Caleb Williams

NegativeBust9:33

The source expresses skepticism regarding Caleb Williams, labeling him overrated due to concerns about his accuracy and completion percentage, suggesting that Bears pass-catchers tied to him carry significant bust risk.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

NegativeProjection22:54

The source expresses concern over Christian McCaffrey's age (30) and the historical trend of running backs with high touch counts (450+) seeing a 5-7 point per game drop-off the following season. However, he remains a high-upside pick who can win leagues if he stays healthy, as he takes excellent care of his body.

Insight page

D.J. Moore

PositiveValue10:36

Despite some concerns about declining efficiency metrics, DJ Moore is a strong target who should command a massive target share in a high-scoring Buffalo offense. The source ranks him 45th overall, significantly higher than his 56th overall Yahoo ADP.

Insight page

Dalton Kincaid

NegativeProjection0:00

While Kincaid led all tight ends in targets per route run over the last two years, his limited time on the field prevents him from being a top-four tight end. He is a solid draft pick at his current ADP (96th overall) with a projected finish around TE6 or TE7.

Insight page

Garrett Wilson

PositiveBreakout12:18

Garrett Wilson is a top-tier receiver who has been held back by poor Jets quarterback play. With Geno Smith, he is expected to crush, and the source has moved him up to 37th overall, ahead of consensus, noting the team's commitment to him as a bell-cow receiver.

Insight page

Harold Fannin

PositiveSleeper26:56

The source highlights Harold Fannin as a player who should have been an early-season waiver wire pickup, suggesting that managers should not be afraid to start tight ends in the flex position in full PPR formats.

Insight page

Jalen Coker

NegativeRole33:56

Jalen Coker is competing for slot snaps with Terrace Marshall Jr., with both seeing roughly 40% of slot snaps in the preseason. Coker is viewed as a natural fit for the slot role.

Insight page

Josh Allen

NegativeValue18:12

Josh Allen is a top-tier quarterback, but drafting him in the first three rounds is discouraged. The source suggests considering him at the 3/4 turn, though late-round quarterback strategies are preferred this year.

Insight page
NegativeValue19:00

The source advises against drafting Josh Allen in the second round, noting that his ADP (8th pick of the second round on Yahoo) is too high. While he will have a great season, the opportunity cost of passing on players like Nico Collins or Brock Bowers makes him a poor value compared to waiting for late-round quarterbacks.

Insight page

Ladd McConkey

NegativeProjection32:51

The source views Ladd McConkey as a player who could struggle with durability due to his size, comparing him to Tyler Lockett. While he is currently preferred over Quentin Johnston, his physical limitations are a concern.

Insight page

Luther Burden

PositiveBreakout30:46

The source is very high on Luther Burden, ranking him as WR19 and dismissing the idea that he is being drafted at his ceiling. He believes Burden has massive upside and could finish as a top-10 wide receiver.

Insight page

Mike Washington Jr.

PositiveUsage15:04

Mike Washington is expected to carve out a significant role in the Raiders' backfield, potentially taking 30-35% of the touches. He is viewed as an explosive player who will maintain a workload despite being a preseason riser.

Insight page

Quentin Johnston

PositiveProjection32:43

The source is surprisingly high on Quentin Johnston, ranking him at WR36. While he doesn't believe Johnston will outscore Ladd McConkey, he notes it is within the range of outcomes if McConkey struggles with injuries or if Johnston benefits from increased 13-personnel usage.

Insight page

Rome Odunze

NegativeProjection30:33

The source ranks Rome Odunze around WR27, noting a disagreement with other analysts who have him as low as WR31. He is considered a fine flex option, though the source prefers Luther Burden's ceiling.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeProjection23:28

The source uses Saquon Barkley as a cautionary tale for high-volume running backs, noting that his fantasy production dropped by about five points per game last year after a heavy workload, illustrating that environmental factors can impact even elite players.

Insight page

Terrace Marshall

PositiveProjection33:50

The source is lower than the market on Terrace Marshall Jr. (TMAC), anticipating a down season. While he acknowledges that increased slot usage (40% target) could raise his floor, he believes the market is pricing him as a future top-10 receiver, whereas he is likely a top-15 to top-20 talent.

Insight page

Travis Etienne

PositiveValue25:25

In a 14-team league, the source suggests that drafting Travis Etienne as a third running back or first flex player provides a significant competitive advantage.

Insight page

Tre Harris

PositiveBreakout33:41

The source suggests that Trey Harris has an equal chance of outscoring Ladd McConkey as Quentin Johnston does, indicating that Harris could carve out a larger role in the offense.

0:00If you need the applause, just shout Dalton Kincaid and everyone will cheer.
0:04I know, right? I can't believe we didn't lead with a Bills player.
0:07That was a big mistake by us. But yeah, we're gonna take questions from anyone who's got them.
0:12Don't be shy. Don't be shy. Brett, I think is coming around with the wireless mic here.
0:17Oh, Addy's coming. Oh, we got one. Brett's not doing any work?
0:20Yeah, we got one back here. Question? Yeah, first one.
0:23Being a Bills fan and carrying them everywhere I go, you mentioned Dalton Kincaid.
0:26Is his worth gonna be about equal to last year now that they got DJ Moore on the outside?
0:32Yeah, see, I wanted to bring up this point.
0:34Like, what we've heard about Dalton Kincaid, they drafted him to be like the go-to player, the one to take that offense to the next level.
0:41And some can say injury, some can say part-time, all this type of stuff.
0:45He hasn't gotten them there yet. So it seems like now DJ Moore is that player for them.
0:50Here's my question. Do you think last year he would have got there if he didn't get hurt?
0:55Like, do you think what we saw in those first five weeks?
0:58That's a really small sample. Right. And do you think that's all it was?
1:02Or do you think we were finally maybe seeing him come on?
1:05But even still, he was like on a per-route basis actually almost like historically productive for the Titans.
1:10Yeah, Mike Leone. You have to be on a per-route basis when you're not in the field all the time.
1:15When you're not getting a lot of routes. I get that part.
1:19Mike Leone established a run who's also a Bills fan.
1:21Yeah, imagine that. In front of the area. Over the last two years, Dalton Kincaid targets per-route run, leads all tight ends.
1:27Yeah, because he only is on the field when he runs routes.
1:31I get it, but we saw the concept at the start of last year.
1:34We really should. That's what I said. We rushed through Dalton Kincaid.
1:38There is a lot more to say. Who else is there in that passing attack though?
1:42It's not going to be Keon Coleman. Well, it's DJ Moore.
1:45Right, but I'm saying it's not going to be Keon Coleman.
1:48It's not going to be Josh Palmer. I hear you.
1:51I don't think Skyler Bell. Like I know there was some excitement fantasy wise.
1:55Probably not going to be him. So it's going to revolve around those two and then cook in the back.
2:00I don't want to sound like I'm anti-Dalton Kincaid even though it does.
2:04You really don't sound like that. I know. What I really think is when we go for big wins, I don't think
2:10Don Kincaid can be a big win player because he's not in the field often enough.
2:14So I think you can draft him as tight end 11 and he finishes as the tight end 7 or 6 this year.
2:20That's fine. I just don't think he's going to crack into like the top 4.
2:24Well, I know you two are. If I can interrupt your bickering real quick.
2:28The question was, is he worth where he's going right now?
2:31Well, as the 96th overall player, I think he is worth where he is going.
2:35I think he's definitely worth that. Yes. And I agree with the points that you're saying, Josh.
2:40Like those things are concerning and he was averaging 11.3 fantasy points per game in half PPR last year.
2:45That would have been top five at the end of the season.
2:48It was a small sample size. Would he have averaged that?
2:51Maybe he wouldn't have been top five tight end.
2:54But I think if you build your roster in a certain way, when you're getting one of those tight ends at the
3:00back end, the odds of getting one of these elite guys that we love so much that has the volume to be that.
3:06He's not going to be that guy, but because he scores the touchdowns because he's a big play guy, like I think
3:12he can still come through for you in that way.
3:15Well, the good news is I feel like you got a lot of different perspectives from these two guys here to the question there.
3:21But I would say yes, I think worth where he is.
3:24I would say yes, too. All right. Well, that's three yeses, even though, Josh, I don't know what you were doing, doing
3:30the devil's advocate thing over there, you know, whatever.
3:33All right. Let's get another question here. Who else has any fantasy questions, football questions, you know, questions about verse, why we love these pants so much?
3:40I can talk about that. I mean, you really do love them.
3:43I really do love them. They're so comfortable. They're so comfortable.
3:46So when you punt the quarterback position in a draft, how much do you care about stacking your quarterback who might not
3:52be mobile like a Stafford, a Purdy? Yeah. Someone like that versus someone who has more mobility like Bo Nix, Trevor Lawrence
3:58or the ultra mobile quarterback like Malik? How do you go through those decisions?
4:02Do you care about stacking in a redraft context or is that not something you worry about too much?
4:07To me, that's more something in best ball that I'm trying to do and redraft.
4:11I'm not as worried. I think if you're going to go late quarterback to that degree, you're just trying to get somebody
4:17that has that opportunity to finish in like the top 10 who you think could come through for you and not be
4:23someone that you're going to end up dropping after two weeks.
4:26And then you're going to be trying to figure it out on the waiver wire.
4:30I really like going late though. Don't worry about stacking.
4:33If you can fine. I don't know if I would do it with a Dolphins quarterback, but for me, when I get
4:39to that point, if I miss out on the other options or that area that Harmon talked about, I want to grab
4:45two of those late guys and just give myself like a couple shots at it.
4:49So Malik Willis is a great one because the upside is there with the rushing pairing him with like a Stafford somebody
4:55that you know, maybe you feel a little more comfortable starting the season with.
4:59I think that's a great approach. I mean, I know we were talking about the Packers, but I think Jordan love both
5:05like him and Malik Willis go outside the top 120 picks like I think a quarterback duo of a Jordan love and
5:11Malik Willis is like perfectly viable this year. So yeah, I'm right now in the middle of a slow draft trying to
5:17see if I can take this thing all the way to eat.
5:20Like I want to make quarterback not even just the last starter.
5:23I'm going to make it the last pick I draft.
5:26You can't like Kyler still on the board. Jordan love is still on the board Malik Willis is still on the board.
5:32So I think like this is the year to really punt quarter.
5:35You know what's insane, but like you could actually do this season.
5:39We talked about everyone always says like don't draft a defense or kicker.
5:42You could literally not draft a quarterback this year and just go to the waiver wire because there's going to be one of those top 20 or 20.
5:50I mean, nobody nobody wants to draft Baker Mayfield this year, which is kind of crazy because he was the QB seven
5:56like an ADP last year, six or seven. And now just way, way off the board.
6:00And I think I think that offense is pretty well set up to cook this year.
6:05I mean, I could throw out some Daniel Jones stats that might make that'll really get the people going.
6:10Yeah, but I won't. No notes. No notes over here.
6:12You guys said it. OK. Any other questions here?
6:15We've got from the audience thing we got. Well, we got like a bunch over here.
6:19So yeah, Addy, whoever you want. Thank you. Thank you.
6:22Hey, guys, it's I'm glad to be here. Love your guys and stuff, by the way, too.
6:27Glad to have you here. Yeah, thank you. Thank you.
6:29So, Matt, you are the wide receiver whisperer. Wow.
6:32And I got to say, I am disappointed in your ADP and DJ Moore.
6:36Oh, all right. And here here's the question that I have.
6:39OK, I was gonna say I haven't heard a question yet.
6:42So so according to your rankings, you think Ted Aroa McMillan is going to have a better season than DJ Moore with Josh Allen as his quarterback?
6:49Because I think DJ Moore should be at that four or five cluster of receivers where Jalen Waddle and all those guys are.
6:55And I think he should be at the top of that tier because we're talking about Josh Allen here.
7:00I mean, DJ Moore is going to command a huge target share.
7:04This is going to be one of the highest scoring offenses in the league.
7:07And this is not just for you, Matt, because this is industry wide.
7:11It feels like it's for me, but keep going.
7:13But but industry wide, DJ Moore is going so low in drafts.
7:17Now, what sucks here in Buffalo is that he's going to go high because we're going to be drafting with other people that love the bills.
7:24Yeah, but I just I don't understand it is.
7:26It's like one of the most frustrating and just I don't get it.
7:30Explain that. What is what is your name? Damian.
7:32That's Damian. Damian was really nice to me before the show.
7:35I just want you to know that. Great question.
7:38OK, so I'm glad. So you two are clearly friends.
7:40This is a plan. No, I think it is a really fair point.
7:44And if I was to back up your point, I would say that the fantasy even redraft community is a little bit
7:50like dynasty brain sometimes where we think like the younger player, there's more to him to take a step forward.
7:55Like for DJ Moore, the efficiency metrics have dropped off the last couple of seasons, even like in my charting.
8:01He's dropped off the last couple of seasons. But again, I mentioned he's somebody that I've moved up higher over the course
8:07of the last month or so, because we've seen, I think, just number one, a lot of excitement about him from Buffalo.
8:13But two, I also think he was one of the most misused players last year in Ben Johnson's offense.
8:18Not not that Ben Johnson did anything wrong. It's just like the way Ben wants his receivers to operate is really different
8:24than the way that he's going to be operating here in Buffalo.
8:27Like he's just a better fit for this system.
8:30So honestly, you're kind of talking me into this.
8:32But I think ultimately the reason that I would still stick with Ted Roa over DJ is that there is a risk
8:38that we've seen the best of DJ Moore and we haven't seen the best of Ted Roa McMillan just yet.
8:44But I just think if you're in a fantasy football league and you really need points and you're watching the game and
8:50you're hoping you need points and you're watching Bryce Young and Ted Roa McMillan or DJ Moore and Josh Allen, who do
8:56you think is going to get you there? And like I said, Ted Roa McMillan, I think DJ Moore is going to
9:02be better than I think he's going to end up top 10 top 12 this year.
9:06I really do just based off of volume Josh Allen, the offensive scoring opportunities and the lack of competition on the roster.
9:12There's nobody else that's going to steal any type of receptions from him.
9:15I mean, I just I don't get it for the fantasy wide community and especially because for me last year, I don't
9:21believe that it was more of him losing a step.
9:24I think it's more Ben Johnson's offense, the weapons that they have.
9:27And plus, I'm not a Caleb guy because I do disagree with you on Caleb as well, because I think Caleb Williams is highly overrated.
9:34Don't understand why he got the cover of Madden because I honestly like I just he's not accurate enough.
9:39David's in our show. I was gonna say this should have been on the show.
9:43Yeah, we need a fourth chair. But I just I think I think this fantasy community is going to have a real
9:49reckoning when they realize that Caleb Williams really isn't that guy.
9:52Because again, what is he 58% 59% completion percentage?
9:55I mean, what are we talking about here? Because there's a chance that all those Bears guys they bust for you.
10:01There's a good chance it could happen. It definitely could happen.
10:04I think that you do have to take in some of that risk.
10:07But any other. One more thought. I don't think you answered the question.
10:11I answered the DJ Moore question and listen, I want I want history to show I have moved him up the rankings.
10:17I'm probably higher than most people on DJ Moore.
10:19I think if you look at consensus rankings, I'm higher.
10:22So that that was probably the thing why I wouldn't flip McMillan and more specifically is that I do want people using
10:28the rankings to like have a shot at being able to take Ted or where he goes.
10:32But I'm still going to be higher than consensus on more.
10:35So that again, when you're in draft, maybe not with you, with you folks here from from Buffalo, you're not going to
10:41get DJ Moore using my rankings, but basically anywhere else you definitely will.
10:45So I think that's more of like a philosophical how you put together rankings, like being able to be sensitive to ADP,
10:51but still kind of wanting everyone to get shots at these players.
10:54I was going to add to kind of help you out here.
10:57I love the DJ Moore love. This is fantastic.
11:00And I really hope you're right. I was going to add that that cluster of receivers.
11:04I want to push DJ Moore higher and I'm having a hard time doing it because I like so many guys in that range.
11:11So he's in that group of guys I'm trying to get.
11:14I'm not quite sure where I have him. I was looking over here to see where he was.
11:19Again, to make the plea to Damien here. He's 56th overall in Yahoo.
11:22I've got him 45th overall. So 11 spots higher than where he's going in ADP.
11:26So if you're using my rankings, maybe again, maybe not here, but you're just updated it now though.
11:31That is not accurate. Last one. And this is for a sleeper that I think is going to be a top 10 receiver.
11:38Garrett Wilson. What is up with the fantasy community and not believing in him?
11:41Because I really think that I'm with you on this one.
11:44Yeah, Smith is a good be and listen. Well, and well, I meant.
11:48Well, you were on the heater there for a second compared to what the Jets have had in the past.
11:53Right. So if we look at his games last year where he was playing with Justin Fields, he was a top five
11:59receiver in the NFL last year on a points per game basis.
12:0335% target share in those games. So if you add that in with Geno Smith, with a better offensive line, you're telling
12:09me that, I mean, he's going to crush this year.
12:11Like I don't get it. And I really want to take Garrett Wilson ahead of that cluster of the Jalen Waddles and
12:17the Lad McConkeys and all those guys. But I do want to play my game where I can wait to try to
12:23get him a little bit lower, maybe in that area.
12:26But I just, I think he's up there with at the top of that tier.
12:30I think people have just, people have been hurt by the Jets offense for a while now.
12:35So I think that's factoring in for sure. I do like, and I will say, I've moved him up a bit recently.
12:41I like the way they're talking. I had concerns when they brought in all these other pass catchers that we were going
12:47to go from really having two shows in town to now they had a bunch of guys in that offense using two first round picks.
12:53It's not happening. The way they're talking is no, we're going to have two bell cows.
12:58We're going to have Breesall and we're going to have Garrett Wilson.
13:01So I agree with you. He does need to move up more.
13:04I've tried to recently. Damien, I can say to your good side, because I think I have Garrett Wilson ranked ahead of T-Mac, Lad McConkey, Emekek, Vuka.
13:12And for me, he's 37th overall. And then if you look on 50 F.A.
13:16Yeah. He's going 49th overall right now. So I'm right there with you.
13:19Like, um, this is a very pro Garrett Wilson.
13:22Yeah. We haven't seen the best of Garrett Wilson yet for an entire season.
13:25No, you know, we've seen it in spurts. And as much as I think Frank Reich is the game is kind of
13:31passed him by at the very least. We saw with a broken system and a broken offensive line.
13:36Adam Thielen still went over 11. Let's just hope Damien's right about Geno Smith.
13:40Cause I know I've done this for years, like with Allen Robinson in Chicago, where it's like, well, Nick Foles might be the best quarterback he's ever had.
13:48Like Andy Dalton might be the best quarterback he's ever had.
13:51And then when you finally got to a good quarterback, it was, it was too late.
13:55I know. We talk about this with the Arizona guys.
13:58Like what happens if they fall out of it?
14:00We go to Carson Beck. What happens if the Jets fall out of it?
14:04Do we see Cade Clubnick? Like, does that factor in late in the season?
14:08Yes, you do. It's very important. I think we're going to see him a little bit.
14:12Yeah. All right. Damien, that was great. So whoever we got, you got big shoes to fill.
14:17So that should have definitely been on the show.
14:19So due to some scheduling conflicts, I had to draft early this year and I had to take Ashton Gentty with my sixth pick.
14:26Now with the injuries and the news coming out that he's might be doing a tandem with Mike Washington.
14:31How would you guys go about handling that? Would you like to offload Gentty or would you like to hold on to him?
14:37What would you do? Josh, you hate Ashton Gentty.
14:40I don't hate Ashton Gentty. It just never made sense to draft Ashton Gentty that high or for people to rank him
14:46as like the 14th overall player when he finished as running back 17 last year and already had him as like the 18th overall player.
14:52So to me, it's like, hey, you could draft him and he could turn out to be Jonathan Taylor.
14:58Why not just draft Jonathan Taylor? Overall, I do think Mike Washington in the first few weeks when he has probably more
15:04of a workload than people expected a couple weeks ago is going to continue to keep that workload because he's going to
15:10show that he is explosive and can change games in a way.
15:13And so while Ashton Gentty had 86% of the Raiders touches last year, that's probably gonna be closer to like at best 70-30 and maybe like a 65-35.
15:20So to answer your question, I'm not sure what you can do.
15:24You know, was there someone, one of your friends or whoever that was saying, hey, if you didn't draft Ashton Gentty, I would have drafted him.
15:31Could you flip him for Chase Brown? Could you flip him for Ken Walker III?
15:35I would do that in a heartbeat. I don't think you're going to get that trade right now.
15:40Yeah, I think the way it is right now, you almost are stuck holding because if you sell him now and then
15:46a month from now he's healthy, you're going to miss out on the good times.
15:50I think there is a potential for him to get cleared for week one.
15:54And as soon as you get that notification that, oh, Ashton Gentty is playing week one, that is if you do want
16:00to sell, that is I think your sell window because they're not going to say, oh, he's only going to play 65% of the snaps.
16:06I need to see him carrying pizza boxes like Jeremiah Love.
16:09That'll really tell me that he's ready to go for week one.
16:13Can I just like maybe make the case that Mike Washington just ends up being a preseason hype bunny and that's it?
16:19Sure, I think you're wrong. I mean, I would again, I'm making the case.
16:23I don't even know if I believe it. But honestly, I think at this point you probably just ride it out like
16:29because you're not going to get one of these names.
16:31I think that we've thrown around here at this point.
16:34I think everyone else knows about the Gentty injury situation.
16:37So I think you ride it out. You see what happens.
16:40And I still think you're going to get a solid running back at a Gentty this year at the very worst, even
16:46if Mike Washington ends up kind of getting involved here, because ultimately this is a run game that does they want to
16:52find explosive plays, but they also want to like kind of grind it out a little bit.
16:56And Ashton Gentty, I think, is an objectively superior grinded out runner as opposed to Mike Washington.
17:01So I don't know. That's a tough one, though.
17:03The scheduling conflicts drafting early. That's tough. I think you just got to ride it out at this point.
17:09Yeah. So it was like even harder when you know you don't have you have to think about everyone else keeping all
17:15these other running backs and like receivers. You're already down four or five, you know, those players before you can actually get to your running back.
17:22And that's kind of who was left on the board.
17:24It was down between that and Devon Achan. And I didn't really trust the Miami offense with all the changes.
17:30Well, I would my last piece of advice to you, too.
17:33And, you know, normally I would say definitely subscribe to the Yahoo fantasy football show with Josh and Hayden.
17:38It's a great show. Great analyst. But you probably should not listen to it, though, because I think they're contractually obligated to
17:44talk about Mike Washington at least like four or five times an episode.
17:47I would I would for you might be I would skip it like maybe tune back in and unsubscribe.
17:53I would unsubscribe and come back in October and check it out there.
17:56Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, we take a plant questions.
17:59Yeah. Yeah. Producer Colin here. I have a question.
18:01Callum. Yeah. We're in Buffalo. I was eviscerated for this in the last draft I did with you guys.
18:07But I'm just curious and one QB league. When is the right time to draft Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen?
18:12Let the record show he was not eviscerated for taking Josh Allen.
18:15He was eviscerated for taking a tight end and then a quarterback in the first three rounds.
18:20That's a fish move. Let's let's let's like let's let the record show.
18:23And then again, this is a personal accountability podcast.
18:26Yeah. Radical candor. Yeah. Then he tries to take the dishonorable move of saying, oh, my Internet crashed out.
18:31And that's why I took that. That's why I took that's why I took Josh Allen.
18:35I lost Internet. It was an auto draft. Well, you need to do something about your Internet.
18:40That is not our Broncos running backs. Yeah. And it took both Broncos running backs, which is not even Sean Payton wants to do that.
18:47So now that the record is straight, when's the right time to take the first quarterback?
18:51I would start to consider him at like the three, four turn.
18:54I don't think I've taken him once in the third round, though.
18:58I think I've always there's been a few times I've taken him in the fourth.
19:02It's really wherever you feel comfortable doing it. If you're talking about value this year, taking Josh Allen is just not the
19:08way to go because of all the great quarterbacks.
19:10Like we've talked about the area that Harmon hit on in the eighth, ninth round, the late quarterbacks that you can get,
19:16not even drafting a quarterback if you want to be nuts about it.
19:20I haven't taken him much. And that's after years of trying to get him on my teams, years of going with elite
19:26quarterbacks because of the advantage that he gives you.
19:28I don't think the advantage is going to be the same this year, even though he's going to have a great season.
19:34But the value at that position, to me, in the range that he goes in, it's just not there.
19:39Yeah. I mean, he's doing the eighth pick of the second round on Yahoo.
19:43That's ridiculous. Yeah, that's wild. Well, can I – It's ridiculous.
19:46I mean, listen, Colin only asked this question to save his own butt.
19:50Yeah, we don't have to spend time on it.
19:52I mean, like, we don't have to spend time on it because also the reality is I think about 50% of the
19:58audience here has got some type of Bills gear on.
20:01So, like, wherever – the 3-4 turn, there's no chance he's ever getting there.
20:05Can I just make one point why it's kind of ridiculous in the second round, though?
20:09Sure. It's the 2v2s. Why don't you tell the people why their favorite player stinks?
20:13No, no, no. That is not what I'm doing.
20:16It's just the 2v2s. So, taking him in round two is bypassing, like, Nico Collins or Brock Bauer.
20:21So, for example, like, if you go – Brock Bauer is the next pick.
20:24So, would you either have the Josh Allen and Kyle Pitts team or would you either have Brock Bauer and the Trevor
20:30Lawrence team, for example, or the Bo Nix team on top of that?
20:34Some people would. And then there's other ones, like, would you either have Nico Collins and Brock Purdy or Josh Allen and Chris Goblin?
20:40Like, that's the second round – Was anybody moved by that argument?
20:44Show of hands? No. Really? Let me make one final point.
20:47And I've said this in front of you guys before, but I'm very competitive.
20:50I'm always trying to get value anywhere I can.
20:53I'm always trying to win anything that I do.
20:55But I also remind myself constantly, fantasy is supposed to be fun, right?
20:59And if you want to draft your favorite player and have him on your team because it's going to make you watch
21:05the game with that much more love for them, just go ahead and do it.
21:09Maybe don't do it in an insane way. Don't take him in the first round because that's not a good call if
21:15we're just talking about a one-quarterback league. But take him a little earlier if you want to take him at the end
21:21of the second, and that's going to make you enjoy football and enjoy fantasy and your league that much more.
21:26Just do it. It doesn't all have to be a ballgame.
21:29Then you're not a big enough Bills fan is what you're saying that you take him in three, four turns.
21:35You have the third pick in an upcoming draft.
21:37Why don't you just prove that you're a real Bills fan?
21:40Or, yeah, on the turn. On the round two.
21:43I think you should take him third overall if you really believed in him.
21:47No, sadly it will not happen. No. So you're saying he goes and gets married and he needs to watch.
21:52Turn in your Bills cards. I'm saying everyone else should have fun.
21:55I'm the one that's going to be the psychopath trying to win everything I do.
21:59And if I could just pander to the crowd a little bit here too as well as somebody who has all of
22:05the Josh Allen shares in Dynasty, so I don't even have to worry about it this year.
22:10I've got plenty of exposure to Josh Allen. Also, if you don't want to do all this work with streaming quarterbacks, we
22:16can sit here and say, you could take Malik Willis.
22:19What if he gets benched? And then you've got to go to the waiver while.
22:23When's the right time to take Josh Allen? Just take Drake May, right?
22:26No. I agree. No, he's having a down season this year.
22:29Josh Allen's back. The Bills are back. It's happening.
22:32I'm going to pander to the crowd on that one.
22:34But also, again, if you don't want to stream quarterbacks, you just want to take one quarterback and just let it ride,
22:40then take him in the second round and it's fine.
22:43Don't worry about it. Any other questions from someone who maybe isn't trying to make themselves look smarter here?
22:48We got one in the first row. Colin, unbelievable.
22:51Can you believe him in the internet excuse? I mean, that's disgusting.
22:54Rookie. All right. So I started a slow draft this morning.
22:57Oh. I could have used your advice before I picked Richard McCaffrey.
23:00Oh. Over Saquon Barkley. Well. I don't feel good about it.
23:03I actually have been disgusted about it all day long.
23:06Please talk me off the edge and say that I did the right thing.
23:10Coon? I'm worried. I'm worried. There is clearly a path to him replicating some version of what he did last year based on volume.
23:16But man, like I said earlier, that history of running backs, that kind of volume coming through the next year, it's just not great.
23:23And there's really no history of a guy at his age doing it.
23:26So let's go through that. Saquon is the latest example.
23:29I mean, I sat here last year. Well, not here, but just figuratively.
23:33And said, hey, don't worry about it. Saquon's in an awesome situation.
23:36He just finished as the running back one. Just still keep drafting him.
23:40We saw that it's not necessarily an individual's thing that can change.
23:43It's the environmental one. And that's what led Saquon Barkley to drop in about five fantasy points last year.
23:48Before that, that was DeMarco Murray and Arian Foster also had that 450 touch mark.
23:52And they dropped massively around five to seven fantasy points per game.
23:55And again, those guys, as Boone said earlier, were 26 and 27 years old.
23:59CMC is 30. The other part of this, though, the other part is if he hits, he's the guy you need.
24:05Yeah. And that's it. Like, what pick was it?
24:07It's a keeper league, just like the other kids.
24:10Yeah. It was third overall. Upside wins championships. So it was either him or Saquon.
24:14Yeah. That's how you feel better about it is that if he stays healthy, which, listen, nobody takes better care of their body than Christian Kafe.
24:21Yeah. He takes 10 days off. Yeah. He takes 10 days off.
24:24And schedule. Planned. Yeah. It's planned. It's scheduled. It's no big deal.
24:27Okay. So there's that. Awesome. Number two. Yeah. If he stays healthy, you're going to win the league.
24:32And ultimately, who cares if you come in second?
24:35You're either first or you're last. So that's how you feel better about it.
24:39There you go. Thank you. I also think there's a chance, based on what we saw from him staying healthy last year,
24:45that he has sold his soul to the devil and all his teammates get hurt, but not him for some reason now.
24:51So maybe that'll continue. I've heard that before. Yeah.
24:53Yeah. Anyone else? Questions here? We got one over here.
24:56Oh, we got a lot. Yeah, we got a lot.
24:58Awesome. That's great. So I'm in a 14-team PPR redraft league.
25:01This is my first season doing that. How do you balance acquiring talent versus just depth?
25:06What tips do you have for a 14-team league?
25:08How many starting spots do you have? Like, is it traditional starting spots?
25:12Yeah. One QB, one flex, two running back, two wide receiver, one tight end.
25:16Okay. How I would think about just overall a 14-team, my baseline would be I'm going to turn that flex into a wide receiver.
25:22There's just more of those than there are starting running backs.
25:25Now, if you get into a position where, like, in a 14-teamer, you can get Travis Achan as, like, your third running
25:31back in your first flex, then, like, hey, you can dominate that way.
25:35But just overall, my most baseline strategy would be look at it from the 14-team.
25:39Like, your team just, you hate it no matter what.
25:41Yeah. Nobody, if you leave your draft and be like, man, this 14-team team rocks, like, you did something wrong.
25:47Like, everybody needs to be going to work. There's going to be a weakness on your roster is basically what I'm saying.
25:53And I kind of would go into it thinking it's going to be my running back two spot.
25:58Now, again, things can change during the draft, but running back twos, as we have seen, especially in PPR, as the season
26:04goes along, that can become a pure pass catcher on a high-powered offense, right?
26:08It can become a handcuff that then becomes, you know, the starting running back for the team.
26:12So just go in mind thinking my roster isn't going to be great in everywhere because it kind of has to be
26:18great in a few spots and down in one.
26:21And I would look at that running back two spot as that.
26:24The way I tend to approach it is I treat the waiver wire, especially early in the season, like it's another draft pick that I have.
26:31And I'm very aggressive with those early waiver wire players.
26:34Because if you hit on those guys, you have that starter now for the rest of the season or for a huge chunk of the season.
26:41So I tend to be really aggressive like that.
26:43I don't worry as much about depth. I just want to try to get upside and then I'm turning to the waiver
26:49wire and being aggressive and trying to get some backups and fill my roster that way if I missed on any of those other players.
26:56Final one. On that note, like Harold Fannin would have been a pickup in week one or week two last year.
27:02Don't be afraid to start a tight end in your flex in certain situations.
27:06You know, in full PPR. Like they will simply outscore some of the wide receivers that are drafted around them later on in drafts.
27:12So that's kind of, I think, an unearthed area in a bunch of these leagues right now.
27:17And I know it's a point we've hit over and over, but definitely that's a format to wait on quarterback.
27:22You know, because you're going to want to make sure those multiple starting positions are really filled up there at that point.
27:28All right. Let's get a couple more in here.
27:31My question is really about collusion or collusion. All right.
27:33Simple court. Yeah. So I was in a situation a couple of years ago where we were playing in a league that
27:39did not have a setting to allow you to trade fab dollars.
27:43Okay. But I had arranged a situation where I was going to essentially offer my fab dollars to someone else for a player.
27:49So they were going to trade me someone and I would like give away the last guy on my roster.
27:54And then they would be able to direct me who to use my fab dollars on and then trade them that player.
28:00Like, so basically they got my fab dollars for a trade.
28:03Right. Collusion or not collusion. Well, so you're basically asking us to clear your conscience right now is what you're doing.
28:09I'm actually totally in favor of being able to trade your fab dollars.
28:13It's a fantasy asset. Yes, it is. It's a fantasy asset.
28:16Now, did the 11 of your friends say, hey, we never talked about this.
28:19You're wrong. No, I felt like when Bill Belichick like manufactured time in that one game, like it was brilliant.
28:25Okay. Can I cut in for a second? I'm the commissioner of that league.
28:29Oh, yes. Here we go. So he wanted to rent a player.
28:32So he would give him fab. He would rent the player and then the player would go.
28:37Oh, renting is a no, no. Yeah. False. False.
28:39But what? I guess I'm just saying like if it's a fantasy asset, is it on the table?
28:44No, so renting is off the table. It wasn't renting.
28:47Okay. It was renting. We do now allow for fab to be traded, which is.
28:51Right. So fab being traded. No. So what he just said, we allow it.
28:55I was just early to it is all. And I'm wondering like what kind of compensation would you get for pioneering something like that?
29:01Sometimes, you know, if you want to make change in the world, you got to break a few rules along the way.
29:07But if you break a few rules along the way, you also, you know, you got to go to jail.
29:12You know, you got to pay the price for it.
29:15So it's good that you were the change that you wanted to see in the world.
29:20All right. In this situation where, you know, now your league trade's fab.
29:23But we still got, you know, we still have to call you a colluder, you know, for ultimately breaking the rules.
29:29In my mind, how it should go is if the rule is in place and it should be like now that you have it that way, it's great.
29:36If you're in the season and that rule is not in place, you can't do it.
29:41You can't concoct some scenario where you're now allowed to do it.
29:44It's not a rule. It wasn't. It was the situation that it was.
29:48You were trying to. It wasn't not allowed. But it wasn't allowed.
29:51I love this. This is what it's all about.
29:53This is asking for forgiveness, not permission. Yes. You know, I want to add he's lost the league the last two years.
29:59See, that's what I said. You got to pay the price.
30:02You paid the price. But since you didn't win, it doesn't matter.
30:06You know, so now the rule's in place and it's okay.
30:09You start fresh from there. Like they shouldn't hold this over your head.
30:12Yeah. You should. They should let it go. Yeah.
30:15It happened. Don't believe him. And ultimately you change the culture.
30:18You really did. But if you rented, that's horrible, dude.
30:20Like you can't rent a player. We listen. We don't judge.
30:23Right. Yes. Yes. All right. Let's get maybe. We got one more.
30:27All right. Cool. Blue shirt and white shirt. Great.
30:29That narrows it down. All right. So I know you talked about Roma Dunze.
30:33I don't know if you guys are familiar with Greg Branos.
30:36And his stuff. But he had Roma Dunze as wide receiver 31.
30:39Which I thought was surprising. Yeah. Coach speak index.
30:42Yes. Yeah. And Luther Burden at 19. I'm just wondering where you guys have the gap.
30:46And if I should be comfortable having Roman my flex.
30:49I had it before the Burden injury. I was doing the hedge ranking.
30:52So I had him back to back. Like that's how I think they should be viewed.
30:56It's the fantasy football analyst special. Correct. Yes. So back to back.
31:00I had him around like 22, 23, 24. So somewhere in there.
31:03So I'd be higher on Rome than Greg is.
31:05I'd be like slightly lower on Burden there. I have Luther Burden at wide receiver 23.
31:10And I have Rome at wide receiver 27. I don't understand other people that make content saying, well, you're drafting Luther Burden at a ceiling.
31:17That makes zero sense to me. You're not. Like Luther Burden's ceiling is a freaking top 10 wide receiver scorer this season.
31:23So yeah. I have Luther Burden at wide receiver 19.
31:25I have probably the biggest gap out of them.
31:28I have a Doonsday more down in the either very high 20s or maybe even at wide receiver 30.
31:33Again, big group there. But for me, it's very clearly Burden, the one who I want.
31:37And the ceiling, I think, is just so massive with him.
31:40Good question. But I think he's a totally fine flex either way.
31:44We had one over here. One more over here.
31:46Those questions are great. Yeah, really good questions. Especially Damien.
31:49I got to question everything I've done now. Smart guy, Damien.
31:52Hi, guys. Hi. A little two-parter here. Nice hat.
31:54Thank you. It's fine. Whichever one of the three of you is lowest on Quinton Johnston, can you build me a case for him outscoring Ladin-Akonki this year?
32:02And then if Ted McMillan plays 30% to 40% in the slot this year, what do you think his ceiling is?
32:08And that one's more geared towards Matt Harmon. Yeah.
32:10Based on the first question, are they trying to lure you into another pen bet?
32:14Is that what's going on right now? I will not be doing it.
32:18Let the record show. I'll say it now here in front of all my good friends at Dick's House of Sport.
32:23I'm not doing a pen bet this year. I will not be doing any pen bets this year.
32:28Did you follow through with it? You didn't have to.
32:31I didn't have to. I was right. Got it.
32:33Okay, good. I didn't have to eat the pen.
32:36But it was, to be honest, I don't know.
32:38But it was really close. It was a little dicey there at one point in the season.
32:43I'm at wide receiver 36 on Quinton Johnson. Like, I'm pretty damn high on it.
32:47That is pretty high. Yeah. Can you make the case that he outscores Ladin-Akonki?
32:51No. Yeah. Okay. But it's one of these cases where you don't have to like one or the other.
32:56Like, you can like them both. Well, I can make the case that it happens.
33:00I don't believe it will happen. But the case that it would happen is just like, Lad is too small, and he gets hurt.
33:07And he has to scrape his body off the turf every single time.
33:10He takes like a massive hit. Like, is he more of a Tyler Lockett type of player, which is the player I
33:16compared him to coming into the league? Yeah, that could be possible in that scenario.
33:20And QJ just runs hot on big plays. He plays more in like 13 personnel, and they get the three tight ends on the field.
33:27I think that is all possible. Yeah, or full back.
33:30Like, I think that's all possible, right? It is within the range of outcomes, but I don't think it's a very likely outcome.
33:36And do you have anything? Well, I was just going to say, I think there's an equal chance.
33:41He outscores Lad McConkie as Trey Harris outscores Quinton Johnson.
33:44Like, I think Trey Harris could take on a bigger role in that offense.
33:47So, yeah, I don't think it's going to happen.
33:50To the TMAC point, it's interesting. Like, TMAC's in the slot 40% of the time in the preseason, but Jalen Coker's also
33:56in the slot 40% of the time in the preseason.
33:59Well, I think that's possible, though, right? No, it is.
34:01It is. It is. But just the huge conversation is, hey, Ted Romo McMillan's in the slot.
34:06Well, guess who also is, too, in Jalen Coker?
34:08So, shouldn't we be... Well, it's more expected of Coker.
34:11Like, he was kind of a power slot last year.
34:14Kind of, but like, all of his big plays were on the outside.
34:17Well, because he can do that, that's why it allows him to kick McMillan into the slot.
34:22But honestly, the question with TMAC is less about...
34:24I mean, the slot stuff matters. Like, it definitely matters.
34:27It was only 15% last year. It was only 15%.
34:30Like, if we double that, we're really cooking here.
34:32And that can increase, I think, the floor for TMAC.
34:35But the ceiling comes from, as our very handsome and smart friend Damian over here pointed out, it comes from the Bryce
34:41Young variable and really just the passing volume from the offense overall.
34:44I've been sitting on a negative take. Like, I think I'm lower than the market just in general on TMAC this year.
34:50Because I already anticipate him having a down season and everyone just saying, well, Bryce Young freaking sucks and it's all his fault.
34:57And so... Yeah, like, foot to the fire. Like, I do think there are analysts who are higher on TMAC as a player than I am right now.
35:04Like, I think he's a good player, like a good number one receiver.
35:08But is he, like, a transcendent number one? It's interesting.
35:10I think he's priced as if he is a clear-cut, like, future top 10 receiver in the league with a quarterback question.
35:16And he's maybe more of, like, a top 15, 20 receiver in the league.
35:20We always, like, recycle and, you know, peddle these same narratives all offseason.
35:24No one has talked about him gaining 12 to 15 pounds.
35:27And that going back to his weight as it was in Arizona.
35:30And I think during his rookie season, he kind of lost some of those contested tight window targets.
35:35And if he can go back to winning some of those, then that maybe unlocks a few touchdowns.
35:40There were times. There were times. We totally get into this in the wide receiver realm.
35:44And, like, just being fair and balanced on it.
35:47I mean, maybe I participate in it. I don't know.
35:49But we assume that, like, Bryce Young just let Ted Roa down all season.
35:53But there were times where Ted Roa let Bryce Young down.
35:56This is true. All right. Great questions. That was a great question.
36:00Okay. Oh, I have to do the outro. In front of everybody?
36:03Right. I now have to do the outro of the show.
36:06And you all get to watch me do it because it's what has to happen.
36:10So, all right. All right. This is so weird.
36:12No pressure. No pressure here. All right. All right.
36:15Once again, thank you to everyone who joined us here live at Dick's House of Sport in Buffalo.
36:20This has been absolutely electric. And special shout-out to both our friends, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and our friends at Versed as well.
36:25This has been fantastic. We've got another big show for you coming up tomorrow as Justin Boone is back once again to
36:31tell me who's been going up and down his rankings after a full slate of preseason action and roster cutdowns.
36:37So many things are happening. I mean, Quinn Ewers was traded to the Jaguars in the middle of this show.
36:42Wow. And we need Boone's full thoughts on it.
36:45He's going to have at least 20 minutes, I think, on Quinn Ewers.
36:48So, that's absolutely electric. Again, shout-out to an incredible day here at this Dick's House of Sport.
36:53It's been absolutely electric. So fantastic to be here with everyone.
36:56We are going to be back tomorrow, as I mentioned, at 4 p.m.
36:59Eastern on this YouTube channel live. As always, until then, we are out.
37:03First take. Hey, thanks for coming, everyone. Yeah, seriously.
37:05Thank you guys for your time. We really appreciate that.
37:08Thank you. Good job. Thanks, everyone. All right. Don't go too far.
37:11Don't go too far because we are going to have our first trivia session.
37:15Oh! Good job, man. Check, check. There we go.
37:18Yeah, yeah, yeah. Of course.
