0:46Anheuser-Busch. Michelob Ultra Light Beer. St. Louis, Missouri. Jonathan Brooks ADP is soaring up the board right now due to Chubba Hubbard going down due to injury.
0:55Jonathan Brooks and plenty more players are shifting up and down the board.
0:59We're going to break it all down right here on Player Profiler.
1:03What is going on, folks? Pete Nova here with Player Profiler.
1:07Super excited to be back. I have Matt Modica, who is part of the Fantasy Empire show here at Player Profiler.
1:14Matt is a very sharp guy, high-stakes drafter, and is one of those guys that's pretty much in the trenches the last
1:21month, probably even earlier than that, Matt. Just looking at ADP, seeing where the markets are shifting, and kind of just reacting
1:28as fantasy managers are reacting in real time. You're probably one of the better guys to bring on right now at this
1:35stage of the offseason because you've seen so many guys, again, move up and down the board.
1:41So excited to get your insight. Thanks so much for joining us.
1:45We're going to pick your brain a little bit here today.
1:48Well, thank you for having me. Excited to do this talk.
1:52You know, NFFC, ADP, been in the streets since like the first week of June, doing the live streams with Nelson Sousa, Paul Spateri.
2:00So I think I got like probably at least 25 live streams under my belt.
2:05Yeah, live streams, and then that's probably not even including the drafts that you aren't live streaming, right?
2:11Plenty of drafts this year under your belt and plenty of drafts in high stakes just over the last, I don't know,
2:18how many years have you been playing? Forgetting about just fantasy football, how many years have you been playing in high stakes?
2:25Well, I was really big on baseball. That's where I got in and kind of made my bones.
2:31It was NFBC, not NFFC. And I started like dabbling a little in NFFC.
2:35And then probably like around, you know, the late teens, like 2017, 18, 19, that area, I really started getting into football.
2:43And then the last few years, it's pretty much been all football and stopped doing baseball.
2:48Yeah, and when it comes to football versus baseball, baseball is a tough grind, right?
2:53I mean, I do one high stakes league. It's not on the high stakes website, but it's like a $500 entry.
3:00It's only 10 guys and it's just, you know, it's the NL only, right?
3:04And it's Roto. It's like one, it's like two ad drops a week.
3:08It's a line of blocks one time. So you don't have to worry about continuously coming in every single day and doing the dailies and stuff.
3:17That's where fantasy baseball can be really tedious. But it is, I personally feel like there's more edges in fantasy baseball and
3:24it's a lot more data dependent where with football, we can look at the spreadsheets a ton and try to analyze a bunch of stuff.
3:32But the truth is like the spreadsheets, it doesn't, it doesn't translate nearly as much on a week by week basis.
3:39Whereas baseball, there's so many different things that you can track.
3:43So I feel like it makes it a little bit easier to find edges there and to predict for the future.
3:50But yeah, like I said, super excited to have you on here.
3:54Let's talk a little bit about the board though.
3:57Let's just hop right into it. So we talked prior and we decided we were going to do the last three days of NFFC ADP.
4:05So this is what we have here on the board.
4:08And for those that don't know the format with NFFC, you know, it is a third round reversal.
4:14Roster construction is a little bit different than maybe, you know, another site that you might be drafting on.
4:20It is PPR as well. But before we get into the players for you, do you target a specific build early on in drafts this year?
4:29Are you one of those drafters that you're drafting with so much volume that, you know, you're maybe tinkering or trying a
4:36couple of different builds to try to get exposure to guys just in case you're wrong?
4:41Or what's your methodology this season? I mean, I'm going to diversify, but I'm only going to diversify on these players that I like.
4:49I have a certain pool. It's really not that big, be honest with you, because if you like everybody or not even
4:56if you like everybody, if you are in on everybody, then you're really in on nobody.
5:01So I think you have to take stands on players and, you know, make some commitments here.
5:07As far as builds go, it's going to depend where I am picking.
5:11Just like, for instance, if I'm picking three to five in the NFFC where you have to start three wide receivers, for
5:18me, most likely, unless somebody fell that, you know, was that I didn't expect, I'm going four wide receivers.
5:24And I think that's advantageous because the way the board is giving you that running back in the fifth, that could be your RB1.
5:32And in the early sixth, you can get an upshot RB2 guy.
5:36You know, maybe there's question marks and stuff, but there's talent there, you know.
5:41But, you know, sometimes if you're picking, like, say, five, and you start out with a JSN or an Amon Ra, if
5:48a Hampton fell, you know, he was never falling there until Mike McDaniel made that comment, which I think was, even if
5:55it wasn't a joke, you should not be following, you know, you should be buying a Hampton as much as possible.
6:02I know the Lions, I know their Lions just took a loss with the center, so that's not good, but still, that's a top offense.
6:10Yeah, and when it comes to just the board, at least the last three days, in the first 48 picks, 28 wide
6:17receivers go off the board compared to 16 running backs.
6:21You know, it's normal though, right? Three wide receivers is what you have to start.
6:25So that gets pushed up, which is funny because this year, Matt, we hear all, everybody's saying the same thing, right?
6:32You got to draft running backs early. You got to draft running backs early.
6:37Like that's become that kind of herd mentality. And, you know, I'm not going to zig just to, I'm not going to
6:44zag when everybody's zigging just to do it for the sake of doing it.
6:49I'm with you though. Typically in these drafts, my strategy is trying to anchor down with a running back, right?
6:55And then hitting a ton of the wide receiver values after that.
6:59I'm just looking here at the first round to the second round, right?
7:03Running backs that go off the board at the end of the first it's Jonathan Taylor.
7:09It's Ashton Janty. It's James Cook. Then on the turn, you're getting a lot more running backs.
7:14So it feels like the, the running backs, like being on that one, two turn this year feels really good.
7:21It's being stuck in the middle this year between, you know, five and seven or five and eight is probably my least favorite area to draft Matt.
7:29I don't know about you, but I just feel like if you, if you get the one, two, three, you're getting obviously
7:37a very elite player in Gibbs, Bijon chase, depending on how you have it.
7:41Uh, maybe even some Puka there, depending on who's drafting.
7:45Uh, but then on the turn for the one, two, these running backs, like we look at, they get gobbled and gobbled up.
7:52I'm actually surprised. Kenneth Walker is available. He's kind of being pushed into the middle of the second round over the last few days.
8:00Um, what is your thoughts on Kenneth Walker? You touched on tomorrow on Hampton there it's Hampton, it's chase Brown, then H and then Barkley, then Kenneth Walker.
8:09Um, do you have it this way for you?
8:12If you're drafting typically, do you prefer those players over Kenneth Walker?
8:16Yeah. I mean, Kenneth Walker in the OC isn't going in the middle of a second round anymore, though.
8:22Like once in a while, maybe he's more going around that, you know, around the turn.
8:27Okay. So, um, uh, you know, if, if he falls there, I'll, I'll tell you straight out.
8:33I did two slow primes, uh, that I picked between eight and nine.
8:37And I took Kenneth Walker on the turn when he was there.
8:41And he's just too good of a value for me to pass up.
8:45I think he's going to be the chiefs offense.
8:48If I had to like project the line and I don't really do projections, I don't sit there and like crunch those numbers out.
8:56But I would put him at say Kareem Hunt's rookie season.
9:00You know, I think he's going to be the offense.
9:03They have not had a dynamic back in years.
9:06Andy Reed. Once upon a time, he wanted that Andy Reed running back.
9:10They just went out, paid this guy, got him the bag.
9:14And, uh, you know. Well, it's a good, I just got to stop you.
9:18It's a good thing that you mentioned it. Cause I, I just did the filter again.
9:23It's funny. We were just talking. That's what I wanted to say to you.
9:28I had a preset. It's almost like a, uh, like a nudge from you of like, Hey, I'm trying to tell you
9:35that, that, that, that, that the board doesn't look right without telling you, but.
9:40You want to know how I knew instantly was the third round in the third round.
9:45It's pretty much, it's, it's a wide receiver avalanche.
9:48There's times it could basically, if Henry's there, Henry will go, but there's times it might be like Derek Henry and that's it.
9:56Otherwise it's all receivers. So. Yeah. Well, okay. So, so talk to me about Hampton and Walker, right?
10:01Um, because I'm very high on chase Brown and Walker Brown is, is becoming a one, two turn pick.
10:08Um, I was, I pretty much that that's what I said when I came out, I came out with my rankings a couple of weeks ago.
10:16I have chase Brown at the one, two. Um, I think he deserves to be there.
10:21Um, but I have him in Walker kind of right neck and neck right now.
10:26There's, I have Walker ahead of chase Brown. Now I've had it flip flopped.
10:31Uh, but I haven't really, for me in preference, I have it as, as Walker chase Brown right now.
10:37Um, and then I do have like Devon, a chain and Barkley ahead of.
10:42Omar on Hampton. Um, again, what are your, what are your thoughts there?
10:46Like, let's just at least start with those three chase Brown, Kenneth Walker Hampton.
10:50Um, are you like, Hey, I'm just trying to get exposure to the three guys and you mix and match pretty much.
10:58If you're on that side of the board, typically, are you in on all three of those guys?
11:03Uh, and who would be the guy out of those three that you like the least?
11:09Uh, I am in on all three of them.
11:12I took chase Brown and in the current slow prime time I'm doing, I took him at nine.
11:17So, you know, for me, it was, he's just in, he's just in a great offense.
11:23I mean, Burrow has been injury prone, but I don't really see like the one guy behind him is Samajay Pirine.
11:30And I, I guess the sophomore running back, you know, so I don't really see a threat as long as he's healthy.
11:37He's going to get volume. They were working him out in the slot and, you know, chase Brown to me, I'm more
11:44in on like James cook and chase Brown than CMC and JT this year.
11:49I could be dead wrong on that, but they both had, you know, most touches last year.
11:54I kind of like fade that. So we'll see.
11:57Yeah. And I, and I'm, I'm, I'm with you and I, and the chase Brown thing for me, uh, you know, one
12:04beautiful thing about chase Brown and this offense is just, you're getting two alphas on the outside, right.
12:10In T Higgins and Jamar chase, which lightens up these boxes for chase Brown, uh, to pretty much like, I mean, he
12:17really not take much contact, uh, at the line of scrimmage because defenses have to play them honest because they have so many weapons on the outside.
12:26So, um, I have chase Brown. I know you talked about the projections.
12:30It's not really your thing of crunching every single teams.
12:34Um, I did this year's projections for chase Brown.
12:37I did it for every team. Uh, chase Brown, I have catching or I'm sorry, getting, uh, 90 targets this year.
12:43I do think it's very, very possible for Brown.
12:46Um, I do think that defense is going to be a little bit better this year than we've seen in years past.
12:54They've made some improvements, which could be a little bit of a, of a bummer when it comes to chase Brown and projecting just the offense.
13:02Maybe they slow down a little bit. Uh, but who really knows, right?
13:06It's still projecting for the defense. They still got to put it together.
13:11And we haven't seen that so far in the Joe burrow era.
13:14Yeah. As far as Hampton goes, I mean, I, I wasn't buying anything.
13:19Mike McDaniel was saying, what is he going to say?
13:22Like, I mean, he's a three headed monster. Yeah.
13:25I, the, what team tell me what team in recent memory has ever had a three, you know, headed monster at running back truly.
13:33Like, you know, there's some teams where you have the one, two punch and then you have like a, a gadget guy
13:40that kind of goes in and is kind of like a special teams guy, but really doesn't make much of an impact.
13:47The truth is. And, and he also made the comment about the hot hand thing.
13:52And I'm just like, come on, we're talking about a hot hand, like people reading into it a little too much.
13:59Now I, the, my real concern and you touched on it is really just, you know, Rashawn Slater had a little bit
14:06of a setback with the patello tendon injury. He did miss some practice already.
14:11Um, and that's popped up the last week. You obviously lost Biotis at center.
14:15So now they're, they're, they're relying on slaughter. They're, they're rookie center.
14:19Um, and then at right, right tackle, um, you also have a Joe alt who, you know, is obviously coming off ankle
14:26surgery and they don't have much depth behind them.
14:29So hopefully Mike McDaniels can work some magic. Maybe, you know, the, the nice thing about McDaniels is he gets the ball out quickly in his scheme.
14:38So from a pass rush standpoint, just from, from Herbert's perspective, uh, it may not be as much of a detriment because he can probably scheme around it.
14:47Um, and we know Herbert's been able to elevate even with, uh, a depleted offensive line around him.
14:53So we'll have to see how it goes, but I do want to grab your opinion in the third round here, because it's pretty telling.
15:01You see Jeremiah love, uh, now going at the three, four turn.
15:05And, uh, that's interesting. I was not big on Jeremiah love, uh, Matt, you know, drafting him at the, the, the one, two turn.
15:13I'm sorry, the two, three turn where he was going a lot in, you know, a month ago, weeks ago, he obviously
15:20gets this ankle injury and now he's kind of fallen to this three, four turn.
15:25This starts to become a little bit more of the, the area where I'm more comfortable drafting him.
15:31But if I am in that one hole where he is falling on the board and I have taken Gibbs, I'm probably
15:38not passing up on the wide receivers in this area because you have to start three.
15:43Is that typically your mindset to have you been drafting love and where he's going right here?
15:49Does that kind of make sense? And is that something that you probably would be following as well?
15:55Cause you did talk about hammering those wide receivers early.
15:58Usually I do like to just hammer the wide receivers.
16:01If I get a, a Gibbs or a Bijon and take that advantage.
16:06Uh, all my Jeremiah love shares in the NFFC online championship are in the fourth round.
16:11I don't think I have any in the third, but he has gone early fourth at times, even before the injury.
16:18And right before the injury, I was doing a prime time and I don't know if I started pickings, burden, and I
16:25did take love on that three, four turn. And then the game happened.
16:29He looked great. I was excited. And then he got hurt.
16:33Then I like, you know, 14 plays, whatever, whatever insane number they, uh, decided to use that game, but hopefully, you know, it's a high ankle.
16:41So that's never good. I would take him if he falls further in the fourth round, then I'd have him in consideration.
16:48But the high ankle sprain does scare me. I do think he is a player that has the possibility to be a second half league winner.
16:57Of course, again, I don't even really care. I mean, I want it to be Brissette, but they have a capable backup.
17:04The rookie, let's see what Carson Beck is. I really don't know.
17:08He looked good against backups in preseason, but this defense is so bad.
17:12They got no improvement. Remember last year, they were garbage time monsters.
17:16I mean, Michael Wilson had two number one weeks and they have one of the greatest play, uh, playoff schedules as well.
17:23So. Yeah, it's, uh, the, the love injury is going to be interesting to see how he shakes that off.
17:30And, uh, you know, it was such a boneheaded thing.
17:33Um, we're going to take a quick break and then we're going to jump back to Malik neighbors.
17:39Cause I do want to touch on him. Uh, I know we're in the third round here.
17:45He does sometimes go third round, uh, but he has moved up to now the second round, uh, with the positive news that's come out.
17:53So we're going to take a quick break. We'll go back to Malik neighbors.
17:57Get your thoughts on that. When we come back.
18:00The NFFC, my favorite high stakes fantasy platform. Why third round reversal Kentucky Derby draft slot allocation.
18:06So it's a lottery based system where you can put in your preference where you want to draft.
18:12It's full PPR. There's three receivers. It's the best place to play fantasy football, especially for high stakes.
18:18And now they've combined with the FFWC. They have a lot more contests to offer.
18:22In fact, they have a double crown bonus where you can join the NFFC prime time.
18:28And if you win that 300 grand, you can also join the circle world championship and that's 200 grand.

19:27Back here with Matt Modica talking NFC ADP risers, fallers, and just talking a little bit of draft strategy.
19:34Do you want to talk about Malik Neighbors? Because what an offseason, Matt, Malik Neighbors has had.
19:39When you talk about just ADP in general, Malik Neighbors has had, I mean, he's lived on quite literally all ends of the spectrum ADP.
19:47We had the whole charity softball game and everyone's hyper-analyzing how he looks jogging to first base.
19:53You know, now he's, you know, looks really fluid, really good in these team drills.
19:58He's getting back and back and more acclimated. We still don't know about week one, but his price point now in NFFC
20:05over the last few days is sitting at pick 20, which is a late second round pick.
20:11A kind of mid-late second round pick would go to team four technically.
20:15But what are your thoughts about Neighbors? I have taken him in more of the best ball formats.
20:21I have taken him as high as, you know, early second round.
20:25There's been a lot of times where he's came back to me on the third round reversal and I've taken him there as well.
20:32But what are your thoughts on Neighbors? Is this a price point for you that's still too high coming off of this injury?
20:40Or do you find yourself comfortable taking chances on him as well, even if his price point's here?
20:46I mean, I've done a complete 180 and my advice is draft Neighbors early and often.
20:51I think it was August 2nd. I sent out a tweet.
20:55I was doing a slow prime and a slow online championship.
20:58And I said, I took Neighbors at 3-5 in a slow prime.
21:02That doesn't exist anymore in that format. But in the OC, every now and then he might get to, you know, pick 25.
21:10But he's basically going anywhere from as late, maybe like late second on the off occasion, but more to like mid to early second.
21:18And I think by September, if it keeps going positive over the next couple of weeks, you're going to see him creep
21:25into the first round, especially when they have these big money drafts in Vegas that they do.
21:30Like these are closed leagues that are $5,000, $10,000 entries and stuff like that.
21:35People will get very aggressive. Even 90% of Neighbors is better than probably 95% of the wide receivers.
21:41Yeah. Yeah, it's a good point. And it's just as simple of, you know, you want exposure to elite players.
21:47Neighbors is still elite while maybe efficiency could drop off.
21:51Volume-wise, we know that's probably still going to be there.
21:54There's not a lot of mouths to feed in this offense.
21:57And so, yeah, I'm comfortable taking him there as well.
22:01I have him ranked Malik Neighbors as a one-two turn pick.
22:04So I'm totally comfortable taking him there. Let's talk about DJ Moore.
22:08DJ Moore, you're a Bills guy. I would be curious to know your thoughts on him.
22:13He's risen. He's now at, you know, early fourth round.
22:17What's the highest you've seen DJ Moore go? Because, you know, for more casual, maybe non-high stakes drafts, you know, you play
22:24on like Underdog, you play on DraftKings. DJ Moore has been pretty much like in the 50s for where his ADP has
22:31been for pretty much the entire offseason. He's started to creep up even in that format.
22:36But where do you typically see him go? And is this a price point for you, first pick in the fourth round,
22:43where you'd be still comfortable taking him in these formats?
22:47Well, as a Bills fan, I was furious last year.
22:50They didn't trade for Jalen Waddle and give up, you know, next year's first round pick or whatever.
22:56And when they traded for DJ Moore, I was extremely pissed.
22:59Not that they got DJ Moore, but that they paid a second round pick, number one, and like, you know, you knew
23:07they were cutting him or they were getting rid of DJ Moore.
23:11He was not a fit in the Ben Johnson offense.
23:14Had a big contract still. And the GM just got swindled there.
23:18Like, if he would have spent the fourth round pick, so I've had a bias that I've been angry about it.
23:25Yeah, this feels like a sore subject for you a little bit.
23:29He did play under their now head coach in Carolina.
23:32And he had like one of his best seasons.
23:35So now I am starting to come around. I only had like a couple of shares maybe, you know, prior to the preseason game.
23:43And prior to the preseason game, for the most part, he was living at the end of the fourth, sometimes early fifth, in the NFFC.
23:51Now, like you said, he's going at the 3-4 turn.
23:54My boys, the Fantasy Sopranos, Steve G and Nelson, they were the ones that started taking him like a week prior, around that time, around the 3-4 turn.
24:03And then everybody started doing it. I even did it in an OC last week.
24:08I wanted to do another bill stack, so I went with him and Alan there.
24:13And I did see him, was it yesterday? I did an afternoon OC.
24:17And he went at 3-5. So that was the highest I've seen him.
24:21I pretty much really hadn't seen him before the 3-4 turn.
24:25He seemed to be living there or maybe right before.
24:28But he's a very wanted man right now, it looks like.
24:32And if they do another preseason game and he gets peppered again or makes another big play, I think it's only going to go up.
24:40Yeah. This is one of those things where there's advantages in drafting early.
24:44Sometimes there's disadvantages, right? If you're somebody overweight on Jaden Higgins, who unfortunately just went down today, there's some disadvantages there.
24:51But then there's advantages, right? I mean, DJ Moore has been one of my favorite players to draft this offseason.
24:58I just feel like stylistically he matches really, really well with Josh Allen from that backyard football style, right?
25:04I mean, DJ Moore in Ben Johnson's offense, he's like, you need to be right here at this very spot, at this point in the play.
25:12It's very meticulous. With Josh Allen, it's a lot of free-flowing because he extends plays.
25:17And that's DJ Moore's game. He is a guy that will freestyle.
25:21He's not the sharpest route runner, but he's somebody who knows how to play backyard football.
25:26And so I feel like they match up very, very well.
25:30And it makes a lot of sense to see DJ go this high because like you said, Allen and his price point,
25:37if you are trying to stack him, right? It's a lot of guys taking him on that 3-4 turn with DJ and Allen.
25:45And it makes sense to stack both guys there.
25:48So I can totally, totally understand that. And it's kind of a bummer because you start to see guys that you really
25:55love the value on and then their price starts to go higher and higher and that value is just not there.
26:02But it also opens up for other players to maybe go lower, right?
26:06And you start to get guys at price points you feel a little more comfortable with.
26:11Like for me, that's Jeremiah Love, who I didn't feel comfortable, you know, going around that 2-3 turn.
26:17But now he's going 3-4 turn. And now I'm more comfortable to go ahead and get some shares of him.
26:24So it kind of washes, you know, it washes itself either way.
26:28You know, wash your back. I wash, you wash my back.
26:31I wash your back kind of thing. You know, it finds its way to come back.
26:36It kind of, you know. I'll say one thing on players, you know, and a lot of it's preference.
26:43And, you know, it's like a stock. If there's a stock that you believe in, it's like a blue chip stock that's
26:50really good and it keeps going up and you buy it on the way up, which is like an investment you believe in.
26:57This is what you have to do. Like some people are like, well, I got them in the fourth round.
27:04I'm not paying third round prices. I'm like, I don't understand that.
27:08Because, you know, that's why I personally, most of my draft season will be over, like come September.
27:14You know, I'll do a couple that first week because the season actually starts very late this year.
27:20But I like to start early and draft early because you get prices and you get builds that you're never going to get.
27:27Like even now, like after the 12th round, there's nothing.
27:30It's really sketch out there. So. Yeah. Yeah, it is.
27:34And I like that analogy. It's funny. Like I talked to my buddy and because, you know, we invest in stocks too.
27:41And it's like my one buddy is always, you know, we'll take like, take like Apple, for example.
27:47I'm talking to him like three, four years ago.
27:50And I'm like, I'm like, yeah, like either way, like we'll get a little bit Apple.
27:55And we're young guys. So, you know, you obviously want to take risk.
27:59You don't want to invest in every blue chip because it's like you have a lot of time to recover.
28:06But it's the same thing with him. It's like, well, you know, it's like, it's already at this point, we got to,
28:13we got to find things that are going to, you know, triple our value.
28:17Right. And that's what people are looking for so much where people get so caught up in the value of the board
28:25where you have to have some sort of balance with it.
28:28Right. It's like, I'll take value when value falls to me.
28:32Of course, like Lamar Jackson, you know, where he goes, sometimes he slips even further, but right now Lamar Jackson's going at pick 81.
28:40Right. Lamar Jackson's my second ranked quarterback. I typically don't draft quarterbacks high, but when I'm getting elite talent falling that far
28:47to me, like it's hard to pass up. Right.
28:50So those are times where I'll take the value.
28:53And then there's times you got to go up and reach and go, go pay that price for something that you really like and you care about.
29:01And that's kind of to your point, you know, if you're a big fan of DJ Moore and this price tag scares
29:09you off, then kind of like what you said before, if you buy everyone, then who are you really in on?
29:15Same thing here. Like if you're really in on the player, like believe that and don't let other people kind of shift
29:23it, that opinion for you, as well as, you know, don't let the board shift that opinion for you.
29:29But let's go ahead and look at the rest of the board here.
29:33Let's keep it moving. I do want to talk about Parker Washington, right?
29:37He goes off at the board now in the fourth round.
29:41He did pop up on this like injury. What are your thoughts on Washington?
29:46I know the CMC talk lately, they're saying it's possibly contract related.
29:49Do you think the Parker Washington undisclosed injury where they're telling us, Hey, he's going to be back in a week, but
29:57they won't tell us what the injury is. And he's day to day.
30:01Do you think it has anything to do with possibly hammering out a contract extension?
30:06Because we have heard about a contract extension for Parker Washington.
30:09And I assumed his ADP was going to shoot up the board once that happened.
30:14But just these continuous days, if I'm stacking and stacking and stacking more days, now he's sitting here in that fourth round.
30:21But I still love him. And I'm still probably drafting him as well.
30:26Do you think there's something to something with this injury?
30:29And are you hoping that we get a little bit of a discount on Parker Washington?
30:34Or is he somebody you're not really drafting? First, I hope it's more of like a personal reason, maybe, or something minor.
30:41I do think he's getting a contract before opening day.
30:45But, you know, it seems like everybody says he broke out the last four weeks.
30:50And he broke out after the week eight bye.
30:52The offense got geared towards him. It revolved around him.
30:56And that's why when I hear that, I'm like, no, it was 10 games plus the playoffs, whatever, nine games plus the playoffs.
31:03I've been drafting Parker Washington anywhere as late as the mid-sixth.
31:0726th. I've drafted him as high as the 3-4 turn.
31:10And he is, if not my most owned player, one of my most owned players.
31:15Love that. So I'm very invested in Parker Washington.
31:18On the flip side, I do have probably half as many shares as of BTJ.
31:23Because he goes anywhere in the late fifth to early to mid-sixth now.
31:27And he's still, look, he was a guy we were drafting like seventh overall last year.
31:32And I still think he's a big talent. I think this is a really good offense.
31:38So I'm in on him. But I am in on Parker Washington.
31:41If this is a serious injury, I might be in serious trouble.
31:45So I'll light a candle for the next week.
31:48And hopefully it's something minor or personal. And again, I do believe when the season kicks off, he will have a new contract.
31:56Yeah, I'm with you. Let's take a look now at a player on Parker.
32:00I do want to add one note and then we'll go to the next player.
32:05We're going to talk about Bachel too. But one thing to note too, with Parker Washington being out, it is being reported
32:13that Travis Hunter is still really not playing a ton on offense, which is kind of surprising because we have kind of,
32:20a lot of people have fallen into that trap of assuming that Hunter's an injury away from being a full-blown, full-time offensive player.
32:27And we haven't seen it just yet in these joint practices where he could be getting some really important reps against other teams.
32:35It has not been the case. He hasn't played a ton of offense.
32:39It's mainly been on defense, which is pretty telling.
32:42So I'm curious to see with Parker being out, if maybe that changes depending on how many more days he's out.
32:49But that's one thing that I've taken notice of and I've been interested in.
32:53I saw it today though. Yeah. I don't mean to cut you off, but I think it was today.
33:00They had a joint practice and he was basically like cornerback one.
33:03He had 28 snaps on defense and like only two on offense.
33:07Yeah. So I don't know. And it's a little surprising.
33:11It could just be that they, they want him.
33:14Maybe it flips. I don't know if they have a joint practice tomorrow.
33:18Maybe it flips and they're just trying to get him focused on one side of the ball each day.
33:24I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure they've already had two practices and it's, it's really been majorly on the defense side of the ball.
33:32Now, Bayshall Tootin's going off the board at pick number 60.
33:36The Chris Rodriguez drumbeat seems to be getting a little bit more louder.
33:40It feels like this team believes that Chris Rodriguez is going to be that guy that they want to use in the, at the goal line.
33:49It was reported that the Jaguars were not happy with, you know, what they had in their short yardage backs last season.
33:56And I don't really get the Bayshall Tootin hype.
33:59I hate to offend you, Matt, because I don't know if you're a Tootin guy, but I am not on the train.
34:06But is ADP falling to possibly six round? Again, comes to that point where I'm, I'm okay saying, okay, I'll start taking
34:13some chances on him if he continues to fall a little bit.
34:17Yeah, you can get Tootin. Tootin, like you said, I think on the board here, it's right at the five, six turn.
34:24He goes in the mid six round at times.
34:27So he is definitely falling. At one point it looked like he was rising.
34:32And then Chris Rodriguez came back. I am kind of a Tootin truther.
34:36I do think he is, I think the scenario here is they don't really know what they have in him.
34:42And I think he's going to get a shot.
34:45I do think Chris Rodriguez is involved regardless. And I draft him as well.
34:50But his price is somewhere in the 11th round or sometimes early 12.
34:54And I will, you know, I'll, I'll hit that button every time.
34:58Yeah. But, and the thing with Rodriguez is he goes back to Cone with Kentucky.
35:03But I think this guy's got like seven receptions in the NFL and, you know, maybe 20 throughout college and everything.
35:10So he's not going to be catching passes. Yeah.
35:13Basel's Tootin. You know, I did like him in college though.
35:16He's a guy that does have the breakaway. He can break tackles and he has the speed.
35:22Yeah. Well, that's the thing. And I think you hit it on the head where Tootin is going to get his opportunity to win this job.
35:30Right. I think that's really what it's going to come down to.
35:34I think the Jaguars are truly going to give both guys the chance to win this job.
35:40And it's going to be a matter of which guy steps up now to, I think physically, definitely the more gifted player.
35:47I think with Rodriguez, you kind of know what you're getting is that sexy.
35:52No, but it's probably something that they feel comfortable that they can trust and they know what they're going to get probably on each play.
36:00It's not going to be a big play, but he's going to fall forward and get you yards.
36:06It kind of reminds me of Zach Charbonnet, Kenneth Walker situation a little bit where Walker was always a flashy player, right?
36:13He's the guy that kind of bounces back and maybe has some negative plays, but the pop plays are really, really nice.
36:20Whereas Zach Charbonnet, people are like, why is this guy in the field?
36:24And it's because the guy never loses yards. He might, he'll get you three yards.
36:29He might not get you 10 yards, but he'll get you three, four yards, which is what they're looking for.
36:36And LaQuint Allen, I think is a big factor here.
36:39He is injured. He did get, didn't play in the preseason game.
36:43So he did get the rest, which I think was a huge tell that they do want to rely on him in the passing game.
36:51But then in practice, like the next, the next practice, he had a soft tissue injury and sounds like he's out for the entire rest of preseason.
37:00So it's going to be a big opportunity for Tootin to step up and catch passes and earn more work in that role as well.
37:08Interesting note. I forgot what I was listening to, but it was somebody, if I was listening to it, it was, it
37:15was somebody that I like and respect. And they made a point that the Jogs last year threw 11 passes total to running backs on third down.
37:24So that kind of makes that third down receiving role, not that exciting, especially with the quarter receivers.
37:30You know what I'm saying? I mean, it was something that I heard and I was like, well, so, you know, something to think about.
37:38I think that is something to think about. I do want to ask you before we leave the fifth round, Travis Etienne
37:45was not a guy that I've been drafting a ton of.
37:49When I, when I looked at Kamara, I just said, man, this guy's going to be involved.
37:55The drumbeat over, over this off season, since Kamara's came back, hasn't been very positive for Travis Etienne.
38:00It sounds like they're very close in a split though.
38:04I still believe Travis would get the majority of the work of the two.
38:08But now Kamara is going to miss at least a month and that could be possibly longer.
38:14He's an older player. It's not like this is a two, three year guy who maybe his body recovers a little faster.
38:21This is Alvin Kamara who's been in the league a long time.
38:25And I think he's approaching 30 if he's not already.
38:28And so Travis Etienne, his, his price point reflects, you know, fifth round 54 overall.
38:33Do you expect Travis Etienne to go higher? Because when I started doing my rankings, now that I know Kamara is going
38:40to be out, I found myself putting Travis Etienne right ahead of Kyron and right behind Javante Williams.
38:46So it would push him into that fourth round.
38:49Are you comfortable taking Etienne that high or is he somebody you've been avoiding?
38:54And is this something that might change your mind with the Kamara injury?
38:58I mean, going back to a very good point you made earlier in the draft season, like last month, Etienne was living
39:05in the fourth round or early fifth at the latest.
39:08Now he's fallen. I've actually used a player that I wasn't getting shares of that in the past week or two.
39:15Now I'm getting shares because I've got him at five, 10, I think the five, six turn.
39:21And, and that's also a factor of playing in the NFFC when these receivers, you know, just keep getting pushed up or
39:28there's that avalanche, that whole third or fourth round is mostly wide receivers.
39:32The running backs are all going to fall to the fifth.
39:36So, uh, you know what? It's not even really Kamara that I think losing Tyson, uh, makes me like him even more.
39:43Cause you know, I think he's going to catch more passes.
39:47I don't even think he's really that great of a pass catcher, but, uh, I do think, you know, I, I like
39:54the, I like the head coach a lot. I think he knows how to run an offense.
39:59He runs a high tempo offense. Only thing in, only thing in new Orleans that has me down is the Tyson injury.
40:07And Shuck seems to not be having a really good camp.
40:10Okay. Yeah. It's a good point. Um, and yeah, I mean, you're talking about loss of targets, a lot of loss of
40:17targets to Kamara that are going to be gone for a little while.
40:22And Tyson, who's going to miss two months. So those got to go somewhere.
40:26Um, so it's a good point to bring up, um, moving along here, let's, uh, let's talk about Jonathan Brooks, who his ADP has really, really risen.
40:35Um, now in this format, I have seen in the FFPC, uh, I think Theo Grevenger, uh, pointed out that Brooks went
40:42as high as like the fourth round. Uh, you know, I think that was a week ago.
40:48Now, format wise, a little bit different than this format.
40:51And like you mentioned, wide receivers get pushed up the board.
40:55So I don't think we're probably what, not likely to see that for Jonathan Brooks, uh, him to get pushed up into
41:02that fourth round, but, um, what do you think about his rise?
41:06And is this a price point that you're, you're willing to take chances on as well?
41:11Like if you look at the board here, he's at six, five, he was pretty much living at five, six turn or
41:18just, you know, maybe the next pick. Usually whoever had that one was going receivers.
41:23And then maybe like taking like a Brooks for the upside shot.
41:27I think the game against the bills, maybe soured some people, which it actually did the opposite for me.
41:33Uh, I pretty much leave every draft if possible with either a share of Brooks or a share of Blake Corum, because
41:40I want that upside shot on one of these two guys.
41:44I have 20, I have over 20 shares of each.
41:47And I watched that preseason game. Their offensive line was trash.
41:51I know they're missing a couple of guys. And to me, my whole bet on Brooks is look, he's, he was very talented.
41:58He didn't really even play that much in Texas.
42:01He got that year after Bijan and he shined, but it's his past catching ability.
42:06And if this offensive line is going to be trash.
42:09And from what I remember the last year or two, the, the Panthers could at least run the ball.
42:16They had, they had good running games. Rico Dattle, what was going off and stuff.
42:20So the passing game is why I'm really all in on Jonathan Brooks and why I think he doesn't fail.
42:27And actually is a guy you want on your roster.
42:30The quarterback last year had what? Three games where he threw for just over 200 yards.
42:35It was like 205 yards or more. Like three times.
42:39Ted McMillan, Uber talent, but quarterback is not good.
42:42The line isn't good. They got to do the dump off passes.
42:46And all you heard in the off season is he wants him in the passing game.
42:51I'm watching clips every week of this kid catching passes and not even just like dump offs.
42:56He's even going down the field a bit. So I'm going to take a shot on that.
43:02I, we talk about it on the live streams about say building backwards.
43:06Say like I wait to the fifth round. Hypothetically, I got the Andre Swift.
43:11I take a Jonathan Brooks. And then I get my RB three later on in like the eighth round.
43:17I get a Dobbins or a Mason. You know what I'm saying?
43:21I feel, I feel strong going in there. I got four wide receivers that are, that are hopefully monsters or at least three of them, you know?
43:30So yeah, I'm, I'm, I'm all in on Brooks as bleak as Carolina is.
43:34I think he's the silver lining. Okay. Let's let's take one more quick break.
43:39We'll come back. We're going to get through the next couple of rounds.
43:43We're going to probably stop at probably top 100.
43:46And then I'll give you a chance to tell me about a player, maybe going outside of top 100 that you are
43:53still grabbing value on right now, but let's take one more quick break and we'll come right back.
43:59The NFFC, my favorite high stakes fantasy platform. Why third round reversal, Kentucky Derby draft slot allocation.
44:05So it's a lottery based system where you can put in your preference, where you want to draft.
44:11It's full PPR. There's three receivers. It's the best place to play fantasy football, especially for high stakes.
44:16And now that combined with the FFWC, they have a lot more contests to offer.
44:21In fact, they have a double crown bonus where you can join the NFFC prime time.
44:27And if you win that 300 grand, you can also join the circle world championship and that's 200 grand.
44:33You win both. You win a million dollars. So go to play NFFC.com slash profiler and check the show description for a number of promo codes.
44:41You can use first time, 100 to get a hundred bucks when you sign up.
44:46But also every time you sign up for a new contest, we give you codes to use to get discounts on those entry fees as well.

45:39We are back. Let's go ahead and move back a little bit more to Josh Downs, right?
45:45Recent news with Josh Downs. You have Keenan Allen now signed.
45:48Alec Pierce is the news with Alec Pierce. Matt's all over the place.
45:52I don't know what the heck is going on with Alec Pierce.
45:56It's like, you know, I don't know if they're trying to cover themselves and Steichen's trying to just stay really, really positive
46:04because it feels like we're getting different reports all the time.
46:07He's still not in team drills, but he's moving around.
46:10He looks good. But then a couple days prior, you know, people are all gloom and doom.
46:16And now they go ahead and they sign Keenan Allen.
46:19And so, you know, you can believe it two separate ways.
46:23It's either they're not as comfortable as they thought with Josh Downs being in two wide receiver sets.
46:29And they, you know, they gave him a chance in camp to earn that.
46:33And maybe they don't like what they've seen or, you know, they don't really love the timeline with Alec Pierce.
46:40And they're trying to cover themselves. They probably probably missed out on Stefan Diggs, Debo Samuel, those guys waiting this thing out.
46:47And now they bring in Keenan Allen. And, you know, we'll see what happens.
46:52But Josh Downs going off the board at 71.
46:55Do you expect his price to move at all with the Keenan Allen news?
46:59Was he a guy that you were drafting at all?
47:02And does this news affect that, in your opinion?
47:05Real quick, Alec Pierce. I haven't drafted him at all this year.
47:09Me too. Me too. And I loved Alec Pierce last year.
47:13Fantasy, he was awesome. And I like to bet the receiving props, he was one of the best players in that all year.
47:20Yeah, longest catch kind of thing. Yeah, he would have 60 yards on the first drive.
47:26But now he's actually just talking about, like, how things change.
47:29As you mentioned, you brought that point up. So I want to piggyback on that.
47:34He started off in, like, the end of the fifth round, say, early on in draft season.
47:40Then he's been living, like, around that 6-7 turn.
47:43Now he's going into, he's falling into the eighth round, I'm starting to see, in some drafts.
47:48And that's when I'm starting to get interested. Because even if he's going to come back and maybe, say, miss, even if
47:55he missed a month, even if they put him on puck, and I can get a guy with, you know, his upside, then I start getting interested.
48:04But it's just funny, he was a guy that I wasn't going to pay up fifth round.
48:10Didn't even like him really at the 6-7 turn.
48:13But, you know, he might become a guy that, hey, I'm going to get a couple of shares before the season's over.
48:20Yeah. And so with that note, has Josh Downs' price tag moved up to be too expensive for you?
48:26And do you think that we could get maybe a little bit of a pullback, like you talk about with stocks, a
48:33little bit of a pullback with Josh Downs and his price with the Keenan Allen news?
48:38Yeah. And again, just to be transparent, we talked about Parker Washington.
48:42Josh Downs is probably my second most owned receiver.
48:45So I'm rolling, you know, a lot here. But I've been a Josh Downs believer for the last couple of years.
48:52And it just hasn't come to fruition. I believe in the talent.
48:56It's like in Moneyball when Jonah Hill does the thing.
48:59The problem with this guy. The problem with Josh Downs is just opportunity.
49:04When he plays two-thirds of the snaps, he crushes.
49:06And I do believe this year he's getting the opportunity, even with Keenan Allen.
49:11The thing I didn't get, and I think they really had no choice, and they brought Keenan Allen in because of the familiarity with the head coach.
49:20But they needed an ex-receiver to replace Alec Pierce for the time being.
49:24Like a Kayshawn Booty would have been a night.
49:27But they traded all those picks in the source trade last year.
49:31Diggs is probably going to take a dip here.
49:34And I think he went in the last draft maybe like 7-4 or something like that.
49:39And I will buy that all the time. The other thing with Keenan Allen, look, he's going to be a pain in the ass.
49:47Let's not kid ourselves. But his first seven games last year, he was a house of fire.
49:53He had seven targets in every game. His next nine games, he had seven targets once.
49:58The last game of the regular season, he had 13 targets, seven catches for 36 yards.
50:03You know, I kind of think Father Time is catching up to Keenan.
50:07You know, he'll get open. He can get open in this short, intermediate area.
50:12But I think Downs is going to be playing all over the field.
50:16It's a bet I'm going to, you know, die on that hill.
50:20Kind of, you know, it might even be a financial one, but we'll see.
50:25Tell me, I want to selfishly talk about a running back situation.
50:28Get your thoughts. Because I don't know if I'm, you know, there are certain times where you get hyper tunnel vision on a player.
50:36And you just can't stop drafting because of the price.
50:40For me, that's Rico Dowdle this year. I don't know if he's ever drafting at all, but Jalen Warren still goes, you
50:47know, a whole round ahead of him. And right now, you know, all reports that I've read is that Rico has looked phenomenal in camp.
50:55I personally think Rico is going to be the lead back here.
50:59I think both guys are going to catch a lot of passes.
51:03I think Rico's going to be glad they'll get a lot of good.
51:07Well, I'm still kind of shocked that his price point is where it is.
51:12It's one of my favorite coaches on board. In the best ball format of $150 for NFC on a best ball championship,
51:19I've seen him slip, you know, into the 10th round.
51:22So, RJ Harvey followed the 10th round last night, which I know there's a lot of Jonah Coleman love out there right now, too.
51:30But staying on topic here with Jalen, Rico Dowdle, are you a Rico guy?
51:34Because I've called up that down before I was not aware that you were a fan of those guys.
51:41Is Rico a guy that you are a fan of?
51:44I really don't have much Rico, I'll be honest with you.
51:48And it's really probably because I've taken like a Mason or a Dobbins there to be my RB3, you know, and now
51:55I got to get a tight end or add one more receiver or these.
51:59You want to know what it is, too. You just look at this ninth round like you're going around there.
52:06Sometimes you got to be a little aggressive. I know it says they all go in the ninth round, but some of
52:13these guys will go in the eighth. But like a Herbert, a Lawrence, a Daniels, a Williams.
52:19For me, I really have always been a Jalen Warren guy.
52:22But I think everything you said was right. It was every report I hear from everybody and the head coach had him
52:29in Dallas is that he's going to be the lead back.
52:33But it's PPR. Steel is running back about like 100 and something times last year.
52:38I don't know the exact number. Yeah, I think Daniels, I think, had 80 on his own last year.
52:44Yes. So I think it was like a 114.
52:47I don't know if that number was right. Yeah, it was some insane number.
52:52It was insane. So for me, third down is going to be Warren and he's still going to get all these dump off passes.
52:59Now, I don't have a lot of Warren either, and I've always been a Warren guy.
53:05So I'm really not drafting much Warren. I'm not drafting much Dowdle.
53:09But I do think Dowdle is like probably the last guy on the board to get.
53:14You know, otherwise you're just basically an RB2 land or you're going with like a Kroski bill.
53:19Who I'm not really super excited about this year, especially with the Tunsil news.
53:24And so Dowdle would be like that last line of defense for like, you know, having a starting running back or having
53:31a running back that's at least getting half the share of it.
53:35But I don't have it. But I think everything you said is correct based on all the reports I hear.
53:42So I think maybe both of them can, you know.
53:45Well, at their price point, look, the Pittsburgh Steelers are really, really interesting team.
53:49It's a very easy team to stack if you like to play best ball.
53:54But really the price points on the entire offense is dirt cheap.
53:58Mike McCarthy, I do believe that he's going to make this offense better.
54:02Their defense might regress, but they've been regressing. People don't really talk about it a ton, but their defense has regressed a little bit the last few years.
54:11But I overall think that there's just a there's some value.
54:15It's just a matter of picking the right guy here in this offense, even with Pittman and with DK.
54:21I don't find myself drafting either them too much.
54:24But if I am taking one, it tends to be Pittman for me.
54:28But looking at where Rico goes on the board, you know, I get it.
54:33You want to be aggressive and you look at where the quarterbacks.
54:37It's like you're staring at Jaden Daniels on the board.
54:40You don't have a quarterback. You've taken Rico Dowdle when you've already got three running backs.
54:45It's hard. Right. And so this is one of those situations where when you understand the room and you understand where the board is falling.
54:53Right. You have to, you know, you just have to play the board and play the environment.
54:59That's why we all it's like it's like the old saying.
55:03Everybody's got a plan until they get punched in the mouth.
55:06Right. Like same thing here. Like you have to be reactive a lot of times with the board.
55:12And when value falls, like I said, I mean, it's insane when you look at Jaden Daniels going at pick 100.
55:19But it's just the way this this goes. People don't want to.
55:23The difference in points per game for the quarterback position is not very high.
55:27But it is crazy to me because the elite quarterbacks, Jaden Daniels could easily finish his quarterback too and give you a massive positional advantage.
55:36And he's still getting pushed down so far. And look, it's not even just the quarterbacks.
55:41Like if I have a RB2 or I've got my RB3 here, if I can get Sam LaPorta, I mean, Howard Fanning, I would go would probably first.
55:50But him or LaPorta, I mean, LaPorta to me is poised for a big year as well.
55:55I mean, they got a last place schedule. I think that offense bounces back in a big way.
56:01So you got those two guys there. So it's like you're choosing between premium tight ends.
56:07I won't say the elites. We'll leave those for the guys up top.
56:11But I think these guys are pretty special. And I think Fanning has the ability at his age to be one of the best.
56:19But those guys, those quarterbacks, it's like. It's hard to pass up.
56:23I mean, are you really like you sit there and you say, am I really going to sit here and take Jacoby
56:30Myers right now over possibly a guy that can win me weeks?
56:34Is Jacoby Myers really winning you weeks? Probably not.
56:37You want to laugh about Jacoby Myers? And look, I think he's a solid NFL player.
56:42I made my bet on the live stream yesterday with my partner.
56:46He mentioned Jacoby Myers. And I'm like, under no circumstances are we drafting Jacoby?
56:50And it's not that I don't like the player.
56:53Again, it's solid NFL. But I have all the Parker Washington.
56:57I even have BTJ. I'm like, I've made these bets on the Carolina offense.
57:01I don't want to root for this guy on one team.
57:05I'm sorry. It just makes no sense for me.
57:08It's like I'm betting against myself. I just can't do it.
57:12And look, you're in a tournament base. I mean, you don't want to totally go upside and just take every risk possible.
57:19But sure, sometimes you need a little bit of floor.
57:22I get it. But I'm typically not drafting floor a ton in drafts, especially in tournaments.
57:27And so I totally, totally am with you there.
57:30And Sam Laporta is actually a guy that I actually have Sam Laporta ranked as my number four tight end this year.
57:37So I love Sam Laporta. So I think it's a great call out, too.
57:42I find myself drafting him a ton. Now, we're pretty much winding down here at the end of the show.
57:48I do want to give you a chance to name one player just that you find yourself that we haven't talked about.
57:56It can be a player, you know, past the top 100.
57:59It can be a guy inside the top 100 that maybe you're higher on than other people or you're not really understanding
58:06why their ADP is so high or so low.
58:09And then I'll give you one of mine as well.
58:13I mean, for me, it's Harold Fanning. Well, I get the offense, the quarterback, and they drafted two hard receivers.
58:19But this kid went ballistic his senior year, what they call duck foot and all this.
58:24He's got duck feet. The guy at David Njoko last year, terrible quarterbacks, terrible offense, had an amazing rookie season.
58:31You know, and I just think he's, what, 21 years old?
58:35I think he only gets better. But again, like I said, there's other tight ends.
58:39Like, if you're a LaPorter guy, I want to have LaPorter as well.
58:44So I could see that. But he would definitely be one of my guys that I just, I think it's a gift
58:51that you're getting here in that range. Yeah. And it goes back to when we talked in the beginning of the show, a herd mentality.
58:59Like, we don't want to just zig one other zag, right?
59:03I typically, my motto, I typically don't draft tight ends high.
59:06I don't draft quarterbacks high. The only time I do is when a guy slips past his ADP and it's an elite
59:13player and the value is just too hard to pass up.
59:17And I'll take a chance on him. But this is an exact reason as to why you necessarily don't have to, right?
59:24I mean, you have guys that could be elite.
59:27I mean, make no mistake about it. Sam LaPorter could be elite this year.
59:32Held Fanning could be elite this year. There are cases to be made.
59:36And these quarterbacks around them could be elite this year.
59:39So it's like, why spend that capital on those positions that feel like luxury picks?
59:44And then you're chasing another position and you don't want to put yourself behind the eight ball.
59:50That's typically my strategy. I'm going to throw out one guy too, and then we'll wrap things up.
59:56Debo Samuel for me has been a guy that I really like his cost right now.
60:01You talk about there's not a lot of value.
60:04There's not a ton of players once you get past the 10th, 11th round, 13th round.
60:09Debo Samuel right now goes off the board to pick 126.
60:13He goes back to the 49ers from weeks 1 to 11 last year.
60:17He was wide receiver 16 in points per game.
60:20He finds his home back in San Fran. He did talk a little bit about how his struggles going to Washington, how he just wasn't very happy there.
60:29And he understood that the grass isn't necessarily greener.
60:32He looks to be in really, really good shape.
60:35He's lean. And he also talked a little bit about how when he got that pneumonia, he put on some weight.
60:42And I think that was a major factor, right?
60:45I think he kind of, he was in a bad spot, bad spot health wise.
60:49Then the trade rumors came up. He ends up getting traded because he couldn't stay healthy.
60:55And then now he finds his way back to the 49ers.
60:58We were drafting Ricky Pearsall. I was a major, major fan of Ricky Pearsall.
61:03I think you might be a stripling fan. So maybe you're not as high on Debo.
61:08But to me, it's like, I'm getting a piece of the 49ers offense with a weapon that they know how to use
61:15in an offense that has a lot of guys that have issues staying healthy.
61:20I'm getting a guy that's in a possibly a top five offense this year at, you know, pick 126, who looked really,
61:27really good last year until he got banged up as well.
61:31Well, the crazy thing is stripling's now going pretty much, you know, seventh round, maybe sometimes in the eighth.
61:37But he's pretty much living in the seventh round.
61:40Strib City has arrived, at least, you know, in the eyes of the high-stake drafters.
61:45That has definitely, and the other thing is, you know, like, who's remaining?
61:49Like, Kittle, I was worried about, you know, 33 years old.
61:52I wasn't really drafting him early on, but I'm starting to draft him.
61:57He's looking good. And, again, I was a big Ricky Pearsall guy.
62:01I was drafting him. You know, he was the guy that my fourth receiver, like, his price was so perfect.
62:07And, you know, he's gone. So Strib is, like, now he's been probably one of the biggest movers.
62:13It wasn't that long ago where he might have been going, like, just past Debo.
62:18And now he's like... People made fun of the pick so much, and now it's like people are playing catch-up because they
62:25want to get exposure to him so badly because they saw, you know, the usage in the preseason, and it looked good.
62:32And, honestly, that's why I was really harping on, like, the dates and the format that you use.
62:38If you're going to play best ball, you go to best ball form.
62:42If you're going to play online championship. Because if you're doing a week or two, you're using stale prices, and, you know,
62:50you're going to be like, oh, God, this guy's off the board already.
62:54And all you really need is, like, eight to ten drafts.
62:57You really don't need more than that. Yeah. I guess if you're a degenerate like yourself, you know, you can't stop.
63:04Well said. It's all good. You scratch the itch, and it becomes fun.
63:09But this was a good show. It was a lot of fun having you on.
63:14You're obviously going to be here with the Fantasy Empire.
63:17Love, love listening to your show in season, I think, you guys.
63:21It's kind of one of those old school vibes where you guys, you know, it doesn't have to be a bunch of guys screaming at each other.
63:30I know there's all these exciting best ball shows with all these young guys.
63:34But you guys really, really break down the process well in season.
63:38And so I think it's a really good show, and it's very informative.
63:42So I really find myself enjoying it. So if you guys don't check out the show, make sure you are checking out the show.
63:50And, Matt, really, really appreciate it. Good luck this season.
