A.J. Brown

NegativeInjury0:01

Currently on injured reserve with a high ankle sprain for the New England Patriots. Matt Harmon expresses concern about his age combined with a history of lower body injuries coming off this injury. Harmon cites CD Lamb's warning that high ankle sprains can ruin careers if not properly rehabbed, noting Lamb returned early last year. Without Brown, the Patriots are a D-tier WR room; with him healthy, they could be C-tier if he approaches his prior Philadelphia production. Harmon gives some credence to his eventual contribution despite current unavailability, acknowledging he may return at some point during the season.

Insight page

Alec Pierce

NegativeInjury0:01

Injured player expected to miss a significant chunk of time but may return at some point during the season. Matt Harmon gives credence to his eventual contribution despite current unavailability.

Insight page

Amon-Ra St. Brown

PositiveRole10:05

Elite WR1 and true superstar for Lions; has evolved beyond slot-based possession receiver archetype and outkicked that label; now plays outside Z receiver role, demonstrating growth as a player and expanded positional flexibility; one of Matt Harmon's all-time favorite reception perception guys.

Insight page

Baker Mayfield

PositiveInjury21:38

With Mayfield set to miss time, his dynasty stock is expected to decline; however, Matt Harmon views him as a potential buy-low candidate because on tape he's looked really good despite poor statistical output to start the season. Harmon acknowledges Mayfield is the long-term quarterback for Tampa Bay, so the injury setback may be temporary.

Insight page

Brock Purdy

PositiveProjection29:35

Matt Harmon praises Brock Purdy as "awesome" and notes he has posted two of the best quarterback games so far this season by adjusted net yards per attempt. Harmon acknowledges the defenses faced (Dolphins, Cardinals) were weak but still credits Purdy as "a talent elevator" for the 49ers offense, supporting the team's A-tier designation despite injury concerns.

Insight page

Bryce Lance

NegativeRole24:28

Bryce Lance is a complementary receiver in the Saints offense currently in a sacrificial role, but he has the ability to run and stretch the defense.

Insight page

Caleb Douglas

PositiveRole36:36

Matt Harmon likes what he's seen from Caleb Douglas so far as a vertical X receiver in Miami's developing wide receiver room. Harmon acknowledges the Dolphins are currently a D-tier receiver team with a collection of role players rather than high-end starters, but notes there is developmental potential in the room over time.

Insight page

CeeDee Lamb

PositiveProjection4:11

Elite WR1 for Dallas Cowboys ranked in the top 5-8 range of NFL receivers. Matt Harmon describes him as the metronome and foundation of the offense who has been incredible to start the season. Part of one of the best wide receiver duos in the NFL alongside George Pickens. His presence, combined with Pickens and WR3 Ryan Fontenot, elevates Dallas to S-tier (number one overall team) status in Harmon's receiver room rankings.

Insight page

Chris Bell

PositiveRole36:36

Matt Harmon evaluates Chris Bell as a talented player in Miami's wide receiver room, saying Bell "has the juice" and "really got a lot of talent." Harmon acknowledges the Dolphins are currently a D-tier receiver team with a collection of role players rather than high-end starters, but notes there is developmental potential in the room over time.

Insight page

Chris Godwin

NegativeBust21:15

Chris Godwin is having a slow start to the season and is now a solid role player, but just not the guy he used to be. Despite being one of Matt Harmon's all-time favorite draft prospects from a reception perception standpoint with a huge hit in 2017 charting, it's not the same for Godwin anymore.

Insight page

Chris Olave

PositiveProjection22:38

Chris Olive is playing at an all-pro level right now and has been fantastic to start the season. Matt Harmon ranks him as a top-10 dynasty receiver (higher than 10th) based on his excellent football. Olive has elite chemistry with quarterback Tyler Shuck and displays a superstar ceiling. Harmon updated his dynasty rankings at the end of last week to reflect Olive's excellent play. With Jordan Tyson expected to return from IR, the Saints could have an elite wide receiver room that becomes S-tier if Tyson reaches 90% of his expected potential.

Insight page

Christian Watson

PositiveProjection15:49

Green Bay Packers receiver with strong early-season performance and continued route-running development; winning against zone coverage at solid rate while his man coverage route running has taken another step forward this year. Watson built on strong reception perception gains from last season.

Insight page

D.J. Moore

PositiveRole40:29

DJ Moore has had a strong start to his Buffalo Bills tenure despite a week two injury, with an excellent week one performance. Matt Harmon credits the fit: Moore's skill set aligns with Josh Allen's play style and the Bills' vertical offense, unlike his fit in Ben Johnson's system. Moore is operating as a high-target-share vertical option, elevating the Bills from D-tier to B-tier WR room.

Insight page

Demario Douglas

NegativeRole38:48

Matt Harmon evaluates Demario Douglas as a complementary slot receiver who shouldn't be a full-time slot option. Harmon criticizes Douglas for not being a good enough zone beater, noting he performs well in man coverage situations but struggles against zone coverage. Harmon argues it's difficult for a below-average zone beater to be a high-end starting slot receiver, yet the Patriots keep returning to Douglas in that role.

Insight page

DeVonta Smith

PositiveRole5:20

A-tier WR1 for Philadelphia; superstar player with excellent start to season. Great route runner and one of the better deep ball trackers in the NFL. Back in his natural X-receiver role after previous time elsewhere. Easily capable of being a number one receiver.

Insight page

Drake London

PositiveProjection17:11

Atlanta Falcons receiver with elite efficiency metrics and strong production with Michael Penix Jr.; ranked second in NFL in yards per route run after just one game with Penix in week three. In 15 games with Penix, London has 1,341 yards (89.4 per game). Penix targets London on 40% of his routes because London creates separation and wins contested balls. Despite being slow in open field, London remains capable of top-tier NFL receiver production when paired with competent quarterback; with Penix clearing the bar as a competent QB (unlike Cooper Rush), London produces like a top-level receiver.

Insight page

George Pickens

PositiveRole4:11

High-end X-receiver and complementary piece to CeeDee Lamb in one of the best wide receiver duos in the NFL. Matt Harmon notes he will have ebbs and flows but makes a perfect complement as the X receiver alongside Lamb despite not having a massive game to start the season. Part of Dallas's S-tier (number one overall) receiver room.

Insight page

Jalen Coker

PositiveBreakout18:48

Jaylen Coker is a freaking baller and the standout from the disappointing 2024 wide receiver draft class. As an undrafted free agent, he's saving the group and credibly the second-best receiver from that class. He's definitely better than Marvin Harrison on both results and film. Matt Harmon has been ahead of consensus on Coker for a long time and remains really ahead of consensus on him.

Insight page

Jameson Williams

NegativeRole10:34

WR2 qualified to play across from St. Brown; frustrating in fantasy due to volatility but very valuable to Lions; positional flexibility allows him to play Z receiver role depending on formation; positioned to have massive games in coming weeks.

Insight page

Jayden Higgins

NegativeInjury0:19

Season-ending injury excludes him from Matt Harmon's receiving room rankings; will not play at all this season.

Insight page

Jayden Reed

NegativeInjury15:20

Green Bay Packers slot receiver with uncertain injury status and limited role ceiling; suffered brutal injury with unclear timeline for return or whether he will play again this season. Even when healthy, Reed is constrained to slot receiver role with no apparent expansion opportunity; Packers appear unwilling to expand his responsibilities beyond that position.

Insight page

Jordyn Tyson

PositiveProjection23:48

Jordan Tyson is currently on IR but expected to contribute at some point. Matt Harmon was excited pre-season about the Tyson-Chris Olive duo and is even more excited now given Olive's strong start. Tyson was the best zone-beating receiver in the 2024 draft class and a top-five zone beater since the 2021 draft class per reception perception charting. If Tyson reaches 90% of his expected potential, the Saints will have an elite wide receiver room that could become S-tier.

Insight page

Justin Jefferson

PositiveProjection11:40

One of the best wide receivers in the world and probably the best receiver of the reception perception era in terms of tracked career performance. Has multiple finishes among the best WRs in the NFL in every season; unbelievable player. Currently dealing with a little ankle injury but it doesn't really matter.

Insight page

Kalif Raymond

PositiveRole13:05

Surprising role elevation as leading receiver on Chicago Bears; Matt Harmon did not anticipate this outcome. Super valuable player who knows Ben Johnson's offense; excellent layup target averaging under six yards per target this season. At age 32, still has speed and juice; helping move chains and making plays in open field.

Insight page

Kyle Williams

NegativeRole39:12

Matt Harmon describes Kyle Williams as a vertical role player for the New England Patriots who has some speed but hasn't yet rounded out all the details in his game. Williams is part of the Patriots' collection of role players in their C-tier wide receiver room.

Insight page

Malachi Fields

PositiveRole8:26

Day 2 rookie WR for New York Giants with multi-role potential; playing insert blocker and tough physical power slot option at times while also capable of winning on downfield vertical routes; could eventually be a solid number two receiver, though not quite there yet.

Insight page

Malik Nabers

NegativeInjury9:11

C-tier WR1 for New York Giants; not 100% yet after serious shoulder injury in week two; not running a lot of downfield routes; running more shorter routes along the line of scrimmage to get easy targets; not himself on tape per Matt Harmon's charting.

Insight page

Malik Washington

PositiveRole36:36

Matt Harmon recommends Malik Washington as a fantasy option in Miami's wide receiver room, preferring him over Miami running backs given Devon Achane's season-ending injury. Harmon describes Washington as a quality player who has been used more down the field this season and can handle designer touches that Achane was receiving. Washington has three rushing attempts on the season. Harmon highlights Washington's ability to win one-on-one situations as a Z receiver and slot player.

Insight page

Marvin Harrison Jr.

PositiveRole32:17

Matt Harmon evaluates Marvin Harrison as a perfectly solid but underperforming fourth overall pick who plays a low-percentage X receiver role with limited target consistency. Harmon expected him to be way better in the NFL given his draft capital and pedigree. He's acceptable in his role and will have useful moments (e.g., dig route catch against press coverage in week 3), but Michael Wilson is clearly better. Role limitation is the primary constraint; quarterback Jacob Sett hasn't pushed the ball downfield much, limiting Harrison's opportunities.

Insight page

Matthew Golden

PositiveBreakout16:05

Green Bay Packers receiver emerging as pleasant surprise with strong opportunity volume and separation ability; earning increased targets through ability to separate in areas key to his prospect profile, particularly on big in-breaking routes and as ex-receiver. Despite some contested-situation mistakes and drops, Golden's opportunity and performance justify increased role in wide receiver duo.

Insight page

Michael Wilson

PositiveRole32:17

Matt Harmon describes Michael Wilson as "freaking awesome" and "a really good player" in Arizona Cardinals offense who deserves all the credit he's gotten. Wilson plays the Z receiver role and complements Marvin Harrison's skill set well; currently Wilson is the Z to Harrison's X, though Harmon thinks they could be used more interchangeably. Wilson is clearly better than Harrison.

Insight page

Mike Evans

PositiveValue21:00

Mike Evans is a really good solid player playing well as the Z receiver in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense. On tape he's looked really good despite a slow start to the season. With Baker Mayfield going to miss time, Evans' dynasty stock may tip down a little bit, but Matt Harmon thinks he might be a solid buy because he's a better player than the stats would say to start the season. Harmon also rates Evans as a WR1 and calls him "still that guy, still getting it done, still a really excellent starting receiver." Despite the Buccaneers being injury-plagued, Harmon has "such respect for Mike Evans" and maintains them as an A-tier team largely because of Evans' consistent performance.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

PositiveProjection24:48

Puka Nakua is currently injured, making the Rams difficult to evaluate, but Matt Harmon rates them as S-tier because when healthy, Nakua is one of the best receivers in the NFL. He is a better route runner and technician than credited, took a significant step up in his second season as both a man and zone coverage beater, knows the right spots to settle, and excels on in-cuts key to the Rams offense. Long-term, his role should remain quarterback-friendly even if the Rams transition away from Matthew Stafford.

Insight page

Ricky Pearsall

NegativeInjury0:19

Season-ending injury excludes him from Matt Harmon's receiving room rankings; will not play at all this season.

Insight page

Romeo Doubs

NegativeRole38:25

Matt Harmon evaluates Romeo Dobbs as a potential wide receiver two option for the New England Patriots, though more accurately a really good wide receiver three. Dobbs doesn't even lead the team in snaps, with M. Collins leading the team in snap count. The Patriots are rated as a C-tier receiver team because they theoretically have a wide receiver one but lack a true wide receiver two level player.

Insight page

Stefon Diggs

PositiveProjection7:03

A-tier WR1B for Washington; played incredible football to start the season and has been excellent; one of Matt Harmon's all-time favorite reception perception guys; pseudo WR1B type who can function as a metronome in the passing game.

Insight page

Terry McLaurin

PositiveUsage7:03

A-tier WR1B/1A for Washington; running more from the slot this season (21.6% snap share) than since 2021; had a big game against Seattle; one of Matt Harmon's all-time favorite reception perception guys; can function as a metronome in the passing game.

Insight page

Tory Horton

NegativeBreakout31:37

Matt Harmon believes Tory Horton could emerge as a really good number two receiver across from Jackson Smith-Njigba and would be a perfect complement to JSN; however, injury durability is the key concern preventing him from reaching that potential. Harmon expresses frustration: "I really wish Tory Horton could stay healthy and emerge."

Insight page

Xavier Legette

NegativeRole19:58

Xavier Legette is a fine wide receiver three from the disappointing 2024 draft class who can make some plays but shouldn't be asked to do too much. He's part of the Panthers' questionable depth beyond their top duo of McMillan and Coker.

0:00What's going on everyone? I'm Matt Harmon. Welcome to a 32 team ranking here presented by Lisa. We are going to rank all 32 NFL receiving rooms after
0:10just 3 weeks of the NFL season with some historical context. We're going to put them into five tiers. This is going to
0:16be a hell of a video. Let's get into it.
0:2832 team ranking presented by Lisa. Man, I am so excited about this one here. We are going to sort all 32 NFL team wide
0:37receiver rooms into five tiers. If you know me, you know I love a tiered ranking. I live by the tiers. I die by
0:44the tiers. I don't want to argue too much within the tiers. This goes for my fantasy rankings, my dynasty rankings, and it goes for this video, too. All
0:51right, we're going to place all 32 teams into tiers. I'm not going to really try to rank them within the tier. I'll let
0:58you guys argue about that in the comments and and debate and discuss amongst yourselves. You know, if you really want some clarification from me,
1:04you can hit me up. That's fine. I I might parse out whether this team or that team should be higher. Anyways,
1:10little rules and caveats here before we get into it. I am currently kind of assuming that injured players who are not out for
1:20the season will make some contributions this year. So, for example, I'm not considering guys like Ricky Pearsall, Jayden Higgins involved because they
1:28will not play at all this season.
1:30However, I am going to at least give some credence, a little nod to guys like Alec Pierce or A.J. Brown when
1:37considering and and other players of that ilk who are going to miss a good chunk of time, but might be back at some
1:43portion of the season. Not every single room as it exists right now here entering into week four just because that would be a tortured exercise for
1:52one. And I also kind of like this to live and breathe and be a little bit more evergreen than just this current
1:58moment in time. However, again, that's what we're going to do. Now, the five tiers, we're going to show them on the
2:04screen as S A B C D tier, etc. However, I'm kind of thinking of the tiers in this way. Tier one is going to be I have
2:13little to no issues with the room overall. Tier two, the A tier, this is strong wide receiver ones with good complements throughout the room.
2:24Tier three is going to be they have a good duo and or maybe depth. That would be probably the most crowded room of
2:31tiers here. C tier, that is they have a wide receiver one but not a wide receiver two level player. And then the
2:38D tier is just a collection of role players. And I'm ranking them this way in terms of the five tiers because this
2:46is how I personally would like to build a wide receiver room. Obviously, you'd love to have what's an elite duo, great
2:52stuff in the S tier. I think A tier is it's that strong wide receiver one that you can build the whole thing out of and
2:58a strong group of complements. Maybe it's a solid number two and a solid three, a good pass catching group overall. That's my preferred way over a
3:08hey, it's a it's a good duo, you know, which is the third tier here. So, this is obviously this is my video. It gets
3:15to be some of my biases and my preferences when we're looking at this here. And also, I'm not considering tight ends, okay? So, when we get to the
3:22Raiders, yes, they have Brock Bowers, he's the wide receiver-ish tight end one, he's still a tight end, okay? It is what it is. I'm not considering that.
3:29When we talk about the Niners, I'm not considering George Kittle in this. It is just the wide receivers. I only chart
3:35wide receivers. I don't chart tight ends. I will never chart a tight end.
3:38Those are the rules and regulations of the video. We're going to go by conference. We're going to start in the NFC and we're going to go division by
3:44division. So, let's waste no more time.
3:46Let's get into it here. We're going to start in the NFC East.
3:51Which is great because we're going to go Dallas Cowboys and they are a tier one and S tier team for me. You have one of
3:59if not the best wide receiver duos in the NFL in CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.
4:05Uh those two guys are awesome. We know that. Uh George Pickens I know hasn't had like a massive massive game to start
4:11the season.
4:13Don't don't care. Couldn't care less about that. We know that George Pickens he will have some ebbs and flows, which is why he makes a great compliment as
4:20the X receiver alongside CeeDee Lamb.
4:23CeeDee Lamb by the way has been incredible to start this year. He is an elite receiver in my opinion. Certainly someone that belongs in that top five to
4:33seven-ish, maybe five to eight range when we're ranking NFL wide receivers.
4:37He's the wide receiver one in this offense, the metronome. You can build the whole plane out of him. The fact they have George Pickens as again that
4:43high high high-end X receiver alongside of him, it's a perfect complimentary duo and I really like Rondale Moore as a wide receiver three, which is why if we
4:51were if we were to truly rank these out, I think I ultimately would go with them as the number one overall team here just
5:00because I really like their three, especially when kind of looking at some of the other teams that I'm going to have as we get into
5:06uh the rest of the first tier teams. But yeah, so Dallas first tier S tier little to no issues with this room overall.
5:13Going to the next NFC East team, let's talk about the Philadelphia Eagles here.
5:17They just played I'm recording this on Tuesday morning. They just played on Monday Night Football uh last night.
5:22What we saw for them uh is that they do indeed have a great wide receiver one.
5:26So they're a tier two team for me, an A tier team. Strong wide receiver one with good compliments. And the good
5:33compliments is key here because yeah, DeVonta Smith superstar player excellent number one. We saw him win uh go route down the football field in
5:43tight coverage. I thought it was good coverage by Jaylon Johnson in man-to-man and DeVonta Smith was lined up as the X
5:49receiver. Devonta Smith has been a good X receiver in the NFL before and now he's back into that role this year and
5:55he's had an excellent start to the season. A great route runner, one of the better deep ball trackers in the NFL.
6:02The guy's a stud.
6:04Easily capable of being a number one receiver. I also like the group of compliments that they have around him.
6:09Dontayvion Wicks, you know, he's going to have his mistakes, he's going to have his issues, but I think he's played really well to start this year. Runs
6:15some good routes in the intermediate area. We saw the blaze out against the Bears on Monday Night Football. Had a really nice in route win against the
6:22Tennessee Titans that Jalen Hurts hit in stride there. I like Wicks as a passable number two, ideally a number three and
6:30long term, I'm definitely still in on Mims. It's been a slow start to his rookie season as expected with the hamstring injury and everything like
6:37that, but let's cut out some of these designery screen-based targets and let's get him working as a true receiver. I think we'll see better and better from
6:45him as the year goes on. Okay, next team in the NFC East, let's go to the Washington Commanders. They're a B tier
6:53team to me. They have a good duo and or maybe depth and frankly, I don't know. I might be underrating them
7:00when I'm grouping them as the B tier team because I really like Terry McLaurin and Stefon Diggs are two of my all-time favorite
7:08reception perception guys, especially Diggs.
7:12I could really flirt with them being more of an A. You know what? Actually, let's let's make the let's make the
7:16change. I'm going to go A tier. I'm going to go A tier for the Washington Commanders because Diggs has played incredible football to start this
7:23season. He's been excellent. He is like still a pseudo wide receiver 1B type to me. Terry McLaurin is also a wide
7:32receiver 1B 1A type.
7:35I think these guys could be metronomes in the passing game, both of them. I'd love to see Terry McLaurin running more
7:41from the slot this year than he has since 2021.
7:45And it's only 21.6% snaps in the slot so far this season, but it's more than he's had since the 2021 season. I love to see
7:51that from Terry. Had a big game against the Seattle Seahawks showing that he still absolutely got it. He's looked really good on tape to me. Antonio
7:58Williams is also on the come up and the fact that Williams is a guy who I really think by the end of his rookie season
8:04could emerge and continue to eat here.
8:07That's ultimately why I'm going to go ahead and say they're an A-tier team.
8:10So, I think the reason they fit in that category is that either McLaurin or Diggs is a strong wide receiver one and
8:18they also have those good complements.
8:20Whether it's Antonio Williams, you know, Dyami Brown, Treylon Burks, these guys are like kind of sacrificial vertical receivers. And then Diggs and McLaurin,
8:26either one of those guys honestly could be a strong wide receiver one. So, yeah, we're going to call them an A-tier team.
8:31I feel really good about that. Okay, last NFC East team is the New York Giants. And for me, they are definitely
8:38a C-tier team. They have a wide receiver one, but not a wide receiver two-level player at this moment. Um, I like
8:46Malachi Fields as someone who could eventually be a solid number two receiver, but he is a rookie. He's a day three guy. Excuse me,
8:54day two guy. He's not quite there yet. I love that Fields is playing kind of multiple roles for this team where
9:01he's been that insert blocker, like a tough physical power slot option at times, but he's also someone who is really capable of winning on the
9:10downfield vertical routes. And obviously this is all built around Malik Nabers.
9:13Nabers This it's tough to talk about Nabers right now cuz pretty clearly I've charted some of his games so far.
9:21Um, he's not himself and he's not really running a lot of downfield routes, either. He's running a lot more shorter routes along the line of scrimmage
9:28trying to get him some of those layups.
9:30He's just not 100% yet. As to be expected coming back from a serious injury.
9:35And he popped that shoulder out in week two. So, ultimately, this is where the Giants are. They have a wide receiver one,
9:41Neighbors, when he's himself is a wide receiver one. Just don't think they have a wide receiver two level player right now. So, that's where we sit
9:49with New York Giants. And that's the NFC East. Let's go to the next division here. We're going to go to the
9:55NFC North. And let's stick with an A-tier Excuse me, an S-tier team. We'll go Detroit Lions as an S-tier team. Um
10:05for one, they have Amon-Ra St. Brown, who is an elite receiver, a a true superstar, just a complete stud. Every single year, he's so good.
10:16Um I did a whole solo spotlight breakdown on Amon-Ra St. Brown on the channel prior to the season. Talked about his growth as a player and why
10:24some of the kind of oh, caveats, he's a slot-based guy, possession guy, doesn't really matter anymore for him. He's outkicked that. So, he's great. Uh he's
10:33a number one. Jameson Williams, I know he's frustrating in fantasy, but he's very valuable to the Lions and is certainly qualified to be a number two
10:41receiver across from a real consistent player in Amon-Ra St. Brown. And Isaac TeSlaa, another guy that's not going to get a lot of targets from a fantasy
10:47standpoint cuz Jahmyr Gibbs is going to eat, Sam LaPorta is going to eat, but he allows them to play him on ball, which
10:53allows St. Brown to kick outside as a Z receiver. It allows Jameson Williams to play some Z receiver as well because St.
11:01Brown can also play credibly on the ball depending on the formation. So, he allows them to unlock a few things. He's
11:07also going to make a handful of plays himself. He had a couple of nice grabs so far this season, including on Sunday
11:14against the New York Jets. So, I'll go with them as an S-tier team.
11:18Really feel good about what they have in the wide receiver room, even if again, rostering Jameson Williams in fantasy, it's a roller coaster, but you knew that
11:26when you drafted him, or at least you should have. And he's going to have a massive game at any point here in the
11:31next few weeks. Okay, let's go to NFC North and let's talk about the Minnesota Vikings. They to me are an A-tier team.
11:40A strong wide receiver with good compliments.
11:44Justin Jefferson, one of the best wide receivers in the world, one of the best wide receivers that you're ever going to, you know,
11:52see.
11:54He's elite.
11:55Probably I think he's probably the best receiver of the Reception Perception era.
12:00In terms of a guy that we've tracked his whole career in Reception Perception. He has multiple finishes among the best wide receiver in the NFL in every given
12:09any given season.
12:10I mean, he's I don't know what to say about him. He's unbelievable. Dealing with a little bit of an ankle injury
12:14right now. It doesn't really matter.
12:16But yeah, he's unbelievable. Great player. Jordan Addison to me is a little bit more of a inconsistent number two.
12:23You know, when we're talking about Jameson Williams versus Jordan Addison, they're actually kind of cut from a similar cloth, but Jordan Addison just isn't quite as
12:32explosive as Jameson Williams. So again, kind of a good number two. I think he fits in this kind of good compliments
12:38range. And then there are other interesting players on the roster like Juwan Jennings is a solid role player.
12:43Ty Felton is there, but it's really is all about Justin Jefferson to me. And I think Jordan Addison, like I said, good number
12:50two, but not a guy that I'd like to see as a one where it's, you know, it's kind of some of these players like a George
12:55Pickens type. I'd be curious to see what he could do as a number one wide receiver. Okay, next team in the NFC North. Let's go
13:03Chicago Bears. And for the Bears, I'm going to have them as B-tier team. They have a good duo and/or maybe depth. And
13:12when we're talking about the duo, is it Kahlif Raymond and Luther Burden? Is it Kahlif Raymond and Rome Odunze? I mean,
13:17we're it's Kahlif Raymond's world and we're all living in it right now. He's the leading receiver on the Chicago Bears, which hand up, did not see that
13:24one coming. I thought Kahlif Raymond would be like a really good role player for this team. He's been more than that.
13:28He's been super valuable. Look, he knows Ben Johnson's offense.
13:32Really good layup target. He averages under six air yards per target this season. He's been someone who's just helping them move the chains and making
13:39some plays in the open field as well.
13:42He's a 32-year-old receiver who's still got some juice. Like this guy's got speed. He definitely not just a slug out there. So, really like the role that
13:49Raymond is playing and I think better days will be ahead for Luther Burden and Jameson Williams as well. I mean, listen, again, I like I mentioned, I'm
13:57recording this on Tuesday morning here, September 29th.
14:02Jameson Williams embarrassing me in public with that drop in the end zone.
14:06I'm still very, very frustrated about that and that's been too big of an issue for Rome. I I think he looks awesome as
14:12a separator. I think he's looked awesome as a route runner and as a separator all throughout basically his NFL career, especially the first half of last year
14:19and then what I've seen these last two weeks on tape.
14:23Oh my god, but the drops have to stop.
14:25The drops have to get corrected and it's something that wasn't a part of his college profile. It's been a huge theme
14:29of his NFL career so far and you know, look, you're not going to get 10 opportunities per game in this offense. Nobody is, especially now that
14:36Kalif Raymond has emerged.
14:39You got to make good on the passes that come your way and not and not drop wide open passes in the end zone. So,
14:46frustrated about Jameson Williams right now in that regard, but still a player that I I certainly believe in. And Luther Burden is awesome. Luther Burden
14:52started a little slow with that groin injury that he came back from in preseason. First two weeks, little shaky, but had a good game last
15:00night, especially running in the open field. Just a tough physical player that if he can tighten out the details as a
15:05route runner, he could be an excellent number one receiver. For now, they're still a little bit more of a projection, so I will have them
15:12as good duo / maybe depth overall. All right, I'll also stick in this same tier for my last NFC North team and that is
15:20the Green Bay Packers. Again, a little bit difficult because we're talking about the Jayden Reed injury right now.
15:25Like I don't know when Jayden Reed is going to play, if he will play again this season after a brutal injury, but
15:32he's a good slot receiver, somebody that has his limited role and doesn't really seem like he he can expand beyond that.
15:38I've thought at times during his NFL career maybe he could play more than that slot receiver position, but I just don't think the Packers want to put
15:44anything more on his plate and I'm sure they have their reasons for that.
15:48Meanwhile though, Christian Watson has looked excellent to start this year after really taking a step last season in reception perception.
15:56Man, he's he's winning against zone coverage at a solid rate. His man coverage route running has I think taken another step
16:02forward this year. So, Christian Watson looks awesome and Matthew Golden has really been a pleasant surprise to start this year. I was kind of a Matthew
16:09Golden centrist both as a prospect and also after his rookie year where there were some good moments, there were some inconsistent moments. It wasn't like a
16:17terrible rookie season on film, but it wasn't so special that I was like, "Oh my god, they got to get this guy the
16:22football more." So far this year he has not been free of mistakes, some gaps in contested situations, some drops, but you know, he's still getting
16:33a lot of opportunity. He's earning that opportunity with his ability to separate in the areas that were key to his prospect profile.
16:41These big in-breaking routes, playing a ton of X receiver as well for this team.
16:46Hard to argue with what you've seen out of this wide receiver duo so far.
16:51The depth is questionable without Reed, so I feel pretty comfortable having them as a B tier team. Okay, let's go to the
16:58next division and we'll talk NFC South.
17:02A lot of really interesting wide receiver rooms here. Let's start with the Atlanta Falcons though to get our first C tier uh no, second C tier team
17:10in the mix and yeah, they feel pretty obvious as a C tier to me. Drake London is a freaking superstar. Drake London is
17:16now second in the NFL in yards per route run after just one game.
17:21Just one game with Michael Penix. That's all it took. A disastrous start for Drake London from a production standpoint. Who cares about that? Nobody
17:30cares about that. We all know that Drake London is an excellent football player and Michael Penix knows it. Michael Penix targeted on 40% of his routes in
17:39that game in week three because Drake London gets open. He creates separation for a big guy. He's a ball winner. Is he
17:45slow in the open field? Yeah. If he was faster in the open field, he'd be, you know, Mike Evans. Okay, he'd be Jamar
17:52Chase. I don't know, but you know, he's he's not. So, who cares? Doesn't really matter. Still capable of being one of
17:58the most productive receivers in the NFL. He's played 15 games with Michael Penix so far.
18:02He has 1,341 yards in those 15 games. So, yeah, when Penix is in there, he produces like a top-level receiver cuz Penix at least
18:11clears the bar. Guys like Cooper Rush and whatever, they do not. So, Drake London is awesome. My guy Jahan Dotson, you know,
18:19solid little wide receiver three, but not a wide receiver two level player.
18:21So, that is why they are in this tier.
18:23They're hoping that someone can emerge as that number two receiver. I don't know that that's going to happen with the guys currently on the roster. Okay,
18:31next NFC South team. Let's talk Carolina Panthers. They are a B tier team to me.
18:38They have a good duo, maybe even a great duo in Terrace Marshall and Jaylen Coker.
18:44Terrace has gotten, you know, a little bit of bad press after his week three game. You know, just didn't really show up in the final drive of the game
18:51when they're without Jaylen Coker.
18:54I don't really care about that. Went back and charted the film. I thought he was solid in the game.
18:59I think he's been solid to good so far this year. He's a good player. Jaylen Coker has been better so far. Jaylen
19:05Coker is a freaking baller, man. Like the whole 2024 wide receiver draft class has been disappointing from a results-based perspective and some of
19:13these guys have been disappointing on film, too, for sure.
19:16Coker's kind of saving the group as the undrafted free agent. After I mean, listen, when Malik Nabers is healthy, he's still the best receiver from that
19:22draft class.
19:25Is Coker the second best? I mean, I think you could really credibly make that argument. Like, he's definitely better than Marvin Harrison. He's
19:30definitely better than some of the other guys. He's I think he's been better so far in the NFL than Roman Wilson has.
19:35It's probably in my mind from a film-based perspective pretty close.
19:39But, pretty hard to pick nits in what Jaylen Coker is right now. I mean, you guys know this if you watch the channel,
19:45you follow Reception Perception, you know I've been ahead of consensus on this guy for a long time. I remain really ahead of consensus on him. So,
19:51they have a great duo. Their depth is definitely a little questionable, especially when Xavier Legette Legette's part of that 24 draft class, by the way,
19:59that's been disappointing.
20:01He's like a fine wide receiver three.
20:02He's fine. Like, he can make some plays, but you don't want to ask too much of him. Now, when he's out, then it's kind
20:08of questionable the depth beyond those guys. But, the fact that they have an awesome duo, I think one of the more
20:13underrated duos in the NFL, Mcmillan and Coker, they belong in the B tier to me. Okay, next NFC South team. Let's
20:20talk about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, you know, they're a tough team to sort, in my opinion. The Tampa Buccaneers are
20:32>> [snorts] >> Like, I don't know if I can call I can't really call them an A tier team cuz Abuka's been
20:40I I think Abuka actually on tape has been quite good.
20:44Um, it's not his fault, the slow start to the season.
20:47>> [sighs] >> But, I think I'll ultimately settle with them as a B tier team.
20:51I think I'll think I'll settle them as a B tier team because, I mean, I don't really think it's intellectually honest
20:56to put them as an A tier team when I think Mcmillan, you know, Abuka's probably a toss-up.
21:04Uh, probably would go towards Mcmillan right now.
21:07And Coker is definitely better than anyone on the probably anyone on the Bucks roster. Yeah, the the Chris Godwin thing is difficult to talk about right
21:15now because Godwin is again one of my all-time favorite draft prospects from a reception perception standpoint. 2017 charting was a huge hit for RP. One of
21:24my favorite receivers of this last era, but you know, it's just it's not the same for Godwin. It's not the same for him.
21:32So, um slow start to the season for him.
21:35I think he's a solid role player at this point, but just not the guy that he used to be. Again, Abuka is really good. He's
21:40somebody that I I would like to kind of especially now that Mayfield's going to miss time and probably his dynasty stock
21:46tips down a little bit. I actually think Abuka might be a solid buy because I think Otay P's looked really good. And
21:52Baker's just been bad like and Baker's the quarterback for a long term. So, you know, maybe this is all for naught, but
21:58I do think Abuka is a better player than the stats would say to start the season.
22:02Maybe not the guy that he was in the first five weeks of his rookie season.
22:06You know, that was probably always going to be hard to repeat, but is a really good solid player who's who's playing
22:10well as the Z receiver in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense. Someone that is I mean I I think a good player. And Ted
22:17Hurst, he's someone who could grow and develop and emerge. He's had definitely had some moments to start this year. So, they're kind of that definitely some
22:25depth. Maybe have a good duo in Godwin and Abuka. So, ultimately I'll go B tier for them. Final NFC South team. Let's talk New Orleans
22:34Saints and they're an A tier team to me.
22:38They're an A tier team to me because man, Chris Olave is playing at an all pro level right now. He has been
22:45fantastic. I updated my dynasty rankings on the site uh at the end of last week. Chris Olave, I mean it should easily be a top 10
22:53receiver in dynasty right now. I have him higher than 10. Let's just put it He's top 10 receiver and he's not 10.
22:57Let's put it that way. Um he's playing excellent football right now. Him and Tyler Hill have elite chemistry.
23:03I Reception Perception has long pointed that Chris Olave has a superstar ceiling. We're seeing that this year.
23:09We're seeing it basically dating back to last season as well. Can't really ask much more than him. He's been fantastic to start this season. And they have a
23:15nice group of compliments, too. I mean, Deonte Harris, I know everybody makes fun of him cuz he's an older player and, you know, the
23:21trade and the whole deal, but he's rock solid. A good big slot receiver. Talked about him in the deep sleepers video
23:26that we did at the beginning of the season this year. He's been a really good deep sleeper for the Saints. Even
23:32had some fantasy moments, as well.
23:34Good complimentary receiver who you can get away with as your two and is an awesome number three. And again, to go back to the rules here, a
23:41player who is on IR but probably comes back to contribute at some point is Jordan Tyson. And man, I was excited
23:48prior to the season about the Jordan Tyson, Chris Olave duo for New Orleans.
23:52I'm even more excited now based on the way that Olave has started the season.
23:56Jordan Tyson was the best zone beating receiver of this year's draft class.
24:03Awesome success rate per zone. He was actually a top five zone beater since the 2021 draft class in Reception Perception charting. And meanwhile,
24:11Chris Olave is an elite to high-end press man coverage beater. So, they have an awesome duo there. Deonte Harris can absolutely
24:18play. Bryce Young, it's, you know, he's a sacrificial player right now, but man, he can really run. He can really stretch
24:25out the defense. So, I like the complimentary groups that they have there in New Orleans. That's a strength of the team. If Jordan Tyson can even be
24:3190% of the player people hope him to be, this is one of the really excellent wide receiver rooms that I could even see
24:37being an S-tier team in short order if Tyson is what he's all cracked up to be.
24:43Okay.
24:44Let's get to the NFC West and let's get back to an S-tier team. Let's talk Los Angeles Rams. Again, difficult to talk
24:52about right now because Puka Nacua is currently injured, but they're definitely an S-tier team to me because when Puka's healthy, when he's right,
25:00he's one of the best receivers in the NFL. Uh better route runner than credited, better technician than credited, really took a step up in his
25:07second season as a man coverage beater and a zone coverage beater, knows the right spots to settle, really good on the in cuts uh that are key to this Rams
25:15offense. I also think by the way, even without Matthew Stafford, there would be not nobody's fully quarterback proof.
25:21Justin Jefferson proved that to us last year. Uh Drake London proved that to us, you know, in the first two weeks of the
25:26season. Nobody's quarterback proof.
25:28There's a bar to clear for everybody, but still, the way that he is used is pretty quarterback friendly. So, like long term,
25:36obviously, you know, long term, if he can get a contract with the Rams, can be healthy, keeps his head on straight, the whole
25:42deal, I think his role would actually be pretty quarterback friendly whenever they transition away from Stafford. Now, the guy we should talk about here for
25:50sure is Davante freaking Adams.
25:53My god. The start to the season that Adams has had, it it might be my it might be one of my
26:00favorite, if not my favorite overall, stories in wide receiver world. And hopefully you can hear by that just even the tone of my voice how much I I loved
26:07what Adams has done the first three weeks of the season. Obviously, not having Puka Nacua there, immediately he gets pushed into the wide receiver one
26:15role. I He looks He looks fantastic, okay?
26:19Route running it ages like fine wine, baby. And route running and technique and knowing the nuances of the of the position, that is
26:27what took Davante Adams from being a guy who really really struggled in all phases of the game in his first two seasons in the
26:34NFL. Obviously, tons of drops, contested catch issues, that even as a route runner, he wasn't there yet. He [snorts] ironed all those things out and became
26:42an elite receiver. Um I know I've said the word elite a lot in this video and I kind of hate that because I it's it's a
26:48small select group of truly elite players in the NFL at any given time.
26:52and Adams doesn't belong in that tier currently anymore, but at his peak he was clearly like a capital E elite player, a Hall of Fame receiver, a guy
27:00that should moonwalk into Canton as soon as he's eligible.
27:05That's how good he is. And again, right now is he that version of himself? Maybe not, but it's hard to argue with the
27:11results. I mean, he tears up Patrick Surtain in week three because, like I said, he could be 40 years old and still
27:18know all the nuances and the tricks as a route runner and a separator, getting off the line of scrimmage against press
27:24coverage. His 2025 charting definitely showed that he took a step back as an individual player, but did not fall off the cliff
27:31whatsoever. The Rams, I think, avoided a massive disaster by not like a That would have been a huge own goal if they
27:38had traded him as they kind of explored doing in the offseason cuz, man, he still has it, and him and Stafford have
27:44excellent timing. And without him, they'd be completely banged. I do wish they had one more wideout in the room.
27:51Like, Kanata Mumphield, I think, is a solid role player, kind of a dirty work guy who, you know, is a good crafty
27:57route runner, but isn't the most explosive player in the world. Jordan Whittington, kind of another dirty work receiver. They have a lot of these type
28:03of dirty work receivers in that room there. I I do kind of wish they had one more guy.
28:08Be nice if they had drafted a rookie that could play for them this year in that wide receiver draft class, but
28:13alas, they don't. I still think they're an S-tier team cuz when Puka's right, he's awesome, and Demonte Adams is still getting that thing done. Okay.
28:21Next NFC West team.
28:22Next NFC West team. Let's talk San Francisco 49ers here.
28:26They are an A-tier team to me. Again, weird team to talk about because everybody's injured all the time, but Mike Evans
28:34still that guy, still getting it done, still a really excellent starting X receiver. I definitely think he's a wide receiver one, and they have good
28:42compliments around him. And it almost like doesn't really matter for the good compliments are, You know, if it's Deebo Samuel, he's playing well this year,
28:51at least to start, having some explosive ability, offering a little something something. You know, Jordan Watkins, like they're definitely eating into the depth for sure without
29:00DeMarcus Robinson, but like DeMarcus Robinson is a solid complementary player. Um, I'm also assuming that DeSean Stripling is going to get back in
29:07here and like DeSean Stripling when he's out there, I think he's going to be a perfect complement to Mike Evans and
29:13he's going to miss a good chunk of time, might not be back to the end of the season, so maybe I'm making a risky projection here
29:19by having them as an A-tier team, maybe they belong more as a B-tier team.
29:25But I have such respect for Mike Evans.
29:31I have such respect for Mike Evans, I'm going to keep them as an A-tier team cuz he's been awesome. And obviously again,
29:35he's going to be a little banged up all throughout the year.
29:39By the way, Brock Purdy's awesome.
29:41But the fact that I'm waffling between them being an A and a B or B-tier team and Brock Purdy, if you look at adjusted
29:46net yards per attempt, has two of the best quarterback games so far this season, the two best quarterback games so far this season adjusted net yards
29:54per attempt. And look, bad defenses, Dolphins, Cardinals, I get it.
30:00But Purdy's been awesome this year. He's a talent elevator, so I don't know, maybe they belong more as a B-tier team,
30:05but I have such respect for Mike Evans, I'm going to leave them as an A-tier team.
30:08All right, next NFC West team. Let's talk Seattle Seahawks. They also belong as an A-tier team because they have Jaxon Smith-Njigba who is
30:18unfreaking stoppable. Jaxon Smith-Njigba right now, through three weeks, has gained a first down on 24% of his routes.
30:26He is the leading receiver in yards per route run if you look at guys just over 50 routes run on the season.
30:33And like the film is as good as those stats could possibly indicate. I have no idea where this narrative comes from
30:38that he doesn't get double coverage. I mean, are you are you nuts? Like, defenses are definitely accounting for Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Do you think they're
30:45just leaving him lined up one-on-one?
30:47Like, yeah, in the highlights and stuff, sure, you're going to see him cut up routes. I mean, that happens to everybody. That happens everybody. You
30:53get left one-on-one at times. Nobody is just like double-covered throughout the course of a game. That's crazy.
30:59JSN is a superstar, elite player. Again, I keep saying elite, but we're talking about some of the best receivers in the
31:03league. It's going to end up happening, but elite receiver, set it and forget it, no question. The rumor around them, yeah, it's definitely more of the good
31:10compliments. I think Rashid Shaheed, Cooper Kupp, these guys are like supporting actors at this point in their NFL careers. So, they're definitely
31:17Yeah, they're definitely an A-tier team cuz JSN belongs in that group. He's unbelievably good. He is truly the entire offense. I mean, there
31:25It's like benefits from the run game. He doesn't benefit from the run game. The run game ain't even all that good. Like,
31:29it's it's JSN, even when Drew Lock's in there.
31:33It all flows through him. He's the entire offense. So, on his merits alone, they belong in the A-tier, but I also
31:37think Shaheed and Kupp and my guy Tory Horton, if he can ever stay healthy, are good complementary players. Oh, man, I
31:44really wish Tory Horton could stay healthy and emerge cuz I think that guy could be a really good number two receiver across from JSN and kind of a
31:51perfect complement as well. Okay, final NFC West team and final NFC team overall, yes, it's the Arizona Cardinals. And they will they belong as
32:02a B-tier team.
32:03They belong as a B-tier team because they do have a good duo, and I also think they have a little bit of depth,
32:09right? Kendrick Bourne is a rock-solid receiver three. Michael Wilson is freaking awesome. Michael Wilson is a really good player.
32:16And I know it's the most topic It's It's the topic that comes with the most toxicity perhaps in wide receiver world on the
32:23internet and social media, but Marvin Harrison is a perfectly solid maybe even good starting X receiver in the NFL. Is he going to get consistently
32:34targeted? No. Because he plays in a low percentage role as an on ball kind of sacrificial at times X receiver, which
32:42really stinks for the fourth overall pick and you're Marvin Harrison's son and the whole deal. I get it. You know, I I
32:49thought he would be way better than this in the NFL, but he's perfectly acceptable in that role. He doesn't suck, okay? He's
32:58perfectly acceptable. He's going to have some games. Had a really nice catch on a dig route against press coverage uh in
33:04man-to-man situation in week number three. Like he's going to have those moments and be useful, especially if Jacoby Brissett ever start
33:13pushing that ball down the field. Hasn't really done that so far this season.
33:16Marv will have moments, but the reality is like Michael Wilson, is he better than Marv? Sure.
33:21Totally. Michael Wilson is awesome.
33:23Michael Wilson deserves all the credit that he's gotten and all the pub there.
33:26So, good duo. They complement each other's skill sets well. I actually think they could have even be used more interchangeably. Hasn't happened yet so
33:33far.
33:34Maybe that's cuz they just don't want to put any more on Harrison. They think he can only do this one thing.
33:39I don't know.
33:40I'm not with him every day.
33:42I think their roles could be a little more interchangeable, but right now Marv is the X.
33:47Mike is the Z. And then you're moving Kendrick Bourne into the mix here.
33:50That's actually a really, really good wide receiver room and if they had a Look, Jacoby Brissett, solid bridge quarterback placeholder, but if
33:57they had like a true dude at quarterback, like let's hypothetically, you drop Brock Purdy on this team, offense would be unbelievable.
34:06Um I don't know if Carson Beck is going to be the next Brock Purdy, but uh there you have it. That's where the NFC stacks
34:12up in the wide receiver tiers. Now, let's take a quick break and talk about our sponsor, Lisa. Uh if I was ranking
34:22mattresses, uh I would only rank one. I would rank Lisa as an S tier mattress because my god, this thing is
34:30incredible. I have myself a Lisa mattress. My pals at Leesa were very kind to send one out to me and my wife,
34:37and it has made a massive difference in our sleep quality, my desire to get in bed, stay in bed. Look, I'll admit this.
34:47I try to be an early riser. I try to get my butt up out of bed, make my breakfast right away, get my
34:53walk in before getting my work day started. It's a little >> [laughter] >> It's If Leesa has done one thing that maybe
34:59has been quote negative for me, it's been a little difficult to get out of that bed. It is super comfortable. I
35:03want to stay in there, you know, maybe hit that snooze alarm a little longer, but I got to resist the temptation.
35:09There are routes to chart. There are receivers to rank. There are tiers here.
35:12And and that is the only thing that I would say has been negative about the Leesa mattress is it's so damn
35:17comfortable that I want to stay in that thing all day long. Tons of options to pick through in whatever size you're looking
35:24for, different varieties of mattress.
35:26Leesa has everything you could possibly want in a mattress. This thing has been a game changer for me. I think it will

36:36Spoiler alert, some questionable wide receiver rooms in this one. You know, and because we haven't got one yet, let's go to the Miami Dolphins.
36:44I don't think anybody will be surprised here.
36:46This is a D-tier team.
36:48Yeah, collection of role players. Look, in time, could Caleb Douglas, Chris Bell, Malik Washington be an interesting wide receiver room? Sure. It's just hard
36:56to say that that's where we're at at this point.
36:59I like what Miami's doing.
37:01I like that they're not messing around with veterans and that sort.
37:06I mean, Malik has been in the league for a few years. I like Malik Washington, too. I think he's a little quality
37:10player and I think that it's been nice to see him used down the field a little bit more this season.
37:15I actually think, by the way, with Devon Achane, unfortunately, out for the season, if I was to make a fantasy suggestion
37:20here, I'd actually rather get Malik Washington than mess around with any of these backs because, look, this season is not going to be a good team. It
37:26wasn't working for Achane in fantasy.
37:28It's not going to work for these other backs. I would rather get Washington who had two rushes after uh Achane got hurt
37:35against the Kansas City Chiefs. Actually had a rush attempt the week before, too.
37:38He has three on the season.
37:40Tough, rugged player that I liked as a prospect in that regard. Can do the designer touches stuff that Achane was certainly getting those or and probably
37:46honestly should have been getting more of those designer touches. Malik can do that. And he's also a guy that I think
37:52can win in some one-on-one situations uh as a Z receiver, as a slot. I like what I've seen from Caleb Douglas so far as a
37:59vertical X receiver. And Chris Bell, he has the juice. He's really got a lot of talent. Again, it's just tough to say
38:06right now they're anything more than a D-tier team. They're definitely a collection of role players and just not uh really uh
38:14a high-end starting receiver room at this point. But in time, there's definitely some developmental potential there.
38:19>> [gasps] >> Okay, next uh AFC East team.
38:23Let's talk New England Patriots. They are a C-tier team because theoretically they have a wide receiver one. They do not have a wide receiver two level
38:32player.
38:33I think Romeo Dobbs can kind of sort of moonlight.
38:39He can kind of sort of moonlight as a wide receiver two, but probably more so a really good three.
38:44He doesn't even lead the team in snaps by the way by the way that would be Mack Hollins. I think Mack Hollins is a dirty
38:50work complimentary guy.
38:52Demario Douglas is kind of a complimentary slot shouldn't be a full-time slot. Complimentary slot he's not enough he's not a good enough zone
38:57beater. Good in man coverage situations not a good zone beater. It's tough to be like a below average zone beater and be
39:03a high-end starting slot, but they keep landing back on the Demario Douglas circle for whatever reason. Kyle Williams vertical role player someone
39:11that's got some speed, but definitely hasn't rounded out all the details just yet. So it's certainly a collection of role players in the room and then they
39:18have AJ Brown who is currently on IR and I don't even know what AJ Brown is going to look like when he comes like if we
39:23remove AJ Brown from the equation they're a D-tier team, but because again my rules here is I'm I'm kind of sort of
39:28counting these guys who are going to be back at some point this season. I think they belong in the C-tier, but without Brown they're
39:37definitely D-tier.
39:38In the current moment like we're just going into week four they're one of the worst wide receiver rooms in the NFL.
39:44And I also don't love the way anybody's getting used right now in this room.
39:47It's just a lot there's a lot to criticize about what's going on with the New England Patriots offense even before you get to the way that Drake Maye is
39:53playing right now. So again I have no idea what Brown is going to look like when he comes back. I was pretty worried
39:58coming into the season that he was in some form of decline, but you know hadn't totally gone off the cliff yet. I
40:03don't love a player of his age with a history of lower body injuries coming off of a high ankle sprain which every receiver I've ever
40:12talked to just says that can just completely ruin your season. CD Lamb told me last year that can actually ruin your career if you don't rehab it right,
40:20if you don't treat it right, if you try to try to come back and push it too early. And that's the guy that did come
40:24back pretty early from a high ankle sprain last year. So, we'll see what AJ Brown looks like when he comes back, but
40:29when he's available they're at least a C-tier team if he can be something close to the player he was last year for
40:34Philadelphia. But without him, yeah, they're they're pretty much banged as you've seen so far. So, yeah, C-tier team C-tier team for the New England
40:41Patriots. Okay, next AFC East team, let's go New York Jets.
40:46I have a pretty high opinion of the Jets wide receiver room. I actually think they're an A-tier team because Garrett Wilson is awesome. Garrett Wilson has
40:52been excellent so far this year. Garrett Wilson's been excellent throughout the course of his career.
40:56And, you know, Geno Smith is getting in the football, which is great to see.
40:59Garrett had an awesome catch in week three. If you just put like a highlight together of some of Garrett Wilson's best career
41:07catches, they stand up with some of the best receivers in the NFL. Again, I don't think he's quite that elite tier
41:13player. There's like a a jump down to him as a real-life NFL guy, but he's damn near close. Like he's awesome
41:20in in isolation. He always has been.
41:22Anybody who tries to galaxy brain them take galaxy brain themselves into a take that oh, it's it's some of it's Garrett Wilson's fault.
41:30It's not. He's awesome. He's excellent.
41:31And Geno Smith even just clearing a bar has been helping us to see that.
41:35AD Mitchell missed week three, but AD Mitchell is a perfectly fine complimentary number two receiver. Not perfect, he has holes in his game, for
41:44sure, but he can beat man press coverage, little shaky against somebody, he can beat man press coverage as that outside boundary
41:52receiver. He can be a vertical guy, which allows Wilson to work in the short and intermediate areas. Also again, if we're counting Omar Cooper Jr., he is
42:00also someone I think will be back at some point this year, and he can help this team. Isaiah Williams has been kind
42:05of a nice dirty work guy for them so far this year as well. So, I really like what the Jets have
42:11in the wide receiver room, especially because Garrett Wilson exists. So, yeah, they belong as an A-tier team to me. I really like what
42:18the Jets offense has looked like so far this season. I know we're not talking tight ends, we're not counting tight ends, but C.J. Uzomah
42:23looks like a grown-ass man as well.
42:25Unbelievable start for him so far in his NFL career. So, that's the New York Jets. Buffalo Bills, final AFC East team, they are a B-tier team to me,
42:34which is a massive improvement from where the Bills have been in recent seasons, okay? Previously, the Bills would have been like a freaking D-tier
42:41team, but they're a B-tier team because D.J. Moore is here. So, they get to be a B-tier team. D.J. Moore has had a nice
42:48start to his Buffalo Bills tenure, despite the fact that he had an injury in week two. Great start in week one.
42:55Khalil Shakir, a perfectly solid number two, probably best as a number three, but good solid enough number two. I'll even say Keon Coleman, who look, you
43:03guys know I was below consensus on Keon Coleman as a prospect. He's had some moments so far this year. Josh Palmer,
43:09like a good compliment play. This is the thing, like you get a guy like D.J.
43:11Moore in an offense that suits his skillset with a quarterback in Josh Allen who suits what D.J. Moore likes to do. Who
43:18D.J. can be a little loosey-goosey with the details. You know, he didn't fit Ben Johnson's offense perfectly, but he fits this offense. You've seen that so far
43:26this season as a vertical option, high target share when he's been on the field.
43:31You know, maybe when we're sitting here ranking wide receiver ones, there's going to be guys that have ahead of him, but he's perfectly fine to be the wide
43:36receiver one on this team, and everybody else just slots into a comfortable role now with this Bills team, especially because again, we're not counting tight
43:43ends in the rankings, but Dalton Kincaid being stellar to start this year has been huge for this team. I've loved watching the Bills offense so far. They
43:50belong as a B-tier team, mostly because D.J. Moore is in town. Okay, let's go to the AFC North, and let's get back to the
43:58S-tier. Let's slot the Cincinnati Bengals in as an S-tier team. Pretty hard to argue.
44:06Uh Chase, argument to be the best receiver in the NFL. Tee Higgins, argument to be the best number two receiver in the NFL. Could he moonlight
44:13as a wide receiver one elsewhere?
44:15Probably best suited as a two, at least in my personal opinion, but for a lot of teams, I mean, shoot, some of these
44:20teams that are in the in the lower tiers, they would love to have a guy like Tee Higgins. I think the only
44:27qualm you could make about the Bengals wide receiver room is they haven't really solved that wide receiver three wide receiver three position just
44:37yet.
44:39Um you know, they tried to get Ja'Marr Chase to do it. Ja'Marr Chase predictably flamed out of the NFL.
44:44Andrei Iosivas has been kind of a solid dirty work guy for them.
44:48Has had some moments. He's currently on IR. I think he'll be back at some point, but you know, definitely that position
44:55has been a problem for them kind of getting like a clear-cut high-end answer, but again, not counting tight ends here, Mike Gesicki actually is the
45:03most fake tight end in the NFL.
45:05Still, not going to count him here, but they do get some contributions from him.
45:08Ultimately though, Chase Higgins is more than enough for them to be an S-tier team. Uh maybe the best duo in the NFL.
45:15I think it's close with them and the Dallas Cowboys. Okay, let's go to another AFC North team and let's talk the Cleveland Browns. Now, the Browns, I
45:26want to make clear, can be a massive riser at some point here, but for now, just in the sake of intellectual honesty, because
45:33we're talking about two rookies as a starter, they do have to be a D-tier team.
45:37Um I've loved what I've seen from Denzel Boston and Casey Concepcion so far.
45:42You could I could totally They're They're definitely the one team I'm going to say here in the D group that has the potential to really rise. I
45:50don't know that anyone else in the D-tier, even the Dolphins, who I said kind of are the poor man's version of
45:55the Browns, where they have two rookies that I like, the Browns have two rookies I like even more. Like they have a potential to
46:02really shoot up the rankings here. I I I think in time you know, Casey and Denzel Boston by the end of the rookie season, they could be
46:10a B-tier group. But for now, just cuz it's two rookies and Jerry Jeudy not a factor.
46:17Isaiah Bond like a solid complimentary player, but this is really all about Casey and Denzel Boston.
46:24Love these guys, man.
46:26And Casey Conception is going to have a massive breakout at some point if if Deshaun could just get in the football.
46:30He looks really good on film and Denzel Boston has been excellent as well.
46:34Okay.
46:35If you want a Denzel Boston breakdown, check out the the video on the YouTube channel. We have one up there for you.
46:39Goes into detail what I've seen from him so far. Okay.
46:42Let's go to the Baltimore Ravens here.
46:45Baltimore Ravens Maybe controversial, but I'm going to put them as an A-tier team here. Zay Flowers looks incredible. Zay Flowers
46:56looks incredible so far this season.
46:58He's averaging 9 yards per route run. I know that's a small sample cuz he only played a half a game in week one, didn't
47:04play in week two, and was not really a full-time player in week number three, but it just goes to show when he's out there, I think this guy
47:11has verifiably made the leap. He is going to be one of the most productive receivers in the NFL, a top 10 receiver
47:17in fantasy football right now for sure.
47:20He looks excellent. He looks awesome in this offense. They're using him in all these creative ways. Deck Wood Doyle calls the Ravens offense like he knows
47:27Zay Flowers is one of the best players in the world.
47:30And I think Zay Flowers has bulked up.
47:33He's always, since he entered the NFL, been one of the top zone beaters in reception perception, over 90th percentile success rate versus zone
47:40coverage at or above multiple times in his NFL career. And he took a step last season in success rate versus press coverage. I would be shocked if we
47:49don't see another massive leap again this year from him when the full charting is done.
47:54Zay is awesome and I do think they have some good compliments in this room. Like Rashod Bateman has actually had some
47:59moments this year, for sure. Yeah, he's he's been doing the thing, you know? My therapist doesn't want me to talk about
48:04Rashod Bateman, but Bateman he's stepped up. He's He's credibly filled the role that he needs to. I think Devonte's Walker's got a little
48:12something to him. And Jacobi Lane, again, he counts in the group of guys who are on IR, not out for the season,
48:18hopefully going to come back at some point. I think he can really add a dimension to this room. So, not only do
48:23I feel really good about the Ravens right now, I think by the end of November or something, we might feel even better about them if Lane can
48:30contribute, if Bateman can keep this up, and especially if Zay Flowers just continues to have that massive ascension season that I am seeing from him. Okay,
48:38final team in this division is the Pittsburgh Steelers.
48:42And they're a D-tier team to me. They are a collection of role players. Um I know that seems super harsh, and maybe
48:48frankly, maybe it is too harsh.
48:50But, I don't think DK Metcalf is a wide receiver one-level player.
48:54And I think Michael Pittman is also not a wide receiver one-level player. Roman Wilson, to his credit, had some nice plays. Uh he got himself open in week
49:03three, but that's like the first time we've seen much from Roman Wilson.
49:06Jeremy Bernard has had some moments as well. Again, it's a collection of role players to me.
49:11Uh it's probably too harsh to say that about Metcalf, but he is just not suited to be a number one. He's not suited to
49:17be an every-down X receiver as he essentially has to be for this team.
49:21He would be best fit in a different role.
49:24It's not great. And Pittman, unfortunately, just hasn't really been 100% healthy at any point in his Pittsburgh Steelers tenure, so I'm just
49:31not sure what to do with him right now.
49:32So, collection of role players for me for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Probably too harsh. You could totally argue it's too harsh. I get that, but uh just not a
49:40good start to the season for DK Metcalf.
49:42Hasn't really had a good consistent season since 2023, I would say. It's been an up-and-down ride ever since then. That's just kind
49:52of is who he is. Pittman, again, really good, solid, metronome complimentary player, but his best days are probably also behind him as well. I'm not sure if
49:59Roman Wilson or Jeremy Bernard can step up and fill the void there. So, yeah.
50:04Not a not a disgusting room by any means. It's functional. I think the offense is going to always lean into some stuff I don't really love with the
50:10Mike McCarthy Aaron Rodgers pairing right now, but you know, that is a whole separate conversation. Just looking at the group in isolation, I do think
50:16unfortunately D tier team to me.
50:18Collection of role players. Okay.
50:21Let's get to the AFC South. A lot of interesting wide receiver rooms here.
50:24Let's start Jacksonville Jaguars.
50:27Jacksonville Jaguars aren't A tier team to me in the wide receiver room.
50:31A tier is pretty crowded. A and B tier are definitely pretty crowded. So, look.
50:36Parker Washington, like, what's there to argue anymore?
50:41I have a video coming out on the channel with James later this week where we talk about Parker Washington and his
50:47ascension as a player.
50:50It's it's all real. It's all there. Last season, once they got him into a slot heavy role week 15 and on, he had an 83% success
50:59rate versus zone coverage and reception perception. That is one of the better numbers in the league. It was not great when he was playing as an outside like
51:06kind of reserve player for them to start the year. He wasn't in the right role.
51:10They got him in the right role. He's been awesome ever since. You can also credibly argue that Parker Washington is the best contested catch receiver in the
51:16league as I'll go into in that video which you guys should subscribe to the channel by the way. Haven't said that
51:21yet, but subscribe to the channel. If you've made it this far into the tier maker video, you definitely will want to
51:25see the rest of the content that we have for you. Okay? Like this video.
51:29Subscribe. We would really appreciate it.
51:31All that being said, we talk about sort of the ascension there.
51:36So, you can check that video out. This year what we're seeing is a big jump up against man and press coverage. So, one
51:42of the best contested catch receivers in the NFL. A monster after the catch and he's winning these like big vertical in-breaking routes. I don't need to see
51:50anymore. I've seen enough from Parker Washington to call him a wide receiver one. Jacoby Myers is an excellent compliment, and Brian Thomas Jr., his
51:57role is definitely way more limited than you'd want. Kind of a It's definitely a sacrificial X receiver and kind of also a designated X receiver,
52:05but that role brings value to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
52:09The fact that they also could get Travis Hunter involved at some point. That is also a piece of upside here. And last,
52:15but certainly should not be least, is Josh Cameron. This dude is like a dirty work specialist that I'm loving watching right now. Um wrote about him as a
52:23prospect. Miles to go as a route runner.
52:25Stiff- Still definitely need to see a little bit more there, but ultimately guy brings it as a cat- contested catch option. He's got some oomph in the run
52:33game, as you've seen so far. Like that's why BTJ has seen his snaps limited, cuz Cameron has been bringing it in that
52:40regard. Okay, another AFC South team for us here.
52:45Indianapolis Colts. Indianapolis Colts are B-tier team to me, because I think they have a good duo when healthy in Alec Pierce and Josh Downs. They also
52:53have some depth. Like Keenan Allen is solid depth at this point.
52:58That's probably about it. I [laughter] mean, either Like they they threw to basically just Tyler Warren, Josh Downs, and Keenan Allen. That's it in week
53:05three, which I think is right. Obviously Josh Jonathan Taylor, excuse me, he had three targets as well, but you know, they're not really going to get like a
53:11Quant Treadwell in the world. Um they're not really going to get you know, Deon Burks. Like he's been a splash player,
53:18like designed touches for them, but you know, he's not going to make a big impact as a seventh-round pick. A guy
53:22like long-term maybe to develop, but this comes down to the fact that Josh Downs we're finally seeing it, folks. He's on
53:28the field every single snap. He's getting all the targets. He looks excellent out there.
53:33It was un- It was unbelievable. He he's he's so good. Uh he he's been excellent this year. He's been everything I wanted
53:38to see him be. And Pierce, when healthy, is he going to be healthy this year?
53:43I don't know. I don't love how they handled that injury. So, yeah, that is obviously questionable. But, assuming healthy here, I do think they'd be a
53:50B-tier team. Really good duo. And Keenan Allen is a limited player at this point, but depth there as well. So, they're
53:56definitely B-tier team. Okay, another AFC South team. Let's talk Tennessee Titans. They are a D-tier team to me. A collection of role players. There's
54:04upside here if Carnell Tate can be a wide receiver one. I don't think through three weeks I've seen wide receiver one
54:09from him. I think I've seen good solid rookie NFL receiver. By the end of the year, maybe they could be a C-tier team
54:14with a wide receiver one. Uh but, I don't think they have a wide receiver two level player on the roster. Uh
54:20Wan'Dale Robinson should be a three.
54:22Alec Aiyemanor has shown some things. I think he could be a three in time.
54:26That's about it though. So, yeah, ultimately right now collection of role players. Carnell Tate, want to see him continue to grow and develop. I think we
54:34will see that over the course of his rookie season.
54:37But, right now this moment in time and, you know, just what I know of all these players, I'm going to say they're a
54:41collection of role players for the time being. Uh okay, final AFC South team, Houston Texans. They're the most obvious C-tier team of all time because they
54:49have a wide receiver one in Nico Collins who has missed the last two games. Hope I saw DeMeco Ryans say, "We're hopeful to get Nico back in week
54:57four." My friend, you are desperate for Nico Collins to come back in week four cuz without him, they're completely screwed. Without him,
55:04their outside receivers are some of the worst in the entire NFL. And again, because we can't consider Jaylen Higgins in this exercise, you've seen like the
55:12absence of Higgins what this has done.
55:14I I don't know why they don't play Jaylen no more. It makes no sense. Uh he had some nice plays for them so far.
55:21Like whenever he's on the field, he gets opportunity, he gets targets, and and he and he looks good. He makes big plays
55:27for them.
55:28Maybe he doesn't know the playbook.
55:30Maybe he can't I don't know. Maybe he's like a goof off in meetings.
55:34No clue. To me, that's a guy that should play more, but they don't.
55:40So, I don't really know what to do with that. It is what it is.
55:43But, like Kayshon Boutte, Xavier Hutchinson, you're not going anywhere with those guys as your outside receivers. So, they don't have a wide
55:50receiver two-level player on the roster.
55:52They do have Nico Collins, though, who is an awesome NFL receiver. When he's right, he can be a top-five caliber player.
55:59Unfortunately, um that's really all they have. Like, when he gets back, this offense can be okay. Without him, they're screwed, as we've seen over the
56:05last 2 weeks. Okay. Uh let's go to our final division here, the AFC West. We'll start in Kansas City.
56:13They're D-tier team to me. They're a collection of role players. Uh Rashee Rice, you know, definitely looked better last week against what might be the
56:20worst pass defense of all time in the Miami Dolphins. I'm not kidding. That's trending to be one of the worst pass
56:25defenses we've ever seen.
56:27But, uh Xavier Worthy has basically been an every-down player. He don't even have 25 yards in a game just yet.
56:32He's not He He's like a three at best.
56:35Tyquan Thornton, probably a three at best. I'd love to see more of Cyrus Allen at some point. That would be cool.
56:40Uh but, you know, he's a day-three rookie. I have no idea if he's even going to be good at the NFL level. I
56:44have a lot of faith in him as a prospect and as a player, but I wasn't expecting him to be an instant starter for this
56:49team. And obviously, we'll see what it looks like going forward. But, for now, I do think they're a D-tier team with a
56:54guy who should be a two in Rashee Rice and then kind of a collection of threes around them. It's a good thing Travis Kelce has been giving
57:01them some solid moments to start this season. And And Kenneth Walker is a complete monster. But, the wide receiver room still is kind of lacking an ace.
57:08I'd love to see uh them potentially explore a trade for one of these disgruntled guys somewhere along the way. Okay. Los uh Vegas Raiders, they
57:17are also a D-tier team to me. Totally a collection of role players. Obviously, again, if you missed it at the top, we
57:23are not counting tight ends. We are not counting tight ends.
57:28I don't chart tight ends. Brock Bowers is listed as a tight end. I know he plays all over the football field and
57:33he's a a stud. I mean, he's awesome and I love what Clint Kubiak did with him in week number three. Get the ball to your
57:40good players as many times as possible.
57:42Love that Clint Kubiak does that.
57:44Doesn't count in this exercise.
57:46If you'd like to say that he's a wide receiver one, then you do with what You guys handle that in the comments, okay?
57:52You guys You guys figure that out. For me, the receiver room, like Trey Tucker's a nice player. Jaylen Nailor's all right. Jack Besh, unfortunately, on
57:59IR now. I think he's a nice dirty work role player, big slot type. They've got some role players on the roster, but we
58:05all know this is just role players here and that sort of is what it is on that one. Okay.
58:12Uh next team we'll talk about here, Denver Broncos. I think they belong as an A-tier team.
58:17Probably like one of the bottom A-tier teams, but I think Jaylen Waddle is a wide receiver one. I I know he's been
58:23frustrating two out of three weeks in fantasy, but he's been awesome in the other week. Uh that's that's the player he can be. He's
58:31been getting separation. He's been getting open.
58:33Uh I love the role that he's in. I think by the end of the season, he's going to have wide receiver one, number one
58:38receiver level production, a guy that you can build the passing game around.
58:42And there's the other part of this, too, that even if you think he's more of a high-end two or whatever, which I would disagree with. I do think
58:49he's Again, probably of all the number ones that we have here in the A-tier, he's maybe one of the lowest ones I
58:56would rank. So, kind of a fringe A-tier team to me, but Courtland Sutton is a perfectly good X receiver. Pat Bryant is a really nice
59:04big power slot option. Troy Franklin's a nice guy to sprinkle in here as well.
59:09They definitely have a good collection of receivers in that room. So, they fit the good compliments portion of the A-tier team. I think Waddle is still a
59:17strong wide receiver one with more to get as the offense hopefully settles in with Davis Webb and Bo Nix playing a
59:25little less chaos ball, but we'll see if we'll see about that last part. Bo Nix does like to play himself some chaos
59:30ball. So, ultimately, like I said, probably one of the weaker wide receiver ones, um but still a very good player in Jaylen
59:36Waddle and a really nice complimentary group around him. Okay, final team here, the Los Angeles Chargers. Yeah, they are a
59:46C-tier team to me. They have a wide receiver one in Ladd McConkey, very obviously a wide receiver one. 10th in the NFL in yards per route run, by
59:56the way, among or wide receivers who have run 50 plus routes. He seems to be healthy, which definitely has been one of my concerns
60:03with him, and I've talked about this consistently. He's just always kind of dealing with a little something something. Um never had like a long
60:09injury absence, but he's always dealing with a little something something here.
60:12He was limited in week two in terms of the snaps.
60:15But uh I mean, a great player. I think a really, really good wide receiver one.
60:19Someone I would love to build the passing game around, and somebody that I think when he's on the field, you can
60:23build the passing game around. The Chargers have done that to a decent degree, as well. And then it then it comes to like Quinton Johnston. Uh
60:30Quinton Johnston is just like he's a three. He's too volatile to be a two. That's certainly a question. I mean, just
60:39yeah.
60:41QJ is definitely better than the player that he was as a rookie, as I as I've said to James Coke consistently,
60:47but he's not he's not a number two. He's more of like a solid starting NFL receiver that should be a three, so that
60:52you're kind of eased out of some of that volatility. He's overcast as a two. I'm hoping to see more from Trey Harris.
60:56Like, Trey Harris has given us something every now and again in the NFL level. I I'd love to be to see more from him. So,
61:03that's something I'll hold the candle for, but obviously a guy that is not a wide recei- wide receiver two-level player. Brenden Thompson, a nice splash
61:09deep threat who could be more used in time, but ultimately, yes, Chargers are a C-tier team, which is not the biggest reason, but one of the
61:16reasons that they've struggled is cuz they only have a wide receiver one. They don't have a wide receiver two, and their wide receiver one has been banged
61:21up to start the season, even though he's been awesome when he's been on the football field.
61:26Okay, so there you have it. All 32 teams tiered, sorted. Again, they're not ranked within the tier here.
61:37There'd be like there'd be some flipping, okay? If we were if we were ranking within the tiers, but you know, this is where they sort in all of the 32
61:45teams, five tiers, okay? Just to recap, S tier little to no questions in the room.
61:52Little to no issues with the wide receiver room. A tier, strong wide receiver one with good complements. I prefer to build a room that way than the
62:01B tier, which is having a really good duo.
62:04Maybe like a pseudo one, kind of fringe-ish, and then just a good duo.
62:10But so again, that's just like personal preference to me in terms of the A and the B tier. C tier, these are teams that
62:16have a wide receiver one, but they do not have a wide receiver two-level player. And then D tier, it's a collection of role players. You can get
62:23by with this if you have the right quarterback, but as you've seen, can be a little difficult when you don't have a
62:30superstar tight end like the Raiders do, like the Chiefs have had so far this year.
62:34Um shoot, even the Browns have Harold Fannin, right?
62:37Could be tough if you're the Dolphins or the Steelers or the Titans in that regard, especially when you don't have a
62:41good offensive coordinator. I don't think the Titans have a good offensive coordinator. I'm questioning about the Dolphins. Could be tough to build a good
62:47offense with that collection of role players, but you know, you can get by with there are some other surrounding variables on the roster. Okay.
62:53That is going to do it for this edition of the Reception Perception YouTube channel.
