68

Aaron Jones

PositiveUsage51:18

With Jordan Mason out, Jones is expected to receive the vast majority of carries, making him a necessary start despite concerns about his workload.

Insight page

Aaron Rodgers

NegativeBust58:41

Fantasy managers should feel confident sitting Aaron Rodgers and not thinking twice about it.

Insight page

AJ Barner

PositiveUsage121:02

A.J. Barner is a viable fantasy option as he appears to have secured the secondary pass-catching role for the Seahawks, putting to rest concerns about Elijah Arroyo encroaching on his playing time.

Insight page

Antonio Williams

PositiveSleeper115:08

Antonio Williams should be added everywhere and is a sleeper flex option. With Chig Okonkwo out, Williams stepped into a prominent role in the Commanders' offense and is expected to be involved in three-wide receiver sets.

Insight page

Baker Mayfield

PositiveProjection32:36

Baker Mayfield is a recommended start for Week 2 due to the revenge game narrative and the Browns' defensive struggles without Myles Garrett.

Insight page

Bijan Robinson

PositiveUsage45:11

Robinson commanded a massive 52.5% target share, which is unsustainable but makes him a must-start for fantasy gamers.

Insight page

Bo Nix

NegativeProjection64:08

Nix is incredibly hard to trust for fantasy because he lacks the scrambling ability and high pass volume that fueled his success last year.

Insight page
NegativeProjection106:25

Bo Nix is difficult to trust for fantasy after a poor Week 1 performance where he lacked the scrambling ability and high pass volume that fueled his previous success. His underlying metrics were poor, including an ADOT under 4 yards, only 20% of passes reaching the first down marker, and a 15% splint rate.

Insight page

Brian Thomas Jr.

PositiveProjection63:04

Thomas looked very good before his injury and is expected to be fine for fantasy purposes.

Insight page

Bucky Irving

PositiveBreakout27:15

Bucky Irving is a strong fantasy asset who earned all the receiving work in Week 1 and looks like an RB1 value.

Insight page

C.J. Stroud

NegativeProjection43:03

Stroud is not recommended for fantasy lineups without Nico Collins, as On Plus is not comfortable starting him without his top receiver.

Insight page
NegativeProjection70:43

C.J. Stroud is not a recommended start without Nico Collins in the lineup.

Insight page

Chase Brown

PositiveUsage70:21

Chase Brown is a workhorse with 20 touches; he is expected to benefit from a better game script this season due to the Bengals' improved defense.

Insight page

Chris Brooks

PositiveDepth Chart50:37

Chris Brooks looked more efficient than Marshawn Lloyd in the Packers' backfield, potentially due to his longer tenure in the offense; he is a player to watch for workload increases.

Insight page

Chris Godwin

PositiveProjection34:11

Chris Godwin is a solid start for managers seeking a comfortable 10 fantasy points in PPR formats.

Insight page

Chris Olave

NegativeInjury17:01

Chris Olave looked good in Week 1 but tweaked his hamstring; fantasy managers should monitor his status and have a backup plan ready.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

NegativeProjection125:09

Fantasy managers should be worried about Christian McCaffrey heading into the Week 2 matchup against the 49ers, who are significant favorites.

Insight page

Christian Watson

NegativeUsage45:16

Christian Watson is viewed as the best player on the field with the ball in his hands, appearing a step faster than everyone else, though there is a boom-or-bust concern regarding defensive attention.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

NegativeUsage49:05

Loveland is coming off a disappointing 'goose egg' performance despite having the expected usage, leaving On Plus frustrated with his production.

Insight page

Cooper Rush

NegativeProjection47:15

Rush is viewed as a liability with poor EPA per dropback and a high 23% rate of sacks or interceptions, making him a player to avoid if better options exist.

Insight page

Courtland Sutton

NegativeUsage107:21

Courtland Sutton led the Broncos' wide receivers in snaps, routes run, and air yards in Week 1. While the offense is struggling, he is a forced start in many situations due to his role, despite the team's overall offensive inefficiency.

Insight page

Dallas Goedert

PositiveProjection8:47

Dallas Goedert performed well in Week 1 and is a recommended start for Week 2 against Tennessee.

Insight page

Dalton Schultz

PositiveRole42:57

Schultz is a reliable safety blanket for the quarterback and is considered a trustworthy start given the current tight end landscape.

Insight page
PositiveValue70:57

Dalton Schultz is a comfortable start as he has proven to be a reliable safety blanket for C.J. Stroud.

Insight page

David Montgomery

PositiveUsage43:07

Montgomery is a recommended start; he showed significant involvement in the passing game, receiving more targets than Woody Barks in the previous week.

Insight page

De'Von Achane

NegativeUsage23:50

De'Von Achane's ceiling is concerning with Alvin Kamara back in the mix, leading to a preference for other options in starting lineups.

Insight page

Demond Claiborne

PositiveSleeper52:06

Claiborne is a recommended waiver wire stash who has received offseason hype and carries comparisons to Devon Achane.

Insight page

DeVonta Smith

PositiveUsage9:00

Despite a disappointing Week 1, DeVonta Smith remains a strong start due to a 97% route participation rate and a lack of competition for targets in the Philadelphia offense.

Insight page

Dontayvion Wicks

PositiveSleeper9:55

Dontayvion Wicks is a sneaky streamer and free agent add who should be prioritized over players like Carnell Tate due to being attached to a more functional offense.

Insight page

Drake London

NegativeProjection45:08

Despite concerns regarding the quarterback situation with Cooper Rush, London is considered a near-elite receiver who should not be rushed to the bench.

Insight page

Drake Maye

NegativeProjection58:58

Drake Maye is facing a tough defensive matchup against Pittsburgh, and while the emphasis is on getting the ball out fast, he is not a recommended start this week.

Insight page

Elijah Sarratt

NegativeSleeper21:33

Elijah Surratt is a speculative waiver add for those with deep benches, but he is not a priority given his lack of preseason impact and absence from the Week 1 rotation.

Insight page

Emeka Egbuka

PositiveProjection33:45

Emeka Egbuka is a recommended start and the de facto wide receiver one for the Buccaneers, having looked better than expected in Week 1 despite injury concerns.

Insight page

Harold Fannin

NegativeUsage30:22

Harold Fannin Jr. should likely remain in most lineups out of desperation, though his Week 1 performance was disappointing.

Insight page

Hunter Henry

PositiveValue60:11

Hunter Henry is a strong start and the true WR1 for New England in the absence of A.J. Brown; he serves as a security blanket for Drake May and is a red-zone threat.

Insight page

J.K. Dobbins

NegativeBust108:22

J.K. Dobbins is a fade because he lacks upside without scoring a touchdown. In Week 1, he managed only 8 carries and 0 targets for 36 total yards, leading to the conclusion that he will be a disappointing start most weeks.

Insight page

Ja'Marr Chase

PositiveProjection67:18

Ja'Marr Chase is expected to get back into the saddle as the Bengals face a negative game script, which should help achieve offensive equilibrium.

Insight page

Jadarian Price

PositiveValue119:51

Jadarian Price is the preferred rookie running back over Jeremiah Love. Price demonstrated strong fundamentals in Week 1, including pass protection, and ran 11 routes without allowing any pressures, earning the team's trust.

Insight page

Jake Ferguson

NegativeDepth Chart113:54

Jake Ferguson is a drop candidate following the Cowboys' poor offensive performance in Week 1, where the passing game struggled significantly.

Insight page

Jalen Hurts

PositiveProjection8:47

Jalen Hurts performed well in Week 1 and is a recommended start for Week 2 against Tennessee.

Insight page

Javonte Williams

PositiveUsage117:14

Javonte Williams is a true workhorse back. Despite potential frustration from fantasy managers regarding his Week 1 production, his usage is secure and he remains a valuable asset.

Insight page

Jaxon Smith-Njigba

PositiveProjection118:52

Jaxon Smith-Njigba has proven to be 'matcher-proof' and showed no drop-off in production with Drew Locke at quarterback in Week 1.

Insight page

Jayden Reed

NegativeRole48:30

Jaden Reed earned seven targets but had a low output, making him more of a flex-type player in the current Green Bay offense.

Insight page

Jordan Addison

PositiveSleeper50:16

With Jennings likely out, Addison becomes an intriguing flex play who has shown the ability to pop off for big plays.

Insight page

Jordan Love

PositiveProjection44:03

Jordan Love is expected to pass frequently due to backfield circumstances; he performed well against the Vikings, throwing for nearly 400 yards and two touchdowns in the second half.

Insight page

Justin Herbert

NegativeProjection58:46

Herbert is technically a start, but On Plus feels begrudgingly about it due to the poor offensive line and lack of offensive efficiency.

Insight page

Justin Jefferson

PositiveProjection50:00

Jefferson remains an elite wide receiver who is a must-start as long as he has a half-competent quarterback throwing him the ball.

Insight page

Kendre Miller

PositiveUsage25:21

Kendre Miller is a recommended waiver add because he received 100% of the goal-to-go attempts in Week 1, offering high-value touchdown potential.

Insight page

Kendrick Bourne

PositiveSleeper122:21

Kendrick Bourne is a recommended add. He performed well in his first game and is considered a viable option in the Cardinals' passing attack alongside Michael Wilson and Trey McBride.

Insight page

Kenyon Sadiq

PositiveSleeper53:32

Kenyon Sadiq is a physical freak with high burst, evidenced by a 20 mph foot speed on a three-yard run; he posted a 25% target-per-route rate and 1.75 yards per route, making him a player to watch.

Insight page

Makai Lemon

NegativeUsage9:59

Makai Lemon is a sit candidate after a poor Week 1 performance featuring negative yardage on his targets.

Insight page

Mark Andrews

PositiveUsage20:00

Mark Andrews is the primary beneficiary of the Ravens' wide receiver injuries and is a recommended start.

Insight page

MarShawn Lloyd

NegativeBust48:50

Marshawn Lloyd is a concern after a poor Week 1 performance (13 carries for 37 yards, <3 yards per attempt); fantasy managers should monitor his workload relative to Chris Brooks to determine if he remains viable.

Insight page

Marvin Harrison Jr.

NegativeBust122:34

Marvin Harrison Jr. should be benched for the upcoming matchup. He has not established himself as the clear wide receiver one on the Cardinals, and the team's passing game is currently too messy to trust.

Insight page

Matthew Golden

PositiveBreakout45:34

Matthew Golden is emerging as the true WR2 for Green Bay, out-targeting Christian Watson in the last game and showing improved rapport with Jordan Love; he has 10 catches for 179 yards and a touchdown over his last two games.

Insight page

Michael Mayer

PositiveRole59:52

Mayer is a recommended start as part of the Raiders' two-man show in the passing game.

Insight page

Mike Gesicki

NegativeUsage67:27

Mike Gesicki's recent usage was likely game-script dependent; fantasy managers should not chase his recent performance.

Insight page

Quentin Johnston

NegativeValue59:40

Johnston is considered a desperation flex play only, as On Plus does not feel comfortable starting him.

Insight page

Rashid Shaheed

PositiveBust122:03

Rashid Shaheed is a drop candidate. There are concerns about his target depth and route maturity with Drew Locke at quarterback, and there is a possibility that Torrey Horton could eventually work his way into the offense.

Insight page

Rashod Bateman

NegativeUsage18:39

Rashad Bateman is not recommended as a replacement for injured players despite coaching staff claims of wanting to get him the ball, as his actual usage and production remain poor.

Insight page

Rhamondre Stevenson

PositiveRole60:05

Rhamondre Stevenson remains the preferred start over Trevion Henderson, as the trust level in his role is higher despite the team's overall offensive struggles.

Insight page

Romeo Doubs

PositiveValue56:44

Romeo Doubs is a hold for fantasy managers, as his profile remains promising in the absence of the team's main pass catcher.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

PositiveProjection8:47

Saquon Barkley performed well in Week 1 and is a recommended start for Week 2 against Tennessee.

Insight page

Terry McLaurin

PositiveUsage114:02

Despite a quiet Week 1, Terry McLaurin is a hold. He was running routes all over the field rather than just being used on go-routes, suggesting he remains a key part of the Commanders' passing attack.

Insight page

Tony Pollard

NegativeValue12:21

Tony Pollard is a desperation start for the Titans, though he remains a difficult player to trust given the team's poor offensive performance.

Insight page

TreVeyon Henderson

PositiveRole55:52

Trevion Henderson is expected to return and could step into a featured role for the Patriots in the absence of A.J. Brown, though there is some caution regarding the overall offensive failure.

Insight page

Tucker Kraft

PositiveUsage46:51

Tucker Kraft is a recommended start despite a pitch count; he posted a 27% target-per-route rate and nearly three yards per route, showing high efficiency with over six yards after the catch per reception.

Insight page

Wan'Dale Robinson

PositiveUsage13:21

Wan'Dale Robinson is a desperation start with some untapped creativity and potential for usage in negative game scripts, particularly against a defense that struggles to defend the slot.

2:43Oh yeah, welcome back. Another episode of Fantasy Football Weekly.
2:47Week 2 with your host, faithful narrator, John Laghezza.
2:50Wakey, wakey. It's eggs and jakey. Thank goodness my partner, Jake Trowbridge, is back.
2:54I almost lost my mind without you. Don't know how I kept this show within the guardrails.
3:00Jake, so good to have you back. How was your little rest period?
3:04It was wonderful. And I just have to say thank you for holding down the fort with great aplomb as I gallivanted
3:11around New England with my wife for our five-year wedding anniversary.
3:15Congrats. I had to get this vacation in and connect with my wife before I get sucked into this vortex that is the NFL season.
3:23So now that we've done that, now there's no excuses.
3:26And I'll be here for the long haul. Yeah, winter is coming, as they say.
3:31That's right. So, you know, I'm fully prepped and ready for war.
3:35I released my Week 2 Blitz over at MB Fantasy Life.
3:39I've been doing these game-by-game write-ups. They end up being like 15,000-word epic novellas.
3:43But it's, you know, stats and alignment, progressions, projections, regression, and just everything in between.
3:48The model scores, utilization score, McFarlane's great work over there.
3:51It's very hard to sum up a football game really quickly, and I'm not really one for brevity.
3:57So let's try and do the best we can to get through this slate.
4:02Man, really good to have you back. I'm so glad to see you on the screen.
4:07We're going to start. It's the Eagles, Philadelphia Eagles, on the road in Tennessee Music City.
4:12Eagles kind of got an ugly yet decisive win.
4:15Tennessee definitely got beat up by my Jets. I was telling everybody that they were going to win outright as a dog.
4:23That happened. Philly is a seven-point favorite against Tennessee.
4:25You know, just start from the top. Who do you like?
4:29Who don't you like? Do you think we're going to get bounce backs again?
4:34Week two with all the new information, Jake. A lot of moving pieces.
4:38Take it away. I mean, is it okay to just say, sit Tennessee?
4:42If you see Tennessee next to somebody's name right now, I don't have the most confidence in them.
4:48On the other hand, when you see Tennessee as somebody that your players are going against for fantasy, it feels like you're
4:55going to give them a bump up no matter what until things change.
5:00And I know it's only one week, John. So every year there are good and bad defenses that look the opposite in week one.
5:07And then they change. And there's some of these defenses that we drafted very highly.
5:12If you draft a defense for your home leagues and whatnot that you didn't feel very good about after week one, and they will also course correct.
5:21So I'm sure Tennessee can do the same. But as of right now, I look at Jalen Hurts.
5:27I look at Saquon Barkley. I look at Dallas Goddard.
5:30All guys who did very well last week. And I just say, great.
5:35Let's do that again. But this time, let's let Devontae Smith do some work as well.
5:40Obviously, folks who were hyping him up, ourselves included, or certainly myself included, disappointed by what you got out of Devontae Smith.
5:47But I think it's reassuring in a way, at least, to see that he doesn't have a lot of competition for wide receiver.
5:55Dontabian Wicks, of course, kind of had a weird blow up in week one.
5:59Not expecting that. But the rookie, Makai Lemon, who I've been very, very excited about this offseason, not so much competition for Devontae Smith there, John.
6:08Three catches in negative yards somehow. I don't even know how that works.
6:12I didn't even get to see this game personally, John.
6:15But how does that work? You tell me. Well, negative eight dots will kill you.
6:20Normally, that's reserved for running back analysis. But that was the case with Lemon.
6:25So I think you make a great call out.
6:28Smith should be fine. 97% route participation rate. He earned six targets when three for a scoreless 53 yards.
6:34But I do think that'll pick up 19% target per route rate and one and two-thirds yards per route.
6:40So, again, if that's like the floor, I guess we'll take it.
6:44Philadelphia may have a bit of a small pie to eat from.
6:48But it does look very consolidated. Just four pass catchers earned the target.
6:52Lemon, I think I want to sit until I see it first.
6:56Wicks feels like, you know, kind of a sneaky streamer.
6:59Like a free agent ad. And to be honest, a guy that I might plug in if I did have any Titans.
7:07I don't have any Titans because I was recommending against just this.
7:10Worried they would pick up exactly where they left off.
7:14And that was just it. They didn't even run 50 plays.
7:17They didn't even eclipse 200 yards. They barely got over four yards of play.
7:22It's really ugly in Music City. So, I would start a guy like Dontavian Wicks over a guy like Carnell Tate.
7:29And I know there's probably an eye roll in there somewhere.
7:32But I just want to be attached to functioning offenses.
7:36Before we move on, is there literally no one you would start for the Titans?
7:41I have Tony Pollard in a fantasy life work league.
7:44And I'm like, oh my gosh, I don't even know what to do with him right now.
7:49I would almost rather go off the wire for like a backup or maybe speculate in the Vikings backfield.
7:56Where are you drawing the lines at the Titans?
7:59Is there literally no Tennessee player you'd start? John, I called both Tony Pollard and Wandale Robinson.
8:04Desperation starts for the Titans in this scenario. Mostly Wandale because of the usage.
8:09And I still think there's some untapped creativity with Robinson that we're not going to get out of Carnell Tate.
8:15Carnell Tate to me feels very much tied to the play of Cam Ward.
8:20Whereas there's a little bit more flexibility perhaps with Wandale Robinson.
8:23I'm not advocating that you start him over anybody who is looking competent in week one.
8:29But I think some people are at that point already, unfortunately, with some of these injuries that we're going to talk about later.
8:36And yeah, Tony Pollard, I can again see it based on the fact that there's a lot of split backfields out there where the matchups are rough.
8:45And this isn't the worst matchup for a running back.
8:48Not great, but it's not the worst matchup, so I could see it.
8:53Yeah, I actually like the Wandale fallout. Even without sending a lot of blitzes, the Eagles do get pressure because the front four is so good.
9:01But they haven't defended the slot well. I know it was Diggs last week, but they still gave up 10 catches for
9:08117 yards and two scores to the slot. So I think not that Wandale is going to go nuts, but I do
9:16think there is an opportunity in a negative game script.
9:19They should be down the entire way. I know this is not a betting show, but I'm just kind of shocked to see this at just seven points.
9:28I have it way further than that. And I kind of train my betting model to not put out wild outcomes.
9:35We should not be IK being the very sharp NFL betting market.
9:39But if you did that, you'd never have an underdog win.
9:42That's another conversation for another day. Next one, my New Orleans Saints just fell short.
9:47Oh, they just fell short. They lost that. It was kind of a bad call on the turnover.
9:53Then at the very end, they missed a kick that could have got them to W against Detroit.
9:59So I'm not going to come off the Saints.
10:02I know the first half was a little bit kind of yucky.
10:06It happens. I think, you know, kicking a little bit of rust off the tires, that's fine.
10:12They did end up running like two games worth of plays.
10:15They ran 86 plays for almost 470 yards. Shuck looked good, at least in the second half.
10:21Olave looks really good. My guy, Devon Vele, who I was talking about as a sleeper, looks great.
10:27He ended up headlining all the mainstream waiver articles.
10:30I think you, you know, roll with the Saints because, again, it's consolidated.
10:34Facing the Ravens without Zay Flowers. Do you have a take on the wide receiver room?
10:39I think, obviously, it's wheels up for Jackson and wheels up for Henry.
10:43Those are the obvious calls. Do you have anything for us in Baltimore, even if it means maybe stay away, without Flowers?
10:50Who was, like, incredible and heading for an overall wide receiver one game last weekend?
10:55Yeah. Flowers, who obviously was dominating before his injury.
10:58And then we should just briefly mention Chris Olave, who, again, dominated in that game, but did tweak his hamstring.
11:05So it's always something to be just keeping an eye out for.
11:09At the time of this recording, we don't have anything definitive about Chris Olave.
11:13But if you have him, just make sure that you have somebody ready to go in his place.
11:19I'm not going to recommend Rashad Bateman as a replacement for either of these players if they were to miss time.
11:26But I have to point out that the coach there in Ravens' world did say that they were really trying to get Rashad Bateman the ball.
11:35And some of these plays that were designed even for Rashad Bateman, it seemed like just naturally sort of turned towards Zay Flowers.
11:42So I don't understand the appeal of Rashad Bateman.
11:45I haven't understood it for fantasy. I don't really get it for the real-world NFL.
11:50But if the coaches want to force that issue, who are we to say no?
11:55And what is, I think, a winnable matchup for him if he does get that workload?
12:00Mark Andrews, I think, is the big beneficiary here, though.
12:03Yeah, I would agree there. If you're looking for somebody.
12:07Yeah, I remember, I should have mentioned Jacoby Lane also hurt.
12:10He felt like he might have been telegraphed into that role.
12:14The appeal for Bateman would have to be the fact.
12:17He had a 93% route participation rate, earning just one catchless target.
12:21Really ugly. We might see LeJonte Wester. He ran 13 routes.
12:25He earned two targets, caught them both for 15 yards.
12:28I don't know. Could get Chris Moore. He ran seven routes, earned two targets.
12:33He had the one deep shot play. So maybe he's a pop for a desperation if you're in, like, a 38-team league.
12:40I don't know. It's got to go somewhere. I would agree with you on Andrews.
12:45I don't think we're going to see a lot more Durham-Smith.
12:48I legit have absolutely no idea. I was wondering if you, as the prospect guy, we're going to bring up Elijah Surratt.
12:56He made a little bit of noise in the preseason.
12:59Didn't kind of make the grade. To me, it's a little bit worrisome that he wasn't part of that rotation last week.
13:06Maybe a week of reps. Do you think we might see him?
13:10Would you advise people adding him, even knowing that we're not going to start him right there?
13:15There could be potential here for the next couple weeks.
13:19Who knows? Yeah, I don't mind him as a speculative waiver ad.
13:23But you nailed it when you said that a rookie coming in like that, if he doesn't look good in preseason, if
13:30he doesn't look good in training camp, if he doesn't get any real meaningful reps in week one, given the circumstances that
13:37we saw, it's pretty hard to have faith in him.
13:40So Elijah Surratt, for me, is not somebody that I'm tripping over to add from the waiver hour.
13:46In fact, there's going to be some guys that we'll talk about a little later that would take priority over him.
13:53But I don't think he's a bad ad if you have a reasonable bench, you know, a big bench to work with.
14:00But I think it's going to be pretty consolidated in general in Baltimore, which isn't the worst thing for us.
14:07Yeah, the expectations are so low for Bateman. It's hard to imagine him not exceeding them.
14:12But again, when we've seen a floor of zero, I mean, well, I guess he could score what Makai Leavitt scored.
14:19Anyway, so yeah, I think you're starting, right? You're starting your Saints that are good because it's consolidated.
14:25And you're rolling the dice on the Ravens. Yeah, big bump for Andrews, I guess.
14:30John, I've got one Sith, though. And you might disagree with me that this might be a little contrarian.
14:36But Travis Achan, to me, I saw last week his ceiling without Alvin Kamara in the mix not look the best.
14:43That's not the performance that I would have expected this workhorse lead dog to get for fantasy purposes.
14:49I'm pretty afraid for what it's actually going to look like with Kamara now back in the fold.
14:55So I am looking for any other option that I might have over Travis Achan.
15:00And that's why we mentioned earlier, like, do I want to start Tony Pollard?
15:04No. But I actually might prefer to start Tony Pollard over Achan this week.
15:09Oh, hanging my head. Oh, hanging my head. I was not big on Achan this offseason.
15:14But he did wind up in a couple teams where he fell.
15:18Right now, it looks like he didn't fall far enough.
15:21Not really a waiver show. But I'd probably be adding Kendrick Miller just because, right?
15:26When you start to see usage get challenged, that's always, you know, kind of a big deal.
15:32And Miller got 100% of the goal-to-go attempts, which if you're scraping the barrel, that would be it, right?
15:38We want those high-value touchdowns. All right, let's move on.
15:41This one should be some kind of fun. Revenge game written all over it.
15:46It's the Cleveland Browns deciding after some sort of analysis that the answer is, in fact, Deshaun Watson on the center, who
15:53just can't understand why we don't like him. Oh, man.
15:56Whether it's game tape or off the field, there's really not much to like about Watson.
16:01Tampa comes in. I'm sorry. Tampa's hosting Cleveland as an 8.5-point favorite and a minus 425 on the money line.
16:08And again, I've got this one in the double digits for a clear.
16:12Tampa looked pretty good. They did turn the ball over.
16:16It may be a little bit wonky. Baker has a habit of holding the ball like a loaf of bread sometimes.
16:22But the Cleveland defense was just horrific. They allowed almost 6.5 yards per play at a bottom three success rate with zero
16:30takeaways and almost four minutes allowed per drive as far as time and position goes.
16:35I think the big story for the Buccaneers would be Bucky Irving without Sean Tucker, who did practice, though.
16:41So maybe there's a bit of a caveat there.
16:44Bucky got all the receiving work we thought would go to Gainwell.
16:48He was really great. Looks like an RB1 and the value over HEN so far.
16:53Man, when I look at these block games, I kind of worry about the pass-catching room for Tampa.
16:58I mean, you've got to start your starters. But man, I don't really know what to make of this.
17:05I think you're starting Mayfield. I think I'm starting Ibuka and, of course, Bucky Irving.
17:10But after that, I might be getting away from it.
17:13Would you touch any Browns, maybe, is my question.
17:16Because I warned people about Quinshawn Judkins being just a two-down guy.
17:20Dylan Samson goes down. And that role did not change.
17:23Raheem Sanders might be worth an ad. I mean, that's not...
17:27It's only week two when we're talking about Raheem Sanders ads.
17:30We are down bad. It's not fair. It's not fair to us, John.
17:34But I do think if there's a Brown that I'm actually tempted to start this week while Deshaun Watson is, again, for
17:42some reason under center, it's Casey Concepcion. It's not that he had a big day in the stat sheet, but I thought
17:49they used him very creatively and more frequently than I was expecting in his first game.
17:54I liked him a lot this offseason. I can't wait for him to get any more of a competent quarterback.
18:01I know that they don't have many on that roster that would exceed the very low bar that Watson has set.
18:07But I think Casey Concepcion over the course of this season is really going to be surprising people.
18:13So, you know, maybe if you want to send out a trade offer to the manager that has Concepcion, I wouldn't be mad about it.
18:22Harold Fannin Jr., it feels like out of desperation, you still kind of have to trot him out there and just hope
18:29that week one was an aberration based on where you drafted him.
18:33So I don't feel confident about it, John, but I do think that Fannin probably deserves to be in most lineups.
18:40You're probably right. Tight end is kind of a wasteland at the back end, though that also feels like another poll that I got right.
18:48At least initially, it's not over yet, that there might have been a little bit too much redundancy with Concepcion and Fannin
18:55as far as the route tree goes with poor quarterback play to get them both home.
19:00One little bit of light for Concepcion. I think he's a perfect buy low candidate.
19:05Again, you're right. It wasn't like a breakout game, but it was limited work.
19:10So for having only run 20 routes to go 4-43-0, that's 25% target per route, almost two and a quarter yards per route run.
19:18Those are extremely strong as the workload goes. So could the volume.
19:21And then in parentheses, perhaps the efficiency as well.
19:24So he's definitely a player that should be added.
19:27I think he's a buy low. Did you have a quick take before we take our first break on the Buccaneers?
19:34We want the team that we think is going to crush, but I'm not really sure.
19:39It didn't come across as very clear to me.
19:42Egbuka, Godwin, Otten, and Ted Hurst all ran at least 30 routes, all earned at least three targets, but no one went over six.
19:50So really very much a split. Would you just go with your ADP kind of slash projections here?
19:56Yeah. I mean, first of all, I do think Baker Mayfield is a worthwhile start, not just because of the revenge game
20:03narrative, but a little bit because of the revenge game.
20:07But also because this Browns defense does not look nearly as threatening without Miles Garrett.
20:12I mean, this is, it's like Leatherface without the chainsaw.
20:15Like, yeah, I don't want to sit down to brunch with the guy, but I'm not running away quite as fast either.
20:22So I'm going to start Baker Mayfield. And I am personally still on board with Emeka Egbuka because he looked better than
20:29I thought he would in week one, given the toe injury stuff.
20:33Like, that was what kept me away from him a little bit in recent drafts, which I now regret.
20:39But I just didn't see limitations from him outside of kind of the offensive construct overall.
20:45But I think Mecca Egbuka is sort of the default de facto wide receiver one.
20:50I'd be okay with Chris Godwin. If you just want somebody to get you that comfortable 10 fantasy points that you crave
20:57in a PPR format, I think he's also fine.
21:00Yeah, that's all really fair. I think the Hurst thing might be an unforeseen pain in the butt.
21:06He also maybe should be added and stashed away if you don't really need to start him here.
21:11All right, that's our first little bit, Jake. That was awesome.
21:15When we get back, the color of the day will be green as it's Jake versus John.
21:21Packers versus Jets next on Fantasy Football Weekly. Fantasy football players love to tell ourselves we're being rational.
21:27We're looking at the data. We're studying the matchup.
21:29We've got to process. And then Sunday starts. I'm not checking my lineup every five minutes.
21:35Of course you are. Suddenly you're watching a backup tight end you barely thought about all week because you need 12 more yards.
21:42Now you know exactly how many targets he has.
21:45You know how many routes he's run. You know where the next red zone possession needs to go.
21:51And when he finally catches the ball, that might be the most important eight-yard gain of your entire afternoon.
21:57That's fantasy football. Every target, every carry, every yard.

24:40Week 2 Breakdown with John and Jake. Again, green is the color of the day.
24:45The J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets, Jets, will be hosting the Green Bay Packers, who got J-O-B jobbed by the Zebras.
24:52Jake, I told you, I'm very honest about this stuff.
24:55I hate to blame referees. I was watching this game, and I'm not just bitter because it was a super contest pick of mine.
25:03I was doing my rewatch, I should say. I was into the like, deep into the third, almost the fourth, and wondering,
25:10when did the Packers lose this game? It all happened on one drive.
25:14I mean, just massively bad calls that totally swung the entire game, including a pick in the end zone that came back.
25:22Just terrible stuff, although off-air you did mention how the Packers took points off the board, and this is probably a good lead-in into the game.
25:30The reason I wouldn't have done that is because I don't know if the Packers have an answer in those short yardage situations.
25:38Packers, three-and-a-half favorites, point favorites on the road against my Jets at MetLife.
25:42I kind of knew the Jets would beat the Titans.
25:45But as a Jet fan and living on this plane of reality, I don't think they're that good.
25:51I still think the Packers are a better team.
25:54Worried a little bit about the defensive front seven, and maybe worried a little bit about the run game.
26:00But boy, oh boy, the Packers' pass game, when they're not getting heated up by Brian Flores, I don't know if the
26:07Jets could bring that kind of pressure. We should slice and dice the Jets' secondary.
26:12I'm ready for a lot of scoring here. I don't know about you.
26:17I was surprised when I saw the total at 44-and-a-half.
26:20I think we could get some fireworks. How do you like green-on-green violence this weekend, Jay?
26:25I mean, first of all, I'm glad that you're the one who pointed out the things about the refs.
26:31Because that would be uncool for me to do it as a Packers fan.
26:36So I appreciate that. But when I look at what we saw, the positive stuff from last week's game with Green Bay,
26:43it starts with the coach actually, for real, letting Jordan Love do his thing for once.
26:48And that's mostly due to circumstances because of the situation with the backfield.
26:53But we've been hyping and harping on that all offseason long.
26:56Jordan Love is going to pass a lot. He cooked a very, very excellent Vikings defense, at least in the second half
27:03of that game, for almost 400 yards and a couple of touchdowns.
27:07Now, the Jets' defense did look better than I expected them to, for sure, John.
27:12But I think that Love is going to make plenty of hay here.
27:16And it starts with Christian Watson. He obviously got all of the positive headlines coming out of that game.
27:23There's always the concern that it's going to be a little bit boom or bust.
27:28You know, they might really try to clamp down on him and say, what else do you got?
27:34But the good news is that they also got Matthew Golden, who actually out-targeted Christian Watson in that game.
27:40He obviously has a lower ceiling than Watson does.
27:43But Golden was, I would say, the guy that Love looked to most frequently during times of great distress, you know, which
27:50was a lot of the second half. And that kind of rapport just didn't really exist last year between Love and Golden.
27:57So if you look at the last two games, including the playoff loss to the Bears last year, Golden has 10 catches
28:04for 179 yards and a touchdown in his last two games.
28:08He is coming on as the true wide receiver, too.
28:11So I like Watson. I like Golden. I'm still very okay starting Tucker Kraft, who looked good, despite being on a pretty obvious pitch count, as predicted.
28:20But, you know, three catches for 65 yards, that'll do for your first week back to the NFL.
28:26Yeah, especially with all the trimmings that we love about Kraft.
28:2927% target per out, almost three yards per out.
28:32Like, yes, please. He's, you know, yards after the catch per reception north of six, which for a regular human would be great.
28:40For Tucker Kraft, does that like a half a step back?
28:44So, yeah, he should be fine as he's getting work back into it.
28:48Green Bay, pretty consolidated, right? Not something we've been saying about that pass catching room.
28:53Golden was just, he was awesome. He looks like a correct answer already.
28:57And if they're efficient at all, they could really take off.
29:01Watson looked incredible. He's like the best player on the field.
29:04With the ball in his hands, he looks like at least a step faster than everybody else.
29:10And even Jaden Reed, I think, in certain matchups, he earned seven targets.
29:14It was a little bit of a low output.
29:17You know, he's probably more of just a flex type of player.
29:21But, you know, Green Bay looking strong. What do you think about the running back room?
29:26That was probably a little deflating, depending where you invested in it.
29:30If you were one of the people getting more Sean Lloyd after pick 200, I think you get what you get and you don't get upset.
29:39But had you chased that draft helium up into like the sixth round, you might be a little bit upset about, you
29:46know, 13 rushes for 37 yards at below three yards per attempt.
29:50Do you think maybe jitters, rookie stuff? Do you think it gets better?
29:54I don't know. You know, you were watching with a little bit more of a closer eye than I was at points.
30:01I was, came away a little bit worried about the run game.
30:05Now, that might be great. Maybe you get more John Smith, more Tucker Craft as an extension of the run game that was failed.
30:13But I think you're going to have to do a little bit of it.
30:18Do you think that happens on Sunday? Yeah, I wasn't impressed by any means by the backfield.
30:23Part of that could have just been the offensive game plan because of the Brian Flores defense.
30:29And like, we know we're going to have to hit some strikes to be able to keep pace and not rely on that run game.
30:37Chris Brooks looked a little bit more efficient than Marshawn Lloyd does.
30:41That could just be a part of him being a part of this offense for longer.
30:46One thing I do want to point out, though, I'm not saying to pull the ripcord on Marshawn Lloyd just yet.
30:53But I am adding Caleb Johnson off my waiver if I am desperate for running back health.
30:58And I have the bench space to do so because he's somebody that they traded for from Pittsburgh who fits this outside zone running scheme very well.
31:07It wouldn't shock me at all if they dabble with him a little bit this week.
31:13And if he looks good, that's somebody that you can beat the rest of your league to to waivers.
31:19And and we'll just see how that turns out.
31:22That is a wonderful, wonderful pullout. You want to be, you know, one week early rather than one day late on those
31:29guys, because if Johnson gets a look and looks explosive at all.
31:33And I like Marshawn Lloyd and I hope he gets a I hope he stays healthy.
31:38I hope he has a great season. You know, I hope he's fantasy viable.
31:43But realistically, right now, that backfield is extremely vulnerable.
31:46And if they believe they have an answer, I think that they'll go after you're right about Brooks looking more efficient.
31:52And I think that's the thing we should all be looking for is that workload.
31:57If Lloyd still vastly out touches him, then we know where the confidence is.
32:02If Brooks even is at equal footing, then I think you have to pull the cord on Lloyd.
32:08And we're looking for something else for Green Bay as far as the Jets.
32:12It's pretty clean. The one ad I'm recommending that maybe is just not a start yet would be Kenyon Sadiq.
32:19We talked about that type of draft capital being available so late, maybe a little bit unusual.
32:25If you look, if you happen to read my manifesto or whatever we're calling it, the bliss this weekend, one stat that
32:32did stick out with Sadiq was 17 players. And this is both sides of the ball, Jake, achieved a 20 mile an hour foot speed.
32:40And not only was Sadiq one of them and the only tight end, he did it on a three yard run.
32:47So the amount of burst in a small space cannot be understated.
32:51He is an absolute physical freak. I mean, I had no idea I'm not a prospector.
32:56I saw it and instantly kind of believed my eyes.
32:59So people you want to be aware of Sadiq, also 25% target per route, 1.3, so 1.75 yards per route.
33:06Those are the numbers that we're looking for to buy into with lower volume.
33:10Again, like before, if we're going to up the volume, hopefully you up the production.
33:15And with it may become some efficiency. So I like that.
33:19Yeah, pretty good call. This one should be kind of played between the lines as far as fantasy assets go.
33:25I think everybody could get home. Next one, a little bit exciting and a bit of change.
33:31We are two teams kind of heading in different directions and they're both might be the wrong direction.
33:37Steelers do get the win against the Falcons. They're five and a half point underdogs on the road against the New England Patriots.
33:44That was ugly. Maybe the worst game we've seen from Drake May.
33:48Mondray got all the work but didn't look great doing it.
33:52Trevion should be back. And I think everyone that drafted him is thrilled.
33:56Because if he's healthy, he could step right into a featured role there without A.J.
34:01Brown. I'm trying to tell people to hold their nose and believe in Romeo Dubs.
34:06I don't want to throw away. You know, what I thought was a good profile coming in without the main pass catcher in the way.
34:14Also, last note I had was, as a fantasy community, we just don't like Matt Collins.
34:19Apparently, we like guys that show up to work in shoes.
34:23But Collins had a 20% target for out. He was over two yards per outrun.
34:28Earned five targets on 25 routes. And, you know, he was relied upon pass catcher.
34:33May went to him in critical spots. I don't think he's great.
34:37But he could get the job done. Someone's got to pass the ball against a tough Pittsburgh defense.
34:43They threw the ball a lot, the Steelers. But they still move very, very slow.
34:48Pittman had showed up on the injury report, by the way.
34:51It's uncertain. So talk to us about Patriots and Steelers that I thought we'd have a lot more confidence in the Patriots coming in.
34:59But now I don't know if I do. Yeah.
35:02I mean, first of all, can't trust a bare foot.
35:05I think that's just, that's a tale as old as time.
35:09Yeah. So Matt Collins, it's just, he's never going to be a thing for us.
35:14Also, it's very nice that we get to reminisce over a former starting quarterback for both of our teams during this segment.
35:21That's really sweet. John, we get to talk about Aaron Rodgers.
35:25I was there. I was there for those three plays before he got hurt.
35:29I was there. Well, we can both feel confident, I assume, sitting Aaron Rodgers and not thinking twice about it.
35:36With Drake May, this isn't the bounce back defense that you would pick out of a lineup for him.
35:42But I still think, even with A.J. Brown obviously out, the expectation and the emphasis is Vrabel having him getting the ball
35:49out of his hands fast, probably mostly to his tight ends and running backs.
35:54So you mentioned Travion Henderson. I'm not so confident as to say Travion Henderson must be in your lineup this week because
36:01I do think it was just, it was an overall offensive failure.
36:05It wasn't just on Ramondre Stevenson. So I think the trust level is still there more with Ramondre.
36:11I would rather start him over Henderson. But Hunter Henry is the guy I really want to call out, John, because I
36:18think he is the true wide receiver for New England right now in the absence of A.J.
36:24Brown. He's been the security blanket for Drake May in years past.
36:27He's looked fairly solid doing it and certainly looks comfortable catching those passes from him in the red zone.
36:34And that's a lot of what we love. So I'm all in on Hunter Henry this week.
36:39Yeah, I love that call. I think that probably is the right answer.
36:43Pittsburgh failed to create any kind of meaningful pressure last week.
36:47Now it's one thing against Cooper Rush. They only set the blitz on three and a half percent of plays.
36:54Maybe that would be different with May. If May is allowed the time to operate, I think New England will come back.
37:01All right, that was another really good segment. We'll be back in just a minute.
37:06We've got another three-pack coming up. Looks like Bengals-Texans, Panthers-Falcons, and Vikings-Bears win.
37:10We return on Fantasy Football Weekly with Jake and John.
37:13You know what happens the second you make your picks on Underdog?
37:17All that football knowledge you've spent the week collecting suddenly matters even more.
37:21Before kickoff, maybe you're relaxed. Then your picks lock.
37:24Now you're checking everything. What's the weather? Who's active?
37:27Who's getting the red zone work? Why does this guy only have two targets?
37:32Now you're three feet from the television yelling, Get him the ball!
37:36Because once you've made your picks, every target, every carry, and every yard suddenly matters.
37:41And for fantasy football people, we already live for this stuff.
37:44That's what makes Underdog such a natural fit. Download Underdog to play Keep Your Million.
37:49Start with a million dollars, make it through all 20 picks, and walk away with whatever's left in bonus funds.
37:56You spend all week thinking you know how these games are going to play out.

40:00All right, we're back off a well-deserved break. Three more before we head into the half and get the marching band out here.
40:08It's Bengals and Texans should be really exciting. Again, if I were to tell you, Jake, one of these offenses was really great and one was really bad.
40:17You'd say, yeah, obviously, but we would have the wrong one.
40:21Bengals offense was not really too impressive, and the Houston Texans ran 73 plays for over 380 yards.
40:26I tend to think nature will correct in this one, not to oversimplify.
40:31Bengals, by the way, are underdogs on the road, so anytime we're going to put the Bengals in a negative game script,
40:38you like to think, again, the equilibrium is achieved and Jamar Chase gets back into the saddle.
40:43Bengals are pretty clean across the board. You're starting who you start.
40:47I'd like to take on Gesicki. I think that was more of a game script-dependent thing.
40:53I really wouldn't be chasing that. And as far as Houston, we want you to take Montgomery is obviously a smash.
40:59He looks like a correct answer in that RB.
41:02Dead zone, Nico Collins is going to be out playing.
41:06Somebody played the trombone sound. Of course, Nico Collins is going to be out after a really good game.
41:12So we're going to need a thought or two on the Houston pass-catching rule, which I'm going to be honest, Jake, I was just going to pray.
41:21That was my hope that Nico would play. After that, I don't know, could get a booty call, maybe lots of, I've been putting in parentheses, Xavier Hutchinson.
41:30Talk to us about Bengals and Texans and why the Texans are favored in this one.
41:35Yeah, first of all, Jamar Chase, don't do that to us again.
41:39Just don't be that guy. I don't know. It's going to be a tough situation, though, even for Joe Burrow with the
41:46tight back situation that he has this week. You know, I think last week, I just want to point out, there was
41:53a good reminder that Burrow's not in the same category of fantasy quarterback or real-life quarterback as Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson.
42:01He's closer in spirit to like a Matt Stafford, and we need to remember that for week-to-week purposes.
42:07With that said, Houston, it looks like, is going to be maybe down to Jadavian Clowney.
42:12That would be huge for Joe Burrow and just giving him some level of comfort to get the ball to Jamar Chase and get the ball to T.
42:21Higgins. The guy that we don't have to worry about, at least for the Bengals, though, John, is Chase Brown.
42:28We got a workhorse alert, 20 touches, better game script probably in general this season with the improved defense that the Bengals have.
42:35So that's the Bengals. Yes, I agree. Gusecki, probably a game script thing.
42:39I'm not counting on him this week. Now the Texans.
42:43I have to say, CJ Stroud, though he did plenty of nice things in week one, I would say slot him into
42:50your lineup if he had Nico Collins. He doesn't have Nico Collins.
42:54I'm not trotting CJ Stroud out there without Collins.
42:57As far as who to trust, I mean, I'm comfortable with Dalton Schultz because he's again shown up kind of like Hunter
43:04Henry to be a reliable safety blanket for the quarterback.
43:07I'm comfortable with both running backs. David Montgomery actually caught more passes, was targeted more than Woody Barks, who is a very good pass catcher.
43:15At least he was in college. But I think both of those guys are going to be relied on pretty heavily in pretty creative ways.
43:24But it's the rest of the crew that I don't want anything to do with.
43:28I'm not in on Kayshawn Booty personally for this week.
43:32You might be desperate enough to put him in your flex.
43:35That's fine. But otherwise, I'm going with the running backs.
43:39Yeah, I'm with you. The main thing I took away from the Bengals game last week was the defense might be legitimately good.
43:46If that's the case, twofold. One, real life football, they are a Super Bowl contender.
43:51And two, for fantasy, it's really bad. That we've gotten so used to the circus and carnival games that Cincinnati gets attached to.
43:59They could be more of a, you know, slower-paced, positive game-script team.
44:02The defense was excellent. Texas defense was not excellent.
44:05I do think they will correct course. Again, my takeaway is just, this total is entirely too high, 46.5.
44:12I'm not expecting much. Are you going to start your Bengals?
44:15Of course, I would avoid the Houston Texans. I think there's a chance they look completely flat in this one.
44:22I'm benching everyone except for David Montgomery and I think also Dalton Schultz.
44:26I think that's, you know, for the relative tight end landscape, that's only fair.
44:31All right, next one. This one should be pretty fast.
44:34NFC South Carolina Panthers, who looked pretty good, I guess.
44:37I'm a non-believer. On the road in the dirty, dirty to face the dirty birdies, the Atlanta Falcons, two-and-a-half-point underdogs.
44:44At home, we get the news today. We're going to get another dose of Cooper Rush.
44:49Apparently, Michael Panix is healthy enough to play. Maybe not prepared.
44:53I don't know if they're BSing us. I really, I just don't know.
44:57But we do know we're going to get Cooper Rush again.
45:00And that was really, really rough. Going to be very hard to start.
45:05Anybody, I'm hoping you have a take on Drake London.
45:08I've been getting a lot of questions about it.
45:11Obviously, you can go to Bijon Robinson, who's, I can't even remember a running back having kind of dominated the target share in that way.
45:19Bijon Robinson commanded 52-and-a-half percent of the team targets.
45:22It's just as much fun as it is for fantasy gamers, as much fun as it is.
45:28It's not sustainable. So you're starting Bijon. Are we starting Drake London is my question because I have my worries.
45:34And as far as Carolina, I'm pulling the plug before it's too late.
45:38I got to give some people some hope. So nobody wanted to see the Cooper Rush experience part two, myself included.
45:45But I have to harken back to there was a time when Cooper Rush was able to support not just one, but 200-plus yard receivers.
45:53You have to go way back, way, way back to his time in Dallas with both Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb.
46:00But then he could also keep Lamb adequately fed for the few starts that he had the year after that.
46:07Lamb got a couple of hundred-plus yard games even in 2024 with Cooper Rush throwing him the ball.
46:13London could have a respectable outing even with the circumstances.
46:16Should be pointed out Rush was dealing with some of his own injury stuff like right before that game, and maybe he's
46:23feeling a little bit better this time around. I understand the hesitation with London, but I don't feel comfortable enough to say,
46:30I'm going to sit this guy who could still pop off.
46:34You know, it's kind of the same with Ted Arroa McMillan on the other side.
46:39It's not like McMillan had a great day. He had a better day than London, obviously.
46:44But, you know, you're going to have to experience this with these guys who are near elite wide receivers.
46:50Like, these aren't the top of the heap. These aren't the Pukas.
46:54These aren't the JSNs. But they're very, very good, and I don't want you to rush to sit them because of these circumstances.
47:02Yeah, especially we're hoping with the week of practice they'll create some high probability throws from underneath or maybe we get like
47:09a PPR scam because the underpinning stuff for Rush is legit some of the worst I've ever seen.
47:15I don't know the number off the top of my head, but his EPA for drop back is so bad we're bordering
47:22on they'd be better off if he just took a knee.
47:26And that's a joke, but it's almost true, and that's not funny.
47:30As far as jokes go, it's not funny. A friend of mine over at The Athletic used this stat, which I like.
47:37He calls it splint sacks plus interception rate. Now, granted, we shouldn't be weighing sacks as heavily as interceptions, interceptions obviously being a turnover.
47:45But if you do any of the math on sacks, they are absolute drive killers.
47:50Cooper Rush, his splint rate, well, by the way, if it's in the double digits is really bad.
47:56It was at 23%, so nearly one of every four drop backs resulted in either a sack or an interception.
48:02If you have any better options, I think you should definitely take it.
48:06All right, we got one more game before we break one more time.
48:11This one should be really interesting. Again, man, maybe it's at the beginning of the year thing.
48:16I'm just not buying everything that we saw thing.
48:19Vikings on the road is four and a half point underdogs.
48:23Again, Chicago, we mentioned I really think the Vikings were not nearly as good as the output show last week, as the standings are showing this week.
48:32I'm really not buying it. Bears, the offense was great.
48:35Is the defense as bad as that was? There's a 48 and a half point total, which is really heavy for a team.
48:42One, with the defense that Minnesota has, and two, with a quarterback like Carson Wentz.
48:47It's 48 and a half is really, really high.
48:50But like I said, the Bears just allowed nearly 500 yards at 7.7 yards to play.
48:55Again, just one small sample. Let me pour one out for my Colston Loveland shares, which, again, the usage was there, and I'm sure he'll be fine.
49:04Hard not to be bitter at the production when you see a half a million points being scored, and Loveland walks away with a goose egg.
49:13While we were hoping that would be, you know, the Kalief Raymond stuff, we hoped would go to Loveland or Burden or Split.
49:20Guess what? We got neither. There's that trombone sound again.
49:24What do you make about Chicago and Minnesota? Again, for me, this feels like it's going to be more hard-fought and lower
49:31scoring than the books would have us suggest. See, I was actually sitting over here thinking that the books kind of have
49:38this right, and it's only because I expect the Bears to continue to be so bad defensively that it is going to
49:45lead by default to a situation that's going to be high-scoring because also Carson Wentz deserves a little modicum of respect, at
49:52least for what he does for his fantasy pass catchers.
49:56Like, whatever you think about him for real-life NFL, that's one thing.
50:00But Justin Jefferson, welcome back, my man. That was a nice little reminder for the doubters that Jefferson is an elite wide
50:07receiver so long as he has a half-competent QB throwing in the ball.
50:11So we should point out, it looks like Jennings not going to be out there.
50:16So Jordan Addison, even to me, becomes a little bit intriguing as a flex play.
50:21We know that he can pop off for some big plays.
50:24Both he and Jefferson with Wentz last year, there were games where they were both very fruitful.
50:30You know, the Colson Loveland thing, I would love to give you plenty of hope or confirmation that he's going to be great again.
50:38I don't know what that was last week. I have no clue.
50:42I don't know if Caleb Williams owes Khalif Raymond some money and they decided to settle their debt via receptions and pass attempts.
50:49I don't know what it was. But I do think that he can continue getting Luther Burden the ball.
50:56And I think Colson Loveland is going to have to factor in to this game because it can't all be the run stuff.
51:03They were able to run so much last week.
51:06You're not going to be able to do that against the Vikings either.
51:10Yeah, agreed. Really quick before we break, lightning answer on this one.
51:14Jordan Mason, I think he tore a ligament in his thumb.
51:18Either way, it's short-term IR. He's out. Aaron Jones is absolutely going to get the vast majority of carries.
51:24We've seen where that goes. We don't necessarily want Jones to get 20-something carries.
51:29Can you speculate on the Vikings' backfield at all?
51:32DJ Dallas got elevated. Could we see DeMond Claiborne?
51:35I've been telling people, to me, he's in that vein of, well, now I'd probably put him above Caleb Johnson with Mason out.
51:42But he was on that short list of guys that maybe could make an impact on a decent team.
51:48Is that where you'd go? Yeah, Aaron Jones, I have a tough time thinking Minnesota gives the AARP card-wielding Jones a hefty workload.
51:56But again, the defense is so bad that I would put him out there.
52:00But the guy I want to pick up off of waivers right now is DeMond Claiborne.
52:06He's gotten some hype this offseason. There are some comps out there to Devon Achan.
52:11I don't know that I believe them, but I do think that Claiborne is the one that's worth stashing in advance just in case he pops off.
52:19Excellent job. That's exactly what I was hoping you'd say.
52:23All right. That was the whistle for halftime. We'll be back in just a minute with a couple of AFC matchups.
52:30We got Raiders at Chargers, Jaguars at Broncos. Should be a good one.
52:34We'll be right back on FFW with John and James.
52:37Fantasy football players love to tell ourselves we're being rational.
52:40We're looking at the data. We're studying the matchup.
52:43We've got a process. And then Sunday starts. I'm not checking my lineup every five minutes.
52:49Of course you are. Suddenly you're watching a backup tight end you barely thought about all week because you need 12 more yards.
52:56Now you know exactly how many targets he has.
52:59You know how many routes he's run. You know where the next red zone possession needs to go.
53:05And when he finally catches the ball, that might be the most important eight-yard gain of your entire afternoon.
53:11That's fantasy football. Every target, every carry, every yard.

55:21All right, that's the Marky Band heading off the field, getting ready to kick off the second half Fantasy Football Weekly Week 2 edition with John and Jake.
55:31All right, let's hop over to the West Coast really quick, Mr.
55:35Jake. Again, another set of surprises here. Raiders and Chargers.
55:38Raiders on the road at six and a half point.
55:41Underdogs, 43 and a half point. Kind of a low total in L.A.
55:45to face the Chargers. One of these teams was really good, and one was really bad.
55:51Oh, duh. But again, wrong about which one. Not sure if the Raiders are good.
55:55Reminds me of the Jets a little bit. They played well in a very soft matchup.
56:01I think nature will correct. And the Chargers, well, I didn't pick them in Survivor because I was worried it was a little bit of bad chalk.
56:10I didn't think they would actually lose. They did just that and didn't look good doing it.
56:15Chargers put up just 4.3 yards a play. We thought, right, was going to be this ascendant offense with all types of fireworks.
56:23A great run game. Went for 3.5 yards per rush.
56:26And even the, you know, line that we thought would be really good allowed 13 hurries and two sacks.
56:32Chargers, a bit worrisome. Lad McConkie, sounds like he's going to play.
56:36He got banged up. He was on the way to a tremendous game.
56:40So I think, you know, you're starting Herbert. I still think you go back to Hampton.
56:46I was never really into Mitchell or Vidal for the volume.
56:49I'd probably go back to QJ thinking maybe the Raiders defense, the pendulum swings back and maybe they get exposed.
56:56The tight end room for the Chargers also was a pretty large point of consternation in the offseason.
57:02Right, Gadsden was the guy. He was the name after last year.
57:06But then they bring in Njoku. And he actually goes, catches five of five for 58.
57:11I think you can add him as a back end tight end one right now.
57:16But other than that, it's a little bit hairy.
57:19I had Trey Harris pop on my utilization stuff because he ran 27 routes and functioned out of the slot after McConkie left.
57:26But I think the standalone value with McConkie in the lineup might be a little bit low.
57:32So the Chargers, even though I do have them in line for a bit of a bounce back shake, I'm not really too excited.
57:40And for me, the Raiders, it's a two-man show.
57:43It's Gentie. It's Meyer. Small pie again. Maybe if they end up in a negative game script, they open it up and
57:50they get the Tucker game that I was so desperately hoping for that didn't come.
57:55Jack Besch operating out of the slot. He's like a desperation flexo.
57:59So this one a little bit uglier than we thought it might be coming in.
58:03What do you make of Chargers and Raiders? Did I miss anything?
58:07Is there anybody you like, I don't, or vice versa?
58:11John, the list of sits that I have for this game is so long.
58:15It's so much longer than it has any reason to be based on all the offseason stuff.
58:21But I just have to ask the question, does Mike McDaniel actually have the juice?
58:26I don't know that he does. All this creativity and efficiency that he was supposed to bring to this offense.
58:32I was writing about this before week one was like, look for warning signs that Mike McDaniel is not who you think he's supposed to be.
58:41And I think that that unfortunately played out. So I have Justin Herbert technically as a start.
58:46I don't feel good about it. I really don't, even in what should be a bounce back matchup here against the Raiders.
58:54It still just feels like, will he outperform even what Malik Willis did against the Raiders last week?
58:59I don't know that he will. So it'll get you a fine fantasy day.
59:04But Omari and Hampton, I'm also starting pretty begrudgingly.
59:07Because yes, he definitely got more volume or the split in the backfield wasn't quite as nasty as maybe it was hyped
59:14up to be, including by the coaches. But I still don't feel great about what the efficiency is going to look like
59:21because it comes down to this really bad offensive line, John.
59:25And I just don't know that I want to start anybody for real until they sort of prove themselves.
59:31So Ladd McConkie, the injury stuff is just obviously the worst.
59:35So many injuries in week one, and that's not one that we wanted to see either.
59:40I don't really particularly want to start QJ. But if you have to start Quentin Johnson out of desperation in your flex, that's fine.
59:48Ashton Gentry, absolutely. Michael Mayer, absolutely. I would throw Mike Washington into the mix because Mike Washington looked very explosive, which is all we wanted out of him.
59:57We knew he wasn't going to get a bunch of touches, but at least if he can show that explosivity.
60:04And the Chargers defense didn't look unbeatable, you know?
60:07So fire up both of those guys, in my opinion.
60:10Yeah, I was a little bit surprised. The Raiders defense created so much pressure without sending the blitz, and everyone is just hand-waving Miami.
60:18I didn't think they were going to be good.
60:21I thought the defense was atrocious. I thought the offense would be a bit more representative.
60:26I thought they would funnel the ball more to A-Chan.
60:29I thought the offensive line—I'm not an offensive line guru.
60:32The consensus ranks were not terrible. And the flip side, the Chargers, we thought they would be great at protection, and they weren't.
60:40So that's where my focus is going to be.
60:43If the Raiders do this again, they may give the Chargers a problem.
60:47And man, we could be talking about a Raiders team that is, you know, one of those kind of sneaky dogs, which
60:54would be great for a guy like Gentry, who he commanded so much of the toucher, it doesn't matter.
61:01And that was my point on Hampton also. I'm glad that you mentioned it.
61:05It is begrudgingly, but you have to start Hampton because he had 75% of the RB backfield share.
61:11But that said, again, the sit list is long.
61:14I love how you put that. I've been doing that also on my—that write-up, the game-by-game write-up.
61:20Just a brief. Guys I'm starting, guys I'm sitting, and I put like a sleeper.
61:24It might not be a name you never heard of, but a guy that maybe is lesser known to break out.
61:31This one had one of the longer sit lists.
61:34Yeah, I think I'm with you. Maybe I like the defenses more.
61:38I think the Chargers defense will also bounce back.
61:41So this game decidedly uglier than maybe we thought.
61:44All right, let's move it on. A team that wasn't ugly at all, Jacksonville Jaguars.
61:49They're on the road, two-and-a-half-point underdogs against the Broncos, who got boat raced by the Chiefs.
61:54Goes to show you what Vegas, the books, public, and the sharp minds think about.
61:59The pendulum swinging in the NFL. Oh, man. I thought this would be closer to a pick-em.
62:05Forty-five-and-a-half points on the board tells me books don't really know what to make of it.
62:10Jacksonville looked excellent on offense. That is besides Basial Tootin, who did put together a couple of nice runs.
62:16He earned the praise of Liam Cohen after the fact.
62:19But the share, you know, back there was a little hard to ignore.
62:24Amir Abdullah. Getting touches in. You're right. Whenever there's a third.
62:27Right? Why? Yeah. Whenever there's a third mouth to feed, that's, you know, that's going to be an issue.
62:34So that limited Tootin, particularly in the pass game.
62:36Now, Abdullah only got one. But if he's out there, you know, again, stealing routes, stealing targets and catches, that's going to shave off the top of Tootin.
62:46I think, again, you have to start him because the situation is going to be a little bit different.
62:52I was just shocked that, you know, when you have a heavy favorite and they kind of win in a blowout, you
62:59expect that your running back did something. And he really didn't do much of anything.
63:04Parker Washington looked great. Brian Thomas looked really good before the injury.
63:08I think he'll be fine. Other than that, that's probably where I'm drawing the line.
63:13You got to start Trevor Lawrence, of course. And for Denver, I'm starting Waddle.
63:17But boy, am I worried. Pat Bryant actually looked like the standout there.
63:22I'm also very worried about both of the runners.
63:25They were bad in pass protection. Jonah Coleman didn't see the ball.
63:29He could because he's supposed to be very good in pass pro.
63:32If they think that's an issue, he would be that third mouth defeat and could kind of nix the whole Denver backfield.
63:40I'm not like banning the panic button on the Broncos in general.
63:44But for fantasy, it's not nearly as clean as I hoped.
63:47And I'm definitely worried about starting anybody for Denver.
63:50Yeah, it looked kind of disheveled even coming into it just because there were so many guys on the depth chart.
63:57And I know people wrote off Pat Bryant, but I was very excited to see Pat get his due attention in week one.
64:05The thing is, Bo Nix or Boo Nix. Am I right?
64:08Yeah, am I right? Absolutely nothing went right or looked good for Bo Nix.
64:13And we knew how much of his fantasy success last year came from the scrambling ability and the absurd number of pass attempts, 612 or something like that.
64:22Without either of those things, at least showing up in week one, Bo Nix is incredibly hard to trust.
64:28As is Jalen Waddell still to me. I know you said that you kind of got to start Waddell.
64:34And we just rattled off a list throughout the show of wide receivers that are dinged up or even ruled out.
64:41And so I understand starting Jalen Waddell. I do want to point out Courtland Sutton at least played the most snaps, ran
64:48the most routes, and had the most air yards of the group.
64:52So I'm actually okay. Not okay. But I'm forcing myself to be okay starting Courtland Sutton in these situations.
64:59The one guy I'm not starting, I refuse, along with Bo Nix, is J.K.
65:03Dobbins. Last week's game against the Chiefs really just emphasized why I drafted zero Dobbins.
65:08Because even when he's actually healthy, he has almost no upside without a touchdown.
65:13He got eight rushing attempts, zero targets, 36 total yards.
65:16If he doesn't score you a touchdown, you're just going to be sad you started Dobbins most of the time.
65:22He's like Chris Rodriguez, but he just has more flair because of his name value.
65:27So I'm out on Dobbins personally. I'm glad you called attention to Parker Washington, the truest wide receiver one for the Jags at least.
65:35I'm okay with him. And Bachel Tootin, yeah, it is gross, John, but at least the Broncos just got chewed up and
65:42spit out by Kenneth Walker last week. Tootin is not Kenneth Walker, obviously, but it provides a path to respectable fantasy value.
65:50Yeah, Jacksonville Pro 7 was heating him up. If they do the same thing against Denver, Broncos could and should struggle again.
65:57Jake, I love you, and I would never accuse you of a misframe, but I do think this deserves a little bit of attention.
66:05That air yard lead, right? I'm doing air quotes for the audio people.
66:09That was a whopping 32 yards. Now, not to say that this is a Sutton problem.
66:14The issue was the underpinning statistics for Bo Nix.
66:17I know it's one game, and I know the Chiefs are very difficult.
66:21Again, I think they're going to be involved in all sorts of unders the entire year.
66:27This is completely unsustainable. Bo Nix had an air yard per attempt at ADOT, right, under 4, and just one-fifth of his
66:34passes made it to the first down marker, and he had a 15% splint.
66:38So, yeah, we want to credit Kansas City with some of that, but the Jacksonville front seven is not going to afford him much quarter.
66:47So, man, fantasy's getting ugly. It's getting ugly fast, you know?
66:50It really is. You always got to make my stats look so much worse slash realistic.
66:55Why you got to do that with all your facts, John?
66:59Me and my Wattel. Me and my Wattel. Good grief.
67:02I really have gotten insta-old and become a fantasy pessimist.
67:06You know what ended up? I'm not going to go too far into the weeds.
67:10When you start to do your own projections, that's when it happens.
67:14You want to give everybody 300 yards and everybody 95 yards this evening, and when you start to tie these things to
67:22reality, you know, passing your own expectations on sportsbook prop lines and stuff, and then you make all the math work out,
67:29you realize it's not quite as, like, juicy as maybe we want it to be.
67:34All right, let's squeeze one more in here. This one, again, might be more of a dogfight than we want to admit.
67:41Washington Commanders on the road in Dallas as four-and-a-half-point underdogs.
67:44Book not buying that part about the low scoring.
67:47This one, one of the highest scoring, if not the highest total on the board at 50-and-a-half.
67:53I know the FO game model liked that one.
67:56Also, Commanders, I want to give Jaden Daniels a little bit of grace, knocking some rust off.
68:01Though it's been a while since he's looked really good.
68:04Did save his fantasy day at the end. Dallas Cowboys, though, one of the bigger surprises to the downside.
68:11I mean, yikes. The pass game in general was really kind of scary, the way it underperformed.
68:16Pickens with the drops, which we know are not sticky, but it was gross.
68:21Would you believe me if I told you the Giants won and Dallas didn't complete a 20-yard pass?
68:27I mean, that's brutal. Again, I think you're starting your Cowboys, right?
68:31Javanta for the consolidation. Lamb and Pickens, of course.
68:34Ferguson, I'm bailing on. I think you should be dropping Jake Ferguson.
68:38And, you know, right, so Dallas, the consolidation will probably get you there.
68:42Washington, I think you're starting. Diggs, McLaurin stuff is a little bit scary.
68:46Although I did have that in my write-up. It was not just go-routes.
68:50They were trying to mix them in. It just didn't really work for him.
68:55But I heard people say, oh, no, we're back with the cardio, McLaurin stuff.
68:59That was not the case. He was running all over the field.
69:03He just didn't get it. So I'm keeping the light on for McLaurin.
69:08Chig Okonkwo is out. And Antonio Williams stepped into a very interesting role, Chief.
69:12It all happened kind of late in the game.
69:15But it was somewhat prominent. And it looks like he might be a thing.
69:20So I think he should be added everywhere. And maybe even started if you're desperate.
69:25What do you make of this one on the NFC East showdown?
69:29Yeah, we got bummed out a little bit for folks who drafted Antonio Williams and Chig Okonkwo when Steph Diggs came into the fold late.
69:37Because they were like, well, both of those guys obviously can't eat with Stephon Diggs there.
69:42And I think that was going to be true.
69:45Now that Okonkwo is out for this one, I like the call of Antonio Williams.
69:50I think he's a sleeper flex guy, at least.
69:53I think they could be doing a lot of three wide receiver sets.
69:57I don't think that there's a legitimate tight end behind Okonkwo that they want to feature, at least.
70:03Like, I don't think they're going to be forcing John Bates into the situation.
70:08So go ahead, slide in McLaurin, Diggs, and yes, even Williams, especially in deeper leagues.
70:12I want to call out Ja'Cory Krosky-Merritt. But as long as the commanders can keep this thing even semi-close, I don't mind
70:20JCM as a flex play this week. He was sort of technically the leader of that backfield.
70:25He didn't look great doing it. He certainly looked better than Rashad White.
70:30Or the team felt that he was a better option than Rashad White, at least.
70:34So I'm okay with him. And he's certainly not Javante Williams, who, you know, without the touchdowns last week that salvages his
70:42fantasy score, folks might have felt a little sour about the situation.
70:46But you should feel good about his usage. Williams is one of the very few guys in the club of true workhorse backs right now.
70:54So I just want to shout out Javante Williams.
70:57But you're right. For the Cowboys, I'm calling it a bad day at the office last week, John.
71:03I think it's a bounce back for everybody else.
71:06Yeah, I think the secondary I do not trust.
71:08I think Dallas' pass game will get right. Last thing on the Commanders before we break one more time.
71:15They did a really nice job. Again, you don't normally think of Washington and creativity.
71:20But they did a really good job of moving Diggs and Antonio Williams in and out.
71:25So it'll be interesting to see because I think that slot role is going to be very important in this one.
71:32Dallas ran like a really high rate of 3-4 or 4-3, right, 4 DB sets.
71:37And they also send a lot of blitzes. That a lot of times translates into a soft spot right underneath.
71:43And they were very beatable by the slot. Dallas gave up 9 catches for 90 and 3 touchdowns against the slot.
71:50So I think between Williams and Diggs, right, Diggs in a more prominent role.
71:55But Williams also could be an interesting stack. I guess the more I look at it, I guess I do see where the scoring comes from.
72:0351 just felt really high. But I guess if both of these defenses do kind of revert to the mean, I guess that would be exactly it.
72:12All right, so that was really good. Jake, we've got another pair of teams coming up next.
72:18We're going to get into Seahawks and Cardinals, Dolphins and 49ers when we return on Fantasy Football Weekly with John and Jake.
72:25You know what happens the second you make your picks on Underdog?
72:29All that football knowledge you've spent the week collecting suddenly matters even more.
72:33Before kickoff, maybe you're relaxed. Then your picks lock.
72:36Now you're checking everything. What's the weather? Who's active?
72:39Who's getting the red zone work? Why does this guy only have two targets?
72:43Now you're three feet from the television yelling, Get him the ball!
72:47Because once you've made your picks, every target, every carry, and every yard suddenly matters.
72:52And for fantasy football people, we already live for this stuff.
72:56That's what makes Underdog such a natural fit. Download Underdog to play Keep Your Million.
73:01Start with a million dollars, make it through all 20 picks, and walk away with whatever's left in bonus funds.
73:07You spend all week thinking you know how these games are going to play out.
73:12Now put that football knowledge to work. Get on Underdog and play Keep Your Million.

74:04I just dropped a video call, uploading this giant file on my tablet, looking at my watchgoal bananas with the group chat,

75:12All right, what's up? And welcome back, everybody. Fantasy Football Weekly here on iHeartRadio.
75:16Next up, we've got Seattle Seahawks. They're on the road, Jake, as three-and-a-half-point favorites against the Arizona Cardinals.
75:22And I guess maybe there's a little bit of sticker shock at first, but whenever you remove a quarterback from a functional
75:29offense, you know, I guess that's bound to happen.
75:32Seahawks wound up looking pretty good. JSN proving he's really matcher-proof.
75:36But I guess really the big surprise, like we mentioned with the Chargers, was the Cardinals going out and, you know, handling their business.
75:44Me and my big mouth insisting that that volume of play load just was completely unsustainable last year.
75:50Cardinals answered that with 72 plays for nearly 400 yards without a single turnover, and that was at 3.4 yards per rush.
75:57Jacoby Brissett out there looking like John Elway at times.
76:00Now, that, of course, is going to be a lot tougher when you play Seattle, right?
76:05They are so good and so talented at every level.
76:09They allowed just 10 points for four yards of play, made three takeaways, and were almost putting up, like, offensive EPA per play numbers on defense.
76:17Just incredible stuff. So I think it's pretty much set for Seattle because we weren't loving them anyway.
76:23I guess I want your take on price. I don't know if it's me doing the take lock thing or hung up on priors.
76:31I was very encouraged with what I saw from Judarian Price.
76:35I didn't think for a second that he was going to get all of the work and all of the targets and all of everything.
76:43That just, for me, was not realistic. So, yeah, the short yardage and red zone stuff going through Helani was a bit discouraging.
76:50But for my money, at least, Jake Price was easily the best running back on the field.
76:56And what I had in my write-up, the most important thing was he didn't allow any pressures.
77:01And I think that, for a rookie, is very, very important.
77:05You know, we saw half of it, not spring of preseason stuff, but Tyrone Tracy letting Dart get blown up.
77:12That's the quickest way to get yourself in trouble.
77:14Price did run 11 routes and, again, didn't let anybody get near the QB, which matters, especially when, you know, it's Drew Locke out there doing his thing.
77:24Though he was very accurate. And I was digging around also, I found in my notes, he had like a 25% rate
77:31of scoring 20 fantasy points, which I guess as a backup is actually pretty good.
77:36It was way better than I thought. Solid. Yeah, the floor of those games is very low.
77:41But he has spiked. So, the Arizona defense, one that I don't really buy into, they perform really well.
77:48Again, I just don't think that happened. I think the charges were rusty.
77:52So, I have a lot of correction happening in this one.
77:5541.5 points on the board. Felt a little low to me.
77:59What do you think about this one? I guess the divisional thing going on.
78:04I think if we're looking first at these rookie running backs and comparing Jadarian Price to Jeremiah Love, who's going to be
78:11staring across from him on the sidelines, give me Jadarian Price this week.
78:15I would much rather have the guy that I'm confident in because he does do those fundamentals and because the team does
78:22show their trust in him rather than just say the right thing.
78:26Although the Cardinals haven't even really said that they believe in Jeremiah Love.
78:30They've kind of almost been like dogging him. It's a little bit of like schoolyard, you know, whatever.
78:36You know, I'm going to make fun of you and that's how I show my love and appreciation, I guess.
78:43That's a little bit of their approach to Jeremiah Love.
78:46Like a hazy. Bird overall, yeah, pick. But I would take Jadarian Price and be comfortable with what he did.
78:53JSN, obviously, really no drop-off with Drew Locke last week.
78:56They have the connection. It's wonderful. Everybody else, you just kind of have to sit, I think, for Seattle.
79:02I can talk myself into A.J. Barner. The fantasy points were lacking, but the usage wasn't, at least for him.
79:09So if there were thoughts that Elijah Arroyo was going to encroach on his job, I think we can put that to rest at least.
79:17And because there has to be somebody else to catch passes from Locke besides JSN, I would rather put my money on
79:24Barner than any one of these wide receivers. Don't even talk to me about Rashid Shaheed.
79:29I don't want to hear it about Cooper Cupp.
79:32I'm out on those guys, especially with Drew Locke starting.
79:36And otherwise, yeah, I don't want to have Jacoby Brissett in my lineup.
79:40I think that if you were banking on Jacoby to continue doing what he did last week, I think you might be
79:47in for a rude awakening against the Seahawks defense.
79:50And we have to talk about the wide receivers in Arizona.
79:54Marv, where are you? What's going on, Marvin Harrison Jr.?
79:57But more than that, it's like, why Kendrick Bourne?
80:00Why now? And why not Michael Wilson more? I mean, Michael Wilson certainly did better, performed better than Marv, but it's not
80:07like he ran away as the true wide receiver one on this team.
80:11I think it's a little too messy for me to want to mess with in this matchup.
80:17If the point total was higher, like you were saying, John, because this is so low, or if the matchup was just better, fine, I'll take my chances.
80:26But I'm not doing this week with the wide receivers in Arizona.
80:30I'm looking elsewhere. Yeah, to me, that's totally fair.
80:33I was wondering, could you talk me off the Rashid Shaheed ledge?
80:37Should I drop him? Part of me wants to hold on.
80:40I do think he's a very good player, and I do think he'll be viable when, or if and when, Donald comes back with Locke.
80:49I don't think, you know, that target depth and the route maturity, I just don't think we're going to get there.
80:55And I hate wasting bench spots, especially on wide receivers.
80:59So where are you on Shaheed? I mean, listen, if it's a tough cut, it's a tough cut.
81:05Because I think you nailed it. I think Barner kind of sneakily was the second option.
81:10I might even like Kup more than I like Shaheed, just because it's low target depth or high probability slot stuff.
81:17Again, that route maturity and the, you know, overlapping tree that works.
81:21So where would you be on Shaheed? I'm asking you as a desperate manager here.
81:26Well, I want to couch this then. I want to be soft about how I deliver this, especially for you, John.
81:32But I personally say no to Rashid Shaheed. I would personally drop him because I've been waiting for the other shoe to
81:40drop in terms of when Torrey Horton is going to work his way into this offense.
81:45I thought Horton actually looked very good, though we didn't get to see a lot of him last year.
81:51So to me, and that's not me saying to go jump to the waiver wire to grab Horton, by the way.
81:58I don't know that either of them will be viable.
82:01I just think that there's a time where Shaheed might be better suited for special teams and the Seahawks say that.
82:08And then Torrey Horton sort of steps in as the number two that still nobody wants.
82:13Yeah, Seattle is so tough. They're going to make it hard on everybody.
82:18I'm kind of recommending Bourne. I think you should grab Bourne.
82:21I was mentioning to you off air. I don't think Harrison Jr.
82:25has any catch game. Bourne comes in and does it in his very first game.
82:30Mazda Roddy Marv looking more like Mazda Roddy Marv.
82:33I don't know if anyone's made that bad joke yet, but there it is.
82:38And yeah, it's rough. I would definitely be benching Harrison in this one.
82:42I think Wilson McBride and Bourne are viable. But outside of McBride, who I think is a must start, I think I'd
82:49be looking for a replacement for pretty much everyone else.
82:52What Seattle can do. They run all these disguised blitz packages within a zone.
82:57And it's usually a nightmare for backups. Again, maybe this is a move.
83:01I don't know. It's going to be really tough.
83:04I like the love call out right now. Though in his defense, what was a really strong data point was that he
83:11commanded the goal-to-go touches, which I have to take a loss on, Jake, because, you know, and Tyrell Algier has made a
83:18career of stealing goal-to-go touches from elite running backs, right?
83:22Not just from any old running back. Bijan Robinson, last I checked, is an all-world player.
83:27And Arizona doesn't seem to have the same kind of plans.
83:31If that's the case, Algier slides into, I think, well, eventually, right?
83:35I think we have to get to the workload.
83:37But I think he's eventually going to be a true kind of handcuff.
83:42And I might be looking to position for Jeremiah Love.
83:45I wonder if one more game of, you know, kind of weaker utilization and not a ton of production.
83:51I wonder if he could be available if he's on a team that's losing, right?
83:56We haven't really talked about trades as we blow through these game-by-game stuff at ludicrous speed, trying not to go flat.
84:03But that is a really viable strategy. Oh, you got that one.
84:07That is a viable strategy in fantasy is to try and pick on the standings.
84:12You look for the team that's 0-2, look for the team that's 0-3, and if you count total points and stuff, that's a great place to look.
84:21All right, next one. Enough of that one. I got to sigh because I somehow, Jake, ended up as the high man
84:28on the Miami Dolphins, which is not really where you want to be, especially after this one, though I mentioned I thought
84:35it was just more – I thought the offense would be a little bit better and taking advantage of negative game scripts.
84:42Now, in their defense, this one was a lot closer than the box score looked, similar to that Green Day and Minnesota game.
84:50It was a lot closer than it looked. But the Dolphins are traveling to San Francisco, who's fresh off that trip to the land down under.
84:58Sam Fran is a 13-and-a-half point favorite already. We're in week two.
85:02We're talking about two touchdown favorites, which is crazy.
85:05Sam Fran expected to carry the majority of this 45-and-a-half point total.
85:09I think you got to be a little bit worried about McCaffrey.
85:13He really split workload. You were very vocal about the lack of efficiency, how that could and should lead to being replaced.
85:20Kalen Black looked really good, though also popped up on the injury report.
85:25So I think you need to scoop up Jordan James just in case, though it doesn't sound serious.
85:30Stripling, the strip club closed early this season, and he's going to be out for a long time.
85:36So it should open the door for Evans to kind of go nuts.
85:41And I know Kittle was a little bit disappointing.
85:44I wrote about this. The vast majority of that utilization was right up front.
85:48I don't think he re-aggravated anything. Maybe this was a Shanahan galaxy brain thing.
85:53But he earned like four targets right out of the box in the first quarter.
85:58Then only got one more look, ran like six or seven more routes the rest of the game.
86:03So I'm trying to get confident again in Kittle.
86:06Maybe that was just like the ramp up and he'll get back into it.
86:11What do you think about Sam Fran and Miami?
86:14I guess the question is, is Miami viable at all?
86:17Did you see anything that you like? Yeah, I'm not going to run away from Miami entirely.
86:23Although you are talking to the premier Greg Dulcich aficionado over this offseason.
86:27And that certainly doesn't look good right now. It's just one week.
86:31You know, he's certainly the tight end one on that team.
86:35But I'm not advocating to start Greg Dulcich by any means.
86:38Malik Willis, I can still see it. I can still absolutely see you starting Greg Dulcich.
86:43Sorry, Malik Willis this week and Devin H. And this week, those two guys.
86:48Great, because there's going to be plenty of room for garbage time.
86:52There's still going to be some room for dump offs from Malik Willis, although he didn't show himself to be certainly the dump off king last week.
87:01And Caleb Douglas, I think we just got to call it out.
87:05He looks like the most trusted receiver for Malik Willis right now.
87:09Yeah, Malik Washington got targets too, but he didn't look good with those targets.
87:13Caleb Douglas looked much better. So if you are desperate for a flex play and you need a wide receiver and Douglas
87:20is still out there, go grab him, I think.
87:23Now, you mentioned CMC in the San Francisco side of things looking a little dreary, especially from an injury perspective.
87:30That is the thing that bums me out is because nobody should have expected George Kittle to come out looking like vintage George Kittle in week one.
87:39But he did get people's hopes up, John, because he looked strong early.
87:43So I'm not baiting George Kittle. I'm still fine starting him.
87:47Mike Evans, Debo Samuel, fine to start those guys.
87:50With the CMC and Kalen Black thing, we should point out that, you know, Kalen Black was added to the injury report on Thursday.
87:57It looks like a groin injury. But he's back practicing.
88:01So that's great news. I think CMC, he was coming into the week with an injury of his own.
88:07They wanted to be a little cautious with them.
88:10But I have a hard time seeing how they aren't equally cautious in a matchup that is so beatable against the Dolphins.
88:17Like, why rush a lot of CMC out there against Miami?
88:21I think we're going to see a lot of Kalen Black again this week, especially if things get carried away early in the game.
88:28And I do expect them to. That's the great call out.
88:32And all of a sudden, I'm thinking, I'd probably rather start Kalen Black than Tony Pollard.
88:37I'd rather have the scraps off the 49ers table in an elite matchup where he could be icing the game and even
88:45getting like a touchdown here or there than Pollard that I'm kind of terrified they're just terrible.
88:50Two things I had on Miami before we take this final break.
88:54Number one, I refuse to take the loss on Malik Willis yet.
88:58Okay, people are already throwing dirt on the fantasy grave.
89:01It's an NFL debut. He scored almost 17 fantasy games.
89:05If that is the Stone Cold basement and that's the real floor, that is all the proof, the case in point you
89:12need, why running quarterbacks matter so much. I tend to think they're going to get A-Chan, Devin A-Chan, more involved.
89:18I love it. It reminds me of that meme.
89:21We're all looking for the guy that did this, the hot dogs.
89:25When the Miami coach is out there saying, you know, we really got to – there shouldn't be any games where A-Chan
89:32only gets 14 or 15 touches, if I've ever had.
89:36Dude, you're calling the plays. Let's get this guy, The Rock.
89:39He's obviously explosive. I would say the same for Willis.
89:42The Dulcet thing was weird because he came out of the box, earning those targets early.
89:48Then that got away from him. I don't know why the Douglas thing is legit.
89:53I think he should be considered a priority add.
89:56He put up a full route compliment, 87% route participation rate.
89:59He earned seven targets, went five per 94, 22% target per route, almost three yards per route.
90:05I mean, just 11 routes per first down. These are all really great numbers.
90:09And it was the style also, Jake. They were running him over the middle.
90:14And again, it's very easy to box score watch this stuff.
90:18Oh, Miami is terrible. I thought they'd be terrible.
90:20And this looks terrible. Therefore, they are terrible. There were a few drives.
90:25One in particular sticks out to me where – and again, it's their own fault.
90:30And this is how these things shake out. Miami was moving the ball to close at the second half.
90:36They had to settle for a field goal. And I feel like if it was just – that was right after that real nice crossing game from Douglas.
90:45He looked fantastic. And I think with another minute or so, maybe they get into the end zone and kind of swing
90:52the momentum and the feel of it. So I'm going to stay a little bit bullish on Miami, just a little bit,
90:59because the San Francisco defense, they weren't great. You know, so I'm going to hope that maybe the lack of, you know,
91:07blitzing and stuff that Willis had to deal with last weekend, maybe manifest in just another fantasy floor.
91:13So I think you're rolling with A-Chan. You're rolling with Douglas.
91:16You're rolling with Willis. I think as far as our dulcet bags go, maybe we want to wait to see it first.
91:23But you could see where the pieces are here for this team to be.
91:28They're not going to be a 30-point offense, but I think they could be a 19- or 20-point offense, which would make
91:35them recover if they're into that kind of thing.
91:38So all right, that's it for the second-to-last segment.
91:41But next up is the PM games. We've got Colts and Chiefs, Giants and Rams when we return for the back end
91:48of the fourth quarter here on FFW. Fantasy football already has us watching everything.
91:53Then you make your picks on underdog, and somehow every detail matters even more.
91:57Who's active? What's the weather? Why does this guy only have two targets?
92:02Now you're yelling, get him the ball! That's the sweat.

94:09All right, welcome back, everyone. Clock's picking Jake on this fourth quarter.
94:13Four-minute drill. Time to giddy up and punch this one in.
94:16Just the 2 p.m. games left on the slate.
94:19But before we go, just a touch of shameless self-promotion.
94:23I've been working on this thing so hard. Make sure you jump over to fantasylife.com.
94:28One word, you can check out my work. Detailed write-ups on every single game.
94:32When I tell you, it's a little bit of everything.
94:35I even try and put a laugh or two in there.
94:39It's a buffet. Yeah, it is. A smorgasbord of information.
94:42But it's the truth. You know, I really put a lot of pride into it.
94:47And I have all these really great and robust data sheets and spreadsheets going on.
94:52And a lot of times I find that I can't always, you know, share it all.
94:57And it's a really great avenue for me to get out some really good nuggets, right?
95:03Pressure stuff and pace of play stats that maybe the normal person doesn't get a hold on.
95:08So I know you have some Dynasty stuff over there that's really cool.
95:12And then Barry's ride-or-die stuff going on. Dwayne's utilization report.
95:16Friedman's game model. Just a lot of really good stuff that kind of covers all your bases.
95:21They've really done a very good job with the tools this year.
95:25First of all, everything's dark mode. Love that. To me, that's worth the cost of admission on its own, man.
95:32My profile to glasses can't take any more light mode app.
95:35So, yeah, jump over to Fantasy Live. Check it out.
95:39Yeah, I'm really proud of the work. Let me know what you think.
95:43All right, let's do the PM stuff. Colts are on the road Sunday night in KC, man.
95:48Kansas City not only looked like a wagon. Gosh, I may be coming off a little bit arrogant this episode.
95:55But I got a lot of stuff right. And I think the same way we want to take our L's, we want
96:02to also take the Doves, even if we're not being overly confident.
96:06But I felt like signing Ken Walker for the Chiefs was the signal when they put all of their resources into defense and Kenneth Walker.
96:14That was it. So I felt like we were seeing the Chiefs kind of reinvent themselves in this new era, trying to
96:22defeat all the too high shelf stuff, which really stunted the Pat Mahomes deep ball game, which brought them rings and MVPs and stuff.
96:29But Andy Reid always good, building a boat in the middle of the ocean, kind of, you know, redefining his team.
96:36And I thought that looked obvious. That's like exactly what happened.
96:40Chiefs are hosting the Colts, their touchdown favorites at home.
96:43Colts, I was writing to you, and I wrote this again in my manifesto blitz thingy-majiggy.
96:48Colts, if you would have turned off the game after the first drive, you would have thought, man, I can't wait to get back to this one.
96:57This Colts-Ravens game is going to be awesome. I don't know if it was like the scripted 15 that people talk about.
97:04It just kind of really fell apart for the Colts.
97:08That drive that I'm mentioning also ended with a pick.
97:11But even that, they looked really sharp. Josh Downs was involved.
97:15Daniel Jones was on platform, on schedule, delivering throws on time.
97:18And it looked pretty good. And then just everything fell apart for the Colts.
97:23They ended up damaged, you know, falling behind. And I wonder with Pierce in kind of a limited role, right, he's the deep threat.
97:31And he didn't look great. He had a couple drops.
97:34He failed to get separation, Jake. Maybe they don't have an avenue to catch up.
97:39And the Chiefs are not really a blowout team.
97:42So maybe this one stays close enough for the Colts to stay in it.
97:46Because I'll tell you, I'm very worried about all the Colts assets.
97:50I think you're starting Taylor, of course. Downs got in those two wide sets.
97:55I think you could start him. I think Warren also.
97:58But the ADOT was all really low. And for the Chiefs, we were very worried about the pass game coming in.
98:05That ended up manifesting as well. Ken Walker looks like a correct pick.
98:09Other than that, maybe you're starting Travis Kelsey. Because I think there's a very strong inherent floor for Kelsey.
98:15But I think the ceiling days are gone. I don't think I said to you, I thought Worthy looked fragile.
98:22I don't think Rice can create separation. Both those things also look true.
98:26I don't know how we get to 46 and a half points in this one.
98:31I think that's where I'm getting at. Because if we have teams that like to run and keep it on the field
98:38of play, clock could be ticking the whole time.
98:41I'm worried about my fantasy pass catching assets in particular in this one.
98:46What say you, G? 500 yards between Jonathan Taylor and Kenneth Walker.
98:50Apparently that's how we get to this total. Who says no?
98:53Not me. I wouldn't say no to that. I do think that Kenneth Walker certainly should have no trouble getting to his 100-yard mark again in this one.
99:02The Colts defense certainly looked like they could be beat up.
99:06I don't know if they'll be beat up by this version of Patrick Mahomes, who still looked very tentative, conservative.
99:12And I don't know if that was him, his injury, his pass catchers, all of it.
99:18Who's to say? That's not for me until the end of the season where I will judge it very harshly if it doesn't turn around.
99:26But I also should just point out what a rough start for the season for all of the highly drafted tight ends.
99:33We went through basically everybody on this list. The guy that we didn't get to talk about is Brock Bowers because he isn't even starting yet.
99:42Right. But you go down the list of the top five, top six tight ends that were drafted.
99:47There is nobody who jumped out, unless I'm forgetting somebody, but include Tyler Warren, unfortunately, in that group.
99:53And I just hope that Tyler Warren has a bounce back this week because a slow start for him without the offense
100:01really making a concerted effort to focus on him, especially when your other options are a somewhat hobbled Alec Pierce and Josh Downs, who is fine.
100:09He's fine. But you've got those guys in old man Keenan Allen and Tyler Warren is not a focal point.
100:16It worries me. So I'm not pulling the rip cord.
100:19I'm not pulling the break glass in case of emergency button.
100:22But I do just want to point out Tyler Warren needs to see a big jump up.
100:28Otherwise, he might be somebody that you could trade away based on name value.
100:33I'm not doing it yet, though. Yeah. You know, I forgot Keenan Allen, who's now making it a habit of just.
100:39Just souring lots of fantasy for right. He's not out there like being explosive, but he still commands targets and he can win in tight spaces.
100:48He brings in everything near him. He's a vacuum and went six for 32.
100:53And that's your Warren stuff. And that's your Josh Downs stuff.
100:56So it is going to be a little bit frustrating, especially if we're worried about Daniel Jones, you know, kind of shaking off the rust.
101:04Will he be able to return to at least that very highly efficient kind of system QB that we got?
101:11The thing on Downs, though, that people were worried about was the role in two wide receiver sets.
101:17I remember quoting the stat view when they signed Allen that Keenan Allen paid like it was crazy to number like three
101:24of his 300 routes last year were in two wide receiver sets.
101:28That ended up being the case again. So Josh Downs is a starting receiver.
101:33And I think that's a pretty big takeaway. Anyway, something that's really kind of actionable, right?
101:38That we want to be on top of how much they're going to be able to get done against Chris Jones and
101:45Tranquil and these Chiefs who are not only right.
101:48Very good on defense. They had 80% success rate against the run.
101:52They were just they were so good that I think we're going to get a lot of, you know, mashing like leather helmet style football.
102:00The Colts want to run and establish that game.
102:03The Chiefs want to run and establish that game.
102:06I think the Chiefs will be more successful because if the Colts play at all like they did in the last game,
102:13they allowed over five and a half yards per rush and almost four yards after contact per rush, which isn't going to do it.
102:21Ken Walker in store for just another like like another massive game.
102:25But all those things said that makes it hard to get the 46 and a half points.
102:30So like I'm starting the guys I mentioned the real kind of nuts and bolts.
102:35Would you start Rashi Rice? I know I took some.
102:39I don't want to. Black for saying that I don't want to start him.
102:43Yeah, I don't want to start it either. Is that where you have like kind of a no on Rice Street?
102:50I mean, it's just it's again, it's there's such a lack of good options at wide receiver right now because of all these injuries.
102:58I hate to just say cavalierly. No, I don't start Rashi Rice.
103:02What are you doing? But when you look to some of these backup wide receiver or some of these fringe guys, like
103:09we're looking truly at Rashi Rice versus Caleb Douglas as an option that some people might be considering given the circumstances.
103:16I'm not going to say start Caleb Douglas over Rashi Rice.
103:20But I just think you do need to be a little bit cautious about expectations when you're building your lineup.
103:26This is a good time to just reflect on ceiling versus floor.
103:30And if you have a lineup that has a very low ceiling overall, like you need somebody that can jumpstart that.
103:37And I don't think Rashi Rice is your guy.
103:40You know, I would rather have Alec Pierce in that situation than Rashi Rice, because I think Alec Pierce in the right situation can go off for you.
103:49So it's just something to consider. But Rashi Rice, most people, I think, have to start.
103:54Yeah, at least Pierce can maybe get you a long touchdown.
103:58The right stuff is all predicated close to the law to scrimmage.
104:02He doesn't necessarily look healthy to me, nor has he shown the ability to beat any kind of press man and create
104:09separation to be that reliable target that we hope for.
104:12Or I wasn't drafting him, but people that did draft him was hoping for.
104:17Fine, fine. Start Rashi Rice over Caleb Douglas. However, Jake, the fact that we're even mentioning it in the same breath, right,
104:24top 25 overall pick compared to forgotten, undrafted, waiver wire, and on the worst roster we've seen in a decade kind of says all you need to know.
104:33All right, let's close this one out strong. I have a feeling you're going to punch this one in for us.
104:40It's Big Blue. Giants off a big win against the Cowboys.
104:44They're on the road against the Rams, who look terrible.
104:47This is another one of those, one of these teams look great.
104:51And you're like, yeah, obviously, but we got this one wrong also.
104:55Giants looked excellent. I think the rumors of the game passing John Harbaugh by might have been a bit exaggerated.
105:01Now, he did transport us back to 1950, though I want to give him a little bit of credit because for all
105:09the running that the Giants did, they did it well.
105:12They really were creative and used. This is what I hoped from the Dolphins was the quarterback and running back working in
105:19combination to create space, bootlegs, reverse bootlegs, counters, fake counters.
105:22Basically, Scadabo and Dart are heading in opposite directions, splitting the defense's attention, and they're pretty good with the ball fake stuff.
105:30And that really seemed to work for them. Now, they're going to get a much tougher challenge against a Rams defense that's
105:37similar to, you know, name it, the Chargers and the Broncos or whatever, I think are going to rebound.
105:43So, I mean, nature is telling me the Rams win, but right now my gut's telling me seven and a half points is a little bit too far.
105:52Forty and a half point total, again, I think is entirely too high for a Giants team that is looking to just sit on the clock.
106:01Again, how do you like this Monday night game shaking out?
106:04I think that we all just have to admit that Sean McVay is not a genius about everything.
106:10And the people who are concerned about the week one performance of the Rams just need to say that Sean McVay made
106:17a bad decision about when they went to Australia because he doesn't believe in jet lag or time zones.
106:24But I believe in bounce backs. And so don't worry about your Rams.
106:28Anybody who you were going to start last week, I think you're comfortable starting this week.
106:33With that said, we should call out Puka Nakua not practicing on Friday.
106:37It could be nothing. But in case it's something and you have Puka Nakua, maybe consider that there is an alternative play.
106:45Put him in your flex. Maybe Malachi Fields for the Giants if it turns out to be a game time decision and Puka can't go.
106:53Malachi Fields is not the worst emergency wide receiver to have because I actually saw some explosiveness out of him that kind
107:00of was lacking a little bit on the rest of the Giants crew.
107:04John, you kind of mentioned what the play style was, but I actually thought Fields could be kind of an interesting piece for them overall.
107:12Devin Singletary, a name that I have to bring up if he's out on waivers.
107:17I don't think that he should be. He looks like somebody who's going to be getting the dump offs from Jackson Dart.
107:24It's not going to be Scadaboo apparently. And we've talked ad nauseum about how Scadaboo is another injury waiting to happen just with his play style.
107:33So make sure that you have him out there.
107:36But let's just drop the confetti now, John. What a way to end the show talking about Isaiah Likely.
107:42Let's go. One of our favorite fellas from this offseason just paying dividends early on.
107:47Let's have that continue very much. Please and thank you.
107:50Yeah, so I think the Giants are consolidated. My stat of the week was they were over five minutes per drive.
107:57That only happened once all of last year and the Giants achieved it in just one game.
108:03So that's why I'm kind of leaning to the unders.
108:06I do think the Rams correct. Devontae Adams' usage, or lack thereof, near the goal line was very worrisome.
108:12I think you start him, but you need to be worried.
108:16I think Corum eventually catches Kyron, but for the time being, he's an RB1.
108:20So from Jake and John and everyone here at FFW, we really do appreciate you listening to the show.
108:27We'll see you next week, and good luck with those lineups, everyone.
108:31Take care. Fantasy football players are completely rational, at least until kickoff.
108:34Then suddenly you're tracking a backup tight end because you need 12 more yards.
108:39How many targets does he have? How many routes?
108:42Just get in the ball! That's fantasy football. Every target and every yard matters.
