A.J. Brown

NegativeDepth Chart19:30

AJ Brown is out for the Eagles, contributing to the team's offensive personnel losses alongside Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith, and Dallas Goddert. The Eagles are now tied for the second-lowest implied team total in week five.

Insight page

Amon-Ra St. Brown

PositiveProjection47:15

Amon-Ra St. Brown ranks third among wide receivers in current fantasy scoring, maintaining elite production at the position.

Insight page

Blake Corum

PositiveRole3:00

Blake Corum is the elite insurance back for Kyron Williams. If Kyron were to go down to injury, Blake Corum would likely be even better than Kyron is right now, making him a rare insurance back situation where the backup would actually improve the team's fantasy output. Corum is worth aggressively pursuing on waivers or in trades if you own Kyron Williams.

Insight page

Brian Robinson

PositiveProjection32:00

Scored three touchdowns in Monday night game, which would have won a fantasy matchup for a team in desperate need; anecdote illustrates Robinson's upside in high-leverage situations.

Insight page

Brock Bowers

NegativeProjection49:00

Brock Bowers ranks eighth among tight ends in current fantasy scoring, a significant drop from typical rookie tight end expectations, suggesting limited production or role constraints.

Insight page

Brock Purdy

PositiveProjection46:06

Brock Purdy is ranked second among quarterbacks at the quarter mark of the season, delivering elite production.

Insight page

Bryce Young

PositiveProjection46:06

Bryce Young is ranked fourth among quarterbacks at the quarter mark of the season, indicating strong performance relative to preseason expectations.

Insight page

Bucky Irving

NegativeUsage25:01

Guaranteed 15-17 rushing attempts and opportunities per game; had 16 carries last week against Dallas' 21st-ranked rushing defense; however, zero targets last week is a concern until Baker Mayfield returns, at which point receiving volume should improve.

Insight page

C.J. Stroud

PositiveProjection35:15

CJ Stroud looks good; Texans' offense is functional with Niko Hines on the field, suggesting improved passing and running game efficiency.

Insight page

Cade Otton

PositiveUsage28:07

Leads the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in receiving yards; speaker notes this as evidence that the team's offense is broken, but Otton's receiving volume makes him a viable option in a struggling passing attack.

Insight page

CeeDee Lamb

PositiveProjection29:05

Speaker recommends playing Lamb against Tampa Bay; Dallas' offense is favored by over a touchdown and has the most red zone touchdowns (slower, methodical drives) despite ranking 30th in 20+ yard completions, suggesting Lamb will see consistent volume in the red zone.

Insight page
PositiveProjection47:15

CeeDee Lamb ranks among the top wide receivers in current fantasy scoring, maintaining elite status at the position.

Insight page

Chris Godwin

NegativeUsage23:12

Received the vast majority of Jalen Daniels' passing attempts last week, with most targets coming in the flat; limited downfield passing attack suggests Godwin's volume is concentrated in short-range routes.

Insight page

Chris Olave

PositiveProjection51:51

Olave is elite and worth acquiring in trades; the source would trade Jefferson for Olave in a heartbeat. Olave's production is driven by the Saints' pace of play, lack of a running game, and shut-down capabilities, forcing the team to put up points through the air.

Insight page

Christian Watson

NegativeRole10:00

Christian Watson remains the higher-ceiling fantasy option for the Packers compared to Matthew Golden due to his superior touchdown upside, though Golden now leads or matches him in snap counts and routes. Watson has an inherent injury concern that has been mitigated by recent workouts and on-field performance. The Packers offense is consolidated around Golden, Watson, and Tucker Kraft.

Insight page
PositiveProjection48:00

Christian Watson ranks sixth among wide receivers in current fantasy scoring, maintaining a top-six position at the position.

Insight page

Chuba Hubbard

PositiveBreakout45:00

Kyron Williams identifies Chuba Hubbard as his biggest miss from preseason projections; Williams was skeptical and wanted nothing to do with the Panthers situation, citing concerns about the team environment beyond just Jonathan Brooks' potential, but Hubbard has performed awesomely, representing a significant positive deviation from preseason expectations.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

NegativeUsage14:12

Colston Loveland is running fewer routes than Rome Odunze and Cleef Raymond for the Bears, indicating limited involvement in the passing game relative to other pass catchers.

Insight page

Dak Prescott

PositiveProjection29:05

Dak looks good; Dallas' offense is favored by over a touchdown against Tampa and has the most red zone touchdowns, indicating strong offensive efficiency and scoring potential.

Insight page

Dallas Goedert

NegativeDepth Chart19:30

Dallas Goddert is out for the Eagles, contributing to the team's offensive personnel losses alongside Saquon Barkley, AJ Brown, and DeVonta Smith. The Eagles are now tied for the second-lowest implied team total in week five.

Insight page

Darius Cooper

NegativeDepth Chart20:00

Darius Cooper was signed to the Eagles' roster as a depth piece, likely in response to the team's offensive personnel losses.

Insight page

David Montgomery

NegativeProjection35:15

Tied for 39th in yards per carry; had only 4.3 fantasy points despite Texans scoring 30 points on Dallas; opportunities declining sharply (6, 11, 10 carries over last three weeks); speaker is moving him down in all rankings (weekly, rest of season, dynasty) and describes him as a 'landmine' and 'David Crappertunity'; however, still rostered because he is a starting running back and cannot be dropped.

Insight page

Derrick Henry

PositiveProjection46:44

Derrick Henry ranks fourth among running backs in current fantasy scoring, indicating strong recent production and continued relevance in the position.

Insight page
PositiveProjection46:48

Derrick Henry is ranked fourth among running backs at the quarter mark of the season, delivering strong production.

Insight page

DeVonta Smith

NegativeDepth Chart19:30

DeVonta Smith is out for the Eagles, contributing to the team's offensive personnel losses alongside Saquon Barkley, AJ Brown, and Dallas Goddert. The Eagles are now tied for the second-lowest implied team total in week five.

Insight page

DK Metcalf

PositiveValue15:00

DK Metcalf is getting a high volume of targets but is not producing at an elite level. In direct comparison, Rome Odunze is preferable to Metcalf in current form, despite Metcalf's target volume. The implication is that Metcalf's target share does not translate to fantasy production at the level expected.

Insight page
NegativeProjection41:48

Speaker prefers Luther Burden over Metcalf rest of season; Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers offense will not improve as the season progresses, whereas Caleb Williams' return will elevate the Bears offense.

Insight page

Drake London

PositiveProjection52:17

London is ranked very high for the rest of the season, projected as top-five as long as Michael Penix retains the starting job; his play-action game creates massive separation at the second level, with defenders not even close to him.

Insight page

Drake Maye

NegativeMatchup52:57

Drake May is favored over Tyler Shuck this week in a start/sit decision; the source prefers May against Las Vegas over Shuck against Minnesota's difficult defense, citing concern that Minnesota's defense prevents the kind of high-ceiling week (three touchdowns) that makes Shuck appealing.

Insight page

George Kittle

PositiveProjection48:30

George Kittle ranks first among tight ends in current fantasy scoring and leads the position in touchdowns; the source emphasizes stopping betting against him due to his elite production.

Insight page

George Pickens

PositiveProjection29:05

Caught a downfield ball for 70+ yards on two catches last week; has drawn 2-3 pass interference penalties; Dallas' defense has not hit explosive pass plays yet (30th in 20+ yard completions), but Pickens' ability to create downfield plays suggests he will eventually break through.

Insight page
NegativeValue51:51

Pickens is viewed as expendable in a trade; the source would easily trade Pickens and Jalen Coker to acquire Chris Olave, suggesting Pickens is underperforming relative to Olave's elite production.

Insight page

Golden Tate

PositiveBreakout44:42

Golden Tate has looked great and exceeded preseason expectations; the opportunity was present, and the question was whether the player could capitalize on it—he has delivered on that opportunity.

Insight page

J.K. Dobbins

NegativeRole4:08

J.K. Dobbins has not looked good and has been out-snapped by R.J. Harvey in recent weeks. He recorded 17 carries for 49 yards two weeks ago and appears to be fighting through injury. The Broncos' short-yardage offensive scheme does not suit his skill set, and he is losing work to Harvey despite preseason expectations.

Insight page
PositiveValue39:00

Speaker is moving Dobbins up in rankings, ahead of David Montgomery, suggesting improved outlook and better value than the struggling Texans back.

Insight page

Jalen Coker

NegativeValue51:51

Coker is viewed as expendable in a trade package; the source would easily trade Coker and George Pickens to acquire Chris Olave, suggesting Coker is underperforming relative to Olave's elite production.

Insight page

Jalon Daniels

PositiveProjection23:12

23% of Daniels' attempts were off-target last week, second-highest rate on the slate; remaining 76% of passes went primarily to Chris Godwin in the flat, indicating a severely limited and ineffective passing attack against Dallas' weak defense.

Insight page

Jamaal Williams

NegativeDepth Chart21:00

Jamal Williams was brought in by the Patriots for a workout as a potential backup to Ramondre Stevenson. The Lions declined to sign him despite having no depth behind Jameer Gibbs.

Insight page
NegativeDepth Chart21:40

Patriots brought in free agent Jamal Williams for a workout following Ramondre Stevenson's injury; speaker notes that even the Lions, who lack depth behind Jameer Gibbs, declined to sign Williams, suggesting limited upside.

Insight page

James Cook

NegativeProjection46:44

James Cook ranks tenth among running backs in current fantasy scoring, a significant drop from typical expectations for a lead back, suggesting reduced production or role concerns.

Insight page
NegativeProjection46:48

James Cook is ranked tenth among running backs at the quarter mark of the season, underperforming relative to typical preseason expectations for a high-draft-capital back.

Insight page

Jared Goff

PositiveProjection46:06

Jared Goff is ranked fifth among quarterbacks at the quarter mark of the season, delivering strong production.

Insight page
PositiveProjection46:31

Jared Goff is ranked fifth among quarterbacks in current fantasy scoring, reflecting strong recent performance and consistency in the position.

Insight page

Jayden Daniels

PositiveProjection19:00

Jaden Daniels is on track to start for the Commanders in week five against the Giants, marking his return from injury.

Insight page

Joe Mixon

NegativeInjury17:00

Joe Mixon failed a physical with the Seahawks after agreeing to terms, raising serious concerns about his foot injury. He missed the entire 2023 season with this foot injury and still cannot pass a physical after a year and a half off. At age 30, teams may be hesitant to bring him in for workouts given the severity and duration of the injury. His return timeline is uncertain and could be weeks, months, or potentially next year.

Insight page

Jonathan Taylor

PositiveProjection46:44

Jonathan Taylor ranks fifth among running backs in current fantasy scoring, maintaining a top-five position at the position.

Insight page
PositiveValue53:55

Jonathan Taylor is mentioned as a potential trade target for teams struggling at 1-3 or 0-4 who need immediate help; the source suggests that acquiring Taylor to play this week plus additional assets could be a worthwhile trade for Ken Walker, indicating Taylor's value as a bye-week fill-in for contending teams.

Insight page

Josh Allen

PositiveProjection46:06

Josh Allen is ranked first among quarterbacks at the quarter mark of the season, maintaining elite production.

Insight page

Kenneth Gainwell

NegativeUsage27:30

Yards per attempt over the last two weeks: negative 1.3 and 1.7, averaging 0.4 yards per carry; speaker explicitly states 'You literally cannot hand the ball off to Kenny Gainwell,' indicating he is not a viable option in Tampa's offense.

Insight page

Kirk Cousins

PositiveProjection46:06

Kirk Cousins is ranked sixth among quarterbacks at the quarter mark of the season, delivering strong production.

Insight page

Kyren Williams

PositiveUsage2:12

Kyron Williams has seen rising snap counts in critical situations: 39 snaps in week one, 34 in week two, 61 in week three, and 70 in week four. He is the primary back when the team needs a play, drive, two-minute drill, or comeback situation, consistently making plays and winning games. Blake Corum has been relegated to 13-28 snaps in recent weeks, primarily used when the team is ahead and protecting leads.

Insight page

Lamar Jackson

NegativeProjection45:46

Lamar Jackson is not in the top five quarterbacks at the quarter mark of the season, representing underperformance relative to typical preseason expectations.

Insight page
NegativeInjury50:35

Lamar Jackson is unlikely to play in the upcoming game; the most recent injury report indicates he will not be available, affecting the Ravens' passing game and dependent receivers.

Insight page

Luther Burden

NegativeRole14:12

Luther Burden has seen declining snap counts relative to Rome Odunze. Week four: 47 snaps compared to Odunze's 83. Burden is running fewer routes than Odunze and Cleef Raymond. The Bears' quarterback uncertainty (three different QBs in four weeks) makes it difficult to assess his role going forward.

Insight page
PositiveProjection41:48

Speaker takes Burden 'pretty handily' over DK Metcalf rest of season; Caleb Williams will return and elevate the Bears offense, whereas Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers offense will not improve; best players emerge when healthy, making Burden the preferred long-term asset.

Insight page

MarShawn Lloyd

PositiveValue39:00

Speaker prefers Lloyd over David Montgomery; Lloyd is catching passes and has more upside despite being tied at 2.7 yards per carry with Montgomery.

Insight page

Matthew Golden

PositiveBreakout10:00

Matthew Golden has emerged as the clear snap leader for Packers wide receivers through four weeks, matching or surpassing Christian Watson in snaps every week except week four (53 to 41). He is the league leader in penalties drawn with 97 pass interference yards, more than double second place. Golden has scored multiple touchdowns this year after scoring none last year, and his target totals and production level indicate a legitimate breakout. He is 13th in fantasy points per game and likely to finish 18-22 in PPG. Comparisons to other receivers suggest Golden is preferable to Debo Samuel, Michael Wilson, Emeka Abuka, and Lad McConkie, though Christian Watson remains the better fantasy option due to higher touchdown upside.

Insight page
PositiveMatchup50:42

Golden is favored as a start against Chicago in a high-scoring game; the Packers defense is underperforming while Atlanta's defense is strong, making this a favorable matchup for Golden.

Insight page

Michael Penix Jr.

PositiveRole52:17

Penix's job security is critical to Drake London's fantasy value; as long as Penix keeps the starting job, London is projected to be top-five for the rest of the season.

Insight page

Ollie Gordon II

PositiveValue39:00

Speaker strongly prefers Ollie Gordon over David Montgomery, stating 'Not even close,' indicating significant gap in value and production outlook.

Insight page

Patrick Mahomes

PositiveProjection50:00

Patrick Mahomes ranks ninth in overall fantasy scoring, maintaining elite status among quarterbacks despite not being in the top five at the position.

Insight page

Rhamondre Stevenson

NegativeInjury21:00

Ramondre Stevenson limped off the field at the end of the game, prompting the Patriots to bring in free agent Jamal Williams for a workout. His injury status is uncertain.

Insight page
NegativeInjury21:37

Limped off the field at the end of the Patriots game; Patriots subsequently brought in free agent Jamal Williams for a workout, suggesting potential depth chart concern if Stevenson's injury is significant.

Insight page

RJ Harvey

PositiveUsage4:08

R.J. Harvey has emerged as the snap count leader for the Broncos running backs, out-snapping J.K. Dobbins in recent weeks. Week three: 33 snaps to Dobbins' 24; week four: 29 snaps to Dobbins' 21, with Tyler Paday at 12. Harvey is the current beneficiary of the Broncos' short-yardage, high-volume passing offense and is a start-of-the-week candidate despite the offense's aesthetic limitations.

Insight page
PositiveValue39:00

Speaker is moving Harvey ahead of David Montgomery in rankings, suggesting improved value and production outlook.

Insight page

Rome Odunze

PositiveUsage14:12

Rome Odunze has emerged as the clear snap leader for Bears wide receivers since week two. Week two: 62 snaps to 42-46 for next highest; week three: 61 to 54; week four: 83 snaps to 52 for next highest. He is clearly the primary X receiver for the Bears and is getting the routes and snaps. Despite no touchdowns and uncertainty around the Bears' quarterback situation (three different QBs in four weeks), Odunze is a buy-low candidate with elite opportunity. He is preferable to DK Metcalf in current form.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeDepth Chart19:30

Saquon Barkley is out for the Eagles, contributing to the team's offensive personnel losses alongside AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Dallas Goddert. The Eagles are now tied for the second-lowest implied team total in week five.

Insight page
PositiveProjection46:34

Saquon Barkley is ranked first among running backs at the quarter mark of the season, representing predictable elite production.

Insight page

Tony Pollard

PositiveValue39:00

Speaker prefers Pollard over David Montgomery, indicating Pollard has better value and production outlook.

Insight page

Travis Kelce

PositiveProjection49:15

Travis Kelce ranks fifth among tight ends in current fantasy scoring, maintaining elite status at the position despite age and recent production questions.

Insight page

Trey McBride

PositiveProjection49:00

Trey McBride ranks second among tight ends in current fantasy scoring, maintaining elite status at the position.

Insight page

Tucker Kraft

NegativeRole10:00

Tucker Kraft is part of the consolidated Packers offense alongside Matthew Golden and Christian Watson. He had a goal-line play opportunity after Christian Watson dropped the ball in recent weeks.

Insight page

Woody Marks

NegativeUsage35:15

Running for 3.1 yards per carry, similar to David Montgomery's 2.7 YPC; both Texans running backs are struggling, but Marks appears to have more juice and upside than Montgomery.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

NegativeMatchup49:41

With Lamar Jackson's status uncertain due to an unconventional ankle injury, Flowers faces a downgrade in quarterback play; in the second half against a strong defense, Flowers recorded negative yardage (two catches for negative yards) when the Ravens were up big and stopped running plays.

Insight page
NegativeMatchup50:15

Zay Flowers' fantasy viability is uncertain due to Lamar Jackson's injury status; the Ravens play Sunday night, which may provide clarity on Lamar's availability before start/sit decisions must be made.

0:00Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast with your hosts, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore and Mike Wright.
0:05Welcome in! Wednesday, October 7th. Welcome into the show, the Fantasy Footballers Podcast.
0:10Mike, the Fantasy Hitman, Jason Moore, Andy Holloway. Got a great show for you today.
0:15Okay, waivers going through this morning. Desperate people in our chopped league trying to survive.
0:20Which is, I mean, that's the fun of guillotine chopped leagues is watching people squirm.
0:24I mean, Mike doesn't have to watch them anymore.
0:27They suck. What a terrible league format. Moving on.
0:30Yeah, yeah. No need to talk. Somebody's recently departed.
0:33Are you still around, Papa Josh? I am indeed.
0:36You are? You're not cut? Oh, I thought you meant it at work.
0:41Okay. I'm like, I'm here. We know you are here.
0:44And we are recording. Okay. That's step two. How about the chopped league?
0:48Are you still in it? No, I'm not in that at all.
0:52What about you, Matt? Are you still in it?
0:55Yep. Okay. Good. Nice to see you still have not adjusted your volume for public consumption.
1:01We have... Hey, it's me, Matt. Hey. Blah. Blah.
1:03Blah. What do we got at the top here?
1:06We've got our top five people in the Megalobowl.
1:09We're four weeks into the year. Oh. Pretty strange flowers up at 670 points in the Megalobowl.
1:15Steven, and then it looks like Delta, DJ, and...
1:18I can't pronounce that. Ruff. Rux. Oh, that looks like Rau FF.
1:22Well, there's an X in there, Mike. Yeah. But the X, when the X is silent?
1:27Silent X? I don't know. Yeah. Jason was nodding with me.
1:31I think you might be right there. Yeah. Rau.
1:34Rau. Is there a lot of... There's a lot of silent Xs out there?
1:39There's a few. Yeah. Instagram.com slash... Ever heard of the word xylophone?
1:42I have. I have heard of that word. It starts with a Z.
1:47Instagram.com slash fantasyfootballers on X at the FF Ballers of Communities.
1:50Join the foot.com. We do have... We got a little fun segment here at the top.
1:56Make it snappy. Oh. Oh, that finish. It felt scary.
1:59Here we go. We're looking at players... I manipulate your emotions.
2:03You do. You do. We are looking at players with rising snaps and opportunities, going through a number of positions, just taking
2:10a look at a few guys, starting with Kyron Williams.
2:13Mm-hmm. Uh, Kyron Williams. The breakdown... In week one, it was a lot of Kyron.
2:1839 snaps to 14. In week two, it was really close.
2:2234 to 28. That was against the Giants. And then in week three, 61-25.
2:26Last week, to survive on the comeback trail, you saw where the team put their priorities.
2:3270 snaps for Kyron, 13 for Blake Corum. Jason said something yesterday I thought was dead on, which is you're going to
2:39see a lot more Blake Corum in games where...
2:42where we thought the team would be, which was ahead, and trying to protect leads, and they'd split some of that work.
2:49But when this team needs a play, a drive, a two-minute drill, a comeback, their main man not only is out there on the field, but performed...
2:58Like, he won the game for them. I mean, Kyron consistently made plays last week, and you saw the snap counts diminish for Blake Corum.
3:06You know, is he still one of the top priority insurance backs?
3:10Of course. Of course he is. Yeah, but like, what level?
3:14Are you trying to get him? If you have Kyron, or are you just riding, uh, riding dirty?
3:20I mean, I'm... I'm trying to get him. Because, uh, he represents...
3:24Like, if he's alone, it's a massive... It's a massive fantasy output.
3:28Yeah, I mean, I would say that usually, um, most of the time when you have an insurance back, if your starter
3:35goes down, oh, okay, good, I've got someone I can play, but they don't get better.
3:41You don't... Your team doesn't get better when that happens.
3:44The team gets worse. So it's like, oh, I go from my starter down to my second-tier player.
3:50This is one of the rare situations where, I think if Kyron were to go down to injury, Blake Corum, by himself,
3:57without Kyron, would be even better than Kyron is right now.
4:01So I would definitely, if I'm the manager of Kyron Williams, I would be going pretty aggressively to try to secure Corum.
4:08Uh, R.J. Harvey. Let's talk about the 10-target man.
4:11Hmm. Is this something you're gonna have to just accept as a reality here, Mike?
4:16J.K. Dobbins is not... I mean, frankly, he just hasn't looked that good.
4:20No, he has not looked very good. He's out-snapped Harvey two times.
4:24One time when Harvey was out, and then in week three on the return, 33-24 this past week.
4:30R.J. Harvey, 29. J.K. Dobbins, 21. Tyler Paday, 12.
4:33Yeah, the snaps have not shaken out the way I thought they would.
4:37Now, the Broncos' schedule probably does factor into that.
4:40But also the way that this offense is running, where it's just real, real small, real short A-dot.
4:46I mean, it's pretty... It's a pretty disgusting offense to watch.
4:50It is not aesthetically pleasing. And R.J. Harvey is currently the benefactor.
4:54Who do you blame for that? Why are the...
4:57Why do we have no predictability when it comes...
5:00And this is going back a year. I mean, we had a Thursday night game against the hapless Raiders in which the Broncos looked terrible.
5:08So who do we blame? Do we blame Bo Nix?
5:11Do we blame... I don't... Sean Payton. Sean Payton took the blame off himself, gave it to Davis Webb.
5:18I mean, I don't even know. Like, I don't...
5:21Is this... Is it Bo Nix? Are the plays being set out in front of him for him to accept and take care of?
5:29Or is this just how Sean Payton wants it to run?
5:32I really don't feel like I have a good gauge on it.
5:36But it just is what it is. I mean, I think the first and second half of the Rams games were maybe as, like, indicative of what the...
5:45Oh, man. Oh. I don't know what to do here, man.
5:49This has been... Expose it. Expose it. It's just been too funny.
5:53We frequently on the show... On the show, we...
5:56So listen, go to my camera, okay? So you see the corner of Mike's laptop.
6:01Oh, everything's good, man. You see the corner of Mike's laptop and my camera.
6:06Now go to Mike's camera. You see the corner of my laptop, right?
6:10So we've got these little things on here. Go ahead and go to Mike's camera.
6:15It's a screen protector. I know that this is not good for the audience at home.
6:20So it blocks what's on the screen. So we have these every single day.
6:25Yeah. And we get in here and, I mean, yes...
6:28Well, hold on. We have them every single day.
6:31We use them every single day. Right. Every day of our life.
6:35But every day they're just, like, on the table, you know, like pre-production happened.
6:40We're ready. It's sitting out here and we grab them.
6:43It's like, oh, hey, the reminder. And then we were going and I didn't have mine.
6:48And they were like, oh, guys, you need your thing.
6:52And I'm like, I don't... Yeah. You know, I don't know where I found mine before the show, Mike.
6:58Well, under your butt. Under my butt. Yeah. I was told to look under my butt.
7:03It wasn't there. But then... But it was behind your back.
7:07It was behind your back. Yeah. So I'm trying to talk and Mike is sneaking...
7:12Yeah, YouTube.com slash SteveFantasyFootballers. Mike is sneaking out his screen protector from behind his back.
7:17Every day this week there's been something weird that happens.
7:20And I don't want to blame Josh, but it is...
7:23He's the exact... Now this, you know, Jeremy's on a cruise ship.
7:27Josh wasn't the chewer. Yesterday we had the loudest chewing on camera, which was Kyle.
7:32And Kyle's now... He said he heard from many friends about his guilt yesterday as we put the social media...
7:39Let's see. You want to know it? You want to know the difference?
7:43What? Kyle, stand up man, he was like... Oh, took responsibility.
7:47Like, we looked immediately at Josh because that's the most likely culprit.
7:51And then Kyle's like, no, guys, it was me.
7:54It was me. Yeah. I don't hear anything about the screen protectors right now.
7:58I mean, is your butt to blame at all?
8:01No, my back. Okay. Also, the complete blending into the chair.
8:05Yeah, I think the final thought I was getting to there was the first and second half...
8:11I don't know, man. First and second half of the Rams game where the Broncos looked hapless and stupid on offense and
8:18then the second half they kind of put it together.
8:21That's basically the 50-50 coin flip I feel like I'm playing with.
8:25I feel like I'm doing that with Waddle. I feel like I'm doing that with any running back.
8:31I feel like Bo Nix... Spoiler alert, he's going to be a start of the week this week.
8:37Do I feel good about it? Oh, man. 50-50.
8:40I feel like I think I feel good about it.
8:43Yeah. There's another... We're talking about a guy who's a start of the week for me.
8:49Are we? Hmm. Who? Harvey. Oh, Harvey's your start of the week?
8:53Oh, that feels like such a... Brother, you got to accept what's going on.
8:57Oh, that's better than... Yeah. I'm not putting my head in the sand and just being like my preseason.
9:04I love Dobbins. I thought... Because Dobbins has always been a good running back on the ground.
9:09He just doesn't look like it right now. Yeah, he has not been very good.
9:14He was 17 carries for 49 yards two weeks ago.
9:17You know what I bet he's doing right now?
9:20Fighting through injury. Yeah. That's not working. I have to.
9:24Generally speaking, when he gets this level of injury, he just shuts it down.
9:28He's like, if I don't go out there... Remember what I said?
9:32I said I'd be healthy. Um, no, I'm... And the truth is, is with Harvey, if you pick him up, trade for him, whatever, you do get that.
9:42I mean, Dobbins could get knocked out and then Harvey's getting more work.
9:46Well, Coleman is in the shadows like a boogeyman.
9:49On the way back. Just waiting. And he can catch the ball too.
9:53But right now, Harvey, the snap counts, which is what we're looking at, they're going up.
9:58And then take a look at this. The number one wide receiver in snap counts for the Packers, clear as day through four weeks.
10:06It's not Christian Watson. Not clear as... Last week was.
10:10The other difference is like... So three or four weeks...
10:13Like a snap. I wouldn't call that a clear as day.
10:17Yeah. Week four is 53 to 41. Yes. That one's clear as day.
10:21Yes. That one was. But he's at or surpassing the level of Watson in every other week.
10:26It's just... And we've seen it. Like he actually looks good.
10:30Yes. He's the league leader in penalties drawn. 97 pass interference yards.
10:34That was more than double second place in terms of...
10:37Like that's just not even on your fantasy stat sheet.
10:41That is Matthew Golden. Did we say Matthew? I might not have said his name.
10:46His name is Matthew Golden. Yeah. But Matthew Golden has looked great.
10:50Like if you bought low in dynasty, if you...
10:53Yeah. Congratulations. I mean like this is a key point or a key player for the Packers moving forward.
10:59He had the goal line play after Tucker Craft dropped the ball.
11:03He scored last week on like kind of a fade route.
11:07Brought it in. You know, Christian Watson has that inherent fear of injury.
11:11Maybe we're getting past that with the workouts and stuff.
11:14And he's been out there. But yeah, the snap counts are awesome.
11:18The production is awesome. I think the trade window for Golden might have closed at this point.
11:24Yeah. I don't... At least the like trying to get like where if a manager doesn't fully believe or buy into what's happening.
11:31I guess the question is what do you think he is?
11:35Because I think you got... What tier? Like, yeah, exactly.
11:38Is he the absolute full time starting wide receiver for the Packers?
11:42Yes. Is he getting opportunity? Absolutely. Do you like the Packers offense?
11:46Maybe. But what is his talent level? You know, he's drawn the most pass interference yards.
11:51Some of that is really, really good. Sometimes the fact that you're getting pass interference yards, you know, you're not separating enough.
11:59You're, you know, if you come down with that ball, you know, the pass interference is declined.
12:04Right. He's still catching less than half of his passes.
12:08You know, last week, double digit fantasy points because he caught a touchdown, but he also had 21 receiving yards.
12:14So I would not put him in my mind to...
12:18Like, I definitely think he is a worthwhile weekly start.
12:21I just don't think he's really broken out. And so do you guys think he's going to break out at the end of this year?
12:29Do you think he's a top 15 wide receiver?
12:32Because I don't. I already think... I think the breakout has definitely happened because the target totals, the production level, multiple touchdowns
12:39when he didn't score at all last year. He's 13th in fantasy right now in points per game.
12:45Let me take a look and see where he's at there.
12:49He's 18th in points per game. I mean, I think that's about where he's going to finish.
12:55Probably 18 to 22. Yeah. But like, would you rather have...
12:58Let me give you some other names. Like, would you rather have Matthew Golden or Debo?
13:04I think we'd all say Golden. Yes. Yeah. Would you rather have T Higgins than Matthew Golden?
13:09I'd rather have T Higgins. Would you rather have Devonta Adams?
13:13I would. Yeah. Would you rather have Garrett Wilson?
13:16Yes. Would you rather have Michael Wilson or Matthew Golden?
13:19Michael Wilson. I think, yeah. I'll go Michael. So through...
13:22You know, they're pretty close. 12.3 for Golden, 11.1 for Michael Wilson so far.
13:27Parker Washington's down at 10.8. Parker? Parker? No, I'm just laughing of the like...
13:32Just fancy football's funny. Would you rather have Burden or Golden?
13:35I think I'd take Golden. I'll take Golden in that situation.
13:39Yeah. Like, Emeka Abuka. Give me Matthew Golden. For sure.
13:42Agreed. Lad McConkie. Give me Matthew Golden. Like, all the metrics for Golden are at or surpassing Christian Watson except for touchdowns?
13:49Yes. And I think that's what's going to happen.
13:52Like, at this... The way that things look through four weeks, it's not crazy to think Matthew Golden will have more receptions or more yards.
14:01I think Watson's still the better fantasy guy because he's a much higher threat for the touchdowns.
14:06I got one more for you. So I want that.
14:10So, but the like, the yards will be close, but the touchdowns won't be, I don't think.
14:15Yeah. This is a consolidated offense. You basically have Golden, Watson, and Kraft.
14:20It's pretty great. Would you rather have DK Metcalf and all those targets or Matthew Golden?
14:25Oh. Matthew Golden. Yeah. I was waiting for you.
14:28That's an easy Matthew Golden for me. DK's getting so many targets, man.
14:32But then you have to play DK. Yeah, you do.
14:35If you have him on your team, that's one of the requirements.
14:39And by proxy, you have to be a supporter of Aaron Rodgers.
14:43This one I think has been happening in the shadows because the quarterback situation has literally rotated.
14:49Rome Odunze since week two is the clear snap leader for the Bears wide receivers.
14:54That is true. In week two, he had 62 snaps to 42 or 46 for the next highest.
15:0061 to 54 for the next highest in week three.
15:03This past week, it was monumental. 83 snaps. Next highest was 52.
15:07Luther Burden, 47. Cleef Raymond. Running more routes than Burden and Loveland.
15:11Is a Dunze a buy low? Is a Dunze somebody you believe in?
15:15Yeah. I mean, I think he's a buy low.
15:18He is clearly their primary X receiver. If there's like one wide receiver on the field, it's going to be Rome.
15:25That's great to have the opportunity there. I think he's a talented player.
15:30We don't know what the Bears are though. I mean, literally three different quarterbacks in four weeks.
15:35One of the games was a rained out game.
15:38So it's weird to be a month in and be like, I have no idea.
15:43He's getting the routes though. But yes, the opportunity is there.
15:47The snaps, the routes, and I still stand by the talent.
15:50It feels like with no touchdowns and no Caleb, this would be the chance to get him before production could really spike potentially.
15:58If you're getting almost every snap, you haven't scored.
16:01I've lost a lot. No. Because I still think people are like, well, if you were Luther Burden preseason, you're probably still
16:08Luther Burden now because you're going, we don't know.
16:11Yeah. So I still stand by my preseason takes, which is why I, I stand by my preseason take of saying Rome is the guy.
16:20Would you trade Metcalf for Rome? I would rather have Rome than Metcalf.
16:24Oh man. What about Rome versus Golden? I love Golden.
16:27I think Golden's awesome. Every, every snap I've watched him play football this year.
16:32I've been impressed. Every route, every catch. The reason you don't see the catch percentage as high is because this dude is,
16:39I mean, there's a reason he has double the pass interference yards.
16:43Deep shots. Deep shots. Yeah. I mean, you're, you're getting low probability plays and then four of those have been pass interferences.
16:50Um, you know, Pickens is near the top of that list.
16:54CD Lambs near the top of that list on deep shots.
16:58That's where you're going to get it. Rome or a golden.
17:01I'd go golden. Yeah. I think that's, that's tough.
17:04That, uh, I lean, I guess I lean Rome slightly, but that's not a very confident take.
17:10All right. Let's jump into the news. News and notes from around the league.
17:14You guys remember the part of the show yesterday where we talked about Joe Mixon because he was, he had agreed to terms with the, uh, the Seahawks.
17:24Allegedly. Yeah. Allegedly agree. But then he apparently took a physical and, uh, the Seahawks were not happy with the results and chose not to sign it.
17:33That footsie is problematic. So, I mean, obviously. Oh yeah.
17:36This means he's not going to sign anywhere ever.
17:39Right? No, I don't think necessarily. I guess I just feel like he would have to pass their physical.
17:45Yeah, he would, but it might be weeks away.
17:48I'm just saying like, it could be two, three weeks away.
17:52He could go someplace else. It might be next year.
17:55Yeah. It could be next year. The, the, if this is so strange, you, last year was totally shrouded in mystery.
18:02If you weren't around for fancy football last year, Joe Mixon up until the very beginning of the season was the running back for the Houston Texans.
18:11And then he just off a great year. And then he just wasn't, then he was gone.
18:17He disappeared. The team never really talked about it.
18:20They're just like, yeah, he's hurt. And then you just like, when's he going to be back?
18:25Ah, well, whatever. We'll figure it out. You're like, it just seems pretty important.
18:30Why can't you just tell us what's going on with Joe Mixon?
18:34And then, then the year was over and you assumed that Joe Mixon's career was done.
18:39And then you have this whole shenanigans and charades.
18:42Yeah. It just feels like if he missed the entire year last year with this foot injury.
18:48And then after a year and a half off, he still has a, you know, can't pass a physical.
18:54It's not, I don't think it's a week or two away.
18:58And he's 30 years old. Like if I'm another team, do I even bring them in for a workout?
19:04It just depends on the details of the physical.
19:07And he's going to be more expensive to add to your practice squad than I think they added a Ravens depth piece instead.
19:14Jaden Daniels on track to start for the commanders in week five against the Giants.
19:19So the return of Jaden Daniels. We like it.
19:22And the cybernetic arm. You put this man in a suit of armor.
19:27Yesterday, big news, big, big news. Right tackle Lane Johnson announced his retirement from the Philadelphia Eagles.
19:32If you read his comments in the team's comments, it seems like he was trying to gut out one more year and
19:40was going to retire after this year anyways. Yeah, he was trying.
19:44But he said he's going to focus on his mental health.
19:47He's gone through a lot in the last handful of years.
19:51The Eagles in totality, you look at the big picture.
19:54It's a it's a dramatic loss for their offensive line.
19:57You look at the numbers of that Lane Johnson in recent years hasn't been good.
20:02The Eagles are tied for the second lowest team total of any team in week five.
20:08I'm looking at like, you know, we're four weeks in.
20:11We said this is when we start to like the stream finder tool, the strength of schedule tool, things like that start
20:18to really cement themselves in terms of defenses you're targeting situation.
20:22You're targeting. I think it's fair to say the way that the personnel is in Philadelphia right now.
20:28I don't know how they have an explosive week.
20:31I think you start targeting defenses facing the Philadelphia Eagles.
20:34Yeah, which is something I don't right. We could have ever said, but they I mean this team is so totally different.
20:41I mean no. First of all Lane Johnson makes a humongous difference.
20:45We've seen it over the last couple years. Every time he's off field versus on the field.
20:51It's a massive change in their offense. No Saquon.
20:54No, uh, AJ Brown. No Devante Smith. It's like that.
20:57They're no Dallas Goddard. Yeah. Darius Cooper got signed in leagues today.
21:01So yeah, they are seven point neutral site underdogs in London against Jacksonville.
21:06And I don't I just don't see how they win that game.
21:10Maybe maybe they do. They were on the cusp of beating the Rams last week defense.
21:15I mean, they've yeah, it is. But you're talking it's a low scoring game for sure.
21:20I mean, you said they're the second lowest implied team total for context that is tied with the other second lowest the Dolphins.
21:28Like that's the level of offense that they're expecting right now from me behind the Cleveland Browns.
21:33Yeah, Todd Monken Sean Watson. Of course. Yeah, that's wow.
21:37Oh, man. Philly is down bad defense playing well.
21:40Patriots brought in free agent Jamal Williams for a workout.
21:43Oh, Ramondre and Jamal. Yeah. Ramondre limped off the field at the end of the game.
21:48Could they get any more plotting? I know that's what it feels like.
21:53Oh, you could sign Joy Bell. Yeah. Wow. He doesn't keep playing, but he could at this pace.
21:58No, he'd be even slower. So the team has brought in Jamal Williams.
22:03I know Jamal Williams was literally calling Dan Campbell and pining.
22:06You think a team needs somebody? The Lions don't have anybody behind Jameer Gibbs and the Lions even said, nah, dog.
22:13We're good. We're good. But this was we saw a clip of Ramondre at the very end of the game kind of hobbling.
22:21The game was over two plays later. So the fact that we have an action coming in with the visual, it becomes it's only Wednesday.
22:29So we'll start to get more information throughout the week.
22:33But what if Jamal gets snaps over Travion, Jason?
22:35Will you be able to handle that? Oh, no, no.
22:39I will absolutely not be able to handle that.
22:42No, no. All right. We'll take a break. We're going to talk Thursday night.
22:46Thursday night breakdown. Oh, okay. The Owen for Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the two and two Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night football.
22:54Dallas eight and a half point favorites over under is forty seven and a half.
22:59Good golly, Miss Molly. This is a this is a this was one that I just it's a hard one to see
23:06going a different direction than Dallas handling their business.
23:09Right. Yeah, it just comes down to Jalon Daniels.
23:12Daniels. And the ability to pass the ball down the field, I just look, Dallas is not a good defense.
23:19But. Twenty three percent of Daniels attempts were off target last week and the other only Jamis was higher.
23:25I feel like the other seventy six percent or whatever went straight to Chris Godwin in the flat.
23:31I mean, it was it was just kind of an abysmal looking offense.
23:35I have a confession. You do? No, I have a confession.
23:39I I accidentally picked up Jalen Daniels on waivers instead of Jake.
23:43Oh, you got JD. He's in a red jersey.
23:46It's Jay Daniels quarterback with a red jersey. Is this the shot?
23:50No, this was gosh. This was actually last week.
23:53But wait. Yeah. Wait. So you thought Robinson. You thought you were.
23:57I got the Rob. You thought you were signing.
24:00I was like, oh, son of a gun. Oh, this is such a good confession.
24:05Yeah. So you thought somebody had put Jaden down there because people were dropping.
24:09Jaden Daniels. We brought it up on the show.
24:12I was like, well, someone dropped Jaden Daniels. What league?
24:16This is a megalo ball. And you didn't see the sneaky devil.
24:20I thought I was sneaky. I got snooked. And then when did you realize?
24:24Uh, like when I when he saw his projection was like that's amazing.
24:29Yeah. Yeah. You didn't see the little, uh, rookie marker.
24:32My bad. Oh, I. You know what? That's a lot of leagues.
24:36That's amazing. Thank you for telling us. No problem.
24:39No problem. Are you going to? I'm going to draw.
24:42Oh, as a punishment, you're not going to play him?
24:45No. All right. Cowboys defense isn't good. That's true.
24:48Yeah. So what? Eight for fifty. Oh. Eight for fifty five.
24:52Oh, man. I wish I could have heard that.
24:55Um, other. So I you look at the Tampa Bay offense and decisions for start set at this point.
25:01There's no way you can have confidence in a pass catcher.
25:05Right? So a book. Are you trying to find other options?
25:09Would you play Dontavian Wicks against Jacksonville and London?
25:12Yeah. Over a book. Would you play Khalil Shakir?
25:15Keon Coleman over a book. Yeah. Um, would you play your grandmother?
25:18Over a Mecca of Bucca. Well, I don't think that's going to go very well.
25:23No? No, it'd be zero points. Yeah. Very dusty.
25:26Uh, I mean, I think you can play Bucky because Bucky is getting at least fifteen to seventeen rushing attempts and opportunities.
25:34Yeah. He just needs to rip it off from the twenty.
25:37He needs to have a bigger play. This is not.
25:41But the funny thing about the Bucky conversation is it's not like in weeks one and two where, you know, he did have a touchdown.
25:49He did have a good yardage game and he was catching the ball.
25:53He had zero targets last week. That's a problem.
25:56Big problem. It's going to be a big problem till Baker happens.
26:00But at least you know that, I mean, last week, sixteen carries on the ground.
26:05They are going to try to win the game that way.
26:09It established the run against Dallas and Dallas is rushing defense is not spectacular.
26:13It's twenty first right now. What do we do with the tempered expectation though with Tampa being like, hey, we have, you
26:21know, the first couple weeks like Bucky's getting all this action and like we've got him on a he's a little restricted.
26:28He's on a snap count right now. You're like, holy crap.
26:32We're going to get even more than this. And then this week, offensive coordinator Zach Robinson saying basically we need to get
26:39Kenny Gamewell and Sean Tucker more opportunities. Technically, they said that last week as well, which they did give that.
26:45Weird that they just keep saying. I mean, I think that when you're on when you're at a podium and you're asked
26:53about certain players, what do you what do you think of Sean Tucker?
26:57You're going to say something like you're going to be like funny too.
27:01Did you see the game? Well, one. Yeah, they want to get him more involved, but quote, he must earn more opportunities.
27:09So it's kind of like, yeah, we want to get him in there if he deserves it.
27:14Yes, right. Yeah. It's just trying to say whatever you can from the podium.
27:19I think that like this, thankfully, is a Dallas matchup that you're not scared about at all where you can play Bucky.
27:26I do think he might be a decent trade for candidate expecting a couple of bad weeks.
27:32I think it's going to be bad when Baker gets back and the targets are there.
27:37Yes, I think it's going to be a couple of bad weeks.
27:41So, you know, maybe you wait two weeks and trade for him.
27:45But I do think when when Baker gets back, it'll be pretty good for for Buck.
27:50You literally cannot hand the ball off to Kenny Gainwell.
27:54That is an impossible. You can't do it. His yards per attempt the last two weeks.
27:59You want to know what it is? What if I told you it was negative one point three yards per carry and then one point seven?
28:07Oh, that's a net of point four. So, yeah, if I told you something that has been brought to my attention, do
28:15you know who leads the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in receiving yards?
28:18Otten? Otten? Cade Otten. Yeah. I mean, I've seen some.
28:22Brother, your team is broken. Yeah, that team. Holy Lord.
28:25They're in deep trouble. The nice thing is, once again, we have the simplicity of Dallas.
28:30Ah, they're great. Yeah, I just love. You know what?
28:34Jerry Jones, you get a lot of crap on this show from me.
28:38And half of it is related to not installing blinds.
28:41But go on. Oh, look, I'm it's deserved. I'm just saying we don't give enough credit.
28:46Yeah. But you're doing great things for the fantasy football community.
28:50So we appreciate that. Two bad defenses went out in the offseason.
28:54We're like, let's fix it. And one of them dead.
28:57Yeah. The bangles. Also. But I mean, George could get the ball a little more.
29:02That'd be OK. Yeah. Last week it was twenty one targets.
29:06Twenty one targets to three. Yeah. I mean, play CD.
29:09Play Gervonta. I'm still playing George. Absolutely. I'm playing George.
29:13It'll work out. And here's the thing about Dallas that you don't know.
29:17They have not hit explosive pass plays yet. And maybe you do know it if you have George.
29:23Yes. But they they have those things are correlated.
29:26They have the most red zone touchdowns. So slower drives getting down the field and 30th in percentage of 20 plus yard completions.
29:33It will happen. George Pickens has not lost a step or anything of that nature.
29:38He's drawn two or three pass interference penalties and he hasn't.
29:42He had a big play last week. I mean, he did.
29:46He caught a downfield ball. I think he was in the 70s and yardage even though he had two catches.
29:52Yes, that is correct. And Dak. Dak looks good, too.
29:56Yeah. This team is going to be fine this week on Thursday night football.
30:00You know, my biggest worry as somebody who has to start Bucky this week with Ken Walker on by.
30:06I kind of know the game script here. If Dallas comes out and scores two quick touchdowns.
30:12It's going to be so much Devante. Yeah. Well, I was gonna say on the other side, you just can't commit to the run.
30:20You can't. You can't give Bucky the ball on first and second down.
30:24You have to go out there and try to manufacture scoring.
30:28It's just one of those things where you're like, man, can Tampa's defense just sneak a defensive touchdown or something to keep this thing close?
30:36But yeah, not an almost upset pick for me guys.
30:39Surprised? No. No. Because it's Jalen Daniels here. It's not Jaden Daniels.
30:43Right. And I do see if Jaden Daniels was on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
30:48Do you think the Tampa Bay Bucs thought that too?
30:51Oh, they saw. They're like, oh dude, there's a Jaden Daniels on the waiver wire?
30:56Yeah. That's probably what happened. What did Washington do?
30:59Pick him up. That's probably it. I just like the first thing you said.
31:04They have the same color. Like it's kind of red.
31:07Kind of a red profile picture with the jerseys.
31:10The jerseys. They're both the team colors are red.
31:13Which is what the B. Robinson problem was because like...
31:17That one's even worse. I mean, that one's on the same team.
31:20Yeah. And I mean, that one you could easily get wrong because you're like, well that guy had three touchdowns.
31:27I got a confession. I got a confession to make.
31:30Oh, fantastic. But it's on behalf of a Foot Clan member who wrote me a note and I'll share it.
31:37His wife was going into the Monday night football game in desperate straits needing a big performance.
31:43So the only player she had to start that night was Brian Robinson.
31:47And her kind husband was like, listen, your best chance at a miracle is to drop that dude and sign Kendra Miller
31:54because he's the best chance for a Monday night miracle.
31:58Oh. And Brian Robinson scored thrice and would have won her the week and Kendra...
32:02Brother. Kendra, Kendra. That's some deep state stuff. What I like about that is you know...
32:08Like, I don't know if his wife was super...
32:11Like, if this is... She was looking for help so maybe she's not super experienced.
32:16And I like the idea of him being like, let me button up the tie.
32:21Let me give you the sweet advice. Let me show you how a pro handles this.
32:26You clown. Get this Kendra Miller guy. That's fantasy in a nutshell.
32:30I love it. You guys ready for some mailbag?
32:33Yes, sir. Mailbag. Mailbag. Mailbag. Woo! Apparently, the Falcon also told his fiancé to start Ladd over Debo and lost because of that.
32:40Good stuff, man. So the advice... Good stuff. The advice is flowing.
32:44Into the mailbag... You guys are doing great work.
32:47We go. TheFantasyFootballers.com. Click the submit a question button if you want some help this week and want to send us a question for the mailbag.
32:56You can dial the voicemail hotline 302-464-TFFB. We got a couple voicemails in here, Josh.
33:01Is that right? We do. Let's jump in. Hey, boys.
33:04Mike from Brooklyn here. I was wondering if you ever use DFS pricing to figure out who you should start and sit.
33:12Looking forward to hearing from you, boys. Yeah, I mean, I...
33:15So I know that as part of my rankings process, I look at all of the projections and lines from pretty much every book out there.
33:24I don't look specifically at the salaries personally, but it's the same thing.
33:28Salaries are directly correlated to points per game. It's how well have you been doing.
33:33Yes. It's not necessarily how well are you going to do.
33:37Yeah. So I mean, I think we've glanced at them from time to time.
33:41And when we've had other segments where those things have been highlighted, they can be helpful for sure.
33:47But spider writing in from Instagram. What do I do with...
33:51Spider? Yeah. Scary. Spidey. Spidey Rx. That's right. Oh, doctor.
33:54Pharmacist. Oh, yeah. Yeah. He works at Walgreens on, you know, when he's not...
33:59The friendly neighborhood. Spider man. Spidey. What do I do with David Montgomery?
34:03If I can't find a trade, you won't be able to find a trade.
34:08Do I bitterly weep? Well, there's... It'll probably get better.
34:11It will get better. I would say that you...
34:14No, it won't. Okay. If you have a closet or something that you can put some candles in, turn it into like
34:21a little prayer room, that would probably be your best avenue.
34:25Because I do think that it could get better.
34:28It could. Statistically, it could because he's a dead ladder.
34:31Because it's the worst right now. Tied for 39th in yards per carry.
34:36Lateral is possible. Tied with... Lateral is probable. Yes.
34:39But it could get better. I mean, you saw it in week one, right?
34:43Week one, he rushed for three yards of carry.
34:46Wasn't that good. But he had multiple touchdowns because the offense was doing well.
34:51That was a Niko game. Niko is back. Obviously, you've seen that their offense is able to work with Niko there.
34:58CJ Stroud looks good. So right now, David Montgomery is truly a hold.
35:02If you're going to trade him away, you're going to get nothing for him.
35:07And he is obviously not someone that should be dropped.
35:10So I think you just hold and you hope that the offense gets more scoring opportunities.
35:15And that's it, right? I think I agree that he's not a drop.
35:20But... He's not a drop because you can't drop running backs that start.
35:24But... Bi-weeks are hitting. Someone's going... He will get picked up.
35:27Someone will burn priority. Someone will burn fab to put him on their bench.
35:32Yeah. And he just... All he is doing is...
35:35It would be me though if he was out there.
35:38I... I... Yeah. He feels like a landmine. It's just...
35:42Where it's just all year, you're going to be like, man, David Montgomery's there.
35:46They're favored by over a touchdown against Tennessee this week.
35:50I mean, I'll bet his odds to score a touchdown this week are decently high.
35:55They scored 30 points on the Dallas Cowboys. And David Montgomery had 4.3 fantasy points.
36:00Yeah. I mean, the opportunities are very low the last three weeks.
36:036, 11, and 10. Because they're... It's like the Packers.
36:07They know what's going on. I mean, if he can't do it against the Colts defense, if he can't do it against
36:14Dallas' defense, that's the last two weeks. Why is Tennessee...
36:17That's where I'm asking. Why is Tennessee better? Man, I'm getting persuaded that he's David Crappertunity.
36:23I think if you look at the Nikolas versions of the Texans, which are two of those games where...
36:29Where they would want to lean on the running game.
36:32Well, you can't. If the defense only has one thing to focus on...
36:37But if Niko's there, then I'm going to run my offense through Niko.
36:41Correct. And you can score more. But if they're up...
36:44See, with the Dallas game, it's like... I'm trying to craft something.
36:48Yeah. You're cooking up a brew for David. It feels like a dark mirror version of Javante.
36:54Something about the offense doesn't work for him. Here.
36:57The offensive line. Yeah, it's probably... I mean, like, he doesn't get...
37:01Like, if you told me that David Montgomery can't run between the tackles right now, but he's getting six targets.
37:07Yeah. But he got zero. Zero is way fewer than six.
37:11I mean, the good news for him is it's not like Woody Marks is looking great behind him.
37:17Woody Marks is running for three yards of carry.
37:20It's a really tough offensive line. What's that? What's Montgomery at?
37:232-7. 2-7. Woody's at 3-1. Yeah, no, I mean, they're both bad.
37:27Woody looks like he has juice, though. Yes, he does.
37:31I get it. Dropping a starting running back is...
37:34That feels like you just can't do it. I mean, you're not doing that...
37:38But at what point? At all costs. You're doing that if you can pick up...
37:43Like, you would have done that for Will Shipley, probably.
37:47Maybe. You're not doing it for Jalen Wright. So here's what's going on for Montgomery.
37:52Tennessee, I agree. Could be good. It should be.
37:55It should work. Are they gonna lose to Tennessee?
37:58In Tennessee? No. Uh, no. I don't think that is...
38:01That's not in the outcome. Oh, get ready. It should work.
38:04But then the next week is Jacksonville. Oh, Jason's face told me, I guarantee you it's an almost upset.
38:11That's what's gonna happen this week. 7-1. Well, 7-1 is a large line.
38:157-1 on the road. So, Jacksonville is the next week.
38:18No way am I playing David Montgomery. Even... He could go out and have a multi-touchdown game against the Titans.
38:25The Jacksonville Jaguars? No, thank you. Sure. Then you get the Giants.
38:29Okay. And then you get a bye week. It's...
38:32I don't know. The upcoming stretch here is not...
38:35But if you hold him, you can drop him and say goodbye during that week.
38:40Yeah, that's not compelling. It's not going well. You're not gonna win a week because of him right now.
38:46No. But you could lose one. I'm moving him down my rankings.
38:50For rest of season? Just everything. Dynasty, rest of season, weekly...
38:54You name it, man. Up your rankings in terms of players you dislike.
38:58All right, we'll take a break. No, I still like...
39:01I like Montgomery. It's not working. It's not working.
39:04It's not working. David Montgomery or Ollie Gordon? Oh my gosh.
39:08Ollie Gordon. Not even close. Ollie Gordon. Ooh, here...
39:11RJ Harvey. Move ahead of David Montgomery. Yeah, yeah.
39:14All right, here for you, Mike. Oh, I got the nastiest one.
39:18J.K. Dobbins? I'm moving him up. I'm moving him up over Montgomery.
39:22Wow. Tony Pollard. Pollard. Easy. Yeah, I'm moving Montgomery down.
39:25I mean, that's easy. I was moving other players above Montgomery.
39:29I'm just moving Montgomery down. I still think he deserves to be rostered.
39:33Yeah, he definitely does. He's the starting... I mean, you're on weeks where you can't start somebody.
39:39I mean, do you want Ja'Cory Krosky-Meritt? Or do you want David Montgomery?
39:43Yeah, I want Bill. Jason. I mean, he's like, yeah.
39:46All the answers are everyone else, but also you shouldn't drop him.
39:50So the answer to the... If I can't find a trade for him, the answer is bitterly weep.
39:56Yes. Honestly, trading... Oh, dude, keep the clothes on, walk right in the shower, turn it on.
40:02The trade is the most compelling actual... You can do this.
40:05You just can't trade Montgomery by himself. But if you take...
40:09If the fundamental piece of the trade, let's say you're trying to get a better running back and you take a wide
40:16receiver and then you tuck David Montgomery in there, it will look more compelling than the actual player is playing.
40:23Sure. And sometimes, like, if I'm giving you a running back, I need someone to at least put in the lineup.
40:30I get that. But if you offer me a trade with Montgomery, I want a better player from you.
40:36I mean, if I said... To remove Montgomery from your roster.
40:40If I offered Luther Burden and David Montgomery, could I get Bucky Irving?
40:44Interesting. That's the type of trade. Maybe. If you just offer Luther Burden, you're not getting Bucky Irving.
40:50Maybe. But if you said Luther and David Montgomery...
40:53Maybe. That kind of little tier thing that you could do.
40:57Maybe. Maybe. And then send them highlights of the Lions days.
41:00Marshawn Lloyd or David Montgomery. Montgomery. We found it!
41:03That's David Montgomery. No, Chris Brooks is hurt. I'm taking Lloyd.
41:07No way! Yes, I am. What?! Chris Brooks is hurt and Josh Jacobs is...
41:12Lloyd is actually catching passes. Yeah, I'm definitely taking Lloyd.
41:15That's definitely what I'm doing. Oh, they're tied at 2.7 yards per carry.
41:19Yeah, well, that makes sense. All right, I want a Lloyd v.
41:23Montgomery bet this week. Yeah, depending on Chris Brooks is active.
41:27They're not. I did say Chris Brooks. Let's take a break.
41:30We'll be right back. All right, back into the mailbag.
41:34Let's go into another voicemail. Hey Ballers, quick question.
41:37Rest of season, DK Metcalf or Luther Burden? Thanks.
41:40Good. We're right back into these. It's... Look, I want the offense that I think the eventuality of it will win me a championship.
41:48I don't think Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers offense is going to do that down the stretch.
41:53Rodgers is not going to get stronger as this season goes on.
41:57But Caleb Williams is going to return. And the best players, if they are good, they emerge.
42:03So I will take Burden pretty handily. I was going to say, I've got Burden significantly higher.
42:08You're taking the Burden hand. You didn't even hear what you said, man.
42:13No, I mean, I... You said it. You walked right into it.
42:17Swish. I said I take Burden handily. Yeah. Yeah.
42:20I stand by it. No, but you shouldn't be so upset that we didn't applause.
42:25Oh, I don't need your applause. The people love you.
42:28No, I just was trying to figure out... Told you.
42:31Well... Thank you. Oh, Falcon gave it a 10 out of 10.
42:35That's terrible. That's a bad sign. I'm with you guys.
42:39What a terrible joke. All right. Eli writing in, what do I do if I'm 0-4?
42:44Do I make a crazy trade or stay the course?
42:47I mean, it's not... Probably somewhere in between there.
42:50It's not always just record. It's how is your team doing?
42:54Point score. Yeah, like points... Where are you in points per game?
42:58Are you... Are you making bad decisions? Could you have won with bench players?
43:02Yeah, all of that stuff needs to be evaluated.
43:05I did. Because... Luck... Luck is part of fantasy football.
43:09It just is. And sometimes you score the fourth most points every week, and you just happen to be up against the juggernaut of the week.
43:17So you have to evaluate. That's where you got to start.
43:21I've had a really funny year in my... Like, I'm in a CBS league for St.
43:26Jude's, and I lost to the highest score in week one.
43:30I was the second highest score. I lost in week two another tough luck loss where I scored a bunch of points, right?
43:37So I'm sitting 0-2 in that league. I'm now 2-2 with two cheap wins.
43:42I mean, just... It's just this universe balanced in that league in a funny way where, you know, I'm like, oh my
43:49gosh, if I lost these two, I'm losing all of them.
43:53And it just evened out. 0-4, like we had this conversation on the show.
43:58People brought it up on social media. We've had people 0-4, 0-5, 0-6.
44:02We had an 0-7 win a title. Staying the course might not be your answer because of all those variables.
44:08You may need to... You know, like right now, you probably can't afford to absorb buy week situations, right?
44:15Like, if you're 0-4 and then you got guys going in to buy, maybe that's where you can make a trade for
44:22another player who's buys down the line. You can get a couple wins right now while other people's teams are on by.
44:29Think about it through that lens. Classic Kyle, who is the player that has surprised you the most given his preseason projections?
44:37Is it a player like Golden? I don't know if he was looked at as necessarily going to flop.
44:43We... For Golden... Bryce Young? For Golden, it was the opportunity is there.
44:47Does he have... The player... Can the player come through with the opportunity he has given?
44:52I wasn't so sure. I was skeptical, but he has looked great.
44:56The biggest one for me is Chuba. Yeah. Like, that's like...
45:00That feels like probably my biggest miss. I wanted absolutely nothing to do with that situation.
45:05I hated him. I hated him as a fantasy football player.
45:09Not just because of what Jonathan Brooks could or could not do.
45:13I just... I wasn't into the Panthers environment, but Chuba has been awesome.
45:17Yeah, I'd say the Chargers top to bottom. All of that team.
45:21Oh, yeah. Those guys. All the Chargers. His own thing.
45:25Dude. We normally do this. I like... I mean, I have...
45:28They intended to be better, Jason. They did intend.
45:31Yeah. If they could award points on intentions. I always love taking a glance at the quarter mark for where players are
45:38finishing in terms of like the positional rankings. Here's your top five quarterbacks.
45:43Do you want me to let you try to guess or just read them to you?
45:48Just read them. Wow. I mean, like the surprises in there.
45:52No, I just want to read you the top five.
45:55Okay. At each position. All right. So, are you starting a quarterback?
45:59Starting a quarterback. Josh Allen. Well, it's like Bryce and Shuck.
46:03Does Shuck hold on to top five? I think so.
46:06Both of us. I think Josh Allen will be in there.
46:09Lamar should still be in there. No. Really? No.
46:12Shuck? Yep. Bryce is in there. Bryce. So, Josh Allen is one.
46:16Shuck is three. Bryce is four. Two more names.
46:19Oh, Kurt Cousins. He's six. Oh, I was so close.
46:23Number two is who you're missing here. All right.
46:26Who is it? Brock Purdy. Oh, of course. And number five right now is Jared Goff.
46:31Your top five running backs? This is not a shock.
46:34If you want to talk about like drafting predictability.
46:37Let's go Gibbs. Gibbs. Ken Bone Walker. Yeah. B.
46:40Yeah. Who else is? Who is James Cook? Oh, Derrick Henry.
46:44Derrick Henry. Derrick Henry's four. James Cook is ten right now.
46:48Jonathan Taylor. Jonathan Taylor's five. Cook was headed down week one.
46:51There's your top five. And then wide receivers. This shouldn't be too hard.
46:55Jason. Jason's one. Amon Ra. Number three. Who's your other?
46:59Seedy. Seedy's number two. Just thinking about my team.
47:02I'm just thinking about your team. Four and five though.
47:05Four and five are names that have not normally been there.
47:09We have a weird breaking news. Breaking news. The Philadelphia Eagles who just lost a tackle are sending two time Pro Bowl
47:16center Cam Juergens to the Ravens in exchange for picks.
47:19Are they folding? Are they? What are we doing here?
47:23That's a little surprising. Shouldn't they like be acquiring all the offensive linemen?
47:27Well, they brought Damien Pierce up to the active roster so they don't figure.
47:31So Damien Pierce will be the guy. Remember what we talked about?
47:35We didn't know who of the three practice squads it would be.
47:39That's a weird one. I think. I think Nick Sirianni's odds to get fired midseason are going up by the minute.
47:46Nick Sirianni's in trouble. Philly is impatient. Philly's impatient.
47:49And also, despite the Super Bowls and Super Bowl victory as well, I'm pretty sure everyone there hates him.
47:56They've wanted him out. I love. I just love the part where it's always another OC or another this or another that.
48:03Wow. JSN, CeeDee Lamb, Almond Ra. The next two at wide receiver.
48:07Do you got them? You should be on. Olavi's four.
48:10Mike? I think, yeah. Oh, Zay Flowers? No. No.
48:13Because he missed. I don't know. It's going to be one of your guys.
48:18Who? One of your guys. One of your guys.
48:21Oh, Christian Watson. Yeah, he held on. All right.
48:24Six is Tett, seven is Devontae Adams. And then, tight ends.
48:27You know who the number one tight end is right now?
48:31George Kittle? Yes. Oh, man. Yes. Dude. Yes. That dude's a man.
48:35That dude is awesome. Stop betting against George. He has the most touchdowns of the position.
48:40And then, Trey McBride? Yeah. Number three, Mike? I want to know.
48:44Oh, number three. T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T. Oh, yes! Oh! And number four?
48:48Oh, man. I want to know where Brock Bowers is, considering he's eight.
48:52He's eight. Yeah. Dang. T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T. Number four is the Laporta potty.
48:55Okay, yeah. And then number five is Travis Kelsey.
48:58Yep. Oh, that makes sense. So there you go.
49:01There's your top score. Juwan Johnson. Good for you, man.
49:05I also enjoy the fact that the top five quarterbacks are the top five scores all together.
49:10And then Dumir Gibbs and Walker break in. There's quite an overlap of quarterbacks and tight ends.
49:16Because you said Goff is in there, right? Yes.
49:19So Goff Laporta, Purdy Kittle, Shuck, Juwanson. And Mahomes is not far behind, by the way.
49:24Mahomes is number nine right now in fantasy. So throw to your tight end.
49:29But like Cousins is up there too. Yeah. Let's go ahead and jump into another question here.
49:34Start sick question from Devin. Do I start Zay Flowers with no Lamar or do I start Matthew Golden?
49:41Ravens are Sunday night games, so we may have answers on Lamar.
49:45We probably will, but we might not. Oh, he's not going to play.
49:49The most recent report I saw was like, he's not.
49:52The most recent thing I saw was that he's got an unconventional answer.
49:57I didn't see that. Yeah. What does that even mean?
50:00It means it's not conventional. Yeah. This seems pretty obvious, Jim.
50:04It's the opposite. I mean. The doctor looked at it and was like, this is the weirdest ankle sprain I've ever seen.
50:11I haven't seen anything like this. Usually ankle sprains either go this way or that way, and this one is totally different.
50:18I mean, what could it be? It's like. You're a doctor.
50:22You have to have seen this. It's. Whoa. Whoa, buddy.
50:25Oh, your ankle injury is in your knee. It's neither high nor low.
50:29Is it really? That's what Brooks just posted. It's a report from Rappaport.
50:34Okay. It's unconventional. Well, the fact that he might be able to play, even if he doesn't, is a good sign for the long term.
50:42But yeah. I play Golden against Chicago. That should be a high scoring game.
50:47The Packers defense is not getting it done. Atlanta's defense is getting it done.
50:51I mean, look at Atlanta. Atlanta should win that game.
50:54Atlanta's looking. They're cooking. A lot better. Let's see.
50:57I mean, they should win the division. I think I'm going to still stick with Flowers.
51:03Okay. I think even if Snoop. I'm going to go Golden.
51:06I'll bet you that one. Even if Snoop is there.
51:10You want to do a $100 bet on that one?
51:13Yeah. All right. Well, you're not going to want to hear this, Jay.
51:17Oh, wait. Hold up. No. All right. No. Um, let's see.
51:21My numbers that I'm seeing in the second half, Huntley through the completed eight of nine passes.
51:27Oh, that's fantastic. Sixty three yards. Uh, I'm showing Flowers with a negative yard.
51:31You remember that they were up by a bunch and they'd like stopped running them out there.
51:37Yeah. Well, but he caught two passes for negative yard.
51:40And is that, that's at least what I'm seeing.
51:43It'll be for a good bet. Yeah. It'll be fun.
51:46Uh, would you trade George Pickens and Jalen Coker to get Chris Olave?
51:51Yes, I would. Easily. Uh, yeah, I think I'm okay with that.
51:55Olave is. Olave is awesome. When you combine the pace of play, the lack of a running game and the shut capabilities.
52:02Full de-gaff at the end of the game. They're just like, we're going to put up points.
52:08I mean, if you had Jefferson, I'd trade Jefferson for Olave in a heartbeat.
52:12Yeah. Um, now where is, where's Drake London on your rest of the season rankings?
52:17Very high. Very high. Because that feels like, I mean, he feels like he's going to be top five.
52:23As long as Michael Penix keeps that job, he, Drake London is going to be amazing.
52:29Their play action game just makes, whatever they do.
52:32Oh. I just love hearing this Drake London and Olave talk.
52:35Oh. You're two Dynasty guys? Yes, sir. Yeah, whatever they do with the, uh, running all over the place thing, when you
52:43play action, Drake London just gets, he's so wildly open in that second level.
52:47They're not even close together. He just looks so good.
52:51Um, start a stick question from El Dandy 40.
52:53All right. That's the Dandy. The Dandy. The Dandy 40.
52:57Uh, so that do not oblock. Who should I start this week?
53:01Tyler Shuck against the difficult Minnesota defense. Okay. I'm assuming you're playing yourself some DAC this week.
53:06I currently have DAC in you. Or Drake May against Las Vegas.
53:10I would go May. I don't want to mess with Minnesota because I don't think you can get the kind of week you want.
53:18The three touchdown kind of week. Yeah. I lean Drake May.
53:22Thankfully he came back to look like a bum last week.
53:26Well, this one, we'll end with this one. Cause this is, this is a wild question.
53:31I'm curious Mike's thoughts. I think I know them.
53:34Uh, Morrison says I'm one in three right now.
53:37I have Ken Walker. Oh, which that's a hard, that's hard to be one.
53:41Goodness. Should I consider selling high for help right now?
53:45So you sell Walker at the, uh, I believe Walker has the 14th, highest points of all time through four weeks.
53:52He is not playing football this week. Cause the running.
53:55This is actually, this is what I kind of said.
53:58Just talking about where if you are a team that is.
54:02Oh, and four, one in three, and maybe you can't deal with a bi-week.
54:07The question is, it has to be an offer.
54:10You can't refuse though. Like if you can go get Jonathan Taylor to play this week and something plus, then I don't think that's a problem.
54:18Um, would you trade Ken Walker? Let me give you this one.
54:22Would you trade Ken Walker for a package that was like Derek Henry and golden at one and three?
54:28I might be open. I'm very, probably wouldn't do it.
54:32I don't think I'd do it. I think, I think Ken Walker is worth more to your comeback from weeks six through the rest of the season.
54:41Then he is missing a week. I think I'm worried about Henry against Atlanta this week.
54:46Tyler Huntley. Like this is, this is, this doesn't shape up to be the weeks, one of the weeks where he turns into the Yeti.
54:54Fair. I mean, he has one of the largest splits of all time in wins versus losses, which makes complete sense.
55:01He's not a pass catching back. He's the four minute run, you know, run the game out type of back.
55:08Um, so tough for him this, this week, I would say that you need to explore how much you could get for
55:15Walker and try your best not to trade him.
55:18But yeah, yeah. That's a good way to put it.
55:21And if, if something happens where it's like, wow, okay.
55:25I mean, you've got to just be overwhelmed. Yeah.
55:28You could always, uh, that's the one situation where you probably want to put the name out there to everybody.
55:34If you want to explore it, let the bidding begin and see what kind of crazy stuff you get back.
55:41Because, you know, there, there's a world where, you know, there's a world where Walker's won overall this, this year for sure.
55:48Yes. Like it's not, um, he's barely behind Gibbs right now.
55:52And get, I mean, those are, that's the 13th and 14th highest four week stretches to start a season for running backs in history.
56:00Going back to Jim Brown, who had the best one ever is wild.
56:04All right. We're going to say goodbye for today.
56:07Starts of the week tomorrow. Matchup previews. Thursday night recap.
56:10We'll talk about that. And, um, we got wheel of shame this week as well.
