0:00Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast with your hosts, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright.
0:05Welcome in! You've been healed! I'm back baby! Week 1 was good for Andy's soul.
0:10Yes! Welcome into the show. Monday, September 14th. I am so excited for this episode because we were together all of yesterday
0:17watching all of these games, but this is our first chance to kind of touch on all the different things we saw and how it impacts fantasy players.
0:26And man, what a spectacular day! Yeah, it was really fun.
0:30I don't know why. Hold on a second. Oh, wait, hold on.
0:34Oh, come on. There's some changing happening to the set real quick.
0:38Let me just do some things here. Changed out the centerpiece.
0:41Yeah, that's fine. All right. No, I just signed Cardinals.
0:44We're doing a mid-podcast change? This is an early podcast change.
0:48He is now putting on a Cardinals jersey. He has replaced our footballers hat with a David Johnson.
0:54Our footballers hat? Our helmet. Oh man, that's tight.
0:57All right. They're supposed to be fitted. He's got a Cardinals hat.
1:01And we are all in on the Cardinals. This is a little shameful.
1:05Oh, here's Justin Herbert on the desk. Oh, Justin Herbert.
1:08Goodbye, Justin. He comes to Larry Fitzgerald. Oh, hold on.
1:11Lamar, you had a good week. All right. Oh, why are we replacing Lamar?
1:16And he's just going full Cardinals. All right, I'm ready for the show.
1:20Full homer. I'm ready for the show. Oh, we good guys?
1:24Sound a little winded from changing. I did. Jason, that is an embarrassment.
1:28Is it immature of me? No. No. I brought a Cardinals hat today too.
1:32Yes. Because this is the only chance to get all season.
1:36Oh yeah, Matt. When we walked in, Mr. 49er over there, the Falcon, he's like, you know, he thought it was a
1:43dig when he's like, oh, are you going to celebrate while you can?
1:47Yeah. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. We are well aware that this is our only opportunity.
1:52Nine and a half point underdogs. Congrats. Called it right here on this show.
1:56You did have an almost upset. Although that was just a full upset.
2:01My Twitter was filled with, well, two things. Impressed people and depressed Charger fans.
2:05Oh, the Chargers found a way to Charger. I mean, come on, Chargers.
2:09I mean, they are who they will always be.
2:12Just accept a disappointment. Charger fans are like Cardinal fans, but they like pretend.
2:17Now, hold on. I will say this because look, it's all fun and games.
2:21We are in Arizona. We're Cardinals fans or we try to be.
2:25It's impossible. So it's fun. Most people might remember all of our negative comments all off season.
2:31Yeah. It's fun to celebrate. Which I don't. But we also, you know, leading up to week one, we kept saying, how
2:38do you not overreact to week one? Yada, yada, yada.
2:41It's impossible. But you have to be aware. And I would just like to remind people.
2:46Last year, yes, the Raiders went on the road in week one to the New England Patriots and they beat them 20 to 13.
2:54And it was like, hey, maybe the Raiders are OK.
2:58No, they were literally the worst team and they got the number one pick.
3:02So you're saying we can still get the number one pick.
3:06I am. Absolutely. OK. And I'm saying that the Chargers could still go to the Super Bowl like the Patriots.
3:12And I'm saying that the Cardinals are at home home opener against the backup quarterback Drew Locke of the Seahawks.
3:19That's all I'm saying. That's going to make it even worse.
3:22I'm just saying the division. They got to come through.
3:25It's wide open. They got to come through what?
3:28They got to come through Arizona. So, yeah, part of the ridiculous weekend.
3:33We had the highest scoring opening weekend. Was it ever?
3:36Yeah. Fifty three point three points per game average NFL record for opening Sunday.
3:40Wow. Thanks, Bears. Kind of pushing that average up.
3:43Yeah, I use a crazy week. We got so much to talk about.
3:47Mike was there with you Sunday live, which was spectacular leading into kickoff.
3:52So many of you were on the ultimate dashboard at join the foot dot com loading up the rosters and optimizing for week one and all the rankings.
4:01We still got a game tonight. We still got a fun game tonight.
4:05Kansas City and Denver. We get to see K bone.
4:08Hopefully we have a hopefully it's fun. Oh, I could see this being a defensive battle.
4:13We had so much offense yesterday. And you know what?
4:17That's all right. And I will say this. It's all right.
4:20We did escape with not too many injuries. Not that there were zero, but I would say for an opening weekend, it
4:27was pretty, pretty good, especially after the the Wednesday, Thursday barrage of injuries started the week.
4:33It was like, oh, no, that was a great weekend of football.
4:36Yeah. Or a great Sunday. Yeah. I mean, the only real injury that there's a couple in one of them was another.
4:44My guy. Yeah. So that's cool. That's cool. The only the singular charger.
4:48Yours had an excuse. The singular charger that did anything.
4:51Right. It was very good. It was only contributing factor to the entire Chargers offense that week.
4:57Injured lad looked like maybe his organs are. He looked like he just it was immediately like, whoa, this would this was the call.
5:04This was a great call. Lad is going to be the dude heavily featured.
5:09And then Justin Herbert was like, hey, lad, how about you go to the hospital?
5:14That was not a good pass. No, because he can't as a little guy into coverage.
5:19You can't do that to your you can't do that to your guys.
5:23But he did. And then lad suffered the consequences.
5:26Mike, you posted a kind of a quick question.
5:29What did you post on Twitter? Yeah, I posted.
5:32Look, after week one, what is the hottest offseason question you believe is already solved?
5:37Oh, we figured it out. Yeah. Cardinals going to the Super Bowl because we say don't overreact.
5:42But you do need to react like there is stuff that happens in week one where you're like, that is going to
5:49end up being what the truth is for that player or their team.
5:54The Arizona Cardinals. Here's my answer. The Arizona Cardinals offense will be what I thought it was going to be.
6:00It's going to be a good offense. You could say the Chargers are bad.
6:05Cardinals have too many good weapons to not be a good offense.
6:09So I think for fantasy, they may never win another game.
6:12In fact, the odds are probably against them doing so.
6:15But Jeremiah Love, Trey McBride, Michael Wilson, Kendrick Bourne in the slot.
6:19Yeah, what's it all about? The Cardinals had one catch for Marvin Harrison.
6:24If you swap jerseys with Marvin Harrison and Kendrick Bourne, we'd be so happy right now.
6:29Yes, that is true. You'd be like, dude, more of eight catches?
6:33That is true. He had eight? I believe so.
6:36Oh my gosh. I think it was like eight for 75.
6:39I do think that the Cardinals offense is what they want.
6:43We got eight for 75. For fantasy. Is that what it was?
6:47Yeah. I agree with you that I think the offense is going to be great.
6:51Seattle is a much different defense. Oh my gosh, these comments.
6:55So we posted that. Mike posted, after week one, what is the hottest offseason question you believe is already solved?
7:02Here are some answers you guys provided us. The Chargers are still the Chargers.
7:06Fantastic wrote in. McDaniel is more weird than good.
7:09I still think that they will not be as bad as what you saw this week.
7:14You know what was wild is the Cardinals had no pass rush last year.
7:19And the Chargers got their top tackles back. And why couldn't they protect him?
7:23Why couldn't they protect him? Did you see the play?
7:27There's one constant on that offense, guys. Oh, the quarterback.
7:30Yeah. The one who keeps just matrix dodging all blame around him.
7:34He's the one who's always there. Did you watch the highlight?
7:37He's the one. The play where three Cardinals ran in free.
7:41The quarterback is the one who has to be like, hey, I think we might need to change protection here.
7:47That's his job. But I can't imagine his protection was, hey, you three offensive linemen, go block that one dude.
7:54No, but he got confused. Because did you see that play?
7:57Yes. Three of their linemen went and blocked one guy.
8:01Yes, because the edge on, I think, the left dropped into coverage and confused them.
8:05And they were like, we don't know what to do.
8:09I'm just saying. I mean, look, if it goes south for the Chargers this year, you have no choice but to lay it at the feet of Herbert.
8:18We can't do the excuse making anymore. When you can throw the ball like he can throw the ball, you look at
8:25that and you say, well, something else is going wrong, right?
8:28But we have been there with some gunslingers in the past.
8:32Very, very physically gifted. Jake Cutler is one of them.
8:35Maybe it's a week one snafu. Yeah, I mean, it's week one.
8:39So what are the things that we think we did get an answer to?
8:44Phil says, is the Cowboys defense better? Nope. And that's one of the things to me as well, that it's like, oh, okay.
8:51That one's tough. You got to give the credit to Jackson Dart and the New York Giants.
8:57That offense was just absolutely firing. The addition of fields and likely make such a difference to some optionality.
9:03You didn't have to just lean on neighbors every time.
9:06Also Malik Nabors. Yeah, he's good. Did you see how Nabors was able to finally decide to play?
9:12I did hear that. Yeah, John Harbaugh tackled him?
9:15Yes. John Harbaugh before the game tackled him. Can you imagine if he injured him?
9:20Can you fathom that? I had the thought of like – Maybe Malik hurt Harbaugh?
9:25Well, no, I don't. But, yeah, I mean, Nabors family didn't come to the game.
9:30Like, that's how – Wow, really? He was really not sure if he was going to play.
9:35And he didn't want them to come if he wasn't going to play.
9:39And then Harbaugh was like, well, I'm going to tackle him.
9:43He's going to be fine. Yeah, I mean, you traded me.
9:46We did a CD lamb for Nabors trading the offseason.
9:50I'm taking this into my own hands. And I'm not sure.
9:53I wouldn't rather have Nabors. Phil says – or sorry, Sam.
9:57Parker Washington is the top dog for the Jags.
10:00Yeah, that one I'm in on. You think that's solved?
10:03Yeah, I think that's solved. Matt Fernandez, there is no 1A1B in Tampa.
10:07Bucky is the dude. Oh, just like I knew, baby.
10:10You knew that right when you were on the clock?
10:14Right when I was on the clock and decided to draft him.
10:18The clouds parted. The sun started to shine. And I could see.
10:21Bucky is my dude. Bucky looked good. And you know what looked great?
10:26Seven targets. Yes. I'll say TBD on that one.
10:29I think mostly solved for me. I can't read that name.
10:32DJ Moore is still really good is another statement from a Twitter.
10:36I think for fantasy he's going to be pretty good.
10:39I do. That one I think is tough because it's like his huge play, the – what was it?
10:45Whatever, a 50-yard touchdown. Awesome. But it was the type where the DB fully sold out to catch the ball and whiffed.
10:53I like eight targets. And DJ Moore is just free to house it.
10:57So not taking away from the play, but I wouldn't say – But you took away from the play a little away.
11:04Well, I'm taking away from the DJ Moore is still really good.
11:08Okay. John says no one on the Tennessee Titans is startable for fantasy football.
11:12Holy moly. Dude. Okay. So Carnell Tate's my guy because Carnell Tate is an amazing player.
11:18And I'm already week one like, crap, did I – is Cam Ward that bad?
11:22He can't get just even a smidge better? I was hoping that, you know, Brian Dable coming in and obviously the preseason
11:30was vanilla and they were going to scheme some stuff up.
11:33But this was the Jets. I've never seen a more boring, terrible-looking – it was like a preseason vanilla offense.
11:40Like, wait, did you not realize this was week one?
11:43Cam Ward stinks, man. Solved? It feels solved. It feels – it feels – It feels bad.
11:48Awful. Ryan said the 2025 Patriots were a product of an easy schedule.
11:53No. No. I wouldn't do that. I'm not going that far.
11:56That one I disagree with. Did you – so the Titans ran 49 total plays and only three in the red zone in that game.
12:04Did you see that the – I think the Saints ran 84 plays.
12:09I did, yeah. So you look at the Saints numbers, that's almost – Oh, Kellen Moore.
12:14It's almost double. Yeah, you had the extra time.
12:17But they ran so many plays. Yeah, and they also won the game.
12:21The New Orleans Saints lost by one. Congrats, Lions home fans.
12:24But that scoop and score on defense was an absolute nonsense call.
12:28I don't – I still don't understand how that was not a fumble in any way, shape, or form.
12:34And I don't see people even discussing it. No, it's not coming – the NFL's not coming out and defending it.
12:41Like, anyways, there was a play where Goff was dropping back to pass.
12:45Don't worry, guys. His intention was to throw it forward.
12:49So it was not a fumble because in his heart he wanted to go forward with his pass.
12:55I mean, is this just us waking up to the rule?
12:58Maybe, maybe. But I haven't seen someone – like Mike's saying, I haven't seen, like, someone coming out.
13:04I've seen some posts that are like, should this have counted?
13:08Yeah. That type of stuff. Because I don't understand it.
13:11It's like – so if I'm – I just – I don't – it can be pure easy.
13:17No speculation. It's black and white. If the ball goes backwards, even if you're being hit with a forward passing motion, if
13:24it goes backwards – I've got the rule in front of me.
13:28It's a lateral. All right. Okay. All right. This is item one.
13:32Does it talk about the heart? If contact by an opponent materially affects a passer after the passer begins his throwing motion,
13:39it is a forward pass if he passes the ball regardless of where the ball strikes the ground.
13:45A player, an official, or anything else, when this occurs, intentional grounding rules do not apply.
13:50When the passer intends to throw a forward pass and is contacted by an opponent before beginning the throwing motion, the direction
13:57of the pass is the responsibility of the passer if he passes the ball, and intentional grounding rules do apply.
14:03It sounds like they got it right, but I feel like we can go back and forth.
14:09I feel like you can find a dozen plays in the past where they have then got it wrong because normally –
14:16You can say the rules are broken if you want.
14:19Yeah. Well, all right. It was a turned-in-trick exciting game.
14:23That pitch I threw, I intended to pitch it forward.
14:26Yeah. That's not a fumble. Get out of here.
14:29I mean, it does seem really silly because the problem – and if you didn't see the play, essentially Jared Goff went to throw a pass.
14:37It ends up being decidedly backwards because he was impacted while the throw happened.
14:42It was originally a fumble on the field. The Saints scooped and scored it.
14:46But then you're like thinking, well, nothing matters here on the review because a lateral is a fumble, right?
14:52If you threw the ball intentionally backwards, so it doesn't matter.
14:56We were all surprised when it was overturned, unaware that intent of the heart was such a big factor.
15:02That is an official rule. Well, a couple other things I think were answered.
15:07I did not know if the Baltimore Ravens offense would be good or not with their offensive line changes.
15:13Declan Doyle. Yeah, apparently you don't need Lindenbaum for Derrick Henry.
15:16Seems like he was just in the way. Hold on.
15:20Let me try and find the – Also, the Bears defense stinks.
15:24I'm so thrilled about that. This was a tweet from Jameson Hensley.
15:27It says, in offensive coordinator Declan Doyle's first game as a play caller, the Ravens produced the first game in their 31-year history with this trifecta.
15:36A 300-yard passer, 150-yard receiver, and 100-yard rusher. I think that middle one was the hard one to do.
15:42And I would say finally, Sean Mannion did not fix the Philadelphia Eagles.
15:46Their offense – they won the game and they were – Hurts was running.
15:51Okay, and Hurts ended up with, you know, like 47 rushing yards.
15:55More like a jog. Part of the offseason reality that we have to face every year is that when teams make changes,
16:02they make changes to improve, but half the teams don't improve from the changes.
16:06They intended to improve. Like Brian Dable. The intention was to improve.
16:10Yeah. We didn't see it in week one. They should give them the win.
16:15They intended to win that game. And through one week, I will say this.
16:19What a dumb rule. It's one week. It's two rookie wideouts.
16:23It's one coming off of injury. I'm not so sure the Dolphins are going to be any good.
16:29Oh, the Dolphins' offense is – I could be really, really off on my Malik Willis hopes there.
16:35Do you know what their schedule is? It's not good.
16:38Oh, it's as bad as the Cardinals' is. Let's just – real quick before the bye week, we get at San Francisco.
16:45Oh, I'm very aware that – Kansas City, at Minnesota.
16:48There's two games they can win this year. And the Bengals.
16:52The Jets games? The two Jets games. Yeah. If you look at the Dolphins' schedule – Not if Gino has anything to say about it.
17:00If you don't win week one against the Raiders, you have – you're not beating the Bills.
17:05You're not going to beat the Patriots. No. They play – They do play the Chargers, guys.
17:11Yeah, they play the – They play the Chargers.
17:14The Dolphins might not win a game. Any given Sunday.
17:17Well, we have more reactions from the weekend as we always do.
17:21The very first edition of this year, and we have a bunch of great ones.
17:26I will say three-fourths of what I reviewed on the Monday Ponday seem to be on the negative side of people's experiences.
17:33Maybe three-fourths of those were Colston Loveland. But here we go.
17:37Monday Ponday reactions from the crew. I'll start – well, let Mike start with this one.
17:42Mm-hmm. Zay Powers! Yes, sir. Ashton Plenty. Oh, and Dalton Wynkay.
17:45What about Parker Watch Me Win? Parker Watch Me Win?
17:49Okay. How about Chuba Hubba Hubba? Yeah. And Isaiah Lovely.
17:52Or Isaiah Certainly. Yes. Or David Mangumery. Or Jameer.
17:55Gives me that! Gimme that! Gimme that! Christian Gigawatson!
17:58Oh, it was not all good, despite the routes.
18:01Katsten. Colston Dudland. Or Ghost in Loveland. Yeah. And you had Jamar Waste, of course.
18:05That's Fake May. Fake May. As written, Fake Make.
18:08Why don't you take the next one? Let's go with Bustin Herbert.
18:12Bustin Herbert. How about Faker Mayfield? Yeah. And you had a heaping pile of pits.
18:17Oh! Oh! Stinky. Marshawn Void. Terry McMorrin. Oh, George Little.
18:20Jay, I'll let you do this last one. Oh, no.
18:24Oh, no. Yeah. I had to end with this one.
18:27Carnell Taint. Yep. To be clear, I could have gone with Carnell Ain't There.
18:31No. Oh, that was better. But we got to end.
18:35We're classy here. We got to end classy style.
18:38Wow. That's Cam Ward. I can't wait. Like, genuinely.
18:41If... Can't. Can't Ward. If... Can't Ward. If he were to be benched, they would be better.
18:46You know who's up if he is? It doesn't matter.
18:49Okay. But who? Mitchell Trubisky. Dude! Heck yes! No joke.
18:53If Mitchell Trubisky stepped in there, that offense would be at least twice as good.
18:57Can we get a J.J. McCarthy injury slash soft benching here?
19:01Yeah. Exactly. Exactly. I mean, you can't. You can't do that as a team.
19:05You have to develop him. I know. And you have to hope.
19:09But man, that was bad. Instagram and on X.
19:12You can send those in every week at Fantasy Footballers on Instagram at the FFBallers on X.
19:18And submit them with hashtag Monday Punday every Sunday night.
19:21Let's take a break and we'll talk news. News and notes from around the league.
19:26All right. We have a lot to get into, including a whole bunch of this.
19:31Oh, man. He's just making it rain. All right.
19:34So, DeAndre Swift, three-year, $33 million extension. This was all prior to kickoff.
19:38Tucker Craft, four-year, $75 million extension. Michael Mayer. Oddly timed, three-year, $45 million extension.
19:42The timing of that one. For the Raiders. Oh, boy.
19:46Any thoughts on those deals? The Swift one is...
19:49Nice hat, Jason. Thank you. I'm a diehard, lifelong Cardinals fan.
19:52The Swift one is interesting, especially for Dynasty Leagues, where this was a team that over the last couple of years since
19:59Ben Johnson got there, there were rumors for them to take a high draft pick at running back.
20:05They were in the market on some of the bigger-named running backs.
20:09The way that the Lions took Gibbs and now they're like, hey, Swift is our dude.
20:14We're happy with him. And that's a big deal because this run game and this offense is going to be awesome.
20:21And what we saw from the Bears' defense is they had a couple of off-season injuries that were unfortunate to their defense, really hurt them.
20:29And it is just so good for fantasy because their defense looks very bad.
20:34Do you realize they had almost three 100-yard rushers, sort of?
20:37I mean, they had two. Like, Monungay and Swift.
20:40Was Caleb almost there? Not quite. But I mean, he was in the 60s.
20:45That's how you do the stat, man. With 100 from Monungay and 120-something from Swift, they scored 59 points.
20:51I think their record-setting season is off to a good start.
20:55So our guys on the Bears had a good week, right?
20:58Yeah. Right? Yeah. Hey, yeah. Is your guy Kalief Raymond?
21:01If you score 59 points, obviously Loveland, big game.
21:04All three big names. Bird in huge game. Yes.
21:07Odoon's a big game. We'll get to them in the duds.
21:11Tucker Craft's deal, I mean, we all know he looks the part.
21:15They're locking him up while they can on a cheaper deal.
21:18And then Michael Mayer, they're not letting him go.
21:21He's a – This is – I mean, he's a – These teams with their double tight ends, yeah.
21:27It has nothing to do with Bowers. Bowers doesn't play the tight end role that Michael Mayer plays.
21:33Yeah. Brock Bowers is a slot player. They didn't have an injury to Michael Mayer and then in one day go, let's get a contract.
21:41This was already in the works. We did not get the best news on our high ankle sprain patients here.
21:48A.J. Brown expected to miss six weeks. Gross. I believe they are a week 11 by, you know, six more weeks.
21:55Is that – I mean, statistically you have a three-week reduction of production.
21:59That doesn't – I've got to find a new way to say that.
22:03No, that was great. A reduction of production. A reduction of production.
22:07So you've got six weeks you're out, a three-week reduction, a bi-week mixed in.
22:11And then fantasy playoff glory. I mean, maybe. But you've got to get there.
22:16That sucks. Yeah, that stinks. My guy, one of them injured here, Dajon Stribling, he's going to miss at least a month.
22:23If you look into this injury, it's a deltoid ligament sprain of the ankle.
22:28You don't hear that very often. This is – he couldn't put weight on it.
22:33He was carted off the field. This is an injury that often leads to surgery or you need surgery right away.
22:39But, essentially, they're in a position where they can see if rehabbing gets him back before that decision is made.
22:46Because if you make it in four or five weeks and it's season-ending versus now season-ending, you can give him a chance to get back.
22:54Yeah, it'll be interesting to see if they throw him on IR.
22:58Or A.J. Brown was placed on IR. I would imagine they will, but TBD.
23:02Also, I mean, can we talk to big anatomy here?
23:06Oh, big anatomy. Yeah, let's be careful with that.
23:09But go on. Yeah. Your muscles. Yeah. Your deltoids.
23:11Yeah. Where are those? That's in the lower meat.
23:14No, no, no. No, no. Your actual deltoid muscles.
23:17Ah. They are in the upper body. Why is there a deltoid ligament in your ankle?
23:22The head bone's connected to the, I believe. Just saying.
23:26Like, that's really strange. We couldn't find another word?
23:29Uh, maybe they do the same thing down there.
23:32I mean, Mike, don't. Big anatomy. Don't bring it up here.
23:35I'm more of an expert in almost upsets. There's three other guys who could have chimed in.
23:41Oh, those guys don't know the deltoid from their...
23:44Well, maybe Josh does. I was going to say, one of these guys is a biologist.
23:49Biology major. How many deltoids do you got, Papa?
23:52One on each side. Wait, what are you... The top and the bottom?
23:56Top and the bottom. Yep. No, he's... That was my answer.
23:59I don't... He's got one on each side. He's like, no further questions.
24:04I like it. It depends on the alignment of the side.
24:07Yeah. Which is, are you laying down or... Um, Miles Garrett.
24:11Knee surgery. IR. Okay. So much for the duo to start the year.
24:15Super team. Uh, Kyler Murray left almost instantaneously. First, he made a fadeaway terrible interception throw.
24:20Yeah. Which, the worst part about that, by far, was that immediately what you do in that moment is you go and you make fun of it.
24:29Right? Yeah. And then, two seconds later, it's like, oh...
24:32Very severe injury. Very severe injury. Looked awful. He was talking to Carson Wentz and smiling and laughing in the locker room after the game.
24:40Yes, which is great. Didn't have to go to the hospital.
24:44And also, Carson Wentz came in and looked awesome and Justin Jefferson got rescued.
24:48I know for a fact that this guy over here, this Al Borland character, while we're wearing the gear we're wearing, I
24:56noticed a stark lack of gold and green. That's primarily diet related.
25:00Oh. Okay. I've outgrown a lot of that. But that was a rough game.
25:04He's emotionally or... Just to be clear, we didn't even make that joke.
25:08He's just like, volunteering, he outgrew his Packers gear.
25:11You could have just said like, yeah, we lost and I'm upset about it.
25:16That's also true. Wait. How upset were you? To be clear, I know for a fact over the last couple months, you've lost weight.
25:24So, are these jerseys too big? Yeah. I mean, we're talking...
25:27My jerseys are Eddie Lacy, Jordy Nelson. Oh, so they were a long time ago.
25:32Lacy would have worked. It wasn't Eddie Lacy's jersey.
25:35Oh, okay. Okay. It wasn't game worn. No, sir.
25:38But loved Owl. What a brutal game for the Packers.
25:41In the morning with... Why are the Vikings favored in this game?
25:45Yeah. He did start the day with that. Because they're a good team, man.
25:49I know for a fact he stands by that.
25:52Also... I know for a fact. The Chargers get a lot of crap for being the Chargers.
25:58But I feel like the Packers are doing this thing now where they are giving away games that they...
26:04Possible. Possible. You know that's the first time in history a team was up by 12 points with 20 minutes left and lost by 17?
26:12I did not. I mean, that's very specific. Eight minutes left or something like that.
26:17Well, it was just the dynamic... Like, it was 22-17 with what seemed like four minutes left in the game.
26:24And then all of a sudden you blink and it's 39-22.
26:27That's what I'm saying. I saw a tweet talking about...
26:30You know how there's always the win probabilities and you're at 96% win probability with this much time left.
26:37In the last, like, two years, there's been like four or five games where the Packers are basically above 95%.
26:43The game is over and then they lose and lose not just like...
26:47Impressive. They just collapse. I mean, shout out to that team rallying around a backup quarterback.
26:52Brian Flores' defense turning on the juice, man. The Vikings are legit.
26:56They just need a quarterback. And shout out to the refs, according to Al.
27:01Yeah. Oh, man. The refs were not good in that game, but the point differential at the end was...
27:07Not due to the refs. It was significant. Chargers wide receiver Ladn McConkie left with a chest injury.
27:13He got blowed up in a bad way. I mean, I was kind of making...
27:18You know, I was like, man, it looks like he got his organs scrambled.
27:22And then after the game, they're like, they're actually worried about organ damage.
27:27He got hit really hard. So no update on that.
27:30Although I did see Jason shared with me one fantasy medical expert.
27:34See if you can find his so we can shout him out real quick.
27:38But he broke down the fact that majority of the time, if it's a rib injury, they can play through it with a flak jacket.
27:46Like, that's the majority outcome. I don't remember where I sent him to you.
27:51Yeah. So I'll see if I can find that.
27:54But the hope is that Ladn will be able to, you know, be back out there soon.
27:59There might be a scarier injury. And we'll have to wait and see practice reports.
28:04But Zay Flowers re-aggravated the hamstring that he was already dealing with.
28:08Fantasy Docs on Instagram. Sorry. Yeah. There was... Zay Flowers was dealing with, you know, his little hamstring injury.
28:14Re-aggravated it despite the fact that you just look at the game and you go, oh my gosh.
28:20Zay Flowers dominated that game. Which he did. Zay Flowers was 151 in the first half of football.
28:26I think he only ran like 19 routes. 11.
28:2911 routes. 11 routes. He ran 11 routes. It's the most fantasy points scored on 11 routes in history.
28:35That's... So I... The yards per route run numbers, you know, it's like if you're up at like 4, that's amazing.
28:42He was at 13.6 yards per route run. You just don't want to keep re-aggravating this thing.
28:47And this is at least a second aggravation. There are some comments that maybe it was precautionary.
28:53Yeah, the latest from Rappaport was Zay Flowers. It is not considered serious.
28:57He'll have an MRI. But if it was a playoff game, he likely would have returned.
29:02So day-to-day right now. The problem is there ain't no playoff games for a while.
29:07So does that mean... Yeah. Next week, do they give him a week off?
29:12We'll see. I mean, Jacoby Lane... But one week...
29:15Also hurt. One week versus a dude going on IR because his hamstring is...
29:19For sure. ...torn in two. For sure. They will certainly MRI it and see what's going on.
29:25Jacoby Lane, who had a touchdown called back, got a lot of snaps, left early with a wrist injury.
29:31It ended up being a fractured wrist. This is their rookie, their promising-looking rookie from camp who's gotten a lot of buzz.
29:38It was great to see him on the field, used around the red zone.
29:42Everything was like, okay, this one worked. The touchdown was called back.
29:46It didn't work, and then he broke his wrist.
29:49So, well, nope. Dejean, Sribbling, and Lane were like my favorite two rookie wideouts from camp, and they're both hurt.
29:56Yeah. So, Rashad Bateman. Yeah, we'll have a waiver show tomorrow.
29:59He's so weird because I don't think he had a catch.
30:03It's funny. No, he... And he had by far the most routes on that team.
30:08That describes him. Yes, it does. But it's funny because I wanted to move on from Mark Andrews because it's like, Mark
30:15Andrews did nothing, whatever, you move on. But then it's like, if Zay Flowers and Jacoby Lane are gone, it's like, ah,
30:22do I have to roll Andrews again next week?
30:25Yeah. You could go Smythe. Yeah. He is there.
30:28There were plenty of Smythe touchdowns in the absence of all the star tight end touchdowns.
30:33Yeah. Omar Cooper Jr., another rookie wide receiver, high ankle sprain.
30:37He had a nice play in this game and then got hurt.
30:41Chica Conquo, hamstring injury, did not return. We'll see.
30:43Dylan Sampson also left early. I saw him going into the locker room.
30:48Knee injury. Was on crutches following the game. This was the...
30:51Did the Judkins have a good game? Well, no.
30:54Kidding. Man, the Browns and... The Browns, look, it's as simple as Deshaun Watson is not a professional quarterback.
31:00Dude, that guy's so bad. If Deshaun Watson didn't have that paycheck, he would be nowhere near an NFL team.
31:07Every single play from decision-making to physical gifts, abilities, and talents, like, yeah, he threw a bomb touchdown at the end of the game.
31:15I don't care. He'll probably start another week. But disgusting.
31:18Yeah. And he's going... Did you see Harold Fannin have a nice game?
31:22Nope. What about Judkins? Nope. Nope. Whatever. No. Concepcion.
31:25I mean, the only one that did was Boston because he caught the long bomb touchdown.
31:30But if you want to bank on that, good luck to you.
31:34Man. Football's fun, though. It is. We had the initial nine televisions up on the lobby and complete stimulus overload as the game started.
31:42And it was wonderful. It was fabulous. Let's talk...
31:45I will say, just because you bring that up, and while Deshaun Watson's playing, it's irrelevant, but Snap Share, Denzel Boston was
31:52up at 92%, 47 snaps to Concepcion, 35 snaps.
31:55Jerry Judy, 32 snaps. So it was like, that was just interesting behind the scenes.
32:00Now, you could say, oh, wait until... I believe Concepcion was the target leader.
32:04Who was? Even Concepcion. Yeah. He worked from the slot on 63% of his routes.
32:09So something significant there. Let's get this team a quarterback, please.
32:13Yeah. So there's lots of studs and duds to talk about.
32:16By the way, one oddity that I noticed was you had talked about Parker Washington in the beginning when he's definitely the one.
32:24And then we... I don't know why we didn't mention it, but Brian Thomas Jr.
32:29is another update. He went out with a shoulder injury.
32:32But in spite of his absence, Jacoby Myers is playing time, 65% of offensive snaps.
32:37So we saw some work with... Well, we had a touchdown by somebody who we didn't even know.
32:43And then we had Travis Hunter getting in on the offensive side of the football.
32:47He played four snaps. He'll probably play more if Thomas is hurt.
32:51Yeah. You guys want to talk some positives? You want to talk some studs?
32:56Yes. Some good stuff. There was a lot of that.
32:59This week's Fantasy Stud Muffins. We're already going to have an interesting waiver show tomorrow.
33:04That'll be fun because... It is because I don't...
33:07There's not like, oh, that's the guy. Like after week one, I feel like there's always a top player.
33:13What percentage of leagues was Isaiah likely drafted in?
33:16The majority, I would say. Probably near 100. See, that's what I thought.
33:20But the feedback I'm getting, I'm thinking he wasn't drafted in a lot of leagues.
33:25Oh. Well, there's... 88%. That's a lot. Yeah. That's a lot.
33:29Let's talk some studs. Speaking of a lot... So far, so good on one-third of my My Guys.
33:35Well, you got rid of your other two to put all the power into one.
33:39Number one score on the week at quarterback, Caleb freaking Williams.
33:4337.3. Yeah. There's some other guys I'd like him to throw the ball to.
33:47Well, the fact that he could do this without him?
33:51Yeah. That offense is... I mean, I know he wants to break records.
33:55Do you think part of his strategy is a bad defense?
33:59Because you're not going to be able to break records without a bad defense, Chase.
34:03No, you probably won't. But they now have the ability to.
34:07I mean, you also had him doing what we need for fantasy football, which is running the ball at the quarterback position.
34:14Ten carries. You know, most of them probably scrambles.
34:1765 rushing yards. Two rushing touchdowns. That's how he's the number one scorer of the week.
34:22It's just delightful. I don't think it's going away.
34:25I will say that... It's not going to be that good every week.
34:29No, the next two weeks will be a real test.
34:33Minnesota and Philadelphia, they're both at home for Caleb, but those are really good defenses.
34:37It'll be great to witness and see what happens.
34:40Josh Allen against the Houston Texans. I know he's Josh Allen, but...
34:44Remember I said I wasn't willing to bench him?
34:47Yeah. Smart. Can you imagine if I had benched him for golf?
34:51Yeah, it would not feel great. But that's what I'm saying.
34:55If I get it, I understood Josh Allen in Houston.
34:58It had not been good. And we expect the Houston defense to still be a strong play, but Josh Allen was playing incredibly.
35:05Well, he had his best weapon finally out on the field for 75-plus percent of snaps.
35:11Well, that's a Dalton Kincaid comment. That sure is, baby.
35:14He did look good. Bryce Young was the third highest scorer of the week.
35:18Bryce! This is what we're talking about with the Bears defense.
35:22I mean, 361 yards, but it wasn't just because...
35:25Like, you have... Do you realize the numbers for Jalen Coker versus Tett McMillan when they've both been on the game?
35:32Yeah. It's like 37 catches to 21 catches on the Coker side.
35:36Yes. Jalen Coker... And he was... Cookin'. Tettaro and McMillan...
35:39He was fine. He was 5 for 75. Okay.
35:42You're disappointed. Especially in a game where... Should have scored.
35:45If you told me Bryce Young, who usually throws for about 200 yards, or you hope he hits 200...
35:51Yeah. ...throws for 361 and 3 touchdowns, you just assume Tettaroa dominated.
35:55But yeah, Coker is probably one of the biggest pickups.
35:589.8 yards per attempt is the highest of his career when attempting more than 20 passes.
36:03The downfield was working for Bryce. Let's do it against more teams than just Chicago.
36:08Yep. That's one we have to not quite grant the superstardom to.
36:12Yeah, not yet. Jackson Dart, my start of the week, 23 for 29 in full command last night.
36:18Also rushed for 54 yards. And felt like... I know he got...
36:22Really in control the whole time. He got blowed up on one of those plays.
36:27But it was out of bounds. No, no, no.
36:30I'm talking about just when he was in the pocket and didn't look to the right.
36:35It was just like the Tyrone Tracy play, except there was no one there.
36:39Two blocks, so it was entirely on Jackson Dart.
36:42Yeah. It was probably still Tracy's fault. But go on.
36:46I will say... He did his own thing, man.
36:49Tracy did his own thing. You talk about tripping over yourself.
36:52Yeah. But Jackson Dart looked really good as a quarterback.
36:55Still, you know, one of the questions was, will he scramble?
36:5911 rushing attempts, 54 yards. But also, how will he scramble?
37:03And it looked so much more in control. So much less like I'm trying to sacrifice my career on every run.
37:09And instead... And there were designed runs, which I was thrilled to see that this team is like, hey, we've got a quarterback who has great mobility.
37:18Let's utilize him in the game plan. Not just tell him, that's dangerous.
37:22Don't do it. But, you know, Jackson Dart was...
37:25You know, he's close to a my guy for me for a while in the offseason.
37:30He's very scary. But I think that the upside is here.
37:34Grant, there was a Dallas Cowboys. Do it against a team that's not Dallas.
37:39Exactly. Same thing as the... So he's got the Rams coming up.
37:42Much, much tougher. But I'm excited. I think Dart's going to become a weekly must-start.
37:47Trevor Lawrence should be. Although, man. They didn't even need him for half the game.
37:5218 for 23, 245 and 4. Since week 9 of last year, Trevor Lawrence is the QB what?
37:58Oh, well, he's got to be... Got to be 1?
38:01Yeah, it's top 3. Number 1. He's a top 12 quarterback in 11 of his last 13 starts.
38:07Denver next week. Keep an eye on that. He completed...
38:10Are you telling me he completed 18 passes? Yeah.
38:13Because 7 receptions was what Travis H.A. Chan Jr.
38:16had. So 7 of 18... Are you crossing streams of teams here?
38:20Yeah, you are. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. Okay. That makes far more sense.
38:24My brain went... Hey, grandpa. Put the keys down.
38:27My brain went back to college and NFL. This is the first game we haven't had them together.
38:33Okay. Wow. Oh, yeah. They're not there. They're not there.
38:36That makes a lot more sense. He's so good.
38:39He's catching passes from a different city. Lamar Jackson looked in control as well.
38:44324. Just one passing touchdown. Had one on the ground.
38:4740 yards rushing. He only hit 40 yards rushing three times last year with the injury.
38:52So far, so good for Lamar against the Colts.
38:55Jalen Hurts. That was weird. This is a good, bad game.
38:59It was a good... A bad, good game. Yes.
39:02Or something like that. He did not look good.
39:05He didn't play well. His rushing was meh. And then at the end of the game...
39:1048% of dropbacks, they were pressured. That's absurd. Wow.
39:13That's crazy. You know who the least on the entire week was?
39:17Joe Burrow, right? I have to guess Jacoby Brissett.
39:19No, it was CJ Stroud, 21%. Oh, all right.
39:22Oh, crazy. Yeah, Jalen Hurts. I mean, you can't really complain with three passing touchdowns and 46 rushing yards and the end result of fantasy points.
39:31But if you watch the game, it was not easy sledding.
39:34They didn't look great. You know, the Dallas Goddard big, late kind of breakaway touchdown really, really helped him.
39:41I forgot about... Yeah, and Goddard had two of them, man.
39:44Goddard is... He was the start of the week, and we'll talk about him in a bit.
39:50But there are a few guys that I'm very curious your long-term view on.
39:54Tyler Shuck. I mean, this is like... That was absurd!
39:57Tyler Shuck was in negative points at basically halftime.
40:00He ended up passing the ball 56 times. True, man.
40:044-10-3. Almost won the ball game. We always... 86 plays.
40:07We always tell people, wait until the game is over.
40:10Because... Oh, yeah, because the tweets start coming in.
40:13We get good tweets. We get some people who are upset from this game.
40:18Jawan Johnson, aka Jawanson, was one of our most recommended plays of the week.
40:22And it felt bad. And it felt really bad.
40:25And like, Tyler Shuck was playing so bad. It was actually a really terrible play.
40:30We're in the third quarter, and I'm like, I feel like I have to tweet?
40:35I feel like I have to go apologize. Be like, I'm so sorry that I was so...
40:40I thought Tyler Shuck was going to be something.
40:43I thought the Saints... And then, hey, I didn't send it.
40:47Vele, Olave, Jawan Johnson, Shuck. I mean, it was great.
40:50Turns out, you just need four quarters. Five. Fair.
40:53Brock Purdy, 25-34, 2-0-5-3. Efficient night for Brock on Thursday night.
40:56We knew he was great. And the Rams defense.
40:59Aaron Donald, when will he come back? No Myles Garrett.
41:03I mean, look, if you take... You traded Jared Versawey for Myles Garrett.
41:07And Myles Garrett's going to be out for a while.
41:10So your pass rush, if anything, it should mean some better stuff for maybe Williams and Corum and Puka and Adams.
41:17I think the Rams will be okay. Running back scores on the week.
41:21The top five. Why not? Derek Henry, 34.8. He looked like the Yeti.
41:25Goodness. He was... But he was... He was in complete control, man.
41:29But it's not time. Just imagine when it's winter.
41:32It's crazy. He's now third in most rushing touchdowns in NFL history.
41:36Swift, Gibbs, Gentie, Monty. Of course, Gibbs and Monty together.
41:39And Bijan Robinson. The weird... The funny thing about Monty was...
41:43I mean, they're obviously going to lean on him.
41:46He's going to be a huge part of this offense.
41:49This is a very reminiscent performance to the Mixon-esque.
41:52Yes. Like, he arrives to no fanfare, and then all of a sudden is everything.
41:57Great defense. Running game is going to help win it and take pressure off of Stroud.
42:02I just talked about the pressure rate was the lowest in the league.
42:06So, you can say what you want about the offensive line or the Bills' defense.
42:11But something worked because they scored three... He scored three touchdowns.
42:15But did you see the snaps? Yeah. I mean, like, it was almost 50-50 with Woody Marks.
42:20I believe Woody Marks had more snaps than David Montgomery, which you wouldn't know because all the work went to Montgomery, which is all that matters.
42:29I mean, it basically was saying when Monty was in the game, you know, they were using him.
42:34They were putting the ball in his hands in both the passing and the rushing game.
42:40It was gorgeous to see. Jinty looked great. 23 for 102.
42:43Now, the Dolphins' defense, again, you know, it's probably not going to be this good every week for the Raiders, but you love to see it.
42:52And by the way, Jameer Gibbs, 29 carries. You're going to kill this, man.
42:56No. No. You can't give. You cannot. You can do it.
43:00No. You can do it one year. Dan Campbell said he's going to get more.
43:05One glorious year. 34 touches. Not enough. Oh, man.
43:08Andy, I don't know that you know what you're asking for.
43:11I know you've got Gibbs, but, whew. You know, we'll see.
43:15I'm not a man like you that would be willing to guarantee that a player becomes healthy the entire year.
43:21But you want to. But he's been a healthy player.
43:24So we'll see. Bijon got it done despite, I think Cooper Rush might have looked worse than everybody this entire week.
43:31Like, yeah, I was surprised. It was like if you took a game manager and cut that in half.
43:37That's what he was like. He just found Bijon.
43:40I mean, if Cooper Rush was starting the rest of the year, I would be three shovelfuls on the way into the
43:47grave for London and for Pitts because this offense cannot function.
43:51This offense with Cooper Rush cannot produce fantasy value for London or Pitts and Bijon will pass away.
43:57Ten targets? I think his target share was like 56%.
44:00Yeah. Well, it had to be. This was. They almost.
44:03I mean, Michael Pinnock Jr., I never thought I'd say this.
44:07You've done an amazing job. By not playing, you have looked so good.
44:11We've never accused him of being a dumb man.
44:14No. We've just said maybe he's not that great of a quarterback.
44:18But he is. Please come back. He is playing his hand very well right now.
44:23The Falcons attempted 22 passes. Three were batted at the line.
44:26One was a throwaway. There were 12 completions in the game.
44:30Eight went to Bijon, the running back. That is not a real NFL offense.
44:35I mean, he missed Pitts on a seam route.
44:37London was not involved. I'll say this, man. I loved Pitts because I loved Tua and what he would do.
44:44Yeah. Let me say this. Fantasy face-off that we do every Friday.
44:48Oh, yes. My Green Goblin, which is the easy.
44:51It's generally. That's the game. It's a freebie. Yeah.
44:54Mine was like, what, Baker 150 yards or something.
44:57Mine was two and a half receptions for Kyle Pitts.
45:00I said, oh, certainly he will get more. And then I had already locked in.
45:05And then it was like, oh, well, Cooper Rush is going to be the quarterback.
45:10I'm like, no, you know what? Certainly Cooper Rush could get the ball to Kyle Pitts three times.
45:15Yeah, but who's going to spin the wheel? Not me, maybe.
45:19It feels really bad because we all did great.
45:22Yeah, it does feel bad. You'll be a loser.
45:25We all crushed. I mean, because we all cashed, all three of our lineups.
45:29Four for four, three for four, three for four.
45:32Yeah, we all. And then you guys did a tiebreaker last night, which Jason narrowly lost.
45:37Yeesh. So I'm pretty happy with that. We saw people's feedback.
45:41It was almost perfect. Did all right. And I think the only one you missed was Jordan Love's rush attempts.
45:48Yeah. The only one you missed was Kyle Pitts' Cooper Rush problem.
45:51Jordan Love was supposed to have a couple of kneel downs at the end of the game.
45:57But then they were like, oh, I forgot. I know you were counting on that.
46:02Yeah. Jonathan Taylor was great. Chuba Hubbard was great.
46:05Javante scored twice. Brees Hall, your start of the week.
46:08Great, Jason. Bucky Irving, Mike's start of the week.
46:11And your number one draft pick, Jason. Oh, dude, my heart.
46:14Cookin'. He's got my heart. Only eight carries. That's the only thing I'm going to point out there.
46:20It was eight carries. They were down so much.
46:23I mean, you had Kenny Gainwell with five carries.
46:26They just didn't run. They had to just drop back a pass so quick.
46:31What was wild is, do you know who the lowest yards per attempt in the entire league was in week one?
46:38Was it Baker? Baker Mayfield. I feel like Burroughs wasn't great.
46:41It did not look great. But this is why I'm saying I'll hold off on Bucky.
46:46Look, week one looks great. If I had Bucky, I'm not trading him.
46:51I'm feeling good about my pick. But it's like Kenny Gainwell was in for 46% of the snaps.
46:56Work on the ground was very close, eight to five.
47:00The targets happened to go to Bucky. And it's like with the snaps being almost shared, those targets almost certainly could have
47:07gone to Gainwell as well when he was on the field.
47:10So that's why I'm just a hold. I will say what was very good to see was that Bucky looked like he
47:17actually looked like the Bucky of two years ago.
47:20We'll take a break. We'll talk wide outs. The number one fantasy scorer at the wide receiver position in week one was Jalen Coker at 29.8 fantasy points.
47:29So you talk about waiver wire pickups. Yeah. That's going to be the biggest.
47:34Yes. Probably the biggest one. Number two, though. Christian Watson.
47:37Oh. What? Christian Watson. Are we doing a week one victory lap right now?
47:42Yeah, you got him. He's healthy. Listen, it's like the Cardinals.
47:45You don't know how long you got him. He's so good.
47:49It felt like it all came in the first half.
47:52It really did. That's how Minnesota won. They're like, hey, we should take Christian Watson out of the game.
47:58Christian Watson was awesome. And a, look, Matthew Golden.
48:01I think that's, even though Watson crushed for fantasy for week one, I think he's going to be, Watson is, like, we're looking good.
48:09Matthew Golden led the team in routes and target share.
48:1231%. I mean, that is the consolidation. Really? It looks like it should work for Matthew Golden.
48:18From what I'm seeing, I believe he was like 41% in the slot last year in his opportunities.
48:24And it was 5% in this game. So, the change of role in the dedicated targets.
48:29Yeah, we'll see. Zay Flowers, Amon Ross, St. Brown, Justin Jefferson, the other top three.
48:34Oh, Justin Jefferson. We are so back. If Carson Wentz.
48:37But it would probably be Kyler. It probably will be Kyler.
48:41But, like, maybe not next week. I doubt next week.
48:44But then what if Carson goes out? I mean, Chicago next week.
48:48Genuinely, if Carson Wentz goes out next week and throws for 300 and.
48:52Couldn't it also be McCarthy? I mean, because I had seen comments.
48:56Here's what I had seen is that the order of operations on the backup quarterback is not necessarily indicative of who they would start in an injury.
49:05Sure. Now, with Wentz winning the game. That's the thing.
49:08That's what's going to create Wentz starting this next week.
49:11I mean, he went out there and played well enough to, you know, he threw three touchdowns.
49:17But Amon Ra eventually got it done. Two touchdowns, 10 for 67, 14 targets.
49:21And you know what? J-Mo. They gave J-Mo chances to get in this game and he dropped the ball.
49:27Yes, he did. More than once. I was kind of.
49:30That was a bummer. Chris Olave was a machine.
49:33Again, 86 plays. You're probably not going to get that every week.
49:37But, yeah, he looked every bit. The Chris Olave that got the paycheck, that got the big year last year.
49:44Yeah, we even had an injury scare. Come on, guys.
49:47It is normal Olave. That was a scare. And Devon Vele as well.
49:51Yeah, spot starter. You're not always going to have as many snaps as we're in that play.
49:57But we've talked a lot this offseason about Kellen Moore offenses.
50:00They do have more snaps than most. I mean, it was a combination of also playing against Detroit, having an overtime, yada, yada.
50:08But the reason we wanted this offense was just because of pace of play and you get more snaps, more opportunities for fantasy points.
50:16What other big names are worth talking about? DJ Moore, 5 for 100.
50:20Nico, 7 for 75. Had a couple other chances to score.
50:23Parker Washington, all in the first half, 5 for 83 and a touchdown.
50:28And, man, was it an impressive touchdown. Yeah. I think that's a pretty good deal.
50:32Lad McConkie still finished with a solid stat line despite the chest injury.
50:37Top five tight ends on the week. Man, he was such a finalist for my guy.
50:42And through one week, I regret not choosing him over one of my injured dudes.
50:47Isaiah Likely, 23.8 fantasy points. Dallas Goddard, start of the week, 21.7 fantasy points.
50:51Trey McBride, sticky-go-sicky. The amount of times. Dude. Now, Jamar Chase last year had like no points in week one.
50:58Yeah. This year, no points in week one. It's a thing.
51:01It's a thing for this offense to get going.
51:04But, man, every time I looked up, Burrow was thrown to a tight end.
51:09He was. He really – and Tia Higgins was better than Jamar Chase, but it still wasn't a fantastic game.
51:15They really – I don't know. They were clamping down on the wide receivers, just maybe fully selling out.
51:21I mean, worked out for the Bengals in the long run.
51:25Dalton Kincaid, I think, is one of the most interesting storylines.
51:29He scored 15.5, and he did not score a touchdown.
51:32Yeah, exactly. This is a player who has been great on a per-route, per-touch, per-pass basis.
51:37Like, he's been really, really good. Last year, with his knee injury, he played 38% of the snaps.
51:43That is obviously an irrelevant player you can't throw out there.
51:46And we were just saying all offseason – And yet you could have taken shots on him last year.
51:53Yeah. I mean, he had plenty of good games despite 38% of snaps.
51:57We were just saying if he's actually healthy and he ends up being a 70-plus percent snap player, then he could be a top-five tight end.
52:05He played 72% of the snaps and was very, very, very good.
52:09Through one week, the Muth got Luth. All right.
52:12Five targets, five for 46. That's always fun. He was like the deep sleeper of the offseason that I brought up one time and then got embarrassed about.
52:21Juwan Johnson, three for 54-1. Never a doubt. Oh, man.
52:24Never a doubt, everybody. 22 routes. I feel like in the fourth quarter – was he goosed going into the fourth?
52:31I think so. It was something like that. His first catch was the touchdown, so it felt like, okay, totally.
52:38We're good. Bailed out. We're good. A 20-yard touchdown is fine.
52:41He kept getting targets. And then TJ Hawkinson scored, so there you go.
52:46Let's go ahead and we won't spend as much time here because it's week one.
52:50We don't want to overreact, but we'll spend some time.
52:54Here we go. Hooped in his big boy pants.
52:57Yes, yes, yes. We did have some – we had some big boys that let you down, starting with Drake May.
53:03We saw that in Seattle. Justin Herbert. Oh, man.
53:062-0, 9-1, and maybe without Ladd for another game.
53:09I mean, I did not see – it was just broken on every level.
53:14Everything looked bad. Even Hampton. Yes. They barely gave Hampton any work, and then Hampton fumbled, and he got into the end zone, but somehow nothing looked good.
53:23No. Their running game, their offensive line. Sorry. I realized we have a new back wall graphic for the duds, and you should definitely dress like that, Jason.
53:32I'm thinking about it. I'm thinking about it. You missed us in the studs.
53:36Me and Jay were yoked. We looked great. Those – the studs, those are real pictures.
53:42Yeah, these ones. Yeah, that's real. The duds. Oh, man, you guys are looking good.
53:47Yeah. Even with a cupcake shirt. Also the biggest muffin.
53:50Why is the cupcake shirt on? That's a stud muffin.
53:53Okay. Yeah. All right. Thank you. Is that on the shirt, or is that in the air?
53:59It's on your shirt. Okay. Okay. Well, maybe we touch that up.
54:02But we're talking duds. I thought it was a floating muffin.
54:06Yeah. Where do we go from the Herbert against the Raiders part performance?
54:10I genuinely think what you do is you throw out week one and pray.
54:15He gets the Raiders. Yeah. Well, I mean, he got the Cardinals.
54:19You just hope that they go back and fix some stuff.
54:22All teams across the league will have down games.
54:25Sometimes they happen in week one. Like we talked about, the Patriots last year lost to the Raiders at home and then went to the Super Bowl.
54:34You just have to hope because nothing looked good.
54:37Nothing on either side of the ball looked good for the Chargers.
54:41I can't believe I'm saying this, but the Bengals won because their defense was good.
54:4625 for 35, 254-1. 254-1 for Burrow. It was a letdown in this matchup.
54:50It was. It'll be better. It's kind of what they do.
54:54Week one is bad, but I will say. They normally lose them.
54:58Yeah. They do normally lose them because they usually have a terrible defense.
55:02Their defense looked good, caused a lot of turnovers.
55:05And, you know, both the Cowboys and the Bengals last year's great offenses with terrible defenses.
55:10They both invested heavily in the defense. Cowboys look like they failed.
55:14Bengals look like they might have succeeded. A little early to tell, but worth watching.
55:19Baker, Stafford, down games. And then this one I do want to talk about.
55:23I thought it looked horrible. I thought the Dallas offense looked bad.
55:27175-2 for Dak. Threw a pick. Man, if George Pickens just didn't drop three passes, would we feel like it was bad?
55:34Because they were all three bombs. I'd like to see one of those two receivers not have a drop day.
55:41Dak had the most passes over 20 yards, and none of them were completions.
55:45Like, he'll be fine. By the way, is that true, Matt?
55:49Yeah, I think so. Oh, my gosh. He still can't talk in the microphone.
55:53Two drives in the second half for Dallas? So it was, yeah, I think so.
55:58I think that was true. That's insane. Yeah, because they couldn't get the Giants off the field on third down.
56:05That's insane. It was a tweet from a good friend of the show, JJ.
56:09It says, nearly 18% of Dak's past attempts on Sunday went for 20 more air yards, the sixth highest rate in football.
56:16He didn't complete any of them. Yeah, he missed Lamb on that bomb.
56:21With Lamb and George Pickens, that won't carry over, so I'm not concerned about this.
56:26Mike, morbid satisfaction in Quinchon Judkins performing like this, 12 for 33, two targets.
56:30A bet against Deshaun Watson is a cashable bet.
56:33Yeah, it's unfortunate. It's unfortunate because I like Judkins.
56:36I think that Judkins can be a good running back, but when you have a bad quarterback and your offensive line is
56:43not elite, it doesn't really matter how good you are.
56:46Here is one player that I have some real thoughts on.
56:50Marshawn Lloyd against Minnesota. I know how good Minnesota's defensive front is.
56:54They played a big part in this. However, Chris Brooks and Marshawn Lloyd through one week as the lead backs of the
57:01Packers, left so much to be desired, in my opinion.
57:04Yeah. There were two thoughts I had. One, we may see some Caleb Johnson soon.
57:09And two, Jacobs will be everything. Oh, we did have a Jacobs.
57:13Maybe even more when he comes back. We have at least one Jacobs update that it is.
57:18He pled no contest to... I did mention it on the show last Friday.
57:23Yeah, last Friday we had all that covered. The only thing we didn't talk about was the fact that they had actually
57:30sealed the record in court, which sometimes means that the NFL can't get as much access to the case information.
57:37And that can cause the suspension to be... They may factor in.
57:40In fact, there's a lot of precedent for them factoring in games missed on commissioner's list.
57:46But we don't have... The league is trying to get the video.
57:50Yeah. But we don't have a decision yet from the league.
57:53But I was not impressed with Lloyd Orbrooks. And I know there were a handful of okay runs, but 13 for 37 for Lloyd.
58:01I thought he was really, really hesitant from the handoff.
58:04Like, he'd get the ball and he'd make a move that wasn't a response to the defense coming at him, but was just a little bit of a...
58:13Let's juke for juke's sake. I didn't like that.
58:16I think it's fair criticism. But to me, it was like, okay, nothing I saw means Jacobs will have a reduced workload.
58:23We'll see what happens. And the Vikings are a good defense.
58:27I just thought we were on the way to basically the Packers establishing a great passing game.
58:32And then that being the precedent for, like, Love's going to be the leader of the offense.
58:38It won't be the running game. Like, we'll start to transition into a heavier...
58:42I'm just kind of disappointed the way it went.
58:45Yeah, and honestly, Marshawn Lloyd got enough work to show something, to have one good explosive play.
58:51And he looked bad every single time he touched the ball again against a good defense.
58:56So we'll see. Next week, they go on the road against the Jets.
59:00Opportunity to rebound, to show something special. You want to talk about...
59:04There's a commonality here. These are teams that mostly lost.
59:07Tony Pollard, seven carries for 35 yards. I believe the split was nearly even.
59:1226 snaps to 25 snaps. Okay, there you go.
59:15With Tajay Spears. With Tajay Spears. But don't worry, neither will be good.
59:19Let's... For the foreseeable future, the Titans don't have big boy pants.
59:23If they're studs, we'll celebrate them. Yeah, they can't.
59:26Yeah, duds are pooped in your big boy pants, not little boy pants.
59:30Not unless Mitchell Trubisky is starting. Oh, who would have thought you'd...
59:34He's got the big boy pants. I mean, if you're at the cope phase of like, only Trubisky can save by my guy, you're in real deep doo-doo.
59:43Yeah. I'm up... Like, my nose is just barely out of the water.
59:47I am drowning. I'm going to have some Cam Ward cards for sale soon.
59:52Jalen Warren and Rico Dowdle were... I mean, Warren was better by a lot.
59:56So here's what's funny. Warren was better by a lot.
60:00Fantasy-wise. Fantasy-wise. He turned 10 carries into 46 rushing yards versus Rico turned 8 into only 15.
60:05They both had a good amount of targets. Six targets to Jalen Warren, five targets to Rico Dowdle.
60:11Rico turned it into six yards. Rico was terrible.
60:14However, when you look at the splits, you know, you go, okay, so obviously Warren was the one.
60:20Rico was irrelevant. The actual snaps, 39 snaps went to Rico.
60:23Only 25 went to Jalen Warren. Passing snaps, 29 to Rico.
60:27Only 13 to Warren. Warren was way better. And so maybe they flipped that.
60:31But the player on the field that they were trying to get going who couldn't do anything was Rico.
60:38So stay tuned. Three big names that were disappointing.
60:41Not quite duds in week one. James Cook against Houston.
60:44Not worried in the slightest. No, stay-quant against Washington.
60:47Not really worried there either. A little more worried there.
60:50Are you? Just of, he wasn't fantastic last year.
60:53I mean, 15 for 83. And he had to do a lot of blocking.
60:57And then Devon Achan, 11 for 36 on the ground.
61:01That one is more. Four for 30 through the air.
61:04I believe Achan played the most snaps percentage-wise of any running back in week one.
61:09So he wasn't sharing any time. But there wasn't much time on offense for this team.
61:14Every time I looked up, it was a dink and dunk drive for Kirk Cousins.
61:19And then a three and out or a short drive for the Dolphins.
61:23And so through one week, you know. When you get all of a bad thing, it's bad.
61:29Yeah. Yeah, he ended up. It was funny because I traded Achan.
61:33I traded for Achan. Traded Hampton away in a bigger trade.
61:36And they were 9.5 and 9.7 fantasy points in week one.
61:40Both disappointed. I think it's going to take the Dolphins, if they get it going, it will take them some time to figure it out.
61:48I agree. When you have two rookie wide receivers, when you have a new offensive coordinator, head coach, and quarterback, I mean,
61:55how good can it get is the problem. And their upcoming schedule, Mike brought it up earlier, it's terrible.
62:01San Francisco, Kansas City, Minnesota. Oh, golly. Wide receiver disappointments, Jamar Chase.
62:05An off day. Two for 12. That was a bummer.
62:08Two be expected, sadly. Off day for George Pickens.
62:11Three for 28 and some drop skis. Yeah. Drake London, two for 29.
62:15Not his fault, but terrible. Devontae Smith, three for 53.
62:19This was part of what looked weird in this offense.
62:22I mean, Wicks got a 75-yard catch and a touchdown.
62:25Devontae Smith, three for 53. You wanted more than that.
62:28I did. Yeah. I wanted more than that. He was the start of the week.
62:33I didn't think that the commander's defense was really good enough to stop and slow down the Eagles.
62:39They seemed like they were. Thankfully, the next two weeks, Tennessee and Chicago.
62:43Maybe the Eagles can get it going a little bit more.
62:47But I was super disappointed in Devontae Smith. Roma Dunes, a Luther Burden.
62:51Two for 52, five for 63. Neither scored. This is worth a discussion because there's been so much offseason talk about the three receivers, including Loveland in here.
63:00And all three were disappointing in a game where the Bears scored 59 points.
63:05It's crazy. Roma Dunes, I kind of throw it out.
63:08He didn't play as many snaps, but he was coming back from a cap injury.
63:13He was a part-time player. So that's less concerning.
63:16Luther Burden, to me, is actually more concerning. Five for 63 is not the end of the world for Luther Burden.
63:23When you have a fumble, it really kills your fantasy output.
63:26Fantasy-wise, yes. I'm not concerned is my way of saying that.
63:30Now, you might get two in a row. They go to Minnesota or they play Minnesota next week.
63:35You may have two down weeks in a row.
63:38I don't know. I wasn't concerned, but I also, I mean, I feel like by being concerned about Burden, are we in on Kalief Raymond?
63:47I mean, I'm not. No, I'm not. No, I don't think so.
63:50I think I'm guessing that Kalief Raymond, Jedi Walker, maybe they got some more run because Roma Dunes wasn't on the field as much.
63:58Rome played, I think, like 48% snap share of passing snaps.
64:02Luther Burden was at 73. Three, Luther didn't play as much as you would have.
64:07He didn't play as much as I would have wanted in two wide receiver sets.
64:12That was the thing that was a little bit concerning.
64:15He was more slot, which, you know, Ben Johnson coming over, we want slot.
64:19We wanted that Amin Ra role. So, you know, something to pay attention to.
64:24But I was a little disappointed with the utilization of Burden.
64:27Cardinals won, but they didn't use Marvin Harrison. One for 33 on three targets.
64:32It was, he had a drop on his first target.
64:35It was gross. And it might just, I mean, they just paid Michael Wilson.
64:40Trey McBride is, Trey McBride and Michael Wilson are the dogs.
64:43So that's a little scary. We'll see. It's just one week, but will they be more intentional getting him the ball at home next week?
64:51We'll find out. Terry McLaurin was awful. I mean, two for 14.
64:55Invisible. And the other part of that is I thought Antonio Williams looked amazing.
65:00I mean, he was four for 64 and a touchdown.
65:03But go watch the touchdown. Go watch the route.
65:06I mean, he looked good. I thought he... Yards per route run were outstanding.
65:11Stephon Diggs, nine targets. There are two rookie wide receivers I'm pretty interested in, like in the waiver wire.
65:17Antonio Williams was drafted nowhere. But then Ted Hurst.
65:20I mean, Chris Godwin. Yeah! Chris Godwin. Oh, baby!
65:23Was not good. Four for 40. Four targets. And when I saw him at the ball, I mean, it was pure...
65:29Yeah. He's going to find a way to get open.
65:33But I mean, Keenan Allen played this week, right?
65:36And he had a bunch of targets and it was worth nothing.
65:39That was such a weird game. I'm a little worried that Godwin will be like Keenan.
65:45Four for 40 for Godwin. But Ibuka is five for 63.
65:48Yeah. Like, weird. That one feels... Three turnovers by Baker?
65:51Yeah. Two... He had two fumbles. And then Bucky had a fumble.
65:55And then... Was there another pick by Baker? He had two picks.
65:59Oh. Yeah. Carnell Tate, six targets, four for 38.
66:02Wandale, six targets, five for 38. Baker had no picks.
66:05Okay. So it was just a fumble. Yeah, it was just...
66:09He had fumbles. No picks. Yeah. I'm seeing no picks and three fumbles.
66:13Oh, three fumbles. Okay. Yeah, yeah. Three turnovers, all fumbles.
66:16I got you. Tight ends. This line feels bad.
66:19Well, why don't you talk about it? Colson Loveland, two targets.
66:23And making matters worse, which is always the case when something goes like this, when another tight end has a big touchdown
66:30or a big catch, like Cole Komet did. I mean, he ran the second most routes of any tight end and ended up goosing.
66:38Colson Loveland. Yeah. Where you at, dog? One of them should have been a touchdown.
66:43All I can take is that the Bears' offense was amazing.
66:46They're going to score a bunch of points. He ran the second most routes of any tight end in week one.
66:53And it will happen. But the fact that we have a zero as our floor, that felt impossible.
66:59Yeah. This is the behind-the-scenes metrics of the offense is great and he's running the most routes.
67:04Says you can trade for him. You can be confident that good games are coming.
67:09But I will say that the one fear that I had coming in for the Bears was...
67:15Was Kalief Raymond. No, was that if the Bears were really good and Colson Loveland's good and Roma Duns is good and
67:22Luther Burden is good, that it will be they're taking turns.
67:26And you won't necessarily have everybody dominating or anyone being super consistent.
67:29That would be my fear going forward. Sure. It was just like, we're going to have great Loveland games.
67:36You're just going to have some bad ones. We're going to have great Burden games.
67:40You're just going to have some bad ones along the way.
67:44And it's a scary proposition from a consistency standpoint.
67:47Which is the biggest challenge with tight ends because here's another guy, Kyle Pitts.
67:52Cooper Rush. Yeah, you've got to just throw it out until you've got the starting quarterback.
67:57I feel okay with Pitts with Pennix, but I mean, not as good as I did with Tua.
68:03How many back spousins are we going to get there, by the way?
68:07I think it'll be one week. I would be surprised if Rush plays this next week.
68:12George Kittle, five targets, two for 12, coming back from injury.
68:16Harold Fannin. This one sucked. Harold Fannin. The second Shadour has made the starter, I would make him a trade-for target.
68:22Yes. But not before. Shadour will start. So if you want to...
68:26I mean, they might go through four starters this year.
68:29Yeah, but I think Andy's point is if Shadour doesn't start until week five, I don't think you want to trade for
68:37Fannin right now and have a month of Watson version of Fannin.
68:41Well, it was when we had looked at the...
68:43So they start with two road games. So Jacksonville and then Tampa Bay.
68:48And when I was looking at it after the announcement of, oh, Watson's going to be the starter, it's like, hmm, I don't know.
68:55Two road games? Just let Watson go out there and fall in his face.
69:00And either you're like, whoa, we're surprised. Deshaun Watson remembered how to play quarterback, which he hasn't done well for, I don't know, four years or something.
69:09Or we go on the road, we take those losses, and then we get back home, and then I don't think financially they can't.
69:17Can we do it, though? Like, if you take him out after two weeks, that'd be the best thing for the team.
69:24For sure. Well, that's what I was saying of week three, when they come home.
69:29If Deshaun Watson is terrible in week two... Win.
69:31Win. Okay, this is win. And this is all just optics and theater and everything, but to go to your home opener
69:39after Watson destroyed your team for two weeks... Oh, and get him booed?
69:43Yeah. Oh, he will... The boos will be so loud.
69:46Yeah, you either switch them out after the first quarter of that game, or you do it beforehand.
69:52As it turns out, Watson, the fans not liking you is also performance-based.
69:56It's personal, but it is also your performance. It's everything.
69:59It is personal and performance. Yes. Yes, it is.
70:02And, yeah, that's a... There are some teams this week that they had some rough weeks, and I would not feel like
70:09I was happy if I was their fans. Waiver show tomorrow.
70:13So we'll talk about our first week one waiver show.
70:16Don't forget, we got waiver pickups specific to your league inside of the Ultimate Dashboard.
