Player insights

44

A.J. Brown

NegativeInjury40:40

The source notes that AJ Brown is down (injured) heading into the Patriots-Jaguars matchup in week three, which affects the Patriots' offensive capabilities and makes the Jaguars' defensive matchup more favorable.

Insight page

Adam Thielen

PositiveRole50:24

Adam Thielen is ranked as WR7 through two weeks as part of the Panthers' offensive explosion. The source notes that Thielen has been really good and is a key part of the Panthers' passing game, though the source expresses some caution about the overall sustainability of the Panthers' hot start.

Insight page

Amon-Ra St. Brown

PositiveProjection36:13

The source had Amon-Ra St. Brown ranked after Puka Nacua and Jalen Smith Nabors heading into the draft, but acknowledges that Jalen Smith Nabors has proven unstoppable through two weeks. The source notes that St. Brown is incredibly consistent, though the source was hesitant about whether Jalen Smith Nabors could sustain his elite production with Sam Darnold at quarterback.

Insight page

Austin Hooper

PositiveUsage7:34

Austin Hooper scored a touchdown for the Falcons before halftime, described by the source as 'the once and future Falcon King' making a return to steal a touchdown in the first half.

Insight page

Baker Mayfield

NegativeMatchup54:47

Baker Mayfield played well against Cleveland on the road in week two, which the source uses as a reference point for evaluating Bryce Young's upcoming matchup against the same Browns defense. The source notes that if Young can perform well against a defense that just held Mayfield in check, it would be more impressive than his first two performances.

Insight page

Bijan Robinson

PositiveUsage0:46

Bijan Robinson dominated the Falcons' run game against Green Bay with 114 rush yards in the first half alone; the source notes the film is very flattering to him as a talent, and he was a key part of the Falcons' offensive success that led to a blowout win.

Insight page
PositiveUsage2:07

Robinson dominated the Falcons' offensive game plan against Green Bay, beginning the process of changing the game by himself. On the very next play after a Penix interception, he went around the left edge for a 55-yard run showcasing patience, power, and speed reminiscent of Saquon Barkley. The Falcons paid off the subsequent drive with two Robinson runs in tight to tie the score at seven.

Insight page

Brian Robinson

PositiveUsage8:36

Brian Robinson came in as a backup and occasionally wrecked the Packers defense; the source describes him as 'the bathtub on wheels' who won't change direction much but will pound defenders into submission when given a crease, and he scored a touchdown in the mid-third quarter on a slant play.

Insight page

Bryce Young

NegativeBust50:02

The source is skeptical of Bryce Young's sustainability despite his QB2 ranking through two weeks. He compares the situation to the 2023 Saints' hot start under Derek Carr, which collapsed after two weeks when injuries mounted. The source notes Young has a history of technical issues—poor footwork, inability to stay in rhythm with receivers, and hitting the top of his drop too early—that have not fundamentally changed. Young was benched for Andy Dalton recently, and the source believes the current hot start is circumstantial and will regress.

Insight page
PositiveProjection50:02

Through two weeks, Bryce Young is ranked as QB2 in fantasy scoring, a dramatic turnaround from preseason expectations. The source notes this is particularly surprising given Young was recently benched for Andy Dalton and had significant technical issues with his footwork and timing with receivers. The source ranks Young at QB13 in his personal rankings but acknowledges the on-field improvement has been real.

Insight page
NegativeMatchup54:30

Bryce Young faces Cleveland in week three on the road with a 42.5-point spread, compared to a 50.5-point spread for the Bills game. The source notes that if Young performs well against Cleveland—a team that just played well against Baker Mayfield on the road—it would be more impressive than his first two performances. The source suggests that four straight weeks of strong performance (including a week four matchup against the Lions) would begin to change his skepticism.

Insight page

Christian Watson

NegativeUsage6:53

Christian Watson was targeted by Jordan Love on a third-down deep out route in Thursday night's game, but Love missed the throw that should have been completed.

Insight page
PositiveRole12:07

Watson caught a short touchdown on a play-action pass in the red zone, contributing to Green Bay's only lead of the game. The source notes this was part of the Packers' best offensive sequence of the night, though the team failed to build on this momentum.

Insight page

Chuba Hubbard

PositiveBreakout50:10

Chuba Hubbard is ranked as RB8 through two weeks, a dramatic turnaround from being left for dead in the preseason. The source describes Hubbard as the poster child of the RB dead zone, noting that he had not gained yards in five years before this season. His emergence as a top-8 running back is part of the broader Panthers offensive explosion.

Insight page

Dalvin Cook

NegativeRole44:00

The source notes that Dalvin Cook may have one touchdown in the Bills' offense, but Josh Allen is responsible for essentially all of the team's touchdowns through two weeks.

Insight page
NegativeUsage45:07

The source mentions that Dalvin Cook may have caught one touchdown in the first two weeks of Josh Allen's dominant performance, but is uncertain whether Cook caught it or if it was a rushing touchdown. This indicates Cook has minimal involvement in the Bills' offensive touchdown distribution.

Insight page

Darren Waller

PositiveProjection50:34

Darren Waller is ranked as TE8 through two weeks, benefiting from the Panthers' offensive explosion. The source notes that Waller has scored two touchdowns in the first two weeks, contributing to his top-8 ranking.

Insight page

Drake London

NegativeUsage1:47

London struggled early against Green Bay despite the Falcons' offensive success. His first target came on a third-and-eleven late in the first quarter and was not close; he was obviously frustrated. His first catch came on a third-and-long give-up screen for a punt, leaving his performance in question early in the game despite the team's eventual strong showing.

Insight page
PositiveProjection5:28

Drake London finished with 9 catches for 194 yards and a touchdown against Green Bay after a frustrating first half; he had a 84-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter on a sideline shot where he got loose on blown coverage, though the source notes he may not be in full game shape yet as he appeared gassed during the run.

Insight page

Drew Lock

PositiveRole38:00

The source notes that Jalen Smith Nabors has been incredibly efficient with Drew Lock at quarterback after Sam Darnold's injury, delivering 4 touchdowns and 277 yards on 17 catches through two weeks. The source highlights that this production is remarkable given the backup quarterback situation.

Insight page

Jahan Dotson

NegativeRole0:43

Dotson was targeted on Penix's early interception attempt, receiving a pass on a hero play attempt in the first quarter when Penix fired into coverage with three Green Bay defenders visible ten yards away, resulting in an easy interception.

Insight page

Jalen Hurts

NegativeValue31:30

The source mentions considering Jalen Hurts as an alternative to Justin Herbert in their home league, noting they are close in terms of value. The source ultimately chose Herbert as QB 7 over Hurts and a few other quarterbacks.

Insight page

Jaylen Smith

PositiveProjection34:10

The source notes that Jaylen Smith has also looked good in the Chiefs backfield, but emphasizes that Ken Walker is the primary driver of the offense's success. If Walker were not in the backfield, the source would want to see more before being confident.

Insight page

Jordan Love

NegativeProjection6:41

Jordan Love had a poor performance in Thursday night's game, missing Christian Watson on a third-down deep out that he should have made, leading to a punt on the Packers' second drive. The source characterizes the first drive as 'gross' and notes the team is in dire straits after an embarrassing home loss.

Insight page
NegativeDepth Chart7:03

Jordan Love's offensive line is unproven with young players replacing departed veterans; the source wrote in the Almanac that Green Bay is 'playing the hope card up and down their roster,' and the Packers got pushed around on both lines of scrimmage against Atlanta.

Insight page
NegativeProjection10:08

Love had a poor performance, throwing 53 times compared to just eight running back runs, indicating the Packers were forced into a pass-heavy game plan due to offensive line issues and lack of running back talent. The source notes Love 'blew the throw that he should make' on a third-down deep out to Christian Watson on the first drive, and made 'a brutal overthrow of Matthew Golden' on the second drive. Love was forced to shoulder an excessive passing load due to team deficiencies.

Insight page

Josh Allen

PositiveUsage44:00

The source highlights Josh Allen's dominant usage through two weeks: 5 passing touchdowns, 4 rushing touchdowns, averaging 40 points per game, accounting for 79% of the offense and 100% of the team's touchdowns (or nearly all, with Cook possibly having one). This represents a massive increase in Allen's fantasy value and usage.

Insight page
PositiveUsage44:47

Through two weeks, Josh Allen has accounted for 5 passing touchdowns and 4 rushing touchdowns, averaging 40 fantasy points per game and responsible for 79% of the offense and 100% of the team's touchdowns. The source compares this dominance to what Nikola Jokic does in the NBA, noting Allen is achieving this while the offense appears dinged up and the team is essentially letting him call his own number at the goal line.

Insight page
NegativeProjection44:47

The source expresses skepticism about the sustainability of Josh Allen's record-breaking pace, noting that while his current production is elite, historical precedent suggests this level of usage and rushing volume is not sustainable. The source cites concerns about health and durability, comparing Allen's situation to Cam Newton's career arc, where similar stretches of dominance eventually led to decline or injury. The source questions whether an 18th-pick investment can maintain this value and suggests the current pace is not actionable for fantasy purposes given the likely regression.

Insight page
NegativeBust46:12

The source notes that Allen's fantasy success is driven primarily by rushing touchdowns and high-risk rushing volume rather than sustainable passing efficiency. He has recorded two rushing touchdowns in each of the first two games and is getting hit frequently. The source expresses concern that this usage pattern—while producing fantasy points—is not sustainable and represents a bust risk if the rushing touchdown volume regresses, which historical NFL patterns suggest it will.

Insight page
NegativeValue46:31

The source would trade Josh Allen for a Lamar Jackson low-ball plus additional assets, but acknowledges there is no clear trade market for him given his current elite production. The source is holding Allen in a superflex league and is 2-0 with him, but notes that trading him away is not practical and the best strategy is to ride the wave for as long as it lasts.

Insight page

Justin Herbert

NegativeProjection27:34

After a 2-0 start, Herbert and the Chargers have disappointed significantly; the source watched them lose to the Cardinals in week two and noted the offense looked confused, with Harbaugh appearing lost on the sideline. Despite pre-season optimism about McDaniel's hiring and futures bets on Herbert as MVP, the source is concerned about the team's trajectory and does not feel great about starting Herbert going forward, ranking him QB 13 in week three despite Buffalo's weak defense.

Insight page
NegativeValue54:12

The source ranks Justin Herbert at QB12 in his personal rankings, compared to Bryce Young at QB13. When asked whether he would start Herbert or Young in week three, the source chooses Herbert, though he notes he would not be upset with someone choosing Young given the rankings are so close (12 vs. 13). The source emphasizes the need to keep seeing more data before making a final judgment on either quarterback.

Insight page

Keon Coleman

PositiveRole49:09

Josh Allen made Keon Coleman look like a real receiver in the game against the Lions last week, suggesting that Coleman's performance was elevated by Allen's play and the offensive scheme rather than representing a sustainable breakout.

Insight page

MarShawn Lloyd

NegativeRole13:12

Lloyd was used in the red zone but failed to execute; the source describes him as looking 'like a slug' when given a big hole against corner Mike Hughes, who is significantly smaller and outweighed by Lloyd by at least 30 pounds. The source criticizes Lloyd for not making a move or doing something with the opportunity, noting he 'pretty much just falls down.' This reflects concerns about Lloyd's ability to generate yards and make plays when given opportunities.

Insight page

Matthew Golden

PositiveRole10:10

Golden made a remarkable third-down catch on a deep shot down the right side against one-on-one coverage, tracking a ball thrown to his outside shoulder after initially looking to his inside shoulder, juggling it multiple times before securing it for 45 yards. The source notes this was 'maybe the first really remarkable play of Matthew Golden's career' and describes it as 'a kind of catch you don't often see the player follow through on,' highlighting his talent and ability to make difficult plays.

Insight page

Michael Penix Jr.

NegativeRole0:26

Penix returned to action against Green Bay after missing time, but started poorly with an interception on Atlanta's fourth play from scrimmage. On second and ten at midfield in shotgun, he faced pressure and made an awful decision, firing into coverage directly in front of him with three Green Bay defenders visible ten yards away, attempting a hero play to Jahan Dotson that resulted in an easy interception.

Insight page
NegativeProjection10:12

Michael Penix had a strong performance against Green Bay with good protection from his offensive line and effective play-action plays; the source cautions that Penix is not an unimpeachable superstar and will have nights where he reacts more to pressure, but last night he didn't face much pressure except for an early interception.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

NegativeValue36:13

The source had Puka Nacua ranked ahead of Jalen Smith Nabors heading into the draft, noting that Nacua is really unbelievable. However, Jalen Smith Nabors has proven to be the better pick through two weeks.

Insight page

Rashee Rice

NegativeRole33:00

The source expresses skepticism about Rashee Rice, noting that it is very well documented what the source thinks of him. This skepticism was part of the reason the source was hesitant about the Chiefs' offensive upside heading into the season, though the offense has since proven elite.

Insight page

Sam Darnold

NegativeRole36:13

The source notes that Sam Darnold's efficiency from last year felt wrong to sustain, and that it still feels wrong that Darnold is the Vikings' quarterback. However, Jalen Smith Nabors has continued to produce at an elite level even after Darnold's injury, with Drew Lock taking over.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeProjection2:34

The source expressed concern about Saquon's current performance trajectory, noting that while Bijan Robinson's 55-yard run was reminiscent of Saquon-esque play with patience, power, and speed, 'it would be wonderful if Saquon could look like Saquon anymore,' suggesting the source believes Saquon may have declined beyond recovery, though acknowledging uncertainty: 'We don't know yet.'

Insight page

Travis Hunter

NegativeRole7:00

The source references Travis Hunter as a subject of ongoing uncertainty about his role and position eligibility, noting that 'we really still don't know even all these months later' what exactly his role will be in the NFL.

Insight page

Travis Kelce

PositiveProjection33:00

The source notes that Kelce looked like he was on his last legs at the end of last season, but now looks fresh and rejuvenated in the Chiefs' revamped offense. The source attributes this transformation to marriage, joking that it does crazy things to a man, and observes that Kelce looks fresh and is part of an elite offense that has scored over 30 points in back-to-back weeks.

0:00It's the Harris Football Podcast with your host, Christopher Harris.
0:03Everybody welcome in. My name is Chris. This is a show about sports, the Huey Lewis and the News album, Sports.
0:10Hi there everyone. Thank you so much for listening today.
0:13A quick shout out to Bruce Jay who also sent me a lovely email about listening to the audiobook of Pound Foolish.
0:21As more people get to the end of the book and tell me that they enjoyed the story and the solution to
0:28the serial killer mystery and the overall statement about the NFL, that really does warm my heart.
0:33Thank you so very much for that. Less warm.
0:36The Green Bay Packers playoff hopes? It's a long season.
0:40I don't really know that for sure, but why don't we begin today's show talking about the Thursday night game, the Falcons
0:47get Michael Penix back and suddenly probably the worst looking team from week two, scoring seven points, getting their doors blown off at home against Carolina.
0:55Suddenly they go into Green Bay and eviscerate the Packers.
0:59See what I mean when I say the season is a series of ridiculously small sample sizes and we're just positive about
1:06something until one more game happens and then suddenly we are not so positive anymore.
1:11I'll get to the Packers, though I'm not sure how interesting that'll be.
1:15Sort of like picking through your dog's vomit to see if they barfed up the pills you were trying to give them.
1:22But let's begin the show talking about the Falcons didn't start great.
1:26Pennix came out, chucked an interception on Atlanta's fourth play from scrimmage.
1:30It was easy to imagine, uh-oh, this is just who they are.
1:34Cooper Rush or no Cooper Rush. Right around midfield, at a shotgun on a second and ten, Pennix gets pressure in his face, makes an awful decision.
1:43The coverage is not disguised, it is right in front of him.
1:47No confusion. I think he sees the three Green Bay defenders directly in the middle of the field, ten yards away.
1:54But he fires it in there to the immortal Jahan Dotson anyway, just trying to make a hero play and it's an easy interception.
2:01In the first quarter, the left tackle Jake Matthews was getting worked a little bit, which was concerning because he really got run over against the Panthers.
2:10There was a third and eleven late first quarter and Drake London got his first target, which was not close.
2:17But the Packers hit Pennix in the head for a personal foul, giving them a first down.
2:22And then, Bajon Robinson began the process of changing that game by himself.
2:27Very next play, he goes around the left edge for a 55-yard run.
2:31And it's so funny to me that Herbstreit, first of all, spends an inordinate, uncomfortable amount of time in that game just
2:38being completely dug in on the undeniable fact that Bajon Robinson is simply the most kind player in the league.
2:45As if that were a quantifiable fact. And Herbstreet knows it for sure.
2:49Just the biggest kind of suck-up loser announcer there is.
2:52But also funny that he and Al kept talking about Bajon.
2:56He's one of one. I'm not sure there's ever been a running back like this.
3:01When the analog to me plays in the league right now, Saquon Barkley.
3:05That's what Robinson looks like to me. Be wonderful if Saquon could look like Saquon anymore.
3:10We might unfortunately be beyond that with him. We don't know yet.
3:14But that 55-yard run I'm talking about. Patience, power, speed.
3:17Saquon-esque to me. The Falcons pay off that drive with two Bijan runs in tight.
3:22That ties the score at seven. So then we were left to hope that Drake London could get going.
3:28And you probably know that it turned out great.
3:31But it was frustrating in the first half. London's first catch came on a third-end long give-up screen for a punt.
3:38And he was obviously frustrated. Right before that, he had run kind of a clear-out route for Dotson, who was the main target on that play.
3:47And you could see London like giving up and not running fast and kind of like throwing his head up in the
3:54air and, you know, sighing real heavy. Not good.
3:57The next drive, which led to a field goal where both Bajon and Bryan Robinson were rocking.
4:02There were two more screens to London. Nothing exciting.
4:05Then finally late second quarter, we got an intermediate play-action post to London, which was a nice rip-it-in-there throw by Penix.
4:12Then on a third and one in Packer territory in the two-minute drill, a play-action deep out to London.
4:18Makes sense that play-action would work because of the run game for Atlanta.
4:23I think you know, really dominated. In the Almanac, in Jordan Love's profile, I wrote, Green Bay is playing the hope card
4:30up and down their roster, hoping that unproven young players can take the place of departed veterans.
4:35That holds true on Love's offensive line for sure.
4:38And it also holds true on the defense. And yeah, me again.
4:42The Packers in this game just got pushed around on both lines.
4:46Bajon had 114 rush yards in the first half.
4:49It's a little frustrating that before halftime he gets stuffed near the goal line and...
4:54Here comes Hooper Dump of Hall of Fame! Here comes Hooper!
4:58It's your favorite sitcom. The once and future Falcon King, Austin Hooper, back to steal a touchdown.
5:03This is 17-7 at the half. London, 5-54 at the half.
5:07It was obviously going to get a lot better.
5:10All credit to Bajon. Stats are one thing. This film is very flattering to him as a talent.
5:16It's also kind of flattering to the bathtub on wheels Brian Robinson, who would come in and kind of wreck the Packers occasionally too.
5:24Albeit, he's never going to look as good because he's not going to really change direction very much.
5:29But give Brian Robinson a crease and he will pound you into submission.
5:34Mid-third quarter London gets a slant down to the red zone, but it's Brian Robinson who steals the touchdown.
5:40And early fourth quarter, a sideline shot to London and he gets loose.
5:44There is nobody. It's kind of a double move, a little bit of a blown coverage.
5:49Nobody between him and an 84-yard touchdown, which would have tasted great.
5:53And it's what we've said. You know, in the Almanac, London got a B- grade for speed and he got run down from behind fast.
6:01That was fast. That was like a dad kind of jogging and letting his young child catch up to him.
6:08I'm not sure London is all the way in full game shape yet because he looked totally gassed even in the middle of running.
6:16But nine for 194 and a big sigh of relief.
6:19I think we will find as the season winds around the weeks that Michael Penix is not some unimpeachable superstar.
6:26Some nights we'll have to react more to pressure.
6:29But last night he just didn't get that much pressure except for that first interception.
6:34His line held up well. Play action rocked because of course it did.
6:38The run game rocked and it turned into a laugher.
6:41We'll do some Green Bay talk after the break.
6:44It's not going to be as nice. So how about this?
6:48Today's mixtape. I promised I was going to get to more of them.
6:52I have so many funny ones and I definitely want you to keep sending them.
6:57Hey Harris at HarrisFootball.com. But if I don't play them, that's going to discourage you from sending them.
7:03I get way more than I can play anyway.
7:06But I love them all. Thank you so much for sending them.
7:10They always brighten my day. This one, I'm not kidding, is from February.
7:14I'm humiliated that I didn't get to it till now.
7:17It's kind of not on topic. It's apropos of nothing because it's about Travis Hunter of all people.
7:23It's from Matt Grant. He's in Canada. It is truly one of the crazy, like the production is amazing on this thing, Matt.
7:30I'm going to play this for Cousin Josh since he gets name dropped in the song.
7:36The question asked by this mixtape is what exactly is Travis Hunter?
7:40And we really still don't know even all these months later.
7:43Incredible job, Matt. Let's play it. Here we go.
7:46What, what, what, what, what? Passes locking down. Today's kickoff.
7:49How good was that? What am I, an idiot?
7:52I didn't play that for months. What a moron.
7:55On today's show, hard act to follow. I'll do my best.
7:59I will get to the Green Bay side of the equation from Thursday night and talk about where we go from here with them.
8:07I'll do my best to update the injury news that we dipped into on Thursday morning show.
8:12And then he's back. I just mentioned him. It's the Prince of Darkness.
8:17Cousin Josh has returned from two weeks in Europe to grace us with his first regular season appearance of 2026.
8:23And Josh is going to count down a simple list, five things that are blowing his mind so far in 2026.
8:30I think it'll be a blast. This show is so stupid, but I nevertheless thank you so much for all your loyalty and for being here today.
8:39We are sponsored by Ridge today. I've talked about Ridge wallets.
8:42They are slim, offer privacy. They're very cool. Ridge is also the creator of my new power bank that I just got.
8:50This thing is awesome. A five in one MagSafe charger.
8:53I'm going to the coffee shop later today. This is the first day I'll be bringing my Ridge power bank along with me.
9:00Phenomenal convenience. Wireless charging, lightning port charging, USB-C charging, charger Apple watch, everything you need to charge all your devices with while you're on the move.
9:09And the cables are built right in. Imagine being able to get up to three full phone charges wherever you go on the move.
9:17This does not look like some hokey thing you bought at the airport.
9:21It's thicker than a credit card, but height and width wise, that's the size.
9:26Looks very cool. You will love this. I am not going to be going to the coffee shop to write without it.
9:33It's awesome. And if you're ready to get a head start on gifting, you can find Ridge's power bank at Best Buy
9:40and Amazon, or go to Ridge.com slash Harris for Ridge's friends and family sale.
9:45Buy two power banks, get a third one free.
9:48It's Ridge.com slash Harris. Shop smart this holiday season with Ridge.
9:51Ridge.com slash Harris. Amber doesn't work here anymore. It's sort of mean that I made that sound drop.
9:57Oh, Robot Talia made that sound drop. Of course.
10:00Uh, but the Packers. Yeah. Also kind of mean not too happy coming out of an embarrassing home loss could easily be Oh, and three.
10:08I guess the silver lining is they didn't blow a lead, but no, it is dire.
10:13The first drive was gross. Jordan Love had Christian Watson on a third down deep out blew the throw that he should make and they punt.
10:22The second drive was kind of looking like it wouldn't go anywhere either with Love making a brutal overthrow of Matthew Golden,
10:29but on third down, let's admit that might have been maybe the first really remarkable play of Matthew Golden's career.
10:36It was great. It was a third down where Love takes a deep shot down the right side.
10:41One on one to Golden. I'm going to guess the throw was to the wrong side.
10:47Golden looked over his, his left shoulder, his inside shoulder, tried to track the ball, realized it was actually a bomb to his outside shoulder.
10:55His right shoulder turned his head around to the other side without losing the ball and caught it like three times juggled it.
11:02But that is really hard to do. It's a kind of catch.
11:06You don't often see the player follow through on it went for 45 yards.
11:11It momentarily got Green Bay going. We file that away talent wise for Golden really good play.
11:16They get a pretty good screen gain to Marshawn Lloyd.
11:20You had Sky Moore lining up in the backfield a little bit and then inside the five Lloyd is still in.
11:27He gains one yard for a first down. Then they go play action and Christian Watson catches a short touchdown and Green Bay got the lead.
11:35And that was the best it would get all night because I mean, now everybody has seen it.
11:41It made me giggle watching social media last night as the so-called experts who don't really watch the games were coming to
11:48the realization now that they were kind of being forced to watch a national TV game that you know, those of us
11:55who do watch the games have been fretting to you out loud for a couple weeks.
12:01Oh, the Packers are kind of ass. Oh, their offensive line kind of stinks.
12:05Yeah. Welcome to the party pal. It surely does.
12:08They're missing the right tackle for the entire season.
12:11The left guard has been in and out of the lineup already and nobody's positive that he's great.
12:17This might just be who they are on their O-line and it's very bad.
12:22Also, though, clearly made worse by the lack of difference making players at running back early second quarter.
12:27There's a play where Caleb Johnson looks like he's going to get loose.
12:32He's basically one on one against a defensive back.
12:35It's probably a safety. All he has to do is just like any kind of escape vector just jump to the right
12:42a little bit and he just can't do it.
12:45He just runs into the guy and gets tackled.
12:48There just isn't a lot of fear that these running backs are going to make you pay for throwing everything you've got
12:55at Jordan Love and the Falcons certainly did that just like the Vikings and Jets have done so far.
13:01Love threw it 53 times compared to eight running back runs.
13:05They tried to turn the screen game into that prototypical extension of the run game and Caleb Johnson did catch a ball
13:12that was like way over his head. I didn't think the big guy had that in him, but they just don't have enough talent at running back.
13:21You know, they thought they would. They were planning on it.
13:24They didn't see the Josh Jacobs thing coming and missing Jacobs and Micah Parsons is a legit excuse, but we are where
13:32we are third quarter in the red zone. It was Lloyd's turn to look like a slug, a big hole.
13:38And this time it's a corner. It's Mike Hughes, who is like my size, who Lloyd certainly outweighs by 30 pounds at least.
13:46Make a move, dude. Just do something, dude. And Lloyd pretty much just falls down.
13:51And then on that drive on fourth and one, the last gasp of a competitive game.
13:56The Packers go for it. Love rolls out. The cameras did a good job of showing it just it faked out nobody.
14:03They're not going to bite. They're just they're going to cover and nobody's open and love throws the ball away and it's done.
14:1110 minutes to go in the fourth quarter. The game was over where upon Green Bay did launch a good drive and
14:18Matthew Golden scored his first career regular season touchdown going to the post with a ball thrown a little bit behind him.
14:25Golden's second nice adjustment on a ball of the night, but absolutely Basora time.
14:29I think the logic some folks are going to give you in some quarters if you listen to other shows, which, of course, we advise against.
14:38They're going to give you the classic. Well, they're going to be playing from behind fire up this passing game.
14:45Maybe I once again want to exclaim to those people.
14:48Buddy, if all it took was losing big in games, the 2025 New York Jets should have been a font of fantasy points.
14:55They ran 394 plays trailing by two touchdowns or more last year.
14:59124 plays more than any other team. The Titans were second.
15:03Sure, I remember how great the Titans passing game was for my fantasy team last year.
15:08We want our players to be on good offenses, not bad offenses.
15:12Can it work out for Watson and or Golden with this particular setup in a given week with an offense that can't run?
15:20Sure. Yes, in any given week it can work out, but I do not think I want to live that way because
15:27defenses are going to start to get wise. Next week the Packers go to Tampa while the Falcons play next Monday night against the Saints.
15:35Injury news. Hey, just my weekly reminder. There's no such thing as an injury expert.
15:40And if someone is calling themselves that you don't have to pay attention to them.
15:45We will all find out about the injury guys when the NFL teams tell us, but certainly a big week as they
15:52all are to decide who will and won't play.
15:55And here's what I think we know so far.
15:58Despite mixed messages on what the heck happened to him in the fourth quarter of week two, Caleb Williams definitely not playing Monday night against the Eagles.
16:07So far, it seems Tyson Bajant won't play either.
16:10So it's probably Case Keenum, which of course he's been around a long time.
16:14Can he keep some of the skill players in the Bears offense rolling?
16:18Possible, but the receivers have to go lower in your estimation.
16:22The commanders will be without Jaden Daniels against the Seahawks.
16:25Marcus Mariota will play, which is not great. And there's a story going around on Friday morning that the commanders aren't even
16:32considering IR for Jaden Daniels and he definitely doesn't need surgery.
16:36And maybe that's all true, but you're looking at a multi-week absence for sure.
16:41Sounds like so far Sam Donald will be back for the Seahawks in that same game, but we will see.
16:47And Jameis Winston will play for Jackson Dart only until and if he's so bad that they have to find someone else.
16:54But it can work. Winston is hyper aggressive to the point of frontal lobe inactivity.
16:59But you can't sit Malik Nabors or Isaiah Likely until we see how bad it really is in a full game.
17:06It's a good matchup against the Titans, but we'll report back, of course.
17:10At running back, we still don't know the full pictures.
17:14But if you check the ranks at harrisfootball.com since the last time I talked with you, I have gotten Saquon Barkley back into the ranks.
17:22And I put both J.K. Dobbins and R.J. Harvey back in and took Jonah Coleman out for the moment, which makes the
17:29week two waiver wire look not great. But we can only work with the information they give us at the time.
17:36I will keep updating those ranks as we get more information about what Friday's practices look like.
17:42Jadarian Price still don't really know anything as of my recording this this morning.
17:46He practiced on a limited basis Thursday that would seem to potentially bode well for his chest that became a shoulder.
17:53As of my recording, I have not slotted him in the ranks yet, but that might be coming later today.
17:59Kyle Monongai has played through his sprained knee so far, but hasn't practiced yet this week.
18:05We will see. Jonathan Brooks is on IR already with a core muscle injury.
18:09He'll miss probably at least half the season. Rico Dowdle was out and then in and then out against the Patriots last
18:17week, was in a walking boot this week. But I suppose still a chance he could play against the Bengals.
18:23Aaron Jones is okay. I think Tony Pollard is okay.
18:26Travis Etienne was added midweek to the injury list because of his hamstring.
18:31I don't really know that much about it as of right now.
18:35Of course, we'll keep an eye on it. Suddenly, Alvin Kamara could wind up being the main dude in that backfield, which
18:42suddenly is attached to an offense that we're pretty interested in.
18:45The triumvirate of Puka Nakua, Nico Collins and Zay Flowers, also known as Ouch.
18:50They all seem likely to repeat their week two absences and miss week three.
18:54None of them have practiced yet. In fact, Sean McVay, you've probably heard, has been saying like pessimistic things about Puka not making a lot of progress.
19:03Nico Collins was a midweek injury and the reporters there immediately said this is a multi-week absence.
19:09And Zay Flowers, you know, not a major injury.
19:12That's the new thing, right? Not a major injury, but yeah, major enough to probably miss multiple games.
19:18Alec Pierce, unsurprisingly put on IR. I say unsurprisingly because if you were watching that national TV game Sunday night, you saw what that looked like.
19:26Real doubt, frankly, that Alec Pierce is back anytime soon and maybe at all this year.
19:31Better news, Lad McConkie practicing in full. We know he played last week, but on a limited basis and they clearly didn't want to get him hit.
19:40He has a cracked rib, but I don't know how you don't use him in this game against Buffalo.
19:46In that same game, DJ Moore apparently did some stuff on Thursday in practice wearing a non-contact jersey, which could mean he'll turn out okay.
19:55I will check in on him later on Friday.
19:58I maintain that if DJ Moore is active in this game, you probably just swallow and play him.
20:03Jalen Coker got a limited tag in practice, but he finished that game against Atlanta.
20:08Carolina so far doesn't seem like he's in too much danger of missing week three.
20:13Of course, if he has a bad game, then we instantly go to, uh-oh, was this like a little blip because Carolina found themselves in positive situations?
20:22Or did Jalen Coker do worse because of his ankle?
20:25And we're not going to know that and the beat will go on.
20:30Brock Bowers, the Raiders are certainly talking like he's going to play in week three.
20:35Hopefully, we'll have real clarity about that so you can know way in advance.
20:39And Dallas Goddard has a sprained MCL, will miss multiple weeks.
20:43Zach Ertz comes off the street, could be a short-term solution.
20:46They certainly trust him there, but he is a lot slower than the last time he played in Philly.
20:53We are sponsored by Chubbies. So fun when Chubbies sponsors because shorts and bathing suits, there's nobody.
20:58Nobody better. Every single time you need some trunks, you go to Chubbies.
21:02That's just the rules in life. And this time of year, it's so cool to point out the NFL collection at Chubbies is back again.
21:11Rep your team with polo shirts, gym-ready mesh shorts, and yes-siree, swim trunks.
21:15Swim trunks with your favorite team's logo on them.
21:18What a great gift idea. My dad has two of the Patriots polos, which I gifted him.
21:23Extremely stretchable and breathable. I have Patriots mesh shorts from Chubbies.
21:27They're really comfortable. Just a really, really fun collection.
21:30We love Chubbies as a brand. Every bathing suit I own is Chubbies.
21:34You just can't go wrong. Such incredible, high-quality stuff.
21:37And for a limited time, Chubbies is offering $20 off on your full purchase price at ChubbiesShorts.com when you use the code Harris.

21:58I just want to hear all about cocktails in Europe.
22:01It's so great to have him back. It brightened my entire week knowing that it was coming up on Friday.
22:07He's back in the country. It's Cousin Josh. Find him on Instagram at DetectiveFish, F-I-S-C-H.
22:12Did you post anything permanent on Instagram about your grand Italian vacation or was it all like fleeting reals?
22:19It's stories. I like to give people a taste of what's going on, but I want to leave them wanting more.
22:25So it's like, it's funny you said that. I posted some amazing pics, some great shirtless photos, some great pics of Jord,
22:33like wonderful food, the attire we had on, dressed to the, I don't know if it's the nines or the tens these
22:40days, but you say, Chris, it was just, I mean, it was wonderful.
22:44Now I probably, I got to do some like vacation permanent, like stories and stuff that stay there.
22:50I mean, it's, it's a, um, something that's on my, uh, new year's resolution for next year.
22:56I've just done so many amazing trips. And I say that again with my chest popped out, very obnoxious New Yorker, but,
23:03uh, look, it was amazing to get away. You can't see me now.
23:07I got a nice tint on my face, just like tans.
23:11The tans good. Just olives, olive skin right now.
23:14It's wonderful, Chris. That's great. So did you, I, the first text I got from you from Italy was like, believe it or not, I found good martinis.
23:23Yeah, it was amazing. The, uh, the first place made me a martini when I was in Apulia, um, in the Southeast part of Italy.
23:31And I watched him do this with the vermouth.
23:34He, it just, I was like, Whoa, where'd you learn this man?
23:38Um, it's just, I've never seen that. I'm like, he's like, no, I'll make you a good martini dude.
23:44And I watched him stir it and everything like that.
23:47The driver muth was perfect. The ratios were right.
23:50He's like, do you want this? Uh, like, uh, uh, do you want lemon?
23:55Like with the twists, like had it. And I'm like, this is wild.
23:59I was waiting to get like a pick a pickle in here or something, but no, I, for five straight nights, Jordan
24:06and I, um, went and got martinis at the same place.
24:10And then we would go out to dinner and it was just, I couldn't believe it.
24:15She was even having martinis, but it was, uh, it was very delightful.
24:19So, um, thumbs up for the Italians. Um, they won me over with their drinking culture.
24:25Did you get a caviar bump? I didn't do the caviar bump because they would have been like, excuse me.
24:31Like that was, that was kind of like something where if I said that they make, you can now leave this place and don't come back tomorrow.
24:40I think that, I think that hasn't made its rounds around the rest of the world yet.
24:45I think that's just an obnoxious New York thing.
24:48Probably for the best. Um, you don't know this because I didn't tell you before we hit the button, but you got,
24:56um, a new walk up song that includes caviar a bump that I wanted to use cocktail smoker today, but next week
25:03we'll give you caviar a bump because it is good.
25:06It is good. So I can't wait to give you that.
25:10Um, and of course you missed week one. You didn't even get to see the football.
25:15It was the middle of the night. You were texting me like, what the hell happened?
25:20What's this? What's that? And I was like, man, listen to the show.
25:24And then you did to your credit. You listen to the show.
25:28I'm not going to text you an hour's worth of podcast, but you listened.
25:33Um, speaking of, um, stories, stories are the ones on Instagram that last, right?
25:37No stories are there for 24 hours. Oh, your actual posts are the ones that last.
25:43So like I usually go with stories when I'm away, but I probably need to put together some permanent posts.
25:49Because you saw, uh, I don't think you were there.
25:53You might've been there live. I don't know, but you saw me and rain Wilson doing the talking about the book.
25:59I sure did. I set my alarm to watch that.
26:03I think it was like 10 30 Italy time.
26:06Um, so nice. Yeah, it was great, man. It was great, but it, it, I don't, whatever it is, he saved it as a permanent thing.
26:14So it's still there. So that's good. I don't understand how Instagram works all that well.
26:19That's why I need, I still need an intern.
26:22I need some high school student who's, who listens to the show.
26:26You, you think I'm kidding. Email me. Hey, Harris at Harris football.com.
26:30Help me out. Help me figure this stuff out.
26:33It would be for the best. All right. Well, you have returned.
26:37You have watched week two. You of course caught up with the podcast for week one and you, you know, saw your fantasy teams and stuff.
26:46And so we are giving you a topic today, which is five things that are blowing your mind about the NFL after two weeks.
26:53We've done this topic in the past. I don't believe we did it last year, but it's fun.
26:59Cause I don't think anybody can really tell you that something didn't blow your mind and it'll be a good launching point for questions and conversations going forward.
27:08Are you ready for this? Yeah, I'm ready for this.
27:12I say it reluctantly cause it's my number five, but you're allowed to have your mind blown.
27:17All right. Then what is your number five thing that's blowing your mind so far?
27:22Look, it's been talked to death and I really wanted to just sit here and say, you know, the Minnesota Vikings, Chris,
27:29a two and oh, like I wanted to do that, but I'd be lying to myself and all these incredible fans that
27:37come on the show to listen to me. It's the LA charges for me.
27:41Number five. And I will tell you why. Before I head to Italy, people are talking about, yo man, what do I pick for survivor?
27:49Paul, I'm like, dude, just advanced to week two.
27:52You get the chargers. I'm laying nine and a half points.
27:56I probably have six to seven different bets involving Justin Herbert as MVP.
28:00I got the chargers and Superbowl matchups with the NFC teams.
28:04Like Chris, the amount of futures I have like linked with them to make the playoffs.
28:09I'm just like, well, we know what the chiefs are.
28:12I've seen that act before, you know? And like, yeah, they'll probably either get the wildcard or win the division with Denver.
28:19But like, you know, it's obviously two and oh, they set them up really perfect to begin the season.
28:26Chris, when I woke up in Italy and I saw that score, I was like, am I on peyote?
28:32Like I, I couldn't even believe. And I was texting like, did someone get hurt?
28:37And they're like, ah, you know, lad towards the end of the game, but that's not why the cards, you know, went to work on them.
28:45So then I doubled down this past week and I looked.
28:49So you love this. I was going to text you because I know what you would have said anyway.
28:55But I was like, do I use Stafford or Herbert in my home league?
29:00And I'm like, you know, I'm like, they're real close.
29:03Once Niku is ruled out, I'm like, I'm just going to take the safe points.
29:08It's Herbert home, Vegas. It didn't affect me winning.
29:11But Chris, I watched it with my own eyes this past week.
29:15I don't know what else to do. And I know we talk about it typically leading into the playoffs with Herbert and he does his stuff.
29:23This is just at another level to me with the offseason signing of McDaniel.
29:28I mean, Harbaugh is just sitting there on the sideline confused.
29:31But this is just I don't know what to say.
29:35And of course, you know, the next seven games there.
29:38This is going to be something else. I don't obviously don't feel great with them going into Buffalo, but you know, it's the NFL.
29:46So that, of course, they'll go in there and we'll go, wait, what?
29:50Yeah, I kind of think that'll happen. In some ways, I kind of think it'll happen.
29:55Like, I think that's seven or something. And I'm like, I think I don't think I would take Buffalo.
30:01I'll tell you that if they lay down and lose 49 to nothing in this game, like Harbaugh could get fired like
30:09within a few weeks if that happens. Yeah, what a mess.
30:12What a total mess. And it's funny, like the only fantasy bright spot has been Omar Anhampton and me and every single
30:19guest who's come on to talk about them so far has crapped all over Omar Anhampton and said this is fake.
30:26He looks bad. He's kind of fallen into the end zone a couple of times.
30:31He's fumbling. It's it's it's a wasteland. It just again goes to show you that man, our jobs just has to be
30:38to try to make perceived situation matter as little as possible.
30:42We can't completely remove it. I recognize that we can't we we think about it.
30:47We think all McDaniels got fix this thing. Finally, a grown up a professional and we just do not know.
30:53But also two weeks is two weeks like we certainly this is the baseline, but like it can change and it can get better.
31:01So what an absolute mess. Do you have exposure fantasy wise to Chargers teams to Chargers players rather?
31:07I mean my home league. I have I have Herbert and McConkie in that one and I took Herbert as like QB seven.
31:15I took him over Hertz and a few other people.
31:18I mean I have Stafford in that. You know, I'm 2 and 0 in that league.
31:23Luckily, but yeah, I don't feel great about starting Herbert.
31:27These days. No, I talked about it with Andy on the Wednesday show.
31:31You know, QB 13 this week and that feels high, but you're just like at some point.
31:36I don't think Buffalo's defense has looked very good and they know something's wrong.
31:41So aren't they going to try other things? And you know, the offensive line was such a bad disaster in week one.
31:48But in week two, I like I didn't even really think he got that much pressure.
31:53He got he did. He did it. But it was much more off the ends.
31:58It was Max Crosby is much more off the ends than it was and that's like supposed to be the strength.
32:05That's where Sean Slater Joe Alt Joe Alt got dog walked by Max Crosby in that game.
32:11I mean once again though, are we really going to let ourselves do the thing where we explain we we give excuses
32:18for an entire season for Justin Herbert because of an offensive line.
32:22I'm personally done with that. No, I'm not. I'm done giving excuses.
32:26I will say and I watched that especially at the end.
32:29I mean even after playing horrible if Hampton doesn't fumble that ball.
32:33I mean they still have a decent chance to win the game.
32:37I mean they're in midfield. So it's like they played pretty bad again.
32:41I don't think the cure for that is going into Buffalo, but I again it's the NFL and I could see myself on this next week going.
32:50Hey, but wasn't that crazy when they went in there and beat the bills?
32:55Yeah, yeah, it is possible. All right. You were doing five things that are blowing your mind.
33:00What's number four on your list? I wrote Chiefs revamped offense like this is another one and you and I talked about
33:08it and I was higher obviously on Walker than you, but we didn't.
33:12Yeah, I was even hesitant because like over the last couple of seasons one even before my homes got hurt.
33:18He did not look good throwing the ball down the field.
33:22Kelsey looked like he was on his last legs.
33:25It's very well documented what I think of Rashi Rice.
33:28I'm not even sure if Andy Reid cared about football at the end of last year and I'm just like alright so Walker will come in here.
33:37He'll get the vibe. He'll be a good player, but like this looks like an elite offense and I don't want to
33:44go too crazy because again, it's two weeks, but they were home dogs in that first Denver game.
33:50That was another one where I woke up the next morning and I kind of looked at the score and I went huh?
33:58And I was just like that was another one.
34:01I'm like wait Denver's getting two and a half on the road.
34:05I'll take those points like 31 to 10 and then you know they hang up 33 in the Colts.
34:11I'm not a Colts fan, but again back-to-back weeks scoring over 30 points.
34:15The offense looks rejuvenated. I mean Kelsey looks fresh.
34:18I can tell you this marriage does crazy things to a man Chris.
34:22Before I met George, I was wearing eight inch inseams.
34:25Now I got my thighs out, but this guy looks fresh and I'm just I'm wowed like I don't know.
34:32It's just I know that you are also surprised especially with kind of the way they're going downfield and they look like
34:39a fluid offense, you know this week versus the Dolphins.
34:42I mean the odds are they're three and oh, so yeah.
34:46Yeah looks. Are we ready to call them a wagon?
34:49And it was like a multifarious wagon almost because week one it was like, oh the past it was two for 12
34:57to start that game like the pass offense didn't look good at all in week one and then week two is like, oh well never mind.
35:05They can do whatever they want apparently and I don't as I think Walker is unlocking a lot of stuff.
35:12I don't think you can play safeties back with Walker running like that and I think the Colts got burned by not
35:19by bringing a safety down into the box. No question.
35:22I look at that offensive line and I mean the center is really good.
35:27The right guard is really good. I don't think anybody else is like awesome on that offensive line anymore.
35:33And this is my way of saying I think Walker has they were absolutely right to sign him and I think he's
35:40been the reason this is all working the way it's working, which was the absolute crutch argument.
35:46Everybody gave all summer and sometimes crutches are real because it just he is that we've always loved him.
35:52He's the Pattinson Robert Pattinson of running backs. We love him.
35:55I mean the question is can he stay healthy.
35:58I think Emma Johnson has also looked good, but I think if it's anybody but Ken Walker in the backfield, I go.
36:06Well, let's see. I'd like to see it. But man, I think he's just the whole thing is different because he's been incredible.
36:13And yeah, I mean I'll take the L. I was telling you have him in your home league, right?
36:19Yeah, I took him and chase Brad in my 12 double up.
36:23Yeah, you you I said Amun Ra and like that wouldn't have been a wrong answer either, but you'll take the guy at this at the scarce position.
36:32So like yeah, you're all you're all good. All right.
36:36How about number three on this list? This is a hat tip to you and I wrote JSN everything proof.
36:42You know, hat tip to you. I remember looking at your rankings heading into my draft and I had I had him
36:49for after Puka and ASB and you had him too.
36:53I believe it went chase JSN and I'm sitting here being like, you know, I don't know Chris like Puka is really
37:00unbelievable and like ASB is incredibly consistent. And if there's something that feels wrong to me, it's that it's still Sam Darnold
37:07and like the efficiencies from last year. And again, I still had him as an end of round one pick like I love JSN.
37:15I had him last year, but it was it felt crazy to me to think he could he could sustain his unstoppability if that's even a word.
37:24And these first two weeks, I don't even let me ask you this Chris.
37:28Is there someone you would trade JSN for other than Jameer Gibbs right now?
37:33You know, it's close. I'd say those those top running backs.
37:36It is just such a different position, but like I might not.
37:40Yeah, I might not. And he's done it with drew lock.
37:44Like if I would have told you, hey, guess what?
37:47Sam Darnold's gonna go down at the beginning of a game versus the Patriots who are a at least the plus defense
37:54right with an elite DB in Gonzalez. And guess what?
37:58Two straight weeks with drew lock. The guy's got four touchdowns, 277 yards and 17 catches.
38:03I mean, that double move he put in the cornerback at the beginning of that Cardinals game.
38:09I probably have watched that clip on X or Twitter 13 times.
38:12I can't get enough of that head fake and just goodbye.
38:16And it's like, again, you know, it's coming. It's not like you're sitting here going, oh, well, they got Rashid Shahid.
38:23And it's such an amazing backfield led by a bunch of, you know, banged up running backs or Darien Price, whatever.
38:30It's just, you know, I cannot believe that he continues to operate with this type of efficiency.
38:35And you know, it's coming. It's just I have nothing.
38:39I have nothing to say. It's unstoppable. A quick break to say thank you to Z Biotics.
38:44You've heard me talk about pre-alcohol from Z Biotics, but maybe you've never quite pressed the button to buy.
38:50If you drink alcohol, I could not recommend it more.
38:54Anytime I drink, I always make pre-alcohol my first drink of the night.
38:58And it's really excellent how much better I feel in the morning than I probably should.
39:03Pre-alcohol is the world's first genetically engineered probiotic. It was created to break down acetaldehyde, which is created in our stomach when we drink alcohol.
39:11If you make pre-alcohol your first drink of the night and enjoy responsibly, that byproduct doesn't get downstream and you feel way better.
39:19Z Biotics by now has sold 14 million bottles and earned the trust of thousands, including me.
39:24And there is no reason not to try it.
39:27If you try pre-alcohol and it doesn't work out for you, tell them they will refund you no questions asked.
39:34And I can get you 15% off your first order.
39:37Go to zbiotics.com slash Harris. If you drink alcohol, try pre-alcohol and get 15% off zbiotics.com slash Harris.
39:43We are back with Josh and Josh. We are going to resume our weekly habit, which is to get a pick on DraftKings from you.
39:51DraftKings is now available in all 50 states, one app, all the football, pretty fun.
39:56So you can do like prediction markets in California.
39:59You can, you know, on one game, you can make picks and stuff.
40:03And so I just want to say in your absence, your reputation grew.
40:08Because at least last year was a horrible year for your picks, but at least you got some right.
40:14Jim McCormick week one. What do you take the Cowboys on the road against the Giants?
40:19His favorites, they lose outright. Week two, Jeff Erickson comes on.
40:23He takes the Buccaneers at home against the Browns and gives the points.
40:27They lose outright. Right. So, I mean, sometimes your guys don't cover, but they don't usually lose outright when they're favorites.
40:34You just come away from these past two weeks to me, look, smelling like a rose.
40:39Ah, so this is where I give you my pick.
40:42My first one of the year, right? Let's, let's do it.
40:46I think I'm going to go against your footie pajama boys.
40:49And I'm going to take the Jacksonville Jaguars at home, giving three points.
40:54Look, I have not been impressed. And I, I know you have not either by the New England Patriots.
41:00They played a disgusting game even last week that they beat Pittsburgh on.
41:04May still does not look great. They're down AJ Brown.
41:07We'll see how that run game goes. I will say Jacksonville has done a really nice job over the last year or so stopping that run.
41:16So they're going to have to throw the ball to go ahead and beat them.
41:21That said, I think this Jacksonville offense looks really fluid.
41:24They real, they look good on both sides of the ball.
41:28I think they're one, they'd be one of my picks in the AFC to make the playoffs that I'd feel comfortable about.
41:35And I think they get it done at home.
41:38Coming off a loss last week at Denver and the Patriots coming off a win to three points.
41:44Jacksonville at home. It's brave. It's brave. It's brave.
41:47It's assuming a thing that mostly the Jags have not proven, which is like being able to hang with a good team.
41:54The one exception being the Broncos game last year.
41:57Although this, you know, you just saw this. I'm sure you saw some of that Broncos game.
42:02I watched the last week. They, they should have won that game.
42:06They, they, however, did not. Yeah, I got, I probably would be on the other side with my footy pajamas, but I
42:14probably for me, it would be a little bit of a stay away.
42:18But I get where you're coming from. It kind of is a, it's a, it's a, first of all, litmus test for May because he's hadn't played good.
42:27Also, like, I just don't think it's going to be the kind of heat.
42:32I remember Tom Brady used to go down there and just get his doors blown off because it would be 90 degrees with 90% humidity.
42:40And apparently it's going to be like 85, but not crazy humid and some cloud cover or whatever.
42:46So, but anyway, yeah, I can't wait to see it.
42:49It's going to be really fun. Remember the DraftKings Sports app now live in all 50 states.
42:54So no matter what game you're watching, you're always connected with one DraftKings app.
42:59And that means new customers. If you're interested in checking it out, maybe you never had it available in your state before.
43:06Sign up, download the app, sign up using the code Harris, spend $5.
43:10You'll get $150 in rewards within 14 days. And that includes all markets.
43:15So make sure you sign up using the code Harris.

43:50Limited time offer. Nationwide based on sportsbook predictions and free-to-play sports contest availability.
43:55Varies by state. Okay, we are talking about a couple more things that have blown your mind so far.
44:01What's number two? I wrote the Josh Allen usage.
44:04And have you ever eaten crow before, Chris? Well, vegetarian, you know, so.
44:08Yeah, I know. It's been a long time for you.
44:11Five passing TDs, four rushings, guys averaging 40 a game, 79% of the offense, 100% of the team's touchdowns he's responsible, or
44:19Cook has one maybe, or did he catch it?
44:21I don't even. This is like, the only thing I could comp this to is what Nikola Jokic does in the NBA for a long time.
44:30And I think what's been really impressive about this is that he's doing this with kind of more a little bit dinged.
44:37Like, the offense is just, they're basically saying, hey man, like, you want to be wild, man.
44:43Do whatever you want to do, man. You want to just run, just keep running, get to the goal line, call your own number.
44:51Like, it just seems like they don't care what happens to him.
44:54And I'm sitting here thinking to myself, like, and again, I laughed because if you remember during the Baggie Awards, we got
45:02to LVP and I'm like, you know, I want to pick Rice, but I've talked about it forever.
45:08So I'll give my hot take and I'm like, Josh Allen, man.
45:12I'm like, 18 pick? Like, you know that that's not going to be the greatest value.
45:17Doesn't look great right now. Again, we have 15 games to go, but like, is this sustainable health-wise and just?
45:23I don't think so. I personally, I don't think it's, I don't think it's actionable.
45:28I don't think you can, you can have Josh Allen and have invested the pick in it and, and trade him away
45:35because it's just an absolute obvious, you know, if this keeps up, it'll be a record-breaking season.
45:41But I don't, I mean, everything about watching the NFL my entire life tells me the guy who does this eventually like
45:48ossifies like Cam Newton, just something happens, you know, Cam Newton had these stretches where you were like, well, this is the
45:55only guy you can have to win. And then something always happened.
45:59And except for the one, the, you know, his very early, the year they went to the Super Bowl.
46:05Because, because let's face it, he's been, you watch these games and he's been really good between the twenties.
46:12He's been really, really good. But the reason he's been good for fantasy is because he's taking, he's getting creamed and taking shots and rushing for touchdowns.
46:21He's got two rushing touchdowns apiece in the two games.
46:24And I don't know, for me, I'm scared of it, but I don't know what you can do if you've got him.
46:31No, it's like, you're not going to, I mean, what are you going to sell him for?
46:37Are you selling him for like a Lamar by low plus something?
46:40Like, I don't even know what you do with that.
46:44I think you just ride this wave, but like, I just don't, I can't, I don't know how sustainable it is.
46:51Like you said, if it continues, we're just going to get to the end of the year and go, remember that was a crazy season.
46:59And Alan did, you know, 4,200 and 40 TDs and ran in 17.
47:03Like, it's just, the only thing I thought about is like, I wasn't going to say Will Chamberlain.
47:09I wasn't around for that, but like, it reminds me of what Jokic does in the NBA, but even more extreme than that.
47:16So it's just, it's, it's blowing my mind. It reminds me of the legendary performance by Bam Adebayo.
47:22Oh yeah. That was at 82 pointer or 80, whatever it was.
47:26I just remember people making fun of it because basically like they just kept handing him the ball because it didn't matter.
47:33It's better than that. I'm going to say, I'm going to go ahead and say if you were to do 40 passing
47:41touchdowns and 17 rushing touchdowns, it may slightly eclipse one good night for Bam Adebayo.
47:46Are you proud of me that I made an NBA illusion?
47:49That was pretty cool. I mean, I knew right away once you said Bam, I'm like, wow, he's talking Miami Heat 80 pointers.
47:57This is great. I'm the best. Yeah. Like, okay.
48:00Somebody wants to give you JSN for Josh Allen.
48:03I would do that. Yep. I would figure, figure it out at quarterback.
48:07But other than that, I'm not, I'm probably, well, I, I, I think in the fishbowl, that's where I have Josh Allen.
48:14I had the one pick in the fishbowl. It's a super flex league.
48:18Of course I had dart in the fishbowl too, but guess what?
48:22I'm two and Oh, cause I have Josh Allen in the fishbowl.
48:26But you know, and I'm not going to trade him cause you don't really make trades in the fishbowl anyway, but like
48:33I'm going to ride it for as long as it works.
48:37I would be pretty, I, I think at some point.
48:40You go, okay. Week one, he, it was the Texans and he was mad about how that game went last year and it was the opener.
48:49So he, he got that thing where you're playing against the sim in a, in a video game and the sim gets mad and just goes crazy.
48:58Okay. Okay. Week two, it's a national TV game and it's the opening of their stadium and he goes crazy and the lines beat him.
49:06Uh, I don't know. I, it was like, it's, it's dumb to be giving caveats to what have been two awesome performances.
49:13There was no, there was no hidden badness in these performances.
49:17He made Keon Coleman look like a real receiver for the, against the lions last week.
49:22But I, you know, so like, I'm, I'm not saying, Oh, I think bad play is coming, but there's something circumstantial about
49:29a hundred rushing yards and four touchdowns. You know, these first two weeks that you go, come on, come on.
49:35We're not really going to put him at this kind of risk.
49:39Are we? So it is, it is pretty shocking though.
49:43I think it's a good one to bring up.
49:46And that brings us to the last thing that is blowing your mind.
49:50Number one on the list is. I just heard Panthers power.
49:53And like, here's the thing, dude, like we're now two weeks in and I'm going to give you what this reminds me of at the end.
50:02Cause I'm not fully sold, but my mind is blown that we have Bryce Young.
50:07A QB two, a player that people claimed couldn't see over his offensive lineman.
50:11We have Chuba Hubbard as RB eight, who is left for dead.
50:15The poster child of what the RB dead zone.
50:18And everyone's like, bro, you see Brooks, man. Like forget that he hasn't gained yards in five years.
50:24Like this guy's the real deal. Then you got a wide receiver seven in Coker, not even Ted McMillan.
50:30We won't even get to him. Who's also been really good.
50:34And Darren Waller is tight in eight. Like again, that's two weeks and just happened to score two TDs.
50:40But like, I had a superior at work today.
50:43I won't name names say, oh yeah, I dropped Justin Herber and picked up Bryce Young.
50:48And I'm like, okay, that's, that's extreme. But like, this gives me the vibes, Chris, of a couple of years ago.
50:55And I will laugh at myself when the saints came out of two and O.
51:00And if you recall, didn't punt in the first two weeks.
51:04Yeah. And David Carr was leading that team. You know what I did?
51:08I went, I know how this goes. Derek Carr.
51:11Derek Carr. I went ahead. I threw an MVP bet on him.
51:15I'll embarrass myself on here. I'm like, you know what?
51:18I remember years ago on the Raiders, like he was like third place.
51:22If he didn't get hurt, he had a chance of winning it.
51:26I'm like, I know how this goes. Saints figured this out.
51:30Offense is elite. Like, I'm in. And then everything went to crap.
51:34So, I think you have to look. Everybody got hurt.
51:37Do you remember who the offensive coordinator of that team was?
51:41Oh, man. Don't, oh, man. I remember it was a big name.
51:45Who was it before? It was a big name now.
51:48Wasn't a big name then. Oh. Clint Kubiak. Kubiak.
51:51Clint Kubiak. And like, things looked really good. And then everybody got hurt in week three.
51:56Remember they went to Dallas and absolutely, they didn't punt.
51:59They manhandled the Cowboys. And we're like, wait, what?
52:02So, that's a great comp. That's a great comp.
52:05Yeah. And again, look, Bears week one. That looks like to be one of the bottom defenses.
52:11I mean, I know that last week was just so much rain in Minnesota.
52:15So, I'm not counting that. But like, I don't know.
52:19It's only two weeks. I'm trying not to go crazy about it.
52:23But for me to sit here and not put that on the list would be me lying to you.
52:29And I can't ever lie to you, Chris. I really appreciate that.
52:33I lied to you before because I said I had Herbert 13.
52:37I have Herbert 12 and Bryce Young 13. And actually, yesterday on the show with Jeff, I, with Jeff Bell, I was
52:44like, who would you, you know, who would you start between Herbert and Bryce Young this week?
52:49So, I'll ask you the question. If you had Herbert and Bryce Young, your boss obviously made this decision already.
52:56Who would you start this week? I'd go Herbert still.
52:59Yeah. I mean, I'm 12 and 13. So, I wouldn't be mad at the person who decided to do the opposite.
53:06But, yeah, I still, I mean, you need to keep seeing it.
53:10That's what I said to Jeff yesterday. You know, you do need to keep seeing it.
53:15It's a lot of bad play. We did not hallucinate Bryce Young's ridiculous footwork and his sort of inability to stay in
53:23rhythm with his receivers and hit the top of his drop when they were hitting their brain.
53:28Like, there's a lot of technical stuff that goes into a good passing game.
53:33And it's timing and getting to your drop at the right pace and not pitter-pattering your feet and like 1,000 miles an hour.
53:40How many times in Bryce Young's career before this year did you watch him drop back?
53:45And it's like the Flintstones thing. And he hits the top of his drop and the receivers are still halfway down the field.
53:53They're not turned around yet. And it's been better.
53:56I will admit it's been better. And I'm sure that's like the main thing they've worked on with him.
54:02But think about how recently he was benched for Andy Dalton.
54:06I know. You know, that was pretty recent. And to have it turn around like this, like, eh, I don't really believe it.
54:13I have to admit. Sorry, Panthers fans. I have to.
54:16Like, if I had turned this list into five things you don't believe, even though it's been amazing, probably Carolina would have been on there, right?
54:25Yeah, I think, look, you asked me about the Herbert game versus Bryce Young.
54:30Bryce Young this week. At Cleveland, look at that, too.
54:33It's like, it's a road game. It's a 42 and a half.
54:37And then the other one's a 50 and a half.
54:40And you figure they're going to be playing catch up probably versus the Bills.
54:45So I think there's a little bit of stuff I'm kind of baking into that.
54:50But if he does it again, not that Cleveland is like this elite defense, but we kind of just saw them play
54:57a good game versus Baker Mayfield on the road.
55:00Like, I'd be impressed. Oh, Cleveland. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
55:03Yeah, yeah, Cleveland. But I'm saying if he does it this week, he gets the Lions in week four, which you know is going to probably be points.
55:12Like, I might start to turn a little bit.
55:15I'm not saying like, oh, if you could do it versus Cleveland.
55:19But like, I don't know. Four straight weeks to begin the season, I'd probably kind of change my tune.
55:25But 15 more weeks to go. Like, these NFL seasons are so long.
55:29And we'll look back at that in seven weeks.
55:32Remember when Bryce Young people were dropping Justin Herbert and picking him up?
55:36That's how I feel, too. I think that's probably the likeliest case.
55:40There has been a lot of circumstantial stuff around these two big performances, especially the Bears one.
55:46I mean, like you said, that's, I mean, I don't know.
55:49The Bears were okay last week. It's just that it was, I don't think it was the rain.
55:55I think Carson Wentz and, you know, just the Vikings in general.
55:59I don't know. Like, every week is more information.
56:02So much more information than we had the previous week.
56:05So, put it this way. There's a reason to watch that game now.
56:10I mean, I watch them all. But like, it's really interesting to watch Panthers at Browns this week.
56:16That is not one you would have circled three weeks ago, two weeks ago.
56:20You know, it's really interesting. I want to see what it looks like.
56:24I mean, I just said earlier in the show, we're not positive Coker's playing.
56:29I think he probably will finish the game. But like, you know, I would like to see them at full strength.
56:36Like, sure. Like, just as it grinds and as the teams themselves put down more tape, you know, then we see how defenses adjust.
56:44And Young has been pretty confusable in the past.
56:47And so, maybe he's kind of reaching that point where he's less confusable.
56:51And more games equals more information. And maybe Panthers power, as you describe it, will have more lasting power than we are suggesting.
56:58But that was a fun list. That was a good list.
57:02I think so, man. And I think, yeah. And I think, like, as far as kind of like overall surprise type stories,
57:09you got a good kind of combination of, you know, like you got the Chargers and you got, you went positive on four of them.
57:17That's pretty shocking for The Prince of Darkness. That's not my style, man.
57:22Well, you just, you're amending. It's Italy. Italy just all the sudden.
57:26Italy changed me. I came back and I'm just like, everything is going so well in life.
57:31You're so chill now. You're such a type B.
57:34That's what I always say about you now. You're so type B.
57:38All right, everybody. Well, Cousin Josh is back and he's not going anywhere.
57:42You can hit him up on Instagram at Detective Fish, F-I-S-C-H.
57:46On his latest post, just give him a heart or something.
57:49Let him know how much you're happy that he's back.
57:53And I'm very happy that you're back, my friend.
57:56And thank you so much for doing it. Always a pleasure.
57:59And thank you so much for listening. Let me thank the sponsors who made today's show possible.
58:05Kind of an interesting melange of sponsors that have some stuff that I'd love for you to check out.
58:11We talked about Ridge for that power bank. And I quite literally just got my power bank yesterday.
58:17It is very cool. It will be in my book bag, in my computer bag, like permanently now.
58:23You got to charge it. But it is very cool.
58:26Check that out. Great gift idea. Chubbies, another one with the NFL collection.
58:30A really great gift idea. Zbiotics, kind of like a party favor idea.
58:35If you're going to have a party and you're going to have booze at the party, just get like a thing of pre-alcohol from Zbiotics.
58:43Anyway, you can find information about those sponsors in today's show notes.
58:47All the current sponsors are listed at harrisfootball.com. Thank you so much for how well you do support the sponsors.
58:53That is going to do it for this Friday episode.
