Ashton Dulin is expected to play in the Week 1 matchup against the Dolphins.

PositiveUsage51:42

Breece Hall is a recommended start for Week 1 against Tennessee, with an expectation of 18-20 touches in a favorable matchup.

Insight page

Brenton Strange

PositiveValue57:27

Brenton Strange is recommended as a viable spot-start tight end for those who lost Brock Bowers, as he is considered the best of the available waiver options.

Insight page

Brock Bowers

NegativeInjury33:47

Brock Bowers underwent a meniscus trim on Tuesday and is expected to miss a game or two; there is concern that if the injury is related to a previous PCL issue, it could impact his effectiveness for the rest of the season.

Insight page
NegativeInjury35:08

There is significant concern regarding Brock Bowers' injury status. While one scenario suggests a minor camp issue, there is a risk it relates to recurring instability from a previous PCL strain and meniscus damage, which could impact his effectiveness for the rest of the season. The recovery timeline is likely three to four weeks, making the 'one to two weeks' projection overly optimistic.

Insight page

Bucky Irving

PositiveRole52:02

Bucky Irving is a recommended start for Week 1 against Cincinnati, benefiting from a zone-heavy offensive scheme and the potential absence of Sean Tucker, which could increase his goal-line opportunities.

Insight page

Caleb Douglas

PositiveRole41:59

Caleb Douglas is listed as a starter alongside Chris Bell, making him a relevant player to monitor for fantasy production.

Insight page

Carnell Tate

PositiveRole41:52

Despite a poor preseason, the source recommends starting Carnell Tate as a top-24 wide receiver play, citing the expectation that the Jets will force him the ball and design plays for him, similar to how Brian Daboll utilized Malik Nabers.

Insight page

Chase Brown

PositiveUsage63:36

Chase Brown is highlighted as a multifaceted player in the Bengals' offense, with a receiving yardage projection that seems low given his potential involvement.

Insight page

Chris Bell

PositiveRole41:54

Chris Bell is confirmed as a starter with no pitch count, and he is viewed as an alpha talent in a wide receiver room lacking other established options. He is a recommended add for fantasy rosters.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

PositiveValue38:25

Colston Loveland is identified as a viable alternative to trade for or roster if fantasy managers are looking to move on from the injured Brock Bowers.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

PositiveValue52:52

Deandre Swift is considered a must-start for Week 1 due to a favorable matchup against a Carolina defense that ranked 31st in yards before contact allowed last year.

Insight page

Dalton Kincaid

NegativeUsage59:12

The source is monitoring Dalton Kincaid's snap count in Week 1, noting that while he is talented, he needs to play at least 75% of snaps to reach his ceiling; if he is limited to 50% of snaps, it indicates a failed breakout.

Insight page

Dalton Schultz

NegativeUsage60:39

Dalton Schultz is viewed as a safer play for heavy favorites, coming off a season with a 19% target share, though he remains a volatile fantasy asset despite high target volume.

Insight page

Davante Adams

PositiveProjection53:35

Davante Adams is a recommended start for Week 1, with high expectations for his role as a WR1 given his target volume inside the five-yard line and historical success against the 49ers.

Insight page

David Montgomery

PositiveUsage62:10

The source projects David Montgomery to have a significant role (estimated 65% utilization) in a Joe Mixon-style workload, as the Texans look to control the clock against Buffalo.

Insight page
PositiveUsage62:39

David Montgomery is expected to see heavy volume, with an estimated 65% utilization rate, as the Lions look to control the clock and keep the offense on the field in a Joe Mixon-style workhorse role.

PositiveUsage47:44

There are quiet whispers that Derrick Henry could see an increased role in the passing game for the Ravens this season.

Insight page

DK Metcalf

PositiveMatchup49:23

The source recommends starting DK Metcalf in Week 1, noting that the Falcons were the 30th-ranked defense against wide receivers last year and this is a favorable matchup to exploit.

Insight page

Drake Maye

PositiveProjection3:22

Despite throwing three interceptions, Drake May showed promise with 178 passing yards and 47 rushing yards on seven carries; he is viewed as an immediate trade-for candidate because his fantasy value is currently suppressed.

Insight page

Drew Lock

PositiveRole2:08

Drew Locke performed well in relief of Sam Darnold, finishing 16-for-22; he executed the game plan effectively by protecting the ball and avoiding unnecessary risks.

Insight page

Garrett Wilson

NegativeProjection38:29

Garrett Wilson is compared to AJ Brown; while he offers immediate availability, he is projected to be less productive than Brown over the course of the season.

Insight page

George Kittle

NegativeInjury32:32

George Kittle is off the injury report and will play against the Rams, though it is noted that being off the report does not necessarily mean he is at 100% health.

Insight page

Isaiah Likely

PositiveProjection55:41

Isaiah Likely is a recommended start for Week 1 against Dallas, especially given his historical production in games where Mark Andrews is absent.

Insight page

Jadarian Price

NegativeUsage12:26

Jadarian Price looked fast and efficient in his debut with 10 carries for 52 yards, but the team is committed to a 50/50 committee with George Salami; he is projected as an RB 17-25 type player rather than a bell cow.

Insight page

Jared Goff

PositiveProjection47:14

Jared Goff is a recommended start for Week 1 against New Orleans, with the potential to outperform higher-ranked quarterbacks like Josh Allen due to the favorable game environment.

Insight page

Jaxon Smith-Njigba

Insight page

Jerry Jeudy

NegativeBust57:05

The source explicitly advises against starting Jerry Jeudy in season-long lineups, noting that he will be featured on the 'Wheel of Shame' segment due to his lack of fantasy viability.

Insight page

Joe Burrow

NegativeProjection60:06

Joe Burrow has historically struggled in September, averaging fewer fantasy points early in the season compared to later months, which is a trend to monitor for Week 1.

Insight page

Jonathon Brooks

PositiveBreakout52:32

The source identifies Jonathan Brooks as a potential breakout candidate, noting that if he takes control of the Panthers' backfield in Week 1, it would be a significant development.

Insight page

Josh Allen

NegativeProjection47:27

While Josh Allen is a top-tier quarterback, there is a suggestion that Jared Goff could potentially score more fantasy points in Week 1, though most managers will still start Allen.

Insight page

Josh Jacobs

NegativeInjury63:51

Josh Jacobs is facing a potential two-to-six game suspension following the conclusion of his legal situation, which would cause a seismic shift in the Packers' backfield.

Insight page

Juwan Johnson

PositiveValue69:01

Juwan Johnson is recommended as a top waiver wire replacement for fantasy managers who lost Brock Bowers to injury.

Insight page

Kayshon Boutte

NegativeRole63:22

Malik Nabers was a full participant in practice on Wednesday, suggesting he is on track to play in Week 1.

Insight page

Malik Washington

NegativeUsage44:08

Malik Washington is noted as a deep-league target for managers needing a player who can secure around five targets in a double-flex format.

Insight page

MarShawn Lloyd

PositiveBreakout64:27

MarShawn Lloyd stands to benefit significantly if Josh Jacobs is suspended, with the potential for his fantasy value to rise sharply.

Insight page

Nico Collins

PositiveProjection63:18

Nico Collins is a recommended start for the upcoming week.

Insight page

Rhamondre Stevenson

PositiveUsage20:47

Rhamondre Stevenson is a strong fantasy play, having played 60 of 71 offensive snaps and showing efficiency after contact; he is expected to be a high-end RB1 for the next month due to his heavy workload and passing game involvement.

Insight page

Romeo Doubs

NegativeBust6:45

Romeo Dobbs had a poor debut with zero catches on three targets and was fourth in the wide receiver pecking order; he is considered a potential drop in fantasy leagues due to low snap counts.

Insight page

Sam Darnold

NegativeInjury1:56

Sam Darnold suffered an injury on the first drive of the game; while the team is optimistic, there is no final report on the duration of his absence, though he has avoided the worst-case scenario of a season-ending hip fracture.

Insight page

Sam LaPorta

PositiveProjection55:13

Sam LaPorta is a recommended start for Week 1 against New Orleans, as he is expected to be a key part of the Lions' offense in a high-scoring game environment.

Tucker Kraft

PositiveInjury40:38

Tucker Kraft is cleared for Week 1, as he is not listed on the injury report, providing a positive update for his availability.

Insight page

Wan'Dale Robinson

0:00Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast with your hosts, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore and Mike Wright.
0:05Welcome in! Yeah, I knew that was going to happen.
0:08I told these guys before when we did like two shows yesterday and Spitballers and it was coming back and it'll be a minute.
0:16Welcome into the Fantasy Footballers Thursday, September 10th. Well, I'm sure you lost a bit of your voice just with all the emotions and screaming and shouting it.
0:24What a just fun game. No, Jason, we are not doing that.
0:28I thought the game was fun. No, the game ended fun, yes.
0:32Yes, but you can't have that end without it being tight.
0:35This is part of football, man. Yeah, I mean we have so much to get into.
0:40This is going to be a long show. Yeah, we do.
0:44We have matchups today, starts of the week today, NFL news galore, injury news galore and then a recap of the game which we have to do.
0:52And so... Which includes injury news galore. Yeah, I mean it's just, it's absolutely wild.
0:57A reminder of the community over there at jointhefoot.com, hop in there, the season is starting, get access to the Ultimate Dashboard
1:04and a million in-season tools and you can support the show that way.
1:08But we can jump right in because I know it's going to be a long show.
1:13It was 13 to 10, Seattle beat the Patriots.
1:16The game started with Sam Darnold being injured almost instantaneously.
1:19First drive. Oh man. The team has come out and been optimistic about the outlook for him but we don't have a
1:26final report on the injury and duration of absence.
1:28Drew Locke ended up 16 for 22. I thought he did a great job.
1:33I was actually impressed with, after the jitters of I think the first two drives, I feel like he settled down and
1:40basically executed the only offense you needed to have when you're at home in Seattle.
1:44I thought the play calling of McDonald was kind of, like the decision making on fourth downs and stuff was very conservative
1:51but in the end it just, he executed exactly what they needed to do which is don't take too many risks, keep
1:58the game close, let your defense come alive with the 12, right?
2:02The fans got on their feet and then Drake May made the appropriate amount of mistakes to lose that game.
2:08Yeah, or the Seahawks made the appropriate amount of amazing defensive plays either way.
2:12I mean, the nice thing about Drew Locke is he said after the game, he's like, I know our team, I know the players that we have.
2:21My biggest, like the only thing I needed to do was protect the ball.
2:25Yeah, I mean, I thought they were going to actually win the game there.
2:30They were moving the ball enough where, you know, as somebody who thought Seattle would win it and then seeing them, I
2:37did not think they were going to win it once Darnold went out.
2:41And then they come back and it seems like they had it and the penalties, offensive snaps where they had a chance on the goal line.
2:49I mean, there are so many things to talk about in this game.
2:53Yeah, a lot of takeaways. I mean, you had Drake May's performance, obviously, from a fantasy perspective, 178 yards and a touchdown, three picks.
3:00I believe in the last seven games played, he has seven touchdowns, seven picks and seven fumbles.
3:06A.J. Brown. Seven picks and seven fumbles? And seven fumbles in the last seven games.
3:10A.J. Brown goes down. 7-7-7? Yeah. That's a jackpot.
3:13That's pretty lucky. That's normally good. Jack poop. Oh no, Jack poop.
3:17But I mean, so, like, all respect to the Patriots for what they did last year.
3:22They had the easiest schedule since 1999. It ended up that way.
3:26They won their games. They deserve, I mean... And in the games, Drake May looked awesome.
3:314,400 yards. I don't think Drake May is going to be, like, I'm not taking last night's performance as Drake May is
3:37not a good quarterback or he's not going to be a good fantasy quarterback.
3:42In fact, this was in Seattle. Your number one new wide receiver goes down.
3:46This was a... This is the number one scoring fantasy defense last year in Seattle.
3:51I took it as actually the opposite of what a lot of...
3:55I watched that game and I thought Drake May...
3:57I know he threw three picks. I do not think he played that bad.
4:02But I don't think he played that bad. No.
4:05The drop from Romeo Dobbs that... Oh my gosh.
4:07...busted a drive that was a humiliating drop. Are you talking about the...
4:12You talking about Romeo Dobbs who had fewer receptions than Lan Larison, Eli Raridon, Demario Douglas, AJ Brown, Hunter Henry, Ramondre Stevenson, and Matt Collins?
4:19How many Guardian caps was he wearing? Four. Because it was unbelievable.
4:23It was... And I saw a clip on Instagram just talking about like...
4:27Yes. When it's after a mistake, it looks so stupid.
4:30And it does. But yeah, AJ Brown going down.
4:33But the thing is... Is that because it implies a bigger brain?
4:37So a mistake means that you're dumber? It just...
4:40It looks like you're a bobblehead. It just... He had as bad of a debut as you could have had.
4:46Yeah. And the thing is, is for fantasy purposes, Drake May ran the ball seven times for 47 yards.
4:52It was like, oh, okay, the wheels are gonna work.
4:55Now, I expect him to be without AJ Brown for a handful of weeks.
4:59Yeah, we can kind of cover the injuries in this game right now, which is AJ Brown looks like a high ankle sprain.
5:07The x-rays were negative. There was some concern about a fibula fracture.
5:10That didn't happen. Phew. Romeo Dobbs, the one contribution he did provide last night was a locker room update about AJ Brown,
5:17which said he looked really good and seems like he's gonna be okay.
5:21Left in a walking boot. If it's a high ankle sprain from last year, we know it's usually three games.
5:27I mean, this is one of the risks. I, you know, with...
5:31You know, AJ Brown's been banged up before, but you're an older receiver.
5:35Recovery times might be a little bit... I mean, Jason's kind of sighing with the...
5:40Jason was not in a good place because, in part, like, he's got AJ Brown on a lot of teams.
5:46We all liked AJ Brown. He's my MVP. There's nothing you can control about that.
5:51Yeah, it sucks. And fantasy MVPs are not won in weeks one through four either.
5:56So, you know, last year, this happened to George Kittle.
5:59I can tell you, guillotine leagues are lost in week one.
6:02Yeah. What is? Guillotine leagues. Well, that, yeah, that is true.
6:06Our chop league, my feature was the incredible stack of Drake, May, AJ Brown.
6:10Oh, no, that's your team? Oh, I'm toast, bro.
6:13Get rekt! Week one, I will be out. Maybe.
6:16There'll be other injuries. There'll be other problems. You can always be surprised.
6:20Well, I can tell you this, Mike. Just look at my projection.
6:23I think you would be happier to be in your case than in my case because we play in very few important leagues.
6:31We try to keep it to a middle. I'm out in League of Record.
6:35I've made that, you know, from get-go. You are not out.
6:38Stop it. No, no. In League of Record? I mean, you're zero and zero right now.
6:43But my point is, you know, we've got this League of Shadows.
6:47We've got our Listener League. I've got the Megalobowl.
6:50Those are like the rest of my leagues. Right.
6:53AJ Brown. AJ Brown and AJ Brown. Oh! All three.
6:56You want to know something funny? I'm going to share a little story from our League of Record really quickly.
7:02Kill me. Yesterday, and we're going to talk about a Brock Bowers surprise surgery, aniscus multi-week.
7:07We'll talk about it. So he goes down. People have been trying to trade for him in our league.
7:13And so I hear from the manager who's like, he's starting to kind of tongue-in-cheek send some offers over to the Brock
7:20Bowers manager because he had already been trying to get him.
7:23And now he's like, oh, I've got Kelsey. I can send you to help you out.
7:28And that was the AJ Brown manager. So during the middle of the day, he's kind of, you know, making light of
7:35the situation or maybe trying to take advantage. By night, he didn't have AJ Brown.
7:40I mean, this is fantasy football at its best.
7:43I want to talk about both running backs for a moment.
7:46Yes. First, let's start with Jadarian Price. This was a rookie debut if I've ever seen one in the sense that 10 for 52 looked very fast.
7:55Yeah, he looked good. When he had, here's what my highlights were and you share yours.
8:00When contact was made, he seemed to fall forward.
8:02He seemed to fight through the end of the tackle.
8:06I liked seeing that. He also made the historical Reggie Bush mistake, which is it works to bounce it outside in college.
8:12And then I try to bounce it outside in the NFL and whoops, I'm not faster.
8:17Yeah. I mean, that's obviously going to be a common and frequent rookie problem.
8:22The other part of the rookie issue here, I thought he looked great.
8:26I really did. I thought, you know, as a runner, he was fast.
8:30He had the juice. George Salami had eight carries to his 10 and George Salami did nothing with them.
8:3629 yards. I think you mean George Salami. Yeah.
8:39Oh, I apologize. George Salami. Thank you. And, you know, it's a little frightening.
8:43You can make, it's just confirm your priors, right?
8:46He's a rookie week one. They're going to, they're obviously going to get him more work as it goes on.
8:52The least trust you're going to have in him.
8:55Exactly. Or. We love a committee. This is a committee.
8:58They had the, the MVP of the Superbowl, Ken Bone Walker, who was way more efficient.
9:03They said, no, come out. We've got Charbonnet. And this is.
9:07Emmanuel Wilson was in on the goal line. They are committed, committed to a true 50, 50 times share, which, you know,
9:13last year, the, the Seahawks were a great team, great defense, great run game, irrelevant running backs.
9:19Like Ken Bone Walker and Charbonnet both through the fantasy year.
9:22I mean, they were like. A lot of a coin flip situation.
9:26Yeah. You weren't excited to start them. They were someone that you could throw in your lineup and get the running back 24 on a week.
9:34But like, that is a scary proposition going forward.
9:37I did like that. He had two catches just to see him involved in that, uh, facet of the game.
9:43I test. I agree. I thought price looks very good.
9:46The, and I, I, you cannot, we need, we, we, we need far more games than this.
9:52Yes. The, you can't be top 12 though. If this is the issue though, is 10 for 52 for one running back and eight for 29.
10:00That literal that's Ken Bone Walker and Charbonnet. That was, that was the box score from last year.
10:05That's what would happen. So that will be dumb, but it was dumb last year.
10:10Yes. And Charbonnet will return that that's the bigger story for me.
10:14Sure. I think if this was the back, I think salami just goes back in the freezer.
10:19Oh, look at salami up there. Um, here's the thing is that Charbonnet is going to return.
10:24They're going to trust Charbonnet more than Helani. He's going to perform better than Helani, even though he's not the most efficient back.
10:32He is a more well-rounded back. But again, if you believe that price has the juice and the team is smart, which they are, the utilization should improve.
10:40Um, I feel like I'm looking at a mirror right now.
10:44Yeah. What you were saying all last year about, about Kenneth Walker.
10:47This is me last year. I want to talk.
10:50Oh, go ahead, Jay. I'm on the side that I believe Jadarian Price will not become a bell cow for this team.
10:57No, I don't think bell cows in the cards.
11:00I think, um, I think committee back with explosive place is in the card, which is probably RB 17 to 25 peak.
11:07Yeah. Unfortunately. I mean, is he as good as Kenneth Walker?
11:10Do you believe he's as good as Kenneth Walker last year?
11:14I don't know. I don't, I don't know. But my point is, He looked great though.
11:19Kenneth Walker was the running back 22 last year.
11:22And so if he is as good as Kenneth Walker.
11:2517 to 25. Yeah. Emmanuel Wilson at the goal line, even though that, that was the, uh, delay a game, I believe.
11:32It was. But just seeing that alignment, that's thought you were going to get a grand salami right there.
11:37I did. Yeah. I was, and I told you, I was watching on the phone and I was like, well, I know that's not price.
11:45No. And, uh, but that's like, that's devastating to see if you're saying it's not even going to be Holani on the goal line.
11:53It's going to be Wilson. I know that's just one snap, but you gotta, you don't want to overreact, but you do
12:00want to, and I'm, I'm going to be your, you want to alter.
12:04Yeah. And also that, that was a huge story.
12:07JSN had a huge game. He's so good for one 22 and a touchdown.
12:1145 yard. Lock. Yeah. And it was awesome. That was, that was ridiculous.
12:15It was slippery. Like Patriots. What are you doing?
12:18He's like new slippery fish in the secondary. He is slippery.
12:21There was, there was just a little play as like dynamic as the OBJ or like, exactly.
12:27He doesn't seem as explosive as Jamar chase, but you watch him with the ball in his hands.
12:32He just goes like, and I gets extra yards all the time.
12:36And I'm going to say something. I know again, this, you could, you can chalk it under confirming priors.
12:42I'm just going to tell you facts and information and you can draw whatever you want.
12:47The entire earth wanted to pile on to Ramondre Stevenson last night.
12:51I'm going to tell you the facts about Ramondre Stevenson and what I believe, and you can do whatever you want with it.
12:58There was never an argument this off season that Ramondre Stevenson was going to be a good pick because he's explosive like Travion Henderson.
13:05Last night, Ramondre Stevenson scored 13.8 fantasy points in our league of record.
13:09That is more than Drake may scored. He was the second highest score or the highest score on the Patriots.
13:16It wasn't efficient, but here's the facts. I want to tell you.
13:19Number one, Ramondre Stevenson had 60 of 71 offensive staffs for the team.
13:23Number two, 50 of his 51 rushing yards happened after contact.
13:27Number three, five times he was hit in the backfield where their offensive line did nothing.
13:32If you remove the five times he was met in the backfield, because I went one by one, he ran for 4.69
13:39a carry on the rest of his carries. He caught five passes in the offense.
13:43And we'll be catching more without A.J. Brown. Sure.
13:46And the Seattle Seahawks were the number three rushing defense in the NFL last year, giving up an average of 3.6 per
13:53carry to all running backs that they faced. To me, if you want to, you know, let me get the effect here.
14:00If you want to go, if you want to give Ramondre the great plodding award of the year and you want to
14:07bury your head in the sand about how often he was used, it's only going to be better than this until Travion is back on this team.
14:15I still think the workload is going to be high.
14:18And by the way, he had a higher top speed than Jadarian Price last night.
14:23That's hilarious. It is hilarious because it's like, oh, Jadarian showed his speed.
14:27He was so fast. It's like, Ramondre was faster.
14:30The argument for Ramondre was always bell cow utilization.
14:33That's it. He's not a spectacular back. On talent, remember I said- On a good offense too.
14:38On a good offense. Yeah. It's just like now if AJ Brown's out, his passing work is going to be high and
14:45they're going to play defenses that are not in Seattle on the debut.
14:49So to me, if you can have a game that people on Twitter think is the worst game of your life and
14:56you're the highest scoring fantasy player on your team, and anybody who started him, I have him in a bunch of leagues,
15:03very satisfied with the output of a game where they didn't score a touchdown outside of Eli Raradon, never got on the goal line.
15:10I just think it was overblown. No. I mean, Ramondre is going to be a phenomenal play at the very least the next month.
15:18He should be a, like a, honestly, he should be a running back one over the first month of the season.
15:24I really do think that he's going to be so involved in the passing game.
15:29You're going to have Travion Henderson still coming back.
15:32I will say that on the positive for Travion Henderson, I know it was the Seahawks, but this looked like a team
15:39that needed another weapon, especially with, as soon as AJ Brown went out, it was like, my goodness, they are lacking weapons.
15:46Big Mac is back, baby. Well, this was, the expectation we had in our preview on Tuesday was that this would be
15:52a low scoring game where the defenses were out ahead of where the offenses were and that the Patriots were going to
15:59struggle dealing with new offensive pass catchers because they hadn't done it before.
16:03Now, it was alarming to me that Romeo Dobbs had zero catches and Mac Hollins was targeted as much as he was.
16:10And if you go to the snap counts. It's the three targets for Dobbs that is far more troubling.
16:16And it was correlated to snaps. Dobbs was getting far fewer snaps than Mac Hollins or to Mario Douglas.
16:22So that's concerning. I think, I mean, genuinely, I think Romeo Dobbs is a drop in fantasy.
16:27Probably, but it's hard to know because Mac Hollins came into the AJ Brown role.
16:32You know, AJ Brown got injured right at the beginning of the second half.
16:37So you had Hollins playing a role that he wasn't usually, I think AJ Brown would have eight in that game.
16:43Before AJ Brown left, if you go watch the snap counts.
16:47If it was just first half snap counts? When AJ Brown was alive and well, the snap counts for Romeo Dobbs was
16:53fourth in the pecking order of the wide receivers.
16:56It is very strange. The only issue with dropping him is that I assume we're going to be without AJ Brown for a couple of weeks.
17:04And who is? That's an overplay. Maybe, maybe, you know, Mac Hollins is a pickup.
17:09It will be hard not to drop him is the better point.
17:13Oh, yeah. I've got him. Because if you have zero production and you're getting low snaps and then you're going to have
17:20a swath of waiver wire pickups we're excited about.
17:22Yeah, that's true. Because Pat Bryant breaks out in week one.
17:26Hey, I'm all for it. So major takeaways from this game.
17:29Call your shot on Jadarian Price, whether you think he's explosive and looks good and will get more work or whether you
17:36confirm that he is going to be in a committee and can't be a top back.
17:41Uh, Drake May is much better than he performed yesterday.
17:44I think he's like an immediate trade for candidate because people are going to be very, very low.
17:50No, AJ Brown. I think AJ Brown will be great when he comes back or Mondray should be awesome.
17:56And then the latest news we have on Sam Darnold is, uh, waiting on an MRI, the biggest fears of like a
18:03season ending, like hip fracture look in the rear view.
18:06Short term. I are is still not off the quote here.
18:09Dodged a bullet. Dodged a bullet, but it's still, I would still could miss time.
18:14Yeah. Still could miss time. Yeah. That's a, that's encouraging for the JSN is so good.
18:19He's very good. And Cooper cup. We can give an opportunities last night.
18:23He had a touchdown called back. He made some place.
18:26Yeah. He had an awesome one handed catch. And cause just the, the, um, the outcome, you know, like what is this
18:33with, with, uh, with Darnold missing time for JSN?
18:36And, you know, I just to touch on it real quick of like, this isn't a, this doesn't feel like Joe Burrow
18:43last or I'm sorry, uh, Jamar chase. Oh yeah.
18:46Last year where, where Brownie came in and you're like, this dude is completely incompetent.
18:50And you're just, you do have to fully panic on Jamar chase.
18:54I don't, your, your, your output's going to go down.
18:57Yeah. But Drew Locke is at least. Drew Locke is no Paxton.
19:01Backup. Right. I mean, personality wise, he might be, but, uh, we'll take a quick break and talk all this news, news and notes from around the league.
19:10Well, the first thing I'm going to share real quick is that, uh, today was the day of Josh Jacobs in court
19:17and he pled no contest, uh, to the charges that were brought against him, which included a no contest plea on five different conditions.
19:24He needs supervision and counseling and pay restitution to the victim and no contact with the victim.
19:29And Oh, by the way, one of the conditions, no further criminal acts.
19:33Oh, one of the cool agreements you do when you've committed criminal act, they're going Jim Carrey on him.
19:39So we're not breaking the law. Yes. Yes, we are.
19:42Um, so we might have more information about that's where it'll probably just be an immediate six games then probably.
19:49Yeah. So we talked about AJ Brown and Darnold.
19:52We don't need to talk about them again. George Kittle off the injury report will play tonight against the Rams.
19:58Come on, George. It does not. Come on, George.
20:01George being off the injury report does not mean he is at 100%.
20:05So make, we've talked a lot about whether or not you play him and who you would play over him, but it's good to see.
20:12Um, Oh, by the way, with all this injury news, I just want to remind people one of the extra perks of
20:19the foot clan is an injury blitz podcast that comes out tomorrow.
20:23And I can tell you right now, Matthew Betts is all over this stuff.
20:27And I'm going to give you the breakdown here because we've got news yesterday that Raiders tight end Brock Bowers, who seven
20:34days was it is he's expected to miss just a curse a game or two after undergoing a meniscus.
20:40Stop it. Nope. Stop it. Matthew Betts. I talked to him this morning, our, uh, injury expert, and I wanted to get his breakdown of the scenarios.
20:49Now I will say this from what I can, I cannot find anybody.
20:53And he has reached out to multiple Raiders beat reporters and he cannot get anybody to confirm 100%.
20:58It's the same knee, but we all assume it is because he was in camp with a brace on the knee.
21:05He ended up with a meniscus trim on Tuesday.
21:08Here's the two scenarios that Matthew Betts outlaid for me.
21:11Number one, it could be a fluky thing that happened in camp.
21:15And if that's the case, he could reasonably return in a few weeks and be the same guy this year or option two.
21:22No, I don't like if it's related to the PCL on bone bruise issue from last year, which caused Brock Bowers to be, um, out and ineffective.
21:30It would be a red flag to him. He said, if he suffered meniscus damage because of recurring instability in the knee
21:37because of the PCL strain, it is a concern for all of the rest of season effectiveness.
21:42Vast majority of PCL sprains heal well, but there is a subset that don't.
21:47And the, the one he can point to Ricky Pearsall.
21:50Oh boy. Because you can have recurring lingering issues.
21:53It like Pearsall was another strain situation where it was like, well, if you're going to get surgery, why didn't you do it three, four months ago?
22:01I think the same scenario we're sitting here with Brock Bowers.
22:05You had these Twitter videos that were like, what do you believe?
22:08And he's kind of limping and he's doing these runs and then he's kind of sitting to the side of practice.
22:15Oh no, he's fine. And then what Clint Kubiak came out and said, everyone's going to suit up an hour before this was announced.
22:22Yeah. Thank you for revealing yourself to us. Yeah.
22:25Kubiak. That was dirty. I mean, there's no way that Kubiak did not know that his player had had, that his star most important player had had surgery.
22:34Oh, I hope coaches do that for the podium is they like, they tell everyone, don't tell me anything.
22:40The medical staff. But I would say I'm very concerned with Brock Bowers.
22:44Um, I don't think that there's much that you can do.
22:47If you could trade him high for a hall.
22:50Someone's like, Oh, I can get Brock Bowers. Maybe I'm going to ask you horrible questions right now.
22:56Okay. Horrible questions. Would you trade Brock Bowers right now for Tyler Warren?
23:00I told you I'm gonna ask you horrible. So I think I think I would.
23:05And that's her craft. No, no. Colson Loveland. Yeah, I think I would.
23:09I had someone ask me today. Would I trade AJ Brown immediately right now for Garrett Wilson?
23:14And I said, yes, because I think AJ Brown is going to be better than Garrett Wilson.
23:19You just want the extra three games. But you get a yeah, you get a month of fantasy production like that still matters.
23:27You still have to make the playoffs. Right in order to win a championship.
23:31So that's a tough one. If you add those extra games in and then you go, I don't know how they'll come back after the injury.
23:39Maybe they're slow. You know it. Play how you're going to play in the playoffs.
23:44I think AJ Brown will be better than Garrett Wilson.
23:47I hope that Brock Bowers is way better than either Loveland or Warren, but I think I would make.
23:53We are so back. We are. Mike, we were one game in.
23:57We are so back. Oh, man. We weren't even a game in before this.
24:01This is came out. And then a just another note season pass on the tilt machine, baby.
24:06We saw it. We bought it. Definitely not here to, you know, call for panic in the street on Brock Bowers.
24:13We just we don't know. We do know that if it's if it is exactly what they say it is, typical recovery
24:20timeline is closer to three to four weeks. Absolutely.
24:22The one to two weeks is that's a very aggressive Wolverine.
24:26In your bra. Yeah. Oh, ashen gent. Two liar.
24:29That's what we're going for today. Jason, you're up.
24:32I'm up. I'm working on it. And it can't be a goose.
24:35Okay. I already hit that. Ashen Gent, full participant.
24:38There's some good Raiders news for you. Tucker Kraft, not in the injury report ahead of week one.
24:44There's some good injury news for you. And we're back.
24:47JCM limited with the groin injury groin index dot com member lifetime member currently on this offseason.
24:52But JCM Rashad White practicing in full. That could be something to watch in week one for the commanders.
24:58Rashad White practicing in full is very similar to Bill being limited.
25:02Okay. That's funny. Malik Nabors practicing full on Wednesday.
25:05Oh, come on. Seems like he's going to play.
25:07Come on, baby. And the news that I have been waiting for as an emphatic and excited Chris Bell fan.
25:14The Dolphins head coach, Jeff Haefley, says there will be no pitch count for Chris Bell.
25:19They also listed Bell and Douglas as starters. Just put that in the in the category of better offense than you think.
25:26Chris Bell is a first round wide receiver talent, talent, talent wise.
25:29And I believe I believe he is the an alpha talent on a team with no talent at wide receiver that we
25:36know of outside of these two rookies who are now the starters.
25:40You talk about Malik Washington or you talk about Tolbert or these other guys they brought in.
25:45They just made two rookies the starters. And that's what a team like this should 100% be doing.
25:51They should throw them out there and be like, okay, if we lose, we lose.
25:56Let's see what we have. Let's get them reps.
25:58Let's get them experience. I didn't think because of the recovery timeline, the fact that he's a rookie and the in the
26:05training camp and the, you know, being out there for reps would have a full snap allotment from week one, which is
26:12why I was on the Caleb Douglas side. If I knew for sure that both players and it sounds like we know
26:19for sure that both players are full time starters from week one, that's what we're being told.
26:24Then I would switch to certainly to the Chris Bell side.
26:28The upside is higher. I think with Chris Bell both are worth a shot.
26:32But right now before this weekend's games, look at the worst player on your team on your roster, your last round pick,
26:39and maybe think about swapping that out for Chris Bell just to see if this might be a chance to get him
26:46before he's a big pickup next week. Yeah. And speaking of in our league of record, Malik Washington was one of my
26:53last picks for because I needed him for a double flex.
26:56I'm like, I just need a guy who's going to get five or so targets with this news.
27:02I have pivoted to Devon Bailey as my nasty boy who wide receiver two for the Saints.
27:07Yeah. Would you if you could play Bailey or Caleb Douglas, who would you play Bailey?
27:12Okay. If you could play Bailey or Romeo Dobbs, who would you play?
27:16Yeah. Who I would have. Matt Collins is the answer.
27:19I would currently have a big fat zero on my roster.
27:23I do. For the first time this year. I would have done it.
27:27It starts of the week. All right. Starts of the week brought to you by Apple Card.
27:32All right. We've got the trio of start of the week picks at every position.
27:37Uh, you want to give a quick overview on how we view starts of the week?
27:42Just like, what does that represent for people? Cause we, we don't come in here and say like, yeah, I mean, Jameer
27:49Gibbs is the start of the week. Honestly, it's different in week one than the rest of the, than the rest of the year.
27:56Usually we are looking for someone who is a questionable start.
28:00You know, it's not, it's not always like this guy's going to be the best player of the week.
28:06This is like, Hey, if you've got a tough start decision, this guy looks like someone that you should put in your lineup.
28:13I would say that week one is slightly different, right?
28:16This is like, you're going to start the guys you drafted more often than not in the order that you drafted them.
28:23Um, but this is a, you know, this is confidence plays in those borderline.
28:27We think that they've got a really good matchup, something special about their situation where I want them in my lineup.
28:34Jared golf. Jared golf is going to. Jared golf.
28:37Jared golf. He's going to be my start of the week.
28:40All right. New Orleans. Great opportunity at home week one.
28:43I think golf is like golf is, I hate to say this.
28:47He's the only person I actually look at on the waiver wire and I go, man, he's probably going to be way
28:54better than Josh Allen in week one. And I should probably like, if I had any, you know, like he's probably going
29:01to score more fancy points than Josh Allen in week one.
29:04I know I'm not going to make the switch.
29:07You won't. No, I'm not. I know your bench.
29:10You can easily make that move. You think? Cause it just doesn't matter.
29:14I just won't play a quarterback. Well, I'm saying you've got guys to drop.
29:18Oh yeah. I mean, I could do it for sure.
29:21I, I, it's hard for me not to play Josh Allen in week one of the season.
29:27I mean, that seems I have a man wrong.
29:29That would be a stack situation. Yeah. Jared golf.
29:32He's my start of the week. I think he's a, he must start this week.
29:37Uh, yeah, I like that. This, these are quick and simple for week one, Baker Mayfield, a guy that might be on
29:44your waivers or was, you know, a later. Yeah.
29:47Baker might be on your waivers. A later round pick.
29:50He's playing on the road against Cincinnati in the highest over under of the week.
29:54He just got paid 55 million dollars a year on a new contract.
29:58I mean, the bangles. Laser. Both those guys are on waivers in our league.
30:03Mayfield. Um, you know, I mean, you, you pay the man his money and then play in Cincinnati against, you know, an
30:10improved, but still terrible bangles defense in the highest over under of the week.
30:14You should play. Also just you, you want to play against the bangles.
30:18Either the defense is bad or that offense is going to put up points.
30:22Exactly. It'll be a great matchup. I'm going with Jackson darts against the Dallas Cowboys.
30:27It is Sunday night. It's the third highest over under of the week.
30:31The Cowboys like the bangles will have a better defense, but we all we have is last year's data.
30:37And last year, uh, against the Cowboys at home, Jackson dart, 230 and two completed nearly 70% of his passes and five
30:44carries for 32 yards on the ground. I think darts in a, uh, a good spot to start the season.
30:50All right. Amari and Hampton against Arizona is my running back.
30:54Start of the week. Hot Hampton gets it going double digit home favorites.
30:58Cardinals suck. And, uh, there you go. Yeah, I'm going to go.
31:02I'm going to go. Brees Hall. He's on the road against Tennessee.
31:05His groin is intact. He should see 18 to 20 touches in a winnable game.
31:10The Titans, they ranked 28th and points allowed to the running back position last year.
31:15Uh, the Jets offensive line has also been improved.
31:17So he is a, uh, I think he's a great play this week.
31:22And I, Jason, I got your guy. Your running back is my start of the week.
31:27Oh, let's go. Bucky Irving. Yeah. He's a running back too, but he is in a very good spot against the Cincinnati bangles.
31:34Jay. It's the highest over under new bucks. OC Zach Robinson ranks number one among all player play college over the past
31:41five years for percentage of zone based runs. Last year, Cincinnati allowed near nearly five yards per carry on zone runs.
31:47Do we have a perfect match here? Also, Sean Tucker should be out.
31:51We don't know for sure that that will give the goal line to Bucky, but it definitely gives it a boost in probability.
31:58Devante Smith, a wide receiver is my start of the week against Washington.
32:02It's time to watch him take over as the alpha for Jalen hurts commanders defense.
32:07Last year, the past defense was pretty much the worst in the NFL.
32:11Easy start. Devante Smith. I'm going to also go with a Devante.
32:15I'm going to go Devante Adams. So if you have a Devante, you should start him.
32:20I love it tonight. Uh, in Australia. So is it actually tomorrow?
32:24Um, sort of yesterday. Kind of, uh, I I'm, I'm like all in on Devante Adams.
32:29I, I have, I believe he's a wide receiver one this year, man.
32:33I mean, he was a wide receiver one last year with 14 touchdowns, saw 16 targets inside the five yard line, which
32:40is the most targets since targets have been a stat.
32:43Um, so you know, this is a great matchup against the 49ers.
32:47He had 19 targets in two games against the 49ers last year.
32:50And I'm going with a Ted row McMillan. Like he's the number one for the team.
32:55He will get the target share, the highest target share of the team.
32:59And he is playing against the bears where their secondary last year, 31st and schedule adjusted fantasy points allowed to the position
33:0629th and yards per game 29th and pressure rate.
33:09This should be a game that Bryce young will surpass 200 yards should be.
33:13And the benefactor will be T-Mac. Last start of the week, Sam Laporta, the other side of that golf situation against new Orleans.
33:21I'm stacking them up. Um, you obviously have a touchdown chance of Sam Laporta in this high over under.
33:27The weakest part of the Saints defense defending the tight end position.
33:30Sam Laporta. Uh, yeah, you're not worried about the, the coming back from the injury.
33:35You're, you're all in. Yeah, I'm feeling good. Uh, I'm going to go Isaiah likely against Dallas to stack.
33:41So excited for like Jackson. Yeah. I mean, if you drafted him late, this is a great way to see what's going to happen.
33:48You know, in his nine career games without Mark Andrews, he's averaged 50 receiving yards, 12 and a half PPR points.
33:55And I promise Mark Andrews will not be on the field.
33:58Uh, he's not on the roster. I, I was almost sad that I still had Kyle pits available to me in our
34:05league of record draft because my plan, me and my son who run the team, we're like, we want Isaiah likely.
34:12But with him there, we're like, okay, we got to take Kyle pits, but I just wanted, I wanted likely.
34:18I think you could rely on him this year.
34:21I think you made the right decision, but especially week one, that Dallas matchup is very good for tight ends.
34:27I think with, with, with Darius Slayton going away is like, there's a commitment.
34:32And neighbors might be on a snap count. Start a little slower.
34:35I do. I do. I, my outlook for our likely has gone up, but this will make you happy.
34:41Andy. Cause Kyle pits at pit is my start of the week.
34:45Oh, pits V pit. It's Pua. But I mean, this time it's just to, Oh, this is favorite thing, man.
34:51That low a dot. That's how you get it done.
34:54That's two is way as Steelers last year, a problem defending the tight end position, 30th and scheduled adjusted points.
35:0129th and receptions allowed to the position Kyle pits.
35:03While it's probably an a dot of three to five, he should be good for five plus receptions, getting you some volume.
35:10All right. That was starts of the week brought to you by apple card.
35:15Apply in the wallet app on your iPhone today.
35:17Subject to credit approval. Apple card issued by Goldman Sachs bank, USA salt Lake city, branch terms, and more at apple card.com.
35:24Fantasy forecast presented by prize picks. Here we go.
35:27Week one, the full slate Tampa Bay. Stay healthy people.
35:30Yeah. I mean, that's probably worth saying the first game was so bad and pregame and postgame.
35:36Uh, Tampa Bay Buccaneers traveled to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals Vegas line Cincinnati minus three and a half over under 50.5.
35:43We just talked about Baker. Jason started the week.
35:46Just talked about Bucky. Mike started the week high over under.
35:49I can't help but think of every beginning of the season in the context of Cincinnati failing.
35:54Yeah. So, you know, losing as favorites at home against Tampa would be a tough, a tough start for Mike's Super Bowl favorites.
36:02But, um, it's a different year. 9 and 10 is the Joe Burrow.
36:06Excuse me. Read the read his entire nine, 10 and one.
36:09Thank you. In September. Thank you. The worst part for fantasy managers.
36:13He averages 15.7 fancy points per game in September.
36:16And that jumps up to his normal range. 20, 18, 22, 20 for the next four months.
36:21He's kind of a Yeti too. Joe Burrow just seems to put up points when it gets colder.
36:27Um, except for like Henry is good in the beginning and then gets better.
36:31Burrow's bad in the beginning and then gets great.
36:34Let me give you the week one fantasy points for Burrow the last three years.
36:38Last year he scored 8.8 fantasy points. The year prior was 8.1 fantasy points.
36:43The year prior was 3.2 fantasy points. So, big game.
36:46Big opportunity. At home. Gotta get it done. Gotta get it done for Jamar and Tee Higgins.
36:51Chase Brown. Lots of auto starts in this game.
36:54I think I will kind of on week one, like we said, there's not a lot of start to sit decisions.
37:01From the main players. But there are situations on depth charts that are interesting.
37:05To me, the biggest story of this game is going to be the wide receiver room for Tampa Bay and what it
37:12looks like when the game is over. High over under.
37:15Baker can get it done. Bad defense. You should sit here and say, hey, I'm Emeka Abuka.
37:20I think Abuka, Godwin, and one other mysterious name is going to have a game in this game.
37:26Yeah, is it Jalen McMillan or is it Kate Auten that gets the...
37:30Is it Tez Johnson or Ted Hurst? Yeah, absolutely.
37:33What about me? Yeah! I would say that both...
37:36A pack of chainsaw! When we're looking at these week one matchups, the most important thing is not really even who to start.
37:43It's what to watch for. Like, that's the most important thing.
37:46We need to go into these games going, what are we going to keep an eye on?
37:52And to me, it is both the wide receiver core and what's the pecking order, the snap counts, but also the running back core.
37:59How much is Kenny Gainwell involved? Yeah. How much does he siphon away passing work from Bucky Irving?
38:05That's going to be... The Buccaneers are a very interesting watch, and it's fun that it gets to be against the Cincinnati defense.
38:12Yeah, the Bengals are also... I want to see how different it actually is.
38:16A lot has been talked up of this. We're going to be under center more to help us get more explosive runs,
38:23to help with the play action, to really sell things.
38:26Chase Brown remains just a very strong... He finished incredible.
38:29It started real bad because they didn't have a quarterback, but just multifaceted in the game.
38:34I see Price Picks has him at 23 and a half receiving yards.
38:38Does that seem low to you? It seems low because Vitavea just got a $30 million contract extension after he was like, I want to be traded.
38:47They're like, no, they paid the man his money.
38:50It's hard to run against the Buccaneers when Vitavea is healthy and motivated and playing well.
38:55But the little dump-offs to Chase Brown, 23 and a half receiving yards, that seems easy to me.
39:00New Orleans travels to Detroit. So we have a couple of the games that were featured in our starts of the week.
39:07The over-under here, a delicious 49 and a half.
39:10Detroit, minus seven. And I'm going to be honest, I feel like that's respectful of New Orleans.
39:15When you're at home and New Orleans with what they were able to do last year, Detroit...
39:21I could have seen this being a bigger line.
39:23Maybe eight and a half or something like that.
39:26Detroit has the second... In Detroit, yeah. ...has the second highest implied point total.
39:31Detroit is going to be cooking this week, which is...
39:34They're one of the only teams where you can say, you know, golf this week, Gibbs, Amon-Ra, Jameson Williams, and Laporta, I think are all in play.
39:42Sure. Absolutely. This game environment is exactly what you want.
39:45The pace of play, you know, from Moore on the Saints is awesome.
39:49The fact that Detroit is going to score a kajillion points...
39:53I'm all about this game. And this is why, you know, you talked about Devon Vele as your kind of emergency play as a wide receiver too.
40:01It's because of this game environment. It's perfect for fantasy.
40:04All right. Well, then on the other side... Travis Achan Jr.
40:08gets the opportunity to make his Rumbelaya debut. Tyler Shuck.
40:11We'll see if he takes a step forward. Brother, the prize picks projection has Shuck at 246 and a half.
40:17I thought that was insane. I thought that was insane.
40:20Only Joe Burrow and Dak are higher. Well, they're going to need to pass the ball in this game.
40:26This is what we're talking about. So, Juwan Johnson, Olave, Vele in a pinch...
40:31Honestly, Travis Achan Jr. is going to get a lot of work in the receiving game.
40:36It's not something that Moore's offenses usually over the last couple years have excelled at targeting the running back.
40:42But that is one of Travis Achan Jr.'s calling cards.
40:45And they're going to be passing once they're down.
40:47Anything else from this matchup that you think is a tough decision or something you're watching for, as you said?
40:54I'm watching the Jameson Williams-Sam Laporta situation where hopefully, assuming Sam Laporta is healthy and plays his full allotment of snaps, which it appears he is going to.
41:02I want to know how does Jameson Williams do.
41:05Because Jameson Williams blew up at the end of last year.
41:09It coincided with two different things. The play calling changing, but also Sam Laporta being off the field.
41:14I want Jameson Williams to come out week one and dominate with Laporta on the field.
41:19I think that would say a lot. Yeah, I think it would be tough, I think, for all those guys every week to get it done.
41:27I think Laporta and Jameson could see more ping-ponging this year in terms of one of those guys being the next man
41:34up because Gibbs and Alman Raj are so involved.
41:37But this could be a good week for it with the over-under.
41:41If you lost Brock Bowers and you are scrambling, I had tweeted out right when the news came, but this shouldn't surprise
41:48you, that Jawan Johnson would be pretty much my favorite replacement who is on a lot of waiver wires.
41:54I know he's not on every one, but I think that he is a solid play.
41:59All righty. New York, Tennessee coming up next. We'll take a quick break and get back into the week one matchups.
42:05What's the opposite of a juggernaut? I'd say get the Pepto ready.
42:09Hey, someone gets a win. That is probable but not guaranteed.
42:12Wait till you hear these numbers, though. Tennessee minus one and a half at home.
42:17That's fine. Over under 38 and a half. That's the lowest of week one.
42:22What? You're talking about the 29th and 30th ranked offenses last year in points per game and yards per game.
42:28They were not good. Cam Ward, you know, I still hope that he's not a liar when he says, I said in
42:35the preseason, look, we've got a lot of. We've got a lot of stuff we're not doing yet and we'll do it when the game time happens.
42:43So that's that's all fine and well. But the stuff you were doing, you were not doing very well.
42:49Yeah. So I hope the stuff that you haven't done.
42:52You're really good. That's I mean, that's a point.
42:55Robert Sala echoed that, you know, after some of the preseason struggles, he said, you know, when it came to would to.
43:02No, I know. But I believe it. I believe that they were not focused on necessarily like I think there's going to
43:09be a lot of worry about starting Carnell Tate.
43:12You haven't seen it yet. Looked bad in preseason.
43:14Do I start or as a rookie, do I just like hold off?
43:18And I would absolutely be starting him. First of all, I have a level of a star.
43:24Are you saying like a wide receiver? Yeah. Why?
43:27No, I would say a wide receiver. Wise receiver.
43:29Is that I heard? I see I see him as a top 24 play.
43:34OK, I mean, it's you know, the Jets defense is is not going to be very good.
43:39I do think that they're going to force him the ball and design plays for him.
43:44Brian Dayball did this with Malik neighbors in his rookie season.
43:47I think there will be some design plays for him.
43:51I am very curious to see the Wandale involvement.
43:53He you know, I brought up Alec Pierce as being one of the only receivers drafted that late where he had a thousand yards the year before.
44:02Wandale was the only other one like they paid him a ton of money.
44:06He's a very good player. And he played for Brian Dayball when Brian Dayball goes and gets you.
44:12It means something to me. So I am curious about the utilization there.
44:16On the other side, we just want consolidation. Brees Hall, Garrett Wilson.
44:20I'm not watching for much else. I honestly if I had to pick a sleeper surprise performance of this entire game.
44:26To me, it's Adonai Mitchell. Yeah, people people talked about him during the the offseason.
44:31Maybe this is the year. Yeah, I mean, I liked what I saw in the I mean, it was hard to watch
44:38the Jets last year, but in his limited time once he arrived, I thought it was pretty good.
44:43Baltimore, the Ravens at Indianapolis Vegas line here, Baltimore minus three and a half over under forty seven and a half.
44:50You feeling good about this one? Much better than the last game.
44:54I am very curious about this. Both of these teams are teams that I am very like, I'm not sure how it's going to go.
45:02I know that Baltimore is expected to win, you know, double digit games and they should be great.
45:07Their defense should be great. They've got Lamar. They've got Derrick Henry, but they've gotten much, much worse on the offensive line.
45:14They lost their star fullback. I could see their offense potentially struggling.
45:18And with the change in the long term leadership that this organization was very used to, you know, a hardball run in the show.
45:25And now it's a completely new system in here with new coaches.
45:29I'm just curious. I want to see what we see for Baltimore.
45:33And then when it comes to the Colts, it's like that was the tale of two halves last year with and without Daniel Jones.
45:40They were Daniel Jones was an MVP candidate. They were the number one seed in the NFL after eight weeks and everything looked good.
45:48He got injured and then they were a putrid team.
45:51And so it's like, well, are they are they going to be as good as they were to start last year this year?
45:58Now that Daniel Jones is back. This is a great test for both teams.
46:02I am absolutely fascinated to watch it. Yeah. So you're going to you're going to start your studs in this one.
46:09The health of Alec Pierce is something we're watching the distribution of the downs Keenan Allen.
46:14You know, what is Daniel Jones look like? Jacoby Lane, a rookie we're watching mostly to see what's the snaps like?
46:21Yeah, snaps is everything for Jacoby Lane. I mean, which I'm not expecting.
46:25I'm not either a lot. I'm not either. It even though he had one of the loudest drum beats of the entire offseason.
46:32We we know the traditional path for rookies drafted in the range that he was that it it takes time would expect
46:39it will be flowers and Rashad Bateman as the primary guys.
46:42But maybe we're pleasantly surprised. Yeah, when day two or day three picks get a bunch of buzz and really excited.
46:49Right. Was he a fourth? You get remember that right?
46:52No, he was a third round. You get really big baby.
46:55Yeah. Hey, but even them they don't usually play enough snaps week one to be relevant.
47:00So that's what to watch for. And I'm of course, you know, I'm watching the Josh down snaps.
47:06Yeah. And it's always are you on the outside?
47:09It's it's important to know that these rookies while they don't get a lot of opportunities in week one that doesn't set
47:16the table for them to never correct themselves into an offense things evolve with effectiveness.
47:20Rashad Bateman has the legal plus talent troubles and we'll see what happens for the offense as it goes in that, you know, the debut of Jesse Minner.
47:29And I think the Ravens are extremely exciting for week one to because it should absolutely work out.
47:35Your concerns, Jay, are I think are very valid.
47:37But you're like, you have superstars on this team.
47:40Yeah, so it should work. And the whispers, the they're very quiet.
47:44But the whispers of Derrick Henry catching more passes this year.
47:47We'll see. Atlanta at Pittsburgh. They can't all be winners.
47:51Vegas line here. Pittsburgh minus three and a half over under just forty two and a half.
47:56Is there a worse quarterback matchup on a single week?
47:59What's worse to watch? Rogers V to a or Cam Ward V Gino.
48:03Oh, Cam Ward V Gino. I think we're getting to a couple of the super combos this week.
48:09The Falcons have not had a winning season since twenty seventeen.
48:12The Pittsburgh Steelers were the slowest, most plotting offense last year.
48:16Twenty eight in plays per game, which it's one thing to just be like disappointed in the offensive output of your wide receivers in Pittsburgh.
48:23When Kenny Gainwell leads the team in receiving instead of DK Metcalf, their alpha.
48:28But it's another thing to do it in such a way that makes me so bored and so sad.
48:34And they were the worst to watch last year.
48:37Like if we just watch a back and forth affair where Tua is throwing four yard passes to Kyle Pitts and Aaron
48:43Rogers is throwing four yard passes to Darnell Washington.
48:46Yeah, I mean that might be the game. Who has the lower a dot this week between those two guys?
48:52Gosh, I think Tua. Yeah, man. He is done soon.
48:56He is done soon. Tua V Rogers. We're hoping that Mike McCarthy brings some new life to the Steelers.
49:02Well, and the same with Kevin Stefanski in Atlanta.
49:04Sure. And Tommy Reese. But right now, play B.
49:07John Robinson and Drake London. Play Kyle Pitts for sure.
49:10Yeah. Mike's start of the week. And then on the offensive side for Pittsburgh, I think you would probably concede Jalen Warren's going to be in lineups.
49:19Warren and Doudo will both be played. I mean, Metcalf was not in.
49:23He was not drafted in a place that means you have to start this guy.
49:27No, but I would. You know, this is a perfect matchup.
49:31Obviously, last year, the Falcons were the 30th against wide receivers giving up over 31 points a game with McCarthy in tow.
49:38So I would say that this is a, you know, DK Metcalf's going to be in one of those situations where until
49:45one of the two things are proven, like he is really good or he's irrelevant on this offense, you're going to be playing matchups.
49:52And this is a matchup you want to play.
49:55So week one at home, I would be starting DK Metcalf.
49:58The Chicago Bears travel to Carolina to take on the Panthers.
50:02Chicago three point road favorites. The over-under is 46 and a half.
50:06Okay. Implied point total puts the Bears at 24 and a half.
50:09Carolina at 21 and a half. What is the man?
50:12Is that, you're surprised they're not favored by more or favored at all?
50:17Or what is it? No, it's, I think favored by three is strong.
50:21That's kind of a lot. That's how I felt too.
50:24I mean, if you want to say the Bears are favored, like, okay, a point, a point and a half that a
50:31full field goal is pretty surprising to me. Well, we'll see.
50:34It is a boy. It's I'm getting reminded of the Bryce young when he was traded for what equated to listen to
50:41this DJ Moore, Darnell Wright, Tyreek Stevenson, Caleb Williams and Luther Burden.
50:45That was the net. Wow. That was the net.
50:47We call that a whoopsie doozles. That is, um, man, that is, that's a franchise.
50:52That is a lot of players. Um, last year we had this Chicago bend, don't break defense that got them pretty far.
50:59Oh, it bent though. They did bend eventually. And, uh, well, can Bryce young bend it this week?
51:05He's got Ted McMillan, Jalen Coker, healthy Darren Waller.
51:07Don't forget he plays football. Yeah. Um, the Walrus himself.
51:11Boy, do we even have that anymore in the drop?
51:14Good Jew. Is he in the right Jersey? I think, uh, we probably don't.
51:18We're going to have to get that Dolphins Jersey.
51:21Just imagine it was a Panther blue. Is Bryson going to do enough this week?
51:26No. Um, I will say that every week. He honestly do enough for Ted.
51:30Cause he's Mike's star of the week. Yeah, no, he will.
51:33If he, if there's any matchup where Bryce is going to do enough, this is one of them.
51:39I think one thing I'm watching, cause we're, we're kind of using that language in week one.
51:44I'm watching for, you know, Ted McMillan and where he's lining up in this offense.
51:49And if they start to move him around more, that's exciting.
51:52Yeah. He was in the slot a decent amount, um, with preseason.
51:56Like we saw it. So that would be a huge boost if they're actually willing to move them around and not just be dumb.
52:04Odds that we are satisfied in any meaningful way by what happens in the running back room for Carolina this week.
52:10Um, no, I think it's, it's more of a.
52:13The odds are no, Jason. The odds are no.
52:16Yeah. They are no. Okay. It's, it's looking for rotation.
52:19Like, I guess, I mean, like when we get done with the day, are we like, Hey, we know what's going on or not really?
52:27I think the only way you know what's going on is if Jonathan Brooks takes control.
52:32Jonathan breakout. Yeah. Like that's the only, that would be like, Oh, holy crap.
52:36Off of, I know he, he was released by general soreness.
52:40Oh yeah. From duty. Yeah. Where tube is healthy.
52:42If, if, if they switched it in week one, that would feel like a big deal.
52:47Yeah. I really hope it's honorable. Yeah. Yes. Um, Deandre Swift is a must start.
52:52Absolutely. Great matchup Carolina 31st and yards before contact allowed.
52:55And Deandre Swift, if he knows anything, it's how to get yards before he gets hit.
53:00It is true. And, uh, we'll keep an eye on Roman duns a and the injury and whether he's a hundred percent.
53:07We, we hope so. He was limited on Wednesday.
53:10I think they expect him out there, but you know, right now it's burden Loveland, a duns a in terms of our
53:17priorities, probably Loveland burden a duns a. Yeah. That's how I would do it.
53:21Jason thoughts there. Uh, Loveland burden a duns a for sure.
53:25I think you've got to, you know, make sure you see the practices that Roma duns is practicing in full.
53:31Um, yeah. I mean with, with that injury, it's gotta be burden ahead of him.
53:36And Loveland is obviously there's no world where he's not starting cause he was, you know, pretty much a third round draft pick.
53:43Okay. We, we were ping pong in between games that we're excited about in games that are going to be interesting.
53:49Cleveland, the Browns have an implied point total of 15 and a half.
53:5315 and a half taking on the Jacksonville Jaguars.
53:56I did hit the Duval button. It didn't work.
53:59Uh, do it Mike. All right. Uh, Jacksonville 24 points implied points.
54:03So the game is only a 39 and a half over under Jacksonville.
54:07Jacksonville minus eight and a half at home. Yeah.
54:10Don't worry about that part for, for Jacksonville. Jacksonville.
54:12They won their last eight games last year. Cleveland 31st and points per game.
54:17Deshaun Watson is playing quarterback in the NFL this week.
54:20So there that's happening. Um, didn't he just get like pulled over arrested again for speeding or something yesterday?
54:26He did? I think so. I didn't see it.
54:29Yeah. I think Watson got pulled over or something.
54:32Um, maybe that was careful on your reporting here.
54:34Sighted going 86 miles an hour in a 60.
54:37Someone just saw it. Plead non guilty to the citation.
54:40This happened 19 hours ago. So you can do that.
54:43Yeah. It's pro football talk has it too. Sighted for speeding.
54:47I mean, you can, you can get pulled over going 86, 86 and a 60.
54:52And you'd be like, no, I didn't not guilty.
54:54Not guilty. Hmm. Hmm. Well, I don't think accepting guilt has really been.
54:58Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Boston.
55:02You know what? What he should be saying in court is more along the lines of, I hold myself in contempt.
55:08You know what I mean? But, uh, he's, Oh man.
55:11Uh, that it, that was it. That was that it.
55:14That was the third. Okay. We made it. Quinch on Judkins, Bay Shaw tootin at the running back spot.
55:20Both guys probably in your lineup. We'll get to watch Chris Rodriguez and maybe LaQuint Allen active and how that distribution goes.
55:27The tootin and Rodriguez of if you get down on the starters.
55:31Yeah. They're close starters. And if you get down on the eight yard line and it's C rod every time, it's going to be bad.
55:39It's going to feel real. It's yeah, it would be bad.
55:42I'm excited to watch the rookie wide receivers. I don't know if their quarterback can get them the ball, but conception Denzel Boston.
55:49That'll be exciting. Oh man. Harold fan. And that's exciting.
55:52Casey is going to be so open all the time.
55:56I can't wait for a couple of weeks from now.
55:59I, I, I still wonder if Deshaun Watson is going to come in here and target Jerry Judy the most, which will just be tremendous.
56:07Jerry Judy was very excited that Watson was named the starter.
56:10He was asked back a couple months ago who he wanted to start.
56:14And he threw up a four and that's, let me tell you this.
56:18We have a segment tomorrow because the wheel of shame is returning.
56:22And Jerry Judy has a role in that segment tomorrow.
56:25Oh yeah. I will tell you that right now.
56:28Cause there's nothing more shameful than the wheel of shame in week one and having Jerry Judy in a lineup.
56:34Which side is he going to go? Wow. So he is in a lineup.
56:38I don't know, but I don't know. I think based on seeing that, I feel like I don't know what his projection is.
56:46I don't, I don't either, but I think it goes more.
56:49Is it a disservice to our listenership to not tell you what it is ahead of time?
56:54No, you're fine. Stay tuned until tomorrow. Cause the game's not until Sunday.
56:58So there you go. Stay tuned. Stay tuned. Tomorrow's show also, I mean, even with that going on, Andy, we're not, we're
57:05not putting Jerry Judy into our season long lineups.
57:08That's a, thank you, Mike. Thank you for letting me know.
57:12I'm going to be clear on that. Um, we get to watch the Brian Thomas jr.
57:17Parker Washington, Jacoby Myers situation. This one's a huge, huge one for gathering information.
57:21So much to learn about the Jags. And then, uh, Brenton strange, you know, spot start if you need them.
57:27If you lost Brock Bowers, I mean, I'd, I'd start Brenton strange over a lot of different lower level tight ends.
57:34Probably. Yeah. If you want, since not there, Brenton strange, I think is he's an okay dart throw and play T law.
57:41Who, who's a better, uh, play Kate oughtn or Brenton strange.
57:44Cause I feel like that. I agree with you.
57:47Jwonson, uh, is the best of the probable waiver.
57:50The problem for Kate on is whenever people have been healthy, he just runs wind sprints.
57:55Like he doesn't actually get targets when, but having said that the matchup for, for Kate is so glorious in terms of,
58:02um, the defense he's against, you know, of, of where they ranked last year against the position years.
58:07And then his opponents pace of play, them moving faster, giving Tampa Bay more opportunities.
58:12It's, it's a really good spot, but I don't, I feel like I would.
58:16I probably still play Brent strange. We're going to do one more Buffalo taking on the Houston Texans in Houston, Buffalo minus
58:23one and a half on the road. I feel like that is, that's an interesting one too.
58:28Sure. Houston's a good team. Yes. Over under 44 and a half dominant defense last year, sixth against quarterbacks, giving up just
58:3512.2 fantasy points per game, but they didn't play with Josh Allen every week.
58:40Obviously, although the one time they did, they held them in check their ninth against running backs, fourth against wide receivers as well.
58:47Buffalo was the Superbowl pick for me yesterday over Detroit and Jason had Detroit over Buffalo.
58:52Yep. Yep. So, uh, Josh Allen, one and four in his career against Houston.
58:56Houston's defense is going to put pressure on him.
58:59We'll get to see DJ Moore's debut. You're going to be starting Josh Allen 99.9% of the time.
59:05James Cook. Yep. DJ Moore probably. And then, you know, I, I found myself no matter what we said, we said a
59:12lot of things about Dalton Kincaid this off season, which is ironic because him and Kyle Pitts just have this redundancy to
59:18the off season hype train where it's like, we just know how talented they are in the right situation.
59:24Right. And Dalton Kincaid, I found myself when push came to shove, came to shove in drafts.
59:30I couldn't do it. Yeah. I couldn't get myself to like, I'm, I'm just like, part of me is expecting to have
59:37week one and Dalton Kincaid is two for 21 and we're back in the same boat.
59:42And it's, you know, Khalil Shakir is active and he gets a bunch of little targets and then there's somebody else that
59:48just, I hope it's not the case. I hope Dalton Kincaid can utilize in proportion to the gifts he has.
59:55So the reason that I love Dalton Kincaid late in drafts was certainly not a probability play of he's going to be good this year.
60:02It was more of a breakout hope that if he actually plays 75% of snaps, I think he would be very good.
60:09It was a ceiling case. This game is actually a really, really good.
60:13I know it's a bad matchup in general. There won't be a ton of points here scored, but you can attack the
60:20Texans a little bit more at the tight end position than a wide receiver.
60:25They're going to need Dalton Kincaid. If Dalton Kincaid is 50% of snaps in this game, you, you, you can know right off the bat.
60:32It's not, this is not going to work. So that's what I'm watching for more than anything is basically just snap count
60:39because he's hyper efficient in his routes run. Are they involving him and running more of those routes or not?
60:46He's healthy. Hopefully he does. I don't mind anybody even if they want to have a safer play and throw in Jawan
60:52Johnson while keeping Dalton Kincaid on, on their bench.
60:55That's fine. It is Dalton V Dalton. So Dalton Schultz on the other side or Dalton Kincaid in this one.
61:02You've got the injuries at the wide receiver position for Houston, Dalton, Dalton V Dalton, Jason.
61:07And talk about two different Dalton. I mean, it's the exact in one drives, one drives like recklessly drive sports cars.
61:13The other one's a Ford tourist man. Yeah. But, but that thing is, but that thing's been running.
61:19Oh yeah. It will, it will hit 400 dude.
61:22Every hundred and forty six thousand miles on that bad dog.
61:25Every suggested service handled. Oh yeah. We are preventing any problems.
61:28I mean, if I'm an underdog, I would play Kincaid.
61:32Okay. If I'm a heavy favorite, I would play Schultz.
61:35And if it's a 50-50 matchup, I'm going to go with Dalton Kincaid.
61:39Dalton Schultz had a 19% target share last year, which is like this.
61:43That's a lot. We've for a garbage type of a fantasy tight end.
61:47You would 100% take that. And when you lose Higgins and you lose, you know, Christian.
61:52And Tangdale's not active. Kirk from last year, he will be involved.
61:56Oh man. So involved. Bad games of 10 targets.
61:58Here he comes guys. Here he comes. Eight, nine.
62:01The issue is those, you can have 10 targets with Dalton Schultz and have a bad game.
62:07Absolutely. We'll see what David Montgomery, Woody Marks breakdown looks like.
62:10Buffalo has been the run funnel type of defense.
62:13Allowed the highest yards per carry to running backs last year.
62:16Don't keep that. You know, don't just because their defense overall was pretty good against running backs.
62:2223.2 fantasy points per game given up. You could come out of week one saying a couple things.
62:27You could say that David Montgomery, we should have seen how good he was going to be.
62:32You can come out of it saying, oh my gosh, here's a perfect 50-50 timeshare and Woody Marks looks spicier, right?
62:39I mean, Montgomery's been the non-spicy choice in Detroit, but a good player.
62:43You know, what is the most likely outcome? I think the most likely outcome is you're going to see David Montgomery get a ton of work.
62:51This is... Like a Joe Mixon style situation? A Joe Mixon style thing.
62:55If you're the Houston Texans going up against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, you are going to want to control the clock.
63:02You are going to want to keep your offense out on the field, play slow, run the ball as much as you
63:09can, keep their offense off, and let your defense win.
63:12And I think that David Montgomery is going to have, you know, I would guess 65% utilization.
63:18All right, Nico Collins, play him. We'll see what Kayshawn Booty's involvement is as well.

63:34We will have the fantasy face-off for week one.
63:37And hopefully no more injury-ness. Unless it's positive. Like recovery type stuff.
63:40Yeah. Not substation stuff. You know what I mean?
63:43MRI came back, everything's good. Yeah. They're going to play in week two.
63:47Yeah. It's not going to happen. Probably not going to happen.
63:51Yeah. Latest news on Josh Jacobs, by the way, that I have is that it seems, you know, very likely that we'll
63:57have a two to six game suspension happening. We don't know how long it'll take for the NFL to finish reviewing footage and meeting with him.
64:06But I would guess that with the legal situation being wrapped up, they will expedite.
64:10The Packers will try to expedite. They will try.
64:13And I mean, I look. If it comes back and there's a two game suspension for Josh Jacobs, that is going to be a pretty.
64:21It will be a seismic shift. It will be that.
64:24Thank you. That is the way to put it.
64:27A seismic shift and where the Marshawn Lloyd truthers will live and what Jacobs implications will be now.
64:32You know, two games seems unlikely to me, but I don't know what's going on.
64:37We did get a report that Ash and Gentie is likely to play or going to play.
64:42Sorry. In week one against the Dolphins. Awesome. Nice to get a.
64:46What did I say? Some good injury. Yeah. Let's get out of here.
