for receivers like Addison. The Buccaneers defense has been picked apart primarily on underneath plays and quick outs to linebackers, which is not Addison's game. The source expects a big Justin Jefferson outing instead.

Insight page

Josh Downs

PositiveBreakout31:31

Downs had arguably the best game of his career in terms of two-wide-receiver-set route running and production, finishing as WR23 in half-PPR. He ran routes on 71% of dropbacks with two or fewer receivers on the field (previously averaged 8% in his first three NFL seasons) and 92-93% overall (never higher than 76% in any prior season). He won on quick slants and motion routes while also getting three targets on deeper outbreaking routes (10+ yards downfield). The source expects this usage to increase further due to Alec Pierce's absence and believes Downs will continue to be featured on these deeper routes since Keenan Allen won't fill that role and Tyler Warren operates in the flats.

Insight page
PositiveRole33:34

Josh Downs is the Colts' clear best separator and primary slot weapon; the source identifies him as firmly a wide receiver three moving forward with a chance to be a wide receiver two in full PPR given the Colts' defensive struggles and Shane Steichen's scheme reliance on him for short-yardage situations.

Insight page
PositiveMatchup33:57

Josh Downs has two career games over 100 yards, one of which came against the Houston Texans in 2024; even facing the Texans' elite defense in week three, he should still be viewed as a wide receiver three because the Colts' scheme heavily motions him around and Steichen targets him consistently on short-yardage plays.

Insight page

Justin Jefferson

NegativeRole55:12

Justin Jefferson remains the primary piece that everything in the Vikings offense revolves around; the source confirms this is still the case with Kyler Murray returning to the lineup.

Insight page
PositiveMatchup58:09

The source expects a big Justin Jefferson outing against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense, which has been getting shredded by everyone, including Deshaun Watson. The Bucs defense has been picked apart primarily on underneath plays and quick outs, but Jefferson's game is vertical and explosive, making him well-positioned to exploit this weakness.

Insight page

Juwan Johnson

PositiveProjection60:04

Juwan Johnson is averaging 17 points per game as the Saints' tight end, leading the Saints' passing attack production and showing strong performance despite the team's offensive line injury concerns.

Insight page

Kalif Raymond

PositiveRole49:12

Raymond has emerged as the Bears' primary safety blanket through two weeks, recording four catches when Caleb Williams was under pressure in week two amid heavy blitz looks; he's the only way the Bears can get him on the field given their personnel groupings.

Insight page

Keenan Allen

NegativeRole32:00

Allen is not expected to be featured on the deeper outbreaking routes that the Colts need to continue hitting for Josh Downs; the source indicates this role will fall to Downs instead.

Insight page

Kenneth Walker III

NegativeUsage22:52

Leading Kansas City in quick targets (fewer than five air yards) with 11 targets so far this year; the source notes this is a confident play in a game where the Chiefs are projected for nearly 29 points.

Insight page
PositiveValue27:37

Walker should have been a first-round pick in fantasy leagues. Through two weeks he is averaging 31.5 opportunities per game (23.5 carries and 8 targets), which is prime Christian McCaffrey usage. Even if 5-6 touches are redirected to other backs, Walker at 25 touches per game behind the Chiefs' offensive line would be a strong value at pick 102 overall, with 25.7 expected points per game.

Insight page

Kyler Murray

PositiveProjection56:12

The source expects Kyler Murray to play much better than Carson Wentz did as the Vikings starter; Murray's return to the lineup is expected to improve Minnesota's offensive production based on Kevin O'Connell's historical numbers with him.

Insight page
PositiveProjection56:23

The source believes Kyler Murray will play much better than Carson Wentz and has played good ball for too long to not have success in Kevin O'Connell's offense. Murray faces Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that has been getting shredded by everyone, including Deshaun Watson. The market is not a big believer of this offense at the moment, projecting just 22 points compared to what the Bucs have allowed recently, suggesting potential for Murray to exceed expectations.

Insight page

Kyren Williams

PositiveProjection20:08

Kyron Williams continues to follow the formula: when the Rams score 28 points, he likely scores a touchdown; when trailing, he plays 75% of snaps; he was not punished for a fumble and received a touch immediately on the first snap of the next drive, showing McVay's confidence in him.

Insight page

Ladd McConkey

PositiveUsage46:47

McConkey was the only dependable receiver finding open zones and catching consistently in the second half; the source projects he needs to be an 85% snap player going forward for the Chargers to sustain drives, especially with the team facing a brutal schedule (Broncos, Chiefs, Rams, Texans defenses next).

Insight page

Laquon Treadwell

NegativeRole31:31

Treadwell will likely play as the ex downfield player for the Colts following Alec Pierce's absence, but the source does not expect him to be a high-volume player in that role.

Insight page

Luther Burden

NegativeProjection48:16

Burden is ranked WR50 and must now be supported by Case Keenum, a third-string quarterback with poor recent efficiency (3.6 YPA in his last game), creating significant downside risk for his fantasy production.

Insight page
NegativeRole49:12

Burden's role has changed significantly from last year; he ran routes on just 29% of plays with fewer than three receivers on the field in week two, suggesting he may not be fully healthy despite returning from injury. He's not playing nearly as much slot as expected and has seen only one screen pass this year, essentially replacing DJ Moore's routes but playing less snaps.

Insight page
NegativeRole54:55

Drafted around wide receiver 23-25 on Yahoo; the source is most concerned about Burden's playing time so far and notes that his increased role is a prerequisite for buying into Chicago's pass catchers once Caleb Williams returns.

Insight page

Malik Nabers

NegativeInjury5:58

Malik Nabers suffered a shoulder injury that completely popped out during the game; the source is concerned this recurring shoulder issue from college could linger throughout the season, potentially requiring surgery; Nabers is currently operating at approximately 80% health rather than 90%, appearing half a step slower than expected after two weeks.

Insight page
NegativeRole10:41

Malik Nabers is not performing at full capacity; he's falling down the field, slipping, and being overthrown by Jameis Winston on underneath routes where he was open; the Giants offense appears caught between two worlds—heavy personnel and spread concepts—making Nabers a potential cross-off team from a fantasy standpoint by year's end.

Insight page

Marcus Mariota

NegativeRole77:57

Among backup quarterbacks, the source believes Mariota can keep the Commanders' offense afloat in the short term, though the team faces significant line injuries (no Larry McTunsel, Josh Conner left with injury) and a first-time play caller, making Week 3 outlook poor despite longer-term potential.

Insight page
PositiveRole78:18

The source assesses Marcus Mariota as potentially the best backup quarterback in the NFL, noting he has changed his approach over recent years to be willing to attack deep downfield. Despite being less athletic than in his prime and prone to scrambling, the source believes Mariota can keep the Commanders offense afloat as a replacement for Jaden Daniels, with the caveat that offensive line health (Larry McTunsel and Josh Conner) will be critical.

Insight page

Michael Pittman

NegativeDepth Chart35:58

Michael Pittman was moved off the Colts roster; combined with Alec Pierce's injury issues (non-surgery, then surgery, then aggravation without further surgery), the Colts have faced significant roster turnover at receiver.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

NegativeInjury14:08

Puka Nakua is dealing with an injury that the source did not like how McVay discussed on the microphone; it appears similar to an injury Nakua dealt with in training camp, raising concerns about the exact health status and potential for lingering issues; there is a 10-20% chance the injury lingers longer than initially reported, potentially resembling a sports hernia.

Insight page

Rashee Rice

NegativeBust22:52

Third-round pick looks like one of the worst picks in that range; usage has collapsed to wide receiver 66 through two weeks; targets per route dropped from 26 percent (2023-2024) to 10 percent this year; playing outside more (62 percent vs. 48 percent in 2024) due to heavy personnel groupings; rehabbing knee injury from jail and doesn't look all the way right or explosive; not a good zone beater so far despite historical strength in that area; still startable but significantly underperforming draft capital.

Insight page
NegativeRole26:33

Rice is being forced more outside due to the Chiefs' improved run game and better downfield looks. He has struggled as a zone beater so far this season despite historically excelling in that role; previously he would sit in zone coverage and catch passes from Mahomes, but now Mahomes is looking further downfield because the run game is operating better, changing Rice's usage pattern.

Insight page
NegativeInjury26:33

Rice rehabbed his knee injury and does not look all the way right yet. The source notes concern about his recovery status and its impact on his performance.

Insight page
NegativeUsage30:35

Rice has only two screen targets through two weeks of the season, which is not what the source is accustomed to seeing. The core issue with the Worthy-Rice tandem is that Rice typically eats on the 'Mickey Mouse stuff' (short, easy targets), but the Chiefs are now catering to Xavier Worthy as well, creating a role conflict.

Insight page

Rome Odunze

NegativeValue54:55

Drafted a couple spots after Luther Burden (around WR 25); the source would pick either Loveland or Dunze as a buy-low candidate depending on receiver needs, but recommends waiting until week four to buy low after numbers come in rather than buying this week.

Insight page

Stefon Diggs

PositiveRole77:37

The source believes Diggs should be the odds-on favorite to lead the Commanders in targets, catches, and yards; he looks better than Terry McLaurin currently despite both being nearly the same age (Diggs 32, McLaurin 31). His reception perception charting from 2024-2025 was essentially identical despite a torn ACL in between, and early 2026 results show no drop-off in performance.

Insight page
PositiveProjection77:37

Diggs is the wide receiver 11 in points per game through two weeks with consistency, posting at least 13 points in each contest. The source notes Marcus Mariota's willingness to attack deep and use Diggs in interesting ways out of the backfield with option routes and flat routes, including a big corner route touchdown. Despite Jaden Daniels' injury forcing Mariota into the starting role, the source believes Mariota can keep the offense afloat among backup quarterbacks.

Insight page

Terrance Ferguson

PositiveBreakout14:12

Terrence Ferguson's role changed significantly in Week 2; he ran 40% of snaps from the slot and played just as many snaps out of 11 personnel on first and second downs in this game as he played all of last season; he had yards after catch and a red zone target; the source identifies him as the number one waiver wire pickup going into Week 3, better than available running backs, with potential to finish as a top-three or top-four tight end.

Insight page
PositiveSleeper71:33

Terrence Ferguson is a waiver wire target with a path to winning your league; the source contrasts Ferguson with Jonah Coleman and R.J. Hartley, positioning Ferguson as a running back with genuine league-winning upside if he can finish as a top-18 running back.

Insight page

Terry McLaurin

NegativeMatchup77:57

Against Seattle's strong defense, McLaurin faces a difficult Week 3 matchup with backup quarterback Marcus Mariota, first-time play caller, and backup tackles; however, the source believes he can maintain fantasy relevance moving forward as bye weeks approach, though this specific week will look poor.

Insight page
NegativeMatchup78:17

With Jaden Daniels out and Marcus Mariota taking over, McLaurin had several narrow deep-ball opportunities that nearly connected on three separate occasions and would have significantly transformed fantasy opinions of his value for the rest of the season. The source notes Mariota's willingness to attack downfield and David Blau's play-calling includes flea flickers and creative route concepts for McLaurin, but execution has been inconsistent.

Insight page

Travis Kelce

PositiveProjection22:21

Travis Kelce is running faster than he has in the previous two or three years, with Nate Tice measuring his miles per hour in 2025 as way faster than recent seasons; he leads the NFL in yards after catch through two weeks; he's in better shape and looks more fluid and flexible with better initial burst; with the Chiefs projected for 28.5 points in Week 3, he should be a top-five tight end despite being tied in eighth in usage.

Insight page

Tyler Warren

NegativeRole32:00

Warren is basically living in the flats and underneath areas of the Colts offense, meaning he will not be featured on the deeper outbreaking routes that Josh Downs is winning on.

Insight page
NegativeRole35:15

Tyler Warren's offensive role remains limited and unchanged; the Colts have not expanded his usage beyond the same four plays they've been running, suggesting a narrow role in the offense despite his presence in the red zone.

Insight page

Tyson Bagent

NegativeInjury48:00

Bagent entered concussion protocol on Tuesday morning after being assumed to start following Williams' hamstring injury, leaving the Bears with third-string Case Keenum as the starting quarterback.

Insight page

Xavier Worthy

NegativeUsage22:52

Six quick targets (fewer than five air yards) so far this year for Kansas City; mentioned as a potential flex play in a game where the Chiefs are projected for nearly 29 points, though the source suggests confidence is limited outside the Mahomes-Kenneth Walker-Kelsey trio.

Insight page
PositiveSleeper29:34

Worthy is a buy-low candidate ranked as WR20 in usage despite frustrating production. The Chiefs are throwing him a ton of screens with Rasheed Rice blocking, and he is winning downfield at times. The source believes he should be rostered in every league and becomes more interesting in bye weeks when the Chiefs are projected for high points.

Insight page
NegativeRole30:01

Worthy is getting a couple screens per game and should be rostered in every league; he becomes more interesting in bye weeks when the Chiefs are projected for high point totals. However, the source notes a physics-based concern about his 165-pound frame blocking for receivers compared to heavier teammates, and questions whether the Worthy-Rice tandem can both be featured effectively.

0:00Oh yes, you know what time it is. Week 3, Stats vs Film, our flagship show where we watch every single game.
0:08Yes, 16 from the weekend. Compare that with the stats, the metrics, the spreadsheets in the hope of helping you bully your fantasy football rival in week four.
0:17And we have a big episode today as we talk through every single team.
0:22And boys, look, things have been negative as of late, right?
0:26We have a lot of injuries. We have some disappointing players on top of it, maybe some draft picks that did not work out.
0:34So, Matt, Herman, I want to turn to you first.
0:37Give me something positive that you have learned that you have taken away from the first two weeks just so we can start off on the right foot.
0:47I mean, we are able to speak positively about the Carolina Panthers, Josh Norris.
0:52I mean, you and I know in particular that this is why I wanted to do this.
0:57That's that's not something that we've been able to do very often.
1:02And, you know, a lot of times you come up with these theories, you talk about things in the offseason and it
1:09gets completely just obliterated within the first two weeks of the season.
1:13I certainly feel like that about several of my takes, but we talked about this.
1:18I know you guys talked about on your show.
1:21We talked about on the forecast as well. Brad Edzik becoming the play caller was going to be a big change.
1:29And the fact that they had two, in my opinion, like if I was to sit down and rank real life NFL receivers.
1:36Two top 24, top 25 wide receivers in the NFL and Ted O'McMillan and Jalen Coker, like all the things are happening.
1:44Darren Waller being a red zone for us is there.
1:47I mean, I mean, yeah, we're able to say positive things about the Carolina Panthers and that feels pretty good right now.
1:55Looking at yards for play goes Bills, Ravens, Panthers, 49ers, Rams, Chiefs, Bears, Seahawks.
2:00The special team there is definitely the Carolina Panthers.
2:03Are we pounding? Are we pounding guys? I wouldn't say we have kept it going for years, but maybe we can begin
2:10once again here with this Panthers here. Okay. Hey, I knew that wouldn't have been your answer.
2:16So that's why I kick things off. All right.
2:19As you all know, we start with the 10 headline teams.
2:23And unfortunately, a lot of these are going to be massive sweeping changes that maybe destroy, you know, the positivity from a lot of the fan bases.
2:32We begin with the New York Giants. That is number one.
2:36Hayden, this is worst case scenario. Last night's optimism of a two to four week knee injury for Jackson Dart now seems to likely be a season ender.
2:46Jameis Winston entered that contest. Jameis Winston was horrible.
2:49Jameis Winston has been really a bad quarterback outside of a seven game sample for about the last eight years.
2:55So what does this do? Not just for the Giants in totality, but even more importantly, our fantasy assets of Malik neighbors, Isaiah likely and Kim scatterbilt.
3:05Getting the evaluation on Jackson Dart was the most critical piece of the entire Giants season.
3:10And now we're not going to be able to get it like way more so than the coaching staff, way more so
3:18than Malik neighbors coming back from injury, way more than Abdul Carter's second season.
3:23Like they got to figure out the quarterback position and in a new offense and like more like the traditional stuff.
3:30And we're just not going to get that at this point.
3:33So I think that's like a huge bummer for the Giants, obviously for Jackson Dart himself.
3:39And then hopefully when he does come back from this injury, hopefully he's the same level athlete because that's really what made him special as a rookie.
3:48And obviously he was going to be doing that plenty in his second season.
3:53So hopefully this is not a super long term injury, like one that like changes like the next couple of seasons for
4:00him, because like that was like really the special part of him.
4:05Through one and a half years. Josh, I found an old tweet of mine that I had from the 2024 season when
4:12Malik neighbors went crazy on the Indianapolis Colts at the end of that year and basically put them out of position to
4:20get a top draft pick that year. I made the joke at the time that, oh, he was actually playing himself out
4:27of a rookie quarterback Malik neighbor so that the team could sign Jameis Winston in free agency, who was in the middle of a complete offensive scam.
4:36It would be Cleveland Browns at the end of that 2024 season.
4:41And, you know, they did sign Jameis Winston actually that offseason, but they also signed Russell Wilson drafted Jackson Dart.
4:47And now we're back here with Jameis Winston. But a lot has changed, man.
4:52I think Winston looked like a guy. I said this to Hayden on the recap show yesterday.
4:58He looked like a guy who spent all offseason as a content creator, not a backup quarterback.
5:04Neighbors also like the shoulder injury. I still think he doesn't look 100% as to be expected.
5:10It just I don't have a lot of optimism about where things are going for the Giants right now.
5:16Totally. And look, so many of us have been playing fancy football since the at least 2019 season when Jameis Winston, you
5:24know, through 33 touchdown passes and 30 interceptions. And for some reason, Hayden, I think a lot of people still have that
5:31season in their brain when what Mike Evans and Chris Godwin were the wide receiver one and two in points per game overall.
5:39And so they think that in this environment, perhaps he can just sling the rock, throw it all over the yard.
5:46I have bad news in that Mr. Harbaugh is not going to want to live in that high variance department.
5:53He is not going to want to live in a turnover worthy machine environment.
5:58So I am nervous for obviously Malik neighbors and Hayden speak on the injury that he had.
6:04That was a recurring one that he only had one catch in that game.
6:08And I mean, there's so many different layers to go through here and much different feeling than week one to week two to now to week three.
6:18And Jameis just throwing the ball down the football field to like actually like to nobody in that opener.
6:24So he's just got to play way better than that.
6:28I think that there's going to be some opportunity for him because the Giants secondary is just like total work in progress.
6:35I think there's gonna be some garbage time available for like the top pass catchers here.
6:41In terms of just watching neighbors, he's clearly not himself.
6:44Like there was like the first play coming back after he pops his shoulder out.
6:49He falls down the football field. We've seen him kind of slip a couple times in week one as well.
6:56I thought he was open underneath on a lot of those passes in the second half.
7:01But Jameis Winston was just throwing the ball way over the top of him and I've been paying attention to him.
7:09So I think Malik neighbors is not himself. And I do think that shoulder injury is a little bit concerning here because
7:16this is something that's been following him since college.
7:19And he's opted to kind of play through it.
7:22He said it completely popped out. They're gonna get some imaging done.
7:26I hope that this is not something that just like lingers throughout the entire year.
7:32And then the Giants are eliminated in week 12.
7:35And then you got finally off to the surgery like that type of outcome makes me a little bit nervous.
7:41But I think the reality is for the next month Malik neighbors is not 90 percent.
7:47He's probably closer to 80 percent. And maybe after watching the first two weeks maybe he's like a half step slower and
7:54less like himself than I was even expecting. Decent spots in the next three weeks though.
8:00Titans, Cardinals, Commanders. Like the schedule is pretty good here.
8:03But I'm with you Hayden. Like I'm watching Malik neighbors right now.
8:07I've been charting his games and it's just it's not all the way there.
8:12So that's obviously really difficult. Also, I do feel like and again Hayden, you and I talked about this on the recap
8:20show that they feel like an offense sort of caught between two worlds where there's like in week one.
8:26They're one of the heaviest personnel teams out there.
8:29And obviously they fall behind in last night's game.
8:32So who's really to say there? But then their rate of 11 personnel and spread concepts really shot up.
8:39It does feel like a half the time we're in Greg Roman's world, half the time we're in Matt Nagy's world.
8:46And I just wonder if like the Giants are going to be one of those teams that, you know, Cam Scadaboo remains
8:54in our lives, but it's just a cross off team from a fantasy standpoint.
8:58By the end of the year, I can certainly see that being an outcome.
9:03Hayden, we'll talk about this in rankings episodes, but is Isaiah likely still a must start?
9:09He's pretty much right there to me. We're talking about a 30% target share.
9:13That's a tight end too. He's a tight end three and expected points in this one.
9:19He ran around 86% of the dropbacks. And then Theo Johnson keeps dropping passes on top of it.
9:25Titans have really struggled, obviously, when we talk about that game in the future.
9:30I think that he's probably a fringe top 10, maybe like a big picture thing.
9:35The depth that tight end is like low key pretty good right now.
9:39Like there's like 16, 17 guys once we get into like Kelsey's back breaking out.
9:45Like now Terrence Ferguson's interesting. Jawan Johnson's officially interesting.
9:48There's a lot of good tight ends right now.
9:51So I think he's like firmly in that mix.
9:54He's not a must play, but the numbers have been pretty sensational for him.
9:59Okay, Matt, let's go to your opponents on Monday Night Football.
10:02That is the LA Rams who put a hurt on this Giants defense for as bad as the passing attack looked in week one.
10:11It rebounded in a big way in week two.
10:14So Devontae Adams was the man, a top two wide receiver performance on the week.
10:19So I guess my question to you is we know what Devontae Adams can do as the isolated number one wide receiver
10:26on this team when there's literally no depth behind him.
10:30So, Matt, the big fancy question is obviously you're going to start Adams as a wide receiver two or a wide receiver three.
10:38But just what are the expectations once Pukunukua does return to this lineup?
10:42Yeah, I mean, at that point, it goes back to being sort of a up and down volatile play.
10:49But I wonder, like, when is Pukunukua going to be 100% this football season?
10:53Like, is it going to be soon? Is it going to be later in the year?
10:59And I mean, Adams still looks awesome. And it's just like route running keeps you young forever.
11:05He is certainly still all the tabs, has all the tricks in the bag there.
11:10And he's running as like a pure outside receiver, despite the fact that he's 33, going to be 34 in December.
11:17His moves off the line of scrimmage were excellent.
11:20And Stafford's just like straight drop back out of center.
11:23Not as much like the play action stuff at this point.
11:27Really excellent game from Devontae Adams who can still win.
11:31I mean, some of those routes, like one of the touchdowns, the corner route was, you know, against Colton Hood, rookie receiver
11:38going against, or rookie cornerback, excuse me, going against Devontae Adams.
11:42That's a tough assignment. But yeah, I feel like there's more to get out of Adams than just what we saw last
11:49year, where he is definitely a more limited player than he was in his prime.
11:55There's no doubt about that. But, you know, some of the dig routes and the post routes and the go routes, he
12:02could still run those at a pretty high rate in 2025.
12:06And we saw on Monday night as well. Like he can definitely still get that done.
12:11So I don't know that it's going to ever be anything other than just like when Pukenaku is on the field, we
12:19get the ball to him every way possible. But I think it's I think it's open to the Rams if they want to take that.
12:27Yeah, because Hayden, we talked about this in the wide receiver ranking show ahead of week two, that in week one.
12:35And again, we're talking tiny samples here, but it kind of goes back to last year splits when Adams was in and
12:42out that Devontae only ran one route in the red zone.
12:46And played only one of six snaps inside the 10 yard line when Pukenaku was healthy back in week one.
12:53And we know that inside the 10 yard line stuff is so vital for Devontae Adams.
12:58I mean, we saw it last night where a called run is bailed by Matthew Stafford.
13:04And so it's just a one on one fade.
13:07And that is a layup. It's been that way with Stafford.
13:11It's been that way with Aaron Rodgers. It's been with every quarterback that Devontae Adams has had.
13:16So I guess my question is. We have the ceiling play of when Adams is the isolated wide receiver.
13:23Then we have recently seen the ceiling play of when Adams has been passed by in that role by Pukenaku.
13:30And then we get the red zone targets with him.
13:33And if kind of both are exchanging them and sharing them, I'm not saying it caps each other's ceilings, but it kind
13:41of changes the pushing the chips all in for either one of them.
13:45Does that make sense? Yeah, I totally get it.
13:48But I think just the big thing here is like figuring out exactly this Pukenaku injury, because I didn't love the way
13:56that McVay talked about that on the mic. And like this does seem pretty close to the injury that he was dealing with in training camps.
14:05Like I think we just need to like first like start there about the exact health status of Pukenaku.
14:11And I think with Devontae Adams, what's been so interesting from last year and then obviously in this last game here between the 20s, he's a downfield.
14:20There's only a couple of players last year with a higher A dot between the 20s, like Alec Pierce.
14:27And there's somebody else way down the football field.
14:30And then it was Devontae Adams. Like that was like a concern is that if he's not getting the easy button targets
14:37and then he's not going to play at the goal line, that's where he becomes a little bit more volatile.
14:44But if he's the only guy out there and he's just going to get fed 200 air yards in a game and
14:52he still looks like this early in the season, like we absolutely should be ranking him very aggressive.
14:58I think he was all the way up to like my wide receiver seven last week once Pukenaku was ruled out.
15:05And they also like to kind of change what they were doing a lot more like 11 personnel than maybe I was expecting there.
15:13And there's like using Terrence Ferguson as like a slot receiver in some capacities.
15:18And when they did go heavy, it's only Terrence Ferguson and Devontae Adams out in the route.
15:24And if that's going to be what they're going to be doing on about a third of their drop backs, that's really
15:32easy for Devontae Adams to pay off. Yeah, Matt, the Devontae stuff was amazing.
15:36But with how much this show and many other fancy analysts talked about Terrence Ferguson this summer, we do need to bring him up.
15:45Sure. Because the slant route that he had in this game, to me, accentuated everything that the Rams discussed this summer in
15:52that, as you know, last year, literally half of his routes were 20 plus yards on the field.
15:58He was in the 2-2 Atwell role. And so all summer, this Rams coaching staff said, we need to get more gimmies,
16:06more underneath stuff, more yards off the catch. And while, you know, his hands weren't perfect here in week two, he was
16:13a big part of the passing game. And he had that yards off the catch and then he had the red zone target.
16:21And while Titan might be deep this year, this is also an offense that we want pieces of at every single turn.
16:29And Terrence Ferguson was quite cheap compared to the other pass catchers here.
16:33Yeah, he was dropped a lot in Yahoo leagues last week as well.
16:38Which makes a lot of sense. I was one of the people like that, that had to drop him to pick up
16:45like a kicker or a defense in a league.
16:48You know, it does happen. But he dropped the one pass could have had a even bigger night.
16:54I think there's going to be moments with Terrence Ferguson because he's still a very raw player where he has a little
17:02bit of like the Bambi syndrome running on ice.
17:05I think there's going to be moments with that with him.
17:09But yeah, he ran 40% from the slot in the game on Monday night.
17:13That's basically what he is. He's a movement player for them.
17:17He's going to play multiple alignments. They need him, man.
17:21Like these other guys, Kanata Mumfield, Xavier Smith, you know, they're nice little role.
17:25Yeah. Hey, Tutu had that one little out cut.
17:29Yeah, that was something. He did? Yeah, one little play.
17:32But I mean, for the most part, these are all role players and they need Terrence Ferguson to be the guy that
17:39we kind of hypothesized in the summer. And I mean, I think you see enough proof of concept of it.
17:46I really think like there's enough to get by for this team.
17:50And it'll be interesting when we talk about tight end streamers this week with Terrence Ferguson, the 72% route percentage going against the Broncos this week.
17:59I mean, you would imagine that Devante Adams, who's actually done plenty of battle with Patrick Sertan because they were in the same division.
18:08And, you know, they would draw pretty even on some of those matchups.
18:12But yeah, Ferguson might be the guy that has the better looks here in week three.
18:17I think Terrence Ferguson is the best pickup of going into week three.
18:22I think he's better than the running backs that are available.
18:26I'm, you know, if there's let's say there's like a 10, 20% chance that this puka injury like lingers for longer than they're talking about.
18:34Like this is like sports hernia type of stuff.
18:37Like always makes me nervous. He would be one of the best pickups of the entire year.
18:43And I think just the fact that he did this in week two and like they showed their hand that they want to get him so involved.
18:52Like he's somebody that you can't drop like the rest of the way.
18:57Like there's just there's just way too many outs for Terrence Ferguson to like win tight end, like not finish like the tight end eight.
19:05Like he can be a top three, top four tight end.
19:09So I think he's the number one guy in waivers going to tonight.
19:14And even if you have one of the big producers like, I mean, anywhere from Trey McBride to Sam Laporta to Juwan
19:21Johnson, I even think you can pick up someone like Terrence Ferguson and maybe play him in the slot as we get,
19:29excuse me, the flex as we get deeper and deeper throughout the season.
19:33Because we know a lot of these wide receivers when we're running heavier personnel that limits the number again of wide receivers
19:41that are kind of options for us. And his role did change.
19:45It's not just like the depth of the target.
19:48As Nathan Yonke pointed out, Terrence Ferguson played just as many snaps out of 11 personnel on first and second downs in
19:55this game on Monday night as he played all of last season.
19:59So last year was all the 13 personnel stuff.
20:02And so if we're adding the 11 personnel stuff on top of it, that's fantastic.
20:08Just a quick word on Kyron Williams. Guys, the formula worked once again.
20:12If the Rams scored 28 points, he likely scored a touchdown.
20:16If they're trailing, he plays 75% of snaps. I thought it was great, Harmon, that he wasn't punished for the fumble.
20:23McVay talked about afterwards that he learns from that immediately versus other coaches that, you know, try to punish them and try
20:30to, you know, say, oh, you're going to do it again.
20:34If the odds aren't in your favor, he had a touch immediately on the first snap of the next drive.
20:41Yeah. And all the Blake Corum bros got just enough at the end of the game to see like, see, this, this
20:49guy should be getting the football more. It doesn't matter.
20:52Like Sean McVay loves Kyron Williams. He always will.
20:55And I'm with you, Josh. I can't stand the.
20:58All right. The guy fumbled. Let's take him out.
21:01Like, really, let's make sure he definitely isn't overthinking it.
21:05You know, this is just like general psychology. You hammer this to home.
21:09You're going to be thinking about that fumble and the fumbles keep coming.
21:14So, you know, it doesn't really matter. Kyron Williams is a good back.
21:18I'm with you. Like, just keep rolling. Yeah. With that said, Blake Corum looks awesome.
21:23Oh, yeah. So it's really nice to have two running backs out there.
21:28And the Rams, as you guys said, are facing the Broncos.
21:31They're only projected for 23 and a half points this week.
21:35But there's plenty of time to talk about that.
21:38All right. We'll go back to Sunday night football.
21:41Kansas City Chiefs are up first. Hayden, simple question.
21:44So is the passing offense just Travis Kelsey all over again?
21:48I mean, you're not wrong with that. And there's like some real evidence that is actually working.
21:54Nate Tice had the miles per hour for Travis Kelsey.
21:57And in 2026, way faster than he was in the previous two or three years since he started dating and then marrying Taylor Swift.
22:06And then I looked at it yards after catch wise through two weeks.
22:10He's number one in the NFL, the number one in the NFL.
22:14So he's always just going to have the feel with Patrick Mahomes.
22:18And obviously they did that once again out of structure a couple of times there.
22:23They're going to give him a couple of cheapo touchdowns here.
22:27And then I just think he looks in better shape right now.
22:31And then looking ahead in the next week, they're projected for 28 and a half points.
22:37Like, how is he not a top five tight end when they're projected for that many points?
22:43He's tied in eight in usage and everything looks amazing.
22:46I mean, we the three of us all got married here within the last four or five years.
22:52Right. I mean, you know this. Yeah. Congratulations to all three of us.
22:57What a miracle. You know, this, you get in good shape for your wedding.
23:01You know, you get in good shape for that wedding.
23:05And I'm going to go ahead and guess that there was more people, more eyeballs on the Swift Kelsey wedding than the Norris Winks Harmon weddings.
23:14And, you know, you get in good shape and he's just letting it ride into the regular season.
23:20Okay. He's into football season. Now he's in shape, the whole deal.
23:24And I mean, he does really look good. He doesn't look as fast as he did in his youth.
23:30Of course, that's impossible. But the like fluidity and flexibility for him and like the initial burst, I think, is there.
23:38And it's showing up in terms of them getting him the quick targets like targets fewer than five air yards so far
23:45this year for the Kansas City Chiefs. It's 11 for Kenneth Walker, eight for Travis Kelsey, six for Xavier Worthy, four for
23:53Emmitt Johnson, two for Rasheed Rice, four other guys have won.
23:56I mean, they're trying to get that ball to him and let him run after the catch.
24:02And he's winning after the catch as well. So it makes sense.
24:06And I think he's one of the best bargains at tight end.
24:10It looks like right now. Hayden, we have rankings episodes later this week, but this does leave a bit of a conundrum.
24:18Obviously, you're starting Ken Walker, the third put a pin in that one.
24:22You're starting Travis Kelsey. But in a game where they're projected for nearly 29 points, is that one where you can take
24:30the leap on Rasheed Rice in your flex? Is that one you can take the leap on someone like Taequann Thornton or Xavier Worthy?
24:38Or is this truly, as we move forward, the only confident plays are Mahomes, K9 and Kelsey?
24:44I think once you get to like the wide receiver three range, you kind of sort by projected points.
24:50And that's what I did with like Rashad Bateman, for example.
24:54And I think that Rasheed Rice is going to be at the very top of that.
25:00So like in my early rankings, it's like wide receiver 22.
25:03But this is it's very clearly a different role for him that he's not going to be like the sit and zone.
25:11And we're going to spread them out type of player that he was in the last three three seasons when he he
25:19was targeted on 26 percent of his routes since 2023.
25:22And then this year, it's 10 percent targets per route.
25:25Only a couple screens in there when that was a really big part of his game as well.
25:32I don't think that he looks all the way right either.
25:35Like you can see that when you know, like opens up and that last play of regulation when he didn't try to
25:43pitch the ball out and he's kind of running in the field.
25:47He didn't look that explosive to me. That said, like this seems to be projected for a lot of points.
25:54He's going to get better and probably smoother as the season progresses.
25:58But for like a third round pick like this looks like one of the worst picks that you could have made in that range.
26:06I think that he's still startable. But we're talking about the wide receiver 66 in usage through two weeks.
26:13And this was easy to see coming to for everything we just have been talking about where Rice is also playing outside
26:20more 62 percent versus 48 percent in from 2024 to 2025 because they're playing with more of these heavy personnel groupings.
26:27That's a big part of it for sure. So he's naturally going to be forced more outside.
26:33Also, the guy rehabbed his knee injury from freaking jail.
26:37Of course, he doesn't look all the way right.
26:40And like I've I mean, I've never been a fan of his work against man press coverage, but he has always been a really good zone beater.
26:49And, you know, he's not been a good zone beater so far, even to the point that like you see a couple
26:56of times like this is why it's again. It's tough to talk about Rasheed Rice versus the production on the whole deal.
27:04But like when he's having his big games previously, he would just literally sit there and zone like put his hands up
27:11like we're like we're just playing catch, you know, with him and Patrick Holmes and Mahomes is throwing it to him.
27:19But now the Holmes, because the looks are a little bit better down the field because the way the run game's operating,
27:26he's actually looking further downfield and the passes are hitting.
27:30I mean, this Chiefs offense is fun to watch again, guys, and it's a much more enjoyable product than what we've got recently.
27:37Yeah, it looks a little different. I will say, Matt, the thing that is predictable is that Kenneth Walker, the third should
27:45have been the first round pick in all your fancy leagues.
27:49I know a lot of you out there watching this show have drafted K-9 at the one to turn this year.
27:56And in any other situation, Hayden, I might have, you know, expressed some frustration when Andy Reid was asked about Emmitt Johnson
28:03and if his workload could grow moving forward. And him saying, yes, basically, we need to get him more touches, which, by
28:11the way, on like 14 touches, we already know Emmitt Johnson is a dude in the NFL.
28:17But, Hayden, when you just take a step back, I don't want people to get frustrated by this revelation because when you
28:24look at what K-9 is doing, he's getting 31 and a half opportunities right now, averaging 23 and a half carries and eight targets.
28:32Like that is basically unsustainable. So if we send five or six of those in a different direction, I am perfectly happy,
28:40Hayden, if we drafted Kenneth Walker, the third and a chief's offense behind this offensive line, the figurehead, the franchise altering player,
28:48and he averages a cool 25 touches per game.
28:51Yeah, through two weeks. This is prime Christian McCaffrey usage.
28:54So, like, we don't need prime Christian McCaffrey usage to pay off.
28:58There's there's room for this to go go down a little bit.
29:0225.7 expected points. And he's been a model breaker for quite a while.
29:07I think I would take him at the 102.
29:10Maybe you can convince me on some of the wide receivers.
29:14But, like, Bijan's going to be projected for 10 fewer points per game than the chiefs will.
29:19And then, you know, obviously you have Jonathan Taylor.
29:22That's kind of like a separate discussion there. But I think that he's in the mix to be drafted that high.
29:30And my last note, maybe, Matt, you can help me out here.
29:34The Xavier Worthy stuff, it's not working like with like the real stuff, but they are throwing him a ton of screens.
29:41And Raji Rice is the one blocking for Xavier Worthy on those screens.
29:46So, like, Worthy is one of these kind of like in my model.
29:50He's a buy low candidate, wide receiver 20 in usage.
29:54He's a very frustrating player, obviously. But if he's going to be like kind of winning either down the football field and
30:01then getting a couple screens per game, like I think like he should be rostered every single league.
30:07And he's somebody that, like, if you had to in bye weeks when they're projected for a bunch of points, he's becoming maybe a little bit more interesting.
30:17Yeah, that's like about as nice as you could possibly say for Worthy.
30:21But, I mean, if you're just talking about physics, who do you want blocking for the other?
30:27The maybe allegedly 165-pound player or the guy who weighs, you know, 200-plus pounds?
30:32I mean, I think that kind of makes sense.
30:35And, yeah, Rice only has two screen targets throughout the course of the season so far through two weeks.
30:41And that's not what we're used to. Like this is the problem of this is the issue with the Worthy-Rice tandem is
30:49that Rice is always eaten on the Mickey Mouse stuff.
30:52But you also have to roll cater to Xavier Worthy, too, to make it work.
30:58Again, it's like selfish. But, God, I really wish they just had one real deal.
31:03Like I can funnel the ball to this guy, wide receiver.
31:06Could they make a move for someone? Could they make a move?
31:11Well, I'm Jerry Judy. He's available. He's got to be available, right?
31:15I know everybody wants to like Marv, BTJ. I'm like, ah, the guy that's probably going to get moved is Jerry Judy.
31:22Okay. Let's talk about Indianapolis Colts because, Matt, I want to send it right back to you.
31:28One of your favorite wide receivers to talk about and every single fantasy analyst favorite wide receiver to talk about.
31:35Josh Downs had arguably the best game of his career in terms of two wide receiver set route running and production on the week.
31:43He finishes wide receiver 23 in half PPR. And, Matt, I think that this will only be leaned into more because of Alec Pierce's absence.
31:52That will likely mean Laquan Shredwell will play as the ex downfield player and then maybe Darius Slayton if he can catch up.
31:59So what do you see from Josh Downs? What are you expecting on a weekly basis now with Josh Downs?
32:06Yeah, Darius Slayton, one of the OG actual sacrificial ex receivers when I started thinking about that as a term.
32:13So I'm not worried about that when it comes to Josh Downs.
32:17He ran around on 71% of the dropbacks with two or fewer wide receivers on the field.
32:23He previously averaged 8% in the first three seasons of his NFL career.
32:28He ran around on 92, 93% of the dropbacks overall.
32:31He had never been higher than 76% in any season previously.
32:35I mean, he's like a 60-40 slot player. I think this is totally right.
32:39He's winning on some quick slants, some routes out of motion as well, which again gets him to free releases.
32:46But he also critically got three targets on kind of these bigger outbreaking routes, at least farther than 10 yards down the field.
32:54That's the part that they're going to have to continue to keep pushing that button because, I mean, Keenan Allen, that's not going to happen.
33:03Laquan Treadwell, probably not going to be a high-volume player there.
33:07Like, Tyler Warren is basically living in the flats and the underneath areas.
33:11So they need to continue to hit the Josh Downs button on these outbreaking routes.
33:16And I think he can win. I've always been a fan of Downs in that way.
33:22So I just think it's only going to go up from here.
33:26And like this Colts team, they're going to be using a ton of play action, getting the ball out of Daniel Jones' hands.
33:34I think that's going to lead them into their best separator, which is pretty clearly by a long shot, Josh Downs, at this point.
33:42Totally agree on that. Lots of stuff off of motion, like you said.
33:46I think the slot work is really important, too.
33:49They're kind of like sacrificing Keenan Allen in some of the more difficult situations there.
33:54And those aren't going to work. Like you said, the two X receivers in a rotation, that's not going to work either.
34:02He's had five games with Alec Pierce either out or only seeing one target like he did in this past game.
34:09He has a 24% target share in those games.
34:12I think the other note for the Colts, and this just goes for everybody, that defense is just terrible.
34:19Their linebacker play in general, they're just trying to figure out what they even want to do schematically.
34:25They just don't have enough good players in the back half there.
34:29So there's going to be moments where Josh Downs is going to be really relied on in a PPR scheme-y type of way.
34:37But he's just a much better football player than a lot of those guys that have eaten.
34:43So I think he's firmly a wide receiver three moving forward.
34:46I think there is a chance that he could be a wide receiver two in full PPR.
34:52Theoretically, Hayden, if the Josh Downs-led Indianapolis Colts play the Houston Texans in week three, would you still view him as the wide receiver two slash three?
35:01I think you have to view him still as a wide receiver three.
35:06Even the best defense, we've seen this with the Texans, even the best defenses still allow points through the air.
35:13And I think that he's, Josh Downs is pretty easy to kind of cater towards.
35:18And Shane Steichen's so smart. And the Tyler Warren stuff, it's still just the same four plays to Tyler Warren.
35:25They really have not expanded that beyond that. And I think that they're probably realizing that Josh Downs, when they need nine
35:32yards, the ball is going to go to Josh Downs a lot more than it will anybody else in the offense.
35:39Yeah. I still trust Shane Steichen. You know, he's been, I think, dealt some difficult cards as of late, like the just
35:47movement of, I understand Adonai Mitchell probably wouldn't have maybe blossomed or spread his wings on the Colts as he is doing
35:54to the degree he is doing with the New York Jets.
35:58And then they move Michael Pittman and then the Alec Pierce non-surgery, then surgery.
36:03Then now this is an aggravation. And now he's not having surgery again.
36:07That like, Adonai Mitchell, Matt, would have been like a perfect replacement.
36:12I know. Would he have not? So I understand why they made that move.
36:16Kind of. I mean, Sauce Gardner with two first round picks is absolutely ludicrous when we look back on it in the state of this defense.
36:25offense, but it's just there's not enough going on right now for this team to hit the highs.
36:31Obviously, he's the number one scoring offense of last year.
36:35And I still believe in him as a coach.
36:38And I think Daniel Jones is playing above average football at this moment.
36:42And obviously, once they get to the red zone, you have Jonathan Taylor, you have Tyler Warren.
36:48But I'm a bit nervous for this team when they face like the biggest defenses.
36:53Whereas last season, when they were at their best, they were putting it on some of the best defenses.
37:00Yeah, I do think this offense is going to feel really tight.
37:04Like they're going to have to get explosive plays from the run game because it's probably not going to happen consistently through the air.
37:12I will note Josh Downs has two games over 100 yards in his career.
37:17One of them was against the Houston Texans in 2024 because like, again, they do so much to motion him around and
37:24get him away from some of the perimeter corners there.
37:28And like normally, I don't love the player versus defense stat.
37:32But because the Texans have been pretty static in terms of like same coaches, a lot of the same players, I think
37:39it does make a little bit of sense there.
37:42He also had 60 yards in the week 18 game at the end of last season.
37:48I do think, though, Josh, like you bringing up the 80 Mitchell trade and just I mean, the sauce Garner trade in
37:55and of itself was an emotional trade by Chris Ballard.
37:5980 Mitchell also was an emotional trade away there.
38:02They were like basically rage traded him. I do think this is a team that definitely could make yet another like emotional move at the deadline.
38:11Like, again, I'll say they could totally be the team that trades for Mark.
38:15It's like Reggie Wayne is his coach bringing him home.
38:19Chris Ballard is absolutely completely desperate. I mean, this team is this team hired Jeff Saturday off the ESPN booth for the good vibes.
38:27You think they you think they wouldn't make the Marv trade just for like a good couple months of press.
38:34I think it could happen. You know, Matt, I was thinking about this.
38:38If Jim Irsay was still around, he did make a, you know, move for a former bus top five pick in Trent Richardson.
38:46And maybe he would have done the same thing here with Marvin Harrison Jr.
38:51But, you know, I think his daughter maybe has a bit more zoom out perspective on on some of this stuff.

39:42The crown is yours. All right. Let's talk about the LA Chargers.
39:46Hey, and I posted a highlight reel or let's say a low light reel.
39:51It's a comedy of errors. And, you know, everyone wants to point the finger at one person.
39:57The finger should be pointed at about seven or 11 different players and then maybe a coach on top of it in Mike McDaniel.
40:05There's a few news items that hit on here.
40:08David Njoku and Charlie Kolar are going to injury reserve.
40:11They buried Aranda Gadsden on the depth chart this offseason because of his poor blocking.
40:17I would say rightfully so. But now, Hayden, they have no one to turn to and also no one to turn to
40:24other than Latin McConkie to actually catch passes. So how are you handling this Chargers team that we overdrafted and now are looking to potentially bench?
40:33Well, I think when you lose David Njoku and Charlie Kolar, like that's only going to make their problems worse.
40:40Like they're struggling in pass protection and running the football.
40:43I mean, we watched what Aranda Gadsden did as a blocker, as a rookie.
40:48Like that's why he was behind those guys all in camp.
40:52And then I was looking at, all right, who else do they have on the practice squad?
40:58They have an undrafted free agent rookie from Wyoming.
41:01And then the next guy, it's Patrick Herbert. That's Justin's younger brother.
41:05That is currently who they might have to bring up is Justin's younger brother.
41:10So things aren't going well. It's predictably the interior.
41:13I think that their center is just like too weak to start right now.
41:17Cole Strange has been a problem. Joe all like pre-snap has been a total mess.
41:23And Max Crosby got him a couple of times.
41:26A defensive tackle got him a couple of times as well.
41:29I think Slater's been a little bit more up and down.
41:33And then Justin Herbert himself has just been missing throws.
41:37And then also just like chucking the ball into coverage when you shouldn't be doing that on top of that.
41:43So there's not a positive takeaway. Nate Tice went up and down their coaching staff.
41:49And was just ripping them on football 301. If you guys want to go listen to that.
41:54Like going coach by coach. It was like, I know this guy.
41:58This guy stinks up and down the list. So I don't feel very good about this right now.
42:05Paraphrasing. Oh man. It's so bad. The only thing that's good about this team is like Glad McConkie.
42:11You look at the EPA. I know JJ had this stat that like they're the second worst offense in the NFL when he's off the field behind only.
42:20I believe the Cooper Rush Atlanta Falcons are a top seven unit when he's on the field from EPA standpoint.
42:27That obviously isn't everything. But I mean, yeah. And like the combination of offensive efficiency metrics I like to look at.
42:34They are the third worst team in the NFL right now.
42:38I'll be ahead of only the Steelers, which I'm so glad I'm not on.
42:43I mean, good luck to you guys when you get to that section.
42:47There's like, that's just a mess to clean up.
42:50And the Falcons, like those are the two offenses worse than them.
42:55That's where the Chargers are. Not despite the fact that they're basically, you know, theoretically, schematically pushing all the buttons that, you
43:02know, people want to see their second in motion, their first enduring snap motion, ninth in play action.
43:08Too much. It's like almost too much. Right. And I mean, just like, do we need all of this stuff at this point?
43:16Because the operational part of it just looks like a complete disaster.
43:20So like, does this get, does this get better with time?
43:24Is that, is that the question here for this team?
43:27I mean, it, it has to, because hopefully they practice from, you know, Monday to Saturday every single week.
43:34And right now the order of operations of everything, again, it's too much window dressing.
43:39It's, it's doing too much. But then adding onto this though, when things do go correctly, it's, it's what we've pointed to
43:47where it's a David and Joe coup drop that leads to an interception.
43:51It's a Quentin Johnson drop and a whole shot on a good throw.
43:55It's a Brennan Thompson drop on a crossing route.
43:59It's Hey, a second phase play. Cause Justin Herbert's escapes.
44:02I'm going to try to hurt a Brennan Thompson.
44:05And here comes a run day Gatson playing like a Rivas Island cornerback and swatting it away before it gets to him.
44:13And then, Oh, we have the running game on top of this, which has been Mike McDaniel special over the last couple of years.
44:21And Omar and Hampton has a fumble and back to back weeks.
44:25And to be honest, keep Mitchell was fast, but Keaton Mitchell just falls over in first contact.
44:31If he's breathed on, he's too small and he gets taken straight down.
44:35So Matt, I think my point is they don't have anything to lean on completely like to, to fall on and say,
44:43Hey, this is what we can focus in. And this is our identity for this week because Trevor pinning coming in and
44:50starting at one of the interior spots at guard.
44:53Like that's going to be rough. Ben Solak pointed to this out on one of his pieces that last year, the dolphins
45:0113.5% explosive run rate, uh, led the NFL. The chargers are down to 9.1% and 0.2 yards before contact, which is third worst among offenses across the NFL.
45:10So, I mean, Hey, the simple question is what is Mike McDaniel doing well right now?
45:16And the answer is nothing. The answer is nothing.
45:19And I just think that the blocking up front, like just, it's just not going to get fixed.
45:25And I think that the timing, like a good example of this is just like, they have a fullback that knows the
45:33system and is just not getting it done. Like everything just feels like it's a beat off.
45:38And then I think some of the issue just to, uh, uh, circle in on a Martin Hampton is his just like ability to find the cutback.
45:48It's kind of two dimensional and like one, like you have to have the vision for it.
45:53And then also, you also have to like, have the patient, the ability to turn.
45:59And he just doesn't have that. It's like watching Devon H in that role than Hampton do is like two totally different backs.
46:06You want Hampton working downhill, but they don't have the interior alignment.
46:11Like you can't do Cole strains and, uh, Jake Slater, uh, slaughter, uh, doing duo runs.
46:16Like that's just not going to work. So I don't know what they're going to do here.
46:22This seems going to be like, you know, throwing the ball to lad McConkie a bunch.
46:27Hampton will have some like big permitter runs that actually do hit from time to time.
46:33But I think like the consistency, like this would not be, it would not be surprising to me if this is a
46:40team that's like bottom five, bottom 10 and like three and outs, because I just don't think they're going to be able
46:48to have any form of, of consistency at all.
46:51Yeah. And what we've talked about is their schedule.
46:54This should have been the easiest part of the season and just, you know, the next four games, it's the Broncos chiefs Rams and Texans defenses.
47:03So yeah, I mean, lad wasn't playing third downs in the first half and then was playing third downs in the second
47:10half and was the only dependable player to find zones and sit in them and catch the football consistently.
47:17And so we really need lad to be like a 85% snap player from here on out for this team to have
47:24any chance of like chaining plays together in order to sustain drives.
47:29Um, all right. Let's talk about Chicago bears. I mean, massive changes for them too.
47:34We have Caleb Williams nearly running in a touchdown to win the game, going down with a hamstring injury.
47:40Then we assume because he goes into the game and finishes it out that Tyson Baygent is going to be the starting quarterback.
47:48Yet we wake up on Tuesday morning and Tyson Baygent is in concussion protocol and Matt Harmon, the bears quarterback three is case Keenum.
47:56And now he has to support the wide receiver 49 in Roma Dunze wide receiver 50 and Luther Burden, the wide receiver
48:0429 in Cleef Raymond and Colson Loveland has one catch for three yards.
48:08So are you thrilled that case Keenum is the person and has the responsibility of turning around all of our fancy seasons?
48:16The last time case came through a pass was Christmas Eve of 2023 in a game against the Cleveland Browns when he played with the Texans.
48:25Uh, and he averaged 3.6 yards per attempt. So I'm not feeling great, Josh.
48:29I'm actually feeling pretty bad about like a case Keenum start in the year 2026.
48:35That's definitely not what I bargained for, for sure.
48:38And there's a lot going on with this bears offense.
48:41I think they got, I think Ben Johnson got outcoached in week two.
48:46And I love Ben Johnson. He's one of my two or three favorite play callers in the NFL, but like watching that
48:53game live a little bit and then certainly watching it back, I just think kind of outsmarted himself with some of the
49:01Colson Loveland using him as an inline blocker, uh, a ton.
49:04You know, when you look at the rate overall, he ran around on 71% of the dropbacks when they got an 11 personnel.
49:12Um, he was still, you know, out there or heavy personnel groupings.
49:16He was out there a decent bit and 11 personnel.
49:20He's just, it was a lot of blocking for Colson level, which, you know, he's a good blocker, but I think you
49:27want him out there in the route and being more of a safety blanket.
49:32Like Khalif Raymond has been their safety blanket so far.
49:35He had four catches when Caleb Williams was under pressure in week two, and he was under pressure a ton with all the blitz looks.
49:44Um, Luther burden. I don't think number one, doesn't look all that great to me.
49:49He's probably still coming back from missing a ton of time.
49:53Uh, Roma Duneza is also coming back from missing a little bit of time too, but he at least got back to being a full-time player.
50:02Uh, I know again, we joked about this on Sunday.
50:05The mob was going to be coming for Hayden, uh, because he called Luther burden, a part-time player.
50:11He was even more right in, in week two, uh, Luther burden ran a route on.
50:17And just 29% of the plays when there were fewer than three receivers on the field.
50:22It's, it's just like, is he a hundred percent right now?
50:26I don't know. Cause you would imagine he would be getting some of those layup looks, not Khalif Raymond, but that's not
50:34like his role has changed a decent bit from last year to this year.
50:38I see just one screen to Luther burden this year.
50:42He's not playing nearly as much slot as what I think a lot of people were expecting, but it does make sense.
50:49Like they want Khalif Raymond on the football field.
50:52Like that's the only way he can be on the football field.
50:57So yeah, his eight outs, almost 10 yards down the football field for Luther burden.
51:02So obviously like when you got replacing DJ more basically, like he's, he's basically just his, his routes and alignment is by
51:09and large, just replace CJ more, but playing less.
51:12Yeah. Really, really fast. And I think for this week, when you got a 38 year old quarterback, let's be honest, like
51:20there's no way case Keenum actually wants to play football right now.
51:24Like he, he, as quarterback three, you want to be a coach and they're facing the Eagles.
51:30So you can't start anybody aside from, I would say Deandre Swift.
51:34You can't start any of these guys, but I do think we should just keep looking at the numbers for Roma.
51:41Doonsay is going to be a hundred percent snap player.
51:44He's pretty much that in week two and then Luther burden versus Khalif Raymond.
51:49And I think that like what you said, Matt on the Colson level and stuff, just like too much blocking.
51:56Like they still do like some isolated stuff to Colson Loveland, but I could use even more than that.
52:03Cause that's what they were doing during that playoff stretch when they would looked unstoppable for a little bit.
52:09And I have not seen that quite as much this year.
52:13Yeah. 18 and a half points that the bears are projected for here in week three.
52:18That's the same as the Tennessee Titans. And it's tied for the third lowest across the NFL at this moment.
52:25Yeah. I mean, I was going to ask you guys, Hey, how can we fix this?
52:31You know, like how can we fix the Colson Loveland stuff?
52:34You kind of outlined that. How can we fix the Luther burden stuff?
52:39Maybe he's just not healthy. And then Roma Doonsay in this offense has kind of always been a bit volatile since the
52:46second half of last season and to now it's just a lot of downfield things.
52:52And I also believe that the Kalief Raymond production is somewhat tied to the two defenses that they played in the opening two weeks.
53:00Whereas, you know, the Panthers have really good outside corners.
53:03So he works over the middle of the field.
53:06He's also the quick access player versus, you know, the extended plays, all that type of stuff.
53:12And then we talked about it with, you know, Brian Flores and his defense where you muddy everything up and you play zone in the back half.
53:21And so there's still that area over the middle of the field.
53:25So I'm hoping at least truly one of these pass catchers makes good on the value because where we're at now, Matt,
53:33it feels like it would be wish casting despite what week one looked like and the amount of points that they scored
53:40that all three of them are going to return value.
53:44Yeah, I mean, it's just it's not going to happen with Case Keenum.
53:48So, I mean, I think Bajent would be OK.
53:51You know, I think Bajent's a solid backup quarterback, and he had a couple of moments when he was in the game,
53:59did get the ball to Luther Burton, got the ball.
54:02Downfield on a deep corner route to Roma Dunze, which was a nice throw and a nice catch from him.
54:09I think that the quarterback injury is really throwing a wrench in all of this.
54:14Obviously, that's not like a very insightful take, because I think otherwise I'd be pretty close to no panic on a lot
54:22of these players and like it would just naturally come around.
54:26But the fact that we again, we're going to get probably one case Keenum start, maybe a Bajent starter to that certainly does throw a wrench in things.
54:35But, you know, once Caleb Williams looks like he's going to be coming back, I'll be trying to buy on probably all
54:43of these guys as long as again, Burden starts to play more.
54:47That's the one I at least am the most concerned about so far.
54:51Hayden, Colson Loveland was drafted as the tight end three.
54:55I believe on Yahoo, Luther Burden was around the wide receiver 25 or 23.
54:59Roma Dunze was a couple spots after that. But pick one name that you're most confident in for the rest of the season.
55:07It'd be Colson Loveland. But at the same time, the rest of the tight end group behind them, they all look really good.
55:15Like almost every tight end has kind of been a win so far.
55:20And I think that's made like this like elite separation kind of bargain that you're hoping for has kind of disintegrated on top of that.
55:28We're a week away, maybe two weeks away for actually buying low.
55:32Like don't buy low this week. Wait for the numbers to come in and then buy low.
55:38Maybe going into week four, Matt, who would your pick be?
55:42Yeah, probably Loveland or Rome, but it just depends on what your receiver looks like.
55:47Let's talk about the Minnesota Vikings. They're up next.
55:50And Kyler Murray is back to the starting lineup.
55:53We only got a handful, a little more snaps of that of Kyler Murray in week one.
55:59It included an interception and kind of a bit of chaos.
56:03I mean, he was kind of running around with his head cut off.
56:07Hayden. So what are you expecting with Kyler Murray immediately returning to this lineup?
56:12We have still seen that Justin Jefferson is the primary piece that everything is revolving around.
56:17Is that how it's going to be? Or can Kyler potentially open up a little bit more?
56:23Yeah, I think Kyler is going to play much better than Carson Wentz will.
56:28And I'm not really looking into the 10 snaps that he had as a Viking.
56:33I just looking at the whole history of Kevin O'Connell and the numbers that they put up.
56:39And I think that Kyler Murray has played good ball for too long to not have success in this offense.
56:46So I didn't really have a whole lot of notes here.
56:50I think my primary note was just on Aaron Jones.
56:53Same. Because he played 90% of the snaps going into halftime.
56:57He picked up an injury to his knee like just for a quick second.
57:02He was like slamming his helmet to the ground.
57:05But then he came back in. They just don't trust anybody else out there.
57:09And I don't think that's going to change. I think they're going to ride him for as long as he can.
57:17He had 10 and a half expected half PPR points in this one.
57:2190% of the snaps from 2024 onward without Jordan Mason.
57:24He's the RB 20 on RB 13 usage. Like this is exactly what an RB two looks like.
57:31He's not the same level player. I also don't think that he's completely washed either.
57:36And then they are going to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense, which has been getting shredded by everyone, including Deshaun Watson.
57:43So I think I feel very comfortable with Aaron Jones, obviously on top of Justin Jefferson.
57:49Anything to add, Matt? Yeah, I really just want to see what it looks like.
57:54One, obviously with Kyler Murray, of course, John Jennings also missed week two.
57:58Sounds like he's going to be back for week three.
58:02That did change a lot of the offense where they got into a ton of two tight end sets because they, you
58:09know, they're not really trying to play like Ty Felton or anything like that on offense.
58:15So Jordan Addison is the guy maybe is the most interesting to talk about.
58:20Like, is there anything from Jordan Addison that we can get?
58:23I naturally think that he's a very boom bust player.
58:27And I also think Kevin O'Connell is a very boom bust offense.
58:31And I think Kyler Murray is a very boom bust quarterback.
58:35So my sense on Addison was always it was going to be very a ton of variants.
58:40And I'm not like I think the way that the Bucs have been picked apart so far this year has been just
58:48picking on linebackers kind of in the underneath there.
58:51I mean, obviously, the long catch and run from Boston is the play that got the highlights from week two, but it
58:59was a lot of like quick outs to Boston as well.
59:02And I'm not sure that that I mean, that's definitely not Jordan Addison's game.
59:07It's probably going to be a big Justin Jefferson outing, I would guess.
59:12Yeah, that's a big thing here that Kyler gets returned against that Bucs defense and try to invest so much in the past rush.
59:20And they have very little of it so far.
59:23And yet the markets aren't really a big believer of this offense at the moment, just 22 points compared to, you know, what the Bucs have allowed recently.
59:32So we'll see if Kyler can, you know, shove that projection, you know, where.
59:37All right, let's talk about the New Orleans Saints.
59:40Calvin Banks left tackle out for 10 weeks per Nick Underhill.
59:44That's a big injury for this team because this offensive line was supposed to be a strength for them.
59:51But so far, it's been the passing attack. Like Hayden Crystal Lave, the wide receiver, five in points per game.
59:57Devon Veli, the wide receiver, 15. Juwan Johnson for the tight end, 17.
60:02And I won't mention where the running backs rank for your sanity.
60:06Yeah, I mean, this offense feels pretty clean to me and that Crystal Lave is no doubt about a top 10.
60:13It doesn't matter who they're facing because they drop back.
60:17They're still first in neutral pace there. I think maybe the two players I want to talk about were Juwan Johnson and then obviously the running back rotation.
60:26But stick with the pass game, the Juwan Johnson stuff.
60:30Like this guy rules after the catch and he can dunk on some players as well.
60:35This game, he had a couple of moments where he was like beating defenders to the sideline for chunk gains.
60:42He was hurtling guys. There was a moment where there's four Baltimore Ravens like circled around him.
60:48He somehow got out of that, hit the gas and nearly scored a touchdown.
60:52There was no reason for Juwan Johnson to have that much yards after the catch.
60:58He's just like a very good player. And I think that he's the second best player in the pass game.
61:04I think that Baylor is like an interesting compliment.
61:08But Juwan Johnson's like, I think, hashtag good. And he's been kind of like pretty relevant in every single Tyler Shuck game.
61:15So there's a lot of tight ends that we need to be talking about in fantasy.
61:21But Juwan Johnson absolutely should be. He's the tight end 10 on tight end six usage.
61:26Yeah. Juwan Johnson is good. Do you guys know that Bryce Lance has run 77 routes this year?
61:32Had no clue. I mean, well, he's got five targets on those routes.
61:37So good for a cool 6.5% targets per route.
61:40Yeah, which is I do actually think is important because Valey is kind of a power slot who you can play on the ball.
61:48Obviously, you want Juwan Johnson detached from the formation.
61:51This is definitely a sacrificial X in Bryce Lance because you also want to get Chris Olave in motion as the Z receiver to Olave.
62:00He's been awesome. He's playing like a easy top eight receiver in the NFL.
62:04I don't know that there's that. I mean, look at Mike Thomas even though Michael Thomas, he knows the Saints is nice.
62:12I agree. The Saints is nice so far this year.
62:15Shuck is really good. I'm with Hayden on my notes on Juwan Johnson.
62:20Powerful after the catch and like, you know, just a difficult cover in general.
62:25Valey really wasn't great from a fantasy standpoint in week one, but he got you just enough if you had to go back there.
62:33And he's a good player. And this just really revolves around Olave.
62:37And the way they use Olave is really cool because you get a lot of the like quick stuff, like quick out routes, little quick hitches and things.
62:46But you can basically write it in pen at this point that you're going to get two awesome catches on in breakers from Shuck and Olave.
62:55Those guys have a great chemistry on those patterns in particular.
62:59So I'm buying this Saints offense in the passing of the run game.
63:04You know, that's another question. But I do think in the passing game, like everything that we're getting so far, we can continue to ride.
63:12Yeah. I mentioned that Olave is the wide receiver five in points per game right now.
63:18And I think you might be able to rank him as a top five wide receiver rest of season, if not six or seven.
63:26And that's the lowest we can go here. Hayden, so often when we get to week 12, we think about the overreactions
63:33and conclusions that we made after the first two weeks of the season.
63:38And we laugh at them, right? That feels so long ago.
63:41With that said, should we already be making the conclusions and the sweeping declarations about this running back room and just saying,
63:49hey, you can't start Travis A-chan now and into the future?
63:53We're getting very close to that. I would call him a flex play, but I hope he's not your flex.
64:00And like, that's not what we signed up for in the fourth round here at all.
64:05It's been CJ Donaldson in pass protection that remained true in week two.
64:10And then Alvin Kamara was in the Kendra Miller role, which means like early down, like every other play next to Travis A-chan there.
64:18So he had 5.8 expected half PPR points last week.
64:21I do think that the Kelvin Banks injury is going to matter.
64:25He's one of the more promising left tackles in the league.
64:29The Saints also tush push with Tyler Shuck at the goal line.
64:33And then there was a couple pitch plays where Travis A-chan dropped one of them.
64:38And then the next one they got him to the other side, he kind of bobbles that one because the motion player was lagging a little bit.
64:47Tyler Shuck kind of waited a second. But both pitch plays to Travis A-chan went absolutely nowhere.
64:53So they're trying to get him to the perimeter, but they're not trying to get him up the middle.
65:00And I just don't see how this one's going to go away because they clearly don't think he can pass protect.
65:07And if they want CJ Donaldson to play more, then that means that Alvin Kamara has no choice but to play on early down.
65:15So this is a three-back committee on a team that just wants to pass the ball.
65:21Number one, Alvin Kamara in the Kendra Miller role is a hell of a sentence.
65:26It's true! I know, it's true! It's just this is such a weird team.
65:31Do you guys, what's your theory on this? Do you think they just got Travis into camp and were like, well, this
65:38is not what we thought we were getting out of this?
65:42Or is it a money wire fraud, as I know you guys have both theorized?
65:47Yeah, I mean, I have thought that Travis A-chan has been mostly a volume sponge in his most successful seasons in his NFL career.
65:55And actually last year, Reeves pointed this out. He benefited most of any running back in the NFL, any fantasy football player, in terms of short field touchdowns.
66:05And that's how he got his fantasy points. It was like 40 more than Jonathan Taylor, who was number two.
66:12So, yeah, I mean, he's never been a good pass protector.
66:15So to me, it's not surprising that they are putting someone else in that regard.
66:21What is shocking is that they don't even want him to be out there for like the between the 20s stuff.
66:28Yeah. That's the scary part. Here we are. Here we are.
66:31All right. Denver Broncos. Speaking of running back rotations, let's talk about Jonah Coleman here.
66:37He is a popular pickup when it comes to the waiver wire.
66:41J.K. Dobbins left with a hamstring tweak. We're not exactly sure what the details are with that.
66:47J.K. Dobbins also got stuffed three times at the goal line.
66:50Jonah Coleman ran in his goal line touchdown and then also had to play at the end to slide versus, you know,
66:58pick up an extra 15, 16 yards. Matt, here's my issue.
67:02Okay. With this backfield. We can each like pick our favorites.
67:05Some people are Dobbins types. Some people are R.J.
67:08Harvey types. A lot of you are Jonah Coleman types.
67:12I don't think it's going to matter unless there is only one of these running backs in the backfield and is left over just like R.J.
67:21Harvey was last year. Like, for example, okay. If it's J.K.
67:25Dobbins and Jonah Coleman. Well, Dobbins has most of the between the 20 stuff and maybe some goal line work.
67:31And then Coleman has the receiving work and then maybe some goal line stuff versus if it's Coleman and R.J.
67:38Harvey, then you have Coleman getting between the 20s.
67:41And then the cool last plays inside the 20 yard line go to R.J.
67:46Harvey along with the passing down work. Like the only reason why R.J.
67:51Harvey was so successful for those six, seven, eight weeks in fantasy football last season is because he had everything.
67:57And I don't know if one of these backs is going to have everything at any point this season.
68:04I would be I would be pretty surprised by that, too.
68:08I do think there is a nonzero chance that if Coleman is able to get a start, that he essentially forces J.K.
68:15Dobbins aside and becomes the lead early down back because I don't think Dobbins has looked great this year.
68:22And I I am a fan of Jonah Coleman's game because he's just like the type of running back.
68:28I like where he's a little bit of a coach's catnip where he does all the little things.
68:34Well, he's a good grinder back. I like Jonah Coleman.
68:38I probably I would like to see more of him.
68:41But I am also with you that it might be a little bit difficult for fantasy because like Tyler Bidet plays in
68:49week two and he matters as a pass protector.
68:52Like he's going to just eat snaps from some of these guys because their pass protection with the backs and the tight
68:59ends, but especially the backs in week one was a nightmare.
69:03And they're like, OK, well, we're not doing that again.
69:06We're just going to go ahead and put our best pass protection back out there.
69:12A decent bit, even in the second half of last week's game, he still played on 19 percent of the offensive snaps to Tyler Bidet.
69:20So he's just going to eat a little bit there from the passing down stuff.
69:25And that certainly is the thing that like Coleman was a good pass protecting back in college.
69:31He had a couple of nice reps. I think in week two, he would have to really like push Bidet completely aside,
69:39I think, to become a fantasy factor, even if the other two guys are absent from the game.
69:45I love backfields like this because this is just wasting three roster spots for your league mates.
69:51I never get involved in this type of thing.
69:54Just looking at this like chart right here, perfect example.
69:57The Broncos are 24th and running back usage collectively, and they're chopping that up three different ways.
70:03They're just not going to use these and my film evaluation.
70:07So I watched all these touches. The J.K. Dobbins goal line stuff, the blocking got wrecked on the first two plays.
70:14And then there's a botched snap and pitch from Bo Nix that that play was completely derailed either.
70:20I thought that J.K. Dobbins like looked pretty good.
70:23And then I agree on the Jonah Coleman stuff that like he's like a coach's pet, does everything well.
70:30I think we are really flirting with just like too small, not explosive enough to matter.
70:35I think we're like we're really getting close to that.
70:38So I think that Jonah Coleman is like waiver wire bait and you do not want to pick him up.
70:45And there was also a report that J.K. Dobbins was dealing with cramping, not a soft tissue like injury.
70:52And I think that J.K. Dobbins are going to keep riding him.
70:56So this is this is for hopefully everyone else in your league and not us.
71:01Yeah, look, I just heard a lot this offseason of, hey, if J.K.
71:06Dobbins can just stay healthy, then he can be a good value.
71:10Well, I mean, last year and by the way, no running back has achieved 250 touches attached to a Sean Payton offense ever in his entire career.
71:19J.K. Dobbins was on pace to do that last year and was on pace to have a career season.
71:25And yet because of his lack of receiving role and everything else and just the running back usage entirely, that would have
71:33equaled like the running back 23 in points per game.
71:36So Jonah Coleman, where he was drafted in like the running back 40 ish territory is a win for you.
71:43Hey, I just don't know if it's one of these wins that goes from, you know, running back 40.
71:50And one of these one, like one of these guys finishes as the running back 18, 16, 14 is like a huge fantasy changer for you.
71:59To me, like Terrence Ferguson, I'll say Emmett Johnson, like those guys to me, like that's how you have a path to winning your league.
72:07Jonah Coleman and R.J. Hartley, these guys aren't going to win your league.
72:12It's too complex. Matt, I buried the lead. Maybe the number one thing that saved our ass.
72:17Yeah, baby. Is Jalen Waddell having a big, big, big week?
72:21That's what we care about most here, right? What worked?
72:25What worked for Jalen Waddell in week two that we didn't get to see in week one?
72:30Well, first of all, early, like right away, they did get him some like easy button touches.
72:36We did actually see a little bit of that for Jalen Waddell.
72:40Right off the bat, they threw him like a screen pass.
72:44But for the most part, like it's a lot and a couple of quick like outs, the whole deal.
72:51So that's good to see. But tons of like just big breaking routes trying to crack open zone coverage, which is exactly
72:58what they wanted Jalen Waddell to be. Yeah. The route chart is perfect here.
73:03It shows you like some of the quick hitters, but also, again, some of the bigger downfield routes.
73:09So the huge crossers, huge crossers, posts. I mean, this is what they brought him double moves.
73:15Yeah. I mean, he's he was awesome in this game.
73:18I thought he was awesome in isolation in week one.
73:22And we got the exact role that we wanted.
73:25They just got spags and got a little bit like they jumped on him.
73:30I think they were surprised by that, what Denver got in week one.
73:34But yeah, I mean, all was right in the world.
73:37It does feel you know, I know, Josh, you said this, that it does feel very similar to like George Pickens from
73:452025, where the first game is not great and then we're just kind of flying from there.
73:51I'm hoping that that's the case because usage, effectiveness and bonus wasn't even perfect in this game, but otherwise like checked all
73:58the boxes that we were looking to see. Yeah.
74:01And the Jaguars defense is not an easy one to do that against this group, I think, is a real positive, too.
74:09Like, I love the switch release crosser for 20 yards.
74:12He was missed on a double move early. As you said, he got two screens.
74:17The second double move only went for 29 yards, but it could have been a maybe 73 yard touchdown because he put
74:25the cornerback in the ground with his route and only had to beat the safety if the ball was thrown accurately.
74:32But the ball was underneath because he was so wide open that that was enough gain that they needed there.
74:39Hayden, anything you want to add here with the Waddle usage?
74:43I like the Bo Nix rollout, which they did not do against the Chiefs.
74:48And then that was they had two in breakers with Sutton and Pat Bryant.
74:52And then they had Jalen Waddle over the top of that.
74:56Sean Payton after the game said that they went into this saying like no excuses.
75:01Jalen Waddle has to get the ball every single week.
75:05I think that week two is the baseline. We're going to throw away week one for the rest of the season.
75:12Ten targets, 14.3 expected half PPR points. I was wide receiver 12 on the week.
75:17I think that he's going to hover around there.
75:20He's probably not going to have the full George Pickens because I don't think he's going to have quite the red zone looks.
75:28They do too much, you know, manufacture touches in that area in this offense.
75:33But I do think that he looks like an upside wide receiver two in the making.
75:38And I think that week two was the real stuff.
75:42Week one was the outlier. And Matt, I guess the next question on this is, OK, what type of wide receiver two is it from Jalen Waddle?
75:51Is it some weeks that he finishes as, you know, a top eight player at the position and then other weeks he's, you know, wide receiver 36?
76:00Or is it, hey, we're going to focus in the passing attack so much on him that the very worst, you know,
76:08it's not going to be this roller coaster Ness.
76:11And we're still going to have the spike weeks that are up there as like a top seven, top five score.
76:18Yeah, I think the down weeks because like as Hayden said and as Sean Payton told his wife, like, you know, draft him on your fantasy team.
76:27Like there's clearly an intention to get him the football a ton.
76:31I think the down weeks will look something like four for 40 as opposed to what we got in week one.
76:38But the big booms will be there when you're running these deep vertical breaking routes and you've got a quarterback who, you
76:46know, is a good player in Bo Nix, but obviously has some volatility and some chaos to his game.
76:52There's going to be ups and downs to it.
76:55Like I think Mecca is kind of suffering through this right now.
77:00Very different player, but like suffering this a little bit with like Baker Mayfield, like there's just going to be natural ups
77:07and downs when you're running these big breaking routes, even if you're doing it in advantageous looks off the ball and in
77:15motion as Jalen Waddle and a Buka are. So, yeah, I do think just altogether there's going to be these high highs.
77:22I would say as long as we keep getting these quick outs, screens, stuff like that, the bottom will completely fall out on a given basis.
77:31Yep. Love all of that. All right. Let's close this top 10 with the Washington Commanders.
77:37One of the highlights so far of the season is that Stefan Diggs is the wide receiver 11 in points per game.
77:44Hayden, there's some consistency there so far over 13 points at least in each contest.
77:49Through two weeks. But now, as we know, and we don't even know for how long, Jaden Daniels is going to be out.
77:57Marcus Mariota is in. There were a couple narrow and I mean narrow Terry McLaurin plays on like three separate occasions that would have totally transformed.
78:06I think people's opinions of what Terry McLaurin could be as a fancy asset for the rest of the season if he nailed them.
78:14I think Marcus Mariota might be the best backup in the NFL.
78:18He's kind of changed his ways over the last couple of years and that he's like willing to attack deep down the field.
78:26And there was some elements there. Like you mentioned, all those Terry McLaurin plays were so close to hitting.
78:33There was a couple of flea flickers from David Blau.
78:36David Blau is also using Steph Diggs in interesting ways out of the backfield, some option routes, getting down the flats, that type of stuff.
78:45And then there was some moments from Marcus Mariota, like that big corner route for the touchdown to Steph Diggs.
78:51That was a great ball from them. So he's played a lot of football.
78:56He's not like quite as athletic as he was.
78:59He's going to scramble around just a little bit.
79:02But I think among backup quarterbacks, I do think that Marcus Mariota can kind of keep this thing afloat.
79:09Big caveat being no Larry McTunsel. We'll see about Josh Conner, the right tackle.
79:14He left with an injury. And now we have the Seattle Seahawks.
79:18Like, let's take a second. Like, let's let's recalibrate in a week from now.
79:23But I do think moving forward, there's enough interesting elements from Steph Diggs and the Marcus Mariota.
79:28It's like attempted to throw the ball down the football field where Terry McLaurin, like might be able to hold on to
79:36fantasy relevance as we get to buy weeks. But this next week will look horrific because we're talking about a first time
79:43play caller with potentially backup tackles and a backup quarterback.
79:47But I think we should like go into this week, like forgiving the commanders for what we're about to watch.
79:54Yeah, I mean, I came away from watching the Cardinals against the Seahawks.
79:58Being like, I mean, what do you want them to do?
80:02The Seahawks are the Seahawks, man. I think that's what the I think that's what the commanders are going to feel this week.
80:10I think everybody that goes against the Seahawks is going to feel that way.
80:15So not really thinking about these guys this week.
80:18But I think at this point, like Diggs should be the odds on favor to be the leading target catches yards getter in this offense.
80:26I think he looks better than Terry McLaurin right now.
80:30These guys are also like almost the same age at this current moment.
80:34Terry is 31. Diggs is 32, despite that Diggs has been in the NFL longer.
80:39I also think like they need more Antonio Williams to Williams looks good to me.
80:44I need less Deami Brown in my life. I'm not really sure like what the point of the stuff is.
80:51I can't believe Brown is like hanging on to a job.
80:55Matt, truthfully, I was watching this tape and I was like, who is six?
81:00I don't even know who number six is on this team.
81:03I had to go into the depth chart and see it was freaking Deami Brown running route after route, wind sprint after wind sprint.
81:12And I was like, why is this guy playing as much as Stefan Diggs?
81:16I understand different areas of the field. And then for Antonio Williams, as you said, he ran 27 of 46 routes, but
81:24then scored as the wide receiver 70, despite, you know, in week one being the wide receiver 14 on 12 routes.
81:31So it's one of those like, hey, he scored more when he played less, but at the same time, we want him
81:39to play more as we go along because that just means more opportunities for him.
81:44Yeah. I mean, you can't play somebody who's running 43% of the routes like you do need Deami Brown to get shelved.
81:51I think that would be bad news for Terry McLaurin, though, because then he's going to be that guy that's purely on
81:59ball running the running down the field. I don't know if Diggs like just can't play a full snap share at this
82:06point, but if he did, I mean, we would really be talking about a big win for Stefan Diggs, who I mean,
82:14he just like I said this a lot. 2024 to 2025, his reception perception charting was basically the same.
82:20And there was a torn ACL in the middle there.
82:24And based on what I'm seeing so far, I think there's not going to be any drop off to the 2026 results.
82:31He looks great. I know. Yeah, it just is what it is.
82:35Yeah. But his first touchdown in the low red was under center from Jane Daniels off of full speed motion across the formation.
82:43And it was just a quick throw where the defense might have expected like a five step drop or some play action on top of it.
82:52And instead, they just hit the design quick hitter to Stefan Diggs.
82:56And I love that. Like we want these design targets to players like that in the low area.
83:03Hey, before we move on, anything you want to say about the commander's backfield?
83:07Yeah, it's making me nervous. It's a big time rotation.
83:11Rashad White was playing a lot in the first half of this game.
83:15Quick notes on Ja'Cory Krosky-Meritt. There was a pitch where he and Jaden Daniels weren't on the same page.
83:22And that ball was actually fumbled. A couple plays later, Jaden Daniels was yelling at him in the two-minute drill because Bill was not leaking out.
83:31Like he got kind of caught up with the defensive end.
83:34And he wanted him to be an eligible receiver.
83:37And then there was also a play where Bill Krosky-Meritt was a little bit late on a blitzer.
83:44And that forced Jaden Daniels to have to scramble.
83:47So I thought there was like some negatives on the Ja'Cory Krosky-Meritt tape there.
83:51And then Rashad White mixes in at the goal line five-yard line attempt there.
83:56So yeah, he's the RB32 in usage through the first two weeks.
84:00And like I'm just struggling to see how he's going to like climb out of that.
84:06And obviously against the Seahawks, it's like a non-negotiable.
84:09Like he cannot be in your fantasy lineup. But like even beyond that, like I'm really kind of finding – it's a
84:16little bit difficult for me to like find the reasons like how he's going to kind of break out of this tier.
84:24Matt, do you want to stay for the Arizona Cardinals or do you have better things to do with your life?
84:31I mean I definitely have better things to do with my life.
84:35But if you want me to stay, I can stay.
84:39No, it's okay. It's okay. We'll relieve you for this one from the conversation we're about to have.
84:45Matt, thanks so much, man, for joining us each and every week here.
84:49On Stats vs. Film for the top ten. And I guess I'll see you on your show, what, in a couple days?
84:57No, I'm going to be off. One of my wife's best – Oh, that's right.
85:02One of my wife's best friends is daring to get married during the fall.
85:07So I have to travel for it. So, you know, unbelievable stuff.
85:11Wow. That'll be me and Justin Boone filling in.
85:14And we'll try to pump that for the best numbers of the season on your channel for you.
85:20Justin, I'm going to take an insult. Matt, thanks so much, man.
85:24Fine. Appreciate it, guys. Thank you so much. Appreciate it.
85:28All right. Let's go in alphabetical order the rest of the way.
85:32And, Hayden, that lands us with the Arizona Cardinals.
85:35First of all, we need to boilerplate this by saying that they face the Seattle Seahawks.
85:40And I'm at the point already, as Matt just said, that we shouldn't really have any sweeping necessarily takeaways of offensive performance in totality.
85:48Yeah. When a team does play the Seattle Seahawks, they are that degree, they are that level right now.
85:55With that said, only 47 snaps on offense for this team.
85:59And the place that we have to start is with Marvin Harrison Jr.
86:03Mike LaFleur was asked about Marv after the game, his effort and his route running.
86:08He said, quote, I don't see it that way.
86:11I think his running style is different than some other people's.
86:15When you went back and watched Marv, what did you see?
86:19Marv has an effort problem. I don't know what he's talking about.
86:23I think he's just trying to, like, you know, maybe motivate his young player.
86:28I can sense frustration from Marv because he's not a big part of the offense.
86:33But I would also just challenge, like, why should he be a bigger part of the offense?
86:39And in that LaFleur comment, he said, I mean, I got this guy named Trey McBride, who, by the way, Trey McBride
86:46also had a great game against the Seahawks in this one on top of that.
86:51So he's the he's the guy doesn't matter the matchup.
86:55He's going to get home. And it does feel like Michael Wilson is more involved.
87:00But if you watch the two Marvin Harrison, Michael Wilson, sometimes you get the same exact route at the same exact depth.
87:07Michael Wilson looks faster. Michael Wilson is willing to, like, come out of his breaks, no matter if he's the first read or not.
87:16Marvin Harrison is not doing that. You brought up the blocking clips from him as well.
87:21He does kind of have this kind of, like, slow, methodical, kind of, like, gliding nature to his routes.
87:28And I understand what he's saying. But beyond that, like, he's not putting in that much effort there.
87:34And there was a couple times where the ball was even thrown to him and he was not expecting the ball to be thrown his way.
87:43Like, you can't have that. And I think it's correct.
87:46It's I noticed this last year. I noticed this in week one.
87:50And then I noticed it definitely in week two.
87:53And I think the conversation is only going to get louder because I don't think the Cardinals should be getting him the ball.
88:01And I think that's what he's upset about. Yeah.
88:04When I post these clips, you know, I get some responses of, well, why wouldn't he act like this when he's, you
88:12know, not getting the opportunity and he doesn't get the ball thrown in his direction?
88:17Well, you got to earn those. Yeah. You know, like, you got to do it through effort, urgency, all this type of stuff.
88:25And he basically got replaced in running downs after that awful effort that he had against Devin Witherspoon.
88:31Then when at the second level, Tyler Algier gets held up by two tacklers.
88:36And Devin Witherspoon basically gets a kill shot on Tyler Algier because Marv just slips it and doesn't care.
88:42So if we see it, his teammates see it and his coaches see it.
88:47And I wouldn't be surprised if one of two things happens.
88:51Either Marv looks motivated in week three and is zero to 60 every single snap, or they've just simply reduced what he's doing again on top of this.
89:00And as you pointed out with the targets and even more so just the route running, 50% of the time, he's just a clear out guy.
89:09Like, he is the sacrificial ex. He's running for the love of the game routes, which means things open up for Michael Wilson and especially Trey McBride.
89:18And that's his role here. Like, I put him on the drop list this week, even though he's rostered in 98% of Yahoo leagues out there.
89:27And I have zero hesitation doing that. Yeah, I think the question just becomes, like, is he going to get motivated?
89:35But even if that's the case, there's just too many guys to feed in this offense, especially as they ramp up Jeremiah Love.
89:42Or is he just going to get traded? And, like, we just don't see, you know, top 10 picks get traded in,
89:50like, the middle of the third year. But they just paid Michael Wilson.
89:54And I just think Michael Wilson's a better football player than Marvin Harrison.
89:59And it's kind of, like, a little bit redundant in what they're offering there.
90:04And, like, they don't have to have a high-quality third target because Trey McBride is soaking up 37% of the targets as a tight end.
90:12And then Kendrick Bourne, he just, like, kind of slides in as the other side of the zone kind of beaters.
90:19And they're going to get Jeremiah Love a lot more targets moving forward as well.
90:25So I hear you. I would drop Marvin Harrison if I had him.
90:29I was going to be ranking Michael Wilson ahead.
90:32And I'm very curious to see if he's actually going to get traded.
90:36This is, it's not a full Josh Rosen, but, like, we've seen this with Arizona.
90:42Right. I mean, again, it's kind of like a Trent Richardson thing that could potentially happen, albeit I doubt another team would
90:49pay a first-round pick in order to get Marvin Harrison Jr.
90:53on the team. He just also moves differently than he did last year.
90:57You know, I think this added bulk has, he is too big at this point.
91:02He is no longer fluid. He's, again, there's no urgency to his game anymore.
91:07It's like a minivan versus a Maserati, if you want to put it in those terms.
91:13Should we read into at all Tyler Algier running 18 routes compared, or 14 routes compared to Jeremiah Love's eight?
91:20Or is that just, hey, let's, you know, we're playing the Seahawks, let's get out of here.
91:25Uh, no. All three of his receptions were more like check-down variety, only 11% target share.
91:31None of them have been, like, like design screens necessarily for Jeremiah Love.
91:35So that's been, like, moderately disappointing. He's the RB26 and RB25 usage.
91:39So he's a flex play as we kind of wait for his kind of breakout.
91:45It is just, obviously, so, it's so clear that Jeremiah Love's just moving at a different level than Tyler Algier.
91:51So I still remain confident that, you know, by October and November, Jeremiah Love will break out.
91:57But we have to, like, wait for the sign that the breakout's actually coming.
92:02And in the meantime, like, he can be on your bench.
92:06Like, I don't think that's that crazy. I think that he's more of a flex guy.
92:11Uh, but he's parked on my benches in a couple leagues.
92:15Yeah. They're facing the San Francisco 49ers this week.
92:1819 and a half team total at this point.
92:21Next, they're Atlanta Falcons. Uh, maybe we should have included them in the top 10 because they play on Thursday, Hayden, and they have a new starting quarterback.
92:31Michael Penix is going to be there as the quarterback one.
92:34You know, Drake London, the wide receiver 52, a total of 11.4 fancy points through two games.
92:40Cal Pitts has two fancy points to his name.
92:43What are your expectations? I mean, I don't fully know what version of Michael Penix we're going to get.
92:50He's been a full participant for a little bit.
92:53So hopefully he's kind of back to where he was.
92:56It's not like he was moving around a whole lot.
93:00So it was more just like that. He has like the attitude that he just wants to throw the ball around and he's got a big arm.
93:09It's not always accurate, but there's some clear splits.
93:12There's been 12 games between Drake London, Michael Penix.
93:15Drake London is wide receiver three on wide receiver one.
93:19Overall usage at 16.6 expected half PPR points, 34% target share, which is elite stuff.
93:24Defensively, the Falcons are really going through it. We know that their two top edge rushers are out like doorless is banged up right now.
93:32Ebukam is banged up like they're losing everybody. Jesse Bates hasn't been playing quite as well this season.
93:38AJ Terrell just went to injured reserve. His younger brother, who we mentioned, is like slow and small is going to be playing a whole lot more.
93:48Their nickel is coming off a torn Achilles. This Falcons defense is really bad right now, and that's going to force Drake
93:55London, Bijon, and Kyle Pitts into a whole lot more usage.
93:59So completely unwatchable play from Cooper Rush. I'm not expecting, I never really liked Michael Penix all that much, but it'll be night and day difference.
94:08And I think that Drake London kind of goes back into like the top 12-ish mix kind of where we were drafting him as.
94:16I also believe that Kevin Stefanski is a different play caller than what he got with Zach Robinson last year, and I'm
94:24not exactly sure what the Michael Penix, Kevin Stefanski agreement is going to be like.
94:29Stefanski very much in the past, this is why he's worked with veterans, has been, hey, hit your back foot based on the leverage.
94:37This is where you need to throw the football to.
94:40A lot of that stuff is also over the middle of the field where Michael Penix has been terrified to throw the football to.
94:49Again, go back to his days at Washington with Ryan Grubb.
94:52This is why, you know, you had the Jalen McMillans and the Roma Doomsdays all outside the numbers, all outside the hashes,
95:00just big time routes down the field. And I do think Stefanski's stuff is a bit more like time oriented in that.
95:07Yeah. But the number one point is it's going to get better, right?
95:12It is going to get better than what we've had these last two weeks, which has been absolutely abysmal.
95:18Some of these players like Cal Pitts have gotten open down the field and the pass just hasn't been on them.
95:26Drake London, the passive in behind him, just wayward on top of that.
95:30And to your point with London, like almost three yards per route run with Penix compared to 1.9 with Cousins, 2.22 with Ritter and 1.72.
95:39So I almost want to take, despite, you know, you all spending high picks on almost all three of these players and
95:46especially the top two in London and Bijon, I want to take week three, even if they're not projected for that many
95:54points as the start of the new season. Yeah.
95:57And then Hayden, we jump back on next week in Sats vs.
96:01Film and then we get to see, okay, is London utilized in this slot?
96:06Is Cal Pitts getting motion? Is it all down the field stuff with him?
96:10Is it just the gimmies? Because this is a full-on reset for what hopefully is the rest of the season.
96:17Yeah, completely agree. I think it's going to be a shootout team, not because the Falcons are really good on offense, they're
96:25going to have to throw the ball around because the defense is in a really bad spot.
96:31Drake London played a little bit more in the slot in week two than he did in week one, so that's a little bit encouraging there.
96:39But yeah, throw out the first two weeks and just reset.
96:43Baltimore Ravens are up next. Rashad Bateman, one of your massive calls in the wide receiver rankings episode.
96:49By the way, subscribe, leave a thumbs up, and go watch those rankings videos every Wednesday and Friday here on the channel.
96:57Some goodness there that you don't get anywhere else.
97:00So he had a big week, Hayden, but that was, I think, obviously because Zay Flowers missed that contest.
97:06But when Zay does return, does Bateman having a performance like this maybe eat into or absorb some opportunities headed in his direction?
97:14Or is this team just so one wide receiver focused that, hey, thank you for your service, Rashad Bateman, and now we move on?
97:23It's possible, but Rashad Bateman's played a million games with Zay Flowers as the second or third target on the offense and has been not even rosterable.
97:32So I wouldn't straight up drop him because you want to see if Zay Flowers is fully going to play and like
97:39maybe there's something different with the Declan Doyle offense.
97:42There was some real like creativity in that game in the opener and then last week because they have just so little
97:50skill talent out there, I did think that the defenses were like really kind of like putting a lot of attention on
97:57Derrick Henry late in that game and they kind of ran out of options.
98:02They shouldn't have enough players around Lamar Jackson. They still had a 99th percentile, success rate on offense and they lost.
98:09Wow. 99th percentile. They just like come up with ways to lose that game.
98:14I do think that Zay Flowers is like so important to this offense that I'm really kind of just like not paying
98:22attention to what happened in week two assuming Zay Flowers is going to be back for week three.
98:28We talked about these tight ends. Is Mark Andrews in that conversation albeit only about 7.4 fantasy points he's around the tight
98:35end 16 or is he kind of in that next tier of tight ends that we talked about of hey this is deep.
98:43Yeah. I would say he's in that conversation if Zay Flowers is not out there I think he's a top 10 guy
98:51with Zay Flowers he's probably the tight end 16.
98:54He has back-to-back weeks with 8.3 expected points. He doesn't offer that much after the catch but when they're projected for 28
99:01points and you got Dallas who got shredded by Isaiah Likely they had coverage bust last week.
99:07They're kind of going through it. They got backup safeties and backup linebackers out there like you can pitch me on the
99:15matchup being too good for Baltimore in a very clear potential shootout that Mark Andrews could kind of sneak into lineups still.
99:22And just a closing thought on Derek Henry he has the running back three in points per game at this moment there
99:30were a ton of those running backs in the 1-2 turn.
99:34You know we were talking about Ken Walker III I know Matt was talking a lot about Derek Henry but Derek Henry
99:41and K-9 were avoiding the landmines of maybe some other not just running backs but especially wide receivers and pass catchers that were going in round two.
99:50So congratulations if you drafted Derek Henry. Let's talk Buffalo Bills next.
99:54If the Bills played on Sunday and that's when DJ Moore got his injury Hayden I kind of feel like this conversation
100:02might be slightly different but it does seem as if DJ Moore might be playing here in week three.
100:08It's an AC joint and we haven't had that many updates on it.
100:13Regardless Don Kincaid is balling out with DJ Moore in the field and without DJ Moore in the field.
100:19The tight end one on tight end seven usage a lot of like zone beaters in this one but his average depth
100:27of target is just way down the field versus most tight ends and he looks really good on on tape.
100:34He's playing slightly more he's not a full-time player but they're getting him more involved and they're doing like the T-FERC stuff
100:41from last year where they do three tight ends and he's pretty much like a wide receiver.
100:47Yes. Working down the field. There's only like pretty much like two eligibles out there like that's really easy for him to
100:55like really like scam up his yards probably. I think he looks really awesome and this is I would say an offense
101:02where if I'm going to pull a Rashad Bateman if DJ Moore is not going to play the bills are putting up
101:10so many points that I do think someone like Keon Coleman or Khalil Shakir can get home and I just want to
101:17shout out Keon Coleman a couple of nice man coverage wins without DJ Moore and then also a couple of zone wins
101:25where he like stopped in the right spot and Josh Allen found him so if DJ Moore is out I do think
101:32that someone like Keon Coleman could be my Rashad Bateman of week three.
101:37I could also see it being Khalil Shakir gets an explosive to get them to the 50 then Keon Coleman gets a
101:44nice you know 25 yard gain and then Josh Palmer is the one that gets like the 25 yard touchdown like they
101:52almost slice it three different ways versus it going to one guy and DJ Moore.
101:57What's interesting we talked about this many years ago when Dalton Kincaid was drafted Brandon being got the microphone and said hey
102:04this is gonna be great we can run and operate our offense out of 11 and a half personnel we know that
102:12failed miserably but Hayden they're basically going to 12 and a half personnel now with Dalton Kincaid out there along with the
102:19two other tight ends and that turns him into a wide receiver along with the blocking of Dawson Knox and of Jackson
102:27Hawes and so if he can block like a wide receiver in his two wide receiver set version of that which is
102:3513 personnel then they've almost like changed the math on top of throwing more often dropping back more often having more plays
102:42and that's also a change versus the previous you know quote unquote 11 and a half personnel failure that Dalton Kincaid was
102:50a part of yeah it's just a fascinating team I don't know how you stop the bills right now they're one of
102:57those teams where if you don't got an alien quarterback right now it's it's looking pretty difficult and they obviously do Kincaid
103:05that is 225 yards in two games like this this is this is wild he is the tight end one and the
103:12bills and chiefs are projected for the most points with 28 and three quarters in in week three Hayden you said if
103:20you don't have an alien quarterback right now you might not be among the best offenses well next up is the Carolina
103:27Panthers who have the running back eight and points per game with Chuba Hubbard there are wide receiver seven in Jalen Coker
103:35the wide receiver 23 in Ted Aaron Miller the tight end nine and Darren Waller and the quarterback two in Bryce Young
103:42I've said enough about the Carolina Panthers offense what do you want to say I'm not going to call him an alien
103:50I'll call him a minion he's playing really well right now with Bryce Young throwing the ball down the football field totally
103:57different style it's like obviously one of your best calls of the offseason is they're pushing the ball down the football field
104:05Bryce Young like that I love that little like shoulder move to the flat to hit that big side line yep that
104:12was beautiful stuff and like what we've been saying with Jalen Coker and T-Mac both of these guys are really good players
104:20they complement each other well they can go inside outside so they can play matchups so everything is getting home like this
104:27is the team that you needed to draft in fantasy to win and that's you know putting aside the Jonathan Brooks stuff
104:35who's now week to week with that groin injury but right now Chuba Hubbard after we got through like the top 60
104:42picks on Yahoo he's like the only running back that matters beyond that and Chuba Hubbard I think right now is going
104:50to be inside my top 15 or so he is he was the RB12 on rb7 usage in 2024 this year he's
104:58the rb8 on rb14 usage he's running the ball effectively I think that we're a while away from now Jonathan Brooks even
105:05competing for this so to me I think that Chuba Hubbard is one of like the best picks you could have made
105:13in fantasy and I think this is a situation where this isn't like a sell high I think this is just like
105:20ride this thing for as long as they can and the offense being competent this year and maybe even better than that
105:28I think that this is he's probably gonna be like the sleeper of 2026 it's such an excellent point and it's why
105:35I kind of talked the way I did about the Broncos backfield where you know you can draft the running back 30
105:43and he finishes as the running back 22 and you do that two or three times and you think you're a genius
105:50and you pat yourself on the back but the big wins are when you draft Chuba Hubbard as like the running back
105:5831 and right now he's scoring as a running back 8 like that is the big difference here that is what turns
106:05people into league winners and I would say the Panthers running game can even improve like right now it's some success rate
106:13stuff and actually he's what gotten two of his touchdowns as a receiver and not even as a runner the right side
106:20if you just look at you know some of the success rate stuff that is not doing I just love it and
106:28look it's the two defenses that they've played so far in the Bears and the Falcons but guess what the next two
106:35weeks are the Browns and the Lions and so in this environment of bad to average defenses that they face and they're
106:43putting up anywhere from 34 and 37 points heck I'll take 27 points on a given week then we should start all
106:50these guys every single time and then we reset you know in the fifth game of the season when they face the
106:58Eagles or the ninth game of the season when they face the Broncos and the Saints and the Reamans and all that
107:05type of stuff but enjoy it now because how it is operating right now it is it is not a fluke at
107:13all it just seems like everyone is on the same page and Brad Edzik is throwing some new wrinkles in there every
107:21single time in terms of getting to the line quicker and fast snaps and all this type of stuff and they're changing
107:28it and it just looks beautiful on a weekly basis tube hubbard's number one game this year but Bryce Young is not
107:36doing things that he doesn't like doing like this is the exact Bryce Young offense at Alabama and like you top 10
107:43ish play he's their 15th and projected points he doesn't have to run around nearly as much now because like the offense
107:51is functional but he different situations albeit they are both just throwing the rock down the field constantly I am in a
107:58league that I year so we're in that conversation like we're going to have some interesting conversations and I think it's been
108:06one of the biggest fantasy storylines the Carolina Panthers just being a very good offense to start yeah and you know when
108:13T-Mac Coker and Bryce are on the field at the same time good things have happened that's dated back to about week
108:2111 of last season and then Darren Waller is you have to line up in man coverage or beat you in zone
108:28and that's tough to defend at this point okay Cincinnati Bengals are up next they rebounded in a big way in week
108:36two I feel bad for Bengals fans Hayden because I feel like on weekly basis there's really not much to say about
108:43them I will add maybe the one disappointment so far is Chase Brown being the running back 18 in fantasy points per
108:51game at this moment but he just needs to find the end zone he's the RB5 in expected points there's been games
108:58where he's targeted a bunch he's not finished off his opportunities there that stuff will even out there was a really difficult
109:06opponent this last week kind of going into that which is why I had him fairly buried in my is he looking
109:13pretty questionable next to Kenneth Walker and Derek Kennedy right now absolutely but he's looking probably better than Devon A.
109:20Chan and some of the others in that range so like oh yeah for sure like Chase Brown and oh Martin Hampton
109:28to me the environment is totally different so I'm not panicking with him not going to say that he's going to be
109:35an awesome pick especially even this week the team total is mediocre my note on the bangles is we're back to the
109:43predictability part they've ran the ball last week and then about 90% of their shotgun plays they pass the ball if I
109:50know that they know that and certainly the Steelers do as well so it's just something like kind Denzel Boston is scored
109:58as the wide receiver 19 and 10 to open the season now that first week was a bit fluky 46 yard touchdown
110:05two minutes left in the fourth quarter down 34 to three but Hayden this week it was all real his seven targets
110:13five receptions 95 yards and one touchdown we the next season is Denzel Boston where people see all that scoring on their
110:20bench is he a flex option in week three he is more of a wide receiver three we need running backs in
110:28our wide receiver 29 in usage he's been dominant I will say that that first game that catch was very real like
110:35it came in garbage time but that was an awesome grab and this one bouncing off defenders on that dig route back
110:43shoulder balls through the first two weeks 21% target share that's wide receiver 30 stuff I just mentioned wide receiver 29 and
110:51expected points there's going to be rug pulls on the Browns you can't feel too optimistic here but he should be rostered
110:58in every serious fantasy football league and he probably should have been even last week and I do think that he's been
111:06this close to having more big plays in the offense and they're manufacturing a bunch of touches to him less so with
111:13fan almost nothing to Judy so the offense is centering around Denzel Boston and KC Concepcio not to the point where I
111:21think they're they're must plays but they're definitely worth tracking yeah the total for this game this week has already risen by
111:28two and a half points since it 32 on the week that's not fun it's not fun I think that he still
111:36looks decent but the success rate and all the type of stuff is abysmal this year he's just not going to be
111:43helped out by his offensive line I think Spencer Fano looked like all right there left tackle but it's a work in
111:51progress I don't think we should expect that to change there so I think that he's right there in the flex category
111:58but he's certainly not an RB2 okay next up is the Dallas Cowboys again an offense that we last year George Pickens
112:06was still like a top 12 fantasy score with CD Lamb in the offense the defense like there was like maybe a
112:13path where the defense was going to be so good that they're not going to like they're going to have to pass
112:21the football but not the craziest start for George Pickens but seven targets a game that's wide receiver 19 stuff he's wide
112:28receiver 23 and expected points hasn't done a whole lot on them but there's been defensive pass interferences called against him and
112:36I think that he looks like the same player so no panic yeah this is one of those that you see in
112:43your matchup oh they're against the Ravens maybe I should have some conversations but by far and away this game has the
112:51highest total of the weekend at 52 and a half it's already climbed by two points in the market so they're expecting
112:58the Cowboys to still be able to score on the Ravens all right we'll move on unless you want to say anything
113:06about Javante Williams there's just no one coming for his job so if he looks bad or good doesn't matter like he's
113:14going to be a totally fine player RB14 on RB10 usage keep moving Detroit Lions Jameer Gibbs smash I'm on Ross St.
113:21Brown smash Sam Laporta top seven tight in scoring right now eyes are on Jameson Laporta available Jameson Williams the wide receiver
113:2954 in usage more of a wide receiver 3 4 than a wide receiver 2 and that's how I'm going to be
113:36ranking him moving forward I there and they're still really banged up over there and I think that Jared Goff still playing
113:44well I would not be surprised if Jared Goff leads the NFL in passing yards this year and like that's how all
113:51these guys can get home but definitely agree like the floor is way lower than spot against the New York Jets this
113:59weekend and to the Lions defense they just lost Devontae Maddox who has played safety and corner for them like that's again
114:06on top of the Brian branch and Kirby Joseph being on injured reserve so like these next two weeks it's the Panthers
114:14defense so again he's wide receiver 56 with the opening two weeks Jameson Williams is and maybe that's when it rebounds and
114:21we get like two top 24 performances over these next two contests all right moving on Green Bay Packers Christian Watson is
114:29the wide receiver five right now Matthew Golden is the wide receiver 24 right now the running game is freaking horrible non-existent
114:36and right tackle Zach Baco Boele formerly known as last year and Hayden Jane Reed also left this game with a major
114:44injury so how is this team going to change are we going to get even more movement and focus on Christian Watson
114:51moving forward yeah after Jaden Reed went down early in that game and it sounds like Reed is going to miss a
114:59big part of the season and hopefully it's not like a career altering injury it's 47% of his three wide receiver sets
115:06snaps last week were in the slot they're going to elevate sky more as the new third starter and he's a slot
115:14player but they're going to sacrifice sky more to the perimeter and get Christian Watson inside that's how they've gotten Christian Watson
115:21for a couple goal line touchdowns in this offense the offense is completely consolidated around these two so he's the wide receiver
115:29one to me in good matchups like this one against Atlanta AJ Terrell is going to be out all their top edge
115:37rushers are out so I the green way packers is the highest among the NFL at this point and I don't see
115:44how that changes they're just gonna have to live with it and live with no running game for at least the next
115:52few weeks maybe even longer and have everything flow through Jordan Love as he gets hit throwing to Christian Watson Matthew Golden
115:59and that's it like we know what this team is going to be but if you watch the show you left your
116:07draft with one of if not both of Christian Watson and Matthew Golden this summer real quick on Matthew Golden he completely
116:14spun a corner around on a slant route he's doing all the Romeo Dobbs safety blanket stuff he also drew a couple
116:22defensive pass interferences down the football field he dropped the pass over the middle he was game against Brian Flores so I
116:29think you know against simpler defenses this team has a chance to erupt final note I think that Marshawn Lloyd is pretty
116:37much droppable I would not be surprised if Caleb Johnson finishes with the most carries going into this next week and Chris
116:44Brooks the lineup Hayden this is the latest example of there being no such thing as a wide receiver handcuff like none
116:52of these guys worked you know and Aaron Wilson is already reporting that it is week two so that's something I need
116:59to see if that gels at all it's again almost totally new five blockers up front if that can get going or
117:07this is still going to be they can't block their second and third worst in yards per carry both the running backs
117:14there and they're splitting and then David Montgomery didn't have a single carry in the second half because they were a negative
117:22game script this last week they got absolutely lit up by Dexter Lawrence and the boys in Cincinnati the Colts have a
117:29really opportunities because this Texans offensive line looks really bad again they do play the Colts in week three and they're projected
117:37for 23 points so maybe that's an environment where they can have some success here and hey I I think that Woody
117:44Marks looked just as good as David Montgomery the real winner here is Dalton Schultz when he went crazy last week and
117:52that's on 16.6 expected points did even better than that you just don't see 16.6 expected points based off the usage so
118:00what happens when you get 14 targets in grab working over the middle he is not an explosive player but he doesn't
118:07make any mistakes and CJ shroud can't trust the rest of this wide receiver group at this point to an experience on
118:15enough time to gel he's going to pepper Dalton Schultz like this is the perfect matchup to do so I'm undeniable Jacksonville
118:22Jaguars are up next and we have to lead with our guy Parker Washington everyone's guy Parker Washington hopefully all of you
118:30drafted him when watching videos this summer but even this usage exceeds my expectation I mean Hayden he has a 35% target
118:37share he's top four in yards per route run he's fifth in air yard share like these are all underlying metrics at
118:45least the targets per run you would see for a part time player who's overextending based on how many snaps he's getting
118:52on the field no this guy is he's getting the crossers he's getting the choice routes the passing game is he's easily
119:00their second most valuable player on offense behind Trevor Lawrence of course the numbers are sensational he's the wide receiver 13 in
119:07usage in that part time role watching that game for Parker Washington that was not easy stuff that he's just really good
119:15at football so I would just challenge Jacksonville but just play him every single snap I don't know what they're waiting for
119:22yeah speaking of snaps I understand that some Jaguars creators hate when we talk about this but we do need to bring
119:30up the Travis Hunter stuff because he is a part time player on both sides of the ball in week two Travis
119:37Hunter played just working back from injury yeah I don't know I can't explain it he was pretty much a full time
119:45player at corner in week one and didn't do that this week I can't explain it yeah and invested into that pick
119:52like I hope that he is like working back from injury and that's the excuse I guess one more rotation for the
120:00Jaguars is at the running back spot to me my eyeballs facial tootin just looks like the best running back on the
120:07team there's a whole bunch of stuff you can see here I on first and goal was important he was shot out
120:15of a he stayed in for an inside the 10 yard line snap Christopher Brugas didn't check in for one I five
120:23carry he loses three yards and tootin gets right back in there and right now tootin has the most 15 plus mile
120:30per hour runs in the NFL I to stack performances yeah this last week was even better than the first week I
120:38thought I didn't see any critical mistakes as a rusher he had that wildcat play they got Chris Rodriguez on a third
120:45and one wildcat earlier in the game but the more important one at the goal line did go his direction so I
120:53don't think he's he's clearly going to be the leader between the 20s they can throw the ball to them a little
121:00bit more than they have as well so RB 22 on RB 28 usage if I have already gone on and then
121:08you have LaQuint Allen doing his thing and there was what even a series that Amir Abdullah got in this game too
121:15so I'm not saying it's going to be like a four person rotation here but tootin as the running back 23 right
121:23now he's the running back 21 despite looking good and I'm wondering if there's a reason why Jacksonville weakness is the offensive
121:30line and we have to bring that up on the show because that's just like the truth of the matter is their
121:38offensive line is not good it this weekend Las Vegas Raiders are next Brock Bowers will practice this week that's awesome we
121:45also need to talk about Trey Tucker here Clint Kubiak has been an aggressive downfield play caller at every stop even if
121:53those teams in the New Orleans Saints and the Seattle Seahawks were not viewed as downfield aggressive passing offenses and they didn't
122:00do it in week one you know Kirk just didn't throw it for the Raiders I loved what you and Joel said
122:08on the waiver wire show that Trey Tucker is like Rashid Shahid and I think that's that's a pretty good comp and
122:15I think with the Saints Rashid Shahid was averaging out as the wide receiver 36 it Brock Bowers like volume abyss he's
122:23going to be harder to trust I think that he's absolutely rosterable he's like clearly their top wide receiver on film to
122:30me predicting when he's going to get these long touchdowns is like above my pay grade except for last week yes Brock
122:38Bowers instant start yes yeah I got him as real quick on Ashton what happens I mean three drops as a receiver
122:46after lighting it up against the Dolphins and then I don't want to say it but the rushing numbers right now are
122:53not looking good for Ashton Gentry he's not making that their easiest game on the schedule for the opening seven of the
123:01season against the Miami Dolphins so I just wanted to keep that in mind with a bunch of these Raiders that we
123:08were talking about and the declarations in Nash and Gentry after week one so I was a bit more hesitant than you
123:16know I saw some other people in the fantasy community saying if you redrafted he would be the 103 or the 106
123:23and that was too rich for my blood right ankle is being looked at the last plays of the game as well
123:31maybe so late into the game where they didn't have to save he did go back in okay yeah it was the
123:38same right ankle you don't like to see that but I'm guessing he will be fine you know keep Mike Washington around
123:46Miami Dolphins speaking of Devon Achan is bottom five in success rate right now but Hayden he is playing 80% of snaps
123:53and is the running back 24 so one of those two things have to change because the math doesn't math if a
124:01running back plays 80% of snaps and stays at the Miami Dolphins is are just awful offensively which is a potential here
124:08but I guess I want to set you up by this is is a change based on that volume is he a
124:16potential buy low go read what I per game are down just a little bit but screens per game the exact game
124:23this year versus where it was previously carries per game 15 and a half this year over the last two seasons it
124:31was at 13.4 there's nothing that has changed about his usage whatsoever the types of plays they're doing with Devane Chan it's
124:38a bunch of pitches to the perimeter I thought his cutback decisions have looked good they've just not blocked it up quite
124:46as well and then Malik neighbors has not hit him in stride on a couple of the targets and he has ripped
124:53off his signature 50 yard touchdown yet I think Aaron Brewer hasn't played quite as well that type of stuff has not
125:01gelled but it's the same exact playbook as last year now if Malik Willis is so bad that makes this irrelevant that's
125:09totally possible but I will take the much higher than RB25 rest of the season I think he'll be around RB12 it's
125:16not gonna be the prettiest thing but I New England Patriots are up next we have to hit on a whole bunch
125:24of stuff here maybe first I guess let's start with the running backs you know Mike Frabel punished and I mean punish
125:31Ramondre Stevenson for his early fumble in this game the next drive Trivian Henderson stayed in and came in and even for
125:39a third and one which the very next snap he hit that 39 yarder up the middle after the Ramondre Stevenson fumble
125:46Trivian Henderson out snapped Ramondre 32 to 15 he also had huge pass pro wins including one versus a blitzing linebacker he
125:54was tested multiple times in other scenarios and had some W's so look I was skeptical of how much of a jump
126:01Travion could make from year one to year two even if I'm a optimist he missed week one but in week direction
126:09of showing positives here yeah definitely it's a major win for him the Ramondre fumble has always been a narrative out there
126:16and then Travion hit that right the A gap it was Elijah Vera Tucker which is a new player for him he
126:24was been lighting lighting it up as a blocker at left guard and Jared Wilson now he's getting pass protection but he's
126:31switching to center and he's been moving some guys as well so that's where he hit that one for a big play
126:3916 carries to Ramondre six I think in my rankings it will be Travion ahead of Ramondre in this week the one
126:46issue that won the entire season and Ramondre Stevenson or Travion he just reminds me of Raheem Mostert in a lot of
126:54ways and those type of players are hard to get right on a weekly basis so I don't think I'll have either
127:01one of them as top 24 running backs because I'm just waiting for more answers here also you talk about this passing
127:09game without AJ Brown I felt like Hayden that there were too many dropbacks where everyone was locked up in tight coverage
127:16I'm not in the room it also felt like Romeo Dobbs wasn't necessarily in the right place at the right time and
127:24all those end of the dropbacks for Drake May on top the Patriots isn't going to hit nearly as it did last
127:31year yeah Drake may miss him on that third and nine slant where I thought that Romeo Dobbs had a chance to
127:39old Hunter Henry or Romeo Dobbs in fantasy and I don't think you have to start Ramond or Travion either and I
127:47don't you think you have to start Drake May this is one of those teams where all those guys are somewhat playable
127:54but they do not have a must start player in 11 is it is there the potential for Braylon Allen to keep
128:02him from being an outstanding pick like if the Jets completely exceed expectations somewhat like they're doing early on this season drafted
128:09as the running back 13 or whatever and a range of outcomes could have been as like a top six running back
128:17is that still possible here yeah I mean Braylon Allen got the five yard line carry touchdown this year but that has
128:24been annoying I will say Breeze Hall is touching the ball plenty enough to be a top 12 fantasy yes it's not
128:32about that it's like to your totally least 60 yards in both games to open the season so there's like some consistency
128:39there and I wanted to bring up those 12 targets because you fantasy relevant for me yeah it's kind of like I'm
128:47in love with the stripper going on though like Adonai Mitchell tantalizing but there's some issues still behind the scenes I know
128:54I stand by it the two drops were bad I thought that he had a pretty bad play on the ball down
129:02the field I still think there's very up and down route running against man coverage there but when he gets off coverage
129:09or if he's in the scramble drill or sometimes I'll get him in motion like when he's moving like he could really
129:17move and he had a defensive pass interference called on him on top of that so I think very volatile I of
129:24all the matchups this would be weak to play him and I think Mason Taylor even like one of their tight ends
129:32he's now down with an injury on top of it I just mean that no one is coming for I Mitchell's job
129:39which wasn't the case in Indianapolis they had Alec Pierce there right and so in this regard to me he's a wide
129:47receiver four slash five once we get injuries once we get by weeks I think he can be a fill in wide
129:54receiver three for your team when you need it and it's that simple yep during bye weeks and yeah I a complete
130:02disaster I understand that the nerds have gone deep and that run yards before contact per attempt is not a perfect metric
130:10but Hayden I on top of it but this is one of those situations that the offensive line and the run blocking
130:17needs to learn on the fly and it's very questionable if it's going to gel on the fly yeah cam jurgens had
130:25miscommunication issues changing positions and cam jurgens might be one the second he touches the ball untouched so yeah they're working through
130:32things hopefully the stinger doesn't linger he's had stinger issues previously which makes me a little bit more spooked but the problem
130:40with Tink Bigsby you guys nailed this on the waiver wire column is like he's not playing all the snaps and if
130:47the rushing offense isn't that great and we have the Jalen Hurt stuff like how good is Tink Bigsby even as an
130:55insurance play just because the offense I think they just pass the ball like crazy because this is drop backs versus seven
131:02runs so they kind of did the of that back field I also think the Saquon Barkley pick would have felt a
131:10little bit better in week two if he just played in this game like he left for at least half of it
131:17and more than that and he would have gotten the goal line touchdown that Tank Bigsby had and it would have been
131:25a little deodorant on the extreme frustration that I am feeling about investing so much in the Saquon Barkley I have reached
131:32out to a whole bunch of Eagles reporters over the last couple of days and I've gotten some messages in terms of
131:40they are going to continue to run the football and they are just going to try to fix it moving forward so
131:47this isn't to me going to just abandon the run and it's not working and just lean all the way into Jalen
131:55Hurts passing the football that is not what the identity wants to does he steal snaps from one of these wide receivers
132:02and that's not Devontae Smith and that's not Duntavian Wicks and maybe it's Makai Lemon is going to be ripped out of
132:10who is the 6th offensive lineman because they're 3rd 4th and 5th offensive yeah he's been around but they don't have the
132:17cleanest 3rd 4th and 5th offensive lineman right now so it'll be fascinating to watch they're not going to abandon the runs
132:25it's way too early for that I will say credit where it's due Jalen Hurts in pure passing situations has been lights
132:33out this year and a couple passes not too many but a couple of them over the middle in the ways that
132:40Jalen Hurts historically has not got it done a couple of those to Don Havion Wicks obviously Devontae Smith can be the
132:48focal point there I would also challenge them to use Makai Lemon like a first round wide receiver and Zachariah branch in
132:55the third round let's try to throw in the football field over the middle I promise you he's capable of doing that
133:03but he's unplayable I Don Tavian Wicks versus Adonai Mitchell I'm leaning Don Tavian Wicks in fantasy over Adonai Mitchell I think
133:10they're pretty similar players off the waiver wire but I've enjoyed the Eagles pass game a lot more than I have in
133:18previous seasons Wicks wide receptions 74 yards so that means over 70 in both games and let's remember they face the Chicago
133:25Bears here in week two albeit on the road but in prime time so their wide receivers and their running backs should
133:33have opportunities and hopefully Saquan plays we don't know he's had that means the Pittsburgh Steelers when throwing the football have dropped
133:40fewer points than Cooper Rush and the Atlanta Falcons yeah that's tough to do it's I mean this could could marinate and
133:48then immediate returns are it's just pathetic there was a play early on this game DK Metcalf is going to be working
133:55behind the line the lineman and the center gets beat so badly that slide and then one of the players drops out
134:03into coverage here comes a free rusher Aaron Rodgers could not throw the ball out in time there's been other issues where
134:10Rico Dallas missed blocks and pass protection there's way too many free rushers there's times where Aaron Rodgers getting hit from the
134:18front side at the same time nothing is working they're throwing up prayers to DK Metcalf has been horrific in isolated man
134:25coverage opportunities he's dropping the balls on top of that Jeremy Bernard drops a ball that goes for an interception where Aaron
134:33Rodgers has to make a play I'm not defending Aaron Rodgers at all he has not played well I understand him going
134:40to the media and saying I need to tell Mike McCarthy what's not going to work and Mike McCarthy offense feels disengaged
134:48from modern NFL offenses right now that has me very spooked because he's been a pass first coordinator and they're not doing
134:56any of the modern things in the past game right now defenses just do not time and so we'll just hit him
135:03or sack him or he'll dump it off for a loss and that's it and now they face the much improved Cincinnati
135:11Bengals defense I mean the Steelers are only projected for 19 and a half points in really good he's also wide receiver
135:1858 in points per game on the season right now so sure maybe he's higher in the models but so often we
135:26when Doudle was not out there and he's got a toe injury and we don't know the extent of it Warren was
135:33out there for 50 of 52 snaps there was a slight differences there but yeah this is an offense I just don't
135:41see the light at the end of the tunnel all right let's talk about the San Francisco 49ers they are up next
135:48I mean there's not much to say we've already talked about the running back room quite a bit on the recap show
135:56and the high ankle sprain we still know that Christian Kirk is on injured reserve so this is a huge boost for
136:03Debo Samuel and this is a huge boost for George Kittle who had an awesome week too and here we are once
136:11again with Brock Purdy playing like an elite level with Chris McCaffrey looking spryer this offensive line looking quite good and the
136:18targets are quite consolidated to Mike Evans to Debo and George Kittle it's all back Brock pretty looks phenomenal I mean I
136:26totally get it the Dolphins there was tons of coverage bust they have no good players I totally get it Brock Purdy
136:33did not miss that entire game on throws past the line of scrimmage he has a 90% catchable ball rate this year
136:4190% that's unreal stuff all these guys are going to get home George Kittle was moving a little bit better this last
136:48week a couple screens more backfield usage more carries more quick outs off of play action a couple intermediate passes the same
136:56exact usage as it was the week prior they're projected for 28 points I think Devo Samuel is a starter in fantasy
137:03and obviously Mike Evans and the rest of those guys are as well but I do think I I'm treating Devo Samuel
137:11as a serious fantasy player 22% target share in this offense yeah and Jordan Watkins and that's it like CMC is going
137:19to catch a bunch of passes I wouldn't be surprised if we see some like pony personnel stuff with Kaylin Black out
137:26there too and you know while CMC is playing fewer snaps and Kaylin Black is you legitimately playing some stuff this is
137:34so consolidated and if they're going to be projected for 28 points per week everyone's getting home everyone should be in your
137:41starting lineup it's that simple yeah pretty has been excellent yes I agree Seattle Seahawks let's talk about them so Jadarian Price
137:49did not start this one or excuse me he did start this one he also got an inside the 20 yard carry
137:56inside the 10 yard carry so I wanted to note that because then there's a lot of weirdness that happened in this
138:04game all right Emmanuel Wilson also then got stuffed three times inside the five yard line on three straight carries Jadarian Price
138:11got a carry inside the five yard line also got an end zone target on a double move and up at wide
138:19receiver however when Jadarian Price leaves with like a chest shoulder injury pops back in for one snap with two minutes left
138:26in the third quarter and beyond in the entire fourth quarter Emmanuel Wilson gets 14 touches 14 carries and looks very good
138:34in them very good so I have no idea what to do with Jadarian Price also looking good on a few runs
138:41that he bounced early on but this doesn't lead me to him being 100% healthy and then adding more and more onto
138:49his plate in week three yeah the usage is very Kenneth Walker esque from last year except we don't know if he's
138:56actually Kenneth Walker as a player the fumble was definitely concerning did not lose all the snaps early on but this was
139:04not like a fourth quarter chest injury issue like Emmanuel Wilson was getting more carries in the first half of this ball
139:11game than he was in week one so I do think that is concerning and George Holani he doesn't touch the ball
139:19but he's out there in every obvious passing situation and I don't think that that's going to change until Zach Sharbody comes
139:26back and he'll just be Zach Sharbody instead of Holani so AJ Barner on a tush push so I'm not convinced that
139:34Jadarian Price is going to get enough goal line carries to really matter here so I think he's a flex play he's
139:42an ever played and he had some I just again want to say some positive moments in this game too but we
139:49didn't get that he exited with a shoulder and then Emmanuel Wilson just grinded out 6 7 12 yard gains and that's
139:57what we have here so yeah if this team just continues to live in a split backfield they are favorites in this
140:04game by 6 and a half on the road against the commander so we'll see what happens anything you want to add
140:12here on true lock JSN it sounds like Sam Darrell might be practicing this week I 30 points per game through two
140:19weeks 30 my 30 my I guess my film note is there's a lot of plays where he's lined up against safeties
140:27and I think that's a promising sign for Brian Fleury the new offensive coordinator there like it's he's not oh where do
140:34we want to go from here I mean with Tampa Bay the two things that we all talked about this summer with
140:42them is one they're bringing back all five offensive linemen and two that they had a huge investment in the pass rush
140:49I'll that's the first part offensive line and Baker is impacting the passing game however Bucky is extremely relevant he's running back
140:5715 in points per game 11 points at so may feel like dropping his eyes way too quickly there is a lot
141:04more interior pressure than I would have guessed and he wants to scramble around like there's not enough times where he's stepping
141:12into the pocket and even an exaggeration he had one ball right on the money but there was a lot of like
141:19ted hearse prairie arts in this offense and like that's concerning yes um and even more concerning we'll obviously get to this
141:27later in the week you got the vikings if you're feeling heated up pressure wise and for the first two weeks and
141:34then you have to go deal with what brian floor is and like what dallas turner is doing individually jaylen redmond individually
141:42like i i don't think that this is going to be the week that they're going to sort this thing out yep
141:49totally agree with all that tennessee titans in our last talking point of the day cam ward has the second lowest adot
141:57in the nfl at 5.1 yards only cooper rush is lower so what we loved about cam ward in college was that
142:05at his best buy some time throw darts down the field uh and i think that after week one this team kind
142:12of realized in week two let's not you know put this on him let's lean into the running game as much as
142:20possible and unfortunately that kind of came into fruition that once again when they got into the red zone there was like
142:27this double action in the backfield and he had carnell tate on a crossing route open a step on his man and
142:35he threw it behind him that he could barely get a hand on the football it should have been a touchdown for
142:42the rookie and yet cam ward couldn't complete it and i thought that was one of the best games he's played um
142:50and there are still some some negatives there wasn't like the critical error like obviously miss miss throws is a misthrow but
142:57there wasn't anything like too like like backwards with with the cam ward stuff uh but still like there's not enough explosives
143:05here um shilka patty had an interesting stat uh first two weeks the titans just can't figure out kickoffs they've kicked touchbacks
143:1250 57 of the time the league average is 16 he just says they're giving away field position yeah and on that
143:20the the game winning drive uh the eagles started at their own 35 immediately scored a touchdown with nine seconds left so
143:27like does this matter for fantasy like it directly doesn't but when you have like obvious signs like this like this is
143:35not the only thing that they're doing incorrectly like if this is happening to the point where it's so obvious for podcasters
143:42to figure things out right then there's little details that are way above above us that they're also getting wrong so like
143:50that's just uh just like fundamentally wrong for for tennessee yeah these kickoff rules are not new for anyone right so after
143:57what two plus years of doing this uh teams should realize hey kicking it to about the three yard line or the
144:05seven yard line and it bouncing in front of these players and going the end zone is much better or forcing them
144:12to return it and it's unlikely to get to the 35 is much better than just kicking it out of the end
144:20zone or kicking it deep into the end zone and just giving them the 35 versus the 23 or the 27 again
144:28you're just handing over yards and that's just top down that's robert sala who then has hired brian dayball and this is
144:35just kind of what the operation is at this moment so we'll see if like the titans can get it going but
144:43again uh they are only portrayed for 18 and a half points against the new york giants this week not a single
144:50player i would start some are calling it the dayball what do you think about that i agree the dayball i agree
