Alec Pierce

NegativeInjury59:08

Alec Pierce is probably not playing again for a while, opening up targets for Keenan Allen.

Insight page

Baker Mayfield

NegativeProjection24:00

Mayfield was bad again Sunday; he had nine attempts of 20-plus air yards, many of them one-on-one where he was trying to give his guy a chance to make a play, but he airmailed a lot of them; he got confused about coverage and threw one directly to a Cleveland defender; the source largely blamed Mayfield for the Buccaneers' loss.

Insight page

Blake Whiteheart

PositiveRole24:06

Whitehart was the target on a misdirection throw that won the game for Cleveland against Tampa.

Insight page

Braelon Allen

NegativeRole13:33

Allen was given a series in the first half and punched in a touchdown to make it 7-7 at halftime; limited role in Jets offense.

Insight page

Breece Hall

PositiveUsage13:52

Hall finally got to show off on the final play of the third quarter; on a third and long, he made a crazy cut and accelerated through the defense, turning nothing into 42 yards—demonstrating explosive playmaking ability.

Insight page

Brock Purdy

PositiveProjection29:28

Brock Purdy had only one incompletion during the competitive portion of the 49ers-Dolphins game, demonstrating elite accuracy and efficiency in a dominant performance. The source characterizes him and his receivers as 'trustable guys here pretty darn trustable.'

Insight page

Bryce Young

PositiveProjection32:57

Bryce Young had a 'really good' performance against the Falcons, throwing 'nice balls daggers into tight coverage' to his receivers. The source notes that facing a weak defense (the Falcons) and not being under pressure as a quarterback made it 'so much easier' for Young to perform well, similar to how Drake Maye benefited from facing weak defenses last year.

Insight page
PositiveUsage34:00

Had a really good performance in Week 2 against Atlanta; source notes he played well in the Panthers' offensive outing.

Insight page

Bucky Irving

PositiveUsage25:07

Irving had great stuff, almost never goes down on first contact despite his small size; on the second drive he made a great cut to make someone miss in the open field and gained 40 yards; early in the third quarter he had an awesome cutback when he was supposed to go right but it was bottled up, so he jumped three holes to the left; he played 48 snaps to 23 for Kenneth Gainwell, was in on the final attempted drive when it started raining, and was partly responsible for getting the Buccaneers close but they ran out of time.

Insight page

Caleb Douglas

NegativeRole28:24

Caleb Douglas got a catch for a first down inside the 10-yard line but got hurt at the end of the game. The source directly addresses criticism about his draft ranking, stating 'I think the answer is probably no' when asked if he should be ranked higher, and emphasizes the Dolphins offense 'does not look like a place that's going to support reliable receiver production.'

Insight page

Chris Brooks

NegativeUsage11:54

Brooks played 22 snaps in Week 2 vs. Jets, the most among Packers running backs; got work in overtime but couldn't move the ball; played on the series after the Jets punted with the game at 17-14.

Insight page

Chris Godwin

PositiveRole25:00

Godwin had a bigger day than Abuka against Cleveland's defense.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

PositiveUsage30:11

Christian McCaffrey scored twice on the goal line despite getting stuffed a couple times, demonstrating his continued red-zone dominance and value. The source humorously notes he 'somehow overcame his tiny bones' to score, indicating McCaffrey remains a reliable touchdown scorer.

Insight page

Christian Watson

NegativeUsage10:30

Watson made a big play early in the second quarter, then disappeared for a long stretch before reappearing inside the Jets' five-yard line to catch a play-action slant for a touchdown; inconsistent involvement in the game plan.

Insight page
NegativeUsage10:30

Watson made an early big play in the second quarter but then disappeared for an extended stretch before reappearing inside the Jets' five-yard line, where he caught a play-action slant for a touchdown in the Packers' overtime win.

Insight page

Chuba Hubbard

PositiveRole32:57

Chuba Hubbard is functioning as a starting running back for the Panthers; he caught a touchdown on the first series against the Falcons and is described as 'a really good player' and 'a really good story.' The source notes that poor performance last year was clearly injury-related, and if Jonathan Brooks remains hurt, Hubbard owners 'are gonna be pretty happy with Chuba Hubbard.'

Insight page
PositiveRole34:15

Functioning as the Panthers' starting running back; caught a touchdown in Week 2 against Atlanta; source notes he is 'as close as we get right now in the league' to a true starting running back in the modern NFL.

Insight page

Cooper Rush

NegativeProjection32:00

Performed extremely poorly in Week 2 against Atlanta: fumbled on first play from scrimmage on a naked boot, threw a deflected interception on second drive, had a Kyle Pitts drop on third drive, and attempted a Drake London jet sweep stuffed on fourth-and-one in field goal range; source states 'Cooper Rush will never play again' and expects Michael Penix to start Thursday night.

Insight page

Darren Waller

PositiveRole33:38

Darren Waller scored two touchdowns in the Panthers-Falcons game, including one on a drive where Teddy McMillan had a catch, and another after McMillan's deep shot catch in the third quarter. He is contributing in the red zone for the Panthers offense.

Insight page

Deebo Samuel

NegativeUsage29:28

Debo Samuel had a drop on the first drive of the 49ers-Dolphins game, which was Brock Purdy's only incompletion during the competitive portion. Despite this, the source groups him among the 49ers' 'trustable guys here pretty darn trustable.'

Insight page
PositiveRole30:00

Robinson's high ankle sprain injury provides Debo Samuel increased security in the 49ers' route-running opportunities; with Robinson out, Samuel faces less competition for targets and red zone touches.

Insight page

Demarcus Robinson

NegativeInjury29:24

Suffered a high ankle sprain in the first half after landing awkwardly following a catch inside the five-yard line; reportedly did not get hit but landed crazy after the catch, sidelining him from further action.

Insight page

Denzel Boston

NegativeRole22:03

Boston was silent in the first half against Tampa but showed up in the second half with a back shoulder catch, end zone fade attempt, and a crucial third-quarter dig route catch where he survived a hit, spun away, and scored the tying touchdown; the source notes he'll be discussed in the waiver wire section.

Insight page
PositiveProjection45:50

Denzel Boston leads the team in end zone targets with two through week two, matching Casey Concepcion in targets while averaging 16.5 yards downfield per target. The source ranks him number one on the waiver wire, noting he's getting a heaping of downfield targets where he explodes and has already scored two touchdowns in a wide open target tree with new players around Harold Fannin.

Insight page

Deshaun Watson

PositiveProjection23:03

Watson didn't set records but played a clean game without mistakes, used his legs to get first downs, and put together an awesome game-winning drive with about five minutes left, throwing passes to Boston and check-down passes to Judkins; he led the Browns to victory.

Insight page

Drake London

NegativeUsage32:40

Attempted a jet sweep on fourth-and-one in field goal range but was stuffed; part of the Falcons' offensive struggles under Cooper Rush.

Insight page

Emanuel Wilson

PositiveRole44:58

The source believes Emmanuel Wilson would clearly be the starting running back for Green Bay if the Packers could redo their decision to let him go, given what they saw from the three running backs on Sunday after Jacob's suspension. Wilson is ranked as the source's number three waiver priority.

Insight page

Garrett Wilson

PositiveUsage13:00

Wilson converted a deep dig on third and 11 in the first half; paid off a controlled Jets drive in the late third quarter with a touchdown reception on the perimeter; immediately drew an unsportsmanlike penalty after his touchdown.

Insight page

Geno Smith

NegativeUsage13:00

Smith probably could have thrown an interception on his second possession; got impatient late in the game when it was 17-17, taking a bomb shot to Mitchell that was pretty close.

Insight page

George Kittle

PositiveUsage30:10

Had two scoring plays in the second half against Miami: a huge gain on a fake pitch out where he rumbled for significant yardage, and a red zone touchdown on play action where the Dolphins left him uncovered; demonstrates consistent target opportunity and red zone involvement.

Insight page

Harold Fannin

NegativeRole23:43

Fannin had a drop in the game but finally got involved a little bit; he was part of the Browns' game-winning drive.

Insight page

J.K. Dobbins

NegativeInjury50:52

J.K. Dobbins suffered a hamstring injury in week two. The source notes that if Dobbins is out, Jonah Coleman could be ranked higher than RB3 flex, and suggests spending significant FAB (up to 25) to lock up Coleman as insurance if you have Dobbins, noting 'it's Dobbins he's gonna be out.'

Insight page

Jalen Coker

PositiveRole33:19

Jalen Coker played well in the Panthers-Falcons game and is described as a 'usable fantasy commodity.' He made a notable catch inside the 10-yard line that the source highlights as 'a crazy catch,' demonstrating he can contribute in the passing game alongside other Panthers receivers.

Insight page

Jalin Hyatt

NegativeBust3:43

Hyatt was on the bust list heading into the season due to his draft price; the source observed him drafted late second round and noted that some drafters were lamenting third-round picks on him, suggesting significant disappointment relative to draft capital.

Insight page
PositiveInjury4:00

Hyatt suffered a shoulder injury in Week 2, grabbing his shoulder and appearing to be in extreme pain after taking a target; he returned to the field and ran a full route tree but managed only one catch on four targets for one yard, indicating compromised performance and potential ongoing injury concerns.

Insight page

Jameis Winston

NegativeProjection1:36

With Dart out, Jameis Winston took over as backup and was a mess in Week 2 against the Rams. He started 4 for 12 for 58 yards and an interception, finishing 11 for 27. The source explicitly questions whether having Winston in if Dart misses games is a net positive, answering 'Based on last night, oh boy, no.' Winston dramatically underthrew Malik Neighbors in the end zone for a pick in the mid-second quarter and could not make anything happen.

Insight page

Jayden Reed

PositiveInjury10:10

Reed suffered a headshot on a screen pass early in the Packers-Jets game (second snap) and was ruled out with a neck injury; he was kept overnight in the hospital, which significantly narrowed Jordan Love's target options.

Insight page

Jaylen Wright

PositiveRole27:15

Jalen Wright received two carries when Devon Henry tired in the red zone and the source explicitly states 'very good carries I think he's good I still do.' This suggests Wright has legitimate backup upside behind Henry despite limited opportunity in this game.

Insight page

Jonah Coleman

PositiveProjection50:50

After J.K. Dobbins suffered a hamstring injury in week two and R.G. Harvey was inactive with a midweek hamstring injury, Jonah Coleman out-touched Tyler Bidet 9-to-1 and exploded for the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter. The source ranks him number one on the waiver wire, suggesting he may be a player Sean Payton has been waiting to unleash and could stick around as an RB3 flex or higher if Dobbins and Harvey miss week three against the Rams.

Insight page

Jonathon Brooks

NegativeInjury33:12

Jonathan Brooks suffered a groin injury during the Panthers-Falcons game and was out by the end of the game, creating an opening for Chuba Hubbard to operate as the lead back.

Insight page
NegativeInjury34:40

Suffered a groin injury in Week 2 against Atlanta and was out by the end of the game; this injury likely solidifies Chuba Hubbard's role as the Panthers' lead back.

Insight page

Jordan James

NegativeUsage31:41

Jordan James received carries late in the 49ers-Dolphins blowout when the game was out of reach (trailing 35-6), indicating he only gets work in garbage time rather than meaningful fantasy situations.

Insight page

Jordan Love

NegativeProjection10:10

Love played okay in the Packers' overtime win against the Jets but fumbled during the game (which the Packers recovered); he was running around and making mistakes in what the source characterizes as an undisciplined performance by the team overall.

Insight page

Josh Jacobs

NegativeInjury12:10

Suspension news expected soon; the situation is getting ridiculously close to resolution, making it hard to strongly endorse any of the sluggish Green Bay running backs until clarity emerges.

Insight page

Kaelon Black

NegativeRole30:25

Kalon Black played early in the game but did not play as much as he did in Australia and only when McCaffrey needed a blow. He had 7 carries for 25 yards with 'a lot of running directly into the pile.' The source emphasizes Black is 'a handcuff that if you have McCaffrey you should really have and if you don't have McCaffrey it's fine' and warns against starting him, saying 'when you're starting Kalon Black you're just you're just getting cute and you're asking for problems.'

Insight page

Keenan Allen

PositiveRole59:08

Keenan Allen at 24 percent rostered is mentioned as a waiver option because Alec Pierce is probably not playing again for a while, opening up targets.

Insight page

Kenneth Gainwell

NegativeUsage25:25

Gainwell played only 23 snaps compared to Irving's 48; he got the two-minute drill at the end of the half but Irving was in on the final attempted drive.

Insight page

Kyle Pitts

NegativeUsage32:30

Had a drop on the Falcons' third drive against Atlanta; part of a broader offensive dysfunction under Cooper Rush that resulted in benching and poor performance.

Insight page

Kyren Williams

NegativeUsage2:10

Williams got peanut punched (stripped of the ball) inside his own 10-yard line in Week 2, leading to a Giants recovery and contributing to the Rams' offensive struggles.

Insight page

Malachi Fields

NegativeUsage0:54

Fields caught a really nice pass from Jackson Dart early in the Week 2 Monday Night Game before Dart's injury, showing some early offensive promise before the game fell apart.

Insight page
PositiveRole59:18

Malachi Fields at 18 percent rostered is mentioned as a deep league waiver option after making a really good catch when Jackson Dart was in the game last night.

Insight page

Malik Washington

NegativeUsage28:17

Malik Washington received a deep target from Malik Willis late in the first half, getting a ball thrown down to the 9-yard line, indicating some receiving opportunity in the Dolphins passing game despite overall offensive struggles.

Insight page

Malik Willis

NegativeRole27:30

Malik Willis took over as the Dolphins quarterback during the game and showed mixed results: he made a great escape and threw a great ball to Malik Washington down to the 9-yard line, but also scrambled out of bounds and limited the offense's scoring opportunities in the first half.

Insight page

MarShawn Lloyd

NegativeUsage10:17

Lloyd lost a fumble early in the fourth quarter that gave the Jets a free field goal and a 10-point lead in the Packers-Jets overtime game, a critical turnover in a close contest.

Insight page
NegativeUsage11:28

Lloyd looked juiceless again in Week 2; got stuffed from the five-yard line but scored his first career touchdown on a delayed screen; fumbled in the fourth quarter with the Jets recovering; played 14 snaps.

Insight page

Matthew Golden

NegativeRole10:45

Golden was shut out in the first half but had one big play and two deep shots in the second half where Jets had to tackle him to prevent long touchdowns; with Jaden Reed out, Golden enters deeper consideration, but teams' game plans suggest he wasn't much part of the plan until Green Bay fell way behind—this is the second straight game showing limited early involvement.

Insight page

Michael Penix Jr.

PositiveDepth Chart32:55

Reportedly going to play Thursday night for the Falcons against Green Bay, replacing benched Cooper Rush; expected to provide better offensive performance than Rush's disastrous Week 2 outing.

Insight page

Mike Evans

PositiveUsage30:40

Had a nice scramble drill third down conversion in the first half and a nice catch in the third quarter; showed up in key moments despite the 49ers pulling back on offensive aggression while blowing out Miami.

Insight page

Najee Harris

PositiveUsage2:30

Harris was brought in for two carries in close at the goal line in Week 2 when the Giants had the ball at the opponent's 11-yard line, getting the opportunity over Scadaboo despite Scadaboo being the team's primary back.

Insight page

Nico Collins

NegativeInjury58:58

Nico Collins is expected to miss another game beyond week two, which opens up targets for desperation deep league options like Xavier Hutchinson and Kayshaun Booty.

Insight page

Ollie Gordon II

NegativeUsage28:24

Ollie Gordon received a carry in the red zone but 'did nothing' according to the source, suggesting limited effectiveness and role in the Dolphins backfield behind Devon Henry.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

NegativeRole5:25

The source sarcastically concludes that Puka Nakua's presence in Week 1 'threw off the vibes' in the Rams offense, implying that Nakua's role or usage negatively impacts the overall offensive efficiency and other receivers' opportunities; the source jokingly suggests Nakua should sit out so the Rams can score more touchdowns.

Insight page

Rashod Bateman

PositiveRole57:45

Rashad Bateman is the source's close number six honorable mention while waiting out Zay Flowers' injury. Bateman could see increased targets if Flowers misses another week.

Insight page

RJ Harvey

NegativeInjury50:52

R.G. Harvey was inactive in week two due to a midweek hamstring injury. The source suggests both Dobbins and Harvey could come back, but notes the midweek injury timing is not great and makes you feel like Harvey might miss another game too.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeInjury49:08

Saquon Barkley suffered a shoulder injury, leaving the game on the first carry in week two and returning for only one drive to start the third quarter. This injury is being monitored heading into week three against the Bears.

Insight page

Ted Hurst

NegativeRole24:30

Hurst probably needed to catch a ball in the end zone; the source suggests that if he had caught it, the tone on Mayfield's performance might have been different, but he didn't, contributing to the Buccaneers' loss.

Insight page

Terrance Ferguson

PositiveBreakout6:09

The source expresses strong conviction in Ferguson's long-term potential based on his Week 2 film; he praised Ferguson's movement at his size and noted that if he becomes reliable, it will be because he learns to turn around and track the ball. Despite two instances of not turning around and a deep-corner drop, Ferguson made good plays and scored in the fourth quarter with 6 catches for 54 yards; the source loves him in Dynasty but notes he's not quite ready for redraft yet.

Insight page

Tre Tucker

NegativeRole58:50

Trey Tucker at 29 percent rostered is mentioned as a waiver option that was discussed on Monday's show.

Insight page

Tyrone Tracy

NegativeUsage2:18

Tracy got a carry on first down when the Giants had the ball at the opponent's 11-yard line in Week 2, part of a goal-line sequence that saw multiple backs used instead of focusing on Scadaboo.

Insight page

Will Shipley

NegativeUsage49:28

Will Shipley ran on 57 percent of drop backs and finished with 32 percent of the team's backfield touches in week two, a surprising role expansion compared to last year when Tay Bigsby was the primary and basically only backup. The source prefers Bigsby over Shipley but acknowledges Shipley was okay and got bigger.

Insight page

Xavier Hutchinson

NegativeRole58:58

Xavier Hutchinson is mentioned as a desperation deep league waiver option because Nico Collins is expected to miss another game.

Insight page

Zach Ertz

PositiveRole58:33

Zach Ertz is not expected to benefit from Goddard's absence, suggesting limited upside from the target redistribution.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

NegativeInjury57:45

Zay Flowers could miss another week beyond week two, which would open up additional targets for Rashad Bateman.

0:00It's the Harris Fantasy Football Podcast with your host Christopher Harris.
0:04I think you'll enjoy it since I know you enjoy A.
0:07Football, B. The sound of my voice, and C.
0:10Expressing at least some reservations about the NFL. Anyway, it's a lovely murder mystery.
0:15Serial killer on a football team would be wonderful if you want to listen to Pound Foolish.
0:21We are going to get started with the Monday Night Game, which was shaping up to be a fun two-way test.
0:28Last previewed it on Monday's show. Was the newfound maturity the Giants showed in Week 1 for real?
0:34Could Jackson Dart actually be a grown-up? And then were the Rams about to squander these super-team allegations and pile-drive two of
0:41my flag players into the ground with a mediocre offensive environment?
0:45Unfortunately, we never really got to find out the former.
0:48And in the not finding out of the former, we may have gotten unrealistic expectations for the latter.
0:54As you no doubt are aware, Jackson Dart was leading a pretty good first drive.
0:59He just completed a really nice pass to Malachi Fields.
1:03But then he did one of those leaps in the air to throw a long pass, and he got thwacked on his left knee, and it bent funny.
1:12And he went directly to the turf and rolled around holding the knee and was done for the rest of the game.
1:19It just took the air out of that game because, let's just say, a mature, austere vision of the world is not
1:27what the backup quarterbacks for the New York Giants typically subscribe to.
1:31Cause the safety's gotta wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait for me to take the bait, bait, bait, bait, bait.
1:38And the wacky waving tube arms will inflate and they'll pick it off, pick it off.
1:43That's right. It was the wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man Jameis Winston.
1:48Remember that one game in Detroit last year when Dart was out with a concussion?
1:53Sure, why can't he do that again? And I'll tell you why.
1:57Cause he was a damn mess in this game.
2:00And it is like Patrick Doherty said on Monday's show, sometimes the guy who doesn't expect to play when the starter gets
2:07hurt, maybe he's not ready mentally and maybe it'll be better going forward when he knows he's gonna start.
2:13But I ask you, are you betting on that?
2:16If Dart misses games, and I would say there's a pretty good chance he misses games, do we think that's a net
2:24positive to have Jameis Winston in there? Based on last night, oh boy, no.
2:28Mid-second quarter, an okay drive, but he looks for Malik Neighbors in the end zone and dramatically underthrows it for a pick.
2:36Winston started that game 4 for 12 for 58 yards and an interception, ends up 11 for 27.
2:42And the Rams handed him the ball a couple of times.
2:45One play after Jameis was picked, Stat Padford threw a deep ball into double coverage and was intercepted himself.
2:52And the first play after the subsequent punt, Kyron Williams got peanut punched inside his own 10, and the Giants recovered.
2:59And yet, Jameis just could not make anything happen last night.
3:03And by the way, if you have this guy and you get the ball at the opponent's 11, why are you not using him?
3:11We're talking Scadaboo. First down, Tyrone Tracy gets a carry.
3:14Second down, they do bring in Scadaboo and he gets stuffed.
3:18And then they bring in Najee Harris for two carries in close.
3:22That is brutal. That is rough. That goes beyond Jackson Dart.
3:25What are they doing? Did Scadaboo hit on Harbaugh's daughter or something?
3:29Not exactly what you're looking for from the particle accelerator Cam Scadaboo.
3:33And I don't have an explanation for why. They're not just handing it to him when they're close to the end zone, but I'm going to remember it.
3:43And Neighbors, he was on the bust list this year because his price by the end of draft season.
3:49I don't know. I saw some people saying, I'm lamenting my third round pick.
3:54I saw him going late second round. Certainly an extended dart absence will make that unfair to evaluate.
4:00But also, Neighbors gets a target, grabs his shoulder, looks like he's in extreme pain.
4:05He was back out there again though and ran a full accompaniment of routes and got four targets, one catch, one yard.
4:12Not a very good look. And it just does make you realize that when they have major injuries, they're recovering from other
4:19stuff can go wrong because they're just not fully in shape that they need to be.
4:25So that's why we weren't taking Neighbors. But it can get better and the Giants get to play the Titans next week who are not very good.
4:34And I really have seen Winston have good moments as a fill-in.
4:38But yeah, serene and controlled, he ain't. As for the Rams, there was no Puka Nakua in this game and that certainly
4:45opened up some space for Devontae Adams in the game plan.
4:49Eight catches, you say to yourself, I mean, eight catches isn't that much.
4:53195 yards and two touchdowns. The first score was amazing.
4:57A slightly overthrown ball from Stafford and Adams climbs the ladder to go get it and keeps his feet and scores.
5:04Next series, Stafford audibles to a bomb, hangs in the pocket while Adams runs an out and up for a 64-yard gain,
5:11which set up flag player to flag player, a touchdown pass to Kyron Williams.
5:16Right before halftime, Adams made an even more incredible catch for 27 yards to set up a field goal, which they missed.
5:23So it was only 14-3 at the half. In the second half, Adams would have an insane toe tap followed by a
5:30great bounce outside run from Williams and then another insane Adams catch on a fade route to the end zone.
5:37It's 21-3. The Giants were missing pieces in their secondary and it's just not a fair test of an offensive environment when
5:44it becomes pretty clear that they don't have... the other team isn't going to score, you know?
5:50So, I don't know. It should go without saying.
5:53Slightly better results from Week 1 against the 49ers, which brings me to the conclusion it is obviously Puka Nakua who threw off the vibes in Week 1.
6:02And next week in Denver, Puka should just sit out and we'll get four more touchdown passes from Matt Stafford.
6:09The only thing to say here, other than what I've said about the Rams, is Terrence Ferguson.
6:15If you watch that game, I think you probably understand why I really liked his very limited film last year.
6:21You can see how well he moves at his size and someday, if he does become a good and reliable player, someone
6:29will have taught him to turn the hell around because the ball might be coming.
6:34That happened to him twice on Monday night and then also he had a really bad drop on a deep corner route,
6:41but also made really good plays, scored in the fourth quarter, did six for 54, really love Terrence Ferguson in Dynasty, probably not quite there yet in redraft.
6:51I do think he's going to be a really good player.
6:54Today's kickoff. Okay, on today's show, let's keep that going.
6:58Let's see if we can make your fantasy teams better or just give you insights into the NFL and the games that we just saw.
7:06We have five more games from Sunday that we haven't talked about and given you our visual impressions of.
7:12If you don't hear the game you're interested in, it means we talked about it on Monday's podcast.
7:18Would recommend giving that one a listen to today.
7:21We will have the Packers and Jets, Commanders Cowboys, Browns Buccaneers, 49ers Dolphins, and Panthers Falcons.
7:27And then it's time to start thinking about next week and to begin that process.
7:32It'll be our week three waiver wire for which my guest will be John Daigle from Establish the Run.
7:38I think you'll have fun. I thank you again so much for listening today.
7:43We are sponsored by Lisa. That's the bed I sleep on.
7:46I love my bed. I tell anyone who asks about Lisa.
7:50And I know it might not be time in your household just yet for a new mattress, but if it is, when
7:57it is, I think you'll have a really good experience with Lisa like I have.
8:02I've been sleeping on a Lisa mattress for more than a decade.
8:06You know I am a bi-coastal elite Lisa sleeper.
8:09You can take a mattress quiz at the website and find out which model and feel is perfect for you.
8:16They ship it direct to your door, and then you get four months to sleep on it.
8:22And if it's not perfect, they will refund you and come pick it up.
8:26And I just like to remind you, a very good company, American made, a stellar environmental track record, including the materials in the bed.
8:34And they donate thousands of mattresses to families in need.
8:38And right now, it is still their Labor Day extended sale.
8:42If you go to leesa.com, you'll get 25% off select mattresses, plus enter the code HARRIS, and you'll get another $50 off.
8:49That's 25% off at lisa.com. And for another $50 off, use that code HARRIS.
8:54What does the film say? The overtime win by the Packers over the Jets.
8:58You want to tell me the ball was wet in that game?
9:02I believe it. There were a bunch of fumbles all over the place, both teams, including back-to-back fumbles by the Packers in
9:10the second quarter, won by Caleb Johnson, who did in fact play, and won by Tucker Craft, both recovered by the Packers.
9:17And then early fourth quarter, Marshawn Lloyd loses a fumble to give the Jets a free field goal and a 10-point lead.
9:24And Jordan Love had kind of been running around like a dummy, and he fumbled, but the Packers recovered that one too.
9:32But I assume you're not blaming the rain for penalties.
9:35And the penalties in this game were just stupid and undisciplined for two teams, I suspect, aren't going to win the Super Bowl.
9:4333 penalties in this game, seven on special teams alone, each team called for unsportsmanlike when he'd just done something good, two
9:50apiece for unnecessary roughness, including the crucial play in overtime when the Jets hit Chris Brooks out of bounds.
9:56Just two incredibly undisciplined teams, I would say. I guess maybe that's understandable when you're the scrappy Jets fighting for respect.
10:03I don't know what the Packers' excuse is other than maybe, I don't know, frustration.
10:08We're not as good as we thought we were.
10:11I think Jordan Love played okay. He lost Jaden Reed on the second snap of the game when he got a headshot
10:19on a screen pass and he was out, hurt his neck, I guess, although I think they're changing what that report says.
10:26He was kept overnight in the hospital. That narrowed down the targets.
10:30Christian Watson, we're always starting so far, he would make a big play early second quarter, then kind of disappear for a long time.
10:38He reappeared inside the Jets' five when it was 17-7 Jets and caught a play-action slant for a touchdown.
10:45Matthew Golden was shut out in the first half, but in the second half, he had one pretty big play and he
10:52also had two deep shots where the Jets kind of had to tackle him for fear of a long touchdown.
10:59With Jaden Reed out, Golden certainly enters the realm of deeper consideration, but I do think teams tell you what they think
11:06of their guys, and this is two straight games in which Golden wasn't much part of the plan until Green Bay fell way behind.
11:14As for the running backs, well, there are three of them and they all have bodies, that's what I can tell you.
11:21Caleb Johnson did play. He was the third man in.
11:25He'll come up at some point, I'm sure, in waivers later.
11:28He was the one who had success first. Marshawn Lloyd looked kind of juiceless again.
11:33Johnson, last play of the first quarter, got some room up the middle for a 13-yard gain.
11:39He at least has some obvious power that he can show.
11:43In the red zone, though, they put Lloyd back in.
11:46He got stuff from the five, but then they ran a little delayed screen to him and he scored his first career touchdown.
11:54Second quarter, Caleb Johnson fumbled, but that's when Jordan Love recovered it.
11:58Fourth quarter, I mentioned Lloyd fumbled and the Jets recovered it.
12:01And then it's 17-14 and the Jets punt and Sky Moore kind of saves Green Bay's bacon with a long punt return down to inside the 20.
12:10And it's Chris Brooks on that series, but they can't move it.
12:14They kick the field goal, sends it to overtime, and Brooks is in for the few offensive plays Green Bay had in overtime.
12:22Gets hit out of bounds and the winning field goal was a chip shot.
12:27Brooks played 22 snaps, Lloyd played 14, and Johnson played 14.
12:30Maybe this is the week we get some word about a Josh Jacobs suspension.
12:35That whole thing is getting ridiculously close to Pound Foolish.
12:39Talk about life imitating art with a Green Bay running back doing bad things.
12:43When I wrote that, that was two years ago.
12:46But yeah, check out Pound Foolish for what happens next.
12:50Until then, hard to strongly endorse any of those sluggish Green Bay running backs.
12:54For the Jets, I don't think they had a first down in the first quarter except maybe by penalty.
13:01Geno Smith probably could have thrown an interception on his second possession.
13:05There's a third and 11 where Garrett Wilson converts a deep dig and then A.D.
13:10Mitchell draws a long interference down to the red zone and then Mitchell has a catch inside the five.
13:16Good first half for him. I believe five catches at halftime.
13:20And that series, rather annoyingly, Braylon Allen had been given that series and he's the one who got to punch in the
13:27touchdown that made it 7-7 which was the score at half.
13:31Late third quarter, finding nothing up the gut, the Jets launched a really controlled drive getting work done more on the perimeter
13:38like in the screen game or short passing or outside zone.
13:42And Garrett Wilson pays it off and immediately gets an unsportsmanlike after his touchdown.
13:46Brees Hall finally got to show off a little on the final play of the third quarter.
13:52A third and long where Hall should probably get like four yards but he makes a crazy cut and accelerates up through
13:59the defense, turns nothing into 42 yards. But when it was 17-17, Geno got impatient.
14:04He took a bomb shot to Mitchell which was pretty close and then it's fourth and one at midfield and they try
14:12Braylon Allen and he gets stuffed and they go to overtime and Geno gets bull rushed for two sacks in OT and
14:19then they false start because every series was federally mandated to have a penalty and that gave up the field position that
14:26led Green Bay to the winning score. The Jets haven't stunk these two weeks.
14:31The offense is more modest in its ambitions than a Geno Smith offense usually is.
14:36We're not talking about a place where we're likely to find a ton of ancillary pieces we want to use but you
14:44can file away and we will talk about in waivers.
14:47Adonai Mitchell was involved early and often. Does look like a decent, deeper compliment to Garrett Wilson.
14:53Let's talk about the true bummer game or at least one of them.
14:57The Bobby Three Sticks game. The commander's hopes are dashed after such a good first half a 17-10 game.
15:03The commanders were at the Dallas 1. They decided they needed a touchdown with three seconds left in the half.
15:10A half which had Daniels making real magic. 70 rushing yards all on scrambles none on called runs.
15:16He had screwed up a red zone pitch out to Jakori Kroski Merritt killing a drive and causing a field goal but
15:23had kept going had looked really good leading them to one touchdown and then we fast forward to that play with three seconds left in the half.
15:32The commanders do go for it. Daniels gets stepped on retreating from under center and falls crazy on his arm once again
15:40and then in trying to get up he's getting tackled and tries to pitch it out and his left arm just bends
15:47the wrong way just like it did last year.
15:50A very gross video if you've seen it. It is dislocated.
15:54They say he didn't break any bones but of course he was out for the game and of course he'll be out for multiple weeks.
16:02It is an RG3 type situation. The dude is just so electric but so snakebitten and it just of course is going
16:09to make the Washington offense tougher to trust with Marcus Mariota at the helm.
16:14Mariota led a couple of good drives in the second half but the caveat was that it was against the Dallas defense which I think is pretty bad.
16:24Observations from the rest of the commanders. Terry McLaurin was also really snakebitten early in the game on a third and 18.
16:31McLaurin ran a deep seven stop to convert but later in the first half it's a double covered deep shot that Daniels
16:38throws anyway and McLaurin initially was ruled to make an incredible touchdown catch but it was overturned on replay correctly I would say.
16:46On that last drive of the first half McLaurin got another end zone target that was a little too high.
16:53First drive of the third quarter McLaurin had another big gain then they ran a trick play and it worked and the
17:00rookie Antonio Williams had Terry McLaurin wide open for a touchdown and no joke underthrew it by 10 yards.
17:06It actually should have been a big Terry McLaurin game where have we heard that before and now of course with Mariota
17:14expectations do have to be reined in. This guy scored again twice.
17:18No victory laps first Von Diggs he was a flag player because we were drafting him as a bench option and I
17:25think with Mariota in charge it's going to be hard to trust him as more than a fantasy bench option but Diggs
17:32scored from the three yard line in the first half and then you know his corner route touchdown was nice but Washington was losing 30-13 at the time.
17:42The backfield is interesting although you know much not really interesting to use but just to talk about because of the far
17:49lesser quarterback at the helm but the commanders really have a thing for Ja'Cory Krosky Merritt that to my eye simply is
17:56not warranted by what he puts out there on the field.
18:00JCM started he had most of the early down work early in the game but then late second quarter they weren't really
18:07even in hurry up and the commanders basically gave a series to Rashad White and I think you know I have a
18:15pretty unvarnished history of not being a huge Rashad White fan there's just no question who had more juice among those two
18:22running backs White was good on that drive back to back probably the best commanders carries of the day that led to
18:30Diggs' first touchdown and was really good in that two minute drill at the end of the half also and yet it's
18:37not a Krosky meritocracy to begin the third quarter JCM right back out there again the snap count does go 36 white
18:4423 JCM touches were even at 1313 but more carries for JCM which just did not feel earned to me and of
18:52course the larger point is not loving anyone in a split backfield that plays behind Marcus Mariota the Cowboys alleviated some concerns
18:59about the offensive environment I mean they put up 37 points so they aren't going to be a bad offense but then
19:06again ask the folks who have Javante Williams and George Pickens about that performance it's a frustrating day for the Dallas running
19:14game Javante gets up to 50 scrimmage yards Pickens does 40 so I mean you're using them but I don't think you're
19:21calling it a super elite offensive environment right now Jake Ferguson scores once when the commanders forgot to cover him and then
19:28again TD Lamb scored twice he was great second touchdown came in after an absolute mortar shot of a pass from Prescott
19:36who was very good Dak Prescott was Lamb over Pickens pretty clearly after a couple weeks the inability of the offense to
19:43do anything but that and not have you know the bunch of guys that are going to benefit from an elite environment
19:50yeah I mean they tried to commit to running they did they weren't giving up on it there's just kind of nothing
19:58there Williams got one carry inside the five in this game and was stuffed Cowboys Ravens in Brazil of all places next
20:05week a harder test for the many weapons folks want to use on that Cowboy offense we are sponsored by DraftKings the
20:12football season definitely heating up and every week feels bigger with DraftKings because DraftKings is now live in all 50 states one
20:20app all the football nationwide it's been great in California and actually being able to find something I can play on the
20:27app for instance the Monday night game last night even if they don't do straight point spreads here they do have like
20:35prediction markets you can it's really cool if you've never checked it out if you've never been able to play on DraftKings
20:42I really recommend checking it out and if involves risk risk of loss availability varies predictions offer void in New York bet
20:49to get bonus bets that expire in seven days trade to get predictions dollars that expire in one year $50 in rewards
20:57issued every seven days via click to claim for 14 days one non-withdrawable reward redeemable terms at dkng.co slash offer limited time
21:04offer nationwide based on sportsbook predictions and free to play sports contest availability varies by state in America here comes the Cleveland
21:11Browns the Browns here they come they win in Tampa I think we suspect the Buccaneers are not very good but maybe
21:19the Browns possibly not as bad as we feared coming out of week two maybe we don't say all their players are
21:26all completely hands off although none are likely to be ranked as elite options one pattern that did recur from the Jags
21:33game from week one was Casey Concepcion as the obvious focal point coming out of the locker room to start the game
21:41he had a catch and a sweep on the first two plays of that game and five other catches in the contest
21:48but nothing that wasn't kind of like a sideline swing pass and nothing that he broke into the clear though I think
21:55we should take note of the early game preference and maybe at some point he starts breaking those plays but super horizontal
22:03stuff isn't that exciting Denzel Boston dead silent in the first half in Tampa but then with Cleveland losing by 10 in
22:10the third quarter a really good catch on a back shoulder throw followed by an end zone fade that he almost caught
22:18then late third quarter trailing by a touchdown kind of a nothing dig route in the middle of the field that he
22:25caught and the defender tried to blow up Denzel Boston and he survived the hit and spun away and housed it for
22:32the tying touchdown and yeah I think we're gonna talk about him when we get to waivers a little bit the running
22:40up the middle for the Browns still a disaster and Quinchan Judkins definitely its victim but the good news if you find
22:47yourself with Quinchan Judkins on a fantasy team is that Cleveland did seem to understand at some point in that game okay
22:54we're trying to run up the middle it's not happening and then turn to the screen game and that was kind of
23:02the quote unquote extension of the run and it kind of worked and Judkins throws in five catches so it's about 50
23:09scrimmage yards I'm not trying to sell you as good no but it would have been worse if he'd only been running
23:16up the middle as he was on a fourth and one on their own 35 when Judkins was utterly stopped which led
23:24to a field goal that gave Tampa the lead and Deshaun Watson didn't set any records for some kind of awesome aggressive
23:31day but Deshaun Watson also didn't make any mistakes used his legs to get first downs put together an awesome game winning
23:38drive with about five minutes left throwing passes to Boston and check down passes to Judkins Harold Fannin the wonk had a
23:46drop in this game but he did finally get involved a little bit and then it was a misdirection throw to Blake
23:53Whitehart that won the game but the reason the Browns could win it was that Baker Mayfield was busy losing it he
24:00was bad again Sunday they kicked a couple field goals early the third drive the Baker Mayfield blues implosion still don't have
24:08a sound drop for that who sings like muddy waters these days Mayfield has a good third down scramble but then got
24:15confused about coverage and threw one directly to a Cleveland defender mostly it was missed opportunities Mayfield had nine attempts of 20
24:23plus air yards many of them one-on-one where he was just trying to give his guy a chance to make a play
24:30and he he just airmailed a lot of them I'll grant you Ted Hurst probably needs to catch that ball in the
24:37end zone and then maybe I'm not I'm not so mad and I'm singing a different tune but he didn't and the
24:45Bucks lose and I thought that was largely on Mayfield a Mecca Abuka got really shut down by Denzel Ward to the
24:52point where Mayfield was barely even looking at him and Chris Godwin had a bigger day but on a scramble drill in
24:59the third quarter thankfully Abuka did get loose and score a touchdown to salvage his day in the backfield Bucky Irving great
25:07stuff almost never goes down on first contact for such a small guy second drive he made a great cut to make
25:14someone miss in the open field gained 40 yards early in the third he had an awesome cutback when he was like
25:21supposed to go right and it was bottled up he jumped like three holes to the left and and yeah he doesn't
25:29score but he does play 48 snaps to 23 for Kenneth Gainwell Gainwell did get the two-minute drill at the end of
25:36the half but it was Irving in there on the final attempted drive it started raining Irving was partly responsible for getting
25:43them pretty close but in the end they needed four points and ran out of time the Niners an easy win over
25:51the Dolphins that was the oldest team in the NFL against the youngest team a pretty good first half competitive I talked
25:58about the Cardinals hanging in against the Seahawks on yesterday's show this wasn't quite like that it was 14 to six at
26:06the half not seven seven but Miami did move the ball in the first half with a few good drives Devon HN
26:13had 14 carries in the first half he's the only guy you're starting on that team but they again didn't look to
26:20me like the worst team in the league not good they miss a 51 yard field goal on the first drive HN
26:28had a jump cut on the second drive to find a huge rushing lane and a great move on a third down
26:35catch to convert a third and long and they got to the red zone and HN was tired so Jalen Wright got
26:42two carries very good carries I think he's good I still do doesn't matter but I do that's when Malik Willis started
26:50running around and scrambling and running out of bounds so they only get a field goal then three minutes left in the
26:57first half Willis made a great escape and threw a great ball to Malik Washington down to the 9 or 20 they
27:04gave Ollie Gordon a carry in that series he did nothing Caleb Douglas did get a catch for a first down inside
27:12the 10 before he wound up getting hurt at the end of that game but HN got stuffed a few times and
27:19they had to kick another field goal at the end of the half late third quarter they fumble away a punt the
27:26only thing of note from the second half was three minutes left in Basura time trailing 35 to 6 Willis throws a
27:34bomb to quote unquote Ryan Miller who I thought was a retired hockey goalie that was a meaningless long touchdown I had
27:41last people last week yelling at me like shouldn't you have Caleb Douglas higher I think the answer is probably no I
27:48don't know what's going to happen but this does not look like a place that's going to support reliable receiver production like
27:56Pat Doherty said on Monday's show though even the Dolphins have someone you can use every week but that's Devon HN only
28:03the Niners I believe the posterior horseshoe Brock Purdy had one in completion during the competitive portion of this game and that
28:11was a drop by Debo Samuel on the first drive trustable guys here pretty darn trustable Christian McCaffrey somehow overcame his tiny
28:18bones to score twice on the goal line although he did get stuffed a couple times to the coconut D boney actually
28:25had a carry as a running back inside the 30 Kalon Black he was someone else people were really mad at me
28:33about I don't know they were asking flex questions I got some I got some angry tweets I think when you're starting
28:40Kalon Black you're just you're just getting cute and you're asking for problems Black played in this game right away on the
28:47first series but did not overall play as much as he did in Australia and really only when McCaffrey needed a blow
28:55the Jordan James carries you'll see in the box score all came with Mac Jones playing Black only does seven for 25
29:02a lot of running directly into the pile I think Kalon Black is a handcuff that if you have McCaffrey you should
29:09really have and if you don't have McCaffrey it's fine once the bye weeks start working because he's got some upside if
29:17they start blowing someone out but the way I tend to play fantasy is not to look at the point spread and
29:24assume oh you know they're gonna be killing them so that guy's gonna get some carries in the fourth quarter because if
29:31it's that much of a blowout then the third stringer comes in as Jordan James did the only bad news here was
29:39Demarcus Robinson from the 49ers had a couple of short catches in the first half later on made a catch inside the
29:46five but he hurt himself like I don't think he actually got hit he just landed crazy after the catch reportedly suffered
29:54a high ankle sprain so he's out which feels like it provides a guy like Debo Samuel that much more security the
30:01other candidates to run routes there are Jacob Cowing and Kaderil Hodge neither of whom for me are gonna show up on
30:08waivers you got two plays for George Kittle in the second half including the first play of the second half where the
30:16Dolphins tried the avant-garde move of absolutely not covering him one on a fake pitch out where Kittle rumbled for a huge
30:23gain and then a couple plays later with Kalon Black playing in the red zone they go play action everybody jumps and
30:30once again Kittle doing the jazz hands by himself for a touchdown Mike Evans had a nice scramble drill third down conversion
30:38in the first half and a nice catch in the third quarter but the Niners obviously pulled the air brakes while blowing
30:45the Dolphins out next week home Cardinals probably not a great opponent but I do think so far better than Miami and
30:52lastly a game so boring Fox decided to switch the audio to different games while the action was still playing the Panthers
31:00go to Atlanta and humiliate the Falcons the other entertaining thing in this game was dusting off Tim Brando and Matt Millen
31:07to do the games like it was 1994 Matt Millen quite possibly the worst executive in the history of pro sports you
31:14always got a job when Fox needs whatever an 11th broadcast crew Matt and Millen is almost 70 he doesn't really want
31:22to be there and my dream announcing crew would be Al Michaels at 81 years old and Matt Millen at 68 because
31:29they both freak the hell out when a flag gets thrown Al you've heard every Thursday night can't stand it loses his
31:36mind when it's a penalty and in this game every time there was a flag while Brando who is 70 himself was
31:44still making the call Millen would mutter under his breath flag flag flag on the play flag truly entertaining audio in this
31:51game and not that much to talk about otherwise throw the entire Falcons part of it into the trash because Cooper Rush
31:59will never play again he was so bad first play from scrimmage he runs a naked boot for 10 yards and loses
32:06a fumble second drive a deflected interception third drive ends on a Kyle Pitts drop fourth drive they have a fourth and
32:13one in field goal range they try a Drake London jet sweep and he's stuffed Kevin Stefanski so far I don't know
32:21I mean Michael Penix is reportedly going to play Thursday night that's going to be better but Stefanski so far looking like
32:28a real one and done get ready to speak Pete Carroll buddy the Falcons fans had had enough by the end of
32:35the second quarter and were booing lustily Rush should have thrown a pick late second quarter and then he did throw one
32:43horribly in the third he was benched London sat to Jack Strand came in and did not rescue them and we're told
32:50that it's Penix in Green Bay on Thursday night the Panthers another good offensive day Bryce Young really good Chuba Hubbard you
32:57know like what's a starting running back in the NFL anymore that's a great question Harris I mean he is one I
33:05think as close as we get right now in the league Jonathan Brooks actually hurts his groin in this game and was
33:12out by the end so Chuba catches a touchdown on the first series both Jalen Coker and Tedderall McMillan played well here
33:19and kind of look like usable fantasy commodities right now I don't think the Falcons defense stinks although as I said off
33:27the top of the show between Rams Giants when the opposing offense just obviously isn't going to score points and there just
33:34is not pressure on you as a quarterback it does make it so much easier see also Drake May finishing second in
33:41the MVP last year like it did help Bryce Young to probably feel not tons of pressure but for whatever it's worth
33:49both receivers are starting to look usable for fantasy McMillan had two big ones in a row in the second quarter when
33:56Young really threw nice balls daggers into tight coverage and then on the same drive Coker said anything you can do I
34:04can do better I hope you see that 30 seconds left in the I think before that because Lee get had the
34:11catch right at the beginning right at the end of the second quarter but watch the Coker highlight that was a crazy
34:18catch inside the 10-yard line and then the Lee get catch led to a Darren Waller touchdown McMillan had an incredible deep
34:26shot catch for 30 yards early third quarter then Waller scored his second touchdown and of course that's when they pull the
34:33ripcord I don't think they've faced like an awesome defense yet but they go to Cleveland next week so I don't think
34:40they're gonna face an awesome defense next week either and Chuber is a really good story and I'm not ever gonna claim
34:48credit for it but it does make me feel good because to see him play well and to realize that not playing
34:55well last year just feels very clearly now like it was about injury I don't feel quite as bad about my evaluation
35:02he's a really good player I think if you wound up with him on a team and Brooks is hurt I think
35:10you're gonna be pretty happy with Chuba Hubbard we are sponsored by Trust and Will I have used Trust and Will to

36:23course huge Harry Potter fan only in so far as he knows a few of the characters names not me I don't
36:31I don't know any of them I it's Hermione is that a person is that a person John in the you're actually
36:38ahead of the game I didn't even know you realized her yeah okay good I mean it's funny that the song extols
36:45you as a huge Harry Potter fan when you're not but whatever more than me you can find John on Twitter at
36:53not Jay Daigle you can read him and hear him and all the things you need to do at establish the run
37:00and I mean it's the he's a waiver guy he's lucky to get him for this show because he writes the waiver
37:07column for establish the run dot com so you're getting an insight into how he thinks about this stuff and I would
37:15say you know compared to week one I hope people didn't burn all their fab because we're gonna tell them about some
37:22guys we actually do want to add I think based on what you most likely talked about in your show in week
37:29one my outlook of it at establish the run as well I would imagine we both suggested to not spend all your
37:37fab in week one given how bare that waiver wire was but there are a lot of exciting additions this week yeah
37:44at least with with possibility I can't tell you that I'm positive any of them are like amazing players although they could
37:52be there are some young guys on there who are eligible but agreed there's there's just more injuries more holes in lineups
37:59so we will talk about them did you is there so my rule of course as you know is when we don't
38:06talk about players rostered in more than one third of Yahoo leagues is there anybody in a very shallow league that you
38:14know somebody's in a 10 team league and you've got guys on the waivers who are 50% or even more owned but
38:21they're available in their leagues was there anybody that you're like yeah even in a very shallow league names that you won't
38:28mention on the main list that you wanted to mention up top a very shallow league week two or I'm sorry week
38:36three now is more about going back and looking who was dropped based on past performances so the three names that come
38:43to mind that could be that could be out there are still Devon Vele we've now seen be the Saints number two
38:50at Saints team that is a two-point conversion away from being two and oh against the Lions and Ravens on the road
38:58pretty impressive what Kellen Moore is doing there and then I'll also mention Makai Lemon given that Dallas Goddard is now going
39:05to be out a few games and they do not have a tight end that would then funnel those targets to I'm
39:12just expecting either a route tree change or maybe just more opportunity for a first-round player and then Khalil Shakir as well
39:20given the DJ more injury and upcoming potential shootout against the Chargers yeah do we have we heard anything I have I
39:27was like in the submarine I don't really like pay attention too much for about 30 hours while I'm watching all the
39:35games have we heard anything about Moore's injury yet no I would say DJ Moore and Saquon Barkley and Jadarian Price those
39:42are the three biggest injuries we're watching ahead of week three yeah interesting all right well so don't crash your car everybody
39:49because I'll put all these names that we mentioned in this segment in today's show notes so don't have to scramble them
39:57write them down put them in your text file while you're driving please don't do that we will have them available for
40:04you John as you're aware because you've been doing this show many years when you add somebody you do have to drop
40:11somebody and when you drop somebody we give them the Thursday boot because this get this is of course sponsored by Thursday
40:19boots.com get yourself a nice pair of boots get ready for fall get ready for winter you're never gonna go wrong with
40:26Thursday boots I have pairs that are like no joke they've been sponsoring for 10 years so I have pairs that are
40:3310 years old and they hold up great they're the comfort of a work boot the kind of durability of a work
40:41boot but the look of a fashion boot they're really really great they actually have sneakers now I just got a pair
40:48of Thursday boot sneakers they really look good so Thursday boots.com we do appreciate how long they've sponsored we're gonna count these
40:55down five through one and we will give some fab advice at the end who's your number five waiver ad for this
41:03list of people who are owned in a third of Yahoo leagues or less I usually don't suggest a tight end because
41:10they are very streamable based on matchups on waivers weekly and whether he be streamable or a potential starter for the rest
41:17of the season we're going to find out with a Rondé Gadsden for the Chargers because after this past game both Charlie
41:25Kolar and David Njoku put on injured reserve we had now have this month runway for Gadsden who we did see have
41:32a little bit of success last year it was a month window we could use him and also it's just the fact
41:40that he's not a blocking tight end thus he has to be out there running routes and catching passes I'm not giving
41:47up on the Chargers after week two just yet have they looked like I should give up on them yes absolutely but
41:54I'm not doing that just yet so I'm still latching on to pieces here and Gadsden's one of them my number four
42:02waiver ad for week three is a Rondé Gadsden at six percent rostered we shared a feeling on that one you know
42:09that story changed quick and and it's funny the Chargers were pretty honest about it or at least their beat reporters got
42:16the idea from somebody that remember when you thought Rondé Gadsden was good for like three quarters of a year last year
42:24and then okay he disappointed you at the end but remember when you thought he was good he was an ascending player
42:31yeah forget all that new offensive coordinator hates him doesn't want to use him just a weird like they got to try
42:38something different I don't know that I'm ready to use Gadsden right away but I don't think he has as nearly as
42:46much competition so yeah he's number four on my list who's your number four now I'm number four is Seahawks running back
42:53Emmanuel Wilson like we talked about we were waiting to see the actual diagnosis and timeline on rookie Jadarian Price's shoulder injury
43:00suffered on Sunday and whenever coach Mike McDonald was asked about it he said quote it's intact I believe not sure what
43:08that actually means but ominously it doesn't sound great that he's hoping that it's intact so at least in the short term
43:15it seems like Emmanuel Wilson who came off the bench once Price was injured out touched George Holani a career special teamer
43:23and and satellite receiving back 14 to 4 for the rest of the game seems like Wilson this is going to be
43:30his backfield in the interim so a player that if you're desperate already you can plug in he has my number three
43:37I realized I forgot my number five so we'll get to him in a second but my number three is Emmanuel Wilson
43:45he's 1% rostered that's another one in I didn't put this together when I put when I put together my list but
43:52it's another one where the picture did significantly change from what we expected this summer if you think about it okay so
43:59they draft Price and they're of course talking pretty about Zach Charbonnet but you know I think the fantasy world did do
44:07a pretty good job of sniffing out that level of BS when it came to Charbonnet and they spent not a huge
44:14obvious backup money but they spent money on Emmanuel Wilson to get him as a free agent they very clearly did that
44:21with the idea of pairing him with somebody that's why you do it and then I guess just whatever like all through
44:29August you know suddenly it became kind of known that George Holani was ahead of Emmanuel Wilson on the depth chart and
44:36in week one that's absolutely against the Patriots what it looked like and you're like okay I guess all those assumptions I
44:43made about Emmanuel Wilson maybe being a smart clever 14th round pick were completely wrong and then week two Price gets hurt
44:51and what do we see Emmanuel Wilson takes over so something happened between week one and week two I would definitely be
44:58adding Wilson over George Holani I like you I'm not positive that Price misses time I like you I'm not positive Emmanuel
45:05Wilson has the backfield to himself because he probably doesn't I like you I'm not positive Emmanuel Wilson is great at football
45:13but riddle me this do you think the Packers would like to have retained Emmanuel Wilson at this point after seeing the
45:20three guys on Sunday I believe so yeah yeah I mean I think that was they didn't know that Jacob's suspension was
45:28coming of course I'm not I can't in retrospect get mad at them for it but if they could do it over
45:35of course Emmanuel Wilson would very clearly be the starting running back for Green Bay so he is indeed my number three
45:42I put for my number five and and you're gonna stop me if you have him on your list but he might
45:50be an honorable mention not being in your top five but I put Denzel Boston 33% rostered at number five did he
45:57make your list he's actually my number one overall okay talk about him so we're right there after week one we could
46:04have said okay Denzel Boston had one fewer target than Casey Concepcion who was drafted a day before around higher but he
46:12scored a touchdown so we're watching we're monitoring Boston here and this wide open target tree with new players around Harold Fannin
46:19but we're not quite sure yet but now we look back after week two he he leads the team in end zone
46:26targets with two of them he's clearly their downfield threat in not only matching Concepcion and targets but also in matching him
46:34with targets it also comes for Boston 16 and a half yard downfield on average so he's not just like the chase
46:41clay pool get downfield we'll give you two shots per game and it's volatile and unusable fantasy he's getting a heaping of
46:48targets all downfield where he explodes and scored two touchdowns already so I like Denzel Boston in a wide open target tree
46:56so he makes your number one and we'll talk about what we should spend on our top options here momentarily we didn't
47:03actually wind up with the same number one the reason he was number five for me I just reviewed that film yesterday
47:10and and talked about it earlier on today's show so the folks have just heard me give my opinion who am I
47:18gonna have rated higher I mean that's not the question I'll ask it as a question to you because the because Casey
47:25Concepcion not eligible for this list the Browns clearly through two games each game have come out like let's get the ball
47:33in Concepcion's hands let's do it come on and then they stay kind of variably committed to it as the game goes
47:40along so you wouldn't say he's the number one weapon no matter what but there does seem to be a preference earlier
47:47in the game toward Concepcion so like if you were if you had both Browns receivers available who do you think you'd
47:55be likelier to start over the other one say just in week three it's still Concepcion it's easier targets over the intermediate
48:02level of the field plus some carries per week as well yeah they started out with a like I said with a
48:09catch and a carry right to start the game um and that's probably why Boston is five on my list so but
48:17I'm not mad at you kind of like taking like unlike I'm putting Emmanuel Wilson ahead of him but unlike Emmanuel Wilson
48:24Denzel Boston actually might be a really good pro at some point in his career Emmanuel Wilson probably we know what he
48:31is and he's good good physical backup type running back so I get why you're taking the the bigger stab than I
48:39am at at Boston he's worth considering on waivers for sure I'll hold the thought on him about fab and we'll get
48:46there eventually I think we are now at your I'm writing them down so that they'll be in the show notes we're
48:53at your number three we are and I broke the rules and I just have a combo of guys I have a
49:01couple here to talk about and it's all because Saquon Barkley another injury we're monitoring shoulder left the game on the first
49:08carry in week two came back for one drive to start third quarter but around that we saw take Bigsby lead the
49:16team with 15 touches and Will Shipley surprisingly unlike last year where Bigsby was their primary and basically only backup Will Shipley
49:23run around on 57 percent of drop backs uh finished with 32 percent of the team's backfield touches himself on Monday night
49:30this upcoming game for the Eagles is against the Bears that we've seen Chuba Hubbard finishes the RB 10 Aaron Jones had
49:38over 100 yards last week and so it's a great matchup for both Bigsby and Shipley if Barkley's out so I'm just
49:45combining them together here that is cheating and I'm afraid I'm going to have to turn the knob here and shock you
49:52I zoom gave me the capacity capacity sorry bungle do we use bungle do obviously to record the show uh so I'm
50:00gonna push the button here and give you an electric shock uh I tank Bigsby is my number two but I did
50:07not wimp out and put Will Shipley also on the list uh I get your point um of course in the show
50:14notes I'm gonna write it as Cartavious Bigsby because he is the map maker around these parts and I do have a
50:22soft spot for Cartavious two it's hard to remember two years ago it's hard to remember that Jacksonville season I guess we're
50:29gonna probably agree that Travis Etienne was just hurt and that's why tank Bigsby freaking won that job kind of outright as
50:36the season went along and played pretty well like that touchdown run was really good on on Sunday against the Titans that
50:44was a good run very good and he showed us last year in week 18 his interim start whenever he played for
50:51Saquon Barkley uh had over 100 yards from scrimmage he's been a good player whenever he stepped in outside of his rookie
50:58season which was a disaster every time he touched the ball fumbled a lot as a rookie and of course the the
51:06worry now is you fumble once and Will Shipley's right there I would be picking Bigsby over Shipley I completely agree with
51:13you though watching it I was like huh is that Will Shipley uh and he was playing and he was okay he
51:21got bigger uh Will Shipley he he was okay I prefer Bigsby he's my two um we've done my three uh we've
51:28got a lot of overlap here which is to say I think we're gonna have all overlap because I think I know
51:35who your two is I think your two and my one are probably the same guy and they're the only guys we
51:43haven't talked about who you got I am assuming my two and Jonah Coleman yes is your number one and a wide
51:50range of outcomes here uh so much so just look to week one whenever Pat Bryant was targeted at a higher rate
51:57than Jalen Waddell Sean Payton does not care about your fantasy team or basically the best players on his own team so
52:05Jonah Coleman could come out and get like week one zero touches again after J.K.
52:10Dobbins suffered a hamstring injury in week two R.G.
52:13Harvey was inactive because he suffered a hamstring injury midweek both those players could come back and Jonah Coleman could go right
52:20back to the bench but I do wonder if we're in a situation where the genie can't get put back in the
52:27lamp after Coleman out touched Tyler Bidet nine to one once Dobbins left that game in week two Coleman exploded for the
52:35go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter as well just maybe a player that Sean Payton has been waiting to unleash and perhaps
52:42he did enough to stick around and be like an RB3 flex yeah maybe that's right and that's probably about where he
52:49deserves to be ranked well probably if Dobbins and Harvey are both going to miss this game he probably deserves to be
52:57ranked higher than that I think it's the Rams though so you know I'm not positive he's going to have a great
53:04environment to run in but he's my one um whereas you have Boston as your one and I'll say I feel like
53:12Coleman came as advertised I was not blown away by moves I was not blown away by speed but as a as
53:19a good power back who has a little bit he can hit the I don't know what on the controller what's the
53:26spin move button I haven't played in a long circle circle uh he has the circle he tries to circle and it
53:34doesn't work great uh but he did get away and the touchdown was good I thought you know Biggsby touchdowns probably better
53:41run but you'll take it and you'll take a potentially you know are the Broncos a good offense they look like one
53:48in week two after not looking like one in week one um but I got I I'm absolutely right there with you
53:56uh it's 28 percent roster Jonah Coleman would be my number one ad and so it does beg the question I mean
54:03I don't know that's ever happened it hasn't happened recently where me and the guest have the same top five in a
54:10different order but we had the same top five um so we have to ask the question what are we doing for
54:18fab uh let's talk about both for you both Coleman and Boston because you know there might be a team that needs
54:25a running back is this a is this a like we're going to spend significant amount this week if you want to
54:32sure I always preface it as you probably the scared way out as you mentioned and that you know your league better
54:40than I do so you know I've been I've been wrong on windows of how people will bid on these players but
54:47for me Denzel Boston is a 7 to 12 fab bib I believe you can probably win him with seven or eight
54:55bucks given that he shouldn't have been on the waiver wire after week one and he's still there in week two and
55:02then same goes for Joe same goes for Jonah Coleman although I think people tend to get more excited about running backs
55:09it's just a more sparse position and so in order to win Coleman I suggested 11 to 14 what about you I
55:17think you're gonna need more than that to get Coleman I think Coleman will be I think he'll be the number one
55:24waiver out of the week I think you might need to spend like 25 and I think wow I think that's fine
55:31to be honest I mean you're not blowing at all and I think you probably want to do it if you have
55:39Dobbins and make sure you just sort of like you know like lock it up just in case Dobbins is out and
55:46let's face it it's Dobbins he's gonna be out and probably Harvey like you said midweek injury not great makes you feel
55:53like he might miss another game too one fantasy win is worth a lot you know so I could see I think
56:01I'll put it this way would I spend the 25 if I were oh and two and I had Dobbins yes do
56:08I think a bid of 15 is going to get it done on Coleman you said it perfectly correct which is you
56:15know your league everybody knows their league better than we do and they know what players go for my tendency is to
56:23think that in leagues where everybody is paying attention like 12 to 15 might not get it done for Coleman completely fair
56:30uh yeah I guess I need to wrap my head around would I personally do 26 for Coleman and I guess it
56:37depends on your build if you drafted something a team where you know you thought you were going to get RB2 numbers
56:45and waiting out of Marshawn Lloyd Tony Pollard's list goes on then you're probably desperate and if that's the case I would
56:52spend 26 that's it's tough because you can like you said it right I don't think any of these guys are guaranteed
57:00to produce right away but there is potential for a lot of production and I don't know also maybe we get before
57:07you have to make your call on a Tuesday night or Wednesday morning maybe we get some injury clarity on a Barkley
57:14or a Dobbins or a Harvey that kind of thing uh honorable mentions for me I'll just go through the list uh
57:22Caleb Johnson and Chris Brooks just as stashes uh Adnay Mitchell was my close number six uh did you did he wind
57:29up kind of high on your list not in your top five but he honorable mention but yeah but Rashad Bateman was
57:36my close number six since we're waiting out Zay Flowers injury right yeah that's a good question Zay Flowers could miss another
57:44week and Bateman just one of those weeks where like you and I both when we talked about Jonah Coleman uh we
57:51both use the term maybe like I think that describes the waiver wire perfectly there's a lot of maybes out here that
57:58I'm interested in but at the end of the day they are maybes that's right and and much more than week one
58:06like we were struggling to come up with games after after week one for sure uh Dontavian Wicks at 29 percent still
58:13rostered um he's he's it's viable and uh like you said no Goddard means some more targets for someone else maybe uh
58:20probably not Zach Ertz I didn't I didn't put him on the list uh Trey Tucker 29 percent we talked about him
58:28on Monday's show Xavier Hutchinson and Kayshaun Booty because we think Nico Collins gonna miss another game but again these are desperation
58:35deep league type names Keenan Allen 24 percent because we do have the Alec Pierce is like probably not playing again for
58:42a while and Malachi Fields 18 percent that was a really good catch when Jackson Dart was was in there last night
58:50uh just kind of putting in a word for him that's great John uh funny that we overlap but good to feel
58:57reinforced that I'm not crazy because you're good at this I hope folks will follow John on Twitter at not Jay Daigle
