Bo Nix

NegativeProjection20:53

The source moved Bo Nix down after his Week 1 performance against the Chiefs, describing him as "utterly clueless" and confused from the first snap despite being a top-10 fantasy QB in his first two years. The source notes Nix's fantasy production has relied heavily on rushing volume and late-game variance rather than genuine quarterback play, and ranks him 19th at the position for Week 2.

Insight page

Brenton Strange

NegativeRole50:24

The source notes Strange scored in Week 1 but expresses concern about the gravitational pull of Parker Washington limiting Strange's upside. The source was not waiting on Strange preseason but acknowledges the touchdown. However, the source fears Washington will command double-digit targets almost every week, which will hurt Strange's volume. If redoing the rankings, the source would have placed Likely ahead of Strange as well.

Insight page

Bucky Irving

PositiveRole29:18

The source was out on Bucky Irving all draft season but upgraded him after Week 1, where he looked like the dynamic player from his rookie season and was used in all aspects of the game. The source notes the Buccaneers clearly prefer Irving over Kenny Gainwell and don't overthink the decision—when healthy, Irving is their main guy and stays in regardless of results, though Sean Tucker's return could create a three-headed backfield.

Insight page

Chuba Hubbard

PositiveRole32:50

The source had completely avoided Chuba Hubbard after last year's disaster but upgraded him after Week 1, where he dominated against the Bears and looked great. The source now ranks Hubbard 20th among RBs for Week 2 and notes he's involved in the passing game and does everything, making him a pure RB2 after Jonathan Brooks showed minimal usage in Week 1.

Insight page

D.J. Moore

PositiveInjury2:18

Moore suffered a sprained AC joint in his shoulder during the Bills game and did not return; the source notes he had minimal involvement early in the game (the Bears were not utilizing him effectively) before the injury occurred on an end zone target where he dropped the pass before getting hit.

Insight page
NegativeInjury3:20

Suffered a sprained AC joint in his shoulder in week two; did not return to the game. Has 10 days to rest before week three, but there is uncertainty about his availability for week three and concern that the shoulder injury could linger even after he returns to the lineup.

Insight page
NegativeInjury7:00

DJ Moore was hurt during Thursday night's game, which opened up receiving opportunities for Keon Coleman. The source notes that three of Coleman's targets and catches came after Moore was hurt, with Coleman then used as the primary wideout in some formations.

Insight page

Dalton Kincaid

NegativeProjection5:13

Recorded 7 receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown in week two; could have had another touchdown after getting a target in the end zone. The source previously hated his ADP for being too high but now hates it because it was too low. They describe him as a locked-in top 5 option every week, maybe a top 1 option every week.

Insight page

Dawson Knox

PositiveUsage5:07

Scored a receiving touchdown in the second quarter of week two, contributing to the Bills' dominant offensive performance. The source identifies him as part of a top-tier Bills offense.

Insight page

De'Von Achane

NegativeBust55:56

The source downgraded Achane after Week 1, citing concerns about the Miami offensive line. The source was sold a bill of goods on the Dolphins' offensive line quality and is now concerned after Achane's performance against the Raiders. The source notes if the Dolphins can't run effectively against the Raiders, there are serious concerns about the line's ability to perform against better defenses.

Insight page

Derrick Henry

NegativeProjection55:28

The source had Henry ranked high in the first round preseason but notes all preseason worries about Henry still apply post-Week 1. The source acknowledges Henry probably moved up slightly after Week 1 but remains concerned about the difficulty of maintaining production at his age for an entire season. When asked to choose between Walker and Henry in a redraft, the source would take Walker by one, having them back-to-back in rankings.

Insight page

Isaiah Likely

PositiveBreakout49:12

The source upgraded Likely significantly after Week 1, moving him from TE11 (or as early as TE9) to TE5 tier. The source was bullish preseason but not bullish enough. Likely showed proof of concept immediately as a frequent red zone target despite Mark Andrews being on the field; the Ravens found multiple ways to involve him in various situations. The source loves Likely's situation and performance, grouping him with Dalton Kincaid in the same tier. The source expects to see a lot of Likely this season and is confident in the outlook.

Insight page

James Cook

PositiveUsage5:22

Had two awesome long runs with huge lanes in the second quarter, accumulating 101 rushing yards by the end of the first half in week two. Later in the game, he was stuffed on goal-line carries but eventually scored a one-yard touchdown on a great run around the right side. The source describes Allen and Cook as 'monsters' and part of the best offense in the league right now.

Insight page

Jameson Williams

NegativeRole13:00

Jamison Williams is described as a flag player being debated in the context of the Lions' offensive environment concerns following their game against Buffalo. The source indicates he is part of the discussion about which Lions players warrant reconsideration, though the specific details of the debate are cut off in the transcript.

Insight page

Jared Goff

NegativeProjection13:00

Goff is not the type of quarterback who performs well when circumstances around him aren't perfect; he lacks the ability to make out-of-structure plays when not getting proper blocking. Against Buffalo, he was pushed around early and the Lions' offensive line struggles (particularly Penei Sewell at left tackle) created early pressure that dug a deep hole. While Goff finished with 327 pass yards and four touchdowns, the source notes this was perilously close to a second half of complete garbage time, with fourth quarter stats that didn't matter for the NFL game but inflated fantasy scoring. If Detroit's offensive line doesn't improve, the Lions' offensive environment may not be as reliable as previously thought.

Insight page

Jonathon Brooks

NegativeUsage32:50

The source downgraded Jonathan Brooks after Week 1, noting minimal usage despite being drafted ahead of Chuba Hubbard. The source says Brooks is not usable in any fantasy league size this week and ranks him around 40th among RBs, though the source acknowledges Brooks may have been dealing with nagging injuries and could eventually be part of a 50-50 split.

Insight page

Josh Allen

PositiveProjection1:09

Allen is playing at an MVP level through two games, running aggressively and throwing well; the source notes he's 'behaving like every moment is a must win' and 'crushing for fantasy too,' though the source raises the question of whether this aggressive running style will eventually lead to injury.

Insight page
PositiveProjection3:59

Accumulated 14 carries in week two, matching his season-opener carry total from last year against Baltimore. Through two weeks, he has 4 rushing touchdowns and 5 passing touchdowns, establishing him as a cheat code. The source emphasizes that owning Josh Allen is exactly where you want to be and that he is on pace to be MVP-caliber, though they note he takes significant hits and hope he stays healthy.

Insight page

Justin Herbert

NegativeProjection56:25

The source expresses concern about Herbert and the Chargers offense after Week 1, citing the loss of their center in training camp and the interior offensive line quality. The source notes Cole Strange is not a great acquisition for the interior line, and the interior line scares him significantly. The source is willing to give the offense a mulligan for the first game with a new coordinator, but the permanent loss of the center is a major concern.

Insight page

Kenneth Walker III

NegativeBreakout51:12

The source dramatically upgraded Walker after Week 1, calling him the player he's changed his mind most on. Walker was ranked 11-13 preseason but dominated the Chiefs offense in Week 1 against Denver. Andy Reid immediately established a run-heavy approach: handoff, handoff, handoff, screen, handoff, handoff, handoff, screen. Patrick Mahomes started 2-for-12 for 14 yards while Walker controlled the game. The source notes even the most optimistic preseason assessments (ranking Walker at 9 overall) couldn't have predicted this level of offensive dominance. Walker broke tackles and converted a crucial fourth-and-one run that Kareem Hunt or Isaiah Pacheco would not have converted. The source believes Walker is now a first-round pick (likely 3-4 overall) and would take him over Derrick Henry. The source acknowledges Walker's injury history but refuses to trade him away despite the actuarial risk.

Insight page

Keon Coleman

PositiveBreakout1:36

Coleman had a strong Thursday night performance with 6 catches for 63 yards against Detroit; the source notes this is only the start of his third season and references the historical 'third year bump for wideouts,' suggesting potential emergence despite Khalil Shakir being the better player so far in their respective careers.

Insight page
NegativeRole3:32

Made catches both before and after DJ Moore's injury in week two, showing some involvement in the Bills offense. The source considers him as a potential waiver add but expresses hesitation due to past disappointment, describing him as having 'psychic damage' to overcome.

Insight page
PositiveRole6:46

Coleman was used as the number two receiver even before DJ Moore was hurt, and then got used as the one at times after Moore got hurt. Coach's tape review showed three targets before Moore's injury with three catches, and formations where Moore and Coleman were the only two wideouts on the field with Shakir absent. After Moore's injury, three more targets and catches came with Coleman as the only wideout on the field with tight ends. The source notes Coleman had legit good releases on catches, some with tight coverage where he won, and compares his possession-in-traffic repertoire to latter-day post-knee-injury Cortland Sutton, who finished as a top-12 fantasy receiver for two straight years in the right environment. The source states Coleman 'did begin the rehabilitation process' after Thursday night's game.

Insight page

Khalil Shakir

NegativeRole1:36

Shakir has been the better player in his career compared to Keon Coleman, but Coleman is receiving more target volume; the source expresses preference that Coleman's recent production would have gone to Shakir instead.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveBreakout46:52

The source upgraded Washington significantly after Week 1, now viewing him as a borderline WR1 after initially ranking him without separation from Brian Thomas Jr. and slightly ahead of Jacoby Myers. The source describes Washington as having an essential, central role in the Jaguars offense—comparing it to the Amon Ra St. Brown effect where no other player can infringe on his role. The source is "sold" and "in" on Washington, though concerned about his punt return duties. The source notes he was too slow to move Washington up enough in preseason rankings and lacks sufficient exposure. The source is "scared of almost every other Jags player because of how much I love Parker Washington right now."

Insight page

Quinshon Judkins

NegativeProjection39:48

The source moved Quinshawn Judkins down after Week 1, citing both poor team context (the Jets offense) and Judkins' own performance—the source believes Judkins lacks burst coming off his ankle injury and doesn't look great. Judkins is ranked outside the top 30 RBs and is not someone the source feels comfortable starting, though he may be a flex option or forced starter in some leagues.

0:00It's the Harris Fantasy Football Podcast with your host, Christopher Harristopher Harris.
0:04Hey everybody, welcome in. My name is Chris. This show is your sister, your daughter, your sister, your daughter.
0:10Hello there, you yacht possums. Thank you so much for listening today.
0:14It's been a very fun week. I've said this is probably my favorite week of the year because we're finally not guessing
0:21and we're not being subjected to the wild swings that people do when they do what I do for a living.
0:27Talking about here's why I like to draft a guy because I'm positive that team is good.
0:33Here's why I like to draft a guy not because team is bad.
0:37We get to actually watch them, which also has the side benefit of being super fun.
0:42I really like watching football despite everything that comes along with it, including the Amazon broadcast continuing to shove a billionaire's picture
0:49in my face for three hours because the stadium is new and the public contributed $850 million to it.
0:55But nevertheless, that billionaire, what a hero, don't you know?
0:58Buy pound foolish. But despite all that stuff, watching football is really fun.
1:02One of my favorite things personally and there's a lot less guessing and a lot more just saying what happened.
1:09And after two games, we can now very obviously say Josh Allen not messing around.
1:14Will it eventually get him hurt? It hasn't yet.
1:16It's a good question. But that dude is behaving like every moment is a must win.
1:21Every game, certainly every play. He is running like crazy.
1:25He's throwing it well. He's obviously the MVP so far and crushing for fantasy too.
1:29And it made the win over the Lions last night look kind of perfunctory, kind of easy.
1:35Detroit would get within 10 points a couple of times in the second half, but they just could not stop Allen and the Bills.
1:42And I have a feeling that's going to turn out to be a lot less about the defense and way more about
1:49how tough it is to play against the Bills offense.
1:53The question now isn't, should I start my Bills?
1:56It's, oh, huh, maybe I should add Keon Coleman.
1:58That's right. The little black backpack, Keon Coleman, had kind of a big Thursday night, 6 for 63.
2:04You'd sure rather that stuff was going to Khalil Shakir when so far in their respective careers, he's been the better player.
2:11But even though it seems like Coleman has been in the league forever, this is actually only the start of his third season.
2:18And way back when many of you were just a glimmer in Terry Pagoula's eye, we used to talk about the third year bump for wideouts.
2:27I remember sitting around a table for years and people would go, the reason I like him is because it's his third year.
2:34So who knows? Maybe that's a thing. The little badass DJ Moore got hurt in this game.
2:39He sure hadn't done very much in the first half before his injury.
2:44They just kind of remembered when it was 21 to 7.
2:47Oh, right, right, right. We traded a lot to get that DJ Moore guy.
2:52Let's give him a jet sweep, which felt eerily familiar to how the Bears would forget all about him.
2:58And then immediately like, oh, OK, let's throw him a screen or something.
3:02And then at the end of that same drive, they did give Moore an end zone target.
3:07He dropped it. I mean, he got hurt in the play, but let's not lose sight of the fact that it hit him in the chest.
3:15He dropped it. It wouldn't have counted because Buffalo was called for holding on the play.
3:20But yes, more importantly, Moore got crunched. It looked like it might have been a collarbone there for a little bit.
3:27But we're told this morning that it's a sprained AC joint in his shoulder.
3:32He didn't return to this game. The truth is Keon Coleman had made catches before Moore got hurt.
3:37He made catches after Moore got hurt. He's OK.
3:40And Josh Palmer had scored a long touchdown, albeit on a completely blown coverage.
3:45So we're not going to add Josh Palmer. And now, unfortunately for DJ Moore, after an awesome week one, he gets 10 days to rest.
3:53So that's good. But we're up in the air for week three.
3:56And we also have to worry about whether this shoulder injury lingers even after he's back in the lineup.
4:02But we are clearly hoping to find pieces in the Bills offense with Josh Allen on this kind of rampage.
4:09The first Bills drive, he was scrambling right away.
4:12I don't know that we have a full appreciation of the extent to which Allen is taking no prisoners right away.
4:1814 carries last night. He's done that once before in his career in the season opener last year against the Ravens where
4:25he was also hyped to the Gills. He's never really gotten hurt, at least not to the point where he's missed tons
4:32of time, which is a testament to how huge he is.
4:36But, you know, man, he does take some shots.
4:39I don't think that's actionable. Owning Josh Allen is exactly where you want to be.
4:44Just hope he stays healthy, take care of himself.
4:46You want to talk about a cheat code. Four rushing touchdowns these first two weeks.
4:51Five passing touchdowns. The first drive was a goal line carry for him.
4:55The second drive was the uncovered touchdown to Josh Palmer.
4:58Third drive, Allen does throw an interception, but it was clearly defensive holding correctly called.
5:03And it was overturned. Returned. They're inside the five and they call James Cook's number once, but he's stuffed.
5:09And then so, of course, you get the naked boot from the two.
5:13It was a jerk face touchdown. Made me MVP.
5:16Oh, it's going to make him MVP. All right.
5:19It's a Dawson Knox receiving touchdown and it's 21-0.
5:22End of the second quarter, two awesome long James Cook runs with huge lanes.
5:26He's at 101 rushing yards by the end of the first half.
5:30And that's when DJ Moore got hurt. Then Dalton Kincaid pays it off with a touchdown.
5:35I'm sure at the end of the first half, Cook's fantasy owners were thrilled to see Frank Gore out there in the two-minute drill.
5:43Junior, of course. Late third quarter inside the 10, they tried James Cook again and he was stuffed.
5:49So Allen runs for another naked boot. Touchdown. At the very end, Cook did get to pay it off.
5:55It was a great run by him around the right side with a crazy jump cut.
6:00But he's pushed out of bounds at the one.
6:03But finally, from the one-yard line, you are actually allowed to just hand it off.
6:08And James Cook pays off with the one-yard touchdown.
6:10It's the best offense in the league right now.
6:13And Kincaid, we talked about on Thursday's show. I hated his ADP for being too high.
6:18Now I hate it because it was too low.
6:21Way too low. Another 7 for 95. He could have had another touchdown.
6:25Got a target in the end zone. He's a locked-in top 5 option every week.
6:30Maybe a top 1 option every week. Allen and Cook are monsters.
6:34And then we find ourselves with the little badass hurt of maybe being in the same situation as the past two years.
6:41Can we find an actual wide receiver to use in one of these undoubtable offenses?
6:46Keon Coleman, as a waiver ad, maybe. I'm kind of on a maybe there.
6:50He's certainly got some psychic damage that he's inflicted upon us to overcome.
6:54But I've gone back this morning and watched the coach's tape of Coleman last night.
6:59The first three targets came before DJ Moore was hurt.
7:02There were three catches on those three targets. There were definitely formations where Moore and Keon Coleman were the only two wideouts on the field.
7:10And Shakir wasn't out there. And then three of the targets and catches came after Moore was hurt.
7:16But again, there's two on which Coleman is the only wideout on the field with a bunch of tight ends.
7:22So, yeah. I mean, he kind of was used as the number two even before Moore got hurt.
7:28And then kind of got used as the one at times after Moore got hurt.
7:33Some legit good releases on his catches. A couple where it's, you know, they're playing, they back off, they're playing back.
7:39But a couple where he had tight coverage and he won.
7:43I would call the routine, the repertoire that he made catches on kind of like latter day post knee injury, Cortland Sutton.
7:50Possession stuff in traffic. But, I mean, I've seen Cortland Sutton finishes a top whatever 12 fantasy receiver for two straight years in the right environment.
7:58Even if you're not making big plays down the field, that can work.
8:02So, it's frustrating with Shakir. And maybe there will be weeks where Josh Allen's fickle finger of fate lands on Shakir more consistently.
8:10But Keon Coleman did begin the rehabilitation process last night.
8:13You know, we'll see how the weekend goes and whether there are other receivers we feel like adding.
8:19But all I can say is we do absolutely want functional pieces of this Buffalo offense.
8:24Today's kickoff. Okay, coming up on today's show, let's talk the other side of the Thursday night equation.
8:29Talk about what we thought of the Lions in that game.
8:33I will also do a rundown of the injury news we need to know about in advance of week two.
8:39And then my guest will be Jeff Erickson from Rotowire.
8:42And Jeff and I will each count down five players.
8:46We've already changed our opinions on I Think You'll Have Fun Listening.
8:49And I thank you again so much for being here today.
8:53We are sponsored by Thursday Boots. You hear me talk about them on Tuesdays during the waiver wire.
8:59Let's talk about them today too. Get yourself a nice pair of boots.
9:03Get someone you love a nice pair of boots.
9:06I'm a long time customer of Thursday Boots. I have pairs of Thursdays that fit like a glove are still in amazing
9:13condition that I've had for a decade. I can tell you that it is absolutely true.
9:18The look of a fashion boot, but the durability of a work boot with that cork bed insole, that lining.
9:24It just feels so good on your feet. It conforms to your foot.
9:28Just so great. They look amazing for men and women.
9:31Tons of options including sneakers and dress shoes and casual shoes.
9:35I simply guarantee you'll love everything you get from Thursday.
9:38They've been with us for 10 years and I love them.
9:42I don't have a promo code for you. These boots are priced for walking.
9:46They are priced to move. You can certainly, if you get a pair, tell them where you heard about them because that always helps.
9:54But mostly, seriously, check out everything they have at Thursdayboots.com.
9:57Game film rewind. Yeah, that game film was not that kind to the Lions.
10:01They scored 31 points. What are you talking about, Harris?
10:05You're always looking for a reason to slam the Lions.
10:08Am I? Person? I just made up in my head.
10:11I, of course, can see Jameer Gibbs and Amon Ross St.
10:14Brown see the quality of the actual players they are and also know how this team uses them and say the offensive environment doesn't matter.
10:22Quote unquote offensive environment. You know, like, I don't care.
10:26Those guys are good. And they get used in huge volume roles.
10:29And on any team in any environment, we would be using them.
10:33They're in lineups. St. Brown was a little quiet early.
10:36I was a little nervous. I got him in a couple spots.
10:40That was really nothing to do with him. Before the game was a rout, the Lions offense was stuck.
10:46They go three and out, losing seven-nothing on their first drive.
10:50Then second drive, Gibbs got it going with a couple of runs.
10:54But Jared Goff has a play-action sack fumble. The Lions recover.
10:57Third down, Goff drops the snap, picks it up, gets sacked.
11:01Third drive was all Gibbs. St. Brown was stuck on one target and one catch.
11:05Gibbs goes down the seam, out of the slot, catches a touchdown pass to make his night.
11:11It's 27-10 at the half. The first drive of the third quarter, they're already in desperation mode.
11:16They go on fourth down. Sam Laporta converts. They get in the red zone.
11:21The Lions' formation is three tight ends. And St.
11:23Brown, gee, who do you think they're throwing it to?
11:27St. Brown gets it down to the one. And then they always go to him in those situations.
11:32They do it again. And that's when you're good.
11:35Everybody in the building knows St. Brown's getting the ball.
11:38They still can't stop it. And the Lions couldn't stop the Bills at all on defense.
11:44And so they were borderline hanging on between 10 and 17 points on the scoreboard throughout the second half.
11:50To me, the crisis here appeared to be with the offensive line.
11:53The broadcast last night did a good job pointing out that one of their binkies, one of the guys they like to
12:00praise no matter what, Pene Sewell, formerly an all-world right tackle, kind of got pushed around at times at left tackle, which
12:07had Jared Goff especially early in the game under pressure.
12:11And that was really how the big hole got dug.
12:14You had a sense anytime they needed it, the Bills could crank up the pressure in the second half too.
12:20And certainly, Goff was game. He did his best.
12:23He's always got a little Bortles in him for fantasy if the Lions are losing.
12:28But you could see last night, he's not the guy who's amazing when stuff around him isn't perfect.
12:33If he's not getting blocking, he's not going to make very many out-of-structure plays.
12:38He got pushed around. He certainly, to his credit, came back for more and gave us a bunch of fourth quarter stats
12:45that really didn't matter for the NFL version of the game, but saved us for fantasy with the Bills out there offensively
12:52naming their number and playing with their food a little bit.
12:55And if Detroit's line doesn't start looking better, I don't know that we can immediately say that the Lions number among the truly unimpeachable offensive environments.
13:04Now, by the same token, you're not having debates about St.
13:07Brown or Gibbs, obviously. The guys that you're having debates in your head about here are Goff himself.
13:13And he did 327 pass yards and four touchdowns, but it was perilously close to a second half of complete Basura time.
13:20And then you're also debating Jamison Williams, a flag player who has not popped at all.
13:25Through two weeks, he has six catches and 78 yards.
13:28He's out there playing plenty. But, you know, even though I flagged him, even though I said draft him, the worst case
13:35that I kept saying, and a couple of times I actually said, like the thing I'm worried about when I do those
13:42lists, what if Jamison Williams' uptick in the second half of 2025 was more about Sam Laporta being gone than it was
13:49about some change in the way the Williams, the Lions view Williams?
13:53And yeah, that worry seems valid in a very short sample size.
13:57St. Brown is what he is. He's going to occupy the top spot in that offense forever.
14:02Williams is running a ton of routes. I think it's incorrect to say he's only running wind sprints deep.
14:08I saw a blurb this morning saying, well, it's only because Goff doesn't have the time.
14:13He can't go down the field. I went back and watched Williams' routes from last night again.
14:19They absolutely have him running outs and ins, you know, digs and hitches and in the flat.
14:24I think less than a quarter of his routes have been deep, but the ball just is not finding him.
14:31Laporta has 15 targets. Williams has 13. This is through two weeks.
14:34Laporta has 100 yards. Williams has 78. Laporta scored from the one last night after drawing interference in the end zone.
14:41The difference, that's very similar, but the difference is, of course, Laporta plays a smelly position that has few alternatives, while you
14:48can start 100 different guys at wideout. So having Williams and Laporta essentially with the same route running patterns and usage patterns, that is not all you need.
14:57That is bad. Which means that Goff and Jamison Williams are the two guys who probably teeter in and out of usability,
15:04depending on whether the Lions do turn out to be a trustable offense.
15:08I'm still on the side that, you know, if you're going to list the top 10 offenses you want your players to
15:15be on, it's the Lions are still in that for me right now.
15:19That could change. It's not top three anymore. And obviously, Goff Bortles-ed to a big night last night.
15:25But his offensive line was possibly the reason they were down so big all night.
15:30Next week, they get the Jets. We'll have to watch the Jets against the Packers to see how potentially problematic that could turn out to be.
15:38Injury news. As always, there's really no such thing as an injury expert.
15:42And you are made dumber if you listen to one who's guessing about injuries.
15:47We will all find out what's up with these dudes together.
15:50But I make this list every Friday, so you don't have to.
15:54Here are some of the players we'll be checking in on later today and over the weekend.
15:59And then some we won't know about until they tell us.
16:03Sam Darnold is out for week two. Drew Locke will start against the Cardinals.
16:07Kyler Murray was concussed in week one. Jordan Mason wouldn't be unprecedented if he played right away.
16:13So far, that's not how I've ranked it. And I don't think he's practiced to this point.
16:18Cooper Rush still seems likely to start for the Falcons.
16:21Although the rookie, is it Jack Strand? Could just be chosen for the unknown.
16:26Because it feels like Cooper Rush, pretty known. Jordan Mason is on IR with a thumb injury.
16:31He's eligible to return week seven for the Vikings.
16:34Aaron Jones would figure to get an increased workload against the Bears.
16:38RJ Harvey has a hamstring issue and hasn't done much in practice yet.
16:42But nobody has really said they're freaked out about him potentially missing the Jags game.
16:47Kalon Black, who Dave Kluge and I talked about on Thursday.
16:50He was added to the 49ers injury report on Thursday, which is not great.
16:55Apparently suffered a groin injury. You'd have to consider him legit questionable until you hear otherwise.
17:00Alvin Kamara going to play in week two. Travion Henderson going to play in week two.
17:05It sounds like in both cases. Zay Flowers with his hamstring injury that cost him the second half of week one has not practiced.
17:13So far, I've been guessing that he doesn't play.
17:15But we'll of course find out when they tell us.
17:19Chris Olave, one of the big wide receiver names who got added to the midweek injury list.
17:24He left practice on Thursday with a hamstring. They say it's precautionary.
17:28They always say it's precautionary. We'll have to see what they say for Sunday.
17:32Devon Vele gets more attractive as a one-week stopgap if there's no Olave.
17:36And Nico Collins, the other major injury name who got added to the list midweek.
17:41A hamstring injury. He may have suffered it in practice on Wednesday.
17:45That's not amazing. There probably isn't an obvious answer to use as a definite fill-in on the Texans.
17:51Maybe my choice would be Xavier Hutchinson. Next would probably be Keishon Booty.
17:55I know I talked up Jayla Knoll as a super deep sleeper.
17:59And I'd love to see it, but he just didn't play that much when Collins was healthy in week one.
18:05Lad McConkie hasn't practiced yet this week because of a rib injury.
18:09He took that huge shot in week one. I've assumed that he won't play.
18:13He's been doing stuff off to the side. Means nothing.
18:16They'll tell us when they tell us. We will see.
18:20Alec Pierce has what they're calling a heel injury.
18:23Maybe or I don't know. Maybe it's still related to his ankle.
18:26He so far, I think they said he practiced Wednesday and didn't on Thursday.
18:31Doesn't feel mandatory to be squeezing Alec Pierce into fantasy lineups.
18:34Brian Thomas was out for some time last week in the game, week one, with a shoulder injury that had bothered him in training camp.
18:42But also the Jags were absolutely mauling the Browns.
18:45So far the assumption seems to be that Brian Thomas will play in Denver.
18:50Michael Pittman may have been a midweek injury or else they're just managing something that happened on Sunday.
18:55But he's been on the injury report with a foot injury and hasn't done much in practice yet.
19:01John Stribling is on IR with an ankle injury.
19:04Jacoby Lane is on IR with a wrist injury.
19:07Brock Bowers has not practiced in a way that Raider beat reporters consider to be real practice or at least that they saw.
19:14Doesn't mean he can't play in week two. Probably the Raiders themselves really don't know if he's going to play week two
19:21and might even take it right up until game time.
19:24That isn't awesome, but it is what it is.
19:27And Chig Okonkwo left his first game as a commander with a hamstring problem, didn't return, and hasn't practiced yet this week.
19:34We are sponsored by Viore. Of course we are, because I'm a walking advertisement for Viore, their clothes.

20:34Try them out. Viore.com slash Harris. Today's guest. His name's Jeff Erickson.
20:38I'm Eric Jefferson. And he tries to. To Jeff Erickson.
20:41And today's guest is not Eric Jefferson. It is, in fact, Jeff Erickson.
20:45You can find him all over socials. Just look up Jeff Erickson.
20:49You can, of course, find him all over Rotowire as well.
20:53And you hear him very, very often. Are you on, Sirius, in some form or capacity basically every day right now?
20:59Monday through Thursday. I am now on from 1 to 3 Eastern time.
21:04And every once in a while I sub in here and there for one of our weekend shows.
21:09But, yeah, I'm there. I do segments on V-CIN.
21:12My V-CIN show that I host is in hiatus for the winner.
21:16Because what happens is Nick Whalen and I share that show from basically a week after the Super Bowl until end of August.
21:23And then John Hansen comes in and takes over that show for six months.
21:28So I kind of share that time slot. But then I guest on a bunch of other segments.
21:33So I talk a lot, basically. Let's talk about some players who we might have changed our opinions on.
21:39I gave you instructions to basically you're allowed to plant your tongue like halfway in your cheek as far as this goes.
21:46This is a Cousin Josh segment. And if Cousin Josh was doing this, he would launch all the way into overreaction theater.
21:53He would launch into some truly wild takes that probably he didn't really even believe.
21:58But he's just, you know, he gets nervous easily.
22:01So he gets spooked about players very easily. So, you know, he's borderline telling you to drop really good players.
22:07And then we always have to be like, Josh is kind of kidding, guys.
22:12Well, maybe don't drop him. But so, you know, I you're knowing you're the way you approach this stuff.
22:18I didn't expect you to overreact to that degree.
22:21But you're allowed to be somewhat cheeky if you if you need to be.
22:25But I can tell you in my five, we're going to count down five guys.
22:30And like in my five, I don't really think I was that cheeky.
22:34In fact, four of mine are positive and one is negative.
22:38So in a lot of cases, it's just I feel like I missed the boat almost.
22:43And that's OK. But like my assessment of them kind of has reached a different level.
22:48How did you approach this exercise? So I was semi serious, mostly serious, actually, because I'm always afraid of, you know, being told, oh, you're overreacting.
22:56No, I'm not. I'm not afraid. But there are players that it's kind of funny.
23:01Like I actually am two down, three up. So for once, I'm more negative than you.
23:06And so we've got that. Yeah. And I have a I have a backup negative guy in case we have the same guy.
23:13But I don't mind. Yeah. I don't mind if we have the same guy.
23:18If at some point I say a name that you had on your list, you can feel free to go.
23:24Oh, I got him. You can interrupt me because I'd rather hear you talk than me talk at all times.
23:31That is the case, except for during poker games.
23:33Obviously, you need to not talk during poker games.
23:36I need to tone it. Yeah, that's right. Stop telling other people to post their blinds.
23:41Chris will take care of it. The thing is, we're both wired the same way on that.
23:47Like, dude, you need to do this. You need to do that.
23:51The thing is, it's true that in our poker games, we both used to.
23:55I don't really do it anymore because I know you're going to do it.
23:59I don't know if you noticed, but lately I back off because I'm like, Jeff has got this.
24:05And you do it in a very kind way.
24:08You don't make, you know, people are kind of forgetting or they're gabbing away and not.
24:13Yeah. You do it very well. You're good at it.
24:16As opposed to, I think I just come across like, hey, jerk face, do this.
24:21All right. So we're going to, it's a pointless countdown, but the order obviously is hugely crucial, even though it's absolutely pointless.
24:28Who's your number five player you've already changed your opinion on?
24:32My number five player, I've already changed my opinion and I try to do this by position.
24:37I'm going Bo Nix. I'm moving him down. What on God's earth was that?
24:41What was that against the Chiefs? Okay. Was it Spaggs having two, two or three months in the lab to cook this up?
24:49And that's what it was just so confusing that he, that Nix looked utterly clueless.
24:54Like he had never played an NFL snap before.
24:56I, I heard like the ball was slippery. That's why he did that thing around the sideline where he fumbled on the second goal.
25:04I, I don't know, but I I'm telling you, Chris, I, he, from the first snap, Nick, Nick's was utterly confused out there and I expected better.
25:13And in year three, they went and got the piece that they were expected to make this the next step in the offense.
25:20You know, I, I, I heard people dutifully reminding us he was a top 10 fantasy quarterback each of the first two
25:27years, but you watch Bo Nix and you're like, okay, he's okay.
25:31It's because he runs and he's had lots of attempts, but I don't think he's very good.
25:36Okay. Maybe he is better than I'm giving him credit.
25:39I'll bump them up a little bit. Nope. Back down.
25:43He's back down for me now. Where'd you rank him for this week?
25:47Do you remember? Do you have it in front of you?
25:50I can tell you why you're looking it up.
25:53I, it's funny. I ranked him exactly 19 this week.
25:56Um, so that we have them very similar areas.
25:59Uh, it's funny because I'd say I didn't change on Nix because my opinion of him was exactly what you just described that.
26:06It's been a lot of compiling and a lot of like luck late game weirdness, you know, just some stuff that I didn't really believe in.
26:15So my assessment of him feels like for one week, it feels like it's been on.
26:20And of course he can go out and have a good game against the Jags.
26:25Any of these guys can. And we immediately, and we go, yeah, we're just going to, we can only talk about what
26:32we saw for week one right now. Cause we haven't seen the rest of it yet and we're, we're not committed forever, but we have to have takes.
26:40And so I like your take. And it's the reason I say it's funny is because my number five is also a
26:47quarterback who I lump with Bo Nix typically traditionally and did in the Almanac and did in my ranks.
26:54And I put Jackson Dart as a kind of an up because yes, I like, whereas you had to take the, the next put him down.
27:02I had to take, uh, what's his face? The surf movie, bad guy.
27:06And put him up. Uh, no, I think he's the evil dojo movie owner.
27:10Um, I can't remember who's who, but one of them, they've, they're very paired in my eyes, but, uh, Jackson Dart in
27:17week one, like never seen him so under control, never seen him like have such nice command and a really kind of conservative game plan.
27:25And they didn't really feel the need to push down the field.
27:29And he never really got that close to being concussed.
27:32And like that whole operation just felt like they bolted it down.
27:36And I guess if that's what it winds up being, we'll understand how that is because that's why you bring John Harbaugh in.
27:43Did I a hundred percent like, uh, did I believe John Harbaugh was capable after there were some years there at the
27:50end where the Ravens were, it didn't look bolted down at all.
27:54And I, was I a hundred percent convinced that Harbaugh was the guy to do it?
27:59No, I, I can honestly say this summer I was not, but if it turns out that the giants are just a
28:06much more relaxed professional offense, it will have made sense that John Harbaugh was capable of accomplishing that.
28:12Even if I doubted that he could do it.
28:15Yeah. Uh, a hundred percent agree. And, and Matt Nagy too.
28:18I did. It's like, Hey, Matt Nagy will fix them.
28:22It's not something anybody said. Uh, and maybe fix is not the right word, but you know what I'm saying?
28:28Uh, it, I just, I, I, I, I a hundred percent agree with you.
28:32And in fact, in my rankings, the comment was always seemed to be in control.
28:37It's just so we're on a wavelength here. Yeah.
28:40And, and it was the Cowboys and it was home and we can get the Monday night game against the Rams and
28:47get the Rams mad and suddenly hell gets unleashed and it looks totally out of control again.
28:53And I'll of course say that and tell you my opinion, but I can just tell you that last year, Jackson dart didn't look like that.
29:01I couldn't point to very many games where he looked like he looked even an easy matchups last year.
29:07So good on him. Two minute drill right before halftime.
29:10Uh, just really good. Yeah. Really good. Yeah. Good stuff.
29:13Who's your number four on this list? My number four is going to be positive.
29:18I am. I was out on Bucky Irving all season long, all draft season long.
29:23And I wish I had some now, uh, because you know, he looked more like the guy we saw in his rookie season, you know, devastating fumble.
29:31Sure. Okay. It took some, some sheen off that otherwise good game.
29:35I liked that. They used them in all aspects of the game.
29:39Uh, I like Kenny gain well skills, but you know, Bucky Irving is, I think a little bit more of a dynamic
29:46player and the bucks seem to think so as well.
29:49Uh, I don't have any Bucky Irving anywhere really.
29:52Um, and I wish I had a little bit more.
29:55Uh, I, I thought that this was a mostly positive game from him.
29:59Yeah. Very, very positive. Agreed. Um, he was a flag player.
30:03So I was on the other side of that coin.
30:06I liked him a lot. Um, but came out with the same message agreed.
30:10The fumble wasn't good. And there's a moment in that game where you feel like, Oh, gain well's in.
30:17Oh, are they, are they punishing him? Um, and it seems like what we've learned about the Buccaneers is that over these
30:24last few years, when Bucky Irving is healthy, they don't think about it.
30:28They don't overthink it. They just go, he's our main guy.
30:31Are we going to rotate someone else in? Yes, we are.
30:35It's the NFL. That's what happens. Right. But when the rubber meets the road, who's our guy going to be the one
30:42you can just kind of tell, Oh, they keep using him over and over.
30:46It doesn't matter what the results are. He's just in there.
30:50It's always Bucky Irving. And there was no Sean Tucker in that game.
30:54And it sounds like Tucker will play. So now is it a three headed monster?
30:59That was part of the Irving fretting, you know, yes, maybe, maybe you can explain away week one because Tucker wasn't in
31:06there and Irving will never get the goal line.
31:08It's possible. But I think that's right, that someone who was a little dubious of Bucky Irving probably needed to, if they're
31:15honest with themselves, like, you know, like watch week one and say, maybe I was a little too dubious.
31:21Yeah, absolutely. And yeah, he converted the red zone carry.
31:25It wasn't, it was from the 10. So it wasn't exactly like your traditional goal line carry or anything like that.
31:31So I do agree that Tucker is a threat at the actual goal line when you, when you have this concentrated pack of players.
31:39But yeah, I'm, he's, he's an answer to the running back dead zone question.
31:43And, you know, Hey, if you got one of the three, the seven wide receivers that got hurt in week one, well,
31:50at least when you drafted your second running back in the fifth round, Bucky Irving was the guy you did well.
31:57And in a lot of cases, I think he was some people, at least people listen to the show.
32:03He was their third running back, which is all the better, which is great.
32:08So number four, for me, I have a positive running back as well.
32:12Boy, oh boy, do I have a tortured history with Chuba Hubbard.
32:16Yes. And there was no world, there was no universe in which I was going to be planting flags on Chuba Hubbard
32:23again this year after last year's disaster. The worst call I made all last year.
32:27And yet it may will have turned out to have been related to Jonathan Brooks's nagging injuries.
32:33And maybe it will be a 50-50 split, but all we can do in August is guess.
32:38All we can do is read beat reports and say, huh, it seems like they like this Jonathan Brooks character.
32:44And Chuba Hubbard was hurt for a lot of August.
32:48And so I never had Hubbard below Brooks, but I had them side by side.
32:52And this just in, I am touching my fictional earpiece and mentioning that I do not have them anywhere near each other
32:59for this week after seeing Brooks's usage. We're not using Jonathan Brooks in a fantasy league of any size.
33:05In a Carolina Panthers only league this week, we're probably not using Jonathan Brooks, which isn't to say you cut him because
33:12we might get the explanation eventually that he wasn't healthy and it will be a split, but until you see it, you can't proceed based on it.
33:21And Hubbard suddenly finds himself in pure RB2 territory.
33:24Yeah, absolutely. They've always loved Chuba Hubbard. The Carolina Panthers have that, you know, going back from when they gave him the
33:31contract extension, you know, to that, to that point is weird that they spent the draft capital that they did on Jonathan Brooks after giving Hubbard that contract.
33:40That was the thing that there was always that disconnect.
33:43But yeah, there was no disconnect. Hubbard was clearly the chosen player against the Bears and looked great while doing it.
33:50He was very good. And of course, again, Bears defense time is going to tell us whether that was just a very easy matchup, but he did.
33:58I mean, you agreed. He did look good. Absolutely.
34:01So I have Hubbard 20 and I have Brooks like 40 this week.
34:05So that's your, yeah, it's definitely a significant split.
34:08Yeah. And the thing about Hubbard is, you know, he's involved in the passing game.
34:13He does everything. We are sponsored by Trust and Will.

35:20to go on the players we've changed our opinions on.
35:23But Jeff, you're stepping into the lion's mouth. It is the Cousin Josh show.
35:27It is the spot in the week in which Josh is forced.
35:31Forced, I say, by me to pick a spread on DraftKings.
35:35Um, we're looking for a week two point spread that you enjoy for this week on DraftKings.
35:40The DraftKings sports app is live in all 50 states.
35:43Uh, that's very exciting that you can in California now with prediction markets, you're allowed to actually play these games, which is awesome.
35:51All states, uh, every sport, one app. Uh, what do you think for this week?
35:55Do you have one that you can shame Cousin Josh by getting it right?
36:00Okay. I'll do my best. Timing's perfect for you to have this segment too, because we were just talking about Bucky Irving.
36:07I'm taking the Buccaneers. I'm taking a minus eight and a half against the Cleveland Browns.
36:12I get one last chance maybe to bet against Deshaun Watson.
36:15I'm going to take it. Uh, I'm also using the Buccaneers in survivor.
36:20It's, I think the Bucs should have won that game against the Bengals.
36:24You know, you and I, you know, you, you, we were talking about this earlier.
36:28The, the fumble luck was pretty bad for the Bucs.
36:32Uh, not that they put the ball on the ground in the first place, but that all happened to gently ride in,
36:39let fall into Bengals loving arms, including that one where Baker is fumbling into the end zone.
36:44I mean, that's a huge, massive swing in that game.
36:47They moved the ball. Well, I actually thought the defense looked aside from Anzalone who looked terrible.
36:53Uh, I think there was good aspects of the defense as well.
36:56And Trotter in particular, I'm excited about. Uh, you know, I think Ruben Bain got big brothered a little bit by Marius
37:03Mims, but you get to go against the tee off against the Browns this week.
37:08I think the Bucs are going to win and I think they're going to win big.
37:13I like it. I can see it. It's a lot of points to give, but maybe there's never enough points you can give against the Browns.
37:22And obviously you were watching that game very closely as a Bengals fan and have it casting some doubts upon the performance.
37:29The, you're telling me the Bengals defense isn't back and perfect based on eight fumble recoveries or whatever.
37:34They're better. They are absolutely better, but the books still moved the ball all game.
37:39Yeah, they did. Uh, first drive. They just stalled out.
37:42There's so many times like there's the second play of the game that Baker and a book had just missed on a
37:49deep ball with Baker leads them just a little bit more.
37:53It might've been a walk-in touchdown. Um, it was, there was a lot of coulda, shoulda, woulda in that game.
37:59Uh, and, but at the same time I am, I'm, I'm enthused that there are pass rush options on the Bengals that are more than just Trey Hendrickson.
38:08Uh, they made tackles, which was nice, but still you can move the ball against the Bengals still.
38:14Um, and I think the bucks can move the ball against a lot of teams.
38:19All right. And the Browns maybe being one of those.
38:22Remember you can download the draft Kings app. You can use the code Harris.

39:33All right. So we are four names into our list of players who we have changed our opinions about.
39:39Who's your number three? All right. Kind of tying the whole room together here.
39:43We're talking about the Bucks. They're playing the Browns.
39:46I just hate to do this, but Quinshawn Judkins.
39:49I'm moving him down. Uh, I not only is it the team context dragging him down, but Judkins didn't look that good.
39:56I, in my opinion, I don't think he has a whole lot of burst running the ball right now.
40:02Uh, and that's to be expected coming off of a major knee injury.
40:06You know, he's not someone I feel comfortable starting.
40:09He is not, you know, he's outside my top 30 and running backs, maybe as a flex, I'm going to be in
40:16some leagues where I'm stuck with them as a starter.
40:19But if you did the whole heavy receiver thing early, which I know Chris Harris never does, but if you did, then
40:26Judkins might've been one of your options and you should have had to play Irving instead.
40:31And it's, it's going to be a tough season or at least tough early season.
40:36Cause he just doesn't look great right now. It wasn't a knee.
40:40I don't think, I think it was an ankle, but it doesn't mean he wasn't.
40:45Oh, you're right. You're right. Yeah. Um, I I'm holding course for one, at least one more week.
40:50I'm, I'm going to stick, stick in there on Quinshawn Judkins, but I had this conversation with Barron's on Wednesday on the Yacht Club.
40:58We talked a lot about it. He's on, he's in your camp.
41:02If Andy was doing this list with us right now, he would agree.
41:06He would, he has lowered Judkins and he said he was trying to deliver a message, which is he didn't so much
41:13say that he thought Judkins himself looked diminished, which I, I respect.
41:17I, I can't say I would probably need to go back and watch his carries like one by one by one to
41:24really like, I respect that you did the work.
41:27You, you watched it with that in mind. I really kind of didn't.
41:31So I, I'm trusting that that's an impression. You definitely came by.
41:35Honestly, uh, Andy would just say, my God, that offense.
41:38So like, and that's, that, that works too, by the way, that, that line of analysis would get you in the same spot.
41:45Um, it really, it's, it's really, truly terrible. I mean, it's everything about this team, uh, is so frustrating right now.
41:52Uh, the thing is I've liked their last two drafts.
41:55The fact that they actually had drafts to make draft picks to make, uh, but it take, it's just a reminder.
42:02This there's no easy button in this league. It's, it's hard, uh, for these young talented players to step in right away.
42:09Uh, they replaced their entire offensive line because they had to, but that takes a while too.
42:14Yeah. The, you know, the quarterback is, they just don't have the quarterback.
42:18It's obvious they were trying to build everything around them and the moment it's not Watson is the moment everybody gets a chance.
42:25Let's face it. That's exactly the bottom line, but I would still be starting Judkins this week, but I may be in the minority in that regard.
42:34Uh, my one negative, only one negative on this list, uh, talked about him, uh, I guess on Tuesday's show because it was a Monday night game.
42:43Um, uh, Rashi Rice, the PPR, the PPR scam.
42:46Um, I feel like maybe we've lost the scam.
42:48Uh, it wasn't with rice. It's never been about ability.
42:52I don't think, I don't think his biggest boosters have ever said, Oh my God, Rashi Rice, what a player.
42:58I mean, he's a very good player with the ball in his hands.
43:02He's Debo, but is he, is he more than Debo as a overall entity?
43:07I've never really thought so. Maybe other people have.
43:09But the whole point was, yeah, it doesn't matter when the chiefs don't have a running game, you get the bunch of
43:16two yard passes and Rashi Rice becomes the running back and he's going to be a hundred yard player every week.
43:23And it's annoying. And, uh, suddenly maybe he saved himself with the touchdown.
43:27Riley Moss could tackle. He wouldn't have even had that.
43:30So that's, that's a pretty significant downgrade where I was kind of like gritting my teeth and saying in a full PPR
43:37league, Rashi Rice, like very high level wide receiver two, you can even make the argument.
43:42He's wide receiver one. No, he's not even wide receiver two for me right now until I see a significantly different way of approaching his workload.
43:51I have been on the anti-Rashi Rice bandwagon. I have zero shares of him in my 20 plus leagues.
43:57Uh, he needed to drop to the fifth or sixth round for me to take him.
44:02I, uh, you know, and, uh, you know, I, when, when I heard the reports of him looking really stiff in training
44:09camp, that's what sealed it for me. Uh, because I was already, you know, he's already, you know, the knucklehead factor is really high, obviously.
44:17And one more knucklehead thing and he's out of the league possibly.
44:21So it was already like, I already need a haircut to get him.
44:25And then you throw in just how he looked, how he just, he's been hurt a lot in his career.
44:31I, I don't think he gains any separation at all.
44:34I, you know, I watched that one live. I didn't really watch tape of that game.
44:39So I didn't really like watch. Was this like all like Patrick Sertan over him.
44:44So therefore we can't throw to him sort of thing.
44:47Cause he only had the two targets. The touchdown, like you mentioned was against Riley Moss.
44:52Uh, I, yeah, I, I, I still think there is not a good wide receiver on the chiefs.
44:58Uh, I, I mean, you were right. Awesome. But yeah, there's not a good receiver.
45:03I don't have, I don't have rice. On any teams either.
45:06Um, he always went too high for me, but yeah, I'm surprised.
45:10I mean, this, this, if it turns out, this is a, an uncoupling because rice's contract is up at the end of the year.
45:18If we're, if it turns out to be an uncoupling, we're going to understand, oh, they were already like in the process of divorcing themselves from him.
45:27Yeah. They seem like the team to do that too.
45:30Maybe or else that's one week, you know, we'll, we're overreacting a little bit.
45:34Who's your number two? Number two. Um, my first receiver on the list.
45:38I'm going to go up arrow on Devon Valle.
45:41Uh, it wasn't just the, the, that he had seven catches and, you know, in scored.
45:46It was the, he was the, the variety of routes that we saw from him.
45:51You know, there, there's one sequence in the fourth quarter where, you know, draws the pass interference on a semi deep ball
45:58down the sideline, you know, and next time, you know, he's running a fade pattern and winning on that.
46:04Uh, I, it's going to be a while before we see Jordan Tyson and Tyson may eventually displace Bailey, but I think Bailey is actually a real thing.
46:13I think he can, you can use them as a flex in your leagues.
46:17I, is your like wide receiver for, I think, and that's not, that's, that sounds like damning with faint praise, but Hey,
46:24I, I'm in a need to use them in some leagues.
46:28I feel like I can. Yeah. I mean, you spent, we just talked about a Lave, you know, you just mentioned him
46:35like who's the, who's the number one wide receiver for Lave can't play this week.
46:40I don't know. There isn't one probably, but I guess it's Devon Bailey.
46:44He'll, he'll climb in the ranks for sure. My number two is a receiver that I'm higher on, but we're shopping in a much more extravagant neighborhood.
46:52Parker Washington. Yes. I wish, I wish I had found my way through to, I have him on one team.
46:59Um, I wish I could have seen my way through to putting them higher in my summer ranks.
47:05Just tough. It's tough to know until you start seeing them.
47:08But there's that, there's that thing we used to call with Pedro Martinez with the Red Sox.
47:13They used to call it Duende. Remember that? Like the thing of like, yeah, it, whatever the it thing is, you'd watch
47:20the way the team treats the player, the central role.
47:24It's the Amon Ross St. Brown thing. You just never get the sense that anybody else can really infringe no matter who's better or who's worse.
47:32He just essential to the operation. And that's the vibe I got out of Parker Washington in week one.
47:38And granted they're making fun of the Browns and they're trouncing the Browns and maybe it won't always be so easy, but
47:45I just think Parker Washington is the center. I wish he wasn't returning punts.
47:49Yeah. But I, I am just sold. I'm in, I think he's a borderline wide receiver.
47:54One, I I'm like scared of almost every other Jags player because of how much I love Parker Washington right now.
48:01Fair enough. And for good reason. And I'll say this, like, you know, we, I'm with, I'm like you that I started off having him right there.
48:10Like no separation between he and Brian Thomas Jr.
48:13Slightly ahead of Jacoby Myers. And I kept on moving him up, but I was always a half around behind.
48:19This is one where I was too slow and I don't have enough exposure to Parker Washington Jr.
48:25I love his game. Yeah. He's great. Is he a junior also?
48:29We don't have to call him a junior. Do we?
48:32I did. I call him a junior just there.
48:35I might've. I'm sorry. I don't call him doing that sometimes.
48:38I do that every once in a while. No, I don't think he is actually.
48:43Yeah. But I don't call it's okay. I don't call Brian Thomas Jr.
48:47Either. I don't call any of them juniors. I know who they are.
48:51Frank Gore Jr. That's fair. He was running back in the league.
48:55It does make sense to call him Frank Gore Jr.
48:58So there's no confusion. But as far as I know, Brian Thomas, his dad wasn't in the league, so I don't have to deal with it.
49:06All right. We are there. Your number one player you've changed your opinion on so far after week one.
49:12This is a player I was big on, but not big enough on Isaiah likely.
49:17You know, you mentioned Jackson Dart earlier, but this is.
49:20No, you know, we saw proof of concept right away.
49:24He's going to be a frequent red zone target.
49:26Neighbors is out there and they still found lots of ways to get likely involved in various different types of situations.
49:33He was my favorite weight on tight ends guy.
49:36I had him around like tight end 11 and I got him a lot of times, maybe as early as tight and
49:43nine, but he's more like tight end five now.
49:46You know, he and Dalton Kincaid, I think are in that same sort of bucket.
49:51And just, I love the situation that likely is in.
49:54I like the performance. I think we're going to see a lot of it this year.
49:59Yeah. He likely climbed on my list a lot over the course of the summer because I started with him like in
50:06a kind of unknown feeling about it. And as the reports got more, whatever, I don't want to call it like, you
50:13know, like you don't believe every little beat report, but it didn't sound like Theo Johnson was going to be that much of a factor.
50:21So I certainly was getting higher and higher on him.
50:24I'll be honest. He wasn't the, that's a good name for this list because he, Brenton Strange was not one I was waiting on.
50:32And Brenton Strange scored last week, but again, the gravitational pull of Parker Washington now has me scared of anybody else.
50:38If I have, if I have Brian Thomas and I thought of starting him, I'm scared of the gravitational pull of Parker Washington.
50:46If I've Brenton Strange at that terrible, terrible position, I'm scared of the gravitational pull of Parker Washington.
50:51I think there's a chance Washington's going to do double digit targets like almost every week and that's going to hurt.
50:58That's going to hurt everybody. So if I had to do over, I would have put likely ahead of Strange too.
51:05All right. Yeah. All right. My, my number one's obvious, but I have to admit he's the player I've changed my mind most on.
51:12I'm not like diving into the depths of fantasy football or whatever, but I didn't get Kenneth Walker because I wasn't ranking him 11 to 13 or whatever.
51:21Is there a player who changed their overall perception in the NFL among people who are like casual fans who watch a
51:28national TV game more than Kenneth Walker? The chiefs just like, it was obvious from the, I don't care about the stats.
51:35All you had to do was watch the game from the first moment.
51:39Andy Reed was like, Oh, you all think what I have a reputation for you think?
51:45You think I just throw, you think I never really take advantage of my running backs.
51:50Watch this. Cause it was immediate handoff, handoff, handoff screen, handoff, handoff, handoff screen.
51:54And suddenly wait, Patrick Mahomes is a, is a, is Alex Smith.
51:58He's a caretaker quarterback. We've come full circle. Alex Smith is out there banging the drum in the stadium.
52:04And now Patrick Mahomes is doing a tribute act.
52:07I don't know. I mean, Mahomes started two for 12 for 14 yards and meanwhile, can, and eventually turned it around and
52:14had a good game and ran for a touchdown.
52:17And I think you'd say overall a positive game for his first game back with a torn ACL, but it's clearly it was Kenneth Walker's offense.
52:25And I did not, I don't even think the biggest boosters who had Kenneth Walker ranked at nine overall, that's as high
52:32as I probably ever really saw him. I don't think they're, that's a great call.
52:37Whoever did that. Anybody who did that? If you did that, that's a fantastic call.
52:41But even the most optimistic assessment could never have believed that it would look like that.
52:47Right. Absolutely. And you saw like the fourth and one run.
52:50How many yards does Kareem Hunt get on that?
52:53Does he break the initial tackle? No, he does not.
52:56Isaiah Pacheco will run angrily right into Riley Moss's arms.
52:59You know, it's just, you know, it is completely different.
53:02Teams dared the chiefs to run at them last couple of years.
53:06Just dared it. It's going to be, it's going to be good for everybody in this chief's offense.
53:12If Walker can maintain anything of facsimile of this and the fact that they did it against Denver, even better for the, for chiefs fans.
53:20Yeah. Tremendous. I know I'm going to be watching to see Kenny handle this sort of workload.
53:25Seattle obviously treated him differently, maybe because they had Charbonnet.
53:29But, you know, we'll, we'll see, you know, cause we've seen a little nagging injuries in the past derail Walker's seasons before.
53:36So that's one thing I am going to watch for, but man, oh man, he looked great.
53:41A hundred percent. The reaction was a, that's awesome.
53:44B. He, oh my God, are you going to murder him?
53:47You know, he's been hurt his entire career. That's where the doubts come from.
53:52But like, I don't have it in me to be the kind of contrarian who says, aha, now you can trade him for something good.
54:00Sorry. He is the something good. Like that's how you win leagues is how, is, is a guy like that just taking
54:07over an offense and being good for an entire season.
54:10I don't, I don't turn around and go, cool.
54:13I'm going to, I'm going to cash him in for Amon Ra.
54:17Like I don't have it in me. It might be the smart thing to do.
54:21Actuarial speaking, you know, like he's been hurt so much.
54:25I'm just going to assume he gets hurt again.
54:27It might, that might be right, but I don't have it in me.
54:32It's the scarcest position. If we were doing a fantasy draft right now, how is Kenneth Walker not like the three pick?
54:39It's a good question. Maybe the four question. Um, yeah.
54:42I mean, he, he's definitely in the first round.
54:45You're going to still get the wide receiver pickers that are going to take wide receivers, but yeah.
54:50Yeah. Like I, I'm not going to move chase down too much.
54:54You notice he didn't come up on this list.
54:57Uh, it was no. Yeah. And he didn't change my list either.
55:01No. So, um, but that said, I think he's the four pick.
55:05I mean, for me, if I was redoing that, cause I'm not going to put, I'm going to look for running backs
55:12on a list before I get to wide receivers who I trust.
55:15And right now after one week, the overreaction or the reaction is it would probably go Gibbs, Robinson, Taylor, question mark, question mark.
55:23Kenneth Walker, like probably over McCaffrey. Where does Henry go on that list for you now?
55:28Uh, you know, the, he probably a little higher, but I had him in the first round.
55:33I had him high. It's just that all the worries you have about Henry still apply.
55:38It's just a hard road to hoe for at that age for an entire season.
55:43So I don't think I, I think I, if, if you're asking me right now, if I, who would I take between Walker and Henry?
55:51I'd take Walker. Yeah. Uh, can I, can I give you a couple of honorable mentions?
55:56Who would you take if you had to draft right now between?
56:00No, no, no. On honorable mention changers. Uh, I know, but who would you take between Walker and Henry?
56:06I would take Walker by one. I have them, I had them back to back.
56:11Um, so yeah, they're, they're right there. Sure. Honorable mentions go honorable mentions.
56:15Devon H. Chan, uh, because that down, I was sold a bill of goods on this Miami offensive line.
56:21If you can't do it against the Raiders, I'm a little concerned about that.
56:25Uh, and Justin Herbert just wants to the chargers offense as a whole, but I'm willing to kind of give that a
56:32little bit of a mulligan, you know, first game, new coordinator lost their center and training camp, but guess what?
56:39That center is gone. He's not coming back. The interior offense, the line scares the living heck out of me.
56:45Yeah. You think Cole strange, isn't a great, uh, acquisition for the interior line?
56:50Me neither. Uh, all right, Jeff. Well, this was super fun.
56:53Thank you for killing filling in for cousin Josh, who I believe his plane from Italy is probably landing as folks are listening to it.
57:01The show right now, he'll be back next week on his usual Friday spot, but this was wonderful to have you on.
57:08Of course you can find Jeff's work at rotowire.com.
57:11You can hear him all the time on serious, uh, radio satellite radio, as it were, is that satellites, they still use, they don't use the internet, huh?
57:20Do they use satellites or use the internet? They still, you both.
57:24There still is the serious XM app. Um, and you can get my show on demand if you don't care, if you're not in the right time slot.
57:33I love it. Well, Pete, check out very much.
57:35So, and, uh, we will try to get a poker game going one of these Fridays, not today, but maybe in the next couple.
57:43Okay. Sounds good. I've got some travel, so I'll, I'll touch base with you here.
57:48All right. Well, we'll figure it out. Thanks for doing it, my friend.
57:52Anytime. And thank you so much for listening. I will text him.
57:56We will play poker. We'll figure it out. Let me thank the sponsors that also made today's show possible.
58:02We had trust and will. Well, it's not necessarily something we're thrilled to think about, but it is a fact of life.
58:09And if you got a family, it does make sense to check it out.
58:13Also two great long term, long time sponsors who I wear their stuff all the time and they're just great.
58:20Thursday boots. Really appreciate how well they've supported for the years.
58:23And Viore, both great. Just wonderful. Make you feel great.
58:26Make you look great. If you were interested in anything I'd say about them, today's sponsors are in today's show notes.
58:33All the current sponsors are listed at harrisfootball.com. It really does help if you hear something you're interested in and use the
58:40codes or just like say, you know, they usually give you a little space where you can say how you heard about them.
58:47It helps because that's how they decide to keep sponsoring the show.
58:51I appreciate how many of you do take ownership of this particular podcast.
58:55Thank you from the bottom of my heart. And that is going to do it for this week.
59:01What a fun week. I love week two. I love pre-week two because we get to talk about what teams actually look like.
59:08Are we overreacting a little bit? Sure. Some of the players we just mentioned, are they going to turn around and bite
59:15us or turn around and suddenly be good again?
59:18I'm going to guess absolutely because that's the way it works.
59:22But finally, we're talking about actual football, which is a blast for me.
59:26Remember on Sunday morning for me, Sunday noon, no, yeah, Sunday noon Eastern, 9 a.m.
59:31Pacific for the Yacht Club members, I'll be there.
59:34I'll do my darndest to answer every question that we get during a live stream.
59:38You'll get an email and also the link will be posted in the Discord.
59:43And then on Monday, we'll be back and this gentleman will join.
59:47Christopher Harris, it's me. I'll never get tired of playing that.
59:50That was like either 10 or 11 years ago.
59:53He was just doing a sound check and I was making sure his microphone worked and I had the record button on and I've saved it ever since.
60:02Patrick Doherty from Rotoworld will join. We will talk about some games that we watch in week two.
60:08Until then, thanks again so much for listening. Your hat is awesome.
60:11You're awesome for wearing it. I will talk to you on Monday.
