Player insights

22

Chris Olave

NegativeValue17:02

Rich Hribar expresses a preference for DeVonta Smith over Chris Olave, stating that he believes Smith is the better player. This contrasts with the current dynasty market, where Olave is generally ranked higher than Smith.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

PositiveSleeper22:09

Hribar and the hosts express strong enthusiasm for Colston Loveland, confirming he is a priority target for their upcoming 'spite draft' at the 208 position. They value his profile and are committed to touting him throughout the season.

Insight page

Courtland Sutton

NegativeBust34:04

Hribar views Courtland Sutton as grossly misvalued, citing his sub-1.5 yards per route run last year and reliance on high volume against weak competition. With the team investing in other receivers, Hribar expects Sutton's role to diminish.

Insight page

Darnell Washington

PositiveBreakout53:59

The analysts express high hopes for Darnell Washington as a potential breakout candidate in the Steelers' offense, noting his elite physical profile and potential for a larger role this season.

Insight page

DeVonta Smith

PositiveValue18:17

Rich Hribar argues that DeVonta Smith is significantly undervalued in dynasty leagues, currently priced as the WR26. Hribar believes Smith is a premier talent who has been overshadowed by playing alongside A.J. Brown. He suggests that Smith has the potential to finish as a low-end WR1 (WR8-WR12) in 2026, with a ceiling that could rival top-tier receivers if passing volume increases or the offensive situation changes.

Insight page
PositiveValue21:30

Hribar views DeVonta Smith as a superior alternative to Emeka Egbuka for managers looking to stabilize their roster. He suggests that trading Egbuka for Smith allows managers to secure more reliable production and potentially gain an additional asset, noting that Smith has the potential to put up CeeDee Lamb-type numbers.

Insight page

Drake Maye

NegativeProjection60:33

Drake Maye is mentioned in the context of the Patriots' quarterback transition following the Tom Brady era.

Insight page

Emeka Egbuka

NegativeValue20:27

Rich Hribar identifies Egbuka as a 'sell' in dynasty formats because his current valuation as a top-12 wide receiver is heavily based on projection. Hribar warns that if Egbuka fails to deliver a significant breakout season, he risks losing dynasty value while being outperformed by other assets, suggesting traders could pivot to players like DeVonta Smith to secure more immediate production.

Insight page

George Kittle

NegativeProjection55:45

Rich Hribar notes that he is waiting for travel updates regarding the 49ers' international schedule before finalizing his analysis on Kittle, implying his fantasy outlook is tied to the team's logistical decisions.

Insight page

Jayden Reed

PositiveBreakout38:02

Hribar considers Jayden Reed a 'no-brainer' buy-low candidate. He cites Reed's proven ability to earn targets and his electric playmaking, noting that the Packers' offensive line situation and potential for more consolidated, quick-passing targets favor Reed's skill set.

Insight page
PositiveProjection40:19

Rich Hribar views Reed as a "certified good football player" who is currently priced below his actual value. While he is currently restricted to 11-personnel, he has the potential to be a top-24 receiver if he increases his route participation from 70% to 80% and the Packers play faster. He is expected to outscore Matthew Golden in touchdowns and possesses significant downfield playmaking ability.

Insight page

Joe Burrow

NegativeUsage57:15

Rich Hribar expresses concern over the Bengals' offensive scheme, specifically the team's desire to play under center. Hribar notes that Burrow's splits under center have been poor and argues the team should keep him in the gun to maximize his ability to distribute the ball to elite weapons like Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

Insight page

Khalil Shakir

PositiveUsage30:57

Hribar argues that Khalil Shakir is miscast as a 'slot-only' player. He points to Shakir's high yards-per-target-over-expectation stats and suggests that the addition of DJ Moore will allow the Bills to utilize Shakir more downfield, moving away from the short-area usage that defined his previous seasons.

Insight page

Malik Nabers

PositiveValue10:26

Rich Hribar views Malik Nabers as a top-three receiver in terms of talent and age, ranking him as his overall WR1 in dynasty. Despite recent knee injury concerns, Hribar argues that Nabers is being undervalued due to short-term injury fear, noting that Nabers has consistently produced top-five fantasy numbers when on the field. Hribar expects a bounce-back and considers him a 'must-buy' at his current market price.

Insight page

Matthew Golden

NegativeRole40:38

Golden is viewed as a potential disappointment whose role could be carved into by Jaden Reed. Despite running 73% of routes as a rookie, his performance was inconsistent, and there is skepticism regarding his ability to hold off other receivers in the Packers' rotation.

Insight page

Michael Pittman

PositiveValue48:30

Rich Hribar recommends buying Michael Pittman at his current WR48-50 pricing. While he lacks explosive "juice," he provides a high-floor, PPR-volume option who can be peppered with targets from Aaron Rodgers. He is considered a "professional adult" who can provide stability in deeper dynasty formats.

Insight page

Pat Bryant

PositiveBreakout30:18

Hribar identifies Pat Bryant as a breakout candidate who could push Courtland Sutton for targets. He notes that Bryant's late-season momentum was only halted by concussions and believes he will play a meaningful role, making him a high-value 'throw-in' or late-round rookie draft target.

Insight page

Peyton Manning

PositiveProjection61:12

Peyton Manning is fondly recalled as a high-level quarterback who provided a successful and enjoyable era for the Colts franchise.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

NegativeValue20:27

Rich Hribar identifies Puka Nacua as a 'sell' candidate in dynasty leagues. He notes that while managers correctly identify him as a young player with upside, the market has already priced him up to reflect that expected growth, leaving little room for further value appreciation.

Insight page

Romeo Doubs

PositiveValue24:48

Hribar highlights Romeo Doubs as an undervalued player who could see a significant performance boost in a new environment with Drake Maye. Despite past skepticism, Hribar notes Doubs's ability to handle the difficult 'X' receiver role in Green Bay and suggests he could emerge as a high-ceiling option if AJ Brown faces injury or regression.

Insight page

Ryan Flournoy

PositiveValue46:20

Rich Hribar identifies Flournoy as a "legitimately good buy" at his current ADP (WR70 in dynasty). He has multiple paths to value, including potentially becoming the Cowboys' WR3 or stepping into a larger role if the team moves on from CeeDee Lamb or George Pickens. He demonstrated contingency value last season when Lamb missed time.

Insight page

Tom Brady

NegativeProjection60:33

Tom Brady is referenced as the historical benchmark for championship-level quarterback play for the Patriots franchise.

0:00The NFL regular season is right around the corner and some people would tell you that means Dynasty season is over, but
0:07that couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, with there being some time in between games, some might call it the
0:13last chance you have to go on a spending spree for your Dynasty teams.
0:17We have one of our favorites, fan of the show, friend of the show, Rich Rebar joining us today.
0:23We are picking his brain in the only way we know how, chaotically and set up for the most fun possible.
0:29You've seen a lot of players to buy videos, but this one is going to be a little bit different.
0:35That's because it's Dynasty Points and it starts... well, it starts right now.
0:39Hello everybody, welcome back to Dynasty Points. If you're seeing this, we appreciate you.
0:43If you are new here, welcome in, take a seat, relax.
0:46We have you covered. If you're returning, thanks for joining us.
0:50Again, I'm excited because we've gotten to do this now the last couple of years, Rich, where we have our friend Rich
0:56Rebar on, at Lord Rebs over on Twitter or in the X universe, spitting out just hot fire all offseason, Rich, and
1:03we thought there'd be no better time than right now, A, because we were running out of it, and B, because again,
1:09it's kind of this weird, almost dead space in Dynasty.
1:12Rookie drafts are all pretty much done unless you're in a chaotic home league like Jacob and I are in, where our
1:19commissioner can't set a draft time to save his life.
1:22Or you're in mid-startup form. A lot of the existing leagues kind of get left on autopilot.
1:27We don't want to do autopilot today. We know you've been giving us advice on players to buy like Josh Downs the last time you were here.
1:35Is this the year that he actually gets to lay claim to the player you compared him to?
1:40We don't know. Well, we have things set up a little bit differently here for you, Rich, and for those watching and listening.
1:47We are going to ask you for some players that you're buying under some different sets of circumstances.
1:52We have got the car dealership, a Maserati of a player you're willing to pay luxury prices for.
1:58We've got Costco. Everyone loves Costco. I don't know, man.
2:01I don't like going to Costco, but I usually like what I get from there.
2:05Here's the problem with Costco. Especially on sample day.
2:08See, that's the thing. People will be like... I can't handle the way people wait and just clog lines for free samples.
2:14They're like, I got to get this piece of cheese.
2:17And I'm just like, I bet it's a piece of cheese, man.
2:21Here's the thing. I've never gone to Costco as an adult when I've had things to do, to be honest.
2:27The only memories that I have of Costco are when I was like five or four.
2:32And my mom and her mom would go around buying stuff.
2:35And I would just ride on my grandfather's cart and he would take me to all the samples.
2:40And so that ruled. I didn't have a care in the world.
2:44I wasn't concerned about what time I was getting home.
2:47I didn't worry about the lines. I didn't worry about if we ran someone over in the cart.
2:52I was just going to be eating the same piece of cheese 16 times as we went around waiting for my mom
2:59and Grandma Elle to decide whether they wanted the really, really large box of crackers or the really, really, really, really large box of crackers.
3:06So that was A-OK with me. If I went to Costco now, like, you know, with a job and like a life
3:13and God forbid, if I had a family, probably becomes pretty miserable pretty quick.
3:17But I'm going to keep my fond memories alive.
3:20The key is you can't go on the weekend at any level.
3:23No. I feel like I have the opposite Costco experience where I'm just trying to avoid the people trying to give me
3:30samples or sell me something the entire time. I feel like they always want you, oh, like, go lay on this mattress or, oh, what's your phone plan?
3:38Do you want to switch your phone plan? I feel like I'm more like fighting off all of the Costco employees the
3:45entire time that I'm there, like the total flip side of Jacob's experience.
3:48All right. We may have gotten sidetracked from the original point of the show.
3:53I did warn everybody in the open that we do it the way that we know how, which is chaotically.
3:59So to be fair, if you're still watching, you should have expected this.
4:02But we are using Costco as an example, a player you're looking to buy at market price in as many leagues as possible.
4:09We've got the stock exchange, a player you are looking to buy and think is undervalued who could rise this season.
4:16The scrapyard, a potentially unappealing player you're willing to buy low on and restore to their proper form.
4:21Look, that sounds like every quarterback I ever draft.
4:24And then, of course, the bulk barn, a very cheap buy who can produce for you in a pinch.
4:29And if you are unfamiliar with bulk barn, you should get familiar because there's nothing like going and getting two pounds of sour keys at a reasonable price.
4:38So, Rich. Is this a Canada thing or bulk barn?
4:40Bulk barn is a Canadian thing. I never know what's Canada only until I have the privilege of doing these shows.
4:47You know, it's like sometimes I'm talking to Americans.
4:49I'm like, oh, I was at Cactus Club the other night.
4:53And they're like, what do you mean? And I'm like, well, that's how I learned that they don't have that.
4:59And today I learned that you don't have bulk barn in America.
5:02Surely you have a place where you buy like bulk products.
5:05Yeah, it's called Costco. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
5:09Not like that. Like what if you had a real hankering for like trail mix?
5:14Like where would you go? Like is there a place where like a bunch of boxes of like dried apricots and like
5:20trail mix and like macaroons and you go in with a scooper and you like put it in a little bag?
5:27Oh. No, no, I don't. There are not many places like that.
5:30Like Chaves. Wow. That sounds like a mom and pop store.
5:33Like you walk into the candy shop with like the scooper and you put the candy in the bag is what I'm envisioning.
5:40But yeah. That's basically what it is. But man, you guys are absolutely missing out.
5:45But Rich, we have you here. Our country is not exactly thriving right now.
5:49Everything in your country can be fixed by the addition of bulk barn.
5:53Bulk sour keys. Bulk licorice. I mean, what could go wrong?
5:56As much as we... If you bring your own bag, you get half off.
6:00It's pretty great. That actually is pretty tight. Yeah.
6:03Rich, we have you here for a lot of things.
6:06And not always to tell you the wonders of bulk barn or to discuss Costco strategy.
6:11But again, these players are players that you are heavily into at this point.
6:15So let's kick it off with the upper tier.
6:17The car dealership. You walk in. There's a Maserati of a player.
6:21You're willing to pay that luxury price on who we have.
6:24Oh, man. I'm starting it off, huh? Well, my guy would be right now Malik Nabors.
6:29Like pretty clearly. And he gave us another gift, I think, the other day.
6:33Yesterday, I think, is when he dropped the quote of like, he didn't think he was 100% yet.
6:39But then everyone else took that as in like, well, I guess he's dead.
6:43You know, but this is a guy that I think at the end of his rookie year kind of showcased that like elite ceiling.
6:50He pretty much helped a lot of championship runs that rookie year, especially that game against the Colts.
6:55Sorry, Jacob. It was a fun game, though. And then we saw him have the huge game with Ross.
7:01And then the next game he plays, we had one game against the Chiefs.
7:05And then comes back and we're going to have this new leaf with Jackson Dart.
7:10And then 11 snaps in. Hurts his knee. We don't get to see him.
7:14But this is a guy that I think is probably a top three receiver right now in terms of like the age spectrum plus talent.
7:21He's my number seven player overall still right now in Dynasty ranks.
7:25So he's like, he goes like 12, 13 now if you do like Dynasty startups and because it's always pricing in the most recent thing.
7:32But this is a guy I think that's going to bounce back.
7:36We haven't really seen this injury like really debilitate like a lot of receivers like it did when I was young.
7:42Jerry Rice actually came back from an ACL the same season one year and then broke his kneecap.
7:47But neighbors is a guy I fully expect to bounce back age trajectory wise and get kind of rolling here.
7:53I have some questions about like Matt Nagy and stuff like that.
7:57But like this from a talent perspective and Dynasty, like I'm always just talent forward and agnostic to like situations.
8:03It's so fluid in the NFL. This is a player I think is just being undervalued from a talent perspective right now.
8:09Totally agree. You know who doesn't agree is Reddit because I was on there for the AMA today.
8:15I had a great time. People are very worried about the knee.
8:18But I agree. I had Malik neighbors. I just did a Dynasty rankings update on cut down day.
8:24This is an annual tradition. And I have him all the way up now with him looking likely to play in week
8:30one or soon thereafter as my 102 in Superflex Dynasty.
8:33Overall, I am wide receiver one. I'm only behind Josh Allen.
8:36And basically the first time I see him look completely healthy, he will pass Josh Allen.
8:41So I'm all in on the Malik neighbors call there.
8:44Definitely someone I think worth worth paying up for.
8:47Yeah. And it goes back to kind of what we've talked about throughout the summer, just with the dearth of like superstar
8:53wide receiver options that are currently in the NFL.
8:56We're really kind of hoping on this 2027 draft class to save us.
9:00But yeah, neighbors, although in the short term he has the injury, you just zoom out a little bit.
9:06And the profile is honestly pretty unique to have a wide receiver that was as immediately productive as high pedigree from a draft perspective as he was.
9:14That has basically done nothing besides produce top five fantasy wide receiver numbers when he's been on the field going into year three.
9:20Yeah, it doesn't really get much better than neighbors.
9:23I agree. I don't have him up in my 102 yet, but Jacob tends to be ahead of me on some of these things.
9:30So maybe that's where we're heading. But yeah, I'm fully on board with everything you guys just said.
9:36And it's just not very often you actually get buying opportunity on a player like this.
9:40And especially someone that's on track to play. I mean, you've got neighbors Ferguson for DJ Moore and Harold Fannin.
9:46That is a that is a dream. That is a dream trade dream scenario.
9:50They just don't become this available. You've got other trades like Malik neighbors and Cole commit for Ken Walker and a Rond
9:57a Gadsden all from the fantasy points front office trade database.
10:00These are real trades that have actually happened. So if you're saying not in my league, these trades aren't real.
10:06No, he's actually is quite available. We're going to go to the next one here, Rich.
10:11And we talked about this spot a little bit earlier, but we're going back to the premium parking section here.
10:17We've paid for the past. We're going back to Costco.
10:20And that means a player you're looking to buy at a market price in as many leagues as possible.
10:26And I feel like this is kind of the tier of player where almost every single content creator tends to avoid because
10:32it's not as sexy when you don't hear buy at this incredibly low price sell high, etc.
10:37It doesn't doesn't sound as good to click on, but there are often some of the most important pieces of your dynasty roster.
10:44So a player you are looking to buy at market price in as many leagues as possible.
10:49Yeah, I think right now just like scouring some some things that are going on dynasty leagues right now.
10:55I think a player that's going to be higher.
10:57And I know that's not the theme of this one, but is Devante Smith.
11:02Devante Smith is a player that I think people kind of lost the plot on like how actually good of a football
11:08player he is just because he's played next day.
11:11A.J. Brown for four years. But this was the last wide receiver to win the Heisman Trophy in like a absolutely bananas
11:17season, like playing next to legit NFL talent. Like he's out here dropping 200 yards on Ohio State.
11:23He scored 23 touchdowns this last year. I think almost just just under 1900 yards.
11:27We only have to see him operate as a wide receiver one for one NFL season.
11:32And it was his rookie year with first year starter Jalen Hurts.
11:35And obviously, as a reporter Jalen Hurts, we're finally getting a chance to see him operate as a wide receiver one again.
11:42Everyone's giving you the splits about the on off splits with A.J.
11:46Brown. But for me, it's just like this is like a premier talented player.
11:50And just playing like a number two role in a super low volume passing offense was a very viable player in your lineups.
11:57But also like his price hasn't moved with A.J.
11:59Brown leaving, which is really odd to me. Like you're basically buying him and not only dynasty, but redraft at the same
12:06price when he got like this immense bump. Still only 27 going on 28.
12:10There's some fluidity here into where we get a new offense.
12:13You know, hey, man, could this be the last year of Jalen Hurts in Philadelphia?
12:18Who knows? So we could see what happens here.
12:20But this is a player I just believe is is from another guy that said from like a talent perspective is just
12:27I want to bet on because he's that damn good.
12:30I'm really curious. So he's been a guy that I've been, I guess, a bit back and forth on.
12:35I started the year really bullish, especially because the especially when we had this nice moment in time where his ADP was
12:42still like in the fourth in redraft leagues because or in best ball leagues.
12:46Because people were acting like A.J. Brown wasn't going to get traded when he was very obviously going to get traded.
12:52And it was like kind of the easiest bet in the world because his ADP was just clearly going to get moved
12:59up the board as soon as that inevitable notification happened.
13:02Since then, he's bumped up a ton. He goes kind of early three now in like the best ball market.
13:08And I know that we're we're, you know, ostensibly dynasty focused.
13:11I guess I'm just curious in terms of how high do you think the ceiling can be for Smith in the context of this passing offense?
13:19It's been like under 3,500 passing yards the last couple of years.
13:22Like can he what is the hope is the hope like low end wide receiver one?
13:27Do you think he could threaten to be like into that top six wide receivers range competing with like an Amon Ross
13:34Seedy or a Jefferson at an absolute apex? I've struggled a little bit on him versus some of the other guys in
13:40that same tier, like either a Flowers, who I think has less target competition or a Waddle, who I think plays in a higher volume passing offense.
13:48Or do you think he can be like a true like 30 percent targets per route run like that level of dominance,
13:55which is like in my perspective, probably what it takes to hit.
13:58Like a major ceiling at an early round three costs and a low volume offense.
14:03Like what's what's kind of the math behind how far we can go with Smith?
14:07Yeah, I think probably the the former where you started, I think probably in the context of just 2026 only in this
14:14offense, probably more of like a low end wide receiver one, like a maybe like a wide receiver eight, like wide receiver 12 finish.
14:21But big picture. I mean, this there could just be a lot of changes here.
14:26I really honestly think if Jalen Hurts doesn't take to this offense, which seems outlandish to say from like one, a Super
14:32Bowl and they've been to another Super Bowl, but that he could find himself, you know, almost being pushed out.
14:38Because, I mean, the this the offenses that Jalen Hurts has been a part of, like they've all been kind of hamstrung by the things he can't do.
14:46Now, is he a really good quarterback still that you can win with?
14:50Absolutely. But is he still a quarterback that maybe doesn't get you access to things you want to do?
14:56Also, absolutely. Because like he's now turning into the common denominator, right?
14:59Like you've always like he said, he's had a different coordinator basically every year since high school.
15:05And, you know, is that because and then he's going to be playing under center for the first time in his career.
15:11Like there's definitely some fragility here. And I don't think that they're going to just like go out and wing it with Jalen Hurts.
15:18But, you know, if there's an opportunity here where there's more passing volume, I think the ceiling could be higher.
15:24We're at a really weird spot, too, where I think the elites at wide receiver are like pretty clear.
15:30And then you got kind of red flags with everyone afterwards.
15:33But we did see, you know, Jack Smith and Jigba, you know, become the first wide receiver lead the NFL in receiving
15:40yards on a bottom three pass rate team. I think Demondi Smith is that kind of talent.
15:45I definitely think he's as talented as a guy like JSN.
15:48Now, that's probably like a one. OK. Oh, I mean, absolutely.
15:51I mean, like I said, go back to just like his profile in college.
15:55I mean, this dude was dominating everyone. And like with like JSN played a good players, he played a good players, too.
16:02So I think there's more upside still. But I think in 2026 context, you're more right that he's probably just like a small win in terms of there.
16:10But from a dynasty perspective, he's always going to be priced a little bit down because he's 27 now.
16:16And we've got a hotbed of like 22, 23, 24 year olds.
16:19But we know that like they're all going to like they're not all going to hit.
16:24So like while you might be into like a guy like I don't know, I'm trying to think like who's down here.
16:31Luther Burden is probably not a great example. But like Tett McMillan, right?
16:35Tett McMillan's 23. You know, got you got the runway for age.
16:38Another player is a good talent. But like worse.
16:41How fluid is his situation? How much of the quarterback changed?
16:44How much is he stuck? How many more years do we have to say or like he go like just pushes the
16:51wide receiver to brink where you're like, all right.
16:53Am I out or am I in right? Like there's some guys like that I think he can compete with.
16:59And I think like a guy Chris Alave who's jumped him.
17:03I think he's a better player than Chris Alave is, too.
17:06Yeah, Jacob and I had this debate a few episodes ago when we did our wide receiver tiers.
17:11And he like intellectually destroyed me for having Chris Alave and Devante Smith too far apart.
17:16It was inconsistent with my redraft rankings. It was a very embarrassing look and moment for me.
17:21But I will pose kind of a similar type of question to you on Devante Smith now, Rich, because I think Smith,
17:28while I hear you in terms of he is probably valued lower in dynasty than how good I think he is as a player should maybe imply.
17:36I think my problem is, yeah, 27 going on 28.
17:39He's in dynasty speak. He's like a year away from being almost 30, right?
17:43That that that is legitimately how the dynasty market treats these guys unless they have that amazing ceiling season.
17:48If Devante Smith has a top six wide receiver season this year, then I would agree with you.
17:54Then, yeah, he is undervalued in dynasty. But I do think if he hits like kind of that smaller win borderline wide
18:00receiver one outcome that we're talking about, which is also kind of where I have him ranked in redraft, then I don't know.
18:07I don't know that he's like the I just think he would go in the same round of startups or like half
18:14a round later next offseason is kind of what I'm saying.
18:17But but maybe that is like the most efficient way to get points out of, yeah, a startup pick right now.
18:23But yeah, I don't know. I think I'm just I'm underwhelmed, I guess, is what I'm saying.
18:28I think that's always an argument. I'm whelmed by you saying he's as good as JSN.
18:33Like if he's that level. I am whelmed by that.
18:36Yes. Like if that's if he if he is that good, then I don't think the concerns.
18:41I mean, the concerns matter. Right. Like those those are the same level of concerns as to like why we're not drafting JSN over Jamar Chase.
18:49But like those concerns don't matter at his cost.
18:51Like he can he can very easily smash his ADP if he's like one of the best five wide receivers in the NFL.
18:58That's that's probably I think the key is, is he is he like in the 10 to 15 range or is he like a top five level talent?
19:07If he's if he's the latter, then yeah, he's he's like absolutely, I think, capable of obliterating his ADP.
19:12Yeah, the front office has him going at wide receiver 26.
19:1626. So if you're paying wide receiver 26 prices and this ends up being the hit that Rich thinks he can hit.
19:22I mean, you're you're laughing your way to the bank and all of a sudden that age variance really doesn't matter as much to people.
19:30OK, there's a number of guys in Dynasty for at least one year.
19:33He's going to destroy this. Yeah. Yeah, right. Like, you know, that's like at cost.
19:38And I think then you have a runway of saying, all right, well, he moves up a little bit.
19:44And then do those guys come back to the pack to, you know, you know, if he smokes, you know, a lad McConkie this year.
19:51Right. Like that's like wealth in the range of outcomes.
19:54Even even guys, I think that are way higher than I'm like, how how shocked would you be if Devante Smith like
20:00gave you a comparable season to Drake London this year?
20:03Not shocked. Yeah. It's surprised, but not shocked. Yeah.
20:06I mean, I have London higher, too. But like, you know, it's like I don't think that the Delta is like super
20:13wide, whereas like London was what like wide receiver seven, eight and Dynasty.
20:17They're only like a year and a half apart to an age.
20:20So it's not like it's like an out like maybe my Tet one comparable is like too far away to bridge like
20:27a Buka maybe is a better one, too. It's like a Buka probably says a lot of question marks more.
20:33So that is the one where I mean, he's such an interesting player in Dynasty.
20:37I wrote him as one of my I had my athletic article out last week and I had five cells and I
20:44kind of broke it into different types of teams.
20:46But I had a Buka as a cell on largely for the reason that he's an interesting one where I think people
20:53reasonably in Dynasty see a young player that they expect to get better.
20:57And so then they price him up as though he's going to get better, which makes sense.
21:02It's really hackable if they didn't. But then I think sometimes people forget that.
21:06Then when you look at a Buka is I think like the wide receiver 11 right now or something in Dynasty.
21:12And and I just hope people understand that, like, he better get better and he better get a lot better because if
21:19he doesn't post a breakout season, everyone's hoping for like he can have a better season than last year and lose Dynasty
21:25value while also producing less than other guys who will produce him in the process.
21:30So Smith is a classic case of to me.
21:32I think he was even one of the names I suggested where I said, like, you know, if you if you have
21:39a particularly high value team and you have a Buka, like instead of kind of risking it all on this projection, like
21:45you could just trade him for Smith, probably get more production at an asset on top.
21:50And you kind of fix your costs, which is like probably what I'm a little bit more prone to do.
21:56But obviously, you know, if a Buka has like the JSN season, that's that's a missed opportunity.
22:01But there's a lot of projection baked into that lofty Dynasty price.
22:05Well, that was a better conversation because listen, the first the other guy had written down as Colson Loveland.
22:10I think we just would have had a pretty kumbaya conversation.
22:14So that at least gives people a wide variance to talk about, like the the layers, the peeling back the onion on
22:20Devontae Smith and what kind of your roster looks like.
22:23I honestly don't even think it would surprise me if you put up like CeeDee Lamb type run type numbers.
22:29Like if you're getting mid to production from somebody like Devontae Smith in this year, it's it's going to shake people up.
22:36It really will. So just to be clear, you're very in on Colson Loveland.
22:40Is that what I'm hearing? Yes, very much. Oh, that's that's really good to hear.
22:44Yeah. All right. Look, I think David said something similar on one of the shows that he did with you.
22:50But like whenever, you know, I have this I have the slap sis, which is like this bit.
22:56Right. You know, about all the different people where they fall in.
22:59But like hearing hearing someone who is more more married to the numbers and who I trust implicitly with the numbers back
23:06up my vibes based players is very meaningful for me.
23:09So to hear to hear the Colson Loveland is is.
23:12Yeah, good. Put him on the put him on the sheet, Tom.
23:15Good. He's he's on the list because it would be.
23:18I think our our audience would be disappointed if we didn't find a way to just shoehorn in Loveland and or burden
23:25on every program from here until week 17. Well, we have a ship chase that we have the spite draft tomorrow, which is the lead.
23:32We've never done this before. It's usually we draft teams together, obviously.
23:36But we've had like a number of players where each of us keeps getting like three V one outvoted out of all summer long.
23:43And so the idea of the spite draft is we're all going to draft against each other to give everyone a chance
23:49to just get the guys that they keep losing arguments over.
23:53And you can just put Loveland on my team already at the 208.
23:57And so I'm excited to hear this in advance of the future two thousand dollars I'm spending on him tomorrow.
24:03Fantastic. All right. Let's get into maybe a little bit of finance bro.
24:06Theory here with the stock exchange, a player you are looking to buy.
24:10And think is undervalued, but could rise this season.
24:13This is this is a very popular content creator conversation, Rich.
24:16But I have a feeling like the last time you were here, you've got you've got somebody pretty special for us.
24:23Well, I was I'm not going to do downs again.
24:25It's all he fits. I'm going to I'm deciding to take this in an angle of last year's like recency of Michael
24:32Wilson, Parker, Washington and Alec Pierce kind of breaking out where it was like kind of under the umbrella of like this is who these guys are.
24:40And it proved out they were not those guys.
24:43Right. So I have a couple names, but the first guy I'm going to start with is Romeo Dobbs.
24:48You know, what if it was I'm high on AJ Brown?
24:52I love this fit. I love that AJ Brown is going to finally play with a real quarterback and an offense that's
24:58going to play under center and have play action passes.
25:01But what if the knee is a problem? What if there's like these pulled out with age?
25:06Romeo Dobbs trajectory wise. He's got to also play in a new environment that I think is really strong.
25:12Get that attachment to Drake May. He we know he could score touchdowns.
25:16I think he was an undervalued prospect. So he's a guy that I look at down in this range of saying like,
25:22oh, he could like we could look back on this and be like, man, we were way under on Romeo Dobbs and he can make a big push.
25:31I'll let you guys take that one. And I've got I've got two more names I want to throw in here.
25:37Dobbs is interesting. Like I my initial reaction for years whenever Romeo Dobbs is mentioned, it's like gross.
25:42Probably like Michael Wilson. But I think he's been steadily getting better under the hood like over time for sure.
25:48I think that he I mean, he's been competing with very legitimate target competition in Green Bay and he's not been amazing,
25:55but he's been pretty good in the hardest role in that offense.
25:58Right. Everyone else gets to run 70 percent of the routes and they only run the routes that are tailored for them
26:05or as Dobbs has to go play X every single snap competing against the rotation of very quality target earners.
26:11And I think he deserves credit for that. But he's also in a spot to where AJ Brown, if his knee is
26:17cooked or if he suffers an injury like there's nobody else in New England really at all.
26:22So I think that there could be a lot of optionality for him to have a high ceiling, especially contingently.
26:28And I assume they're going to be one of the 12 teams.
26:32I mean, they can't stop talking about how much they love Eli Reardon and they traded Kayshawn Booty for seemingly no reason, really.
26:39And I don't know how addicted they are to like playing Matt Collins and Demario Douglas, probably more addicted than I want them to be.
26:46All of us. Way too much. Yes. I guess if you play Matt Collins, you're in 12 personnel anyway.
26:52So what's the difference in terms of like the the effects on on outside wide receiver volume?
26:57So that probably is a distinction without a difference.
27:00They probably are tighter this year, though. You know, they just had a pure rotation last year.
27:05And I do think that Dobbs and Brown will largely be full time players.
27:09Yeah, I think so, too. I do want to just point out for the viewing audience that I purposefully waited as long
27:15as I could before coming in there because I wanted to see how uncomfortable Jacob would get having to think of something
27:22positive or exciting to say about about Romeo Dobbs.
27:25I know how painful that just was for him.
27:27I don't even I didn't even hate him last year.
27:30Like I in in best ball, I think I was like significantly overweight last year.
27:35I'm not as like I don't know that I'm as enthused from like a dynasty managed perspective, but I can see it.
27:41He's he's grown on me on a year to year basis.
27:44That's only I think that's on you because he's a patriot now and you can't not tout patriots that play with Drake May.
27:51All people forget. I was like really in on Dobbs as a prospect.
27:55It was like that was like one of my like big calls.
27:59Yeah, I like him too. It was Dobbs as a prospect.
28:02I mean, then it's like he kind of fulfilled like the 90th percentile outcome of what I thought was possible was just becoming a relevant NFL player.
28:10Just win for a day three receiver. And then, you know, we kind of like then it's then he just became like a it's not even his fault.
28:18He's just he's just been such an inconvenient truth for so many other players that I like more that I've like kind
28:25of been forced to root for his demise. But it's not really that I like think he's like a scrub or anything.
28:31The problem I think with. Sorry to say the problem with touting somebody like Dobbs that Kyle Williams is going to break
28:38out this year and be absolutely electric. Kyle Williams is a DH.
28:42Like if the only aspect of playing wide receiver was to win immediately within three yards of the line of scrimmage on
28:48a release against press van coverage on a go route, he would be in the Hall of Fame.
28:53I guess he can't do anything else because the Patriots don't want to play him.
28:58But he is so unbelievably good at that specific skill.
29:01My only thing with Dobbs is I kind of like you're hinting at Jacob.
29:05I think he's very format specific. I just any leagues where his kind of base case, which is 10 to 11 fantasy
29:12points per game, it is usable, valuable, like something you want on a roster.
29:16Then I agree that then I think he is a pretty strong bet just because, yeah, there there is at least a
29:22world where you you look back at this Patriots team last year and you have old Stefan digs at 32 or 33
29:29years old or whatever it was coming off an ACL tear.
29:32I'm ranking top seven or top eight in first sounds for out run and across most per out stats in like a
29:39part time ish role being like a legitimate borderline wide receiver one high and wide receiver two.
29:44Just because of how much Drake may is like able to will all of these receivers to relevance where, yeah, if you
29:50end up in a spot where AJ Brown is taking a step back or if he's kind of getting the digs.
29:57Treatment and Dobbs is leading this team in routes, I can very much see where he he overcomes that a little bit.
30:03And yeah, he is totally someone that I would have scoffed at in a way I would have scoffed at a Michael Wilson last year.
30:11But I I think that's like a perfect answer to this question from Rich here.
30:15I do got two more under the same things.
30:18I come prepared. I give you a couple. The other guy is I think more trendy and more fun, but it would
30:24be Pat Bryant, who I think could obviously get in the rotation.
30:28Immediately. Yeah, Patty Ice. I think you could push Courtland Sutton by the end of the year, who's obviously probably in his last year contractually with Denver.
30:36Anyways, I think when we revisit like ADP next year, he's just going to be a big riser naturally.
30:41And then the last guy that fits the same mold of just like I think people think of this player as one way.
30:48And I think that there may be is an outcome.
30:51He is a different player in the right circumstances.
30:54Will he get him this year? I don't know.
30:57But Khalil Shakir is the other guy who I think would be thought of like Parker Washington and like coming in like
31:03this is a slot only player targets. But if you remember like coming out and especially those first two years in Buffalo,
31:10this guy was averaging 15 yards per catch. His ADOTs just plummeted every year as they've moved him into like this just
31:16like completely yak dependent behind the line of scrimmage player.
31:19First two years, 10 and 11 percent only targets at or behind the line of scrimmage.
31:24Last year's 33, 34 percent. They've talked about wanting to get him more targets downfield.
31:28We saw a little bit of proof of concept in the preseason.
31:32It's only preseason, but at least it was nice to see that the addition of DJ Moore who can run now some of this like shallow mesh.
31:40And it's like they just haven't had anyone to do any of this other stuff surrounding Khalil Shakir.
31:45So I think them having a guy like DJ Moore can actually open up some stuff for him like and get him some more downfield targets.
31:53Because this is, I believe, an explosive player. He played hurt to all last year.
31:58He also did the in-season baby, which never, never is great.
32:01I'm going to pull up a tweet that you guys can't see, but it's from, you know, fantasy points.
32:07You know, CEO here, Scott Barrett. And it's yards per target over expectation.
32:10The only players higher than Khalil Shakir the past two years are Jameson Williams, Puka Nakua, and Jackson Smith and Jigba.
32:17What if we got this guy some targets that just weren't at the line of scrimmage?
32:21Brent Whitefield also said he was a better yards after the catch receiver than Jabbar Chase, which I'm not going to go that far.
32:29But this is a player I think that's literally just thought of as a puddle jumper because of how he's been used.
32:35But what if there's something else here? I believe the Buffalo Bills this year particularly are going to throw more and throw more downfield.
32:42And they're going to be pushed to throw more by their schedule.
32:46They've got a new defensive coordinator. Like, he's kind of just like, he's out here.
32:50You can get Khalil Shakir in a lot of tag-ons.
32:53And he's still got contractual security attached to Josh Allen beyond this year, which is something DJ Moore doesn't have.
32:59I'm reminded of whenever it was early last season, like week three, week four, right after Malik Nabors went out for the year.
33:06But it was still Russell Wilson, if I'm not mistaken.
33:09And for years, like the mantra in DFS was you can't play.
33:13You can't stack Wondale Robinson. You can't play Wondale in GPPs.
33:16He doesn't get downfield targets. He's Khalil Shakir. It's only the short stuff that he gets.
33:21And that wasn't true for when he was the only receiver on the Giants.
33:25And Russ was under center. And he was wanting to throw bombs.
33:28And that like blew everyone's mind. And I think Khalil Shakir is a much better player than Wondale Robinson.
33:34So I'm into this. This is legitimately exciting to me.
33:37This is my favorite call of the show so far.
33:40And very cheap. That's a fun one. I'm glad Ryan boosted Shakir because I wanted to talk about Pat Bryant.
33:46But I like all these calls. I mean, both of Shakir and Bryant would also fall into a pretty rare bucket of
33:52receivers for me, which is like receivers drafted outside the first two rounds that I actually recommend drafting in rookie drafts.
33:59So these are like all guys that I like considerably more as prospects than consensus.
34:03Bryant, I like for largely because I find Cortland Sutton to be like a pretty grossly misvalued player, in my opinion, this season.
34:10This is a guy who was sub 1.5 yards per route run last year.
34:14A lot of the case for him is largely based off of volume.
34:18It was volume that he earned in large part due to running routes, like a lot of routes.
34:23I think he ran the third-row routes on my wide receivers last year in the regular season.
34:28And he ran them against really terrible target competition.
34:31There was a narrative earlier in the summer, I think that's dead now, that like we don't even know who the wide receiver three is going to be.
34:39You know, it could be Pat Bryant, it could be Troy Franklin.
34:43It's certainly not Troy Franklin. This is one of my favorite stats.
34:47Marvin Mims. This is the entire list of players last year who had an 8 out of 12 or higher and at
34:53least 50 targets and had a yards per target under 7, which is pretty shocking.
34:58If you have a high 8-odd, of course, your yards per target on average is much higher.
35:03That's like broken Mike Evans, who's playing through 17 different injuries, Adderall Mitchell, Darnell Mooney, Alec Ayo Manor, Van Jefferson, Keon Coleman,
35:09Jerry Judy, and my guy Troy Franklin, who had 102 targets.
35:12He ran more routes last year than Pukinikua. The level of addition by subtraction, I think, from getting him out of the
35:19offense, getting Jalen Waddell into the offense is going to be dramatic.
35:23And to me, if Cortland Sutton was like an 18-19% target spread outrun guy next to basically Troy Franklin and Marvin Mims
35:29and the corpse of Evan Ingram, I don't really know how that number goes up when you all of a sudden drop
35:36a star receiver who they invested heavily in. And Pat Bryant, towards the end of the year, was really coming on.
35:42I think if he never got the multiple concussions that knocked him out of games at the end of the season.
35:48I remember that Buffalo playoff game. He was targeted, I think, three times on the first drive or on the first two drives and then left the game.
35:56If he had stayed in that game, I mean, one, I would have won a lot of money in DFS that week.
36:03And two, he probably would have like a three-round higher ADP and maybe Sutton's would be lower because I think they were
36:10really trying to find a non-Sutton answer for large portions of last season.
36:13So I agree with you. I think Brian's going to play a meaningful role this year.
36:18I think that that's another team that might consolidate a bit more.
36:22Like, to me, teams that have a billion different guys running routes and then go out and make significant changes to their
36:28receiver room the following year, don't strike me as teams that are necessarily content to just be super rotational.
36:34They strike me as teams that are very discontented with the state of their receiver room the previous season and then have made moves to change that.
36:42So I think Brian plays a real role this year.
36:45If Sutton's gone next year and Brian's impressive, like, he'll be the guy that has the Sutton ADP next year as the number two next to Jalen Waddell.
36:53You know, the guy who's going round seven, round eight and redraft.
36:57And, of course, that would carry a pretty significant price tag in Dynasty.
37:01Yeah, I mean, considering the price tag now for someone like Pat Bryant is really low.
37:05From August 30th, we got the 312 and the 306.
37:08So apparently someone else has a rookie draft happening that their commissioner can't seem to schedule to save their life.
37:14But you also get a 27 third involved in this, too.
37:18And that feels like a really easy Pat Bryant pickup.
37:21We've got Kirk Cousins being traded for for guys like Pat Bryant.
37:24Rico Dattel, and you're getting Jordan Mason and Pat Bryant.
37:27Like he's a throw in right now, essentially an afterthought.
37:30So I definitely I definitely love that call. And I love players that are this cheap.
37:35This is just my just my favorite gross. Gross, gross type of pickup.
37:39Let's talk about the scrapyard. Speaking of which, gross.
37:41Those guys are all in the scrapyard, to be fair.
37:44A potentially unappealing player you are willing to buy low on and restore to their proper form.
37:49This is my favorite category to talk about. Yeah, I took the latter portion of this as kind of not the unappealing part.
37:56If I was stumping for him, they'd obviously have appeal.
37:59But to me, this is what's a no-brainer, right?
38:02Like this is Jaden Reed with a bullet. Jaden Reed picked up that steam after year one.
38:07Another player, again, like I just believe is a lot stronger of a talent than Matthew Golden.
38:12And anytime he's played, he's earned targets. He's been electric.
38:15I mean, even the play he broke his collarbone on last year was like an incredible play.
38:20You know, the touchdown came back. Stupid holding call.
38:23It was a holding penalty. I'm like, now I lost Jaden Reed for the season and I don't even get the touchdown.
38:29Don't even get the touchdown. Don't even get the touchdown.
38:32But I mean, everything is set up this entire offseason for one, the Packers, obviously with Wicks and Dobbs leaving.
38:38The offensive line, this is the worst offensive line the Packers have had in the LeFleur era.
38:43They're going to have to throw, could be more of a quick throws that helps a guy like him versus Watson.
38:50And Matthew Golden. Then we have this Josh Jacobs, you know, situation on top of everything.
38:54Like, it's just going to be consolidated targets. They're going to have to throw more.
38:59He's already gotten the contract extension last year. So, I mean, like, this is a player I was in love with as
39:05a prospect, got proof of concept year one, got the rug pulled out on me.
39:10I'm ready to be heard again. Ingrid und Indeed präsentieren Jobs, bei denen man sich keinen Fehler erlauben darf.
39:15Heute Friseurin. Etwas nachschneiden bitte. Und die Spitzen. Was ist das?
39:19Heckenschere. Viel effizienter. Die ist für Büsche. Ganz genau.
39:21Ingrid! Das ist ein Job für Sponsored Jobs. Mit richtigen Profis wäre das nicht passiert.
39:26Vertrau Ingrid. Versuch Indeed. Und finde qualifizierte Talente mit Sponsored Jobs.
39:29Mach's dir Indeed einfach. Jetzt auf indeed.de slash recruiting.
39:32Yeah. Packers top three in EPA per dropback over the past two seasons.
39:36Bottom three in pass rate over expectation over the past two seasons.
39:39I feel like I make this argument or this thought at some point, like every offseason.
39:44But now with Josh Jacobs, yeah, on the commissioner's exempt list, I can totally see like a legitimately, if not pass first, like more balanced Packers attack.
39:52And I think that carries like, yeah, real fantasy value for a Jaden Reed and for kind of all of these guys.
39:59I'm very interested in basically every Packers pass catcher.
40:01I moan and groan about Matthew Golden when Jacob convinces me to take him in the main event.
40:07But hey, that works too. But give me Jaden Reed.
40:10Everyone knows that if they listen to this program, how warmly I feel in my heart for Jaden Reed.
40:15So I'll play devil's advocate while noting that I'm, of course, a massive fan.
40:19Jaden Reed, of course, has been placed on a different exempt list.
40:23He's been on the Matt LaFleur exempt list from 12 personnel over the first few years of his career.
40:29And so last year, Packers passed out of 11 personnel on 68 percent of their dropbacks.
40:33That was modestly above average. How high do you think it can get this season?
40:38Or what are the odds you think that Matthew Golden is like enough of a disappointment that Jaden Reed just takes his
40:44spot as the starting receiver in two receiver sets?
40:47Because to me, like, so I went through, I did a big piece on the Packers.
40:52I really tried to talk myself into Reed and I did to an extent.
40:56I think he can clearly be a small hit as a slot only player if they pass more, play faster, you know,
41:02all that stuff that I think they're clearly going to do.
41:06He could be like a top 24 receiver. The path from being a massive hit, I do think still requires him, you
41:12know, getting like closer to 80 percent routes rather than 70 percent routes.
41:16What's what's, Tim, in your view, the most likely path of how we get to that route number?
41:22Um, probably not the route number, but I think out of the players here, like he's still I think he's going to
41:28probably double up golden and touchdowns, which may not matter.
41:31It could be like four to eight or three to six.
41:34Uh, but I think he's got the touchdown like scoring juice.
41:38And then also like, I think when you look at Reed, he's, he does play in like, he's been restricted to play
41:44an 11 personnel only, but he's not just a guy that like gets targets like Debo Samuel, who he's always comped to because he had early rushing.
41:52Like this is a guy that has won downfield a lot in his career.
41:56So I think he can create splash plays as well.
41:59But yeah, from an insulation stance, I mean, he's run eight, eight routes in his career and one to two wide receiver sets.
42:06Uh, we, we all, I believe have more fingers and toes than that.
42:10I don't know for sure. Uh, but, uh, to give you some, to give you some extra context, I mean, Matthew golden's
42:17that he ran 73 last year as a rookie with like, and like not even really playing like great.
42:22I know some of it was like injury pushed, uh, up at the front of the year, but yeah, I mean, it's,
42:29he's got to get just like, he's just got to carve into that.
42:33And is it because golden's playing bad? Does he carve into it?
42:36Is it because Christian Watson's hurt? I hope not.
42:39Cause I want Christian Watson to be healthy as well.
42:42Um, but yeah, that's the toughest hurdle, right? Um, that's why I kind of took it as like, you know, returned to
42:48like proper form as in like, you would get this player back versus what we've gotten the last year and a half.
42:55Uh, as a, as like an hour, a smash, whereas I think like the guys we talked about in the front were
43:01like, no, these guys are like high end assets.
43:04This is a player. I think that's just like literally just like priced below where he should be.
43:10Yeah. I think, I think that makes total sense.
43:12I mean, Reed, Reed is a certified good football player.
43:15Uh, and I think you have a really high floor as long as he's healthy of him being a startable player this year.
43:22Uh, my, my cortisol definitely spiked when Christian Watson took one snap off in the preseason and we got freaking Savion Williams coming up personnel.
43:29And it's like, I know Savion Williams, I think was placed on IR, but if you're, if you're willing to do that,
43:36then you just, you just have a set rule that, that Jaden Reed is apparently not allowed on the field in 12.
43:43Like you'll play, you'll play Ryan Heath out there.
43:45Um, uh, you know, or, or Malik Heath or any Heath, um, Heath coming up and working on his route running.
43:51Uh, so it's that, that is so tilting to me, but it's especially tilting to me because I don't understand why Jaden
43:58Reed can't play in two receiver sets. Like, I don't know what it is about his game.
44:03He's small, but he's not that small. He's like actually pretty rugged.
44:07I don't, I don't think it's like a major blocking issue.
44:10Um, he has always had strong success rates in man covered situations.
44:13Like, I don't know exactly what it is. It made a lot of sense to me.
44:18Maybe not a lot. It made some sense to me when they had like five capable receivers for three receiver slots to
44:25just say, well, we're rotating everyone anyway. And so instead of cross training you on different positions, we'll get you your 70%
44:31routes at one position and then we'll kind of rotate the other guys.
44:35Anyhow, like no one was really running all the routes except for Dobbs, uh, this year when they have three competent receivers, I hope that common sense prevails.
44:43And if one of golden or Watson misses time or disappoints or just needs like Gatorade for three plays that Reed is
44:50the one who goes on instead of like some goofball.
44:53But I don't know. Matt Malifleur is like a little bit of an enemy of, of, of mine.
44:58So we'll see. You just brought me and we throw Dobbs into this.
45:02Well, it's just like, I think a lot of people had high expectations for Reed when Wicks and Dobbs departed.
45:08And then now we're just left with, oh no, now they're still Watson.
45:12They're still golden. There's still craft. That's going to get in the mix.
45:16There's still, there's still a lot of opportunity. And like Jacob mentioned Williams coming in.
45:20And it's like, there's still an opportunity for LeFleur to play his stupid little tricks to continue to be like the Sean Payton of wide receivers.
45:28It's just, you're right. There is some, some risks there with that.
45:32But with that comes upside, of course, which we know wins championships.
45:35All right. We have another section that we can get to, which again, brought to you by Canadian brand icon, Bulk Barn.
45:42Uh, I, during this show, I was trying to look up a replacement for Bulk Barn, us related.
45:47And you're right. There's really not many. So it's still Bulk Barn, a very cheap buy who can produce for you in a pinch.
45:54These are some of my favorite types only because a lot of people moan and groan or roll their eyes when we talk about these types of players.
46:03But yet in the dog days of the season, when everyone's either on IR or we have eight bye weeks for the
46:09second time in the season, because NFL scheduling, you rely on these guys quite often.
46:14So they're nice to have in the back pocket.
46:16Rich, who have you brought to us today from Bulk Barn?
46:20Well, the first one is kind of almost Pat Bryant adjacent, uh, where I think he's just like a legitimately goodbye where he's priced.
46:27Um, and it's Ryan Floney, uh, who has multiple outs, I think to be a really strong dynasty.
46:32But I was reading, I was going back to my pre-draft, uh, write up of him.
46:37And I was like, and I was, I was pretty high on him.
46:41You know, obviously when you have those smaller school guys, you always kind of take it like that leap of faith.
46:47But I, I mean, we've been pretty good at kind of nailing these guys.
46:51Like we're feel vindicated on Coker. Now I feel kind of a little bit of vindicate vindication here on Floney, but he's a, he's unrestricted free agent.
46:59So is George Pickens. So like what wins out there?
47:02Uh, so he could be free and walk into a larger role.
47:06He's also just going to be straight up the Dallas Cowboys wide receiver three, which has, I think just face value on
47:12its own, um, to a guy that you could play.
47:15They'll probably have a little bit of a pass reduction this year, just because the defense is not going to be all
47:22time bad, uh, even if it improves. So he would be kind of the first guy.
47:26I know you were looking for like a really boring, uh, like veteran dust ball, but like, he's just, I just want to bring him up.
47:34Cause he's like left out, like he's like wide receiver 70, like in dynasty ranks.
47:39And I think that's as far too low. Like he's right.
47:42He's ranked under some guys. I think that are just like, you're that are just like drawing dead.
47:47Like you'll just never like, why even have some of these guys on your roster?
47:52Um, and then we saw the contingency value that he had last year.
47:56Like the two games that CD lamb missed, well, the one he left at halftime with the concussion for tonight, just came in and destroyed.
48:03And then the jets game that CD lamb missed, he absolutely smashed in that game as well.
48:08That was also part of like that sauce Gardner transition where like you were just playing wider C retweets against the jets.
48:15Cause like sauce was their only good defender. And like, he only stopped the wide receiver ones and like wide receiver twos just bludgeon them every single week.
48:23Uh, but like as far as dust ball status goes and maybe, uh, maybe Jacob will take offense, but he's pretty boring player.
48:30It'd be Michael Pittman. Uh, just like a guy to buy like wide receiver 48 50 pricing.
48:35This is not, this is basically like wide receiver, Jake Ferguson.
48:38Like at this point, like there's just like, there is not a lot of juice here, but man, does he walk into
48:45a spot where like, he can just get peppered from Aaron Rogers.
48:48Like, and you're never going to be excited to really play him, but he's just going to give you like that soft,
48:55just insulation of just PPR volume and points. So he would be like the dust ball status guy.
49:00I take no offense to Michael Pittman. Uh, like he, in fact, like it's so much easier to root for Michael Pittman
49:07when he's not on my team catching like five yard drag routes and falling down immediately.
49:11Uh, but I, I've had, I've had a love hate relationship with the Pittman over the years.
49:17I mean, he was, I think quite literally my highest drafted player in best ball last year.
49:22And it was going really well until Daniel Jones, um, broke his fibula and then tore his Achilles.
49:27So I, I like, I appreciate what Michael Pittman can do.
49:30I just have also like been subjected to what Michael Pittman can't do a few too many times for my liking.
49:36But I think the Colts got to reach that point too, where they were like, if my, cause there's the kind of
49:43thing with Michael Pittman is if he's on your team, you almost, you almost don't have a choice, but to throw them 24% of your passes.
49:51And it's like, is this healthy to throw 24% of our passes to a guy who like does nothing after the ball gets into his hands?
49:58And it's not necessarily, but the Steelers kind of needed a professional adult, like really bad.
50:03They, they were starting Ben Skoranek and Roman Wilson and a bunch of goofballs.
50:07So it probably makes more sense for them when, if Pittman is holding back a bunch of nothings, you know, versus holding
50:14back Josh Downs or 80 Mitchell or whoever else, like people with juice, it's probably less frustrating.
50:19And I definitely think in dynasty where you're usually looking at deeper rosters, right?
50:23It's usually start 10, start 11 leagues. The, that kind of floor play makes a lot more sense.
50:29He's a guy that can be acquired very cheaply and fill in.
50:32I, I like that call. So I'm, I'm not offended at all by Michael Pittman, Colts legend.
50:37And then for no, I'm, I'm in one, literally I only was in one dynasty startup this summer.
50:43Um, I don't know, maybe the fire is gone, but I took Ryan for no at the 20.9, uh, just a couple of days ago.
50:50And to Rich's point here are the wide receivers that were drafted immediately before and after Mr.
50:55Flournoy. It was, uh, Malik Washington, Barry and Brown, Jerry Judy, Chris Brazel, who's on season ending IR, uh, Kevin Coleman, Jr.
51:02Keon Coleman, Kyle Williams, Debo, Keishon Booty, Devon Vele, Bryce Lance, Roman Wilson.
51:05Like that, those, those are the people he's holding hands with.
51:09Uh, I like Flournoy. I, I think he's fun in terms of just like a, uh, uh, a guy who's good at the game.
51:16And I love that he's in Dallas because Dallas is weird about maybe not weird.
51:20Maybe, maybe it's a good thing, but Dallas is more willing to promote from within than almost any team in the league.
51:27Um, most of the time, I feel like teams don't appreciate what they have, but the guy like Flournoy and where even
51:33if they would let Pickens or Lamb go at some point, if they can't sustain paying both long-term, you feel like they
51:40would just replace a perfectly capable player with a first or second round pick because they can.
51:45Whereas Dallas is interesting enough where it's like when Zeke left, everybody was like, oh, they're going to bring someone in.
51:51No, they didn't. They just let Pollard play that year.
51:54And then when they let Pollard walk, they played Rico Dowdle.
51:57Um, and we're kind of seeing it with this year.
52:00It's like, well, they got to bring in someone to be RB2.
52:04It's like, no, they actually like Malik Davis for, for some reason.
52:08And, you know, with Flournoy, I think that could be the case where I could so easily see them trading Pickens or letting them walk or something.
52:16And everyone in the fantasy space is, well, they certainly can't go into the year with Ryan Flournoy as their wide receiver too.
52:22But Dallas is the team that I feel like would say, no, we're good here.
52:27Actually, like we, we like this guy and we'll let it ride.
52:30And if, if that happened, I mean, he could, he could bring back the type of value that say like Michael Gallup
52:37did next to Marty Cooper before CD Lamb came in.
52:40I mean, Gallup was a legit wide receiver too, at least one of those seasons.
52:44And I think Flournoy is, is similarly talented to, to Gallup.
52:48Uh, so I, I like that call a ton.
52:50Yeah, I like both these calls. Uh, I like Michael Pittman, especially Pittman was, I don't know if you guys ever have
52:57this experience when you're doing content in the summer, but I feel like now I'm at a point where if it's May
53:03or June and I'm writing about Michael Pittman, I'm like, Oh, I better get everything about Michael Pittman out right now.
53:10Because I can't talk about Michael Pittman in August when people are drafting like their shallow redraft leagues.
53:15I got, I got to get all my Michael Pittman is going to out target DK Metcalf and be like this great
53:22best ball advance rate piece takes out now in like in early June.
53:26So yeah, Pittman was that guy for me this year where I just haven't talked about him for going like six plus
53:32weeks, but I'm spiritually with you guys in these deeper formats for sure.
53:36Yeah, I did battle with Jacob last year, Michael Pittman jr.
53:39And like he said, it was looking really good for me for a while there, but not, not, turns out if you
53:46play with a significant back injury, things don't, things don't go too well for you.
53:50Um, statistically. So that was tough. I do like the offense in Pittsburgh.
53:54I feel like it's going to be a lot different than maybe what people have been used to.
53:59And yeah, shallow targets. Although I have high hopes for Darnell Washington, you know, Madden legend, but, um, yeah, maybe it's, maybe
54:06it's Michael Pittman and maybe it's not Darnell. Yes.
54:09Yes. They are elite Madden, uh, players. Sometimes you get on early.
54:12Like I remember Madden gamers run miles Austin early.
54:15Cause like he had like, he was like real tall and fat Vincent Jackson was like that too.
54:20Where like you just put them in the lineup and they got good in real life.
54:25And you're like, yeah, we knew, we knew that.
54:28Yeah. Darnell Washington. I have a feeling it's going to be a future five for five, uh, answer.
54:33If he breaks out this year, I really need, I really need that happen for me in my soul.
54:39So that's a, that is a great list. A little bit of a different take a different outlook on players to buy.
54:45I, and why rich with the time running backs, we buy no running backs.
54:49That's right. This dynasty. You're not allowed to talk about buying running backs and dynasty.
54:54That is the fastest way to have people turn your show off.
54:57We know this. We know this. We have a little bit of a break before the game to kick off rich.
55:04So for people that may not know, uh, on our audience, uh, what do you have in this?
55:09Well, a little bit of a break. What do you have coming up for them?
55:13I don't, I don't have a break. I've been writing up week one games this week.
55:18Uh, I've started, I've started, it's the only week I get to work ahead.
55:22And if you guys have ever checked out the worksheet, it is pretty in depth, uh, breakdown of all the games.
55:29So, uh, I'm taking an advantage. Uh, I'm on my fourth game, although I did kind of gloss over some of the 49ers stuff.
55:36Cause I'm just waiting to see if, uh, who travels to Australia or not.
55:40Uh, I mean, no, no one wants to write a couple hundred words on George Kittle.
55:45He doesn't get on a plane. Right. Like, so I'm just waiting.
55:48So I was waiting to see what happens, but there's already some fun stuff that I've ever uncovered.
55:54I'm excited about the Superbowl match rematch. Uh, cause I think it could be a, uh, not a different game.
56:00Like it's not going to be like a barn burner, but like, it's going to be a significantly different matchup with just
56:06the pieces, the Seahawks lost and the, uh, pieces the Patriots have gained.
56:10Uh, you get that 49ers Rams game, uh, after that on Thursday.
56:14And then like the first two games I wrote up after that were lion saints, which, oh my gosh, could be a ton of fun.
56:21And then Buccaneers bangles, which could sound fun on the surface, but as some real underpinning stuff, that's like, man, is this game going to be gross?
56:29Like every other bangles week, one game, week one bangles, dude, every single main event.
56:33I'm like, we're taking the Tampa Bay defense. We got the week one bangles, which are the worst team in the NFL.
56:40And then we go straight into the Browns week too.
56:43It's that's, that's, I've been dialed in on this.
56:46And you know, there's, there's, we've been talking about, I know Jacob wrote a giant, awesome piece on this.
56:51Uh, Ben's wrote a piece on this. I wrote like a trends piece on like where the NFL is going.
56:57And there are some teams that are just swerving into copying what the league is doing and wanting to play under center doing stuff.
57:04And the bangles are one of these teams. And I'm just waiting for it to self-destruct.
57:09Uh, cause you know, like Burrow, like the past four years, like under center, like his splits have been pretty bad.
57:15Like, you know, he's, he's a guy you just want to think you have awesome receivers.
57:20And you have a point guard, like a true, the point guard is underselling Joe Burrow, by the way.
57:26Like, uh, but like a guy who could just read the feed, put them in the gun and let them throw to
57:32Jamar chase and T Higgins and chase Brown in the backfield.
57:36Like what we don't need to dilly dally, apply action and manipulate any defenders.
57:40Like our guys are good enough to beat your guys heads up.
57:43And I look at this game like in week one and I'm like the Buccaneers have like this incredible front seven.
57:50They made like all of these additions. Like they get Reuben Bain, like Alex Anzalone, A's on Robinson.
57:55They draft Josiah Trotter and their secondary is trash.
57:58Like they lost Jamel Dean. Like they're basically playing, uh, Benjamin Morrison and Jacob Parrish.
58:02And I cannot wait for Zach Taylor to just try to get Joe Burrow under center and just get crushed by Todd bull blitzes after blitzes, after blitzes.
58:10Like, what are we doing here? And I'm excited to see how this lasts, but, uh, yeah, that's the kind of fun stuff.
58:17We're, we're getting under the bangles. Bengals are just so primed to like do this dumb experiment.
58:22Cause they're such a donkey team. Start three and four, eventually throw at everything they wanted to do in the off season.
58:29Let Joe Burrow cook, finish the season like eight and one or whatever, you know, and then Zach Taylor's back again next year.
58:36Last year. I mean, at least this is a more, this is at least probably a better adjustment than last year's adjustment,
58:42which is he said, we're going to avoid slow starts by, by like going up to the players and blasting loud music early in the morning.
58:50That was like the talking point going into week one last season.
58:54I, I can't with Zach Taylor, um, at all, but, uh, I'm sure they'll figure it out.
58:59Like through it, Zach Taylor getting blessed to coach this many years with Joe Burrow, Jabbar, Jason D Higgins.
59:04It's just so unjust, but I'm sure they'll figure it out eventually.
59:08I'm just excited to read the week one Baltimore Ravens write up.
59:11You're going to have, I don't, I don't get too optimistic.
59:15You and Jacob heads up week one. I know it's going to be a fun one, but I don't get fun.
59:21Like you guys are going to blast us. Well, I don't get too optimistic on the Ravens on this show, Rich, but I've got, I've got a hope.
59:29I have, I have him second in the AFC this year.
59:33So I'm, I'm drinking the new coaching staff Kool-Aid.
59:35So I'm, Hey, listen, you've got the DeForest Buckner going to get some real soft interior.
59:40That's the pat and DeForest Buckner won't have like a hernia to disc in his back yet.
59:45So that's, we just got to take advantage of that for the first couple of weeks.
59:50I will say that Colts burnt whatever luck we got from the schedule gods last year.
59:55If we just played no one for the first half of the season, man, did that ever turn?
60:00Like we start Ravens, cheese, Texans, yuck. And they, they, they, the Colts.
60:04I don't know if the Colts were the first team to do it, but when they started to give the teams the
60:10option to take the buy, I want to say that they were one of the first teams to not do it.
60:17Well, they're doing it again this year, except they go to Pittsburgh, like off of that, off the international game.
60:23It's like, oh, that's fine. That's actually fine because we, we've never won in Pittsburgh.
60:27I think like I'm, I'm being hyperbolic, but not really in the history of our franchise.
60:32So if you, if you're woke to Colts history, that's just an auto L anyway.
60:36So you might as well not bother with the buy.
60:39You could give us, Pittsburgh could play on Monday night and we could play them in Pittsburgh on Thursday night and we could have a year off.
60:47We're still never winning in Pittsburgh. It's just, it's never happened.
60:50Um, it's not happening. I want to say it's been like since the eighties, um, I'll, I'll double check this, but it's,
60:57uh, you may as well defer the buy cause we're not winning anyhow.
61:01Man. Yeah. The Colts are a team that this entire off season, like kept popping up for me, but I watched them win six games.
61:08The Anthony Richardson is their starting quarterback. So I can't put anything past Shane Steichen.
61:13Like I think he's just bono. He's legit bonafide a good coach.
61:16So he's great. He's great. We're, we're unfortunately going to go eight and nine and everyone's going to get fired, but I'm,
61:23I'm hopeful there's like some way that we could keep Shane Steichen.
61:26You are a fan of a team. I, I, I love Steichen.
61:30Ryan's grown up and just watched nothing but championship after championship.
61:33And he's like, ah, we go from Tom Brady to Drake, maybe we had Mac Jones for a couple of years.
61:40Who cares? Yeah, man. Steichen's going to be a phenomenal coach on his second team.
61:44I, I'm just, it is true, Rich. It was like a weird whiplash for me, but honestly, those few years in between
61:51where it was like the Cam Newton, Mac Jones teams, I was like this, I'm just like a pessimist by default.
61:57I was like, this feels almost more fun. Not, not actually, but in like a hyper online football fan type of way.
62:03I was like, I can just, I can just like snark this team so much more effectively now.
62:09You know what I thought was more fun when Peyton Manning was my quarterback?
62:13I thought that was pretty fun. Pretty decent. I'd like to go back to that.
62:17It's a pretty decent time. Well, of course, on screen, if you're watching on YouTube or if you're checking this out on
62:24the video on Spotify, you can check Rich's workout at Lord Reeves as well on X.
62:29It's always a great time having you on. We got to do this a little bit earlier in the season, but again, very happy.
62:36We could fit this in Rich again. Thanks for joining us.
62:39Thanks for watching. And if you haven't yet, because if you're watching this, that means Dynasty Points live has happened.
62:45You get to go back and check out to see what I have in store for these guys for five for five this week.
62:52I don't think they were really ready for it.
62:55They do not know the topic. So if you want to have a good time, go back, watch the live, catch up on all the news and notes.
63:03As we wrap up the NFL preseason on that right here on Dynasty Points for Rich Rebar, Jacob Sanderson, Ryan Heath.
63:09I'm Thomas Tipple. Remember that clear eyes and full heart can never lose and that your best days, well, they're always spent tilting.
63:16We'll see you guys next time.
