Breshad Perriman

PositiveValue40:14

Andrew Novak loved Perriman out of college at Virginia Tech and was impressed by him at Jaguars fall camp last year. Novak attended the preseason camp through a sponsor connection (Dream Fighters Homes is a major Jaguars sponsor) and saw Perriman stand out among the players there. Going in round five this year, Novak considers him a potential hipster pick—a player with college pedigree and preseason camp performance that may be undervalued relative to his talent and opportunity.

Chris Rodriguez

NegativeRole41:27

Chris Rodriguez mentioned as a potential competing option in the Jaguars backfield alongside Javante Williams; uncertainty about who becomes the primary touchdown-getting back in an offense with good potential.

Insight page

Chuba Hubbard

NegativeRole52:00

Chuba Hubbard's ADP is converging with Jonathan Brooks, but Novak (a Panthers fan) argues Hubbard is not a true pass-catcher despite catching many balls; he has 'bricks for hands' and was peppered with targets only because Bryce Young lacked other receiving options. Hubbard is a reliable, durable back who can handle 15 carries up the middle but offers limited ceiling and is essentially an average NFL running back.

Insight page

Davante Adams

PositiveValue48:18

Devante Adams led the NFL in red zone targets last year and likely repeats that role; even if Matthew Stafford regresses from 46 TDs to 35, Adams should secure at least 10 of those TDs, providing a safe TD floor. Novak sees Adams as a reliable red zone target who will likely return value at his Round 4–5 price, though acknowledges there are many other high-upside WR options at that stage and he is not 'enthralled' by the pick despite being above market on Adams.

Insight page

Javonte Williams

PositiveValue41:08

Novak hit with Javante Williams as a late-round value pick in his main league last year by targeting an offense with good potential but murky backfield clarity. Williams ended up with a 70% workload and touchdown upside, exemplifying the 'golden ticket' strategy of finding undervalued players in ascending offenses where role uncertainty creates draft-day value.

Insight page

Jonathon Brooks

PositiveSleeper53:00

Jonathan Brooks is the clear upside play over Chuba Hubbard in the Panthers backfield; as a capable receiver who must stay healthy, Brooks should get more fantasy-relevant touches than Hubbard despite similar volume splits. The Panthers' draft of deep-threat WR Jalen Coker signals a shift toward more passing, which favors Brooks. Novak prefers Brooks as a higher-upside dart throw in the late rounds, noting that if either back produces a zero, it doesn't matter much, so the higher ceiling is the better bet.

Insight page

Luther Burden

PositiveBreakout43:21

Novak was an early enthusiast on Luther Burden, rostering him in nearly every league last year waiting for the breakout; now that consensus has caught up, he remains excited about Burden's dynasty value and the ascending Bears offense. Novak compares Burden's ball-in-hand ability to CD Lamb, noting his route-running ability to work intermediate parts of the field. However, Novak acknowledges the Round 4 price is steep given the depth of WR options at that stage.

2:00Sponsored by DraftKings. All right, let's get into it here.
2:03I want to start with your journey. Andrew, I'm always fascinated by how people get to the top of various sports or really any profession at all.
2:11From what I could tell, you weren't some like child prodigy junior like a lot of these guys.
2:16Seem like it clicked later for you. How did you end up on tour or even not even on tour as a prospect in the junior ranks?
2:24Yeah, I got into golf late. I was playing all the other sports.
2:28So I really did go pretty under-recruited. I would say by my senior year, I mean, I was playing in top junior events.
2:35I played against Scotty. I've known Scotty, Sam Burns.
2:37Like I've known these guys since they were like 15, 16 years old because I used to compete against them in junior golf.
2:44But at that point in time, all the other schools had their recruiting classes filled up basically.
2:49You know, college coaches recruit kind of two years out and there's not a ton of scholarships available for the golf team.
2:55So if they got their two commits for that year, then you're kind of just out of luck.
3:01And that kind of happened to me. So I only ended up having one offer.
3:05But it worked out for me. Going to Wofford was great.
3:08You got Wofford stuff over here. You got Wofford stuff over here.
3:12You know, I showed a little love for the one school that actually offered me and gave me a platform to play.
3:18I think I improved a ton at Wofford and it really set me up for my pro career.
3:24Yeah, that's amazing. So people always talk about how hard it is to actually get your PGA Tour card.
3:29Oh, don't even try Q School. It's the hardest thing in the world.
3:33One out of a thousand guys that are incredible golfers come through Q School.
3:37How did you actually get on tour? What was like the turning point to get your card?
3:42Yeah. Q School. I don't want to say it's crazy hard because the competition level, while good, is not as deep as
3:49like, you know, when you're playing actually on Corn Fairy Tour and stuff.
3:52But I can comfortably say it's the most stressful thing I've ever done.
3:56I mean, your entire year is pretty much relying on how you perform over three or four days.
4:02Like whether or not you have a job for the whole, you know, it's not like a job interview like, oh, well,
4:08you know, I can line up another interview with somebody else in a few days.
4:12Like you're kind of cooked for like the year if you don't perform.
4:16So it is incredibly stressful. I had to go through Q School twice.
4:20Luckily, I was able to get through first and second stage pretty comfortably both times.
4:25Never really had to sweat it out too bad.
4:27And then at final stage, I played all right both years, but never actually guaranteed myself any starts.
4:32But thankfully, I was able to first year Monday qualify a few times and earn my way.
4:37And then the second year, I did end up getting in some early events and played well enough to kind of have
4:44a consistent role on the Corn Fairy Tour. And that kind of ended up setting me up.
4:49I was on the Corn Fairy Tour for four years, three seasons because the COVID season was like put into a two-year cycle.
4:56But I think that was big for me. I think I learned a lot on Corn Fairy Tour.
5:01I think it prepared me very well for the PGA Tour.
5:04There's not really anything like that in football. You know, there's no like, I mean, you could argue like, I guess there's
5:11been some UFL guys that have ended up sort of getting contracts.
5:14But like the PGA Tour, some of the best golfers were on the Corn Fairy Tour.
5:19It's not like, you know, there's not like a story where like Mahomes was on like in Canadian League football and then came over.
5:26Like that's not really a thing in football. But for golf, everybody kind of starts somewhere.
5:31And there's not many like similar stories to how guys got places.
5:34There are a lot of roundabout ways of, you know, the ways guys that make it to the tour.
5:40And each story is very different. But, you know, every guy earns their way there once they're there.
5:45I'm curious if you had like a backup plan.
5:48You know, one thing I think about golf is if you're really good at golf, even if you're not quite good enough
5:54to be on tour, you can always make money.
5:57I mean, there's so many people that are willing to pay a lot for lessons or tour pro or whatever, make a lot of money.
6:04Did you have a backup plan in golf or was your backup plan something outside of golf or no backup plan at all?
6:11No, I mean, I had a degree from college, but no, I didn't have a backup plan.
6:16I just knew that everything that I had done in school, everything else, you know, that was available to me, like outside
6:22of golf was not anything I wanted to do.
6:25It was more of like a scared straight kind of thing.
6:28Like, I don't want to do anything else other than this.
6:31So I'm going to make sure that I put the time in that is going to lead to this working out for me, basically.
6:39Yeah. I think, you know, the second you hear of a pro taking a second job or doing something else, like maybe
6:45you have to if money's tight, but that's not going to be a good sign for your golf game.
6:51So for sure. You kind of got to be all in.
6:54Yeah. So just we're going to fast forward a lot through Andrew's career here, but you go to 2025 wins the tag
7:00team event with Ben Griffin, who also had like a crazy story.
7:04I've heard his story about how he got his card.
7:07But yeah, wins the tag team event with Ben Griffin, which is amazing accomplishment.
7:11And then I guess the week before that goes to a playoff.
7:14Andrew went to a playoff in a signature event, lost to Justin Thomas, JT.
7:19But man, I mean, these signature events, there's so much money in them and obviously all the exemptions, everything that goes with it.
7:25So that little stretch there, you know, it strikes me that like you get hot for two weeks, for three weeks, for God forbid, a month.
7:33And it sets you up so, so, so massively.
7:36So yeah, I mean, that 2025 season had to be an insane, insane feeling for sure.
7:40Are all in those lines? My biggest strategy question, and obviously we're in the business of projecting golf.
7:46It's the hardest thing for us is to tell where a guy's aim point is.
7:50And like, I think I've heard you talk about this before, but I think there's something with some guys are going flag
7:56hunting, like trying to increase variance to win tournaments.
7:59And other guys are like, I'm just gonna make a bunch of cuts.
8:03I'm gonna go for the middle of the green.
8:06Is that going through your head? Do you think different guys have different aim points on different holes?
8:11Some guys are more aggressive than others. And what do you think is the right strategy for aggression and variance when you're playing these tournaments?
8:18I think it depends. I mean, in golf, you very, I mean, you really don't have the same shot twice.
8:24Like, every shot is its own thing. And I think my caddy and I, you know, we do a good job of,
8:31you know, trying to make the best decision each time for the shot.
8:34Like, how aggressive do I want to be? What am I aiming at?
8:38Where, you know, do I want to be a little past the flag, a little short of the flag?
8:44Like, where's it going to set me up in the best spot, which also is minimizing risk?
8:49I think there's a lot of that. I mean, Scotty hits at the middle of the green a lot.
8:54So, that's just, you know, generally on the green is going to be better than off the green.
9:00So, I think there is a lot of math that guys are doing.
9:03There's a lot of factoring things in. A lot of guys, including me, now have stats guys that basically can help us break down courses.
9:11We know, you know, when we're going for a certain pin that this bunker is about a 40% up and down.
9:17This short fairway area is a 75% up and down.
9:20Like, we're factoring all these things in. You know, wind direction can make things tougher or easier.
9:25But we generally know, you know, where are better spots to be than worse spots to be.
9:30We have some numbers to back that up. And we're making the most educated guess we can to, you know, lock in our target.
9:37And then it just comes down to me hitting a good shot.
9:40Yeah, I'm not sure what kind of fantasy football you play.
9:44But it reminds me a little bit of DFS where, like, there's some guys out there that are just going for a lot of min caches.
9:51You know, like you play kind of chalky teams.
9:54You play the hashtag best plays. And you're likely to, likelier than not, to min cash.
9:59But your chances of getting first aren't that high.
10:01It strikes me as similar in golf where, like, a lot of the money is up top.
10:06And for sure, all the exemptions and keeping your card and everything is up top too.
10:11So, yeah, I don't know if you play DFS at all.
10:14But it just, it struck me as somewhat similar.
10:17There is very much a correlation in the sense that most guys will do most of their damage for the year over, like, three or four weeks.
10:25Like, the way the points are, like, you know, a second place is 300 points.
10:29Like, FedExCup points. I mean, if you finish 25th, you're going to have to finish 25th, like, eight times.
10:35Yeah, probably, like, eight times to get 300 points.
10:37Like, you know, getting that extra couple shots when you're up near the top of the leaderboard means so much as far as money, points, stuff like that.
10:46So, they're definitely, I don't know if guys are just, like, going crazy aggressive all week, really, to get there.
10:52But there definitely is something to be said for, like, you know, you need those few high finishes.
10:57You can't just kind of get by with decent to solid finishes consistently because it just, the fall off in points from,
11:03you know, the top few positions definitely is kind of exponential.
11:07Yeah. You mentioned you have a stats slash analytics guy.
11:10You mentioned stuff about the course. Is there anything else that your analytics guy is helping you with?
11:15What are you trying to accomplish with this kind of data or coaching?
11:19Yeah. I mean, there's also, like, personal stats. So, you know, there's stats for the course.
11:23There's stats breaking down how holes play. But there's also stats for me.
11:27So, how well am I doing in certain aspects of the game?
11:31Like, this year, T to green, you know, I was one of the best players in the world last year.
11:37I was a top 20 whatever, you know, finished very high up on the fast cut points.
11:42I've actually been better T to green this year.
11:44Uh, I've put a lot of work in, in the gym.
11:47And, uh, one of the things I struggled with last year, like, was off the T.
11:52I just wasn't very long or straight. And, uh, not only have I picked up speed this year, but I'm also hitting it somewhat straighter off the T.
12:00I think I was looking at today. I think, uh, in the last 15 events, I think I've gained off the T in 14 of them.
12:08Uh, which is not something I've never done that ever, ever, ever.
12:12So, uh, it's really cool to see stuff like that.
12:14I'm actually finishing like, you know, up there and driving distance, finishing up there off the T.
12:19And that's led for, to, to my T to green stats being very good.
12:24Even though, uh, I think my approach has been pretty similar.
12:27My around the green hasn't been as high as last year, but I was just chipping in at an insane rate last year.
12:34I just haven't matched that up. So, uh, not chipping in as much this year has kind of caused that to be
12:40down, but still T to green has been great.
12:43It's just, I've been basically one of the worst, if not the worst putter on the PGA tour this year.
12:49Uh, and that's, that's hold me back. So I can go look at stats that show, you know, where I'm missing putts,
12:55what, what windows I'm missing putts on to go try and work on that.
12:59Um, it's been a crazy frustrating thing to deal with all year.
13:03I feel like I've hit pretty much good putts for the entire season and nothing's going in.
13:08And, uh, it's frustrating thing because it's like, what do you, you know, if I hit a good putt where I was
13:14trying to hit it, how do you fix that?
13:17Like there's nothing to fix there. Just the ball didn't go in.
13:20So it's been frustrating to kind of deal with that, but I have stats that I can look at.
13:26So, you know, I can go try and work on, you know, 10 footers or six footers or something, you know, some
13:32specific area that, um, is, you know, maybe not up to like the standard of the average PGA tour player.
13:38Yeah. I mean, the data is very clear that like the best players are often the best players off the tee.
13:44Cause you can go anywhere in the world. If you can hit it three 30 straight every time, that's going to go with you everywhere.
13:52Whereas the putting is so variant. It's like guy can putt great one week and he can be the worst putter in the field.
13:59That's the next week. I mean, is that, is that the sense on tour?
14:03Like guys are like, listen, I'm going to do what I can, but the putting is just, it is what it is.
14:09So one of the things for me last year that I noticed, because last year was my first kind of breakout year.
14:16I started getting into some tournaments that I hadn't been in before, uh, like playing at Quail Hollow, playing at, um, Muirfield village at Jack's tournament.
14:24And some of these courses, and I knew I was going to be playing masters this year.
14:29Some of these courses, I felt like very much benefited being able to drive the ball farther.
14:33And I felt, you know, for how, you know, I'm a big guy, I got long arms.
14:38Like I should be able to move the ball more.
14:41I felt like I could get more out of my body, um, than what I was.
14:46So I felt like going forward because I knew I was going to be on these tournaments again this year.
14:52I made it a big, you know, off season point of mine to try and gain the distance.
14:57I felt like, you know, my short game is good.
15:00Everything else is good. Like I'm still going to be able to compete at like Harbor town and some of these smaller courses.
15:07So I'm not concerned about that, but I want to be able to maximize my opportunities to win tournaments by, you know,
15:13hitting the ball a little bit farther and being able to compete on some of these bigger ballparks.
15:19And I think I've done that this year. It's just the, the putter, you know, I didn't anticipate the, the, I mean,
15:25absolute precipitous fall off of the butter this year.
15:28That's just kind of an unfortunate thing. But, um, I think, you know, I, I do think I was able to like,
15:34uh, hit the mark on what I was trying to do off the tee.
15:38I feel like it, it does give me a chance at some of these courses, uh, that maybe I wouldn't have had otherwise.
15:45I think the driver, you know, hitting it far travels kind of anywhere.
15:49Some, some courses, it's not as big an advantage, but it is nice to have that option.
15:54You know, when it, when it comes up, um, the, so much of golf data and golf analytics is just all around strokes gained.
16:01And I know, I know there are some holes in strokes gained.
16:05I know some people are doing their own strokes gain, not using the ones that the PGA tour publishes.
16:10What do you think of all the strokes gained data to there's holes in it?
16:15Do you think it's as good as we can do?
16:18Or, or how do you guys use the strokes gain stuff?
16:21Yeah. Um, I, I do look at strokes gained a lot.
16:24Like strokes gained is tough. Like it's, it's frustrating to deal with, but it's also like, it's kind of fair to golf
16:30because when you look at strokes gained, like it is pretty heavily favored to putting, like, like to me, putting is like the biggest thing.
16:38But then you look at like who's winning tournaments.
16:40It's usually the guys who are putting the best.
16:43So I think it is like a fair way, uh, to look at that.
16:47And it makes sense that like your strokes gained for the day is exactly what you shot compared to the field average.
16:54So that's how many strokes you gained on the field average.
16:57So to me in general, it does make sense, but, um, I think it's not perfect as far as like a 15
17:03yard chip here is not the same as a 15 yard chip.
17:07Um, like, like there's different factors. Like sometimes you, you know, it's not like sometimes you'll get dinged cause you have a
17:13chip that's impossible, but there's nothing you can do about that.
17:17Like hopefully over time, you know, that stuff like evens out, but I don't think it's like perfect in small margins, but
17:23I do think over the course of like a season, I think it's a fair way to look at stats just because,
17:30um, the one-off stuff like that evens itself out.
17:32Uh, I think for baseline, like season long stuff.
17:35Yeah. It's, it's a good way to tell who's driving the ball.
17:38Well, who's putting the ball well. Um, but it's, I mean, there's definitely flaws with it, but I, I don't think there's
17:45a ton of other stats that I think are a better explanation for, you know, how golf replaced.
17:50Yeah. Um, okay. When I, when I'm watching golf, one of the things that drives me crazy, I'm watching the broadcast on
17:57Friday afternoon and these guys on the broadcast have zero clue where the cut is going.
18:01They get their only cable of saying like where the cut is now, how aware of you, how, where are you when
18:08you are on the course of where the cut line is going?
18:11Cause it's not that hard to figure out like, you know, with, with Sims and stuff, you can clearly figure out at
18:18any time on a Friday, what we think the cut will be in four hours.
18:22Not what it is right now. Yeah. I, I, some of the guys do look at it, but I really like the
18:29guys need to be looking at data golf. Uh, data golf is, it's the best way to at least track.
18:35And I don't think data golf is perfect data golf.
18:37Uh, their model lags behind decently when there's a wave split.
18:41So like say, say here at the open, um, I, uh, this past week when the wind kicks up in the afternoon, their data lags behind.
18:48So I think you can sometimes get a feel for which way a cut line's moving based on how the percentages start sliding.
18:55Like, I think their percentages will get off a little bit because it's not adjusting quickly enough for the changing like conditions on the course.
19:02But for the most part, data golf does a good job.
19:06Uh, I'm not sure. Are you familiar with data?
19:08Yeah. Yep. For sure. Okay. Um, data golf does a pretty good job at like giving a pretty good feel for about where it's going to fall.
19:16And I think, yeah, the broadcast, it would be, it would be good to do that.
19:21Or even if they post like current cut projected cut kind of thing, like, I think that would be a nice way
19:27to, you know, give, give the fans a little bit more of a understanding how it's going.
19:32Yeah. I just, and I see players making mistakes and I actually don't know if they're making mistakes.
19:38I don't know exactly what they're trying to do, but like, if you're on the cut line and you know what the
19:44cut is going to be, like, let's say you were in a poker tournament and you were nearing the bubble.
19:50If you bust this hand, you get $0. If you bust in five hands later, you get $10,000.
19:55Like that is just absolutely massive. And it strikes me as somewhat similar on the cut line.
20:00Like you should be folding near the bubble of a poker tournament.
20:04If you're short, you know, pocket tens, pocket jacks.
20:06And like, same thing in golf. I feel like if you're near the cut line, you should not be ripping driver when
20:13you don't have to, or being more aggressive than you should.
20:16So yeah. Do you think guys are factoring that in at all?
20:20Yes. And yes, a hundred percent guys are playing for the cut.
20:23Like if you, you know, if you're near the cut line, the problem is sometimes you don't know, you know, we, we don't always have a leaderboard there.
20:31So you're guessing. Uh, sometimes you don't quite know how it's moving.
20:35Like we definitely don't know the percentages. And so, yeah, there I've been burned a time or two where I thought I
20:41needed another birdie and maybe try and get aggressive.
20:44I, I, you know, you stand by it. Like, you're like, Hey, given what we had info wise, we thought we needed a birdie here.
20:51It sucks that it didn't work out that way.
20:54But like, yeah, sometimes you can get burned guessing, but there's other times where, you know, knowing like, Hey, I'm safe here.
21:01Let's, let's just play this one middle of the green and, uh, you know, we'll make our move tomorrow kind of thing.
21:07There, there is absolutely, you know, ideally you start having those conversations as late as possible Friday.
21:12You don't want to be like really sitting on the cut line.
21:16Cause, uh, you, you don't want to be just like punting seven straight holes or something, uh, back night Friday.
21:21Cause you know, if you're starting Saturday and T 61st, like that's going to be a pretty long climb.
21:27So ideally you want to get three or four coming in there Friday and get yourself in a position where you can move up Saturday.
21:34But, uh, yeah, those last couple holes on Friday, if it's right there, like it can be tough too, because if you're
21:41on that cut line, you probably don't have your best stuff anyway.
21:44So you're just trying to like guide it in and, uh, yeah, it can definitely be tough.
21:49Okay. I want to get to some, uh, gambling related stuff around golf.
21:53I'm always curious. What is the vibe amongst tour players on gambling?
21:57Obviously since the past, but repeal, uh, a lot has changed.
22:00We had the Jordan Spieth quote last week. I'm not sure if you saw it, but Jordan said, I do, I do
22:06think that betting in golf is something that is going to have to be tackled here soon.
22:11And hit speed's point was in golf. Unlike other sports, people are quiet.
22:15Fans are standing so close. I could go to an event, bet speed to miss the cut and go scream in his backswing or something like that.
22:23And I think that was, uh, his point. What is the general vibe?
22:27Do you think among players on tour with all the family?
22:30Stuff. There's definitely been talk like with players about it to, at least as far as I know, there still hasn't been
22:37like a major issue, like a clear and obvious, okay, this guy showed up to the tournament to try and make this guy mess up.
22:44Like, I still haven't heard that, but yeah, it is something that's been discussed like amongst the players.
22:49Like, is that going to be a thing that happens?
22:52Uh, we'll see when it comes to that. I don't know if like, I don't know if like him saying that it's
22:59going to happen, you know, that it's something that has to be dealt with soon is like fair.
23:04Like, I don't know when something like that will come up.
23:07Like, you know, golf and betting and golf's been around a bit, uh, and it hasn't happened yet.
23:13So maybe it won't happen. I don't know. I think in general, like betting for golf is probably a decent thing.
23:19It brings us, you know, more eyes, more revenue.
23:21Um, so I do think it is a beneficial thing as far as that, but then there's also, you know, the ethical
23:28concerns about like, you know, people betting more than they can.
23:31Like, yeah, it's not, it's not great. And if people start trying to influence tournaments, that's also not great.
23:37I think it's probably not going anywhere would be my guess because just like bottom line kind of, you know, there's, there's
23:43money involved, but, uh, I hope it doesn't come to that where we're dealing with, with fans.
23:48I'm learning it out. I mean, there's plenty enough, like, you know, last year with how well I was playing, I had
23:55a lot of people betting on me. So if I had a bad day, I pretty much always had, um, you know,
24:01at least somebody was in, in my DMS, letting me know that I sucked and let them, let them down out of five bucks.
24:08Uh, I will say it's actually a little bit disappointing though.
24:11I've had such a bad season. Nobody's betting me anymore.
24:14So when I have a bad day, you know, I kind of miss, I kind of miss my, my haters showing up,
24:21but it's, it's a little depressing having a bad day and then realizing nobody's even mad at me because nobody bet me anyway.
24:27Um, Um, but it, yeah, it's look, there's, there's definitely bad that comes with it.
24:32But, um, I also think I saw good last year where people would know who I was because, uh, my name was
24:38getting out of there, getting out because people were betting on me.
24:42There were some, you know, sharps or whatever. They were on me early, you know, when I first started playing well.
24:48And I think there is some good with it, but it just, you know, it's going to come with that for sure.
24:55I mean, my, my take is always like, I hope that the gambling money that the leagues are bending and fitting from is going through to the players.
25:03In other words, like I sit there and I watch the John Deere on Thursday morning, not because I love watching golf
25:09so much, but because I have fantasy lineups, you know what I mean?
25:13And like, so I would not be sitting there watching the golf channel on Thursday morning, 3M.
25:18Um, unless I had teams. So I know that creates more ratings and hopefully that creates bigger prize pools when I know
25:25like prize pools has been an issue in PGA with all the good stuff also.
25:29So yeah, I hope it, it works through. Um, one thing that I got asked about that drives us crazy in the
25:35golf projection stuff is the injury reporting. I mean, I cannot tell you how many times, and we're so used to having
25:42these clean injury reports in the NFL and the NBA.
25:45I cannot tell you how many times we have a guy withdraw after DraftKings locks, but before his tee time, or he plays bad at an event.
25:53And then he says, Oh yeah, my shoulders have been messed up for the last month.
25:57We just have no clue whatsoever. We're flying blind.
26:00Do you think players would be open to a more rigorous injury reporting system at all?
26:05I, my guess is players don't want it because we're golfers and we're just so insanely soft compared to like, like you,
26:11uh, you want to list somebody questionable cause they slept funny.
26:14Like that's, that's a, that's a normal injury for a golfer.
26:18It's like, Oh, I slept funny. My neck's a little tight.
26:21Like that's like a reasonably common injury for like a golfer compared to like, I don't want to be like putting that out like to the internet.
26:29Like, Oh, sorry. I slept funny. Like, I don't, I don't need the public knowing that.
26:34Uh, I do think what probably would be a good idea is for, you know, DraftKings or whatever to have something set up.
26:40Like, Hey, if this guy pulls out cause he's hurt, whoever the first alternate gets thrown in the field, that's who's getting thrown on your team.
26:48Like may suck for you, but Hey, you got a new guy to root for that.
26:53You may never heard of, heard of. And I don't know, getting like at least somebody, some fans that maybe wouldn't otherwise have it.
27:00I don't know. Do something like, I know that there's frustration with that.
27:04And, uh, hopefully that's, you know, again, people betting aren't directing that at the player that, you know, I'm sure the player's upset.
27:10He had a WD as well. So it doesn't need more hate thrown on.
27:14I don't think the injuries in golf are like, it shouldn't be that seriously.
27:19I don't know. I don't, I don't want to be reporting injuries.
27:22I mean, I was playing hurt for a bit last year.
27:25Um, people didn't really know too much. It's just, yeah, I don't know.
27:29Like, well, yeah, it's, it's hard. Cause we don't know.
27:32Like we, if we had uniform for everyone, it'd be easier.
27:35But then like Justin Rose says, Oh, I've been battling this, this back thing, uh, or whatever.
27:40Well, Andrew might be battling a back thing also.
27:43So if we put a doc on Justin Rose, we have no idea of Andrew's also battling it back thing.
27:49So yeah, it just makes it really hard. We have no idea.
27:52We're, we're all gone. Like everybody it's we're look, we're in what late July.
27:56Like everybody's their wrist hurts. Their knees been, but you know, it's we're golfers.
28:01Like we got little things, like there's nothing serious.
28:03Like you go ask any guy like, yeah, my fingers been doing this weird thing.
28:08Like, what are we going to just put everybody as questionable?
28:11Like we're all soft. We're golfers. Like it is like how serious it is.
28:15Like if we can play, it's not that serious.
28:18Yeah. Like that's, that's what it comes down to.
28:20Like, we're going to be fine. It's not like we're tough and through like a sprained ankle or like, you know, nobody's playing through like a pulled hammy.
28:28Like that's not, that's not a thing. Like if we can go out there and play, we're good.
28:34There's no like playing all questionable for sure. Um, majors.
28:37So we have found that certain players consistently outperform their baseline at majors.
28:41In other words, they're just like really good majors players.
28:43And it's not always because of the course setups.
28:46You know, we've seen some really tough setups at PGA.
28:49We've seen some relatively easier setups at some other, uh, places, obviously certain majors have certain course characteristics, but it just, it
28:56strikes me that outside of that, like some guys are just majors players.
28:59Do you feel that, do you think there's any, uh, do you feel that on tour or what do you think about all the major stuff?
29:07I think in general, majors are good tests. Uh, yes, even, even if scores are a little lower, there's still tough holes.
29:13It's still a lot of what the course is asking you mentally.
29:17It's going to be a longer week. Um, the lead up in the week, the, the way the week progresses, there's no
29:23pro-am there's no, um, it's just a different, it's just a different prep to the week.
29:28Um, the schedule's not the same, uh, the way that they run the tournaments because it's not, you know, the PGA tour running it.
29:35It's either, you know, Augusta national running it. It's USGA RNA, uh, PGA of America.
29:40So it, because it's different people running it. It's just, they're, they are different.
29:44They feel different. The vibe of the week's different.
29:46There's people at the tournaments Tuesday and Wednesday. Like we don't have fans Tuesday at a PGA tour, but that's not really
29:53a thing, but like, you know, you go masters to the, even you go to the open on Tuesday, it was slammed.
29:59How many people were there, uh, this past week?
30:02So it just, it is a different vibe, a different feel to it.
30:06Um, why some guys play better at majors than others.
30:09And I don't know, maybe it's, uh, a mental edge there.
30:12Uh, maybe some guys are able to lock in a little bit more for a certain event more than others.
30:18I don't know why it is. Um, okay. Last golf specific question that our, uh, golf nerds, internal golf nerds making me
30:24ask you, does it matter who you're playing with?
30:27In other words, let's say you're in a group with two other guys and they both shoot really, really bad.
30:33Is that worse for you than playing in a group where the guys you're playing with play really well?
30:38I would say, yes, it matters who you're put, who you play with, but not in the sense that you just put,
30:45um, I don't think it matters so much how well or how poorly the guys are playing.
30:50It more so matters who you're playing with. And I'm not going to start calling guys out or anything, but there's absolutely
30:56a certain guys I'd rather play with than other guys.
30:59Uh, some of it's, you know, pace of play related.
31:02Some of it's just general vibes related. Um, but yeah, I, I got paired with Foxy first two rounds this past week.
31:09Uh, we had a great time. I w I will happily be paired with Foxy every single tournament.
31:14That guy is awesome. Um, yeah, there's, there's certain guys you definitely like seeing that you're paired with.
31:19I've never seen anyone play that fast with so much on the line.
31:23Like I had not watched him play that much.
31:26I mean, it's crazy. Like to win the open, he's standing over putt.
31:30He like barely even looks at it. He just like gets there and hits it.
31:34It's great. But that's, that's how I knew he was comfortable.
31:37Like I would, they were talking on the broadcast on 18, he was in the fairway and the group in front was
31:44kind of taking their time on the greens. And they were talking about how fidgety was in the fairway, stepping off different than I was like, perfect.
31:52Like, this is exactly what he needs because I'd be more worried if he was standing still, if he was, uh, you
31:58know, just waiting, sitting there waiting for the group.
32:01Like he is a fast guy. So, you know, the way he plays, he was keeping in that same rhythm of how
32:07he goes, uh, how he goes about it. Uh, I'm glad he didn't change anything.
32:12He stuck to, you know, how he plays like that's, he is comfortable playing that fast.
32:16That's how he plays every single day. And in the biggest moment, he stuck to what he does and what he does best.
32:23And, uh, it showed, I mean, he was executing a crazy high level, uh, coming down the stretch there, even with a couple of horrendous breaks.
32:31So, um, yeah, he stayed within his process and he treated those shots like every other shot, you know, he'd done since Thursday.
32:37That's the pace he was playing Thursday and, uh, he kept it going.
32:41Yeah. Crazy, crazy to watch. Okay. A couple more random questions before we get to Andrew's favorite topic here, fantasy football, you know, playing sports for money.
32:49Like, you know, I'm a 43 year old witherous, but playing sports for money is still my personal favorite thing to do.
32:56Golfers are notorious for playing money games or practice rounds, hometown games.
32:59What's that like on tour? And don't say, you don't know what I'm talking about.
33:04Cause I know, you know what I'm talking about.
33:06There's definitely guys out there playing for money for sure.
33:09Yeah. I would say like on tour at tournaments, definitely less money games than you might think, but at home specifically, you
33:16know, being at sea Island and stuff, there's plenty of money games at home.
33:20I think it's a decent way to simulate pressure.
33:22I don't think it's a perfect way. Um, you know, tournament golf is really the only way to simulate tournament golf, but
33:29it, it helps to try and put a little something on something just to get you try and mimic that, that sort of mindset of, of a tournament.
33:37Um, I think having good competition, this is, this is why you see clusters of guys around the States, you know, there's
33:44a bunch of guys in Jupiter, a bunch of guys, Dallas, uh, Scottsdale Phoenix, like guys want to compete with other good players.
33:50And I think it helps, you know, having guys locally that can push you.
33:54Um, okay. Last golf question. Uh, this is from our own golf prospect grinder, Skylar Hoke.
33:59I mean, this guy is sick. He's following the corn fairy tour.
34:03He's following the Canada tour. He's following the college golf.
34:06He wanted me to ask you who you think is the most talented player who is not currently on the PGA or live right now.
34:13He may not like this answer because technically maybe he is sort of on the PGA tour sort of, um, but he's
34:19not fully broken out yet, but his name is everywhere.
34:22He's up there every single week on corn fairy tour.
34:25He's been up there a ton of times on PGA tour.
34:29Uh, it's blaze Brown. Uh, the kids are real deal.
34:31Um, he's the best junior golfer I've ever played with.
34:34And, uh, I think the way he goes about his business, he's very serious about it.
34:39Uh, like he's definitely still a kid. Like he's, he's just a goofy kid, but like, you know, when he's being interviewed,
34:46when he's going about his practice, he's very serious and he does treat it like a professional.
34:51And, uh, every single week he's learning, like he's just tacking on like new stuff.
34:55He's taking it all in and he's getting better.
34:58And, uh, it's, that's a name we're probably going to be hearing for a long time.
35:02Love it. Okay. Let's get to the fantasy stuff.
35:05I, I honestly don't know what's going on here.
35:08So I assume, or I'm guessing that you're just been like loving fantasy forever.
35:12I didn't watch it on YouTube. I mean, Andrew looks like he's ready to do like a mock draft for like a
35:18super flex or something like that and stream it.
35:21How did you get in to fantasy and what is your fantasy football background here?
35:25Yeah, I I've played fantasy football for a long time.
35:28Just in general, football is something that I've always loved.
35:31Uh, I played it for a bit, but, uh, just too soft to play football, but I've always loved football.
35:37I think, uh, even coaching football, like when I'm done with, done with golf, like post golf career or something that I've always thought would be really cool.
35:45Um, you know, I have a NFL podcast that I do with my buddy and we talk, we talk some fancy football.
35:52We talk some, you know, a little bit of news or whatever, but, uh, yeah.
35:56Fantasy is always like something that I feel like I'm talking with you, whether it's my caddy on the golf course, some
36:03buddies at home, like it's just, I don't know.
36:05It's a hobby of mine. It's something I love doing.
36:08And, uh, I don't, I don't know the way my brain is like, I see stuff, I see stats and I remember it.
36:15And I just, uh, it's, it's fun getting into the gross details of what's going on dynasty, what's going on with players
36:21that are going to be coming up in a couple of years out of college.
36:26Like I just, I love football. I watch it.
36:28And, um, it's something that's just fun for me to talk about.
36:32Uh, are you like grinding Twitter? Like, do you like, uh, are, were you familiar with me or, or, or Silva or
36:38JJ or anybody like that from the Twitter? Like how deep?
36:42Absolutely. Absolutely. All that stuff's coming up. I get, you know, I get it from a ton of different, uh, a ton of different sources.
36:49Some of it I agree with and take in some of it.
36:53I, you know, I'm like, all right, he's maybe reaching for some content right now, but, uh, yeah, I, you know, I
36:59have my own thoughts on it as well. I just, I do love seeing where everybody's coming from and hearing different viewpoints.
37:05Um, yeah, yes, absolutely. What's the name of your podcast?
37:08I give it a plug here. I'm sure people.
37:11Yeah. Uh, we're, we're the screenplay podcast. We're on a little hiatus right now.
37:15We take a break in the summer, but, uh, we'll be starting up here in August and a bit, we just do weekly.
37:22Um, it's not specifically fantasy. We do talk fantasy, but, uh, you know, we talk NFL news.
37:27We'll sometimes have some guests on, and it's just a fun way for me to kind of just talk football during the season.
37:34It's a college teammate of my former college teammate of mine.
37:37And, uh, yeah, it's just something that fun for me to do.
37:40Let's me talk football. You know, I'm watching the games anyway.
37:44It doesn't take, you know, a ton extra of my time.
37:47Um, but yeah, it's, I just love talking, talking ball.
37:50So, um, so what do you play mostly season long fantasy or dynasty or best ball or DFS or no, no DFS.
37:56I do like, I mean, I see all kinds of best ball stuff and I can give takes on best ball.
38:02I don't play best ball, but I, you know, I'll give to like, I, you know, I have certain players that I'm
38:09like, you know, this guy, I'd probably prefer on a best ball team and then seasonally season long, but, uh, mainly season long.
38:16Uh, I've got, I probably got like four or five leagues that I'm in, um, a few dynasty leagues.
38:21Um, my main league is just like a keeper league that my caddy runs.
38:25Um, each year we, we, we have a good time with it.
38:29Uh, we, those, those guys take it serious. We, I mean, we'll do, we, we did destination draft last year, Atlantic city,
38:35like, you know, where, uh, we, we have some fun with that one.
38:39And then, you know, I got a, a league with, uh, my former college teammates at Wofford.
38:44So yeah, I got a bunch of leagues, but it's pretty much all season long stuff.
38:49Uh, our guys, are there other fantasy football fanatics on tour?
38:52I'm not aware of besides. Yeah. Yeah. Um, there's definitely some leagues on tour.
38:56I, I don't, I haven't run into anybody yet that I'd be like, is, is there are some guys, you know, like
39:03I bet like Jordan would like to tell you that he's like, you know, sharp or whatever.
39:08I don't know if anybody is going to out ball me in talking.
39:12I haven't, haven't gotten there yet, but yeah, there's some guys, Nick Hardy's big bears fan.
39:16He can talk some ball. Um, there are leagues around, around the, uh, around the tour, but I don't know, I don't
39:23know how many guys are really on top of their stuff.
39:26Yeah. And to be clear, I was trying to research what the exact PGA tour rules were prior to this around fantasy or, or, or gambling or anything.
39:34You guys cannot obviously bet on anything PGA tour, PGA tour, but if you wanted to play DFS or if you wanted
39:41to bet on a football game, I believe that's allowed by the PGA.
39:44Yeah. We can, we can do fantasy football. We can do stuff like that.
39:49I don't think there'd be any problems with DFS for, for NFL.
39:52It's, you know, we just can't do anything golf related.
39:55All right. Well, I want to, yeah, well, I want to get a sense for where, where you sit here on the scale.
40:02You know, we have the hipster scale up to the, up to the boomer scale here.
40:07My, my main question when I want to find out how hipster someone is for this year is what is your thoughts on Bayshel Bayshel Tootin?
40:14He's going in round five this year is Bayshel Bayshel Tootin.
40:17Where are you at there? Yeah. Uh, it's, it's a guy I loved out of college.
40:22I thought he was a beast at Virginia tech.
40:25Uh, I got to go, uh, sponsor of mine, uh, dream fighters homes is a major sponsor for the Jaguars.
40:31So I got to go to, uh, it was a fall camp last year.
40:35Uh, you know, kind of in the preseason and got to go check out their, their stuff.
40:40And, uh, yeah, he was, he was one of the guys that impressed me there.
40:44Uh, did not end up getting him on any teams last year.
40:48I don't know if I'll get to him this year or not.
40:51I think that's an offense that has a ton of potential.
40:54Uh, as far as like, you know, one of the, one of the things I love targeting is offenses that are probably
41:01going to be good, but are, you know, maybe a little murky because that's where you can get your biggest kind of golden tickets.
41:08Uh, I, I hit in my main league last year, I hit with like a Javante Williams where it's like this offense
41:14should be good, but like, I don't know what the running back backfield is going to look like.
41:20You end up with a guy who's getting what?
41:2270% workload and, uh, touchdown work. So I think Tootin absolutely could fall in that.
41:27Uh, now maybe was it Chris Rodriguez? Maybe he becomes the guy that gets a bunch of touchdowns.
41:32I don't know, but I think Tootin is absolutely in that mold.
41:36I don't know if round five is like, you're starting to like pay up for that potential ticket there.
41:41Uh, I don't know if I'll be getting there or not.
41:44I think I like him. I like the offense, but it's just like, I feel like you're already paying up for some of that.
41:51Um, yeah. Reward. And by the way, that the round five price on Tootin right now is a best ball price.
41:58And obviously people playing best bar are skewing more towards these high ceiling outcome and willing to take more risks because you
42:04know, min cashing in, in best ball isn't that great.
42:07All the money, uh, obviously the top, whereas if you're in a 12 team league, you don't need to be taking risks
42:13to be as many risks to be just 11 other people.
42:17So I could see Tootin's ADP in a home league, you know, being way later.
42:21Yeah. Which wouldn't be more. And I'm typically willing to take on some of that risk in a home league, even if
42:28it's just, you know, even if it's just season long redraft, because I feel like maybe this is a little cocky, but
42:34I feel like I can make up the margins late round or waiver wires.
42:38Like I can make up for it. If I whiff on something, um, you know, I'm willing to take a few risks
42:45just because if something hits, you know, that's, that's such an edge.
42:48Yeah. And I mean, in season long, you know, if it doesn't hit, you can just move on.
42:53It doesn't mean you take a throw there like in best ball, just move on and find someone to trade or waiver wire or whatever.
43:01All right. The word, yeah. The worst thing you can do is just get a guy who's just, you can't drop them, can't do anything.
43:08And you're just sitting there taking eight, six, seven, eight points every week.
43:12Like it's just not going to get you anywhere.
43:15It's awful. Yeah. Okay. As we continue on the hipster scale here, what are your thoughts on a round for Luther burden?
43:21Yeah. Uh, I'm a go hipster in the sense that I was on him too early.
43:26I was all over him last year. I got, I had, I basically, I think I had him literally every league last
43:32year, just waiting on that to hit. And, uh, yeah, now it's like, well, everybody's on him.
43:37So now am I off him? Like, I don't know.
43:40Like I've got them on some dynasty teams. Very excited about that.
43:44Very excited about the bears offense in general. Uh, I'm in a really tough spot in my caddies league.
43:49It's a single keeper league, uh, but we do auction.
43:52And so basically you can always keep somebody as much as you want, but it's always 10 bucks more than what you had them last year.
44:00And I have burden for a dollar and Loveland for $2.
44:03So basically I can keep them for 11 or 12.
44:06Like I'm going to choose the wrong one for sure.
44:09Like there's no way I'll get the right one.
44:12Like whoever I choose, the other guy is going to have the big year.
44:16I don't know. Uh, yeah, my, my take there, my take there would be that, that, uh, an elite tight end season
44:22is scarcer than an elite wide receiver season. So I would probably lean Loveland there, but that's certainly close guy.
44:28Guys don't pay for tight ends in that league though.
44:31You can get tight ends. Stupid. It's, I love, I love Luther Burton as a player.
44:36I watch him play and I just, I feel like I'm watching CD lamb.
44:40Like that's what it looks like to me, uh, what he can do with the ball in his hands.
44:45I think he does have the route running ability to like work the intermediate parts of the field.
44:51I know like a duns day is going to be like the higher a dot guy probably, but if you're, you know,
44:57getting some intermediate work in with like, you know, some three or four screens a game, like kind of like underneath work.
45:04Uh, yeah, I, I think burden absolutely is like, I understand why people are taking them in the fourth because like, look,
45:10you're looking at a guy who could be the alpha in an offense that's ascending.
45:15Yeah. The talents there. It's just like, there's so many other good wide receivers in the fourth.
45:20I don't know. I don't know if I'm there.
45:22Yeah, for sure. I mean, my take generally is just like Ben Johnson handpicked Loveland and then sent out DJ more, you
45:29know, and like that just volumes to me the whole way with their intent.
45:33Okay. I need to get you on the other side on the boomer side.
45:37I need to get you on the record here for the boomers.
45:40Derek Henry in round two, are you in or out on a round Derek Henry this year?
45:45I am a known Derek Henry lover. It's been years of, I just have him all of the time on teams.
45:52It doesn't have, like, I don't know how it happens.
45:55It just finds a way. I basically, my thing with Derek Henry is I pretty much never draft him.
46:00I just end up with him. I let somebody else draft him and the Ravens are always one of the best teams.
46:07So typically the NFL stacks their schedule early. You know, you had bills first week last year.
46:12Now he had a big game, you had the fumble or whatever late, but like, uh, typically Ravens play some stud teams
46:18early because you're getting some hype for the season.
46:21So when the Ravens play stud teams, maybe more shootouts, maybe a tougher game to win might not have as many carries,
46:27whatever, but come December, you're going to want Derek Henry on your team.
46:31So you go ahead and trade for him week four or five, something like that.
46:35And, uh, yeah, I think, I think he's a freak.
46:38Uh, I think, you know, this year I was looking at the schedule.
46:42I don't, I don't think the early games are actually that scary.
46:46So you can go ahead and draft him, but, uh, there comes a point where you don't have Derek Henry on your
46:52team and it's week 16 and it's going to be 15 degrees in Baltimore.
46:56And you're going to see some of the most half-assed tackle attempts from the Browns you've ever seen in your life.
47:02And you're going to be sitting there week 16 in your, in your championship.
47:07Just like, why did I not take this guy?
47:09He's running for 170 yards and like, it's going to happen.
47:12It's going to happen. He gets better as the season goes.
47:16I, I got no problem with it. Like Derek Henry is, he is the exception.
47:20It's really interesting to me because we haven't really changed our stance on Derek Henry.
47:24We were always had him around like 14th or 15th overall.
47:28And that was behind market the last couple years, which has certainly burned us.
47:32But this year, like people don't want to take him.
47:35He's going like 18 or 19. He was like decently good last year, given the fact they won like what?
47:41Eight games. It like worst case scenario for Derek Henry's team is bad.
47:44And like, like Lamar got hurt and they didn't win a ton of games and he still like returned some value.
47:51Like a lot, a lot. It's going to get better this year.
47:54Like as long as Lamar stays healthy, as long as they're winning more games, like that's only better for Derek Henry.
48:00You just want positive game scripts. And he got about as bad as it could have been last year with, uh, not having that.
48:07I know he's gonna be like 40 years old doing this too.
48:11It's like, Oh, I'm always like, well, maybe this is the year that he could be.
48:16Yeah. He could be. Okay. One more boomer boomer take for you.
48:19Uh, round four slash round five Devante Adams obviously had the really high touchdown rate last year.
48:24What do you think about that price on Devante Adams this year?
48:28So again, I, we just talked about, there's a ton of round four wide receivers that I love.
48:33So I don't know how much like I'd be on Adams, but what Stafford had what?
48:3846 touchdowns last year. I think more. Yeah. Something crazy.
48:41I think it was 46, but yeah, you're right.
48:43Yep. You're right. 46. Yep. Let's say he regresses down to 35, you know, better defense this year.
48:49They don't have to throw as much, whatever, uh, with miles Garrett.
48:52So let's say he goes down to 35. Is there any chance barring injury that Devante Adams doesn't get like 10 of those at least probably not?
49:00Like I know they're running more tight end sets and stuff, but like, I feel like Adams is a super safe, like touchdown floor.
49:07Even if he's not catching a crazy amount of balls, he's probably going to get there off a touchdown volume.
49:13Uh, maybe frustrating like week to week because there might be some weeks where they just like dominate and he gets like
49:19four for 40 or something, but like maybe best ball, like, Hey, two touchdowns this week.
49:24Great. Like, you know, best ball. Usually you're thinking like some deep ball guys, like some guys that could hit, but like,
49:31I think Adams is your guy that could catch two touchdowns in a week and just get there.
49:36Like, I don't, I don't think he's going to have like, you know, 1500 yards or anything, but, uh, he's, you know,
49:42he's not going to be asked to do that.
49:45He's going to be the red zone guy. He led the NFL and red zone targets last year.
49:50He probably could do that again, unless maybe Mike Evans does say something crazy in Sam for him, but I, he, he is what he is.
49:58I think you're getting them at good value. Yeah.
50:01One thing about the tight end stuff is, uh, it's actually better for the wide receivers, you know, because instead of competing
50:07with another wide receiver, you're competing for targets with these tight ends that aren't as athletic or as great pass catchers as the wide receivers.
50:14So yeah, I mean, we, we are above market on Devante Adams right now.
50:18Also like can't say I'm like enthralled about it, but we are above market on, on Devante Adams here.
50:24Yeah. I don't, I don't think it's like a sexy pick at all, but like, yeah, if he's catching 10 plus touchdowns,
50:30like he's going to probably return value. Like it's yeah, it seems pretty safe to me, but I think there's a lot
50:37of like high upside dart throws around that part of the draft.
50:40So I get it. What if you're not getting there for sure?
50:44Um, man, we could get you a job at ETR.
50:47We can pay you dozens of dollars. Would you like to, uh, after your golf career, would you like to, uh, come
50:53to ETR as it's out or we can pay you $25 an article.
50:57Perfect. I'm doing my podcast for free right now.
51:00So I love it. Um, any other football takes or, or sleepers or anything else you want to get off your chest
51:06here for the people, uh, before we get too close to training camp?
51:10You know, I haven't gone too deep in it yet.
51:13I, I think sleepers wise, you know, I, it's, it's funny, you know, everybody, this is the time of year where everybody has the same sleepers.
51:21Everybody has the same, like avoids. Like, I feel like we're getting to that group think part of the year.
51:27Like, uh, it just, it's there, you know, like I'm absolutely a Panthers homer.
51:31And so I'm gonna sit here and tell people like, Oh, Jonathan Brooks is probably a good guy to throw something at,
51:37but like, you'd probably go find 20 people saying, Oh, go get Jonathan Brooks.
51:41Like, I feel like it has, there's so many voices in the industry now, and there is a lot of group things.
51:48So I don't think I've really narrowed down on like a guy that is outside of what a lot of people are saying.
51:55But, uh, I am agreeing with a lot of what I've been seeing from, from, you know, people talking about ADP is
52:01converging between Shuba Hubbard and Jonathan Brooks. Now, who do you think should go higher Shuba or Brooks this season?
52:07I think Brooks is clearly the upside play. I don't think Shuba.
52:10So I'm, I'm a Panthers fan. I watch, you know, all the games, like Shuba has caught a lot of balls, but
52:17like, and so people think he's like, can be a pass.
52:20Like he's not a pass catcher. He's got bricks for hand.
52:23He just got peppered because that's kind of what Bryce Young did.
52:27Like if we had any other option to throw out there, uh, to catch some balls, like we would have.
52:33And I think Jonathan Brooks is a capable receiver.
52:35It just has to stay healthy. Uh, based on what I saw in the draft, I think we are going to start
52:42leaning towards more, uh, went out, got like a deep threat wide receiver.
52:46I think, you know, paying Jalen Coker, I think they want to throw the ball a little bit more.
52:51I think that would lean a little bit more towards Jonathan Brooks.
52:55Um, I think we know what we have with Shuba.
52:58Like he's just basically like the average NFL running back that you can kind of just throw out there.
53:03And he probably like, he does a good job of just not getting hurt.
53:07Yeah. That's kind of his thing. He's like, you can just reliably give him the ball 15 times up the middle if you want.
53:15Um, but I think, I think the, I think the volume splits may be similar, but I think Brooks is going to
53:21end up getting the more, um, fantasy relevant touches.
53:24So I would, I would go Brooks just because I don't think the ceiling's very high.
53:28Yeah. I mean, the prospect profile in Brooks certainly looks better from a pass catching perspective on Brooks.
53:34You know, I kind of want to see it on Brooks's health, but by the time you see it, it could be
53:40too late, you know, so you're, you're getting either so late in the draft.
53:44I'd rather just take the higher upside dart throw.
53:47Uh, if you get a zero from either of them, it kind of doesn't really matter.
53:52Like it's, it's, you know, if you're drafting what 10th round or something like ninth or like it's, it's going to be
53:58replaceable come, you know, early weeks of the waiver wire or something.
54:02So yeah, I'd take the higher upside dart throw there with Jonathan Brooks.
54:05All right. That is about all I had here for Andrew.
54:09Tell the people where they can find you. If you want to be found and tell the people where they can find the podcast, uh, one more time.
54:17Yeah. Me personally, I'm socials, Andrew Novak golf. I don't really put football stuff out there.
54:22Uh, if you're looking for that, but, uh, we have screenplay podcast.
54:25Uh, you can get a, you know, find us wherever you find your podcasts.
54:29Uh, we're on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, uh, we'll be starting up recording here, uh, like two, three weeks.
54:34I think August 12th, maybe our first episode. Um, we'll have, you know, we'll have, uh, we'll have a survivor pool and
54:41stuff for, for our listeners and stuff. So we'll have some fun stuff, uh, if y'all want us doing in, um, have
54:47you seen, maybe thought you said you don't talk about football on, on, on, uh, your Twitter.
54:52Have you seen Michael Kim's Twitter? And have you thought about tweeting any like golf stuff?
54:57I, you know, I say that there's been a few times where I've tweeted some stuff and I, maybe, maybe it is something I start doing.
55:05Uh, cause I think to me, it would be more fun to engage with people, uh, on Twitter and about like football stuff than, than golf stuff.
55:13Um, I feel like if I engage golf stuff, then people will come at me with hate.
55:18And so like, if I, if I open it up, then, uh, it may, you know, it may backfire, but I think
55:24the football stuff talking, it could be, could be fun to do.
55:28Uh, I just haven't done it yet. Yeah. But yeah, I find the Michael Kim stuff fascinating just because I'm so, I'm
55:34so fascinated by like, Oh, where's the pin placements today.
55:37And what are these guys thinking about the holes or the weather delay and stuff?
55:41Yeah. He does, he does a very good job with it.
55:45And it's impressive. Like, it's just a lot to do that on top of like all that we're doing at the golf
55:51course, um, to, you know, get back and put that out there.
55:55I mean, he's very consistent with it. And, uh, I think he really does provide like good insight.
56:00I agree with, you know, a lot of the stuff he says.
56:03So, um, I, yeah, I do think he is very good at giving that, you know, kind of behind the scenes look at what we got going.
56:11All right. Well, be sure you're following Andrew Novak on all socials for his football, not his golf takes, be sure to
56:18subscribe to his podcast and yes, get out there and root for him taking the week off of 3M this week.
56:24What'll be your next tournament, Andrew? Yeah. I'm playing the rocket next week in Detroit.
56:28I'll be at, uh, Windham and Greensboro the next week for the final event of the PGA tour regular season.
56:34All right, let's get that putter hot. Really, really, really appreciate the time for Andrew.
56:39Producer Ryan for producer Luke. I am Adam. Good luck.
56:42Everybody.
