Antonio Williams

NegativeRole71:02

Williams is struggling to find a role in a crowded Commanders receiving corps that includes Terry McLaurin, Stefan Diggs, and Traylon Burks. The source notes a lack of suddenness in his game.

Insight page

Caleb Douglas

NegativeUsage39:46

Caleb Douglas is expected to be a starter in two-wide receiver sets in Week 1. He is viewed as an intermediate downfield threat, though he shows high variance in his play, including occasional lapses in spatial awareness on the sidelines. Projections sit at 60 targets, 40 receptions, 480 yards, and three touchdowns.

Insight page

Carnell Tate

PositiveProjection13:20

Carnell Tate is currently viewed as a WR32-level asset with limited immediate upside due to the Tennessee Titans' offensive environment and his own development needs. The source notes he is not a shifty slot player and will likely lose underneath work to Wan'Dale Robinson. While he may provide value in the second half of the season, he is not expected to be a league-winning breakout player.

Insight page

Carson Beck

NegativeBust70:03

The source was unimpressed with Beck's film, comparing him to a broken-down version of Carson Wentz who struggles with accuracy and movement.

Insight page

Chris Bell

PositiveBreakout41:57

Chris Bell is a more explosive and preferred redraft target over Caleb Douglas. Despite an ACL injury, he returned ahead of schedule. He is a compact, powerful receiver with comps to Deebo Samuel and DJ Moore. While he may start as a part-time player, his role could expand significantly after the Week 6 bye, especially given the Dolphins' lack of depth.

Insight page

Denzel Boston

PositiveBreakout53:45

Denzel Boston is a reliable X-receiver prospect who is expected to see significant playing time, potentially out-snapping Ted Hurst 4-to-1. He is projected for 48 catches and 584 yards, with potential for more if Jerry Judy is traded. He is a strong redraft target among the late-round wide receivers.

Insight page

Eli Stowers

NegativeBust66:06

Stowers faces a difficult path to playing time due to poor blocking skills and lack of preseason production, with the source suggesting a redshirt year is likely.

Insight page

Fernando Mendoza

PositiveProjection58:31

Mendoza is a viable superflex option who could start as early as week two. Despite being a pocket passer, he offers enough rushing upside to potentially finish as a QB25, and the source believes the organization will be functional enough to support his development.

Insight page

J.K. Dobbins

NegativeInjury47:36

J.K. Dobbins has a history of missing time, and while he is the starter, the team's usage of RJ Harvey and Jonah Coleman suggests a committee approach. Even when healthy, Sean Payton's running backs have historically not reached 250 carries, capping Dobbins' ceiling.

Insight page

Jadarian Price

PositiveRole7:58

Jadarian Price is expected to serve as the Seahawks' lead back while Zach Charbonnet recovers from a significant injury. The source notes that Price will likely handle early-down and goal-line work, potentially offering more fantasy value than Kenneth Walker did last year. While he is not a traditional elite prospect, his role in a better offense makes him a strong late-round target, with teammates and coaches praising his potential as a pass-catching weapon.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

PositiveProjection4:14

Jeremiah Love is a high-upside target despite a 50/50 status for Week 1 due to a high ankle sprain. The source compares his prospect profile to Bijan Robinson and projects him to be a top-12 fantasy running back from October 1st onward. His usage is expected to mirror Breece Hall's rookie season under Mike LaFleur, where he eventually secured the lead role. Projections suggest 1,300 total yards and nearly nine touchdowns, with significant value in the passing game via angle routes.

Insight page

Jonah Coleman

NegativeRole46:30

Jonah Coleman is a direct backup to J.K. Dobbins in Denver, offering similar pass-protection and short-yardage skills. While he could provide RB25-level value if Dobbins misses time, the presence of RJ Harvey in the backfield rotation limits his standalone upside. He is viewed more as a real-life asset than a fantasy starter.

Insight page

Jordyn Tyson

NegativeInjury18:38

Jordan Tyson is currently on injured reserve and expected to miss at least six games due to a recurring hamstring issue. The source suggests he will not be a viable fantasy option until at least Week 9, and even then, he will likely require a ramp-up period before seeing significant usage.

Insight page
NegativeUsage19:01

The source expects a slow ramp-up for Jordan Tyson, likely targeting a Week 9 return against the Browns due to injury recovery and a difficult schedule including a Week 6 game on MetLife turf and a Week 7 trip to France. While he is a risky pick in the 120s, he offers unique upside compared to peers in that range. If an IR spot is available, he is a recommended bench stash in rounds 8-9.

Insight page
NegativeProjection20:55

The source notes that Jordan Tyson was previously viewed as a 'layup' for success, but expresses skepticism regarding his ability to work over the middle and his speed after the catch. The source views him as more boom-bust than the consensus, comparing his role to Deontay Johnson but noting he lacks the same polish.

Insight page

Juwan Johnson

PositiveValue21:44

Jawan Johnson is recommended as a late-round tight end target to fill in for the Saints' offense while Jordan Tyson is sidelined during the first seven weeks of the season.

Insight page

Kenyon Sadiq

NegativeRole61:16

Sadiq is currently behind Mason Taylor on the depth chart and is dealing with a re-aggravated injury, making his path to fantasy relevance more challenging than Omar Cooper's.

Insight page

Makai Lemon

PositiveSleeper25:23

Makai Lemon is a recommended bench stash who is expected to eventually earn a 70-80% snap share. While he may start in three-wide sets, the source believes he will move into two-wide sets as the season progresses. He is a strong zone-coverage receiver with zero drops and high efficiency, making him an ideal WR4/5 target who could bloom in the second half of the season.

Insight page

Malachi Fields

PositiveRole73:30

Fields is expected to see part-time work in two-WR sets for the Giants. While he may not be a full-time player, he offers a different profile than the team's other receivers and has shown positive tracking data.

Insight page

Mike Washington Jr.

PositiveUsage33:38

Mike Washington Jr. is a high-upside handcuff who is expected to earn a significant role in the Raiders' offense, potentially splitting work 65/35 with Ashton Jeanty. Head coach Clint Kubiak has praised his scheme fit and progression. Washington is a massive, explosive athlete (4.33 speed) who has looked dominant in the preseason and is a priority target in the 13th round.

Insight page
PositiveValue38:12

Mike Washington was a high-value fourth-round pick for the Raiders; he possesses 4.33 speed and a 40-inch vertical. While he is currently an insurance play behind Ashton Gentry, he is a better theoretical fit for the Kubiak offense. If he were in a different backfield, he would be a priority target, but his fantasy value is capped as long as Gentry is healthy.

Insight page

Omar Cooper Jr.

PositiveBreakout61:16

The source prefers Cooper over Kenyon Sadiq, noting that Cooper could see significant playing time in the slot if Adonai Mitchell struggles or if the team utilizes 11 personnel heavily, which Frank Reich historically favors.

Insight page

Oscar Delp

PositiveSleeper67:28

Delp is identified as the most fantasy-relevant among the backup tight end group, specifically as a potential replacement for Juwan Johnson due to his YAC ability.

Insight page

Ted Hurst

NegativeDepth Chart50:29

Ted Hurst is a developmental prospect who has shown steady progress in camp. With Jalen McMillan missing time and Chris Godwin's status uncertain, Hurst could see snaps as a designated X-receiver. However, he remains a boom-bust vertical threat with significant route-running development still needed.

Insight page

Zach Charbonnet

NegativeInjury8:18

Zach Charbonnet is expected to miss at least the first four weeks of the season following February ACL surgery. The source anticipates a long ramp-up period, likely keeping him out of a significant role until at least Week 11 or 12, making him a risky asset to rely on for early-season production.

Insight page

Zachariah Branch

NegativeSleeper56:22

Zachariah Branch is an intriguing late-round flyer due to his elite athleticism, though he faces a steep learning curve regarding route running and separation. He must beat out Alameda Zaccheaus for the slot role, which is a difficult task. He is currently viewed as a long-term project rather than an immediate fantasy contributor.

Insight page
PositiveSleeper57:32

The source views Branch as an intriguing late-round target due to his rare start-stop ability and athleticism, noting that his profile would have been drafted much higher in previous years.

0:00Today is only about Rookies because whenever we look back at the end of the season, the championship winning teams, they got tremendous value on first year players.
0:08We're going to talk about 32 of them. Yes, what to expect week one early in the season and then late season
0:14expectations because we are here to help you find the gems, the first year players that will maybe not start your lineup,
0:20but then carry it later in this fantasy football season.
0:23And tune in and stay tuned to this episode of Yahoo Fantasy Football with Josh and Hayden.
0:28We love to point out how rookies shape fantasy football at the end of each season.
0:33So today we talk about every single rookie. Yeah, I have 32 names of rookies heading into their first season.
0:38We're going to talk about where they stand currently on the depth chart, maybe some projected stats for every single one.
0:44And Hayden, maybe most importantly, when we think they're actually going to take off in their lineups this season.
0:50And sometimes those players don't ever take off. I think we'll have to have some of those takes as well.
0:55Yeah, 32. This is going to be a test of I can remember the 32nd player and what team he's even on.
1:01That's a pretty deep list. So I was looking at, again, all rookies when researching for the show.
1:07And it really stood out to me that only 11 rookies are consistently being drafted inside of the top 15 rounds on
1:13Yahoo right now, including just four, four before the start of the 10th round.
1:17This is just anecdotal Hayden, but that has to be a record low number.
1:21Well, we knew this like going in, just talking about these guys as draft prospects, like this was not going to be a great class.
1:28I will say this. I think that in redraft is like the best time to get some rookies late on because like
1:34they're not in your starting lineup where like best well theoretically they can be like we're not banking on rookies until later on.
1:41And because the ADPs are suppressed, there are going to be some rookies this year that kind of pop up.
1:46And I think that the wide receiver class that was almost underrated.
1:50And like that's kind of the tier of player that we're gonna talk about today.
1:54It definitely is. Now, again, we'll talk about where each of these names are being selected on Yahoo right now, but you
2:00know, Makai Lim would go ahead of the 10th round if he didn't miss all training camp.
2:05You know, Casey Concepcion would probably be going ahead of the 11th round if he wasn't on the Cleveland Browns.
2:11We also had, you know, some of your favorite day three running backs or day two running backs that landed behind obvious
2:17starters and not kind of ambiguous backfields. And Mike Washington and Jonah Coleman and those guys, you know, could have been top 10 round picks.
2:24If they were on like the Tennessee Titans, for example.
2:27Yeah. And maybe the Yahoo ADPs are just wrong and that these guys should be priced way up.
2:32And I have a couple of those takes here.
2:34A hundred percent. Again, if you tuned into our ultimate and final running back in wide receiver rankings, you know, you have
2:41some of our favorites at rookie spots in both.
2:43And some of those are the best value, not just on Yahoo, but in whatever platform that you use.
2:49So go and watch those videos. After this one, we're going to condense it down into one episode.
2:54I'm going to go in ADP order here. And our first rookie actually isn't off the board until the fourth pick of the third round running back 14.
3:02That's Jeremiah Love of the Arizona Cardinals. The latest from NFL Network's Mike Garofalo.
3:06He reports that Jeremiah Love is quote about 50, 50 to play in week one against the Chargers.
3:11Hayden, we know 14 touches in his first preseason action suffered a high ankle sprain at the end of that second quarter.
3:17So what are your expectations for week one? And then what are your expectations beyond for Jeremiah Love?
3:22Yeah. Let's say misses zero to two games. I think that's about right.
3:26I think that the rest of September, there's going to be a ramp up period with him and Tyler Algier.
3:31Keep in mind, Trey Benson was waived. James Connors on injured reserve.
3:35He has not practiced. It's just going to be Algier.
3:38It's going to be Jeremiah Love. We know how this one ends.
3:41Jeremiah Love, I thought as a prospect was even better than Ashton Jeanty.
3:45Like I would put him in the, not that far away from like the B.
3:49John Robinson type of prospect. Uh, it's going to take some overcoming the interior offensive line.
3:53They're missing a second round, uh, guard in Arizona.
3:56The tackle play can be very hit and miss.
3:58So it's not the ideal landing spot. All that said, typically a top three overall pick at running back does not go
4:05in the third and sometimes fourth rounds in fantasy drafts.
4:08So I think that we've like fully baked in the Cardinals part of the, of the equation, the early part of the season equation.
4:14And I would be pretty surprised by, you know, October 1st on if Jeremiah Love is not a top 12.
4:20Fantasy running back. And he's somebody I'm heavily targeting in the top 30, but sometimes you can get him like 32nd, 33rd overall.
4:27I think that's absolutely stealing. So I keep going back to Michael Thor, who's the head coach of this team calling plays
4:33for Brees Hall during his rookie season, who only played seven games during that rookie year.
4:37It was a condensed year because of injury. But even with a slow start of 12, eight and 14 touches in the
4:43opening three games in that seven game span, Brees Hall was the running back seven in points per game, because even with
4:50a slow ramp up period, when Brees was splitting time with Michael Carter, Mike LaFour realized that the hot hand approach would
4:56then go to Brees Hall because he's the best player of the group.
5:00So there was that roar shark test that we got early in the off season where LaFour was saying, well, the hot hand is going to get it.
5:08To me, that is very much a positivity for Jeremiah Love.
5:11And we saw that during, you know, his first preseason action.
5:14Again, I have some concerns about the environment. I would love if Chase Basantes was in here, as you said, he was
5:20looking awesome in the preseason, but it's such a win.
5:23If the Cardinals who are projected for the 32nd, you know, best or worst offense in the NFL instead are like the 22nd or 24th.
5:30Like if they can escape that bottom three scoring point, then again, that would be massive for not just Jeremiah Love, but all skill players on that team.
5:38Yeah, we just saw with the Raiders situation, uh, Gentie was like the RB 16, uh, on points per game base.
5:44That was like one of the worst offenses I've ever seen.
5:47So hopefully the Cardinals can at least clear that threshold.
5:50And that's where we're kind of drafting Jeremiah Love to be a slightly better than the Ash and Gentie season from a year ago.
5:57Um, and we're talking about a 99th percentile prospect, according to my model, everybody's model would agree with that.
6:02So, uh, he's somebody that I'm buying the dip on and I feel very good about that.
6:07I think he's going to ride the hot hand.
6:09It's going to be Jeremiah Love, not Tyler Algier.
6:12Again, I'm just looking at that Brees rookie season.
6:14That first finish was running back 40. Then he went running back 12, 19, 16, 4, 7, and 21.
6:20We just did a live draft with, you know, 10 other experts over on Yahoo.
6:24And you took Jeremiah Love as what you're running back to or running back one.
6:28Which one was it running back to? Yep. Yep.
6:31It went Devon H in the second round and then, um, Jeremiah Love in the third, late third, which I think is awesome.
6:37Yes. Uh, I don't know if you brought this up already, but Yahoo has projections from a whole bunch of different sites that they compile into one.
6:45205 rushing attempts, 868 yards, six rushing scores. And then on top of that, 52 receptions, 457 receiving yards, and then almost two and a half touchdowns.
6:53So Hayden, if I can do some quick math that would put him, uh, at 1300 yards and almost nine total touchdowns here.
6:59Yeah. The reception stand out there. It's the six most receptions at running back position.
7:03It's the fourth most receiving yards, uh, at the position.
7:06Like I think that can make sense of this team's trailing in fourth quarters.
7:10Like you're not going to have Tyler Algier out there.
7:13He's going to catch a bunch of passes. Like a, a very light version of like the Bichon seasons from the last
7:19couple of seasons is what I'm projecting for Jeremiah Love.
7:22Like that's a pretty good value. Final note on this that showed out in only the two quarters that he played in the preseason on angle routes.
7:30Like so often these running back receptions actually have a negative eight dots attached to them because they're just swing passes at the end of a progression.
7:37If you're getting angle routes and these were almost designed downfield receptions because they were getting three vertical routes, pushing off coverage
7:44and leaving Jeremiah Love versus that, you know, a fill safety or a linebacker.
7:48And then again, it's catching that four yards or six yards on the field versus two yards in the backfield.
7:53Like that's just fantastic stuff. We want to see that all the time from our backs.
7:58Okay. Jadarian Price, the next rookie, although down the sixth round, the second pick of the sixth round running back 25 ESPN's
8:04Brady Henderson, who nailed this backfield last year. I believe that the Seahawks will quote roll with Jadarian Price as their lead
8:10back while mixing in a heavy dose of George Harlani.
8:13And then whatever plan has Seattle going into week one will start to change once Zach Charbonnet returns.
8:18We know Charbonnet is going to miss at least the opening four weeks of the season.
8:23And my eyes go to the Seahawks schedule, especially weeks two and weeks three, I believe against the Cardinals and the commanders
8:29as potential like blow up spots here for Jadarian Price.
8:32Yeah, I think it's going to be a long ramp up period for Zach Charbonnet.
8:36His ACL surgery did not happen until February 20th.
8:39You do exactly nine months from that. That's week 11, week 12.
8:42He in theory can beat that timeline, but I think that would be just to like get him involved in the lineup.
8:48And I think it's just to be him and Holani for the most part.
8:52Jadarian Price is going to be the early down guy.
8:55And then Holani is going to play in there for pass protection.
8:58But unlike what Kenneth Walker was dealing with, where Charbonnet was the goal line back, in addition to playing passing situations, I
9:05just think that Jadarian Price is going to have the goal line role.
9:08So I think versus last year, it's a better situation for Jadarian Price than it was for Kenneth Walker.
9:14I've been warming up to him. There's kind of like a, it's not my favorite running backs in like kind of the fifth, sixth round range.
9:21I do think that Jadarian Price would be at over the very top of that list.
9:26I thought he was a fine prospect. He, he had some nice advanced metrics to know when a lot of areas too.
9:32Yeah. It's like one of those where he didn't have to pass protect.
9:35He didn't have to catch passes. I'm not saying that he can't do either, but like, I can't say for sure that he's good at it.
9:43I thought that he ran with a decent burst and like, I think good pacing, good vision, all that type of stuff.
9:49And then at the same time, I was also surprised that he was only 203 pounds at the combine.
9:54And it's not like some like super explosive, like testing back.
9:58So he's like somebody where you watch them, you're like, I totally get it.
10:02But I would not say that this is your typical first round draft pick profile.
10:06Like to me, Kenneth Walker coming out, Bruce Hall coming out.
10:09They went later in the draft. Those guys were better prospects than Jadarian Price.
10:13But this is a mystery box player. Maybe he is Bijan Robinson.
10:16He just happened to be next to that, which Jeremiah loves.
10:19A lot to hit on there. You mentioned week 11 as like exactly the timeline for Zach Charbonnet based on what typical
10:26is of his injury that he's coming back from, which is significant.
10:29They actually have a week 11 by now. That's one facet of this.
10:33The other facet is all summer long, you know, observers of the Seahawks have been incredibly optimistic about Zach Charbonnet returning.
10:39There were some mentions of week one. We know that that now is false.
10:43So I have no idea where to land on any of this stuff.
10:46However, I am willing and not to be negative here to bet against a quick recovery, getting him back to exactly the
10:53form that he was on to the point that the coaching staff that wants to win games wants to give him 65% of the red zone carries.
11:00And that led to what 11 touchdowns that he got last year instead of can walk to the third.
11:06So I'm just kind of betting against a player that is coming back from major injury and giving more towards Jerry and
11:12price who his teammates can't stop talking about it.
11:14Like Jackson Smith and Jigba quote, we rely on the run game a lot.
11:18So he, Jerry and price is going to be incredible.
11:21I'm looking forward to it. He's going to be a big piece of this offense, especially early.
11:26Sam Darwin has talked about him in every single, you know, preseason game on the sideline talking about his pass catching too.
11:32Which to me is a huge part of this Hayden.
11:35Yep. He only had like 15 or 19 receptions in college.
11:38And yet every time we turn on hard knocks, every interview you hear from John Schneider or Sam Darwin or whoever is,
11:44he's going to be such a weapon for us in the passing game too.
11:48And then that's the underlying buzz of them getting more pass catchers into routes, including the running backs because they were near dead last on the list.
11:56So he's one of my 14 players I'm betting my season on and I'm excited to see what your Darren prices this year.
12:02Yeah, I think somewhere late in round five, I think that's a perfectly reasonable spot.
12:07That's where he's going on. Yachty was 62nd overall right now.
12:10I got him ranked or our combined rankings is 56 overall.
12:13Actually, both of us rank him exactly there in half PPR.
12:16So I think totally fine player. I'm not sure if he's going to be an absolute home run pick, but he at
12:22least has the chance to do it. He does have a chance to do it.
12:27He's being drafted behind players who also have kind of a similar outcome here of a split backfield or a chance to win out.
12:33And he's been at the end of that list for the entire offseason.
12:37And so he's on a better team than a lot of those guys too.
12:41Just quickly, the Yahoo projections on him for the season.
12:44214 attempts, 914 rushing yards and 7.6 touchdowns. And the reception totals are quite low here.
12:4824 receptions, 222 yards and a half a touchdown.
12:51So again, while Helani will probably fill in in terms of true passing down work early on.
12:56Again, I continue to say that I think like the true third down passing situation role is like the least valuable one when we talk about halfway PPR.
13:04Yep, I agree with that. I think it's probably going to be closer to like 30, 35 receptions, which is already projecting
13:10for a lot more than he caught in college.
13:12But I do think is like reasonable. If your first round running back can't catch the football, then like maybe he shouldn't have been a first round pick.
13:20Third rookie, Cardinal Tate. He's the fifth pick of the seventh round right now going as wide receiver 32.
13:26Unfortunately, he did not practice on Tuesday. He's working through quote some stiffness.
13:29He did not catch a single pass during preseason activities.
13:32I guess my easy question to you is how confident are you that he finishes above Marvin Harrison's junior wide receiver 40 points per game during his season?
13:40That sounds about right. I liked Cardinal Tate. I would say I even like loved him.
13:45He was comped like DeAndre Hopkins, Calvin Ridley, Jeremy Macklin.
13:48The hard part about this situation is as a rookie.
13:50First of all, he's only just barely above 21 years old.
13:53He's an early declare. Like there is some like development that's needed in his game.
13:58And he's not used in the manufactured touch department.
14:00Even looking at my notes pre draft, I didn't know the role.
14:04Uh, I said there's some underneath work, but he's not a tackle breaker breaker or particularly shifty and tight spaces.
14:09His consistent hands allow him to catch the ball in stride on crossing routes.
14:13Possibly gets a tad faster, but he's not a lightning quick player.
14:17And then even in the preseason, you did see on that crossing route where he didn't create that much separation.
14:22Now, uh, I think if he does fail this price tag, I think it's largely going to be based off the Tennessee Titans offense.
14:29And unfortunately, I think that's just kind of where this one's going to me, where Cam Ward has a lot to prove.
14:35Brian Dave has a lot to prove the offensive line has a lot to prove.
14:40And then it seems like Wanda Robinson's going to get like all the RPO bubble screens and little quick hitting stuff.
14:46So we'll see. I think that he's better in half PPR, um, among the wide receivers.
14:50I don't think he's going to catch that many passes this season.
14:54Yeah, I think you nailed all of that in a composed, good proven offense.
14:57I would be drafting Colonel Tate so much higher than this.
15:01And yet it just has been a month of sourness whenever you read or hear or even watch the preseason work from the Tennessee Titans.
15:08And that's a bummer. You know, it kind of feels like it.
15:11And the season is very long, but the first half of the season could be like a PPR scam season for Wanda Robinson.
15:18And with Colonel Tate and where he's lining up as a true outside player, that's just, you know, further to get the football.
15:24Yep. It really is that simple. Um, they have a week nine by maybe good things can happen in the week nine
15:30by and we get to week 10 through week 17 for your fancy season.
15:34And that's really where he pays off. But I truly believe that wide receiver 32 is just about right for him, especially
15:41when like you consider some of the other wide receivers going around him are the Marvin Harrison Jr.
15:46Brian Thomas Jr. But like, again, two names before that for us is Parker Washington.
15:50And there's just no chance of him ever eclipsing that for me and my rankings.
15:54He's in that like after the huge tear break and like, you know, it's like Devante Adams, Mike Evans, those types.
16:00And then you kind of get into this like completely.
16:03I wouldn't even say the tear break is Parker Washington.
16:06And then if you want to say Marv and Brian Thomas Jr.
16:09And then after that, it's DK Metcalf and Carnell Tate and Alec Pierce and Chris Godwin and Jordan Tyson.
16:15Like it either finds himself in that Marvin BTJ group or it's the one after.
16:19And the one after is when, trust me, that's where I got to in my, uh, expert league.
16:24It's not where you want to be with your wide receiver two and wide receiver three.
16:28No. Yeah. I got Mike Evans in like the sixth round.
16:32Like I didn't feel comfortable with that, but like after him, it was getting worse than that.
16:36A couple, a couple of comps real quick, uh, rookie seasons.
16:39Tedro McMillan was the wide receiver 24 per game.
16:42Uh, I liked Tedro a little bit more into the offensive environment over there was a little bit better than this one.
16:48A lobby was a wide receiver 24 Garrett Wilson was a wide receiver 30 Drake London, which is, I think this is pretty close wide receiver 41.
16:56That's pretty close with the Marvin Harrison season that we had.
16:59And then Roma Doomsday was the wide receiver 61.
17:02So like those are like similar players in terms of just like skill sets and draft capital.
17:06And those weren't like the best teams either. Um, so wide receiver thirties is probably about average.
17:11I just don't think this is going to be like, Oh, you were fading Carnell Tate and now he's finished as like the wide receiver 12 this year.
17:19Like I just don't see that happen. The Titans would have to shock everyone for that to happen.
17:24They would have to be bad in the off season and then great once a regular season hits.
17:29Uh, I will add his projections right now on Yahoo 116 targets nearly like a 50% catch rate at 63 receptions, 791 yards and 4.7 touchdowns.
17:37It's interesting. You brought up T Mac because his rookie season last year was nearly the same at 122 targets, 70 receptions.
17:43Yep. But that went for over 1000 yards and seven touchdowns.
17:46So they're basically having Carnell Tate's yards per target.
17:49No, sorry. Yards per reception at 12 and a half.
17:51And Taylor Williams was 14 and a half, which, you know, I think if Tate's going to catch passes, they're going to be down the field.
17:59I, when I thought the reception number was right, I would put them a little bit higher on higher yards, but like five touchdowns.
18:06Like if he scores more than five touchdowns this year, I would say that's a win.
18:10I think those projections felt about right, which is, you know, you're not getting your money in grade at wider C for 32 and stuff.
18:17Like to me, I would rather just give me fricking Jalen hurts.
18:21And then I'll find the next wider C even by the way, the next couple of rookies, uh, I have even ranked ahead of Carnell Tate.
18:28Okay. I think I misspoken. He's a week nine by maybe I said that correctly.
18:32Next is Jordan Tyson, a full round later. Plus the 12th pick of the eighth round wide receiver 37.
18:38Again, if he didn't suffer the hamstring injury that was reported as not linked to all the other hamstrings that he has
18:44injured in the past, uh, he would be going earlier than this.
18:47Again, that's wider C for 37 right now. He's on injured reserve.
18:51He's out at least four games. You and I are expecting at least six.
18:55Um, we have seen that his draft process and the first part of his off season was slow played coming back from a hamstring.
19:01So I highly doubt that as soon as he's ready to gear up for a game, they give him 80 plus percent of the work.
19:08So what do you expect? Yeah. Also week six, they play on MetLife turf, which I would not throw him out there personally.
19:15And then they go to France for week seven, week eight by.
19:18So I think the most likely scenario would be week nine.
19:21Maybe he gets out there and they ramp them up during that stretch there.
19:25But I would say week nines, the targets at home against the Browns.
19:29So, uh, you're going to have to deal with that.
19:32Uh, if you have an IR spot, it makes it a little bit easier, um, to stomach.
19:37Like he does not get drafted typically like as high as this, this ADP, like whenever I'm in drafts, it's like closer to like one twenties.
19:44And I think that's actually a good spot for him because a lot of the receivers around that range just do not have the upside that he has.
19:52I think that he would have been comfortably ahead of Cardinal Tate.
19:55If not for the injuries. Now, I think that there's reasons why he's had these injuries, uh, for a long time.
20:01I think it's gonna take a while for him to, to get over them.
20:05So I think a very risky pick, if you go to like the one twenties and stuff and like, you're looking at
20:12guys that just have like no chance of upside, uh, then I would still go with, with Jordan Tyson.
20:17Nick Underhill does fantastic work. Um, he's one of the beat writers that you should trust his eyes in a lot of ways.
20:23And he just kept speaking glowingly about Jordan Tyson, every single practice.
20:27One was quote, it would be hard to overstate how good Tyson was in camp.
20:31Uh, so we'll see, I think this is a good bench dash.
20:35If you have an IR spot on your team that you can get him in round eight and, or even round nine,
20:41if he slips to you and just see what happens.
20:44But, uh, it's almost one of these Hayden that we just get to revisit this entire conversation, uh, in week eight and,
20:50and, you know, reassess where we're at once the saints have, you know, seven games from their ball.
20:55My, my final note on Jordan Tyson was just a pre draft note is everyone like, except me kind of like loved Jordan Tyson.
21:02I kind of more liked him. And I think that like, there's still some development that's needed in his game.
21:07Like he was pretty unproven, like working over the middle.
21:10I didn't think that he was that fast when he was like opening up and like working down the football field after the catch too.
21:17Yeah. Rough after the catch. So like Stevie Johnson was somebody that won the line of scrimmage and like was really fancy
21:24at this, uh, Deontay Johnson was someone similar. Like I think athletically and kind of the same role.
21:29Um, so like other people thought he was like a layup line to be like an approble type of receiver.
21:34I was always kind of under the impression that like he could reach that, but he easily could not.
21:40I thought he was a little bit more boom bust than other people thought.
21:44Yeah. And again, Jawan Johnson is a perfect, not even late round tight end anymore, but a tight end pick, uh, later
21:50in your drafts to fill in for the Jordan Tyson week one through seven.
21:54Next is the Sean stripling, my guy and only my guy.
21:57Uh, the first pick of the 10th round wide receiver 43 right now.
22:01Again, I have him much closer to the wide receiver 35 overall.
22:04The athletics Matt Barrows believes that stripling is quote going to have a major role in week one against the Rams.
22:10Um, Hayden, I view him as a flex immediately with wide receiver three in his view.
22:14If he plays, you know, the majority of two wide receiver sets starting in week one, if we see that in week
22:21one and week two and all that type of stuff, then I feel comfortable in my starting lineups.
22:26Yep. Mike Evans has been dealing with every piece of injury that you can possibly dream up.
22:31Did return to practice today. Did yes. For now, he comes back for a practice and misses the next ones.
22:36So stripling has so many outs here. If George Kittle has a setback, it sounds like Kittle is going to try to play in week one.
22:44Now, Mike Evans, any of these guys get setbacks and he's going to be into the lineup here.
22:49I think that he should overtake Debo Samuel. He will eventually, I'm not sure if that's going to happen in week one.
22:55They're kind of like trying out just on stripling as the inside outside player.
22:59Uh, Debo Samuel obviously knows the playbook on type of stuff.
23:02That said, I, that stripling was an underrated player.
23:05Uh, he's a great athlete for three, six 40.
23:07If you guys watch him against Georgia, he had a 75 yarder against them.
23:11Uh, he had seven catches for 122 yards against Georgia.
23:14So like this is, uh, somebody that was not loved by the spreadsheets, but has the size has the athleticism has like the intangibles.
23:21That's something that everybody, uh, that I listened to from Trent Williams on the sideline to the beat reporters, to Dean Brugler,
23:27uh, everyone was saying that this guy has the great makeup and that he's going to be a trusted player.
23:33So I think it's Jawan Jennings with more burst, or if he kind of gets past that, then he can do some
23:39level of like a Brandon Nyuk impression here. So I think a very intriguing pick somewhere just inside the top 100.
23:45I'm quickly Googling some Jawan Jennings seasons here with the San Francisco 49ers.
23:49Like his age 27 season here in 2024, where he had 113 targets, 77 receptions, 975 yards and six touchdowns.
23:54I'll take it. I think that's possible. I really do think that is possible.
23:58I think this is going to be the classic case where I think that the October, November, December stretch, like could look
24:04a lot better than the September stretch. Um, and we'll see if these guys stay healthy.
24:09Like Mike Evans, George, like at any second, if we saw the report set back out for four weeks, nobody would be surprised.
24:15Yeah. Again, I am drafting him aggressively because this is a top 10 offense perennially every single year.
24:21It's a top 10 offense. Uh, and this is someone that from the first day of camp, we've gotten positive buzz on
24:27then every single preseason snap or game that he played, whether it be with Matt Jones or back with Brock Purdy, like
24:33we have gotten positive plays from him. And that was inside.
24:36That was outside. That was winning over the middle.
24:39That was going up and get it contested. Uh, that was manufactured stuff on top of it.
24:43And if you caught that one pass and the double move down the field, like we might not be able to get
24:50him right now in the ninth round or wherever it might be an eighth or seventh round pick on top of this.
24:56So again, I am incredibly aggressive in selecting stripling as my wide receiver three.
25:00If I have to right now playing him in the flex in that first week.
25:04And then I think we can only go up from there.
25:07Uh, I think there are decent odds. He leads all rookies in receiving the season.
25:12I think it's possible. I hope so. Yep. Uh, the projections don't say the same.
25:16The projections have him at 63 targets, 42 receptions, 506 yards, and just three scores.
25:20I'll take the higher, the over on every single one of those.
25:23Yeah. Okay. Makai Lemon, the seventh pick of the 10th round.
25:27Widers here at 45 right now on Yahoo. By the way, if you want our rankings ahead of any drafts that you
25:33do have this week, uh, they're free in the description down below half and full PPR.
25:37But if you want to take it to the next level, going over to the ultra playbook on Yahoo plus, I mean,
25:44it's 150 page dadgum almanac with everything that you need.
25:46Everything. Hayden's writing a lot in it. I'm running a little bit in it.
25:50Uh, and so are all of the other writers here on Yahoo.
25:54So if you really want to go deep, if you want to be a true sicko, that is the ultimate playbook.
26:00All right. Back to Makai Lemon. He has been back for the end of the preseason.
26:04He played in that final game called three of five targets, dropped a pass for an interception.
26:09I think those three receptions went for about three yards.
26:12Um, meanwhile, Don Tavion Wicks gotten, uh, some rave reviews in camp.
26:15So it seems like Hayden Lemon is destined for three wide receiver sets early in his career, but the season is very long.
26:22So definitely Don Tavion Wicks, uh, is not, you know, I wouldn't say he's the most consistent player.
26:27So I think at some point in the season, Makai Lemon will be in two wide receiver sets.
26:32And at that point we can treat him as a real fantasy asset, both fantasy wide receivers, um, into our receiver sets where the Eagles have been awesome.
26:40We'll see if Makai Lemon can reach that. It's just gonna be a totally different way that he's going to do it
26:46where it's like, you know, within 15 and 20 yards of the line of scrimmage only.
26:51Uh, I will say that he played at the catch point a lot better than most like slot wide receivers.
26:56Uh, my comps pre-draft went from a Monro St.
26:59Brown, which I don't think he's actually going to get to a Monro St.
27:03Brown down to Khalil Shakir. That's a pretty wide range.
27:06Parker Washington would be like another comp, uh, if you're a true sicko out there, 3.5 yards per zone route after removing
27:12the screens, that's the best in the class by far zero drops all year.
27:16Um, so we'll see. He's not a super explosive player, but he's a pretty dense player.
27:20I thought he was great against zone coverage. Like I just shared there.
27:24So I think that he's, he's a fine pick.
27:27I don't think that you should be drafting him to start up.
27:30Like you were drafting him as a bench stash, but this is like the Eagles offense could easily be a top 10 offense.
27:37He was supposed to go really high in the draft.
27:39He did. Uh, and this is a situation where we've historically got fantasy production for.
27:44He's one of those end of season bloomers this year from, I mean, their buys not till week 10, but I can
27:50see this happening in week eight and beyond. Uh, where, you know, we're early season pilled a little bit and brained with the Don Tavion wick stuff.
27:57I just don't see an envision a game one through 17 Don Tavion wicks is the Eagles wide receiver two all season long.
28:04No chance. There's no chance of that. So look, if the running game gets fixed and so then Sean Manning can pluck
28:10out these multiple throws from Jalen hurts and the passing game is very good.
28:14Then it's not just going to be done. Devante Smith that gets there, right?
28:18It's going to be another pass catcher as we have seen in those seasons when Jalen hurts is on one and they have single coverage on the outside.
28:26Both those guys are top 20 wide receivers. So Makai Lemon is the ideal like wide receiver four pick right now that
28:32as the season goes along, like you need to fill in as your wide receiver or five, one of these washed veterans
28:39behind him and then really just keep Lemon as a stash until he gets up to like the 70, 80% snap share on a weekly basis.
28:46Yeah, I see it the same way. I will say, I think that his upsides kind of capped like unless, you know,
28:52injuries break his way and whatnot because the Eagles run the ball so often inside the 10 yard line.
28:58You have to score your touchdowns as a receiver in this offense from way out.
29:02I'm not sure if like Lemon is like Mr.
29:04Like 30 yard touchdown. So I think that I'm kind of drafting him in the wider super forties.
29:09And I think by the end of the year, like I'll routinely be drafted or ranking as the wide receiver 33.
29:15But it's going to take a little bit of time.
29:18I'm not expecting Makai Lemon to like finish as the wider super 15 this year.
29:22Like if Devontae Smith's out there, like Devontae Smith couldn't do that.
29:26And I know Devontae Smith is really good. So I would just be surprised if Makai Lemon could do that as a
29:32rookie, even the back half of this. The projections here for Lemon, 73 targets, 48 receptions, 626 yards and 3.6 touchdowns.
29:38Next up is Casey Concepcion. I mean, truly our favorite wide receiver prospect of his class.
29:43Six pick of the 11th round still, despite us ranking him much, much, much higher.
29:47Wide receiver 48 on Yahoo at this moment. I mean, I could read the Odyssey here.
29:51How many quotes Todd Munkin has on him? But he's a simple one here.
29:55So he hopes the team is trying to get Casey Concepcion the ball, quote, as often as we can.
30:01Again, we've talked about the easy button constantly that manufacturer touches, easy screens, short receptions, slot and outside work.
30:06Casey Concepcion has shown it all in this offense in the preseason.
30:09If you're watching this video, you watch it for Casey Concepcion.
30:13He is the guy that you guys absolutely have to draft.
30:16Like as simple as that on Yahoo. You have to draft Casey Concepcion.
30:19He was my 14th overall player. He's my wide receiver too.
30:22I even had him ahead of Makai Lemon, Jordan Tyson, Denzel Boston pre-draft and in the same tier as Cardinal Tate.
30:28I just feel way better about the Browns getting Casey Concepcion involved in the offense where he's like catching five ish passes
30:35plus per game than I do with the Titans and Cardinal Tate.
30:38So in full PPR, it's for sure Casey Concepcion over Cardinal Tate for me.
30:42In half PPR, it's pretty close between Makai Lemon, Concepcion and Cardinal Tate.
30:46But Casey Concepcion routinely goes way later than those guys where I think he's the most obvious target as a prospect.
30:52I think you had this comp. Were you the Jalen Waddle comp?
30:55Yeah, that was me. He's Jalen Waddle plus about 13 pounds on his back.
30:59Yeah. I'd Waddle, Diggs, Zay Flowers. Those guys are awesome.
31:02And Munkin just coached Zay Flowers and Hayden. What we loved is the manufactured carry that Casey Concepcion got in the red zone.
31:08He showed something that Zay Flowers kind of hasn't so far, which is true, like one-on-one tackle breaking ability to win through contact.
31:15And that's the difference between an 11-yard carry and a 16-yard touchdown.
31:18It's exactly, again, what Casey showed. And he's given the incredible line of, yeah, I want to be known as the guy that quarters can't tackle.
31:26Yes. I love everything about this. Also, 66% of snaps outside.
31:29He's kind of like a could play outside and two wide receiver sets kick inside the slot, which is like what you, that's like what C.D.
31:36Lamb's role is, for example. It's the best role in fantasy.
31:39He's awesome at it. Also, if you go watch him against LSU, Mansoor Delaney and him, they didn't match up every single time.
31:46Delaney was a top 10 corner to the Chiefs.
31:48He was blowing by Delaney, like just not even close.
31:51And like you saw that also with Brandon Cissi, who also won top 100 as a corner.
31:56He was awesome in the SEC and was really productive as a freshman.
32:00The models love him. The eyes loved him. Everyone loves Casey Concepcion, except ADP, which is to our advantage.
32:05Yeah. And that's because of the Browns. But again, the Browns might have a difficult time getting the football to everyone on the team, except for Casey Concepcion.
32:13Like this is Todd Munkin's guy. He just coached JSA Flowers and is able to manufacture touches and receptions when he needs to.
32:19Let's not overlook one during his time at NC State.
32:22He also was like a legit ball carrier, like between the tackles runs and can hold up and, you know, win with the ball in his hands.
32:30And then two, there was a lot of chatter just from people out there that the guy can't catch.
32:35You know, it's a miss. He drops the high drop rate.
32:38Hey, have you seen like a single highlight or low light this training camp of him not catching the football?
32:44It seems like in every single one in tight coverage and, you know, small windows, he's coming down with the football and making some miraculous catches.
32:51Pretty cool. Yeah. Yeah. I didn't have to bring that up because that feels so long ago that we were talking about
32:58the drops part, but it was real. So I just want to bring up, and we talked about this both on the
33:04expert draft and especially in our wide receiver rankings, that you and I just basically want to draft these round 10, 11
33:10wide receivers in Stripling, Lemon, Matthew Golden, Casey Concepcion, for you, Xavier Worthy as well, over some of these round nine and
33:16maybe even eight wide receivers in like Michael Wilson and Courtland Sutton and so on and so forth.
33:21So we can just flip some of those because I know I have them ranked in a lot of places too ahead of them.
33:28Yeah. I kind of like doing like my wide receiver three is like just a veteran.
33:33I can plug them in there in week one, like a Steph Diggs type and then hit you guys with like two of these young guys.
33:40I got Matthew Golden plus Casey Concepcion is like perfect to me.
33:44But I would say, hey, don't feel like you need to wait until round 11 to draft Casey.
33:49If you need to do it in round nine, there's again, there's no reason to wait just to try to get an
33:55extra, you know, eight picks on ADP value. I really, you get one of these really good wide receivers that we talked
34:01about slightly ahead of where they're going to lock him in because, you know, maybe your co-manager, your league mate, your friend
34:07also listens to the show and they're trying to do the same exactly.
34:11Problems. We are not who right now, you know?
34:14All right. Next is Mike Washington Jr. Lots of quotes to bring up here.
34:18All right. The fourth pick of the 13th round running back 45 right now on the purple platform from John Spitek, a presser he just gave like yesterday.
34:25He said that head coach Clint Kubiak quote stood on the table for Mike Washington Jr.
34:30on day three, the NFL draft and said he was a perfect scheme fit and is pleased with the progression of the running back quote.
34:37We're all excited about the track. Mike is on.
34:40I think we have an expectation that he's going to help us win football games this year.
34:44What do you say? I believe him. I think he's going to touch the ball for real this year.
34:50I think the Raiders are going to try to run the ball as much as they can and the game scripts aren't
34:56going to say that they can that much. And I don't think that Kubiak is going to care.
35:01Uh, the offensive line did look a little bit better, uh, this preseason, um, getting Colton Miller back, uh, adding Tyler Linderbaum,
35:07all that stuff matters for Mike Washington. He was at Arkansas.
35:10He was like a, not a bell cow, but he was like an extremely explosive and then heavily involved, like change of
35:17pace guy where he averaged like a bunch of yards per carry was running by everybody in the sec and plus caught 28 passes.
35:24I think as similar ish seasons, like a lower level, cause you have Ashton Jeanty, I think it's totally possible.
35:29I would not say that he's going to like be redraft.
35:32Um, like we like startable as Gentry is healthy, but I think that he is going to be involved for the Raiders
35:39because he is a perfect scheme fit. Like I I'm taking what Kubiak was saying, like at face value, like that's what
35:45my eyes tell me, like outside zone, get them on the outside and see what happens.
35:49Uh, Ryan Matthews was a comp Latavius Murray, big basal toot.
35:52And like, those are my three comps for Mike Washington.
35:55I was, I had him as a top 100 player consensus rankings had as a, uh, as a top 100 player.
36:01And he's looked like a top 100 player in the preseason.
36:04So it sounds like Gentry is probably going to play in the first game or so, but Mike Washington is an excellent
36:11handcuff because like that guy's massive and has been dominant in this preseason.
36:14This is going to be linked to Ash and Gentry a lot.
36:18Just a quote, not even a quote from click Kubiak today, but he was asked that he was optimistic on Ash and
36:24Gentry being able to play in week one versus the dolphins, which by the way, is the easiest matchup the Raiders have on paper through week 11.
36:31His answer was yes. And he grinned during it.
36:34Um, my number one statement is that Ash and Gentry is not going to have 85% of the workload like he did last year.
36:41Right? So then what's the scale? Hey, and I really believe it's going to be 65, 35 here between the two.
36:47Whoa. I really do. Um, people, when they were drafting Ash and Gentry, one, two turn, that is not what you're expecting
36:53on a team projected for like the fourth lowest points in the league.
36:57But every time that Mike Washington jr. Touched the football in the preseason, he earned more reps, right?
37:02He earned more work. He, to me has underrated vision between the tackles.
37:05And then he had showed like the duality of tackle breaking, uh, hurtling someone at the second level and their arm tackle, and then running over a safety.
37:13And I would say his tackle breaking was like the worst aspect of his game at Arkansas.
37:18Despite his size, he was more, Hey, get a scene for me and let me just outrun everyone.
37:23He is that level of an athlete. And when Clint Kubiak wants to draft you, the guy that's designing the offense who
37:30just split a backfield, basically 55, 45, the Seahawks.
37:32I'm not going to that point, but I really don't think it's going to be 75, 25 here.
37:37Like Gentry, no matter what, if he plays in week one is not going to get the same amount of touches as
37:43they probably planned a month ago in week one.
37:46And I just firmly believe that when Mike Washington gets his chances, he's going to earn more and more and more work
37:52and have like a legit, maybe two series, one series workload here.
37:56Yeah. That would be one of the biggest fantasy storylines of the season.
37:59If that, if that's what happens here, I can see it as if not what my baseline projection would be this entire
38:06month kind of trended in that direction though. I would go 72 to, you know, 28 would be my, my projected, um, split here.
38:12Um, but if Ash and Gentry went down and the prayer circle didn't work, Mike Washington, I think would have been a six round pick for me.
38:20Like no problem. Four, three, three, uh, speed 40 inch vertical.
38:23He's 223 pounds. He can catch the ball. Uh, and the guys behind him, it's like Dylan Lobby and the boys.
38:29Um, and there's not, there's not a free agent running back, you know, like there's, there's not, no one's coming in like James Conner off injury.
38:36Like all that stuff is not going to happen.
38:39It's Mike Washington. I do think that could be a drafted him for a reason.
38:43They did not have to draft the running back.
38:46I thought it was like such a good value in the fourth round for them.
38:50It was such a good fit. Um, I think like he's actually a better theoretical fit for Kubiak versus like what Gentry does as a player.
38:57Um, so yeah, it'll be interesting to watch. I mean, if like the Houston Texans drafted Mike Washington, you guys wouldn't hear me shut up.
39:04So if you think I'm saying a lot about how he's going to cut into this Raiders, if he was in, you
39:11know, another backfield, uh, I would be drafting him in every single turn.
39:14It's just with this one, he's not going to have a lot of value for you as long as Ashton Jinty is on the field.
39:21It's that simple as much as I like him.
39:24Uh, it's just, it's different when you have a, you know, 6535 split.
39:28If you're the LA Rams and you're number one in scoring versus a bottom five offense and you're 6535 here.
39:33Yeah. I do him like Tink Bigsby and Seth.
39:36It's like whoever starter goes down is the one that you needed to draft, but he's like firmly in that tier of like really high ends insurance place.
39:44Caleb Douglas is the next rookie off the board on Yahoo.
39:47The fourth pick of the 14th round wide receiver 58, his head coach, Jeff Halfley on Caleb Douglas quote, taller guy who
39:53was strong at the reception point, but he's got the feel and feet like a small guy so he can get in and out of his breaks.
40:01He's a hard player to jam at the line of scrimmage as a defensive back guy.
40:05He's big, but he plays like a small guy.
40:08Those guys give you problems. They have a week six by Hayden.
40:11That might be a good time for, you know, the league to slow down here on Caleb Douglas, but we look at wide receiver rooms across the league.
40:19The dolphins are probably at the bottom of the list.
40:22And while Caleb Douglas isn't a refront for find player right now, uh, he's going to get a ton of opportunity to
40:28iron that out, actually playing football and on the field.
40:31Yeah. 75th overall pick. He was one of like the surprise players to go in the third round there.
40:36Um, Caleb Douglas, like a, to me, like an intermediate downfield threat more than someone that's going to be, uh, underneath.
40:42If you watch the preseason games, uh, he had like one of the craziest catches up the seam.
40:48He also caught a ball that he should have been inbounds and he caught the ball out of bounds, like did not know where he was.
40:55So I think that there's a little bit of like give and take with this type of player here.
41:00The good news is most rookies, they have to wait until the bi-week to be inserted into the offense, uh, of starting lineup.
41:07He's going to be a two wide receiver set player in week one.
41:10I think it's gonna be Malik Washington and Caleb Douglas in two wide receiver sets.
41:15And then Chris Bell is going to ramp up.
41:17I would rather take Chris Bell than Caleb Douglas in, in redraft, because I think by the end of the season, I
41:23just thought Chris Bell was a much better player than Caleb Douglas.
41:27And I don't think that we're going to be starting any Miami dolphins wide receiver until that the bi-weeks until someone comes to shows himself.
41:34Like, I think it's kind of like a weird needle for Caleb Douglas to thread and redraft where at that point we'll
41:40talk about Chris Bell in a second. I would rather just go with the player who I thought was a lot better and more explosive.
41:47Yeah. There's a lot to say about Chris Bell in a moment.
41:51Um, actually I'll just bring him up now. I mean, he's the 11th wide receiver off the board.
41:56He's going around later in the 15th round. Uh, Chris Bell returned from injury earlier than the dolphins originally planned for this is from GM, John Eric Sullivan.
42:04Chris has worked his behind off to get himself ready.
42:07Our expectation was probably getting him back after the buy, which by the way, that was a week six by so not
42:13until week seven, that was our expectation. It's a testament to the kid.
42:16And it also is a testament to the people that work with him every day.
42:21But yeah, we're excited about Chris. He's put forth the effort to get himself ready to go much earlier than we expected and we'll get him going.
42:28He is a dense, fast guy, right? That's kind of his like route.
42:32He's kind of linear in it in a way.
42:35Uh, and so the slants, these crossing routes, all of that, get the ball in his hands.
42:39We saw against bad competition and good competition like Miami.
42:42He was able to catch it and run away from everyone.
42:45So it's absolutely incredible to me that Chris Bell was able to play actual preseason snaps.
42:50I mean, insane stuff and hate it in a way.
42:53It's a cool pairing that these guys have where Caleb Douglas is almost as tall, lanky, long strider.
42:58And Chris Bell, again, is this more compact yet stout, big power player on top.
43:02My comps pre-draft Debo Samuel, DJ Moore, and then Traylon Burks.
43:05Um, so I was a very wide range of outcomes on this type of player.
43:09Yeah. I had him as my like 35th overall player.
43:12Um, and then he goes, uh, what 94th or so overall, uh, because of the ACL injury.
43:17But I think what's going to happen is, uh, the first five games of the season, part-time player, get him some touches,
43:23see where he's at, make sure you can get tackled, feel comfortable.
43:27And then after the, the bi-week, the schedule actually really opens up.
43:30There's some really terrible defenses, even like for the fantasy playoffs where like if he was as good as I thought, and there's no competition for snaps.
43:38Like there is this like pathway that Chris Bell can hit on.
43:41He was not everybody's favorite prospect. He was very, very much a boom bust type of player.
43:46There's just only so many wide receivers in the NFL at that size that can run like he did.
43:51Uh, the Miami game was one of the best performances I've seen of any prospect.
43:56This last draft was Chris Bell against Miami. I think someone like Caleb Douglas on another team with a different depth chart
44:02at wide receiver probably wouldn't get a lot of snaps until about week seven, but it's, um, it's awesome.
44:07That he gets to, again, make plays and make mistakes and learn on the fly.
44:11And hopefully they just allow him to kind of play through all of that.
44:15They kind of have to based on their wide receiver room.
44:19And we even saw in that first precinct game where he made the sideline grab that didn't get, didn't get two feet in bounds.
44:25And then there was a slot fade where he goes up and like one hands it.
44:30We're going to get this high variance nature to it as well.
44:33And Hey, I kind of wonder if he's going to be one of these players who has like pops off for, you
44:39know, 90 yards and a touchdown and is headlining the waiver show that we have with Joel.
44:44Uh, and then in the next week follows it up with like two catches for 26 yards.
44:49Yeah. I mean, that's, that's definitely going to happen.
44:52I think between the two, do you agree? Chris Bell is like the one that if you're going to stream together multiple
44:58weeks in a row where we finally feel confident to start him in redraft, I think that Chris Bell has the profile
45:04to hit that more so than they drafted Caleb Douglas ahead of Chris Bell.
45:08Uh, definitely so. Um, but I think that was with the ACL concerns and like if I now we're, we've removed largely
45:14most of the ACL concerns and like straight up, like let's say they're drafted back to back.
45:19Like I would rather have Chris Bell's profile. So Caleb Douglas, his projections are 60 targets, 40 receptions, 480 yards and three scores.
45:26And then I'll quickly get Chris Bell's here. Um, if they even exist, I'm sure they do.
45:30Uh, they are 47 targets, 33 receptions, 386 yards and two scores.
45:34What I like about Bobby Sloick and this passing attack, he's going to have, you know, extra tight ends, a fullback and
45:40give extra protection to Malik Willis who we saw in the preseason and we saw last year with the Packers.
45:46He's like an actual pocket passer. And then he scrambles.
45:49Like, I think people don't give him enough credit for doing that.
45:52And then we're going to get some big downfield crossing routes, either downfield vertical routes or kind of like the scissors action down the field.
45:59Uh, and then they tear up like single high and zone coverage and all that type of stuff.
46:04When the dolphins have a passing attack that's cooking, it's going to be big, explosive plays down the field.
46:10Yep. There's gonna be no reliability here, but I think we'll have a couple, we will have a couple of plays like Malik Willis to Chris Bell.
46:17You're like, wow, that is like athleticism at the highest degree in the NFL right there.
46:22Both of these guys will probably wind up on the waiver wire video three times this year.
46:27Yes. Yes. Yes. Okay. Sandwich in between is Jonah Coleman of the Denver Broncos.
46:30The second pick of the 15th round on Yahoo running back 54.
46:34ESPN's Jeff Legwald believes that Coleman quote, will get plenty of work this season.
46:38He's squarely in the backfield rotation for the Broncos.
46:40So, Hey, we basically have to decide if J K Dobbins, RJ Harvey and Jonah Coleman, if one of them has value
46:47or none of them has value in a way for an entire season in terms of drafting.
46:51But I think we'll get to certain points that individual weeks, one of these guys will be ranked quite highly in your running back rankings.
46:59Yeah. This is a long conversation. I think that all three of them compliment each other in intriguing ways.
47:04If you're like the Broncos, like putting together a roster, um, Jonah Coleman is far closer to J K Dobbins than RJ
47:10Harvey to the point that I think RJ Harvey is like in the RJ Harvey role and that's always going to exist.
47:16And then I kind of viewed Jonah Coleman as like J K Dobbins, like more or less direct replacement where, uh, he
47:23can pass protect, he can catch a couple of passes, but you're really like just trusting his vision and his like lower
47:29center of gravity to kind of, uh, take control like in short yardage situations.
47:33That said they did give J K Dobbins $10 million.
47:36And I think that Jonah Coleman is somebody that I've not drafted a whole lot of while I agree with the narratives
47:42that are, that people are throwing out there. I don't think that he's actually going to take J K Dobbins job this season.
47:48And while we think that J K Dobbins is going to play four games this season, like I didn't do think the
47:55more realistic case is like he plays more than 10.
47:57Uh, and in that scenario, Jonah Coleman, we would be like waiting to see when J K Dobbins misses.
48:03And then even in that situation, that first week, are you really going to feel comfortable that Jonah Coleman is getting enough volume when RJ Harvey's there?
48:10So there's one of these guys where like, I like him for the Broncos.
48:14It was way more than I do in fantasy.
48:17And I will be selling the narrative that Jonah Coleman is going to steal J K Dobbins job.
48:22Um, but I do think that he can do a good impression for J K Dobbins if he does miss time.
48:28Yeah. I mean, J K Dobbins has missed time every season.
48:31So I hate predicting injuries, but if there was ever time to predict injuries, it would kind of be in this case.
48:37Um, I will also add that, you know, one, a Sean Payton running back has never hit 250 carries underneath him.
48:43J K Dobbins was on pace for it last year before he left, I believe in week 10, uh, 10.
48:49Yeah. Yeah. Week 10 of last year. And yet to be on like a career high of carries for a running back
48:55associated to Sean Payton and everyone believing like that was going to be a career season for J K Dobbins.
49:01That also equaled the running back 23 in points per game during that time period.
49:05So the Broncos were rolling and the Broncos were rolling.
49:08And a big part of that is because like RJ Harvey is going to be mixed in, in the red zone with
49:14some cool ass plays to get him receptions, uh, and just receiving totals in general.
49:18Now I think Jonah Coleman has a more receiving ability than J K Dobbins.
49:22He is more comfortable in that area, but at the same time, the RJ Harvey role lingers over it all.
49:28And then really how RJ Harvey got there in the end was because he had the whole thing, right?
49:33He had both the touchdown scores, the receptions, and also like the grinded out work on first and second down.
49:39Yeah. I think, I think what you're getting to is like, let's give Jonah Coleman six weeks without J K Dobbins this year.
49:46Totally understand that. Then we're hoping that he takes the J K Dobbins role where we're hoping we get some RB 25 weeks.
49:52And that's also assuming that Jonah Coleman is in the exact J K Dobbins role and that RJ Harvey's not graduating to
49:58more than that, where I think the re the realistic outcome would be both RJ Harvey and Jonah Coleman's role grows.
50:04And that this, he does not become J K Dobbins.
50:07And even if he did become J K Dobbins, like, so what you have like a flex value.
50:12Like I would rather just take the tank bigs bees and Mike Washington's where it's like nothing, nothing, nothing.
50:18Now they're inside my top 20 for sure, because they have the backflip to themselves.
50:22I just don't see that with Jonah Coleman. Okay.
50:24There are three rookies in the final round of Yahoo drafts right now around 16.
50:29The first is actually Ted Hurst. Hayden, he's wide receiver 64.
50:32Wow. This is from Jason light. After we drafted Ted Hurst, I personally thought, okay, this is a great situation for him
50:38to be behind these guys and learn. He may not make a big impact for us this year, but when he's one
50:44for the future, but I think he's proven to us throughout camp, even OTAs practice every day.
50:49He's been very, very steady and I think it's kind of evolved into, okay, we can use him this year and he's going to play a role.
50:57This is somewhat important because Jim McMillan is missing practice and he met a book is kind of practicing right now with his toe injury.
51:04So it's just Chris Godwin and Ted Johnson at wide receiver.
51:07And that's it. Ted Hurst was a fascinating prospect coming out of Georgia state where he ran a vertical route every single
51:13time and dunked on dudes that were 30 pounds lighter and three tenths of a second slower in terms of his 40.
51:19Yeah. He was a fascinating watch. I can see how some people just view him as like this, we have to draft
51:26this guy and see the upside case. I would say that I just saw too much development needed for Ted Hurst, like take him serious this year.
51:33Comps were DJ Chark, Justin Hunter, Denzel Minns, like the most boom bust, like vertical players.
51:38Um, I thought he had too many drops. I thought like his, like just timing and stuff working across the middle on
51:44slants and digs, everything just kind of felt off his route running and like his, where he's like going to be hitting his break points.
51:51I thought that was off. Um, and as at the same time, like one handed catch in the senior bowl.
51:57And then he did have some like really wow moments when he was opening up in space.
52:02So I think it's a lot to overcome, um, as a rookie.
52:05Um, but if a Mecca and Jalen McMillan get out of the way, then like they're going to get him on the
52:11field and see what, see what he has. It's not at least promising that some of my concerns they have not seen
52:17quite as much, uh, in the off season though, Jason light did call him a developmental prospect.
52:22So I think like they saw the same thing as, as we did on tape, uh, maybe overcomes that quickly, but typically
52:28these guys take, take too long to develop. They have a week 10 by here's my pitch.
52:33Okay. If we know that a Mecca Buka is going to be the Z in this offense, Ted Hurst simply put can
52:40be like the designated sacrificial X here as you line them up in the line of scrimmage once he kind of maybe
52:46gets his release package working and makes a few dunk on you catches, maybe in some role-playing stuff earlier, like Isaac Tesla did last year.
52:53Like maybe, maybe that's the comparison here is Isaac Tesla in a way and how he's being utilized in the NFL versus what he was at Arkansas.
53:00Um, and if that's the case, then he only has to compete with like Chris Godwin who we'll see if he gets back.
53:07And then, uh, Jim McMillan who can't stay on the field right now.
53:11So, uh, I could see us looking down in week 12 and Ted Hurst is playing a bunch of snaps as a
53:17stand on the line of scrimmage and run downfield player.
53:20It's possible. And there's a lot of if then statements.
53:23Uh, I agree. Yeah. But, but I mean, people love this offense.
53:26They're drafting a lot of it. The offensive line might be the best in the NFL.
53:30And so, you know, these types of prospects like Ted Hurst, you can also fall on your face in training camp and like not know what you're doing.
53:38And yes, it sounds like the opposite of that.
53:41So that's good news. Denzel Boston is actually after him as wide receiver 65.
53:45Um, he drew rave reviews in camp, uh, which is understandable.
53:48Denzel Boston is a very good player was the 40th overall pick.
53:51Um, he's going to play and start and run a lot of routes.
53:55Uh, Hayden, it just might be more difficult to get him the football than Casey Concepcion.
54:00Yeah, definitely. So, but I think like Denzel Boston versus Ted Hurst, like to me, like this is not even close.
54:06Like Denzel Boston was like somebody that you could have drafted in the first round goes early in the second round.
54:12My comps, Michael Pittman, Michael Wilson, like Juwan Jennings, uh, depending on exactly where you're gonna line them up.
54:17He's like a traditional X receiver who I thought did a little bit more underneath than given credit for like, now you're
54:23not going to throw him screens, but could you, could you throw him slants and like do that type of thing with, with, uh, Denzel Boston?
54:31I think you can, I thought he was like a pretty, uh, nice route runner.
54:35He's not like crazy explosive in a straight line.
54:37Uh, but I thought he was like a pretty reliable X receiver type, uh, who could work underneath he's six foot four, 212 pounds.
54:44Um, yeah, the problem is obviously the Browns. Like he needs to score touchdowns cause he's not going to catch screens and then you're on the Browns.
54:52It's hard to get there. That said like Denzel Boston versus Ted Hurst playing time this year, it'll be like a three to one, four to one.
54:59He's projected for 48 catches, 584 yards and three touchdowns.
55:02I do think he has some real red zone ability.
55:05Oh yeah. Um, I also believe that the Browns are going to be playing from behind even more this year and maybe
55:11much different on the scoreboard versus their defense being able to keep them within, you know, three to seven to 10 points a bit more often.
55:19Um, so yeah, I mean, it sucks that we have Deshaun Watson and Jador Sanders throwing the football here, but, um, I
55:25do think Denzel Boston and his 80 targets, uh, 80 targets might be a little bit low for me.
55:30It might be like 85 or 90. The other thing that Denzel Boston has as an out is Jerry Judy getting traded,
55:37uh, post June 1st trade for the Browns saves $4 million.
55:40Um, so like as we get closer to the deadline, I'm sure the Browns are going to be removed from playoff contention
55:46and this does seem like the front office that would, you know, we just watch them trade miles.
55:51Gary, I think anything out of Jerry Judy, which I do think Jerry Judy is a starter in the NFL for a contender.
55:57I do think that Jerry Judy getting traded at the deadline, it would just be Concepcion and Boston or Isaiah Bond.
56:03And in that situation, like I could see Denzel Boston, like proving something there, but even then not so much.
56:09Okay. Rank these final round wide receivers. All right.
56:12Uh, Caleb Douglas, Chris Bell, Ted Hurst. Denzel Boston, Boston, Bell Douglas, Hurst for me.
56:16I'm not even going to throw in Zachariah Branch, even though right now he is being drafted in the final round of Yahoo.
56:22Um, interesting player. I just don't know if he's a 2026 player here for the Falcons.
56:27Like maybe he steps in and fills in some slot work here at the same time.
56:31We want Drake London in this slot. We want Kyle Pitts in the slot.
56:35Um, Zachariah Branch out of Georgia needs to be, and USC, uh, just needs to learn like some downfield routes and, you
56:42know, the manipulation and the storytelling when it comes to it.
56:45So I think this year, Hayden, at least for the first half of the season, uh, will likely look at him as,
56:51oh, he's still back to that manufacturer touches. And when he's on the field, he's going to get the football.
56:57Uh, and I just hope that once, if he ever does get playing time, we can just look at his routes and see, oh, he's actually creating separation.
57:05Yes. Yeah. I think it's going to be like a per play, um, uh, investigation on branch.
57:09He has to beat out Zaccheaus for the slot role.
57:12And then, um, there's no actually tough to do.
57:15Like that sounds like nothing. Alameda Zaccheaus has kept better players on the side.
57:19Yes, for sure. Um, and then there's pretty much like no reason to have them out there in two wide receiver sets.
57:25Like that would be like really pressing your luck with Zachariah Branch and like the, the route tree that he had at Georgia.
57:32I didn't notice in the preseason, like they did him, did, uh, have them go down the field and he had like
57:38one of those like tank Dell stop and go back to the sideline.
57:41And you see like incredible athleticism. So he was like, yes.
57:45And I, I think we've behaved in fantasy and then the NFL draft, they behaved a third round pick last round pick
57:51and, and, and even the deepest of drafts. I can say, Hey, Zachariah Branch with this athleticism, he actually has a chance because we're being nice.
57:58But like previously this type of profile would be like, we're drafting around one.
58:02Yeah. It's like, okay, you guys are out of your mind.
58:05I think that Zach buying the absolute lowest on Zachariah Branch is actually kind of intriguing to me because he does have
58:11like the absolute rare, rare start stop ability. Um, and like versus like the Malachi Corleys and those types, it's like not even close.
58:18So like I'm intrigued to watch him because we've behaved.
58:21Okay. Those are the only 14 rookies being selected in drafts right now on Yahoo.
58:25Uh, we'll now go back to the top of the actual NFL draft and just go through some rookies too.
58:31That caught my eye. Obviously the first is Fernando Mendoza.
58:34Kirk cousins has now been named the starter for week one, uh, per Adam Schefter.
58:38The last six quarterbacks drafted number one overall had started in week one.
58:42However, five weeks ago, uh, I would have told you that Fernando Mendoza would be, you know, lucky to play half the
58:48season that was based on, you know, every insider relaying information from Tom Brady and spy tech and Clint Kubiak and all that type of stuff.
58:55And yet Kubiak and spy tech have all been apparently wowed by Mendoza during training camp.
59:00And, uh, Hey, we could hear his name called as soon as week two.
59:04Yeah, definitely. So, so they're by weeks, week 13.
59:06I think at the very least he's coming in after that.
59:09I think the most likely outcome is playing way before that.
59:13And it's like looking at the schedule, they have two home games in week six and seven against the bills and the Rams.
59:19But guess what? You're going to play some real teams.
59:22This is the dang NFL. Uh, I thought he acclimated himself under center.
59:26I think that was like in training camp. They're like, we have never seen you do this before.
59:31Let's see if you can handle it. And obviously the results in the preseason games have been very hit and miss.
59:37We've had pick sixes and we've had some really awesome passes over the middle.
59:41I think in general, I would give him the pass and say, he's gonna have to develop and like learn when the
59:47bullets are flying in the regular season to like actually go somewhere with this.
59:51And I think that Kubiak's a sharp, sharp guy.
59:53So, you know, thank you, Kirk cousins for being a nice guy.
59:57Get through, you know, let's give him the first four.
60:00Four games, play the cheese, go into new England for the, for week five, go take your L there.
60:05And then week six, seven at home. I feel like that would be like what I would do if I was the Raiders.
60:12This is obviously more of a super flex conversation for preseason stuff.
60:15I'm looking at your rankings and for week one starters, you have Fernando Mendoza ranked ahead of whoever starting for the Falcons,
60:21whoever starting for the Browns, Jacob Brissett, Aaron Rodgers, Cam Ward, Gino Smith and Bryce Young for the season.
60:27And he's just behind, you know, CJ Stroud and especially only one spot behind overall, Daniel Jones.
60:31So again, if that's your super flex, um, he is worth a draft pick.
60:35That's for sure. Yeah. So if you're like one of the last to draft your quarterback too, and you want to be
60:42the first to draft your quarterback three and it's Fernando Mendoza.
60:45I think that's like totally fine. I think, uh, people view like Fernando Mendoza as like this, like pocket quarterback.
60:50And like for the most part he is, he did have some moments where he was trucking defenders, uh, for touchdowns.
60:56And I think that you can get them involved where you can have enough rushing production to be like the quarterback 25.
61:02And I've seen enough from Kubiak this off season to be like, there's a chance that this could like look the part.
61:09They don't have enough skill talent to actually go anywhere, but I think that this is going to be a functional organization for Fernando Mendoza.
61:16Next to our jets rookies, Kenyon Sadiq, the tight end, Omar Cooper, the wide receiver.
61:20Uh, Cooper was a 30th overall pick. The athletic Zach Rosenblatt believes Cooper's role quote should grow over time.
61:25He started to show some signs of life by the end of training camp.
61:29Uh, and Kenyon Sadiq maybe showed signs of life this week.
61:33I mean, apparently he is on track to play according to, uh, the New York jets website, but Frank Reich on Mike
61:39has said he is behind and we can't do like anything close to what the plan was.
61:44Uh, Hayden, it was perfectly applicable. I think for neither of these players to be fantasy relevant to start in week one,
61:50but, uh, I wouldn't put it past. One of them to be fancy relevant at some point this season.
61:55Yeah, definitely. So, I mean, we've never had first round picks in the NFL draft go completely undrafted in fantasy.
62:01And that's what's happened with both of these guys.
62:03So like I'm intrigued. I didn't even like Kenyon Sadiq.
62:06I didn't even like Omar Cooper. I thought those were bad picks by the jets and I've been drafting them, uh, like,
62:12you know, 15, 16, 17, 18th round. Like I, I draft these guys.
62:16Like there's just like, it's only upside, uh, Omar Cooper.
62:19Like he, I didn't love him as a prospect.
62:22I got that he should have gone round two.
62:24I think Kenyon Sadiq closer to round two as well for me.
62:27And still like, um, these guys are absolutely free and they are way better talents than the guys that they're going undrafted again.
62:34I guess my only point is if Garrett Wilson and Adonai Mitchell are in two wide receiver sets and basically the outside
62:40wide receivers and Mason Taylor has made his claim to the tight end one spot, which it sounds like he has.
62:46Yes. And these two guys are almost battling for the same position in a way, uh, where Kenyon Sadiq in 12 personnel
62:52is kind of your athletic receiving tight end. And then Omar Cooper might be best in the slot.
62:57I'll be it. He played outside, you know, one season at Indiana.
63:01Um, but yeah, I mean, they're kind of, Hey, let's get the ball in their hands in the short to intermediate area.
63:07Uh, and even some downfield, like run the seam, especially for Kenyon Sadiq.
63:11And you can do that Omar Cooper too. Uh, but after the catch is like where they can really make their difference in a mismatch way.
63:18I will say completely agree. These guys have no chance for, for a while, but it's a long season.
63:24And if like Adonai Mitchell is struggling, I do think Omar Cooper can be in two wide receiver sets that experiment that
63:30in the back half of the season. I think that Kenyon Sadiq overtaking Mason Taylor is I think more challenging than Omar
63:36Cooper getting into the slot and then eventually coming for Adonai Mitchell, or you have two wide receivers to go down.
63:42So like, I would rather have Omar Cooper versus Kenyon Sadiq straight up.
63:46Um, but these guys are just way too cheap for the draft capital that they got.
63:50And there's also a chance that they really don't think Sadiq is ready after, you know, re-aggravating his injury.
63:56And, you know, Frank Reich, at least during his time with the Panthers lined up in 11 personnel, 92% of the time.
64:02And if that's the case, then Omar Cooper is going to be out there 75 plus percent of the time, you know?
64:08Yep. Yep. So I'd rather do Omar versus Sadiq.
64:11Uh, and I'm old enough to admit it. I, I have been drafting some Mason Taylor on my Geno Smith teams.
64:16Um, I think he's like, I think he was a real player.
64:20Jeremy Bernard is next. Uh, he's the wide receiver four on the Steelers right now.
64:24The wide receiver three though is Roman Wilson. To me, that should be someone that Jeremy Bernard beats out if that competition is fair.
64:31And let's say Aaron Rodgers thumb is not on the button.
64:34Um, they also have a week nine by, so maybe he's more of like a second half of the season, but I
64:40think this team just has wide receiver questions in general.
64:43Like Michael Pittman Jr. Aaron Rodgers was on the mic today and he said his start of the season basically might be slow.
64:50Uh, he hyped up DK Metcalf, um, and Pat Friermuth on top of this.
64:54But man, Jeremy is just one of those guys that did everything at Alabama in terms of the entire passing attack from
65:00Ryan Grubb was built around him, lined up in every single spot.
65:03And when he's on the field, he just makes place.
65:06It's that simple. Yeah. He went from Washington to Michigan state to Alabama.
65:10So he's played in different offenses. I thought he handled himself well.
65:13He had 18 carries for a hundred rushing yards on top of all the receiving work he did.
65:18He's like a very physical underneath middle of the field type of player.
65:22Jacoby Myers and Romeo Dobbs kind of come to mind.
65:25Jalen Polk was like the low end comp for, for Jeremy Bernard.
65:28That's what he was doing in the preseason. He caught plenty of passes like underneath towards the sideline, work over the middle,
65:34shed a tackle, like that type of outlook. I didn't have a lot of that already on the team between Pittman, uh,
65:41their running backs and then they have two tight ends.
65:43So I think it'd be hard to make the math work, uh, as a rookie, but if Pittman or Metcalf goes down,
65:50I think that Jeremy Bernard would be in two wide receiver sets.
65:53And at that point you could, you can dream of something.
65:56Um, I think Roman Wilson's not, I wouldn't even be surprised if Jeremy Bernard's out there ahead of Roman Wilson in week
66:02one, like Roman Wilson, I don't think like was fully understand the playbook last year.
66:07And I'm sure Rogers would rather give Jeremy a chance than Roman Wilson.
66:10Eli Stowers is next drafted out of Vanderbilt to be a, I guess, receiving mismatch tight end.
66:15He's an athletic freak, uh, had a bunch of production last season.
66:19Um, it seems like he's at zero production in the preseason to the point where beat writers, like some of my buddies
66:25there are mentioning that they might even bring in Zach Ertz to be the tied into on the scene behind Dallas Goddard.
66:31So Eli Stowers among every name that we've talked about so far might have the most difficult path of getting on the field right now.
66:38Yeah. My fears just come in true for Stowers.
66:41I was just a lot lower on Stowers than everyone else.
66:44I thought Mike is sick. He was the fair comp, but it took some time for get sick to have some of his best moments.
66:51I just thought that he had no chance as a blocker in college.
66:55And then the preseason table was like equally as bad.
66:57Um, yeah, you have to block to get the rock.
67:00He's, he's still a slot wide receiver to me.
67:03Like I think his best path forward is like try to be Mark, uh, Marquise Colson.
67:07Uh, I don't know, man, I would guess this would be a red shirt year for Eli Stowers.
67:12Yeah. Which is tough. Cause I believe he's also an older prospect if memory serves correctly.
67:17Well, he started off as a dang quarterback. So he, this is a lot, this is a, we're asking him to do a lot.
67:24On that note, number 20, I just have written down all of the blocking tight ends.
67:28Cause they were all drafted in round two and round three.
67:31So that's Bor Kercher of the Jaguars, uh, Klein of the Texans.
67:35Claire of, he's not really a receiving guy, but he's tied in four on the Rams right now.
67:40Sam Rausch of the Chicago bears, Oscar Delp of the New Orleans Saints and Wills Kazmarek of the Miami Dolphins.
67:46If you had to pick one of these names to be fancy relevant this year, who would it be?
67:51Delp. Something happens to Juwan Johnson. They need somebody to just do yards after they catch stuff.
67:56He was my highest graded out of that bunch.
67:58Uh, the other guys was like too buried in the depth charts or like they're just too like in their own role.
68:04Um, so it would be Delp for me, but there's Raritan was not in that group.
68:09Uh, Eli Raritan would be the real answer. I have him on the list.
68:13Okay, good. Don't worry. We can talk about Eli Raritan now.
68:16That's fine. Um, he didn't play in the final preseason game along with the other starters on the Patriots, which is a great sign.
68:23Um, I've been shocked in, I guess now the one season that, Josh McDaniels has been back in new England and now
68:29we're in off season two, that he didn't make more of an emphasis to invest in the tight end position.
68:35And I have stood next to Josh McDaniels where he circumvents the draft board and he's like, no, actually we're going to
68:41take X, Y, Z and screw your draft board.
68:44Um, yep. So yeah, Eli Raritan is going to be out there in two tight end sets.
68:48And, uh, Hayden, if there's a chance of Hunter Henry missing time at all this season, which we don't want to happen,
68:55but if it does, Eli Raritan might be ranked as a top 15 tight end weekly.
68:59I see the same exact way. Uh, he's going to be out there.
69:03I think in the two tight end stuff right away.
69:06Uh, I remember watching him against Ruben Bain and a key message are both, uh, first round edge rushers, uh, for one-on-one
69:12blocks, not like combination blocks, like literally just one-on-one blocks.
69:15And he was handling himself very well. So I think the blocking stuff is going to be a plus with Raritan.
69:21He tore his ACL twice. So it took a little bit for his like receiving production to, to kind of ramp up as a prospect.
69:28Um, but I thought that whenever he was targeted, he moved really well, six foot six, 245 pounds.
69:33He's a big fella, 77th percentile, 40, 78th percentile jumps, huge hands, 11 inch hands on top of that.
69:38Um, I think in dynasty drafts, like this is the guy to circle.
69:42Like when you ran out of names, Eli Raritan is the guy that you want to be drafting.
69:47And I think there's hopefully dynasty drafts are over by now.
69:50There are people, I mean, we were just in a dynasty draft, uh, this week.
69:54That's true. That, that, yeah. Anyways, uh, Carson Beck is next on this list.
69:58They have a week 14 by what week do you expect Carson Beck to play for the Arizona Cardinals?
70:04I'm going to guess it's going to take a little bit of time.
70:07Um, yeah, I mean, the Cardinals, it is, it is, uh, like if they are Owen six, Owen seven, I think we'll
70:14already get some calls for Carson Beck to be out there.
70:17Unfortunately, do you think he's going to leap over Gardner Minshew right away?
70:20Even if like for a couple of games, like do you think it'll be a Gardner Minshew two game period period in there too?
70:27Like who knows? Yeah, maybe one or two, but yeah, I mean, I think it's fair to say that all three Cardinals
70:33quarterbacks are going to start games this year. Yeah.
70:36Uh, I didn't like Carson Beck's film. I thought he was, he really reminded me of the broken down version of Carson
70:42Wentz where he's like a big guy, not moving that well, kind of just launching grenades over the middle.
70:48Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. Was his preseason tape better than his college tape?
70:52Uh, I guess, but it's like, it's just so hard to like, I mean, he's talking about like third stringers and whatnot.
70:59Um, yeah. Antonio Williams is up next, the receiver for the commanders.
71:02Um, there's one of those players. Um, there's one of those players that was Tyler Boyd ish, maybe Tyler Boyd light, 85%
71:08of Tyler Boyd at Clemson where in your head, when they drafted him and they only had Terry McLaurin at wide receiver,
71:15you're like, okay, if he has the perfect camp, perfect off season, and somehow, some way lines up as the wide receiver
71:21too, he's just going to be productive. Um, now that's not the case.
71:24We know that they've added Stefan Diggs and he's running behind Traylon Burks on top of it, but ESPN's John Kine believes
71:31rookie will quote play early for the commanders this season.
71:33But at the same time, again, it's Terry and then it's trail on the outside as digs on the inside.
71:39And they also have Chegg. So I'm not exactly sure how Antonio Williams is going to get in the field.
71:45Yeah. I, I'm selling that he's going to play a bunch.
71:48Uh, digs is going to be the slot and three wide receiver sets is what they showed in the preseason.
71:54That's what he's, he was last year as well.
71:56Um, and with the Texans. So yeah, I thought that there was like a lack of suddenness to Antonio Williams game and that he would do everything else.
72:04Right. But I just thought that his size to athleticism ratio just made it hard for me to like see like a real NFL role.
72:11I thought he's like a fringe starter in the slot.
72:14Like Jalen Naylor was somebody that I confident to, uh, uh, Khalil Shakir was like his upside comp.
72:19I just think that Shakir is just like a little bit more graceful in ways.
72:23Antonio Williams isn't. Um, so yeah, we have not heard much of him in camp.
72:28It's been one of like the most quiet camps there is.
72:31And they have other guys, you know, like even Luke McCaffrey and stuff that can get in the way of Antonio Williams.
72:37Malachi Fields was drafted next, um, of the New York giants.
72:40ESPN's Jordan Ronan believes Malachi Fields will all likely start as the Giants number two receiver opposite link neighbors.
72:45Uh, he did the rare change from zero to number 88.
72:49I don't know if you saw like it. I did the opposite direction.
72:52Um, Malachi Fields is, or excuse me, Malachi Fields is massive and did some cool insert block stuff as well.
72:58Uh, had some big downfield catches. Uh, I do wonder if good corners in the NFL are just going to stick to
73:04his hip pocket, but, um, he does offer something different than Malachi Nivers on the field.
73:09That's for sure. I think he's going to be in two wide receiver sets for the giants, uh, very early on.
73:15I think it's gonna be a rotation for them, but it's almost like a, maybe like a version of like the Trey
73:21Harris role where like you're not a full-time player, but in like two wide receiver sets, like you're weirdly out there, uh, for, for plenty of them.
73:28Uh, he reminded me of like Dave Davis, Elika Uminor as a prospect.
73:32Um, it sounds like he's having a bigger impact than like Elika Uminor was in camp.
73:37Uh, and that they've actually really liked him totally different profile versus Darnell Noody and Darius Slayton and those types.
73:42So I think there's going to be a part-time role for him, but the bar to clear versus like those other guys
73:49is very low and Slayton can be moved at any point.
73:52Darnell Noody, these guys like no guaranteed money. So, um, I thought his tape was like interesting.
73:57Uh, he, he had some of the moments where he was actually really fast.
74:00I know that, uh, um, some of the on-field tracking data for him was like really, really positive.
74:06Um, but he was kind of lumbering whenever like he was tasked, like get in and out of his breaks.
74:11It's kind of an interesting player. I have Drew Aller written down of the Pittsburgh Steelers, but I mean, I just can't
74:17see him being a 2027 starting quarterback for as long as Aaron Rogers is a part of this team.
74:23Um, I could envision Pittsburgh Steelers who by the way, have four quarterbacks on their roster right now doing something funky with
74:29Mason Rudolph and only for the majority of the season, having Aaron Rogers, Will Howard and Drew Aller out there.
74:35Yep. That's how I see it. Uh, I think something happened to Rogers.
74:38I think they would want to see Drew Aller the most.
74:42Yeah. Jacoby Lane. Fight on. That's right. Uh, is he the wide receiver two for the Baltimore Ravens?
74:47He's at least the wide receiver three. And I think it's a long season where I think if I had to say,
74:53will he be the wide receiver two at some point for the Ravens?
74:57I would say yes. Uh, and that's all that I care about.
75:00It's like, do you have a pathway to be the top two writers you run your team?
75:05If so, then I can treat you serious redraft.
75:07And I think he easily passes those bars at this point.
75:10And he should be selected ahead of like Zachariah branch or something that's going at the end of Yahoo drafts right now.
75:17Oh yeah. I think ahead of Omar Cooper, Chris Bell, all those guys like, yeah, this guy, it's, it's closer to Denzel
75:23Boston than anybody else we've talked about. Um, he, he is incredible at the catch point.
75:27Like that was his calling card. And if he shows a little bit more explosiveness than what we saw on college tape,
75:34where I thought he was like, very, like he was taking his time out in the route.
75:38I could just never feel if he was like so slow where he can't do it.
75:43Or if he's like trying to do something that nobody else in the league tries to do.
75:48Um, but he did have a good combine. Um, and he's just been dominant and it's the type of wide receiver Lamar has never had.
75:55So I'm very curious to see Jacoby lane and what that means for the Ravens offense.
75:59He's an interesting personality. I've never met him. I just, you know, every single video that the Ravens post, it's interesting where
76:06it's one of those things where things are going well.
76:08It's like, Oh, he's fun. He's loud. He like is doing skits.
76:12And then when it's not going well, I could kind of get a sense that maybe it's like a bit grating, you
76:18know, in a way like, why does this guy have so much energy?
76:22Like we just lost a game. So it's, uh, he's cool though.
76:25I mean, it's, he's a really fun player. His top 10 catches at USC just this past season were the like 10 best of any prospect.
76:33Yeah. Before last season started, Jacoby lane was thought of as the better NFL prospects versus Makai lemon.
76:38Obviously Makai lemon had the crazy season, but the Jacoby lane was like, this is multiple years of him, like really mattering and being involved.
76:45Uh, 21 year old early to Claire four star six foot four, um, caught more touchdown passes than Makai lemon over the last two seasons.
76:52Like there I'm, I'm treating this training camp as like, this was the, there was a boom bus prospects here and he's looking like a boom.
76:59Kalen black 49ers sounds like he's the running back too behind Chris McCaffrey.
77:03Uh, I got to him late in the process, uh, when we were doing our running back rankings and he immediately became
77:09like a top five running back for me. Uh, just because he was clearly the best pass protection back in this class,
77:15uh, bad running back prospect class, but he did something extremely well.
77:19Um, yeah. And it seems like Kyle Shanahan appreciates that about him and actually likes the young back.
77:24They drafted him in the third round. So like in terms of like draft capital, like this is like, uh, we should
77:30treat him serious as like, he has a chance to matter, uh, him and Jordan James still a competition, but I say
77:36that black is definitely in the lead there after what he did in the preseason.
77:41And, uh, they both missed time, but James missed a little bit more time.
77:45Uh, I saw the same pass protection stuff. I had him in the same tier as Katron Allen and Jonah Coleman, like
77:51Jonah Coleman, uh, and Kalen black to me, it's like, it's all, it's all pipes.
77:55It's about the same. So, uh, I think that Kalen black is draftable and the very last rounds of your draft.
78:01If you have CMC and you're very nervous, uh, you can pick up Kalen black.
78:05And I think that he would be a good insurance.
78:08Brennan Thompson of the charters is next. Hayden, we like Brennan Thompson.
78:11He's a fun player in that he's tiny and he's super fast and he does his best to win down the field.
78:18Uh, do you see like a legit pathway for Brennan Thompson to get playing time with the charters?
78:23Of course not. But I will say he was lighting up everybody in the sec, um, as like a boundary player.
78:29That is not a slot player. This is like you're facing press man coverage in the sec.
78:33Everyone knows in the stadium, which route you're running.
78:36And are you going to get open? And guess what?
78:39He just got opened all the time. So 86% of his routes were on the outside career.
78:4418.5 yards per catch. He ran a straight line over and over and over.
78:48But he was dang good at it. He was one of the freaks list guys squatted 405 pounds, bench press 305 pounds, four, two, six 40.
78:55He's 164 pounds, 164 pounds. And he could bench 305 dog.
78:58Yeah. I mean, Mike McDaniel looked at his ratings and just saw strong fast.
79:02And he's like, we're going to draft this guy no matter what, even if he doesn't get in the field at all.
79:08Yeah. It's like John Brown. Hopefully it's going to take a couple of years though.
79:13Two chiefs. Emmitt Johnson, the running back Cyrus Allen, the wide receiver.
79:16I would say with Johnson, even if he's not listed as the running back to, even if he didn't necessarily run as
79:22the running back to, to close out the preseason, he will be the running back to on the team.
79:28I still believe. And it's different than like Mike Washington and the Raiders, for example, like everything that we are hearing about
79:34Ken Walker, the third is that he's a franchise altering player that they're going to give him everything.
79:39And that when he needs a blow, that's when Emmitt Johnson is going to come at least that's my interpretation of it.
79:45People out there might disagree. No, I think, I think he won the RB2 job.
79:49Uh, and then Brashard Smith is like a, you know, a Jarek McKinnon, uh, type of player and that Emmitt Johnson would
79:56be the, the insurance play to Kenneth Walker. That said, Emmitt Johnson, I never really did it for me.
80:01Um, in general, not that that's like what we care about.
80:04Like if he's the RB2 behind Walker, then that's like all you, all he needs, whether he's good or bad.
80:10Um, he was pretty small. I didn't think that he like ran through defenders very much.
80:14Uh, so I thought he's more of a change of pace player, but like they just don't have anybody else to like really threaten Emmitt Johnson.
80:22So, uh, I think I'd rather have Caitlin Black than Emmitt Johnson, but I understand it's like the same, same tier to me.
80:28And then Cyrus Allen, uh, he didn't see a snap until after Rashi Rice, Xavier Worthy and Tyquan Thornton all left the final preseason game.
80:35So, uh, Hayden, despite all of the highlights in man and zone coverage, uh, Cyrus Allen seems to be like the wider
80:42zero four on this team, but, uh, I am leaving the light on.
80:45I really am leaving the light on the season.
80:48Um, leave the light on. That's fine with me.
80:50Um, there's a chance with him. Uh, he was used in preseason more as a slot backup to like Rashi Rice.
80:56Then I get threats for Tyquan Thornton that could change as a season.
81:00Uh, Tyquan Thornton is like a downfield role player and that is not Cyrus Allen's game.
81:04Definitely. So, but like, that's like his easiest way to like get into three wide receivers.
81:09He's not going to steal Rashi Rice or Xavier Worthy's job here.
81:12Um, but if Rashi Rice misses time, then I think you can do a Rashi Rice type of thing with Cyrus Allen if you had to.
81:20There's the other part of this where we know Rashi Rice is bad against man coverage and Cyrus Allen, uh, actually has,
81:26I think some man coverage chops to his game where if opponents just week after week are like, Oh yeah, we're going
81:32to play the chiefs wide receivers at a high rate of man coverage and be able to slow down Xavier Worthy because,
81:38uh, other quarters have in the past and all that stuff.
81:42And like, maybe that's how Cyrus, like, again, it's one of these cases where Patrick Holmes is the quarterback and we don't
81:48get amped to draft any of these pass catchers really that that's what makes me leave the wide on here for Cyrus Allen versus where he was drafted.
81:56Yep. He's a waiver wire guy. Well, he's somebody that I'm willing to track as the season progresses.
82:01I have not drafted him in best ball. Two more quick names versus Nicholas Singleton, who was, I believe a fifth round running back for the Titans.
82:08I legitimately have not heard a single thing about Nicholas Singleton in preseason.
82:12I went back and watched like 36 of his snaps.
82:15Uh, he picked the right hole and then on first contact, he went down consistently.
82:19Just not, it was just not a good prospect in my opinion.
82:23Um, yeah, but people were drafting him ahead of Sean Shribling in their rookie drafts.
82:27I just want to. They were, they were, they definitely were that that did happen.
82:31Uh, he was like a one 10, one 12 for a while.
82:35Crazy. Uh, that's where I think, um, watching the film, you know, helps out.
82:38Seth McGowan is last. And despite him being a seventh round rookie, he has won the backup job for Jonathan Taylor.
82:44Now Hayden, I don't know if we should put Seth McGowan at like the top of, or near the top of the handcuff list.
82:51Cause I think this is one of those cases that if something happens to Jonathan Taylor for an extended period of time,
82:57they're just going to get in the phone and call whatever veteran they think is the least washed.
83:03And here he comes. Yes. Um, McGowan's fascinating. Um, because like 26, he's 26.
83:07I looked this up. He was arrested in May of 2021 on felony charges, including robbery and assault, pled guilty.
83:12He served three months in jail, followed by a year of probation.
83:16Typically someone that goes through that, they do not get any chances in the NFL.
83:20Um, and the fact that he was actually even drafted to one star B2 job, like there's, I think there's more upside
83:26with him because I think he fell in the draft for these type of reasons where like in theory, if he's like
83:32on his best behavior, I think he could outplay this.
83:35It's asking a lot, you know, for, uh, almost nearly undrafted player to, to matter in fantasy though.
83:40I believe he was Mike Washington's juniors teammate at new Mexico state as well.
83:44Yeah. I'm not mistaken. Yeah. I think, I think he was the backfield there.
83:48All right. That does it. That is 32 rookies in the time that you watched this video.
83:53Hopefully you have a good barometer of what to expect now and early in the season and later in the season.
83:59And even in this bad rookie class, I'll say it, um, disappointing, there's going to be one, two, three, four names that
84:05make their mark and are key factors in who wins and loses in your fantasy league.
84:10So hopefully you found them from this video. All right.
84:13Chop, Mosho and weaves. Uh, we're going to be back here with quarterbacks and tight ends to round out the week with our final rankings.
84:20We'll see you next time.
