Aaron Jones

NegativeInjury88:41

Aaron Jones logged a full practice on Friday, which was a positive surprise to the source. The source notes that his usage has been heavier than expected, moving away from a pass-catching-only role.

Insight page

Adonai Mitchell

PositiveUsage31:00

Adonai Mitchell is a strong fantasy asset, averaging 7.5 targets per game with a 25% target-per-route rate and over 100 air yards per game. Despite a finger injury, he is expected to play.

Insight page

AJ Barner

NegativeUsage100:52

A.J. Barner is a potential goal-line option for Seattle, but the source is skeptical about relying on him due to the team's tendency to get 'kitschy' with tight end usage.

Insight page

Alvin Kamara

PositiveRole68:46

The source notes that Alvin Kamara is playing like a lead back for the Saints and has effectively taken over the high-value work in the backfield.

Insight page

Baker Mayfield

NegativeBust91:57

The source advises against trusting Baker Mayfield against the Vikings' defense, citing his tendency to hold the ball loosely, which makes him prone to turnovers against aggressive defenses.

Insight page

Brock Bowers

PositiveInjury67:48

The source believes Brock Bowers is a must-start if he plays, even if he is limited to a 30% snap count, due to his talent and impact on the offense.

Insight page

Bryce Lance

PositiveUsage65:17

The source highlights that Bryce Lance is in the top 10 in the NFL in total routes run and has earned five targets, indicating a significant role in the Saints' fast-paced system.

Insight page

Bryce Young

PositiveProjection2:39

The source suggests starting Bryce Young over Joe Burrow this week, citing a significantly better matchup for Young.

Insight page

Bucky Irving

NegativeUsage93:25

Bucky Irving is on a pitch count to maintain health and the team intends to ride the hot hand, which the source expects will limit him to around 15 touches against a tough defense.

Insight page

Cam Ward

NegativeUsage70:01

The source describes Cam Ward's recent tape as some of the worst you will see, specifically noting his tendency to throw off his back foot while backpedaling in the red zone. The source advises fantasy managers to run away from all Titans players due to systemic issues.

Insight page

Chris Bell

PositiveSleeper78:15

The source recommends Chris Bell as a speculative waiver wire add, noting he is integrating into the offense faster than anticipated following an injury.

Insight page

Chris Godwin

PositiveProjection92:32

Chris Godwin is the most trusted Buccaneers receiver for the upcoming week, though the source notes his fantasy ceiling is likely capped around 15 points in PPR formats.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

NegativeUsage79:04

While Christian McCaffrey remains a must-start, the source notes his usage is trending down compared to last year, with fewer touches in week two than week one. The source expects a lower ceiling (18-19 points) than his previous elite production (23-25 points) due to the team salting away games with Kalen Black.

Insight page

Chuba Hubbard

PositiveUsage2:33

With Jonathan Brooks heading to IR, Chuba Hubbard is positioned for elite utilization and is considered a very solid starter for this week.

Insight page

D.J. Moore

PositiveProjection28:28

DJ Moore is a must-start if he is active, despite being a game-time decision with a limited practice.

Insight page

Dalton Schultz

PositiveUsage36:08

With Nico Collins officially out, Dalton Schultz becomes a must-start tight end, as he is expected to see a significant increase in target volume.

Insight page

Denzel Boston

NegativeUsage3:27

Denzel Boston has double-digit targets and at least 14 yards per target, but reliance on him is questionable given the uncertainty surrounding Deshaun Watson's status as the starter.

Insight page

DK Metcalf

PositiveUsage15:21

DK Metcalf is struggling significantly, averaging only 3.5 yards per target, which ranks 161st among pass catchers.

Insight page

Drake Maye

NegativeProjection23:30

Drake Maye is currently struggling, drawing comparisons to Justin Herbert as a player who was expected to be an MVP candidate but is currently performing like a 'DNP' (Do Not Play).

Insight page

Emanuel Wilson

NegativeUsage61:58

Emmanuel Wilson looked solid with 20-plus touches last week, but the source worries he will be stuck in a timeshare that limits his fantasy upside.

Insight page

Emmett Johnson

PositiveSleeper81:07

The source suggests Emmitt Johnson is a good streaming option for those desperate for points, as he could see significant work in the second half.

Insight page

Geno Smith

PositiveValue34:01

Geno Smith is a recommended streaming quarterback option this week, particularly given the recent wave of quarterback injuries. He is considered safer and more predictable than Jameis Winston or Daniel Jones.

Insight page

George Kittle

PositiveProjection73:33

George Kittle is performing well and evolving into the player expected, though the source notes that his production may still come with some boom-or-bust volatility.

Insight page

George Pickens

PositiveValue72:51

Despite recent efficiency struggles and drops, the source strongly advocates keeping the faith with George Pickens, citing his high target share and unrealized air yards.

Insight page

Harold Fannin

NegativeProjection5:10

Harold Fannin Jr. is currently an okay fantasy option, but his ceiling is capped by the Browns' inefficient offense and low play volume; he may become a better option if Deshaun Watson is replaced.

Insight page

Ja'Marr Chase

NegativeProjection14:01

Jamar Chase remains a must-start player regardless of the difficult matchup against the Steelers.

Insight page

Jadarian Price

NegativeUsage62:03

The source expresses concern about Jadarian Price's workload, noting he is likely to play but faces a potential timeshare that caps his upside, especially given his questionable health status.

Insight page

Jahmyr Gibbs

PositiveProjection64:12

The source briefly suggests that fantasy managers should consider starting Jahmyr Gibbs.

Insight page

Jake Ferguson

NegativeRole72:35

The source believes Jake Ferguson takes a back seat to George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb, meaning he likely needs a touchdown to be fantasy-relevant.

Insight page

Jameis Winston

NegativeBust39:47

Jameis Winston is not a viable long-term fantasy quarterback. His performance is highly unpredictable, and he often fails to produce consistent yardage or touchdowns even when given first-team reps.

Insight page

Jameson Williams

NegativeBust33:04

Jameson Williams is a frustrating fantasy start; despite a 95% route participation rate, he has failed to convert opportunities, catching only 6 of 13 targets with minimal deep-ball efficiency.

Insight page

Jaxon Smith-Njigba

PositiveBreakout63:52

The source highlights Jaxon Smith-Njigba's elite efficiency metrics, including a 44% target per route run and 5.5 yards per route run, and strongly recommends starting him.

Insight page
PositiveProjection100:37

The source insists that Jaxon Smith-Njigba is a must-start and warns against sitting him, regardless of the matchup.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

PositiveUsage12:17

With Rico Dowdle potentially out, Jalen Warren sees a significant boost in value, with the potential for high reception volume in the upcoming matchup.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

NegativeInjury75:24

Jeremiah Love is being managed cautiously due to a preseason high ankle sprain, which is negatively impacting the fantasy value of both him and Tyler Allgeier in the Cardinals' backfield.

Insight page

Joe Burrow

NegativeProjection13:24

Joe Burrow faces a tough matchup against a strong Steelers defense, leading to concerns about his fantasy output this week.

Insight page

Jordan Addison

NegativeBust95:46

Jordan Addison is struggling significantly, with only two receptions for 21 yards on over 50 routes run. The source suggests holding him for now but notes that the return of Jalen Jennings will likely further compress his opportunities.

Insight page

Justin Herbert

NegativeProjection21:48

Justin Herbert is considered a good start this week against the Bills' vulnerable pass defense, but if he fails to perform, he may become droppable.

Insight page

Juwan Johnson

PositiveValue64:37

The source notes they were early on the Juwan Johnson hype train, implying continued confidence in his role within the Saints' offense.

Insight page

Kendre Miller

PositiveSleeper69:37

The source recommends picking up Kendry Miller as a stash, noting that he is the clear next man up if Alvin Kamara were to miss time.

Insight page

Kenneth Gainwell

PositiveUsage93:44

The source believes Kenny Gainwell is massively underutilized in his pass-catching role and compares his potential usage to DeAndre Swift's recent performance against Minnesota.

Insight page

Kenyon Sadiq

PositiveSleeper31:18

With Mason Taylor likely out, Kenyon Sadiq becomes a potential back-end TE1. He possesses elite speed and athleticism and is expected to see an increased target share.

Insight page

Keon Coleman

NegativeProjection29:04

Keon Coleman is a decent flex candidate if DJ Moore is unable to play.

Insight page

Khalil Shakir

NegativeProjection29:04

Khalil Shakir is a decent flex candidate if DJ Moore is unable to play.

Insight page

Kyler Murray

PositiveProjection95:01

The source considers Kyler Murray a perfectly fine start, preferring him over Geno Smith due to his rushing floor.

Insight page

Ladd McConkey

PositiveUsage22:25

Ladd McConkey is a recommended start this week, as the Bills' defense is particularly vulnerable to slot receivers, allowing significant yardage in that area.

Insight page

Malik Nabers

PositiveProjection38:56

Despite a shoulder injury, Malik Nabers is a must-start player. While there are concerns about the Giants' quarterback situation, he is expected to play and remains a focal point of the offense.

Insight page

Marcus Mariota

NegativeMatchup62:34

The source views this as a terrible matchup for Marcus Mariota, noting that Seattle's defense has allowed the fewest passing yards in the league, making him a risky start.

Insight page

Mark Andrews

NegativeUsage71:25

The source suggests that the return of Zay Flowers and the emergence of Rashad Bateman might stunt Mark Andrews' fantasy production.

Insight page

Marvin Harrison Jr.

NegativeBust73:53

The source is highly critical of Marvin Harrison Jr.'s recent tape, describing it as looking like he is quitting and noting a specific instance where he failed to complete a designed hot route. The source says he looks lost.

Insight page

Michael Wilson

NegativeUsage73:50

Michael Wilson has a slight edge over other Cardinals receivers in terms of usage, but the source notes this does not inspire great confidence for fantasy purposes.

Insight page

Mike Evans

NegativeInjury72:30

Mike Evans missed practice on Thursday and Wednesday, potentially due to West Coast travel. The source states that if Evans is active, he is a must-start, though they express concern regarding his potential for a limited role.

Insight page

Oronde Gadsden

PositiveBreakout22:25

Oronde Gadsden is the last man standing at tight end for the Chargers and is expected to run significant routes, making him an interesting upside play over Pat Freiermuth.

Insight page

Pat Freiermuth

PositiveUsage15:45

Pat Freiermuth is a viable tight end option due to his efficient usage, particularly his slot involvement, which provides a solid floor.

Insight page

Quinshon Judkins

NegativeUsage6:49

Quinshawn Judkins has an elite 80% backfield opportunity share and has started catching passes, which provides a decent floor despite the Browns' overall offensive struggles.

Insight page

Rashee Rice

NegativeBust62:03

The source is not interested in Rasheed Rice, noting he has not stood out in the offense and lacks a clear path to being a fantasy WR1, recommending managers trade him while they can.

Insight page

Rashod Bateman

NegativeRole71:15

Rashad Bateman performed well in Zay Flowers' absence, but the source notes he becomes a non-entity when Flowers is active, though he remains a flex-worthy option.

Insight page

Rhamondre Stevenson

PositiveUsage25:39

Despite a fumble-related benching last week, Ramondre Stevenson is expected to reclaim a larger share of the snaps this week. History shows that while Mike Vrabel penalizes fumbles in-game, the workload reduction does not typically carry over to the following week.

Insight page

Romeo Doubs

PositiveBreakout27:08

Romeo Doubs is emerging as a reliable WR3 option. His chemistry with Drake Maye is improving, evidenced by his ability to adjust on broken plays, and he is seeing valuable deep targets.

Insight page

Tee Higgins

NegativeProjection14:11

Tee Higgins should remain in lineups, as he has historically performed well against the Steelers, including a 160-yard, two-touchdown performance in their meetings last year.

Insight page

Terry McLaurin

NegativeProjection62:54

The source considers Terry McLaurin a fine flex play but is not forcing him into lineups due to the difficult matchup for the Commanders' passing game.

Insight page
NegativeProjection101:59

The source is hesitant about the Washington offense but acknowledges Terry McLaurin as a starter, despite noting his recent drops.

Insight page

Travis Etienne

NegativeValue69:34

The source advises fantasy managers to stay away from Travis Etienne, suggesting he is not a reliable fantasy back and recommending trading him if possible.

Insight page

Tre Harris

PositiveDepth Chart23:22

Trey Harris is slowly taking the job away from Quentin Johnston and is a viable flex consideration.

Insight page

Trevor Lawrence

PositiveProjection25:05

Despite a poor second half against Denver, Trevor Lawrence is expected to have a bounce-back performance against the Patriots, making him a viable start in fantasy lineups.

Insight page

Trey McBride

PositiveProjection73:47

Trey McBride is the only Arizona Cardinals player the source feels confident starting, labeling him an absolute must-start.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

PositiveRole71:11

The source confirms Zay Flowers is the alpha receiver for the Ravens and a must-start, noting Lamar Jackson's strong preference for him.

0:00This is an iHeartPodcast. Guaranteed human. Time now for Fantasy Football Weekly from iHeartRadio.
0:04Your weekly source for the nation's best fantasy speculation and advice.
0:08What's up everybody? Welcome back to Fantasy Football Weekly.
0:11Week 3 with John and Jake. Jake, I swear, I feel like we hang up.
0:16And I blink and we're back. Right? Action Jackson, man.
0:19Loving the league so far. How's your fantasy season going, I guess?
0:23Fantasy season's going great. Loving it. The less we talk about my real-life rooting interests in the NFL, the better.
0:29I'm just going to pretend that Thursday Night Football did not happen this week.
0:33And I'm going to focus all of my attention into the fantasy lineups that I have that are successful.
0:40How are yours going? I'm good. I kind of hate Thursday Night Football in general.
0:44But I'm a little disappointed in that Packers run game.
0:47I think they need to... A little? Yeah, they need to identify that that's a major issue and just put them in
0:55the shotgun and just throw 100% of the time.
0:57That's where they... They still have the matchups when they do that, but it hasn't been the case.
1:03We will get to them. I guess maybe a quick mention at the end.
1:08But for now, let's dive on in to this week.
1:11We have so much work to do. Yesterday, really great show.
1:14When I listened back, I actually have my notepad out.
1:17Learned a few things. All right, let's do it, right?
1:21Let's just rip the cord. It's not going to rip itself.
1:24Now, we've got Panthers at the Browns. Browns coming off what I just call a miraculous win.
1:30Ripping up oh so many survivor tickets. Panthers really maybe doing their own kind of miraculous thing.
1:35Though the competition level may be a little bit low for Carolina.
1:39I'm not even sure if we're considering Cleveland the first true test.
1:43Carolina a two and a half point favorite on the road in Forest City.
1:47I mean, I'm still not buying the Browns, Mr.
1:50Jake. As far as the Panthers goes, it feels pretty clean.
1:53Chuba's gotten at least an elite utilization. I think you have to roll with Young, right?
1:59While the, you know, strike while the iron is hot.
2:02I think Cochran, McMillan are legit pieces. And after that, I'm not really interested in much.
2:07Are you buying into like the Denzel Boston thing?
2:10He's getting a lot of love in Cleveland. One of those deep touchdowns was garbage time.
2:15The other one still came from Deshaun Watson. I'm not really sure how much I'm into the Browns.
2:21People are trying to force it down our throats a little bit.
2:24What say you? Yeah, and I think with the Deshaun Watson of it all, it's that how long is he going to remain the starter?
2:32And can Denzel Boston continue to look like a reasonable fantasy start whenever that transition away happens?
2:38I will say Boston is one of three players with double digit targets and getting at least 14 yards per target on the season.
2:45That is a combo that we like in fantasy.
2:48But to your point, I don't know that we can rely on that week in and week out.
2:54It kind of feels like Casey Concepcion is still the most creatively used of the bunch, which I think whenever the QB transition happens, bodes well for him.
3:03He's not somebody that I'm forcing into my lineups either.
3:06I think in general with the Browns. And John, I know that we had kind of differing opinions on Harold Fannin Jr.
3:13overall. But I feel like maybe, maybe if Deshaun Watson fades away, Harold Fannin Jr.
3:18might become a better option. He's an okay one now.
3:21But I think there's some untapped ceiling yet to be had.
3:25Yeah, Fannin's kind of nose and nose with Concepcion in the spreadsheets, which is kind of what worried me in the first place.
3:32Worried about how big the total pie might be.
3:35But again, Fannin, that's seven for 75. We would like that in one game, not two.
3:40But if your tight end can go out and get you five for 54, like Fannin did last week, he's going to
3:47fall somewhere in the tight end conversation. Again, scoring is going to be an issue.
3:52I'm just not sold on this entire operation. Jake Brown's running just 52 plays a game.
3:57They are still incredibly inefficient. And I feel like that Browns win was more of a, you know, condemnation of the Bucs ineptitude.
4:04Talk to me last thing before we go, because we do have just a second.
4:09The Quinshawn Judkin stuff is really like a fantasy conundrum because generally we're just chasing utilization.
4:14And when you get enough of it, you kind of go after it.
4:18It's amazing that Judkins is now running 80% backfield opportunity share.
4:22That is, that's elite, right? That's almost as high as she goes right now.
4:26And he scored what all of like 16 fantasy points this year.
4:30Do you just stay, I guess you have to stay the course with Judkins.
4:34If you watch it, it's really ugly out there.
4:37Yeah. I mean, I got to say like the headlines right now for this game in terms of backfields, it's Jonathan Brooks, right?
4:45Going to IR. And so here's the opportunity to all of the opportunity for Chuba Hubbard.
4:50And I agree with that. Chuba Hubbard, a very solid starter this week, but the utilization for Quinshawn Judkins, the thing that
4:57jumped off the page to me, John is like, this guy's finally catching passes, which is the thing.
5:03If we were ever going to be able to trust him on this truly mortifying at times Brown's offense, he had to be catching those passes.
5:11So Dylan Sampson apparently really did clear the runway for that.
5:14So based on that particular volume, I'm okay with Quinshawn Judkins, like, especially in this matchup, I'm okay.
5:20I'm not expecting the moon, but I think he actually does offer a kind of okay floor.
5:25Yeah. Judkins, he will famously get you 100% of nothing.
5:29But you know, sometimes when I tell my kids, you get what you get and you don't get upset sometimes.
5:35It's just, is what it is. I still think we want to be avoiding the, I think we'd want to be avoiding
5:42the Browns, but this could be a pretty good test for the Panthers.
5:46If they go out and lay an egg to the Browns, we're going to be answering ourselves some pretty funny questions.
5:53And last thing to Watson, I guess, if he keeps winning, he's going to stay on the center, which I don't care
6:00when or not, it looked really ugly. All right, next up, it's my dark horse Super Bowl pick.
6:06They're only dark horse for a little while longer.
6:09Cincinnati Bengals on the road, three and a half point favorites in the Steel City, Mr.
6:14Jake, to face those Steelers. That totals at 42 and a half really low, which I think makes sense because my push
6:21for the Bengals has been just how good the defense is.
6:24That extending Dexter Lawrence, bringing in Boye Mafé. These are all monster moves.
6:28I think since he's looked extremely good, they look really good up front against the run.
6:33They're getting, you know, tons of pressures. And I think they're either first or second, might be second in total sacks.
6:40They're actually tied for first is what it is.
6:43So Bengals playing defense? Uh-oh. The one thing that I did write about in the Fantasy Life game by game column, check it out.
6:51If you're into Novellas, you know, my 15,000 word epic every week, is this might actually bode poorly for fantasy managers that
6:58bought into the Bengals thinking high-flying prolific offense. And I think when you play really good defense, it just takes a lot of pressure off of that offense.
7:07And I feel like we've almost seen that. Cincinnati's been a little more deliberate, though they are scoring points.
7:13And if you're winning games, that's all anybody wearing stripes is going to care about.
7:17I think the Bengals kind of kill Pittsburgh. I do not like this offense.
7:22Their answer to, you know, the age-old Aaron Rodgers was, let's throw the ball more.
7:27He doesn't want to take hits. So if you're not going to allow routes to develop, it's not going to bode well.
7:34He's not even particularly accurate, though. It looks like Rico Dowdle might be out, Jake.
7:38So Jalen Warren has to have a giant arrow up next to his name.
7:43He could catch 12 passes in this one. But other than this, I'm really big on my Bengals trunk, right?
7:49The narrow consolidation of Bengals offense. Pittsburgh, smoke them if you got them.
7:53I'd rather not. But I got Bengals by a million.
7:57Am I overshooting this Bengal, love? By a million?
7:59I do think it's interesting. I didn't know what the over-under was for this game.
8:04It's heartening to see that Vegas agrees with my perception of what this game was going to be, which is just a
8:11tough day at the office for Joe Burrow and company.
8:14And I do think a defensive showdown. I mean, I did look in the Bengals and Steelers defenses have allowed a combined one passing touchdown through two weeks.
8:23I know the Steelers played against Cooper Rush in week one, but still that is devastating.
8:28I was going to say I would seriously consider starting Bryce Young over Joe Burrow.
8:33I don't know if that's a hot take this week.
8:36I just think the matchup is so much better for Bryce Young than Burrow.
8:41You can't sit Jamar Chase, obviously. I hope anyone who even considered that last week learned a lesson, a very important lesson.
8:48And I don't know that you can sit T.
8:51Higgins either just on the off chance that he replicates some of these sort of golden performances he's had against the Steelers.
8:58Like last year, he popped off for 160 yards and two touchdowns in their two meetings last year.
9:04I know they're different teams. I know it's a different situation, but I just can't sit either of them.
9:10Um, I just, I don't know who you reliably start from Pittsburgh though.
9:14You mentioned Jalen Warren and yeah, I guess you got to hope that he catches just dozens of dump offs from Rogers
9:21to be useful, but can we highlight just poor DK Metcalf for a second?
9:25The guy who's made his career on deep balls is averaging a measly three and a half yards per target.
9:32That is 161st in the league amongst all pass catchers.
9:35That's a lower mark than his teammate Rico freaking Dowdle, who is a running back.
9:40So I have zero confidence in Aaron Rogers to get any wide receivers for a good fantasy day.
9:45Maybe Pat Fryermuth. Are you maybe thinking of Pat Fryermuth as a tight end if you're desperate?
9:51Yeah. Well, for me, yeah. Fryermuth is probably one of the guys that you want, but it's more again, a condemnation of
9:58the tight end field, but he's been a big part of this.
10:02He's already up to, you know, 60 routes, double digit targets.
10:05You know, they're very efficient. And he caught nine of those for 78 and one that, you know, that dog will hunt.
10:12But the thing that we really like about Fryermuth has been the slot usage.
10:17He's earning almost four slot targets per game, right?
10:19So if you're going to rack up three catches from the slot as a tight end, you figure that's always going to
10:26be good for let's go on 15 or 20 yards.
10:30So if a tight end starts with a four or five point floor, gosh, that almost makes you like a back end
10:37tight end too, right off the bat, fall in the end zone.
10:40And all of a sudden, you know, you're kind of that guy for the week.
10:45So yeah, I think you move along with Fryermuth, but I do not like the design.
10:50I do not like this machine at all. They decided to make the entire thing out of Aaron Rodgers.
10:56And I don't know, man, just not how you want to be doing it in the year of our Lord 2026.
11:03But what can you do? Remember dark horse, Cincinnati Bengals, while they're still, while they're still cheap for the Superbowl.
11:09I really think this is how you get it, you know, across the finish line.
11:14Next up, this one is really, really exciting. Or at least we thought it would be coming, you know, into week one chargers.
11:22Like, where's that whistling? It's getting really bad. People are starting to cry and seethe.
11:26I did watch that game against the Raiders. I don't think it was as bad as the narratives would have you assume.
11:33Though the Mike McDaniel offense to me, Jake, is coming off a little, like, too much.
11:38There's just too much, like, dressing. How about a little more meat in the sandwich and a little less, like, you know, artisan sprouts or whatever.
11:47Less of mustard. Yeah, yeah. Like, just some more stuff to sink our teeth into.
11:52There was a really critical play. I think it was fourth and one.
11:56They went into the shotgun and the snap hit QJ while he was in motion.
12:00And it just was giving off, like, bad news bears vibes.
12:04Not what you want to be doing, especially when you're facing the wagon, right?
12:08Nobody circles the wagon. Like, the Buffalo Bills, they are just crazy good right now.
12:13Almost 430 yards a game. They're the only team in the league averaging more than seven yards a play.
12:19They haven't turned the ball over. Their average drive is going for over 40 yards.
12:24Buffalo is on fire right now doing all the stuffs and the things.
12:28Allen playing hero ball. Cook looking good. Kincaid running free.
12:31Man, it is a party in Buffalo, but that's great for fantasy.
12:35Do you think it's matched on the other side finally?
12:38Do you think we finally get the offense from the Chargers, right?
12:42That's kind of the question. Will they even push Buffalo?
12:45Yeah, I mean, I think it kind of has to be because I don't know how else you expect this to be any semblance of a game.
12:54If the Chargers are not up to the task of trying to fire away and keep up with Josh Allen, then this
13:01is just a thing that's going to be over before it starts.
13:05And I'm not ready to do that to the Chargers yet.
13:08But this is the matchup, though. Like, if you've had Justin Herbert and you've started Justin Herbert, one, my apologies.
13:15Two, though, if he can't deliver against this Bills defense, which is good up front, but can be definitely a liability on the back end.
13:23If he can't live up to it this week, then Herbert should probably just be dropped.
13:28Like, I don't know what game coming up on the schedule is a confident one for you if Justin Herbert can't get you a solid fantasy day today.
13:37And I know that that stings, but I just don't see that matchup elsewhere.
13:41So I do think that Justin Herbert is a good start this week.
13:45I'm on board starting Ladd McConkie and Oronde Gadsden, who is the last man standing at tight end for the Chargers.
13:52So McDaniel is going to be forced to use this guy who looked very good in spots last year.
13:58I think I might even consider Trey Harris in my flex, John, because I think he's slowly taking the job away from Quentin Johnston.
14:06And that should be. Like, I thought that should have happened even late last year.
14:11So I'm okay firing up most of my Chargers in this one.
14:14Oh, I can tell you, I just tested the function of my microphone mute because I let out an audible groan that
14:21might have come through just, oh, when you said drop, Justin Herbert.
14:25You know, he wasn't really my guy, but he was definitely part of my draft plan where he was going when you
14:32were getting him outside of pick 90, especially if you like McConkie.
14:36There's a lot of weapons getting added from that offense, right?
14:40A second round running back, a lot of things you'd like.
14:43Mike McDaniel, the whole, you know, the whole spiel there.
14:46And to think that you're right, you know, you are, you are correct, sir.
14:51And what I was waiting for you to get at was this matchup in particular, right?
14:56So not only is Buffalo going to push you with their own offense, the defense has not really been that good.
15:02Again, you nailed it. Up front, they're good, but you could absolutely beat this team.
15:07They're allowing over 365 yards a game, 31 points a game, bottom six in EPA per play, and allowing scoring on half
15:14of the drives that they've played against. In particular, the pass defense has been very weak.
15:19They've allowed nine deep shot completions, six passing touchdowns, and especially vulnerable over the middle.
15:24So you mentioned McConkie, that's a huge one. Buffalo is like bottom five EPA against the slot.
15:30That's eight catches for over 130 yards per game to the slot.
15:33That's where you want to get Buffalo, try and work underneath all those zones and stuff.
15:39Man, if LA doesn't get it done today, like you're 100% right, that doesn't happen.
15:43Also make a great point about the Gaston thing.
15:46Man, would you take Gaston or Friar Roof? Let's play, we could play like a tournament elimination game, because I think if
15:53we're looking for like that outlier tight end, Gaston is really interesting.
15:57You mentioned the talent. We've seen the pop. He hasn't really done it yet.
16:01And to be honest, he was the cheese that stands alone, because Njoku was catching balls and looking good.
16:08He got hurt. It was Charlie Kolar out there catching balls and looking good.
16:12And then it just felt like, all right, you, last guy at the end over there, get in.
16:18But he's going to be running routes. I don't even know who else to project for tight end routes for the Chargers.
16:25Arande Gadsden upside Buffalo. Pat Fryer with blue collar lunch pail.
16:28What say you? I mean, first of all, watch the Chargers go and like sign Gronkowski out of retirement before Sunday or something.
16:36And just blow this up in my face. Is he younger than Case Keenum?
16:40I mean, probably. But a round in Gaston, I'm going to take based on the perceived upside of the scoring in general.
16:47Like this game should just have so many more points than what we're expecting out of Pittsburgh and Bagels.
16:53So I will take Gadsden over Friday. Yeah, I think that's a pretty good call.
16:58As far as the Buffalo pass catching room, I've been trying to like refresh the practice data.
17:03You know, we're recording on Friday. This stuff is kind of rolling in in real time.
17:08It looks like DJ Moore did log a limited practice.
17:12So I think, right, he's the pass catcher outside of Kincaid.
17:15We've had whispers about Coleman. I think, you know, the rumors of that assumption might be greatly exaggerated depending on the Moore thing, right?
17:23So it's pretty much, it's pretty solid like the targetry, right?
17:26We're looking at Kincaid for sure. We're looking at Moore.
17:29I think you have to start him, right? Even off a limited practice.
17:34You think so, right? Yeah. If he's good to go, then DJ Moore is in my lineup.
17:39If he doesn't, because I do think they said he's a game time decision technically.
17:44So if he doesn't, I do think both Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman are pretty good flex candidates in that situation.
17:50You don't have to get them into your lineups like you would DJ Moore, but decent options.
17:56Yeah, I think that's a great call out. I know this is not a betting show, but the times that I do
18:03advise people to look at the lines is a game like this where the total is over 50.
18:09These are the games that you want to be attached to.
18:12All right. Awesome first segment, Mr. Jake. We're going to be back in just a minute.
18:17We've got another handful, a ton of exciting games.
18:20This weekend, Patriots, Jaguars, Jets, and Lions, Texans, Colts, all coming up next on Fantasy Football Weekly, Week 3 edition.
18:27Fantasy football players love to tell ourselves we're being rational.
18:30We're looking at the data. We're studying the matchup.
18:33We've got a process. And then Sunday starts. I'm not checking my lineup every five minutes.
18:38Of course you are. Suddenly you're watching a backup tight end you barely thought about all week because you need 12 more yards.
18:45Now you know exactly how many targets he has.
18:48You know how many routes he's run. You know where the next red zone possession needs to go.
18:54And when he finally catches the ball, that might be the most important eight-yard gain of your entire afternoon.
19:00That's fantasy football. Every target, every carry, every yard.
19:03That's also what I like about Underdog. Download Underdog to play Keep Your Million.

20:18This episode sponsored by Eureka Ergonomic. Here's something nobody talks about when designing a home office.
20:23Why is it so easy to find a beautiful sofa, but so hard to find a desk chair that doesn't look like it came from a corporate office?
20:32Most office chairs look like they belong in a sad cubicle, not in a thoughtfully designed home.
20:37They're bulky, overly technical, and can completely throw off the look of the room.
20:42That's why I like Eureka Ergonomic. Their leather office chairs reimagine what executive seating can look like, with a modern furniture-inspired design,
20:49clean silhouettes, premium leather finishes, and a refined aesthetic that actually elevates the room.
20:53So instead of feeling like a random office chair you dragged into your home, it feels like a piece that belongs with the rest of your furniture.
21:02Eureka Ergonomic. Finally, an office chair that works hard and looks like it belongs.
21:06Visit EurekaErgonomic.com now to find a chair that finally fits your space and your workday.
21:11That's Eureka, E-U-R-E-K-A, Ergonomic, E-R-G-O-N-O-M-I-C.com. This is Jay Valentine.
21:14I've spent my career on the executive side of this industry, multi-platinum songs, building artists, and building business.
21:20And alongside my brother Tank, the superstar R&B singer, songwriter, and producer, we've created something special, the R&B Money Podcast.
21:26This is not just a podcast. It's a safe space where artists, executives, and fans of R&B music come to reminisce, pull
21:33back the curtain, and tell the stories that shaped this culture, the real history behind the hits.
21:38That was hood famous. Yeah. And then Real Love came out, and it blew up.
21:43We lived in a project. Yeah, and they're seeing all the success.
21:47They're hearing the music, and we had nothing. We're covering the entire spectrum from Smokey Robinson, Alicia Keys, B2K, Mary J.
21:54Blige, legends, current stars, and everyone who's contributed to the sound of R&B.
21:58You come out the gate with a hit. And then knock Michael Jackson out of number one.
22:03Come on, man. I was like, hold on. I'm not going to MJ out of the number one spot.
22:09If you're a super dedicated R&B fan who wants the real discovery, the real stories, this is your podcast.
22:15This is the R&B Money Podcast. Listen to R&B Money from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
22:24All right, Jake, we're back. Fantasy Football Weekly, week three edition.
22:28I was talking with Air about the lovely work I'm doing over at Fantasy Life.
22:33Check out the utilization report and the game model.
22:35I really like Friedman's game model. It's, you know, it's boring in all the right ways.
22:41And I talk about that when I do my own projections.
22:44You're, listen, you know, NFL markets are extremely sharp.
22:47And it's not to say you can't disagree with them.
22:50But you should not regularly be wildly disagreeing with them, right?
22:54That's kind of a thing. Because if you are and you're correct, you should be a multimillionaire.
22:59Because that's how liquid these markets are. So, Friedman's work there is really, really good.
23:04It just kind of keeps you grounded to reality and makes you ask, like, hmm, you know, like, why?
23:10So, I'm really into that and Dwayne's utilization stuff is great.
23:13All right, next one. This is, like, there are so many really great games that almost feel like they could earn the title for appointment viewing.
23:22One-in-one pats at one-in-one jags heading into the season.
23:25This had, you know, AFC championship feels, right? I don't think that's out of line at all.
23:30Patriots feel like the big disappointment right now. They're three-point dogs heading into Jacksonville who looked really good for the first three halves of the season.
23:38That back end against Denver, the bolts on the wheels started shaking a little bit.
23:43The machine sputtered a touch and they ended up losing a game they probably shouldn't have.
23:48Because on the watch back, I don't think Denver looks very good.
23:52I've had an impossible time trying to handicap this one, Jake.
23:55And I often tell people when the home team is favored by three and you have an over-under at 45, the book
24:03is probably stuck on the fence just the way I am.
24:06To me, I've been copping out and saying you're starting your stars, right?
24:10You're not ready to sit May yet. Though he also, he's in the Herbert boat of guys that we thought could be MVPs that look like DNPs, right?
24:19Do not play. You got to start Trevion, he looked explosive.
24:23Mondre, probably enough work. Just two branches on that tree.
24:26No A.J. Brown stunts the entire Patriots. Passing game.
24:29Jaguars, I've been a pee-wash guy from day one.
24:32Other than that, it's tootin' for me and that's it.
24:35So it's weird to have so much interest in a game, Jake, that I don't love a lot of the pieces.
24:41So tell us, do you have a team that you think is going to walk out the winner?
24:47And where we want to be going for fantasy, right?
24:50This sounded like a game we'd really be into.
24:53And I sound less into it than I was, I don't know, four weeks ago even.
24:58I mean, I do think this is like a semi-bounce-back situation for Jacksonville and for most of their fantasy pieces.
25:05Like, obviously, yes, as you said, Trevor Lawrence came back down to earth against Denver, especially in that second half last week.
25:12And the Patriots defense is not going to be a cakewalk for Trevor Lawrence, certainly.
25:16But I do expect a much better outcome if you have him in your fantasy lineup.
25:22Yes, we know that Parker Washington, undisputed wide receiver, won in that offense.
25:26And everyone else is trying and ultimately unstartable until they can sort of sort out that consistent pecking order.
25:32You nailed it with Basial Tootin. I agree. What I did want to just talk about, though, a bit, John, is the Patriots' backfield.
25:39Because I think last week, after Ramondre Stevenson fumbled on that first drive, a lot of questions came into the fold that
25:46would not have otherwise if he had held onto that ball.
25:50The first drive was all Ramondre Stevenson. Then he fumbles.
25:53Then he only touches the ball once the rest of that first half, five times the rest of the game.
25:59This decision tree about who to start between Ramondre Stevenson and Travion Henderson, it really does have people confused, and I get it.
26:07But I just wanted to shine some light on how this situation typically works.
26:11So Mike Rabel is a guy who will penalize a player in the game.
26:16So he fumbles in that game. He's going to penalize you.
26:19He's going to have you sit on the bench.
26:22It normally does not carry over into that next game.
26:25There were two games last year Ramondre fumbled. In both instances, his workload was trimmed for the rest of that game.
26:32But he outtouched Travion Henderson the following week, both times.
26:35So I do expect Ramondre to get more of the snaps this week.
26:39But the good news is that Travion Henderson doesn't need to touch the ball 20 times to be a factor in fantasy.
26:46So I think that you can start both of these guys comfortably.
26:50What I'm curious about, John, is what do you do at all with the Patriots wide receivers?
26:56You talked about Drake May not really looking like Drake May.
26:59And that much harder schedule compared to last year's definitely seemed to be coming into the fray.
27:05But Romeo Dobbs answered the bat phone last week to some extent.
27:08He only got four targets, but he did as much as you could want him to do with them.
27:14Are you comfortable rolling out Romeo Dobbs? Because I'm kind of split on him this week.
27:20Yeah, so I am definitely encouraged on Dobbs. And it's only partially confirming Priors.
27:24Because I never thought he was like some world beater.
27:27And I like him better with A.J. Brown, right?
27:30To be clear, this is not a scenario where I said, Ooh, A.J.
27:34Brown is gone. It's Romeo Dobbs to the moon.
27:37I was like, Oh no, A.J. Brown is gone.
27:40The whole machine is going to break down here.
27:43So a couple things with Dobbs. One, you know, he's getting deep targets.
27:47And we like that. But there was one of those deep shots in particular that was not so much a deep shot
27:54as it was really encouraging because it was a little bit of like symbiosis kind of going on.
28:00It was a little bit of a broken play.
28:03May we know can be hard to take down.
28:05He could buy himself some time. Dobbs comes back to May along the right sideline.
28:10And you can see there was some like communication there going on.
28:14And to me that was just really encouraging because it felt like a battery is forming.
28:19And that's what we need. We talk about continuity.
28:22We talk about chemistry. We talk about repetitions. So I think, again, I want to be very clear.
28:28It's not like wheels up, Romeo, Dobbs, S-Z-N. But I do think like reliable WR3 season loading.
28:33Like it's as awfully unexciting as that may be.
28:36Though, again, even to the design of the offense, I just didn't dig it.
28:40I thought, I'm not like a big Pop Douglas guy.
28:44But again, if Dobbs is going to play intermediate role, the Douglas should have been working more underneath and they kind of ignored him when they shouldn't have.
28:53I'm just not crazy about the design here. And to the running backs, I think you're right.
28:58When only two guys touch the ball, that's fine.
29:01They really do very much fit this like archetypal thunder and lightning thing.
29:05Do not watch the tape on the Henderson carries.
29:08It's not pretty at all. He misses tons of holes.
29:11When he finds one, he goes all the way.
29:14I thought the very first carry should have been a huge gain.
29:18It wasn't. He's known to just slam into the offensive lineman unneedingly.
29:22Where Ramondre kind of lets the play develop, but then doesn't necessarily have the horsepower to get you home.
29:28Mix them. Put them together. You'd have one hell of a running back.
29:32Why haven't they done that? Yeah. Right. Let's start combining players.
29:35All right. That's enough for that one. It's going to be really tough.
29:39It's going to be hard fought. A lot of times when I get into those, my handicapping brain tells me to just
29:46play to the under and temper expectations. Because again, both of these defenses should not be overlooked.
29:52I think they're both good. Next up, my JETS.
29:55Jets, Jets, Jets. One and one. Probably could have won.
29:58One and one and probably could have won against the Pack.
30:01Packers kind of outlasted them. I don't think the Jets are nearly as good as some of my wonderful, you know, team
30:08level spreadsheets, what have you think, right? The Jets.
30:11You'd think if you didn't know any better that at under 200 yards allowed per game and four yards per play and
30:18a 60% success rate below 20 yards per average drive and, you know, the league lead in three and outs that the Jets defense is really good.
30:27They're not really good. They're not really good. They've had, and I'm not to insult you, but they've had like softer competition
30:34as far as run games go, right? If you're, if you can't establish the run against the Jets, I think you're really going to struggle.
30:42Jameer Gibbs and the Lions probably not going to have that issue.
30:46Right now, the Lions are our circus team of the year, right?
30:50You could score 35 and they're bound to give up 35.
30:53So you're rolling with all your lines. Of course, I think, you know, my Adonai Mitchell preseason call is looking pretty strong, right?
31:00A guy that was available all the way at the back end of drafts is getting seven and a half targets a
31:07game, 25% target per route over two yards per route looking really good.
31:12One last thing I had before I kick it to you was I don't think Mason Taylor is going to play.
31:18I think he might actually be listed out. That would have to be a boost for Kenyon Sadiq, whose efficiency metrics have looked pretty good so far.
31:27Like he's insanely fast and he looks really athletic with a full complement of routes.
31:32He could, you know, be a back end tight end one again.
31:35Add him into the mix. Fryer Muth, Gadsden, or Kenyon Sadiq, Jameer.
31:39I would still be going with Gadsden out of these three.
31:43However, I do have to point out Adonai Mitchell also has a finger injury.
31:47Apparently he's working through. Yeah, I saw that. I saw that.
31:51I saw that. Technically, but it seems like they're expecting him to actually be out there.
31:56So hopefully the finger issue is not a real issue.
31:59Obviously, when you catch balls for a living, that could be an issue though.
32:04But I just have to applaud you because I am a convert into the A.D.
32:08Mitchell world now. I was not a big fan coming in this offseason.
32:12I didn't think the Jets would have a true number two behind Garrett Wilson.
32:17And Garrett Wilson not looking like a top eight fantasy receiver right now like I thought he could be and maybe still can be.
32:25But Kenyon Sadiq, if Mitchell is hampered, then I definitely get it.
32:28I still think that some of his stuff from the first two weeks was a little fluky in terms of how he ended up getting his production.
32:37But at a certain point beyond Garrett Wilson and Brees Hall, they need somebody else.
32:42And if Mason Taylor is not going to be there, there's an easy vacation to be had.
32:47I mean that in terms of targets as well as just like Kenyon Sadiq sending people on vacation if they win some
32:54money because they believed in Kenyon Sadiq. So I'm OK with it.
32:58I will say the one Lions guy that I'm not very thrilled to start is still Jameson Williams.
33:04I get that any week could be his week.
33:07But boy, I thought last week he had plenty of opportunity and he just has not cashed in at all.
33:13It's a bummer. Yeah, they haven't found that deep shot efficiency yet.
33:17This is Jameson Williams. He's, you know, it's not terrible.
33:20You know, he's playing all the snaps. He's got a 95% raw participation.
33:24We love that. You know, the conversion is really low, just 6 of 13.
33:29And if I'm not mistaken, I think I saw this earlier.
33:32I think they hung a goose egg on the deep stuff.
33:36No, he has won. But that's just two targets so far.
33:39We want more deep stuff, especially with a Lions team that's scoring, you know, a million points.
33:45The Mitchell thing is interesting. Again, he's over 100 air yards per game.
33:49And that kind of opportunity is just really hard to find.
33:52If Mitchell is on your wave of wire, I think he's a guy you probably want to snag.
33:58I've been talking about maybe Geno as a streamer.
34:01Jake, right? There's a lot of quarterback issues going on right now.
34:05There's a lot of like shuffling in and out.
34:08Can I put you on the spot? Geno Smith or Jameis Winston, right?
34:12James is going to get a look. We'll talk about them in a little bit.
34:16Or like Geno, a little bit more boring. I think a lot more boring.
34:21Definitely safer with the ball. And probably a good matchup too.
34:24But you could see the Jets are eventually going to fall flat in their face.
34:29I just don't know if it's going to be this one because that Detroit defense really does look that bad.
34:36Yeah, I don't expect them to fall in their face this week.
34:39We're going to talk about like five guys in the next segment who I would start Geno Smith over.
34:45But I will say, I think he's a very reasonable streaming option, especially with all the QB injuries that were just sustained.
34:53But yeah, I would start him over Jameis and Heartbeat.
34:56Yeah, I think you nailed it. I think you nailed it one.
35:00I wonder, maybe we could do this next one really quick.
35:03It's Houston and Indianapolis. And I just, because I just don't have much here.
35:07I mean, the Indy defense has been really bad, but I don't really love much for the Texans.
35:13This feels like another David Montgomery game, which means I'm not expecting a lot of scoring.
35:18The total's at 42. The Colts look very mad.
35:21The Texans defense can be really good. That redundancy we talked about with the Colts is kind of a killer.
35:28I think you're starting downs no matter what, because he's playing all the two wide receiver sets.
35:33But I obviously Jonathan Taylor also, but I don't like Jones.
35:37I just not crazy about a lot of stuff.
35:39I don't want Keenan Allen. I don't really like what Houston is doing on offense at all.
35:45So again, just to put a bow on this one quickly.
35:48Did I miss anything? Are you recommending anybody in this game?
35:52This game, I've been telling people that maybe stay away.
35:55Those Indy stats are bad, but I don't know if Houston is that prolific right now.
36:00Yeah. Daniel Jones, another guy that I would start Geno Smith over this week.
36:05Nico Collins is out. That's just official now. So unfortunate.
36:08But that does leave a lot of path and a lot of runway open for Dalton Schultz.
36:13I think that he is a must start with Nico out.
36:17Like give me Dalton Schultz over any tight end basically that we've talked about to this point.
36:22I do think Woody Marks has a chance. He was utilized more as a pass catcher last week.
36:28Finally, with Nico Collins out with Nico being out again, you know, he should get some pass catching work.
36:34Neither of the running backs looked good and that's the problem.
36:37They have an easier matchup, a much easier matchup.
36:40So if David Montgomery scores, great. If Woody Marks catches five passes, great.
36:44You're okay to start either, but I'm not excited about really much in this game.
36:49Tyler Warren, I want to be excited about Tyler Warren at tight end.
36:53And I'm just not. I understand that he's catching touchdowns and keeping you afloat for fantasy that way, but he's really not been exciting to watch.
37:02Yeah. And that's the overlap with all the route stuff that I've been talking about.
37:06They really need Alex Pierce, Alex Pierce functionally to stretch the defense because no one else is really able to do it.
37:13And what I'm worried about is that might be Downs' new role, which would be terrible because that would sink his value.
37:20So, right, it was nice to just get through that one because not every game needs every attention.
37:26All right, let's take a quick break. Jake, we're back in a bit.
37:30We got Titans and Giants coming up and then Cardinals and 49ers.
37:34A bit more of interest in that one. It's John.
37:37It's Jake. It's Fantasy Football Weekly, Week 3 edition.
37:40And we're back. Final drive of the second half with John and Jake, Fantasy Football Weekly, Week 3 edition.
37:46Couple more games to tackle right here. One, not so interesting.
37:50One, really interesting. Let's save the best for last.
37:53It's the Tennessee Titans who somehow almost upset the Eagles if they would have.
37:57I was quitting. Oh, man. There were survivor tickets about to go up in flames on that one.
38:03I mean, those Hurts picks were crazy. We'll get to that afterwards.
38:07I just think the Titans are still pretty terrible.
38:10They're on the road as two and a half point underdogs to face the New York American football Giants at home who
38:17are somehow two and a half point favorites after Jameis Winston just looked as bad as anybody could look in a backup role.
38:24And not to bury the lead, I'm not trying to dogpile him, Jake.
38:28I think we need to give backups, anybody, grace when not getting first team reps.
38:33I think that stuff matters. I also think it's a completely different game plan when you have Jameis Winston, more conventional run
38:40game, more deeper shots than a guy like Dart who's very unique, right?
38:44It's not a conventional play is what I mean.
38:47This totals at 38 and a half. No one is expecting much of anything.
38:51Malik Neighbors should be playing. Those quotes about his shoulder were certainly not encouraging.
38:56He said he like popped his shoulder back in.
38:59He did get a full practice in. So I guess you have to start him.
39:03And same for Skadabo who caught balls with Winston on the center.
39:07The rest of that backfield is a disaster. I don't really want anything to do with any of this.
39:13And not to say it looks overly prescient, but even guys like Carnell Tate, I was just begging my readers to stay
39:20away from, worried that there would be nothing here, right?
39:23Oh, that pie is not big enough. The pie is going to grow.
39:28There is no pie, Jake. It is a single cookie.
39:31It is a single donut hole, right? This is like a Christmas carol.
39:35They're trying to cut the bean into 40 pieces where it's razor thin.
39:39You could see right through it. I'm just totally off the Titans.
39:43What do you think about Jameis? I guess that's like the interesting thing.
39:47In another universe, fantasy gamers would be really excited about Jameis Winston throwing the ball to Malik Neighbors.
39:53And it might be the case, but it doesn't.
39:56That air is not happening right now. There are people selling Neighbors low in Dynasty instead of like really excited.
40:02This feels like an all-or-none situation. Which way do you think the needle swings?
40:07I mean, I've said it before. I want to start Geno Smith over Jameis Winston.
40:11I don't want to start Winston this week, even in what is a good matchup.
40:16It is a good matchup against the Titans. And I will say it's okay to take the easy matchups then for these guys like Malik Neighbors.
40:24You mentioned, I do think you have to start him.
40:28He avoided catastrophe with the shoulder injury. I can't fathom sitting Malik Neighbors this week.
40:32Isaiah Likely. I think you can absolutely start him, even though he did not look good last week with Jameis Winston.
40:39Cam Scadaboo. I think you can start these guys.
40:42But if they do perform as highly as I think they can, given the matchup, I do think you have to start
40:49building a game plan for sell high assets off of this team.
40:53If you have Cam Scadaboo and does well in this week.
40:56If Malik Neighbors looks good. Whatever. If any of these guys really look good, I would start trying to move them because
41:03I don't believe in Jameis as even a semi long-term viable fantasy QB.
41:07He never is. I think people have this idea of Yolo Jameis from forever ago.
41:12Yeah. And he's the best thing for fantasy football, but they forget that he is often just as terrible even after he gets all the practice reps.
41:21Like he started two games last year and yeah, in one game he threw for 366 and two touchdowns.
41:27That's awesome. The other one he barely throws for 200 and he gets no touchdowns and a pick.
41:33And people remember the 500 yard game from a year before that, but they don't remember the multiple games where he threw
41:4046 times and couldn't get over 240 yards. Like this happens all the time and he makes your skill position players totally unpredictable.
41:47And that's not a good thing for redraft. You need some level of predictability.
41:51So yeah, it's, it's not looking good. Last thing I noticed you avoided the powder blue elephant in the room.
41:58You didn't mention a single Titan. I mean, it's really bad.
42:01Again, Ward could be fine. We've seen guys be terrible.
42:04We've seen Donald get run out of New York and go on to win a Superbowl.
42:10Baker Mayfield with the trench coat means now, you know, he's all handsome and stuff.
42:14It happens all the time. But right now this is not working.
42:18The run game was actually very good against Philadelphia in that fourth quarter.
42:22That's how they were getting all those third downs.
42:25Then they get into the red zone for Cam Ward to like throw off his back foot while he's backpedaling.
42:32I mean, it is some of the worst tape you're going to see.
42:36What do we do with any Titan? Do you want any Titans?
42:40Are you starting tape? Are you starting anybody? Run away.
42:43Run away from your Titans. I mean, this, this team is the NFL version of Wiley Coyote.
42:48They are constantly running into walls that are painted to look like tunnels.
42:52They are seconds away from TNT exploding in their faces.
42:55Carnal Tate literally looks like Wiley Coyote. You know, when he runs off of the cliff, but he doesn't fall right away.
43:02He keeps running for a little bit. It's not until he looks down.
43:07That's actually what fantasy managers of Carnal Tate are doing right now.
43:10They're trying to keep running, but they're going to have to look down this week.
43:15And it's just going to be grody. We're advising to Carnal Tate managers, do not look down, avoid all cliffs.
43:22But this is always part of it. Individual talent is not going to supersede systemic rot or whatever we want to call this.
43:29A little more exciting now. Arizona Cardinals on the road, eight and a half point dogs against the 49ers who keep losing
43:36pieces, but seemingly get stronger all the time. Total up near 48.
43:40So we are expecting a bit more fireworks here.
43:43San Francisco, pretty much straightforward at this point. Again, they're really injured.
43:46So you kind of, you roll with the guys that are starting.
43:50I kept refreshing the Evans stuff. He did not practice yesterday.
43:54Today's Friday. He did not practice Thursday. Maybe because of the West Coast stuff.
43:58Maybe he should have to come out. I mean, obviously, if Evans is playing, I think I'm starting him.
44:04I always worry about limited roles. But I think the role with guys that they're starting, Jake, if you want, you can address that when you go.
44:13You know, obviously McCaffrey. I think Kittle looked really good.
44:16And I think now he's kind of forming into the player we thought he would be, even if that comes with some boom or bust activity.
44:24Arizona, for me, has been the really tough one.
44:27Outside of McBride, I don't feel great about anybody.
44:30I think you're flexing Michael Wilson, if you have him.
44:33The Marv stuff is terrible. That tape looks like he's quitting.
44:37It's really bad. It's really bad. I hate to judge guys on effort because I think they're all fantastic.
44:43And I really admire them. They're the best athletes in the world playing the game that I love so much.
44:49But, like, dude, they designed a hot route for him and he didn't complete the route.
44:54And the ball got, like, spiked and he just shrugged.
44:58It was, like, it was just the worst teaching tape you could possibly imagine.
45:02And then, like, the Bourne stuff is kind of hit or miss.
45:06So, as fun as Arizona can be, I wonder, this is a pretty good test.
45:11The San Fran defense, at least Fred Water is playing a man-possessed right now.
45:15They're only allowing 10 points a game, but the one in Australia, I don't know.
45:20Do you think the Cardinals come to life? Are you playing any of them?
45:24Do you have a take on the backfield with Algier?
45:28Kind of out-snapping love right now. A lot of mishmash here.
45:31So, for me, it's, like, standard Niners, McBride, and the rest I'm kind of shying away from, even with the high total.
45:38I think that makes sense. We should point out there's no Nick Bosa for the 49ers.
45:43So, maybe that opens a little bit of wiggle room for the Cardinals offense.
45:48But I wrote an article over at FantasyLife.com, actually, this week, about three things specifically that I was keeping my eye on in week three.
45:56And one of them is, can any single Cardinals wide receiver separate from the pack?
46:00Because it's very easy to see how Marv is disappointing.
46:04He just, he looks lost, like you said. He looks like a flamingo trying to tie his own shoelaces.
46:10But it's not just him. It's the Cardinals as a whole.
46:13Like, none of these guys have averaged double-digit fantasy points.
46:16Michael Wilson has a slight edge over everyone else, but not enough to inspire great confidence in me.
46:22And that backfield, as you mentioned, I get why the Cardinals have been cautious with Jeremiah Love.
46:27He's coming off that high ankle sprain that he got in the preseason.
46:32But it just, it cuts off both him and Algier at the knees until Love at least gets healthy.
46:38I don't feel great about starting him. You're right.
46:41Trey McBride, absolutely. Starts, for sure. Everybody else from the Arizona, I'm sitting unless I'm in really dire straits.
46:47But I did want to call out real quick on the 49ers backfield, John.
46:51Because CMC, if you're just looking at the fantasy points, it's been great.
46:55But that backfield is a bit of a mystery as well.
46:59Because CMC saw fewer touches in week two than he did in week one.
47:03And the excuse in week one was he was dealing with lower body tightness.
47:08All right. The bad news is CMC only got 23 rushing yards last week against Miami.
47:13The good news is he scored twice. And he also caught four passes for 43 yards.
47:18So I expect that to be kind of the CMC experience this year.
47:22He's not going to do what he did last year, especially with Kalen Black nipping at his heels in these games where San Francisco salts it away.
47:31And that's my point about emphasizing these two is I think in this game, we could see another salted away type of
47:38situation in the fourth quarter where you barely see CMC.
47:41You're going to see a lot of Kalen Black.
47:44So it doesn't mean obviously you sit CMC. You start him.
47:47And you can start Kalen Black too. But I just don't think that the upside is as high as people would like.
47:54Yeah, no. It's a great quad. And just that's what all that CMC old school volume used to do.
48:00And that was the difference between 23 to 25 fantasy points a game and like 18 to 19.
48:0618 to 19 is incredible. We are always going to start that every week, even if there's a fire.
48:12But there is a difference between that and 25.
48:15And that's what you got. So also Kalen Black, one of the top handcuffs in the league for sure.
48:21All right. So that's the halftime whistle. Let's get the marching band out here.
48:25Grab some peanuts and stuff. We'll be right back in a few minutes.
48:30Fantasy Football Weekly, week three with Jake and John.

49:55This episode sponsored by Eureka Ergonomic. Here's something nobody talks about when designing a home office.
50:00Why is it so easy to find a beautiful sofa, but so hard to find a desk chair that doesn't look like it came from a corporate office?
50:09Most office chairs look like they belong in a sad cubicle, not in a thoughtfully designed home.
50:14They're bulky, overly technical, and can completely throw off the look of the room.
50:19That's why I like Eureka Ergonomic. Their leather office chairs reimagine what executive seating can look like, with a modern furniture-inspired design,
50:26clean silhouettes, premium leather finishes, and a refined aesthetic that actually elevates the room.
50:30So instead of feeling like a random office chair you dragged into your home, it feels like a piece that belongs with the rest of your furniture.
50:39Eureka Ergonomic. Finally, an office chair that works hard and looks like it belongs.
50:43Visit EurekaErgonomic.com now to find a chair that finally fits your space and your workday.
50:48That's Eureka, E-U-R-E-K-A. Ergonomic, E-R-G-O-N-O-M-I-C.com. This is Jay Valentine.
50:51I've spent my career on the executive side of this industry, multi-platinum songs, building artists, and building business.
50:57And alongside my brother Tank, the superstar R&B singer, songwriter, and producer, we've created something special, the R&B Money Podcast.
51:03This is not just a podcast. It's a safe space where artists, executives, and fans of R&B music come to reminisce, pull
51:10back the curtain, and tell the stories that shaped this culture, the real history behind the hits.
51:16That was hood famous. Yeah. And then Real Love came out, and it blew up.
51:20We lived in a project. Yeah, and they're seeing all the success.
51:24They're hearing the music, and we had nothing. We're covering the entire spectrum from Smokey Robinson, Alicia Keys, B2K, Mary J.
51:31Blige, legends, current stars, and everyone who's contributed to the sound of R&B.
51:35You come out the gate with a hit. And then knock Michael Jackson out of number one.
51:41Come on, man. I was like, hold on. I'm not going to MJ out of the number one spot.
51:47If you're a super dedicated R&B fan who wants the real discovery, the real stories, this is your podcast.
51:53This is the R&B Money Podcast. Listen to R&B Money from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
52:02All right, back in our seats for the second half of Fantasy Football Weekly with John and Jake.
52:07Make sure you're checking out all the fun stuff at Fantasy Life.
52:11The utilization report, and I'm just a dark mode guy in general.
52:15Between that and the game model, I use it all the time.
52:19You know, it's like a lighthouse for me. I just kind of keep one eyeball on it to make sure my own work doesn't stray too far.
52:27All right, got a nice little three-pack coming up, Jake.
52:31Oh, man. I got to stop playing Survivor. This has got to be the third or fourth time.
52:36I got to stop playing Survivor. It's ruined your life, it sounds like.
52:40I'm still carrying that loss last year. Arizona, that was the Demarcato drop the ball game, that crazy turnaround in the fourth quarter.
52:48That's what you really remember. You really remember the losses.
52:51So I must be talking about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who just inexplicably lost on Sunday.
52:56That was horrendous. I don't know how they lost a game they were winning and able to run at five yards a clip.
53:03Just crazy stuff. Tampa Bay Buccaneers are underdogs at home, Jake.
53:07The host, Brian Flores' wild defense. And the Vikings, Kyle Murray, back under center.
53:11I mean, I get we want to be excited about that.
53:15That we've seen very little. And the running game situation for Minnesota is kind of in shambles now.
53:21Aaron Jones, I believe he did log a practice.
53:23I was kind of watching that pretty intently. All right.
53:27He actually got a full practice in today. So I guess that's okay.
53:31He kind of surprised me a little bit. I didn't think they would load him up with 20 some odd touches.
53:38I thought he'd be more in the pass game.
53:40That turned out to be incorrect. Correct. DeMond Claiborne, who I thought would get some work, did not.
53:46That was incorrect. It ended up being DJ Dallas is really the backup right now.
53:51And I know if people are looking for like just a handful of points to stream, it probably is Dallas over Claiborne.
53:58I'm not sure what you'd get out of anybody because the Tampa front seven is still pretty good.
54:04Just, I don't know. Again, on the spreadsheet, Tampa should be a lot better than they are.
54:09It's the Baker turnovers have really been a nightmare.
54:12He's doing the I run around holding the ball like a loaf of bread thing.
54:17And defenders are very, very keen on that, right?
54:20They're very kind of honed in on an unprotected ball, doing the swiping and all the punching that goes on now.
54:26I like to think Tampa as an underdog at home should kind of be a smash pick.
54:32But man, that Minnesota defense really heats up offenses to the extent, Jake, that you like change your plan.
54:38Look what they did to the Bears. The way they blitz and all the pressures that they send between Dallas Turner and
54:45Andrew Van Ginkle, it's like two legit first team pro bowlers are facing down every play.
54:50I don't know, man. I'm caught on the fence again.
54:53I feel like by week three, I normally have stronger takes.
54:57This one's 42 and a half on the total.
54:59Like I mentioned, a one and a half point spread.
55:03So a lot of non-committal attitudes here. And I'm one of them.
55:06I don't got much. What do you think about this one?
55:10I'm really kind of away from this as outside of the stars.
55:14I'll give you a strong take on this one, John.
55:17I will not trust Baker Mayfield this week against this defense.
55:20Aside from the first half of week one, the Brian Flores defense for the Vikings, it's just been suffocating.
55:27You mentioned it. The deep passes were impossible for Caleb Williams last week.
55:31So any hope that you had to start like Ted Hurst as a flex player this week, that's out the window for me.
55:38You know, him and Tess Johnson are kind of Tampa Bay's deep threats.
55:42And that guy Buka is also probably going to have a tough time of it too.
55:47I mean, honestly, my preferred Bucks receiver this week is not going to feel good.
55:52It's Chris Godwin. Even if he's probably capped it around like 15 fantasy points in PPR formats, he's actually the guy that
55:59I would trust the most because we also have this Bucks backfield, which is kind of scaring me right now.
56:05Tampa Bay's offensive coordinator came out and said, Bucky Irving is on kind of a pitch count to keep him healthy all season.
56:13And they also said they want to ride the hot hand.
56:16So I'm picturing like 15 touches for Bucky against this really, really tough defense instead of the 20 plus that we got last week.
56:24I mean, I'm putting Bucky and Gainwell, Kenny Gainwell much closer in my rankings than consensus and not even because of the
56:31hot hand thing, but just because what we saw of DeAndre Swift last week against Minnesota is kind of the approach.
56:38I think Tampa Bay is going to have to take like he caught five passes for 54 yards.
56:43It looked like one of the few things that was kind of working.
56:47And I think Kenny Gainwell has been massively underutilized in his past catching role.
56:52So I don't know. I don't both are outside of my top 20 running backs though this week.
56:58It's just not a good spot for your Tampa Bay Bucks.
57:01I'm okay with Kyler though, John. I know not everybody is.
57:05So I would love to hear if you were on or off the Kyler Murray train for this week.
57:11I actually think he's a perfectly fine start. So Kyler over Geno?
57:15I would do Kyler over Geno. Yep. Or it's close for the rushing floor.
57:19I'll give you that. I really will give you that.
57:22I'll give you that. I mean, and I was writing this game up trying to, you know, glean something from whatever seven dropbacks Kyler gave us.
57:31He did complete two passes to Justin Jefferson for what it's worth.
57:34So at least he understood the assignment. And there's something to that, right?
57:39There really is something to that. When all fails, find J.
57:42Jeff and hammer him. That side of the ball has been really frustrating.
57:46Jennings, I think, is going to be back, which really just kind of smushes the Jordan Addison hopes into little tiny dust balls.
57:53And I don't know if he's a drop right now.
57:57I've been telling people to just hold on a little bit more.
58:01Addison is making all the wrong lists. He's on the shortest list of players that have more than, it's like four or five guys.
58:08Jake, he has over 50 routes run and just two receptions for 21 yards.
58:13I mean, it could get better. But, you know, Jennings always tends to earn time on the field because of the blocking and stuff.
58:20Yeah, I think I'm with you. You're probably starting like a buka, but you don't feel good about any of it.
58:27I have done some, well, I have sat some really great players against Minnesota knowing that, again, they're blitzing 48% of the time.
58:34That is outrageous. And when you get to those Minnesota games in the fourth quarter and you see it's 6-3, you're really
58:41not running to check your own box score. How did my guys do, right?
58:46When you see a 35, you're like, yeah, let's go.
58:49Maybe I got a couple TDs. Not the case in this one.
58:53I have no problem with people avoiding it again outside the stars.
58:57Next up, Seattle Seahawks. There are seven and a half point favorites on the road.
59:01Nations capital to face the Commodores. Oh, man. Seattle is getting Sam Darnold back.
59:06Sorry, I just had that. I just had that push notification come through like he's fine.
59:11Drew Locke was acquitting himself perfectly. I hope Darnold is healthy.
59:14That's my thing is I hope he's healthy because Locke is fun, has been fun.
59:19He also has some really great games as a backup, but regardless, the thing I was watching back was Mariota.
59:26His pass prop for this weekend is like 170, which is so low.
59:30When I actually thought he played pretty well as a backup, right?
59:34If I'm talking about giving Winston grace, Mariota came out and slung it.
59:38I think Washington has done a good job of, I don't know how to put this, like your backup should probably be
59:45a facsimile of your real quarterback, right? Find the team version of your actual quarterback.
59:50That way, I think it helps to keep all the trains on time.
59:54Just helps to keep the whole offense on schedule where you don't want to go from left-hander to right-hander or a statue
60:01passer to running quarterback where everything could kind of go cuckoo.
60:04So maybe that was part of it, but I thought Mariota looks good.
60:08I mean, it was just a little bit unfortunate.
60:11Deami Brown like had a touchdown on the first snap.
60:14That could have turned the game around. McLaurin let him down more than once.
60:19McLaurin had like two bad drops that hurt them.
60:22So maybe Mariota is better than the public thinks, but this Seattle defense is still really, really good.
60:27I mean, to be worse than the TD on the dog in your own building is really tough.
60:33I generally don't go for those covers, but I do think it happens.
60:37Seattle makes it very easy for us, Jake. I think you're starting JSN off.
60:42Obviously, please don't ever send me a screenshot of sitting JSN even against the Vikings.
60:47Even as a joke, don't do that. Yeah, right.
60:49We don't flare up about that kind of stuff.
60:52I think you're starting A.J. Barner, right? If you have a tight end that's going to be getting goal line carries because
60:59I probably should have led with how I'm off the whole running back room.
61:04It's too much of a mishmash there. But Barner might be the goal-to-go guy.
61:08That's an interesting pick. If he's on waivers, I think he's worth a look.
61:13But Seattle is a very narrow tree, right? And Washington, I don't want to start him if I have to.
61:19I'll start McLaurin. I guess you're starting Diggs. But I don't want to start anybody else.
61:24Looks pretty ugly. Even JCM might get game scripted out.
61:27They moved to Rashad White when they were down for pass catching.
61:31What do you think about this one? Yeah, I mean, Sam Darnold himself, I think, should be very serviceable because this is a soft matchup.
61:39But I'm personally not trusting any other pass catchers in Seattle.
61:43And that includes A.J. Barner. To me, and this goes a little bit back to the Kenyon-Sadiq conversation, I think, when they
61:50get a little too kitschy with tight ends, it does make me weary.
61:54Hypothetically, yeah, it's cool that he was seeing a goal line carry or two.
61:58And that's nice. But it just doesn't... It feels too hard to rely on.
62:03And especially, it does look like Jadarian Price will play.
62:06I don't know what the workload will look like for him.
62:09Emmanuel Wilson, he looked solid last week with his, you know, 20 plus touches.
62:14I do worry we'll get a bit of a Walker-Charbonnet split of old with these two, which is the absolute last thing you want.
62:22It just caps so much of their upside. And a healthy price in a timeshare, that's one thing.
62:27But a, you know, kind of questionable Jadarian Price, that's a whole other if he's going to be splitting time.
62:34The Marcus Mariota of it all, John, it's fine because last year he looked fine.
62:38As a fantasy QB in general, over like the eight games he played, he was capable of putting up some fantasy points
62:45and keeping Terry McLaurin fed in the process. But this is just a terrible matchup.
62:50It's the worst possible matchup for Mariota, I think, to be going into.
62:54Seattle's defense has allowed the fewest passing yards in the league.
62:58And that was to, you know, at least slightly better quarterbacks than Drake May.
63:02You could argue him and Jacoby Brissette, Mariota, maybe are on the same level.
63:07But it's just not good for Mariota. I do think McLaurin and Diggs are fine flex plays.
63:12But I'm not forcing them into my lineups. A big no thank you to the commander's backfield, though.
63:18I want to point that out. Like, I do not want to start Rashad White.
63:23I don't want to start JCM. Nobody. So just out of curiosity, because I'm actually finding this exercise help.
63:29I hope some listeners feel the same. As we're slotting these kind of secondary and ancillary guys.
63:34So Barner is behind Sadiq and Frymuth for you.
63:37And Mariota is behind like Geno and Kyler. Because you know what?
63:41Again, everybody knows you're going to start JSN. But I think helping to pull the curtain on, you know, the decision making for those.
63:49Again, those guys that maybe we're not so interested in.
63:52That's where, you know, that's how you make your bones in this game.
63:56Though, looking at the JSN stuff. I guess he's so easy to look past because he's so awesome.
64:02That I'm always squinting at stats when he's got ones that are just yelling at you.
64:07So he's at a 44% target per out. Five and a half yards per out.
64:12He has more targets, receiving yards, receptions, and touchdowns than all the other wide receivers and tight ends combined on his team.
64:19Just absolute outrageous. You're telling me there is a chance that he's good.
64:23Yeah. All right. Yeah. Okay. You heard me here first.
64:26I'm going out on a limb. And I'm telling you to start JSN.
64:30You may want to start Jameer Gibbs while you're at it.
64:34Yeah. Look at that AT chest coming at you on FFW.
64:37Next up, it's the Raiders. They are the most surprising 2-0 team probably in the league, though.
64:42I'm not sure if they're, I don't know if they're any less or more deserving than the Eagles who are like, oh,
64:50that Titan game made me just viscerally upset. Raiders are a three and a half point underdog on the road to my New Orleans Saints.
64:57Like, let's be very clear. These are my New Orleans Saints.
65:01I was early on the shock train. I was banging the drum for Juwan Johnson.
65:06I was screaming from the mountaintops about Devon Veilet.
65:09Hey, thank you very much. You know, for all the L's that I take.
65:13L for love, you know. I do get them right sometime.
65:17The Kellen Moore thing was a little too obvious for me.
65:20Good scheduling. Fast track. Very fast pace. Just a lot of the stuff that we love about fantasy.
65:26Also, what do we love is consolidation. And this one really got to me.
65:30Dude, I was mentioning to you off air and it's crazy that I don't know how many people could tell you that
65:37Bryce Lance is in the top 10 in the NFL in total routes run and has five targets earned.
65:43I mean, that is just crazy stuff. But it speaks again to the system and the pace that they're willing to play.
65:50And while you can't trust a receiver with two first names, let's make sure this puts that in there.
65:56We see that in MLB with pitching also. There you go.
66:00Yeah, for sure. I'm a little skeptical about the run game in New Orleans.
66:04But I think what I am higher on than the market.
66:08And that would be the defense. I think the defense is better than they're getting credit for.
66:13And I know. And I'm like the spreadsheet hunk.
66:16They face the Lions and the Ravens. And I think, I mean, listen, the Lions gained yards and scored points against them.
66:23Yeah, so does everybody. And the Ravens are also very good.
66:27So I'm really high in the Saints. I think the Raiders come back to earth.
66:32That run game, as much as we love the gente usage, it's stone cold.
66:36Terrific. The Linda Baum love, Colton Miller, and Clint Kubiak combination, I thought, would really boost it.
66:41Has not. They're averaging 2.8 yards for us. 2.8, Jake.
66:453.8 would be bad. 2.8 is unpalatable. I think New Orleans cleans up the Raiders in this one.
66:50I think the entire Raiders thing kind of falls apart this week.
66:54They're saying Bowers comes back. I'm guessing he'll be limited.
66:57What do you like? I mean, I was going to say, I thought we were burying the lead with Brock Bowers.
67:04Because even if he does come back and is limited.
67:07And to be clear, we don't know 100% that he's playing.
67:11He's just trending the right way. But if he comes back and he's on any sort of snap count or whatever, I
67:18do think that it helps out Ashton Gentry quite a bit.
67:21Because what have defenses had to guard against besides Ashton Gentry?
67:25I know that Trey Tucker burned, you know, last week.
67:28Burned very brightly. Five catches, 119 yards in the touchdown.
67:31Nobody is still going to divert that much of their defensive attention to Trey Tucker.
67:36With all due respect. With Brock Bowers, if he steps on the field, even if he's more of a decoy than anything,
67:43it should, and I emphasize should, open up the lanes a little bit for Ashton Gentry.
67:48So, you know, he's one of those guys you have to start just because he gets so much volume anyways.
67:54And if we can keep New Orleans defense honest, great.
67:58He won't have to crash his body against stack boxes all game long.
68:02So that's good. I will start Brock Bowers if he is out there.
68:06I just can't. I cannot fathom sitting him, even if we say he's only going to be out there 30% of the offensive plays.
68:14I want his 30% of those offensive plays. So, Tyler Shuck, though.
68:17Man, you nailed it. Leading the NFL in passing yards.
68:21I mean, his superpower, though, it might be put to the test this week, John, because his fantasy superpower is the comeback.
68:28Yeah. You know, his splits in the first half versus the second half are crazy.
68:32In the first half this year, 202 total yards.
68:35In the second half of games, 436 total yards.
68:38He has yet to throw a pass while leading in a game.
68:42So I do want to caution just a tiny bit on Tyler Shuck.
68:46I'm still fine starting him. I just don't think he's a must start in this particular matchup until we kind of see how he does in closer games.
68:55Last thing, could you help me make heads or tails of the Saints running game?
69:00They pay ETN on the first day of free agency.
69:03He gets the big bucks. They give his high-value work to Kendry Miller, who they turn around and healthy scratch, to give
69:10all the work to Alvin Kamara, who, like, is playing like a lead back right now.
69:15I don't – I'm telling people to just buy low and ETN, just kind of cover your nose and buy low.
69:22Before we get out of here for the next break, could you help us with the Saints back?
69:27Would you start one, either, neither, or both? I said to stay away from Travis A.
69:33Chan last week because I thought his floor without Alvin Kamara looked bad.
69:37Alvin Kamara came back. He wasn't even the biggest issue, but I'm staying away from Travis A.
69:42Chan completely. I will sit him. I will trade him.
69:45I will hope that he does okay enough that I can trade him after this week to get something more reliable because
69:52now and forever, I just don't see him being a consistently reliable fantasy back, unfortunately.
69:57Yeah, I can't believe I'm recommending people go pick up Kendry Miller because the second Kamara goes down, it's going to be Kendry's job.
70:05That's what it looks like. All right, Jake, we'll be back in a minute.
70:09We have some fantasy goodness coming up. Ravens and Cowboys, then the Chiefs, and unfortunately, my Dolphins, when we're back in a
70:16minute here on Fantasy Football Weekly, our Week 3 edition.
70:19All right, we're back with a four-pack left on this wonderful Week 3 of NFL football with Jake and John, your pals from Fantasy Life.
70:27Check out the utilization report, the game model, my game-by-game write-up.
70:31It's like a darn novella, Jake. The thing is, legit, like anywhere between 11,000 and 15,000 words, tons of my favorite stats.
70:38It's where I get to put my favorite little nugs that don't go anywhere else.
70:43They're too good for social media. It's a love story, John.
70:46That's really what it is. You write a love story every week to the NFL with this, and I think it's a wonderful read.
70:54Yeah, I work at so many weird jokes. I wonder how many people get any of my wonky 80s references.
71:00Anyway, next up, it's the Ravens and the Cowboys.
71:03Expecting a lot of fireworks here. Highest total on the board, 52.5.
71:07Yeah, Ravens enter his 3.5-point favorites. I just ran and checked the practice report.
71:11Zay Flowers did practice, and he was looking like the alpha.
71:15Now, interestingly enough, in his stead, Rashad Bateman, the ghost of Rashad Bateman, the post-post-post-post-post hype sleeper, I think I got that
71:22one right, actually performed pretty well, and I was really excited.
71:25It was what we were told we'd see before the season started with Declan Doyle, that he'd be moving in and out
71:32of the rotation and stuff, and that's exactly what we got from Bateman.
71:37He was fantastic. I wonder how that works with Flowers returning, because Bateman was kind of a non-entity with Flowers there.
71:43Obviously, he's starting Flowers. Maybe Bateman is flex-worthy. It all might stunt Mark Andrews, who, I'm doing air quotes, broke out just
71:50from volume-based love alone, against the Cowboys, who got it right last week.
71:54Dak looked fantastic. Holy macaroni, man. Ravens defense is a little bit spotty.
71:59It's weird. I want to love them. Jake, I really do.
72:02I want to love them. But the secondary seems to fail a lot of times.
72:07So I think they are beatable, and again, you don't want to be beatable in the secondary against the Cowboys.
72:13This one should be pretty interesting, but again, feels pretty focused, right?
72:17It's Lamar, of course. It's Henry, of course. It's Zay Flowers, of course.
72:21What your opinion on the secondary, guys? Dallas, of course.
72:24I think you've got to go Dak. You have to.
72:28You've got to go Javante for the pure usage.
72:30It's crazy. He's doing it all, even catching passes, and then the two big dogs.
72:35I guess, I don't know, you could play Ferguson.
72:38A lot of people would say above a 50-point total, we should be playing the tight ends.
72:44I'm just not crazy about catching fall, guys. Oh, make sure before you're done, slot Ferguson in our Sadiq Fryermuth race for the day.
72:51I mean, I think that Jake Ferguson still takes a back seat so long as George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb are both out there.
72:59Even though George Pickens is very obviously disappointed, nobody's arguing against that.
73:03But the mere fact of his presence healthy just says Jake Ferguson is going to have to catch a touchdown to be useful for you for fantasy.
73:11Whereas with Pat Fryermuth, with Kenyon Sadiq, I think that their usage in a more free and open depth chart should do them well.
73:19Whereas with Ferguson, I don't. Which, again, George Pickens, just to say it once, say it loudly, if you have him, I
73:26cannot advocate for sitting him this week. It is too juicy of a potential matchup, too high scoring.
73:32I think you need to just keep the faith one more week with George Pickens.
73:36If he burns you this week, then I'm sorry.
73:39I'll write you a handwritten note, and you never have to start him again.
73:44That could be our deal. With the other secondary guys, though, Rashad Bateman, you mentioned 88 yards and a touchdown last week.
73:51He looked nice. He stepped up where I was hoping Mark Andrews would.
73:55But I think it goes back to what this coaching staff said all along.
73:59They said after week one, hey, we had plans for Rashad Bateman to get some of those passes that went to Flowers.
74:06It just didn't quite work out that way. Which I guess to me says, Lamar Jackson has a very strong preference for Zay Flowers.
74:14And I don't know that we can trust the game planning if the quarterback isn't going to necessarily adhere to that game plan.
74:21I don't know if Bateman was supposed to be the first read on those plays or what, but I'm still fine with
74:28the flex of Bateman, even if Flowers is in.
74:31If Flowers is out, I'm in. Big time on Bateman, though.
74:35Oh, absolutely. 100%. I think with a limited practice, I think he'll play, although I've gotten faked out more than a couple
74:42times already this year, flip-flopping between injury optimism and injury pessimism, and deciding that injury-prone is and is not a thing, both in the same thought.
74:50So I think your advice about Pickens is well-placed.
74:53You've got to stay the course. You know, we're still getting seven targets a game, 23% target per route.
74:59A lot of the efficiency stuff has been bad.
75:02Because, listen, he has a couple bad drops. It happens.
75:05He's fifth in the league in unrealized air yards.
75:08Those will eventually be realized. Right? Pickens, I think, is going to be great.
75:12Anytime you're, you know, playing next to a guy like CeeDee Lamb, there's always a chance of getting phased out for a game or two.
75:20And that door swings both ways. So I'm not worried about Pickens at all.
75:25It's actually the Flournoy usage that kind of had me doing, like, the eyebrow up.
75:30I didn't realize just how involved this guy is.
75:32He's already at 55 routes and double-digit targets. It hasn't really been crazy efficient.
75:37But the preseason assertions, let's say, that Flournoy was one of the better, let's call it, contingency wide receiver plays, that I think is fully enforced right now.
75:46Meaning, even if you understand the league, Flournoy is probably not rostered.
75:50And he would be a smash pick, a smash pick for the waiver if one of those guys were to go down.
75:57In the time being, I really think you nailed it.
76:00Right now, it's just you're staying in your lane with the relative pieces, head on a swivel for that ball throw injury report.
76:07That was a great job, Jake. Next up, I actually caught some black last night for backing these Kansas City Chiefs.
76:14They're 11.5-point favorites on the road in Miami, who I somehow ended up as, like, the industry high man on the Dolphins.
76:21You were there. You watched this crash in real time.
76:24You know, you were there the whole time for me to try and get that, like, Wright Brothers type of plane.
76:31Nobody showed you the old plane. It had, like, the spinning copter up first, the gyro copter.
76:36I was hanging on to the wing for part of it.
76:40I don't want to absolve myself completely. I was in on some of these pieces.
76:45The thing is jumping up and down. I mean, I don't understand why Malik Willis is not running.
76:50I don't understand why Devon Achan is not getting targeted, like, eight times a game.
76:55They are the two best players by a country mile.
76:58Now there's no Caleb Douglas, and I don't know what we're going to make the boat out of.
77:04Are we going to make the whole boat out of Malik Washington?
77:08I kind of hope not. So Kansas City's been great.
77:11Again, like, they're reformed, right, as a run-first team.
77:14Walker's been great. Reed is back designing wonderful plays.
77:17That helps to cover up and put Cologne on a lot of the flaws in that pass-catching game.
77:22And all the Mahomes bulls, I'm sorry, I'm on the Chiefs right now.
77:27Enjoy it while it lasts. This is one of the wonkier kind of performances.
77:31He ran that first one in. He looked like the Tin Man doing it.
77:36And then he faced the Colt. So, like, I don't think this Mahomes fantasy production is going to last.
77:42I think it all flows through. Kenneth Walker, you're starting Kelsey.
77:45You're starting Walker, that's for sure. Miami, I don't even...
77:48I mean, you're starting, like, Willis in a superplex.
77:51But other than that, you're starting 8-chain because you have to out of stubbornness.
77:56But other than that, I don't think I'm touching anybody.
77:59I've been asking people that got on my case, Jake, about laying double-digit points.
78:03Miami has to score 17. Can they score 17 against Chris Jones and the Chiefs?
78:08I don't know. It's going to be asking a lot of Greg Dulcich, I think, at tight end, who is one of
78:15my biggest swings and misses this offseason. I really hope that we see something out of the rookie Chris Bell with this Caleb Douglas injury.
78:23Yeah, I don't want them to make the offense out of Malik Washington.
78:27I just don't think that Malik Washington is a special wide receiver.
78:31I think Chris Bell can be. You know, he's been dealing with some injury stuff.
78:36They knew about that when they drafted him. They knew it was going to be a slow ramp up.
78:42But they also said he's coming along much faster than they anticipated.
78:46So now is the time to get Chris Bell integrated.
78:49If he's out on your waivers and you want to bring him on as sort of like a speculative ad, I would highly recommend doing that.
78:57I do want to just talk about the Rasheed Rice of it all if we can with Kansas City.
79:03Because we have different opinions about, I think, Kansas City's offense in general.
79:07I've long been on the train of the Eric Biennemi offense's back baby.
79:11I've been saying that ever since they brought him back into the building, that I was expecting things to get more exciting for Kansas City.
79:19Once Patrick Mahomes was healthy enough to do that.
79:22And it's, you know, it seems like he's mostly there.
79:26I know he talked about his running. He's never really been a smooth runner, though.
79:30He always had like that power jog, ball walker kind of thing.
79:34Yeah. So I'm not going to hold that against him necessarily.
79:38But like Kenneth Walker, you can only give this guy that much volume so many games.
79:43They are going to have to back it off from him eventually if they want to keep him healthy.
79:49So I'm not worried about Mahomes. Travis Kelsey was doing Travis Kelsey things.
79:53I consider these guys must start until they prove otherwise.
79:56But it's Rasheed Rice that is the big question.
79:59A lot of people drafted him very highly. I know you and I were trying to kind of shove people off of that ADP during this offseason.
80:08He just has not stood out in the offense at all.
80:11He got a touchdown week one, but he had just one more target than Jake Briningstool.
80:16Who? Exactly. That is a problem. Then in week two, Casey looks like the fun Chiefs offenses of old, even though it's against the Colts.
80:24He had the same number of catches, but fewer yards than Tyquan Thornton.
80:28He's he's not standing out in the red zone.
80:31Xavier Worthy, Kenneth Walker. These guys have more red zone targets.
80:35I don't see the clear path to Rasheed Rice being this fantasy wide receiver one that some people expected.
80:41So he I don't think you have to sit him or anything drastic this week, but it might be time to consider
80:48trading him away for what some people think is, you know, trading high because the fantasy stats have looked okay enough these last couple of weeks.
80:56Yeah. Not interested in rice at all. I was telling people, I just don't think he was healthy or that good.
81:03And I think his purpose is now, you know, taken by Kenneth Walker.
81:07I think without a legitimate run game, they tried to use rice as an extension of that.
81:12Last call out before we take our final break.
81:15I 100% agree with the Kenneth Walker thing. I think they'll need to get ahead first, which I think they will.
81:22I think Emmitt Johnson at over seven yards a touch is actually a really good stream.
81:27If you're desperate for points. I know it's not, he's not going to be the RB one, but I think he could
81:34finish with a handful of points, maybe even get in the end zone because he could get the second half of the work.
81:41All right, Jake, we got two left. Final break coming up, PM games on deck, Rams and Broncos, Eagles and Bears.
81:48And Case Keenum, be excited, be, be excited when we get back here on Fantasy Football Weekly.
81:53Fantasy football people already know the feeling. You spend all week studying the matchup, then kickoff happens, and suddenly you're tracking every target, every carry, and every yard.

83:19This episode sponsored by Eureka Ergonomic. Here's something nobody talks about when designing a home office.
83:24Why is it so easy to find a beautiful sofa, but so hard to find a desk chair that doesn't look like it came from a corporate office?
83:33Most office chairs look like they belong in a sad cubicle, not in a thoughtfully designed home.
83:38They're bulky, overly technical, and can completely throw off the look of the room.
83:42That's why I like Eureka Ergonomic. Their leather office chairs reimagine what executive seating can look like, with a modern furniture-inspired design,
83:49clean silhouettes, premium leather finishes, and a refined aesthetic that actually elevates the room.

84:20And alongside my brother Tank, the superstar R&B singer, songwriter, and producer, we've created something special, the R&B Money Podcast.
84:27This is not just a podcast. It's a safe space where artists, executives, and fans of R&B music come to reminisce, pull
84:34back the curtain, and tell the stories that shaped this culture, the real history behind the hits.
84:39That was hood famous. Yeah. And then Real Love came out, and it blew up.
84:44We lived in a project. Yeah, and they're seeing all the success.
84:48They're hearing the music, and we had nothing. We're covering the entire spectrum from Smokey Robinson, Alicia Keys, B2K, Mary J.
84:55Blige, legends, current stars, and everyone who's contributed to the sound of R&B.
84:59You come out the gate with a hit. And then knock Michael Jackson out of number one.
85:04Come on, man. I was like, hold on. I'm not going to MJ out of the number one spot.
85:10If you're a super dedicated R&B fan who wants the real discovery, the real stories, this is your podcast.
85:16This is the R&B Money Podcast. Listen to R&B Money from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
85:25Fantasy Football Weekly, week three prep time. Final segment with Jake and John.
85:29Thanks for hopping along with us. Make sure you're checking out all the fun stuff at Fantasy Life Utilization Report, the game model, my work, Jake's Dynasty work.
85:38A lot of really good stuff going on over there.
85:41I'm really into dark mode. I cannot promote dark mode tools enough.
85:45Tell us you're old, John. My eyes. My poor eyes.
85:48Yo, light mode melts my face, okay? Light mode melts my face.
85:52All right, let's do the PM stuff. Now, again, I really feel like, well, I know I'm opinionated and I know I'm
85:59loud, but Jake, a couple games this weekend that I am just really, really torn on.
86:04And again, I think that's reflected in the totals, right?
86:08What did I mention before? Games within three points on the spread with around 45 point over-unders, which is exactly what we get Sunday night football.
86:16LA Rams, they've kind of corrected course. Head up to mile high to face the Broncos.
86:21Now, this one's a little bit flipped because the road team is the favorite.
86:25So there is a little more love going to the Rams.
86:29And as I was finishing up my glorious write-up, I came to the same conclusion, though it's only two weeks and I
86:36don't want to bury my priors on the Denver defense, right?
86:39A unit that I really held in high regard.
86:42My worry is really the Broncos offense. I guess we could start there.
86:46Bo Nix not playing well. And I found myself wondering, maybe I didn't ding him hard enough for that injury as late as it happened, right?
86:55It was like literally on the last play of that playoff game.
86:59In fact, I feel like I remember getting Rugg pulled on there going, wait, he got hurt?
87:04Didn't he kind of go back to the DVR?
87:07It was still on TV. I'm like, what do you mean he got hurt?
87:11When did this happen? And yeah, so it was really late in the year.
87:16And I know now we're expecting in the new peptide era that these guys kind of come back and half the time, 100%.
87:23Bo does not look it. And if you were fading Bo, you're feeling pretty good.
87:28Because he's in the single digit fantasy points per game.
87:31That's really trickled down. The Cortland Sutton stuff is really bad.
87:35I started to tease the D word. I don't think he's a drop just yet.
87:39But I think we're heading there. You know, Waddle finally had the breakout game getting the attention.
87:45But Sutton, it's just not working. Because I think Bryant, Pat Bryant looks like the more viable second option.
87:51He's eating up all the underneath stuff from the slot.
87:54And the pie right now is just not big enough for everybody.
87:58The backfield, everybody ran for Jonah Coleman with the Dobbins injury.
88:01And then Dobbins ends up, he's fine. He practiced.
88:04He's playing. Coleman is the guy that's hurt. People burned all their fab bucks.
88:09That one had to hurt. So I'm kind of throwing away the Australia game, Jake.
88:13Because McVay, who we know thinks he's protecting state secrets, will look you right in the face and lie.
88:19After the fact, though, seems to be pretty honest in his, like, self-assessment.
88:24And he took full responsibility for Galaxy branding the travel plan stuff.
88:27And that kind of reflected in the stat sheet.
88:30I mean, to take a guy like Pukunikua off the roster and still achieve eight yards of play with Devontae Adams looking
88:37like, you know, prime Jerry Rice out there, man.
88:40Rams look like they're not really to be messed with.
88:43I feel like the Rams, I am throwing away their first game.
88:47I feel like they are back on track. But, again, I don't want to hand-wave the Denver defense.
88:53Especially, it looks like Nakua is unlikely to play.
88:56So we have some, you know, immovable force, unstoppable object thing going on here.
89:00I'm feeling milquetoast. And I mentioned it before, when I get all those icks going on, I just kind of lean towards an under.
89:08So I'm starting Adams, of course. And maybe T-Ferg if Nakua is out.
89:12But I'm not really sure what else I like in this game.
89:16Denver has me a little skittish. What do you think about this game where, again, excitement is high?
89:22Almost, it's like the Patriots game for me. I am stoked to watch these two teams go at it.
89:28But I don't know how I like it for fantasy.
89:31How about you? I agree. I think that this might even go so far as to be called a trap game for a lot of these fantasy pieces.
89:40Because if Puka Nakua is out, of course, yeah, you start Devontae Adams and you feel very, very good about that.
89:47I don't even know that I feel good about starting Matthew Stafford this week, though.
89:51Because I do think that the Denver Broncos defense could actually show up.
89:55And I think that's the thing. Both of these defenses could have a day.
90:00And we might find ourselves talking about this game like we were talking about, you know, the Steelers and Bengals game from earlier.
90:07Where it's like, I don't know that I'm excited to start anybody from either of these backfields.
90:13Jonah Coleman, I was one of the guys getting hyped for Jonah Coleman when he had that opportunity.
90:18By the way, still a great guy to go out and trade for in Dynasty, Jonah Coleman.
90:24But in redraft, Kyron Williams and Blake Corum, it is a 50-50 headache.
90:28Like, I am shocked at how many rankings I've seen this week where the guys are still super far apart.
90:34Like, I'm talking dozens of spots apart. And I think this is a true 1A and 1B situation.
90:40And the Broncos did actually stiffen up against the run last week after letting Kenneth Walker, you know, run all over them.
90:47And these are not good enough running backs where they're going to do that.
90:52But they're also too good to sit. So you've kind of just got to hold your nose and hope that they get
90:59a tiny semblance of that Walker yardage from week one.
91:02But then on the other side, like, RJ Harvey, I guess, is a solid option this week because Jonah Coleman's going to be out.
91:09And because it's a great defensive matchup from a pure running, rushing perspective.
91:14But Harvey has that elevated role of pass catcher.
91:16And so, especially in PPR, you can make it work.
91:20But, like, aside from that, I'm so glad you called out the Bo Nix of it all.
91:25I felt like I was taking crazy pills with how high he was being ranked all offseason.
91:30And it's not just that he's not running or scrambling like he was last year.
91:35He threw so much last year and was so inefficient.
91:38And we just were expecting him, I guess, to throw exactly as much as he did.
91:44And it's just not the case. So I got to take the L, though, on Waddle.
91:49I didn't want to start Jalen Waddle at all last week.
91:52You were trying to convince me to. And I wish that I had followed that advice in more of my leagues.
91:59I only got him in there in a couple of spots because I was still too nervous.
92:04But I think Waddle's the guy and everybody else is just, I don't know, look elsewhere.
92:09Yeah, again, I'm really worried about Sutton. I think he's going to get jumped soon.
92:14I think that almost feels inevitable right now as they kind of look for answers and explosives.
92:20Sutton just doesn't really feel like that guy. The Nix call out with the running, you gloss past it.
92:26But, yeah, it's big. Man, it's big. His scramble rate is gone, right?
92:30He's at 1.6% right next to Aaron Rodgers. He has fewer rushing yards than Jared Goff.
92:35That's not easy. Yeah, that hurts. That's not what you signed up for.
92:39Again, not that he was going to run for 80 yards like Lamar, but you were always hoping for 25s and 30s.
92:46Those two and a half, three points. And then, like you mentioned, the volume of passing that hasn't happened, not great.
92:53Starting Geno over Bo Nix, let me just say.
92:56Starting Geno Smith over Bo Nix. That's my decision.
92:58Oh, good call. Love that call up. Yeah, dude, I'm with you.
93:02Right now, call me Missouri. Got to show me first right now.
93:06I do want to get to one thing because it's rare that we kind of disagree.
93:11And it's the Rams running back. Now, all the numbers you said are correct.
93:16The raw totals are definitely split. However, the type of split should make them kind of far apart because not only is
93:23Kyron the only one really catching passes, right? He has five for five, 36 in the score.
93:28Corum has a single target. Kyron also has 100% of the goal-to-go stuff, which, again, is going to be very valuable on a prolific offense.
93:36So, title-wise, I think Corum might be the better runner.
93:39I feel like watching him, he is the more explosive player.
93:43McVay is kind of married to the Kyron thing.
93:46I would be looking to add Corum. He is, like, potentially a massive league winner if something happens to Kyron.
93:52All right, let's move on to the last game.
93:55Great show, by the way, Jake. I love hanging out with you, man.
93:59We got Philadelphia Eagles. They're on the road after just the luckiest win you could imagine against the hapless Titans, four-and-a-half-point favorites on the road.
94:07And, again, I don't really like the Eagles right now.
94:10This is the worst iteration that I imagined of them.
94:13And I still think they should be more than four-and-a-half-point favorites, even though it's on the road and even though it's in Chicago.
94:21Chicago, all reports point to Case Keenum is going to start.
94:24It's possible Bajent clears in time because they have the extra day.
94:28But as of right now, he hasn't practiced or seen any contact.
94:32As of right now, he is not playing. You cannot play off the concussion like that.
94:37That's not how this works. I had to go digging through my notes.
94:41Case Keenum, whose we've last seen in 2023, has not attempted 100 passes since 2019.
94:46Oh, my gosh. Hey, what are we doing here, my friend?
94:49What are we doing here? Oh, my gosh. Somebody call Zach Wilson.
94:53What is going on? I can't believe this. Phillip Rivers, I don't even know what's going on.
94:59I don't know. I don't know how you could back anybody with the Bears as far as pass catching.
95:05I'd imagine that you're going to get all the Monungi and Swift that you could stomach, right?
95:10You'll probably get a million runs from them as they try and disguise Case Keenum.
95:15I was looking it up, and he does have an elevated career target rate to the tight end.
95:21This would be funny. That was kind of my note was.
95:24It would be classic fantasy football for Colston Loveland to break out in the Case Keenum game as everyone sat him.
95:31Yes. But wouldn't that be perfect? But other than that, that's just a joke.
95:35I was asked yesterday on the Fantasy Life Show whether I thought Case Keenum could unlock Colston Loveland or Luther Burden in fantasy.
95:43He's not going to unlock him. It may happen.
95:45And I said, please, God, no. If that happens, we should just stop fantasy football.
95:50If that's what it takes. Yes. Okay. Unlocking implies his skill level elevated something.
95:55No, it is just possible that Case Keenum finds Colston Loveland in the end zone on a play-action play.
96:01That's as far as I'm willing to go. That's as far as I'm willing to go.
96:06But yeah, on the Philly side, it's been really disappointing.
96:09I mean, you're starting Hurts because of the running and stuff, and he's throwing some TDs.
96:14You love Smith. Lemon is kind of coming on with Goddard out.
96:18Some people are starting Johnny Munt. Before we have to get out of here, we still have a couple minutes.
96:24But where does Munt slot in this, the great tight end debate?
96:28I mean, people are starting him. I don't know.
96:31He ran all the routes, but he only had a few like nothing targets.
96:36I'd rather have all the guys we mentioned. Possibly.
96:38Wherever the lowest tight end is, dig a hole and then go under that.
96:43And that's where I want to put Munt. We should call out Zach Ertz, though.
96:48Did get signed to the practice squad for Philly.
96:51It would be interesting to see if that guy comes back.
96:54If we want to get Case Keenum and Zach Ertz and make this 2014 all over again, I guess we can.
97:01I do just want to say Saquon Barkley. I know he hasn't looked the same.
97:05He hasn't looked like the 2024 version of Saquon that we wanted.
97:09It's still a great matchup against the Bears. I mean, the Bears just let Aaron Jones run away with 105 yards.
97:16So Saquon is going to be just fine. I do think much like the Justin Herbert where people are like, Jalen Hurts, what do I do?
97:24He shouldn't have many issues against this defense. I think he looks closer to Bryce Young's stat line against the Bears than
97:31Carson Wentz's stat line against the Bears defense. So, you know, obviously Devontae Smith's the start.
97:36Dante Van Wicks, though, I do want to call out people in a bad spot with Puka Nakua and him probably being
97:43out but not fully being decided out yet. If they don't have a good second option where they want to hold out
97:50hope until the bitter end to see if he plays.
97:54Dante Van Wicks. That's a guy that you could pick up maybe on waiver still.
97:58I think he'll have a really solid day. Yeah, good call out.
98:02You know, you mentioned something I wanted to bring up.
98:05Well, one was, I mean, I was curious what your take was on Makai Lemon.
98:10The rap participation is starting to spike, but he's not earning targets.
98:14He feels more like a boomer bust kind of sleeper.
98:17Again, I'm going to go Missouri. I want to see it first.
98:21But you mentioned the Barkley thing. Okay, so Barkley caught the shoulder stinger, left the game, returned, left the game again.
98:28He did practice. I think he's on track. It's a great matchup.
98:32However, what I did feel like I learned from that one was, and you got to take an L and their deep L, so they happen.
98:40I had tanked Bigsby up around the Blake Corum, up around Emmitt Johnson as like the, that's the handcuff you really want
98:47to have, even without any standalone value. And I don't know if that's the case.
98:52Will Shipley out snapped him like twice over. However, now, Bigsby did get the carries, and I think he'd be in line for the goal line stuff.
99:00But any hope that we had of like, you know, tank Bigsby to the moon, three down back, catches plus baseline, I think is incorrect.
99:08So, I don't know, all these things are very situational depending on your league, but like I would drop Bigsby if I could get Emmitt Johnson.
99:17I know a lot of these, some people are all wrong.
99:20Oh, Johnson's been rostered. But sometimes people have to make tough decisions and cut these backs, and they get rotated and hope to get scooped up again.
99:29So, I always like to keep those rankings of handcuffs.
99:32Would you agree with that? With Philly, do you think maybe I'm just misplaced because they had to deal with it on the fly?
99:39Like maybe with preparation, Bigsby would be that guy.
99:42I've heard that argument as well. I'm not sold.
99:45Shipley kind of scared me off. Yeah, I mean, I do want to call out, because we referenced it with Jameis Winston coming in halfway through the game.
99:54Your game plan is not going to be the same for tank Bigsby as it was with Saquon Barkley.
100:00But all that said, I don't see tank Bigsby as being like this runaway, 80% of the workload kind of guy in
100:07the event that Barkley misses again, which Barkley did say he will play this week.
100:12I guess he did tell media officially. So, we're going to have to wait if we're going to see this bear out at all.
100:20But I'm not worried about Will Shipley. I'm kind of just worried that they move away from the run a little bit more in that event.
100:28Oh, I like that bear out. Really great little word smithery on the way out the door.
