A.J. Brown

PositiveProjection28:01

A.J. Brown is a high-upside target moving from a low-volume offense to a high-volume one in New England. Despite concerns about his age (turning 30) and a tough early-season schedule, he is a proven dominator who finished as the WR10 last year while missing two games. His opportunity volume is expected to increase by 25% following the departure of Stefon Diggs.

Insight page

Alec Pierce

NegativeInjury9:03

Alec Pierce is approximately two weeks away from returning to practice. The source expresses more concern regarding Pierce than Luther Burden because Pierce is attempting to transition into a new role as a possession receiver and is missing critical off-season and training camp reps to learn that role.

Insight page

Amon-Ra St. Brown

PositiveUsage46:47

The source highlights St. Brown's extreme safety and high floor, noting he led the league in receptions where he was tackled inside the five-yard line (8 times) while still scoring 11 touchdowns. He maintains a consistent 27-31% target share and is viewed as the primary possession receiver in a top-tier offense.

Insight page

C.J. Stroud

PositiveProjection22:56

C.J. Stroud is projected for 3,600 passing yards, a number that reflects a conservative baseline. Despite some skepticism, Stroud has proven he can hit 4,000 yards as a rookie and 3,700 in a full sophomore season, making a return to that production level highly achievable.

Insight page

Carnell Tate

PositiveSleeper56:56

The source identifies Cornell Tate as a sneaky player outside the top 20 who could surprise and emerge as a top-10 wide receiver. He has been the clear number one in camp, though his fantasy success depends on quarterback Cam Ward's ability to support him.

Insight page

CeeDee Lamb

PositiveProjection27:53

CeeDee Lamb is considered a top-tier fantasy option. Despite a tough end to the previous season, he remains the clear WR1 for the Cowboys. The source prefers him over Justin Jefferson at their current ADP, citing confidence in his role and the team's offensive potential.

Insight page
PositiveProjection44:17

Despite a down year statistically (11.7 PPG), the source notes that per-game numbers were skewed by an injury game and a Week 18 rest game; when adjusted, his production is closer to 13 PPG. The source remains confident in his status as an alpha wide receiver and a top-five fantasy player, citing his consistency and the expectation that last year's drop issues will not persist.

Insight page

Christian Watson

PositiveValue57:31

The source mentions Christian Watson as a special player currently outside the top 10 who has the potential to jump into that tier this season.

Insight page

Dallas Goedert

PositiveProjection15:23

The source is highly optimistic about Dallas Goedert, calling him a 'machine' and a near-must-draft player. Despite the Eagles having a low-volume passing offense, Goedert is expected to benefit from the absence of A.J. Brown and the injury issues surrounding other depth receivers like Makai Lemon.

Insight page

Drake London

NegativeProjection40:11

Drake London is ranked highly due to target consolidation, but he faces a murky quarterback situation involving Tua Tagovailoa and Michael Penix Jr. It is historically difficult for a WR to finish in the top 10 with a quarterback ranked outside the top 30, making London a risky selection despite his talent.

Insight page

Garrett Wilson

PositiveValue59:48

In a dynasty 'win-now' context, the source prefers Garrett Wilson over Rashee Rice, suggesting that Wilson is a superior asset for immediate production.

Insight page

George Pickens

NegativeBreakout24:12

George Pickens is viewed as an elite, budding superstar. Last year, he recorded five weeks of 20+ fantasy points, trailing only Puka Nacua in week-winning performances. While his 21% target share with CeeDee Lamb on the field is a concern for a top-10 finish, he proved he can dominate when Lamb is sidelined. He is a strong target at his ADP of 11.

Insight page

Hunter Henry

NegativeValue22:17

Hunter Henry is described as a 'Dalton Schultz-esque' solid tight end. He is a reliable player who historically produces well early in the season, making him a viable starter for fantasy managers.

Insight page

Ja'Marr Chase

PositiveProjection53:20

The source ranks Chase as a top-tier wide receiver, noting his ceiling is tied to a healthy Joe Burrow. While Puka Nacua had higher per-game points last year, the source prefers Chase due to the Bengals' offensive environment and potential for high-scoring games.

Insight page

Jadarian Price

PositiveBreakout58:07

The source notes that Jadarian Price is a first-round talent on a team that lost both starting running backs. While there are concerns about his lack of a college receiving profile, the head coach has praised his receiving ability, and he is expected to rise in ADP as preseason progresses.

Insight page

Josh Downs

NegativeInjury10:40

Josh Downs is currently dealing with a groin injury, which complicates the team's receiving corps outlook alongside the injury to Alec Pierce.

Insight page

Justin Jefferson

NegativeProjection30:30

Justin Jefferson remains a premier talent, but his fantasy outlook is clouded by significant quarterback uncertainty. While historical data suggests elite players bounce back from down years, the current situation with J.J. McCarthy and Kyler Murray creates a high-risk floor. He is a risky pick at his current ADP, though his talent level keeps him in the top-10 conversation.

Insight page

Luther Burden

NegativeInjury6:59

Luther Burden will miss the entire preseason due to a Grade 2 groin strain. While the source notes that a typical recovery timeline suggests he should be ready for Week 1, there is now an elevated re-injury risk and potential for him to miss the season opener, leading the analysts to increase his risk rating and potentially lower his ranking.

Insight page

Malik Nabers

PositiveInjury23:37

Malik Nabers is trending toward being ready for Week 1. The source notes that he looks better each week and expects him to be fully back to his pre-injury form by Week 6.

Insight page

Nico Collins

NegativeProjection22:28

Nico Collins is the clear WR1 for the Texans and a solid fantasy asset. Despite a down year relative to his previous two seasons, he remains a good player in a high-upside offense. His yardage line is set at 3,600, which is a conservative estimate that accounts for risk, but he has the potential to exceed this given his role as the primary target.

Insight page
NegativeProjection28:35

Nico Collins is ranked as the WR10. While he is a highly efficient player with three straight 1,000-yard seasons, the source expresses concern regarding his target volume (averaging 8 targets per game vs. the 9-target threshold for top-10 WRs) and the Texans' team strategy, which may prioritize running the ball with a strong defense rather than high-volume passing.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

PositiveUsage53:49

The source views Nacua as a potential fantasy-breaking player, citing trust in Sean McVay to keep him heavily involved in the offense. Despite the presence of a strong defense, the source believes the Rams' offense will continue to be aggressive, keeping Nacua in the conversation for 200 targets.

Insight page

Rashee Rice

NegativeValue59:48

The source discusses Rashee Rice in a dynasty context, noting that while he is a valuable asset, they would prefer Garrett Wilson for immediate 'win-now' team construction.

0:32Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast with your hosts, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright.
0:37Welcome in. Monday, August 10th. Welcome into the Fantasy Footballers Podcast.
0:41Jason Moore, Mike, the Fantasy Hitman. I'm Andy Holloway.
0:44And we are back. The season approaches. The injuries are piling up.
0:48That is the official sound effect of injuries. I feel personally targeted with this current round of injuries.
0:54Yeah, I agree. I mean, Luther Burden and... Flowers.
0:57Say flowers. Yeah, it's... What's this all about? Oh, and then, you know, even...
1:02I guess it's more than just injuries, I feel like, are attacking you in the moment.
1:07What's that? Because I feel like the news is bending on a couple situations, like against you.
1:13Like the Bayshall Tootin. Oh, no, that... Yes. I mean, there's a few things that feel like Mike is finally...
1:19We're turning the corner on the year of Mike.
1:22Yeah, the year of Mike is, you know... No.
1:25Was back there. No? The chips are still in on Tootin, guys.
1:29Oh, okay. Okay. Well, please bring that ADP down.
1:32Is that what it is? That's my hope. It's a win-win for you.
1:36If the news is bad, then the ADP is down.
1:40We got a great show. We got wide receivers today, the top 10 countdown.
1:44We've got injuries to catch you up on. That's not so fun, but we'll do it.
1:50And it should be good. We have more and more camp, more and more highlights.
1:55I mean, Carson Beck, there's no looking at it across the field.
1:59Oh, my goodness. That was pretty ballsy. Yeah. But if you're a Cardinal, you just do what you want.
2:05Because... Because why? What's the worst that can happen?
2:08It doesn't matter. Nothing matters. Also, you get to throw against that defense, which is...
2:13You don't even have to look. That's what that proves about the defense for the Cardinals.
2:18I don't know why they paid Jacoby Brissett, though.
2:21That's the part that's just... Because we are an unserious franchise.
2:25That's why. Yeah. I know. Somebody was trying to break it down, and I go, yes, but you're applying logic to the situation.
2:33That's not part of the Arizona Cardinals. Correct. YouTube.com slash the Fantasy Footballers.
2:37Make sure you subscribe. Click the bell over there.
2:40Make sure you are up to date on all the new videos, because Sunday Live is coming soon.
2:46Mike is with you an hour before kickoff. Last-minute changes and adjustments.
2:50I mean, we can get the rankings. Our rankings get updated all Sunday morning, right up to kickoff.
2:56But there's still news and things that are, you know, decisions that you're making.
3:00We'd all love to be able to lock our lineup in on, you know, Wednesday afternoon and have it be a done deal.
3:08That's just not how fantasy works anymore. Well, and everything is...
3:12You know it. There's nuance to everything in fantasy football.
3:15So, you know, we talk through rankings of, like, sometimes the player is slightly ranked ahead, but look at the actual situation.
3:22Don't just go all blindly off of this list.
3:25What does your team need? And also, just the tips.
3:29It is our short-form content that we've been putting out in August.
3:33New episode just hit on Saturday. What's that episode?
3:36Exclusively. And that is only... This week was sleepers.
3:39Ten late-round sleepers talking through, you know, like, my process of how we identify those situations and then not just giving you
3:46situations, but also some names that, like, I'm going after.
3:49Is Dontavian Wicks one of the ten? He's not in this one.
3:53He could be, though. He's... The drum beat is getting louder.
3:57Yeah, and that is exclusively on YouTube. Yes. YouTube.com slash TheFantasyFootballers.
4:00You can watch it over there. What else is going on?
4:04You can follow us on X at TheFFBallers. The Ultimate Draft Kit available now with the new mock draft tool.

4:16Let's talk some news. News and notes from around the league.
4:19All right. Luther Burden is going to miss the entire preseason.
4:23They believe he'll be back for the regular season opener.
4:26It is not great news. It's a groin injury.
4:29Thank you. That was the authentic sound clip from the practice field.
4:33We piped it in. And me. Groins have been getting wrecked the last week.
4:38Groins have been getting wrecked. Yeah. In more ways than one.
4:42This one was a full disturbance in the force.
4:44I didn't even have to check Twitter. I just...
4:47You felt it? My body just started standing up.
4:50It was like... Your actual groin started hurting a little bit in sympathy.
4:55I was like... Luther! Grade 2 injury Matthew Betts is talking about.
4:59You just don't like to hear that at all.
5:02Of course not. You don't want to hear it, especially with the hype that everyone's so excited about Luther Burden, what he's been doing at camp.
5:10I will say that the normal timeline for a grade 2 groin strain should put him totally 100% fine to start the season.
5:18No dip in... A lot of times we talk about when you're coming off of certain injuries, it takes a couple weeks to ramp up to pre-injury production.
5:27The data doesn't say that on this one, so he should be good to go from week 1.
5:33However, there does come now a higher re-injury risk, and that would be the fear.
5:38I mean, talk to me for a second of how you're thinking about...
5:43We got news that Alec Pierce is about two weeks away from returning to practice.
5:47Ironically, on the last episode of the show, I said...
5:51I was saying if it's within three weeks, and then we kind of agreed, all right, within two weeks it comes back to practice, I'm feeling okay.
6:00Which situation are you less comfortable with? Pierce is coming back maybe in two weeks, got the contract, that gives him like
6:07three weeks for the season, a little less than that.
6:10Or missing the rest of practice with a re-injury risk?
6:14I'm definitely more, personally, I'm more concerned about Alec Pierce than I am about Luther Burden.
6:19Luther Burden has spent this entire off-season, the entire time using himself in the new role.
6:24He's established himself, and now he's unfortunately got to take some time off to rest.
6:29Alec Pierce, one of the arguments I know you've made, I've been more that Josh Downs is going to be the largest beneficiary...
6:37Hold on, let me do the Josh Downs effect.
6:40Ah! Yeah, he's also got the groin injury. He's got a groin injury now.
6:45But, you know, who's going to be the biggest beneficiary of losing the Michael Pittman targets?
6:50The issue is, Alec Pierce, if he's going to go into that different type of a role and be more of a
6:57possession guy, he just didn't get to practice it.
7:00You know, but if he comes back and just plays the role that he's played for this offense for the last couple years, then there's no worry.
7:09Like, if I'm a coach, I'm going to be like, dude, he knows his role.
7:14He knows this offense. Not that he can't move into other things, but obviously that is a big deal when you miss...
7:21If you want to, like, really go into a different role, but you miss the entirety of the off-season, training camp, pre-season, all of it.
7:30Mental reps, Jay. Well, my argument with Pierce has just been that he already has done a lot of that stuff.
7:37So, we'll see what happens with the injury. At least the team has come out and said, hey, he's going to get a ton of more targets.
7:46I mean, we have an injured... Right now, we have an injured Downs and an injured Pierce, a recovering from injury Daniel
7:53Jones, a newly minted Jonathan Taylor, and a ready-to-go Tyler Warren.
7:56That's your situation. Dog. Dog. Dog. I almost forgot.
7:59We have so many shows. It's funny, because people text us and message us things that we've said on the show, but
8:07we do hundreds and hundreds of shows, and I'm older than someone that could remember everything we've ever said.
8:13So, they were just reminding me that if you go back far enough, man, this was like...
8:19I forgot about Katzen Dogland situation. I forgot how much you dogged on the cat.
8:24Well, in college, he was, like, yet to break a tackle.
8:27He was not the... He is the downfield disc guy.
8:31Fast. Wait, are you doubling down on it? I'm just saying that it was true.
8:36It was like, that's not... That's objective. He didn't break tackles?
8:39This guy. No, he didn't really break tackles in college.
8:43He ran away from guys, but he was not a huge tackle breaker in college.
8:48Devontae Smith, Makai Lemon remained sidelined on Saturday, not practicing.
8:51There was a report this morning about, like, Makai Lemon.
8:54It's been a re-injury situation. He is somebody I'd be worried about the reps on significantly.
8:59I got a snake, man! Oh, yeah. Oh, that's right.
9:03Makai the snake. Because of the press conference. Yeah, because of the serpentine slither.
9:07I'll be honest. I was a little scared there.
9:10But the report this morning, I mean, all the news on Dontavian Wicks has been very, very positive.
9:16You got to remember, this is not a high, like, this is one of the lowest passing offenses in football.
9:23And so, I love Dallas Goddard, and this does not hurt my love of Dallas Goddard.
9:28I think he's a sneaky, near-my-guy-level, like, endorsement from me.
9:32I think Dallas Goddard is a machine this year.
9:35Because Eli Stowers, no news. Makai Lemon constantly hurt.
9:38A.J. Brown gone. Dontavian Wicks, you can give him a bunch of press.
9:42He's had it before. Got to catch the football.
9:45He does. And it's a low passing. But that's the thing.
9:49Like, there's not a lot to go around if you're the three.
9:53Yeah, for the three. And that's really maybe four.
9:56I mean, if Wicks, Smith, and Goddard are getting more targets than Makai Lemon, I'm just saying that worries me.
10:02Because you're not getting 5,000 passing yards out of Jalen Hurts.
10:06I agree. The thing for Goddard is he has to run hot with touchdowns, which he was at 11 last year after being 2, 3, 3, 4.
10:15You know, the targets, it was 82 targets. So, I mean, it's not bad.
10:19No, it's not bad. That was in 15 games.
10:22But I was going to mention, yeah, the volume is lower, but there's always been enough for A.J.
10:28Brown and Devontae Smith for them to both be, like, top 24 guys.
10:33But Wicks is undrafted. If Wicks truly becomes the number two, like, he has the playmaking ability to really make some noise in fantasy.
10:41The drops and everything. Players drop the ball. It does happen.
10:44And it seemed like it happened more for Wicks.
10:47And then it just, it becomes this self-fulfilling prophecy of, like, we see it.
10:52And you're like, oh, there, he's going to drop it again.
10:56There are some guys. They traded for him. And they gave him, like, a little bit of boost in money.
11:02And he's probably starting on the outside. Drops are not always a sticky thing.
11:07You know, you see some superstars, Jamar Chase or CeeDee Lamb or whatever.
11:11Or Evans. Yeah, they go through a little stretch.
11:14But there are a few guys. And I can think of three.
11:18Wicks. Quentin Johnson. Quentin Johnson and Marvin Harrison, where it's like, it's become such a thing for them that it can't not be in their head every pass.
11:27Yeah. The league leader in drops every year is always a superstar.
11:31But CeeDee Lamb or Al Monroe St. Brown, it's somebody that gets 150 targets.
11:36A bunch of more, yes. So you're going to have more of those.
11:40But I just think it's one of those obviously sneaky situations where you can have an undrafted guy.
11:46Wicks should go at the end of every draft.
11:49You could put him on your team and have, like, you have two injured guys.
11:54Like, Devontae Smith, he does get hurt. We talk about when A.J.
11:58Brown or him miss a game, Goddard benefits. We know that because the data's there because they missed time.
12:05I mean, Wicks was like, you know, if you were around for fantasy football in the offseason when Wicks got traded, I'll
12:12just speak for me personally, it was like, oh, this is actually sort of interesting because you already had it combined with
12:19the locked in, you know, promise that A.J. Brown was going to be traded.
12:24And it got completely derailed because Makai Lemon was drafted in the first round, which that totally makes sense.
12:30But if Makai Lemon is not a factor, maybe have some more excitement for Wicks.
12:35Have you guys heard one word about Hollywood Brown?
12:38No. He's there. No. I just remembered. Like, I was like, who else is there?
12:43Oh, yeah. Isn't Hollywood Brown there? But I've heard.
12:46No. If you told me he retired early this offseason, I would believe you.
12:51I'd be like, oh, I missed that news. Josh Jacobs did not practice Thursday or Friday or Sunday with a groin injury.
12:58The groin is going around. Jaden Reed did not practice on Sunday, ankle injury, Matthew Golden toe injury.
13:04So the Packers taking some time off there. A couple of bigger pieces of news.
13:09We got news this morning that the new center for the Lions is going to miss eight to ten weeks or longer in midseason return.
13:17That sucks. That was an upgrade point for them.
13:20They went out. They spent the money. And then they're going to miss it.
13:25Laramie Tunzel will miss the majority of the season.
13:28Torn triceps. That would be the commander's left tackle.
13:31And that's a big deal. It's a downgrade for that offensive line, which means Jaden, which means Bill.
13:37Bill. And then Hunter Henry agreed to a two-year contract extension for $14.5 million.
13:41I mean, he's the definition of a Dalton Schultz-esque solid tight end that could, if you start those guys on any given week, they could be fine.
13:50Absolutely. Hunter Henry's a good player. Especially to start the year.
13:54He always gets off to like the first two weeks of every season.
13:58It does feel like he owns the first couple weeks.
14:02He waited until weeks three and four this time.
14:05Oh, was it? But somewhere early in the season, he goes off every year.
14:09Is there any news that I, I mean, sprained MCL for Isaiah Pacheco.
14:13I missed that. They think he'll be ready in week one.
14:17That's all I know of right now. Yeah. Malik Nabors trending towards being ready for week one.
14:23That was the other news coming out from ESPN's Jordan Renan.
14:26How do you feel about that? Oh, yeah. And the quad contusion for Zay Flowers.
14:31Yeah. It seems as far as Malik Nabors, every video that you watch, you go, okay, he seems ready.
14:38Whether he is fully cleared for, you know, every bit of contact and every route.
14:43But I've also heard over the last couple of weeks, you know, from boots on the ground that he's looking better.
14:50Like every week that goes on, he's looking more and more like himself.
14:54So I think come week one, he will be on the field.
14:58I think come week six, he'll be back to his normal, you know, pre-injury self.
15:03Also, one other piece of news, I do believe that the quad issue with Mike Evans is in the past now.
15:10He was back out there. Okay. Did you move Luther Burden in your rankings because of the news?
15:16I have not adjusted yet. Okay. I mean, are you going to?
15:20Right now, I don't plan to. I was already, here, let me go.
15:24I can double check again. But like, because of his ADP, we've just been lower on him than the ADP because it took off like a rocket ship.
15:33Yeah. It's ironic because we have not been drafting much Luther Burden, even though we love the talent and the situation because of his ADP.
15:42But now with the injury, he's probably going to drop quite a bit as people are worried about it.
15:48And then maybe we end up with some Burden.
15:51I did up his risk rating in the draft.
15:54Yeah. And I may, I may be moved him just a touch.
15:58Cause there, I mean, there's a risk now. I mean, he could miss week one that, that actually is in the realm of possibility.
16:06All right. We'll take a break and jump into the top 10 wide receivers.
16:11Wide receivers. All righty. We did a wide receiver episode on Friday, counting down the number 20 through number 11 in our consensus rankings.
16:18We're looking at the top 10 today. This should be fun discussions to be had.
16:23What makes a top 10 wide receiver in fantasy since 2015?
16:27Someone finishing in the top 10 for fantasy, 67% of them averages nine or more targets per game.
16:33So you're talking cream of the crop, 73% had eight or more receiving touchdowns.
16:38So we should discuss these players in the context of can they reach that mark?
16:43The average numbers for top 10 wide receivers, 99 receptions on 148 targets, 1300 plus yards in 9.5 touchdowns.
16:49So you're talking big time year. Yeah. I mean, yeah.
16:52Top end is pulling that average. Yeah. Yeah. And, and maybe if we have time at the end, I'd love to know a name.
17:00I mean, maybe it was discussed on the last show.
17:04Maybe it's somebody else outside of the top 20, but somebody that you think can get up into that tier that isn't in that tier.
17:12We'll go ahead and, uh, we'll start it off here.
17:15Number 10. Nico Collins comes in at number 10.
17:18We finally found a guy. Yes, there it is.
17:21That I am the highest on. Yeah. It turns out that Mike is the highest on Nico Collins.
17:27He's been the wide receiver nine, 20 and eight the last three years.
17:31He has not played a complete season ever. I think that's something that might be not talked about much over Rico.
17:3814 games, 10 games, 15, 12, 15. So, you know, when you look at what he did last year, points per game,
17:46it was a little bit down 12.7 versus he's been at 14.7.
17:50He's a machine. He's a great player. Three straight thousand yard seasons.
17:54Um, second in yards per route run over the last three seasons.
17:58We love that number. Seventh in PPR points per game over the last three seasons.
18:03So he, if you just look at points per game, Puka, Jamar, Amon Ross, Seedy, Tyreek and Malik neighbors.
18:09And then Nico Collins ahead of Jefferson, ahead of AJ Brown, ahead of Devante Adams.
18:14We know he's the number one. We might not like CJ Stroud a lot, but this is the team that's going to
18:21be a very good threatening for the division. Where are you with the, you know, I'm looking their favorite in, uh, six of their first seven weeks.
18:30The Buffalo matchup in week one should be fun.
18:33Why doesn't he necessarily feel like drafting Jamar Chase or Jefferson?
18:37Is it all related to Stroud? No, I don't think it's all related to Stroud.
18:42A lot of it is also related to volume.
18:45He is, you know, the, the deep threat gets, you know, those bomb touchdowns.
18:49That's great. Wins you a week, but he's not a guy that's going to be up.
18:55You know, we just talked about pretty much the average top 10 wide receivers, usually about 150 targets.
19:01He's not going to get 150 targets. I don't think, I mean, that's just not how he's been utilized this last year.
19:08He had 120 targets. Yeah. He, he averaged eight targets a game and we said the threshold was nine.
19:14So he's just slightly range probably. Yeah. I mean, last year finishes the wide receiver eight, which is like, Oh, that's great.
19:22But it's ironic because we've talked a lot about how Zay flowers finishes the wide receiver seven, but it was like fake.
19:29Cause this year with injuries to other guys and the points per game, like he had his lowest points per game this past season.
19:37Nico Collins did, um, in the last couple of years.
19:40So what we saw last most recently was not really exciting, really inspiring as like we went into last year, believing he
19:47could be a top three wide receiver and then regressed on a points per game basis.
19:53Now you get, um, a couple other guys that the news round Jaden Higgins has been phenomenal recently.
19:59I don't know if people are plugged into that, but Higgins has been talked up like crazy, not just by beat reporters,
20:06but also, I mean, CJ Stroud himself by Nico Collins.
20:09Yeah. That boy, a dog got all the tools in the world.
20:13Going to be the face of the franchise one year.
20:17Yeah. So I mean, pretty good. And then you get tank Dell back.
20:21Um, so, I mean, maybe this just helps open things up for Nico, but to me, when I look at Nico versus
20:28the other guys around him, my biggest hardship is just target volume.
20:32And, um, I will say he's usually overcome it.
20:35So it's not a big scare. I don't, I don't look at him like a, like a bust pick.
20:41He's just not my favorite archetype personally. I wonder what Kyle, Kyle, if you want to look up what CJ Stroud's yardage
20:49line is set at this year, that's a concern for me.
20:52217 yards a game last year for CJ Stroud, a defense, a defense that is going to be built to minimize Stroud's
21:00mistakes, allow David Montgomery and Woody Marks to run the football.
21:03And then you'd think that Nico Collins would have been a player that has gotten to double digit touchdowns with that frame.
21:11He's never done it. Uh, eight, seven, six the last three years.
21:15Oh no. These trends continue. Yeah. I mean, based on how numbers work, but I think those are all, I think you
21:22guys brought up the main points there. And I think he's a very solid, you know, top 12 type of guy, but
21:29not going to be somebody that's going to can finish a number one.
21:34I don't think that's possible. It's really funny because there's two like types of options you want in the receiving game.
21:40You want a team that is just, you know, the bangles, the Cowboys teams are going to be putting up 30 points
21:48seen as a top five NFL offense, or you want a team that's like, they're going to be down all game.
21:55They've got to throw like crazy. And this is neither of those.
21:59This isn't going to be a top 10 offense.
22:02At least it's not currently projected that way because this is such a good defense, but this is a really good team.
22:09They're going to be hopefully running the ball in the fourth quarter versus throwing the ball.
22:14So it's like this double whammy against the passing game for the Texans.
22:19And it's at no fault of their own. It's, it's a good strategy to win ball games for the Texans.
22:25Yeah. And you have Stroud. They're going to win.
22:28And well, Nico is the Jaden Higgins stuff. I think it's interesting.
22:32Higgins is a, is a, he's a fun player as like we're going into year two.
22:37Uh, day two. I wasn't impressed on film last year by Jaden Higgins.
22:42I wasn't. I watched the, I watched the film and I felt like he left a lot on the table and I was surprised.
22:50Maybe it's Stroud that, you know, brings it down.
22:53Not enough opportunities, not enough good situations. The Stroud yardage line is 3599.
22:57Yeah. So he's sitting right at 3,600. It's the same number as Baker Mayfield.
23:02Stroud or, uh, sorry. Nico's the number one. That's like, that's easy.
23:06That's the, the argument for, for Nico Collins is he's very good.
23:10He is like, the last three years has been solid for fantasy.
23:14This past year was, was more down than the other two and Stroud for all of his weaknesses or, you know, perceived,
23:21uh, he's just, he can't get over the hump.
23:24He's not gonna be able to do it. 3,600 yards.
23:27That's enough where, you know, I've, I've talked about, you know, Ted Rolla McMillan and Bryce Young.
23:33It's like the reason that McMillan kind of freaks me out as the true number one on the team is Bryce Young, 3,000, 3,100 yards.
23:41Like that's a good season for Bryce. Stroud, Stroud hit 4,000 as a rookie was 3,700 in a full year, his sophomore season.
23:49Even if it didn't work out for us for fantasy football, that's 3,700 passing yards that he can easily return to.
23:56And Nico's the number one and is a good player.
23:59His line is set at 3,600 yards right now.
24:02And usually if, if you don't, if you're unaware lines are set a little lower than what a full healthy game is.
24:09Right. You gotta, you gotta bake in some risk.
24:12Number nine. George Pickens comes in at number nine.
24:15I've got him at eight. Mike is of course the lowest.
24:19Of course. Jason at 10. Of course. So we're right across that.
24:23I mean, I, I really, really, I believe Dallas could be a very good team this year.
24:29I agree there. It's not too dissimilar to Cincinnati.
24:32We've said it a million times, but they're very similar teams to all star, all pro wide outs running games.
24:38That'll be okay. Defenses that through Caleb Downs and Dexter Lawrence have both improved to the point where I think competitive, you
24:45know, being competitive and winning games with that kind of an offense should be there.
24:50Um, you know, the story with George Pickens, number five overall last year, he was awesome.
24:56Um, five weeks of 20 plus points. Only Puka had more week winning performances than George Pickens.
25:01You just have to have two guys on the same team finishes wide receiver ones here.
25:07We've seen it before. We've averaged one year, one pair per year since 2015.
25:11Um, you know, if I had to pick which team does it this year, which obviously I think everyone would be like Bengals or Cowboys.
25:20It would be the Cowboys. Yeah. The rankings and the ADP are pretty confident for the Cowboys.
25:25What other teams are in contention there? Would it be like Rams did it last year?
25:31Yeah. Yeah. Rams, um, maybe Detroit. I mean, cause just Jameson, Jameson's finished as a top 10 before.
25:37Yeah. They'd be in there. Maybe. I mean, they, that was 20, 25 was Amundra and Jameson.
25:42Yeah. Dark horse saints. Yeah. Now we're talking. Now we're talking.
25:46Yeah. Target competition with CD when CD was in, in the game.
25:50Um, Pickens was at 21% target share. So we don't like that number for a top 10 finish.
25:56Yeah. 21 on his routes, 26% when CD was out the, I think it's just the looking at last year is it's
26:03very noisy of in terms of, I don't think you can cleanly gather out of just doing like the box scores.
26:10Hey, you know, CD is for sure. Just by far the number one, cause you had early on in the season, it
26:17was George is just first games with the Dallas Cowboys and CD lamb was dominating.
26:22Then he gets hurt and George completely takes over not only the Cowboys, but he takes over fantasy football.
26:29And then the end of the season, they're both doing well.
26:32And there was, there's a couple of low games here and there.
26:36I, I think George Pickens is truly a, a, an elite, uh, budding superstar for, for the NFL.
26:42So, you know, I have them at 12 because I'm just, it's a, it's a little bit hedged.
26:48His ADP is at 11, but I have no problem with, with him going at 11.
26:53I have no problem with you. Andy, you got him at eight.
26:57I think that's perfectly acceptable for, for what George could do with CD on the field.
27:03If you take out the, the first two games, the argument you're making is like, okay, that was, that was the, the,
27:10the first time George played with CD in real games, you know, CD dominated those targets.
27:15It takes, takes some time. Then he got injured.
27:18George went off. Yeah. Once CD came back. So week seven on the 17 game target pace, when both those guys were
27:26on the field, taking out those first two games would have been 143 to 137 targets.
27:31So it was not that wide of a, of a gap.
27:35However, tough end of the season. Yes. Really tough end of the season for the last five weeks for Pickens and you,
27:42and you might, you know, the last week I think they sat down started.
27:47Yeah. So I just want to say that the final three weeks was tough just for the Cowboys.
27:53CD lamb was 8.1, 7.1, and then doesn't really play the game.
27:56Number eight. All right. AJ Brown comes in as our number eight wide receiver.
28:01That's where his ADP is right now. There have been moments this off season where I've wanted to be like super all in on AJ Brown.
28:10Like, like it should work. That's it. It should work.
28:13It almost makes too much sense. It almost makes, I mean.
28:17It's too quiet. I mean, he's, he's been a dominator last year.
28:21The much bemoaned offense. He still got it done.
28:24Still finished at number 10 with two games he missed.
28:27It should be a very good, at least one more year, I think for AJ Brown in new England.
28:33Now there's going to be acclimation to this offense to some degree, building that rapport with Drake may.
28:39Does that happen instantly? We know AJ Brown is a particular kind of guy when it comes to squeaky wheel, baby.
28:46Squeaky wheel. And it should be, you know, you're moving from one of the worst passing offenses in football statistically in terms
28:54of pass rate and total passing offensive statistics to one of the best in football.
28:58New England was unbelievable last year. You can say what you want about the schedule, but production is production.
29:05And Drake may went out there and like, I mean, they were, they were just really, really good.
29:11And they passed the ball a ton. The case with AJ Brown is, does he still have it?
29:17Like that's the entirety for me because there's some people last year that looked at the film and said he looks like
29:24he lost a step and he's going to turn 30 this year.
29:28So either he's not the same dude and he's lost a step.
29:32And so you will be maybe disappointed with where you're drafting him.
29:36And he's not, and he's not that guy. If that's your argument, fine.
29:40But if he's still good and keep in mind last year, he was the wide receiver 10 missing two games on a low volume offense.
29:49How can he not almost project to be a top five wide receiver?
29:53This is a, a dominator for fantasy for many, many years who is going from a low volume to a high volume
30:00to a team that just lost Stefan Diggs, who had a thousand yards and was basically their, their primary receiving option.
30:07The, the volume of opportunity for him should be 25% more than it was last year.
30:12I've got two things I want to discuss and get your thought on.
30:17Yeah. One is you may see between building the report, Drake may, and the schedule.
30:22I don't know if you can have a tougher first four weeks in the NFL.
30:27You go to Seattle. That's really tough. Then you play Pittsburgh at home.
30:31Okay. Then you go to Jacksonville. You go to Buffalo.
30:34You are underdogs in three of the first three weeks.
30:38You're on the road in three of the first three weeks.
30:41And you're trying to build a rapport with a quarterback against defenses that are going to be pretty good.
30:48It could be a slower start is all I'm saying.
30:51It concerns me. Week one concerns me that that first game out there and then playing against a world-class defense in the Seahawks.
30:59But the Jags are a good team and you might be the underdog.
31:03The Bills are a great team and you're probably the underdog.
31:06But those are also good offenses where you're going to have to pass.
31:11So I don't mind that personally. I think that those two games, the Jags and the Bills, those games will be like I want those environments.
31:19Those will be huge tests though for a team that had the schedule they had last year.
31:25I mean, Drake May, we saw him in the playoffs.
31:28He wasn't the same guy against these top tier teams.
31:32One other thing, what were you going to say?
31:35I was just going to say, I'm in on A.J.
31:38Brown. I don't think that he's lost a step.
31:41No, I don't either. And if he hasn't, this should be a pretty easy and obvious successful pick.
31:47There have been a handful of guys, seven in fact, since 2017 that are wide receivers that just changed teams.
31:54And how did they perform? So like Brandon Cooks was the wide receiver nine, became the wide receiver 12 when he switched teams.
32:01Also went to New England. Amari Cooper went from wide receiver 13 to 18.
32:06Beckham went from seven to 26. Antonio Brown never played again.
32:09I don't know why they're in the sample. What is it?
32:13Oh, he just, he got it. That was the year he peaced out, man.
32:18If I remember right. Tyree got better. Like it was going well for Antonio Brown.
32:23He was very good. And then just took his shirt off and left.
32:27It was a game. Is that what? Yeah. One game.
32:30Oh my gosh. We'll move on. Number seven. Justin Jefferson comes in at number seven.
32:35I've got him at six. Mike at six. Jason is at seven.
32:39Justin Jefferson is 27 now, guys. Yeah. Not forever.
32:42Yeah. It happens, but still very young. This is the number one all time through the first six years of the NFL and receptions and receiving yards.
32:51We know the player. We just want to know that he has a stable situation offensively.
32:57And we now know, like we didn't know how bad it can get.
33:01It can, it can get pretty bad. I mean, sub 10 points a game.
33:06We, we've had all time. This is a really, really good thing to look at.
33:10We've had all time players have down years. This has happened for Larry Fitzgerald before, but you know, AJ Green, Hopkins, Devontae
33:18Adams, they've all had years where they slipped outside that top 20, but you know, their hall of fame type talents.
33:25When AJ Green finished at 24, the next year he was the wide receiver seven.
33:30When Hopkins finished at 30, the next year he was the wide receiver one, same team.
33:35When Devontae Adams finished at 24, he was the wide receiver one the next year.
33:40The best players end up coming back to form.
33:43Everything about Jefferson and camp has been amazing. It's just the JJ Kyler mess.
33:48And maybe, and it's still a mess. Maybe that's affordability though, for a player that could be number one again.
33:54It's not really in the sense that most people are in on Justin Jefferson.
33:59I guess if you're, if you're taking them as, you know, the wide receiver, you know, six off the board and he
34:06finishes at one, then you did get a, a, a, you know, a discount, but I could slip into the second round
34:13for a lot of leagues for a guy that finished as wide receiver 22 last year, playing all every single game.
34:20I mean, it was atrociously bad. And now the, all is forgiven.
34:24No one is, no one is off of Justin Jefferson, but the quarterback competition right now, this year has not looked great.
34:32You know, the most recent reports, it goes back and forth.
34:35The most recent reports I've seen are that JJ has had more, Justin, not Justin Jefferson, but nine McCarthy has had more better practices than Kyler Murray.
34:44So it's, you know, it's, it's not, it's not impossible that Justin Jefferson comes out this next year and is the wide receiver 15.
34:52It, cause if he gets, if he scores five touchdowns, cause these quarterbacks can't throw touchdowns, that's the issue.
34:59He had 10 games with McCarthy last year, five with Carson Wentz, two with Max Brosmer.
35:04I do think that that's borderline impossible for him to do in this offense.
35:09I think it's going to be better. I mean, a second year, JJ McCarthy is better than a first year McCarthy and Kyler Murray could be the starter.
35:18And that would be a much, much better. I think, I think that's too low for me, but you think he could
35:25be a, that would be full on. That would be one of the biggest Boston fantasy again.
35:31That, that would be it. I mean, I get it.
35:34The quarterback situation should, should be better this year.
35:37I mean, I've got him as my wide receiver seven.
35:40I'm not projecting him to be there, but to say it's impossible.
35:44I mean, he literally just played every single game and was the wide receiver 22 because of quarterback play.
35:51But the quarterbacks are not guaranteed to have been solved.
35:54And I really do think it comes down. You probably wish they had Geno Smith.
35:59I, I, I wish it came down to touchdowns and you know, that that's whether or not around the red zone.
36:06So are you bypassing? So like ADP wise, what I'm seeing right now is after Jefferson is Drake London and AJ Brown.
36:13Yeah. I mean, every time that I've had that decision, I've gone AJ Brown over, over Justin Jefferson because how far does it go?
36:21Nico? I would not take Nico over him. George?
36:24George. So I'm looking at my rankings and I literally was like, I think I would rather have George.
36:30That's crazy. It feels crazy. In which case, you know, it just, to me, it just, um, like again, a down year
36:38versus a downward trend, I think are different things.
36:41So you're not confident in Kevin O'Connell to get it fixed.
36:44Cause if you, I mean, to me, it's a discount on Justin Jefferson.
36:49If you have any confidence in Kevin O'Connell as a head coach, you can't let that happen two years in a row.
36:56And there were, again, you had three quarterbacks to start.
36:59And that's why they went and got Kyler. Cause the hope was, okay, we can, if it doesn't work out for McCarthy,
37:07then we just, that we have this veteran who was at least not the worst.
37:12Kyler's not great. He's not, he won't be the worst.
37:15Strategically, isn't the smarter thing for them to do to start JJ.
37:19If, if the camp battles are actually as close as we are hearing, I'm just thinking of the transition.
37:25It's a lot easier to pull JJ for Kyler to me.
37:29I was like team wise. If it's close, you should be putting McCarthy out there as cause he could be, he's still young.
37:36He can still get better where it's like, Kyler Murray's not getting better.
37:41No. At football. He is. He's regressed a lot actually.
37:44Yeah. If anything, he's only getting worse from this, this point moving forward, but it's, it's a mess, man.
37:50Like they, the McCarthy has his supporters online. It seems like the media prefers Kyler.
37:55I could look dunking on JJ McCarthy's pretty easy.
37:58And based off of what he did last year with the memes and everything, it's pretty fun.
38:04So I, I don't, I'm, I think I'm more on Jason's side of just like Jefferson's ranked high because of, I'm respecting
38:11the player, what he can do, but the risks are, it's very high right now.
38:16You need to know what you're getting yourself into.
38:19Don't just, it's not blind. Everything is totally fixed.
38:22Things could be status quo from last year. Yeah.
38:25Right now he's going right next to CD lamb.
38:28Like they're there. Oh, give me CD lamb. Yeah.
38:31I would take CD lamb there and Ash and Jenty.
38:34Like those are the two players on, on each side.
38:38Or if you prefer Hampton or HN. It's more about costs is what you're saying, because the risk is still there.
38:45You don't see it removed. I am comforted by the fact that the, the comparisons that we have with other legendary wide
38:52receivers, you are going to have odd years, but to go from 30 to one, to go from 24 to seven, you know, Adam, same situation.
39:01It's comforting to me. I think the talent is too good and the target share is too large, but yeah, there, there's
39:08risk because we don't have, I think people wanted to see this guy won the job today.
39:14Like if I, if you, if you knew today that one of these guys that dominated him was named the starter, would you feel different about Jefferson?
39:23Yes. Yes, entirely. This is not a Justin Jefferson problem.
39:26Justin Jefferson is, I mean, he's probably the best wide receiver.
39:29Like I, if I was drafting, I mean, Chase is younger.
39:33So if I was drafting as a GM, but whatever, but as a prototypical wide receiver, I think Justin Jefferson's the best in football.
39:41That's not an anti Justin Jefferson take. And so if you give the best wide receiver, 160 targets, he should be okay, but it is just quarterback.
39:50Number six. I'm sorry. I thought you said, I, I, I got to really just, you got to throw your hand up
39:57or something when you're, uh, you're done. It's just a quarterback worry.
40:01Okay. Number six is a quarterback. I'm going to go move them down.
40:06I'm freaked out. Well, talk. It's a perfect next player to talk about Drake London.
40:11Drake London is our, I have Jefferson ahead of London as does Mike Jason.
40:15You have them flip-flopped. This is where it's like, I get a little bit confused about that storyline because, you know, you
40:23don't have a quarterback situation here in Atlanta that you should feel confident about.
40:27Some combination of Tua and Penix is not the most exciting situation in the world.
40:32And so are we giving it, does London have a pass because he's thrived in bad situations once versus, you know, Jefferson
40:39who doesn't get a pass because we saw him struggle in a tough situation once.
40:44I guess that's, that's kind of my question. Is it about target consolidation?
40:49Like why is London higher here? I, I, I think it is just target consolidation in the sense that you've got Jordan
40:56Addison and Hawkinson versus Kyle Pitts and Zachariah Branch or, or, or.
41:00I mean, it doesn't sound too different to me.
41:03Pitts is much better than Hawkinson in the target pecking order.
41:07Yeah. But Addison's would be way better than the, those two.
41:10Yeah. So, I mean, I, I get what you're saying.
41:14I think it's a very fair and that's why Jefferson's usually going above London in drafts.
41:19They both have a quarterback issue. Um, and you've got a better player in Justin Jefferson.
41:24I, I mean, I, I would, you know, have to take a strong look in the mirror, um, to actually select Drake London over Jefferson.
41:33This is where, when I'm, when I'm really in that spot, feel more confident in some of the running backs there as
41:40far as what they cost versus when it comes back around to the next round, the wide receivers that are there versus the running backs.
41:48We, we've, we've only ever had one according to the data that Kyle's pulled here, because it's very rare to have a
41:55top 10 wide receiver in fantasy with a quarterback outside the top 30, like a late round quarterback.
42:01The only one to do it. I mean, 2024 Devante Adams.
42:05It looks like Drake London with Michael Pinnix. Um, it's just difficult to pull off.
42:10Yes. We don't. And maybe two of plays every week and we're happy with the offense.
42:15That's, that's the question is we don't a hundred percent know what's going on with the quarterback situation.
42:21The tea leaves, at least for Atlanta seem to be stronger for me of it's going to be Tua at least to start the year.
42:30And I know Tua collapsed last year and this is not a, a saying Tua is a fantastic quarterback, but he's, you
42:37know, Kyler, I guess has given us some, some fantasy hopes in, in the past, but it's like Tua is more recent
42:44of it's been able to get it done. Kyler is a better fantasy option than Tua.
42:49So when we talk, you know, in the fantasy circles, it's like Kyler greater sign Tua, but in reality Tua has led
42:57the league, the NFL in passing yardage before. So, you know, Kyler is not a guy.
43:02How much is Tua and how much is Mike McDaniel is the question.
43:06Absolutely. I would say, you know, 70% McDaniel, uh, 30% Tua, but passing volume, uh, that's, that's never been Kyler's strength.
43:13Kyler is a good passer with legs that can get out of the pocket and be a dual threat guy.
43:20Tua's played, he played 14 games last year. He's on pace for 3,200 passing.
43:25Oh, it's the last year was a collapse. He threw 18 picks.
43:29So I, I, I find myself in a position where I trust the talent of Jefferson a little bit more than Drake London.
43:36I, and I don't think Drake London has ever brought up in any context to be a bust like Jefferson was last year.
43:44But to me, the quarterback situation says it's at least in the realm of possibility.
43:49No, I think it's very, very fair. Let's take a break and we'll talk the top five.
43:54All right. We're going to get into the top five.
43:58And by the way, like this is our top 10 wide receiver episode.
44:02So we are trying, like there's a built-in compliment when you announce each player already because they're ranked in our top 10.
44:09So we're trying to find pathways to differentiate between range of, find the range of outcome for these players so that you have perspective.
44:17Number five. CD Lamb. CD Lamb's coming off of a down year.
44:21We'll say once you get in the top five, things get a lot easier.
44:26Well, is it easier with Lamb? I mean, it is for me.
44:3011.7 fancy points per game last year. That was a huge deal.
44:34I mean, when he was number one overall, it was 19.7.
44:38Then it was 14.2. Now it's 11.7. Some people think maybe Mike is one of them that Pickens is the better actual wide receiver.
44:45The, the, the per game numbers are, are wonky.
44:48You had a, you had his injury game where he played 9% of the snaps scored zero points and then week 18
44:56where you didn't play the starters really and he scored 0.9 points.
45:00So the, the, the per game is not really that low.
45:03It's, that's just the, the easy to grab number.
45:06When you pull those out, I'm seeing around 13.
45:09Yeah. So, I mean, he also had, he dealt with drops, which was weird.
45:14And I don't think that we're going to say he's, I was frustrated, man.
45:19I had CD last year. It was like, oh my gosh, he left so many fantasy points on the field with those drops.
45:26I don't think that's going to happen all the time.
45:30And he also, you know, maybe it was, maybe it was George that was really siphoning the touchdowns away.
45:36I mean, I, I loved the George Dak match made in heaven.
45:40That's why he was a, my guy last year is because he was perfect for that team.
45:46But the touchdowns really seemed like they were going George's way.
45:49I very much believe that CD lamb is the alpha for this team, but I think both these guys are going to be wide receiver ones.
45:58And whoever is the better, which I definitely think is CD personally, will be dominant for fantasy.
46:03Mike, do you have thoughts on CD or do you want me to move on?
46:08No, I think he's very easy, a top five type of player.
46:12I, Jason was right about, you got to, you got to navigate his box score.
46:17Cause it was, you know, the, the last three weeks was an absolute disaster, but it's like in real, in real football
46:25games, his low was five for 66. Like, you know, he was over a hundred yards.
46:30What? Um, uh, seven times. I'm trying to count real fast.
46:34CD lamb was still a dominant player. It was just, it was one of those years where the injuries and drops and
46:41things just, it got in the way, but he's still an A in consistency.
46:46How old is he? He is 27. All these guys are 27.
46:49Nico's 27. Yeah. Jefferson's 27. CD's 27. All right.
46:52Disrespectfully coming in at number four. Of course. I mean, there's nothing better than a receiver that has been the wide receiver three, three, and three.
47:01I'm doing y'all a favor coming in at four.
47:04I mean, isn't that just the biggest slap in the face?
47:08It is. No, no. Amun Ra lives. Yeah. For doubt.
47:11He is fueled by hate and negative comments. So we're just, that's all we're, that's all we're doing.
47:17Here's a wild stat about Amun Ra. He has, he had 11 touchdowns last year.
47:22And what was he, was he dragged down inside the five, the most of anybody?
47:27Yeah. So like Ian Hart had sent this out, led the league in most receptions where he was tackled inside the five.
47:34He had eight times and he still scored 11 touchdowns.
47:38That's how good this offense was. So Amun Ra, is he the safest pick?
47:42Like, uh, I don't, I mean, safest, I would still say Jamar, but, uh, you've got it close.
47:48I mean, he's to Jamar's point and safety. I mean, Burrow has been hurt a lot.
47:53Yeah. Well, and Jamar, I mean, that's, that is one of the things that you have to love about Amun Ra.
48:00He, he was supposed to miss a game. Isaac was supposed to have his moment in the sun and Amun Ra was like, no.
48:08In his career, 17, 17 games played 16, 16, 17, 17.
48:12And he plays through injury. And the thing is, is he plays well through injury.
48:17Some guys hobble through injury and they hurt themselves and they should take time to rest.
48:22He is tough. He is used around the red zone so much.
48:26The thing is, is he years ago, it was like, well, I don't know that he's going to be a touchdown guy
48:34because you know, he's, he's a slot player. They move them everywhere.
48:38They have him as a first free target. This is one of those offenses that you want to target the most.
48:45And if you compare, like when I think of the tip top offenses, which I, you could put the Rams there for sure.
48:52They, they scored, you know, we, we will, they were there personally.
48:56I, I have the three of the bangles, the Cowboys and the, um, and the lions, but the wide receiver two option
49:03for those teams in T Higgins and CD lamb and Jamison Williams.
49:07I feel like the, the, the target share is so much more towards the one for Amon raw.
49:13They just, he is the possession receiver. Kind of like, um, a real version of Rashi rice.
49:19Like Rashi rice is like, like a real boy.
49:22Yeah. Rashi rice is just the Pinocchio. The system using him right and getting him the ball all the time.
49:29And it's kind of annoying because he's not good enough to deserve that.
49:33But then Amon raw is, and they still do it.
49:36I, yeah, it's just been a crazy run. He stays healthy.
49:40He plays 17, 15 and 15 plus points per game.
49:43That's just automatic. And their favorite in Fort member, their favorite in 14 of 17 games.
49:49I think the only games they're not favored in is a road game against Chicago.
49:54I think a road game against Buffalo. And those are going to be fun games anyways.
49:59I mean, they're just, they're set up for, I believe like the best, just one of the best schedules we've seen in a long time there.
50:07And target share the last three years, 30%, sorry, I'll go for 28%, 30%, 27%, 31%.
50:13This is, this is what we're saying of, he is extremely safe.
50:17He's unbelievable. And that is, yeah. He's been over a hundred, not targets, receptions in four straight years, over a thousand yards
50:24and all of them, but up by 1500 yards.
50:27Trip, double digit touchdowns in three years in a row.
50:30Like it feels, we are disrespectful. Yeah, I do.
50:33And I think it's a good discussion with this guy.
50:37Number three. So Jackson Smith and Jigba was unbelievable last year.
50:4017.7 fantasy points per game. Insane. Superbowl champ. 1,793 receiving yards.
50:44Led the league. 35% target share. That's insane. But we have talked at length, like everything went right for JSN last year.
50:51He was not the same level of total volume as the other top tier type of guys.
50:57He was just exceptionally, exceptionally efficient with his work.
51:00I guess the question being is, you know, everybody, I mean, CD had a 17 plus point year, right?
51:06And it was a special year. Um, Amon Ra had one, right?
51:10Two years ago. He somehow finished at third still because of course, but he was at 17.
51:16So you do have special years, double digit touchdowns for JSN, 1700 yards, 15 a catch.
51:21That was way higher than we'd seen before. Catch rate is 73%.
51:25I think it's a very fair discussion. The JSN versus Amon Ra question.
51:29I do too. And I wouldn't have any issue with taking Amon Ra over JSN.
51:34I think the, the hope is that because JSN is so young, he's 24 years old, he's still getting better.
51:41There's no one else really to throw the ball to, uh, for this team.
51:46However, this is a team that wants to play great defense and they can, they want to run the ball, spent a
51:53first round pick on a running back and, you know, so it's like, how does this team win?
51:59Does this team put up 30 points as often as the lions?
52:03No. And so, I mean, we're splitting hairs, but I, I think that we've seen enough years in a row of 110
52:10receptions for, you know, and double digit touchdowns from Amon Ra.
52:14JSN, we've got one and it was better, but, um, yeah, that it's, it's an interesting debate there.
52:20They're both, they're, they're the same as the lions.
52:23They're favored to win four or their favorite in 14 to 17 weeks.
52:27Look at the red zone for JSN target wise.
52:30He didn't dominate his, you know, compatriots on the offense.
52:33He had 15 targets in the red zone. Barner 13 Cooper cup 12.
52:38Now Rashid Shahid gets an off season to establish in this offense.
52:42You get back Torrey Horton. You didn't have him before.
52:45Um, I wouldn't, I wouldn't be just surprised to see JSN's target sure come down a little bit.
52:51But yeah, he arguing against JSN. Yeah. I mean, I don't want to draft him and be happy.
52:57That's, I think that's where, where I'm at, but there's just, there's two other guys.
53:02I would take in front of them. Yeah. That's a taking the over or the under on that one.
53:08I will go on. Yeah. You got to take the under there.
53:1256% of the wide receiver targets on that offense, but he's great.
53:16Draft him. He's awesome. Number two. Jamar Chase comes in at two.
53:20Really? But Jason and Mike both have him at one.
53:23So figure that out. This is a points versus ranking situation where you, so you have points.
53:29Yes. The, the point total of the three of us combined has Puka higher because you have Puka higher than Jamar in
53:36a greater gap than Mike and I do. Yeah.
53:39I do. And we can talk about both of them.
53:43I'll hit the button. Number one. We'll talk about Jamar and Puka in the same, in the same conversation.
53:49Cause both are awesome. I mean, statistically last year, both guys missed a game.
53:54Puka was at 19.4 fancy points a game and Chase was at 15.7.
53:58Chase's season before was at 20. Both of these guys are going to be pushing those numbers every single year.
54:05I just, I just, I just like Puka more because I think I like the volume more, but how, I mean, to
54:12me, Puka is going to be like, we were talking about breaking fantasy with Jamir Gibbs.
54:17It looks like Gibbs is just set up to have an incredible year.
54:21That is Puka for me. I just think that, um, I trust McVay to get him the ball a ton.
54:28I don't, I think Higgins is probably greater sign Adams right now in the career, but splitting hairs.
54:34You guys both have Jamar Chase ahead. I, I don't care.
54:38Yeah. I mean, I, I, I don't, we don't care either.
54:41Uh, both guys are awesome. We're not doing the debate show very, very good.
54:46Puka. You guys like him? Okay. That's cool. I don't care.
54:50I mean, I don't, I don't understand. If I was on the clock and I had to choose the reason I would
54:57choose chase over Puka is simply because of the offensive and defensive environments.
55:01I think that the ceiling case for the Bengals and Burrow when he is healthy is higher than the ceiling case for
55:09the Rams, especially assuming Aaron Donald is added to this team and, um, their defense is one of the best in the
55:16league and maybe they can win at the end of games where they don't need to throw the ball that much.
55:23But, and I mean, you could argue maybe Puka does something dumb legally.
55:27Yeah. If you want to lose the, lose the risk.
55:30I mean, these guys are literally capable of pushing 200 targets.
55:34I think this year they're capable of pushing 200 targets.
55:37You have the MVP of football at quarterback for the Rams and you have a quarter.
55:43They, they were a good defense last year. And so my counterpoint to that is McVay just doesn't let up on other opposing teams.
55:51They like burning people to the ground. No, I'm with that.
55:54I think I am in agreement of Jason's case of the, the more likely ceiling outcome and projection for me is, is
56:02Jamar, but you want to take, I would take, I would take, I would take both of them if you get the chance.
56:09Yeah. We're, I can't, I can't even argue this.
56:12No, I mean, they're both, they're both machines. I mean, all these guys are, I think if you end up with Puka,
56:19Jamar, Jason or Gibbs or sorry, or, uh, I'm on raw.
56:23I think that is, I think that's the actual tear break to me and no disrespect to CD lamb.
56:29That's awesome. But I think because CD lamb has been, I mean, he's been eight and 18 for whatever you missing games.
56:37I know, I know, I know, but those other guys have been at 15 plus fancy points in the last three years.
56:44And, and those guys, you know, the other guys haven't Jefferson London, those guys.
56:49So, um, it's fun. I mean, I think we all have a few names in the wide receiver category that I think
56:56are really sneaky, maybe outside the top 20. I know you and I were talking Carnell Tate this morning.
57:02That was the name I was going to bring up is, is if you want a guy that's going to surprise and
57:10come from much lower to be a top 10 wide receiver, you're talking about a rookie superstar and that's, you know, what they drafted him to be.
57:19We'll see on the field if Cam Ward can support that.
57:22It's been a good camp according to reports. Yeah.
57:25I mean the, the connection there, he's been the clear number one and I think he's mispriced Christian Watson.
57:31Hmm. Yeah. I think Watson, uh, Lad McConkie, a Buka and who else am I thinking about jumping up into that?
57:38A burden. I think those are special players that are outside the top 10 that could, could get up in there for sure.
57:46Let's, uh, you up for a little mailbag, Mike?
57:49Sure. Mailbag. If you have a question, go to the website, the fantasy footballers.com.

58:03Mack in Nashville has a good one here. My question is simple.
58:07How come there's not enough hype around Jadarian Price?
58:10First round draft pick, Super Bowl winners, day one starter, going low in redrafts.
58:15Why is there such a difference between ADP of love and price?
58:19It's a great question. Um, I think that the biggest reason is the worry of passing role.
58:24He had no production profile on college of, of work in the receiving game.
58:29If he doesn't have that in the NFL, it would be very difficult to be great for fantasy.
58:35But everything you laid out is great. You're a first round talent or at least a first round draft pick on a
58:42team that lost both of their starting running backs from last year with a good offensive line and good offense.
58:49He's on his way up ADP wise. So if you're drafting right now, enjoy your, uh, six round running back pick as
58:56once preseason games are going on, I week, uh, let's say preseason game week two, if Jadarian Price goes out and takes
59:04the first snap, he'll, he'll jump at least to the fifth, probably the back of the floor.
59:09I love the fact that, Oh, I mean, almost every highlight I see is receiving work every, I mean, his head coach
59:17came out and said he's like a wide receiver and that nobody can cover him.
59:22And the highlights are downfield catches for Jadarian Price.
59:25He is, um, he is someone that could get on the Abdullah express this preseason.
59:29If he has one highlight reel, one runaway touchdown run and he's going to skyrocket.
59:34If you like Jadarian Price, you, I would hope he does nothing in this preseason.
59:39If you're a believer, uh, yeah. Hope he, hope he stays low.
59:43Bella says a dynasty win now team. Would you rather have Rashi rice or Garrett Wilson and Tyson?
59:49Garrett Wilson and Tyson. Like, I mean, if you said Rashi rice or Garrett Wilson in a dynasty, if you said Rashi
59:57rice or Jordan Tyson in a dynasty, I would take.
60:00Let's win now. Yeah. No, I, I, I would like, I'd rather win now with Garrett Wilson.
60:06I'd rather win now with, cause it's, it's close enough in a dynasty to where it's not only, it's never only when
60:13now it's, it's, I'm, I'm trying to win now.
60:16You can still win now with those other guys.
60:19Man, if you could, if you could pull that, that seems wild to be able to bail out of, of rice for those two guys.
60:27All right. That is going to wrap it up for today's episode of the show.
