Player insights

45

Bo Nix

PositiveValue57:31

Bo Nix is a very late-round quarterback option who can be stacked with Jaylen Waddle and Pat Bryant as an affordable, high-upside play.

Insight page

Breece Hall

PositiveValue3:34

Despite a groin injury causing a multi-week absence, the injury is not long-term and he should be ready for the season start. Drafters should capitalize on the current discount, as Hall is occasionally falling to the end of the fourth or early fifth round, allowing for more flexible roster construction.

Insight page

Brock Bowers

NegativeValue87:17

Drafting Brock Bowers in the second round is considered a difficult build that requires immediate follow-up at wide receiver in rounds three and four.

Insight page

Bucky Irving

NegativeUsage77:46

Bucky Irving is viewed as a risky pick due to a committee backfield where Kenneth Gainwell competes for receptions and the goal-line role is uncertain.

Insight page

Chris Godwin

PositiveValue44:37

Chris Godwin is identified as a prime value target in the 6th-7th round range, with Brie Saul projecting him for 85 catches and noting he could become a de facto WR1 if teammates miss time.

Insight page

Chris Olave

PositiveProjection21:52

Olave is solidified as a top-16 overall pick. There is debate regarding his ranking relative to George Pickens and Drake London, but he is generally preferred due to confidence in his quarterback situation compared to London's.

Insight page

Christian Watson

PositiveValue55:34

Christian Watson is a viable fourth-round target to anchor a Packers stack, which can be completed with later-round teammates like Reed, Golden, Kraft, or Jordan Love.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

PositiveUsage25:09

Brie Saul and the panel suggest a slight upgrade for DeAndre Swift following the injury to Kyle Manongi, expecting Swift to see a full workload to start the season; Nelson notes that even with Roshon Johnson in the mix, Swift remains a priority target, with some analysts preferring him over Travis Etienne.

Insight page
PositiveValue84:10

DeAndre Swift is viewed as a strong value pick, especially if drafted in the fifth round as an RB1.

Insight page

David Montgomery

PositiveValue77:33

Brie Saul approves of drafting David Montgomery as a running back option in the middle rounds.

Insight page

De'Von Achane

NegativeUsage29:47

After observing the first preseason game, Brie Saul is reversing a previous fade stance on De'Von Achane, noting his workload looks massive and expressing little concern about him losing goal-line opportunities.

Insight page

Denzel Boston

PositiveValue32:58

Denzel Boston is considered a first-round talent by the panel, who argue that he and Stripling should be moving up draft boards significantly more than they currently are.

Insight page

Deshaun Watson

NegativeProjection50:06

There is a debate regarding Deshaun Watson's impact on tight ends; while some suggest he 'kills' their fantasy value, others argue this was a function of previous personnel availability rather than a systemic issue.

Insight page

Emeka Egbuka

NegativeInjury25:19

Egbuka is dealing with a turf toe injury, which is considered a 'death sentence' for wide receivers. Due to the uncertainty regarding his availability for Week 1, he is currently being faded in drafts, as the risk of drafting an injured player outweighs the potential discount.

Insight page

Emmett Johnson

PositiveDepth Chart31:21

Emmett Johnson has worked himself into the RB2 role in Kansas City, causing his draft stock to rise by approximately three rounds as drafters now view him as a strong handcuff.

Insight page

Evan Engram

PositiveValue91:26

Evan Engram is suggested as a potential late-round value pick based on positive buzz from Broncos games.

Insight page

George Pickens

PositiveProjection80:31

Brie Saul is high on George Pickens, suggesting he has the potential to match CeeDee Lamb's production outside of 2023, noting he is younger and on the rise.

Insight page

Harold Fannin

PositiveValue47:25

Harold Fanning is considered mispriced as a 9th-round pick, with Brie Saul highlighting his productive college career and potential to outperform his current ADP despite the presence of David Njoku.

Insight page
PositiveValue47:37

Harold Fannin is mispriced as a ninth-round pick; he is a beast who should dominate and only get better. Despite concerns about target competition from teammates like Concepcion and Boston, Fannin is projected to receive 90-plus targets regardless of the wide receiver room.

Insight page

Jahmyr Gibbs

PositiveValue76:02

Brie Saul identifies Jahmyr Gibbs as a preferred early-round anchor, recommending a strategy of drafting three wide receivers immediately after selecting him.

Insight page

Jalen Hurts

PositiveValue57:42

Jalen Hurts is considered a value at his current ADP, and can be effectively stacked with Dallas Goedert or Johnny Wilson (Wicks) for a cheap entry into the Eagles' offense.

Insight page

James Conner

NegativeValue75:32

Brie Saul suggests that drafting James Conner and Trey Benson might not be the optimal strategy given the uncertainty surrounding injuries.

Insight page

Jaxon Smith-Njigba

PositiveProjection89:36

Brie Saul is not fading Jaxon Smith-Njigba, expressing confidence that the offensive coordinator will utilize him effectively.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

PositiveProjection7:20

Despite a high ankle sprain, Love remains a target for the second half of the season due to his pass-catching role in an Arizona offense expected to trail frequently. While Tyler Allgeier may still see goal-line work, Love's dynamic talent and potential for high-volume usage in negative game scripts make him a strong value if he falls to the fourth round.

Insight page
NegativeInjury70:58

Jeremiah Love will not require surgery, which is positive news, but his injury status remains a concern for fantasy managers.

Insight page

Jerry Jeudy

PositiveUsage53:21

The speakers suggest that every target directed toward Jerry Jeudy is a gift to the opposing defense, implying his usage should be minimized.

Insight page
NegativeValue91:15

Jerry Jeudy is described as becoming 'undraftable,' with the source preferring Isaiah Bond in drafts.

Insight page

Jonah Coleman

NegativeUsage37:03

Sean Payton indicated that Jonah Coleman was pulled early from preseason action because he had already seen enough of him over the previous three weeks to evaluate his performance.

Insight page

Jordan Love

PositiveValue54:51

Jordan Love is a recommended late-round quarterback target (rounds 13-14) as part of a cheap Packers stack, as he plays in an offense expected to put up heavy points.

Insight page

Jordan Mason

PositiveUsage88:45

Jordan Mason is identified as a high-upside target, with reports of him being the talk of camp following a change in the team's run scheme.

Insight page

Jordyn Tyson

NegativeInjury17:35

Following a significant injury, Tyson's draft stock has plummeted. He is now being faded in favor of players like Dontayvion Wicks or Pat Bryant, and should only be considered once he reaches the range of Jacoby Lane or Adonai Mitchell.

Insight page

Josh Jacobs

NegativeInjury41:06

Josh Jacobs is returning to practice, though Brie Saul remains bullish on MarShawn Lloyd, citing the potential for a significant role given Jacobs' heavy workload and injury history.

Insight page

Justin Herbert

PositiveValue56:29

Justin Herbert is recommended as a cheap stack option when paired with Quinton Johnston and Trey Harris, especially if Ladd McConkey is unavailable.

Insight page

Juwan Johnson

PositiveValue20:18

Juwan Johnson has become a strong value pick at his current ADP, which has remained stagnant despite the injury to Jordan Tyson. He is now back in play as a back-end TE1, comparable to the Dallas Goedert range.

Insight page
PositiveValue45:42

Jawan Johnson is expected to rise significantly on draft boards following the injury to Tyson.

Insight page

Keaton Mitchell

NegativeUsage31:46

The Chargers resting Keaton Mitchell during the preseason is interpreted as a signal of his standing within the team, with the panel noting that he is being treated like a starter.

Insight page

Ladd McConkey

PositiveRole81:02

Ladd McConkey is highly regarded, with the source noting he was 'born to play' in his current offense.

Insight page

Mike Washington Jr.

PositiveBreakout28:06

Despite Benjamin Albright's projection of a 60-40 backfield split, the panel adamantly disagrees, viewing Mike Washington Jr. as a rising rookie talent whose ADP has climbed from the 16th round to the 11th-13th round range.

Insight page

Omar Cooper Jr.

NegativeValue33:57

Despite being a first-round draft pick, Omar Cooper is falling fast on draft boards, with the panel noting he appears buried behind other receivers on the depth chart.

Insight page

Parker Washington

NegativeUsage34:11

Washington's thesis is based on his performance from Week 8 onwards, where the offense revolved around him in short and intermediate routes. He is viewed as a player who can win in multiple areas of the field.

Insight page

Rico Dowdle

PositiveValue41:50

The panel debates Rico Dowdle's value relative to Jalen Warren, with some arguing Dowdle is undervalued and potentially a better runner, while noting he has the advantage of being the head coach's preferred player.

Insight page

Terry McLaurin

NegativeValue33:42

McLaurin is a fantastic player, but there are concerns regarding the team's offensive line losses and the addition of Stefon Diggs, which may impact his target share. He remains a viable option but is subject to a 'bear case' analysis.

Insight page

Trey Benson

NegativeDepth Chart71:41

Trey Benson is reportedly buried on the depth chart, with reports indicating other unknown players are receiving playing time over him in practice.

Insight page
NegativeDepth Chart75:42

Trey Benson is reportedly buried on the depth chart, with unknown players receiving practice reps over him.

Insight page

Tyler Allgeier

PositiveSleeper11:38

Allgeier is becoming an increasingly attractive pick in the 120-140 ADP range. He is expected to maintain a role as the team's 'hammer' with 10-15 carries per game, and there is potential for the team to utilize both him and Jeremiah Love on the field simultaneously.

0:00Good morning everyone! Hey, it's the preseason, the agony and the ecstasy.
0:04We love to see our favorite players playing with the ones or sitting with the ones depending on the team.
0:11We get to look down the depth chart, mark potential sleepers for in-season pickups, priors are confirmed, priors are destroyed, injuries happen,
0:19they shake up the depth charts and the ADPs.
0:22There's a delicate balance between overreacting and underreacting. And we're here to help you stay firmly grounded.
0:28There's a lot to talk about today, so let's get ourselves into the Empire.
0:33Alright, what's up gentlemen? What's going on guys? Alright boys.
0:36Lots to talk about today. Nothing good. Nothing good?
0:39How are you though Matty? How are you though?
0:42You look like a little sleep deprived, the cigarettes have been flowing, what's going on Matt, you alright?
0:49I've reached my final curtain. Now we're still strong, there's a lot to talk about.
0:54Not optimal news over the last 12 hours though.
0:57At least for me. I was gonna say, just don't tell me you've peaked too early Matt.
1:03I mean, you know, we want to see you kind of continuing to build up until we get to the big weeks here.
1:11I might be singing that song, you know, peanut butter jelly, peanut butter jelly, peanut butter jelly.
1:17I think we all have to remember, we're still almost like a full month for these guys to get healthy.
1:24You know, the season starts a little later. Everybody always thinks, oh, September's right around the corner, but we don't have to get going until September 13th.
1:33You know, for most of these teams. So, you know, they got some three, four weeks here to get healthy.
1:40I know it's a lot of nicks and bruises, nothing really long term other than Jordan Tyson.
1:46So, let's cover it all. Like Dan said, we have a ton to talk about.
1:51Yeah, so let's just start out with those injuries.
1:54You know, basically what we're going to look for is what's the outlook for the player?
2:00What is that doing to how you're taking them in drafts?
2:04And any effects on teammates, how that should affect where to draft them, all that kind of stuff.
2:10So, Chris, why don't you get us going with Brie Saul?
2:14Yeah, Brees Hall, not ideal. When we got the tweet a couple days ago with untouched going down pretty hard with the groin injury.
2:22I know we all started thinking long term, but now the news turns out to be, it just seems like it might be a multiple week injury.
2:32I guess this is what I'm talking about in terms of, hey, we almost have a full month.
2:38You know, let Brie Saul rest up for two, three weeks.
2:42And hopefully he's ready to go when the season starts.
2:45Now, in terms of drafting, if you are in on Brie Saul and you're the guy that's going in and trying to
2:53hit Brie Saul, you know, early fourth round where he's been going, sometimes late third.
2:58I've seen him middle third. These are the days as a drafter, you want to be getting in those draft sheets, draft streets.
3:06Excuse me. Say that three times quick. Get in those draft streets and try and take a little bit of a discount
3:14on Brie Saul for people that are scared. I've seen it the last couple nights.
3:19Brie Saul falling to the end of the fourth round, even one time in the early fifth round.
3:25So I think that's what you're looking for when these news articles pop up and these little injuries of multi-week absences.
3:33Take the advantage if you're still in on Hall.
3:36Don't back out now. Now's the time to go back in and get more shares of Brie's Hall.
3:42And what that does as a drafter is it gives you different looks.
3:46Whereas if a player is living on one side of the board, maybe an early fourth, late third on the left hand side of a board.
3:55If you get a couple days here where he falls to the end of the fourth fifth.
4:01Now you could start putting different combinations together with that player.
4:05You know, maybe you go with a elite back from the back end with a big time receiver and still clip a
4:13Brees Hall as an RB to at that end.
4:16There's different combinations. So when, you know, issues like this arise, that's when I go in and try and get more shares.
4:24There you go. Brees Hall and bubble wrap for the next three weeks sounds pretty good to me.
4:30So, you know, happy, happy to hear that. What anybody else got anything on Brie's or shall we move on?
4:37I think Chris said it all perfectly. Okay, sounds good.
4:40Matt, you want to tackle Jeremiah Love? Yeah, I mean, Jeremiah Love, again, he looked really good.
4:46Why he was out there so much was the big question.
4:50I mean, I always thought he was in the third round.
4:54He was a good price. But like we've talked about on the show and I said Nelson was adamant about it early on.
5:02Round three should basically be yellow. And that was why I wasn't really taking him in round three was if you started
5:10with Gibbs, you want or Bijon, you wanted that benefit of being able to pound yellow.
5:15So it was a little tougher there because you want those two premium receivers.
5:20But when he went to the fourth round, which is where I have most of my Jeremiah Love shares, that to me
5:28was an offer that I couldn't refuse in the fact that the third round, the third round pick.
5:34I mean, excuse me, the third overall pick, the guys were guaranteed $51 million.
5:39I mean, it's basically the owner that stepped in there.
5:42And for me, the whole thesis was this is a guy who was dynamic number one, but he's a pass catcher.
5:50And Arizona will be trailing in every game. They're not favored in any game this year.
5:55So, I mean, he's going to play. And the thesis again is maybe it would take him the first month or so.
6:03So, this is prior to the injury. Now with the injury, it looks even more likely.
6:08But he was like a second half league winner for you with a glorious, and I mean glorious, playoff schedule.
6:15So, I'm still going to buy. But as Chris pointed, you know, now he was going for the most part for the
6:23top five picks, you know, end of the third, early fourth.
6:27He's on the other side of the board probably, you know, if he falls down there.
6:32So, it's a new guy. So, if you started out, hypothetically, C.D.
6:36Lamb and Justin Jefferson, A.J. Brown, Drake London, now you've got a potential huge upside running back there.
6:43So, I mean, I'm still in. I'm going to take a discount.
6:47But, I mean, that's the way I see it.
6:50Fair enough. Anybody else? Anything on Love? Well, my only rebuttal is that I was lukewarm on Love where he was going in drafts.
6:58And I do think that Algier is going to be used in that backfield.
7:03And if it, we don't know for certain, but if it happens where he's the goal line back, and now you're taking potential touchdowns away from Love.
7:13Yeah, he's going to catch receptions. He's probably the third down back.
7:17I just think that it causes for like a messy situation.
7:21So, I need to get that discount. But even with that discount, you know, high ankle sprain, you know, I think it's iffy.
7:29Because we don't, we're not out of the woods.
7:32We don't know for certain that he's going to miss all of camp and all the preseason, and he's going to be back week one.
7:40Like that, that's not a certain. With Brees Hall, the coaches already said, hey, you know, minor, he escaped a serious injury.
7:48He's out two to three weeks. He'll be ready week one.
7:52So, I feel a little more confident in Brees Hall and getting that discount, where as opposed to Love.
7:59But I think it's, I think it's tricky with Love.
8:02Only because he's a special talent, but I just don't think Algiers going away.
8:07That's a great point. I mean, I'll just point to like the, like the Lions backfield with Monty and Gibbs.
8:14You can have running back 13, running back 10.
8:17And I'm not saying like Algiers are going to be running back 13 or 10.
8:22But again, it's just, this team should have taken the guy the Giants took at five.
8:28That's what their desperate need was there. And I just see them getting steamrolled.
8:33But the offense, here's the bullish thing for me.
8:36I think with the new head coach, and you heard Michael Wilson say it.
8:41The offense, it's like everything's being put into place.
8:44They got Bursette. They got, what's his name? The hillbilly guy.
8:48And they got the rookie. So they have three quarterbacks that look pretty competent as well.
8:53So I think there's a lot of outs for this team.
8:57And we saw last year, you know, that garbage time could be great time.
9:02I've, everybody's been shitting on this Cardinals team and offense and all.
9:06They're going to win two games, but, but you know what?
9:10I don't care if they're going to win two games.
9:13I let them fall behind all the game. I'm wondering if, first of all, I'm starting to really warm up more and more to Algier as a pick.
9:23You know, in that 120 to 140 range right there as an RB for just to simply because I think this guy
9:31finds a way to get 10 to 15 carries, 10 to 12 carries a week.
9:36I think they have a plan of maybe having both of these backs on the field at the same time.
9:43Whereas Algier is like the hammer and you could split out Jeremiah love into the slot and play that way.
9:50So, but Nelson's point is dead on with the high ankle sprain.
9:54Usually I hear high ankle sprain and I'm out for the season on you if it happens during draft season, because I
10:02don't mess with high ankle sprains, especially with the running back position.
10:06So, yeah, he may be back week one, but he may be ineffective all year.
10:11Yeah, that could be. And it's kind of for me, as far as, you know, like my mid stakes drafts.
10:18I have a ton of love already. Oh, Dan, you blew a tie.
10:23I know, right? I got, I got a ton of love already.
10:27So I'm going to hold off on him for now.
10:30Wait until I get into more of my high stakes where I'm doing more prime times, more main events.
10:37And then, you know, see how the, how the situation's looking then.
10:41But for right now, if I don't get him in any OCs or anything like that for a little while, I'm okay.
10:49I already got my shares in. And the same kind of goes for me on Jordan Tyson, unfortunately.
10:55I've got, I got a ton of Tyson shares already in and now it does not look good at all.
11:02Bags are packed in. Yeah, bags were packed. You just kept falling in all the drafts I was in.
11:08So, you know, what are you going to do?
11:12Um, I, I can adjust now, but that's the way it is.
11:16Two months. I think, um, really what that does is it, it pushes Tyson down to like, I'm probably not going to
11:23take him until we get down to like Jacoby Lane or 80 Mitchell or something like that.
11:29You know, I'm clearly taking them over those guys, but I'm not going to be taking them over.
11:36Um, you know, some of the guys that are going even just a little bit earlier in drafts.
11:42Um, you know, I'd rather have Don Tavian Wicks.
11:45I'd rather have, uh, you know, Pat Bryant. Um, I'd rather probably even, well, Jalen McMillan is hurt, but you know, guys
11:53like that, I'm, I'm probably just going to take ahead of Jordan Tyson.
11:57And then, uh, once we're down to Lane and 80 Mitchell, all that.
12:02Yeah, I'll go ahead and take him at that point.
12:05But, uh, I don't think he's going to last that long.
12:09Somebody is going to bite the bullet long before then, I think.
12:13And, you know, really, I think it, it just solidifies, uh, Chris Alave.
12:18Juwan Johnson, I think becomes a much stronger pick at ADP.
12:22And the, the interesting thing is, uh, Juwan Johnson's ADP really hasn't moved at all.
12:27So I think he's probably the best value there on that.
12:31What do you guys think? Uh, Juwan Johnson, for sure.
12:34He would have been one of my guys, um, that is the biggest benefit of the Tyson.
12:40I think Juwan Johnson, you can start letting him creep up into that, uh, back end tight end one category here, especially early in the season.
12:49We saw what he could do last year. Uh, he was, you know, getting pushed to the end of draft boards now
12:57as a forgotten guy because of the Tyson, um, signing.
13:00But Juwan Johnson's back in play for me as one of those, um, you know, guys in that Dallas Goddard range.
13:07Does, uh, Alave solidify himself in the back of the second round now?
13:12Back of the second? I would, I would take Alave as early as middle of the second, early second, uh, Matt.
13:19Mm-hmm. So, Alave or Pickens? Mm-hmm. Alave or Pickens?
13:22I'm going Pickens. Alave. Okay. Nelson? Just depends the mood I'm in.
13:27Okay. All right, let's move up a little bit.
13:30Wait, eight o'clock, eight o'clock Pickens, ten o'clock Alave.
13:33One hundred percent. Nelson. Alave or Drake London? Midnight Owl.
13:36Midnight Owl. Yeah. I might go Neighbors, Midnight Owl.
13:39All right, let's move it up a little bit.
13:43Uh, Alave or Drake London? Chris? Oh. Alave. Alave.
13:46Wow. I'm still going to go London. Yeah, I think I'd be going London there, but I, I do think it's close.
13:53I think it's interesting because I think I probably feel better about Alave's quarterback than London.
13:59Well, can I say one thing? I mean, just from the reports from camp, you know, I'm not saying he's having a
14:07terrible but Tyler Shuck, who I did like late as like that quarterback too.
14:11He, he's supposedly not having such a great camp and the backup is actually supposed to be having like a phenomenal camp.
14:19Rattler. Rattler Wilson? Spencer Rattler. Oh, Rattler looks terrible in the preseason, but in the game.
14:25Our preseason game, but all I've saw from camp was he was, you know, playing really good.
14:31And even Zach Wilson was, I, I saw the press conference with him saying how they are, how in this offense, it's
14:38totally different than being with the Jets. Dan, we have Nelson's partner, the Greek chiming in with Alave round one.
14:45Doesn't sound like Nelson's on board. I think he's frozen over there.
14:49He, he, he's scared shitless in the picture right now, reading that.
14:53Maybe Steve, Steve G likes to play his mind games.
14:57I think he wants people to move Alave up to round one.
15:01So, uh, you got to take that with a grain of salt, but I'll, I'll stand on that.
15:07Uh, Hill. I think Alave for now is a top 16 overall pick.
15:12All right. There you go. Mm-hmm. Um, Nelson, how about, uh, your guy, Buka, where you at on him now?
15:19Yeah. So I, I just had this conversation actually.
15:22So I, I was a boot and a book a guy.
15:26Uh, I was taken a Merlian drafts and things change, things evolve.
15:30He's got a, a turf toe injury. And I think I talked about this on our, our last, uh, stream.
15:37I think we were doing a draft at that time.
15:40So the way I look at it is there's a fine line between taking advantage of a player's price.
15:47That's depressed. Like we just talked about, like with Brees Hall and love and taking advantage of them dropping in drafts.
15:54Well, there's that fine line of taking advantage of it and then being night naive and stupid and just keep doubling down
16:02and taking a guy that's literally injured. And we have no idea if he's going to be ready week one.
16:09So I look at it as fantasy football. Football, this is not the scared part in me.
16:15It's just, I'm trying to be logical. Fantasy football is already hard enough that now you're inviting that much risk that you're
16:23taking injured players to begin the season. Not, not for me.
16:26I'm not looking to do that. So even though I'm an Abuka guy, I'm not going to go and double down right
16:34now and take Abuka even when he falls in drafts.
16:37I look at it as we, I need to see if he's going to return to practice in the next couple of weeks.
16:45Because remember, I'm, I'm drafting multiple drafts a day, every day, right until week one of the NFL season.
16:52So I can get back on the Abuka train at, at any point in time.
16:57But right now for me, I'm not, I'm not taking Abuka in drafts.
17:02Now, what Nelson's saying is spot on. Like, listen, you know, it's tough enough to avoid injuries once we get going in week one.
17:10Don't give me an injury coming into the season that I already know the player is hurt or not at 100%.
17:17And we don't know how hurt he is. A turf toe for a wide receiver is a death sentence.
17:24So if that's the actual case, and when I read and I read into this, because I'm an Abuka guy, I'll say that.
17:32I'm going to see multiple specialists. Goodbye. Like for me right now, you won't see me drafting Abuka right now unless it's at a crazy discount.
17:41Now, when you're going to see specialists, that means the first guy told you, yeah, yeah, your toe is fucked up.
17:48So, you know, and how long are you going to be missing?
17:53And that's a great point, Chris, because, you know, the thing is, how many, how many career years start off with a
18:00guy who's in danger of missing with week one?
18:03I mean, it almost never happens. And at the point where Abuka had been going in drafts, I want to be drafting
18:11people who I think at least have a chance at a career year this year.
18:16That's not him anymore. Oh, for me, it's just the simple fact that there's so many receivers I like there where he was going.
18:25So as you guys stated, just go with the, you know, just take somebody else for now.
18:31Yeah. So it's loaded two parts to that. Yeah.
18:34Yeah. You're right, Matt. He always went in that, you know, 20 to 36 range right there.
18:40You know, not 36. Obviously, that's too far. I'm saying in terms of wide receivers that we all love, there's a dozen of them right there.
18:49You could just pass them on to the next guy.
18:52So the question now becomes is what's the right reprice for Abuka?
18:56I would say like, you know, I don't know, maybe three, four turn early fourth.
19:01Three, four. I think I don't got to go later than that.
19:06I mean, are you going to take Terry McLaurin or Abuka?
19:09If I pick it up the three, four turn early fourth, that's going to be a tough decision.
19:16I mean, because you're what if what if though like what we don't know?
19:21What if he's fine for week one? You know, I just that's the one.
19:25We'll still be driving at that point. So here's so.
19:29So, Matty, to my point, all of us here, we're we're drafting right up until week one.
19:35Right. So I like the way I look at it is if he's back to practice, it's like, oh, OK, you know, that sucks.
19:43I could have taken advantage of some round for Abuka or whatever in in a couple of few drafts in August.
19:51But now you can get back on the Abuka train.
19:54I'm just what I'm saying is if you start drafting Abuka right now in the fourth round and everything's OK, you're going
20:02to look great in a couple of weeks. If we get to Saturday in Vegas, think about this feeling.
20:08You're setting lineups. Draft season's over with Adam Schefter comes out with a report.
20:13Abuka not not playing week one. Now, how the heck do you feel?
20:18Yeah, that's a great point. But going back to Dan about Terry McLaurin.
20:22I mean, look, they lost the key piece of that offensive line.
20:26They added digs. You know, they have a very athletic tight end.
20:31No, we see. We should. I'm not saying. But I mean, there's other things that are there.
20:36And I don't think digs is running, you know, 90 percent of the routes.
20:41But but there are other factors that have come into that play, too.
20:46What about Parker Washington, then, if you want to, you know, if you don't like McLaurin?
20:51Yeah. Yeah. It's too early. Wrong day. Wrong day to bring up a Parker.
20:56That's fair. Say Parker Washington's fine. It's whatever. It's just a week.
21:00Let's do the Parker. I want the guy that's going to play.
21:05The reason my whole thesis on Parker Washington was it was from the from the bye week of week eight.
21:12And you saw how the guy, the offense revolved around him.
21:15He's the guy that wins in the short, in the intermediate and can win deep.
21:21So he's getting the easy looks. Of course, McLaurin's great.
21:24He's he's a fantastic player. I like him. I'm not saying I don't like him.
21:29I'm just making cases that I always do a pro and a bull and a bear case, you know?
21:36Right. So that was my bear case. He's the guy that's the deep threat.
21:41He's he's never really been this guy that's getting short.
21:44Give me type of place. That's all. Yeah, I get it.
21:48I'm just saying, you know, if it comes down to it, are you taking Parker Washington or Yeah.
21:54Yeah. This is back to a book a topic.
21:57But I'll just say this last thing on a book a for me right now.
22:03If I'm in a prime time, I'm not pressing a book a online championships on a nightly basis.
22:09You give me a little bit of a discount.
22:12Yeah, I'm willing to roll the dice. That's from a drafting point of view how I'm handling it.
22:18I think that's perfect, Chris. I mean, there's people.
22:21That's the difference between OC prime time. There's a huge difference.
22:25It's like a lottery ticket versus buying a stock.
22:28There you go. And I'll and I'll give you like my point of view as I don't know if you want to
22:36call me the president or vice president of a Buka.
22:40A president. Okay, there you go. So I'm telling you that I'm fading him at this point.
22:45Like for all the paid. He's never making it to the fifth round at that point when the wide receivers are cleaned
22:53up that I like, that's when I would say, you know what, I'm going to gamble on the on this kid in the fifth round.
23:02But other but I know he's not making it there.
23:05I've done a ton of drafts, you know, just yesterday.
23:09He's barely he's barely touching fourth round in draft.
23:12So I look at it as I'm, you know, I'm just fading the guy right now.
23:17And and that's okay. Like I don't need to buy the the discount.
23:22I look at it as like I said, there's a fine line of being stupid and trying to take advantage of a depressed price.
23:30I don't want to fool around with an injured guy.
23:34That's got turf toe. How about this? There's bulls bears and pigs get slaughtered.
23:39Yeah. Yep. The old pigs get fat hogs get slaughtered.
23:42So. All right. We're going to take a quick break.
23:46We'll be right back. The NFFC my favorite high stakes fantasy platform.
23:50Why third round reversal Kentucky Derby draft slot allocation.
23:53So it's a lottery based system where you can put in your preference where you want to draft.
23:59It's full PPR. There's three receivers. It's the best place to play fantasy football, especially for high stakes.
24:05And now they've combined with the FFWC. They have a lot more contests to offer.
24:11In fact, they have a double crown bonus where you can join the NFFC primetime.
24:16And if you win that 300 grand, you can also join the circle world championship.
24:21And that's 200 grand. You win both. You win a million dollars.
24:25So go to play NFFC.com slash profiler and check the show description for a number of promo codes.
24:32You can use first time 100 to get a hundred bucks when you sign up.
24:37But also every time you sign up for a new contest, we give you codes to use to get discounts on those entry fees as well.
24:46Thank you to the NFFC. They make our podcast network what it is.
24:50All right. Just one more injury I want to hit real quick.
24:54We didn't have it on the show sheet, but I think it's a good one.
25:00Cal Manongi. Several weeks. Oh, it's back. Dan, it's back.
25:03The Manongi. Oh, I love it. There you go.
25:06You just wanted to say his name. I did.
25:09You're on. You're on. What is this doing to how you feel about DeAndre Swift?
25:15A slight bump. If you were in on Swift already, not much of a change here.
25:20Okay. Nope. Nelson? I agree with you. I think this boosts Swift's.
25:24I think Manongi is definitely a guy that's going to be involved in that offense.
25:30That was the plan. And I think to start the season, I think Swift is going to see a full workload.
25:37Obviously, they still have Roshon Johnson, so he could factor in a little bit.
25:42But I'm a little more bullish on Swift now with that injury.
25:46How much are we talking though, Nelson? I mean, listen, the Manongi, Kyle Manongi, I'll say it.
25:52The way I said it. Dan, you almost got me to change his name up right there.
25:58Shit. It's working. Yeah, it is. See, this is the HAN-ETN thing.
26:02They already said they came out and already said it's a two-week injury.
26:06So, you know, this guy could be full go 100% on opening day as well.
26:12It's not something that's going to linger into the season with extended time or an IR stint for Kyle Manongi.
26:19So my question to Nelson then is, you know, like, listen, we all like Swift.
26:24He was going at a fifth-round price. Is this a full-round upgrade in your opinion or just a slight upgrade?
26:31Well, I mean, if you want to talk about, like, players, like, to take over him, like, I'd rather have him than ETN.
26:39What about Brees Hall right now with the injury?
26:42Does Brees Hall jump him for you? So I would take Swift before I take Brees Hall.
26:48Where did you get that, Chris, that he's only going to be out a couple weeks?
26:53I heard several weeks. Two to four weeks is what I saw.
26:58Two to what? Four, you said? I saw two to four weeks hyperextended knee.
27:02Yeah, I saw two to three weeks. I said two to three weeks.
27:07But again, you know, like you guys are saying, we still have almost a month.
27:12Yeah. Now, granted, he's got to get ramped back up.
27:16So, yes, this maybe lingers into the early season.
27:19I think that's what Nelson's saying is, like, early in the season in September.
27:24This is a full Swift role. So, yeah, I get it from that perspective.
27:29No doubt about it. I think it makes it more interesting if he drops, like, a round or two later so it's falling.
27:37Of course, this is still, you know, a really good run offense.
27:41And something happens to Swift, you've got a great contingent bet on your hands.
27:46Yeah. Yeah. All right. Let's move on. Let's talk about some observations from the preseason games.
27:51Matt, why don't you lead us off? Anything you saw that's noteworthy from the games this past weekend?
27:57Whatever you want to cover. I was going to go with a different player, but I think I got to go with Mike Washington Jr.
28:06because we had Benjamin Albright on the show Sunday night.
28:10And look, Mike Washington Jr., that run was really nice.
28:13The move he made at the second level before he kicked in the speed was great.
28:19Benjamin Albright was saying that he expects a 60-40 split, which I disagree with.
28:24I don't see that happening. I know. I disagree adamantly with that.
28:28Yes, yes. Well, that's why I'm bringing this up because it was on the live stream on Sunday night.
28:34And Benjamin is, you know, a smart guy and stuff.
28:38So, but I look Shanahan's always used like two backs and they, but this is gently, you know, ride, die, all that kind of stuff.
28:46Will Washington be worked in? Of course. I mean, most of these backs have somebody that does come in and place him, but he's also a rookie too.
28:56I don't know how he's, how he does in pass protection.
29:00And we learned last year with Trevion. I don't care how good you are in college.
29:06But he's a guy that's definitely, I brought him up as well because he's jumped up.
29:11He was like a 16th round pick. Now he goes anywhere from like the 11th to the 13th round.
29:18Yeah. You know, you guys see, I see people taking him.
29:22So, I mean, that was probably one of my biggest observations and I just wanted to get that out there.
29:29Like Chris, I disagree with that assessment, but it was a smart guy that said it.
29:34So I thought I'd bring it up. All right.
29:37All right. Um, I mean, I noticed for one that, um, A-chan and, and when I say A-chan, I mean, I mean
29:45the one in Miami, um, his workload is really looking massive.
29:49Um, I had been not full fade, but you know, uh, not very high on A-chan up to this point after seeing
29:56what he did, uh, in that first preseason game, how the offense was working.
30:01Um, I think that might be wrong. I think I probably need to get back in on A-chan a little bit more.
30:09Um, liking what I'm seeing from him, not worried about him really losing goal line work.
30:14I think he can work around the goal line as well.
30:18He's shown he can do that in the past.
30:21Um, you know, obviously Malik Willis being a guy who can steal some goal line looks, but you know, I'm not worried
30:29about like, uh, Jalen Wright or, um, you know, I guess you could possibly worry about Gordon, but he almost seems to
30:37be in the doghouse at this point. So liking what I'm seeing from A-chan.
30:42Okay. All right. Chris, what do you got? Uh, I mean, I think coming out of week one and I don't take much stock into week one preseason.
30:51There was a lot of offenses put on ice, but, uh, you know, we'd be remiss to say that the stripling, uh,
30:59wasn't the guy that was like the star of week one preseason and, uh, drafters, uh, reacted to it in a big way.
31:07These last couple nights, I've seen seventh round stripling eighth round stripling on a nightly basis so far.
31:13So, uh, he jumped off the screen. Uh, I think Emmett Johnson in Kansas city, uh, worked himself into the RB two
31:21role and, um, up the draft board, um, where a lot of people are moving him up about a solid three rounds.
31:29Now he's in one of those like strong handcuff, uh, roles, uh, in drafters minds.
31:34So those two guys, uh, were the first two and then something that didn't, uh, it wasn't so much necessarily a player
31:41that jumped off the screen or, or, you know, anything like that.
31:46But the chargers resting Keith Mitchell to me, um, you know, told me a little bit more of what I wanted to know.
31:54Yeah, for sure. Yeah, for sure. Mm-hmm. Nelson. Yeah.
31:57Well, Nelson, can we go back to stripling for a second?
32:01Look from, from the eye test, he looks like the guy I'm, I'm not really a demo guy, but there was a tweet.
32:09He like either set the record or hasn't been since he had seven receptions, like 63 yards.
32:14And then when they show you the other two receivers that did that San Francisco in the first preseason game, you're like, yeah, but that's.
32:23You know, that just wanted to bring that up.
32:26Yeah. Yeah. I think with stripling it's, it's probably, you know, he's moving up as he should in drafts, but, um, you
32:34know, if I, if I have him on my teams, I'm not necessarily a wild to start him in week one.
32:41Um, you know, uh, I'll, I'll be happy to just let him sit on my bench and, uh, see what he does to start with.
32:50I think I want to, I want to include Denzel Boston in this, but when you put a second round price, like,
32:58you know, a second round, um, next to these receivers, you know, stripling went the first pick of the second round and Boston went a little after that.
33:07I look at these guys as first round wide receivers, the two of them.
33:12I mean, if people had that outlook on these two guys, both of them would have been moving up multiple rounds each.
33:20I think, I just think it's like a mind frame thing with drafters where, oh, he's not a first round talent.
33:27Is this guy going to work out? They're both first round wide receivers here.
33:32You know, it's the same way. Everybody loves Carnell Tate, Jordan Tyson, Casey Concepcion is, is, uh, is coming in hot now, too.
33:40He's a, in the last couple of days, he's making a lot of noise on draft boards.
33:46So, uh, I just think that these two guys should be moving up a little bit more.
33:52Omar Cooper was a first round draft pick and he seems to be falling fast.
33:57Yeah. Well, I mean, I, I think, you know, the NFL, you know, when you, when you start talking to all the
34:05draft people, you know, they'll tell you that basically a late first and early second is basically it's all sort of the same tier.
34:13Um, you know, if you're talking a top 10 or 12 pick that in the first round, that's a, that's a different
34:21tier entirely than the back end of the first round, which kind of bleeds into the, you know, the front end of the second round.
34:29So I, I have always tried to, or not always, but for the past several years, I've tried to, um, you know,
34:37treat those early second rounders pretty much like I would treat, um, you know, that first rounder.
34:43I think the, the, the one psychological difference, um, is if it's, you know, like not that team's first draft pick, like
34:51if they had an early pick in the first round and then early pick in the second round, they might prioritize, you
34:58know, they might think a little bit more of that early pick in the first round, obviously.
35:04Um, you know, some, sometimes those second rounders don't get quite the same opportunities as the late first do.
35:11Uh, but usually it's pretty close. Mm-hmm. All right.
35:14Um, Nelson. Yeah. So my observation is not necessarily about players and the games.
35:19It's my observation is the overreaction to week one of the preseason.
35:23And you're seeing all these people, they're tracking snap counts and, and, and usage and stuff like that.
35:29Uh, my advice to people is as fantasy players is to really, you got to really know how to filter through all
35:37that information because some of it is useless information.
35:40And I look at it as with NFL coaches and teams, like you got to look at it as what are they trying to accomplish in the preseason?
35:50Um, and, uh, it's, it's a vanilla offense that you're running.
35:54Coaches want to see players in certain situations. They want him, them to get a certain amount of carries because they want
36:01to see what they have in this player or whatever.
36:05It's all kind of by design. So I don't think you should be reading too much into it.
36:11Um, it's a very small sample size. And I, I look at it as like, I think we overreact too much, um,
36:19to, to these kind of, uh, you know, preseason games and stuff like that, because what once week one hits when the
36:26lights come on there, the offense, they're going to be running and the players they're going to be putting in place is
36:34not indicative of what we saw like week one of the preseason.
36:38So there's countless examples, you know, through the years where we, we kind of get caught in that and we get trapped into that.
36:46And I just want to give more of a, an advice and in like filter through the information, find out what's useful,
36:54find out what is just noise and, and go from there.
36:58So to jump on Nelson's point, I, uh, Sean Payton, I think said that best.
37:03They asked him why he took Jonah Coleman out so fast.
37:07He said it was the same thing. I saw three weeks for, for the past three weeks.
37:13I seen enough. I didn't need to see anymore.
37:16So you did want to, we've been there for 14 more touches.
37:20Jeremiah love. Well said, crazy, crazy. Yeah. I just think that like when people sit there and start tracking targets and, and,
37:28and stuff like that, and like, you know, this guy caught two passes, uh, you know, Oh no sound the emergency.
37:35You know, this guy, uh, had zero targets or what I think it's, we're doing too much.
37:41I think you, you just have to be careful with that stuff.
37:45And I think that's part of the edge in fantasy football is the guys that can kind of, you know, filter through
37:53a lot of that, uh, information, you know, we'll, we'll do well.
37:57Other guys get caught up in the, in the hype and move players up and, and stuff like that.
38:04So. Yeah. Scott's asking a question. He's asking, would you use targets and route runs?
38:09Here's, here's something that I would say. I don't know.
38:12I Mitchell who, you know, I always talk about, he was in it.
38:17He was the wide receiver too. He was in all those sets.
38:21He, he didn't really do anything, but that to me was something that was a statement right there.
38:27Matt, good job of finding Matt. Good job of finding Scott Kobe's, uh, uh, comment in the 800 index of suspensions comment.
38:35Give it a break, buddy. Relax a little bit.
38:38You're having a conversation with yourself in the comment section.
38:42So we gotta take the foot off the gas a little bit.
38:46Uh, what I can tell you to Matt's point, I it's things like that.
38:51That would be like a takeaway. Okay. Omar Cooper, people are firing him up in, in drafts or whatever.
38:57That is a good indication of guess what Mitchell is ahead of Cooper.
39:02And that's right now that that's probably how it's going to go, uh, so far into the season.
39:08So that would be something that I would look into.
39:11Like that would be something that I could take away and say, okay, you know, Cooper's buried right now.
39:18Um, you know, there's a couple other examples that's not coming to mind right now of like players where you're like, oh,
39:26I like this player, but then you look and you're like, wait a minute.
39:31Uh, Keaton Mitchell rested, you know, didn't, didn't play with the backups.
39:35He was rested with the starters that that could kind of give you some information of how they value Keaton Mitchell.
39:42Right. So things, things like that, but you know, as far as in game and like, you know, Hey, this guy got,
39:50you know, 12 carries or whatever, like, I'm not, not really reading into that.
39:55I think what we're saying is you gotta, you know, whatever you see in the preseason game, you have to take it
40:02into, uh, the background of, you know, whatever drum beat has been going on throughout training camp.
40:08You know, sometimes you, you know, if you just see a one big performance in the preseason, but there's not, you know,
40:16kind of that drum beat behind it of, you know, that, Hey, this player is really turning heads, um, you know, on
40:23a daily basis and practice and things like that.
40:27It may not mean that much, but if you see, you know, and the opposite can be true too.
40:33You might hear about a player who's turning heads and practice all the time.
40:38He gets out there and he gets three chances in a game and that doesn't go his way.
40:44And people are like, ah, he's terrible. And all of a sudden he's surprising people, uh, you know, week one of the
40:52season because they were, they were too focused on these tiny little instances, um, rather than the overall drum beat of what's
41:00been going on for the entire time. Yep. Uh, Josh Jacobs will, uh, return to practice today.
41:06Just want to throw that bit of news that just came out.
41:10So, um, something of relevancy. I'm still bullish on Lloyd though.
41:14I think they really want him to have a role and, you know, maybe the past couple of years of Jacobs, you
41:21know, just all those carries and everything, the injury at the end of the season, had something camp, you know.
41:28Yep. Yep. All right. Plus the legal matters. All right.
41:32What do we got? All right. Let's do, uh, oh, let's, let's talk about some players that are moving up.
41:39Um, underrated player hasn't moved much yet. You think they might be able to move up draft boards soon.
41:45Um, you know, I don't know. I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll throw out a couple.
41:50Um, Rico Dowdle. I'm not sure why he's going so far behind Jalen Warren.
41:55Um, he, he certainly can catch passes. I mean, you know, I think it's kind of yet to be understood which one
42:03of them is going to be the favorite of Aaron Rodgers, which is what, you know, probably what's going to matter more than anything else.
42:11Um, you know, obviously, uh, you know, whoever is the running back has to get sent out on the field for the play.
42:19But, uh, you know, Rogers has a lot of, uh, a lot of clout when it comes to that.
42:26So, well, I, can I just jump in there, Dan?
42:29Yeah. First off, cause I don't understand this backfield and the way, you know, you hear a lot of Rico love.
42:37What did Jalen Warren do last year to not come into this season as the lead back?
42:43And if you listen to Aaron Rogers all last year, he's obsessed in love with Jalen Warren.
42:48Okay. Well, no, last year he was obsessed and in love with, uh, Gainwell.
42:53No, he, he loved Jalen Warren too. I don't know.
42:57I don't remember the comments with Gainwell, but he loved Jalen Warren.
43:01He, he, he had Gainwell back there with him constantly last year.
43:05Sure. Cause he, cause he earned it as a pass catcher, but Jalen Warren was solid all year long.
43:12Uh, so I just don't understand how Rico Dowdle comes into this team and all of a sudden, you know, is looked
43:19at as the lead back over Jalen Warren. I don't know Nelson and Matt, how you guys look.
43:26Hang on. I don't, I don't think he's the lead back.
43:30I didn't say that. Let's, let's, let's, uh, you know, slow that one a little bit.
43:35I just said, I don't see why he's so far behind Warren.
43:39I don't think it's clear that, that Warren is better than Dowdle as an overall running back.
43:45No, I think Warren this year has the Gainwell role of last year, which in fantasy, I really want a third downs or passing downs.
43:54You know, he wants the protection. The guy can't move.
43:57So Dowdle has the head coach advantage there. Bring, you know, he, he, he brought his guy in there.
44:04They have that thing. So I like Warren. I'll tell you straight out just for the pass catching.
44:10The Steelers had what 113, 14 targets to the running backs last year.
44:15Right. But Dowdle also good receiver. Uh, probably a better runner than Warren.
44:19I, I just find it interesting, you know, maybe I'm the only one, I don't know.
44:25I think, but I think Dowdle, uh, could definitely move up draft boards.
44:29Okay. All right, Chris, who you got? Uh, well, I mean, I guess it ties back into what we talked about.
44:37Uh, what Nelson talked about earlier in the show with, um, a back, a Mecca of Buka.
44:43But for me, uh, I've had three prime times so far in the last 10 days.
44:48I'm three for three here on Chris Godwin as my wide receiver for, uh, getting him in that sixth, seventh round range.
44:56Um, you know, it's twofold that a, I already like Chris Godwin as someone that I think could catch 85 balls in this offense, uh, this year.
45:05And if you give him me him, uh, as a wide receiver for, I'm going to take it each time.
45:12Uh, and then, you know, if a book and misses any time, we're looking at a, uh, had a benefit, uh, uh, de facto wide receiver one here.
45:22And now that McMillan's a little banged up, you know, who knows?
45:26So, um, I just think Godwin is a little depressed right now on the board.
45:31I could see him moving up a full round.
45:34Um, and, uh, Dan, you talked about my other guy, uh, Jawan Johnson, I think is going to move up big time,
45:42uh, on draft boards with the Tyson injury. So those are two guys that I think are mispriced on the board.
45:49All right. Nelson, who you got? Yeah. Uh, Chris took mine.
45:53I think Godwin is, uh, is the obvious guy because of the injury you're talking about a guy, even if like a
46:01book is back and he gets off to a slow start.
46:05I think Godwin's going to benefit from that. And, you know, where he's going, I expect like later in the draft season,
46:12as we move along, that things are going to tighten up a little bit and Godwin's going to, he's going to move
46:20up probably in like that fifth round, uh, area.
46:23Cause if you remember it was Jordan Tyson, that was the wide receiver on the rise, right?
46:29Jordan Tyson for the last week and a half before the injury news hit was the wide receiver that was moving from
46:37the sixth end of the sixth to that five, six turn, right?
46:41Right around pick 60 overall. There had to be a name, you know, Josh Downs had his little run in that range of being the hot wide receiver.
46:51Then it was Jordan Tyson. Why once we, the big money is on the line.
46:56Some of these wide receiver names that are going after that last tier in that fourth round, fifth round, someone's going to
47:03start stepping up and moving into that range. Um, those other two are out now for a little bit.
47:10Let's see if Godwin, uh, is the name that moves into that place.
47:15I think you guys nailed it with Godwin there.
47:18Uh, am I up now? Yep. I mean, for me, I'm going to tie it to the Cleveland Browns, Casey Concepcion.
47:25You're seeing him rise, you know, everybody got to see him on display.
47:30He's always had bad quarterbacks and even in college, uh, something that probably held him back a little, but I'm going to
47:37go with one of his teammates and he's not going to be, uh, I mean, Harold Fanning to me really should not be a ninth round pick.
47:47This guy had the greatest FBS season of college football came into the league last year.
47:52Uh, you know, what is he? 21 years old as a baby with a really good tight end in David and Juca on his team, terrible quarterbacks.
48:02It was Gabriel, Shador, and the guy's a monster.
48:05I mean, this is one guy I think he's just been out.
48:09He's been mispriced all summer. And I got him in the ninth round of, uh, prime time, a slow prime last night.
48:16And I, I, I just don't get it. I don't know why he's going behind Kyle pits or, you know, you can make the comparisons.
48:25Um, the lions, you know, that's a really good team with a last place schedule.
48:30So I can understand that, but I just think this kid is, this kid's a beast and he is still going to dominate.
48:38I think he's only going to get better. Fanon, right?
48:42Uh, yeah. Matt. Yeah. You said fans I was talking about.
48:46Yeah. You, you, you froze for a second. So.
48:49Yeah. Yeah. I'm sorry. I froze up over here for a little bit.
48:53Uh, Matt, it's, I'm glad that you brought up fan and because I think the reason why we're seeing fan and not
49:01move up as much as anything is because of people looking at conception and Boston now in this offense that they're bringing in these two young kids.
49:10They're both the beat reporters are, you know, steaming them up and hyping them up each day.
49:16And now it had me even thinking the last couple of days, I'm like, I've been saying for weeks fan is mispriced on the board.
49:25And I'm trying to real, like, I'm trying to see those tight ends, like how I'm going to have them in order and everything.
49:33And yeah, I love fan and too, but maybe there's less targets to go around now because of conception coming in and
49:41being, uh, you know, a PPR wide receiver and Boston looking as good as he, uh, has looked as compared to past
49:49years with what the Browns have to offer in the past game.
49:53I still think fan is probably getting 90 plus targets.
49:56Uh, almost regardless of who the wide receivers are.
49:59I could be wrong there. Um, you know, and, and Scott Coby, uh, says, um, you know, Deshaun Watson kills tight ends.
50:07I, you know, I don't know if that's necessarily true or if that was just a function of who they had available
50:15to him when, uh, you know, when he's been playing in the past.
50:19But I think that Fannin is still going to be a big, big part of this offense, no matter what.
50:26Yeah. I think there's two schools of thought, uh, with, with Fannin.
50:30Uh, one, I don't, I thought I was going to be like full fading Fannin because he was going to go too early, uh, for me.
50:39Ninth round is nice. I, I, I'm okay with that.
50:43Um, at the NFFC. So I look at it as yes, Casey involved.
50:47There's more, there's more weapons in involved in on this team and it's not going to be a top 10, top 15 offense.
50:55I think we can all agree on that, that it's going to be more of a bottom tier type of offense.
51:03So that's the, that's kind of like the, the case, the negative case, uh, of Fannin is that more targets offense is not that great.
51:11Um, so he's going to regress, but then the other thought of it is, well, you know, if the quarterback plays not
51:19that great, they're going to be trailing in games.
51:22That could be more targets in the middle of the field.
51:26Uh, especially their old line. And I don't think it is all that great either on paper.
51:32They're a bottom ranked offense across the board. You know, but they weren't more.
51:37Yeah. So like my opinion of the Cleveland Browns offense is I want nothing to do with Judkins.
51:43And I think Casey and Fannin are reasonable bets.
51:46Yeah. So that's kind of, I mean, I would add, I would add Boston in there cause he's actually falling now with,
51:54with, with the rise of Casey and Dylan Sampson.
51:57And if Munkin is going to use him, like he, and I mean, I really like Munkin being the offensive mind there too.
52:05And I mean that, that, that, that pass catch by Dylan Sampson, it looked like when we were playing video games, we
52:13playing and you get the turbo button. That was, you know, it was pretty nice.
52:18Mm-hmm. It gets fast. They're underrated on the board in my opinion.
52:22Mm-hmm. But you're right. Like, look at this division, you know, they got two games versus the bangles, two games versus the Ravens.
52:30How are they going to keep up with these teams?
52:33You know, they're going to be playing from behind.
52:37They're going to be down 17, 20 points in most of their games, you know, Fannin, Casey Concepcion, Boston.
52:43These are cheap. These are cheap picks on the board right now that could get themselves into weeks where they catch seven, eight balls playing from behind.
52:53Well, with Boston, I think he could be a really good red zone, end zone guy.
52:58You know, he's great with the contested cats. That was one of his real big strengths.
53:04Yeah. More so the other two. You know, Casey Concepcion is that middle of the field, you know, player that could catch seven balls, Fannin, same thing.
53:13Boston's the outside guy, the big body. Yeah. Well, hopefully they realize that every target by Jerry Judy is just a gift
53:21to the opposing defense and they figure out a way to minimize that.
53:25So, let's move on. This is a topic that Chris came up with when we were talking about the show sheet, what we talk about.
53:34I thought it was a really good one. Bring your own definition to this, but curious which teammates you guys think we
53:42can get for cheaply and why it's a good idea.
53:45In other words, your favorite cheap stacks. Chris, your idea.
53:49So lead us off. Yeah, Dan. Cheap stacks. You know, it's something that we all try and do at the top of the board.
53:57Right. And straight through is get our, you know, big time wide receiver stacked up with a quarterback, whether it's like a
54:05lamb and a deck and on and on and on.
54:08But I've been noticing that there's the secondary stacks that we're always interested in every draft season and trying to see which
54:16ones, you know, are the easiest to get and put together with like little, you know, with very little ease.
54:23For me, I've been having it happen a lot in drafts last couple of weeks is, you know, a secondary Packers stack.
54:30And that's really with getting either read or golden in that seventh, eighth round range or Tucker craft or both a combination
54:38of craft as your tight end with Jaden read or craft with Matthew golden.
54:43And then coming back and like rounds 13 and 14, where no one's really on top of or in love with getting
54:51Jordan love and putting him as your quarterback to, you know, it's an offense that I think a lot of us like that.
54:59I think we'll put up some, you know, heavy fantasy points on a weekly basis.
55:04Their defense is subpar and it doesn't need to be your main stack or, you know, it could if you know, you,
55:11you run out at the quarterback position and Jordan love is your one in a combination.
55:17And you just, you know, mix and match each week.
55:20But to, to not have to pay a top six round price and put together a three person stack with the names I mentioned.
55:29And even with Watson, I see a lot of people doing it as well.
55:34You could get Christian Watson in the fourth round, come back and hit either read or golden or craft, and then finish it off with Jordan love.
55:43And there's some weeks where, you know, they play a team like the bears or the lions and you roll out your,
55:51your Jordan love, Tucker craft, Christian Watson stack. And, and it cashes in.
55:55There you go. And you've been, uh, you, you've been, uh, agreed with by the Duke.
56:01So, Oh, the Duke, the Duke of Earl. Yeah.
56:04Duke. Thanks for taking time off of your Twitter wars.
56:07Your, uh, to come in. Who knew Duke was going to be in Twitter beefs?
56:13Oh man. Gotta love it. Shout out Duke. Shout out to the Greek.
56:17There's a new one every day. Shout out to the Greek.
56:21Nelson, what do you, what do you got for a stack?
56:25I mean, I, I don't have too many favorite, like cheap stacks.
56:29Um, I would probably, the one that comes to mind that I, I've done is probably Justin Herbert with, uh, QJ and Trey Harris.
56:37Um, and you know, just kind of when McConkie goes, you know, early third round or something like that, and you can't get them.
56:46Um, I think, uh, Quinton Johnson with Trey Harris, Herbert still goes at a fair price.
56:51Um, that would probably be my like favorite cheap stack.
56:55Okay. I mean, for me, if you're really, really talking cheap, I really don't want to, you know, you could do like
57:02Tennessee or Arizona, but what's actually like, like affordable, uh, especially, well, he went back to practice yesterday, but the Denver Broncos,
57:10if you wanted to do that, you know, you could get Waddle in the fourth round the past week, he was dropping into there in, in some spots.
57:20And then you can go with a Sutton or Pat Bryant, you know, you, if RJ Harvey was your flavor or, you
57:27know, so, and Bo Nix goes so late. Yeah.
57:31Waddle, Pat Bryant, Bo Nix is, is a cheap one on a good team.
57:35Yeah. I, I really like, uh, Jalen Hurts. Uh, and then you can pair him up with Goddard or Wicks.
57:42Um, wait, I mean, Hurts is going, I think really late for a quarterback and, you know, Goddard kind of goes pretty quickly after him.
57:51So you can double tap there with Hurts and Goddard and then come back and get Wicks later.
57:57Um, cheap way to get in on the Philly.
58:00That's solid Dan. Yeah. That's, that's a solid three, three man stack right there on a, on a good offense.
58:07So that's a fun one. Um, and then one other, I just wanted to mention, um, I think it's fun to put,
58:15uh, Kalen Black and Jordan James together. A lot of times you can catch them in the, you know, 17th, 18th, 19th round.
58:23Um, just in case a CMC thing is anything.
58:26Um, if you get doubled up on both of those guys, I think that could probably do pretty well for you.
58:33Yep. All right. Um, we're going to take a quick break here.
58:38We will be right back. And we're back. Oh, Nelson.
58:41Was that good timing again? That was good. You were a little bit early, but, uh, you know, I, I, I understand the eagerness.
58:49I mean, you know, all right. So, um, really last, last main segment here.
58:54Um, we'll, we'll quickly, and I want to kind of fold in our draft board observations with us.
59:01Um, you know, we'll break down a prime time drafting and put it up on the screen here.
59:07Um, and you know, so we can talk about this in general.
59:11If you have any observations of things you've been seeing over the past week and drafts that you want to drop in there as well.
59:20Um, you know, feel free to do that, but just, you know, any, anything you're seeing here, Nelson, this was your board.
59:27So why don't you, uh, kind of get us started on, on the board, what you're seeing, uh, anything you want to, you know, get us going with.
59:37Uh, give me one second, Dan. Cause I, I had, I had the other night.
59:42Were we both in this draft Nelson? That's what I'm so they're all running together.
59:48I'm trying to see. Uh, in other words, maybe.
59:51Yeah. So the board I had up, uh, Dan, that you sent, uh, yesterday is different from this.
59:57Oh, is this, is this the wrong one here?
60:00Uh, yeah, it is actually Dan. All right. Yeah.
60:03This isn't the, this isn't the right board. That's not the right one.
60:08That's correct. Okay. I'll, I'll find the right one.
60:11Hang on. In the meantime, in the meantime, while Dan, um, does that, this is one of the things I wanted to
60:19talk about as well as obviously the, the draft board, I think this past week has trained changed as much as it
60:26has at any point, all of draft season, obviously the injuries, uh, have played a factor, but I'm really not talking here
60:34in terms of early in the, in, on the board.
60:37I'm not talking like the first three, four or five rounds.
60:41We all know it's basically the same structure right now, right?
60:45The first two rounds are going the same way.
60:48The third round is all yellow. The fifth round is all green.
60:52Quarterbacks are still going in the same place. They are my biggest observation.
60:57And I wanted to ask you guys, if you guys are noticing it is about a month ago when I came into
61:04draft season, the board as a whole, I couldn't really find a lot of, uh, serviceable wide receivers after pick 100.
61:12Okay. And I thought there was more running back talent in depth after pick 100 than there was wide receiver.
61:19Now I feel like it's completely flipped. Okay. And I feel like the running backs, the secondary, uh, you know, the, the
61:26running back handcuffs are being moved up probably because the running backs in that sixth, seventh, eighth round range are moving up.
61:34Okay. So people are trying to get their RB threes and fours quicker.
61:38And what that's doing is it's allowing people to go and capitalize on these wide receivers after pick one 20, just because
61:46there's been so many that have come into, uh, you know, the, the scene, the, the draft scene.
61:52And, you know, you talk about Pat Bryant, you talk about Malik Washington and Caleb Douglas.
61:58Now Trey Harris is a hot name. Uh, the, the Raiders receivers, Jalen Naylor and Trey Tucker, Adonai Mitchell, McMillan, Wicks, Cyrus
62:06Allen is, is coming to our lives and Jacoby Lane.
62:09These are like a dozen names and I'm sure I'm missing a couple others.
62:14There's 12 to 15 wide receivers. Now that people are in on and drafting here is their wide receiver five, six, and seven year after pick one 20.
62:24So what I'm finding on a nightly basis is that these wide receivers are available after round 12 and the running back,
62:31uh, rooms are, are drying up a lot quicker.
62:34So if you don't have your RB three and four before you get to like pick one 10, one 20, you're looking at shit.
62:43So I just wanted to make that my observation really on how I'm feeling in draft rooms lately and see if you
62:50guys are noticing it the same Nelson and Matt you're drafting on a nightly basis, Dan.
62:56Sure. You are as well, but that's my full observation on drafts recently.
63:01Your thoughts. I think you nailed that. That was a great Popal passage.
63:05I mean, I, I like those guys as my five, six, seven, uh, type of wide receivers, but it still comes down
63:13to like, my observation is yes, everyone's into those guys.
63:16There's some hype guys. There could be, you know, where there's smoke, there's fire with a couple of these guys that actually
63:24might be valuable and relevant at when the season, uh, starts.
63:28But I still think that what, like what I'm seeing is that the wide receivers are starting to creep up.
63:35And again, this is not me trying to be stubborn and in, uh, you know, saying my prediction from a couple of
63:42weeks ago that receivers were going to move up as the draft season goes on.
63:48It's just an observation that I'm, I am noticing is that the number one receivers, number two receivers on teams have, have moved up.
63:56And there's been a couple of drafts that I've been in where like the three, four turn or the four or five
64:04turn is like wiped out with the wide receiver.
64:07It gets, it gets ugly quick, um, at wide receiver.
64:10So that's kind of one of my observations. I'm noticing the running backs that are like clear, like starters, even if they're
64:18in a somewhat of a committee, they're the clear, like starters on their teams are like falling to like the fifth round.
64:25Sometimes they leak into the sixth round of drafts.
64:29Yeah. I think that's a fair observation. And the way that I look at it is, you know, if you fall behind
64:36at wide receiver, you have a much, much harder time catching up.
64:40Uh, then you do it running back at running back.
64:44You can still, you know, and even he's moved up a little bit, but you can get a Jordan Mason in the eighth round.
64:52I mean, you can get a, you know, if you, if you need to, you can get an Aaron Jones in the
65:0011th round just to get you off to, you know, a good two, three first weeks while somebody else, uh, you know, ramps up.
65:08There's, there are ways that you can play the running back room that are a lot easier to, to deal with those
65:16kind of mid to late round picks than there are the wide receivers.
65:20Because, you know, like Nelson said, if you're looking at, uh, you know, somebody in the, you know, after pick one 20
65:28as your, your wide receiver for, you're probably in trouble.
65:32No, I think, but yes, I hear what you're saying, Dan, but I'm thinking more like, um, you know, you could build
65:39your wide receiver room early with your main guys.
65:42It just used to be, it used to be like a ghost town to complete your wide receiver room after round 10, you know?
65:51And, and now you're starting to add all these names as your wide receiver five, six, seven.
65:57And I wonder if it's just in people drafters minds that, Hey, I don't need to pound four in a row early
66:04because I could get two or three early. I can hit my running backs and I like some of these names and
66:12I could start putting them in my, my team in 10, 11, 12, where people used to say, Oh my God, I
66:20better get my five wide receivers in the first eight rounds.
66:23Cause there's dog shit after round 10, but now there's names coming into the board, you know, like these, all these guys
66:31names that I just mentioned were barely on the radar a month ago in terms of like hot names that were being drafted a lot.
66:40Um, so that's just my picture is just getting more clear, right?
66:44As training camp goes on, we're getting more information and we're, we're seeing like a guy like Pat Bryant, right?
66:51Um, not really a target, uh, for most people.
66:54Um, even like late in drafts, uh, he's getting a lot of training camp for hospitality, except for Paul.
67:01So he's getting a lot of hype and people are looking at it like, you know, okay, we're, we're going to move them up.
67:09I still look at Pat Bryant as a guy that I don't think he's playable, but if I can get him as like my.
67:17Sixth wide receiver on a team, I look at it as he's one waddle or Sutton, uh, injury away from being very relevant.
67:25And so that's, it's kind of like gathering handcuffed running backs.
67:29He's a, he's a handcuffed wide receiver kind of where it's like, okay.
67:34Yeah. Yeah. Well, it's, it's, it's, it's a, what's your point with my team six and seven.
67:40Okay. There's a couple of teams that went heavy on running backs early and you kind of see where they're at on wide receivers.
67:48You know, this to me kind of illustrates Nelson's point.
67:51You got JSN Sutton, Metcalf, Pittman on team six, you know, through eight rounds.
67:56I mean, that's an, that's an okay, uh, four wide receivers and they got four good running backs.
68:02But then team seven, they go triple running back.
68:06And that's Parker Washington, um, Brian Thomas, DeJuan Stribbling and Alec Pierce, you know.
68:10This might be Liam Cullen, uh, drafted team seven.
68:14I would rather have team seven receivers than team six.
68:17What's that? I'd rather have team sevens receivers, you know, after like JSN, you know, that's the, that's the big difference there.
68:25Yeah. But the point is, you know, you're, you're kind of relying on Stribbling and Pierce, you know, pretty much right off the bat.
68:33You're relying on Metcalf and Pittman on the other team right off the bat.
68:38Um, you know. Yeah. Personally, I wouldn't want it.
68:41I wouldn't want to go either way. I think in a three wide receiver, you got to start.
68:47Back to Chris's point real quick about the running backs jumping up.
68:52I think that was just all about what we saw this weekend.
68:56You saw Mike Washington Jr. You saw Sampson, Emmitt, uh, what's his name?
69:00Johnson. Uh, so even Jonah Coleman, all these guys moved up.
69:04Everybody got to see them with their eyes. They all look good.
69:08The coaches, whatever they said. So that was the big move this weekend and the reason why.
69:14Yeah. All right, Dan, we want to tackle this board or, uh.
69:18Yeah. And to your point, Chris, that's what's pushing some of those wide receivers down a little bit, too.
69:25Because, you know, we got the Mike Washingtons moving up from around, you know, 15, 16 up to around 12.
69:32Um, you know. So it's going to be pushing some of those receivers that you like, uh, pass pick 120 even down a little bit further.
69:41So you can grab a couple of them. Yeah, let's, uh, so let's start out, uh, Chris, you want to do team one there?
69:49Uh, team one. Um, you know, structurally, I'm fine with it.
69:53Um, you know, he gets the bad news with Brees Hall at the turn.
69:58But, uh, you know, you come through seven rounds and you have, uh, four receivers and three running backs.
70:05I like that, you know, depending on the, uh, the combination.
70:08I'm not going to, again, judge based on players.
70:11Some of these players I'm in on. Some of them I'm not.
70:16But, you know, you get your seven skill players out of the way and then you hit on a top five tight
70:23end and a solid quarterback, um, you know, at the turn.
70:27Uh, no issues with, uh, with that. He's, you know, going with Quinchon Junkins probably as his flex player to start the year off.
70:35And he just needs either QJ or Wondell to, uh, be a solid wide receiver three, uh, to start.
70:42So, um, he's got some depth. We can't really, uh, pick too much apart here.
70:47We got an injury update, which scares the hell out of me.
70:51I didn't know it. I didn't realize it was that bad.
70:55Uh, Mike LaFleur confirmed Jeremiah Love won't need surgery.
70:58Won't need surgery. Yeah. Which is good, but. Yeah.
71:02That's not what you want to hear. Yeah. Yeah.
71:05I mean, I guess. Back to my point. It can't see football is complicated enough when we trying to hit on healthy
71:12players, nevermind, you know, picking injured guys team. You know, we, we just don't know the severity of a lot of these injuries.
71:20And like I said, I'm not trying to be a pussy about it.
71:25I'm just saying that you, you have to be smart when you're going and trying to take, you know, injured guys.
71:32Yeah. Yep. No, maybe James Connor and Trey Benson, uh, won't get that after all.
71:37Maybe there's the black hair. Trey Benson is so Trey Benson.
71:41So buried on the depth chart. I heard that there was guys.
71:45I never even heard of that. We're, uh, getting, uh, playing time over him in practice.
71:51So, well, if, uh, I hear his legs are sticking out of a field in China.
71:57He's so far buried. All right. Uh, yeah. Nelson, why don't you do a team two?
72:02Team two is a Gibbs team. Um, you go three wide receivers.
72:06I do believe that that's my favorite way to build the team.
72:10I'm not saying it's the right way. I'm not saying any other way is wrong, but that's my preferred way is to go.
72:18Once you take B. John or Gibbs, you go three wide.
72:22I don't think you, you, you take a running back.
72:26I don't think you take a tight end. Uh, you got to get the three wide receivers while they're still there.
72:33Right. Comes back with Montgomery. I'm good with that.
72:36The sixth round is where like, again, I, I could be wrong on this, but.
72:41But I'm not into taking a third running back at that point, unless like.
72:46It's a guy that I think is more of a home run.
72:50Bucky could be a home run, but I think right now he's, he's in a tough committee with Gainwell taking receptions away.
72:58We don't know for sure if he's going to be the goal line back.
73:03So I think that's tricky. I would probably have gone wide receiver there and, and felt a little bit better about, uh,
73:11my fourth wide receiver being in the flex, but I like him going and getting two more wide receivers, some high upside guys in Higgins and Reed.
73:20Uh, I don't, I like the double tap of the quarterbacks.
73:24I don't care for Kittle and Kelsey this year.
73:27So I don't really love, uh, that. And then, and then it gets a little crazy.
73:33Um, goes on to take Jawan Johnson, which is like, that's just telling me that you didn't like the Kittle Kelsey picks, uh, to take Jawan.
73:42And then later in the draft in the 19th round, you take Tongis, which I do believe is a good pairing with
73:49Kittle, but not after you have already freaking three tight ends on the team.
73:54So I think the back half of the draft got away from, uh, this, this owner.
74:00That was my observation when looking at this team as well.
74:03Nelson was the tight end position. I really don't have a problem with anything else.
74:09We did. Obviously we, we both feel the same way in terms of you draft Gibbs or Bijan, you start going three or four yellow after that.
74:18Uh, that was my problem with really with team one.
74:22But if you get there in a different way after seven rounds of four receivers and three running backs or five and
74:29two, whatever it is, that's how you get there.
74:32But for me, uh, the Kittle Kelsey combination, that's a lot of age.
74:37Um, and, and that's a lot of question marks early.
74:40So that would be my, uh, drawback on this as well.
74:44Mm-hmm. Uh, I mean, team three real quick. Hey, Nelson, you got the one on Thursday afternoon with the Allen and Theo live stream.
74:53I actually put down in my KDS for the first time this year, three, one, two, and I got three.
74:59So, uh, I will be, I did want another chase team if, if possible here.
75:05So I, I do love to start, you know, Kyron, I can't kill the player because he's been very productive.
75:12The Rams offense to run. My problem is for me with Garrett Wilson, tech, Parker Watson, I'm, I'm going for wide and
75:19just hammering, you know, my, uh, my advantage at wide receiver.
75:23I mean, the other thing I'll say, I love the first three receivers.
75:28I'm very high on all three. I'm in the minority.
75:31Uh, I think Pickens has a chance to just be as good as C.D.
75:36Lamb outside of 2023. Uh, Pickens last seat last year was better than any other year for Lamb.
75:42And a couple of years back in an Arthur Smith season in Pittsburgh, he had a, he had a really good year.
75:50Uh, so I think he's two years younger and he might be the guy on the rise.
75:56I'm not saying I don't like Lamb. I just think it's a lot closer for me than everybody else.
76:02McConkie, as the quote said, he was born to play in this offense.
76:07So I love that start. I don't like the three running backs here because I think you just had too many good wide receivers.
76:15And I'm going to take the gamble that somebody like a Swift or a Monty or even Etienne, Etienne, whoever you want to call them.
76:24I mean, I'm fine with Tootin still. I'm still a Tootin believer.
76:28One of those guys is there in the fifth round for me.
76:32That's why we've been, you know, for two months we've been doing this.
76:37So that's my biggest gripe there. I like the Diggs pick.
76:41You know, I think that was a really good pick.
76:44LaPorter, double it up on Herbert and Prescott. I like that.
76:48I mean, I like a lot of the things.
76:51Even Mikhail Lemon in the 11th round, almost the 12th.
76:55No problem there. Shahid. The Rams defense for that advantage.
76:58McMillan, another guy I like. Look at this guy's last eight games.
77:02I mean, half of them were really, really good.
77:05And, you know, and he also got the Texans kicker, which I like.
77:10You got a, you know, Barner as a free look.
77:13I think this was a really good, and his 20th round pick seems like he is the Giants wide receiver, too.
77:21They were saying that a week or two prior.
77:24I took him in one of my slow primes back then.
77:28And if you saw Sunday, this guy is an end zone weapon.
77:32So, I really like this. I just would have.
77:35That's my critique in the fourth round. I think there were too many good receivers there for me to pass.
77:42Okay. So, I'll jump in real quick because, A, I've been loving from the middle of the board the three receiver, then three running back.
77:51And taking the value at the running back position there.
77:54And then coming back and hitting the receiver. So, I don't have any problem with that build.
78:00What I do have a problem with, and I don't want to contradict myself on saying it's really about structure and not players.
78:08But, in this instance, you know, going with an unproven talent rookie in price as the RB2 and then coming back with Brooks.
78:16To me, I just think you go with Monty there and you put a solid back.
78:22And then when you put a Brooks or a Corum type guys that you kind of feel like, listen, you know, I
78:29want it to play out a little bit. But those are the home run hitters down the road.
78:35I think it's a little unstable to have Price and Brooks as your two and three there.
78:41The Herbert Prescott, yeah, I mean, listen, two good quarterbacks.
78:45But if you're spending up on Herbert, I don't know if you really need to go right back with Dak.
78:52But I understand what he's doing, hooking Herbert up with McConkie and Dak up with Pickens.
78:57But, you know, you could have went in and got something different where you took Prescott in the 10th there.
79:04Well, Chris, one thing I would say, like, again, I would have made that gamble.
79:10For me, that was my argument. I'll make him a gamble that the running back's there.
79:15Say you get Brooks. Say it was Monty and Brooks.
79:19And then in the seventh round, you could most likely a Mason or a Dobbins.
79:24Dobbins went just prior. But one of those two guys has a really good chance that they'll be there.
79:30So that's the way I would look at it, you know, too.
79:35Okay. All right. Team four, I think we can all agree, is a very terribly drafted team.
79:40I don't know what this guy is even thinking.
79:44That's why Dan wants to switch partners for this.
79:47That's why he's out. I got one look at this, and I'm like, I'm out.
79:52No. I like how the team was put together.
79:55This is Nelson's team, just to be clear to all of our listeners.
80:00We had Puka Nakua, Malik Neighbors, Jalen Waddell, and Garrett Wilson to lead it off.
80:05So four strong receivers. And then DeAndre Swift, who's just looking better with the Monunga issues, comes back with Carnell Tate.
80:12I do believe that Nelson has a very soft spot for Tate, but he's been falling here, so why not?
80:19Drake May, that's another Nelson staple, but I love to see it.
80:23Jordan Mason. So now you've got two good running backs.
80:27You come back with Tucker Craft in the ninth round.
80:30Great price on him. And then you're just basically painting it green because you've already painted it yellow.
80:36So, you know, a lot of, you've got your two starting running backs.
80:41So it's basically high upside backups, you know, from here on out.
80:45Lloyd, Bigsby, Spears, Marks, Braylon Allen, Seth McGowan. You know, these are all players that are basically one play away.
80:52Patriots. You went with both Patriots kicker and defense.
80:55Don't mind that at all. Okonkwo. Yeah, he's totally fine there.
80:59And Cam Ward as a second quarterback, you know, waiting on quarterback really late when you have May.
81:05I like how the team is put together. I think this was painted perfectly.
81:10I'm not just saying that Chris Nelson's, you know, my boy and stuff.
81:15No, he's always going to speak the truth. No, we all, I hope we all are.
81:20And, you know, I liked it too. I thought getting Garrett Wilson at a discount in the fourth, you know, made your first four rounds a dream.
81:30Obviously, Swift is one of those backs. If you could clip them in the fifth as your RB1, it makes that build perfect.
81:38Right. Nelson, I'm sure there's other couple other running backs there that you would feel the same about Montgomery.
81:44Montgomery, Scadaboo. It was an, yeah, it was an ownership deal.
81:48You know, I've got plenty of Montgomery. I'm switching over to Swift, you know, moving him up a little bit and get some shares.
81:56Yeah. Yeah. My two questions would be this. Yeah.
82:00Say there's a running back run at the, you know, in the fifth round where usually these drafts get real green in
82:07the fifth round and you miss out on Scadaboo, Swift and Monty where most of the times Swift and Monty don't make
82:15it back to you in that position out of the four hole.
82:19Right. Yep. That's the difference to me when you're building teams like this out of the three, four, five hole with wide receiver heavy.
82:27When you go four wide, this is why I've been a proponent of saying I'm not in love with going four wide this year.
82:36I do love going three wide if I, if I'm a wide receiver heavy build, but I like to start my running back room a little earlier.
82:45Right now, Nelson, this works out for you. I love this team that you drafted.
82:50I was in it obviously. And I'm not just saying that you get Swift.
82:55You had a choice of him and Monty. Right.
82:58But if these guys didn't go and you had to start your running back room with any names after Monty goes off
83:06the board, then I'd be singing a different tune to you.
83:10Okay. So, you know, yeah, it's 50% skill, 50% luck.
83:13You know, I got a counter for that though.
83:16Say it again. I have a counter for that.
83:20Say Swift and Monty aren't there. Yeah. I mean, at least what I would do is go with the upside backs and
83:27then, you know, hit a Mason and, you know, try and build it that way.
83:32You know, I'm going to, you know, Dobbins was gone.
83:36So that kind of sucks. So you got to, you know, be a little more creative.
83:42Well, okay. So, yeah, I get that. You know, you have to draft running backs, Matt.
83:47So, yeah, you start with, you know, then you would go with a Brooks and a Trey Henderson.
83:53But those guys as my RB1, I think changes the look and dynamic of a team like this that Nelson had.
84:01Oh, I understand. Hold on. He still, you come back around.
84:04My question to you was the Tate pick. Now, I'm going to assume that, yeah, you took the value on Tate.
84:12But coming into that pick, you're kind of, you know, you would have probably jumped at Brooks to be your RB2 in that slot right there.
84:21But are you more inclined to jump right back in and get the wide receiver five there when you have a strong
84:28four built in and then go draft a Carnell Tate?
84:32Maybe the running backs that you don't like dry up before you get to that pick.
84:38Maybe a Trey Henderson in that range and then come back knowing you could still probably get a good wide receiver five,
84:45you know, on the turn in rounds, you know, six or seven.
84:49But that's just my two cents there. I don't know how you feel about that, Nelson, if you want to talk about the team in particular.
84:58Yeah, there's two different ways of building it. It depends how you feel about Tate.
85:04If you think that he's just, you know, an average wide receiver and not like going to be a true number one
85:11his rookie year, then you pass on him. And you take probably Tootin or you mix in Henderson for the upside.
85:19You could take Stevenson and have a guy that, you know, should be solid to start the year.
85:25I'm of the opinion. I think Carnell Tate works with Cam Ward very well.
85:30I think he's going to have a lot of big plays this year in that offense.
85:35And it's a strength of mine with the wide receivers.
85:39But once there wasn't, I didn't think like I just don't think that I want to go and take a running back
85:46every single time, especially when there's a receiver like Tate.
85:50So I looked at it as, OK, my strength is wide receivers, but I'm going to keep adding to that room.
85:57I'm going to get a really good number five.
86:00So if there's injuries, neighbors is not out of the woods.
86:04You know, he's a health concern. Waddle was just banged up.
86:08So Puka is currently banged up. So I looked at my wide receivers on paper.
86:13They look, I think, look nasty, you know, for those four wide.
86:17But there's some question marks. So I looked at it as, you know what?
86:22Let me add another wide receiver. And then I'm going to hammer running backs the rest of the way because I am
86:30comfortable punting my RB2, basically, and figuring it out in the later rounds.
86:34Which you almost had to do on a whole here when I looked down the board.
86:40You know, you get after Tate and you solidify your five wide receivers.
86:44Now you can take a break from your wide receivers.
86:48You're probably thinking, all right, no problem. You know, I'm going to come back.
86:53I'm going to get, you know, a solid vet RB2 at, you know, in the seventh there.
86:59But then Drake May falls in your lap. So you're not passing an elite top four quarterback there, right?
87:05But if you don't get Mason to come back to you now, there's the cliff.
87:11You know, I don't know how. The nice thing is he already knows that teams one, two, and three have three running backs in the bag already.
87:20So it makes it a little bit easier to try to push that running back around the corner.
87:26Yeah. Also, you know, I think, you know, Nelson's doing a huge volume.
87:31You know, he's doing a lot of prime time.
87:34So, you know, I don't really have a problem with, you know, taking those four wides and saying, you know what?
87:41This might become a car crash a little bit at running back.
87:45But if it doesn't, then I'm sitting really, really good.
87:49You know, you kind of give the draft a chance to come to you and give you something nice instead of, you
87:56know, taking the, you know, the safer way out.
88:00Which, you know, if I'm doing just one or two prime times, I'm probably going to be more likely to take the safer way out.
88:08But if I'm doing a whole bunch of them, like Nelson, you know, if I've got 30 prime times, yeah, I'm going
88:16to probably try to push the envelope a little bit from time to time.
88:21I think my biggest argument would be, if you don't want to go with the fifth wide receiver, is just the upside
88:28plays and like a Tootin or a Trevion being there and having that RB1s, you know, in Swift.
88:35So, I mean, but I think, you know, it worked out and like I said, I watched.
88:41It worked out perfectly. It worked out beyond perfectly in my opinion.
88:45And then obviously Nelson, you know, he goes and hits all the greens straight down from basically rounds 10 through 16, which is what you're supposed to do.
88:55And, you know, he's got all these lottery tickets willing to come in and be his RB2 if Mason can't hold it down.
89:03You should do the commercial. Fortune favors the bold.
89:06Yeah, there you go. All right. Team 5, Chris.
89:09Team 5, geez, let me see. I like this team.
89:12I remember when I was overlooking it, you know, to get Bowers in there.
89:17The Bowers build is always a little difficult, but he builds it the way I think you need to with if you're
89:25hitting Bowers in round two, you're coming right back at wide receiver in rounds three and four.
89:31And then, you know, he gets his RB1 where he should, in my opinion, in round five.
89:37So you're looking at Bowers in elite wide receiver one, basically.
89:40You come back around, you get ETN as your RB1.
89:44Come back, you get Harrison as your four, which I'm good with.
89:48So I love the first, you know, six rounds here.
89:52I think it's perfectly well built. And then you're going and attacking the green stickers.
89:57And whether you like these names or not, that was the right approach.
90:01He waited and paid the price, I think, at quarterback.
90:05I think he could have maybe jumped up one more round and maybe clipped one of these guys.
90:11But from what I remember, I think quarterback were going pretty heavy in this draft or all went in that section of that eighth, ninth round.
90:20After that, his wide receiver depth isn't that good.
90:23And that's really it. I mean, I don't have any problem with the first 10 rounds build-wise what he did.
90:30I know he's got Baker with the Ibuka hookup.
90:33But no real issues. My big thing that stood out to me, and it's just a personal preference.
90:40He only had the one running back. I would have taken a Mason over Harvey.
90:45Mason's been like the talk of that camp. They changed the whole run scheme.
90:50And then you could possibly get like a White or a Gainwell the following round.
90:55You want to go that way. That's the way I would have looked at it.
91:00But, you know, I do like the Rodriguez and Coleman there as well.
91:05So, you know. He has no Rico Dowdle like he doesn't even exist, I tell you.
91:10No, he's got some names. He's got some options to play at RB2 here for sure.
91:16And this is something I've seen more drafters doing lately, which is doubling up with Harvey and Coleman.
91:22So, that seems to be kind of a high level trend.
91:26It's a bet against JK. Yeah. Yep. Okay. Team 6.
91:29Matt, is that you? I think it is. Okay.
91:32Me. Again, I touched on this earlier. Like JSN, I am not fading JSN.
91:37I think the OC is going to be just fine there.
91:41I think it's a guy that – one thing I love about their head coach, that first season, he fired the OC.
91:49He wasn't getting what he wanted. Obviously, Kubiak was, you know, one of the uber-talented OCs.
91:54But I think he's pretty good with that. But, like I said, it's just – if you go the three running backs
92:02here, it just makes your wide receiver room tough.
92:05I mean, can Sutton, Metcalf, and Pittman produce? Yeah.
92:08I mean, they're not guys that I'm into, so maybe I look at it a little differently here.
92:15I just think if you would have taken a Parker Washington or a Watson there, even if you're, you know – So you're a big JMO guy.
92:24I think it, for me, makes it a lot better on that aspect.
92:28Jake Ferguson, I mean, Dan, you've been shouting from the hilltop, you know, avoid this guy.
92:34He's not the tight end one I want. You know, if he's a tight end two, whatever, you know, you could say that.
92:42This guy's tight end room is from, like, 2020.
92:45The other thing I don't get is he got Dobbins as his fourth running back.
92:50Like, why aren't you hitting a wide receiver instead of Aaron Jones?
92:55That definitely had to be a wide receiver there.
92:58You've made the bet. Like, to me, if you went three running backs, I'm not touching a running back until, you know, past double digits and, you know.
93:07So, I mean, those are the things I had the problems with.
93:12Jerry Judy, to me, seems to be coming undraftable.
93:15I think I'd rather have Isaiah Bond, to be honest with you, than Jerry Judy in a draft.
93:21I think this draft was a real mess, in my opinion.
93:25Really. I'm trying to be structured. I won't be.
93:28That's, I guess, my role on the show here.
93:31I'd be the prick. Yeah, no, structurally, it was a mess.
93:35Age in the – you've got too many outside receivers here.
93:39You've got two Steeler receivers together. Dobbins has a four after you load up on three straight running backs.
93:45You move up Knicks and Jake Ferguson at the quarterback and tight end position, you know, way too much that, you know, you didn't need to.
93:54And then everything else is just uninspiring. So, don't like it.
93:58Don't like it at all. Yeah. I'll say this is best tight end might be Evan Ingram in the 19th from the
94:06buzz we're hearing out of our Broncos game. How about that?
94:10Evan Ingram, TJ Hawkinson, Jake Ferguson. Again, tight end room straight out of – I don't know, 2020 maybe not, but 2023 for sure.
94:18That would be the ideal tight end room then.
94:21I thought I was coming straight out of Compton for a second.
94:25Straight out of Compton. Yeah. All right. Nelson, you got Team 7?
94:29Yeah. So, Team 7 decided to go with the three running back approach.
94:34McCaffrey, Barkley, Henry. You know, players aside because, you know, I have like my opinions on those guys.
94:40I'm not exactly high on them. He then went ahead and took a wide receiver in the fourth and fifth round.
94:48So, here's my opinion. Tootin, he just felt like it was probably too good of a deal to pass up.
94:55It's kind of like with me with Carnell Tate as my fifth wide receiver.
94:59So, who am I to criticize this? But if I'm going to go and build a three running back approach, I'm painting it yellow for a little while.
95:09I'm going to make sure I have good quarterback play.
95:13I'm going to make sure I have good tight end play because you don't want to give away any edges.
95:20But I look at it as like Tootin there as a number four.
95:24You know, fired up Stribbling, Alec Pierce. There's a lot of risk with this team.
95:29So, once he makes the bet on Parker Washington and Brian Thomas, I already know where he's headed with this.
95:36Trevor Lawrence is going to be part of the plan.
95:40But then you add Tootin to it. I don't know.
95:43I don't know. Like, Stribbling, Pierce, he's got to get one of Stribbling, Pierce, Boston, Trey Harris to work out as his wide receiver three.
95:52I think it's a risky team, but I like taking on risk.
95:56So, we don't need to be safe every time.
95:59But this is why if you give me, all right, Nelson, what's my preference here at NFFC?
96:05I hate three running back starts. I just don't like doing it.
96:09I think in that third round, you pick one.
96:12Either you bypass Barkley and you take Olave, Pickens, or Neighbors, or you bypass Henry and you just take a wide receiver
96:20that you feel like you can count as, like, your true number one.
96:25And then you get Tootin in the sixth round to put in your flex.
96:29Listen, I know Henry, you know, he's a monster and everything.
96:33And there could be a potential edge there having him as his flex.
96:38But I think he invited a lot of risk with this team in trying to figure out who his wide receiver three is.
96:46Trying to add Tootin in there to part of the stack, I think, is where he really, really went wrong.
96:53I mean, you know, you can build it the way that he did, but you just can't have that Tootin pick in there.
97:01Just can't be. It's got to be a wide receiver.
97:04Yeah, that doesn't make sense, the Tootin pick. You know, like Nelson said, the three running backs start, I don't, you know,
97:12I hate it because now you took yourself out of the running back.
97:16Anything that falls, that running back, that's a value that you can't take, you can't capitalize on it.
97:23But yet he said to himself, oh, Tootin's here at this price?
97:27I'm taking it. Well, you needed to start your keep hitting the wide receiver room.
97:32He goes with Tootin. That guy sits on his bench.
97:36I don't like this team at all. They passed Godwin downs right there.
97:40Yeah. I mean, you love to face this team in week seven.
97:44This is a gift if you face this team head-to-head in week seven.
97:49So, a lot of issues with this build. Can we say one thing because we really never talked about it?
97:56Like, I don't have a problem with Pierce in the eighth round as his fourth receiver, you know.
98:02But with the Keenan Allen signing, that's been rumored for a long time.
98:06Are we feeling that Pierce is a good chance he's starting on the pup?
98:11I just wanted to bring that up. I think with the Keenan Allen signing, I think there's a good bet that that's what's happening.
98:20Mm-hmm. Yep. Again, I don't mind shooting for the upside, which he did.
98:24Stribbling, Pierce, Winnie's healthy. Denzel Boston, Trey Harris. You're firing.
98:28Like, you're just going upside. Forget about floor. I just wonder with that type of build, Godwin as a floor play and
98:35potential upside play looks a lot better as your wide receiver three.
98:40And then you go from there and just say, you know what?
98:44I got to leave the value alone in Tootin.
98:47I got to get my number three that's rock solid.
98:50And now I've got my Jaguar stack with Godwin.
98:53I think that would have changed the team around.
98:57Yeah. But also, look, we talked about Boston and we all like him.
99:01But he could have got like a Kincaid or a Goddard there.
99:05And I think in the middle to late 10th round, that's tough to pass up to.
99:11Like, if he changes that Godwin pick to at the edge, one of those two tight ends, then this is a really different team.
99:19And starting with the three running backs, I would have probably really liked it.
99:24All right, teammate. I like this build also. We've got C.D.
99:28Lamb, Omari and Hampton, and then follow up with a couple more wide receivers, Devonta Smith, Christian Watson, Tyler Warren, I thought
99:36fit really nicely in with this build, and then comes back with Godwin.
99:40So, you know, basically through six rounds, you're looking at you've got your four wide receivers, you've got a good, strong running
99:48back, and then you've got an elite tight end.
99:51And then he comes back and is able to nab Pollard for his running back two, and then still hit Jackson Lamar
99:58for his quarterback, which, you know, I thought was a really, really nice price on him as well.
100:05And then, you know, and then it's just a matter of, you know, like, man, you've got your core set right there.
100:12It's just a matter of finishing out strong, which I feel like, you know, it's a pretty good job.
100:19You've got Keaton Mitchell, you know, backing up Hampton, you know, or complimenting him.
100:24You've got Tyrone Tracy, Dylan Sampson, Kamani Vidal. Okay, so maybe a little heavy on the charger running backs, but George Helani, Devon Claiborne.
100:32So I really like the running back room that was put together.
100:36I'd maybe gone with one less charger. Tyler Shuck backing up Lamar Jackson.
100:41Then you've got, you know, for your wide receivers five and six, you've got Jordan Addison, Romeo Dobbs.
100:47I think those are really, really solid. So I thought it was a very well-constructed team.
100:53I told Chris my only critique, and it's just a personal preference.
100:57Instead of Paul, and I would have taken a Mason or a Dobbs there as my argument.
101:03Is this Chris's team? Yeah. It is. I was going to wait until you all talked about it.
101:09I figured that you all knew it already. I knew it, Josh.
101:13I was hoping Dan shitted on it. Yeah, but that was my only preference.
101:18Like I said, it's a personal preference. I'm not really big on the Titans this year.
101:24They're a line, and I think Denver's got the best.
101:27And it seems like Minnesota, with the changing of the run scheme, favors him.
101:32That's all. Otherwise, I think he'd be pretty much nailed it.
101:36Yeah, so my opinion is that I'm fine with the Pollard pick because I have a lot of these type of builds.
101:44Hero running back or starting four wide receivers. And you've got to take whatever the draft gives you at the time when
101:51you're at the mercy of the draft a little bit when you build this team this way.
101:57And all the high upside running backs were gone.
102:00So I think there's nothing wrong with taking a number one running back on an offense that's going to be steady.
102:08He's going to be okay. Might not have the greatest ceiling.
102:11But guys like Pollard, Mason, Jalen Warren, Stevenson, those are all guys to me that are just solid guys.
102:18They get me out of the gate, and then I can go to work on the waiver wire, or I might have
102:26a diamond in the rough on my bench if there's an injury or something like that.
102:31So I don't mind what Chris did. He has an edge at tight end.
102:36He's got four really good wide receivers. And then Lamar falls to him in the eighth.
102:42I'm not going to have a ton of Lamar Jackson, but when he falls to the eighth round, I'm going to take him every time.
102:50I've made a rule of that, that otherwise I'm always going to pass him.
102:55I'm going to have zero Lamar. And I'm not okay with that because in the shootout, Lamar Jackson can definitely put up big numbers.
103:04So I'm good with Lamar there. Adds his number five in Addison, and then goes back to work at running back.
103:11I think Dobbs in the 11th round is a great price.
103:15Everything I'm seeing out of Patriots camp is that he's been a monster, and he's developed good chemistry with Drake May.
103:22Um, so his wide receivers are strong. QB and tight end are strong.
103:26Like it, like I think like my situation with my team, we're going to be, we're going to be looking for our RB too.
103:35We're going to be fighting on the waiver wire, uh, you know, for that position.
103:40So I, I like Chris's team. I obviously I was in this draft with him.
103:45So as we're drafting along, I'm watching it develop and I pretty much could like pick every player that Chris took is, is basically where I would go.
103:55So we were in sync in that way. Yeah.
103:58I mean, Nelson, you, you saw the picture. Uh, you said the things that I wanted to explain.
104:04I could take you guys through it real quick.
104:08The mind frame. I know we're up against time, but I knew the Pollard pick would be the one that was discussed
104:15the most on this, uh, on the stream here when breaking down this team.
104:20But like you said, sometimes you got to move a running back up into that position.
104:26This, the running backs were going a little hot and heavy here.
104:30Okay. I come around and you're really between Stevenson, Jalen, Warren, Pollard, Dobbins, Mason to finish off your RB two room.
104:37Now, do I want to pull the trigger on a Tony Pollard right there?
104:42Especially when Drake may, which I handed in your lap or at the time.
104:47Lamar, um, is on the board. Uh, no, I don't, but I see what's happening here.
104:52I say, if I don't pull my, the trigger here on, on my RB two, I'm going to miss out on all
105:00these guys that I just mentioned going forward. I already missed out on Stevenson and Warren.
105:06If those guys are my guys, if I want to make them my RB two on this type of build, um, you know, so I take Pollard there.
105:15I still get lucky somehow with Lamar who Nelson, I think we both have the same outlook on Lamar.
105:22Yes. He's a top four, five fantasy quarterback. You take the advantage at the elite position right there.
105:28The onesie position with Lamar there. That's a no brainer, um, to fall back to me.
105:34I could have easily flipped it and had Lamar there and hope that Pollard landed, but that's an easy flip.
105:41My biggest issue, um, not issue, but, um, um, I think I bled the clock down was, you know, I love Tyler
105:48Warren, you know, um, I could have went Tyler Warren there or taking one of those running backs that felt he fell
105:56to the other side of the board there. And I think ETN Swift, Montgomery, you guys all benefited from, uh, someone like
106:04me and my build passing on Warren. Obviously Warren's going to go in the next couple of picks after that, but looking
106:11back, getting an elite, um, tight end and elite quarterback and still getting my four wide with what I think is a solid five and six.
106:20Uh, I'm happy with it. My RB two will be a, an issue, um, all year long that'll, like you said, Nelson,
106:28uh, will be what we're fighting over on the wire, but this is how I build my teams.
106:34Mostly, you know, uh, there's multiple ways to build them, but I'm comfortable building this way.
106:40It's tough when you get an elite quarterback and tight end both in the top eight rounds, but if they come to
106:48you, you have to pull the trigger on it.
106:51My other issue besides Pollard is I would have liked to have gotten more solid RB three, but at this point I
106:58just commit to, you know, listen, I already have Hampton.
107:02I take Keaton Mitchell, the Vidal pick. I don't have an issue with either Dan, uh, late that late.
107:08Um, I have the whole charge of running back and I believe in, in that offense.
107:14I believe in that run. If you want to use both condoms, go ahead.
107:19Yeah, that's fine. That's fine. But at least I have, you know, my RB one locked in there.
107:25I'm giving you shit. That's it. All right. Let's, uh, Chris, go ahead.
107:30Team nine. Oh, I'm back up here. Uh, gente, Brown, rice, Allen.
107:34Um, man, I'm sorry here. Uh, I remember this guy taking Kincaid and not having a problem with that pick.
107:41Um, because I thought it was a little late.
107:44And I said to myself, it's the same thing I've been preaching is if you feel you have an upside tight end,
107:51like a Kincaid, you could just flex him out.
107:55Uh, he's a little light at wide receiver, but he took the value in Kincaid at this point.
108:01Um, and him and Fannin as a, are a deadly tight end combination.
108:05In my opinion, this year, they both have upside to hit as a top five tight end.
108:11And if they are both on fire, uh, you could flex out Kincaid.
108:16So, um, not really not hating on it. He gets the elite quarterback.
108:20He's got two top 10 tight ends. Um, I'd have to study it a little more, but I don't think anything is glaring.
108:28Maybe something to you guys. Don't think for me after having Jenty and Scatterball, and it's not a bad pick taking Warren there.
108:36I'm, I'm, I'm probably going to lean towards, uh, maybe getting my fourth receiver there.
108:42There are some good ones available, but again, it's not a bad play, you know, taking Warren as your third.
108:49I can't really kill that. I mean, the only pick I don't really like, and that's because I don't believe in Charbonnet coming back.
108:57And I don't think he's coming back till, you know, sometime late in October.
109:02And that's just a hell of a long time to hold somebody.
109:06I'm not somebody I'm drafting. Maybe I'm just dead wrong on that.
109:10I would have rather taken the upside swing on like a Samson there.
109:15But, you know, I don't really have a problem.
109:18I think Concepcion and Coker, again, if I have that wide receiver where he's not Warren, you know.
109:24Chris, I'm curious. When, uh, when it was your turn in the fourth round, you took Watson.
109:30Uh, were you giving any consideration to taking Josh Allen there?
109:34No, because I already have my elite, um, RB there.
109:37And I felt the, the feel of this draft along with many others is, um, you know, when you're on the right
109:45side of the board, you got to get that wide receiver three or else you're in trouble.
109:51And with, you know, uh, only a couple of names left to the right first off Evans and Adams, I'm not high on.
109:59Um, so those are out of the picture for me.
110:02Uh, I made the right move and taking Watson and passing on Josh Allen because the duns a and JMO come off
110:10the board, I would have not been happy at all with my wide receiver three.
110:15Yeah. I think it worked out. I passed Josh Allen.
110:19I was just curious what your mindset was at that point.
110:22Well, there you go. There you have it. That was my mindset.
110:27All right. Uh, who is it? Matt, you're up.
110:30I'm up. Uh, okay. This is the cook team.
110:33Yep. You know, uh, look, but right in the third, I don't have, you know, I don't want to say I have a problem.
110:41I just like to just keep hitting the receivers there.
110:45Uh, but you know, cook Henderson to me is I'm, I'm good with that.
110:50I will rock that or like a cook tooting type of player.
110:54You know, I'm, I'm fine with it. Uh, and then I'm, I might've been a little more aggressive though.
111:00I tried to maybe get that, you know, third, um, even my third running back or I would have, yeah, I, I, I probably would have did that.
111:10Like say where Shakir went, who you had some good names there.
111:14So that would have been tough for me to pass up like a craft there.
111:19I think really would have made this team. I do like Kenny Gainwell.
111:24I, I do think he has a good chance.
111:27I think he really established himself last year. They brought him in here.
111:32They paid him. They seem to really like this guy.
111:35So, I mean, Andrews as a backup, far with that.
111:39He just never hit the, you know, booty was the only wide receiver he touched again.
111:44So, I mean, that was a six, you know, Jalen Hurts.
111:48I mean, Murray, I can't kill you as a backup.
111:51I'm not a Murray guy, but if he's a backup, you got Hurts at a good price.
111:57So, I mean, all in all, you know, I think it's a good team.
112:02I just, he got hurt with the Tyson injury.
112:05Well, actually he, he knew Tyson was hurt at this point, right?
112:10Yeah. So, I mean, Tyson, Shakir there, you know, that's where, you know, for me, things went wrong.
112:16I would have rather had a Diggs, a Stribling, Jaden Higgins, Wandel, any of those four receivers there as my fourth, knowing
112:23the status that it didn't sound good. I mean, it's before we knew it was like a two month thing, but it didn't sound good.
112:32So, any of those four receivers or Jaden Reed, who went in the eighth, I would have definitely smashed.
112:39Sure. Team 11, Nelson. Yeah. So, team 11 goes with Jonathan Taylor, Chase Brown, and it brings up the debate from the
112:46back end in the prime times is what do you do there?
112:51Do you go one and one? Do you go two running backs?
112:55Or do you even go two wide receivers? I think you can do it both ways.
113:00I want to have some different builds. What I liked about what this team did was that in the third round, he took wide receiver.
113:09Fourth round, he comes back around, takes best receiver available as his wide receiver two.
113:14Then the question becomes, do you get nervous and push up a wide receiver as your number three because it looks good on paper, okay?
113:23But it's actually, you know, not that great of a pick.
113:27Or do you go and take the value at running back and put them in your flex spot and now your flex is solidified, okay?
113:35I think that's the thing that people will run into.
113:39And I'm of the belief that this is the way to draft it.
113:43If you're going to go with two running backs on the back end, call it whatever you want.
113:50Like, you're leaning into it, okay? So you take the value at running back, make your flex and your RB1 and RB2
113:57strong, and then you've just got to focus on that wide receiver three.
114:02So he takes Javante Williams. I think in the fifth round is a great price for a guy that's going to be the starting running back.
114:11Even if he's going to regress and Jaden Blue is going to be a little bit involved in the offense, I think
114:19fifth round is a great price for him. He then came back around and he got Michael Wilson, who I think is
114:26like a solid wide receiver three on this type of build.
114:30And then he takes Joe Burrow and he gets a potential edge at quarterback.
114:35I think that's how you build those kind of teams is you don't want to sit there and just hammer wide receiver
114:43and totally forget about the quarterback position necessarily, especially in this format.
114:47The part that I didn't really understand is the next turn he goes Jacoby Myers, Debo, whatever.
114:53Like, take the players that you like. I'm not going to give you shit on him over what my opinion is of the players.
115:01I think the position was the right way to attack it.
115:05I didn't understand the Stafford pick after because when you take Burrow, Drake May, Lamar, we've seen him banged up through the years.
115:13So, like, you want to make sure you have a good QB2 potentially with, like, Lamar.
115:18That's always in the back of my mind. But when I take Josh Allen, Drake May, Burrow, I'm going to wait a
115:26little bit on that second QB2 position. So, he gets Goddard.
115:30I love the deal on Goddard. When I was watching this draft, I was like, oh, he's going to double tap Kincaid Goddard here.
115:38And then, like, that's really nasty at tight end to go with Burrow.
115:43He's got three really good running backs on this team.
115:46Shit, like, he's going to paint it yellow from here on out.
115:50And he just got to make that wide receiver three, you know, work out.
115:55But he might have it in Wilson. So, there was a couple of little things that I think I would have done differently than him.
116:04But overall, I thought it was solid. Yeah. Yeah, the Stafford pick was the one I didn't understand there.
116:11Well, the thing with the Stafford pick is he could have, most likely, like, two rounds later, he's getting a good backup.
116:18Right. Yeah, it was just the wrong pick. Like, that's really all there is to say about it.
116:24But I would put Burrow kind of in with Lamar in the fact that they've missed a couple of seasons in the past few.
116:33You know. But you can't bank on that, Matt.
116:36Oh, no, no, no. But I'm just saying, if you're going to say that about Lamar, you got to say it about Burrow, is my point.
116:45All right. Team 12. We'll try to make this quick.
116:48We're almost at two hours here. I don't know.
116:52We had Drake London, Ken Walker, Nico Collins, Loveland, Mike Evans, then Coram and Stevenson for second and third running backs.
116:59Golden and Worthy for his fourth and fifth wide receivers.
117:02Purdy at quarterback, you know, who matches up with, stacks up with Evans.
117:07All the same, I just I kind of felt like this was a team that was sort of assembled more at random without really.
117:15I don't see the vision here. Maybe you guys do.
117:19Not not crazy about it, but I don't hate it either.
117:23I mean, like, you know, I don't still have like the player names.
117:27Maybe not crazy about them, but that's not what we're saying here.
117:31You know, you still get an elite tight end and three wide receiver ones to start your draft with.
117:38And you have your bell cow. So through five rounds, I got no issue with it at all.
117:44You come back around. You take a running back and Coram and Stevenson combination.
117:49I don't have a problem with that either. You know, week one, probably Ramondre starts as your RB2.
117:55That's solid with Coram waiting in the wings. Golden and Worthy, couple of wide receivers that can hit as your four or five.
118:03I really I mean, it looks weird. I think that's probably the issue.
118:08But at the end of the day, when you put the starting lineup in, you know, it's it's it's OK.
118:15Yeah. Solid. Yeah. I don't really have a problem with it.
118:19Again, you know, you might want to say players here you like or you don't like.
118:24But yeah, it's a little it's it's difficult at the ends, too, because you're you're having to anticipate, you know, the next 20, 20 odd picks.
118:33You know, and and grab the two guys that you think you're going to need and then try to anticipate what the runs are going to be.
118:43What's going to be left coming back to you.
118:46You know, just adds a little bit of a challenge.
118:49Yeah. I think we did, too, Dan. I think we hit two hours.
118:54We have we have just about done that. Yeah, definitely.
118:5790 seconds away. All right. What else can we talk about for 80 seconds?
119:02How's the weather today? The weather is beautiful, isn't it?
119:06Beyond Swahili hot here. Oh, man. Nelson probably has a 2 p.m.
119:10Online championship that he's got to jump into right now.
119:13Well, we're actually hoping for the Davis, Davis and Theo.
119:17Yes, sir. There's only five. We need seven more donkeys.
119:20That'll that'll happen. What is that one? Oh, they're hoping for four o'clock today.
119:25I heard. I heard. I'll fill up the last minute real quick.
119:29What do you got? I heard. I heard that last night there was three 10 p.m.
