Brandon Aiyuk

NegativeRole0:31

Brandon Aiyuk's fantasy appeal diminishes with Deebo Samuel's return and George Kittle's health improvement. The source had significant exposure to Aiyuk when he was cheap but now ranks Deebo ahead of him due to clearer role definition. With Evans, Deebo, and Kittle all competing for targets, Aiyuk's path to volume is constrained. The source notes that if Aiyuk's price increases, he becomes less interesting because his floor is questionable and he was only valuable when cheap enough to not require strong performance.

Deebo Samuel

PositiveRole0:00

Deebo Samuel's return to the 49ers represents a best-case scenario for his fantasy value. 49ers GM John Lynch stated he'll be used in return game, receiver, and running back roles across the field. The source views this as a significant upgrade from his disappointing 2024 season, noting his performance last year doesn't indicate he's washed and that back on the 49ers he should have game. The source had heavy exposure to Deebo in best ball and ranks him first among 49ers WR options ahead of Brandon Aiyuk, citing clearer role definition.

George Kittle

PositiveRole0:58

George Kittle's return to health and increased availability will further compress target share for other 49ers pass catchers, particularly Brandon Aiyuk. As Kittle gets healthier throughout the season, the 49ers' receiving options become more crowded, limiting opportunity for secondary receivers.

Ricky Pearsall

PositiveInjury0:04

Ricky Pearsall suffered a season-ending injury requiring surgery, which prompted the 49ers' interest in bringing Deebo Samuel back. This injury significantly impacts 49ers WR depth and target share distribution for the remainder of the season.

0:00Let's talk Deebo and Stribling, cuz
0:01that's that's your big one. Obviously
0:04with Deebo signing [snorts] Pearsall
0:06since we last talked, you know, he was
0:08getting a season-ending surgery looks
0:10like, so
0:10>> And John Lynch mentioned that they've
0:13been talking to Deebo Samuel for about a
0:14month. So, even before the Ricky
0:17Pearsall stuff, they were interested in
0:19in in bringing Deebo in.
0:21And Lynch said, quote, "You're going to
0:23see him in the return game. You're going
0:24to see him at some receiver. You're
0:26going to see him at some running back.
0:27We're going to use him all over the
0:28field. We're really excited to have
0:30Deebo back. We have a lot of history
0:32with him. We know the type of player he
0:34is. He looks to be in really good
0:35shape." And quote, and said that I think
0:38Kyle Shanahan and Clay Kubiak and all
0:41these guys have a great vision for him
0:42being real creative in how we use him.
0:49This is best-case scenario for Deebo,
0:51you know, to go back to the 49ers. Like
0:53that
0:54They They know how to use him. They know
0:56how to use him.
0:56>> We've seen it.
0:58>> And he wasn't He wasn't that bad last
1:00year.
1:01Like it was disappointing, but as far as
1:04like what he did last year, I don't
1:06think shows he has nothing left, you
1:08know?
1:09If he maybe if he was like on the
1:11Raiders or something,
1:14you'd be like, yeah, what is he What's
1:15he really going to do?
1:17Is it going to be maybe Cooper Kupp
1:18Seahawks type stuff? But I think back on
1:21the 49ers, he'll he should at least have
1:24some game. So, he's obviously moved up
1:26on the signing, but
1:28you know, it makes sense. And it's some
1:29>> I had a lot of Deebo.
1:31You know, cuz I had a lot of Stribling.
1:33He was cheap, but I've had a lot of
1:34Deebo as well. So, it it's been This
1:38This was good. I was happy to see Deebo
1:41here.
1:41>> For sure. How How do you rank those two?
1:45>> It'd be Deebo for first for me, because
1:47you're looking at him, I think Look, we
1:50just know more what his role is. I I
1:52still don't think that he is like
1:54totally washed. Um and then
1:58you've got Evans, now Debo,
2:01Kittle coming back, you know, healthier
2:03and healthier as we go.
2:06And so, you know, it's not wide open for
2:07Stribling.
2:09Like, I think Stribling
2:11at some point, if he gets more
2:13expensive, you're you need him to be
2:15good.
2:17Where he was so cheap, you kind of
2:18didn't even really need him to be good.
2:20Like, he could he needed to like not be
2:22awful. And you're you're you're looking
2:24at a pay hang off. So,
2:26I I've always
2:28been somewhat skeptical that Stribling
2:30can be actually good. So, if if he gets
2:33expensive, then he does get a little
2:35less interesting cuz I start to think
2:37about that floor a bit more.
