Player insights

24

Amon-Ra St. Brown

NegativeValue33:31

Amon-Ra St. Brown (25-to-1) is a high-floor fantasy asset, but the source believes he lacks the deep-threat ceiling required to win OPOY, as he consistently puts up 'mini-monster' numbers rather than the outlier stats needed for the award.

Insight page

Baker Mayfield

NegativeProjection59:42

The source notes that betting on Baker Mayfield for MVP is unlikely to be a viable path for the Buccaneers, as the team's success is more likely to be recognized through coach-of-the-year betting markets.

Insight page

Bijan Robinson

PositiveUsage25:04

Bijan Robinson (+900) is preferred over Gibbs by the source because Tyler Allgeier is no longer stealing his touchdowns. The source expects Robinson to see significant pass-catching volume from Tua Tagovailoa and likes the Atlanta offensive line, though notes the lack of a high-end quarterback could limit his overall offensive ceiling.

Insight page

Brian Thomas Jr.

NegativeRole69:14

The source describes Brian Thomas Jr. as the 'sacrificial axe' in the Jacksonville offense, tasked with stretching the field to open up space for other receivers.

Insight page

Brock Bowers

NegativeProjection28:43

Brock Bowers (66-to-1) is a tempting long shot for the source, who expects him to be the Raiders' WR1 and a target hog. However, the source refuses to bet him for OPOY because history shows tight ends do not win the award, even with record-breaking stats, as they struggle to compete with the volume and yardage of wide receivers.

Insight page

C.J. Stroud

PositiveProjection72:00

The source suggests that if offensive coordinator Nick Caley can get CJ Stroud back on track, the Texans' offense could exceed low expectations.

Insight page

CeeDee Lamb

NegativeValue34:38

CeeDee Lamb (30-to-1) is considered fairly priced by the source. He has proven he can produce outlier numbers (135 catches, 1,750 yards, 12 scores), but the emergence of George Pickens as a target in the offense is a potential concern for his volume.

Insight page

Dak Prescott

NegativeProjection61:44

The source expresses uncertainty regarding whether voters would actually award Dak Prescott the MVP, even if the Cowboys secure a top seed.

Insight page

Daniel Jones

NegativeProjection61:09

The source questions if Daniel Jones will perform well again, noting that if he does, it could impact the success of the Colts' coaching staff in award markets.

Insight page

De'Von Achane

PositiveSleeper27:35

De'Von Achane is a target for the source in fantasy leagues due to his 1,800 scrimmage yards and 12 touchdowns last year. While the source likes the coaching and offensive line upgrades, they are not betting him for OPOY at 40-to-1 because they believe the award is shifting toward wide receivers.

Insight page

Ja'Marr Chase

NegativeValue31:17

Ja'Marr Chase (10-to-1) is a top-tier candidate, but the source notes that even in his Triple Crown season, he finished third in OPOY voting. To win, he would need to exceed his previous outlier numbers, which the source finds difficult to bet at the current price.

Insight page

Jahmyr Gibbs

NegativeProjection19:46

Jahmyr Gibbs is noted as the current favorite for Offensive Player of the Year at +450.

Insight page
NegativeUsage24:39

Jahmyr Gibbs is priced at +650 for OPOY. The source notes the Detroit offensive line is currently around league average with Cade Mays out, and while the absence of David Montgomery could increase Gibbs' touches, the source is uncertain if that is a positive, preferring Gibbs' current role as an electric player with fewer, more efficient touches.

Insight page

Jared Goff

NegativeProjection73:41

The source posits a scenario where Jared Goff and the Lions' offense take a step back, which could shift the spotlight to the team's defense for awards.

Insight page

Jaylen Waddle

PositiveValue66:42

Jaylen Waddle is highlighted as a favorite OPOI long-shot bet alongside Nico Collins. The source emphasizes that Waddle has significant upside if he can stay healthy for a full 17-game season.

Insight page

Josh Allen

PositiveProjection88:58

The source cites Josh Allen as a primary reason for the Bills' high win total expectations, which makes it difficult for their coaching staff to win Coach of the Year.

Insight page

Justin Jefferson

NegativeValue33:56

Justin Jefferson (18-to-1) is a fade for the source because the Vikings have too many mouths to feed (Jauan Jennings, T.J. Hockenson) and uncertainty regarding how he will mesh with Kyler Murray's passing style.

Insight page

Ladd McConkey

PositiveRole66:53

The source expects Ladd McConkey to be the wide receiver one in the Chargers offense under Mike McDaniel. With Keenan Allen gone, the source projects McConkey could see 10 targets per game, provided he stays healthy.

Insight page

Lamar Jackson

PositiveProjection88:58

The source notes that Lamar Jackson's high-level play and the addition of Derrick Henry make the Ravens' offense expected to be good, which complicates the Coach of the Year narrative for their new staff.

Insight page

Nico Collins

PositiveValue36:16

Nico Collins (40-to-1) is a top target for the source. He has shown the ability to produce at an elite level during stretches and is the clear WR1 in Houston. The source believes he is significantly underpriced and has 2,000-yard potential if he stays healthy.

Insight page
PositiveValue65:18

The source identifies Nico Collins as a favorite OPOI (Offensive Player of the Year) bet, noting that the market is buying at the floor with 125-to-1 odds. The source highlights untapped upside in the new offense under play-caller Davis Webb, suggesting Collins could reach 2,000 yards and challenge records if he maintains an 18 yards-per-catch pace.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveSleeper67:35

Parker Washington is identified as a deep sleeper at 400-to-1 odds, specifically due to his role in Liam Cohen's 'power slot' offense. The source notes that in the final four games of the previous season, Washington was on pace for 1,930 yards and 13 scores. The source argues that if Washington is the primary slot receiver, he is significantly undervalued at his current price.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

PositiveProjection31:17

Puka Nacua (14-to-1) is preferred by the source over Ja'Marr Chase. The source believes his target share is more secure and that he has the potential for a massive season (135 catches, 10-12 scores), though they ultimately cannot bet him at the current odds due to the 5% win probability cap.

Insight page

Tyreek Hill

NegativeUsage67:01

The source references Tyreek Hill's production under Mike McDaniel, noting back-to-back seasons of 119 catches and 1,700 yards, to establish the potential ceiling for receivers in that offensive scheme.

2:13Ready! Alright, here we go. From the tent, throwing in zone.
2:16Spectacular catch! They're saying it's a goal! You see, most gamblers, when they go to gamble, they go to win.
2:22Oh my god, that's incredible! Big bank, small bank, I like to make money.
2:26Alright? That is the ultimate kibosh. You wanna bet?
2:28And we are underway! Welcome to the Action Network Podcast, presented by DraftKings.
2:32I am Jill Gallant, and I'm joined, as always, by NFL betting expert and futures analyst, Brandon Anderson.
2:37And today, it's time to dive into some NFL award markets.
2:41There's some of the most lucrative markets out there, Brandon, to find those edges.
2:45I think you've already proven that. And if you've been listening to us over the last few weeks, we've got all of
2:51our NFL ranking episodes up on the podcast feed now.
2:54So if you missed any of those, you wanna check them out.
2:58It may give you some hints and maybe indication of where we are going with some of these bets here.
3:04Now, also, written versions of all of these analysis for every award is gonna be available on ActionNetwork.com as well.
3:09And make sure to follow Brandon in the Action Network app as he tracks these bets as well as they are published.
3:16Alright, Brandon. Let's talk hardware. Because a lot of people, they immediately point to NFL MVP.
3:21I think that one, the award is so big.
3:23There's so many different narratives that come into play.
3:26I think we have to save that one for its own episode at this point.
3:30But let's do the rest. We're gonna have nine futures markets we're gonna dive into.
3:35But because of how deep we're going into this, we're gonna split this up into two parts.
3:40So we'll do a few today and then a few later on.
3:43Now, Brandon, you are the futures expert here at Action Network.
3:46I think that's undisputed. You've had so many great hits over the years.
3:50I wanna start with Defensive Player of the Year.
3:53What do you think? Do you think we should start with Defensive Player of the Year?
3:58Because when I read your writing, I feel like there's a lot of love in the grind and the research that comes with that award.
4:05Yeah, it's just primarily one of my favorites. You've been asking, when are the futures coming out?
4:10Boy, I hope you're ready. Have your pen and pencil ready.
4:13We're gonna be coming at you fast and furious with the names.
4:17And yeah, I think Defensive Player of the Year is the perfect place to start because this is an award that is not the sexiest, right?
4:24But it's usually one of my favorites. And you know, with these, we always kind of start in with our historical profile.
4:31What are we looking for in a winner? And why I like this one is because what are we looking for?
4:37The best defender that year. Hey, what a novel concept.
4:40What a great idea for an award. We're just giving an award to the guy that's the best defender.
4:45Who was last year's winner? Duh, Miles Garrett. The guy who set the all-time sack record with 23.
4:51Imagine that. Done and done. Easy winner. Why do I like that?
4:54Because it's easier to predict. As a batter, that makes things easier to figure out.
4:58It's a little bit less narrative on this one.
5:01We'll get into the narrative. That's opportunity sometimes. But we kind of know who the best defenders are, right?
5:07And usually, it's just one of the top three or five defenders in the league year after year.
5:12Including five of the last 14 winners in Defensive Player of the Year had won previously.
5:17So we have nine multiple-time winners in the awards history.
5:20We have three guys who won it three times.
5:22We know the names, right? You just read off the list of guys that won this award.
5:27And it's a who's who of the best defenders of the century, basically.
5:31The biggest name on the board has to be Miles Garrett.
5:34I think the conversation on Defensive Player of the Year kind of has to start and stop with Miles Garrett.
5:40Because you had brought up, like, again, breaks the NFL sack record with 23 sacks.
5:45Is the favorite around plus 450. He was around plus 700 last year, you know, and that closed, you know, as the season went on.
5:52But I think he's going to check a lot of the boxes for your criteria of what you look for in this award.
5:59Yeah, I mean, we're looking for sacks, first of all, here.
6:02Because with defense awards, you want the pedigree, but you also want the splash plays, right?
6:07And sacks are the easiest way to do that.
6:09With this award, edge rushers are king, usually. So we'll get deeper into Garrett in a second.
6:14But Average Defensive Player of the Year, just under 17 sacks over the last decade.
6:19So obviously, Garrett hit that box last year, 23.
6:21And it's the second time winning. He had 14 the previous time he won.
6:25Nick Bosa, 18 and a half. T.J. Watt, 22 and a half.
6:29Aaron Donald, he's back now. He won this three times in the last decade from a defensive tackle spot.
6:34He had over 20 one year. So eight of our last 10 winners had 11 or more sacks.
6:40Patrick Sertan and Stephon Gilmore, those are the other two outliers.
6:43That was basically like elite defense, best player on the defense sort of award.
6:47In a year, we didn't really have a great pass rusher.
6:50So we won a pass rusher. A few other of the predictive things we're looking at.
6:55Six of the last 10 winners finished top six in the voting the previous year.
6:59Name brand. And it's defense. We're not spending a lot of time on the side of the ball.
7:05We want the guys we know are good. Last year's top six.
7:08Miles Garrett, obviously. Will Anderson in second. Micah Parsons third.
7:11But he's going to miss a lot of time this year.
7:14Nick Benito. Aiden Hutchinson. And there was no six because we only voted for five guys because that's what happens in this award.
7:21We know who the best players are. So not a lot of options necessarily there.
7:25And importantly here, we'll get into this a lot.
7:28We want guys in the prime of their career.
7:31The average age of a winner the last decade is age 27.
7:34Half of the winners age 25 to 27. Every single one of them 24 to 30.
7:39In fact, 30 for Garrett was last year. That's our oldest winner since 2009.
7:43So you get a three in front of the number.
7:46We're already pretty much crossing you out usually. We're averaging about your fifth or sixth year of your career.
7:51Half of the winners in the last decade are year four or five.
7:55So right in that middle range, anything year 10 and longer didn't happen in the last decade.
8:00And last thing here. Importantly, it's not a team award necessarily.
8:04Only four of the 10 played for a defense with a top 10 points per game defense.
8:08Only six of them played in a top quarter of the league by DVOA defense.
8:13Average finish 11th in points per game, 9th in DVOA.
8:16So like a fringe top 10 defense. You don't have to be an elite defense.
8:20Look at Miles Garrett. His defense was fine. They were definitely the better unit on that team.
8:25Not hard to accomplish in Cleveland. But that's about it on that side.
8:29You do normally need to win games. Garrett was an outlier there.
8:33Typically in the last decade, every other player who won this other than him, nine wins or more.
8:38So over 500, average 10.7 wins. So bottom line, won a 15 plus sack guy on a 500 or better team.
8:44Hopefully in his prime, like mid to late 20s, prime of his career.
8:48And just a guy that everyone agrees is the best, one of the best defenders in the league.
8:53So you said Miles Garrett. Let's start with Miles Garrett because turns 31 in December, right?
8:58So there's your immediate problem with Miles Garrett. He's not the Browns anymore.
9:02We fixed that problem. We're not going to have any problem with the wins.
9:06But Garrett was already a pretty significant outlier last year.
9:09Our oldest winner since 2009. Five wins on the team.
9:12We love the favorites, but I don't know if I can bet the favorite here.
9:16We've talked about this a lot. Miles Garrett in a new system.
9:19He's been optimized. The best years of his career as that wide nine elite Jim Schwartz look.
9:24He's been racking up sacks there. He'll probably be pretty good with the Rams, right?
9:29He's a good player. I'm not going to say he's going to be bad with the Rams, but this has been a speed-based defense.
9:36Chris Shula plays a different sort of system. He's going to be more of a 3-4 outside linebacker.
9:41How does that feel for him? How does that come across?
9:44And the Rams had the second lowest blitz rate in the NFL last year.
9:48I'd rather go a little more blitz heavy. Give me some sack opportunities.
9:52They'll face a ton of high sack quarterbacks either.
9:55It's a tough division, obviously. And so here we have Miles Garrett, a guy everyone thinks is the best defender in the
10:01league, but he is going to be 30 and 31 this year.
10:05Age is a real thing in the NFL. Injuries come in as well when you age.
10:10He does now have five straight years with 14 sacks or more, and he's had four straight DPY finishes in the top four.
10:16So that's hard to fade. I don't like to leave a guy out of the portfolio, but Seth Walder has that ESPN sack predictor model.
10:24He's geared at 10.1 sacks this year. That's fine, but it's far off of last year's record pace.
10:29It's only the fifth highest in the league. I mentioned Aaron Donald.
10:32We'll talk about him. I think Donald showing up sort of splits credit maybe a little bit because Donald is so good,
10:39and now they kind of show up together. And so if the Rams defense is awesome, it's like, yeah, well, yeah, sure.
10:45They got Trent McDuffie and they got Aaron Donald and they got, you know, like he's one of the gang now, you
10:52know, they brought in the expendables, but he's, he's not the guy anymore.
10:56And last thing, only Lawrence Taylor, JJ Watt and Aaron Donald have won this three times.
11:00So that's the sort of category two-time winner Miles Garrett would be going into.
11:04Do you want to bet on that? Do you want to bet on a 31 year old on a new team and a new setting?
11:12It's such a short price. I'm going to use Miles Garrett's short price to open up odds for us elsewhere.
11:18So I'm going to pass. It's tough, but you have to start with the decision decision on him for sure.
11:23Yeah. And I think you, you laid out a perfect case here because he does check a lot of boxes, but I
11:30think you do bring up a good point about the attribution of success.
11:34How much is that going to be attributed to him?
11:37How much is it attributed to the revamped secondary of Aaron Donald plays well again?
11:41There's just a lot of factors in here. And then again, as an earlier of a freak athlete, as he is, you
11:48did mention going to be 31 by the end of the year.
11:51So if we say no to Miles Garrett, then how far do we want to look down the list?
11:57Because like you said, a lot of the time it's that pedigree.
12:00It's those guys that the perception that they are great defenders already.
12:04So are we looking at any sleepers? Yeah, this is usually not really a sleeper category for me.
12:09And I'm actually be betting two guys and they're next in odds.
12:12We'll get to in a second. I think there is a clear top three tier of defenders in the league.
12:18All edge rushers would be four, but Micah Parsons is the fourth and he's going to miss a chunk of the season.
12:25So I can't bet him next down the list.
12:27Guys, I'm not betting this year. TJ Watt, normally a mainstay in my bets.
12:32We know I love the portfolio here. TJ Watt, I still had a hard time passing on this year, but he's age 32.
12:38He's kind of proof of the thing we just talked about.
12:41We saw the drop off last year. The metrics really fell off.
12:45The sacks fell off. I'd still have him top five in this award just out of respect for TJ, but can't do it.
12:52Nick Bosa, the metrics are there for him, but he can't stay healthy.
12:56You know, we talked about all the pedigree guys for the 49ers.
12:59Again, I could see it, but I can't bet it.
13:02Nick Benito, Denver. We talked about a little bit of skepticism I have on him.
13:06Elite pass rusher. That's it. So that matters a lot.
13:09That's a really good skill to have as a that's it skill, but not a lot of run stuffing.
13:15So he kind of falls short in some of the metrics.
13:18I don't know that he'd be quite considered among the best players in the league defensively.
13:23Max Crosby is kind of the flip side of that.
13:26He doesn't always get the sacks. He gets like eight or 10.
13:29He plays every down. He plays like a thousand snaps a year, stopping the run, but we need some splash out there.
13:36So those are like the next tier down guys.
13:38And they're all really good. Jalen Carter, Jared verse, the up and comers.
13:42Dexter Lawrence got the trade this year. Brian Burns, what, like 16 and a half sacks last year.
13:47Those guys all make sense. They all seem like guys that could be finalists or maybe make it onto the ballot.
13:54But this is not really a sleeper award. If I if I was going to do sleepers, just three names to throw out for you.
14:01So I'm not betting these three names, but guys to keep an eye on Josh Hines Allen for Jacksonville.
14:0755 to one. He actually got up to number six in the PFF grade last year at Ed Rusher, and he had
14:13a 17 and a half sack season before. We like Anthony Cappanelli's defense could be a guy to keep an eye on there.
14:20Gregory Rousseau for the Bills, 150 to one at DraftKings.
14:23He surprised me a little bit. He's a fringe top 10 end by PFF metrics, but career high only eight sacks for him.
14:29OK, well, everyone's real excited about Jim Leonard, the new defensive play caller.
14:33You haven't gotten a lot of sacks in Buffalo because McDermott plays sort of a more come and get us style.
14:39Leonard's going to come at you and attack you.
14:42What if there's some new unleashing from him, especially with Bradley Chubb across from him?
14:46Sure, maybe I'm interested. I even had in my notes Byron Young, the other other other Rams guy here.
14:52He had 12 sacks last year. He was a top 10 edge by PFF grade.
14:56I think he's kind of a sneaky, interesting long shot for sack leader in the NFL.
15:01But let's be real. He's not winning DPOI on the defensive front with Aaron Donald and Miles Garrett.
15:06Like you can't bet that one, but he could get a lot of sacks.
15:10So look, that's a bunch of names. I'm not betting.
15:13That's going to be a bit of a theme in this podcast because I want to talk through the guys I'm looking
15:20at and the ones I'm betting and not maybe sack leader in some of these.
15:24But at the end of the day, I'm kind of staying near the top of the rankings in defensive player of the year.
15:31All right. So we can basically from 10 onward, just completely disregard the rest of that list.
15:36There's two guys, though. And we've talked about this on the rankings, the two teams that you're a little bit higher on on their defense.
15:43I think everybody is very consensus thinking about the Texans defense.
15:46And there is still some positivity looking at the Lions.
15:49Those are the two guys. Can you name those two guys?
15:53Yeah, those are the two. And those two are my two bets this year.
15:57So I mentioned a top three clear of group at the top.
16:00Miles Garrett for if you include Micah Parsons, once he's healthy, certainly I'd put him at the top probably.
16:06But the other two guys, pretty obvious if you're listening at this point, Will Anderson of the Houston Texans, Aiden Hutchinson of the Detroit Lions.
16:13So those guys, both of them are absolute bullseye for our criteria, what we're looking for.
16:18Will Anderson turns 25 in a couple of days.
16:21Perfect. He's year four of his career, just entering his prime runner up last year in defensive player of the year.
16:27To me, maybe out of all the awards we're going to do in these two podcasts, the most obvious no-brainer pick on the board.
16:34And look, I know Miles Garrett exists, but I literally have heard people say in multiple podcasts, man, if Miles Garrett didn't
16:40exist last year, Will Anderson is like a slam dunk winner, guaranteed unanimous across the board.
16:45He was already that good. He's the number one defense in Houston.
16:48He actually had the number one PFF grade last year for edge rushers ahead of Miles Garrett, the sack record breaker.
16:55Will Anderson was better last year by the metrics.
16:57You're going to get a top defense. He's an elite run defender.
17:01He does everything. Now he doesn't get huge sacks.
17:03He's only had 11 and 12 the last couple of years.
17:07So it does hurt a little bit that the splash isn't quite there, but he certainly could.
17:12Like it's in the mix and everyone knows how good he is.
17:15And so you sort of get both things here.
17:18I said at the top, the guys that break the rules often are the best guy defending on the best defense in football.
17:24That could just be Will Anderson too, on top of the 10 or 15 sacks and all around play that he's going to have.
17:31So at plus seven to 50, he's my top pick.
17:34Aiden Hutchinson though, I think is also a very much bullseye for this award.
17:3914 and a half sacks last year, the previous year, only five games, but a pace of 25 and a half sacks.
17:45Like we're talking about him as a possible Miles Garrett candidate and the lions.
17:49Again, we talked about being a bit skeptical there, but should be a 500 or better team injuries in the secondary to start the year.
17:56Maybe if you squint could kind of help here because you're going to need to be defending the pass a lot more.
18:03And actually Hutchinson played a ton of snaps last year.
18:06And so more snaps is more chance for sacks.
18:08You might not actually be the better defender, but you might just get more sacks kind of like Miles Garrett did last year.
18:15So Hutchinson fourth in PFF grade last year, first the year before.
18:19And I mentioned Seth Walder's sack ratings. He actually has Hutchinson as his number one sack guy in his model for the season.
18:25He had him last year. Number one as well.
18:28It was Garrett, but Hutchinson at the top of the list.
18:31So to me, it's these two guys, Anderson plus 750 Hutchinson plus nine 50.
18:35Those are just far too long for me. In fact, if you gave me just these two dudes, I would take those two versus the field.
18:43I have it basically even odds, Hutch and will against everyone else.
18:47So we get them instead here at a combine about plus three 70 betting those odds.
18:51If I think it should be a plus 100 instead, that's a no brainer.
18:55It might even be like a couple of units on each of these guys.
18:59I'd slightly prefer Will Anderson, but it's more like Will Anderson cash on another Will Anderson ticket for the year.
19:05We already were rolling over our money from rookie of the year a couple of years ago.
19:10We're flush. So let's just put it on defensive player of the year now and let it ride.
19:16All right. So Will Anderson at plus 750 and Aiden Hutchinson at plus 950.
19:20The 80 and Hutch show. It sounds like a defensive player of the year, buddy cop show.
19:25We need to start watching here. All right. So that's defensive player of the year.
19:29Will Anderson from the Texans and Aiden Hutchinson are the two bets that Brandon likes for that market.
19:34All right. Let's now move to the offensive side of the ball.
19:38Offensive player of the year, reigning winner Jackson Smith and Jigba at 25 to one last year, which is very impressive and current favorite this year, though.
19:46Jameer Gibbs with the Detroit Lions at plus 450.
19:48And I think it's important when we talk about this award, Brandon, because you'll dive a little bit deeper into the historical context.
19:55But I find a lot of the time when people look at these awards, they tend to only look like from a
20:02sample of like, let's say, the last 10 years.
20:04And I find that sometimes doesn't really illustrate how this award has played out over time, because again, we're older.
20:10So we remember what the 90s in football looked like.
20:13And pretty much this was a running back award.
20:16I think of Marshall Falk specifically with this award.
20:18And then after that, it started to become kind of like a quarterback consolation award, like from 07 to 2016.
20:24I think a Drew Brees winning it, for example.
20:27But then since COVID and really the last seven years, been pretty split with skill positions at four wide receivers, three running
20:33backs, obviously JSN last year, the years before, Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey.
20:37So just tell me about the evolution of this award.
20:40What should we be looking at it for now?
20:42Because I feel like it's just changed as generations change.
20:45Yeah, it's a good historical look in and it does like it seems like each decade or so we kind of take a new look on this.
20:53And the current meta seems to be this is the non quarterback MVP award, right?
20:58Because we're going to have the conversation sometime this year can fill in the blank.
21:02That's not a quarterback win MVP. Let me let me help you out.
21:06No, it's not happening. That's not what's happening. They can win offensive player.
21:10I think this is no longer a quarterback award.
21:12None of the last seven winners of OPOI have been quarterback.
21:15So that's the meta. And I think it's shifting toward a receiver more than running back.
21:20We had not had any receiver win this award since Jerry Rice 1993.
21:24Now four of the last seven winners OPOI have been receivers.
21:27And it makes sense, right? It's a passing league.
21:30It's also a little easier for receivers to put up big stats because one touch can be 20 yards, 50 yards down the field.
21:37One touch for running back might be three yards and broken in half at the line.
21:42So it's a little easier to stay healthy too.
21:44You get your eight touches a game as a receiver.
21:47You might equal the stats that the 30 touch running back is putting up as well.
21:52So that's kind of where I'm looking at this on the meta kind of too, as obviously everyone's in their fancy football
21:58leagues and daily leagues and everything like that. This is something like the fancy football league winner award, right?
22:04You just need insane outlier stats to win OPOI.
22:07Let me tell you the numbers from the last 15 years or so.
22:10If you're a quarterback, you're averaging over 5,000 yards and 47 touchdowns.
22:14Good luck predicting that one. If you're running back almost 2,200 scrimmage yards, 14 touchdowns.
22:18If you're a receiver about 135 catches, 1,800 yards, double digit touchdowns.
22:22These are once in a lifetime numbers. And our job is to predict it and bet it right now.
22:27So it's like we are having to predict crazy outliers, which means that this award is really tough to do at the start of the season.
22:35And here's something that's important though. And even as I kind of read others in the media choosing this award, there's a
22:41lot of like, well, at least we know about this one.
22:45It's all stats. You don't have to win. Are we sure?
22:48I think you do have to win because look back the last 15 years, every single winner of this award, 10 wins
22:54or more, really 11 wins or more. Now that we've added the 17th game average, 12.4 wins.
22:59Probably that's an average closer to 13 with the added game in the stretch.
23:03So we need high stats as a guy that is the engine of a really good offense.
23:08And that's why they're winning. So we need unpredictable outlier stats from an unpredictable outlier.
23:13Great NFL team. It'd be crazy if you think you could predict that, or in my opinion, to think anyone is like better than 5% likely.
23:20The NFL is crazy. If we knew how to do this stuff, you'd just be winning every fantasy league that you're in.
23:27So to me, how do we bet this today?
23:29Before the season, it's a marathon. This is the spot to take a shot on long shots.
23:34This is a spot to say, okay, what number will I not be able to get later?
23:39Because, oh, it's three weeks into the season and this guy is looking awesome right away.
23:44Man, I wish I'd grabbed that before. So that's the setup for OPOY is, spoiler, I'm going to not take some of
23:51these guys at the top of the board. I'm digging for gold and I'm going to look stupid on some of these
23:57picks, but I'm just going to take a shot at like quarter units on some of these long shot names here.
24:03Yeah. And the market is very mature at this point, a week before the season where, you know, the top candidates, they've been flushed out.
24:11They've been talked about, discussed on many different shows.
24:13So not a ton of edges there at the top.
24:16And since we're also just going to, let's just ditch quarterbacks out of the conversation completely because we're going to have a
24:23bigger discussion about that on the MVP pod. But running backs, because again, you did talk about wide receivers, but I want
24:29to talk about the running backs first because they still have won three of the last seven years.
24:34And right now at the top, Jameer Gibbs is set to be unleashed in Detroit.
24:39Bijon Robinson set to be unleashed in Atlanta. Are you even thinking about giving either of them a sniff, especially given maybe
24:45some of the winning profile may not apply to like a team like Atlanta?
24:49Yeah. I mean, look, these are the top two picks in every fancy draft for a reason, right?
24:55We're all expecting huge numbers. And by the way, a lot of people out there asking, what are my fancy advice for the year?
25:02Listen to this section of the podcast. These are the guys that we'll be liking in the fantasy.
25:07And I personally would prefer Bijon to Gibbs. Bijon is plus 900.
25:10Gibbs is plus 650. Gibbs. Look, we've been talking about kind of the slight trickle in the wrong direction for Detroit.
25:17The offensive line is around league average right now with the center Cade Mays out.
25:21No David Montgomery can be a positive because it's more touches potentially for Gibbs, but I'm not positive that that's what I want there.
25:28I kind of like that. He's been this electric, you know, guy with fewer efficient touches because he's so fast.
25:34He's a little more rested on those. I don't know if I necessarily want him to kind of have to hold up accordingly.
25:41Bijon Robinson finally has no Tyler Algier. I prefer that for him.
25:44Algier has been stealing my man's touchdowns all these years.
25:47So that might actually be a bit of a lower bar.
25:50And I just, I feel better about Bijon picking up those extra touches.
25:54And he's going to get a lot of those short passes to a tag of Iloa loves the short pass.
26:00It's as far as he can throw. So whoever is out there, Bijon is going to get a lot of pass catching.
26:06Both of these guys. Well, it's going to be a run heavy offense.
26:10I like the Atlanta line better. So I don't necessarily love the upside in what could be sort of a bad offense.
26:17The fact that it's no quarterback there is going to hold us back on both just great offense, touchdown opportunity and wins as well.
26:24But the problem here is both of these guys, you're looking to like implied 10 or 13%.
26:29I can't do it. It's just, it's too much confidence in a guy that look, somebody has got to be the first fantasy pick.
26:36And those are the right guys. But for this award and the outlier numbers we need, you can't just be a top five fantasy production.
26:43You got to be number one. You got to be the league winner.
26:47And I can't get there at that number. Jonathan Taylor last year looked great half of the year.
26:52I think he was the favorite for a week or two in this award.
26:56And then we saw what happens. The other half of the season happened.
27:00And that's why this award is tough because they just completely fell off.
27:04Saquon, McCaffrey, Derrick Henry, all guys probably passed their prime if we're being honest.
27:08And we have not actually had a non-quarterback win this award multiple times since the guy you mentioned, Marshall Falk, all the way back in 99, 2000, 2001.
27:16Three years in a row, different era. Man, if you played fantasy football in 99 to 01 and you had Marshall Falk, you just won your league.
27:24That's it. You have Marshall Falk. You win. He has like 25 touchdowns.
27:28It doesn't matter. It's not that year anymore. We don't have guys repeating like that.
27:32The one running back I really wanted to bet here.
27:35This is the guy to have in like every fantasy league.
27:38A Marion Hampton. The year two running back. You know how I love the Chargers.
27:43You know I love Mike McDaniel. And I want my Mike McDaniel weapon.
27:47Devon Achan had 1800 scrimmage yards last year. 12 touchdowns on a bad team for McDaniel.
27:51We like the offensive line. Hopefully, please stay healthy.
27:54Like the coaching upgrade. I think he could have a pretty big season.
27:58But he's 40 to 1. And there are 40 to 1 receivers out there that I just think are a better setup to win this award.
28:05So that's the guy I want in fantasy. But I just can't invest in running backs.
28:10They're being priced too short for an award that I think is moving toward receivers.
28:14Let's just put running backs to the side then for a second.
28:18Because there's another question I want to ask about pass catching in general.
28:22Not just necessarily wide receivers. Because Travis Kelsey and the emergence of that hybrid tight end that kind of becomes the wide receiver one in those offenses.
28:30Like I'm thinking Brock Bowers. I'm thinking Trey McBride.
28:32What do we do with those kind of pass catchers?
28:35Because they're getting elite output. From just they're basically being spammed almost every drive.
28:39Yeah, look, Brock Bowers is 66 to 1. And I have to say it was pretty tempting because you love a bit
28:46of a long shot price there for a guy that could catch like 125 passes and just get spammed all game.
28:52And you'd love to get the ticket on the tight end because there's basically zero history of a tight end winning any
28:58of these awards that we're talking about. And so you want to be the guy that says, but what about Brock Bowers?
29:05He is the one to be. No, lean on history.
29:08The model that we use for this is trusting history, not denying history.
29:12So I just, I can't bet a tight end to win the award.
29:15We have seen huge seasons from tight ends. We've seen it from rookies.
29:19We saw Bowers put up a huge season as rookie.
29:22Guess what? Did not win rookie of the year.
29:25He didn't get close to it because Jane Daniels exists and quarterbacks are just going to put up sexier stats than a tight end.
29:32So I think Bowers is the dude. I think he's wide receiver one for the Raiders.
29:37Kirk Cousins loves his tight ends. I think it's easy to see Mendoza, a rookie, love the security blanket.
29:42Kubiak's top receiver just won this award. JSN last year won it in the Kubiak system.
29:47So you can easily see the case here. JSN's yards per catch much better than what Bowers is going to be.
29:53So that's going to hurt the volume stats. He was over 50 in last year.
29:57Bowers grew 10.6. So even if we get the touchdowns and the catches, we're losing yardage there.
30:02That's like losing a third of the yards every time he gets a catch that JSN would have had.
30:08But even if we get aggressive here, double the touchdowns.
30:11Bowers only had five and seven in his career.
30:14Let's give him 12 this year. Give him 125 catches.
30:16Like I said, we're at like 1500 yards, 12 touchdowns.
30:19That probably is the greatest tight end season we've ever had.
30:23That beats out Gronkowski. That beats out Kelsey, Jimmy Graham.
30:26Guess what? Those three dudes got four combined OPOI votes in their careers.
30:29Tight ends don't win this award. This is not a great stats for a tight end award.
30:34You still got to beat all the running backs and all the receivers.
30:38And again, if I'm in an auction league, I'm dumping the cash on Bowers.
30:42I want this dude on my team. But I'm not an auction league.
30:46I'm betting offensive player of the year. I'm not betting tight ends.
30:50Yeah. And all three of those tight end examples, perennial winners, like when they were on those teams, Saints, Patriots, Chiefs.
30:56And I find it hard to believe we'll see even 10 wins combined maybe between the Raiders and Cardinals this year.
31:02But let's talk about wide receivers now then, because it sounds like you've narrowed your list down.
31:07It's a group of 10. How do you want to go through this?
31:11Yeah. So let's start at the top. Jamar Chase and Puka Nakua, I think, are the clear right favorites there.
31:1710-1 and 14-1 Chase and Nakua. Look, Chase already won the Triple Crown.
31:20I have to tell you that. He was your pick that year, and I know you're still salty about it.
31:26He led the league in receptions and yards and touchdowns.
31:29He had three games that year with at least 10 catches, 175 yards, and two touchdowns.
31:34All the same game. And didn't win. He didn't even finish second.
31:37He was the third place offensive player of the year.
31:40That's how hard this award is to win. And now the problem is you kind of have to beat those numbers, right?
31:47Like, we already know you can do that, Jamar Chase.
31:50Now you have to outlier your already outlier season.
31:52And that makes this tough, as does the 10-1 odds.
31:55It's a little short. Puka just had his huge season, right?
31:59129 catches, 1,715 yards, 10 scores. Even missed a game.
32:01And like Jamar Chase, he finished third in voting with that monster season.
32:05The targets, I think, are a little more secure.
32:08I prefer Puka between these two. Devontae is not going to vulture as much, I think, as T.
32:13Higgins would. He'll get the touchdowns, but less of the volume.
32:16Yeah, I can see a huge season from Puka.
32:19I do see a huge season. I could see 135 catches, 10-12 scores, 700 yards.
32:23He did that last year. We're here to win the award.
32:27So these were the two guys that'd be at the top of my list.
32:31But I already said at the top, I can't get above 5% any of these guys.
32:35And that's what the numbers are implying here. So I can't bet them, certainly, their names that would be in the mix for this award.
32:43And if you took the odds away, it would probably be my top two choices here.
32:47For the record, I'd go Puka over Chase. But some of the next guys on the list, Jason last year, I'm not
32:54putting him in that group just yet. Not as a talent, but on a stats perspective.
32:59If you look even last year, even the year he won the award, his last nine games, counting the playoffs, tougher competition, I know.
33:06But the pace of his season from nine games, 106 catches, 1,283 yards, and nine scores.
33:10That is nowhere near the numbers you need for this.
33:13He won this with the first half of the season, really.
33:17And then was good enough after that to keep it up.
33:20So teams started taking away that deep ball for them.
33:23Now Kubiak is gone. That just kind of shows us how transient these numbers are.
33:27To get these crazy outlier numbers, easy no for me at 20 to 1.
33:31I love Amon Ross St. Brown in fantasy. I love the high floor that he has, but he already hits the high floor every year.
33:38He's a top five guy every year. He hasn't really hit the ceiling.
33:42He's not catching these long bombs. He's not putting up monster numbers.
33:46He's just putting up like mini monster numbers, right?
33:48He's just, he's right there every year, but I don't see the ceiling.
33:5225 to 1. That's a no for me. A couple other guys.
33:56And again, these are all top 10 options for me.
33:59I can see it, but I can't bet it.
34:01Justin Jefferson, 18 to 1. He won the wide receiver triple crown already, and he won this award.
34:07But remember, we don't do this award twice anymore.
34:09We haven't had that since Marshall Falk for non-quarterbacks.
34:12And I think Minnesota too. There's so many options there.
34:15It's a lot of mouths to feed. You got Jawan Jennings now.
34:18You got TG Hawkins in healthy now. There's a lot of guys going to catch some passes.
34:23And look, I'm a Vikings fan. I'm excited to see what Kyler Murray does, but we have no idea how that's going
34:30to work with JJ or any other receivers. Can you hit him over the middle of the field?
34:35There's a lot of risk here for an 18 to 1.
34:38So can't do that. And from my guy to your guy, CeeDee Lamb, I think is the one guy in this group
34:45who I actually think is priced pretty fairly at 30 to 1.
34:48His last healthy season, he was third in voting.
34:51135 catches, 1,750 yards, 12 scores. Last year, first 10 healthy games, he was still on pace for 1,660 yards.
34:57Then he kind of got injured and it turned into George Pickens' season instead.
35:01Well, Pickens is probably the reason not to bet CeeDee Lamb because they can just go his way if they're taking CeeDee Lamb away.
35:08So I think the talent is there to be in the mix.
35:11I have him top five on my board. But those are all names that would not at all surprise me to see
35:18them win at the end of the year. They're just names that books also think that about and have priced accordingly.
35:24So I don't hate any of them, but they're not quite my guys.
35:28I got a few names left. All right. So by my count, that's six.
35:32All of them would probably be taken in the first round of your fantasy football draft.
35:37So I'm going to assume that those six, just given the case that you've laid out, you're probably not looking at them,
35:43just given where the odds are right now. But why don't you list then the four remaining guys that you think have a shot?
35:50Because it sounds like the odds are kind of speaking to you here.
35:54Yeah, so I've got four guys left. We're going to bet all of them here.
35:58And again, we're kind of sprinkling long shots here.
36:01So you're going to get some long prices. And again, if you're looking for fantasy advice, these are my guys I'm going for here.
36:08I'd probably have Puka and Chase in a tier at the top.
36:12Puka had. Then I'd go Amun Ra, St. Brown, CeeDee Lamb, Nico Collins, JSN, and Jefferson.
36:16Hey, there's our first name. Nico Collins, I think, should be right in the middle of that group with that next group.
36:23And I've bet him on this award before. I'm probably just going to keep on betting him.
36:28Absolutely belongs in that group talent-wise. And look, there's nobody else to throw the ball to in Houston.
36:33Higgins is hurt. We got Kendrick Bourne now. I think that's good because it takes a little pressure off of him.
36:39But you're going to pepper the guy that is your top target.
36:43And last year, he had a 10-game stretch where he was pacing for 1,425 yards, 150 targets.
36:482023, he had four games, 145 yards or more.
36:50We've seen him four stretches play at this level.
36:53We've just also seen him get hurt every single year and not have the stretches continue.
36:58Well, I want the ticket for the year that he finally stays healthy.
37:01And at 40-1, we're not pricing it right. He should be half that price at basically price like Lamb and Jefferson and JSN.
37:08That's why I told you those names as peers because we know they're going to win in Houston.
37:13And we know that they're going to have to throw the ball sometimes.
37:17And Nico is the target out there. And if the line gets any better, if the run game gets any better, that
37:24can actually open things up and actually give him some of those downfield targets that Stroud hasn't been able to throw before.
37:30So if we get to 17 games or even close there, I think this guy has 2,000-yard potential.
37:35I think he'd get to 15 touchdowns. He would absolutely be in the mix.
37:40To me, very easy bet here. As much upset as anyone in the second group.
37:44But we're getting double the price. It's 40-1. So Nico Collins, that's my shortest option on the board.
37:49I'm going to bet him. The guy that I can't believe his number.
37:53I had to like triple, quadruple check it. Jalen Waddell, 125-1.
37:56He's in my top five most likely offensive players of the year.
38:00I can't believe we're getting this price. And after those seven names I listed off fantasy-wise, he'd probably be the guy that I'd take next.
38:07He's the guy to want in every league. He's drafted wide receiver 23 right now.
38:11That to me is insane, given the upside here.
38:14We keep talking about Waddell a lot. He is the guy that changes everything for this offense.
38:19He's the speed threat they don't have. Bo Nix, for all I give him crap for, top three graded deep ball in PFF.
38:26And Waddell rounds out this receiving group, kind of shuffles everyone to the right spot.
38:30Sutton last couple years, tops out at like 80 catches, just over 1,000 yards and eight score.
38:35That's not going to cut it if we're replacing those sort of numbers.
38:39But plenty of targets go around. Troy Franklin got 100 targets in this offense last year because Bo Nix actually led the league in pass attempts last year.
38:4736 a game. Kind of a surprising stat. But if Bo Nix is passing that much, we have huge volume upside.
38:53And they won 14 games. You're passing that much from a winning game script.
38:58So if you're any worse this year, you might pass even more.
39:01So what if Waddell gets 150 targets like he did as a rookie, basically?
39:05We've never seen him with a quarterback with this arm.
39:08We've seen him with two his entire career. What could he do in this sort of offense?
39:13What if he even catches three or four 75-yard bombs in a season with his speed?
39:18Just that alone on three or four plays is 300 yards and four scores.
39:22You just get to add on your stats. And Davis Webb, the new offense play caller, just a new variable.
39:28Could go bad. We expect these to possibly. It's 125 to one.
39:31Of course it can go bad. But there's maybe some new untapped upside.
39:35So just a lot of potential up here. I think we're kind of buying at the floor already.
39:40And that there's every room that his speed, he could have like an 18 yards per catch season.
39:46That could put 2000 yards and the record in play for him.
39:49Just my favorite OPOI bet on the board. And especially at 125 to one, going to be my favorite long shot on
39:56any of these that we give out. I was excited to smash that bet if it was like 40 or 50 to one.
40:02And we're getting more than double that. So those are my two favorites, Nico and Waddle.
40:07And then just two more guys, even further along shots, if you can believe it, they'll go through a little quicker here.
40:13Lad McConkie. We know I love him. Another Chargers guy.
40:16I love my Mike McDaniels weapons. I don't really think McConkie can win this award.
40:21But I don't know. I would have thought Tyree Kill would have won this award.
40:25And look, he put up under Mike McDaniel, 119 catches and 1,700 yards in back-to-back seasons over there.
40:30So he is not Cheetah. He's not the speed over there.
40:34But we don't really know what McDaniels is going to do to open up this offense for McConkie.
40:39Easy to see 10 targets a game. We need him to stay healthy if he gets that sort of workload.
40:45Keenan Allen is gone. There's plenty of balls to go around there.
40:48I'll take a chance at the McDaniel weapon. And then the last guy here that is just buried down the list, he's
40:55not even listed at some books, give me Parker Washington.
40:58400 to 1 from downtown. Give me the Liam Cohen power slot.
41:01Last year, we traded for Jacoby Myers. Kind of settles this wide receiver room out.
41:06And so Parker Washington settles in late. And look, tiny sample I know.
41:09The last four games of the year for Parker, including the playoff game, he would have averaged out on pace for a 1930-yard season and 13 scores.
41:17And you look at Liam Cohen in history. The man loves his power slot.
41:21In college at Kentucky, Wandale Robinson, over 100 yards a game from the spot.
41:26Cooper Cup 2022 with the Rams. He was the number one fantasy receiver for eight games.
41:30Then he got hurt. He was on pace for 150 catches and 1,700 yards in this role.
41:35Chris Godwin, two years ago. Wide receiver two in fantasy.
41:38Threw seven games and he got hurt. 1,400 yards, 120 catches and 12 score pace.
41:43You might not think Parker Washington belongs in this mix.
41:46I don't really either. But did you think that about Chris Godwin or Cooper Cup or Wandale Robinson?
41:51Like this is about Liam Cohen and that power slot rule.
41:54You get Brian Thomas Jr. The sacrificial axe just like stretching the field.
41:58You get Jacoby doing the dirty work underneath. And you get Parker just making us money, hopefully in between.
42:03So I don't know if he's able to do it, but it's 400 to 1.
42:08We'll take a shot. I think with this way.
42:10If you knew Parker Washington was going to be the guy for Liam Cohen, if you knew he was the target there
42:17and the power slot receiver, wouldn't you think he at least should be like a 30 or a 40 to 1 sort of mix?
42:24So now we just need to bet on is there a 10% chance that he's the guy for Jacksonville?
42:30Because if there is, we get an edge on this at 400 to 1.
42:34And again, a guy that I'm going to have on pretty much every fantasy team.
42:38So those are my four bets. We're going deep diving on offensive player of the year.
42:43I love all these long shots, especially like Parker Washington, the way he's been talked about this offseason.
42:48You would not even know that they had Jacoby Myers on the team anymore.
42:52Ladd McConkie is going to be the wide receiver one in this offense.
42:56We know that with Mike Daniel. And then Nico Collins, he has that pedigree.
43:00We just need to see a full 17 games.
43:03Jalen Waddle, same thing. But all awesome bets here, great ways to build your portfolio for offensive player of the year.

43:53You know when people try a new food and suddenly it's like, okay, hold on.
43:57I got a new favorite food. That's the reaction a lot of people are having when they first try Kewpie Mayhem.
44:04Yeah, it's the one with the red cap and the little baby on the bottle.
44:08You've probably seen it at the grocery store. And this mayo is different.
44:12Most mayonnaise uses whole eggs. Kewpie only uses egg yolks, which gives it this rich umami flavor.
44:17It's smoother, deeper, almost buttery. Once people try it, they start putting it on everything.
44:21Egg sandwiches, fries, burgers. Chefs use it. Restaurants use it.
44:24People who really care about flavor use it. Put it on just about anything.
44:28Then you'll understand. And Kewpie, the original Japanese mayonnaise.

47:27DraftKings, the crown is yours. All right, let's continue our NFL awards talk, and we move now to Coach of the Year.
47:34Last year's winner, Mike Vrabel, around 8-1, and the favorite this year, John Harbaugh.
47:38Mike Vrabel. Let's talk about Mike Vrabel as quickly about football as we can, because I don't want to talk about what happened from March onward until now.
47:46Let's talk about just the last regular season with Vrabel.
47:49Defending Coach of the Year, four wins to 14 wins for the Patriots.
47:53They get all the way to the Super Bowl, and it's his second Coach of the Year win in his career.
47:59And there's kind of a through line here when you look at some of the winners here, Vrabel, Kevin O'Connell with Minnesota, Cleveland, Kevin Stefanski, Brian Dable.
48:07Of all of just kind of seeing that huge improvement in the standings.
48:11There has to be more to the criteria, but is that kind of what we're looking for here from a Coach of the Year standpoint?
48:18Yeah, I think that pretty much nails it. This used to be one of my favorite awards, but it's quickly become one of my least favorite.
48:26Because you have the jump in the standings award, but you also have this sort of weird narrative thing that's been hard to grasp here.
48:33And look, there's only 32 options, and we're going to rule out a whole bunch of them.
48:38But you sort of get at the end of the year, like four to six guys where it's like, yeah, he would be a deserving winner.
48:46And then it's just whoever the voters end up picking between them.
48:49I know that's the whole point of voting, but it's hard to decide which one of those guys is going to be
48:56and to kind of predict that part of the narrative.
48:59So, yeah, let's look at the criteria. Like you said, you've got to win a lot of games.
49:04You've got to improve a lot from last year.
49:07And then the narrative portion, you've got to beat your over-under, actually.
49:10That's how it turns out. You've got to surprise us how much you improved.
49:14Because if we know you're going to be good, that's actually not been quite good enough either.
49:19So here's the numbers. Nine out of our last ten winners won 11 games or more.
49:24They're averaging 12 wins. You pretty much definitely need to make the playoffs to even get a vote here.
49:29Nine of our last ten winners increased by four wins or more from the previous season.
49:34Half of them by seven wins or more. That's a lot of extra wins.
49:38The average coach in this group in the last decade jumped from 6.2 to 12.3 wins.
49:43You're basically doubling up your win total. Eight of our ten won four to seven games the previous year.
49:48So you kind of have to start with the lowest bar from last year.
49:53So there's room to improve enough. And then here's that narrative portion.
49:5614 out of 16 coaches since 2010 to win this award beat their over-under by two and a half games or more.
50:03You average by four and a half. Eight of our last 13 are at least four and a half over the win total.
50:09That is the narrative portion. We thought you were going to be bad.
50:13Hey, you're pretty good. Like you beat our expectations.
50:16And that doesn't matter because, look, Ben Johnson did not win this award last year.
50:20We kind of thought Ben Johnson's team was going to be good.
50:24So they were good. They just weren't like so good that they blew us away.
50:28They didn't totally shock us. We had Bears Island.
50:31You saw it coming with him a little bit.
50:33You kind of have to not see it coming here.
50:36So ideally, you want middling expectations. 12 of our last 16 coaches started with a win total of seven and a half to nine and a half.
50:44So basically like we don't really know. We don't know if you're going to be any good or not.
50:50The win total is somewhere in the middle. And then it turns out you won like 11 or 12 games and here you are in the playoff.
50:58So that's what we're looking for. A few other notes.
51:0110 winners in a row started 18 to one or longer until Vrabel last year.
51:05He was eight to one. So again, that's a little bit the tricky part here.
51:09If we see it coming like Vrabel or like Ben Johnson, then it doesn't count apparently for the voters because we have to be surprised ourselves.
51:17Five of our last nine winners were first year coaches on their team.
51:21Seven of the last 15, so about half usually.
51:23Well, we got 10 first year coaches. We'll get back to that.
51:27You don't win again on your same team. Not great for Vrabel.
51:30Kevin O'Connell, you mentioned. Sean McVay, they're past winners.
51:33You don't win again usually in the same spot.
51:36And then seven of our last 10 have been offensive minded coaches.
51:39The other three, Vrabel twice and John Harbaugh. I call them more like CEO types.
51:44No defensive play callers here. Last year, middling expectations, seven and a half to nine and a half win total.
51:50And we want them to jump at least four wins, get to like 12, 13 wins and the playoffs.
51:55That's what we're looking for here. Okay. So given the fact that there are technically 32 candidates for this, I think it'd
52:02be safe if we just based on that criteria, I think we just need to start crossing off some teams just so
52:08we don't even have to put them in consideration.
52:11Who should we cross out first if we do that?
52:14Yeah. So 10 teams, I think already have too high of expectations because the highest win total any of these guys in
52:20the last decade have started with was nine and a half.
52:23So let me just give you 10 teams right away.
52:26We're just crossing them off. Broncos, Chargers, Packers, Chiefs, Seahawks, Niners, Bengals, Eagles, Rams, Patriots.
52:31We already know those teams are really good. We already know their coaches are good.
52:35They're already at nine and a half or higher win totals.
52:38You can't impress me much. Like cue up the Shania Twain.
52:41It's not exciting. We just rolled out a third of the options just like that.
52:46Man, I feel like a woman. All right. Well, let's talk about the coaching changes then because first coach, first year coach
52:52rather, like because we had 10 coaching changes, like a third of the league changed head coaches and 10 of the if
52:59we take away those 10 teams, like that's 10 of your remaining 20.
53:03Are we kind of looking in that direction? That's where I usually start here.
53:07But even though we have so many, it's kind of a weird crop of first year coaches.
53:12We get three guys who are basically replacing legends, longtime coaches.
53:15And so sky high expectations there. And you get five new coaches with like rock bottom outlooks that might even be tanking this year.
53:22So let's start with the first group. Ravens, Bills, Steelers.
53:25The Ravens and Bills have win totals at 10 and a half.
53:28That's already disqualifying historically. You never win when you start that low.
53:32We already think you're going to be good. Sorry.
53:35Guess why? Because you have Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen on your team.
53:38So how impressed can we really be by Jesse Minter when he goes out and wins 13 games?
53:44Because Lamar Jackson is doing Lamar Jackson things and Derek Henry is doing that.
53:48And like, we already know they're supposed to be good.
53:51The Steelers technically fit a little bit better here at like an eight and a half win total.
53:56But they did win 10 last year. And if you need four more wins, you want to bet on 14 and three Pittsburgh?
54:03I don't. I don't need anything to do with that one.
54:06So I know that it feels like that it makes sense here, but this is just not who has won this award
54:12when last year's production or this year's expectations are that high.
54:16Then the flip side, there's actually kind of a low bar you have to pass as well.
54:21Remember, we want you to come in with like 47 wins from last year.
54:25But if you're below that, you've got a long ways to go.
54:28You've got to still get to 11 or 12 wins in the playoffs.
54:32That was part of our profile. So Browns and Raiders, five and a half win total.
54:37Cardinals, four and a half. Dolphins, three and a half on the win total.
54:41Go listen to our worst to first podcast. We'll talk about those teams there.
54:45It's hard to see 11, 12 wins. That's a huge jump for those teams.
54:49It's too low of a start because there's just not enough talent there.
54:53The one team you could give a little credit to here maybe is Titans.
54:57They're at six and a half on the win total.
55:00That's close enough. They're just outside their parameters. And look, if you want to bet on Robert Sala and the unholy tridumper
55:06of coaches, you're not going to get my blessing on that.
55:10So it's just too little to start with on all those first year coaches.
55:14A few other guys I'm going to cross off real quick.
55:17Jets, five and a half win total. Not a new coach, but basically in that same group we just talked about.
55:23Vikings, Jaguars, Bears, Texans. Probably you need 13 or 14 wins and a one seed to get those.
55:28KOC just won it. We know they don't usually win again.
55:32All of those guys are coaches we love. Ben Johnson, D'Amico, Ryan's, Liam Cohen.
55:36They probably should have won the last few years.
55:38They had a case. It's a hard award to win because you get like four possible winners and only one can do it.
55:45And I'm going to drop the Commanders and the Panthers.
55:48They technically fit. I just don't want to invest in those teams.
55:51I don't need 12 win Panthers and Commanders. So we ruled down.
55:55I think we're down to seven coaches now. Yeah, I was doing the math in my head.
56:00I'm like, okay, seven, eight. Okay. So part of the thing about coach of the year is that criteria that you mentioned
56:06with Vrabel and that jump in the standings and that books and the analytics are kind of anticipating that.
56:12John Harbaugh kind of fits all of that criteria.
56:15Not that I necessarily agree with it, but it just checks all of those boxes, right?
56:19So and then, of course, not to spoil our worst of first podcast, but the Giants were pretty highly thought of in that range.
56:26So how do we not look at Harbaugh then or what's holding you up for wanting to bet Harbaugh?
56:32Yeah, Harbaugh would be my pick. If I ranked all these guys like the way I do this is I start from scratch.
56:39I don't look at any of the odds. I do all my own rankings and research and Harbaugh was the top of my list.
56:46Not surprisingly, since we're on Giants Island, he's a perfect fit.
56:49He's a first year guy. It's New York. If they win a bunch of games, he's going to get attention.
56:55He's won this award before. We know the voters like him.
56:5810 or 11 wins probably puts you in the mix.
57:01And this is basically the same price as a Giants Island division ticket that we already took.
57:066 to 1. Here we are 6 to 1 plus 650 for Harbaugh.
57:10So to me, here's the question. Which one is more likely?
57:13The Giants win the division and cash our ticket, but he doesn't win coach of the year?
57:18Or the Giants get those 11 wins and sneak into the playoffs, don't win the division and don't cash our bet, but
57:24he's still the top coach of the year candidate?
57:27I don't really know the answer to those questions.
57:30But I've been burned on this one. As far as coaches, I'm like, man, you should win the award.
57:35We called KOC and had this great ticket and they won like 14 games or whatever and it still didn't cash.
57:41I'll take the one where I can guarantee the outcome.
57:44If the Giants have the best record in the division, they will win the division.
57:49That's how the awards work. So I'm going to pet that one.
57:52I don't blame you if you want to basically take the same odds and pivot the other direction here.
57:58But that's why I'm going to skip Harbaugh. Our last first year coach is Kevin Stefanski with the Falcons.
58:03He honestly kind of fits this criteria really well at 20 to one.
58:07He makes a lot of sense on the surface.
58:10You don't really have a quarterback. So he's going to get some credit if they can actually make it work and make
58:16that offense look as good as we think it should be.
58:20Here's the problem. Stefanski has won this thing twice already in the last five years.
58:24We're giving the same dude coach of the year three times since 2020.
58:28I just can't see that happening. So I have to cross him off the list for that reason.
58:33Yeah. And the two reasons that I think he even won was because those two teams were written off as dog shit at one point.
58:40And the fact that they, you know, Joe Flacco, comeback player of the year, and Kevin Stefanski kind of sweep the awards as a result.
58:48All right. Five teams left. Looking at around maybe Tampa, Indy, Dow.
58:51You know, there's a couple other teams here. What are we actually going to bet for this market that if we're not going to bet John Harbaugh?
58:59Yeah, I'm going to go with three guys here and build the portfolio a little bit.
59:04Two more I'm going to rule out quickly. The Lions, Dan Campbell, just won 10 games, went until nine and a half.
59:10Pretty high expectations there. Team that I'm not looking to invest in right now.
59:14If the Lions are the one seed and Campbell does it again with all the injuries and post Ben Johnson, absolutely a guy that could win the award.
59:23Just not the direction I'm looking on this team.
59:25The Saints, Kellen Moore makes a lot of sense.
59:28It's a buzzy team. They actually didn't even jump that far last year.
59:32They only won six games. So they can jump those four wins, get to like 11, get the division.
59:37It's possible. Again, just not a team that I wanted to invest in.
59:41A lot of injury risk up and down the roster.
59:44And why I don't want to invest in the Saints is because I prefer the Buccaneers.
59:49So there's my first bet. I can't believe it.
59:51Give me Todd Bowles for coach of the year.
59:54And we're going to prediction markets here. So give me the 2% on Todd Bowles here.
59:59Look, 10 or 11 wins is not going to cut it for Todd Bowles because nobody really thinks he's a coach of
60:05the year sort of guys winning this division. Not going to cut it.
60:09But I think the Bucs actually have a path to like 13 wins on the one seed.
60:14And now that's a pretty good way to recognize this team's greatness.
60:17You're probably not going Baker Mayfield MVP. I don't see the other award path for this team.
60:22And look, they're a middling expectations team. Here we are at basically eight and a half on the win total.
60:28I have them top half the league offense and defense.
60:31I think this is a really smart way to invest in a long tail upside for the Buccaneers at 2%.
60:37So I'm going to take Todd Bowles. I can't believe I'm doing it.
60:41I'm going to take Shane Steichen from the Colts as well at 3%.
60:45He was a buzzy choice mid last season. Had the number one offense in the league.
60:49Like historic rate offense. And everything fell apart. So what if they actually get it back?
60:54I don't really see it happening. But sometimes on these sort of awards, this is a way to invest in a team.
61:00Look, we're building portfolios. How many picks are we giving out between these award podcasts?
61:05We're not going to hit everything. What if I'm wrong about the Colts?
61:09What if Daniel Jones actually does look pretty good again?
61:12And they're good like last year. I think Steichen is a good way to cover our bases there.
61:17So he's that one. And my favorite of the guys here is your guy, Brian Schottenhammer.
61:226%. And we love the NFC. We went long on Cowboys in my preview with Stucky.
61:26Go back and listen to that podcast if you haven't.
61:29But top five offense or better. Christian Parker's defense hopefully gets them at least a league average.
61:34I think Dallas could be the one or the two seed in the NFC.
61:38If they are, it's Dallas. They're obviously a national story.
61:41So now, again, what's the award? Is it Dak MVP?
61:44Would voters actually do that? I'm not sure. But I think there's a lot of buzz about this coaching staff.
61:50They're only like a two to one in the division, basically.
61:53And look, we said we're not taking Giants. The hard part for me with taking Giants Island was I really like the Cowboys.
62:00So I think this is a way to kind of have my cake and eat it too.
62:05In Giants Island, the division. Let me cover my bases with Cowboys here and give me Shoddy at 6%.
62:11So it's a tricky award, but I'm going to just split a small investment here.
62:15Schottenheimer, 6%. Steichen, 3%. Bowles, 2% in the prediction markets.
62:18I think we get three of basically like 10 or 12 guys that can actually win this award.
62:23And that gives us a pretty good corner only at 11% invested here.
62:27Right. And if anything, too, like, I mean, you could argue that those could be three decent candidates for first coach fired,
62:33depending on how the first couple months of the season goes for all those three.
62:38But that being said, the three bets that we're looking at for coach of the year, that is going to be Todd
62:44Bowles with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Shane Steichen with the Indianapolis Colts, and Brian Schottenheimer with the Dallas Cowboys.
62:50Let's stick with coaching, though. We'll round out this part here with assistant coach of the year.
62:55Last year, Josh McDaniels was part of Mike Vrabel's staff.
62:58He took this award and a favorite this year, Mike McDaniel with the Los Angeles Chargers.
63:02Now, this award has been around for a while, but it's only been readily available to bet like in the last couple seasons.
63:09Like Todd Bowles, we just mentioned, like he won that back in 2014 as an assistant with the Cardinals.
63:15When we did the coaching rankings, like we went through, you know, all 32 coaching staffs.
63:19We had 32 coaches, OCs, defensive coordinators. I just have to ask for the sanity.
63:24You did not actually go through like all 64 OCs and DCs to try to narrow this down, right?
63:29I did look at all 64 names. We're not going to rule out 64 options here.
63:34In part, some of the guys who are head coach play callers, they're not really options here.
63:39So it's really more like 40 or 50 options.
63:42We're not going through all of those either. In part, because I think we actually can build a bit of a historical profile here.
63:49And there are a lot of guys that history says, even though it's a short amount of history, have maybe zero win equity.
63:56And I think there's actually a lot of value that could be on this award.
64:00So about the profile though, because again, we do have history.
64:03We just haven't, don't necessarily have the betting, like the historical odds history.
64:07But based on this, like what we've seen the winners over the last few years, like what kind of profile or pattern
64:13would you see that takes this award? Yeah. So Josh McDaniels and Ben Johnson as offense the last two years, D'Amico Ryans
64:20and Jim Schwartz on defense the previous two years.
64:23I'm not finding a pattern offense or defense. There's six offense, six defense in kind of random order.
64:28I don't think we're going to get a lot of help there.
64:31So unfortunately we can't knock out half the field that way.
64:35That's a bummer. It's like, if you play the game, guess who, when you're a kid and you're like, is your personal woman?
64:41And man, do you hope the answer is not yes for that?
64:45You were losing that game. If your person, they even it out now, now it's half and half, but still you can knock out half the field.
64:53We can't do that here. You do have to win games dot like it's kind of like similar coach of the year.
64:59You're averaging about 12 and a half wins and a almost four win improvement, 3.7 over last year.
65:04So obviously you got to have that kind of surprise coach of the year factor in, and you want your side of the ball to stand out.
65:12So typically the guy that wins this, their side ranks fourth in points per game.
65:17The other side ranks 10th on average. So you're the better unit.
65:20Duh. That's why we're trying to reward you for your work here for nine of our 12 winners.
65:26Their units, the better one by an average of about 11 spots in the rankings.
65:30So like if you're the fourth best offense, you had the 15th best defense.
65:34Yeah. It turns out we want to reward you for looking good that way.
65:38So we're looking for a coordinator of probably like a 12 win team or better than improved by four wins leading a
65:45lopsided team where their unit is elite and carrying the team.
65:48But then here's the thing that I found really interesting.
65:51So nine of the 12 guys that have won this award won it in their first two years at the position at their coach spot here.
65:58Half of them first year. Half of them not first year.
66:02The average is 1.8 years of tenure. So here's where it's interesting.
66:05So we got six first year coordinators. All but one of those guys are failed head coaches.
66:10Guys that return to their old job. Josh McDaniels.
66:13Perfect example. Terrible head coach. You don't want him there.
66:16Pretty good play caller. He's the winner from last year.
66:19So you go back to a job that you got called up to.
66:22It didn't work out for you. You're back down to AAA.
66:26Hey, you're pretty good at this job. Notably zero first year play callers that are the rising star without the reputation.
66:32And that is a lot of our candidates this year.
66:35On the flip side, six non first year guys.
66:37All but one of those guys were young rising play callers in year two or year three.
66:42The other one was year four. That was Vic Fangio.
66:45So these are the guys that become future head coaches in all likelihood because they're the rising star.
66:51But they're rising in year two or year three.
66:53They're not winning it in year one. So this is what is fascinating on this award because listen to the coaching podcast.
67:00We went long on these dudes. Declan Doyle, Baltimore OC.
67:03Jim Leonard, Buffalo defense. Christian Parker. We just mentioned him with Dallas.
67:06Sean Mannion with the Eagles on offense. Davis Webb, Broncos offense.
67:09Everyone's excited about these guys. Everyone wants to grab those tickets and look at the tickets.
67:14Doyle, 13 to one. Webb, 16 to one. Mannion, 18.
67:17Parker, 19. I'm crossing them all off. There is zero historical precedence for a player, a coach like that winning this award.
67:23And I'm betting on history. It doesn't mean it can't happen, but it's not what has happened.
67:28On the other end of the equation, Vic Fangio, 10 to one.
67:32Vance Joseph, 11 to one. Brian Flores, 16 to one.
67:35I don't even have to tell you what teams those guys are on.
67:39We know how good those defenses are going to be and how good those coaches are.
67:43There is not precedent for that sort of coach winning this award.
67:47This is not a lifetime achievement award. You got to step it up and be the hot young coach or be the failed coach.
67:54And look, those guys have been failed coaches before.
67:57That's how they got back to their job, but they missed the window.
68:00They were supposed to win this year one of the award.
68:04Now they're just going to bend around there. So Fangio and Joseph, they're second and third in the odds.
68:09If you look at the odds board for this one, top 10, I just ruled out eight of the top 10 guys on the board by historical standards.
68:17And I know it's a lot of names you think should win.
68:21I do too. I think they should win also.
68:24But history says otherwise. And if we're right, that means there's maybe huge opportunity for betters here.
68:29If we're just crossing off almost the entire top 10 list on the board.
68:33Okay. So a lot of criteria to digest there just to make sure that I fully understand a code of what we look for here.
68:40Because when we cut the field down like that, the two categories that really kind of really stand out is that failed
68:46head coach is kind of returning to the job.
68:49Like we have 10 fired head coaches. So like, what are the options here?
68:53Like, I don't know what to do. Yeah. I hate to tell you, but let me give you some options.
68:59New Jets offensive coordinator, Frank Reich. How about new Titans offensive coordinator, Brian Dable?
69:03What is the reason these guys are fired coaches?
69:06Reich, obviously not last year. Niners defensive coordinator, Raheem Morris.
69:09Maybe not quite as bad of a taste in your mouth, but these are not fun choices.
69:14You're not going to convince me or me, you to bet on a Reich or Dable.
69:18And those teams are not winning enough anyway. Morris, he's going to win, but the offense is the better unit there.
69:25Fred Warner is back. Nick Bosa is back. I don't know.
69:28We're going to give Raheem Morris credit for those guys playing again.
69:31Can't get there on those guys. We can't get there on one obvious guy.
69:35Again, I didn't rank all 64. There is a clear, obvious favorite who should win this award.
69:40And it's our guy, Mike McDaniel. And he is the favorite.
69:44He's plus 450. He's, there is your fired head coach.
69:47Look at the, the setup is just perfect here.
69:49You get a guy who was building all these great offenses and just the locker room parts of the other stuff with the coaching.
69:56It didn't seem like the right fit for him, but we know we can call a player, right?
70:01I think he's still a top five play caller.
70:04Everyone's talking. Everyone will be watching this team. We just spent two weeks talking about the chargers improvement on the staff and
70:11on the offensive line and just the offense overall obvious pick here.
70:14Easily my favorite for this award, but he's plus 450.
70:17That is implied 18%. There's 50 like options for this award.
70:20That would be about 2% per person. I can't do it, man.
70:24I can't at 18% just go out and bet the odds, you know, favorite here.
70:28And look, we've got other options because I made my list and we're going to about to get to them in a second.
70:35But my top seven, I've got McDaniel at the top of the list.
70:39And I was like, great. So does everyone else.
70:41No value there. Spoiler, the next six names on my list were nowhere near the top of the list.
70:47So that's where I'm looking. Well, Mike McDaniel makes sense as the obvious golden child, especially given what we saw in Miami's
70:53offense to his limitations, all that good stuff. But plus 450.
70:57No, we're not going to do that at this time of the year.
71:00Let's do some long shots then because that's what we've done for every award so far.
71:05You've got a few lined up for here. So give me some long shot assistant coaches we can nail for this award market.
71:12All right, we're building a portfolio and I am actually indeed betting six dudes.
71:16My number two through number seven on my list.
71:19We're sprinkling the field because it's a quarter unit on each.
71:22And again, if we're right that the odds board is totally wrong, then there's a lot of value here and we're going
71:28to have a hard time predicting it. So I'm taking six shots at it.
71:32And for the third time on the podcast, I rocked the tight or the Houston Texans shirt today.
71:38We're taking Houston Texans offensive coordinator, offensive coordinator, Nick Caley, 45 to one, actually the shortest of our long shots here.
71:44I'm going to reverse order from who I like least to most.
71:47So I don't love investing in Houston's offense. I'll be honest.
71:51The defense is clearly the better unit. So that doesn't exactly fit what we like, but it's such a big story that
71:57what if he gets CJ Stroud back on track?
72:00What if this offense is like kind of good?
72:02Like they're the perception is so low on them.
72:05It's low hanging fruit. And he does have interesting pedigree and a lot of coaching tree in the background.
72:10If they can even be like a top 10 or 15 offense, I think this is a coach that would get some attention.
72:17Next up Patriots defensive coach, Zach Kerr, 50 to one.
72:20He's kind of a buzzy name. He got the team to the Superbowl.
72:24And I think this was the better unit in the playoffs, this defense carried.
72:28And what if that continues this season? We talked about a lot of names on the defense.
72:33I like this defense a lot. I ranked them higher than I ranked the Patriots offense.
72:38If that happens, could Zach Kerr get some of the noise here?
72:41Pittsburgh Steelers defensive coordinator, Patrick Graham, 80 to one.
72:44Technically we're cheating on this one. He's year one.
72:47He's not a fired head coach. I think he's a future head coach, but he's kind of failed his way up on
72:53getting from the Raiders to the Steelers. That's a nice promotion for me.
72:57If I'm going to Pittsburgh now, I've heard a lot of buzz about him.
73:01And if the Steelers do win 12 or 13 games, we don't want to reward Aaron Rodgers or Mike McCarthy.
73:07It's going to be because of the defense. Why not let it be Patrick Graham?
73:11So sort of cheating and slipping him in here at 80 to one, three more Calvin Shepard defense, Detroit lines, 50 to one.
73:18And we talked about the injuries there in the secondary, but they just keep putting out top DV away, like fringe top 10 with this group.
73:26And this is a defense that should get healthy later in the year.
73:29That means peaking later in the year when voters are looking to get out some votes.
73:34And if Jared Goff and the offense take a bit of a step back, but the lines defense kind of carries a little bit.
73:41I think that could put them in the mix.
73:44They're 50 to one, a guy that has been talked as a future coach saints defensive coordinator, Brandon Staley, 55 to one.
73:50I think we kind of get both sides here fired head coach and sort of a buzzy name.
73:55I wouldn't be surprised if he got another shot here too far down the line.
74:00The saints defense, not the offense. That was the big jump for them last year.
74:04If I'm wrong on the saints, I think it'll be because the defense was even better than I thought.
74:10So this gives us a shot there. And then my favorite out of these six, our guy, Clayton Adams with the Cowboys 50 to one, a bullseye.
74:18So we're going to, we're going to double up on Cowboys.
74:21We already took Schottenheimer earlier. This is the buzzy name.
74:24He was at Arizona Cardinals with a creative run game.
74:27We did the same thing with Dallas last year, obvious media story, a name you're going to hear a lot about on all the podcasts this year.
74:35Breakout offense. This offense clearly the better unit. We hope Christian Parker side gets better.
74:39Christian Parker year one, not the guy that wins this Clayton Adams year two.
74:43That's the guy that can win this. So I love this as a way to invest in the Cowboys.
74:49We are looking for ways to say, how can we get some long upside on the Cowboys?
74:54I think this is the way. And by the way, last year, Rabel and McDaniels both just won the award together.
75:00So yeah, I'm fine betting Schottenheimer coach and Clayton Adams assistant coach.
75:03They can both win. It just happened last year.
75:06So here are the six Clayton Adams, Brandon Staley, Kelvin Shepard, Patrick Graham, Zach Kerr, Nick Kaley.
75:11And yes, I am betting all six of them.
75:14They're all year two, except one. They're all 45 to one or longer 0.25 units each.
75:18We're building a portfolio. Let's have some fun. All right.
75:21Assistant coach of the year. We got a six long shots lined up.
75:25Now, Brandon, before we get out of here, let's get to your favorite bet from the show today presented by DraftKings.
75:31What do you like? Got to be Will Anderson, right?
75:34Rocking the Texans shirt. It's Will Anderson, defensive player of the year.
75:38Just the obvious bull. I didn't have to do any work on that one.
75:42He was the first name I was thinking about on awards anyway.
75:45He's the guy. All right. Will Anderson, defensive player of the year from the Houston Texans.
75:50And you can tail Brandon's favorite play today, or you can wait until tomorrow, September 2nd, because DraftKings is bringing something big to celebrate the return of football.
