Alvin Kamara

NegativeUsage30:24

Ian Hartitz notes that Alvin Kamara is dead last in yards per touch and looks 'washed' despite seeing significant touches in Week 2. Hartitz does not believe Kamara has sustainable fantasy value despite the recent usage spike.

Insight page

Caleb Williams

NegativeInjury5:37

Caleb Williams suffered a hamstring injury that will cause him to miss time; while it is not an Achilles injury, his reliance on mobility for off-schedule plays makes this a significant concern for his fantasy outlook.

Insight page
NegativeInjury41:59

Caleb Williams is considered week-to-week with a hamstring injury, which Matthew Berry views as positive news compared to a longer-term absence.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

PositiveValue12:02

Colston Loveland has been a major disappointment, moving from a top-three tight end projection to a borderline TE1. Despite leading the team in routes run and end-zone targets, he has only five targets on 63 routes and a 9% target share.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

NegativeRole11:49

Matthew Berry notes that DeAndre Swift's fantasy value shifts from a RB2 to a flex play with Tyson Bagent at quarterback, though he may see increased volume in a run-heavy approach that offsets the offense's lower efficiency.

Insight page

Dalton Schultz

PositiveUsage44:20

Matthew Berry highlights Dalton Schultz as a player he and Ian Hartitz liked, noting he had a big game for the Texans in Week 2.

Insight page

David Montgomery

NegativeUsage44:43

Matthew Berry and Ian Hartitz view David Montgomery's Week 2 struggles as noise, noting he remains the bell cow for the Texans despite a tough matchup and inefficient play.

Insight page

DeVonta Smith

PositiveUsage22:38

Matthew Berry is fully committed to Devontae Smith as a 'ride or die' fantasy asset, noting his massive 34-38% target share through two games. Smith is coming off a dominant 10-catch, 117-yard, one-touchdown performance in Week 2.

Insight page

Dontayvion Wicks

PositiveBreakout22:28

Matthew Berry and Ian Hartitz identify Dontavion Wicks as a useful fantasy asset through two weeks, especially with Dallas Goedert potentially missing time. Wicks is highlighted alongside Devontae Smith as a key playmaker for the Eagles.

Insight page
PositiveValue51:53

Matthew Berry expresses a preference for Dontayvion Wicks over Marvin Harrison Jr. for his own fantasy roster moving forward.

Insight page

Drake Maye

NegativeProjection39:06

Matthew Berry and Ian Hartitz agree that Drake Maye is currently unusable, with Hartitz confirming he will rank Maye outside his top 12 quarterbacks due to poor play, a discombobulated offense, and the loss of their right guard.

Insight page

Jayden Daniels

NegativeInjury20:44

Jayden Daniels suffered a dislocated left elbow and is expected to miss time. X-rays were negative, but the injury is significant enough to require a replacement in fantasy lineups.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

NegativeRole46:37

Ian Hartitz notes Jeremiah Love is playing only 43% of snaps and is losing work to Tyler Allgeier, leading to a reduced role that makes him a flex play rather than a top-20 running back.

Insight page

Justin Herbert

NegativeProjection24:10

Matthew Berry and Ian Hartitz express significant concern regarding Justin Herbert, who is currently QB26 in points-per-game. Hartitz notes Herbert's poor accuracy and the Chargers' offensive struggles, including a bottom-eight ranking in yards before contact and high pressure rates allowed. Both analysts advise against starting Herbert until the offense shows improvement.

Insight page
NegativeProjection39:15

Matthew Berry advises that if Justin Herbert is your only quarterback, you cannot start him moving forward, noting he has been mostly unusable with single-digit fantasy points.

Insight page

Ladd McConkey

NegativeUsage24:45

Despite the Chargers' offensive struggles, Ian Hartitz and Matthew Berry maintain that Ladd McConkey remains a startable fantasy asset. McConkey recorded a 71% route participation rate in Week 2 and is viewed as the only consistent pass-catcher on the team.

Insight page

Luther Burden

NegativeRole10:44

Luther Burden's fantasy outlook is downgraded from a low-end WR2 to a risky WR3 due to the quarterback change to Tyson Bagent, despite a 56% snap rate and a small-sample connection with Bagent in limited action.

Insight page

Marcus Mariota

PositiveValue22:22

Marcus Mariota is the top quarterback pickup for those replacing Jayden Daniels. He has been a top-10 quarterback in fantasy points per dropback over the last two seasons and has a history of supporting Terry McLaurin and Stefan Diggs.

Insight page

Marvin Harrison Jr.

PositiveBust48:44

Matthew Berry and Ian Hartitz agree that Marvin Harrison Jr. is currently unusable, with Hartitz suggesting he is droppable in shallow leagues after a 6% target share start to the season.

Insight page

Rhamondre Stevenson

NegativeUsage33:25

Matthew Berry and Ian Hartitz discuss Rhamondre Stevenson's fumble issues, noting he is the only NFL running back with double-digit fumbles since 2024. While Stevenson still maintains the third-down role, his snap share dropped significantly following his Week 2 fumble, leading to a more even split with Travion Henderson.

Insight page
NegativeRole38:44

Matthew Berry is not panicking on Rhamondre Stevenson yet, citing the trust he has from the coaching staff and his continued usage in passing situations.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeInjury30:44

Saquon Barkley suffered a stinger and is undergoing an MRI on his neck and shoulder. He returned to play sparingly after the injury, recording only nine snaps and four touches.

Insight page

Stefon Diggs

PositiveUsage28:37

Stefan Diggs has maintained a 24% target share this season and is averaging over 18 fantasy points per game with three touchdowns, remaining a strong play despite the quarterback change.

Insight page

Tank Bigsby

PositiveRole19:16

Matthew Berry notes that while Bigsby played only 33% of snaps in Week 2, he led the team in early-down work and recorded 15 touches. Ian Hartitz highlights Bigsby as a high-end talent, citing top-six rankings since 2024 in explosive rush rate, yards after contact, and tackles avoided per carry on over 200 carries. Hartitz expects a committee approach if Saquon Barkley misses time, with Bigsby likely leading in overall touches.

Insight page
PositiveRole31:56

Tank Bigsby is the primary handcuff for Saquon Barkley. In the game where Barkley was injured, Bigsby played 33% of snaps and recorded 15 touches, though Will Shipley also saw significant work due to the game script.

Insight page

Terry McLaurin

NegativeUsage23:37

Terry McLaurin's fantasy expectations should be lowered slightly with Marcus Mariota, but he remains a viable option given his 25% target share in games played with Mariota last season.

Insight page

Travis Etienne

NegativeValue29:21

Ian Hartitz advises against selling Travis Etienne low despite his frustrating usage split with Alvin Kamara. Hartitz notes that Etienne has been efficient with his opportunities and caught nine passes through two games, suggesting the usage should shift back in his favor over the course of the season.

Insight page

Trevor Lawrence

PositiveValue43:02

Matthew Berry and Ian Hartitz view Trevor Lawrence's poor Week 2 performance as noise, labeling him a buy-low target who will remain a top-10 quarterback moving forward.

Insight page

Tyson Bagent

NegativeProjection6:45

Tyson Bagent is expected to take over as the Bears' starter, but expectations should be lowered for the entire offense. Bagent has ranked in the bottom 15 in most passing efficiency stats since 2023 and has struggled to lead a productive offense.

Insight page

Will Shipley

NegativeUsage19:31

Matthew Berry notes that Will Shipley played more snaps than Tank Bigsby in Week 2, likely due to the Eagles trailing the Titans for much of the game. Hartitz suggests Shipley would likely serve as the primary pass-down back in a committee if Saquon Barkley were to miss time.

0:00It is noon on YouTube, but it's 5 o'clock somewhere, so the Happy Hour Bar once again open for business.
0:06My name, Matthew Berry, your friendly neighborhood bartender here to help you out.
0:10So brothers and sisters, friends of the revolution, week two almost in the books.
0:14We got one last game coming up in a second.
0:17My old pal Ian Hartitz, but a couple of pieces of, got a couple of pieces of business here just to work through.
0:23First off, a show announcement. So normally, of course, we always do the show live at noon Eastern here on YouTube, but there'll be some announcements this week.
0:32I think it comes out tomorrow. We'll see. Either way, for the rest of this week, this week only, the show will
0:38air live on YouTube at 9 a.m. Eastern. Yes, very early.
0:41Sorry, Aloha Bricks. I think that means you've got to get up at 2 a.m.
0:46or just stay up the night before. But I know the regulars are always in the crew.
0:51So anyway, 9 a.m. Eastern. We're working on some stuff for the rest of the week.
0:55Tomorrow, our old pal Adam Ronas, host of Fantasy Life Radio on Sirius XM, joins us for the Wave Wire show.
1:01So Ronas will be here tomorrow, 9 a.m. the rest of the week, 9 a.m.
1:06Eastern. So there's that. Second piece of business. You know who drinks free?
1:10A lot of candidates for who drinks free today in the bar.
1:13But I've got to say it's Buccaneers fans. To me, I think it's Buccaneers fans.
1:18Think about this. They had to sit through a weather delay.
1:21They had to wait like eight hours only to watch their team lose to the Browns.
1:25That's brutal. Bad weather and you get embarrassed by the Browns at home.
1:29Deshaun Watson comes into your house and beats you.
1:32That is tough. And I feel bad for Buccaneers fans.
1:35You guys drink free. Cheers to you. But it wasn't just the Buccaneers fans' egos that was injured.
1:40It feels like everyone yesterday was injured. Am I right, Ian Hartitz?
1:44Of course, Ian Hartitz spent so many years with us at FantasyLife.com.
1:47He's a dear friend. But then Rotowire.com came along and just backed up the Brinks truck and made him a very, very wealthy man.
1:54He was able to buy a brand new Ohio State hat.
1:57I mean, just like there's nothing that he can't afford now.
2:01Just a massive amount of money. It is a huge contract for Ian Harditz.
2:05And I told him as his friend when he came to me, I said, dude, why are you talking to me?
2:11Hang up the phone and go tell them you'll take it before they change their mind.
2:15So we're thrilled for Ian's success. He's crushing it over there at Rotowire.com.
2:19And of course, on the Fantasy Football with Ian Harditz YouTube channel.
2:23What's up, brother? It seems like it's a great day to be great.
2:27Always a great day to be great, Matthew. Appreciate you having me back.
2:30Haven't been too far away. Still kicking it with Mr.
2:33Dwayne McFarlane. Two plus hours pretty much every Sunday night reviewing all the games.
2:37But no, man, appreciate you having me on. Excited to break this down because, like you said, injuries all over the place.
2:44And to some of the best offenses, too. So we got a lot to talk about.
2:49We do. So I want to show you a graphic of every level.
2:52I mean, and like I don't want to see many days to fit in the graphic.
2:57But you see here, obviously, Caleb Williams and Jane Daniels, the two quarterbacks, those lead the list.
3:02You heard about that. But Saquon Barkley left the game.
3:05Jadarian Price left the game. J.K. Dobbins left the game.
3:08Is it Jonah Coleman's season already? Rico Dowdle and Jonathan Brooks, they both left the game.
3:13Mike Evans, the substation, claims another one. He left the game.
3:16Doesn't sound serious, but we'll get into that later.
3:18Jayden Reed, this one was scary. And of course, Dallas Goddard of the Philadelphia Eagles.
3:23And that doesn't even include in the guys that didn't even play in this game, right?
3:27You know, the Zay Flowers of the world, Nico Collins of the world, like those guys as well.
3:33So let's start, I think, with the biggest name, at least for fantasy.
3:37And that's Caleb Williams, because it's not just Caleb, of course, but it's the entire Bears offense that goes along with him.
3:43And so this looks scary early. He's out on the card.
3:46He's raising his hand like, you know, he might be out for the year.
3:50We found out later it's a hamstring injury. It's not his Achilles, which I think a lot of people thought when it happened.
3:57And it's his hamstring injury. He's going to miss time as of this taping, or we don't know how much time, but it's going to miss some time.
4:05It is Tyson Bajan, or as I like to call him, T-bag.
4:09So it is T-bag time in Chicago there, Ian.
4:11What do we think this Bears offense looks like moving forward under Tyson Bajan?
4:15Very good news that Caleb seemingly isn't going to be missing that much time.
4:20Again, after being carted off, I just was assuming the worst.
4:23Obviously heard him scream on the field. So the NFL is more fun with a healthy Caleb Williams.
4:28I'm so happy that he should be back before too long.
4:31But yeah, man, with our guy T-bag, hard to not be a bit pessimistic here.
4:36When he came in for the Bears a few years ago, I know it was a very disjointed offense with Justin Fields,
4:42and there actually was an argument to be made.
4:45Maybe they are moving better with Bajan under center, but just relative to the rest of the quarterbacks in the league, man.
4:5172 qualifiers since 2023. We're talking about bottom 15 in pretty much every passing efficiency stat that we care about.
4:57He's with Ben Johnson. We got these playmakers that on paper should be doing something.
5:01But Matthew, again, at the risk of acting like I know anything more about football than Ben Johnson, it's been rough these two weeks, man.
5:09Whether it's Kalief Raymond having as many receptions as Loveland, Burden, and Adunze combined.
5:13Whether it's Colston Loveland getting blown up in pass pro with the game on the line.
5:17Like even some of these smart, these easy buttons that we like to look at across the league.
5:23We're looking at a Bears offense that this year so far, guys, is 31st in motion before the snap and 17th in play action rate.
5:30Two things that usually he hangs his hat on.
5:33So I would like to think it's just a down two weeks, but now without your starting QB, I think this is
5:39going to look a lot like a middle of the road offense at best.
5:43And they got the Eagles on Monday night football.
5:46So man, not going to be an easy stretch to get ready either.
5:50That's the point. Ryan McGlynn says Bears fans drinking free.
5:5359 to three points. Caleb Hurt, Loveland awful. Luther awful.
5:55I get it. But listen, at the end of the day, you guys are still one-on-one.
6:00Bucs fans are 0-2 and lost to the Browns.
6:03The Vikings are at least a good team. Brian Flores is a good, and you know, it was bad weather.
6:09So to your point about some of these players, right?
6:12So I think if there's a positive Tyson Bagent, and look, none of this is ideal, right?
6:17I mean, you lose somebody like Caleb Williams, and I agree.
6:20The league's more fun with him. And we'll talk tomorrow on the WaveWire Show.
6:24You're going to have to go replace somebody. And I don't think Tyson Baygent's the answer.
6:29Like if you're losing Caleb Williams. I mean, look, four career starts all came in 2023.
6:33You know, under 12 fantasy points per game. Three touchdowns, five interceptions, 194 passing yards.
6:38Now, I do think it'll be a better situation now.
6:41Better offense. I'm a believer in Ben Johnson, despite what we saw yesterday.
6:44But you're right. Luther Burton, 59% snap rate. I'm sorry, 56% snap rate on Sunday.
6:49He ran two fewer routes than Kalief Raymond. I did seem like, though, Tyson Baygent, after he entered the game, he only passed the ball seven times.
6:57Four of those pass attempts went to Luther Burton.
6:59So maybe slightly helpful that maybe there's some sort of connection.
7:02Again, super crazy small sample size. I think ultimately I agree with you.
7:06I think we lower the expectations for all the Bears players.
7:09I think, you know, they all sort of – DeAndre Swift was a running back two.
7:14Now he's more of a flex, right? You know, Luther Burton was a low and wide receiver two.
7:19Now he's more of a risky wide receiver three.
7:22Colston Loveland, we thought at the beginning of the season, was a top three fantasy tight end.
7:27Now he's a borderline tight end one. Ian, I think if there's – you know, you never want to react too early.
7:33It's only been two weeks. But if I had to say what was my worst call of the year so far, it might be Colston Loveland.
7:41Because I was all in on Colston Loveland. He was a runner-up to my ride or die.
7:46I have a massive amount of Colston Loveland. He's out there.
7:49I mean, Colston Loveland leads the Bears in routes run.
7:52He leads the Bears in end zone targets. But he just has literally nothing to show for it.
7:57Five targets on 63 routes run. He has a 9% target share.
8:01Roto World with an unbelievably trolling headline the other day.
8:04I don't know if you saw this on social media.
8:07It was just like, Loveland heats up with a one-for-three outing.
8:10You know, one reception for three yards or whatever it was.
8:13I mean, just – what do we do with Colston Loveland, Ian?
8:17Because I think to your point, their schedule – I want to bring up their schedule.
8:21Home to Philadelphia. Then home to the Jets. A better-than-we-think Jets team.
8:25Not that they're great, but they're not horrific. At Green Bay at Atlanta.
8:29So it's a little bit up and down. But certainly the Eagles coming down, you don't feel great about Chicago's chances in one week.
8:36First of all, I'm right there with you, man.
8:38I'm one of those silly, alleged fantasy experts. I thought drafting Colston Loveland in round four was a good idea all offseason long.
8:45So it has sucked. Maybe it is just two weeks.
8:48But they've been a really bad two weeks. I know you brought up last week, you know, rightfully so, that, okay, he
8:55had to miss the end zone target. He got overthrown over the middle.
8:58And even yesterday, we did see him have a 14-yard catch, you know, actually nullified by a holding penalty.
9:04But, okay, give him all those plays if you want to.
9:07And we're still talking about a disappointing start in the season.
9:10And really just inexplicable when you look at last year when he had, what was it?
9:1528 more targets than the next closest receiver during their final four or five games of the year.
9:20So it hasn't started out the way we wanted to.
9:23I would like to think that, I don't know if this makes me feel better, but it seems like more of a
9:30systemic problem than anything Colston Loveland is necessarily doing wrong.
9:33I don't think he necessarily just turned bad at football overwrite.
9:36Again, Ben Johnson told us himself that he wanted to buy stock and lose the burden.
9:40I'm pretty sure he didn't plan on revolving this offense around Khalif Raymond.
9:44But sometimes weird things happen in 120-minute sample sizes.
9:47So I'm with you. Low-end tight end one, as long as things are going to keep on keeping on the way they are.
9:54Hopefully, you guys, again, have a decent enough backup plan.
9:57I'd like to think once we get a healthy Caleb Williams back out there, things could turn up.
10:02But I'm also worried, Matthew. Look, great news. That's a hamstring, not an Achilles.
10:06But we saw what this did to Lamar Jackson last season.
10:09And even if Caleb isn't quite Lamar Jackson, he is one of these guys where all of his really, really good plays
10:16come in large part because he's able to escape pressure.
10:18He's able to get out of the pocket. So I'm just worried, man.
10:22If we see an 80%, 90% version of Caleb Williams, that's going to hurt him.
10:27And it's going to make life even tougher for the rest of these guys who, again, we can't even feel good about right now.
10:34Yeah, I think I completely agree, by the way.
10:36As Hands57 says, just think if Barry had Loveland as his ride or die, he'd be moving the start time to 3 a.m.
10:43Eastern. Aha. Yes. Fair enough. I honestly probably wouldn't even be doing the show if Loveland had been my ride or die.
10:50And I'd miss that bad through. The only thing on Loveland, and then we'll move on because lots to get to here,
10:56is that, again, should have had a touchdown in week one.
10:59Caleb just completely missed him. Also had another big play.
11:02The two targets that he got in week one when they put up almost 60 on the Panthers, if Caleb just makes
11:09a good throw on those two plays, we probably have a different level of panic on Colston Loveland, unlike the unmitigated meme
11:15of the dog surrounded by fire, everything's fine, this is fine, which is what it feels like right now.
11:21I'm probably still – we'll get into it as the week goes on.
11:24I'm probably still starting Loveland against the Eagles who have tended to struggle against tight ends over the course of their career.
11:31But, yeah, it's not great, especially with Baygent. So hopefully Williams gets back because, to your point, in addition to his ability
11:37to escape pressure and do off-schedule throws with his team, it's also his rushing.
11:41His rushing is what makes Caleb a special fantasy player if he's a little bit limited because the hamstring remains to be seen.
11:48So definitely, like, just stock across the board for all of your Bears, lowers.
11:52The only one I might say, Ian, that holds steady is DeAndre Swift.
11:56I think the offense won't be as good under Tyson Baygent, so it won't be in scoring position as often, won't be as efficient.
12:03But I do think they lean on the run game more.
12:06So maybe, like, it sort of balances out and Swift and Monungay are basically what they were prior to that because more work but less efficient offense.
12:14Let's move over to my team, and I'm wearing my normal five Jaden Daniels jersey is currently being used for something else, which is part of the announcement.
12:22But so I wore this, which is like a T-shirt that they sent out that I got sent his rookie year.
12:28The league done messed up, as you can see, and it doesn't really say who it is, but it's Washington color.
12:35So skirting the licensing laws there, whoever made this T-shirt for me.
12:38But either way, it's referencing Jaden Daniels, who once again gets hurt for the second year in a row.
12:44As Ian Rappaport here, you see the tweet. Commanders coach Dan Quinn says QB Jaden Daniels suffered another dislocated left elbow, so
12:50not his throwing arm, and he's expected to miss time.
12:53X-rays were negative. The last time he had this injury, he missed about a month.
12:57Now, he didn't get surgery, Ian, so we'll see if he gets surgery here.
13:01But certainly, this is also not ideal. You're going to need a replacement.
13:05I will say that if you're going to get a quarterback without knowing who's out there in a bunch of leagues, I
13:12actually think it's a better situation in Washington. As K-8's lineup says, poor Matthew drinks free today with a Daniels injury.
13:18Not just the Daniels injury, but also, by the way, Texas A&M lost this weekend.
13:22They got their asses kicked. How about the fact that the Washington Commanders lost to Dallas in a horrific way?
13:28We're 0-2, and we lost our starting quarterback. Bama dropped one, too.
13:32Yeah. I mean, it's been... No, Bama won. Bama beat Florida State.
13:35Oh, you're right. My bad. Bama won Florida State, so at least I have Bama.
13:39But yes, Texas A&M, that one was a bad one.
13:42But I will say I feel like better about this situation, Ian, just because Marcus Mariota, an eight career starts with the
13:49Commanders, averages over 15 fantasy points per game, 200 yards passing, 32 rushing yards a game.
13:54He's been top 10 among qualified quarterbacks in fantasy points per dropback over the past two seasons.
13:59I think he's the number one quarterback pickup this week of the, quote, new guys out there.
14:03You know what I mean? Like, again, if you're in a shallow league and Tyler Shuck's still out there or whatever, but
14:10of the guys that came onto the Fantasy Raider today, I certainly prefer Mariota to Bagent.
14:15And I think he's... Overall, he's been pretty good.
14:17Like, you know what I mean? Like, you lower expectations for McLaurin Diggs a little bit, but not nearly as much as I think...
14:24I think the drop from Daniels to Mariota isn't nearly as great as the drop from Caleb Williams to Tyson Bagent.
14:30What say you, Ian Harditz? Look, 2024, Jaden Daniels put together one of the best rookie quarterback seasons that we've seen.
14:37All right? Marcus Mariota isn't going to get close to that, but we have had a decent sample since then.
14:42It just hasn't been as pretty for Jaden Daniels.
14:45I don't think it's all on him. Obviously, he had the scheme to change an offensive coordinator.
14:50I don't think it's an offense exactly littered with playmakers.
14:53But just, again, with two pretty decent sample sizes since week one of last season, Mariota's been better than Jaden Daniels in
14:59pretty much any one of these stats that we want to care about.
15:03So, I actually asked our own Dwayne McFarlane, who, as you know, is always grinding the fantasy life projections day in and day out.
15:10And I asked him, I was like, how much of a drop-off are we really even going to see in passing yards per game from Daniels to Mariota?
15:18He said, not much of one. So, could it be a little bit less efficient?
15:23Could there be a lower overall ceiling? I do think that's possible.
15:26But, look, Mariota really has had kind of a second revival in his career ever since he got done with that second Falcons tenure.
15:33He's been playing some pretty good football, first with the Raiders and then now with the Commanders as well in that backup capacity.
15:40So, not expecting fireworks or anything. But, he had three top eight fancy finishes last season.
15:45Like, he was able to put things together. And that was with an offense that didn't have Stephon Diggs.
15:50That had to bend up Terry McClorn and Matthew.
15:53The other thing going here, not good for your Commanders.
15:56Not good for the Barry household viewing experience on Sundays.
15:59But, this defense looks rough, man. They're blitzing a ton and they cannot stop the pass, basically, when opponents are able to
16:05go ahead and just get a clean pocket. So, I think it's one of these situations where Washington is capable with Terry,
16:12with Diggs, with their running backs to move the ball up and down the field.
16:16Especially given the fact they're probably going to be trailing a good amount because their defense cannot stop a nosebleed out here.
16:22So, I hear you. I think Mariota deserves to definitely be ahead of Tyson Baygent.
16:27If Bryce Young is out there, that's an interesting one.
16:30That dude's playing great football. I'm assuming Tyler Shuck isn't available in more leagues than not.
16:34But, I'm definitely more optimistic in the Commanders offense being average, being okay without Jaden Daniels.
16:39But, obviously, it would be a lot cooler if he can get back sooner rather than later.
16:44Yeah, Bryce Young is a good one to bring up because he's actually been terrific through the first two weeks.
16:50You know, break up the Panthers. Again, they played the Bears defense and they played the Falcons.
16:55So, you know, but still, you know, credit where credit is due.
16:58He's played the teams that were on the schedule and he's put up fantasy points in a significant way each of the last two weeks.
17:06When playing with Marcus Mariota, the five games that he's played with Mariota last year, he averaged over 14 fantasy points per game.
17:12This is Terry McLaurin. 25% target share in games that he plays with Mariota.
17:17And then, Stefan Diggs, so far this season, a 24% target share.
17:20He's averaging over 18 fantasy points per game. Three touchdowns in two games.
17:24So, I'm with you. One challenge, though, as you look at the upcoming schedule for Washington, they're home versus Seattle this week.
17:30Then home versus Indy. Home versus the Giants at San Francisco.
17:34So, I mean, other than the Giants game, and I think the Giants probably better than, you know, we'll see how they do tonight.
17:41But, you know, they certainly looked better against, the Giants certainly looked better against the Cowboys than the Commanders did.
17:46They got a good front seven at minimum. Yeah, absolutely.
17:49And, you know, I thought the Colts, despite the score last, I mean, the Colts had some, you know, Kansas City's no
17:56joke, you know, going to Kansas City. So, like, and San Francisco's awesome this year.
18:00So, could be a, I mean, like, there's a very real chance the Commanders are 0-6 in four weeks.
18:06You know, or 1-5. And we'll see because they spent a lot of money in the offseason on their defense.
18:12Dan Quinn is a defensive-minded head coach. And to your point, they can't stop anyone through two weeks of the season.
18:18Let's stay in the division and talk about Saquon Barkley.
18:21G'day. I'm Justin Wolfers, host of the Platypus Economics Podcast.
18:24If there's one thing I've learned from a career teaching economics, it's that your life is shaped by economic currents you'll never see.
18:30A single price tag can explain things a thousand experts can't.
18:34People who understand economics, they make better decisions in their careers, their finances, their relationships, and their communities.
18:39And I want that for you. Listen to and follow Platypus Economics, available now wherever you get your podcasts.
18:44He's headed for an MRI on the neck and shoulder injury here.
18:48As you see the tweet from Tim McManus, Saquon Barkley said he has a stinger.
18:52He's getting an MRI and, quote, will know more in the future.
18:56So he left the game. He came back and played sparingly.
18:59Played like nine snaps. He saw four touches after returning to the game in the third quarter in a highly competitive game.
19:05They needed basically the last play of the game to beat the Tennessee Titans, the lowly Titans, the Eagles did.
19:11But they are 2-0. So I want to talk about this backfield because, you know, Tank Bigsby is somebody who we've said all in the preseason.
19:19Like, if anything were ever to happen to Saquon, Tank Bigsby would be the guy.
19:23And he would be awesome. But played just, played 33% of the snaps.
19:27Had 15 touches. 6% target share. He let in the early down snaps.
19:31But Will Shipley actually played more snaps. Now, they were trailing.
19:34So I think that's part of why that Shipley played as much as he did because they were down and trailing the Titans on the road.
19:42But, you know, nine touches of 15 touches. Bigsby was in there.
19:45Probably be a little bit of a committee here, Ian, if Barkley were to miss time with Bigsby over Shipley.
19:51But it wouldn't, it doesn't seem like Bigsby would get the entire workload the way that Barkley has.
19:56I agree with you there. I think it would look similar to what we have going on in Houston.
20:02I know we're going to talk about Dave Montgomery later.
20:05But it's going to be Tank Bigsby getting more overall touches, even if Woody Marks, or in this case, Will Shipley, is more so the pass down back.
20:13So I'm just worried about the offensive environment as a whole, okay?
20:16I think Tank Bigsby is fantastic. If you go back since 2024, guys, top six running back, an explosive rush rate, yards after contact, tackles avoided per carry.
20:25And he's done it on over 200 carries. This isn't one of those things where I'm throwing numbers at you guys, like
20:31with a minimum of 45, you know, rush attempts or whatever.
20:34He had a lot of work with the Jaguars in 2024.
20:38He did good things in the backup capacity last year.
20:40I think Tank Bigsby is a dang good football player.
20:43I'm just concerned about the rest of this group.
20:46The Eagles right now, guys, are 31st in running back rushing yards before contact per carry.
20:51Only those Houston Texans are worse. Sean Mannion was supposed to come in and fix this scheme because how could it be even worse?
20:58I don't know, Matthew. We can make the argument that it is a little bit worse right now.
21:03Dead last in play action rate. They are still barely using motion before the snap.
21:07I think Jalen Hurts has largely done a really good job making something out of nothing in a lot of these games.
21:14He hit some good throws yesterday. Bad picks, I know, and those are inexcusable.
21:18But week one, he was running around. He was looking healthy because we've seen him play banged up.
21:23If it wasn't for Jalen Hurts and Devontae Smith, and to be fair, Dontavion Wicks kind of putting on their Superman capes
21:30here against two pretty bad defenses, we'd be asking some very, very tough questions.
21:34So two wins is two wins. Kudos to Eagles fans.
21:37You guys should be feeling good. But man, just based on all the hype we had for a new offensive experience, getting
21:43back to run the football, having more flavor in the overall scheme.
21:47So far, Matthew, I did not feel good about this group.
21:50Nor should you. I mean, again, the commanders hung in with them.
21:53The commanders looked better against the Eagles than they did against the Cowboys, who just absolutely waxed them.
21:59I mean, right? The commanders had a chance to tie at the end of the game and didn't get it done.
22:05And then the Titans, the lowly Titans, took them until the very last second here as well.
22:10So they still have the defense, which is important.
22:12But it'll be interesting to see what happens. You know, they're banged up, right?
22:16Because not only are they dealing now with this Saquon Barkley stinger, but as I mentioned at the top of the show, Dallas Goddard leaves this game.
22:24So it's all Devontae Smith and Dontavion Wicks, as you mentioned.
22:28We saw more Makai Lemon. He ran a lot more routes.
22:31Didn't earn a lot of targets here, but they'll continue to wrap up Makai Lemon.
22:35But through two games, Dontavion Wicks seems fairly useful.
22:38And then, of course, especially if Goddard's going to miss any time, ride or die.
22:42Let's go. Team high, 38% target share through two games.
22:45He's got a 34% target share. I know first game was like, okay, fine, whatever.
22:50He got a ton of targets. Didn't have a massive fantasy day.
22:53It was fine. But obviously this one, huge 10 for 117 and a touchdown.
22:57Ride or die means ride or die. I feel pretty good about Devontae Smith in a way that I didn't have to say two games of Kyler Murray.
23:05All right. Let's move on to, and as we mentioned, by the way, their schedule is really interesting.
23:11Look at this, Ian, the Eagles. Like, we're going to know pretty soon.
23:14So they're at Chicago. Again, they're facing Tyson Pajan, but never tough, easy place to play.
23:19Then they're home versus the Rams. They're home versus the Jaguars.
23:22They're home versus the Carolinas. So they get three straight home games.
23:26But all three of those are, you know, especially the Rams and the Jags are, you know, among the better teams in the NFL.
23:33And Carolina, Carolina's 2-0, you know, so. 1-1. Oh, sorry.
23:36Yeah, 1-1, right. Of course, they lost. They lost the Bears in the shootout, right.
23:40But whatever. The Panthers have looked un-Panther-esque, you know.
23:43Keep pounding, Ian. Keep pounding. All right. Let's, I want to get into kind of a little bit more of a quick
23:49hitter segment, a little bit of news or noise.
23:52I got to get some sort of sound effect for this, like news or noise, news or noise.
23:57But the premise is fairly quickly. I'm going to tell you something.
24:01You tell me if this is news or if this is noise, something we should pay attention to or just like, ah, bad day at the office.
24:09We start in LA. The Chargers offense looks terrible.
24:11They're 0-2. Justin Herbert looks awful. So bad that they, like, you know, the best thing about Charger games is they cut
24:18away to Madison Beer and they didn't even do that because, like, there was nothing to cut away.
24:23She was probably crying watching her man go 0-2.
24:25Kirk Cousins 2-0, by the way. Is this news or noise, the Chargers offensive struggles?
24:30Absolutely news. And sadly, I was one of the dummies.
24:33I thought the Chargers could actually be good this year.
24:36So I apologize to everyone for making this happen.
24:38But they're bottom eight in yards before contact for carry.
24:41Time to pressure allowed. Herber has been one of the lesser accurate quarterbacks.
24:45Completion percentage, over-expected. Lad McConkie looks like the only guy out there that can consistently catch the football.
24:50So absolutely horrific first two games of the season to start this way.
24:54And matchups that you were double-digit favorites in. So coming up, we get the Bills, Seahawks, Broncos, Chiefs, Rams, Texans, and Ravens.
25:01By the time we get to Thanksgiving, this is horrific, Matthew.
25:04Yeah. No, this is full-on panic. You're 100% right.
25:06It's absolutely news. The only Charger that I would trust moving forward.
25:10You're still starting McConkie. You know, McConkie, three for 35.
25:13Had 11.5% target share in week two. But 71% route participation again.
25:16Bad, you know, he was wearing the flak jacket.
25:19They just couldn't get anything going because the Raiders were able to control the clock.
25:23I mean, it's hard to explain just how shockingly bad they are in all facets of the game.
25:29They can't block, right? I mean, like, through two weeks, they've allowed the third highest pressure rate.
25:34They're 23rd in yards per game. They're averaging just 14 points a game, just as an offense overall.
25:39Like, you know, it's awful. So, you're still starting McConkie and you're still starting Omari and Hampton.
25:44But that's it. Through two games, Justin Herbert, Mr.
25:47Madison Beer is QB 26 on a points-per-game basis.
25:49He's averaging just over 200 passing yards a game, like 200.5.
25:52Like, I mean, we all like Mike McDaniel. I was so in, Ian.
25:56I'll own this as well. If my worst call of the year was Colston Loveland, my second worst call was like, I'm
26:03in on the Chargers offense because I thought Herbert was going to have a monster year.
26:07I mean, I liked Hampton and McConkie, right? But so it's really just Herbert.
26:11Herbert and just the offense overall. I kind of had Keaton Mitchell as a sleeper.
26:16That's not materialized at all. Like, it just, they got two guys, you know, and you didn't need to be a fantasy
26:22expert to know those are the two guys. And so I think this is concerning.
26:27And again, you have to lower expectations for McConkie and Hampton.
26:30But, I mean, I just don't know how you start Justin Herbert until you see it.
26:34And if you went into the season with only Justin Herbert as your quarterback, and why wouldn't you?
26:40You know, in a single quarterback league, again, you just read the schedule.
26:44Buffalo, Seattle, Denver, Kansas City. You mentioned Houston's in there, right?
26:47I mean, just, I can't imagine feeling good about starting Justin Herbert.
26:50And it would take like a couple of games.
26:53Right? You're just sort of like, okay, but he sucked the first two weeks.
26:57Am I starting him in week four against Seattle?
27:00At Seattle. Game's in Seattle, by the way. Oh.
27:02Right. And then they're home to Denver. One other name though, Matthew, that we could get, because I don't think the injury,
27:09the graphic wasn't large enough to fit all the injuries, because we had so many go on.
27:14But we did see David Njoku leave with the knee, and then Charlie Kohler with the forearm.
27:19At this point, I mean, I'd like to see what Aranda Gadsden has, period, because we're seeing nothing out of QJ and largely Trey Harris as well.
27:27But Aranda Gadsden, I'm assuming, is going to be available in more leagues than not.
27:31If Njoku and Kohler are out of the picture, again, it's going to be problematic for the offense, because you don't want Gadsden blocking out there.
27:39That's why he hasn't been playing in the first place.
27:41But we did see him get hot last season.
27:44That would be the one other guy I'd throw in.
27:47Yeah, but by the way, just to your point, I think it's interesting.
27:51It's more of a deeper league stash, sort of let's see how it goes, because I don't feel great about any of this offense.
27:58But again, this is a team that just can, third highest pressure rate allowed, and that was with a healthy Njoku and
28:04Charlie Kohler, two of the better blocking tight ends in the NFL.
28:08And so if they're out too, like that hurts a team that already is struggling to protect Justin Herbert.
28:13Yeah, it's disastrous. You know, go Chargers, go. No longer has the same ring.
28:17It's upsetting. And that little fan, that woman that's, you know, that always, I don't see her these days either.
28:23Yeah, it's bad. It's bad. All right. News or noise, Ian Harditz?
28:27Alvin Kamara gets more touches than Travis Achan. I saw you, I think you're the one who tweeted this.
28:32You're such a fun follow, by the way. I assume everyone follows you on social media.
28:37But if you don't, at I Harditz on social media on X, you're one of the best followers.
28:42You're so funny. And I think you said like, did you say something like, let's change the last name pronunciation back and see what happens?
28:50Is that your joke? I think Dwayne might've stole that one out there.
28:53But yeah, it's a good one. We like to have fun in those streets.
28:58So I appreciate it. Hey, you know, as someone with tits in my last name, however people want to be pronounced and called, you know, good for them.
29:06And we should respect that. But look, this is news worthy because how could it not be?
29:11You know, the $48 million running back is all of a sudden working on Alvin Kamara.
29:15But I will say, Matthew, I'd be shooting over some low trade offers to Travis Etienne managers out there.
29:21Really? Because the other thing is, man, yes, Kamara has been getting more touches for one week.
29:26And I don't know why CJ Donaldson, Kenjay Miller are also being involved here.
29:30But I do think of the Saints as an organization that generally seems to be making right moves.
29:35The offense looks pretty good this year. They've scored about 54 points in two games.
29:40We like Tyler Shook. Alvin Kamara is dead last in yards per touch this year.
29:44Like he looks washed. It is not good there.
29:47And Etienne has actually been making the most out of his opportunities.
29:50It's an annoying two-game sample. I get it, guys.
29:53But he has caught nine passes. He would have had a touchdown at the end of the game yesterday if they didn't accidentally false start.
30:00They literally, the Ravens wanted to let them score.
30:03We didn't get that going. Look, week three, I think we're going to be ranking Travis Etienne probably outside of our top 24 running backs.
30:10And that is annoying. But just again, why would a team pay him that much money to not use him?
30:16Is a fair question to ask. Do we really think that's going to be persisting over the course of an 18-week season?
30:22That's where I'm kind of balking a little bit.
30:25So, annoying usage for sure. And I'm sure if you use a third or fourth round pick on Etienne, you're pissed off
30:31about it right now as you should be. But I would not be selling low right now.
30:36If anything, I'd just be trying to go ahead and talk to that disgruntled manager.
30:41Maybe they need a quarterback and you happen to have a second one that you can throw in there.
30:46Now, I do think it's a situation where we still like the player.
30:50We really like the offense. We just need that usage to shift.
30:54And just based on the performance of Kamara and these other guys, I think it could before too long.
30:59Maybe. I mean, listen, through two games, he's seen 33% of the team's rushing attempts.
31:04He's played just 56% of the snaps. He's averaging 13 touches a game.
31:07Alvin Kamara only played 30% of the snaps, but on the 19 snaps that he was out there, 19 snaps, Alvin Kamara got 14 touches.
31:15He had an almost 20% target share in this one.
31:18And again, it's a game they want. So if you're, if you're Kellen Moore, why are you going to go away from
31:24a, a formula that's working by the way? I mean, you know, they, they, they took the, they took the lions, a
31:31team that we think is one of the better teams in the NFL.
31:34They took the lions to overtime. You know, they beat the Ravens, you know, Ravens team without Zay flowers, but still they beat the Ravens.
31:42And through two weeks, I got a great stat for you.
31:45And you ready for this one? I'm ready. Through two weeks, the person with the most passing yards in the NFL, Tyler shuck.
31:52Yeah. Shuck around and find out it is a, it's Tyler shucks world.
31:55We just live in it. So I think it's news.
31:58I agree with you that it's news. I don't think it's news in the sense that Kamara suddenly has fantasy value.
32:05It's I don't think there's fantasy value there. I do think there's, but I do think it is news on a Chan.
32:11And I do think, I'm not sure I am trying to trade low for them, but I did.
32:16Let's see. And millennium Falcon wants to know, did Ian just split the difference between pronouncing it ETN and a Chan?
32:22Like you, like at tan, it's sort of like.
32:25I've got this from Pat Mayo. I've got this from Pat Mayo.
32:29I do a show with him and Jake Seeley every week.
32:32Awesome guys. And in Pat's opinion, which I agree with, it's like the Louisiana Cajun pronunciation.
32:36So it's not a Chan. It's ETN. You got to like, kind of get into it.
32:41ETN. All right. I'm down with that. Provocative. Yeah.
32:44We've had Jake on the show. I haven't had Pat yet, but Pat's great too.
32:48They both do great work. So ETN, I'm, I'm in on that.
32:52I'm in on that, but I'm not buying, I'm not in on buying low on him yet.
32:57I am in on not selling him low. I think you just sort of have to hang tough and just, you know,
33:03we'll see as we get into it and hope springs eternal, but I'm just, I'm nervous that it's going to be a
33:09three headed monster that they, you know, that the offense is rolling well.
33:13And like, why switch it up? You know, if it's going this well, just because we want, they don't care what we want.
33:20All right. Let's go another, another background here. Another news or noise for another running back room.
33:25News or noise. Travion Henderson led the Patriots backfield.
33:28So Ramondre has a bad fumble in this one.
33:30And after that fumble, we've seen this before. After that fumble, Travion Henderson out snapped Ramondre Stevenson, 32 to 15.
33:36Stevenson still played on third downs, but after Stevenson's fumble, basically Henderson got 16 touches.
33:40Ramondre Stevenson just got five. So this is a changing of the guard.
33:44Is Travion Henderson now the Patriots running back? You want to own, or is this just one of those one-time things that
33:51again, we saw all through last year, Stevenson run up a fumble.
33:54He would, they'd kind of bench him, but then the very next week, they'd go right back to Ramondre Stevenson as their lead guy.
34:01What say you Ian Hartitz? It's so, it is funny.
34:04You can just, everyone's called me only tits for basically my entire life.
34:08So Matthew, I'll give you permission, whatever, but look with Travion, it's a step in the right direction.
34:13News. Is what wise, because we saw in the playoffs, him just absolutely gets changed snaps from Ramondre.
34:19It was not a one a one B. It was the Ramondre Stevenson show with the season on the line.
34:24That wasn't always the case during the regular season though, last year, even removing the games where Ramondre was hurt.
34:30He only outtouched Travion 162 to 158 last season, which surprised me looking back.
34:34Cause I remember it as someone again, who drafted way too much Travion Henderson round three or whatever it was last year.
34:41It felt like it was much more significant than that.
34:44So I feel like we're at least getting back to the one a one B split backfield that we did see for
34:50the majority of the last regular season. I don't think Travion is going to completely reduce Mondre to be in this pure
34:57backup and take over the role and everything like that.
34:59But with someone like Travion, Matthew can go out there and rip off the 30 plus yard touchdown runs out of moments.
35:06Notice we don't necessarily need 30 touches. Okay. If this Patriots office can get back to looking like the really good group
35:12they were for the majority of last season, I can live with 15 combined carries and targets per game.
35:18Looking at the schedule, moving forward. All right. I mean, it's not going to be a situation I think where we can
35:24expect the Patriots just be rolling weekend and week out, but it certainly gets better.
35:29I mean, how could it not just looking at the opponents they've had recently, but it's going to be the Jaguars, the
35:35bills, the Raiders, the jets, the bears, and the dolphins.
35:38I can start getting behind that. So they need explosiveness in this offense, particularly since they refuse to play Kyle Williams out there.
35:45I'm intrigued by this. And who's to say Mondre's even done fumbling.
35:48The only running back in the NFL with double digit fumbles since 2024, Ramondre Stevenson.
35:53Good on Trevion for making the most out of his opportunities afterwards.
35:56Yeah. Um, so it's interesting here. And by the way, before we get into this, I stump man Chuck, I just have
36:03to mention this because I saw his comment up there.
36:06Stump man Chuck says, uh, you know, Ramondre fumbles.
36:08Sky is blue. Water is wet. I just bring that up.
36:11The only reason that I bring that comment up because whatever, it's fine.
36:15It's a fine comment, but we love some man Chuck.
36:18He's one of the regulars here. Um, stump man Chuck in the fantasy football, happy hour guillotine league and the, and the regulars guillotine league.
36:25Stump man Chuck is on the chopping block tonight.
36:28Oh no. And it does not look good for him.
36:31But the port, the important part is, and the only reason I'm bringing it up and Chuck knows I love him.
36:37Chuck's so great, but I have to do this because Chuck benched Bo Nix.
36:41Chuck Bo bench Bo Nix. And now he's going to, not that Bo Nix had an amazing day, but I'm just going
36:48to say, stump man, no one has defended Bo Nix harder or more fiercely on this show than stunt man Chuck.
36:54But when it came down to it, when it came down to putting it on his, um, uh, you know, his, his
37:00fantasy life on the line, a stuntman Chuck says, I'm going to get chopped for sure.
37:05Is, um, is the fact that, you know, Bo Nix, not in his starting lineup.
37:09It just feels karma. It just feels like he, like he's defended Bo Nix for years and years and years.
37:15And now, now heading into week two, he's just like, I don't trust Bo Nix.
37:20And what happens? Stuntman Chuck is going to get chopped for sure.
37:23Back to Travion Henderson and Ramondre Stevens. here, Ian.
37:26I think, uh, lower the flags for stuntman Chuck says, uh, sec man.
37:30Uh, yeah, it's, uh, it's tough. We hate to see stuntman Chuck.
37:33We'll talk about this more tomorrow, uh, with Adam Ronis at 9 a.m.
37:37Eastern. Again, the show for the rest of this week will be live on YouTube at 9 a.m.
37:42Eastern. And then in your feeds as normal, uh, my thing on, on Travion Henderson here.
37:47So one of the stats I gave in the preseason was that 25% of his rushing yards came on four plays last year.
37:54I mean, this is, this is the Travion Henderson experience.
37:56Like does nothing, does nothing, does nothing. Boom off to the races.
38:00And the fact that even after that fumble, Henderson, uh, Stevenson, I should say Stevenson still played on third down.
38:06And I'm just, I will tell you this and you tell me if I'm crazy, but next week I will still have
38:12Ramondre Stevenson ranked ahead of Travion Henderson. What say you?
38:15I'm going to have my head, but I don't know about you, but like they'll be closer, but like they're probably right next to each other.
38:23Oh, really? I see. I still think there's probably going to be like a, probably like a, you know, seven to eight running back difference.
38:30I haven't done, I haven't gotten into the rankings yet.
38:33So we'll see, you know, and we'll see sort of on injuries and everything like that.
38:38But anyway, I guess my point is, is that if you invested in Travion Henderson, you certainly feel a lot better about
38:44this tough game, uh, for Ramondre Stevenson, but I'm not panicking just yet.
38:48Again, I think he's got the veterans, uh, the coaches trust as well.
38:52And the fact that he still played on passing them, like, again, they just, they don't trust Travion in, uh, in past protection there.
38:59And that's important, Ian, as we get to our Sunday scaries, because Drake may and the passing attack, attack for the Patriots has just been bad.
39:06There's no other way to say it for the last two games.
39:10He's been brutal, 208 passing yards, zero touchdowns and interception, 17 rushing yards, eight fantasy points per game.
39:15Just like, I think if you, Justin Herbert's your only quarterback, you can't start him moving forward.
39:20You have to find a replacement. I feel like we're getting close to that.
39:24With Drake Maye, at least until AJ Brown gets back there at Jacksonville next week.
39:29Then they're at Buffalo. Okay. Home to Las Vegas, home to the jet.
39:32So the schedule gets a little bit easier after this Jacksonville game, but still single digit fantasy points.
39:38Now in both games, this season, one touchdown, four interception through two games, all four, all four of his interceptions, by the
39:44way, on, I've been on deep passes on, you know, 15 or more air yards, but you know, he's like a bottom three and passer rating.
39:52Like he's just looked bad to the eye test.
39:54He just, he looks bad. The offense looks discombobulated.
39:57They're definitely missing, uh, you know, AJ Brown, but like, are you, will you have Drake may inside your top 12 quarterbacks next week?
40:04And when you release your rankings, I do not think I will Matthew, which is crazy to say, because even last year,
40:10even though the playoffs didn't go that great, he still put up decent fancy numbers.
40:15It's NFL playoffs. So we don't pay attention to it as much, but 17, 15, 14, 17.5.
40:20Cause he was largely still getting there on the ground.
40:23We have not seen him average single digit fancy points in the game since the 2024 season.
40:28So shockingly low heights, but I'm with you, man.
40:30The whole offense just does seem discombobulated. The only big plays they were able to get going yesterday was really some off script stuff.
40:37Drake may able to move in the pocket, found Romeo Dobbs after the coverage broke down.
40:42And I'm just worried how sustainable that's going to be.
40:45They just lost their right guard to, I believe a fractured ankle for a chunk of time as well.
40:51Obviously it wasn't exactly a strength of a unit even before that happened.
40:54So it's not looking good, not getting reinforcements here for a little bit.
40:58The schedule does lighten up and I don't think Drake may magically became a worst quarterback.
41:03So I would say, you know, no one's going to cut him or anything like that, but I'm not selling Drake may
41:09bouncing back, you know, as the season goes on once AJB does get back in the picture, but for the near future,
41:16man, he's going to be outside the top 12 and it's tough to feel good about an imminent rebound.
41:21Millennial Falcon, 86, Drake may, the East coast, the East coast, Justin Herbert kind of, I feel that.
41:27I mean, he's, they've both been, they both came into the season as, you know, as, as QB ones is being drafted as QB ones with high hopes.
41:35And they've both been basically single digit fantasy points, mostly unusable, you know, pretty bad.
41:39By the way, just got an alert in Ben Johnson says, Caleb Williams quote, will likely miss some times, but it's considered
41:46week to week with a hamstring injury. So we prefer week to week, then talk to me in a month, or he's going to go on short term.
41:54My are wait week to week. We can live with.
41:57So at least some good news for bears fans and those that are managers of Caleb Williams or Chicago bears players.
42:03Bad day at the office. News or noise for Trevor Lawrence, no touchdowns, an interception, 189 passing yards, just 6.2 fantasy points for the traveler.
42:10Is this news or noise? I think it's just noise.
42:13I think he went and played a pissed off Broncos defense.
42:16I'm sure have one hell of a week, you know, trying to come back from that disappointing season opener against the chiefs.
42:23And yeah, he overcame this spot last time he played at the end of 2025, but this really is the only time
42:29that Lawrence has looked mortal for the better part of the last, you know, two and a half months of football going
42:36back again, entering this week, guys, going back to week 10 of last season, pretty good chunk of a sample size.
42:42They're number one in fancy points per game. Number one in total touchdowns among these quarterbacks, as Nick Ryan has coined over
42:48the years, the Prince who was promised was actually going out there and playing like the alleged general generational talent that we always heard about.
42:55So Parker Washington looks absolutely fantastic. Even Brian Thomas Jr.
42:58I know he had some drops yesterday, but I feel better about him in 2026 than I did in 2025.
43:04Jacoby Myers is the professional in the room that every offense needs out there.
43:08So no, I still believe in Liam Cohen. I believe in the T-Law town.
43:12I think he's got plenty of avenues to go with the football.
43:16Just one bad week for Trevor Lawrence. He's someone who will confidently be a top 10 quarterback for me, if not even higher here, moving forward.
43:24Completely agree. This is just noise. He'd scored at least 19 fantasy points in his seven previous seasons.
43:29This was a must win game for the Denver Broncos.
43:32Always a tough place to play. The former mile high.
43:35Yeah, I'm not worried about it. The traveler will be just fine.
43:38That's a, that is a buy low target. If somebody in your league is nervous about him.
43:43How about Dave Montgomery? Now, I was very in on David Montgomery in the preseason, and I took a victory lap after
43:50week one, not nearly as good here. Now, no Nico Collins here, but we thought, well, the, the inefficient would be masked by massive volume.
43:57Of course, the other problem is, is that he was inefficient in week one when he was good.
44:02Through two games, 54% of his fantasy points have been only from touchdowns.
44:06He played just 52% of the snaps so far this season.
44:09Literally for, on the year, he's played just six more snaps than what he marks.
44:14Six for 10 yards, six rushes for 10 yards, two for 14.
44:17Average just, he had just 4.4 fantasy points in this one.
44:20It was the Dalton Schultz show. Dalton Schultz, who we talked about on Friday's show as kind of a, and we talked about on Sunday morning.
44:28I'm doing a, Ian, I'm doing a Sunday morning show, noon to one o'clock Eastern every Sunday morning.
44:33Me and Alex Cupps answering other questions. We talked about it on that show as well, that we really liked Dalton Schultz,
44:40who had a big game for the Texans. But, you know, is this news or noise?
44:44David Montgomery's quiet day at the office. I think it's more noise than anything.
44:48Now I will say like, if you saw the three touchdowns from D-Mott in week one, you said, oh man, this is
44:55the rest of season, top 10 running back. Then yeah, it's certainly news from that perspective, but just a bad day at the office for a Texans offense.
45:03That will probably have a tough time consistently moving the ball for however long Nico Collins is going to remain sidelined.
45:09So seems like that's more of a week, a week injury itself.
45:13That's something that's going to be super long-term, but with D-Mott, even if the snaps are a little bit more even than Woody, make no mistake about it.
45:21He is the bell cow of this offense, particularly in scoring situations.
45:24So when we do see better days from CJ Stroud and the group as a whole, I do think we'll get back
45:31to having again, the touchdown upside that we saw in week one there.
45:35So the issue is this offensive line, Matthew, that we've been assured off season after off season has been fixed.
45:40Oh, we shuffled out these players. The new guys are going to be better.
45:45So when you're facing Dexter Lawrence and company, I get it.
45:48It's a little bit harder to move. He actually is PFF's highest graded interior defender through two weeks of the season.
45:54The good news though, this schedule coming up should be one that Monty can take care of.
45:59Colts, Cowboys, Titans, Jaguars, and the giants over these next five weeks.
46:02I know we guys still got some dogs in the line of scrimmage.
46:06Every defense has some blue chippers more times than not at some level of the defense, but D Mont for me, mid
46:13tier RB two coming into this week, mid tier RB two leaving it.
46:16Yeah, I think, I think it's noise. I agree with you.
46:20I probably have more as a lower end RB two, just because it feels like he's a little bit score dependent.
46:26You know what I mean? That again, you started him this past weekend.
46:30I think you still continue to start them. Six minutes left here.
46:33So we'll have to go a little bit more quick here, Ian, but what about Jeremiah love?
46:38He's played for the season. He's playing just 43% of the snaps.
46:42He played 11 fewer snaps than Tyler Algier here in week number two.
46:45He's averaging under 13 touches a game, just an 11% target share, which that's the weird one, right?
46:51And he's actually run 10 fewer routes than Tyler Algier on the season.
46:55So, you know, Jeremiah love nine for 29. He does catch three balls for 16 yards, just seven and a half fantasy points for Jeremiah love.
47:02Who's so many people were so excited about this season.
47:05News or noise on Jeremiah loves reduced role. Not that the Cardinals will be as bad as they were this last week.
47:11Moving forward. We've seen better days from Jacoby and company Seahawks obviously have a great defense there, but reminder guys, it's not
47:18like Jacoby came in last year and lit the league on fire.
47:21He really was by most accounts, still a below average quarterback in most ways to try and measure the position.
47:27But what happened? They would look it down by a couple of touchdowns and training, McBride and Michael Wilson would start eating all fourth quarter long.
47:35There's a lot more mouths to feed. Now, Matthew, when we're splitting up these running back touches, that really does complicate things.
47:41So I'm sure the number three overall pick will win out eventually, but is that going to be in week three?
47:47Is that going to be in week nine? I don't know.
47:51And I feel like anyone that says they do is, you know, maybe a liar.
47:55Yeah. It's concerning to their upcoming schedule. They're at San Francisco.
47:58Then they're at the Giants home versus Detroit at the Rams.
48:02So road games, three of the next four against some pretty good defense.
48:05Again, as we talked about the Giants do have a good front seven, the Rams are the Rams.
48:11So at San Francisco, New York Giants home to the lions at the Rams.
48:15I think Jeremiah love, you know, moving forward until we see more consistent work and we see something.
48:20I think he's more of a flex play. I think he's, I think he's, he's kind of a must start flex play
48:26because the upside, but I do think he's an upside.
48:29I do think, you know, I think he'll probably be ranked outside my top 20 for week three, right?
48:35Just based on how much Algier is getting used.
48:37Oh, you're with me. Okay. All right. Four minutes left here.
48:41Let's stay in Arizona on the Cardinals, Marvin Harrison, jr.
48:44Yeah. Supposed to be the, you know, one of the best wide receiver prospects going out.
48:48He was my number one pick in dynasty a couple of weeks, you know, years ago when he came out.
48:54Cause he was supposed to be, by the way, I also have Jeremiah love on that same dynasty team.
49:00I've been rebuilding here for a couple of years.
49:02This is supposed to be my year where I've gotten already, but then Harrison, Jeremiah love just killing, killing me one target, zero receptions, 0.0 fantasy points.
49:10He's run 62 routes this season. Ian, he's got full four total targets.
49:146% target share for the Cardinals, zero red zone or end zone targets for Marvin Harrison, jr.
49:19Is this news or noise? It's definitely news, man.
49:22Sadly, it's kind of the same news that we've been seeing here for quite some time now.
49:27So he did have some good moments though, last year.
49:30And that is the thing I would say, guys, like, is he a bus relative to the expectations that go hand in hand with number four, overall pick?
49:38Absolutely. But you know, he did go out there last year and we had these fancy numbers.
49:43I'm sure Matthew told you in the summer about how he still was outperforming Michael Wilson when they were both on the field last season.
49:50Problem is new offense. And that simply hasn't been the case.
49:53I just think, man, if you're not using this guy, go trade them at a certain point.
49:58They give all the easier stuff, all the motion, all the kind of layup underneath targets to a combination of Michael Wilson and Tramick bride.
50:06And they just have Marv out there being a sacrificial ex who hopefully can come down with the one or two contested
50:12targets that they throw him per game. So for our purposes and fancy land, like man, I ranked him.
50:18I want to say wide receiver 48, 49 last week, Matthew.
50:21And clearly that was way too high. So now we're going to have 50 plus guys likely ahead of Marvin Harrison jr.
50:27And the week three ranks shocking to me. I am not one of those people, obviously a biased Buckeye fan here, but
50:34I'm not one of the people who think that he only got this hype by being the son of the great Marvin Harrison.
50:40Go watch what he did at Ohio state guys.
50:43This still was a very special prospect, even if his name was Marvin, you know, has been rough more times than not
50:49when Kendrick Bourne is coming in there too. And all of a sudden making this one, a one B one C just that much more problematic.
50:57So really it's training Brian. It's everyone else in his Arizona offense right now.
51:01A little big man. Oh three says MHJ already on waivers and I get it.
51:06So I'm with you. This is completely news and he's unusable, right?
51:09Until we see production out of him until we see some sort of consistent production out of Marvin Harrison jr.
51:15I think he is, he's definitely not startable. And if I'm in a 10 team league, if I'm at a 12 team
51:21league with a shallow bench or a 12 team league that only plays two wide receivers, I have no problem cutting Marvin Harrison.
51:28You know what I mean? Like I'm just thinking if he was on my waiver wire, am I rushing to go grab him?
51:35Probably not unless it's a super deep league, but like, like that, that, uh, dynasty league, I mentioned to you, like I,
51:41I I'm really, I'm pretty good everywhere else, but I'm thin at wide receiver.
51:45I've got McConkie and I've been, I've been starting McConkie and, um, McConkie and Harrison.
51:50Um, moving forward, it's going to have to be like Dontavian Wicks.
51:53Who's like my third, I mean, like I'd rather Dontavian Wicks than, um, than Marvin Harrison jr.
51:58So it's tough scene for all of us that have MHJ in dynasty as well.
52:03Ian Harditz, we will follow you on X at I Harditz.
52:06Uh, we will check out the, uh, fantasy football with Ian Harditz YouTube channel.
52:10And of course, all your work over at rotowire.com.
52:13You're a scholar and gentlemen, my friend, thank you so much for, uh, doing this show.
52:17And by the way, your Sunday show with Dwayne, where you and Dwayne McFarlane of fantasy life recap, everything that you need to know.
52:24It's like a two hour thing is awesome. It's an amazing show.
52:28Everyone go check it out. It's on YouTube. Appreciate you, Matthew.
52:31You are the goat. And again, truly one of the nicest and best guys in the industry.
52:36So thanks for everything, brother. This was fun. Ah, my pleasure.
52:39All right. It's closing time, which means you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here.
52:44We're back tomorrow with Adam Ronis again, 9 a.m.
52:47Eastern for the waiver wire show, 9 a.m. the rest of the week.
52:51But for now, for Ian, I'm Matthew. We will see you tomorrow.
52:54Good luck with your Monday night miracles. Peace out.
