Jacoby Brissett is ranked at the top of waiver quarterbacks for Week 4, coming off a strong performance against San Francisco and facing a favorable matchup against the Giants.

Insight page

Jaylen Wright

0:00A lot of injuries, a lot of players to add.
0:03Let's talk about it right now on Fantasy Football Today Express.
0:06HN out for the year. HN out for several weeks maybe.
0:08That's Devon and Travis. Breece Hall, week to week.
0:11Tough week for running backs. What are we looking at at the Waiver Wire?
0:15It has to start at that position. Here's Jamie Eisenberg to tell you all about it.
0:19So, I still lean Braylon Allen over Dolphins guys simply because, well two reasons.
0:22One, I think the Jets offense is going to be better.
0:25Two, I don't know what we're going to get when Jalen Wright is healthy.
0:29He missed week three with a foot injury against the Chiefs.
0:32So while Ollie Gordon performed well and should have an opportunity to be the lead guy, as we talked about on Sunday
0:38night, the last two times that Devon HN was injured or missed games in 2025, Jalen Wright was the lead running back.
0:44So, it's a little bit of a touchy situation even though there's a clearer path to touches long term.
0:49We don't know how long Brees Hall is going to be out.
0:52The latest report as of Monday afternoon is week to week.
0:55So, if Braylon Allen presumably is going to get the majority of the touches there, and I think that's the case, he
1:01had all 17 running back touches after Brees Hall was injured.
1:04I think he makes the most sense to add first.
1:06And then it's a toss up really of which Saints running back you like better.
1:10I think Kendra Miller is going to get more carries, but I think Alvin Kamara is probably still going to play more
1:16and have an opportunity for more catches. So, I don't know how to really say, go get a Saints guy because their
1:22running back group has been so bad. But, I think just Kamara's potential is still a little bit higher.
1:27Ceiling is still a little bit higher in my opinion.
1:29So, I would value Kamara a little bit more.
1:32That being said, he's 65% rostered, whereas Kendra Miller is 4% rostered.
1:35So, there's a more chance that you're going to get Kendra Miller.
1:38So, in just ranking these guys, and I know it sounds like we don't have a lot of certainty here because there's
1:44still, at least for me, I'm working my way through this.
1:47I would rank it Braylon Allen 1, Ollie Gordon 2, Alvin Kamara 3, Kendra Miller 4, Jalen Wright 5, Isaiah Davis 6.
1:53And if Jalen Wright, they said Jalen Wright's going to play in week 4, how would that change your rankings?
1:58I still would probably give a slight nod to Oli Gordon just because I think this is a new coaching staff compared to last year.
2:05You know, so, while Mike McDaniel and that group valued speed more so than anything else, Oli Gordon may do some things that this coaching staff likes better.
2:12I don't know. I really don't know. So... Yeah, I was looking for some clues in the first two games with how
2:18they were used, and I really didn't see anything.
2:20Week 1, they were both used on the same amount of snaps.
2:23They both played three or four snaps for the Dolphins.
2:26Week 2, I don't know when Jalen Wright got hurt, but he played more in the first half and Gordon more in the second half.
2:33And it was the reverse in the first game.
2:35I feel like they did use Wright kind of more in passing situations.
2:39If it wasn't A-chan than they did Gordon, which we would expect, you know, going forward.
2:43The question is with the running downs. And Kamara, you know, you said Kendra Miller might get more carries.
2:48I think Kamara might get more carries too because, I mean, I think it's 50-50.
2:52Like Kamara had nine carries yesterday. Miller had four.
2:54And Miller was a healthy scratch in week two when Kamara was healthy.
2:58But things do change when the starting running back goes out.
3:00It's not, you know, it's not the clearest situation.
3:03Except maybe the Jets. So, all right. I see where you're coming from from there.
3:07Do we have any wide receivers that we really like this week?
3:10Um, there's a couple. Keenan Allen probably the headliner just because of what he just did with the first game without Alec Pierce.
3:16So, he would probably be the first guy that I would go get.
3:20Um, after him, it's, you know, not necessarily a, oh my God, I gotta go get this guy.
3:24There are some good, um, deep league options. You know, Kanata Mumfield's coming off a strong game.
3:29I know it was a big play, but coming off a strong game.
3:32You got Bryson Tremaine coming off a game where he just led the Panthers in targets.
3:36And there's no Jalen Coker for who knows how long.
3:39Um, we talked about this. He didn't have a lot of opportunities, but we'll see how long Mike Evans is out, but Jordan Watkins.
3:45Uh, you could look at Trey Harris. I know he just led the, the, uh, chargers and targets and had a strong
3:51game, but I still think McConkie and even Quentin Johnson being in the mix on a team that's struggling right now, not
3:57necessarily something you want to go after. I would be more encouraged by Chris Bell if I knew Caleb though, I was
4:03going to miss more time, but it feels like those guys are going to probably be a week.
4:08You know, one week, it's one guy, one week is the other guy.
4:11And there was a report coming out of camp that they're going to play a lot of the same spots.
4:16And so with Malik Washington being on the field, I don't know how much like one guy is going to necessarily get more opportunities than the other.
4:24It could be Bell just because of what his upside is, but hard to say.
4:28Matt Collins led the Patriots and targets. They're playing the bills.
4:30They're probably chasing points. That's something you can look at revenge game as well.
4:34You know, he used to play for the bills.
4:37Um, and then if you want to go back to Wanda Robinson, he's 65% rostered.
4:41I don't know how much that was just, Hey, let's feature him against the giants, but you know, still, it was good
4:46to see some signs of life from him. With you mentioned, uh, Chris Bell, but Malik Washington, one thought I had was
4:52that maybe the H and injury would help a guy like Malik Washington.
4:56Those short area targets that were going to H and might go to him and coincidence, perhaps he had a 29.4% target
5:01per out run rate in week three. It was 21.5% each of the first two weeks.
5:06So massive boost in target per out run rate from Malik Washington.
5:09You know, for what it's worth, he's been 43 to 56 yards every week.
5:13I guess he's getting targets. You know, he had 10 targets.
5:15Bell had seven targets this, this past game. They held the ball more than I think they've had all season.
5:21I have to go check that, but it seems like their time possession was probably the hardest, highest of the year.
5:26And now here comes Minnesota. Like, Oh, that's true.
5:29It's not a week. You know, like this is not a guy.
5:32These are not guys you want to pick up and start this week.
5:35Now we are going into week five is starts to buy weeks.
5:38So just keep that in mind. Um, for me, the, and it's not a big prize, but the prize that wide receiver is, is Keenan.
5:45Keanu now, and he gets the commanders this week too.
5:48All right. Uh, we'll take a break and look at quarterbacks, tight ends.
5:51DST is when we come back on FFT express.
5:54What are we looking at for quarterbacks? It's a pretty good week.
5:57You know, it's just a matter of like how much of these guys we want to trust and how will they continue or not continue to be successful.
6:04So you have, um, I haven't ordered it yet.
6:07I can tell you what that, how they are in my rankings.
6:10Um, it's Mariota and Brissette are at the top.
6:12Brissette taking on the giants. We'll see what the weather's going to be like there, but, um, coming off a strong game,
6:18you know, you just never know which giants often is going to show up.
6:22But Brissette looked good against San Francisco in the type of game script that we like for Jacoby Brissette.
6:27Uh, Geno Smith is getting another favorable matchup. We'll see what you were recording this before the bears play on Monday night,
6:32but presuming it's still the same bears defense. You know, Smith looked good.
6:36And we said this going into last week that the schedule is going to be very favorable for him.
6:41Um, Mario is taking on the Colts defense. We don't know exactly when Jane Dale is going to return, but it's most
6:47likely Mariota starting in week four and we'll give you plays with his legs.
6:50I don't think the Colts defense solved their problems because of what they did against the Texans.
6:55So Mario is definitely in play. And then there's just so many guys that you can look at and say, okay, they're coming off strong.
7:02As I put Sam down on a list, he's a 66% roster.
7:05We'll talk about him at some point on Tuesday, a little bit more in depth, but it's now back to back games
7:11for the Seahawks with a quarterback throwing three plus touchdowns.
7:13So there's clearly production in this passing game. And you've noted this, um, with Darnold last week, he had great performances last year against terrible defenses.
7:20And I think we'll see him have success against the charters.
7:23Um, I don't think the charges are a terrible defense, but no, but I, I also don't think their run game is working right now either.
7:30So, you know, that's, that's giving Darnold the chance that we're going to give Darnold the chance to make plays.
7:35Uh, Kirk cousins has, you know, multiple touchdowns in three straight games taking on the chiefs.
7:39That might be a high scoring game. Um, I think Michael Penix is going to continue to get better as he continues
7:45to, you know, perform, uh, perform well. Deshaun Watson's now back to back strong games.
7:49He's running again. So that's good for him. Daniel Jones gets the commanders this week.
7:53Maybe this is his best fantasy game. And then for the, the two QB leagues, uh, Jalen Daniels now is taking on the, I say right.
8:00No, it's apparently Jalen. I heard it is Jalen too, but it's Jalen.
8:03Okay. So Jalen Daniels, the other Jalen Daniels spelled differently.
8:06Tampa Bay's quarterback now for the next three weeks, uh, gets, I don't know.
8:10I don't know if you want to call an easy matchup, but you know, somebody you want to pick up in those
8:16formats just to see what he's going to look like for the time that Baker Mayfield was out with the thumb injury.
8:21And then let's keep an eye on what happens with the bears quarterback situation.
8:25You know? So again, recording this before, uh, for the game, if Keenum plays well, he'll be the guy.
8:30If he stinks and they go to Bajan some point, he's cleared from the concussion protocol, but he's going to start taking on the jets.
8:37We know that's not the, uh, the scariest of matchups and the quarterback for Ben Johnson could be good for the interim
8:43until, uh, until Caleb Williams is cleared. And then now you have JJ McCarthy as the potential starter for the giants at some point this season.
8:50So we'll see what happens there. Let's talk about tight ends.
8:52Yeah. A lot of quarterbacks. One more running back to, to obviously consider is Austin Eckler.
8:57Now that he signed with the commanders. And Darren Waller, is he going to be one of the headliners here facing the
9:02Detroit lions who give up the most fantasy points to tight ends?
9:06Yeah. And it's also, you know, coincides with, with a Coker getting hurt.
9:09So Waller would be the first one to go get Sadiq would be right behind him.
9:13Um, it's another good week of, you know, these tight ends that could be helpful for you, useful for you.
9:19So I think those are the two you want to go get right away.
9:22We don't know when Adni Mitchell is going to play for the jets.
9:26So I think that helped also Sadiq. You know, it was very similar setup with what Waller's walking into to what Sadiq walked into last week.
9:33Um, but if Mitchell's out, you know, Sadiq looked great and maybe just being unlocked is, is all we needed from him.
9:38Uh, the Rams situation. Keep an eye on that.
9:41If Puka is out, if Ferguson plays, I would go back to him.
9:44If Ferguson is out, had the ankle injury, I'm going to guess he's probably going to miss some time.
9:49Uh, Tyler Higbee is coming off a strong performance there.
9:52So that's the, uh, pivot play. If you're looking for the deep league option.
9:56Um, Brenton strange gets the, the, uh, bangles, you know, so we'll see.
9:59We'll see if they solve their tight end problem.
10:02Um, the Raiders combination of tight ends played well last week, you know, not necessarily a huge game, but for our move
10:07in Washington had, you know, two, uh, two decent performances when you put them together.
10:11And then for the, the deep league options, I think we're going to see a lot of Michael mayor playing in tandem with, uh, with Brock Bowers.
10:18So he can help you, you know, score touchdown last week and no offense.
10:22Look for what it's worth. He's got three touchdowns in, in, uh, in three games, two touchdown game last week, one touchdown week one.
10:29If you're desperate, he could help you as well.
10:31So we'll see what, uh, what goes on there with him moving forward.
10:34I still would look at a Ronda Gaston too.
10:37And, um, you know, Hunter Henry, I wouldn't rule him out if you're, if you're stuck, but not, not a lot of
10:43love or trust at this point for the Patriots.
10:45Yeah. Oh, okay. And finally, uh, DSTs. Yeah. Not the best of weeks.
10:48Um, but you do have a backup quarterback behind a very bad offensive line in Tampa Bay.
10:53So the Packers, maybe they show up and that's one I would look for.
10:57Um, the bills against the very inept Patriots offense right now.
10:59So we'll see if that helps. And Greg Russo is looking awesome.
11:03So, you know, he's a candidate for defense player of the year at this point through the first three weeks of the season.
11:09And then if Houston's offense can't do anything against the Colts, uh, defense with how they're struggling, you can look at the Cowboys.
11:15Cowboys DST for this week. But those really were the three that I found because a lot of the good DSTs this
11:21week are rostered in a lot of leagues. Keep an eye on the Ravens.
11:24A lot of people drop them playing the Cowboys.
11:27They get the Titans this week. So that's the one that might be available in some of your shallow weeks.
11:32Yeah, makes sense. Thank you, Jamie. We'll have an in-depth breakdown of the waiver wire for you.
11:37Uh, and I'll even tell you the bit I just put in for Braylon Allen.
11:40Although most of the people listening, you know, most of the people I play in are going to be listening to the pod play with in the league.
11:48You're going to be listening to the podcast. So I don't know if I'm going to give up that insider information, but.
11:54We'll talk about it on the show tomorrow. Give your, you give your percentage.
11:57Cause not even knows what your budget is. So, well, they could easily just look.
12:01Who has the time? It's the FFT open and I have Brace Hall.
12:05So I put in a bit, I should, I should have rostered Braylon Allen.
12:09That was my biggest mistake. You know, why did I not roster Braylon Allen?
12:12Big, uh, lazy mistake there. All right. Um, we'll be back tomorrow with more of the waiver wire.
12:17I'm podcasts. So, now we're going to go back and get into it.
12:20We'll also see. So, that's, all right. It looks like we all might're about to be ready for the live stream,
