Alvin Kamara

NegativeRole0:06

Kamara reworked his contract to stay with the Saints, but he will not do anything on his own to be important in fantasy and whatever he does comes at the expense of someone you want to start.

Insight page

Caleb Williams

PositiveProjection0:12

Caleb Williams completed only 58% of his passes, dead last in completion percentage versus zone and off-target rate among qualified quarterbacks, showing inconsistency despite his elite physical attributes and talent.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:13

Caleb Williams had extreme variance in his game log with some monster performances (QB9, QB4, QB11 to close the season) but also two games with single-digit fantasy points, making him boom-or-bust for fantasy purposes.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:13

Caleb Williams should improve in year two with more time in the system, healthier weapons including Colston Loveland and Luther Burden (both rookies last year), and DJ Moore potentially bouncing back after a down year.

Insight page

Christian Watson

PositiveValue0:36

Christian Watson is going as WR30 and is a very interesting pick despite limited statistics; the Packers keep paying him and wanting him around, and he just received another extension.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:37

Christian Watson is one of three primary starting wide receivers for the Packers and is worthy of a pick at his current draft position; the analyst takes him over Matthew Golden in the wide receiver room hierarchy.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

PositiveProjection0:16

Colston Loveland had a 28% target share in the playoffs as a rookie tight end, signaling he is the answer to Chicago Bears pass catchers and is going in the fourth round as the tight end three with significant upside.

Insight page
NegativeProjection0:17

42% of Colston Loveland's fantasy points came in the fourth quarter, suggesting his production was inflated by garbage-time situations when the Bears were mounting comebacks.

Insight page

D.J. Moore

NegativeProjection0:14

DJ Moore barely broke tackles last year, which is what he was so good at previously, suggesting a down year and potential decline in his elite production.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

PositiveProjection0:20

D'Andre Swift is the only running back besides Derek Henry to finish inside the top 24 in each of the last six years, showing consistent elite production regardless of circumstances.

Insight page

David Montgomery

PositiveRole19:02

Montgomery vacated 34 red zone carries, 14 inside-the-five carries, and 158 rushing attempts with the Lions, creating a significant workload opportunity for his replacement.

Insight page

Isiah Pacheco

NegativeRole18:29

Isaiah Pacheco is not good, but the Chiefs' strong offensive line means if Gibbs goes down, someone will have significant touchdown scoring opportunities.

Insight page

Jayden Reed

PositiveProjection0:37

Jaden Reed is a worthy pick at his current draft position in the nebulous Packers wide receiver room; the analyst prefers him over Matthew Golden.

Insight page
NegativeRole0:39

Jaden Reed is not played in two-wide receiver sets by the Packers, which limits his fantasy upside since he can't score points if he's not on the field.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:39

The Packers love how they use Jaden Reed in his specific role and view it positively rather than as a negative reflection of his talent.

Insight page

Jordan Love

PositiveProjection0:28

Jordan Love is a very good quarterback with elite efficiency metrics: first in EPA with a clean pocket, sixth in passer rating, seventh in completion percentage over expectation, and fourth in pressure-to-sack ratio among 38 qualifying QBs with 200+ drop backs.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:29

Jordan Love is a good quarterback operating in a great offensive system under Matt LaFleur, rather than being a great quarterback on his own merits.

Insight page

Josh Jacobs

PositiveInjury0:30

Josh Jacobs has pending legal issues related to a domestic assault accusation; he was arrested but released after new evidence emerged, with his legal team expressing confidence the matter is resolved, though investigation remains technically open.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:31

Assuming Josh Jacobs plays, he is a strong pick with no on-field concerns; he is the primary and featured running back with a clear role and consistent goal-line usage.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:31

Josh Jacobs is the primary scorer for the Packers and has been consistently given goal-line opportunities; he was on pace for 20 rushing touchdowns through the first nine games last year and has scored touchdowns every year as a Packer.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:32

Josh Jacobs was a running back 2 or better in every game before his injury last year, with several top-10 finishes and three top-5 performances.

Insight page
NegativeProjection0:32

Josh Jacobs' efficiency declined late in the season with yards per carry dropping to 3.7, 1.9, and 3.9, and he had a strange benching with only four carries in a game despite starting.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:35

Josh Jacobs is currently drafted as RB14 and will not be a top-three running back or fantasy football breaker, but will score a ton of fantasy points.

Insight page

Khalil Herbert

PositiveRole0:22

Khalil Herbert is the backup running back to D'Andre Swift and could see increased opportunity if Swift is injured, though he is not viewed as a strong standalone fantasy option.

Insight page
PositiveSleeper0:22

Khalil Herbert is an insurance back with league-winner status should D'Andre Swift go down to injury, given the elite Bears offense and his ability to handle a heavy workload.

Insight page
NegativeProjection0:23

Khalil Herbert got a lot of touchdowns last year but is not a flex with benefits; from week 10 on he handled 45% of carries on a 200-carry pace, but is not someone you want to start regularly.

Insight page

Luther Burden

NegativeValue0:17

Luther Burden's ADP is too high with little margin for error, drafted 10 wide receiver spots ahead of Rome Odunze, and his production was limited to just two really good games with everything else being worthless.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:18

Luther Burden has incredible metrics behind the scenes with elite targets per route run and yards per route run, and looked great on film as a prospect with significant talent.

Insight page

MarShawn Lloyd

NegativeInjury0:33

Marshawn Lloyd has a history of injuries with only six total carries through two years; betting on him getting injured has been a 100% hit, though he is currently healthy.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:34

Marshawn Lloyd is a talented day-two pick (88th overall, third round) from USC with explosive ability that the Packers need to complement Josh Jacobs' running style.

Insight page

Matthew Golden

PositiveProjection0:37

Matthew Golden is a first-round pick who could emerge as the alpha receiver in the Packers' nebulous wide receiver room, though the analyst would be surprised if he becomes the primary option.

Insight page
NegativeProjection0:38

Matthew Golden failed to score a touchdown in the regular season as a rookie despite getting opportunities; he is on a list of first-round wide receivers over the last decade who failed to score in the regular season, including Kevin White, Josh Doctson, Laquan Treadwell, Corey Davis, Mike Williams, John Ross, and Cadarius Toney.

Insight page

Rome Odunze

PositiveInjury0:14

Rome Odunze's foot injury should not impact production at his peak, though there is a slightly higher re-injury risk going forward; going in the sixth round is acceptable value.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:19

Rome Odunze is an alpha true wide receiver one who had a 25% target share and 37% of wide receiver targets in the first seven games before a foot injury derailed his season; he should return as the clear number one target.

Insight page

Romeo Doubs

NegativeProjection0:15

Romeo Doubs was the wide receiver three for the first month of the season but plummeted to wide receiver 38 from weeks 6-13, showing significant inconsistency and decline in production.

Insight page

Tucker Kraft

PositiveBreakout0:41

Tucker Kraft was having a breakout season before his ACL injury, starting as the tight end one with 6 for 124 and a touchdown in Week 2.

Insight page
NegativeInjury0:41

Tucker Kraft tore his ACL after Week 13 and is out for the remainder of the season.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:41

Tucker Kraft is expected to be ready at the beginning of the year despite his ACL injury; his athleticism is off the charts and he is dominant, making him worth targeting despite potential slow games early in the season.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:42

Tucker Kraft is probably the Packers' best weapon and would be drafted ahead of Colson Loveland if not for his knee injury.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:43

Tucker Kraft was on pace for 1,139 receiving yards before his injury, a number only achieved by Trey McBride, Brock Bowers, and George Kittle in recent years, placing him in an elite tier.

Insight page
PositiveInjury0:43

Tucker Kraft is not expected to be at full strength in Week 1 despite the timeline suggesting he could play; he will likely get off to a slow start.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:44

Tucker Kraft going in the middle of the sixth round is acceptable value given the risk; if he has a slow start like last year with four down weeks, you can still grab him and have the opportunity for a true breakout.

0:44To the Fantasy Footballers Podcast. With your hosts, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright.
0:49Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the podcast. It's the Fantasy Footballers Podcast, if you're nasty.
0:54Just two best friends talk about the NFC North.
0:57Oh, a couple of... And a bear, the cardboard bear.
1:00Oh, yeah. I mean, what an episode for Jay Grizz to be a part of.
1:05That was not planned, but you're making a good point.
1:09Yeah, I mean, we've got a Packers fan in the house, a Bears fan in the house, and then a couple of
1:16guys who don't care about either of those teams.
1:20Welcome in. It is Saturday, July 18th. Thank you for joining us.
1:24Like I said, today is the NFC North. We've been breaking down all the divisions, going over the important players, sneaking in little nuggets, little truth bombs.
1:33Well, we're going to have a good time today.
1:36A reminder, Ultimate Draft Kit, it's available, and the mock draft tool is out.
1:41It's out on Android. It's out on iPhone. It's not on the web.
1:45Just yet, we are working on that, but it is available in the app, ultimatedraftkit.com.
1:50Make sure you go check that out. That's the only draft tool you need to be prepared to dominate your draft coming up in August.
1:59The Megala Show, a reminder about that. We will be live, the Fantasy Footballers Live, the Megala Show, presented by SiriusXM, sponsored by GMC and PetSmart.
2:08Ooh, look at the screen. Oh, look at that.
2:11That's fancy. Got some footage, the B-roll going there on the YouTube.
2:15So we will be doing a live recording of the podcast Friday, August 28th, live at the Van Buren in Phoenix, Arizona.
2:23There are a handful of tickets, ballerslive.com if you want to join us.
2:27It's going to be a party. It's going to be awesome.
2:31It's going to be Megala Show. No. No, no, no.
2:34It will be Megala. Yes. It's such a good time and you guys can come down and be part of the show,
2:42make it on the recording, get some questions answered as well.
2:46And we've always got some shenanigans there, some special moments.
2:49Yes. Make sure you're a part of it. It's always a good time.
2:53The quick question of the day. Did we tell them the URL?
2:58I didn't listen. Yeah, ballerslive.com. There you go. Jason and I are about, no, not about to, because I guess when you're hearing this, we're already there.
3:07That is true. As of this recording, we're about to go to the airport because we are going to New York to
3:14Fanatics Fest where we will be hanging out if you see us.
3:18Come say hi. And then Sunday we're going to be talking to Dart, Scad, and Eli.
3:24That's right. Some giants of New York. Anyways, quick question.
3:27Andy in Australia. Oh, bonjour. Hey, ballers. As a redraft league commissioner, how do I deal with three inactive league members?
3:35They set their lineups. They pay their entry fee, but they're completely offline in every other way.
3:40They don't speak in the league chat. Don't send trade offers.
3:44They don't accept any. They don't even decline the trade offers.
3:48Can I just boot them out of the league?
3:51Is this worse than true inactive managers? Because like a true inactive manager, you're not paying your league dues.
3:58You're not setting your lineup. You can't. You're just like, well, you're out of the league.
4:03We're going to go to like, you know, footlandleagues.com or the discord, you know, of the footballers to find some cool people, fill out those rosters.
4:12But if someone is really paying their dues, setting their lineups every week, what do you do?
4:18I mean, I guess that's what the question is.
4:21The piece of advice that I would say is this time of year in the off season is when I would text
4:28them and just say, hey, I want to make sure you want to be in this.
4:34Right. You don't usually. I mean, just say this.
4:37Just it's doing it for them. You're like, hey, do you know, you don't have to be in this league if you
4:45don't want to be in this year. I just I'm checking with everybody.
4:49You didn't, you know, talk a lot or or you weren't very active in the league.
4:54Are you sure you want to do it this year?
4:58And then you do that every year until they get the hint or they change.
5:03That's the only piece of advice I think I could have.
5:07Would you be willing to boot them? Yeah, I'm willing to do it.
5:11It's it's but you got to talk to him first and it's like, hey, guys, it's just it's it's frustrating to have three.
5:19I mean, what is it? So one fourth if it's the 12.
5:23Yeah, like that. You have to be able to talk to people and make trades and it would be easier to push
5:31them if you already had someone lined up. If you've got, you know, a person or two that are like, man, I
5:38really want to be in the league and you're like, man, I got these three.
5:43That's another kind of feather in the cap where you can go and say, hey, I've got someone who wants to be in the league.
5:52They really want to be a part of it.
5:55I don't know how involved you are because you don't you're not very active.
6:00Right. Might make it easier to let them say no.
6:03That's a tough call. Alternatively, oh, you are going to leave the league.
6:08You're just done. And then you start a new league that with about seven other players or a whatever the number is.
6:15And then you create a new league at three to that and you just you're done with this league.
6:22Yeah, this is this is just some good old fashioned communication, which if they don't respond to that, then go ahead and boot them out.
6:30All right. It's been 20 minutes. You said nothing.
6:34Oh, oh, yeah. The Camara news. If you didn't hear that at the end of the mock draft.
6:40Well, a couple of days ago, Alvin Kamara did rework his contract and he will be sticking around.
6:46He will be part of the Saints. I mean, that's what I assumed all offseason.
6:51I wasn't quite as high on Travis H. And Junior as the rest of people just because I assumed that Camara, who
6:59is a saint like he is a quick Dorothy Mantis, such a such a good man.
7:04But he is like a quintessential New Orleans Saint.
7:07He is, you know, he's been there his whole career.
7:11Yes, he's a leader. He's been there through the ups and the downs.
7:15And so I assumed he's going to finish his career there later in the offseason.
7:20It seemed like, oh, man, maybe they are really wanting to move on.
7:25And I was I got excited for that. But he'll be there and and make problems for fantasy.
7:31I thought he was a saint for fantasy football.
7:34It's that he's not going to do anything on his own to be important.
7:39Right. And whatever he does do and he's not going to do a ton.
7:43He's not going to be in a 50 50 timeshare.
7:47But whatever he does do comes at the expense of someone that you want to start for fantasy.
7:53That's fair. Moving on. Let's get divisional. We're talking the NFC North.
7:57A reminder, this is we're doing like a general overview, you know, things that have changed for these teams and just taking
8:05a quick look at the players, how we're feeling.
8:08Last year, the Chicago Bears. From worst to first.
8:11Eleven and six. What a year for the Chicago.
8:14Then there was the Packers, the Vikings and the Lions actually tied at nine.
8:19And it to me, the Vikings at nine and eight still.
8:23Yeah, it's mine. Still blows my mind. Oh, I think you're lying.
8:27Right. Like, exactly. No way. Of like the way that the season is thought about because of how things went with J.J.
8:34McCarthy. You're like, well, they they must have won like three games.
8:38Like, no, they they won nine. They actually won the same amount of games as the Green Bay Packers who were second.
8:46They just the Packers had a tie. Yeah. So they they have fewer losses, which is also funny because this is a complete inverse of 2024.
8:55Twenty twenty four. The Lions Vikings Packers Bears. Then this last year, Bears Packers Vikings Lions.
9:00And this division for what for what felt like this is a very easy division to predict last year.
9:07Yeah. This this division is so close that it could genuinely go in every single possible direction.
9:13I don't think that there's which means like the Bears who finished first.
9:17They are. I think right now everyone's love affair in fantasy.
9:21Everyone is excited about them. The fans are very excited.
9:24They could absolutely finish fourth in this division, not because they're not good, because everyone someone has to write like the Lions,
9:32who are a really good team just finished last in this division.
9:36It's it's a brutal, brutal division. They have the most combined wins in the last two years of any divisions by a wide margin.
9:44They have eighty three wins in the last two years.
9:48The next closest is seventy five. That's not bad.
9:51Well, let's start at the top. The Chicago Bears.
9:54They were eleven and six last year. Their Vegas projected win total was eight and a half in one.
10:00That's there's so much J. Gris on the screen.
10:03I'm so happy that maybe I'm not. I don't know.
10:07But people usually really love when Al hits that drop.
10:10Right. And interrupts us with J. Gris's moment. And I'm I guess I am happy that people like it because I hate it.
10:18I just I just hate it so much. I get like usually all those silly little things that give me a little piece of joy.
10:27I'm just always annoyed. But at least people like it.
10:30Yeah. And also we it still catches us off guard.
10:33I know it's going to happen. I didn't. I didn't see it coming.
10:38I mean, we are dumb seven and four in one score games.
10:42It was their first playoff win since 2010. This year, Vegas has them projected at nine and a half.
10:49Very, very strong offense defensively. Not the best 29th of pressure 29th and yards per game.
10:54But they had the third more third most turnovers, which this that when you're saying Jay, this is a team that could
11:02go from first and then finish in last place of their division.
11:06You don't get those turnovers. You can't be your defense can't be that.
11:10Yeah, they have to have drive the way they did their defense step up.
11:15I think they had some injuries last year. I mean, every team does, but it's a well coached team.
11:21Ben Johnson has proven that he is who they thought he was going to be.
11:27Yes. And a very exciting offense. There's obviously also changeover at the offensive coordinator.
11:31Yeah, sort of. Well, OK. Yes, because because Ben Johnson is the head coach.
11:36It's like when you're like, hey, McVay has a new OC.
11:40Sure. Yeah. I don't know that I really care about.
11:43Is this the new spritz? Oh, yeah. Oh, the oil.
11:47The cologne of Ben Johnson is the new Sean McVay.
11:50Yes. So press Taylor next year is going to be you've touched Ben Johnson.
11:55Come come run our team. We'll see. But it's going to take the Bears being really, really great again.
12:02Now, I will say this. It is tough. Every year there's a team that goes from last to first every year.
12:09And the last year it was the Bears. They are legitimately good.
12:13However, they had the last place schedule. This year they've got the sixth hardest schedule.
12:18So it's going to be a different world for them.
12:21They're going to have, you know, instead of being like the underdog Cinderella story, the new kids on the block.
12:28Right now they're going to be expected to do good and they're coming at it from a different perspective.
12:35And sometimes that really has an impact on the ability to perform.
12:39You know, now the pressure is on them. All right.
12:42Let's start with Caleb Williams. Solid for fantasy purposes.
12:45Not necessarily the most. Just the great news on the accuracy.
12:49He completed 58% of his passes. Only Shadur and JJ McCarthy were worse among qualified quarterbacks.
12:55He was dead last in completion percentage versus zone.
12:58Dead last in off target rate. I mean, it's a weird man.
13:02It is like how prolific the offense was to have a quarterback.
13:06How talented he is. Right. When I went back and I watched his film, it's so weird for a guy who's so good to constantly be so bad.
13:16Like his arm strength, his playmaking ability, just his physical attributes is really, they are special.
13:21I mean, we knew that coming in. That's why he was drafted number one overall.
13:26But then it's like, what happened? Like every fourth play is like, wait, what are you doing?
13:32And he's, it's tough because he can go boom for your fantasy team in both directions.
13:38And like looking back over the game log, you have some just absolute monster games, especially he closed out the season as
13:45a QB nine, QB four and QB 11. But you have just like, you have two games of single digit points from a quarterback.
13:53So is it where, where are you projecting Caleb?
13:56Like, are we going to improve? Do you think this is kind of who he is?
14:02I do think he improves. Obviously as a young player, he should be getting better, more time in the system, more time with the players.
14:10You add in the fact that this is a very, very like two thirds of his weapons last year of his print, Luther Burden and, and Mr.
14:20Love, Mr. Love land were rookies, right? Like they should get better as NFL players.
14:25They should step up. Um, DJ Moore, what did not do anything special on his own?
14:30He barely broke tackles, which is like what he was so good at last year.
14:35So I think just simply the offensive weapons getting better, Mr.
14:39Love land, getting better and healthy to start the year, uh, Luther Burden coming into year two.
14:45And then Rome, I, I believe is a very good wide receiver, a true alpha one.
14:51I'm worried about the foot, but, um, I've read things recently that make me realize like maybe that's overblown.
14:57I think the, uh, the last thing that I saw like statistically with this injury is production should not take a hit at all.
15:05Okay. From meeting back to whatever his peak is.
15:08However, the only thing that does happen is a little bit higher re-injury risk going forward.
15:14Okay. Uh, for the first month of the season, Romeo Dobbso Dobbs was the wide receiver three.
15:20We talked about a bit on the, the mock draft that we just did from weeks six through 13.
15:26He was the wide receiver 38 really, really plummeted.
15:29Uh, let's stay with the wide receivers. So you're, we have a gang fight.
15:34Yeah. Like the Chicago bears for fantasy purposes, the Rome people, the burden people.
15:39What is the weapon that you have with Luther Burden?
15:42Cause I feel like with Roma, it's like a lead pipe.
15:46Okay. You know, it's like a, uh, it's not a speed weapon.
15:50You know, it's a big, uh, powerful weapon. That's, that's the, that's the Roma dunes.
15:55What is the Luther burden? Luther burden, you know, the, uh, um, the butterfly knife.
16:01Oh, definitely. It's the butterfly. Oh, absolutely. But it's still not that.
16:05No, it's not that big. And then in the end, that's not a knife.
16:09Right. And then it's like, Oh, who's going to win?
16:13And then Mr. Loveland's got a gun. It's just like, all right, we, we know how this plays out.
16:19So, but yeah, I, I like this. I like this gang fight mentality here.
16:24So let's get into our gang fight. Roma dunes, a V Luther burden.
16:29Okay. So Rome, uh, like we said, he, he started hot Luther burden.
16:33He was banged up in training camp, uh, you know, around there.
16:37So it took him longer to get integrated. And the truth is production wise, he didn't do a ton.
16:44Yeah. We do have, uh, weeks 14 through 17, where he had a 21% target share.
16:49And in that time, uh, Rome was hurt and Mr.
16:53Loveland was down at 17%. And then they got into the, to the playoffs and Colson Loveland said, give me that.
17:00Yeah. 28% target share for a rookie tight end in the playoffs is that's wild.
17:05That is, that is wild where I believe that's the, that's the signal of the answer to all Chicago Bears pass catchers.
17:12It is, it's Colson Loveland. There is the, the slight bugaboo of 42% of Mr.
17:18Loveland's points came in the fourth quarter. Cause if you recall the Chicago bears had a, I mean, probably cause the defense,
17:25but they had a habit of getting, uh, getting manhandled.
17:29And then in the fourth quarter, having a miracle comeback, uh, you know, often on the back of Colston Loveland, his draft
17:36price, he's going in the fourth, he's the tight end three.
17:40I think it's very worth taking on the, the, the risk for the upside for the wide receivers.
17:46I, we talked on the mock draft, the Luther burdens ADP.
17:50I, it's just so high and leaving little to no margin for error.
17:54He's drafted 10 wide receiver spots ahead of Rome as of this recording, which that's fine.
18:00So now, so part of the argument, that's fair.
18:03When, when you're talking about which guy you want, which guy could break out.
18:08Cause it's really important, like for fantasy football, for, for the footland that are making their decision, it's really important to get this right.
18:16Obviously we don't have the answer cause we have two different answers.
18:20One of us or neither of us has it.
18:23Um, but the argument I think for both of us is talent of the player and really not burden.
18:30It's talent of Rome. Right. I think that the reason that you love, cause we both like the talent of Luther burden.
18:37Yes. He looked great on the field. He has some, um, really nice metrics behind the scenes targets per route run and yards per route run are incredible.
18:47They are really incredible. Now on the flip side, he only had two really good games and everything else was kind of
18:54worthless, but it really comes down to what do you believe in Rome?
18:59You weren't a huge believer in Rome, the prospect coming into the NFL draft.
19:04I was much higher. Obviously he was drafted in the top 10.
19:08Um, I think he's a, I think he's an alpha.
19:11I think he is a, uh, a true wide receiver one for a team.
19:16And what I mean by that is the target earner, the guy who is going to, you know, if you look at
19:23the first seven games, um, I brought this up, uh, sometime in the off season, but you know, listeners were, were lower.
19:31The foot injury that started and caused all the problems with Rome, right?
19:35That started, um, heading into the week nine matchup against the bangles.
19:40And from that point on the rest of the season, he was literal hot garbage.
19:45I mean, you couldn't touch him because it was so stinky, but prior to that injury, the first seven games, he had
19:52a 25% market share of the team, 37% of the wide receiver targets.
19:57Uh, he was on pace for 135 total targets.
20:00He was the clear number one for the team got injured.
20:04And then it kind of went a bunch of different directions.
20:07I believe as he is currently healthy, he will be the number one target.
20:12Okay. Which would make him going in the sixth round is that's perfectly acceptable.
20:17I think I don't have a problem with, with where Rome is going and the, the, the upside.
20:23I don't, I don't know if burden is going to be on very many of my teams.
20:29It's just gotten to this point where it's the ADP is so out of control.
20:34And it doesn't seem like it's getting cheaper. People are still, people are still like steaming them up higher.
20:41They're like, Oh, I'll take up number one. So just that's what I would say.
20:46Be careful with that, with that ADP, the running backs.
20:49I really liked Deandre Swift. He is actually the only world.
20:53I know. I know it's, it's terrible. Uh, the only running backs to finish inside the top 24, each of the last
21:00six years, Derek Henry and Deandre Swift. He, no, no matter how much garbage I would talk about Deandre Swift, he would
21:08still be able to finish in totality with a bunch of fantasy points.
21:12Now the breakdown of Deandre Swift versus Kyle Monungay.
21:16Do do do do do. It's over the, over the second half.
21:20It got a lot closer in terms of Monungay.
21:23It was starting to be trusted by this team.
21:26He felt like a player, you know, cause I think he was a seventh rounder.
21:31I mean, he was a very late pick. He felt like a running back that could get replaced in the offseason.
21:38But I guess he built up enough trust and he's, it's going to be a timeshare.
21:44I, I prefer Deandre Swift because of the, the upside of, you know, he wasn't used as much as a pass catcher
21:51as he has been in his career, but he can do that.
21:55He, and he can do that. That's like his superpower.
21:59Yeah. In, in my evaluation of Deandre Swift, but you're, you just, you want pieces of, of, of this type of an offense.
22:07And I have no problem with where Deandre Swift is being drafted in, in our mock common guy was like a second to last pick or something.
22:16He was in the double digit rounds, which is like, that's incredible value.
22:20There's, there does exist a world where my non guy has more rushing touchdowns than Deandre Swift.
22:26That is true. I don't think there exists a world where he is a true 50, 50 timeshare or certainly not takes
22:34over the lead role over Swift while healthy. However, when you talk about insurance backs, there's not always a clear cut backup
22:41and there's not always a clear cut, um, opportunity should an injury happen.
22:46This is one of those that needs to be highlighted for this year.
22:50Should Deandre Swift go down to injury? It will be mon guy and he will be up towards league winner status simply
22:58because of the offense, the team, the way they want to run the ball.
23:02And what we saw him do, he was a seventh round pick.
23:07I'm not like bullish on mon guy. Uh, people think he's a flex with benefits.
23:12I don't see it that way. He got a lot of touchdowns last year and there was a little bit of a
23:19lot from week 10 on mon guy handled 45% of the carries.
23:23Yes. And it was about a 200 carry pace.
23:26Um, I just don't know that you're going to want to start that if he gets a touchdown, you're fine.
23:33But on a, on, on the reg, I don't think you're going to want to.
23:38However, there was one game Deandre Swift missed last year.
23:42It was week nine. And in that game you had 31 opportunities go to mon guy.
23:47So we have the proof that should Swift go down, mon guy will be pretty much a bell cow.
23:54I mean, right. 31 opportunities. He scored 21.3 fantasy points.
23:57It was 26 for 176. Who was it against?
24:00The bangles. Oh, Oh, grain of salt. But the point is they gave him everything.
24:06So I do like, I do like mon guy as a late round.
24:10That's why insurance back. Cause Caleb was the QB one against the Cincinnati bangles.
24:15The bangles are so nice to play against. They put a shellac in 47 to 42, man.
24:21I forgot that game got that crazy. Uh, there for the schedule, they open on the road against Carolina.
24:27Then it's Minnesota, Philly, the jets and the Packers.
24:30They are. So they're favored in five of their first six games.
24:34It's telling that they are favored against Minnesota and favored against Philadelphia.
24:38Both are at home. Minnesota is at home. Yeah.
24:42But Philly, I mean, that's, that's a, that's a tough matchup and they're currently favored.
24:47So, uh, yeah. All right. We're going to take a quick break and then we'll talk about the green Bay Packers.
24:54They say Jack of all trades, master of none.
24:57Well, they haven't met the Kia carnival hybrid. It's 10 year, 100,000 mile limited powertrain warranty or it's 242 horsepower engine.
25:04Maybe Jack should drive a multi-purpose Kia carnival hybrid.

25:38Green Bay Packers were nine, seven and one. So they did not beat their 2025 projected win total of nine and a half this year, Jason.
25:47They are projected for ten and a half. It makes sense.
25:50The team finished nine, seven and one, but the team was nine, four and one before Jordan Love had a concussion in week 16.
25:59So this was a team at that point in time that looked like they were.
26:04I mean, honestly, they look like they were going to win the Super Bowl like they also before Micah Parsons.
26:11It was the Micah Parsons injury. And then that just destroyed their defense.
26:15He's so good. It's worth knowing that Michael Parsons will be back this year, but he will not be back at the beginning of the season.
26:24So and that's good for fantasy purposes. They're going to need to score more without Micah Parsons there.
26:30I expect he will start on the pup. He's come out and said like he's going to take his time and make
26:38sure he is completely ready if he misses half the season.
26:42And honestly, if you're the Packers, whatever, you're going to win enough games without him where you want him at full strength,
26:49fully healthy for when it matters in the playoffs.
26:52It's a good team. They were four and five in one score games.
26:57Warren Sharp has them down for the 14th toughest strength of schedule.
27:01So, you know, it's kind of right there in the middle offensively.
27:05It's a great team. And then the defense was very strong as well.
27:09Do you see this stat? Which one? This is this is an unbelievable stat.
27:14Christian Watson, Tucker Craft and Jaden Reed. Last year they did not play one snap together.
27:20That's crazy. That is. Wow. They just they just took turns being injured, I guess.
27:25Matt LaFleur, 76 wins tied for the second most in NFL history by a coach through their first seven seasons.
27:32So it's solid. Where people like. Yes. Yeah. I was going to people wanting to fire LaFleur.
27:37He was on the hot seat. People were getting sick.
27:41It was like he lost a couple of games after losing his two most important players.
27:46Goodness gracious people, man. There is. It's a long season and have some grace.
27:51Just take a break. I remember as a Cardinals fan trying to pile on.
27:56Yeah. Yeah. You should fire him. You should definitely fire him.
28:00And then we got the other LaFleur. So, you know.
28:03Yeah. Hopefully it's Matt's hair is much better. Oh my gosh.
28:07Then what my hair is better. Honestly, honestly, baby LaFleur.
28:10I hope you're great. I was rooting for you to get the job.
28:15You have too big a forehead to go straight up with your hair.
28:19You can't. Guys, guys, if you've got a big forehead, you've got to have some of the hair hit the forehead.
28:26That's just the rules. If you've got a really tiny.
28:30I don't make them. I don't. Yeah. Just follow them.
28:33If you've got a really tiny forehead from your eyebrows to your hairline.
28:38Woo. Go on. It's just math people. It's like vertical stripes.
28:41Right. Yes. Vertical or horizontal stripes. They do things.
28:45Anyways, the floors. All right. So Jordan Love, let's start there.
28:48He is a good quarterback. I, in fact, think Jordan Love is a great quarterback.
28:53The numbers for him among 38 qualifying quarterbacks with 200 or more drop backs.
28:58He's first in EPA with a clean pocket, sixth in passer rating, seventh in completion percentage over expectation, fourth in pressure to sack ratio.
29:07Like he is. Jordan Love is very, very good.
29:10I think he is a good quarterback. Definitely. I do not think he is a great quarterback.
29:15I think he is a good quarterback with a great offensive mind.
29:20And, and he's. Yeah. You can, you can give credit to the floor.
29:24He's in a system where, oh, we got the floor.
29:27See what I mean? Baby LaFleur is on the screen.
29:31Baby LaFleur. You just gotta just bring the hair down a touch.
29:35You've got great hair. You've got great hair. Yeah.
29:38Just don't do that with it. Um, anyways. Uh, yeah, I mean, so, uh, Matt LaFleur head coach of the Packers here.
29:46He is, he runs a great team, a great offense.
29:49He knows that, you know, the running game with Josh Jacobs helps them win ball games that opens things up for Jordan love puts him in great situations.
29:59I expect this to be definitely a top half offense.
30:02No matter what, I mean, last year, 11th in points per game.
30:06I think there'll be right around there. Not like one of the, uh, bangles, you know, lions barn burners that you expect
30:14to be putting up massive points every game, but they will be a top half off offensive, not a top third offense.
30:21And so you want pieces of it. There's a nebulous wide receiver room and let's talk about the running room first because
30:29it's, it's a lot clearer with, you know, it's cloudy with a chance of greatness, which is the clouds are Josh Jacobs
30:36has still some pending legal field issues. He was accused of, uh, domestic assault.
30:41Yes. He was, I believe he was arrested. Yes.
30:44Then new evidence came out. He was released as of this moment.
30:48What has happened is the legal team for Josh Jacobs has said they're happy with where it is and, uh, they expect nothing to come of it.
30:58I think legally it's probably gone. It's probably gone.
31:01However, it has also been reported that it is not case closed.
31:05There is still leaving room to investigate. So, um, there is, you know, in the, the risk rating for Josh Jacobs and the UDK will factor that in.
31:14Let's take that out and say he plays. Cause I do believe that he will play, you know, as many games as he's healthy for this season.
31:24I don't think he'll be suspended. I don't think he'll, um, be arrested.
31:28Uh, and in which case Josh Jacobs, he's a darn good pick, man.
31:33Um, he is, you don't have any concerns of like on the field.
31:37Yeah. No, I don't. Um, obviously last year he got injured.
31:41If, if you want to be, uh, you know, he did.
31:45And I mean, he's, he's still getting, his role is clear.
31:48Like he will be, he's the primary and featured running back of this team.
31:53Now he's the primary scorer of this team. What I love is that after the first half of the first season that
32:01he was a Packer, they figured out, holy crap.
32:04When we get around the goal line, let's give it to him.
32:08And they haven't changed. They haven't wavered. And he just scores touchdowns through the first nine games last year.
32:14He was on pace for 20 rushing touchdowns. And, and he's done that every year as a Packer.
32:21So I don't have fears. He was not even, he was a running back two or better every single game before the injury.
32:28And he had several games where he was a top 10 running back.
32:33And I'm seeing three games where he was a top five running back.
32:37Then he gets injured with the knee injury. Um, comes back way too fast, pushes through it.
32:43Still has good games for fantasy. And then flames out had that game where like, he's trying to play and the floor was mad at him.
32:52And then you got like a weird benching. Yeah.
32:55He got four carries in the game, even though he started it.
32:59So it was a weird end of the season.
33:02I think that's a really weighing on people's memory.
33:05Well, there's, there's that he's, uh, he's 20, essentially 28 and a half.
33:10He was not incredibly efficient. It like yards per carry.
33:13We say it's not everything, but it is, it's a piece of the puzzle.
33:18He was right there at four over the first month, still electric for fantasy football.
33:23But I mean, three and a half, 3.7, 1.9, 3.9.
33:27I, I, I, and where I was going is he is the featured running back, but the health of the other running
33:34backs of the team is specifically Marshawn Lloyd, I think has kind of forced more work on Jacobs than, than maybe the Packers really want to give him.
33:44Um, now a bet on Marshawn Lloyd getting injured has been a hundred percent hit, right?
33:49Yeah. Uh, we have six total carries through two years for Marshawn Lloyd, but he's currently healthy.
33:55And I, you know, I've been reading from beat reporters over what's been taking place over the summer that he, he looks great.
34:03He is a talented back. He was a, he was a day two pick.
34:08He was pick 88 in the third round, Marshawn Lloyd.
34:11I really liked them, uh, at a USC, very explosive and they don't have explosiveness with Jacobs.
34:17So they need the, they need that speed. Um, they're not going to have it.
34:22I do. I refuse to believe three years into the career that Marsha, the greatest, you know, it's, it's said over and
34:30over the most important attribute in a football player, the most important ability is availability, right?
34:35He doesn't have it. And so sure. One path towards Josh Jacobs, not being good as Marshawn Lloyd.
34:41Uh, that's, that's an easy bet for me to take the other side.
34:46There's that there's just Jacobs, uh, getting older, perhaps slowing down.
34:50Uh, and then will the, with it, with the game scripts allow for what they did last year, like, because the defense was so dominant and, but.
34:59You know, it like at the end of the year when, when they lost Micah Parsons, they were a very, very different defense.
35:07So like over the first part of the season, do you see any in risk that, that Jacobs won't be producing?
35:14I, I don't, I think for fantasy football, he is, he's near a bell cow.
35:19He is always given the touchdown opportunities and converts them.
35:23He's still involved in the passing game. Uh, he's paid to be their main starter.
35:28And so I, I don't have a lot of fear.
35:31The fear is age and injury. Yeah. Yeah. So I mean, going right now is the running back 14.
35:38There are guys like when we did an early mock draft, we were talking about, we've got Amari and we drafted Amari and Hampton ahead of Josh Jacobs.
35:47And then we were looking at it and we're like, man, Josh Jacobs is just going to score more fantasy points.
35:54And that might be potentially true. I will say that the upside case at 29 is not, Josh Jacobs is not going
36:02to be a top three running back. He's not going to be a fantasy football breaker, which is why he's drafted as the running back 14 right now.
36:12Um, he can't do the high end, you know, outcome that some of these young bucks can do.
36:18Uh, but he will score a ton of fantasy points.
36:21I'm, I'm not even remotely worried about that. All right.
36:25The wide receiver position, it has been cleared as Romeo Dobbs is now a New England Patriot and Don Tavian Wicks is
36:32a Philadelphia Eagle leaving Christian Watson, Jaden Reed and Matthew Golden as your primary starting three wide receivers.
36:38How are I have expressed? I'm, I'm very interested in Christian Watson right now, especially when you talk about his price is going as the wide receiver 30.
36:48He just got another extension. He is, he is truly a curious case of, of a guy who doesn't really have a lot of statistics to his name.
36:58You know, as a rookie 611 yards, 422, 620, 611, a lot of that being injury related, you know, he's, he's capped
37:05out at 15 games a couple of years ago, but they keep paying him and they keep wanting him around and they,
37:13they were not, they were not aggressive in trying to bring Romeo Dobbs back and, and then trading wicks away.
37:19They're going forward with these, these three as their main wide receivers.
37:24How are you attacking the Packers wide receiver room?
37:27I think you app, I am attacking it. That's what I'm doing.
37:31The, the, you, you want all three of these guys.
37:34You, you want a piece. You want a shot because someone I think is going to be very relevant for fantasy.
37:41You still on Jaden Reed. Um, yeah, I, I do.
37:45I mean, last yet last episode, I took Jaden Reed over, over, uh, Matthew golden.
37:50I still want Matthew Golden as well. He's a first round, you know, second year player who is going to get the opportunity to be that dude.
37:59And I won't be surprised if like he comes out and he is the one he is the alpha.
38:06That's what they drafted him for the first time in whatever 10,000 years that they took a first round wide receiver.
38:13Optically it makes sense, but I would be pretty surprised.
38:16Well, I mean, there's a reason I can do, there's a reason I took Jaden Reed.
38:22We, we didn't like Matthew golden's collegiate tape. We were shocked that he was a first rounder.
38:28I had him as like a third round grade, which isn't bad, but it certainly isn't a star player.
38:34And then he really did get opportunities as a rookie and fail.
38:38I mean, Matthew golden. Here's a list of first round wide receivers over the last decade who failed to score a touchdown in the regular season.
38:47And keep in mind, he wasn't injured. He still failed to score a touchdown, right?
38:52Here's the list. Kevin white, Josh Doxon, uh, Laquan Treadwell, Corey Davis, Mike Williams, John Ross, Cadareous Tony and Matthew golden.
39:00So Mike Williams got it together. Corey Davis had a career and most of the list was bad considering that we went into last year.
39:08Not believe it. Hey, golden Laquan Treadwell is still in the league.
39:12That is unbelievable. What an accomplishment for a bad place.
39:16Kyle wants us to make sure. Yes. He scored a touchdown in the playoffs.
39:20Yes. We're talking about regular season, regular season. So, um, you, you want to take a bet here because nebulous wide receiver rooms on good offenses.
39:29You don't have to pay up for him. Right.
39:32Um, if I'm going to take a bet, the problem with Jaden Reed is not town.
39:38The problem with Jaden Reed is they refuse to play him in two wide receiver sets.
39:43If you're not on the field, you can't score fantasy points.
39:47So, which at some point you have to say there is a, you got to question something about the talent or at
39:55least the way that Matt LaFleur sees. I think they love how they use Jaden Reed.
40:00I don't see, I don't think they think of it as a negative.
40:05They think of him positively in the role he has.
40:08And so they've got that locked in. I don't, I don't necessarily think that's a lack of talent.
40:14I do think that there is a, a world where if they go halfway through the season and golden isn't getting it
40:22done and, or Christian Watson gets injured again. Now, all of a sudden Jane Reed isn't, you know, forced to be on the field to wide receiver sets.
40:31I think Jane Reed is a very good wide receiver.
40:35If he gets that opportunity, he'll do well, but we have to anticipate that Christian Watson and Matthew golden.
40:41Those are the two wide receivers on the field.
40:44The most in two wide receiver sets. Um, Christian Watson has proven a lot more than Matthew golden.
40:51So I, I take my bets, Christian Watson, Jaden Reed, Matthew golden in that order.
40:56Um, all three are worthy picks and fancy football for where they're going.
41:00They, you know, the, the risk is already baked in.
41:04All right. And then Tucker craft. Hey, see, now we've got to talk about a man.
41:09Oh, Tucker craft bully. Oh, it was happening. It was, he was their wide receiver one.
41:15It was happening. The breakout, you know, week two, the tight end one with six for 124 and a score has a
41:22couple down games, but then after the bi-week. So it's just, we, we talk about that a lot of it coming out of the bi-week.
41:31Like that's where teams can start making some adjustments out of the bi-week.
41:35Tucker craft tight end. Nine, seven, one gets the unfortunate injury, tears his ACL.
41:40So he's out for the remainder of the season.
41:43How I have kind of proclaimed. I'm just, I'm going to go for it.
41:48I'm going to say, screw it. I think he'll be ready at the beginning of the year.
41:54I can handle a couple slower games at the beginning of the season while Tucker craft is, is re acclimating, you know,
42:01starting trying to figure out if he trusts his knee or not.
42:05He's just, he's so dominant. He, his athleticism is off the charts.
42:09And I said, like, I like Jordan love there.
42:13I think the most realistic expectation for the Packers is, you know, a wash, rinse, repeat type of thing where it's, we
42:20try to win with, with the running game, but should things change and they call on Jordan love, you know, you had
42:28the Jordan love had that season that, you know, his first season, let me pull up the numbers, his first season as
42:35a starter complete 64% of his passes throws for over 4,100 yards and 32 touchdowns.
42:40Like Jordan love is very capable in this, especially in this offense to get it done.
42:46And there's a chance that that could open back up.
42:49But so where are you though? Jay with Tucker craft.
42:53Look, he's probably their best weapon. Um, if he, if he didn't get that injury with the knee, he would be drafted ahead of Colson Loveland right now.
43:02Because what he was doing, yeah, probably what he was doing last year.
43:07Um, he was on pace prior, prior, including before the bi-week.
43:10So the whole season prior to the knee, he was on pace for 1139 receiving yards.
43:16That number last year, only one tight end Trey McBride got over a thousand yards and he was on pace for 1139.
43:23You look back, there were some injuries last year, go back two years ago to see like, okay, uh, what is 1139 receiving yards?
43:32How does that factor in Brock Bowers, Trey McBride and George Kittle were the only wide receivers or only tight ends at 1100 yards.
43:40So he was in the alpha a tier, right?
43:43I think when we talk about this nebulous wide receiver room, the answer is probably Tucker craft.
43:49The whole issue is the knee. The whole issue is the timeline to come back.
43:54I don't think he will be at full strength week one.
43:58It does seem surprisingly, I mean, it's, it's less surprising now, but for the timeline and the expectation when the injury happened
44:05and then the off season seem like, well, Tucker craft's going to start the season on the pop.
44:11It doesn't seem like that. It seems like Tucker craft will be playing football in week one.
44:17I do think he gets off to a slightly so slow start, but if it's like last year where it's like, ah,
44:25you got to deal with four down weeks from a tight end.
44:29Uh, okay. You have to, whether you get him or not for most of them.
44:34Right. But then you have the opportunity to have a true breakout.
44:38I am totally fine. Uh, grabbing Tucker craft. He was, he was truly, uh, uh, a bully out there right now.
44:45He's going in about, you know, uh, the, the end of the sixth or, you know, middle of the sixth round or so.
44:53I think that's truly that that's acceptable for the amount of risk their first six games.
44:59Jay, they are favored in all of them. That is nice.
45:03Even starting favorite on the road, the road against Minnesota.
45:06On the road against the jets, almost a touchdown favorite.
45:09Oh my gosh. Jets, Atlanta, Tampa, Chicago, Dallas. Yeah, that those are, those are.
45:14And without Micah Parsons for that stretch is juicy.
45:17That is an interesting opening schedule for man. When you combine everything that's going on fantasy football wise in like draft cost for these guys.
45:26I mean, that, that is very intriguing to me.
45:29That's, that's a feather in the cap of Josh Jacobs.
45:32If you're favored in all those games and you're wearing those games, that's touchdowns, that's leads.
45:38Uh, that's the running game. All right. We're going to take a quick break and then we'll talk about the Vikings.
45:45They say Jack of all trades, master of none.
45:48Well, they haven't met the Kia Carnival hybrid. It's 10 year, 100,000 mile limited powertrain warranty or it's 242 horsepower engine.
45:55Maybe Jack should drive a multi-purpose Kia Carnival hybrid.

46:20Minnesota, nine and eight. Nine. Yeah. It's a curse.
46:23Nine. It's a blessing. Nine got them to nine and eight, beating their projected win total of eight and a half.
46:31In one score games, they were five and four.
46:34And, uh, unfortunately after week 13 or I'm sorry, not unfortunately the opposite.
46:38They were four and eight and then they won their final five games.
46:43That was enough for four of those five games with JJ McCarthy.
46:47I say that that was enough for the team to be like, ah, let's go get Kyler Murray.
46:53Yeah. We'll see what he could do. Uh, they played 10 games versus teams with a winning record.
46:59That's the most in the NFL league. The Viking season, what they were able to accomplish with what was going on.
47:06And I think that's solid. And that, that's a big shout out to KOC.
47:11Kevin O'Connell is a great coach. The coaching in this division is unfair to this division.
47:17Right. It's the only division in the NFL that is returning all four head coaches, I believe.
47:22And the reason they are is because they're all just so dang excellent.
47:27Like, I mean, I don't even know which one I'd like, who would you want the most of these four?
47:34Of the coaches? Of these coaches. I think I got my pick, but like if you get one coach to start a
47:41franchise, you can trade from any of these man, four teams.
47:45I think I'm, I think I'm taking O'Connell. Oh, okay.
47:48I think. Where are you taking? I think I'm going Dan Campbell.
47:53But I mean, there's no wrong answer here. There this year, their projected win total is eight and a half.
47:59So that's, that's not too shabby. Warren Sharp has them with the 17th toughest schedule.
48:05The defense was top tier. I mean, the defense is what was keeping them in games as their offensively points per game, 26, the yards per game, 28.
48:14Their last two wins they scored, well with JJ McCarthy, they scored 16 points in each of them.
48:20Wins. Nice. Yeah. That's getting it done. Defense very, very strong.
48:24But let's start with the quarterback position. Oh, gross.
48:27It is almost certainly going to be Kyler Murray.
48:30I, I know. Did you see the interview? Uh, I think it was, no, it wasn't Eisen.
48:36Um, but it was, uh, it was an interview with him and they were talking about the, he was talking about his competition at quarterback.
48:45Um, and McCarthy was or Kyler? Uh, no, uh, uh, uh, the head coach, uh, KOC O'Connell.
48:51Yeah. O'Connell was in an interview. Oh, okay. Um, who's Andy's favorite guy?
48:55I can't, I can't remember why I can't think of the broadcast name.
48:59Uh, uh, uh, Dan, Dan Patrick, Dan Patrick. Sorry, Dan Patrick.
49:03You're amazing. Dan Patrick was interviewing and Kevin O'Connell's like talking about the, uh, you know, is there, they're going to have
49:11this competition and Patrick's just like, yeah, I think Kyler Murray will be a very good quarterback for you this year.
49:18And then Kevin O'Connell just stares at him for five seconds, like death ray.
49:23He doesn't know how to respond. It was so awkward.
49:26So there is going to be a competition here.
49:29Kyler, everyone assumes Kyler will win it based on seeing JJ McCarthy.
49:33What I was saying is it's almost certainly Kyler.
49:36I don't think it's impossible. I know I've been running a bit of like, well, what if JJ McCarthy wins the job?
49:44It's not impossible. It isn't to me. Uh, like if you're in training camp and Kyler is like, Kyler can lose the job.
49:52Yes. He's just sort of better than McCarthy. Well, at that point, I don't know if I'm the coach, I'm just going
49:59to put McCarthy out there and, and see what happens for the first half of the year.
50:05But what we know is before JJ McCarthy quarterbacks for Kevin O'Connell are awesome.
50:10They're awesome for fantasy football. You know, we, in terms of their past percentage, they were 11th.
50:16Like this team throws the ball. O'Connell doesn't really care.
50:19We had Carson Wentz had a couple of games this year where he was just out there slinging it before he was just absolutely sacrificed on the field.
50:29But it's okay. Let's sit. Let's move forward. I would rather have put a dead battered, broken beaten down Carson Wentz out there than nine.
50:37I remember it was like, well, yeah, nine at he was hurt.
50:42And then we had a, what was a, uh, uh, Brosmer, Max Brosmer, which, who, when we got to see why he
50:49didn't, he wasn't been put on the field to remember.
50:53And I don't, I don't know. Maybe this was totally 100% fully legit.
50:57Um, it felt like the, towards the end of his ankle injury, JJ McCarthy, that it was like, he could be back and they just don't want.
51:06Do you remember? Like it was like, there was, it wasn't a soft benching that they were hiding behind an injury.
51:13There were rumors of that. Yeah. And we don't know for sure, but it certainly seemed like that.
51:20I mean, that was a long time for that injury.
51:23It's probably, yes. And that was definitely possible. But also in the, cause people are like, well, I didn't even see him get hurt.
51:31But then we saw the play where the, where what happened to his ankle.
51:36He's like, Oh no, that definitely he's hurt. It's just how bad is he hurt?
51:41Okay. So Kyler, let's say he gets the job.
51:44He does since, uh, since 2019, he has the fourth most rushing yards per game with, uh, with minimum 50 starts.
51:52You have Lamar fields hurts. And then there's Kyler with even, he's got more on average per game than Josh Allen.
51:59He's got amazing talent in the legs that if utilized, if coached well, he should be able to very much dominate for fantasy football.
52:07He's got better weapons than he's had in many, many years.
52:11And I think he's got a better coaching setup than he's had in many years.
52:16If, uh, Kyler comes out and is the quarterback seven this year, shouldn't be surprising to anyone.
52:22He's a late round dart throw right now that when you look at the values, if you don't want to take the
52:29Josh Allen early, what you, you know, you don't want to spend a third, fourth or fifth round pick on one of the known studs.
52:38Then the normal strategy is what late round mobile quarterbacks are available.
52:42Cause those are the ones that could really leapfrog to breaking fantasy.
52:46And so you got Jackson dart. Kyler Murray is definitely in that category.
52:50If he can get coached to run the ball better, more and less like a coward than, um, he should be good for fantasy.
52:59But she, he did run last year. I mean, he, he was right there with his average.
53:05Uh, he was where he was averaging 34 and a half rushing yards per game.
53:10Uh, so if it's, if it's Kyler, how do you feel about Justin Jefferson?
53:14You got to feel better. Um, you know, it's, it's one of those things where, you know, when Carson Wentz came in,
53:22uh, with Justin Jefferson, Justin Jefferson was, was fine.
53:25He was on pace for like 170 targets, 1600 receiving yards.
53:29You don't, that was a five game stretch. And you don't remember that because it was kind of mired in what was a terrible season.
53:37He finished as wide receiver 22, didn't miss a game, still had 141 targets.
53:42And it was just out of sorts. I, we've seen Kyler support Hopkins in the past.
53:48Um, and, and this is, you know, Hopkins in his prime and Justin Jefferson in his prime is better than Hopkins in his prime.
53:56So I do think that if Kyler is the quarterback, I'm much more confident in Justin Jefferson being back to a top end wide receiver.
54:05Now that the one thing worth knowing, Kyler does not throw touchdowns.
54:09Like, you know, he is going to be someone that you're hoping for 20 passing touchdowns.
54:14Um, and so the yardage should be there. The targets should be there.
54:19That is true. Kyler over his career, uh, 26 was his highest in terms of passing touchdowns for.
54:25So, um, I don't view Justin Jefferson obviously as a talent.
54:29You can put him right up in that top tier upper echelon, maybe the best wide receiver in football for fantasy purposes.
54:36In 2026. Um, I see him as a back end wide receiver one.
54:41Okay. Like seven, 12. And what if it's nine?
54:44Are you, if it's nine Jefferson, but not, I'm certainly not drafting Jefferson at cost.
54:49Cause he's not going to plummet in drafts. He's Justin freaking Jefferson.
54:53Um, you know, he's going to be up there high.
54:56And, uh, we, we had enough evidence last year, not that JJ can't get better, but I think where he's going in
55:04drafts, unless he's plummeting to a value. I mean, he's going, uh, every, you know, every place I've seen, he goes ahead of AJ Brown.
55:12I would rather have AJ Brown than Justin Jefferson by a country mile.
55:17Sure. The running back position. There's guys there. And you need to take a shot.
55:22And you need to take a shot. We got Aaron Jones.
55:26He is back. He's going as the running back 36.
55:29Jordan Mason is going as the running back 43.
55:32Now when Aaron Jones returned from, uh, like he, he got a little bit banged up, but from week eight on, he averaged over 15 opportunities per game.
55:42That's a 32% uh, workhorse rating. Like he was getting a bunch of opportunities.
55:47This is a team you, you want to take a shot.
55:50I, I, I still fluctuate between the two of them who I really prefer between Jones and Jordan Mason.
55:57Just Jordan Mason's the better on the ground, but we know we want our fantasy running backs to catch the ball, which Aaron Jones can still do that.
56:07Even. Even. I mean, he's. You want to talk about old Aaron Jones is 31.
56:12So it's Aaron Jones senior now. And he didn't have a kid.
56:16They, he just got old enough where they said, uh, okay, you want senior on the Jersey?
56:22Okay. Yeah, that's fine. So I, this is going to be a good offense is my projection of, so I would be taking shots on those two guys.
56:31It would in the draft yesterday or, uh, the last, uh, episode in our mock, you, we, we both took these guys.
56:39Mm-hmm. Um, at, towards the end of the round and you had the first opportunity, you chose Aaron Jones.
56:45Yes. Had I been in your spot, I would have taken Jordan Mason.
56:50Okay. I think some of the quotes that I've seen coming out, um, not just, I, I saw a quote, um, from,
56:57uh, Matthew Collar, a Minnesota insider that was talking about how this is Jordan Mason's backfield.
57:03Aaron Jones will spell and eat into passing notes.
57:06I, but I, he, he responded to me on Twitter and he's like, he wanted to walk that back a little bit.
57:13Sure. Those aren't the quotes though, that make me believe it is going to be Jordan Mason.
57:19It was actually Kevin O'Connell talking about how they have to fix the running game this year.
57:25They were really, really, really upset with the running game last year and they need to figure out a more permanent solution.
57:33And, um, I just don't know at this stage of the career, if you can fix it and really have a permanent
57:40solution with Aaron Jones senior at 32 years old being the cure.
57:44And I think Jordan Mason could, if they can figure out how to utilize his skillset a little better.
57:51And so that's why I'm putting Jordan Mason ahead, but, um, both should have a shot taken on them.
57:57Uh, other wide receivers, Jordan Addison, he's still there.
58:00They did bring Jawan Jennings into the fold on a one year deal.
58:05I honestly don't think there's a lot to talk about.
58:08No, it's Justin Jefferson. And then, and, and Hey, TJ Hawkinson.
58:12Oh man, he got old so quick. He got old.
58:15So, so quick. It, it was, it was really, really fast.
58:19He is 29 years old. No man. He feels like he's 43.
58:23He really does. Um, I haven't seen him recently, but I assume he, his beard is entirely gray.
58:29It's gotta be, it has to be at 29 years old.
58:33Um, you know, he was always hockey leaves or Hawk strap.
58:37I think he's Hawk strap. Now. Um, this is a guy who, uh, served his purpose.
58:43He was a top five tight end three times, uh, in his first five years.
58:48But you know, he, he just doesn't have, I mean, 8.6 yards per catch last year.
58:53I see more of the same. It's dink and dunk it's volume.
58:57Um, he's just 8.6. Yeah. I mean, it's, I don't, I don't care.
59:02I don't care about Hawkinson Detroit lions. They were nine and eight.
59:06They did not meet their projected win total of 10 and a half.
59:10They were three and five and one score games.
59:13They were the second most injured team in the NFL.
59:17Number one. When you're talking about the defense. Oh man, it was, they were really, really beat up.
59:23And then already this off season, they cut a guy.
59:26Oh, for kidnapping. Um, that's a new one. Uh, yeah.
59:30Uh, it's like their, their curse on the defense.
59:33I feel like this is a couple of years in a row where you look, you look and you go, wow, they could have a really good defense.
59:43Nope. Psych. Like, it's just, I think they'll, I think they'll be much, much better on the defensive side of the ball.
59:50Vegas agrees projected win total 10 and a half and Warren sharp has them listed as the easiest strength of schedule this year.
59:58They are favored in 14 of their first 15 games.
60:01Yeah. I mean, this was one of the advantages that the Chicago bears had last year.
60:07They had the fourth place schedule. But when you finish last in a division, you get the best schedule.
60:13And when you're like second or third in a division, it really doesn't matter.
60:18The, the meat of the NFL teams are the, you know, the, there's, there's so much parody in the NFL that any team can beat any team.
60:27But when you get the fourth place and you get the, you're getting the losers, you're getting a couple of your extra
60:35games that you get that other people don't get are against the losers.
60:39And those guys are like the, the giants, Tennessee and Arizona.
60:43Yeah. So, um, uh, spoiler, I'm going to put the Detroit lions first in the division at the end because I think
60:51that their schedule, all these teams are good. And their schedule is easy enough where I expect them to, to win the most games.
60:59Jared golf always puts up incredible passing numbers. Sometimes he's really, really good for fantasy.
61:04Uh, last year he finished as the, the QB nine.
61:08I mean, he just, he'll finish in the top 10.
61:11Yes. But it's, he will, he will accumulated enough stats by the end to be a top 10 guy and don't draft them on the last two years.
61:21Like his bust games. They're very low, but the great games are, he just, he lives in good for, for the most of the time.
61:29He, he will have some spike weeks from time to time, but he's really more of a consistency chart.
61:36Um, his consistency score, which is the percentage of games where you exceed basically a, a, a, just a good total in
61:43four point passing touchdown leagues is 35% of his games.
61:47He does that it's a D and this is for a guy who ironically, his season long consistency is always there.
61:54He was the quarterback eight and he was a D in consistency.
61:58You don't want him as your weekly every week starter.
62:01What you do want is pick them up off of waivers, play them in the, the right barn burner matchup against great offense at home.
62:10Uh, those, those type of environments. And yeah, we'll see if their defense fixes that it'll be even tougher.
62:16But if they're, if their defense kind of collapses and gets hurt again, then, then golf will be more in play.
62:24Aiden Hutchinson is healthy. Yeah. Uh, Jameer Gibbs is the talk of the off season as David Montgomery is now on the Houston Texans.
62:32He is, Jameer Gibbs is electric. He is either he's everybody's either running back one or running back two.
62:38Honestly, I don't have a lot to say about Jameer Gibbs because he's just, he's that good.
62:44He's either the first or like he won't make it out of the top three.
62:49You know, we had a, we did a three wide receiver mock camp.
62:54Believe him third. No, I got, wait, did I get Gibbs or Bijon?
62:58I thought I got Bijon. Well, it, it doesn't matter.
63:02He is, he's going to be great. Just, just draft him.
63:05There's really not a lot to break down here, but let's talk about your guy, Jason.
63:11Sam Laporta, your favorite tight end from someone you just were dunking on nonstop for the beginning of the off season to a player.
63:19You can't stop drafting. Well, it really is opportunity cost.
63:23I refuse to take a middle round tight end.
63:26It is terrible strategy. You are, you are deleting opportunities to take players at wide receiver and running back who can really end up making an impact.
63:35They don't all make an impact, but you get more opportunities, more lottery tickets to grab that running back or wide receiver
63:42in the middle rounds who does break out, who was George Pickens last year, who, you know, just really makes a huge difference.
63:50Whereas, Laporta in those rounds will not make a huge difference versus the field.
63:55Um, I, I've talked about that analytically ad nauseum, but he's not in the middle of, he's not in the middle rounds anymore.
64:03He's not the fifth tight end off the board anymore.
64:06And he is talented enough. He is on an offense good enough.
64:11He has the touchdown opportunities enough where he checks all the boxes.
64:15This was never an anti-Laporta. This was, uh, Laporta's not a difference maker over average tight ends to give up opportunity cost in middle rounds.
64:23He's been slipping. I've got him in the ninth round, the 10th round.
64:28I love that. I love getting Laporta. If I'm near the double digit rounds where I'm not giving up that much.
64:35Now he does make a little difference. I would much rather have him than Kyle Pitts.
64:40Um, you know, but, um, it doesn't, it doesn't cost you much.
64:45So I, I, I think if Laporta stays cheap, I am in.
64:49It's so funny. Which transitions nice into this conversation about Jamison Williams because Jamison Williams, when Laporta is off the field, is
64:56an absolute demon and puts up huge points. We're talking a split from 48 yards per game.
65:02When, when Laporta plays with Jamison Williams. And then when Laporta is off the field, Jamison is up to 85 yards per game.
65:10The issue with that statistic is that there were two things that happened.
65:14One Laporta got injured. And so Jamo was way better.
65:18And so it looks, you know, like, wow, when he's off the field, that's what caused it.
65:24But the other thing that happened was Dan Campbell was really unhappy.
65:28You know, they lost Ben Johnson and they, they didn't have an answer at offensive coordinator or play calling.
65:34He took over the play calling duties. He's, he did not like how they were involving these weapons of theirs.
65:41And all of a sudden they involved Jamison Williams.
65:44He was great. And so it's probably a both, but it could be an either or.
65:50It could just be, look, with Laporta not there, Goff was, Goff looked to his next read.
65:55And that next read was Jamison Williams. And he exploded.
65:59It could be solely that Dan Campbell was like, we've got to get the ball in this explosive player's hands more.
66:06And so I'm going to call plays for it.
66:09We don't know, but I don't think we can just assume it is when Laporta's off the field.
66:15Andy would be upset. He's missing here. Andy. Wide receiver 27.
66:19Are you interested in Jamison? So I have a really difficult time with Jamison.
66:24I'm not. And Andy would totally be in. I, I don't know.
66:28Fantasy philosophy. Talk to me about this, Mike, because I find that I don't really love the boom bust guys.
66:35Okay. The guys who will win you a week, but they'll lose you a week.
66:40And that, that is Jamison Williams. He'll finish way above wide receiver 27.
66:44Like he will. So if you're drafting him as the 27th wide receiver off the board and all that matters is that
66:52he finishes higher than wide receiver 27, that's a great pick.
66:56The process of getting to those fantasy points is not always fun because you're going to have games where he just disappears.
67:03I don't know that, that I enjoy those types.
67:06Andy does enjoy those types. Where do you stand and who's like, what is the right way to think about it?
67:14I mean, it, you can build your teams in different ways.
67:17I'm, I like those types of players because when they aren't.
67:21I think I'm a chicken. When they're not an early pick, you know, like when my draft capital is, is burned on
67:29them, but in the back of the fifth or the early sixth round, Jamison Williams, I think he's a really solid pick
67:36that you, I like to have players. Those, the, you know, the, the nitro, you put them in the flex or it's your wide receiver.
67:45He, he could be your wide receiver three and that would be like, that's a scary combination of if you have two
67:52better receivers and then Jamison's your third. Yes. That was so, and with just roster construction.
67:58So that's how I prefer to construct my roster.
68:01Uh, so I'm, I'm in, I think Jamison Williams is, I think he's a good pick.
68:06I, I, I don't mind it. I mean, look, this is an offense that should score an absolute magma amount of points.
68:14You know, this is like, we talk about the Packers.
68:17The Packers are a good offense or top half offense, maybe a top third offense.
68:23This is one of those teams where I expect them to score a ton of points.
68:28You want players on here. Uh, the team should be somehow even more explosive without David Montgomery.
68:34Uh, you know, no, at no fault to him and all credit to Jameer Gibbs.
68:39I saw a stat about like the per game fantasy points of every player in the history of, um, and I, I
68:47don't, I don't remember who tweeted this out. It was neat.
68:50I'm sorry. I can't give you credit, but I also can't even quote you accurately because this is just off the dome.
68:58So what, um, but it was basically the per game fantasy points.
69:02Are you saying anything right? Eh, not really. Per game fantasy points for like all players, LaDainian Tomlinson, Christian McCaffrey.
69:09And then one of the players was Jameer Gibbs in games without David Montgomery.
69:14Oh, okay. And he was lapping the field. Yeah.
69:17LaDainian Tomlinson, Christian McCaffrey. They had nothing on him.
69:20So it is a really exciting prospect with this offense without David Montgomery.
69:24Yeah. Uh, it's also worth saying. And I, I, I talked about on the, on the mock draft at the end, uh,
69:32last episode, Isaiah Pacheco is not good, but this offense, this offensive line is good.
69:37If Gibbs goes down, someone will have a ton of opportunities to score touchdowns.
69:42David Montgomery, Montgomery is vacating 34 red zone carries and 14 inside the five.
69:47He's vacating. That's wild. A hundred and 58 rushing attempts as well.
69:51There, you cannot give David, you cannot give Gibbs all that the lions did last year.
69:56The running game of the lions cannot all go to Gibbs.
70:00He'll die. So there, there will be someone else of relevance.
70:04Um, and then certainly a, uh, an important insurance back, which right now appears to be Pacheco.
70:09All right. So put the other three teams in order of the division, Jay.
70:14For me, it's going to go, um, this one in what is maybe the most difficult division seems very clear cut to me.
70:22Uh, it goes lions, Packers, bears, Vikings. That's how I have it too.
70:27Oh, all right. Clear to both of us. No, sorry.
70:30We can't argue about it. That's going to do it for today's show.
70:35The NFC South on Tuesday. Andy will be back.
