Player insights

34

A.J. Brown

NegativeInjury49:29

A.J. Brown's high ankle sprain is a significant concern, as it appears more severe than typical cases that allow for quick returns. There is skepticism regarding his ability to return to his expected form, leading to a recommendation to offload shares of him in fantasy leagues.

Insight page

Antonio Williams

PositiveSleeper26:29

Antonio Williams is a strong wide receiver stash. He is seeing increased playing time, is highly productive in yards per route run (12th among WRs), and is highly regarded by the coaching staff.

Insight page

Bijan Robinson

NegativeProjection42:23

Bijan Robinson is a phenomenal player who will remain a fantasy starter due to his high volume of touches and catches. While his ceiling is currently capped by inconsistent quarterback play, he has historically produced even in poor offensive environments. There is no reason to panic or trade him, as he is expected to stabilize once the Falcons' quarterback situation improves.

Insight page

Bucky Irving

PositiveUsage30:14

Bucky Irving is emerging as a key player, ranking sixth in the NFL in yards after contact. He is seeing significant red-zone usage, including a designed touchdown run, and is expected to win out as the primary back.

Insight page

Chris Olave

PositiveBreakout30:11

Chris Olave is shredding defenses and looks uncoverable; if he stays healthy, he is projected to be a league-winning pick at wide receiver.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

NegativeUsage31:52

Colston Loveland led the team in route participation in Week 1, but his usage dipped in Week 2, potentially due to increased blocking requirements against a blitz-heavy defense.

Insight page

David Montgomery

NegativeUsage20:34

David Montgomery played fewer snaps than Woody Marks in Week 2, even in the first half, and has struggled with efficiency, totaling 26 carries for 70 yards. His fantasy outlook is tied to the team's offensive performance, specifically the presence of Nico Collins.

Insight page

David Njoku

NegativeUsage56:54

Njoku is noted for a critical error where he failed to secure a perfect pass from Herbert, instead tipping it into the air for an interception, which contributed to the team's offensive struggles.

Insight page

De'Von Achane

NegativeUsage28:29

Devon Achane's usage is a major concern; despite being the best running back on the team, he is splitting work with Alvin Kamara and saw only two touches compared to Kamara's ten in the recent game.

Insight page
NegativeProjection37:06

Devon Achane is expected to remain a viable fantasy asset despite a slow start and concerns about the Dolphins' offense. While he is currently not a top-12 running back, he maintains a high expected fantasy points (XFP) role, ranking 12th on the year. The thesis remains that his elite talent and projected 300+ touches will provide value over the full season, even if efficiency is hampered by poor team performance.

Insight page
PositiveBust37:25

George Pickens remains skeptical of Devon Achane, noting that his yards per carry have declined significantly (3.3 to 3.7) and his target volume has been inconsistent. He is viewed as a 'dead zone' back with limited safety.

Insight page

Denzel Boston

PositiveBreakout52:12

Denzel Boston is a buy candidate who has demonstrated excellent timing and rapport with Deshaun Watson on third downs. He has shown the ability to win on various route types, including back-shoulders, fades, and deep in-cuts. Despite some fluky production, his role in Todd Monken's offense makes him a player of high interest.

Insight page

Drake Maye

PositiveProjection46:58

Drake Maye is showing promise on tape despite the Patriots' offensive line struggles and lack of elite playmakers. While he is not currently a recommended start due to difficult upcoming matchups and a lack of rushing production, his processing and pocket presence are encouraging. He is a player to monitor, especially if the team's offensive efficiency improves.

Insight page

George Pickens

PositiveUsage0:57

George Pickens' target per route run rate is actually higher than it was last year, which is a positive indicator for his usage.

Insight page
PositiveProjection36:47

George Pickens remains a top-15 wide receiver candidate. George Pickens believes in his upside due to the team's high-octane passing offense and Dak Prescott's ability to process defenses and find open receivers when coverage shifts to CeeDee Lamb.

Insight page
PositiveRole37:11

George Pickens remains a strong fantasy asset with a 21% target share and an increased target-per-route-run rate. Despite the Steelers' offense currently ranking among the lowest in total plays, the team leads the NFL in pass rate over expectation and plays at a fast pace, suggesting the current low volume is a result of game script rather than scheme. Pickens is capable of succeeding even on go routes, which have comprised 34.4% of his routes so far.

Insight page

Jadarian Price

NegativeRole23:24

Jadarian Price's fantasy outlook is becoming 'scary' as his role appears clearly defined and limited. With Zach Charbonnet returning, Price's path to meaningful touches is narrow, making him a difficult start.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

PositiveBreakout22:44

Despite limited usage, there is optimism that Jeremiah Love could emerge as a 'hot hand' in the backfield. He is viewed as a more explosive player than Tyler Allgeier, though he currently lacks the route-running and pass-blocking trust from coaches.

Insight page

Jonathan Taylor

NegativeUsage2:33

Jonathan Taylor is averaging 28 points per game and is heavily utilized in the red zone, as the Colts have run the ball on five of their six plays from the five-yard line or closer.

Insight page

Josh Downs

PositiveUsage3:42

Josh Downs is viewed as the best wide receiver on the Colts/Chiefs teams rest of season; he consistently gets open and earned nine targets on 31 pass attempts, showing a terrific target share.

Insight page

Justin Herbert

NegativeUsage57:39

Herbert is struggling with an offensive line that cannot block, leading to a 'panic mode' where he is missing reads and looking uncomfortable in the pocket. Despite being accurate for most of the game, he has been plagued by drops from receivers and poor offensive design that forces long-developing play-action passes behind a weak interior line.

Insight page

Keenan Allen

NegativeUsage25:58

Keenan Allen saw minimal playing time in Week 2 despite an injury to Alec Pierce, suggesting he may no longer be a primary contributor. If he cannot command targets, Josh Downs is expected to become the primary productive receiver.

Insight page

Kenneth Walker III

PositiveProjection2:31

Kenneth Walker is considered the best running back rest of season between the Chiefs and Colts; he is in the mix for RB1 overall if he stays healthy, functioning like a Jonathan Taylor on a better team with more targets (16 targets vs. Taylor's 8).

Insight page

Ladd McConkey

PositiveRole59:57

McConkey is considered a very good player by the analysts, though there are concerns regarding his health and usage, specifically his route participation and the team's apparent effort to protect him when he runs routes over the middle.

Insight page

Mike Evans

NegativeInjury25:46

Mike Evans has a hip injury that is not expected to be serious, but his upcoming schedule against Denver and Seattle makes him a questionable start in weeks four and five.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveUsage28:50

Parker Washington has been highly efficient, averaging nearly four yards per route run over his last six games. He has been consistent, scoring at least 15 points per game in that span, though his usage fluctuated in Week 2.

Insight page

Quentin Johnston

NegativeBust61:56

Johnston is playing without confidence, and his concentration drops have returned for the second consecutive week. This regression is a major concern, as it mirrors the unconfident play seen during his rookie season.

Insight page

Quinshon Judkins

NegativeUsage32:54

Quinshon Judkins has seen increased involvement in the passing game, running more than 40% of routes in four straight games. While his overall fantasy production is depressed, these usage trends are a positive sign.

Insight page

Rashee Rice

PositiveUsage15:13

Rashee Rice is not a must-start player; his target per route run rate has dropped significantly from 30% to 11%, and his average route depth remains low, limiting his fantasy ceiling.

Insight page

Travis Etienne

NegativeValue19:06

The analysts are down on Travis Etienne, moving him behind players like Bucky Irving and David Montgomery. There is skepticism regarding his touchdown upside compared to Montgomery, and concerns that his receiving work will decrease with Kamara back in the mix.

Insight page

Travis Kelce

PositiveProjection6:47

Travis Kelce is still the preferred tight end option rest of season, looking like the best player on the Chiefs offense and receiving more first-read targets.

Insight page

Tyler Allgeier

NegativeRole22:41

Tyler Allgeier continues to see significant route participation (18 routes in Week 2) and carries, likely due to his superior understanding of the playbook and pass-blocking reliability compared to younger backs like Jeremiah Love.

Insight page

Tyler Warren

NegativeUsage8:44

Tyler Warren is being used in a gimmicky role with a very low 0.83 aDOT, primarily catching screens and design reads rather than intermediate routes; however, he is heavily involved in the red zone with three of the Colts' seven red zone targets.

Insight page

Xavier Worthy

PositiveUsage18:22

Xavier Worthy is worth holding onto as he is being used as a short-area target and a 'better version of Rashee Rice' in the current Chiefs offense.

0:00This is Fantasy Football Today from CBS Sports. What a play!
0:03Can you believe this? He had no idea. It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
0:07Off to the races, and he stays on his feet!
0:10He's just gonna go the distance! Now here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie and Heath.
0:14What is wrong with the Chargers and Bears offense?
0:17Is Colston Loveland a bust? Is Devon Achan a...
0:19Wait, is...are we just replaying last week's episode? Yeah.
0:22Yeah, not much has changed, huh? And the Chiefs won a primetime game, 33-30.
0:26We'll recap the Chiefs-Colts game, which was a super exciting game.
0:29We've got, I think, you know, it was a pretty bad Sunday for injuries, but hopefully the Monday won't be as bad.
0:35Caleb Williams doesn't seem like a bad injury. It's not a season...
0:38We don't know. Well, that's what they said. This is like a half hour ago.
0:42He escaped a major injury. Mm-hmm. Uh, Jaden Daniels doesn't seem like it's season ending.
0:47We'll see how long he's out. A lot of running back injuries.
0:50We don't have updates there. But today, okay, recap Sunday Night Football.
0:53Yes, we'll talk about the Bears. Yes, we'll talk about the Chargers.
0:57Yes, we'll talk about Achan. And also, George Pickens.
0:59What's going on with George Pickens? His target per outrun rate actually higher than it was last year.
1:04So that is good. The Patriots offense. Bleh. And the rookies.
1:07What are we doing about some of these rookies?
1:10Casey Concepcion, Denzel Boston, Carnell Tate, Jeremiah Love, Jonah Coleman.
1:12You heard Dan. Now here's Jacob. What's up, Jacob?
1:15Hey, hey. Chiefs 2-0. Giants hopefully 2-0 as well.
1:17Soon. Wow. That's right. And I just wonder... You imagine.
1:20Yeah, when's the next time the Chiefs are primetime?
1:23They just don't get enough primetime. Let's see what's going to be.
1:26Week 7. We have three straight weeks of Falcons primetime somehow.
1:29Yeah. Who the heck scheduled that out? Really? Yeah.
1:31Oh, boy. We're stuck with three straight weeks of Falcons primetime.
1:34It's crazy. All right, let's talk about last night's primetime game.
1:38Kansas City 33, Indianapolis 30. I've got a couple...
1:40I've got some easy questions and some hard questions for this game.
1:43Who is the best, just for these two teams, best quarterback rest of season?
1:47Patrick Mahomes. Okay, that was easy. Best running back rest of season?
1:51Kenneth Walker. It's definitely Kenneth Walker. Definitely Kenneth Walker.
1:53Jonathan Taylor is averaging like 28 points per game or something.
1:56I mean, he has been. That offense has been better, especially first, you know, early game script.
2:01But you've got to take Walker right now. If Walker stays healthy, he's like essentially in the mix for RB1 overall.
2:07He's like Jonathan Taylor if he played for a better team and he had him in targets.
2:11And got the targets, yeah. He has three more points than Jonathan Taylor.
2:15Taylor actually has eight targets. Kenneth Walker does have 16 though.
2:18All right, who's the best wide receiver on this team rest of season?
2:22Josh Downs. On all teams? Both teams. Both teams.
2:24I'm going to go over to Rasheed Rice. I was a little bit more enthused than Jacob was with Rice last night.
2:30A little bit. It took one Josh Downs game for me to become completely emboldened again.
2:35He's the best. Well, Pierce is also injured. That's the other thing.
2:38Yeah, Pierce injured and Josh Downs. If you've heard us say on the show, we watch the Josh Downs tape.
2:43This guy gets open all the time. He destroys defensive backs.
2:47I think you saw it. Like if you haven't actually seen it, saw it last night.
2:51It's what he does for a living. I felt so bad for Ligerious Snead.
2:55He's just not ready for that kind of juice at the point in his career.
2:59Also, Downs was really close to scoring on one of those quick hitters that Jones hit him on.
3:04It was just too far behind him. I just don't think he's going to score that much and I don't think he's
3:10going to make a lot of big plays. And also Alec Pierce like that was a big deal.
3:15Alec Pierce going out. Yeah, so huge target. Well, big good target volume for Josh Downs.
3:19Nine targets on 31 pass attempts. That's a terrific target share.
3:23But also this team basically never passes near the end zone.
3:26They just hand it to Jonathan Taylor all the time.
3:28They've run six plays from the five yard line or closer and five of them have been runs.
3:33Last year they had the third lowest pass rate inside the five yard line.
3:37Okay, anyway, so would work in your favor of the Taylor over Walker arguments.
3:41I do think the a the Colts are more committed to the run and run in spots.
3:46They should run more than the Chiefs do at times last night.
3:49I was like why are the Chiefs throwing every single first and second down but B it's the red zone work.
3:55I think it's a good point. I didn't say Taylor over Walker.
3:58I know but you said it's not a given it's not.
4:01I mean these are obviously two first round RB ones.
4:04Okay, and then who's the best tight end on these teams?
4:07Ha ha He's back baby. Travis. I'll never go away.
4:10Kelsey. I'm so mad. I didn't just buy him again in fantasy.
4:13You got him for free. He's on waiver wire some some leagues before week one.
4:17I mean he's just gonna do it every single year.
4:20And yeah, it's not gonna be what it was at one point, but it's still better than night.
4:25Like you're starting him every week like you have you Kyle Pitts or Travis Kelsey who are you starting?
4:30Well, I mean who's quarterback it is gonna be Kelsey, but I mean it's it's Kelsey, but I'm not judging Kelsey even when Penix comes back.
4:38Okay, I'm not judging pits on what's happened so far, but it's it's Kelsey.
4:41I guess it Kelsey or Fannin. Kelsey Kelsey So then we're just talking about all the mid Kelsey or Kraft at this point.
4:48Kraft I don't know. I'll take Kraft. I don't know.
4:51Kelsey or Loveland. No, he won't go there just yet.
4:53Kelsey was a top five tight end with Patrick Mahomes last year, right?
4:57It's not crazy and and Rasheed Rice is not getting near the target volume he used to and no one's emerging here.
5:03So it's not it's not crazy. I don't think I can ever take a tight end early again.
5:08This happens every single year. We do this every year.
5:11Well, McBride Kelsey years McBride is is one of the best players in fantasy right now.
5:15It's like this is just like a huge miss for me on McBride.
5:19Yeah, we'll see about Bowers, but yeah, I mean Kelsey.
5:22So would you take Kelsey over Warren? Yes, personally.
5:24I don't think so. Ward weird start for Tyler Warren.
5:27He has a point eight three yard a dot so far.
5:30He's doing nothing downfield. He's getting a lot of screens, a lot of design reads.
5:34Obviously, it was what they do. He has three of the Colts seven red zone targets.
5:39Tyler Warren. We're talking about he is two of their three green zone targets.
5:42He has their only end zone target so far.
5:45They've all yeah, they play Jesse mentor and spags to like I played tough matchups for sure and things will get better.
5:51But man, that's that line looks gross. Six receptions for 21 yards.
5:54I think in more neutral spots, you'll be able to see Warren get more stuff going and then be able to take
6:00some more shots on the field right now. It's been it just feels like they're trying to get it out quick, which is no surprise.
6:07This guy does he he does. You know, we talked off the air about Rishi Rice, his inability to get open like Tyler Warren is not getting open.
6:15They everything they don't even try to get him.
6:18It feels to me like I never see him run an intermediate in break or a scene like it just.
6:23It's all gimmicky stuff with him. It's a lot of it.
6:26It's like he's blocking and then he comes off the block open at the line of scrimmage.
6:31Now, it wasn't necessarily like that last year. No one's no one has an eight out under one yard.
6:36Right. Right. Wild. And his touchdown was an amazing route.
6:39Let's just be like that was a great release off the line of scrimmage.
6:43Like he has the capability to do it. Will the Colts use him in that way?
6:47I guess the question. I don't even know what to say about tight end right now.
6:52If you're going to rank your top five tight ends rest of season, you know, McBride's one, then we're still to Kincaid Kincaid.
6:58Jacob's Jacob. I would take Kincaid over Bowers, right?
7:01Wow. How? I was just worried about the Bowers post injury not being good thing.
7:05Yes. Yeah. Unfortunately, we have to worry about that again.
7:07It's unbelievable. Two years running with this. Yeah, it's annoying.
7:10And then, you know, and DJ Moore being injured right now.
7:13Hopefully not too long, but that would only. Laporte is in the mix.
7:17I see that in the comments. Laporte is definitely in the mix.
7:20I think Kraft's going to be in the mix.
7:23Eh. Eh. Really? I think Kittle like George Kittle at 80 yards and a touchdown yesterday and he's only running for half the routes still.
7:30Something looks nasty wrong with that Packers offense to me.
7:32Oh, I think I think the rain. I think the conditions are a factor yesterday.
7:37Like they played. I'm a big I'm a big weather guy, so I'll give you that.
7:41They played the Vikings in week one and did pretty well considering it was the Vikings like they they threw two touchdowns
7:47against a team that allowed one in their previous eight games.
7:50And then the weather. I mean, I watched it.
7:53I just watched it this morning. Like there were some drops.
7:56I actually think their inability to run the ball is hurting their passing game, too.
8:00Yeah, that's a good point. And I totally agree with that.
8:03Jacobs could be back in like a month. Maybe that's just kind of the somebody in the chat mentioned Kittle.
8:08I just said, yeah, I mean he had a huge game and I don't know that he's going to be a top
8:15five tight end like that's not a lot of targets so far for Kittle, but sure it's up for grabs.
8:20Yes, it's up for grabs. It's like that. That offense is I think I saw it again like number one yet again
8:26in EPA per drop back pretty had two incompletions.
8:29One was a drop. The other was just like the end of the game just like throwing out a bouncer like spiking it or something.
8:36They just are unreal. Like even if Kittle doesn't get volume, he's going to get such a boost from the efficiency of that offense.
8:42And I don't know. I was saying in the chat tight ends going to be that bad.
8:47I don't know. It doesn't sound bad to me.
8:49It sounds bad if you drafted Pitt so far and Harold Fannin who was okay yesterday, but actually sounds okay.
8:55I mean love. Okay. Loveland is, but it's not so bad.
8:58All right. Because you got you got Hunter Henry now who's running all the routes and had a good target share.
9:04They only threw 22 passes yesterday. You got Schultz who can factor in.
9:07It's not so right. All right. Any any thought?
9:10Let's talk about where she rice and Patrick Mahomes here.
9:13Uh, Jacob and I not so encouraged by rice.
9:15I guess I felt like he looked better than he did in week one, but still not that good.
9:20Dan, you're okay with it. Remember he had 83 yards, but 31 of them came on the last play of regulation.
9:26So really padded his stats. Right. Um, what do you think about rice and Mahomes Dan?
9:31I don't, I'm not more like enthusiastic about rice from a fantasy standpoint, I guess I'm more enthusiastic and somewhat.
9:36I am a more enthusiastic. Just, I thought he looked a little bit better moving without the football last night than he had in week one.
9:43And what we saw in the preseason, as far as the other side of that goes, that was what I texted Jacob.
9:50That was the first time the chiefs offense looks like that looked like the chiefs offense to me in like dozens of games at this point.
9:57That was the best I've seen Patrick Mahomes look in a long, long time.
10:01His deep ball accuracy, which has been a big problem for him these last years, both charting into the eye test was back last night.
10:08The timing was great. The anticipation, he threw the ball into space, letting his receivers run under it, under pressure, under duress.
10:14He manipulated the pocket really well. I felt like in week one, he looked kind of not all their movement wise.
10:19And then it almost looked like one week later, he was back to his old self from a movement standpoint, both in
10:26the pocket than out of the pocket. So I was really enthusiastic.
10:29The whole idea here is like you add Ken Walker to the offense and hopefully the passing game gets easier because teams
10:35are gonna have to allocate more recess sources to Walker.
10:38That's what it started to look like last night.
10:40I will note this. I think this Colts defense is a near lock to be a bottom 10 defense and most likely
10:46headed toward bottom five over the course of the season.
10:49So it's important to note that was a good matchup.
10:52And they, and Charverius, Charverius Ward was hurt, I believe for the Colts.
10:55So one of their top corners, double check on that, but yeah, I mean, and I think, you know, worthy 73% rostered.
11:02He had the touchdown. He also had two drops in this game.
11:05And if he caught those balls, he has a pretty good game, right?
11:09You know, do you think we should, okay, Jacob, two quick questions.
11:12Do you think Xavier worthy is worth hanging on to 73% rostered?
11:15No, no, I do. I do too, Adam, because I think they're using him like a better version of Rasheed Rice right now.
11:22Like he gets smacked three times per game where I'm like, Oh, he's done.
11:25I don't think that that's going to last. All right.
11:28But he's like actually got some juice and he's a short area target guy now.
11:32And do you think Rasheed Rice is a must start player?
11:35No. Okay. I think those guys could score points if the chiefs play well.
11:39And I think the Kenneth Walker thing is real.
11:42Teams are definitely reacting to that. They're getting way more stack boxes.
11:45The play action stuff is open. They were using him as a decoy at the goal line last night.
11:50They got passing touchdowns as a result. I don't think either of those guys are very good.
11:55So I don't really want to go there. Um, it seems like, I mean, like if we're just I test Kelsey looks
12:01like the best player and he's also getting more first three targets.
12:04He looks so good. Yeah. I think I trust Kelsey.
12:07I trust, um, Walker and everyone else in the offenses.
12:10Maybe they'll have random weeks, but I think Jalen Royals is fine and they, they're getting him in more and more and they really like Cyrus Allen too.
12:18So it's like at any point, if those other guys falter, which we've seen them falter every single year of their career,
12:24whether it's injury off field stuff or on field stuff, I think the other guys are fine and can step up and the office will stay, stay rolling.
12:32Well, you, would you drop Xavier worthy for Denzel Boston?
12:34No, probably not. I mean, if you want to just like try to trade Boston high or something, but it seems like
12:40sustainability for the downfield passing game with Cleveland is so, so unlikely.
12:44Boston had a huge yak play on some pretty shoddy tackling.
12:47Yeah. Boston's a good player, but I really do think it's very, if you look at the top 20 scores or receiver,
12:53his is probably the fluiest at this point. Okay.
12:55More on him a little bit later. And by the way, we talked about who could be a top five tight end.
13:02We didn't even mention Isaiah likely. Yeah, sure. True about him.
13:05All right. That's it for Kansas city 33 Indianapolis 30 Dan.
13:08Uh, you know what, Jacob, I think I can do it quicker.
13:11Jacob, what's a beyond the box score looking like this week?
13:14Uh, just on our usual schedule. So Dan and I on Tuesdays, um, do the waiver wire and talk through our film
13:20thoughts, um, digging into all these games. So there's, you know, you want to know it's basically what we're doing today, but
13:26we have a lot more time to get into that.
13:29Um, get into all the film on that today's show.
13:32We just have like one or two games we've gotten to.
13:35And then I think the other thing I would point you to is that Wednesdays I do these usage shows where I do rest of season rankings.
13:42And I really dig into the nitty gritty of these roles for the players.
13:46So like, why have things changed for Rishi rice?
13:49Why has he gone from like a 30% target per route run player to an 11% target per route run player?
13:54Um, you can find all that stuff for running backs, receivers, tight ends, all that on Wednesdays.
13:59And once again, for Rishi rice, his average route depth was more than eight yards and he's never had a game in
14:05his career with an average route depth more than seven yards and, and had more than six targets in any of those games.
14:12Most of them were early in his career, but now we have two to start the year.
14:16Okay. Uh, we're going to take a break and we've got news and notes and not a lot of them.
14:22Caleb Williams update that we just saw, and then we'll get into the rest of the show.

15:02Prices may vary and are higher in Alaska, Hawaii, California, many areas in New York, Oregon, Washington, and third party online sites taxes and fees may apply.
15:10So Jane Daniels dislocated elbow. His coach Dan Quinn says he expects him to return this season.
15:15Ben Johnson just said that Kayla Williams is week to week with a hamstring injury, and we'll see who starts at quarterback for the Falcons this week.
15:22No updates. I haven't seen anything on Jadarian price other than x-rays were negative.
15:26Haven't seen anything on Saquon Barkley. He was luckily able to come in back in the game, but he barely played JK Dobbins hamstring injury.
15:33RJ Harvey, I think also a hamstring maybe a groin for Harvey.
15:36He missed the game. So Jonah Coleman is going to be popular this week.
15:40Rico Dowdle left with a toe injury and that's that.
15:43DeMarcus Robinson has a high ankle sprain. Mike Evans has a hip injury.
15:46It is not expected to be serious. I hope they get him back this week against Arizona.
15:51And I'll tell you why because I don't know that I'm going to start him the following two weeks against Denver and at Seattle.
15:58So Mike Evans, I'd love to be able to start him in week three, weeks four and five could be questionable.
16:04Jaden Reed left in the first quarter has extremities as as feeling in all visits.
16:08He's always his extremities and he is feeling in them.
16:10So that's good for Jaden Reed. Sometimes those scary injuries.
16:13They're not long term. And Alec Pierce has the injured heel and x-rays were negative.
16:17Dallas Goddard is going to have an MRI on his knee.
16:20Eli Raritan left for New England. David Njoku. I actually haven't seen an update on David Njoku.
16:25He was carted off. Let me see if we have anything here.
16:29Did Kolar get hurt too? Yeah, Charlie. Yeah, at the end of the game.
16:32It's a knee injury for Njoku. Don't know about Kohler.
16:35Yes, definitely. A Ronday Gadsden is going to be discussed on the waiver wire show tomorrow.
16:40Kohler had his arm in a sling after the game.
16:42And Charverius Ward, yes, did leave with a groin injury for the Colts.
16:46Two starting or two cornerbacks, I believe starters, but two cornerbacks for the Cardinals left with injuries.
16:51They face San Francisco this week. I want Mike Evans back.
16:54Those injuries not expected to be serious. They both might be able to come back.
16:58Will Johnson and Max Melton. I'll just leave it at that.
17:01Let's get into more fun stuff here. Snap counts, trends, whatever.
17:04This is where you guys just have the floor.
17:06I'll start it with the Saints and Travis Achan.
17:0954% of the snaps. Alvin Kamara, 29% of the snaps.
17:12Travis Achan ran 13 routes. Kamara ran eight. Kamara did not run a snap or did not play a snap on third down.
17:18CJ Donaldson was still their third down back. It was like the second half was more encouraging, I guess, for Travis Achan.
17:24And he worked at the goal line. He got the two point conversion.
17:28Uh, but he's obviously been a major concern for fantasy managers.
17:31Dan, where are we on the Saints here? I'm going to defer to Jacob on this one because I studied about five
17:37games for the show and the Saints was not one of them.
17:40Saints look awesome. Tyler Shuck keeps stepping up in clutch moments.
17:43Um, they dropped back a ton. Uh, the Travis Achan stuff is definitely concerning.
17:47He was already splitting work in week one and then Kamara's got a clear role.
17:51Um, John Johnson's role skilled back a little bit, but still made some big plays.
17:55He's really good. Devon Vela is playing really, really well.
17:58And then they've got this rookie Bryce Lance. Who's like a competent field stretcher.
18:02It feels like he's actually been able to step in and play right away, which is really, really impressive.
18:07Um, and that allows them to move the other guys around more.
18:11And so Chris Alave right now is just shredding, just uncoverable.
18:14Um, only Jackson Smith and Jacob has more yards than Alave.
18:17He looks like as long as he stays healthy, he's going to be a league winning pick at wide receiver this year.
18:23Back to back years of that too. Yeah. But for a Chan, I don't really even know.
18:28Like I'm not selling low. I don't think I want it.
18:31I just think that it's so obviously, I don't understand.
18:33You give the guy like $12 million a year and you give Camara 10 touches.
18:38Like Camara had 10 touches while a Chan had two.
18:40It doesn't make any sense. Camara doesn't do anything with the touches.
18:44There's no doubt in my mind that Travis a Chan is the best running back on the team.
18:49I think we all know that Kendrick Miller was a big factor last week.
18:53I don't know. I think he was inactive this week.
18:55Um, or he didn't have any touches. And it, I feel like things will get better for him.
19:00I'm, however, I'm not confident enough to say by low on him.
19:04I wouldn't buy low on him. Me either. I moved him behind Bachel Tootin before last week.
19:08I've got him behind like David Montgomery and players like that that I think have similar sorts of roles.
19:14I'm curious. Does that seem about right to you?
19:16Who's that Tootin? Etienne like behind those guys. Behind Tootin for sure for me.
19:20I definitely have mine Tootin. Who was the other back you had?
19:23Montgomery. I definitely have him behind Montgomery. I wouldn't definitely have him behind Montgomery.
19:27I mean, I think I see them similarly. Yeah.
19:30I don't. I think Montgomery has a much better chance of scoring touchdowns than Etienne does.
19:34That I disagree with. Cause I think so far Etienne, Travis Achan has been the goal line back.
19:39Oh, Achan. I'm sorry. Yeah. That's all right. He's been the goal line back for the most part for a team that we are buying their offense.
19:47We think they're going to score a lot. Did he have a touchdown call back in this game by the way?
19:52Yeah, he did. Okay. And he had a touchdown last week.
19:55So I'm not sure about it. He had nine targets in the first game, just three in this game.
20:01I think that trend will continue to come down with Kamara back.
20:04And just that offense. Yeah. So don't see the receiving work.
20:07I guess first Montgomery, it's like if Nico is out for a lot of the season, then I'm way further down on Montgomery.
20:13I think that's that whole offense looks night and day with Nico on the field versus with him not on the field.
20:20So maybe I feel a little bit more comfortable with Achan in that sense.
20:23I just, I don't know where the points are coming from.
20:26I think it's, I think he's going to have to get a bigger role.
20:30And I've just, I think he could. And speaking of Montgomery played fewer snaps and Woody marks yesterday.
20:35And it wasn't just because they were chasing points.
20:38The first half, he played fewer snaps than Woody marks.
20:41Uh, so he's, he's been terrible running the football so far.
20:44He has 26 carries for 70 yards, right? They can't block potentially tough matchups.
20:48I mean, I think Cincinnati is a good run events.
20:50I don't know about Buffalo. All right. Look, at least that's the range.
20:54Like if we're drafting Travis Achan today, he's probably like a fifth round pick.
20:58It's maybe six round picks, something like that. Uh, I think I would just take, uh, I think I'd take him over the Patriots running backs though.
21:05Uh, that's interesting. I thought Travion looked pretty good yesterday.
21:08Yeah. Just the idea of Travion to me is probably worth it if I'm taking, I mean, if you're talking about a
21:14six round pick, you're hoping that that's like your RB three, right?
21:17Like an upside pick. Like to me, I don't really understand what the point of Achan is for fantasy.
21:23That sounds weird, but like, what is he? You plug him in and the semblance of safety is an RB two, but is there safety?
21:30Cause he can have games where it has like 10 touches or whatever.
21:33Like I don't. He feels very dead zone back to me.
21:36Uh, but then, then again, like he is safer than Henderson who could have any week where he fumbles and they take
21:42him out of the game plan or whatever it may be.
21:45But Henderson can also just on one touch, get you nine points, which I guess Achan can do that.
21:51Uh, he did it with the Jaguars. It's a different scheme.
21:54Liam Cohen's gone. And I haven't, you know, at that run scheme has been pretty bad throughout Kellen Moore's career run.
22:00One, the run game has not been a, a, a good aspect of Kellen Moore's scheme at any point.
22:05If his role stays like this, that then yes, Travis Achan is going to be disappointing.
22:09I guess I'm just saying that I, it's only week two.
22:12I feel like he, he could gain, I don't know why he would, why wouldn't they do it originally?
22:18But I feel like he'd get more of a role.
22:20Like we, we think Jeremiah loves going to have a bigger role as the season goes on.
22:25I get like Achan's different. Achan should have it right now.
22:28Travis love will have to kind of grow into it.
22:31Um, yeah, but, uh, all right. I said my piece.
22:34Uh, what else? Uh, Jacob, what do you want to discuss here?
22:37Well, speaking of Jeremiah love here in eight routes to 18 for Tyler Algier in week two.
22:42That's fun. Painful. I don't know. Like if anything, I would expect him to get that, like get him out in space,
22:48but why do you draft Jeremiah love? You're not going to utilize his route running.
22:52I don't know. However, only five carries for Algier.
22:54Algier had 17 in week one and love had nine carries.
22:57So nice. Yeah. I mean, I didn't think he was a terrible start this week against the Seahawks, but yeah, I mean,
23:04when you look at both of those guys, Jadarian Price and Jeremiah love Jacob, do you have hope that things are going to change for them?
23:11Uh, yeah, love. I think so. I think there's a decent chance that he becomes a hot hand that we've heard, um, Michael floor talk about, right?
23:18And he gets the Steph Curry treatment or whatever.
23:21At some point this year is what you're hoping for that.
23:24He's just really good. And that that shines through, um, Jadarian price looks really good, but I think his role is kind
23:30of clearly defined and they've got somebody coming back.
23:32Who's actually really good at all the other stuff.
23:35So like right now they're already giving all of the goal line stuff, the pass blocking stuff, all that is going to like role players.
23:42Zach Sharbin is actually a boss at that. Like, and I think he's just going to get that.
23:47And he might, if he plays well, even take some of the early down stuff too.
23:51Um, so yeah, I think you're talking price. You're looking at basically what Kenneth Walker had last year in terms of a role.
23:58Yeah. Yeah. Which was about RB 28. Yeah. If he runs hot with long plays and touchdowns, then he can be useful,
24:04but that's going to be hard to predict. Yeah.
24:06I watched the tape of, of all those running backs, you know, man, Emmanuel Wilson to his credit had a nice game,
24:12but I just don't see how you could watch Jadarian price versus Emmanuel Wilson and Jeremiah love versus Tyler Algier and not
24:18be so frustrated as a fantasy manager. Now I think we knew this was a possibility.
24:23So we were okay. Like, especially with price and with love early in the season, you're hoping that love gets more and more work.
24:29And he did get more carries than Algier this week, but it's just not even close.
24:34Like, like Jordan or Jeremiah love explodes when he touches the ball.
24:37Tyler Algier just doesn't have, he's not that kind of player.
24:40Yeah. It's stupid to me. It's malpractice for these coaches to, to not be using price and love more.
24:46I think they'd probably tell you. Cause I mean, that's how it appears to us, but I think they'd probably tell you, cause this happens every year, right?
24:53This is not, we're not, we're not going over something that's new to us.
24:57Like how could this coach thing they'll probably tell us these guys understand the playbook better.
25:02They're going to help us more in past production.
25:04They're going to be well, more aware of where to be within the route.
25:08Like for the timing standpoint of the quarterback, like quarterback needs to know where this running back is going to be on that route.
25:15And I guess Algier, if he's running 18 to loves eight has a better feel right now for that.
25:20I don't know. That's what they're telling us at least.
25:23Um, but that will change. Love. I will see, will change the, the price thing is getting scary because when Charbonnet is
25:29back, I don't like, I don't know what you're hoping for.
25:32If you start price. I think Emmanuel Wilson was so bad and short yardage yesterday that they were, they were going to give Jadarian price.
25:39Like he got a second and goal carry and he got stuffed.
25:42Right. I thought maybe he was going to start getting some of that.
25:46Um, he got hurt and we never really saw it play out.
25:49All right. Uh, anything else, Jacob? I'm sure there's plenty.
25:52Yeah, for sure. So, um, just with the Colts, I think it's interesting that Keenan Allen barely played yesterday, even with the
25:58injury to Alec Pierce, it was look on look, one Treadwell who played more.
26:02Josh Jones at a 91% snap rate getting out of 51% snap rate, 61% route rate at five targets, had one catch for five yards.
26:09So if he's not at the point where he can be a meaningful contributor anymore and like really take away targets as
26:15a 34 year old, then I do think downs is probably just going to run away with it here.
26:20Um, as long as he stays healthy and be somebody who's pretty dang productive for, for PPR purposes, at least.
26:26Um, another interesting player to me, who's getting more and more playing time.
26:29It seems like maybe a young guy winning out.
26:32We'll see here, um, is Antonio Williams in Washington, um, had the same number of routes as Stefan digs.
26:37I checked if it was like a blowout related thing, maybe a little bit, but it was similar in the first half
26:43where he was playing almost as much as digs.
26:45Um, right now they're using Diami Brown is like the field stretching player.
26:49I think they could move Terry McLaurin more and more into that role and play all three of them or at the
26:55very least just get Williams out there more. Um, the reason I bring this up is cause he's been really productive.
27:01He's yet to not catch a target. Um, he's 12th at wide receiver and yards per outrun so far.
27:06This is a guy that they freaking ranted and raved about after they drafted him in round three.
27:11They seem to really, really like him. They think he could play inside or outside playing two receiver sets.
27:17Um, can wonder the ball in his hands and obviously he's a route winner too.
27:21So he's a really, I think a really good stash at wide receiver.
27:24My favorite stash is freaking image Johnson, man. 71% avoided tackle rate on the year.
27:28He's so fucking good. Kenneth Walker has the highest rate out of qualified players at 47%.
27:33Emmitt Johnson's is 71%. Now you could see why I had this whole thing with Heath Adam over the dynasty league when
27:39I was supposed to be able to draft Emmitt Johnson and I couldn't because of the roster thing.
27:44I wanted Emmitt Johnson. I knew how good he was in round two.
27:48Um, and I wanted that my RB two in the class.
27:51He's so good. He should be rostered in every league.
27:53We mean Jacob talk about this every day of every week, but there's in my mind, no better handcuff to have in fantasy football.
28:00He's the best. He's the best on a good offense.
28:03He's actually really good at football and Walker has a, his no history of being a workhorse.
28:07Some more meaningful players, Christian McCaffrey, 80% snap rate, eight out of 10 running back touches in the first half of this game.
28:14It was a blowout win. So it looked like the same usage as week one.
28:18Um, they were given Jordan James the ball in the fourth quarter up by 30.
28:22It's not, it wasn't the same. I'm sorry. McCaffrey McCaffrey.
28:25Yeah. I guess the only hesitation I have is that Kalon black was came into the game with an injury.
28:30He was questionable all week. So I like, I was also happy about it.
28:34Encouraged. I know the yards per carry weren't great, but I mean, he's working at the goal line.
28:39It was great stuff, but yeah, I just want to see what happens if, if we get a normal week of practice for Kalon black.
28:46Um, I want to talk about Parker Washington. I, it's just insane what we've seen.
28:50Yeah. So across his six most recent games, which is like starting last year with that win against Denver until the most
28:57recent game against Denver, the dude has averaged almost four yards per outrun.
29:00Like if you look at his efficiency metrics, they're basically just JSN Puka level stuff.
29:04Um, he has a 20, his, his lowest game across the past six game, his last week's, this week's game, 17 PPR points.
29:11That's his worst game across his past six, including the playoffs.
29:14Um, if you just look at like, since he became a full-time player, it's 15 points per game across this past six games, it's 20 points per game.
29:21Like he's just been unstoppable. He's been super consistent.
29:24He creates extra yards after the catch. Um, even in a game where Jacksonville kind of fell apart after the beginning of
29:30the game, they should have won this game. It was just like a stupid loss for them.
29:35I, they stopped. They stopped throwing him the ball.
29:37I don't know what the hell that was. He had nine targets in the first half and then they stopped going to
29:43the thing that works the best and started going to BTJ.
29:46And he, it's just like, what? You know how this goes?
29:49Like what? I don't know. Um, yeah. Brian Thomas Jr.
29:52is only playing in three receiver sets, by the way, like did not play a single, didn't run a single route from two receiver sets.
29:59So that's going to leave him, leave him pretty hit or miss.
30:02Who are they coming after? Who's got the sirens?
30:05It's not me. Oh, that's me in the background.
30:07I don't know what's going on out there. Um, Bayshol Toon sticking with the Jags, uh, sixth in the NFL in yards
30:14after contact on the year ahead of B. John Robinson, just behind Jonathan Taylor.
30:17He writes after contact is something that Liam Cohen talks about all the time.
30:21Um, he had three of their five touches in the red zone this week for the whole team, not just the running backs.
30:28There was a target to LeQuint Allen in the red zone that he dropped and Chris Rodriguez got a red zone touch,
30:34but like, I just think we're going to see him win out here.
30:37I think he's the best player. Um, and Liam Cohen has had four running backs over the past two seasons that have
30:43been top 20 and fantasy points in the red zone.
30:46So like, even if it doesn't consolidate to him, we've seen multiple instances of two backs being really relevant in the red zone.
30:53And there's a chance that it does consolidate. I think just to tootin because he's their best back.
30:58Um, we'll see Rodriguez, you know, obviously there's familiarity there, but he, he hasn't looked like he's adding a whole lot relate
31:04to this point where his tootin has. Yeah. And he got a one yard touchdown run, Bajol Tootin, which was encouraging.
31:10A design play, which is like Liam Cohen is, I think maybe the best in the league or at least he has
31:16been at like designing red zone touchdowns for running backs that are just really easy walking touchdowns.
31:20Pretty awesome stuff. Yeah. Direct snap to him. Huh?
31:23Cool. Uh, anything else? No, I mean, that's, that's pretty much it.
31:26All right. Dan, you got anything? I have plenty of stuff, but got a lot coming for the four big topics.
31:32So I'll save it for that. All right. Uh, Jawan Johnson.
31:35I don't know what happened here. He went from an 82% route rate to 59%, but he did have a higher target charity.
31:41Just missed the touchdown. Looking at Oscar Delp came back, but he didn't play much, but like maybe that changed it a little bit.
31:48Noah fan. They there, he's running more routes. Uh, the bears route participation rates.
31:52Romo Dune's a 93%. Kalief Raymond, 78%. Luther Byrd in 73%.
31:55Colson Loveland, 71%. Loveland led the team in route rate in week one.
31:59I'm thinking maybe he was blocking more because you know, Minnesota blitzes every play.
32:02Basically, uh, watching him just get overwhelmed by D, uh, by Dallas and the last, but yeah, Dallas Turner, the last play
32:09was just like so brutal on top of everything.
32:11Like, I don't know. It's obvious. It's like so easy to blame him.
32:15And then like literally for it to end like that was just like, Oh my God, it couldn't be worse.
32:20Yeah. But he, but he was, he should have probably had a touchdown on the play where, where Caleb got hurt.
32:26I don't know why Caleb didn't throw it to him.
32:29Uh, but we'll talk about that a little bit later.
32:32Montgomery and Woody marks played about the same amount of snaps.
32:35I mentioned this Montgomery got the first three carries of the game, but it was pretty, you know, marks outplayed him after
32:41that or play more than him after that. Travion Henderson didn't run a route on third down.
32:45He did play for snaps on third down. They were all run plays Cleveland route participation rate.
32:50Denzel ball said 94% Harold fan at 83% Casey Concepcion, 74% and Quinch on Judkins.
32:54Jerry Judy was there too. Whatever Quinch on Judkins, 46% route rate.
32:58This is now four straight games dating back to last year, including one where he left with an injury where Quinch on
33:04Judkins has run more than 40% of the routes.
33:06He did not do that in any of the first 12 games of his career came close, but he is more involved
33:12in the passing game and he's got four or more targets in three of his last four games.
33:17Quinch on Judkins dating back to 2025. Uh, you know, it's obviously not looking great for him, but Deshaun Watson has definitely
33:23been much better than I expected since the first quarter of week one.
33:27He could be horrible. I recognize that. I hope better times are ahead for Quinch on Judkins.
33:32I'm not putting out any by-low offers, but if you're a depressed Quinch on Judkins manager, at least there's some, some positives to take away.
33:39Um, Ted Hurst played over Jaylin McMillan for Tampa Bay.
33:41Lad McConkie ran 90% of the routes in week one before his injury, 71% yesterday.
33:45He was playing hurt and they took him off the field at times.
33:49Um, and does anybody have an explanation for the backfield splits in Washington?
33:53Rashad white played 52% of the snap. Rashad white was basically a non-factor to the point where I was like, man, uh,
33:59Jokoroski merit or Jokoroski merit fumbled in week one and they put Katron Allen.
34:03And I don't even know what the heck was shot.
34:05White is doing on the team. And this week he plays 52% of the snaps.
34:10Jokoroski merit plays 37% of the snaps. Rashad white was in near the goal line.
34:14I don't even know. I don't know what happened here.
34:17This is what Jacob was worried about with Bill Kroski merit before the year.
34:20And it kind of played out exactly as he said, when the game script falls to this level.
34:25And it wasn't like this in week one where they're kind of in the game the whole time against the Eagles.
34:31When it falls to this level, we're not going to see a lot of bill.
34:35And that's pretty much exactly what we saw in this game.
34:38I still don't know if it's going to make white that relevant.
34:42If we have Mariota for an extended period of time.
34:45And I, I know they said Jaden will play again this year, but I don't, I guess he'll play again and they'll
34:51bring him back and then hope he just doesn't get hurt.
34:54I assume he needs surgery eventually for this. I don't even know, but they're not going to be able to do it this year.
35:00So it's kind of like last year we'll come back and then hopefully he just doesn't get hurt somehow.
35:06I don't know how you do that as a quarterback at the NFL level with your elbow like that.
35:11But if it's Mariota for an extended period of time, I bill is borderline droppable for me.
35:16Oh, not there yet. Not there yet. Let's see what happens.
35:19I don't know how he scores. It's like a similar, but it's not that bad.
35:23Like Mariota, like Mariota averaged 7.5 yards per attempt last season.
35:26Jane Daniels average. Different scheme. Jane Daniels averaged 7.4 yards per attempt in his rookie season.
35:30I'm not saying he's better or anything, but Mario is not a bad.
35:34You could do worse at backup quarterback. Yeah. You could do definitely worse for sure.
35:38All right. We'll get into the four big topics.
35:40When we come back, we're going to talk about how the mighty have fallen.
35:44George Pickens, Devon H and Colson Loveland. We'll talk about the chargers, the Patriots.
35:48Always negative stuff here. And some of the rookies.
35:51Yeah, right. I mean, it's a really weird week, right?
35:53There were a bunch of injuries. A bunch of people played really poorly.
35:57I was just looking around at like the leaders and it was like, wow, this is really low scoring week.
36:03There are guys that I didn't think had good games and they were like top 12 of their position.
36:08Yeah. Interesting. Yeah. All right. Um, we'll be right back on fantasy football today.
36:12Welcome back folks. All right. Our first big topic.
36:14It comes from what's your name, dude. NFL Robbie says have the mighty fallen examples.
36:18Pickens still a top 15 wide receiver. H and still a top 12 running back Loveland still a top 12 tight end.
36:25Dan, what are the answers to those three questions?
36:27Is George Pickens top 15? I still believe more so in Pickens than I do any of the other three.
36:33Um, and I'll say Pickens because I still feel like we're in a similar spot with the Cowboys where they're a not
36:39so good on defense, maybe a tiny bit better being going to be playing in these high octane shootouts and see Dak
36:45looks like to me, one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
36:48I know people don't hate to hear that cause he's never one of the playoffs and he throws picks in the playoffs, whatever it is.
36:55But in the regular season, he processes fast as hell, man.
36:58And he looked, that was the best tape I think of any quarterback all season decks tape, especially the first half against the commanders yesterday.
37:05So points will come for Pickens, uh, especially if defenses start to adjust to take away lamb, which they have in the past.
37:11If that happens, Pickens will have continued one on ones and Dax, the type of quarterback who loves to do that.
37:17If you're taking away one player, Dax will just out process you and throw the other player.
37:22So I'm still high on Pickens. I was never high on H and to begin with.
37:26He was on my avoid list and draft him anywhere.
37:29Um, it's not worse than I thought it would be.
37:32This is about what I thought it would be.
37:34I see that the yards per carry is way down from past seasons, 3.7 in week two, 3.3 in week one, or the reverse of that.
37:42The targets were there sort of in week one, not as much last week.
37:45Just generally speaking, this offense kind of stinks. Um, and it's hard to buy into players on bad offenses.
37:51So I was never in on him. I don't think he's top 12 rest of season.
37:55There's too many guys who have stepped up at running back.
37:58Loveland top 12 is interesting. It doesn't take much to be a top 12 fantasy tight end, but we're getting performances that
38:04we didn't expect from guys down the board, likely Kelsey among others.
38:08Um, even you could say Dalton Schultz for as long as Nico Collins is out is probably a more reliable player than Loveland.
38:14Somehow the Caleb news helps that he's not so badly hurt.
38:17Uh, top 12 is more doable. I'd say on my panic meter, it's number one, a Chan number two or number one.
38:23A Chan, as far as being a top 12 guy, number two, Loveland, as far as being a top 12 guys, not
38:29so hard to be a top 12 guy. And then Pickens is not a big concern of mine.
38:34Okay. I will say that a Chan was running back six and expected fantasy points this past week.
38:39He had six targets. Um, he started back 12 on the year and expected fantasy points according to the fantasy points status model.
38:46And I just think it's, I, I don't know for sure.
38:49Cause Miami could just be so bad that it holds down his efficiency, but it just feels like he's so good that
38:55it's hard for him to like be underwhelming in XFP all year long.
38:58Hmm. And so if he continues to have like a top 12 role in terms of like on paper, what you'd expect
39:04given these touches and where they're coming, cause the model knows where the touches are coming, you know, it knows that a
39:10rush attempt from the 60 or from the 40 yard line or whatever, isn't worth that much, you know, like it, it
39:17quantifies red zone touches and stuff like that. And so I just would think that like, if, if on paper he's got
39:23a top 12 role, he, he will be a top 12 player.
39:26And that's basically the, the thesis behind drafting him where you did is like, we don't know how it's going to look.
39:32Miami might be terrible, but he's so good and he's going to get 300 plus touches.
39:37So we'll be fine over the course of the full year.
39:40Even if we have to have some bad games, I think is the idea behind drafting him.
39:44You and I didn't really draft him that much.
39:47I don't have a single share either. Me either.
39:49Not to me, nothing has changed with a Chan.
39:52Um, it's exactly what we expected. And so I don't really know why anything would be changing with our perception of him.
39:58That feels reactionary to just, I think there's just more bad fantasy titles.
40:01What? I just think it's cause there's more good running backs that have emerged behind him.
40:06That's the only reason for me as far as top 12.
40:09Yeah. Well, if you think about how the draft was right, like let's, let's put Jenty back in this top 12.
40:15We always said there's these top 12 running backs just happened to be the number 12, uh, that are first and second
40:21round picks that, you know, we'd love to get two of them.
40:24If we could, we definitely want to get one of them.
40:27Listen, that right. And, and HN was in that, you know, for us more toward the back, but for a lot of
40:33people right in the middle of it and, you know, Hampton and Walker and whatever.
40:37Now we've got guys behind where we've seen Javante Williams didn't have a great game, but he has, you know, the best,
40:44some of the best usage on the cow and he's on the Cowboys.
40:47The Andre Swift for sure. You have the Andre Swift.
40:50Take over. Without Caleb? No, no. I assuming Caleb is, is healthy.
40:53I think without Caleb, I mean, they're still going to run the ball really well.
40:57I think. I don't know if he's going to catch the ball as much.
41:01For the explosiveness of them scoring. Swift is a touchdown maker though.
41:05It's more than on that. I think. I would take HN.
41:08Over Swift rest of season. If Caleb's fine. He had 20 carries and six targets this week.
41:12Like he could have. This begs me to ask you the HN question because what are they worth on a team that doesn't score points?
41:19I don't, I think we'll see. I mean, would you take Swift over Bijan?
41:23Cause he has like the exact same. Then Bijan.
41:26Bijan is majorly concerning as well. Not to spend.
41:28No, he's not. Of course he is. Like Bijan was on a crap offense last year and he was RB.
41:34It wasn't as crap. That's the thing. Because they don't have their quarterback yet.
41:38Okay. So if you tell me Penix is ready to go and the fact that he's not able to play the first
41:44two weeks, but he'll certainly somehow be fine when he goes, it could be bad, dude.
41:48It could be like Penix is not the Penix we saw last year.
41:52Then what? Cause they can't go to rush. That's true.
41:54They can't go to strand. And then if Penix like.
41:57They have Tua. They have Tua at some point.
42:00I mean Bijan's going to get so many touches and so many catches.
42:03He's going to be fine. Penix was. Well I talked about it last year, but he was able to move the ball a little bit.
42:10HN's going to be fine too. Look, HN's going to be fine, but the fact that him not being a top 12
42:16running back sounds worse than I think it is.
42:19When you consider that he was basically toward the back end of a tier of 12 running backs.
42:24So all it takes is a few guys in the next tier to move ahead of him.
42:29I mean, I don't think we'd be surprised if Bucky Irving were better at this point.
42:33Wouldn't be surprised if Javante and DeAndre Swift were better at this point.
42:37Brees Hall, maybe. And I use Brees Hall as an example for Devon HN on Wednesday's show when we did the Worryometer.
42:43Brees Hall in 2023, he was the number five running back per game in half PPR.
42:47Number six per game in full PPR. He was top three overall in those formats.
42:51And his offense was 30th. They scored 13.9 points per game.
42:54And they had Garrett Wilson who had 168 targets.
42:57And guess what? He scored 15.7 points in week one Brees Hall that year.
43:01And then the next three games he combined for 14.5 fantasy points.
43:04And the next three games he rolled off three straight games of 20 or more points.
43:08And that's kind of, I just don't think you're going to get consistency from HN like you used to.
43:14But I don't think the chat is interpreting what I said right at all.
43:18I'm not trading Bijan. I'm not panicking on Bijan at all.
43:21Obviously, he's a phenomenal player. But until he gets semi-competent quarterback play, his ceiling is wildly capped.
43:25He scored like a 50 points in week one.
43:2830 points in week one. The chat's going off.
43:30I get it. He had that week, but then he had a week like this as well.
43:35Yeah. So it's not like every, you know, this is not at the level of Gibbs with actual competent offense.
43:41There's going to be weeks like this. But of course, like if Penix is back or they stabilize somewhat at quarterback, it should be fine.
43:48All right. He's Bijan Robinson scored 11.1 points yesterday.
43:50He scored fewer than that four times last year.
43:53Right. That's a, that's a quarter of his games.
43:55It happens. I mean, I'm just saying it happens, you know, even to the best of them.
44:00Yeah. All right. I think all of this is a point about HN basically.
44:04Yeah. Like, yeah, his longest play this year is 17 yards.
44:07He only has two plays that are longer than 10 yards.
44:10Like Brees Hall this week had like what? One yard per carry or whatever, but he had a good fantasy game.
44:16He had 14 points. He was like running back eight or something in a terrible game just because he had some big plays as a receiver.
44:23He had six sketches. I think HN could do that.
44:25I don't, I'm not buying low on HN, but I'm also not panicking if I have them.
44:30I just like wish I had taken Ken Walker instead.
44:33Yeah. Yeah. Probably. I would have. Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah.
44:35I had him ranked considerably higher. That's fair on Pickens real quick.
44:39I don't know if we really talked about him much.
44:42I do think there's some relevant context. I've not, I don't see him as like being worth worrying about at all.
44:47Um, I guess with HN and love that that's fair, especially with the Caleb injury is serious.
44:52Um, but Pickens has a 21% target share. You mentioned his target per outrun rate is higher than it has been.
44:58Um, the Cowboys is only have 106 plays across two games on offense.
45:01Only the Browns and Titans have fewer and they have a hundred of four and a hundred.
45:06So they're basically like the fewest plays in the league is where the Cowboys are.
45:10Last year they led the NFL in place per game.
45:13And I think that's a more realistic expectation than being near the bottom.
45:17They're also first in the league in pass rate over expectations.
45:20So given the circumstances of any given play, um, are they passing or running relative to like what you'd expect?
45:25They're by far the highest. And that's that. So I think everything is set up really well.
45:30It's just been a weird result. Yep. And they are, have the sixth, six fastest pace.
45:34So, um, they had one kind of blowout win and one game where they barely had the ball.
45:39It's lowered their pass attempts. Only stat I saw from Pickens that concerned me.
45:4334.4% of his routes have been go routes according to true media.
45:47And those are bad routes. We don't want that last year.
45:50It was 22%, but two game sample size. I won't panic.
45:53He's like the definition of the player. You don't worry about that with though.
45:57Like I worry about that with like every single receiver, except for him basically, or like Jamar or something.
46:02You'd rather them have a good role, but like he can succeed within that role.
46:06We saw last year. All right, let's get four minutes here on the next topic.
46:10Patriots. The Patriots are in trouble offensively says Robert.
46:13And you know what, Robert? I think I'd have to agree with you, but I also think yesterday was, was bad weather.
46:19Um, the Drake may only through 22 times. They had a defensive touchdown.
46:22They didn't have to do much, but they just don't have a lot of talent on this team.
46:27And they just lost their right tackle probably for the year.
46:30Dan, what are you thinking about the Patriots? How much trouble is this offense in?
46:35And is Drake may a sit until further notice he's at Jacksonville this week?
46:38I watched this entire game and I actually came away pretty enthused with what may put on tape.
46:43There are moments where you're like, okay, maybe he's not seeing it fast enough.
46:47And that's been the discussion. Like have teams adjusted and is he processing fast enough?
46:51But there's still the moments that make him shine where he's just like standing in the pocket.
46:56And he's understanding like, cause his offensive line has been really bad.
47:00That's the biggest concern for rest of season for fantasy for me.
47:03This Patriots offensive line looks as bad as it looked to me at the end of last season.
47:08And now they just had a major injury, but he'll stand in a pocket and deliver a ball to Eli Raritan.
47:14That's some like, despite not having a balanced base, not being able to set his feet.
47:18He puts it right there for Raritan to make the catch.
47:21Great. And then he'll like navigate the pocket later in the game, create escape and find dabs down the field for 67 or whatever it was.
47:28And it looks like the same magical player at times, but overall this offense is going to take a step back without AJ Brown.
47:35And people might look at it like, well, last year they didn't have AJ Brown.
47:39I hate to say it, but like a player like Kayshawn Booty was something they lost.
47:44Like losing him was not in my mind good for this offense.
47:47Cause Dobbs is not the same kind of player on the outside.
47:50And at this point they're not giving Kyle Williams enough opportunities to potentially be that player.
47:55And so defenses have shrunk the field and digs as well.
47:58Of course, that's like a different, a different aspect of what they were able to do, but it's a big one as well.
48:04And so teams are playing them a little differently.
48:07I think we'll see trait like the run game probably benefit the most by the way that teams are going to play
48:13the Patriots specifically because they're in gun a lot.
48:15And there's a lot of opportunity, I think to create big plays out of that as we saw with Henderson in this game.
48:22But right now from a fantasy standpoint, Drake may is not scrambling as much as he was.
48:26And there's just not as many explosive playmakers. I'm not that worried about it from what I saw.
48:31I thought may look pretty good. And I thought the connection with Dobbs was much improved from week one to week two.
48:37Like that's a player on my radar moving forward Dobbs, especially for at least for the weeks that Brown is out, but
48:43it's not going to be the same offense. It was last year at all.
48:47And the matchups are much harder, which definitely plays a role as people obviously noted.
48:51Right. I think that's important. They face Seattle and Pittsburgh, so that's going to make their pass rush right, but losing their right tackle.
48:58Now he's being replaced by Morgan Moses, who's very experienced player, but had his hands full yesterday with TJ Watt, obviously.
49:04But this week, like I'm avoiding them. I think Jacksonville has a pretty good defense.
49:08I'm avoiding the Patriots for the most part this week.
49:11I'm sitting Drake may again at Buffalo. I think, you know, they're going to have to throw a lot that game.
49:17And then the Raiders jets at the bears at Miami starts to get pretty damn good.
49:21And in the midst of that, you might get AJ Brown returning.
49:24Now I will say I am very concerned about AJ Brown because like high ankle sprains.
49:29Yeah. So I think they have kind of a bad reputation, high ankle sprains.
49:33And I've already given examples of players who didn't really lose any efficiency after missing three weeks with a high ankle sprain in the past.
49:40Saquon Barkley, Jonathan Taylor, and last year's CD lamb.
49:42And I would say Jeremiah love to me looks pretty damn good right now.
49:46But this is obviously a more severe high ankle sprain.
49:49And that does have me concerned about AJ Brown.
49:51I'm trying to offload my AJ Brown chairs. I don't know how this is going to work out.
49:56I could be totally wrong about it, but I don't, I just, I, I think he might not be the player that we hoped.
50:03I am concerned about the Patriots offense. I think they're going to struggle, especially in the short term, but Henderson and versus Stevenson will be the split.
50:10We're all focusing on next week and Hunter Henry five targets, which is actually a lot.
50:15He led the team in targets. They only threw 22 passes.
50:18Raritan's hurt. He ran a ton of routes. So definitely a waiver wire guy.
50:22Kayshawn Booty had the highest passer rating when targeted as the first three target last year behind only Jalen Coker in the whole NFL among qualified receivers.
50:29So to Dan's point, I think losing him and then also losing AJ Brown is pretty tough, especially if you are, you refuse to play Kyle Williams.
50:37Then yeah, I don't know. Good luck with Matt Collins or whatever.
50:40Jacob, um, Wes, whose Twitter name is hi. My name is Wes.
50:43Hello Wes. Thanks for coming by. What's up Wes?
50:46Wants to know what to do with these rookies.
50:48So I'm going to give you a rookie and you tell me buy, sell, hold, drop, pick up, whatever stash.
50:54Carnell Tate, uh, chill and pick them up in a few weeks.
50:57Jordan, Jeremiah love every time. Jeremiah love. I'd buy I'd trade for love, but again, I think he's going to probably be
51:03even less valuable in a week or two. I think people are nearing the fever pitch of panic.
51:08We're not quite there yet. Casey Concepcion. Uh, he's great.
51:11I think he's playing exactly how you can expect.
51:14I don't think his role is going to change much.
51:16Maybe at some point he plays ahead of Jerry Judy and two receiver sets right now.
51:21He's only playing in the slot. Um, they're getting him designed targets as a catch and run guy.
51:26He's very good at that. So whatever you want to do with that.
51:29I just don't want the Browns really. Okay. Denzel Boston.
51:32Yeah. Uh, so he's very good. I still think he's an ad though.
51:36I mean, 52% rostered. You could sell him for something better, but, but I think he's worth rostering.
51:41Um, and then Jonah Coleman with JK Dobbins, apparently good to go.
51:44It looks like JK Dobbins probably going to play this week, but Jonah Coleman, a nice game for the Broncos.
51:50Yeah. Um, he was getting in there already. I think he might be their best running back and Dobbins hasn't looked quite like himself this year.
51:57I think Coleman has a lot of juice. He can pass protect.
52:00He can also play on passing downs as a receiver.
52:03Um, he can do short yardage stuff. He's really complete running back.
52:06I think that we're only going to see more and more of Coleman this year.
52:10I have a couple different thoughts. The first would be, and just on two players and not different with Coleman Coleman.
52:16I thought had great vision on the cutbacks to me kind of look like a younger version of what I saw from
52:22Dobbins, both at Ohio state with the Ravens. Reminded me a little bit of like a young MJD MJD.
52:28Maurice Jones drew for a throwback low center of gravity, understanding where to cut back, when to come back, when to bust
52:34outside, but also has that ability to kind of like narrow his, um, I guess, narrow his path to get extra yards.
52:40Really good day or really good, uh, debut for me watching his film.
52:43I didn't watch his week one tape. Boston for me is actually a buy.
52:47I'm really high on what I saw from Denzel Boston.
52:50I watched that entire tape. I thought he had excellent timing on an intermediate back shoulder with Watson.
52:55The fact that Watson's already throwing him back shoulders was interesting to me.
52:59I counted three times where Watson went to him on third downs.
53:02Uh, that to me is extremely important. There was almost another touchdown for Boston on a third and six red zone fade
53:08vert that he just wasn't able to come down with.
53:11That would have made the game even bigger. Obviously the big play touchdown was some bad tackling.
53:15It was also great contact balance burst post catch.
53:18I thought he did a great job of, of, uh, running that route too.
53:22He had to get it. It was a really tight coverage throw by Deshaun.
53:26One of the best throws he's made in years.
53:28And Boston had to run a really precise route to get to that spot.
53:32And he did. And then there was a late third down where they had a Casey Concepcion come in motion.
53:38So they could guarantee that they would get the right leverage from the outside corner.
53:42And it was just a quick out to Boston, but Boston was the guy that designed that play for.
53:47And I just think we can't forget how good Todd Munkin is.
53:50All the advanced stats, all the metrics show. He's been one of the best five play callers and play designers over the last two seasons.
53:57As bad as the Browns are, I feel like a Boston was the go-to guy on third downs B.
54:03He's showing great timing and rapport and building a timing report with, with Deshaun Watson and see, you still have Todd Munkin.
54:09So Boston for me is somebody I'm really interested in moving forward based on what I saw on tape.
54:14And you could discredit the, the fluky touchdown he had bouncing off tacklers.
54:18That's fair, but he also had a six, he almost had a 16 yard touchdown up the left sideline and just didn't, wasn't able to hang onto it.
54:25Uh, so he's becoming a pretty, looks like a favorite target for Deshaun Watson, who is not playing.
54:30And he did it in a variety of ways, by the way, the outbreaking routes, he had a comeback route.
54:36He had the vertical route you talked about. And then that deep in cut, there was just a lot of different routes
54:42that he won on, which I like. I would also say that, look, this guy's by no means a must roster player,
54:48but if you're in a deeper league, I wouldn't give up on Caleb Douglas.
54:52He had a bad game and you know, they had, they had a bad game at San Francisco, but, uh, he played again.
54:58He ran pretty much all the routes and we think he's a pretty talented player.
55:02So it's going to be up and down. 49ers defense is legit this year too.
55:07They're going to be one of the better in the NFL.
55:10I'd like to see them play a team that's not the dolphins and a team that's not sleep deprived.
55:15Did you see that he had a boot on after the game?
55:18Oh no. Was that Douglas did? Yeah. Oh, how did I not see that?
55:22No, I didn't say, I'm sorry about that. All right.
55:25Both those guys are good. It's just like, I don't know.
55:28It's just like Cardinal Tate. Like I just, I've got a really hard time buying into these offenses.
55:33I think there's a real chance these are the best games Boston has, no matter how good he is.
55:38Right. We, we kind of thought, you know, some of these rookie wide receivers just didn't go to the best spots.
55:44Um, but at least they're not on the chargers.
55:46Our last big topic, what is wrong with the chargers offense?
55:50They had three drops. They had eight penalties. They had the second worst pressure rate allowed.
55:54Uh, their, uh, their right tackle. Joe all had a terrible game apparently.
55:58And it's, uh, Arizona and the chargers, Arizona and the Raiders to start the year.
56:02This is going to be amazing. Well, it really hasn't been amazing.
56:05Uh, Jacob, you can go first. I think you're going to spew a lot of hatred right now at the direction of
56:11the San Diego or Los Angeles chargers. Um, yeah, I watched this game.
56:15It was pretty rough, but I think it's, I think it's mostly the line, honestly.
56:19And there were, it could have been so much different.
56:22Um, I, it's, it was a really frustrating game if you like want to believe in it.
56:26So just like throughout the game, I can just take you through what happened.
56:30There was Brandon Thompson dropped this perfect throw from Herbert at the beginning of the game.
56:35Would have been a 25 yard gain to move the chains.
56:38They ended up getting into third and three on that possession.
56:41It's Thompson again, massive win at the top of his route, wide open for a 20 plus yard gain.
56:46Herbert steps up, avoids two pass rushers, delivers the ball perfectly.
56:49And our own to Gadsden tries to intercept it.
56:52And then like the next drive, third and five perfect pass to Njoku.
56:55And he freaking like volleyball sets it like alley oops it to the Raiders for an intercept.
57:00And it's just like, here we go. Like it's.
57:02Yep. Like we're all nervous heading into the afternoon games that it's going to be bad again.
57:07Next drive starts at the one yard line. And of course their line can't block.
57:11So they just try to run the ball. It doesn't work.
57:14They punt next drive third and 11 to McConkie.
57:17Finally, like we actually get something moving a little bit here.
57:20Um, the line creates some room to run. We're actually moving Hampton camp caps it off the touchdown.
57:25And I was like, okay, this is kind of what we thought it could look like.
57:29But that was like the only good drive for the whole freaking game.
57:33Um, two minute drill, perfect ball to QJ along the sideline, right in his hands.
57:37Would have been 18 yards dropped that one. Uh, there's the Trey Harris play third and one in the third quarter.
57:43He's in motion. They snap the ball into his leg as he's like in motion.
57:47And Herbert gets credited with a fumble. He has three fumbles on the game.
57:51One of them was that. Um, and at that point, I think it's just kind of over.
57:56Like it's really, really derailed and it's the, everybody's kind of panicking.
57:59It really does seem like Herbert is, uh, in panic mode a little bit at this time.
58:04And so that's where you get to the, I think the sack fumble that everybody kind of saw on red zone where
58:10he's like trying to stiff harm the guy. Um, that was a, that was the first truly bad Herbert play I saw.
58:16So in week one, I was actually really critical of Herbert.
58:19I thought he did not play well. Um, but he was still pretty accurate in that game for the most part.
58:25There were a couple of bad misses, but generally speaking, he was pretty accurate.
58:29And in this game, I thought he was very accurate again.
58:32I'm curious what the charting looks like, but to me, he threw it well throughout the game until that Trey Harris play.
58:38And then it all fell apart. Um, so on that fumble, he has Trey Harris wide open and doesn't take it.
58:43And then immediately there's a free blitzer coming and he decides to try to like make the rollout hero play to the right and fumbles.
58:50And luckily they get it, it could have easily been a touchdown and it just keeps getting worse.
58:55Then you, you miss QJ along the sideline. I think a lot of people saw all this stuff at the end of the game.
59:02And so it feels a lot worse than it was, but really this didn't have to be this way, man.
59:08Like it really spiraled out of control. And at the end of the game, it's like, there's the, the play where he
59:14fumbles trying to do this stiff arm. And then there's the freaking Amarin Hampton fumble.
59:18And I just feel like the vibes at that point were so out of control, bad, just horrific.
59:23It was just so over at that point. And then it all culminates in the second straight week of Herbert, for some
59:29reason, trying to fit it into five foot eight, 165 pound Darius Davis, a double coverage for an interception to end the game.
59:35It's just like, what is going on? And so now we're at the point we are today where everybody is like, Mike
59:41McDaniel is not going to make it through the season.
59:44Justin Herbert and his, his girlfriend's the problem. He's her wife.
59:47He's, he's an idiot. He's terrible. Like, I don't know.
59:50I think all the players are good, except for the line.
59:53The line's playing terrible. I don't think the players are that good though.
59:57I do. I don't think the McConkie is good.
59:59He's McConkie is very good. They don't have an explosive receiver.
60:02Like Quentin Johnson's not that good. He's fine. I don't know.
60:05I think their talent's overrated. McConkie is really, really good.
60:08I think Trey Harris is actually really good. He played really well in this game.
60:12He didn't play great in the first game, but I played really well today.
60:16Yeah, he's like wide open for a big play, you know, and ran.
60:20I mean, I'll trust you on that. He got himself.
60:22He was open a lot. He was open a lot.
60:25I don't think he's a really good blocker. I think he's just a good player.
60:29And then Brendan Thompson, I think he's actually really good too.
60:32He was winning repeatedly. He had a bad drop at the beginning of the game, but like, he's actually good if you have to go to him.
60:40I don't know, man. I mean, I think it might be good, but this is not, I don't think it's one of the most talented offenses.
60:47I think it can be, but I don't think it is right now for a lot of reasons.
60:52From what I saw on the tape, Jacob did a great job.
60:55I don't know how stupid these drives ended, but there was one more stupid one where Herbert goes to the play side
61:01on a two-man concept trying to find McConkie. It's not there.
61:05He somehow found a way to navigate the pocket, step through it and throw to a wide open Thompson and Gadsden like thinks the ball's coming for him.
61:12And like, oh, you said that when I was third and three, I was at the beginning of the game.
61:18That was the beginning. Yeah. I missed that one, but that's another one.
61:21And Thompson missed the drop earlier. It was a really bad drop.
61:25You had the joke. I put all five of the plays on Twitter that ended drives that were either horrific drops by
61:31Johnson, Thompson, Johnson on another, and then the stupid fumble snap on third and one that killed the drive.
61:36But they're also playing at a slow pace, which is not helpful.
61:39And I think the bigger issue that I have right now outside of what Jacob said is, is Mike McDaniel a fake sharp?
61:46I'm starting to wonder that because this offensive design does not fit Herbert's skillset.
61:50There's way too many of these slow, long developing play action passes with a bad interior offense line.
61:55But we're the time where like Herbert turns his back to the defense.
61:58By the time he turns around, the pressure is like right in his face.
62:02And it's like, all right, you might've developed a good route combination behind this play action pass McDaniel, but there's no time for it.
62:09So now we're off schedule immediately. There's also times where Herbert, who I think has looked way less comfortable in the pocket
62:15than I've seen him since last season when the offensive line broke down is just missing reads, like missing open in breakers
62:21and over routes on the backside of digs that on the backside of routes that I usually see him understand the concept
62:27of and hit, but he's not because he looks a little more, I guess, I don't want to say the word panic,
62:33but just uncomfortable in the pocket than he's used to because his offensive line is bad.
62:38But then there's also stats that kind of back up the idea of like, maybe it's not all there for McDaniel as it used to be.
62:45Um, and these are, uh, courtesy of Pat Thorman, who's really good at doing this.
62:49And he said, Mike McDaniel neutral pass rates with Tua 2022, 63%, second, the NFL 2023, 62%, fourth in the NFL.
62:55This is when he was actually an amazing offensive coordinator in my mind.
62:58And they were actually an explosive offense that I thought they would be with a player like Herbert last two seasons.
63:04He's been 18th and 22nd with Justin Herbert 31st in neutral pass rate through the first two weeks.
63:09The chargers are 31st in neutral script drop back rate with the Rams still pending tonight.
63:14Another one that he had is related to that.
63:16The chargers have a league worst minus 19.7 EPA as a rushing offense through two weeks.
63:21So for some reason, he's running the ball neutral game scripts more than all, but one team.
63:25And they've been one of the worst, if not the worst so far, the league worst team at running the football, um, in through the first two weeks.
63:33So I don't know what is going on. I think personally, they need to do some of the stuff that Herbert was,
63:39was great with in the past, instead of just leaning fully into the things that McDaniel thinks will work to me.
63:45It's like, he's running the Tua offense for Herbert, which I don't know, but the more recent two offense, the two offense
63:51before it was, you know, waddle and Hill, not the 2022 23 version, like the more recent version, which maybe is because he doesn't trust his offensive line.
63:59McDaniel, that could be the case. I don't know, but this is not working schematically at all right now.
64:04And I feel like Jacob was spot on with Herbert through a lot of on target passes.
64:09I mean, you could, someone tweeted, I tweeted the cut up Adam and Jacob and someone was like, ah, that Njoku pass
64:15was a little bit thrown under thrown. I'm like, dude, he's throwing a far hash rip 35 yards down the field.
64:2190% of NFL quarterbacks would be under thrown to the point of intercepted or not even trying that throw.
64:26The ball hits Njoku in the, in the chest, in two hands, it pops it up for an interception.
64:31I mean, I don't know, man. All right. Well, I think there's their sixth and running back rush success rate.
64:37The EPA is because of the fumbles. Okay. The, uh, the dolphins, it's a fair counter to Pat's tweet.
64:42That's fair. But the neutral pass, the run rate still is really high.
64:46Let me tell you his first year with the dolphins, 2022.
64:49Um, they started, this is the points per game.
64:5120, 42, nine, uh, 21, 15, 17, 16, 16.
64:54It's pretty bad for the first seven games. Then 31, 35, 39, 30, 17, 17, 29, 22 gets hurt.
64:5921 Bridgewater gets hurt. 11. They got better in the second half of the year.
65:03And there's a article from the LA times. It says Mike McDaniels complicated scheme is turning charges offense into a disaster.
65:09I mean, it's possible. They just need time to adjust to it.
65:12It is possible. Yeah. I will say one player I'm very worried about though.
65:16Is a player was super high on Quinton Johnson.
65:19The reason being, the reason I liked him so much was the improvements he made throughout his career, specifically last season.
65:24Right now he looks like a player who's playing without confidence.
65:27The concentration drops are back. This is back-to-back weeks and I think it's a big problem because that was what he was in his rookie season.
65:35He was a player who was playing unconfidently and that could happen to players throughout their career.
65:39More so corners than receivers, but you see it with receivers as well.
65:43So he was a player I was super high on and I'm very worried about right now.
65:48If they can have all the random stuff not happen with all the drops and everything.
65:52And then also if Ladd can be healthy, I think that they could be fine.
65:56QJ is not playing very well, but I honestly do think that they can replace some of the guys that I said,
66:02that Trey Harris, Brennan Thompson, even Keith Mitchell on some of the drags and stuff like that is fine.
66:08They've been lining him up at receiver a lot.
66:10I don't disagree that they could be better, but I've run into this problem on this particular show where I've looked at
66:16teams that are struggling and I've gone through the tape and I've been like, oh, well, they had this play that was a drop.
66:23They had a penalty here. And you know what happens?
66:26They keep messing up. Yeah, that's possible. Also, a lot of teams that are doing well on offense also have these types
66:32of setbacks during the game, but they're good enough to compensate for it.
66:35We can't have a team with the Chargers where it's like everything has to go right for them to be okay.
66:41And meanwhile, they just played the Raiders and the Cardinals.
66:44And next up, they've got the Bills, which I think could be okay.
66:47Seahawks, Broncos, Chiefs, Bay, Rams, Houston, Ravens. Yeah. I'm pretty freaking concerned here.
66:51Great point. Schedule's horrible. And yeah. If I had to guess, it's probably like 75% over like 25% chance it could get better, but probably not happening.
66:59Yeah. Probably going to go bad. All right. You still start McConkie with confidence and Hampton with confidence?
67:04I don't know. He only had like a 40% route rate.
67:07I don't. McConkie. I mean, Hampton, you still for sure.
67:09Hampton. Yeah. Yeah. I'm talking about McConkie. I just don't know when he's back and they're letting him play.
67:15Sure. Yeah. I think it's 70% route rate. Maybe I saw that right.
67:18Maybe I saw 40% snap rate. You could be right.
67:21Okay. Either way, they weren't doing as much of the over the middle stuff.
67:25Like when he got an over the middle target, he immediately went down.
67:29Like it just seemed like they were trying to protect him.
67:32On that 19 yarder. Yep. Okay. Thanks guys. Great show today.
67:35Fun stuff. Even though it was all depressing. That's what people want.
67:38They asked us about depressing teams. They always, yeah.
67:40They always want to know more about the players who are doing poorly than the players who were doing.
