36

Aaron Jones

PositiveUsage28:49

Jake Seeley prefers Aaron Jones over Quinshon Judkins, emphasizing the high volume of touches (23 per game over the last three weeks) and the superior offensive ecosystem of the Browns compared to the Vikings.

Insight page

Blake Corum

NegativeUsage47:46

Corum is viewed as having limited value in negative game scripts because he is not a reliable pass catcher. He is best suited for games where the Rams play with a lead, making him a risky start in a potential shootout against the Bills.

Insight page

Brenton Strange

PositiveProjection58:28

Brenton Strange is highlighted as a recommended touchdown pick for Week 5, with the expectation that the Jaguars' offense will have a highly productive day against the Eagles.

Insight page

Brian Robinson

NegativeUsage49:39

Robinson has a solid floor due to consistent carry volume (11, 10, and 14 in the last three games), but he lacks involvement as a pass catcher. He faces a tough matchup against the Ravens' run defense, which is allowing only 3.8 yards per carry to running backs.

Insight page

Brock Purdy

PositiveProjection54:01

Purdy is considered a high-end quarterback option who would be in tier one if not for the 'Purdy' label. He is playing more consistently than Joe Burrow and is a strong start despite a tough matchup against the Seahawks.

Insight page

C.J. Stroud

PositiveProjection17:31

Jake Seeley is bullish on Stroud, ranking him as his QB12 (four spots ahead of consensus) and projecting 300+ yards and multiple touchdowns against the Titans. Seeley prefers him over Jalen Hurts and other mid-tier quarterbacks due to the Texans' pass-heavy offensive scheme.

Insight page

Carnell Tate

PositiveValue57:35

Analysts are skeptical of Tate's breakout performance, citing a lack of trust in Cam Ward and the offense's consistency; he is ranked significantly lower than consensus.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

NegativeUsage55:06

Loveland is a low-end TE1 option who faces a difficult matchup against a Vikings defense that allows the sixth-fewest fantasy points to tight ends. He is coming off a slow start and is playing with a backup quarterback, though he has shown high-ceiling potential in previous matchups against the Packers.

Insight page

Deebo Samuel

PositiveUsage40:17

Samuel is preferred over Romeo Dobbs due to his 'Swiss Army knife' usage as both a receiver and runner, which makes him more matchup-resistant. He has scored three touchdowns in four games and consistently receives at least one carry per game, including three carries for 44 yards last week.

Insight page

Denzel Boston

PositiveBreakout46:58

Boston is highlighted as a budding star averaging 71 receiving yards per game. He is preferred over Tucker Kraft due to his big-play ability, which allows him to produce more efficiently on fewer targets.

Insight page

Deshaun Watson

PositiveProjection32:22

Despite skepticism, Watson is playing better than expected and the Browns' offense is clicking, making the team's pieces functional and fantasy-relevant.

Insight page

DK Metcalf

NegativeUsage42:46

Metcalf is a high-volume target (top 10 in the league) but faces a tough matchup against the Colts, who are strong against outside receivers. While he may be moved into the slot to avoid Sauce Gardner, he remains a boom-or-bust play that is best suited for managers who are underdogs.

Insight page

Harold Fannin

PositiveUsage58:36

Harold Fannin Jr. is a recommended tight end start for Week 5, having recorded three touchdown catches over his last two games. He has emerged as Deshaun Watson's primary target in the money zone.

Insight page

Jacoby Brissett

NegativeUsage51:54

Brissett is a popular streamer against the Lions, but there are concerns about his consistency and the loss of left tackle Paris Johnson to a torn biceps. While the matchup looks good on paper, the pass-rush threat from Detroit and the offensive line injury make him a risky start.

Insight page

Jayden Daniels

NegativeUsage51:54

Daniels is preferred over Jacoby Brissett due to his dual-threat ability, even coming off an elbow injury. He is viewed as the superior quarterback, though there is some concern regarding the potential absence of Terry McLaurin.

Insight page

Jaylen Waddle

PositiveUsage45:46

Waddle is preferred over DK Metcalf because he is expected to face a defense that spreads its coverage rather than focusing solely on him. He is viewed as a strong start, with the expectation that he will perform well if the Chargers' defense cannot isolate him.

Insight page

Jaylen Wright

NegativeUsage38:38

Wright is expected to see increased usage following comments from head coach Jeff Halfley. While he was out-snapped 22-12 and out-touched 11-5 by Ollie Gordon last week, his role is trending upward, creating uncertainty in the Dolphins' post-Devon Achane backfield.

Insight page

Jordan Addison

PositiveUsage47:46

Addison is a strong start if Justin Jefferson is out, with a projected top-20 finish. His matchup is considered favorable, though his status is currently clouded by a hamstring injury.

Insight page

Josh Downs

PositiveValue56:46

Despite a disappointing Week 4, Downs remains a key cog in the Colts' passing game, having recorded 20 targets in Weeks 2 and 3; he is a preferred start over Carnell Tate.

Insight page

Juwan Johnson

NegativeUsage55:06

Johnson is a low-end TE1 option who is slightly preferred in PPR formats. There is some hesitation regarding the reliability of backup quarterback Tyson Bagent, but Johnson remains a viable start in the current tight end landscape.

Insight page

Mike Gesicki

PositiveProjection8:26

Pat Fitzmaurice and Jake Seeley view Gesicki as a viable TE1 play if Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are out. Seeley ranks him as high as TE8 in that scenario, noting that Joe Burrow turns to him when the primary receivers are absent.

Insight page

Ollie Gordon II

PositiveUsage38:30

Despite concerns about a potential 50-50 split with Jalen Wright in a struggling Dolphins offense, Gordon is preferred over Tony Pollard this week. He showed decent production even when excluding a 53-yard run, though there is uncertainty regarding his standing relative to Wright following comments from head coach Jeff Halfley.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveValue57:37

Despite a recent down game, Parker Washington is a strong buy-low candidate. He is in a favorable spot against the Eagles, especially with Quinyon Mitchell sidelined, and is expected to bounce back with touchdown potential.

Insight page
PositiveValue57:41

Washington is identified as a 'buy-low' candidate following a single bad game. He is expected to bounce back, as he had been performing well through the first three weeks of the season.

Insight page

Quinshon Judkins

PositiveUsage26:49

Pat Fitzmaurice ranks Judkins slightly ahead of Aaron Jones, citing his increased pass-catching role (15 receptions already) and consistent workload of 18.5 touches per game. However, he notes concerns regarding the Vikings' offensive line injuries.

Insight page
NegativeUsage32:12

Judkins is averaging roughly three yards per carry, and while his usage consistency is a concern, his touchdown probability has improved to near 50-50 in any given game.

Insight page

RJ Harvey

PositiveValue42:18

Both analysts prefer starting RJ Harvey over both Ja'Kory Krosky Merritt and Omerian Hampton due to the messy situations in Washington and Los Angeles.

Insight page

Romeo Doubs

NegativeUsage40:17

Dobbs is viewed as a viable start against the Raiders, though there is skepticism regarding his weekly role in an ensemble New England receiving corps. While he saw nine targets last week, his target totals have been inconsistent (3, 4, 4, 9), and there is concern about Drake Maye's ability to handle pressure.

Insight page

Tony Pollard

NegativeUsage38:30

Pollard is considered a startable RB2, but there are concerns regarding the Titans' offense and the potential for Tyjae Spears to continue eating into his workload. While he has maintained consistent volume with 15, 21, and 18 touches over the last three games, he is ranked behind Ollie Gordon in some projections due to the offensive environment.

Insight page

Tucker Kraft

NegativeUsage46:58

Kraft is considered touchdown-reliant and is currently averaging 37 receiving yards per game. He is ranked behind Denzel Boston, who is seen as having more big-play potential in both PPR and non-PPR formats.

Insight page

Tyler Allgeier

PositiveUsage57:22

Tyler Allgeier continues to be a factor in the Falcons' backfield, successfully vulturing a touchdown against the Giants from long range.

Insight page

Will Shipley

NegativeValue3:24

Jake Seeley classifies Shipley as a desperate start rather than a preferred option, noting the Eagles' offensive line issues and a tough matchup against a Jaguars defense that historically stifles lead running backs. He is ranked as a high-end RB3 (low 20s) rather than an RB2.

Insight page
PositiveUsage6:45

Pat Fitzmaurice projects Shipley to see a baseline of 12 touches, with potential for up to 20, as the last man standing in the Eagles' backfield. He highlights Shipley's pass-catching ability as a potential asset against a Jaguars defense that has allowed the second-most receptions and receiving yards to running backs.

Insight page
PositiveUsage42:29

Shipley is projected for a solid floor of at least a dozen touches, making him a preferred flex option over DK Metcalf in most circumstances. While he hasn't fully proven himself as a workhorse, his touch certainty is valued over Metcalf's boom-or-bust profile.

Insight page
NegativeValue46:41

Shipley is ranked between Krosky Merritt and Hampton, with some preference over Hampton, though the overall offensive situation for the team is poor.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

NegativeProjection50:18

Flowers sees a higher target share (28.2%) without Lamar Jackson, but his yards per reception drops significantly (from 14.4 to 8.3), moving him from a WR1 to a WR2.

0:28Hello, everybody. Welcome into the FantasyPros - Fantasy Football Podcast.
0:30I'm Ryan Warmly, joined by Pat Fitzmaurice and Jake Seeley from The Athletic.
0:34And we are talking starts and sits here in week five.
0:37Fitz, we are a month into the season. How are you doing?
0:41Doing great. Excited about my Milwaukee Brewers having advanced to the National League Championship Series, but we're here to talk football, so we'll skip the baseball talk.
0:49I actually almost wore a Brewers shirt that I have for you today, Fitz, but I'm gonna save it for when they make the World Series.
0:56They're taking down the Dodgers. I am knocking on wood, crossing my fingers.
1:00I'm not betting on it because I'm not stupid, but I am hoping for it for sure.
1:05That's where my heart is for the rest of these playoffs.
1:08Jake, how you doing? I'm doing good. I'm enjoying the baseball playoffs.
1:12I have nothing to root for except for, yeah, please, no more Dodgers, but it'd be nice.
1:17It'd be nice to see at least if you guys can't do it, Fitz, just make sure the American League can take care of it.
1:24Yeah, I don't know about that. Yeah, I kind of feel like this is the World Series in the NLCS, which I
1:30know is what a lot of people are talking.
1:33Rays are good. They're good. I was about to say, why you guys be smirching the Rays?
1:38Come on. Mostly just because they're in the division of my favorite team.
1:42That's why I'm happy to besmirch them. Yes, as Fitz says, we're here to talk about football.
1:46We're gonna go through our typical Thursday show. We've got some starts, some sits, some waiver ads.
1:51Are we starting or sitting them? And then our touchdown calls.
1:55As always, reminder for everybody, as I always give, our weekly consensus rankings and tiers can be found at fantasypros.com slash rankings.
2:01Let's start off with the popular waiver ads of the week.
2:04And if you guys are willing to start or sit them right away, we'll start with Will Shipley, who felt like the
2:11biggest name, obviously, with the injuries going on in the Eagles backfield around him.
2:15You know, despite the fact that he has this opportunity here, it's a very different looking offensive line with after a trade and a retirement.
2:22It's going up against, you know, the Jacksonville defense, which is pretty good against the run.
2:27It's in London. A lot of stuff just goes broken with the Eagles offense right now, but it's an opportunity for starting running back.
2:33Jake, I'll start with you. Are you willing to start Will Shipley this week?
2:38Willing? I think the word should be desperate to start Will Shipley because I feel like that's where we are.
2:43I threw out this tweet earlier this week. Since week one of last year, the leading rusher for the opponents facing them, the highest is 74 rushing yards.
2:51That was 21 carries by Jonathan Taylor. Second highest, 70 rushing yards on 21 carries by Jonathan Taylor.
2:57You take out Jonathan Taylor, the next highest is 63.
3:00They have held the opponent's lead running back under 50 for the majority of those games.
3:04So this is I do not want to start running backs against the Jaguars in general, let alone Will Shipley, which I
3:11think will be volume reliant, which is why I have him as a low.
3:15Well, I was gonna say in the low 20s is a high end RB three low.
3:19Like he's not even a low end RB two because also like Damien Pierce, they did activate him.
3:25That's the one I expected to have happen. Damien Pierce, for whatever he's been, has still been, if you look at the
3:31numbers, actually more efficient than Will Shipley. There's not the biggest sample for Shipley, but all that being said, I don't want
3:37to start him, but there's a lot of people out there, including myself, who have Kenneth Walker on a buy or something
3:44like that and are kind of desperate and do need Shipley as your RB two.
3:48Yeah, he's ranked as RB 31 in the- No, I'm actually higher than- That's surprising.
3:52It might be because I have Kamara lower and I know I'm really low on Ja'Kory Krosky merit.
3:58So I think those are probably the two that are probably ranked in front.
4:02Those two are both ahead of Shipley. Okay, so there you go.
4:05Yeah, Fitz, what do you think? I mean, it's not like one you feel great about, but at the same time, he's
4:12ranked in a range where there will absolutely be managers out there who are forced to start him.
4:17Oh, definitely. And yeah, the Eagles offense is in a pretty bad way right now with all the injuries to the skill
4:23position guys and all the tumults on the offensive line.
4:26But you would think that Shipley probably has a baseline of 12 touches as the last man standing in that backfield.
4:32And I know it's going to be some Damian Pierce, too.
4:35I suspect that Shipley is going to get the majority of the snaps.
4:39And I think there's the potential for closer to 20 touches.
4:42I'm not sure if the Eagles get it going in the running game, as Jake pointed out, that the Jaguars have been fantastic against the run.
4:50That has not changed with Anthony Campanile as the defensive coordinator.
4:53But Shipley is a capable pass catcher, and the Jaguars have given up the second most catches and second most receiving yards to running backs.
5:00Yeah. Shipley was the big name this week. I did want to throw out a couple of the Bengals pass catchers.
5:06Mike Gesicki, Dante Myers, just given all the injuries going on.
5:10You know, Jamar Chase with the concussion coming off the last game.
5:13Tee Higgins with his groin issue. So between Gesicki and Myers, is there any interest here?
5:18Fitz, I'll start with you on this one in starting these guys.
5:21And in a very primo matchup against the Dolphins?
5:24There is. If both Chase and Higgins are out, I am going to have Gesicki just inside tight end one range at like tight end 11.
5:31And I'm going to have Dante Myers just outside the top 30 at wide receiver.
5:36Okay. Gesicki actually is tight end 10 right now.
5:38He was a little bit lower when I put the sheet together yesterday, but he's jumped up a bit here as we get into Thursday.
5:46So yeah, he is already inside that top 10 range in the consensus rankings.
5:50I'll pull up Myers here. Jake, what do you think about these two?
5:53Yeah, I'm more Gesicki than Myers. I would actually even go higher.
5:57Like I would, I referenced this to some people in my articles.
6:00I have Gesicki right now at 14 because I always go the other way.
6:04Like where would they rank if they play? So I ranked Chase and I ranked Higgins because that answers the question before people need to ask it.
6:12If they are both out, I would put Gesicki at eight in front of Juwan Johnson and in front of Dalton Kincaid
6:19and in front of Harold Fannin to give you an idea.
6:22Because he's already been the guy when one of them haven't been off the field.
6:26And I think that you really see Joe Burrow turn to him because the thing about Dante Myers, I would have him
6:33as a wide receiver three, not quite as high as Fitz, but still in that conversation.
6:37I know Zach Taylor was like, oh, he's like Jamar Chase.
6:40Get the hell out of here, Zach. The truth is, if you want a bangle to compare him to, former Andre Hawkins.
6:47If you want a current player to compare him to, Wandel Robinson.
6:50And that's really the truth. But the thing is, we saw Wandel Robinson last year with the Giants.
6:56It can work. He just needs volume and he can hit some of those big plays.
7:00That's why I think Wandel Robinson is a really good comparison.
7:03But you can also see how it could go wrong.
7:06Like if he only gets four targets and they did bring back Mitch Tinsley, who's familiar and actually got some work in that game last week.
7:14And I really do think that if both are out, they're just going to say, hey, we're facing the Dolphins.
7:20Let's lean on Chase Brown and Samajay Piran if you're desperate for a running back, by the way.
7:25And I think you see a lot out of the backfield with Gesicki also, like I said, taking a big step forward.
7:31We've seen this before, too, with Yoshivas when both of them have been out.
7:35But, you know, you get some of those games where it's like, oh, Yoshivas popped off.
7:40He was top 25. And he gets somewhere. It's like, OK, he was 45.
7:44So I think the bigger thing that I would come back with is that I feel like we're in the same range fits that I are on Myers.
7:52But that's going to be wrong. Either he's going to be much higher than that, like top 20, or he's going to be wide receiver like 40 something.
8:00And that basically that 30 to 35 ranking is just going to be wrong.
8:04So, Jake, one of the reasons I'm not inside the top 10 on Gesicki was actually because of a point you made,
8:11I think, on the Waiver Wire show this week that we're probably going to get an annoying number of targets and receptions
8:17for the other Bengals tight ends this week to Drew Sample, Tanner Hudson, maybe Eric All.
8:22So that I just I feel like a lot of people are going to be on Gesicki and I would not be
8:28shocked if he had like three targets and two catches.
8:31That's yeah, that's a fair point. I'm I'm thinking if Joe Burrow still throws touchdowns, they're probably going to get sick.
8:37Similar like if if you see Goddard back for the Eagles this week, he's like the red zone presence.
8:43So you're not wrong. But I'd be I'd be the sucker to chase it.
8:47We'll put it that way for sure. But if if the Mike Gesicki people are mad on Monday morning about the output,
8:53it's going to be because like those. Well, you're right.
8:56You're right. The last two games, three for 37 and three for 40 touchdown touchdown.
9:00If you take away the touchdown at either one of those games, you're angry about the Gesicki output.
9:06Yeah. You guys are roughly in line with Gesicki with consensus.
9:09Myers, you guys are actually had he's ranked as a wide receiver for his wide receiver 38 in consensus right now.
9:15He's sandwiched by the two Buffalo guys, Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman.
9:18He's actually two spots ahead of Marvin Harrison Jr., which is just hilarious to think about at this point.
9:24I mean, Harrison doesn't get the Detroit defense. That's too high for Harrison.
9:28So even against the Lions, you would you'd rather play Myers than Harrison?
9:31Jake, his snap count went down. It was one catch for a touchdown against the giant secondary.
9:36Like what? What are we doing? Yeah, I guess I like I actually think I could toss this one as in.
9:42I know it's you're the host, but I want to toss this to Fitz.
9:46It's like I'm looking at my ranks on the other side.
9:50I think I would still start Malik Washington over Dante Myers, but that's the range that I put him in like the valet Malik Washington.
9:57But I think I would still start Malik Washington.
9:59I'm kind of curious where Fitz would land. I've got Malik Washington ranked ahead.
10:04But that is right now. My assumption is Higgins plays and Chase doesn't because I thought I thought we'd gotten a report
10:10Higgins practiced on a limited basis Wednesday. But then I thought maybe I saw later that he didn't actually practice.
10:16He didn't. Yeah, that was. So, yeah, if both of those guys are out, I will probably vault Dante Myers past Malik Washington.
10:22Like Malik Washington, some of the target share and area share numbers are great, but they're averaging 25.2 pass attempts a game.
10:29Second fewest in the NFL. So area yards and target share doesn't mean as much when you're such a low volume passing attack.
10:35The are they playing tool on fantasypros.com. Chase has a 20% chance to play Higgins 68%.
10:40But that is like keep an eye on that after the Thursday practice stuff because that I think will make a pretty
10:46big difference in what those numbers look like. Let's go to our plant your flag segment here.
10:51Jake, I'll start with you. Who are you planting your flag on this week?
10:55I thought this was going to be like pretty common to have him as a QB one this week.
11:01And then I saw it and I'm like, oh, I guess I'm on a limb here.
11:06So I guess I'll plant my flag. And CJ Stroud.
11:09And like we're talking about one of the past happiest offenses in the league for good reason.
11:13The backfield just stinks. And I know the Titans defense has been good.
11:17It's finally kind of like I saw a report yesterday talking about how solid defenses takes a while to get the grasp.
11:24And once it does is where it becomes fearsome.
11:26But at the same time, it's like I'm still not that scared, especially in the passing department.
11:31Maybe I should be. But CJ Stroud was already producing without Nico Collins, was producing with Nico Collins, continues to throw a ton, averaging 300 some odd yards.
11:39A game. A game. I just I don't see how like I'm looking at this list and right behind him.
11:45Like I don't want to play Shuck going against Brian Flores in that defense.
11:49I don't. I'm not playing Jalen Hurts at this point.
11:52And with that offensive line on top of it, like the tush push isn't even working well for them.
11:58And now we're dying on to the like the Kyler Murray, Bo Nix, Sam Darnold range.
12:02I'm just like I'm playing CJ Stroud over all of these guys.
12:06So I was actually surprised to see that I was so far ahead.
12:09Like I am a 12 and that's three ahead of consensus.
12:13I was actually surprised by that. So I guess that's where I'm planting my flag is that I think CJ Stroud is
12:19going to go out there and throw 300 yards and two plus touchdowns again.
12:23It's actually four ahead of consensus. Stroud is at 16 right now.
12:27Yeah. Fitz, for you, is that too high, too low or just right?
12:30I'm at 13. And probably the only guy I have him behind who it sounds like Jake has Stroud ahead of is Jalen Hurts.
12:37And I don't know if I feel great about having Hurts higher than Stroud.
12:41Yeah, they're back to back in consensus. Those two.
12:44Yeah. I mean, the Titans defense before Lamar went out was getting absolutely shredded last week.
12:49I thought Stroud looked great last week. Nico back.
12:51I'm willing, you know, in a in a one QB league, maybe I'm not quite as bullish as Jake, but I'm like
12:58definitely willing to start him if I need it.
13:00And in a super flex, I'm feeling really good if he's my QB two this week.
13:05I think he's a great play. Fitz, who is your player flag player?
13:09It's Travion Henderson. Ramondre Stevenson went down awkwardly in the final minute of the Patriots win over the Bills last week.
13:15I'm no doctor, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.
13:19It looked like it could have been a high ankle sprain or a sprained MCL.
13:23Ramondre supposedly got in a limited practice on Wednesday, but it seems like there's a real question about his availability on Sunday.
13:29And if he's out and Travion Henderson gets all the work, well, when Stevenson missed three games last season, Henderson had 330
13:36yards from scrimmage and five touchdowns over those three games.
13:39He was RB three and fantasy scoring over that stretch.
13:41And even if Stevenson is able to play, pretty good bet that Henderson leads the New England backfield and touches against the Raiders because of the Stevenson injury.
13:50And I am betting on Henderson to pop this week.
13:52Right now, I've got him just outside the top 20s at RB 21, Stevenson RB 28.
13:57But if Stevenson is scratched, I'm going to have Henderson well inside the top 20.
14:01Yeah, I think it was that he was expected to not practice, but then actually did get listed as a limited participant
14:08eventually, I think to the surprise of the people covering the team.
14:11I'm not really sure what that's going to look like the rest of the week.
14:16I mean, based on our tool, if a guy gets a limited practice in on Wednesday, it thinks there's a pretty good chance of him playing.
14:23So right now, our site has Stevenson as very likely to play.
14:27But again, this is another one where you want to keep an eye on that.
14:31This practice reports over the next couple of days.
14:34Jake, where are you at on Travion Henderson if Ramondre were to play and also if Ramondre were not to play?
14:40So yeah, I have Henderson in the 20s right now with Stevenson in the rankings.
14:44If there is no Stevenson, I also referenced this in the article.
14:48I even said if there's no Ramondre Stevenson, Henderson will be an RB 1.
14:52I'd put him up there. I'd play him in front of DeAndre Swift even going against the Packers because they don't need to force the issue with Swift.
15:00I'm not even considering the fumble and then he barely was on the field after that, if at all.
15:05Because part of it was he was banged up heading into that game.
15:09But to give you an idea, I bring that up because I have Swift at 12 and I would play Henderson in
15:15front of him with no Stevenson because we've seen how much – like you're talking about bell cow workload for Henderson.
15:22Like how do you turn your nose up at that?
15:24Yeah, if Stevenson's out, it's pretty exciting to have Henderson on the roster.
15:28Before we get to the next segment, I need to tell you about this new prediction market called Polymarket.

15:48They're giving you a free $25 when you first trade your deposit of just $10.
15:53Now they've launched a new feature, Squads, a group chat where you can see what everyone is trading on.
15:58So download the Polymarket app today and use FPPOD when you sign up.
16:02That's FPPOD to get $25 free after you deposit just $10.
16:05All right, guys, let's get to our first running back debate here.
16:09How about Quinshon Judkins versus Aaron Jones? I'll pull up the rankings here to see if there's been any update.
16:14They were very close when I put this together.
16:17Jones is currently at RB13, Judkins at RB16. So if you're making that decision, Fitz, who do you prefer, Aaron Jones or Quinshawn Judkins?
16:24I actually have Judkins ranked one spot higher. And I think workload is the appeal for both guys.
16:29With Jordan Mason on injured reserve, Aaron Jones has averaged 23 touches a game and 108 scrimmage yards per game over the
16:36last three weeks, although he has not scored a touchdown.
16:38Judkins is averaging 18.5 touches a game this season.
16:41He's had 20 and 23 touches the last two weeks.
16:44But the new wrinkle for Judkins, which I appreciate, is his pass catching.
16:48He's already got 15 receptions this season. He had 26 receptions all of last year in 14 games.
16:53Both guys have pretty good matchups this week. Jones gets the Saints, who've given up the most rushing yards and fantasy points to running backs.
17:00And it seemed like they gave up about 500 fantasy points to the Falcons backs last week.
17:05Judkins gets the Jets. They've given up the sixth most fantasy points, fourth most rushing yards to running backs.
17:11The reason I have Judkins ranked higher is that the Vikings might be without two key offensive linemen.
17:16They're definitely going to be without left guard Donovan Jackson, who just went on IR with a torn meniscus.
17:21And it looks like they could be without left tackle Christian Derrissaw, who has a concussion.
17:26Jake, what do you think? I was actually a little surprised.
17:29The fact that not that they're close, that you just had them ahead.
17:33I'm going Aaron Jones mostly just because I think if you look at these matchups, they're both top five, in my opinion.
17:39The Saints and the Jets for the run defense.
17:42And I get what you're saying about the offensive line concerns.
17:45And maybe that's enough that people will agree with you and push the Judkins.
17:49I just look at the ecosystem of the offenses, and I just trust the Vikings more.
17:54I know that it's been shaky because of the quarterback situation and Conor, all that type of stuff.
17:59But you brought it up. The touches for Aaron Jones are just gift.
18:03And I look at the inconsistency with Judkins in the receiving game, and that's my concern.
18:08It's like, is this going to be a week where he does get the five, six, seven targets?
18:13Or is this going to be like two weeks ago, just two weeks ago, and week one where it was like two?
18:19So it's just that volatility. I have a little bit of a gap.
18:23I think it's like four spots from Aaron Jones to Judkins.
18:26But they're in the same conversation where this isn't one where I'm going to be like, oh, I need to watch this
18:32and see if I can joke with Fitz and be like, ha-ha, you were wrong on it.
18:37I feel like you're in a decent spot if either one of them, you're RB2 this week.
18:42Some of the names that these guys are ranked around in the consensus rankings this week, DeAndre Swift, Bashel Tootin, Jeremiah Love, Emmanuel Wilson.
18:49Jake, do those names sound like about the right range for Jones and Judkins?
18:53Or are there guys you like a lot better there?
18:56No, and that's the point. I think that the fact that they are both in the conversation with those names, I'd even
19:03throw Braylon Allen on the other side of that.
19:05And Gentey against the Patriots defense and not knowing if he's still 100%.
19:09He says he's getting there or might be or whatever.
19:12But all those names, I think that's the biggest takeaway from this is you should feel good about both because they're in the conversation with those guys.
19:20Yeah. Is it crazy to think maybe the Browns offense is just better than the Vikings offense, though?
19:25I mean, right now, EPA per play, Browns 18th, Vikings 27th.
19:28They have been better this season. The consistency of usage is my concern.
19:32That's all it is. And I think like Judkins is, is he even averaging three yards a carry at this point still?
19:38I think he's right at three. So like, again, you're not wrong.
19:42Like the overall offense, like, you know, I know people don't want to like give any credit to Deshaun Watson, but like
19:48the player is playing better than anybody thought it would.
19:51And like the offense is clicking the offense. This entire team is playing worlds better than anybody thought it would.
19:57The thing is, it used to be like you kind of needed a touchdown from Quinshawn Judkins to have him pop for you.
20:04But there were like terrible odds of him getting a touchdown in any given game.
20:08And now I think they're actually respectable. Only has one got his first touchdown last week against the Steelers.
20:13But I think there's at least, yeah, something close to a 50-50 chance in any given game.
20:18Do you guys think that Deshaun Watson specifically, but then by extension, the offense is going to come crashing down at some point this season?
20:26Or have you seen enough to be like, hey, we'll be at least competent throughout 2026?
20:30Or do you feel like you're playing with fire here, Fitz?
20:33Well, if Watson comes crashing down, they're going to put in Shadour Sanders.
20:37And I think he can prop it back up again to at least just respectable levels.
20:42I mean, Shadour's not going to go out there and play like Josh Allen.
20:46But he can, I think between the two of those guys, they're going to have enough to make Denzel Boston, Harold Fannin, Casey Concepcion go.
20:53And I think that's just what everyone is hoping for.
20:56They know they're not going to get sterling quarterback play from the Browns.
21:00Just give us enough to make the pieces of that offense functional and fantasy relevant.
21:04By Monday night, the advice is in, your lineups are locked, and all you can do is watch.
21:09Maybe you're protecting a one-point lead. Maybe you need 12 out of your flex.
21:14Or maybe your opponent has one kicker left and now every field goal attempt feels personal.
21:18Make one part of the night perfect. Get DiGiorno pizza ready for kickoff.
21:22Then settle in, enjoy restaurant-quality pizza from your own oven, and stay locked into the matchup through the final snap.
21:28You don't want to step away when one target, one touchdown, or one unnecessary point can decide your week.
21:33Buy DiGiorno pizza on the weekend run so you at least know Monday night dinner is covered.
21:38Rankings can guide you. Waivers can save you. But once the game starts, fantasy brings the chaos.
21:43Dinner doesn't have to. It's not delivery. It's DiGiorno.

22:05Okay, Chicken Nugget fans, I've got huge news. The new Burger King Chicken Nuggets just dropped, and they are the crispiest, the
22:12juiciest, and the tastiest chicken nuggets ever at Burger King.
22:14Burger King heard that a lot of you didn't like the old chicken nuggets, so they got to work and reinvented them.
22:21To go along with the new chicken nuggets, a lot of the sauces were reinvented too, because better chicken nuggets deserve better sauces.
22:28We're talking new buffalo sauce, honey mustard, sweet and sour, and even a whole new option too.
22:32The new special savory sauce, which is only available for a limited time at participating U.S.
22:37restaurants. I mean, you need to taste it all for yourself.
22:40This new chicken nugget, reinvented based on real feedback, is made with 100% white meat chicken, and is now better than ever.
22:47You gotta try the new Burger King Chicken Nuggets and sauces today.
22:50Yeah. Jake, let's go to our next running back debate.
22:53You already mentioned this guy, Ja'Kory Krosky Merritt. I've got him up against Omerian Hampton for you.
22:58They are back-to-back in ECR. They are the last two RB2s in the rankings, RB23 and 24.
23:03Bill Krosky-Merritt is the guy who is one spot ahead.
23:06You mentioned being pretty low on him this week.
23:08Do you like him better than Omerian Hampton, or do you like Hampton?
23:12Not even close. Like, I want nothing to do with this commander's backfield.
23:16I've said it time and again. I had him in the drops for waivers last week, and then no Rashad White.
23:22And I'm like, oh, I guess I have to put Krosky-Merritt in the RB20s.
23:26And that was the wrong call. It's just stuck with, like, just don't play him.
23:30Because the backfield's a mess, and I know they get Jaden Daniels back, and I know nobody expected Zach Galifianakis to be a quarterback.
23:37And yes, I said that because I'm not messing with the other name.
23:41It was a Kali-F. Are you supposed to pronounce the K or not?
23:45I believe it's A-thing Kaliak-Manus. Kaliak-Manus. Is that Kaliak-Manus?
23:48So you do pronounce it? Because I keep hearing it differently.
23:51Like, some people say Kali-Manus, and some people say Kaliak-Manus.
23:54I pulled up on the old Minnesota College website.
23:56He pronounces it for you on his, like, bio page.
23:59Oh, does he? That's how he says it. That's actually how I found out about it.
24:04Unless it's changed or something. Big 10 guys like Worm and I know about these things, Jay.
24:09Yeah. Back in the day when Tariq Cohen came out of college, everybody was like, is it Tariq or Tariq?
24:15And I found a clip of his mom saying his name.
24:18He was saying Tariq. Yeah. And it's like this.
24:20I used to get yelled at in the comments for saying Tonga Vailoa for Tua.
24:25And I was like, guys, I'm a Maryland guy.
24:27I watch his little brother on my TV every single week.
24:31I know how to pronounce his family's last name.
24:33Well, no, because I'm not with you on that one.
24:36Because that's the same as Krzyzewski. Krzyzewski. You can't tell me that's how your last name is pronounced.
24:41You can't just add pronunciations to letters that aren't even there.
24:44Stop. But anyway, so we go to this. The whole point here is that now they have Austin Eckler in the mix,
24:51which we already saw last week and still has something left.
24:54But it's just, it's a mess. Even Katron Allen is still being involved.
24:58And I don't expect him to be involved this week.
25:01Rashad White is healthy. And it's not like, you know, losing Brian Burns is a massive death knell to the offense as a whole.
25:08But it's still quality enough that it's like, oh, I'm not just going to smash Krzyzewski into my lineup.
25:13I know it's been gross for the Chargers. I know they're down 15 offensive linemen.
25:18Like, it's just everything was going to be fine this year.
25:21Slater and Alt out again. And the other one that has the concussion on top of it.
25:26So you look at a penny. And so this entire offensive line is a mess.
25:30The entire offense is a mess. I'm still going to take Hampton.
25:33I don't want to, this is another one. I don't want to start either of them.
25:38Like, I'd rather, if I had the choice and I could say put in RJ Harvey, I'd put in RJ Harvey over both.
25:45Over both. He's good. Okay. He's ranked a few spots behind in ECR.
25:49He's at RB 27. Again, these guys are 23 and 24, respectively.
25:52Fitz, yeah, Jake did mention, like, obviously it's kind of a gross situation for both of them.
25:57Jane Daniels is coming back for the commanders. They sort of made that more official this morning, this week.
26:03So, do you create Krosky Merritt or Marion Hampton?
26:05Who do you prefer? It's Krosky Merritt for me.
26:08And it's kind of a big gap, actually, for me also.
26:11So Jake and I are far apart on this one.
26:14Jaden Daniels, his return is part of that. I think that boosts the touchdown odds for Ja'Kory Krosky Merritt.
26:19I was disappointed, certainly, that Ja'Kory Krosky Merritt didn't have a better game against the Colts and their terrible run defense last week.
26:26Nine carries for 15 yards. Although he did have a season-high 35 receiving yards, did Bill.
26:31He's averaging about 15 touches a game. And the Giants' run defense might not be the pushover that it was last year,
26:37but Jake mentioned they just lost Brian Burns. It's no worse than a neutral matchup.
26:41Probably a good one for Bill. Um, O'Marion Hampton is a committee back now.
26:45Like, Keaton Mitchell led the Chargers running backs with 26 snaps last week against the Seahawks.
26:50Hampton and Kamani Vidal both played 25. It was nearly one-third, one-third, one-third.
26:54Mitchell had the most touches, 15. Hampton had 11.
26:56Nine carries, 45 yards. Got the touchdown, which kind of salvaged his fantasy day.
27:01Two catches for eight yards. And right now, the Chargers offensive line, every bit as much of a train wreck as the Commanders offensive line.
27:08Left tackle for Sean Slater, high ankle sprain, he's out for sure.
27:11Joe Ault, the right tackle, neck injury, not sure about his status.
27:15And once again, the middle of the Chargers offensive line, really bad, just like it was last year.
27:20So, I prefer Bill. I just think better matchup, Giants versus Broncos.
27:23Giants are the softer matchup. And I feel a little bit more certain about Bill's usage.
27:28Where did you rank them? I've got Bill 24, RB 24.
27:31We're not that far apart. I've got Hampton 31.
27:34Okay. So, Hampton's pretty low for you. Hampton or like, you know, RJ Harvey, like he said, it sounds like you'd prefer Harvey fifths.
27:41Yeah, I would. Let's see. Yeah, I've got Harvey 25.
27:44So, and I, Jake might have a good point about Harvey versus JCM.
27:48Right now, I've got Krosky Mare two spots higher, but I'd have to think long and hard about that if I had that to learn.
27:55Well, here's the real one. How about Will Shipley versus American Hampton?
27:58That's exactly what I was just about to say that, Jake.
28:01I have Shipley between Bill and Hampton. I'd start Shipley over Hampton.
28:05Yes. Wow. I don't hate it because the biggest issue is that Hampton doesn't fit Mike McDaniel's offense very well.
28:11He needs to be more power. And the one thing I will say is I saw, I forget who said it, that
28:17floated out there, that there's been interviews where Harbaugh is starting to make it sound like alluding to that he might step in a little bit with McDaniel.
28:25And if that's the case, maybe there's hope left for Hampton.
28:28But this was never like the Hampton fit with McDaniel was never the best.
28:33And I don't think anybody, myself excluded, didn't expect it to be this bad, though.
28:37I think Hampton has a better chance of getting a touchdown this week than Will Shipley.
28:42And that's why I would prefer Hampton. Like, Shipley, like, again, such a tough matchup.
28:46They have to travel across the ocean. It's a really, like, retooled offensive line.
28:50It's a non-functioning offense right now. I just, like, I really would like to get away from Shipley if it's at all possible.
28:57And maybe Hampton gets a, you know, close carry and gets in.
29:00That's the hope. I don't feel great about either.
29:03But let's go to some wide receiver debates here.
29:05The first one I'm throwing out might sound interesting.
29:08It's obviously based a bit on the quarterback health.
29:11Zay Flowers versus Christian Watson. And Flowers, of course, has been amazing this season.
29:15One of the best receivers in football when he's been on the field.
29:18But Lamar, I think, is unlikely to play this week.
29:21They're still sort of holding out hope and not ruling him out as of when we're taping this morning.
29:27But you talk to some people and they're like, oh, it's like day-to-day.
29:31Let's see what the practice looks like on Thursday.
29:33And then you talk to other people and they're like, this is like probably a multi-week injury.
29:38So I lean towards thinking that they're not going to play him, especially coming up.
29:42They have a divisional game against the currently tied for first place Browns next week.
29:47So I would imagine they would want to do their best to get Lamar ready for that and not push him against
29:53an NFC opponent, even though it's on Sunday Night Football.
29:56Having said all that, if it's Tyler, if it's Lamar Jackson, of course, we're playing Zay Flowers.
30:01If it's Tyler Huntley, how far down the rankings are you guys looking to move Zay Flowers into that range against Christian Watson is where I'm asking it.
30:09Jake, I'll start with you. Who do you prefer here if it's Tyler Huntley, a quarterback?
30:14Yeah, so my ranks do have Tyler Huntley in and I'm not counting on Lamar Jackson.
30:18So without Lamar Jackson, Zay Flowers has actually been targeted on 28.2% of his routes compared to 23.5% with Lamar Jackson.
30:25But as the great person would say, not so fast, my friends, because the difference is the yards per reception with Lamar Jackson, 14.4%.
30:31With anybody else, 8.3%. That's over six yards per reception difference.
30:35I'm still starting Zay Flowers as a wide receiver too, but that's all you need to know is that he's a wide
30:41receiver too and not a wide receiver one. He is three spots behind Christian Watson, assuming Tyler Huntley is that quarterback.
30:47I would actually even play Adams and a healthy Justin Jefferson in front of him, which might sound might actually happen this week.
30:54Just because it's a huge, huge efficiency loss for Zay Flowers with Tyler Huntley.
30:58Yeah, you are lower than consensus, Jake. He's wide receiver nine right now in ECR.
31:02And if it was Lamar Jackson, like absolutely. No question about it.
31:06You could argue that's low with Lamar Jackson. With Lamar, I would argue that's low, even though there's other really good receivers.
31:12Like he's just been so amazing. But yeah, without him, it's night and day.
31:16The offense is night and day. Like I'll give you a comparison.
31:20Totally capable backup. Sorry to jump back in. The Zay Flowers, like I'm struggling Malik Neighbors versus Zay Flowers versus Parker Washington with Tyler Huntley.
31:27And I think I might feel a little bit better about Malik Neighbors and Parker Washington because also they don't have Quinion Mitchell this week anyway.
31:34Those guys are wide receiver 12 and 14, respectively.
31:37So in that same range, you're talking about Devante Adams, too, as, you know, kind of where you're ranking Flowers with Huntley in there.
31:44Fitz, what do you think about this one? Flowers and Watson, both top 10 in an ECR right now.
31:50But again, the question mark with Zay. I've got Zay ranked a little higher.
31:54He is the focal point of the Ravens offense.
31:56And, you know, I realize that maybe it's a slight drop off with former Pro Bowl quarterback Tyler Huntley in instead of Lamar Jackson.
32:03No, it's a drop off for sure. But yeah, I mean, it diminishes the outlook a little bit.
32:08But Tyler Huntley can throw a spiral. Like he's he's going to do enough to get Zay Flowers across the finish line for fantasy, I believe.
32:16So I have a smidge ahead of Christian Watson.
32:19I Tyler Huntley, I felt like was a better backup fit for Lamar in the Todd Munkin and Greg Roman offenses.
32:25I don't know that he does the things as well as Lamar that have made Lamar so special in the Declan Doyle
32:31offense, like throwing over the middle and the under center stuff.
32:34So I'm a little nervous about that from the Ravens offensive perspective that Tyler Huntley is a in a vacuum capable quarterback,
32:41but maybe not as strong of a fit with Declan Doyle.
32:44He also came in in the second half very cold against the Titans.
32:48He said that he didn't even realize he was starting the second half until like two minutes beforehand, basically like right when it was getting kicked off.
32:55So he was like, you know, this wasn't something he was mentally preparing for all week like he is going to be this week.
33:02So I'm hoping that they would adapt to his skill set and continue to find ways to put Zay Flowers in positions to succeed.
33:09But it does make me nervous, at least when he's ranked inside the top 10, you know, just given how much of
33:16a drop off it is a quarterback with how good Lamar has been.
33:19So I wanted to make sure to ask about him, even though in every other week this season when he's been healthy,
33:26he's been pretty much a no brainer start. So what did you say you actually have him ranked fifths?
33:31I know you said he's higher than Watson for you, but where actually is he ranked?
33:36Wide receiver eight. Eight. Eight. OK, so you're actually even ahead of consensus then.
33:40So you're very, very on board with Zay. Let's go to another wide receiver debate here.
33:45Josh Downs or Carnell Tate? Tate coming off of a great game against the Ravens.
33:49Downs, obviously somebody who's had some opportunity this year.
33:52These guys are ranked close to each other. Last I looked, let me double check where they are right now.
33:58Josh Downs, wide receiver 25. Carnell Tate actually moved up a bit.
34:01He's wide receiver 21. Fitz, I'll start with you here.
34:04Who do you prefer, Carnell Tate or Josh Downs?
34:06I've actually got Downs ranked higher. And I know Downs is coming off a disappointing game against the Commanders.
34:12Three catches, 16 yards on four targets. And I know a lot of people are going to want to abandon Josh Downs because of that performance.
34:20Pittsburgh defense, not necessarily a great matchup for Josh Downs.
34:22The Steelers have given up the sixth most fantasy points to outside receivers.
34:26The ninth fewest fantasy points to slot receivers, according to fantasy points data.
34:30But Downs, he did have 20 targets in weeks two and three, 12 catches in weeks two and three.
34:36He's just such an important cog in the Colts passing game.
34:39And Carnell Tate hit the big breakout game last week.
34:42Nine catches, 145 yards, 12 targets against the Ravens.
34:44This is a Texans defense that surprisingly has given up the most fantasy points to wide receivers.
34:49I still find it really hard to trust Kim Ward to make it happen for Tate on a consistent basis.
34:55I'm certainly willing to come around on that. But my stance right now is basically that was a neat trick.
35:01Do it again. Jake, are you viewing this Houston defense as a particularly difficult matchup for Carnell Tate?
35:06Or like just kind of giving any weight to the preseason expectations?
35:09And, you know, in doing that saying, well, listen, they face the Bills and Bengals and Cowboys.
35:14And that's part of why those numbers look so bad.
35:17Or are you adjusting those expectations for the defense moving forward?
35:20And maybe not viewing it as that tricky of a matchup for Tate?
35:24A little bit of both. Like, I don't think they're the dog worst wide receiver matchup as in like they're just been getting waxed.
35:31I don't think that's going to continue. Demecker Ryan said he's taking back over play calls.
35:36He's frustrated. I don't think anybody expected it to be this bad.
35:39This was a fantasy defense. People were drafting as a top three fantasy defense.
35:43So I think that we'll see better part of it, like you said, was the matchups.
35:48For what Fitz said actually to argue with him for Josh Downs, let's also look, talk about who people have faced.
35:54The Steelers. Well, week one, Drake London did nothing.
35:57Like, just throw out week one. But I want to talk about specifically the outside versus the inside receivers versus them.
36:03Week two, Dobbs on the outside of the biggest game.
36:06It was the Patriots over the slot receiver. Week three, the Bengals.
36:09Oh, Tee Higgins, Jamar Chase outside. Nobody cares about the slot receiver.
36:13Week four, Denzel Boston. But oh, by the way, Casey Concepcion, eight targets, five receptions, 64 yards.
36:18So they're not like, it's not so much that like, oh, they just get destroyed outside and dominate everybody over the middle.
36:24Part of it's who they face too and what the abilities of the offenses they're facing.
36:29So I'm with him. I'm on the Josh Downs train because the other part of it, too, is like, which do I believe more?
36:36Do I believe the Houston, Texas defense is terrible or do I believe that Cam Ward is finally good?
36:41I'm probably going to lean like less so than the fact that the Texas defense is this bad.
36:46I'm with Fitz. I want to see it again.
36:49And I'm way behind consensus on Cardinal Tate. I just don't trust Cam Ward.
36:53I don't trust that offense. I still think it needs more time coming off one game where like, yeah, this is the Cardinal Tate.
37:00I feel like that was more of Cardinal Tate doing the max effort that he can with what Cam Ward was doing
37:06than it was Cam Ward really helping Tate finally beat Tate.
37:10So I'm going Josh Downs. I'm going Josh Downs for a bounce back this week.
37:14Where do you have Cardinal Tate, Jake? Apparently, I hate Cardinal Tate in his entire life because that's all anybody keeps saying
37:20to me is like, why do you hate Cardinal Tate?
37:23I have him at 32. I'm behind Denzel Boston.
37:26Behind Denzel Boston. And that's the thing. He's behind Boston, Adunze, Downs, Diggs, which potentially no Terry McLaurin, Burden, Dobbs, Metcalf, Waddle.
37:32Like, I just I don't I'm not starting Tate over any of those names.
37:36And maybe I'm wrong, but like those names, I trust more than one game of Cardinal Tate.
37:41Yeah, you are definitely I'm not saying you do hate him, but you are significantly lower than.
37:46I also, to be fair, he was he's inherently going to move up three spots if there's no Chase Higgins and McLaurin
37:53because I have all of them in my rankings.
37:55So sure, there's some room to get higher, too.
37:58That's a good point to note that context. All right.

38:14Get started at fantasypros.com slash start set. All right, guys, we've got some more quicker start set decisions we'll move through.
38:20We usually call this rapid fire. We have a little time to work through.
38:24We don't have to like literally lightning around this thing, but we'll start off with another running back one.
38:30How about Tony Pollard or Ollie Gordon this week, Jake?
38:33Can I can I recuse myself from this nonsense?
38:35I will. We talked about on the waiver show.
38:38Jalen Wright got the first touches. Ollie Gordon did have a good game.
38:42Even if you erase the 53 yard run, still decent production on the touches that he had.
38:46I am saying that because I am worried about Jalen Wright.
38:50I still think this could be a 50-50 split in a bad offense, but I'm starting Gordon over Tony Pollard.
38:55Again, I don't necessarily believe the Titans offense. The Houston Texans run defense is at least still good, unlike their pass defense.
39:02And if you start getting a little bit more pass happy, we still see Spears sprinkled in.
39:07So I'm going Gordon over Pollard, but they're both in tier four running backs.
39:11Like they're in the names of like J.K. Dobbins.
39:13Like I don't want to start these guys, but I know we're already in buys and so many injuries you might have to.
39:20They're RB 26 and RB 28 respectively in consensus right now.
39:23Fitz, what do you think? Yeah, I'm kind of where consensus is and I have Pollard just a little bit higher.
39:29I just trust the volume more with Pollard. He has had in the Titans last three games, 15, 21 and 18 touches.
39:36So he is clearly the Titans lead guy. And it's the same thing Jake said.
39:40I don't fully trust that Ollie Gordon is squarely ahead of Jalen Wright in the post-Devon H& Miami backfield.
39:46And Dolphins head coach Jeff Halfley said this week that Wright is going to get more work.
39:51Now, I don't know what that means. It doesn't mean more than Gordon.
39:54Maybe not, but more than he had last week when he got what out snapped like 22 to 12 and out touched 11 to 5.
40:02So I just I also worry about the matchup for Gordon, who's primarily an inside runner and the Dolphins playing the Bengals with Dexter Lawrence in the middle.
40:10I think it's generally easier to run outside against the Bengals.
40:13And maybe that's more of a Jalen Wright strength than a Ollie Gordon strength.
40:17Wide receiver here, Debo Samuel or Romeo Dobbs? Jake, I'll start with you again.
40:21Samuel or Dobbs this week? I have intrigue for both of them.
40:25I go Dobbs slightly just because Debo Samuel strangely has been like doing a lot with very little and also gets the Seahawks.
40:31Like that's really what it just comes down to.
40:34Like I don't want to start any wide receiver against the Seahawks unless I absolutely have to.
40:39So I would go Dobbs who's, you know, been the one and may turn it around.
40:43I will say I do have slight concerns about Drake May.
40:47I am not fully 100% back on board. Looked confident.
40:50Yes. But the biggest issue that he had for the first three weeks is that teams were getting pressure on him without sending extra defenders.
40:57And that's what he was struggling with so much as five, six dropping to the coverage pressure in his face.
41:03Because the Raiders can do that too. So that's like, I don't want, it's crazy to say this in week five, but
41:09like this is going to be my baseline of if I trust Drake May again is if he can do it against the Raiders defense.
41:16But all that being said, like I'd rather go Dobbs versus the Raiders defense than Debo Samuel against the Seahawks.
41:22Dobbs is wide receiver 24. Debo is wide receiver 26.
41:25Fitz, who do you prefer? I prefer Debo. I don't have any stats to back this up, but I feel like Debo's
41:31Swiss Army knife usage makes him maybe a little more matchup resistant than some other wide receivers.
41:36So Debo scored three touchdowns in four games. They're using him as both a receiver and a runner.
41:41Kyle Shanahan has given him at least one carry in every game.
41:45And last week, Debo had three carries for 44 yards against the Broncos.
41:49He's had a five catch game and a six catch game so far this season.
41:53Whereas with Dobbs, I just don't know what his role is going to be in any given week.
41:58No A.J. Brown. And it's just an ensemble cast of pass catchers in New England and Dobbs weekly total target totals so far this season.
42:06Three, four, four, nine last week. And I know he got the two touchdowns last week.
42:10I'm just I'm not chasing that. I think I prefer the more consistent involvement of Debo.
42:15Yeah, Debro was all over the matchup for Dobbs and the defense he was going up against as like a particularly friendly matchup.
42:22So he was very spot on about that with Dobbs last week.
42:25And, you know, you wonder how that'll pan out with this week's matchup.
42:29Let's go to some flex questions here. I would do want to throw on here with Will Shipley because I think given
42:35where he's ranked, it's possible people are playing him at running back.
42:39But it's also possible people are thinking about playing him in the flex.
42:42How about Will Shipley versus DK Metcalf fits? This is tough.
42:46I'm I'm going to go with Shipley for the relative touch certainty that that I think he's going to get a dozen touches guaranteed, maybe a lot more.
42:54Whereas Metcalf going against the Colts now, their outside receiver slot receiver disparity is a little more trustworthy maybe than the Steelers.
43:00Colts have been really good against outside receivers, largely because they've got Sauce Gardner in coverage against some of those outside guys.
43:06So that would seem bad for DK Metcalf, but the Steelers did move DK Metcalf into the slot quite a bit last
43:13week against the Browns to get him out of Denzel Ward's coverage.
43:16And he did some damage against the Browns other cornerbacks.
43:19Five catches for Metcalf, 115 yards in that game.
43:22Maybe the Steelers do the same thing to get Metcalf out of Sauce Gardner's coverage.
43:26But I'm still going to go Shipley here. If I was a clear underdog, I might roll the dice with Metcalf just
43:33because it's easier to lean into a player with a boom or bust profile when you're an underdog.
43:38But under most circumstances, I think I'd play Shipley.
43:40Just because we're talking about the Steelers receiving room, Adam Schefter just tweeted that Michael Pittman re-injured his foot and is now expected to miss multiple weeks.
43:48That's according to Schefter via or that's according to Mike McCarthy via Adam Schefter.
43:52So just throwing that out there. There's a pretty wide gap in ECR.
43:56I just really wanted to include a Shipley one, and I also really wanted to include a DK Metcalf one.
44:02Fitz is against consensus here. Metcalf is ranked well ahead.
44:05Oh, is he? I was going to say, like, I thought that I might be the odd one.
44:10Like, I would go Metcalf over Shipley. I am super close in flex rankings, but I would.
44:15We're talking about somebody who's top 10 in targets.
44:18I know it hasn't been super efficient, but Aaron Rodgers looks for him, looks for him, looks for him.
44:23He's got 10, 9, 5, and 9. Like, the 5 is the low output against the Bengals, which everybody expected more.
44:29I'm not even going to say, like, oh, he scored a touchdown in that game.
44:34Like, we want more than the 5 targets, but that's the thing.
44:37I'm looking more at the 10, 9, and 9.
44:40And I'm looking at the games where, like, the offense is working, you know, against Atlanta.
44:44I think he only had, like, four catches, but the volume is just there.
44:48No Pittman adds to it, where I was already going to say this before that.
44:53Pittman's basically been irrelevant anyway. So, I just, I'm going Metcalf.
44:56I just really don't expect anything from Shipley. And I wouldn't count on it, but I wouldn't be shocked.
45:01Like, I wouldn't come out, like, we're doing the waiver show on Monday.
45:05And we're like, well, I guess we're picking up Damian Pierce because it was a 50-50 split.
45:10I wouldn't be shocked. Like, I don't think that's going to happen, but it's not like Will Shipley's proven so much.
45:16Like, this isn't the Braylon Allen Isaiah Davis situation, in my opinion.
45:20Like, I don't think there's enough with Shipley where he can say, oh, he's walking out with 80% plus of those touches.
45:26And if he only gets 60%, I guess, the Jaguars defense, that's why I'm worried about Shipley.
45:31I didn't prep this debate for you guys, but if I had put DK Metcalf against a receiver Jalen Waddell, they're back-to-back in the rankings.
45:38I thought that was an interesting one, too. So, just any, yeah, you're kind of shooting from the hips since I didn't prep you for it.
45:46But do you guys have a preference there? I mean, Waddell, obviously, like, Sean Payton is now taking back over play calling duties in Denver.
45:53So, like, does that change how you're viewing Waddell?
45:56Like, what do you think about this one, Jake?
45:58I think that's more of what we talked about.
46:01I think we talked about it on this show or another Fantasy Pro show where I said that, like, play calling is
46:07more of, like, it's not necessarily they do something different than what Payton would have called.
46:12It's like in-game adjustments. Payton might just be seeing things and being like, hey, I would have adjusted to this.
46:18I would have adjusted to that. And maybe that helps a little bit.
46:21But I go back to the biggest thing I said about Waddell is that if a team wants to take him away
46:28and focus all their defensive coverage attention on him, they can because he's Waddell.
46:32If they spread their defense out and focus on everybody, Waddell will do Waddell things.
46:36I don't think the Chargers can do the former.
46:39I think they're going to be the latter, which is why I would go Waddell.
46:43I would go Waddell easily over Metcalf. I think this is going to be a decent game for Waddell.
46:49Fitz, what do you think about that one? Metcalf or Waddell?
46:52Waddell for me. Okay. Waddell is ahead, but only by one spot.
46:55They're back-to-back in receiver rankings. Let's do another flex here.
46:58Tucker Craft, I like throwing in a tight end every now and then.
47:02Tucker Craft or Denzel Boston, Fitz? Denzel Boston, the budding star.
47:05So he's averaging 71 receiving yards a game. That's almost twice as many as Tucker Craft, who's averaging 37 receiving yards a game.
47:12I think the gap narrows a little bit in full point.
47:15PPR, but I would still take Boston regardless of scoring format.
47:18Jake? Yep. Yeah, I agree. Part of it is like, ha-ha, I told you guys to stick with Tucker Craft, but at
47:25the same time, it's like, hmm, he's still touchdown reliant.
47:28I'm going to go with Denzel Boston, who's also big play and touchdown reliant.
47:32That's the thing. It was kind of embedded in what Fitz was saying there with the PPR side of it, but Boston
47:38can get one catch for 50, and it probably takes three catches for Craft to get 50.
47:43So that's why I'll lean slightly to Boston. Another flex here.
47:46Jordan Addison or Blake Corum, Jake? If Justin Jefferson is back, Blake Corum.
47:50If Justin Jefferson is out, Jordan Addison. This goes back to my Kyler Murray opinion, is Kyler Murray is wide receiver slash
47:56tight end, not wide receiver, wide receiver, then tight end throughout his career.
48:00And you just saw it last week. The one thing additionally, too, and I looked deeper into this for the Kyler Murray
48:07thing, when under pressure, he does target his tight ends more, which is what happened last week.
48:11That's why you saw TJ Hawkinson pepper, pepper, pepper, peppered.
48:14This isn't a week we have to worry that much about the pressure.
48:18So this is an opportunity. Like, Justin Jefferson smashed top 10 if he's playing.
48:22If not, Jordan Addison's going to be top 20.
48:25Like a lot of people had him last week.
48:27I'm going right back to him because this is an opportunity where the matchup is even better for Addison than it was last week.
48:34Fitz? There are a lot of moving parts here with the Addison Jefferson situation.
48:38So Addison's got a hamstring injury. And last time I checked the fantasy pros, are they playing tool on Thursday morning?
48:45Addison had a 49% chance of playing Jefferson at 66% with his ankle injury.
48:49So that's going to largely determine this. I mean, if it is Addison and not Jefferson, then yeah, I think you have to play Addison over Corum.
48:56And I think we saw last week that Corum is kind of worthless in the rare cases where the Rams are in a negative game script.
49:04Like they were in catch-up mode for most of that game against the Eagles.
49:08And Corum just is not a pass catcher. And we saw that there was a target to Corum that he almost bobbled into an interception.
49:15And Corum is just better in games where the Rams are playing with leads.
49:19Rams are playing the Arizona Cardinals. I maybe want to start Blake Corum there.
49:23But I just don't know if they're going to have that sort of game.
49:27This week against the Bills and what's probably going to be a shootout.
49:31So I want to play Addison here, but the injury situation might not allow it.
49:36Another flex one here fits. Devon Vele or Brian Robinson Jr.
49:39coming off his three touchdown game. I mean, it's nice that Brian Robinson has had at least nine carries in every game this season.
49:46So maybe there is a little bit of standalone value here.
49:49But he is not really involved as a pass catcher.
49:52And he's facing a Baltimore run defense much tougher than the Saints run defense that let the two Robinsons go on a Monday night rampage.
49:59Ravens have a lot of the 10th fewest rushing yards to running backs, giving up 3.8 yards per carry to running backs.
50:05So it's a tough matchup for Robinson. Give me Vele despite the suboptimal matchup he has against the Vikings.
50:11I don't know. If you look at the game log, I mean, Brian Robinson's on trajectory to score 35 this week if
50:17he keeps going the way that he's been. So I'm actually with Fitz on this one.
50:22I don't think it's a great matchup for LeVele.
50:25But as mentioned, Brian Robinson, three targets, three receptions through three games.
50:28The three touchdowns were a hell of a lot of fun.
50:31But that's also your banking on that is that Brian Robinson, if anything, this is kind of something I said in the
50:38waivers is he should have been and always should have been in the conversation with Blake Coram and a Mononga guy and
50:44all the like these high end backups that like we were on him last year for this reason.
50:49And then Christian McCaffrey just happened to stay healthy and everybody's like, well, forget Brian Robinson.
50:54Like this is why. So there is, I'd say certainly floor with Brian Robinson because you brought it up, Fitz, at least nine.
51:01He actually has 11, 10 and 14 in the last three games.
51:04So you're going to get five, six, seven points probably from Brian Robinson.
51:08But that's only if that's all you need. If you need it like a normal play, Vele would still be my pick
51:14with I'm in agreement with Fitz on this one.
51:17And any concern for you, Jake, with just Vele's matchup against the Vikings defense?
51:21Yes. Mildly. But Vele has been like the big thing about it is it's not just it's the clear second option for Shook.
51:28I brought up Shook like I do have concerns.
51:30That's why Shook's further down. I'm behind consensus in rankings for Shook.
51:34But he's the clear number two. But the big thing about it is Vele is not just the escape valve when he can't go to Chris Olave.
51:42He gets shots downfield, too. That's what I like so much about Vele is he does both things and fills those two
51:48roles in like that one number two role for him.
51:51Let's go to a quarterback one here. How about Jacoby Brissett?
51:54Very popular streamer this week. It's the pretty much best matchup you can have against that Lions defense versus Jaden Daniels coming back.
52:01You know, obviously the better quarterback. But, you know, first game back from that elbow injury, he gets the Giants.
52:06Who do you prefer here, Jake? I easily prefer Jaden Daniels and then just don't watch the game because you're going to stress yourself out.
52:14Because if Jaden Daniels stays healthy throughout the entire game, it's Jaden Daniels against that Giants defense.
52:19Maybe if there's no Terry McLaurin, you might get me to say it's closer.
52:23And that actually is looking like that might be a possibility.
52:26And I know everybody's on Jacoby Brissett, the number one wide receivers against the Lions, the number one wide receivers against the Cardinals.
52:33Like this is on paper a shootout. It's just we've done the Jacoby Brissett dance before.
52:37He's not too dissimilar from Jameis Winston. Like we want these huge games.
52:41We're expecting these huge games to match up as cake for him.
52:44And then every once in a blue moon, like it's one of those like, well, Jacoby Brissett went back to being terrible Jacoby Brissett.
52:51And I think that's the thing is like a healthy Jaden Daniels.
52:55And I know the elbow is a risk, which is why I said don't watch the game, is that it's Jaden Daniels still.
53:02And he can run against that Giants defense and throw against that Giants defense.
53:06So I'm going Jaden Daniels. But like I said, if I have if I'm starting him and I am in one league,
53:12I'm just not going to watch that game. Like, I just don't want the stress of watching that game.
53:18Fitz? I've got Jacoby Brissett a little bit ahead of Jaden Daniels.
53:21Jake's making a good case for Jaden Daniels. I'm going to have to reconsider this.
53:25And the one thing that kind of scares me about Brissett, I mean, other than the maybe inevitability of him turning back
53:32into a pumpkin, he lost left tackle Paris Johnson to a torn biceps.
53:36And that is a huge loss. Detroit's secondary might be completely flammable, but they can still get after it with the pass rush.
53:42So not having Paris Johnson is kind of a big deal for Jacoby Brissett.
53:46And it makes me a little nervous that as good as this matchup looks like on paper, maybe it's not as good
53:53a situation for Brissett as everyone thinks. Jake, let me ask you, where do you have Brock Purdy against Seattle in relation to Brissett and Jaden Daniels?
54:01I go Jaden Daniels, Brock Purdy, Brissett. I have Purdy two spots in front of Brissett.
54:05I'm just, Purdy for me at nine is the only reason he's down at nine is because he's facing the Seahawks.
54:11Like, I think that Purdy, if we, if you strip the Jersey name off, he like, and just said, look at Brock
54:18Purdy's like entire resume and look at what he's doing, especially this year.
54:21And he's on the 49ers and people didn't think he's Brock Purdy.
54:25He'd be in tier one. Let's be honest. Like the way that he's been playing, he's been honestly, he's been playing more consistently than a Joe Burrow.
54:33And people would be like, oh, I'm starting Joe Burrow against the Seahawks.
54:36You should be saying the same thing about Purdy, in my opinion.
54:40Yeah. Yeah. I've got, so I've got Brissett, QB eight, Purdy QB nine, Jordan Love QB 10 and Daniels QB 11.
54:46But like, I feel like I could reorder those four guys any which way and I wouldn't feel totally great about it.
54:52Yeah. Drake May mixed in there in ECR as well.
54:55It goes Brissett at seven, May at eight, Purdy nine, Daniels 10, Love 11.
54:59I've May ranked highest of those guys. Yeah. All right.
55:02Let's do a tight end here. Colston Loveland or Juwan Johnson this week.
55:06Fitz, I'll start with you on this one. Loveland.
55:09The Vikings are really hard on tight ends. They've allowed the sixth fewest fantasy points to tight ends this year.
55:14Last year, they allowed the eighth fewest fantasy points to tight ends.
55:18Slow start for Loveland and he will be playing with a backup quarterback again.
55:22But it's worth remembering that the last time Loveland faced the Packers, eight catches for 137 yards on 15 targets in the playoffs.
55:29So I've Loveland ranked just a smidge higher. They're back-to-back in ECR.
55:32Loveland tight end 11. Juwan Johnson tight end 12.
55:35So both low end tight end ones. Jake, who do you prefer?
55:38Yeah. Like this is one where like Fitz just made the argument for me to flip them because I have them back-to-back.
55:45Like I have Juwan Johnson as of right now, one spot in front of Loveland.
55:49Like I want to. I want to believe this is happening and that Tyson Bagent was like, hey, this is all we wanted from the Bears.
55:57Target three people. That's it. Just don't mess with Khalif Raymond.
56:00Don't mess with everybody else. This is exactly we got what we wanted and they're going to kind of alternate because it
56:06was the Do-N-Z game more so than it was the Luther Burden game.
56:10But Loveland was involved and like this is what we want to have happen.
56:14I'm also a little hesitant trusting Tyson Bagent just in general, let alone the fact of like, does he do it again?
56:20And that's why I had Juwan Johnson one spot in front of him.
56:24But it's enough that, yeah, you do bring up the Minnesota defense as a concern.
56:28So, and I talked about it with Shuck. I think there's enough that I could flip-flop in this one.
56:34I think that in PPR, I'd still give Juwan Johnson the bare minimum edge that one spot.
56:39But if it's non and half, I probably like, I think Fitz is right in saying Loveland.
56:44Gesicki ahead of both of these guys, Jake? If both Chase and Higgins are out, I would feel better about Gesicki.
56:50Fitz, same question. Gesicki ahead of both of them.
56:53Right now, I've got Gesicki one spot behind Loveland and two spots ahead of Juwan Johnson.
56:57Okay. Let's wrap up with our touchdown calls contest.
57:00I am on running back this week. I will go with Bashal Tootin.
57:04Had a couple of opportunities taken away from him based on penalties in last week's game.
57:08I'm saying he gets in this week. So Tootin for me at running back.
57:12Jake, who's your receiver? I jinxed myself. I said it was going to happen last week.
57:17It was so easy too. And then Jeremiah Love with his 17 mysterious, I don't feel 100% things.
57:22And Tyler Algier gets the touchdown against the Giants.
57:25I even said that was going to happen. I was like, I'm going to get vultured by freaking Tyler Algier.
57:31It wasn't even a vulture. It was from far out too.
57:34So anyway, I'm going for one of my favorite bylaws for this.
57:37Weirdly, like we get everything we wanted from this wide receiver from last year.
57:41We get everything through the first three games. One bad game.
57:45And everybody's like, oh my God, it's over for Parker Washington.
57:48No, go by low right now. He was already in a good spot against the Eagles.
57:52On top of it, no Quinion Mitchell. Parker Washington, huge bounce back, gets in the end zone.
57:57If you get a by low window, it is right now.
58:00Take it and don't look back. Fitz, you are on the inenviable, unenviable, whatever the word is, spot of having to pick a tight end here this week.
58:09Who do you have? He got it last time.
58:11I did get it last time. He did a good job.
58:14I still would prefer not to have to pick one.
58:17But he did a good job last time. Yeah, well, you guys both have Jaguars.
58:22So are we just going to assume that the Jaguars are going to truck the Eagles like 49 to 10 in London?
58:28And I should take Brenton Strange. You should take Brenton Strange for sure.
58:32Yes. That would be so good, actually. I am actually not going to take a Jaguar.
58:36I'm going to go with Harold Fannin, who has three touchdown catches in his last two games.
58:41He's the guy Deshaun Watson looks for when the Browns get into the money zone.
58:46Fannin scores another TD in week five. I do think the Jags are going to truck the Eagles, by the way.
58:52So I wouldn't be surprised if all three of them do end up getting touchdowns.
58:56It wouldn't totally shock me. I thought he was going to go with one of the Lions Cardinals as a layup.
59:02Good in that matchup. Yeah. So our official picks here are Bachel Tutin at running back, Parker Washington at receiver, Harold Fannin Jr.
59:09at tight end. If you think you can nail this week's touchdowns, join our free touchdown calls contest on Pick Sheet.
59:15Pick a running back, wide receiver, tight end, and a bonus flex with the flex being worth double.
