25

Breece Hall

PositiveProjection44:48

The source views Breece Hall as a top-10 running back who is potentially undervalued due to the 'Jetsiness' of his team. Despite a lack of rushing touchdowns in his career, he has consistently produced over 1,350 yards from scrimmage in three seasons. The source believes the Jets' improved offensive line and skill talent could finally unlock a true explosion season.

Insight page

Brock Bowers

PositiveProjection22:24

Ben Gretsch acknowledges he might be too low on Brock Bowers, noting he is on a Hall of Fame trajectory based on his college profile. Gretsch admits he is currently fading Bowers in drafts to prioritize other positions, but fears Bowers could have a nuclear season.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

PositiveBreakout21:41

Ben Gretsch is high on Colston Loveland, placing him in the same tier as Brock Bowers and Trey McBride. He notes Loveland is a young, highly regarded prospect who closed his rookie season well and could explode in a concentrated Bears offense, especially with DJ Moore departing.

Insight page

Courtland Sutton

NegativeRole43:34

The source is concerned that Cortland Sutton is becoming 'washed' and could be phased out of the Broncos' offense. Despite Sutton playing with the first team in the preseason, the team's aggressive acquisition of other receivers like Jalen Waddle and Pat Bryant suggests a shift toward a more rotational role, putting Sutton's status as a clear WR1 at risk.

Insight page

Greg Dulcich

NegativeBust30:49

Christopher Harris expresses frustration with the lack of production from Greg Dulcich, noting he is still waiting for him to hit as a Bronco.

Insight page

J.K. Dobbins

PositiveProjection29:02

Christopher Harris prefers J.K. Dobbins over RJ Harvey for bench depth, while Ben Gretsch notes that Dobbins was playing very well before his injury last season.

Insight page

Jameson Williams

PositiveBreakout51:13

Ben Gretsch is high on Jameson Williams, ranking him as a top-20 receiver. Despite concerns that his late-season production was tied to Sam Laporta's injury, Gretsch points to his high route participation, usage in horizontal passing, and the Lions' highly concentrated offense as reasons for a breakout season.

Insight page

Javonte Williams

NegativeValue41:00

Ben Gretsch is reconsidering his fade stance on Javante Williams, noting that while his poor yards per route run last year fits a 'dead zone' bust profile, he is the clear lead back in a high-scoring offense with minimal competition after the team cut Jaden Blue and Samaje Perine. Despite concerns about his receiving ability and injury risk, he could reach 12-14 touchdowns.

Insight page
NegativeBust68:20

The source is concerned about Javonte Williams, labeling him a 'dead zone' running back candidate. Williams had poor receiving efficiency last year (below 0.5 yards per route run), which historically correlates with busts for players drafted in his range, though his ADP is currently rising.

Insight page

Jonah Coleman

NegativeProjection29:17

Christopher Harris is skeptical of Jonah Coleman, citing Matt Waldman's negative evaluation of him as the slowest back in the draft. Conversely, Ben Gretsch is higher on Coleman, noting he looked good in the preseason.

Insight page

Jonathon Brooks

NegativeProjection50:07

Jonathan Brooks is highlighted as a high-upside efficiency back with an intriguing prospect profile. However, the source notes significant injury risk and uncertainty regarding his role relative to Chuba Hubbard, who is currently racing to return from a training camp injury.

Insight page

Keaton Mitchell

PositiveSleeper47:10

Keaton Mitchell is a 'flag plant' player for the source due to his elite speed and efficiency. Despite only 59 carries last year, he led the league in 20+ mph runs. The source believes he could be a league-winning flex play if healthy, noting that the Ravens have actively chosen to feature him, unlike in previous seasons.

Insight page

Keenan Allen

NegativeProjection33:55

Ben Gretsch questions the narrative surrounding Keenan Allen's recent performance, noting that despite high targets-per-route-run metrics, Allen has not produced significant raw yardage totals over the last two years.

Insight page

Ladd McConkey

PositiveValue33:31

Ben Gretsch believes he is too low on Ladd McConkey compared to the market. While he likes the Chargers' offense, he views McConkey as a Round 5 value rather than his current Round 3 ADP, questioning the hype surrounding his target competition.

Insight page
NegativeValue34:05

The source expresses skepticism regarding Ladd McConkey's third-round ADP, citing his crowded offense with multiple tight ends, Trey Harris, and rookie Brennan Thompson. While acknowledging the potential for a rebound and the possibility that McConkey is a 'gravitational pull' talent who forces the offense to feed him, the source prefers cheaper alternatives like Parker Washington.

Insight page

MarShawn Lloyd

NegativeProjection50:07

MarShawn Lloyd is viewed as a high-upside player with a strong prospect profile. The source ranks him ahead of other Packers running backs like Chris Brooks due to his unknown ceiling, though he acknowledges the injury risk and the fact that Lloyd is becoming increasingly expensive in drafts (rounds 7-8).

Insight page
PositiveSleeper56:07

Ben Gretsch is higher on Marshawn Lloyd than the market, viewing him as a potential value in the 7th or 8th round. While acknowledging injury concerns and the uncertainty of his role behind Josh Jacobs, Gretsch suggests Lloyd could have a massive opportunity if Jacobs misses time.

Insight page

Marvin Harrison Jr.

NegativeBust58:28

The source remains skeptical of Marvin Harrison Jr., citing his underwhelming performance on film over his first two years. While acknowledging his elite collegiate pedigree and potential to be a league-breaker, the source prefers Michael Wilson, who is projected to play a high-volume, 'easy' role in the offense similar to Puka Nacua or Cooper Kupp.

Insight page

Michael Wilson

PositiveRole60:06

Michael Wilson is ranked ahead of Marvin Harrison Jr. because he is expected to fill the 'Puka/Kupp' role in the offense, involving motion and slot work that generates easy, high-frequency targets. The source believes Wilson offers a higher floor for fantasy production.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveValue35:52

Parker Washington is identified as a superior value compared to Ladd McConkey. The source views Washington as a strong bet in a productive passing game who is currently being drafted significantly later than McConkey, despite similar upside potential.

Insight page

Rashee Rice

NegativeValue59:34

The source notes that Rashee Rice is being drafted aggressively in some high-stakes formats, with one recent draft seeing him go in the second round.

Insight page

RJ Harvey

NegativeUsage29:02

Christopher Harris is drafting RJ Harvey as a flex or bench running back but expresses concern about the uncertainty of the Broncos' backfield. He notes Harvey struggled as a runner but has been utilized in the passing game.

Insight page

Trey McBride

PositiveProjection22:24

Ben Gretsch highlights Trey McBride's elite 2023 performance, noting he broke the position with 50 more targets and 100 more PPR points than any other tight end.

Insight page

Tyler Warren

PositiveValue21:59

Christopher Harris and Ben Gretsch both view Tyler Warren as a strong tight end target. Harris explicitly ranks Warren higher than Colston Loveland, noting that Warren was productive from Week 1 of his rookie season, whereas Loveland's production was heavily skewed by two late-season plays.

Insight page

Xavier Worthy

PositiveValue58:36

Ben Gretsch remains optimistic about Xavier Worthy, noting that he is currently very cheap in drafts. Despite previous concerns about his ranking, Gretsch believes Worthy is a necessary target because someone needs to catch passes for the Chiefs alongside Rashee Rice and Travis Kelce.

0:00It's the Harris Fantasy Football Podcast with your host Christopher Harris.
0:03Hey everybody, welcome in. My name is Chris and this is a show that's a publishing empire.
0:09Hi everybody, thank you so much for listening. Happy September 1st.
0:12Somebody play that dang song. It's a hard word for Harris to say, yeah.
0:16Oh that's right, Cumulative Press actually has books for sale.
0:19My novel, Pound Foolish, is out there in the world.
0:22Hell, play the other song! Cumulative, that's what I want to say!
0:26This incredibly stupid journey, I guess, actually begins today as Pound Foolish is ready to rock in most formats, even though for
0:33this week until basically like next Monday, I would strongly prefer that you not buy it on Amazon.
0:38Kind of a good policy in general. Amazon is not amazing for the world in several ways, but until September 7th, if
0:45you plan on buying it, buy it everywhere but on Amazon.
0:48That's what helps for the silly goal of trying to make it a bestseller.
0:52If you buy it on Amazon, that doesn't help.
0:55It's probably not going to happen anyway, but if there's any chance, it's going to be with non-Amazon sales.
1:01The audiobook actually won't be available on Amazon until next week anyway, but those are small details.
1:06Anyone who gets Pound Foolish has my great thanks.
1:09I worked real hard on that book. And I am burying the lead because I saw on social media yesterday that people
1:15had actually started getting their paperback copies in the mail.
1:18Their pre-orders came a day early. That brought up a whole different level of excitement for me.
1:24And also maybe a little nausea. Wait, you mean after all this, after this entire spring and summer, these months of figuring
1:30out how you publish one of these things, all the tiny little details, hundreds of them that were driving me crazy.
1:37Oh, now you mean people are going to actually read it and decide if they like it.
1:42That's right, Harris. That is how it works. And I'm excited.
1:45If I could just be honest, I'm also honestly just terrified.
1:49Not joking. Fully terrified. Because like nobody else has been working on it.
1:53It's just been me. All the other books, like someone else was doing the publishing and going, don't worry, this is good.
1:59Nobody has said that to me. And yeah, I'm actually quite terrified, but it's exciting too.
2:04So you can still get bribed until the end of the week.
2:08I would love it if you order the book from anywhere but Amazon and send me a screenshot.
2:13We still have four more days of bribery, including today, culminating in Friday when I'm picking the true grand prize winner at random.
2:20Someone who will join me on the podcast for a few minutes next week.
2:24I still have Zooms to give away this week if you want to talk to me one-on-one before your draft this weekend.
2:31Today we're going to give away some Harris football merch.
2:34All you have to do is order the book and send a screen cap to heyharris at harrisfootball.com.
2:40And if you are near Los Angeles and you want to come meet me tonight, Tuesday, September 1st at 7pm, I will be at Frogtown Brewery.
2:48It's going to be a beautiful day, a beautiful evening, and I will be there with, hopefully, some other yacht possums.
2:54I will read a couple of sections from the book, and then we'll just hang out.
2:59You can get a hard copy right then, and I can sign it for you.
3:03Or if you pre-ordered and you have the book coming, I have a way to get a signature for that as well that I can give you tonight.
3:12Plus we can all just hang out. I know it can feel weird if you come alone to a thing like that,
3:19but a thing that I learned from last week when I did a bunch of these is that almost everybody, I think
3:25probably everybody who came alone to one of the events had a little social anxiety to start with because it's weird to
3:32show up somewhere where you don't know anybody, but they eventually had a great time and made a bunch of friends and
3:39met folks who listened to the show. People were spontaneously starting new fantasy leagues.
3:43Maybe one of those will crop up tonight. I think Brandon Funston got entered into one of those with the awesome Tacoma people that we met.
3:51So even if it feels weird or awkward for a couple of minutes, come along.
3:55I really do think you'll have fun. This is the last reading I'm doing that I know of for a while anyway.
4:02Would be great if it was a nice crowd.
4:05What do you think, LA? Can you topple Portland as the highest attended reading?
4:09Only one way to find out, 7 p.m. at Frogtown Brewery.
4:12And if you have already gotten your copy of Pound Foolish, did I mention that I'm nervous?
4:18Yeah, I'm real nervous. I hope you like it.
4:20I truly hope you like it. Like I said, it's hard to remember.
4:24Oh yeah, that's right. That's the whole point. People are going to read it now.
4:29That whole part of the equation doesn't really occur to you when you're doing all the rest of it.
4:35These months. When did I start? I mean, March?
4:37April? Oh my God. If you have gotten your copy, if you start to give it a read, take a screenshot.
4:44Send it to me on your social media platform of choice.
4:47I will retweet it or reskeet it. I think that does help if people see other people actually in possession of the book and maybe even reading it.
4:56Hey, if you're reading it and there's a passage that you like, feel free to quote it and go, wow.
5:02Or, you know, like people do. You could take a picture of a section that you like.
5:07Also send it to me. Tag me on social media.
5:10I'll retweet it or reskeet it and hopefully it helps people discover the book.
5:14If you see me on social media promoting the book and your tendency is to like it, retweet.
5:20For the next few days, if you see me saying something about the book and you want to help it all, retweet.
5:26Likes are great. You can do both. But reskeet, retweet.
5:29And I know. I know that some of the people listening do not give two craps about any of this book talk.
5:36Hey, I saw you post on Reddit. Reddit, you think I talk way too much about other things.
5:42Where's the football? But today, for the intro, you're just going to have to deal with it.
5:47It was a pretty big day in my life, to be honest.
5:50You know, that guy, his show's pretty good. But sometimes he just talks about his writing and I do not give two craps about his writing.
5:58You know, judging by how many people pre-ordered the book or even asked for a free copy, I guess most of the people listening feel that way.
6:07But sorry, again, for one day. The intro is about the writing.
6:10There will be plenty of football here after the intro in just a minute.
6:14I should mention I am putting a sample chapter into the podcast feed today from the audiobook.
6:20So if you listen to that, maybe you want the audiobook.
6:23You can order that anywhere but Amazon. And I think pretty much get it today.
6:28That usually, don't audiobooks just immediately show up? So that's kind of fun.
6:32I'll put links in the show notes of that sample chapter.
6:35It's like 35 minutes worth of the book. I think it's a good chapter.
6:39So that should show up in your feed here in a couple hours as well.
6:44So yeah, I'm just going to admit I'm very, very nervous to the point where I didn't sleep last night.
6:50But I'm sure I'll be extremely clear-headed for all I have to do today and the reading tonight.
6:55It's a big day. And I'm so appreciative for everyone supporting this foolish endeavor of Pound Foolish.
7:00I love you. Thank you very much. Today's kickoff.
7:03Okay, on today's show, there is an NFL season coming up next week, right?
7:07Hey, Harris, your stuff is okay, but only when you stick to fantasy.
7:11I just fast forward through the rest. Cool, cool, cool, cool, dude I just made up in my head.
7:17I think you're going to like the last 51 minutes of today's show.
7:21Because Ben Gretsch is coming on the little podcast that could.
7:24And Ben and I are going to talk about players we acknowledge.
7:28You know what? We have assumptions baked into our ranks because of course we do.
7:33You know, I try to make situations matter as little as possible, but they influence us a little bit.
7:38And what if we're wrong about specific players? It's a chance to reflect on things we can't really be sure about before the season starts.
7:46We might even be wrong about. And those topics are coming your way.
7:50I thank you again so much for listening today.
7:53We are sponsored again this season by Chubbies. You may know we have a long relationship with Chubbies on the podcast.
7:59And not because they were always a sponsor. Cousin Josh has loved Chubbies forever.
8:03I was giving him gift certificates for Chubbies before the show ever even existed.
8:08I have like three Chubbies bathing suits. This is awesome stuff.
8:11And their NFL collection is back. I just gave my dad another Patriots team polo for his birthday because he loved the first one so much.
8:19You can get mesh shorts with your favorite team's logo and swim trunks too.
8:23They're comfortable. They are supportive. It's up to you what inseam you like.
8:27Cousin Josh likes them short. You can get them short.
8:30You can get them really comfortable. And for the new NFL season it is a perfect gift or a gift to yourself.
8:37I know you'll love them. For a limited time I can get you $20 off your full price purchase at chubbiesshorts.com when you use the code Harris.
8:45That's code Harris at chubbiesshorts.com and that includes the NFL Chubbies collection.
8:49Get that game day wardrobe looking great. $20 off chubbiesshorts.com code Harris.
8:52Today's guest. And today's guest is Ben Gretsch from the Stealing Signals newsletter.
8:56You can find him just look on your social media platform of choice for Ben Gretsch.
9:01You're here. I'm distracted. How are you Ben? I'm great.
9:04Yeah. It's an exciting day. The book launched today right?
9:07Yeah. Yes sir. We were just talking. You've had a copy for a while because you're a trusted friend of the show
9:14and it is not the greatest time for reading but it will be part of your off season reading regimen.
9:20And hopefully you and everybody else will enjoy it.
9:23Oh my god. I have so much angst over whether that's the case.
9:27People are going to, you know, the emperor's new clothes so to speak.
9:31But, you know, at some point you just put these things out in the world and forget about the thousands of thousands
9:37of hours that go into making them. Yeah. I mean, it's all you can do at this point.
9:43You're telling me you've done some readings in some different cities and a lot of travel to promote.
9:48I think that's really cool and I'm excited to hear how well it goes.
9:53I'm sure it's going to be awesome. Thanks. Yeah.
9:55The big one is tonight in LA. We're going to see if the LA people can show up.
10:01You know, I don't know. LA, notoriously a little bit flaky.
10:04We'll see if the people show up and beat Portland.
10:07Portland is the current record holder for the number of people who came to a reading and then hung out with me after.
10:14All right. Well, so let's not talk about that anymore so I can focus on something else.
10:19You've done this list with me. I think this is the third year in a row where you come on and we
10:26get to doubt everything we've built up in our minds, our mind palaces, as it were.
10:31You know, you construct this ornate vision of what the season is going to be and you give advice for fantasy based
10:38on that vision and you kind of talk about the NFL based on, oh, well, this is probably how things are going to go.
10:45And then, of course, week one happens and somebody throws a rock and your mind palace does, in fact, shatter.
10:51And so this is an opportunity to like almost do a mea culpa beforehand.
10:55You get to just go, you know, I built this assumption into a lot of how I've talked about it.
11:01But if I'm wrong and it's sports and sometimes you're just wrong about predicting sports, then here's how it might go wrong.
11:08It's the players we might be wrong about list.
11:11When you received the assignment, did you have any thoughts?
11:14I remember doing it the last couple of years.
11:17I think I had stronger opinions the last couple of years, so I guess my thoughts were that it was going to
11:23be a little more difficult because I think we're just at such a fascinating place with the NFL right now.
11:29There's a lot of uncertainty going into this year with just all the formational stuff and the ways that the league is evolving on a macro level.
11:38And so I think it's yeah, I think it's a really fascinating one.
11:41I have a couple that I kind of grouped some some players together, so I kind of cheated a little.
11:48But I have a main guy for each point and then I might throw in some other names for you.
11:54Cheating is encouraged. Cheating is let's face it in the end.
11:57This is just about coming up with an excuse to talk about players and you'll probably name some players.
12:03We've talked extensively about but it's awesome to hear your opinion.
12:06And then I tried to come up with just names that I feel like I haven't gone on and on about over the course of the month.
12:14And a hundred percent. I mean, I would I would argue that every year is like this every year is its own complete.
12:21I mean, what other sports what other sports league are we positive that half the playoff teams from the previous year aren't going to make it?
12:29We don't know which half, but it happens every single year like the NFL, as I say, reinvents itself.
12:35So very well said by you. I completely agree.
12:38So this is a very important countdown. We have to go five through one.
12:42It's obviously a pointless countdown. It does not matter the order at all, but it matters so much.
12:48What's your number five player you might be wrong about for 2026?
12:51Oh, I love the countdown thing because I guess I kind of put it in a countdown.
12:56So it's good. So the first one I'm going to say is Colston Loveland.
13:01I might be too high on Colston Loveland. I have him in the same tier with Brock Bowers and Trey McBride.
13:07And because he goes a little bit later, I often find myself waiting.
13:11I like taking the early tight ends. And so this is the first one where I'm going to throw another guy in there, which is Tyler Warren.
13:19I think both of those young guys are pretty interesting.
13:22And I like taking an early tight end this year because I'm not as high on a lot of the mid-round guys.
13:29And so from a lot of my drafts, like strategically, because I'm pretty high on Loveland and I think of Warren as
13:36sort of a fallback that's a tier below for me, but still a very interesting target in the early rounds.
13:42I am not taking a ton of Brock Bowers.
13:44I'm not taking a ton of Trey McBride, who just broke the position last year, had 50 more targets than anyone else
13:51and 100 more PPR points than anyone else. And Bowers is this guy that I still think is sort of on a Hall of Fame trajectory.
13:59And I think these guys are obviously he's barely played, but that's you know, I do think he's got this insane profile
14:06for how his career will go when you look back to college and some of those things.
14:11So Loveland's also really interesting in that regard. He was a really good, well, a highly regarded prospect.
14:16First round pick was a 21 year old rookie last year and really close the season well into the playoffs and at the end of the regular season.
14:25And I think he could really explode for what I think is going to be a concentrated Bears offense.
14:31And so I'm taking more of the running backs and receivers where Bowers and McBride go because that's, you know, you want to get those guys.
14:39Those are stars at the other positions pushing down the early tight end decision.
14:43But now I'm really worried that like, you know, Brock Bowers could just have this nuclear season and all of these things.
14:49So and then if Loveland doesn't take a big year two step, we obviously see young guys, especially at a position like
14:56tight end where the development is not really linear.
14:59So that's a tricky one that I'm putting a lot into with a lot of my different teams.
15:04Yeah, man. I mean, I don't take tight ends probably where any of those guys go.
15:09I'm usually waiting for someone middle and later. It's a really good one to bring up.
15:14I'm on the other side of it. And it's not like I don't like Colston Loveland.
15:19I think he could be really, really good. I'll break this down into two ways of approaching this.
15:24And again, like we're not arguing. We're mostly just saying, hey, like we might be wrong.
15:29Like we're just kind of trying to sift through our own feelings about players.
15:34First of all, the gap between Loveland and Tyler Warren seems weird to me.
15:38I actually have Warren higher. Just like Loveland saved himself with basically two plays.
15:42You know, there's the week nine against the Bengals.
15:45The one like the miracle play that somehow the Bears win that game have no.
15:49But like he caught the pass to get into the winning field goal range.
15:54And I think the defense was like instructed not to tackle him.
15:57So he has this huge long touchdown. And then week 17 against the Niners, the entire defense jumps off sides.
16:03And then half of them didn't play the down.
16:06And he goes and scores a 36-yard touchdown. As of week 16, he was the tight end 18.
16:12And he finishes at nine because of that basically that one play.
16:15And I love the guy. I think he's really good.
16:18I just think you're right. He saved himself, but maybe it wasn't the most repeatable thing.
16:23And I just compare it to Warren and I go, I treat them like side by side.
16:28And I'm going to guess that you don't hear me say that treating Warren and Loveland side by side is some massive sin.
16:35No, not at all. I really like Warren too, like I was saying.
16:39Yeah. The Loveland thing is just he's a little younger.
16:42And so it's more that year two could be a step forward and kind of where the offense is with DJ Moore leaving and stuff.
16:50But I mean, I agree with you. Yeah, there wasn't like it's certainly a progression forward there.
16:55Last year's production was, you know, mostly all very late.
16:58And I was nodding along as you're talking about the two big plays.
17:02The Bengals one was huge for his efficiency in year one.
17:05And, you know, late in the season, his routes did spike late in the year and he was getting used more.
17:12And so I'm hoping some of that carries over.
17:15But no, I'm with you. Early in the offseason, I was like, Warren was good from like week one on.
17:21He was good all of his rookie year. So I'm with you.
17:24I think they're both really exciting. Right. And and Jones got hurt.
17:28And that, you know, we're looking at tight end three or something at a Warren if Jones doesn't get hurt.
17:34But then again, I could have easily put on this list.
17:37What if I'm too low on Colson Loveland? I absolutely could have done that.
17:42So my number five on this list, I I'm drafting RJ Harvey and J.K.
17:46Dobbins here and there in and to be not starters, you know, to be either a flex or even maybe like a first bench running back.
17:54And I'm kind of just ignoring Jonah Coleman a little bit.
17:57You're you're very much more into the rookies than I am.
18:01Matt Waldman has come on the show and said, yeah, don't worry about Jonah Coleman.
18:05He stinks. And he's I think he called him the slowest running back in the in the draft.
18:11But what if I'm wrong? What if I'm drafting RJ Harvey and J.K.
18:15And I prefer Dobbins to Harvey. But both of them go later than I'm willing to pick them.
18:20So depending on just when I'm picking and what else I've already picked, I will take them and be like, cool.
18:26You know, things break right. I think I could wind up with someone I can use all year.
18:32But what if they're both useless? What if every touchdown goes to Jonah Coleman?
18:36And I acknowledge that I don't really know anything about rookies.
18:39I'm kind of relying on Matt's evaluation. And I think Sean Payton's a big old liar.
18:44I think he just, you know, his whole career, he just pumps everybody up.
18:49I'm still waiting for Greg Dulcich to really hit as a Bronco.
18:52But I could be wrong about all this. Yeah, that's a really tricky backfield.
18:57I think the Broncos are an underrated team by the market.
19:00Like their win totals and stuff. I think they're better than people give them credit for.
19:05People were always really pretty skeptical when they wound up with the one seed last year, it seemed like.
19:11And then obviously they lose the AFC Championship without Bo Nix.
19:14But they could have been in the Super Bowl.
19:17They could have potentially won the Super Bowl last year.
19:20And there's a, you know, they get overshadowed by the Chargers a little.
19:24And obviously the Chiefs are in their division. But I think the Broncos are one of the better teams in the league.
19:30So I think there's going to be touchdowns here.
19:33And kind of the way you were parsing it is intriguing.
19:36It's tough for me to figure out as well.
19:39I'm probably a little higher on Jonah Coleman. I'm a University of Washington grad.
19:43So I'm maybe a little biased here. But I think he's a pretty intriguing player.
19:48I thought he looked good in the preseason. And then Dobbins was really good last year, though, as well.
19:54Like before he got hurt, he was really, really good.
19:57Harvey struggled as a runner. But they've thrown to him a bunch.
20:00I mean, this backfield, I think, is going to be challenging to get right.
20:05And maybe evolve throughout the year the way that it goes.
20:08So I'm with you. I think that's a really tricky one.
20:11All right. What's your number four? I will go to Ladd McConkie, who I have as I may be too low.
20:18I do really like the Chargers offense. But I think Ladd McConkie, who's going in like round three in a lot of
20:24these leagues, for me is more like a round five-ish guy.
20:28He was not as good last year, right? And everyone says sort of like Keenan Allen being there was a big part of it.
20:35Or I hear that a lot that, you know, Keenan Allen had a really good targets per outrun.
20:41And when he was on the field, he was taking targets from Ladd.
20:45And I hear that. But also, you know, Keenan's pretty old.
20:48Keenan didn't even have 800 yards last year. And he didn't the year prior with the Bears.
20:53People are kind of talking about Keenan. He's really good for most of his career.
20:58But they're talking about him because of like per outrun numbers the last couple years.
21:02And I'd just like to emphasize that, you know, he hasn't even had that much raw production over the last two years
21:09in these offenses where he's sort of taken work from other guys that are supposed to be really good.
21:15Ladd had the really strong rookie year. It's pretty concerning to me that he took kind of a big step back in
21:21year two and that they have a lot of other options.
21:25I don't mind taking him. I don't mind betting on the rebound in that year two was sort of the down year.
21:31And that's where I'm kind of afraid I'm wrong because I do think this offense could be really fun with Mike McDaniel,
21:38but they have a lot of options. They're going to use multiple tight ends.
21:42They have Trey Harris. They drafted the rookie Brennan Thompson.
21:45I think they're going to use the running backs in the past game a good amount like McDaniel did in Miami.
21:52So there's a bunch of stuff that for me, I think lads, I compare him to like Parker Washington who goes a
21:58little later is like the probably the best bet in a crowded, but good passing game.
22:03One that we expect a lot of production out of and Parker Washington's been kind of a hype guy for a lot
22:10of people, but he's going meaningfully behind Ladd McConkie.
22:13I guess I don't understand the premium on Ladd where I'm seeing him go in the third round a lot and haven't really been drafting him.
22:21I'm worried that I'm overthinking sort of his last two years and that the Chargers offense could just be so good that
22:27he winds up having a great year. I'm on the same side of this one as you.
22:32I tend to be a little bit behind the market on McConkie and I hear you about like the too many mouths
22:39to feed, but I always find that to be I can I can invent mouths for almost any team.
22:45Do you know what I mean? Like every team has options and it comes down to OK, but is this one guy
22:52just a transcendent enough player that that he's JSN?
22:54I mean, that's extreme, but you know, it just becomes the gravitational pull of their talent is so overwhelming that the offense
23:01kind of has no choice but to bend his way a little bit more a little bit more a little bit more
23:08and suddenly, you know, the we're the line between various receivers is so fine that you're just trying to come up with distinctions.
23:15And I think maybe where you and I are both coming down to is like, yeah, a lot of stuff went wrong
23:21with the Chargers last year and maybe it wasn't a fair test of anybody because they just couldn't block anybody after September.
23:28But can you and I wrap our heads around the idea that McConkie is that guy who is a gravitational pull, a
23:35bend guy, a guy who's just so overwhelming that eventually doesn't matter how many mouths you're still just needing to throw him the ball.
23:42And I'm kind of with you that he's good.
23:45He's real good, but he's like a real particular kind of good.
23:49And if you know, like he's a slot player and he's the best receiver on that team.
23:54But is he like so overwhelmingly talented that like I'm going to say, you know, there Scott Pianowski came on the show
24:00yesterday and kind of like as an aside mentioned that he couldn't draft McConkie enough.
24:05He's got him everywhere. And like that could be right.
24:08We could be misremembering McConkie from his rookie year and thinking that last year is the full representation of his talent and we just might be wrong.
24:16I totally agree. I think you put that really, really well.
24:20The upside case about him being that good to bend everything sort of his way is something that I see as possible.
24:26But like I said, I just think it should be a cheaper bet to make than the market lets me in most of my drafts.
24:34Like DJ Moore is another one that is similar.
24:37I brought the Parker Washington. Like I have him ranked by those guys.
24:41They go quite a bit later than McConkie and I don't see it real like significant reason for that.
24:46And so that's where I have a hard time taking that, but it doesn't mean that I can't.
24:52That's why it's on this list. It doesn't mean that I can't be wrong for exactly the reasons you said.

26:04We're back with Ben. We are talking, we're expressing self-doubt on a day of great self-doubt for me personally.
26:09We're also expressing it professionally. We're talking about players that we might be wrong about.
26:14I got another Bronco for number four. What if Cortland Sutton is just washed enough that the signals the Broncos sent by
26:21trading for Jalen Waddell and talking up Pat Bryant and drafting all these receivers the latest, you know, couple years?
26:27Maybe this is a signal that Sutton's last year in Denver just isn't going to be as involved.
26:32It's not like I have Sutton super high. It's not like you really have to draft him to be a fantasy starter,
26:39which is kind of more comfortable for Cortland Sutton because, you know, that's last year.
26:43Suddenly everybody's like, oh, he's really good. Let's take him as a starter, you know, and it worked out.
26:49It was good. But he is teetering. He's reaching that point.
26:53We haven't seen a fade yet, but, you know, he kind of goes in the like 90 or so in drafts, which is I have them above there.
27:01So I get them some, but I definitely acknowledge that it could just suddenly come crashing to a halt.
27:07And if it does, it's going to be easy to say, well, there were breadcrumbs and Harris was dumb and didn't listen to them.
27:14Yeah, this is one where I'm on the other side.
27:17It sounds like you're kind of in. I'm probably following those breadcrumbs more, so I have him ranked pretty low.
27:23The Pat Bryant stuff, especially in addition to obviously the Waddle stuff.
27:27But in the preseason, they were playing Sutton with the first team.
27:31They were throwing to him just like normal, the same old role as always.
27:35I guess I'm a little concerned that, you know, he's getting a little bit long in the tooth.
27:40He's not old or anything, but that he's going to kind of start to get phased out a little more where he's
27:47been sort of the clear number one the last couple of years in routes and some of those things.
27:53But Peyton likes to do the rotational stuff. We talked about it at running back.
27:57And my concern is that, you know, Waddle and Brian and some of those guys will make it more rotational this year.
28:04So it'll certainly be an interesting one. Wide receiver 10 two years ago, wide receiver 12 last year.
28:10And he goes as wide receiver 30-something now. And I'm willing to take the chance.
28:14You know, again, I don't need him as a fantasy starter.
28:17Borderline, you know, 90. If you pick him at 90, that might be a flex for you, but maybe not too.
28:24So I'm still in, but completely understand what could go wrong.
28:27Who would be number three on this list for you?
28:30So this is one where I'm going to grab a couple names and cheat.
28:35But my headline name will be Keaton Mitchell. I've been pretty in on him.
28:39People that have been reading my work know that I've been in on him.
28:43He only had like 59 carries last year. And if you look at the NFL Pro database with their player tracking stuff,
28:50they have a stat for how often players hit 15-plus miles per hour and hit 20-plus miles per hour as ball carriers.
28:56He hit 20-plus miles per hour, a league leading, I believe it was seven times on the 59 carries.
29:02And that's not like as a percentage. That's raw amount of times that he hit that number.
29:07So behind him were Jonathan Taylor and Jameer Gibbs tied at six.
29:11And then I think Devon Achan, who he's often compared to, was at five.
29:15Those guys had hundreds of carries. So it's kind of just a little interesting stat on him.
29:20If you go back to his East Carolina days, he actually was able to carry the workload a little bit.
29:27But the big thing for me is kind of the Achan pattern matching under Mike McDaniel, where McDaniel threw to Achan a
29:33lot, used him in space as maybe just the most obsessed with speed coach there is.
29:38And maybe the best coordinator at utilizing speed in space.
29:41So I've thought that he might have a plan for him.
29:44We've seen some camp videos where they've used him as like a, they've been throwing deep to him.
29:50They've used him as like a vertical, like split him out wide and then just have him run a go route when
29:57they put a linebacker out there and then throw him a bomb.
30:00But he got banged up. And so part of the reason I would say that this is a group one is I'm
30:07also going to throw in Jonathan Brooks, Marshawn Lloyd, two other guys that I'm probably too high on for health related reasons.
30:14Those guys also have really intriguing profiles to me from like a longer view perspective.
30:18Brooks and Lloyd both had really good prospect profiles and Mitchell's was underrated.
30:22And I think he's, he's not just all flash.
30:25I think there's more to Mitchell than people realize, but he's had a hard time standing healthy the last couple of years.
30:32And then obviously Brooks and Lloyd have too. And so there's these three kind of high upside efficiency backs, really intriguing profiles
30:38to me that I'm drafting, but I'm also like, what are the odds that all three of these guys play a full healthy season?
30:46It seems low. What are the odds that, that one of them stays healthy for the whole season?
30:51It still seems pretty low. So I'm, I'm definitely worried that I'm bypassing some injury risk at a position that has had
30:58lower injury rates in the last few years as hip drop tackles.
31:01And some of those things have been out of the, out of the game.
31:06Maybe these guys can stay healthy now, but that's probably where I'm going to be wrong.
31:11I mean, so people are rolling their eyes cause they know how I feel about Keaton Mitchell.
31:16He's a flag player. That's a good thing on this show.
31:19Um, he, I picked basically 10 players at various spots in the draft whose ADP I think is too low.
31:25And I say, these are the guys I'm making a stand on, planning a flag on saying they're good.
31:31And Keaton Mitchell, it makes the list this year.
31:34And he's been a favorite of mine for a long time.
31:37I fully agree what he looks like on film is awesome.
31:40And he's also of the three backs you mentioned, like by far the cheapest, which is terrific because I mean, I, I
31:47grant you the ceiling for a player like Lloyd, a player like Brooks, bigger players.
31:52It is higher because they can just be suddenly they get hot.
31:55They work out. We've never really seen them play.
31:58Suddenly they are a team's bell cow 300 touch back and probably Keaton Mitchell, maybe never going to be that.
32:04But, uh, like you said, you know, you're the, we suspect the chargers could have a good offense that sometimes is wrong.
32:11We don't always predict that great, but if it, if they do, and Mike McDaniel gets it, gets it humming, getting pieces
32:17of it ancillary or only quasi ancillary is awesome policy.
32:21And then, you know, this dude in particular is just a home run hitter.
32:25And as a flex, he's like a dream, you know, get, if he's, if he hits his ceiling and stays healthy six
32:31times a year, he could win you a game because he just makes an 80 yard play like that is not on the table for Marshawn Lloyd probably.
32:40So, um, yeah, I'm, I, I, I almost wonder like, you can't really be that scared about the investment needed to get Mitchell.
32:47Cause he's, he goes so late. Yeah. I mean, it's more just the amount of teams that have taken him on.
32:53I feel like if something does happen bad to a season, there's yeah.
32:57Yeah. There's a hole there. I, I I'm yeah.
33:00I'm just worried. I'm just worried because I haven't ranked really aggressively and a lot of the ceiling signal subscribers are going
33:07to be drafting him and he's not a big back and it's really just an injury related thing, but I'm glad to
33:13hear that you're, you know, he's a flag plant player for you too.
33:17And we're on the same page there that I was smiling as you were saying that I, I just think it's fairly
33:24straightforward that if he stays healthy and he's a part of the offense, he's going to be a pretty impactful player at his cost.
33:31Like you said. Yeah. He, he like, yeah, if he's healthy and we, and, and like gets as involved as we hope,
33:38because finally a team has kind of actively chosen him as opposed to, and like give the Ravens credit, you know, he's hurt a ton.
33:46And the end of last year, he was the backup justice Hill was hurt and wasn't playing anyway.
33:51And so, but, but, you know, a team has aggressively gone out and said, we want this player.
33:57The interesting questions is what to do with the Lloyd and Brooks and Brooks has the complication of Chuba Hubbard.
34:03Obviously that's something that we're just simply not going to know the mix until we know, but Hubbard did get hurt in
34:09training camp and is in a race to get to week one.
34:13Lloyd, you know, it is all out in front for Lloyd.
34:16I, you know, who knows, it's hard. Don't even know if he's any good kind of like you liked him as a prospect.
34:23That's cool. Chris Brooks is, you know, nice, reliable player.
34:26And I wouldn't be shocked if Chris Brooks is very involved, at least to begin, because it seems like he's, he's the big veteran in the room, right?
34:35But he's the, he's, he can settle it down.
34:38He's very good in pass protection. And then Caleb Johnson, we think stinks, but who knows?
34:43I'm certainly ranking Lloyd ahead of those guys almost for the unknown of it.
34:47And, and he could be a league winning type player and you are starting to have to really pay real draft capital to get them too.
34:55Right. Sorry, I was muted. Yes. Yeah. He's going like into like the round seven and eight range in some of these drafts.
35:02Yeah, that's expensive. All right. My number three is I'm not in on him and I have never been in on him, but what if Marv Jr.
35:10is for real this time? Once again, if you choose to be in on Marvin Harrison, you tell your, you will wind
35:17up telling yourself the story that it was a bad play caller.
35:20It was a bad coaching staff. He himself was unbelievably snake bitten right before he finally was looking like he was good.
35:27His appendix becomes a problem and he has to miss a month for that.
35:31And then both of his heels go bad last year.
35:34And if he's suddenly the player that everybody thought he was when he was generational two years ago, uh, then I'm completely missing out.
35:42And he's, you know, that, that profile of the player that he was supposed to be is like a potential 1800 yard
35:48receiver, a dude who will break fantasy leagues. And if I'm missing out on that because of like my stubborn, I'll say
35:55my stubborn adherence to what he's actually looked like on film so far, um, then I'm going to miss a potential league breaking player.
36:02You know, I'm ranking Michael Wilson ahead of him by, uh, but they're next to each other, my ranks, but Michael Wilson doesn't have 1800 upside.
36:10And so it may just be foolish that I'm not giving Harrison a chance, like figuring into his probability matrix, the pot,
36:17the, the X percent chance that the first two years are kind of like, just throw them away.
36:22And now he will be a focal point and he has upside to be the best receiver in the league.
36:28I haven't seen it yet. Doesn't mean it's impossible, but my rank is sort of indicating it's not possible.
36:34I agree with, and I'm playing it the same as essentially everything you've just said.
36:39We were a lot more agreement on, on this show and this year than, than maybe we have been in the past,
36:45but I moved Wilson ahead of him after the first or the second preseason game.
36:50Their first one was the hall of fame game, but they got the first team out there and Wilson Harrison caught a touchdown in that game.
36:58And I saw that as the big headline, but I go and watch all the preseason games too.
37:03You talked about how we both really like to actually watch the games and something that we've always enjoyed talking about.
37:10It's pretty important. He did catch a TD. He did look pretty good on that play on that drive.
37:16Wilson had two really easy catches. One was the kind of sprint out.
37:20Cause he comes in and he inserts as the blocker in that Rams scheme, you know, the floor comes over from McVay.
37:26They've said that he's going to play sort of Wilson, the Puka slash, you know, previously Cooper cup role.
37:32And so he will motion in and inside the line insert as a blocker.
37:36And, and then off of that, they'll have emotion in and then run straight to the flat and do that kind of sprint out easy catch play.
37:45They've done with the Rams a million times. You've seen Puka do it.
37:48You've seen cup do it. Wilson had a catch like that on the first drive, had another catch.
37:54And I was like, Oh, he's going to play that role.
37:57And one of like you, you'll, you'll know, you'll know this too.
38:01Obviously when you actually watch the games, you see how those easy plays compile over a season and that's how you get
38:08the production for fantasy Harrison stuff has been hard to this point in his career.
38:12It's been on the outside, on the perimeter, down the field.
38:16It's. And then when you watch him like, but I'm right with you, like the profile collegiate profile was really good.
38:22Top five draft capital pedigree, obviously his dad. I mean, everything you can put there and he hasn't been good the first
38:29couple of years, but he hasn't been horrible statistically necessarily.
38:32He's been bad relative to expectations, but like, for example, he had similar yards per game the last two years that lad McConkie had last year.
38:40I had a better rookie year, but they're both year three guys and Harrison had way more draft capital and stuff.
38:46So it's interesting to think about their ADP gap from that perspective.
38:50They both were about 50 yards per game last year, but watching Harrison, it's, as you said, I just don't see it.
38:56I don't see. player sometimes. And on paper, the profile is really good, but I can't buy it because of what I've watched.
39:03And I'm just like, I don't think he's great.
39:06And then the Wilson side of it, as I was laying, you know, laying out, it actually looks like a really good
39:13fit for this offense and getting a lot of that easy work.
39:16And like you said, he's not going to be a 1800 yard receiver, but I think he's going to compile plenty of, you know, easy, cheap catches.
39:25And so I ended up moving him ahead. I think there's a higher floor with Wilson, maybe not as high of a ceiling as you were laying out.
39:33But anyway, I agree completely. I sort of just restated it all, but I'm right there with you.
39:39We are sponsored again today by FitBod. If you'd like to get in better shape, I recommend the FitBod app.
39:45It was so nice. Someone in Phoenix came up to me after the reading last week and said, hey, what's that app you're always talking about?

40:50That's F-I-T-B-O-D.me slash Harris. FitBod.me slash Harris. We are back with Ben and we've got a few more names to get to
40:56on players we could be wrong about. Who's your number two, Ben?
41:00I'm going to do Javante Williams. I'm worried I'm a little bit low on him.
41:05I've had him as a fade profile. My buddy JJ Zachariasen did some great work last offseason about dead zone running backs,
41:11which is something that I've written about in the past and talked a lot about over the years and researched a lot.
41:18But what JJ found was that guys who had really poor receiving efficiency in that range tended to be pretty big busts year over year.
41:26Like if they're still getting drafted there, but the year prior, they had like a really bad yards per out run.
41:32And Javante Williams yards per out run last year was horribly low.
41:36I don't have the number in front of me, but it was like below 0.5 yards per out run.
41:41And yet, number one, he may not even be considered a dead zone back right now because his ADP is just climbing.
41:48It's in the third round. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And so that's kind of historically been like the break point somewhere in the third round.
41:55And then number two, they cut Jaden blue. They cut film off.
41:59They only have Malik Davis as a backup. They did claim Emery Demercato probably to play on pass downs a little bit,
42:06but Javante is going to get all of the rushing work.
42:09This is a great offense. It's in fantasy. I think touchdowns are more important now than they used to be because we
42:16did see that from a league wide trend perspective last year where yardage was down, but points were back up.
42:22Some of that was because of like the new kickoff rules and stuff.
42:26Teams are more willing to go for it on fourth down instead of kicking field goals in the short field goal areas.
42:33And so it's more about like getting, getting those touchdowns on those drives.
42:37And so we actually saw touchdowns come back up relative to recent seasons while yardage actually went back down.
42:42And so a guy like Javante, who's the clear lead back in a really good offense, it's going to score points and get into scoring position.
42:50I mean, he's probably going to score 12, 14 touchdowns.
42:53I have him as this sort of dead zone back ish profile, not necessarily even where he's getting drafted.
42:59And I'm just, I'm a little bit worried that I'm missing the force for the trees here where like, this is the
43:06lead back with no competition on a really good offense.
43:09Yeah. Hey, we found we're on the opposite sides of her.
43:12Hooray. But I understand where you're coming from. And Pat Doherty had, he came on last Monday.
43:17Where was I? I was in, I think I was in Seattle.
43:21And we recorded that show and he had Javante as a bust.
43:25And of course, it was eight days ago and he was like, watch out for Jaden Blue.
43:30So, you know, that unfortunately didn't age well, but I get it.
43:33I understand where you're coming from. When running backs have receiving as an out, we like multiple outs.
43:39You know, they need to be able to do both, but it helps when you can do both.
43:44And Javante apparently isn't trusted or super great at figuring out how to catch a screen pass.
43:50So, unless that changes, there is a little scary trap door there where, cool, I need your touchdowns and I need a lot of rushing yards.
43:57And a lot of times, a lot of carries means increased exposure to injury.
44:02And it's really scary for your third round pick to get hurt.
44:05So, even though I'm on the other side, of course I understand your logic and where you're coming from.
44:11I'm on the side of, I've always liked Javante.
44:14I think he's a good, not great running back.
44:17And you're right, like it's one of the few offenses we trust and like he himself has a heck of a lot
44:23of runway in terms of a new contract and not a ton of depth chart issues.
44:28I'll do another running back. I don't think I'm like out of step with the market on Brees Hall, but I don't think either me or the market.
44:37And the groin injury from August probably kind of put the damper on this.
44:41Like you just have to worry that that can recur and it has to be a part of your equation.
44:47But I love Brees Hall. I think he's a terrific player.
44:50Wish he wasn't with the New York Jets. But maybe once again, like I said with Marvin Harrison, maybe I'm not giving
44:57him enough credit for the possibility of finally having the true explosion season.
45:01Because, you know, yeah, ha ha ha, it's funny for all of us to go, well, it's the Jets.
45:07They'll never figure it out. But what if they figured it out?
45:10Because like it should be a really good offensive line.
45:14And Gino stinks, but like should at least give a veneer of professionalism.
45:17And what if just they can get the run game going?
45:21Because if Brees were in a positive environment, I'm not giving him credit for it.
45:25But if he were, I think we all think he would be truly a great player.
45:30Like he is, he's terrific. One of the 10 best running backs in the league, I think.
45:35And so the market's not really taking the cheese.
45:38I'm not really taking the cheese. But it's like, I'm not saying don't draft him at his price.
45:44I think it's probably right about a fair price.
45:46But maybe just none of us, all of us are letting the Jetsiness of it get, you know, blind us to the possibility that they fix some stuff.
45:55I am pretty into Brees. I, you know, I went through my projections process.
45:59I, I'm very concerned about the Jets. At the same time, I was shocked to learn that Brees Hall has never had
46:06more than five rushing touchdowns in a season. And he's had, and I was also, there's no reason for that to be
46:13sorry to interrupt, but that like, that's just random.
46:15Yeah. Yeah. It's so, it's crazy. Even if you're on the Jets, five rushing TDs.
46:20And so the other part of that, that's crazy is the last, the other thing that kind of shocked me is the
46:27last three years, which is his whole healthy career.
46:29His rookie season, he was off to a really good start.
46:33And then he tore his ACL and like, I think after seven games and then year two, year three and year four,
46:39he's had over 1,350 yards from scrimmage every year in this Jets offense.
46:43And I guess I wouldn't have guessed that he's had some lingering health related things.
46:48I feel like over the last few years. And then the Jets have just been so bad that for him to have
46:551,350 yard seasons and those kinds of offenses three years running, it speaks to, you know, you were saying you're, you're, you like him.
47:02You think he's good. You, you watch the games.
47:05He's, he is a talented player. His receiving was way down last year because Justin Fields doesn't really check down.
47:11He's going to hold the ball until he takes a sack or scrambles or find something down the field.
47:16But his receiving the two prior years was really good as well.
47:20And so he had some better fantasy years when he caught some touchdowns and, and, and had more receptions overall.
47:26I think that's possibly going to rebound a little bit with Geno Smith, the receiving side.
47:31And then, yeah, just kind of the fact that he's been a player that I've always liked.
47:36I was really into him earlier in his career, including the rookie year where he got hurt.
47:41And then I actually had a lot of him in the second season coming off the injury.
47:47Cause I thought he was discounted too far. And that obviously was, was a fortunate one and worked out well.
47:53Cause he had a great season. That second year is his best year.
47:57He hasn't been as good the last couple of years.
48:00And he was going really high the third season and then back down a little bit last year.
48:05And it hasn't been great because of the jets offenses.
48:08I guess I'm too optimistic about the jets is really like where I come in.
48:13It's like now that they have Kenyon Sadiq, this absolutely freak tight end.
48:17And I actually think Mason Taylor's are really intriguing year two tight end.
48:21And then they drafted Omar Cooper and the Adnanai Mitchell can get open opposite Garrett Wilson.
48:25If Garrett Wilson can stay healthy, I think they have so much more skill talent that they've had for years.
48:32And I know I like anyone who's listening. That's like a jets fans probably like, yeah, same old jets.
48:37Like everyone tells us this every year. I actually think the offense could be kind of decent this year.
48:43Both their tackles are recent first round picks. There's like some optimism, not optimism, but like the offensive line could be okay.
48:50I don't think Gino's like amazing, but I think he's a good fit for the receivers.
48:55Cause he's more of a one read guy last year.
48:58He didn't have guys that could really get open with Brock Bowers hurt, but Garrett Wilson gets open.
49:03Like he can stare down Garrett Wilson until Garrett Wilson gets open.
49:07He likes to put a little flare into his routes, but he creates separation.
49:11And so does Adnanai Mitchell. And I think those guys are going to create throwing lanes for Gino on his first reads.
49:18I think Gino gets into trouble when he has to progress and get deeper into his reads.
49:23Um, and so I think the offense, the passing offense might be a little bit, but I'm worried about Frank Reich.
49:29Honestly, I liked him back in the Colts days, but he struggled with the Panthers and maybe the games passed him by
49:36a little bit as a coordinator, but I'm too into this offense.
49:40I know that I'm too into this offense because I really had to Garrett Wilson too, but I'm kind of excited about the jet.
49:47Sorry. Where do you take him? I take him, I take him like right before Javante.
49:52I'd like to like to get him in round three, but in spots where a lot of running backs have gone, I've
49:59taken him in late round two, even pretty, I'm pretty high on him.
50:03Yeah, it can work. I mean, he's a dude like he is a, in my mind, talent wise, he is a bigger,
50:09a bigger play threat than Javante Williams. And if he were in, if they were in identical situations, I would give Brees Hall the nod.
50:17He, he's a potential league winning player in a way.
50:20Javante is probably much more like he hits doubles, you know, good, really good, but not the same kind of player.
50:26And, and third is about where Hall goes mid third.
50:29And so, yeah, I, if somebody was, if you're aggressive and you're like, now when I pick late second, I like Brees Hall.
50:36I completely understand there's risk, but I completely, completely understand.
50:39Um, yeah, that, all right, go ahead. Oh yeah.
50:42I'll do my fifth, but yeah, I was just going to say the tears at some of the other positions are kind of flat there.
50:50So sometimes I like to get Hall cause he's my favorite of the last kind of group of running back.
50:56And then in the early third, I feel comfortable about what receiver comes or whatever.
51:00I mean, um, it's, it's crazy how many receivers there are.
51:04There's 50 guys that could be in the top 10.
51:07Like there's, you know, so I'm with you. Like receiver is so flat.
51:11Your number one player you might be wrong about.
51:13And I'm going to say one that I'm maybe too high on.
51:17It's Jamison Williams. Uh, I've been really excited about him.
51:20He's a, he's another flag player, another flag player.
51:23Oh, oh, oh, there you go. So you're very amazing.
51:26I thought you were going to say you're out.
51:29The lions offense feels like it's going to be so concentrated.
51:32It's fascinating to me. I think they only kept four receivers at cut down.
51:36If I'm not mistaken, uh, they kept like more tight ends, I think than, than receivers.
51:41Uh, yeah, that's correct. There wasn't more tight ends is incorrect.
51:44They kept, uh, more running backs. They kept five running backs and only four receivers.
51:49They, they kept the fewest number of receivers in the league.
51:52And in part, this is because they drafted incredibly well from 2021 to 2023.
51:57Three, they that's when they hit Gibbs and Jamison Alman raw was in the front side of that.
52:02Penny Sewell, Aiden Hutchinson, Jack Campbell, a lot of their defenders.
52:05And they've extended all these players, including Jamison, who they gave a bunch of money to.
52:10And, and Jared Goff has a big quarterback contract.
52:13And so now you have your core hitting its prime and its second contract.
52:17And, and the contracts reflect that and all of their off season additions.
52:21They let David Montgomery go. They let Khalif Raymond go.
52:24They're role players, all their off season additions. Isaiah Pacheco, they brought in, um, um, unclean who they ended up cutting.
52:31They brought in Greg Dortch and Cedric Wilson. They ended up cutting these guys.
52:35They were all one year deals for 2 million or less maximum value.
52:39They, they cut some of them already. Um, Teddy Bridgewater ended up retiring.
52:43They signed Josh Dobbs with their backup quarterback. He has a very similar short-term one year, cheap, cheap deal.
52:49They're basically telling us, look, we have so much money tied up in this core.
52:53We're going to play all these guys a ton.
52:56It's going to be one of the most concentrated offenses in the league.
53:00And then they have some injuries on defense. And like, I think they're actually going to be in a lot of shootouts
53:07and, and, you know, doing, you know, one of the most fun offenses in the league, which they kind of always are,
53:13you know, Dan Campbell will be aggressive and all of that.
53:17So part of why I think I might be wrong on Jamison is I think that part of it is right.
53:23I think Jameer Gibbs could have the like defining season of this like decade this year.
53:28And I think Alvin Ross St. Brown could just be, you know, absolutely nuclear.
53:32And I think Sam Laporta maybe is the one that I'm not drafting enough as like that third piece.
53:38And then Jamison gets lost a little. I don't think that's going to happen though.
53:42I'm really, really high on Jamison. He ran 600 routes last year by PFF the year prior.
53:48He was at about 475. And prior to that, he hadn't run really any of the first couple of years because of
53:54coming off the ACL and suspension and all that.
53:57But the fact that we finally got a full route share last year, he was fifth in the NFL in routes.
54:03He's not just a deep threat. He has a lower ADOT that uses speed horizontally.
54:08If you watch the games like we do, he's a really good ball in hand.
54:13Like his yak per reception is really good, which you see on paper when they use him horizontally, a lot of catch and run stuff.
54:20So he's the potential to be a lot more, I think, than he's been.
54:24I think because he's a fifth year player, people don't think of fifth year breakouts.
54:29But last year was the first year he really ran big routes and late in the season.
54:34It was really coming together. Some of his strongest target volume of his career.
54:38He had multiple games, eight plus targets, and he really had none in his career up until the second half of last year.
54:45I know Laporta was hurt, but again, I think this offense is going to be really concentrated.
54:51They've talked him up a bunch. So anyway, I'm telling all the reasons that I'm in on him.
54:56He's going to run block. They talked about that.
54:59They're going to keep him out there. The concern is that it's the other guys in the office.
55:04Yeah, the concern is anybody who wants to be a Jameson Williams doubter gets to say, cool, cool.
55:10That all happened when Sam Laporta was hurt. If it doesn't work out for you and me, because I'm on the same
55:16side of it as you are, then we're going to go, okay, whoops.
55:20It turns out that all the fun, interesting things they had Williams doing once Laporta was out was not the plan if Laporta was healthy.
55:28Now he's just once again running wind sprints and getting a few deep balls a game.
55:33And he'll make plays. He'll still probably have a thousand yard season, but it'll just be so up and down that it'll tear our hair out.
55:41But that is not how I'm playing it. I'm with you.
55:44Do you have I have Jameson Williams in my top 20 receivers?
55:48You? I do. Yeah, I have a wide receiver 19.
55:51Yeah, I'm 17 in the standard 19 and a PPR.
55:54So we are on the same side of that.
55:57We're going to suffer together. We're going to glory together.
56:00My last one, we actually we don't need to spend that much time on my last one because we kind of did it.
56:07It was going to be what if there's a clear answer for the Packers at running back?
56:12Because I'm just not really ranking it that way.
56:15But if it's Marshawn Lloyd, I'm just too low.
56:17You know, I feel like I forgot that that was my one.
56:21So I kind of already sort of already gave that argument.
56:24Did I ask you where you where you have Lloyd ranked?
56:28Like what round you'd be willing to take him in?
56:31Yeah, I have him ranked right around where I said he was going around probably round seven, round eight.
56:36I have him RB 27. Okay, so so not I have him 31, but my RBs tend to be a little higher.
56:43He's like 71 overall for me standard 86 PPR.
56:46So that's that's probably about where the market is right now.
56:49Yeah, I'm looking at some like high stakes ADP right now because I just happen to have it in front of me
56:56and in the high stakes places, which tend to be a little more aggressive on guys like this.
57:01He's been in the last few days, RB 29 or 31 at the two sites.
57:06So really, really close to where you're ranking. I think in like, you know, more casual leagues or home leagues, like he's
57:13more likely to probably go a little a little bit lower, I would guess, because these risers really get they get they
57:19get frothy in the high stakes streets out there.
57:22So I think you're you're probably in a pretty I think I'm ahead of market and I think you're probably right around where ADP is sitting.
57:30Yeah, I and I think probably this weekend the news will have been filtered down to the to the to Uncle Joe
57:37and Aunt Mary who you're drafting with and maybe somebody it only takes one person to go.
57:42Sure. What the heck? It's the sixth round. I'm not going to go wrong.
57:46Sure. I'll take him. It's the fifth round. Sure.
57:49Like and and my point in putting him on this list is that could be right.
57:54It could be right that like we're messing it up.
57:57Josh Jacobs is going to be done completely done.
58:00Who knows? We don't know. But like he might be might not play at all this year.
58:05And Lloyd, if that's the case, Lloyd has the opportunity of his lifetime.
58:09This he has to take advantage of this and he's shown no possibility of staying healthy.
58:13And we really don't know if he can play in the NFL.
58:17So it's this weird like airplane black box that is just sitting there on the Packers field and we go, cool.
58:24Do I spend a fourth round pick on him?
58:26Because if he works out, he's very much worth it.
58:29Totally. I do have to mention before we go, I was looking at your show sheet when you when you sent it
58:36to me and you had the list of the ones we had last year.
58:40And it's funny because I think you did this last year.
58:44You sent the one prior. And so I have Xavier Worthy on it the year prior.
58:48The last year, this year's show sheet says Ben is in again.
58:52So it's referencing that I was in the last time I've done this show with you multiple times.
58:58I've been in on Xavier Worthy multiple times, but concerned that I was too high on him.
59:03That concern has been valid the last couple of years.
59:06He's now so cheap, Chris, that I don't even I don't even have him on the list, but I am still trusting him.
59:13You're in again. You're in again, but he's but he's free.
59:16Yeah. Yeah. He's so cheap that I don't even have to say that I'm not worried about it.
59:22I mean, somebody's got to catch passes for the Chiefs.
59:25No one seems to be drafting any of them.
59:27Everyone's worried about Rishi Rice and Travis Kelsey. He's going to turn 37.
59:31Yeah. People are drafting Rishi Rice. Let me tell you.
59:34I just did a draft. He went the second round.
59:37I was like, whoa, that is OK. That's a choice.
59:40All right, Ben. Well, great job. Thank you for doing this again this year.
59:45It was a really great, fun conversation. You can find Ben all over social media.
59:49Just look up Ben Gretsch, G-R-E-T-C-H. And subscribe to the Stealing Signals newsletter.
59:53You're a great friend. Thanks for doing this. Appreciate it.
59:56Thank you. And good luck with the book launch.
59:59I'm super excited. And thank you so much for listening.
60:02Let me also thank the sponsors. With no sponsors, there's no show.
60:06We had Chubbies and we had DraftKings and we had FitBod.
60:09You know, if you do Chubbies, you know, you need to look good in that swimsuit.
60:14Get FitBod too. You can find information about today's sponsors in today's show notes.
60:18If you were interested in anything I had to say about them using the codes and URLs, it really does help.
60:25As far as DraftKings goes, I think we're doing our DFS contest again this year.
60:29So you'd want to be a member of DraftKings to do that.
60:33That's really fun. You can find a full list of all the current sponsors at harrisfootball.com.
60:38Let's do a drawing, a bribery drawing for Pound Foolish.
60:41The random number generator is telling me who wins some Harris football merch today.
60:45It is Derek Wade. Congratulations, Derek. A long time listener.
60:48Your email came up. Thank you for pre-ordering. You have been bribed.
60:52I have been bribed. We've all been bribed. I've already sent you an email and we'll find you some fun.
60:58Harris football merch. Remember that you can still be entered if you order.
61:02You don't have to pre-order anymore. Now you can just order, but not on Amazon.
61:06And send me heyharris at harrisfootball.com. Coming up on Wednesday's show, it's a Yacht Club episode with Andy.
61:12We're going to be doing the movie draft and then I've got a fantasy topic picked out for us as well.
61:18And remember, if you're a Yacht Clubber, the Sunday live streams start a week from Sunday.
61:23And if you are a subscriber to the Yacht Club show, you get to come to a live stream right before kickoff on Sundays.
61:30You can ask us questions via the live streams that happen.
61:34Well, I think Andy's live stream happens earlier on Sunday and then I'm usually like leading right up to it.
61:40So you can ask us lineup questions, etc. It's fun to hang out that hour before kickoff.
61:45So join the Yacht Club if you would like to partake in that.
61:49And then we'll all meet back here on Thursday.
61:52It's going to be a total request episode. Denny Carter from Roto World will join like he usually does this time of year.
61:59We're going to answer your questions. So if you have questions, email them to me.
62:03Hey, Harris at HarrisFootball.com can be about football. Love the football questions can be not about football.
62:08That's also fine too. Anything you want to ask us, we will try and answer.
62:13And remember that tonight, that's Tuesday night, September 1st.
62:16If you're in Los Angeles, 7 p.m. Frogtown Brewery, come hang out.
62:19I'm going to read something and then sign books and then we'll just hang around and talk.
62:24Remember to order the book if you like as well.
62:28That's super cool. If you are coming tonight, you don't have to order the book.
62:32You can just get one when you're there. That would be fantastic.
62:36I appreciate all your support. I am filled with angst right now.
62:39And so I'm going to go calm down. I'm going to do a couple other podcasts today.
62:45I'm doing some Roto World time with Denny and Pat Doherty.
62:48I'll be on that show. And then I'll be on with Dave Kluge on a football guy show today as well.
62:54So you'll get to hear those if you like.
62:57We'll talk about football and the book. And also be on the lookout in this podcast stream.
63:02There'll be a sample chapter of Pound Foolish in there for you to listen to as well.
63:07Until then, thanks again so much for listening. Your hat is awesome.
63:11You're awesome for wearing it. I will talk to you next time.
