Alec Pierce

NegativeInjury3:39

Andy Holloway notes that Alec Pierce is not expected to practice this week due to an injury, making him an unreliable draft pick at this time; the source previously considered him a 'MyGuy' candidate but has since pivoted due to the uncertainty surrounding his availability for Week 1.

Insight page
NegativeInjury84:03

The source notes that he was a primary target for Mike throughout the offseason, but his status has been impacted recently by his inability to stay healthy.

Insight page

Breece Hall

NegativeInjury18:20

Breece Hall suffered a strained groin at practice while running a route without any defender contact. The source highlights this as a concerning non-contact injury.

Insight page

Bucky Irving

NegativeBreakout31:19

The source highlights Irving as a breakout candidate, noting his ADP (RB37) is lower than it was last year, which they find absurd given his efficiency. Despite a difficult season for Washington, Irving showed flashes of explosive ability, including a 6.6 yards-per-carry average over his first five games and strong performances late in the season. The team is looking for him to improve his all-around game to avoid being pigeonholed as a situational back.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

NegativeInjury18:55

Christian McCaffrey has missed a full week of practice due to 'tightness.' The source expresses skepticism, drawing a parallel to a previous injury two years ago that was initially downplayed as minor but turned out to be significant.

Insight page

D.J. Moore

PositiveInjury32:09

Despite initial concerns regarding a potential high ankle sprain, Joe Brady confirmed that DJ Moore is good to go.

Insight page

Drake Maye

PositiveProjection75:36

The source notes that Andy is very bullish on his potential to be a top quarterback in the league, believing his performance last year was legitimate.

Insight page

George Kittle

NegativeInjury25:21

George Kittle is confident he will not start the season on the PUP list, which would guarantee a four-game absence. While he is hopeful to play Week 1, the source suggests drafting him with the understanding that he may have a limited snap count or miss time, and recommends pairing him with a backup tight end.

Insight page

George Pickens

NegativeValue85:40

The source advises not to trade him, noting that he was a player Jason was locked in on for a long time while he remained on the board.

Insight page

Isaiah Likely

PositiveBreakout25:26

The source identifies Likely as a high-upside breakout candidate and a clear value in late rounds (10th-12th). Despite concerns about the Giants' offense, Likely has been the primary target during camp in Malik Nabers' absence. John Harbaugh has expressed confidence in his potential for a big year, and historical trends for tight ends suggest he could blossom in this new environment.

Insight page

Jameson Williams

NegativeValue84:56

The source mentions him as an example of a player Mike was locked in on very early in the offseason.

Insight page

Jayden Daniels

NegativeValue21:27

The source notes that controversy regarding Daniels' legal team and his LSU jersey number is unlikely to impact his fantasy ADP, though it may create some negative sentiment among fans.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

NegativeInjury1:32

Jeremiah Love suffered a high ankle sprain on his 14th carry in a preseason game. The source notes that while the team is hopeful for a Week 1 return, high ankle sprains typically require a three-week recovery period and often lead to diminished production upon return. Furthermore, the source warns that the team is unlikely to give him a heavy workload (e.g., 25 touches) immediately upon his return.

Insight page

Jordyn Tyson

NegativeInjury21:43

Jordan Tyson is dealing with a hamstring injury that the source describes as 'really bad,' noting that the team is in 'collection mode' regarding medical opinions. Surgery is a potential outcome. The source expects him to miss the beginning of the season and advises drafting him with the expectation that he will not be available early on.

Insight page

Josh Downs

NegativeInjury20:27

Josh Downs exited practice after a hard fall on his back. While he was able to walk it off, the severity is currently unknown. The source notes he fell on his own without significant weight on him.

Insight page

Mike Evans

NegativeValue84:52

The source recalls a previous season where he was a player Mike was locked in on very early in the offseason.

Insight page

Rhamondre Stevenson

PositiveRole73:41

The source identifies him as the clear number one running back for the Patriots, noting that the team relies on him for his pass-catching ability and his role as a 'Vrabel type' player who does the dirty work.

Insight page

Tucker Kraft

NegativeUsage30:12

Tucker Kraft stated the team will likely keep him on a snap count until the halfway point of the season. The source expresses concern about this limited usage, noting that while he can be productive, they are hesitant to wait half a season for him to reach full potential.

Insight page

Tyler Allgeier

PositiveDepth Chart17:13

With Jeremiah Love dealing with a high ankle sprain and James Conner not yet participating in 11-on-11 drills, there is a strong possibility that Tyler Allgeier will serve as the starting full-time running back for the Cardinals in Week 1.

Insight page

Tyquan Thornton

NegativeRole71:58

The source expresses skepticism about his potential as a three-down back, noting that off-season reports regarding his pass protection have been negative. The source views him as a compliment back rather than a primary option.

0:00Alright, it's almost that time of year. The time when I set the foundation for supreme and total dominance at my Fantasy Football draft.
0:08How can I be so confident? Because I used the Ultimate Draft Kit from the Fantasy Footballers.
0:13Man, it updates all off-season, so I never worry about using old busted information.
0:18Consistency charts, auction values, full projections. Oh baby, this thing's got it all.
0:22You want to keep it 100 for your draft?
0:25Head to ultimatedraftkit.com to get your copy today. To the Fantasy Footballers Podcast with your hosts, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright.
0:33Oh, welcome in. Monday, August 17th, the Fantasy Footballers Podcast.
0:36Jason Moore is here, I'm Andy Holloway, and guess what?
0:39What? He's back. The Mucus King returns. Mike, the Fantasy Hitman, returns to the studio.
0:44No bear. Extraordinaire. In my chair. No. We have the full crew back, and it is a huge week.
0:50Breakouts, busts, values, sleepers, 10 Tips and Tricks episode, mock draft mayhem, and too many injuries to talk about.
0:56Yeah. I'm so... Listen. This was a regular week, in-season amount of injuries to our guys.
1:01Every year, I've lived in Arizona my whole life, and every year, the summer surprises me.
1:07Fresh. Sure. And how much of an inferno it is, how hot it is, how horrible it is.
1:13Every year, I'm like, oh my gosh. Yeah. And the same thing happens with injuries in fantasy football, because we have an
1:20off-season of anticipation and excitement and joy. And the worst part is, we have done work to try to decide on how
1:27something's going to happen, and we never get to see for some players.
1:31It's unbelievable. We have a board that has my guys, or maybe our MVPs, or we've got breakouts today.
1:37And it's like, we've got all these players we're looking for and waiting, and then all of a sudden, behind the scenes,
1:44we're excited to talk to you about something. Oh, my groin!
1:48Oh, my offensive lineman! Oh, my toe! I don't have a knee anymore!
1:52This game is brutal. I don't know if you guys know this.
1:56Football is a rough and tumble physical game. It's a tough sport.
2:00But we must go on without knowing how some of these situations will turn out.
2:05And this is why, like, we've had a hard time.
2:08People have been asking us for our MyGuy picks, and we kind of have to thread the needle a little bit.
2:15But, like... On the timeline. On the timeline. Like, I'll say this now.
2:19Like, I really wanted to make Alec Pierce a MyGuy for most of the offseason.
2:24Yeah, you did. Can't really do that right now.
2:27I can't go, say, invest on the draft pick and start him.
2:31I don't know when he's going to play. Maybe it'll be week one.
2:35I don't know. But those are coming next week as well, the MyGuy picks.
2:40Your drafts will get started. Ours is on Labor Day, so hopefully you've pushed yours back as far as you can.
2:47Because this is why we say draft as close to kickoff as possible.
2:51I think that's important because maybe people don't realize that kickoff is a week later this year than it usually is.
2:58So instead of doing it... Like, if your league always does the second weekend in August, I guess you would be done.
3:05But, you know, whatever. If you time it that way, you should push it later.
3:10And we always say every year, like, push your draft as late as possible towards kickoff.
3:15I would recommend having it be after the third and final week of preseason because there's no fun in, like, you leave a draft.
3:23You're excited. And then before the first week, before the first fantasy point is scored, a guy you got in the second
3:30round is, like, done for the year in the week three of the preseason.
3:34That stinks. So push him late. Yeah, push him as far back as you can.
3:39The exception being if you can get people together for in-person drafting.
3:43Do that whenever you can. It's the best. But what else do we got going on?
3:48We got one week left in our UDK for Life giveaway.
3:52We're giving away the ultimate draft kit for the rest of your natural life, and we have added the bequeathing capabilities to this gift.
4:00If it's in writing. If you have an unnatural life, it's really up in the air.
4:05We won't really be able to apply anything. It's too gray.
4:08This is really just... Yeah, it's like... It's just us giving something.
4:12It's just us giving. Because I think right now everyone who's preparing for drafts, they're getting an ultimate draft kit anyways.
4:19It's like, we're just also including the fact that you might get it forever, for always.
4:24Yep. And maybe a signed Jamar Chase jersey as well.
4:28UltimateDraftKit.com. Winners will be selected during our live stream next Monday.
4:31It's for sure happening. Yeah, it's definitely happening. But maybe for each individual, right?
4:36Only... Maybe you will be the one to get it.
4:39Not every person is going to get it. That would be a bad business move.
4:44What it sounded like for a moment. If we gave everybody a free UDK forever.
4:49But if you've purchased it already, if you're an Ultimate Foot Clan member, you're automatically entered to win.
4:55The community is over at JoinTheFoot.com. You can follow us on Instagram.
4:59Instagram.com slash FantasyFootballers. We had another Just the Tips episode.
5:02Hit YouTube. YouTube.com slash TheFantasyFootballers this past weekend. Our quick question of the day is...
5:07It comes in. What part of doing a fantasy football podcast is something that most people don't know about?
5:13Maybe it's a part of the daily, weekly process.
5:16What is something most people don't know about? Let's see.
5:19I mean, there's definitely a few things. Because the one I would say is what has really changed is the ebbs and flows of the calendar.
5:28Like, when we weren't in it, fantasy football was still life.
5:31You know, I was all in. When you weren't in the podcast.
5:35When I was not. Yeah, when we weren't doing the podcast.
5:39But, like, when you hit June, it was like you could really feel it inside of like, oh, baby.
5:45Football's coming back. Football really never leaves for us.
5:48Oh, so you missed the... So I find that that...
5:51I don't get the same... It's Christmas forever for you type of thing?
5:55Yeah, I don't get... Exactly. Yeah. I don't get the same juice ramp up inside of the natural time.
6:01I still... You're always juiced. I love football. Like, I...
6:05With the preseason on, it was, you know, it was...
6:08Oh, thank goodness. Thank goodness this thing is back.
6:11Because it has been too long. I love football every day.
6:14But it's just that... That's... The natural ebbs and flows of timing that you...
6:19You know, your circadian rhythm of sports. We don't really have that.
6:23Yeah, like a decade ago, the idea of hard knocks coming out.
6:27It's like, oh! Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh! Yes.
6:30I gotta throw that on now. It's like... I would consume everything.
6:34I would love... I love watching clips. I don't know if I'm gonna sit down.
6:38Because I know I'm going to be sitting down watching film all the time.
6:43But I think the thing people might not know about doing a fantasy football podcast is like...
6:49We do the show for about an hour a day.
6:52Mm-hmm. How much goes into it prior to that?
6:55The amount of research and reading and Google Sheets and work behind the scenes.
6:59We try to come on here and sound as relatively dumb as we can.
7:04But, you know, we are putting in those... You'd be shocked how much we prepare to sound this dumb.
7:10Yeah! Yeah! I always think it's funny. Like, we do so many shows over the course of the year.
7:16And how many times we're, like, doing the dance of, like, timing recordings so we don't miss news.
7:22Mm-hmm. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, we're trying to thread the needle of, like, record where...
7:27Like, we've done pretty well, I feel like, except for your, like, Cortland Sutton thing in the middle of the show.
7:34Oh, that was the best timing ever. That was perfect.
7:37The show moment of the year. But just, like, when we record and we, like, know stuff is going to happen, we
7:44try to dance the recording times around the news, which is kind of fun.
7:49But, yeah. Speaking of, like, Christmas year-round analogy, Mike, did you see that they're opening a coffee shop down the street?
7:56Oh, yeah. That is... From us? Yes. It's a Christmas...
7:59From where we live. It's a Christmas... It's called Christmas Cafe.
8:02It's called Christmas Cafe. It's Christmas-themed and Christmas music and Christmas...
8:06365. 365. What do you think of that? Is that going to ruin the magic or is that amazing?
8:12My initial thought is very optimistic. It is. I can't wait.
8:16If you're telling me at any point in the year, I could just take off...
8:21Shout out to Christmas Cafe. I could just... That AC better be...
8:24Oh, it's got to be frigid. It's got to be frigid in there.
8:29Oh, that's a good point. If it's not, like, kind of snowing in there, like, a little bit...
8:35If I can't wear snuggly hoodie... That's not Christmas.
8:37And pants. That's not Christmas. That's not going to work.
8:41I can walk there from my house. I can't wait.
8:44It's that close to you? Yeah. I'm very hopeful.
8:47I think they're optimistic. I'm optimistic. You're pro Christmas Cafe.
8:50I think that might be too much, but I'm excited.
8:53One way to find out. You're willing to find out.
8:57We'll see if they're opening year and a half from now.
9:00People will decide. Yeah. Let's jump into the news.
9:03News and notes from around the league. This is a...
9:06Oh, man. The people hate the news today. This time of year is just all...
9:11I was going to say, this is a breakout show, but the news is going to feel like a breakdown show.
9:18We are the message or nothing. We didn't make it happen.
9:22The first piece of news... Mike, you weren't in here, but we came on and got to talk about the preseason game,
9:29Cardinals-Raiders and Jeremiah Love and how good he looked.
9:32I mean, it was ridiculous how obvious... I hope you enjoyed it.
9:36It was... How obvious it was that Jeremiah Love will be a dominator at the NFL.
9:41It was almost like they could have known that before they drafted him number three overall in the NFL draft.
9:47Well, he ended up... Had to be sure, though.
9:50...receiving 14 carries for some reason. And the 14th carry resulted in a hip drop, ankle sprain.
9:56Looks like a high ankle sprain. They just weren't sure.
9:59You know, that 13th carry. We got to get...
10:02Let's see what happens next. They're still hopeful that he will be ready for week one against the Chargers.
10:08That terminology means it's high ankle. You usually miss three weeks.
10:12Come back. And then you lose production. Oftentimes you lose production.
10:15Peak production. For a couple of weeks. Obviously, if they are bringing him back off of an injury and his first time
10:23back is week one, they are not going to take this young, future centerpiece of their team and say, here's 25 touches
10:30in your first week back from injury. It sucks so much.
10:33I mean, and Connor isn't even back to 11 on 11, which means there's a really good chance Tyler Algier is like
10:40the starting full-time running back for the Cardinals in week one.
10:44Oh, by the way, their other top four picks are also hurt.
10:48Yeah. They lost their guard for the year, their second round pick.
10:52Carson Beck is hurt. They lost their DT. In the fourth round, yeah.
10:56So there's no – they don't have a draft this year.
11:00That's cool, man. Brees Hall suffered a strained groin at practice.
11:03Goodness gracious. This one is – I mean, I don't know on the groins how often it's due to physical contact or
11:10not, but this was just on his own. He's running a route, catches a ball, no defender, and pulls it and goes down.
11:18Butterfly stretch. Thank you, Mike, is what I've been trying to tell everyone, and no one is listening.
11:24You are the leader of the charge. Butterflystretch.com. Jason Moore's – Jason Moore's physical therapist.
11:29There should not be groin injuries, guys. Butterfly stretch.
11:32How are there so many groin injuries? Makes no sense.
11:35Just flap them. All right. Let's hypothesize here. Christian McCaffrey has now missed one full week of practice.
11:41Originally, it was revealed it was due to, quote, tightness.
11:44Perhaps the tightness of the wallets of the 49ers?
11:47Genuine question because, Mike, you have a much better memory than anybody alive.
11:51Okay. This was going on – it was either last year or the prior year.
11:56It was one of the last two years where he's going to be fine.
12:00That was the two years ago. That was two years ago.
12:04Yeah. Okay, and it kept seeming like totally going to be fine, nothing to see here.
12:09And so then two years ago, there was something to see there, and it was very, very bad.
12:15I'm – okay. It did time up. Nothing to see here.
12:19It timed up with Bichon and Gibbs getting money.
12:22Yeah, there's some – the bushes are whispering. I think the bushes are just hopeful, man.
12:27Yeah, I do too. Josh Downs exited with another injury.
12:30Hard fall on his back. Tried to walk it off, was in pain, and had to leave for a few snaps.
12:37Don't know the severity. Alec Pierce not expected to practice this week.
12:41Go draft Ashton Doolin. Yeah, there's like no whiteouts right now in Indianapolis.
12:45The good news is if – you know, unlike when Mike Williams would have those terrible tumbles to the ground and injure
12:52himself, which is what Josh Downs did, not a lot of weight on him, fell on him by himself.
12:58That's true. Light as a feather. I'm going to hit the button for this one, but Saints head coach Kellen Moore said
13:06the team is, quote, still in collection mode. Regarding Jordan Tyson's hamstring.
13:09Leave the red light on me. I mean, this is – this sucks.
13:14This sucks. It's really not good. The range of outcomes here on this injury, for those that don't know, Jordan Tyson, top 10 draft pick from ASU.
13:22Multiple hamstring injuries while at ASU. Had a hamstring injury in the draft process.
13:27Was just getting some of the best publicity possible with some of these, you know, routes he was running in practice.
13:34He looked amazing. I mean, and this is why he was the number one scouted wide receiver for us.
13:40We watched how twitchy he was at ASU. It was amazing.
13:44But this hamstring is now genuinely threatening potentially his entire season.
13:47I want people to understand. Surgery is a potential outcome of the hamstring injury to Jordan Tyson.
13:53It doesn't mean it is the outcome, but when you have to say you're still in collection mode, you don't get to, oh, we hope he's back soon.
14:02Remember, pay attention to bad news, not good news.
14:05You're seeking doctor's opinions because you don't – You don't like the first few opinions.
14:10You do not usually. I'm just putting this out there.
14:13When you see, oh, guy has a hamstring problem, they don't usually go seek like, oh, no, what do I do?
14:20It's a hamstring issue. It's like rest it for a couple weeks.
14:24You get a great price on a car. You don't go to five other dealerships.
14:28No, this is really bad. And so as of this moment, I am expecting him to miss the beginning of the season.
14:36That's not based on like – No, I think for sure he will.
14:40But it's not based on absolute knowledge. That's what I'm saying is just my draft strategy.
14:45I am approaching it like I'm not going to have him at the beginning of the season if I'm going to make that selection.
14:53Do these guys ever – this is a – you know, it's kind of funny, but it's a genuine question.
14:59When they have an injury like this and they go to the first doc and the doc's like, oh.
15:06Surgery. No, no, no. I'm saying like everything – you'll be okay.
15:09It's a strain. We're just a couple weeks. Are they still like we need to make sure?
15:15No. No. No. No. If they get good news on the first one, they don't go to a follow-up doctor.
15:21Human nature. Yeah. George Kittle, very confident he won't start the season on the pup list, has a chance to play week one.
15:29What he means by that is he knows he's not going to miss the first four games, in which case he will not be starting on the pup.
15:38That's kind of how it was laid out. He's hopeful he's there for week one, but he is very confident they won't
15:45place him on the guaranteed to miss a month worth of games.
15:49So that to me says if you're drafting George Kittle, which I don't blame you.
15:54Oh, it's easy. Grab another tight end. Are you going to say, Tondias?
15:58Yes, I am. See, we had this question. Yeah, we had this discussion.
16:02I 100%. I would draft, if I'm taking Kittle, if I'm accepting the risk, and they talked about, because they're the Australia
16:10game, they'll know he won't make the trip, essentially.
16:13So you'll have fun. Can I make a counterargument for that?
16:16Sure. The counterargument isn't that Tondias can't perform well, Kittle, like in a very binary Kittle out, Tondias in.
16:22I think that works out. The problem that I have with that strategy is that there could be a middle period of
16:29time where it's limited snaps for Kittle, therefore limited snaps for Tondias.
16:33And because of the players that I like at the back of the draft, and Isaiah Likely is an option, right, I'd
16:41rather have somebody that I might have two good players.
16:44Right. If you get Dalton Kincaid late, Isaiah Likely late, Dallas Goddard late, all of a sudden, come week four, Kittle's back
16:51and rocking, and you still have someone with value.
16:54I don't mind that at all. I'm saying, like, you have a...
16:58Jawan Johnson? I know I can tempt you with Jawan Johnson.
17:01Yeah. Of course, you're taking him over Tondias, aren't you?
17:05With Jordan Tyson's hamstring? The... Yeah, probably. You're gonna want it, don't you?
17:09Yeah, I would. I do love Jawan Johnson. But my point is, like, if you know Kittle is out, like, Tondias is a free square in your draft.
17:18Like, some other people might take Isaiah Likely in round 10 or something like that.
17:23If you want to punt all the way to the end, Tondias will be waiting for you.
17:28And if Kittle is out, this team with... Dot, dot, dot?
17:32Exactly. It's like, okay, well, if everything works out, it's great.
17:35It's brand new Mike Evans. It's brand new second round rookie stripling.
17:39And Tondias produces when George Kittle is out. He's already familiar.
17:43I think Tondias would be a very strong starter.
17:46That's fine. And I would say draft strategy-wise, if you have an IR spot, you don't need to use your draft.
17:53Just draft Kittle. No one is going to go and draft Tondias that didn't draft Kittle.
17:58In which case, it would be very vindictive if somebody did it.
18:02Yeah, but I would just wait until the draft is over, throw Kittle on your IR when that happens before week one.
18:09Oh, to save a spot complaint. Yeah, there you go.
18:12There's a Tondias plan I like. Tucker Craft said the team will probably keep him on a snap count until halfway through the season.
18:20He was out there practicing for the first time.
18:23Then there was like a quote about the Wolves.
18:26Yeah, slap him on the butt, send him to the Wolves.
18:29Yeah, yeah. After the snap count. Yeah, I don't like that.
18:33It's going to be like the gray. I've been out...
18:36Craft can do it with limited snaps. He can.
18:39He absolutely can. He was dominant last year. I have personally been out in the sixth round on a player that I
18:46think gets off to a slow start. The fact that he is literally saying, I'll probably be limited the first half of the year.
18:54Not that he can't just take one pass. You know, he doesn't have to be out there for every step.
19:01But I will counter that by saying, like, look at Dalton Kincaid last year.
19:05The best yards per route run of all tight ends in the league.
19:09He just didn't play enough snaps to be very, very valuable.
19:13And I don't know if I'm willing to wait half a year for Craft to, you know, to be that.
19:20That's me personally. Kyle Monunga left practice early with an apparent right knee injury.
19:24Believed to be fine after testing. But it's not been a good offseason for Monunga's health.
19:29DJ Moore, it looked like a high ankle sprain was heading his way.
19:34But according to Joe Brady, he's good to go.
19:36So that's nice to hear. And then this one, I am...
19:40Did you get the... You saw the DJ Moore play?
19:43The wide... Oh, yes. The completely wide... Yes. And people were, oh, man.
19:48You're talking about the one where he catches the ball wide open and he calls the defender to him?
19:54Yeah. I'm just saying, like, he's wide open, so he gets a button.
19:58People are like, yeah, I told you. DJ Moore.
20:01And it's like... You might be right about DJ Moore, but this is not the play that proves your thesis.
20:07All right, guys. I don't know. You tell me whether you want the button on this one.
20:13But Emeka Abuka underwent more testing and a specialist confirmed it was a toe sprain.
20:18He's stable. What I don't like is that they asked head coach Todd Bowles about his availability for week one, and he
20:25could not confirm right now that Emeka Abuka will be back there for week one, although they are optimistic.
20:31Turf toe can linger. Turf toe can really impact players.
20:34It's always... It's silly and stupid because it sounds...
20:37But the toe sprain, Jason. Yeah. They're not saying...
20:40No, I know. I know. It's not turf toe yet.
20:43Right. But if it comes out soon... If it comes on grass, I don't think you can get turf toe.
20:50Well, it's turf toe. It has to be the big toe, right?
20:54Yeah. Yeah. So we don't know which of the little piggies it is.
20:58Not yet. Didn't we say we're going to remove the ring toe?
21:02We said we could. I don't think we have to.
21:05In honor of Jaden Daniels, though? Oh. Nice. Nice.
21:08Oh, no. You got to get the pinky for that one.
21:12I mean, you just need to get down from five.
21:15Either way, you're going down to four. You got to get down from five.
21:20You got to respect five. Najee Harris is... I own the number five.
21:24Oh, man. He's getting some. He's got ragrats, brother, man.
21:27I don't remember the timing of this. Was this on the show yet?
21:31No. No. Not on the show. This weekend, it came out that Jaden Daniels' legal team told LSU that they can't...
21:38Is that his mom? Sounds like it. It's his biggest fan, for sure.
21:42They told LSU that they can't use his name and image likeness, that type of stuff, because they let another quarterback wear number five.
21:50How to get everyone to turn on you immediately over stupid bull crap.
21:54Yeah, I think there's some regrets here. What are you doing, man?
21:58I want to see. I genuinely want to see.
22:01What are you doing? With all the bad pub, this would be the silliest thing.
22:06Does his ADP move? No. Does it move down just like a couple of spots?
22:11No, I don't think it'll go there. Because we were like, I don't want to draft him.
22:16It won't go there, but you definitely have people who don't like him.
22:21What are these teams supposed to do? I blame Shadur.
22:24Yes. You can't. Do you know how numbers work?
22:27There's only so many numbers, right? A jersey fits all the double-digit numbers.
22:31Just because you threw a touchdown pass, I know he won a Heisman.
22:35I know. But he wasn't even their best Heisman.
22:38I think Burroughs is out, but he won a national title.
22:42He went undefeated. His numbers were better. This is for LSU.
22:45Well, and they had already promised this recruit, which you should want your team to do well.
22:51They promised to recruit this number, and the recruit didn't want to give it up.
22:56I'm not saying that you don't retire anybody's number ever.
22:59It's just a slippery slope of like how everybody's going to feel like they had a good career.
23:05And if you're Jaden Daniels, how are you not calling them up?
23:09Be like, dude, make the number five proud. This is Michael Irving.
23:13Michael Irving was like 88. Are you saying Irving?
23:16No. Michael Irving. Have you not heard Michael Irving?
23:19Irving. Michael Irving. Irving. Don't. Oh, he's got me, Bucky Irving.
23:22Yeah, you just did it. Irving. All right. You poisoned me.
23:26You're going to get everyone to turn the show off.
23:29It was with an I, but it was also with a G.
23:33Yeah. Get the G. It's not Julius. It wasn't Julius.
23:36It's not Julius. No, I wasn't doing a Magic Johnson thing.
23:40This was I with a G. My bad. Yeah.
23:43However. It is I with an N. I know.
23:46Okay. That's what I'm saying. Gotcha. I'm just, I wasn't all the way to E and G.
23:51Anyways, he comes out and he's like, he was 88.
23:54His number should be retired. He's the best instead he creates this.
23:58Oh, it's the, it's so smart. Incredible legacy for 88 with the Cowboys and then Des Bryant and then CeeDee Lamb.
24:05This is like, welcome to the club of greats.
24:08Well, and he talks about, he's like, you know what they do?
24:12They talk about it. When, when Des Bryant has a great, like, oh, shades of the great Michael Irving.
24:18Stop it. No, I will walk off of the set.
24:21Dude, honor. Did you hear his Charlie Kolar crap he was doing?
24:25It's Kolar. Kolar and Irving. This is, is this how you felt when we were doing the, what was the stupid nickname?
24:32Darnell Anderson? Yeah. Now I'm with you. Yeah. Years later, I'm with you.
24:37That's a slippery slope. That was the best nickname ever.
24:40My goodness. There you go. Najee Harris visiting with the Giants.
24:44I don't think we need to talk much about it until he signs there.
24:48Do you think that's just because Tyrone Tracy whiffed so hard on the block?
24:53I would tell Tracy to not come back to work.
24:56Right into the blue tent. All right. We'll take a break.
24:59We'll, we'll get into breakouts. Let's do it. Breakouts.
25:02Joe Montana. Montana. All right. We have all of our consensus breakout picks inside of the ultimate draft kit.
25:09This is a great show opportunity for us to talk about individual breakout picks that we are convicted about, that we have
25:16faith in, that we believe could help your team at a discount in fantasy drafts.
25:21Since we just talked about them multiple times, might as well, I guess I'll start it off.
25:26My breakout pick is Isaiah Likely. Okay. Isaiah Likely.
25:29I can see why you wouldn't draft Jake Tonjes.
25:32Yeah, there you go. I mean, you're going to get a 10th, 11th, 12th round value on Isaiah Likely.
25:38Um, he's one of the highest paid tight ends per year on average.
25:42And I think we're, I think we're suffering from, uh, unmet, unfulfilled promises with Isaiah Likely in days gone by.
25:49The truth of the matter is, is he's one of the most gifted athletic tight ends.
25:54They went out and spent the money to bring him into New York.
25:58And while I have my concerns about this offense and Matt Nagy and the, you know, the offense clicking and dart behind
26:05center, I think Likely is one of the most obvious, clear, like discounts and values in fantasy football.
26:11We've seen great moments from him. We've seen him, uh, dominate in zone threat and every single bit of news about this
26:18team and what they're saying is he's going, he's been the number one target without neighbors on the field.
26:25And I think the capability is, is there. I think Likely is the most obvious late round pick.
26:31That's going to, I believe be an every week, easy start.
26:34You know, when John Harbaugh was talking about his confidence on Isaiah Likely, they asked him specifically about high volume in this offense.
26:42And he said, look, the numbers that you're talking about, the stats that you're talking about, that wasn't part of the thing
26:49in Baltimore because of the supporting cast. He said, it's going to be a big year.
26:54And I know he said positive things about Likely before, but the truth of the matter was he had to share a
27:01lot of opportunities with Mark Andrews and the rest of this offense to me likely is going to be a breakout, uh,
27:08sans injury in, in year one in New York.
27:11Um, it's been the theme of spring and summer.
27:14I'm excited about it. And we, and we've seen a lot of tight ends be the late bloomer type of situations where,
27:21you know, you had guys like Greg Olson, not really blossom until he switched teams, uh, going to Carolina.
27:27You saw Darren Waller, his first fantasy season was at 27 years old, Kelsey at 27 years old.
27:33You didn't get in a joke who delivering big performances until his seventh season.
27:38So right place, right time to me. It's a home run.
27:41I, I was, the reason he's on this show is because he just narrowly missed being a, my guy for me.
27:48So that's the level of conviction I have around Isaiah likely the, the, the drum beat for him.
27:54I think it's, it's been there. It hasn't been loud in your face.
27:58Like, uh, some of the other players that, that are just really getting, Jake Ferguson's going ahead of him, Mike.
28:05No, I have the ADP is, is fine. I'm saying I'm, I'm, I like it.
28:10I think of a, of a late round tight end that could really make a jump, a team that, you know, unless
28:17Malik neighbors is ready to go a hundred percent week one, you don't know who the top target earner on the team
28:24is going to be could easily be Isaiah likely.
28:27And that black and say that underneath, there really has been buzz about him.
28:32It's just not loud, you know, including the, we, we, Jason and I interviewed dart Isaiah likely was kind of the only
28:39player he talked about when we asked him out of targets.
28:42And then there's been little blurbs here and there that I'm surprised haven't elevated his ADP.
28:47So he's sitting at a point where I think he is a very low risk high upside guy.
28:53I don't know if I'm convinced it will happen, but in this, in the market, in range of, of outcomes, there is
29:00definitely one where Isaiah likely ends up as a, the, the guy who jumps into the top five.
29:06What about the fact that Matt Nagy, while we hate him most places, he does involve tight ends more than we usually like.
29:14Sure. He loves getting Johnnie Smith the ball. You know?
29:17I mean, I, I just think that it's, it's going to be a pretty, like Mike, Mike put it best.
29:24This is a chance for high upside late in your draft where it, you know, it's not that, um, you know, we love Colston Loveland.
29:32I love Ty Warren. The craft thing is tough.
29:35I love him, but, but if he's limited snaps, that's tough.
29:38But like, there's a world where like the gap between Isaiah likely's performance and some of those guys may not be as
29:45big as you think, but you do have to sacrifice a lot to pull the trigger on Loveland early.
29:52So, so it's just something to think about, but there's, I mean, there's other late round tight end names we've brought up
29:59multiple times, like Goddard is another one that I think will be involved.
30:03But I think likely is a really interesting play in this new offense, despite the, and I think that there's going to
30:10be some growing pains for dart in this offense, but likely is going to be, um, you know, we saw it, we
30:17saw it last year with Theo Johnson that he built a rapport with this tight end right away.
30:23And it's interesting because Hayden Weeks pointed out, like when he played all the plays that likely came in on were passing downs.
30:31He never put his hand in the dirt once Theo Johnson was in there blocking for the blocking down.
30:37So I think he'll be a targeted receiver in this offense.
30:40And you do it. It's just like a little bonus for him of like, if dart continues to get exploded on the
30:47field, waiting in the wings, guys, Jameis Winston. Oh, I mean, the odds of seeing Jameis this year feel very high.
30:54And if Jameis comes in, I will not have any concerns for, for any of my pass catchers.
31:00Yeah, we want, we want them routes for the tight ends.
31:04I think you'll see a ton of them from likely.
31:07So that's my breakout pick. Jason, Mike, who wants to go next?
31:11I'll jump in here. Uh, it is a player that I think the three of like, Oh, this guy took the nation by storm last year.
31:19And I think as a show, all three of us, we were pretty hesitant because it's the seventh round rookie running back.
31:27Everyone's so excited. Bill Krosky became like the bit of the show.
31:30It was a good time. Um, this one's so interesting to me, Mike, because we are post hype season of last year.
31:38Yes. And you keep coming. I feel like the way it's gone is this off season.
31:43You haven't been like trying to chase JCM. You just keep coming back to a place where you bring his name up.
31:50I spent most of the off season of like, Hey, they added Rashad white.
31:54Could he end up being the guy? And you know, just the way I'm reading the situation right now, it sounds like
32:02the team really just, they want it to be Bill Krosky merit.
32:06And the ADP is shocking to me on sleeper.
32:08Bill Krosky is going as the running back 37, which is in fact lower than he was last year around this time.
32:16Like that, that is absurd. The people are so mad at Bill.
32:20He was, which what Eckler was around last year.
32:22And Eckler, Eckler was a huge part of why I wasn't sure that Bill could take over as the seventh runner, but
32:30then of course Eckler goes down to the Achilles in week two.
32:34But Bill for, for what he was able to put on the field, he was very efficient.
32:39You know, over the first five games, uh, you were seeing an average of 6.6 yards per carry.
32:45And then honestly, the whole team falls apart. You know, you have Jane Daniels injuries.
32:50Things are just, the other guys are getting injured all over the place.
32:54Like Terry missing time. It just really didn't work out for Washington and Bill struggled mightily, but towards the end of the
33:01season, you know, the final three games, we had an, uh, we had an 18 for 96 with a touchdown.
33:08It's against the giants. That's not great. Uh, as in like people are beating up on the giants, but he's taking what's there.
33:15The week 17 against Dallas 11 for one Oh five.
33:18He had, he has the juice on a high note.
33:22And, and we knew he had the juice. Like his, his highlights are like, this is, he's one of the few running
33:29backs that at any point could rip off the 40 yard touchdown.
33:33He has that ability. He's going lower than last year.
33:36It's, it's, it's insane. And Washington, Washington should be a, at least middle, you know, to an upper echelon offense.
33:42I still believe in Jane Daniels, despite his thinking he owns the number five and this is, this is an ambiguous situation.
33:50You know what he doesn't own? Oh, you are.
33:53Yeah. Yeah. We're watching you think you're going to get 55, but it's like Chicago, Jacksonville, Minnesota, and Washington.
33:59These are the, the, the more potent potential offenses that is their, their running backs are going outside of the top 24.
34:06These are the players that can change the balance.
34:09Yeah. We want, I want to hit my fourth rounder and all this stuff.
34:13I want to find the late round running back that can come in here and really stabilize my team.
34:20If not, take it to the next level. They've, they've been expressing.
34:23We need him to get better with the ball out of his hands and talk of like, we don't want to have pigeonholed running backs.
34:32We don't want to, when Bill's out there, the defense, oh, they're going to run it.
34:37And when white is out there up, they're going to throw.
34:40They, this is something that Washington does not want to happen, which sounds like if bill takes the job, that's potentially a three down running back.
34:49And like, so that's, that's very, very exciting for going as the running back 37 crowd is gone.
34:55So he doesn't have, you know, at that type of, uh, of competition at the goal line.
35:00It seems like he should get that no matter what.
35:03So I'm very interested in his ADP and I'm very interested in what bill could turn the point is really interesting because
35:11he was very effective down there and got a lot of opportunities to be fair.
35:15To be fair, that is what I didn't need to be repeated.
35:19I didn't realize you don't need to beat that.
35:22I didn't realize how bad what he said was.
35:25I just knew he misspoke and I had to call him out on it.
35:30And then I realized that's very bad. Leave this in, but you got to be very, very bad.
35:36I take 20% vowels are very important. I take 20% vowels.
35:39You're telling me I said it like that? Yeah, you did.
35:43You did. You did. You guys are nodding like, like you're right.
35:47We all heard it. You're nodding like you're telling the truth.
35:50Mm-hmm. That's why. I don't believe you. Yeah. No, I, I, that's, that's it.
35:55There's no way to know. There's no way. We'll never be able to tell if you had actually said it that way first or not.
36:03All I know is that whatever way Jason said it was worse.
36:07Yes. I will agree with that because I hit it a little harder.
36:11I mean, you, you, you tripped into your own trap.
36:14I tripped into your trap. Yeah. Well, um, is this show still on the air?
36:19Do we have to mark this episode differently? We, we, we have the technology to push through.
36:25Oh my goodness. Uh, back to 12 years of shows is the last.
36:29I'm sorry, everybody. Back to bill. I just have a question.
36:33Okay. If this is the only, I know you didn't bring this up and this was basically, you've made all the arguments
36:40for why, uh, bill's a good breakout pick. He can do it.
36:44This office is blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Yeah.
36:47I actually think the only reason that you like him is because your argument for why Bucky Irving was a breakout was
36:54just simply because you were betting against Rashad White.
36:57You're like, he's not good. If it really was the crux of the entire argument, is that what's happening here?
37:03It's just like, you just have to compete with Rashad White.
37:07Who's not that good. It, I mean, look, if you want three and a half yards, Rashad White's your dude.
37:13If you want four and a half yards, he's not.
37:16I'm not even listening to the show anymore. What?
37:19What? Um, oh man. All right, Jason, it's time to talk about your breakout.
37:24Uh, this is one that I think, I think you might stand alone in this, in this studio on because I want it known that I do.
37:33I want it known that I do stand alone on this and I'm looking at you, Mike, I stand alone.
37:39You are to the lowest. You have him at running back 26.
37:43I'm very out. Yeah. You're, you're out. Shooketh. So, um, what an honest guy.
37:48I am going, this is calling balls and strikes guys.
37:51I'm going against the grain. It feels contrarian, which is a little weird, but my breakout wise.
37:56Well, a little bit, a little bit in both directions.
38:00I'll explain. My breakout is Travion Henderson, uh, an absolute dynamo of a running back.
38:05Yeah. An explosive, you know, anytime he touches the ball, he can house it.
38:09He can get a touchdown. He had a very weird rookie year, right?
38:13The first two months of the season, he was not used.
38:17He was basically like, he didn't get the, he didn't get nine touches a game.
38:22He was kind of a gadgety guy, the rookie being brought along slowly, despite the fact that he was almost first round pick.
38:29He was like super high second round pick. The draft capital was there.
38:34The explosiveness, we still saw it in those, in those, those plays, but it took Ramondre going down to an injury before he really got to explode.
38:42However, once he was a part of the offense, it was a clear working strategy.
38:47He was dominant. He was very, very good. In fact, during that time from week nine on, he was the running back
38:54nine averaging 16.7 fantasy points per game. When it happened, he was a monster.
38:59Yeah. His rookie season, he not to be confused with, uh, Ramonster.
39:03Correct. Correct. Not to be confused with Ramonster. Yeah.
39:06Yeah. You can hit it. Thank you. People don't really like that one.
39:10Um, but here's the thing. He didn't like none of this show.
39:14I know I've heard, I know I've heard Andy say, oh, I don't like how he looked between the tackles or, or whatever.
39:21But the truth is he was a very good running back.
39:25He was extremely efficient. Of, of 55 quality, 55 qualifying running backs with 80 or more rushing attempts.
39:31He was number one in yards before contact six and yards per carry 12th and explosive rush rate at 5.6.
39:37That was identical to Bijon Robinson. He had four touchdown runs of 50 or more yards last year.
39:43Most of the NFL. So this is a guy you want the ball in his hands.
39:48Uh, and they gave him work inside the 10.
39:51He, you know, Ramon, he had 16, 10 zone rush attempts.
39:55Travion had 21. How good was his rookie year?
39:58He had 1100 total yards and 10 rushing touchdown or 10 total touchdowns.
40:02He did that on only 215 touches. He's a good running back.
40:06He's a good player. He's explosive. The argument against him is, is Ramondre Stevenson.
40:11Like that is the whole argument against him is that he's, he's going to be an easy argument to overcome, but I fear that it has become totally.
40:20And that's why he's not being drafted in the first or second round.
40:24He was a rookie running back who averaged over five yards per carry, had a 50 plus percent rush success and 10
40:31touchdowns since the year 2000, which is amazingly over a quarter of a century ago.
40:36I don't believe you. The, Oh, I know. I felt bad when I realized that the only guys who have done that
40:43in their rookie season is Clinton Portis, Zeke, Camara, Jonathan Taylor, and H-Han.
40:47And then now Travion Henderson. You say that Henderson is being drafted super high, like he's broken out, but he's, he's actually,
40:54his ADP is so far beyond what those other guys year two were.
40:59Those other guys were all first round picks or H-N was a second round pick the following year.
41:04We're talking the 411, almost a fifth round pick here for Travion Henderson.
41:09I realize he's in a timeshare, but, but, but Jason, did you, you know, the timeshare is a big deal.
41:15Except the fact that like those other guys that I just mentioned, Camara, he was with Mark Ingram who had 12 rushing
41:22touchdowns and was the running back six his rookie year.
41:26H-N was with Mostert who had, he was the running back two with like 20 touchdowns.
41:31Yeah, it's, it's, uh, the point that I am saying is, let me give you your exclamation point.
41:37Go ahead. Is that this is the type of player that you have to take a shot on to truly be a breakout candidate.
41:45That's true. You have to call your shot that, that the backfield just won't stay the same.
41:50And that's what we have seen over and over.
41:53Nick Chubb was an explosive guy, but he was bare, you know, it was like Carlos Hyde.
41:58That was a big problem. Then they, they traded him away.
42:02Camara with Ingram, James Cook with Devin Singletary. Sounds silly.
42:05Afterwards. But in that year, Gibbs and Monty. It was like when there is the more explosive special player with high draft
42:12capital, they're going to end up getting the work.
42:15And honestly, we saw it last year. This is the, this is the thing that I, I think what happened in the
42:23playoffs when they played these unfathomably great defenses. I mean, their, their run of playoff to get to the Superbowl, they played super D, super D, super D.
42:32And Ramondre was the guy on the field. Like, I get that.
42:36But when Ramondre came back from injury during Travo's rookie season from weeks 12 on, they gave Henderson 13.3 rushing attempts per game.
42:43And they gave Ramondre 7.8. Like, the switch happened.
42:46You get to the playoffs. You go, oh, we got to do the, the trusted.
42:51They, they played defense. They didn't score a lot of points.
42:54It was a great strategy. I think as a full season goes on, your most explosive player is going to get the ball more than, than Ramondre.
43:03And if that does happen, and that has to happen to pay off at 411.
43:08But if Travion Henderson ends up at the end of the year with the 60, 40 opportunity count over Ramondre, he's, he's
43:15going to be a great pick, a top back.
43:18So I'm calling him a breakout player now because next year, if he broke out, you just go, oh, I mean, that was a great pick.
43:27There's only one of two directions it goes. I don't think there's a world where he is exactly what you're drafting him as right now.
43:35Okay. Personally. Yeah. I, I, I think, um, I think it's, it's a tough situation to see what happened in his rookie
43:42year because you had his three first, his first three productive games were when Ramondre missed.
43:47And then Ramondre was limited in practices and stuff coming back.
43:51And they obviously were kind of, they showed what they wanted to do when they got to the playoffs, in my opinion.
43:58So it, to me, there's, there is a world where he's the exact same thing.
44:03And I worry about his past protection. There's nothing about him to me that says three down back.
44:09Just me personally, from what I saw on the field, I think he's a compliment back.
44:14I think he's an explosive guy, but the reports in the, in the off season have been really negative about his past protection.
44:21And they have, and the, and Ramondre is the, the thing that nobody wants to say out loud is that he's a really good running back.
44:30We were willing to say it when Trevo didn't exist, when he got a contract extension and we were excited about him.
44:37Then now he just represents a thorn in the side of this other sexier guy that we like.
44:43But the team said in, in my opinion, they said in the playoffs that Ramondre is their number one running back.
44:50I think, I think Ramondre is a very good running back.
44:53I'm not afraid to say that this isn't like Rashad white, where I'm going, all he's got to do is beat Ramondre.
45:00And that's so easy. My point is more David Montgomery was a good running back.
45:05Mark Ingram was a good running back. These other guys in these really good offenses timeshares are good running backs.
45:12The more explosive, the better running back can be great for fancy.
45:16And I'm surprised Andy. They have to be the better running back though.
45:20Yeah, they do have to be the. That's the rub.
45:23I don't know that he has to be better.
45:26He just, he has to duplicate being that explosive and efficient and hitting that many big plays.
45:32Yeah. And the thing is, is how do you look at the Patriots offense?
45:36Like I know Andy, you've been very, very bullish on Drake May being legit, being a, a top quarterback in the league from what he did last year.
45:45He was an MVP candidate, got to the Superbowl.
45:48You are a believer that it's real. If this offense ends up as one of those like top five or six offenses
45:55in the league, I don't think it takes a complete bell cow total volume going to Henderson to be really successful.
46:02However, there is the, there is the world where, I mean, Ramondre has missed 10 games in the last three years.
46:09He's not been a pillar of health. When he went down last year, you say you, you don't have evidence of him
46:16being able to be a bell cow. Well, in those four games, he was.
46:21I didn't say that. You said, you said anything about him having, I said, I don't see him as a three down
46:28back in the NFL, which is why his, I didn't say I didn't have evidence of it.
46:33I said, I don't see that being his, his prototypical, what you're going to see on a regular basis.
46:40Anybody can be forced into that. If their leader, if the lead back gets hurt.
46:44Yeah. You, you, you, I mean, you basically said, I didn't say the word evidence.
46:49You said we haven't had anything to make us believe it.
46:53I, I let's go to the tape. We got to, we, cause you said, I can't quote you correctly.
46:59You said we haven't seen anything to make us believe it was a three down back.
47:04But in those four games, in those four games, he was on pace for three.
47:09I'm allowed to have an opinion that's different than you.
47:12But you're also. I can tell you that. I don't think that the, that he's a three down back in the NFL and his draft pick says that.
47:21You're also allowed to like what you say, stand by what you say and not change it.
47:2710 minutes later. I didn't change it. I didn't say he wasn't.
47:31The nice thing is we have tape. We have evidence.
47:34There's no evidence. I love this. I said, I don't see him as a three down back.
47:40And the team doesn't. That's why they don't play him on third down very often sometimes because Ramondre can pass for tag.
47:47You don't like it that I have a different opinion and that's okay.
47:51It has nothing to do with, I love that you have a different opinion.
47:56What I'm saying is that Ramond, who's the number one running back on the team?
48:01Ramondre. Okay. What is number one? What does number one running back mean?
48:05Carries? It means the guy that they look to when, when, yeah, I mean, I think carries.
48:10I think at the end of the year, Henderson has more carries.
48:14Do you believe him? Mike Vrabel is a big part of the equation.
48:18They're a successful team that went to the Super Bowl with this recipe.
48:23Ramondre Stevenson is a Vrabel type guy. He does the dirty work.
48:27They love him. They throw him the football. He was great in the passing game.
48:31I like Ramondre, but we've got to have a bet here.
48:35And the bet that I think you will easily take and easily lose.
48:39I'm sorry. I shared a different opinion. That is not what I'm saying.
48:43My God. I'm sorry. You are on one. We will check the tape.
48:48Yeah, we will. The bet that I think you will definitely take is when they are both healthy, like if they're both
48:55playing in the game, total carries on the season.
48:58Like carries per game. I think Henderson has more than Ramondre, which would make him the other one.
49:04I'm fine with that. I don't really like the situation right now, but I'll give you that.
49:09Injuries notwithstanding, of course. That's what I said. When they're both playing in games played, I think Henderson leads the backfield in rushing attempts.
49:17It's your pick. You can have him as a breakout.
49:20I do. I'm sorry for filling in the other side.
49:23I hope you're right, Jason. Thanks. Mike is also on my side just quietly, on the side that he doesn't have the confidence in.
49:31He's playing both sides. He's hoping on one and believing on the other.
49:35We'll take a break and talk mailbag. Mailbag. Mailbag.
49:38Mailbag. No, we don't. That's bad. The situation that happened, Mike, just to give you the quick TLDR, is that I gave
49:46Jason the power to choose who does the mailbag.
49:48Okay. He chose Matt. When Matt was given the chance to do the mailbag, he was dead silent.
49:54He didn't say anything. He was trying to set these guys up to help him, and then he just was quiet to
50:02try to sell them down the river. So then I said, I'm not hitting the drop again.
50:07You're doing the music and the drop. And he did an effort at that.
50:12He did try to do that. Well, I'll have to check it out.
50:16All right. If you have a question for the show, we're here to help.

50:26YouTube question from Josh. Who is usually the first to lock in all three of their My Guys?
50:32Is there an answer to that? Man, I don't think there is one.
50:36I feel like I did use some lock early.
50:39I think you are the one that locks someone in the earliest.
50:43Like, you usually have an offseason. Like, this year, Alec Pierce from the get-go was going to be until recently when he hasn't been able to get healthy.
50:52But I think most years, Mike Evans for you one year was super early.
50:56Like, all offseason, you were locked. Jamison Williams was like an all.
51:00You always have one guy that you're like very early and never sway on.
51:05I don't know that. I feel like you might have had yours down before anybody this year.
51:10Yeah. Or Mike did. I would say most years there isn't really an answer to this that's universal.
51:16It's just. It's not great to lock. I mean, we give that advice to our listeners.
51:22Like, you want to stay water. So, like, that was actually one of the things I think we probably brought up in
51:29the, you know, maybe not in 10 things to remember.
51:32But basically, like, I want to wait a while because you can feel great about a situation and then personnel, the draft, all that stuff happens.
51:40I want to remember, don't trade George Pickens, my guys, to Jason.
51:44Yeah, because he was yours for a long time.
51:47Because that dude was on the board forever. Eric in Iowa City, Iowa, when considering strength of schedule, why do you put
51:54so much emphasis on weeks one through six rather than the entire season?
51:59Well, number one, you want hot starts in fantasy football.
52:02The, it's silly, but this is the human part of the game.
52:06The emotion of, of waiting so long to see a player.
52:09And if someone has two awesome weeks, then it, hey, this is probably going to be a successful season.
52:16If they have two terrible weeks, they're a bust and you need to, there's panic in the streets.
52:21Also with the changeover of just defense, this is all we have to go on right now.
52:27I can't project the entire season of, of, of how a defense is going to go.
52:32So some, the team that stinks against tight ends, they will reveal themselves to us over the course of the season.
52:39It may not be the same people. Yeah. I would also suggest look at the end of the year roster and then
52:46look at your draft and more than likely it will be surprising.
52:50Like, oh wow. I only drafted these three guys.
52:53You have a lot of changes. The season is long trades.
52:56Um, you know, swaps on the waiver. Getting off to a hot start will allow you to make trades high, uh, to
53:04grab people who get off to a slow start and, and, and do better there.
53:09So certainly getting off to, um, a, a good beginning to the season is very valuable in fantasy.
53:14Deborah in Jonesboro, Tennessee. When is it a bad idea to reach for a player in your draft?
53:20Top five or would you go six rounds? I feel like after five, right around after that, everyone has their warts.
53:27So, you know, if there's a player in the, who's ADP say is in the seventh, but I'm in the fifth and
53:34is like, I got a, I got a bad feeling in my gut that someone's going to take him.
53:40I'll just take that player then. But right around the five, six round is where it starts to break open.
53:47The top of drafts in ADP are pretty good.
53:50Like statistically, historically, especially in the last five years, people get things right more than they don't.
53:55Obviously when you get to the later rounds, it's a scattershot.
53:59So when you, when you reach too far in those early rounds, you're usually going to be making a mistake.
54:05And the thing is, is in those early rounds, ADP is more established towards not just that you're making a mistake and
54:13grabbing a worse player over a better, even if you reach and that guy is correct, you're not getting the value you
54:20could get by getting him the next round or, you know, obviously if he falls all the way to his ADP, you're
54:27just not getting the most value you can. Jeff in Madison, Wisconsin.
54:31I haven't heard much talk about the dreaded RB dead zone.
54:34Where would you say the dead zone falls this year, Mike?
54:38So we, we did just briefly start talking about it.
54:41I had a whole thing that released on Saturday about the running back dead zone on just the tips.
54:47You can go listen to it, uh, from this last weekend, but it's back.
54:52Um, you know, the, the thing that we have seen, and we're going to be talking about this, uh, on Wednesday as
54:59well, is that running backs this year, because of the health of the last couple of years have been pushed up, um,
55:06more than it was a couple of years ago.
55:09It's always there. It just kind of shifts where it is inside the draft.
55:14We'll, we'll talk about it in detail here in a couple of days.
55:18All right. The, well, I was going to say, I think it probably starts.
55:23And look, I love Scadaboo, but I think right around there is where you start.
55:27You have guys where you're, you're either concerned about the team or you're concerned about the, the timeshare.
55:33All right. We have sleepers on tomorrow's episode. Wednesday.
55:36We'll cover the 10 tips and tricks. We'll have bus and values and a mayhem mock draft with Mike back in the building.
55:44Yeah. He was just afraid of the mayhem. Oh, I was, he's terrified.
55:48I was very afraid. Very afraid. All right. Don't forget the UDK for life giveaway.
55:53Pick it up. Take my thorough flu away from me.
55:56Yeah. The, uh, the drafts are here. Ultimate draft kit.com.
55:59We'll talk to you tomorrow. Goodbye. Thank you for listening to another episode of the fantasy footballers podcast.
