Alvin Kamara

NegativeInjury118:30

Scott Pianowski notes that Alvin Kamara is currently injured and likely to miss games, advising that he should not be drafted.

Insight page

Charlie Kolar

PositiveSleeper11:28

Charlie Kolar is emerging as the primary tight end for the Chargers in 11 personnel, making him a deep-league sleeper. Matt Harmon suggests he could fill a role similar to Will Disley's past production, potentially seeing red-zone opportunities if the offense performs well.

Insight page

Chigoziem Okonkwo

PositiveRole100:20

Matt Harmon notes that Chig Okonkwo appears to be in line for a good role in the offense, citing his usage of 12 to 14 snaps in the first quarter of the preseason game.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

NegativeValue9:39

Scott Pienowski is fading Christian McCaffrey in the middle of the first round due to his heavy workload last season, which led to decreased efficiency. Pienowski prefers taking wide receivers or other running backs like Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry, or Jonathan Taylor over McCaffrey at his current ADP.

Insight page

Courtland Sutton

PositiveValue93:24

Matt Harmon views Courtland Sutton as a solid value pick at his WR42 ADP, arguing he is a reliable boundary player who can score eight touchdowns in his sleep, even if he lacks the 'hair on fire' upside of younger players.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

PositiveValue122:17

Scott Pianowski identifies D'Andre Swift as one of his favorite running back targets for the upcoming season.

Insight page

Denzel Boston

PositiveBreakout74:59

Matt Harmon is bullish on rookie Denzel Boston, noting that he played in the preseason game while other starters rested. Harmon believes the team is giving him significant work to evaluate him as a reliable target.

Insight page

Derrick Henry

PositiveValue26:21

Henry is a high-priority target in the second round who shows no signs of physical decline; his efficiency stats remain strong, and he is projected for significant touchdown production in the Baltimore offense.

Insight page

Deshaun Watson

NegativeBust75:36

Matt Harmon believes Deshaun Watson's performance has been a disaster and that his time with the Cleveland Browns is likely over. He suggests the team should move on from him entirely.

Insight page

Isaac TeSlaa

NegativeBust103:32

Matt Harmon and Scott Pianowski advise against drafting Isaac Tesla, noting he has had a poor training camp and is not currently viable for standard mixed leagues.

Insight page

Jakobi Meyers

NegativeInjury70:12

Jakobi Meyers is dealing with a hand injury that has him in a brace. His status for Week 1 is uncertain, which creates potential opportunities for other Jaguars receivers.

Insight page

Jalen Coker

PositiveValue64:52

Matt Harmon views Jalen Coker as a good player who is currently too cheap in fantasy drafts. While he considers him a depth player, he believes the gap in usage between Coker and McMillan is narrower than the market expects.

Insight page

Jameson Williams

PositiveBreakout104:14

Matt Harmon is 20 spots ahead of ADP on Jamison Williams, citing positive reports from Jared Goff regarding Williams' maturity and growth, alongside the potential for increased targets if Sam LaPorta misses time.

Insight page

Jaylen Waddle

PositiveBreakout90:04

Matt Harmon is extremely high on Jalen Waddle, noting that his usage in the preseason—specifically vertical routes from the slot—aligns perfectly with the role Harmon projected for him. Harmon considers him one of the most mispriced players in fantasy.

Insight page
PositiveValue91:58

Matt Harmon is significantly ahead of ADP on Jaylen Waddle, noting he is the most mispriced player in fantasy; Harmon is roughly 15 spots ahead of overall ADP and targets him in the fourth round whenever possible.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

PositiveUsage35:08

Warren is the preferred back in the Steelers' backfield and is expected to be proactively used in the passing game; he is a recommended draft target.

Insight page

Jerry Jeudy

NegativeValue80:30

Matt Harmon notes that Jerry Jeudy is consistently available in late rounds of drafts. While Harmon is not a major fan, he acknowledges that Jeudy's value is suppressed because he may not receive the 'designer touches' that other receivers on the team will get.

Insight page

Jonah Coleman

PositiveSleeper97:03

Matt Harmon considers Jonah Coleman draftable in leagues and a strong dynasty asset, noting he is a good runner who fits the system well, though he would likely serve as an early-down banger if the backfield depth chart shifted.

Insight page

Jonathon Brooks

NegativeBust65:40

Matt Harmon believes fantasy managers are 'over their skis' regarding Jonathan Brooks. Despite his upside, Brooks is coming off two ACL injuries and has limited NFL experience. Harmon views him as a potential trap, though acknowledges an 86th overall ADP is palatable given the scarcity of upside running backs.

Insight page

Jordan Love

PositiveValue84:55

Matt Harmon and Scott Pianowski argue that Jordan Love is a 'screaming value' at his current ADP. They highlight his potential for a high-volume passing offense, his previous QB5 finish, and the team's shift toward more 11 personnel and faster tempo.

Insight page

Jordyn Tyson

NegativeInjury118:33

Matt Harmon and Scott Pianowski warn against drafting Jordan Tyson, noting that his recurring hamstring issues make him a risky pick who is unlikely to provide immediate value upon his return.

Insight page

Josh Downs

PositiveValue95:27

Matt Harmon prefers Josh Downs over Courtland Sutton, noting that the Yahoo staff is collectively promoting Downs as a key breakout candidate this season.

Insight page

Ladd McConkey

PositiveValue17:07

Scott Pienowski remains highly bullish on Ladd McConkey, identifying him as the player he expects to have the most shares of on the Chargers' roster by the end of draft season.

Insight page

Marlin Klein

PositiveSleeper29:08

Klein is a rookie tight end who has received positive reviews in training camp; while primarily a blocker, he possesses receiving upside and is a strong deep sleeper in best ball formats.

Insight page

MarShawn Lloyd

PositiveRole83:39

Marshawn Lloyd is clearly positioned as the backup to Josh Jacobs in Green Bay. He saw significant work in the preseason, making him a key handcuff or injury-replacement target.

Insight page

Michael Pittman

PositiveProjection61:54

Matt Harmon is significantly ahead of consensus on Michael Pittman, projecting him to lead the team in receiving. Despite the perception that he lacks high upside, Harmon ranks him 'obnoxiously high' relative to ADP, noting that his role in running in-breaking routes makes him inherently more valuable for fantasy.

Insight page

Mike Washington Jr.

PositiveUsage18:13

Mike Washington Jr. is established as the clear RB2 for the Raiders, playing 22 of 26 snaps with the starters. He is noted for his explosive playmaking ability on the ground.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout18:56

Washington is the clear number two running back for the Raiders and could see 6-10 touches per week; he provides explosive playmaking ability that the team lacks, potentially functioning as a 'poor man's Kenneth Walker' in a two-back system.

Insight page

Omar Cooper Jr.

NegativeUsage30:59

Cooper is struggling to secure a full-time role as a slot-only receiver for the Jets, as he was off the field for two-receiver sets; while he has long-term potential, he is not recommended for redraft leagues.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveSleeper71:40

Matt Harmon is high on Parker Washington, noting that he is a player the staff frequently writes about. He admits to having FOMO regarding Washington and suggests he is a strong late-round target.

Insight page

Rashod Bateman

NegativeInjury109:11

Rashod Bateman is facing legal issues following a misdemeanor battery charge, creating uncertainty regarding his availability, though some analysts believe he will still play this season.

Insight page

RJ Harvey

PositiveSleeper95:44

Matt Harmon highlights RJ Harvey as a deep sleeper, noting that while he is the only Matt Harmon promoting him, Harvey would likely see significant involvement if JK Dobbins were to miss time.

Insight page

Rome Odunze

PositiveValue120:56

Scott Pianowski highlights Rome Odunze as a nice value pick throughout the summer, noting that his explosive play-making ability is often overlooked by the market.

Insight page

Sam LaPorta

NegativeInjury104:10

Matt Harmon notes that Sam LaPorta is dealing with an injury, which creates a potential opportunity for other Lions pass catchers like Jamison Williams.

Insight page

Stefon Diggs

NegativeProjection100:53

Matt Harmon views Stefan Diggs as a floor-based player rather than an upside pick, noting that while he will be productive, his modest snap share limits his potential to reach the top 12 at the position.

Insight page

Tank Dell

NegativeInjury26:57

Dell is a major question mark due to a serious injury, with some Houston beat writers questioning his availability for Week 1; he should not be drafted in fantasy leagues at this time.

Insight page

Terry McLaurin

NegativeProjection102:12

Matt Harmon maintains a neutral stance on Terry McLaurin, noting that while he is fine at his current draft price, concerns about the Washington offensive line dampen his overall outlook.

Insight page

Tre Tucker

PositiveUsage20:12

Trey Tucker is the Raiders receiver most likely to lead the team in snaps; he is a solid zone-beater with elite speed, making him a viable late-round target in best ball formats, though he remains a waiver-wire candidate in traditional redraft leagues.

Insight page

Tyrone Tracy

NegativeBust114:05

Matt Harmon advises against drafting Tyron Tracy in standard leagues following a poor preseason performance that included a lost fumble and missed blitz assignments, compounded by the team signing Najee Harris.

Insight page

Woody Marks

PositiveSleeper27:29

Marks impressed during preseason action, playing all 10 snaps with C.J. Stroud on the first drive and showing proficiency in pass protection; he is an interesting deep-league flex option with upside if the starter were to miss time.

0:36I'm interested after getting some more clues on their wide receiver usage.
0:40Never falling for that one. Never falling for that one.
0:42I'm definitely gonna do it again. All that more come up on today's show.
0:46Let's get into it. What's going on everyone. I'm Matt Harmon.

2:13It already has started, but it's going to get even better here in the next couple of days because we are six days away from the news.
2:20I have been delivering to you for multiple weeks now.
2:23Yahoo fantasy draft weekend presented by verse is coming to Dick's house of the dicks house of dicks house of sport in
2:29the Buffalo area on Saturday, August 29th, three to 7 p.m.
2:32I'm going to be there. Justin Boone is going to be there.
2:35Josh Norris is going to be there for a special live edition of the Yahoo fantasy forecast.
2:40You're getting ready for your draft. There's quite literally no place else in the world that you should be.
2:45So if you're in the area, come on over.
2:48If you're not in the area, find a way to get there.
2:51Okay. This is, this is, this is is the most important event in all of August.
2:55Okay. The most important event. It's Saturday, August 29th at 3 p.m.
2:59Dick's house of sport in Amherst, New York. So we will see you all there.
3:03I better see you guys there. Come up and say hi to me.
3:06We're going to have an absolute blast of a time.
3:09All right. That's all the business at the top of the show here.
3:13Scott week two of the preseason is in the books.
3:15We're going to basically go in chronological order here because there's like nothing to say about some of these games.
3:21A lot to say about some of these other games, by the way, if you are listening to this on Monday, because
3:27you're one of our, you know, faithful audio folks, we love you guys just as much.
3:31We love the YouTube folks as well. We love all the, all of the viewers and listeners.
3:36We have not yet seen Seahawks Titans. So if there's anything important from that game that we missed, we will cover that on tomorrow's episode.
3:43So don't worry about that, but let's go all the way back to the beginning of the preseason slate here.
3:48Week two, 49ers, 41 chargers 17. Let's start on the 49ers side here.
3:52Scott, as a couple of rookies shined for the San Francisco 49ers, including Dazhon Stribling.
3:56He does it again. All right. He's in this inside outside role as the Z and big slot.
4:01Demarcus Robinson takes the starting role as the X receiver.
4:04Cause Mike Evans, obviously he's not playing Scott. We have been gassed up about Dazhon Stribling here on the show for quite some time.
4:10Um, but I feel like you as a smart and level headed man might be able to be the one to give
4:16some of us, uh, Stribbling bros a bit of a heat check.
4:20Are you willing to give a heat check on the 49ers rookie wide receiver?
4:24Who's the talk of the internet? Yeah. I'm give me a seat on that bandwagon too.
4:28You know, I always thought Juwan Jennings was a good player and Stribbling to me reminds me of just everything.
4:33Jennings does well, but he does it a little bit better.
4:36He's going to be a great blocker. He's going to earn Kyle Shanahan's trust and get on the field.
4:42He's obviously been productive in two preseason games. It's funny how the Thursday games, I feel like gave us more juice and anything that happened on the weekend.
4:49So I'm glad that we're starting with the 49ers.
4:52I think Stribbling is somebody you could draft as maybe the first receiver on your bench right now, like somewhere in that 40 to 50 range.
4:59And I normally wouldn't be that high on a rookie who wasn't drafted super early, but you look at that.
5:04What does San Francisco need? Right. This is a team with all their legacy guys.
5:09McCaffrey's in his thirties, Kittle's in his thirties, and Mike Evans is in his thirties.
5:13They're probably all going to the hall of fame, but this team needs a breath after fresh air, a young ascending player.
5:19And I think Stribbling can be that guy. And I love that he's already built up trust with, with the quarterback.
5:25He's already built up trust with the play caller.
5:27And I think he's going to have a big role right away.
5:30I think he's going to have a big role.
5:33You know, he might not come out and be an every down player, right?
5:37Like in this game, he comes on the field and 11 personnel, which is by the way, what Jawan Jennings originally was like pre 2024, Jawan Jennings.
5:44He was kind of the guy that was on the field as the big slot in 11 personnel.
5:49And this is obviously a team that plays with a fullback.
5:52They play multiple tight end sets. So, you know, we might see at the beginning of the season, Mike Evans and Debo
5:58Samuel as the X and Z receiver in 12 personnel.
6:01That's fine. Like again, I have Stribbling right now ranked as my 97th overall player in that receiver 40 to 50 range.
6:07As you mentioned, that doesn't mean you're going to come out there and start Stribbling in week one, but if he comes
6:13out there, Scott, and even just has a couple of targets, you know, and he runs around on 70% or even 60% of the dropbacks.
6:20I mean, that's a guy that you're going to want to hold and see if he can continue to climb that mountain
6:26because right now, like we're not seeing a ton of, you know, positivity on Debo Samuel.
6:30You know, he came into camp in great shape.
6:33That's awesome. But I just don't think he's going to be like a big factor in this offense.
6:38And again, the path to a bigger role for Stribbling is one of these players gets hurt or re-aggregates something and Kittle's coming off a major injury.
6:45I didn't mention Debo earlier, but he's obviously a back nine player too.
6:49I think he was maybe more productive in Washington last year than some people realize.
6:53But Stribbling's going to earn snaps and targets on merit.
6:55But if one of these guys gets hurt, man, maybe he becomes somewhat of a prioritized guy.
7:00So San Francisco knew its needs and love to see the injuries stop with this team.
7:05You know, we're all having the jokes about the transformer and everything and where they practice.
7:09But we want to see the best offenses healthy and on the field.
7:13And obviously Kyle Shanahan is a play designer. We want to get behind.
7:16But normally this would be the type of player – when there's like a rookie who wasn't a super high premium pick,
7:22who becomes the steam of the internet, normally I just fade that buzz.
7:26I'm allergic to it. But this is one case where I'm actually – we're all recommending Trident.
7:30I'm in on this case too. Yeah. I know you don't do as much like, you know, obviously charting routes on Ole Miss receivers like I do, Scott.
7:38But Josh has made this point – Josh Norris has made this point many times that in any other situation – I
7:44mean the fantasy community – and I know he's talked about all over the internet, but it's taken a while for Stribbling
7:50to really get steamed up draft boards. But in any other situation, the 33rd overall pick attached to a really good offense
7:56would be a guy that people are, you know, punching each other in the mouth to get on their fantasy teams.
8:02But it's taken a while for Stribbling because, you know, the stat sheet kind of – the spreadsheet evaluators, you know, the
8:08box score guys just – we had a lot of good work, by the way, you know, with the college statistical modeling.
8:14They were not as big into the Stribbling thing.
8:17So I think that's why it's taken a minute for him to really steam up ADP boards.
8:21But I bet by the time we're in Amherst, New York next weekend, there's going to be a lot more Stribbling hype from an ADP perspective.
8:28You mentioned 49ers injuries. Good news out of 49ers camp today for Matt Barrows.
8:32George Kittle and Christian McCaffrey are in uniform. His practice began earlier this afternoon.
8:36Christian McCaffrey, you know, he even said like his plan was always to miss a little bit of time in training camp
8:42just to heal up and feel better, you know, come in really fresh.
8:46That makes sense. I've mentioned this many times. He had the fourth most opportunities for any NFL back since the year 2007.
8:52So we know he dealt with a lot of touches last year.
8:55George Kittle coming off the pup list. We will see if he plays week one.
8:59Good news for the 49ers on an injury front here.
9:02And I think that's good for anyone looking to draft these two guys.
9:05I'm curious if you are excited for either of those two players.
9:09Also worth noting, too, just from the Niners preseason game, Scott, it looks like Kalen Black, another one of these controversial 49ers
9:15picks this year, has kind of locked up the RB2 job.
9:18He had some good work on the ground, a few key pass pro reps.
9:22I'm wondering if you think he should maybe be.
9:24One, I'm wondering if you're in on McCaffrey. And two, if you are or not, is Kalen Black kind of one of
9:30those top, you know, priority backup running backs at this point?
9:33Yeah, certainly a yes on the second thing. One of the things we want to do in the summer is figure out,
9:39as best we can, the running back hierarchy. We know McCaffrey on the back nine, off that heavy touch season, the efficiency really went down last year.
9:47He was saved by the workload and the usage that Kyle Shanahan gave him.
9:51Dervis to take McCaffrey in the middle of a first round.
9:54I'm going to slide towards a receiver there. And it pushed him to shove it a running back.
9:59I might even take Cook or Taylor over McCaffrey.
10:01McCaffrey is kind of a fade for me. But whether you're drafting McCaffrey and you want the insurance or you don't want
10:07to draft McCaffrey, but you're like, okay, who could be the next man up?
10:11I like what I've seen in Black. You mentioned him and he was just stoning guys in pass pro.
10:16And that's a great way to get on the field.
10:19Obviously, you don't get any stats for that, but it means they trust you.
10:23It means you can play in more packages. He has to be the second running back drafted off the 49ers depth chart.
10:29And you get a figure he has the leg up right now.
10:32Something we were trying to figure out all summer long.
10:35So, yeah, Jordan James is the other name who is in contention.
10:38He's dealt with injuries. So, right now, I would say that Kalen Black needs to be rocketed up draft boards.
10:44You know, again, in that tier of guys, the kind of Tank Bigsby, Mike Washington Jr., Marshawn Lloyd guys, I think he
10:50kind of belongs in that group as well. Because, yeah, if anything happened to McCaffrey, he would be instantly rocketed up the board.
10:56If he waver wires all that. So, really interesting stuff there from the 49ers.
11:00They got a lot of heat for those two picks, Scott.
11:03It's early. It's preseason. But those two picks are looking like they might help the Niners this year, which, frankly, they need.
11:09They need an injection, as you mentioned, of youth and athleticism.
11:12Plenty of youth and athleticism on the other side of this matchup here with the Chargers.
11:16I wouldn't say that we got as many big, big takeaways, but I'll just quickly run through my notes on the Chargers
11:22from the preseason game, and I'll let you react here.
11:25I think we got some tight end clarity in the room.
11:28Right now, I'd project it to be Charlie Kolar, David Njoku, then Arande Gadsden for tight end snaps this year.
11:34This feels very similar to when Mike McDaniel took over the Dolphins and immediately pushed Mike Gusecki, who was basically just a receiver to the side.
11:41It looks like they're kind of doing that with Arande Gadsden right now.
11:44So, interesting for a guy that was a really popular fantasy sleeper in the middle of last year.
11:49But it was Charlie Kolar as Nathan Yonke from Pro Football Focus, who I'm going to cite a couple of times during this episode.
11:56Anytime you hear me cite snap counts, I'm pretty much looking at Nathan's notes here.
12:00His work is essential. I would encourage everybody to go check it out on Pro Football Focus.
12:05He noted that Charlie Kolar was the solo tight end on the Chargers' first play out of 11 personnel.
12:10Charlie Kolar, definitely an interesting sleeper in that regard.
12:12Brennan Thompson, the rookie fourth rounder, started next to Ladd McConkie because QJ and Trey Harris didn't play.
12:17Keaton Mitchell moved around the formation, made an impressive play on a wheel route.
12:21That was interesting to see from Keaton Mitchell, who also, I think, was out of practice today on Sunday.
12:26So, keep an eye on that. But Scott, does any of it matter as we are once again facing injuries?
12:32And, you know, because I'm up and down play on the interior Chargers offensive line.
12:36Tyler Biotish now officially out for the season, season-ending IR.
12:39Rookie Jake Slaughter is going to take his spot.
12:41Cole Strange did not have a good night in this particular game.
12:44And they're not quite sure what they're doing at left guard just yet.
12:48So, what's your panic meter level on the Los Angeles Chargers interior offensive line as I give you all those notes about kind of the role players?
12:55And you hate to lose a center. It's maybe not as bad as the left tackle, but it's a very important part of the offensive line.
13:03We were just all dreaming of finally getting a clear run out with the Chargers because last year their offensive line imploded as soon as the season started.
13:10So, I'm concerned about it. At least it's just one piece.
13:13And I know that Harbaugh's been talking up Slaughter.
13:16What else is he going to say? Oh, we're really screwed.
13:19You know, we had an injury. We're not prepared for that.
13:22I mean, no coach is ever going to say that.
13:25But, and you're so right, by the way. I'm so glad you mentioned Nathan's work.
13:29I also didn't know how to pronounce his last name.
13:31So, thank you for that. He's doing unbelievable snap work over at PFF and is mandatory, especially as we try to look
13:38at in the nooks and crannies and try to do some subtle deciphering of what's going on with usage and player patterns
13:44and what depth charts might really look like. The big takeaway for me is a run against it is undraftable because they're going to use other tight ends.
13:51You know, Kolar will be on the field. Yeah, he'll be blocking.
13:55He'll be in packages that the tight end wasn't going to see a target anyway.
13:59But Gadsden's going to have to thread such a tight needle to be valuable this year.
14:03And I see in that tight end range where he was going somewhere, you know, from 12 to 22.
14:08There's so many other guys I want to draft anyway that Ronda Gadsden is basically not on my draft board right now.
14:14Talented player, but the situation just doesn't work out right now.
14:17Yeah, I would just check your dynasty waiver wires for Charlie Kolar.
14:21I did this in one of my leagues a couple of months ago, just looking to fill.
14:25It's a really it's a deeper league, a lot of bench spots, whatever.
14:29Last year, I had injury issues with Tucker Craft on this team, and I just kind of looked around and said, hey,
14:35Charlie Kolar signed a pretty decent deal with the Chargers, stuck him on the end of this bench, because I know he's
14:41pitched as a blocking only tight end. And look, he is a good blocker.
14:45That is probably the primary reason why they signed him.
14:48But he was a really productive receiver in college.
14:50So I just want people to kind of put a pin in the Charlie Kolar thing.
14:54I know that he is the guy that's pretty much not ranked on any fantasy site because David Njoku is a bigger name.
15:01And obviously, Gadsden, you mentioned, was drafted pretty highly and productive throughout the course of the offseason here.
15:06But just keep in mind, Charlie Kolar, he's going to be look, shoot.
15:09If they're going to have all these offensive line injuries, Rayshon Slater is still looking to get all the way back from the patella tendon injury.
15:16I mean, he's going to be on the field a ton.
15:19So when they get into the end zone, I could see like a six, like if this offense still goes nuclear, I
15:26could see like a six touchdown season in line for Charlie Kolar.
15:29Basically, what Will Disley was for this team a couple of years ago.
15:32And I'm not afraid to say, I streamed some Will Disley that year when he fell backwards into a few touchdowns here and there.
15:39Let me ask you this. Has some of the drumbeat for Keaton Mitchell, has it made you any less interested in a Marian Hampton?
15:46Yeah, I'm a little bit behind ADP on a Marian Hampton, not like totally fading, kind of he's more of a guy
15:52that I'm letting the room just decide if he's going to come to me.
15:55You know, I've got guys like A-Chan ahead of him.
15:58I've got Kenneth Walker, Derek Henry ahead of him.
16:01Saquon Barkley, definitely ahead of him. A guy like Nico Collins, even Chase Brown.
16:05I think I would take Chase Brown ahead of a Marian Hampton.
16:08So to me, I haven't clicked Hampton a lot, which I'm nervous that I'm going to miss out on something pretty sick.
16:14But at the same time, there's enough pop about the Keaton Mitchell stuff.
16:17Kamani Vidal is still a pass protector that they really like.
16:20And there's a lot of receiving weapons here too, as well, Scott.
16:24It's not like Marian Hampton, I think, is going to catch 60 passes or something this year.
16:28So to me, I'm not fading Amari and Hampton.
16:31I just think that other people are a little bit more excited.
16:34And certainly if there's going to be issues on the interior offensive line, like Tyler Biotish being out is a big deal.
16:40It makes me all of that together, in addition to the Keaton Mitchell pop, does make me just a touch behind ADP on Amari and Hampton.
16:47Yeah, well said. And I concur pretty much with everything you said.
16:51It's like a death by a thousand cuts. It's not one major piece that puts down Hampton, but there is a drumbeat for Mitchell.
16:57The center's hurt. There's another, maybe three backs that they trust.
17:00And McDaniel seemed to really want to add Mitchell.
17:03I think at the end of draft season, the player on this team, I'm going to have the most shares of is Ladd McConkie.
17:09I haven't backed off him at all. He's still a super proactive pick for me.
17:14But I heard you ticking off all those names, like Brown and Barkley, and even A-Chan on a Miami team that we're concerned about.
17:20I would take all those guys over Hampton. And Nico Collins was just basically going to get every other target in Houston, it feels like.
17:27Yeah, guys, I would. So Hampton has become a yellow light pick to me and maybe even trending towards the red light.
17:33And a lot of it, it's just a case of, I like Chase Brown a lot more.
17:38I feel a lot safer about him. Barkley, I feel a lot safer about.
17:42So sometimes it's just a matter of, it's not that I'm so much against Hampton, but players in his range, I seem to like better.
17:48All right, let's go to the next game here.
17:51Raiders 22, Texans 20. On the Raiders side of things, Fernando Mendoza had some up and down moments in this one.
17:57I wouldn't say that he comes out of it looking like, oh yeah, we're pushing to start Fernando Mendoza in week one.
18:03I think it's still the plan is on for Kirk Cousins to start for a good bit of the season this year.
18:09Mike Washington Jr., it might have been at fault, Scott, for the interception that Fernando Mendoza threw.
18:13But other than that, great night for Mike Washington, who is super explosive on the ground.
18:18He played 22 of 26 snaps with the starter, according to Nathan from PFF, as we mentioned earlier.
18:23And I think we did get some clarity in the wide receiver rotation too.
18:27Trey Tucker rested with the starters. And then Jalen Naylor did play while Trey Tucker rested with the starters.
18:32Jack Besch remains their slot receiver. And Clint Kubiak said after the game that they're still looking for answers in this spot.
18:38So what grabs you from the Raiders preseason game on Thursday?
18:41Yeah, I love Kubiak. He's kind of from the Liam Cohen school.
18:44He's not going to sugarcoat it in the interviews.
18:47He's going to give it to you straight, which I appreciate.
18:50We have too many coaches who practically want to deny they even played a game an hour earlier.
18:55But Washington, man, pops on the screen. We know he dominated the combine.
18:58He is the clear number two. And maybe the Raiders haven't said it, but he has to be the clear backup if
19:04you're going to ensure with Gentee or you just want to take him.
19:08I always say, take somebody else's backups. Don't necessarily back up your own guys in August, but be the person who's hoping to get lucky in Las Vegas.
19:16Not that we want Gentee to get hurt, but who would benefit.
19:19Yeah, Washington, I think, could go to the moon in that situation.
19:22Very excited about him. Do you see a receiver here who's draftable for you?
19:26I would love to have somebody step up. And I know sometimes the best thing you can say about somebody is, well,
19:32they rested him with other starters, so he's a priority.
19:35But sometimes you just like to see the proof of concept on the field.
19:39Have you been drafting anybody in this passing game?
19:41Not counting Bowers, of course, but everything else. Have you been drafting anybody else proactively with a late pick?
19:46I think all of these guys are solid NFL players.
19:49Trey Tucker, Jalen Naylor, Jack Bashling is a solid NFL player.
19:52Malik Benson is probably, he didn't have the best night in the world, but I think he's probably Trey Tucker's backup.
19:58And they have been excited about him as like another speed receiver.
20:01I think all those guys are useful NFL players.
20:04So in best ball formats, I've been sprinkling, you know, some of these Raider receivers, but I'm not sure that any of
20:10them is a must draft in traditional redraft leagues.
20:12If you are taking one, though, I do think we've gotten some pretty decent signal that Trey Tucker is the guy that's
20:18going to play the most snap for this team.
20:21And Trey Tucker's reception perception profile will actually be up on the site on Monday morning because I am such a sick
20:27freak that I'm like, yeah, let's spend the weekend charting some Trey Tucker.
20:30He's got some skills, Scott. Like he's definitely not a complete player, but solid zone beater can definitely win on the downfield routes.
20:37And I mean, Nate has been pointing this out.
20:39He is truly one of the fastest NFL receivers in the game.
20:42So again, that's probably a better and best ball format.
20:45It's probably just a waiver wire. Hey, I know this guy's going to be on the field a ton, and maybe he
20:51hits a couple of big plays for me. But Tucker's the guy that I think should be ranked first, and that will
20:57be reflected in my latest rankings update. But we're definitely still looking for clues kind of beyond that.
21:02Yeah, again, well said. I had Naylor above Tucker most of the summer, but I think it's time to make a flip on that.
21:09Not that either one of these guys is somebody I'm planting a flag on, but if I have to have a Raider
21:15receiver in this room, I guess Tucker would make the most sense.
21:18So I'm going to follow you on that. Yeah, Tucker's just more tactically valuable too for a team that wants to open
21:24it up in the short and intermediate area to get Brock Bowers a bazillion targets this year.
21:29I am going to just quickly before we move off the Raiders, I'm going to ask you the same question that I asked Hayden Winks on Thursday.
21:36And Hayden had a pretty clear answer. The internet did not like his answer for the most part.
21:41So I'm going to ask you, does the Mike Washington Ascension here give you any pause for clicking Ashton Gentry as like a late first round pick?
21:49Last week his ADP on Yahoo was 15th overall.
21:51I've said I've kind of hovered between 15th and 12th overall basically throughout the entire summer.
21:55Still not exactly sure where he's going to fit there once we get to true draft weekend here for me.
22:01But does the Mike Washington Ascension, coupled with Scott all the way back in February at the NFL Scouting Combine, I will
22:07remind us that there was a kerfuffle when Clint Gubiak said like, yeah, he wants a two-back system.
22:12I think they have a two-back system right now.
22:14It's just like, what do you push the dials on for Gentry's workload versus Mike Washington?
22:19Where do you fall down on that? Again, I feel like I'm a half step behind on Gentry.
22:24I know some people see him as a first round pick.
22:27I've even seen some people take him at the top of the first round, which seems a little bit wish-casting to me.
22:33But Washington, why couldn't he get, I don't know, six to ten touches a week?
22:37Why couldn't this be a poor man's version of Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet, which Kubiak obviously ran those guys through a Super Bowl last year?
22:44I had reasons not to draft Gentry anyway. And again, a lot of times it's just a case of, I think Chase Brown is the perfect second-round pick.
22:52And a lot of times I'm facing that Brown or Gentry pick and I'm going to click on Brown, just feel a
22:58little bit better about their offensive infrastructure, even though Clint Kubiak is certainly a designer that we respect.
23:03I'm going to hold, my Gentry rank hasn't moved with Washington kind of getting some buzz, but it's only because I think
23:09I was a half step behind to begin with.
23:11Yeah, I'm going to really take a good look at that tomorrow.
23:15Again, when I'm doing some rankings updates, just in terms of like, I probably will still keep him as a top ten back for sure, Ashton Gentry.
23:22I'm not too worried about that. It's just, again, the overall, where does he fit as a second-round pick, late first-round pick, the whole deal.
23:29So I am really curious to see as we continue to kind of get some clues on that.
23:34Because, yeah, I mean, you mentioned the Seattle backfield.
23:36Weirdly, Scott, I think Ashton Gentry is kind of like a rich man's, like a really rich man's.
23:41Like, we're talking cashed in the 401k, generational wealth version of Zach Charbonnet.
23:45And Mike Washington is kind of maybe a poor man's Kenneth Walker.
23:48And look, we saw obviously the guy that they really liked was Zach Charbonnet on the critical down and distances.
23:54I think this will still be Gentry's backfield. I don't think the two things have to be mutually exclusive.
23:59Gentry is going to be great in the system.
24:01But I also think a team that's looking for explosive plays, like we just talked about that receiver room, they're looking for some pop.
24:08Mike Washington clearly gives them some pop. So I'm going to continue to kind of talk through this whole process here over the next few weeks.
24:15How concerned are you with cousins or Mendoza when we see him, that they'll be able to sustain enough offense that you
24:21could take a Gentry in the first or second round and feel good about it?
24:25A little. I mean, you got to be a little bit concerned.
24:29Nate and I did the episode last week that this is one of the offenses that it once again has the biggest
24:35gap between where we are taking their fantasy players.
24:37These top two guys, because we have two top 20 overall picks here with the Raiders and nobody expects them to be
24:43anything but like a bottom 10 offense in the NFL.
24:46So I feel better about I just don't take a lot of hours because of like structurally the way I'm building teams this year.
24:52It's not that I'm out on Bowers. I probably end up with I probably end up taking more gente than Bowers just
24:58because of the way I want to build my teams from a position standpoint.
25:02But I think that has to be a small concern.
25:05The good thing is I really trust this coaching staff and I think Cousins is good enough to keep the train on the track.
25:12So it's like a small worry, but not at zero worry if that makes sense.
25:16It's a big tiebreaker for me with those early picks.
25:19Does this offense have a lookout below risk, right?
25:21That's why a Chan a lot of times when he's up against somebody else, like do I really want to spend three months tied to the Miami offense?
25:29No, I don't feel quite that bad. The Dolphins may be the worst or second worst team in football.
25:34I don't feel that bad above the Raiders. And I think Kubiak was the right hire.
25:38Obviously, he's got a long history of designing interesting offenses, but Cousins, I still don't trust.
25:43Mendoza is a rookie. He looked kind of shaky in this game.
25:46We have to be realistic. Also, I mean, his profile rose so much in his Heisman trophy year last year.
25:52I mean, people weren't over the moon for Mendoza a year ago.
25:55We have to keep that in mind as well.
25:57I'm going to break a lot of those early round ties with, is there a lookout below risk on this offense?
26:03And maybe I want to go in a different direction.
26:06Yep. I think that makes a lot of sense.
26:08That's why I'm really struggling to, should I have Ashton Gentry behind Derrick Henry and Kenneth Walker?
26:13I don't know. I like those two offenses a little bit better than I do with the Raiders.
26:18I mean, yes, you should. I'm sorry. Yes, you should.
26:21Yeah. Derrick Henry, man, he's another guy. I'm so happy to take him in round two.
26:25He's going to fall in the end zone 13 times.
26:28He shows, unlike McCaffrey, Derrick Henry shows no slippage in his game.
26:31His efficiency stats are still really good. And now we're all excited about Declan Doyle in Baltimore.
26:36Yeah, I think if, if Chase Brown is a perfect second round pick, Derrick Henry isn't far behind in my mind.
26:42Real quick on the Texans before we get to break, we didn't have a ton to get through here, but just state
26:48of the union on wide receiver two, as we lost Jaden Higgins for the season last week.
26:52We didn't get a lot from this game because Jalen Null is still working his way back from injury.
26:57Tank Dell is a major, major question mark. There are some Houston B writers that aren't even sure if he's going to
27:04be ready for week one, because he is coming back from a serious injury and he's not like, you should not be
27:10drafting tank Dell in your fantasy leagues right now.
27:12That's, that's the long and short of that one.
27:15Xavier Hutchinson or somebody off the roster might be the wide receiver too, unless Jalen Null can get back in here and make up a ton of ground.
27:22And that's the guy that I would bet on.
27:25Cause I think Null's a good player. And then otherwise Woody Marks did impress last night.
27:29I see me last night. God, a Thursday played all 10 snaps with CJ Stroud on the first drive.
27:34He stood out and pass pro as well, which by the way is one of the key claims to Dave Montgomery being the workhorse here.
27:41So Scott, any quick thoughts on the Texans office?
27:44Yeah. Houston too close to new Orleans. Are you buying this idea that Dalton Schultz could be the big winner with that
27:50wide receiver room being unsettled or I know we, we love to make trades.
27:54I mean the Patriots, Keishon booty, he'd be a good fit here.
27:57Maybe they'll pick up somebody who's cut or they can work something out.
28:00In the meantime, I'm just dreaming of the target share.
28:03We're going to see for Nico Collins. Cause it could, it could be like something like what JSN got last year, just
28:09something ridiculous that you don't see or Puka, you know, these stratospheres that people generally don't live in.
28:14I have moved up Schultz. I mean, not to anything crazy.
28:17I'd still rather have Jawan Johnson, another tight end who's benefited from wide receiver injury, but marks to me is, I'm not
28:23going to draft Montgomery marks to me is an interesting, maybe he's quasi playable right away in a deeper league.
28:29One of those, what the heck flexes that Sigmund bloom would talk about.
28:32And I think Woody marks actually has some kind of a whiff of some fun upside if Montgomery were to get hurt.
28:38So marks is a player open to drafting, proactive to drafting Schultz is that second tight end.
28:43I'm okay with it. Like we've obviously you and I, as long as we've known each other, we've always been in on Nico Collins.
28:50So I'm, I'm in with that. I would love for somebody to emerge, you know, Dell being healthy or Noel showing, showing something.
28:56I just don't see any of the receiver right now being draftable in the standard league.
29:00I'd have, they'd have to fight their way off the waiver wire.
29:04And if I miss them in round 16, round 18, I'm not going to worry about it.
29:08The other key name here is rookie tight end, Marlon Klein, who is mostly a blocker, but I do think has some receiving upside as well.
29:15Nate was really high on him throughout the draft process.
29:18So honestly, I think this is a team that's going to play out of a lot of 12 personnel.
29:23So I agree with you. Schultz probably, I mean, should he be in the Jake Ferguson, Mark Andrews tier of fantasy tight ends right now?
29:30Those guys go much, much earlier on Yahoo than a guy like Dalton Schultz does.
29:34I think, yes, that makes sense. We know what Dalton Schultz is reliable receiver, but Klein is a good deep sleeper, best ball as well.
29:41He's been good in the preseason so far. There's been a lot of really good reviews on him at a training camp.
29:47So those are the two tight ends. I think expect to play a lot for this year.
29:52And again, just, I want to see what Jalen Noel can do.
29:55He's back at practice right now, but he hasn't participated in team stuff yet because I'm just not sure where tank Dell is physically right now.
30:02And there's a lot more questions than answers, but yeah, I do think the answer in terms of targets, it's going to
30:08be a lot of Nico Collins targets. So that's why I've been ahead of ADP on him basically throughout the entire summer.
30:14But yeah, I think Klein and Jalen Noel are the sleepers here and we know what Schultz and Diego Collins are, but
30:21we are going to take a break here because we spent way too much time on the two games, but luckily there's some ones that we can see.
30:28Those are the good games. We're going to get into.
30:31Yeah, those are. Yeah. Well, there we go. We're going to get into all that right after this.
30:36All right, we're back. Continuing to recap preseason week two with my guy, Scott Pianowski here next game up.
30:41I almost read this wrong because it wouldn't make sense in the regular season, but it makes sense in the preseason here.
30:47Jets 17 Steelers zero here. Got to say, Scott Jets offense looked pretty good.
30:51Jets starting offense looked pretty good. The Frank like experience off to a hot start against the Steelers defense.
30:56Here are my notes on the Jets offense where we'll start.
30:59Omar Cooper moves up the depth chart after what was a, you know, troubling couple of reports like, Oh, is he behind
31:05Isaiah Williams for the starting slot receiver job may have been a slight overreaction.
31:09I was watching this game live as it happened.
31:12I noted that Omar Cooper jr. Was out with the starting Jets offense for the first two plays of the preseason game.
31:18He was off the field for the third, fourth and fifth snap, all of which came out of a two wide receiver.
31:24Look, Mason Taylor was the move tight end in those looks and Jeremy Rucker at the inline tight end.
31:29That is interesting to know because Mason Taylor continued to play in the game after the starters left.
31:34Is he the move tight end? Can you like, how can you speak when he gets back?
31:39I don't think you should be drafting either of those guys, but that's a little bit of an interesting note there.
31:44And then of course it was good to see Cooper run with the starters.
31:48He played a little bit longer than some of the starters, but there was a big freak out about him.
31:54I still feel good about Cooper's career longterm. Of course, I'm not pronouncing a rookie like it's over before it even starts.
32:00But that being said, from a fantasy standpoint, he is going to struggle to get on the field as that slot only player.
32:06It looks like for the jets, because 80 Mitchell is locked in at X Garrett Wilson locked in at Z.
32:12And honestly, both of those guys looked really good in this game.
32:15Gino Smith are also look pretty good. Like I said, the Frank Greg offense looked pretty good.
32:20I know it's the preseason, obviously not going to go get crazy, but the jets off in the preseason, but this is
32:26definitely outside of Garrett Wilson and Brees Hall, Scott and offense where you can find some starters late in your drafts.
32:31Thoughts on the jets after a preseason game here.
32:34Yeah. Mitchell is the one guy after the big two who I'm open as, you know, my fourth, fifth, sixth receiver, depending
32:40on your format and league penetration Cooper. I'm not going to draft in a redraft all the tight ends.
32:45You have to ignore. And I, and I hate doing that because Sadiq, obviously is an interesting prospect.
32:50He was a good player at Oregon. He did very well at the combine.
32:54He's an intelligent player. I think he's going to have a nice career and maybe Cooper will too, but I'm not going
33:00to pay anything for that this year. And if they beat me in a redraft, I can live with it.
33:05Frank Reich still makes me nervous. I still think Frank Reich is a recycled bad idea.
33:10A guy who, you know, we had a respectable backup career and moments in the NFL.
33:14Obviously the big comeback was on his watch and did some nice things as a coach and a coordinator for a while,
33:20but I don't think he's a right answer now.
33:23And I wish the jets had gone a little bit more modern with their offense moving forward.
33:27Hopefully Geno Smith can be better than what they had last year.
33:31I'm just dying to see Garrett Wilson play someday with a plus quarterback.
33:34Reese Hall have a healthy season because those guys can be difference makers.
33:38Mitchell though, to me is somebody at the end of draft season.
33:41I think I'll be a little bit overweight on.
33:44I am pro on Mitchell. Man, he looked good in this game.
33:47I posted the graphic again. Like I know I could get hurt again, but I, I think I'm ready to get hurt again by Garrett Wilson.
33:54Yeah, I know how it ends. I get it.
33:57But Geno Smith, like I said, look pretty good.
33:59This is, there is a good offensive line in front of him.
34:02We just need Frank Reich to be like, not a net negative, which in fairness, he was a net negative last time
34:08we saw him in 2023 with the Carolina Panthers.
34:11But I'm comfortable with where Garrett Wilson goes. I'm very much into 80 Mitchell as a late round pick.
34:16He's going to be boom bust totally, but you don't get clear starting receivers that late in the draft, if not just outright undraftable sometimes.
34:23So yeah, Mitchell is definitely an enigmatic player. I posted his reception perception charting over.
34:27Well, I posted it last Monday on the site, and then I tweeted about it this past weekend.
34:32He's just such a funny player, Scott, because he is such an, he's the way that his splits work in terms of man versus press coverage is crazy.
34:40Like he literally has a six percentile success rate versus zone 82nd percentile success rate versus press.
34:44Like he's just such a, a fun house mirrors player, but that late in your draft, why not take a shot on
34:5080 Mitchell, who is definitely talented, just needs to kind of put it all together.
34:55So again, jets offense, nice showing for them, but I think we got some clarity on the receiver usage, which was good to see.
35:01Not much to report for the Steelers. They played a bunch of backups, especially the quarterback, but we did see the running backs in this game.
35:08Jalen Warren started and then went drive by drive with Rico Dowdle.
35:12I don't know if I'm reading too, too much into that, but just curious, how are you evaluating this backfield right now?
35:18Yeah. I hope the drafting both of them, I think both Warren and Dowdle are going to be progressively used, proactively used in the passing game.
35:25Aaron Rogers does not want to drop back, does not want to take hits.
35:29He turned Kenneth game. Well, I don't know if I'm going to go into Marshall Falk at times last year.
35:34Gamewell did have the best hands on the team.
35:37And of course, got the big contracts with Tampa Bay.
35:39Warren's my preference of the two guys. And, you know, ADP would back that up as well, but I actually don't think Dowdle is a bad pick either.
35:47The Steelers are going to be a very boring team.
35:50They're going to be, I think very similar to last year.
35:53They're not really good. They're not really terrible. They're on the cusp of playoff contention.
35:57Maybe one of their games will get flexed a Sunday night.
36:00It's like, Oh, do I really want to watch the 500 Steelers?
36:03Well, I guess they're kind of technically still in the playoff race.
36:07So it's the best game that NBC can come up with.
36:10Not, you know, I'm done with Aaron Rogers. I'm so ready for that story to be over.
36:14It's kind of hard to trust their receivers for different reasons, but the player I'd most like to have on this offense is Jalen Warren.
36:21Yeah, I'm into taking both backs. By the way, I think producer Colin, let me know.
36:25We got a YouTube comment last week saying that we just don't talk about the Steelers offense at all.
36:31By the way, number one, I want to do a, maybe not a whole show, but maybe a segment of a show at the end of August.
36:38You guys didn't talk about these guys enough. So if there is a player, a team that you feel like we are
36:44not talking about enough, send it to fantasy mailbag at yahoo sports.com.
36:47And I say that one more time, fantasy mailbag at yahoo sports.com.
36:51Get the accusations in there. We will do a segment on, you didn't talk about these guys enough.
36:56Cause I do want to make sure we cover everything that you guys want to know.
37:00So I think the thing that is just been tough about the Steelers is we don't know a lot about the backfield, as you mentioned, Scott.
37:07And then for the receivers, DK Metcalf, they won't even say what he's out with, but he's missed a ton of practice time.
37:14Don't know what's going on there. Michael Pittman has also been banged up.
37:17So it's kind of, well, are you really into Jeremy Bernard or Roman Wilson as the wide receiver three?
37:22That's been a camp battle. So I think that's beyond just the Steelers malaise of the offense.
37:27We actually just don't have a lot of clarity about roles right now because players are missing time, but I still am
37:33way ahead of consensus on Michael Pittman. For those of you that want me to talk about Steelers stuff, like I think
37:39Michael Pittman is going to lead this team in receiving.
37:42And I have him like obnoxiously high relative to ADP, which makes no sense because he's probably not a big upside pick.
37:48Yeah. But you know, the fancy points guys have been making that point to the in breaking route.
37:53Players are generally more valuable for fantasy. So maybe that's a feather in Pittman's cap.
37:57I'll also point out just to help us, you know, add the pitch count on the Pittsburgh Steelers offense.
38:02I think Chris Boswell is going to be a top 10 kicker.
38:06You probably get them in your last round. And even though Pittsburgh is generally a very difficult, that one part of the
38:12stadium seems to be a wind tunnel, but Boswell is somebody, I think this is another team that's kind of like Houston.
38:18How can we win 22 to 10? How can we win 19 to 13?
38:21A lot of rock fights and a lot of field goal Boswell for, you know, that type of thing.
38:27So, and I know some people say, Hey, get rid of the kickers.
38:30They shouldn't exist. I say, keep them. I want as many different data points to try to beat my opponents.
38:36And I think Chris Boswell fits that strategy nicely.
38:38Scotty just checked off two boxes for us there.
38:41Kicker talk and Steelers talk. There you go. Okay.
38:43Next game up here. That was Panthers 34, Jaguars 17, Carolina Panthers side here.
38:47First got some more clue. Actually got a good bit of information off of the Panthers here.
38:52Starting in the passing game. Uh, Bryce young has now been on the field for 20 snaps with his top two wide receivers this season.
38:59Tedrow McMillan and Jalen Coker have an identical slot to outside rate in those snaps.
39:0360% outside, 40% inside for both of those wide receivers.
39:05I think given their skillset that actually can stick into the regular season.
39:09Uh, Tedrow McMillan had a big explosive play off of a reception from the slot in this game.
39:14So promises made promises kept. It's looking like for Tedrow McMillan playing more in the slot for the Carolina Panthers.
39:19Uh, again, Chris Brazel was a talking point when they lost him for the season.
39:24Like, can they pull this off? Xavier Leggett didn't play in this game because he was hurt in practice, but he's taken every, all four of his snaps.
39:31So not very many in the, in the, uh, preseason have been outside.
39:35So like Coker is the key here to them being able to play McMillan more in the slot.
39:40They will do that. Also, Jonathan Brooks with Chuba Hubbard banged up, played 12 of 13 snaps with Bryce young.
39:45He popped in a touchdown as well. So, uh, state of the union on the Panthers offense here, Scott, this might be the team.
39:52I draft the least amount of shares of anybody.
39:54McMillan is a good player, but he's tied to Bryce young and that makes me nervous.
39:59And I think Coker is a good player too.
40:01And maybe there's a more narrow gap in their usage than what some people might want to believe.
40:06The price tag on McMillan, on McMillan and him being tied to young out on him, Jonathan Brooks, people just can't keep their feet on the ground.
40:14They wanted him so badly to ascend past Chuba Hubbard.
40:16Look, I mean, Hubbard has gotten the contract. He's a team, I think believes a team captain Brooks, of course has more upside.
40:23He's younger, but he's had the two ACL blowouts.
40:25It's been such a long time since we've seen him really do just about anything.
40:29So it was nice to see him active scoring and looking pretty good in this preseason game.
40:34But I think people are over their skis for Brooks.
40:37And again, you know, the team with offensive line injuries.
40:39I know there were a playoff team last year with a losing record.
40:43I could see them easily falling back to the four or five win range.
40:47Don't trust the quarterback. He's not getting any taller.
40:49Coker, I would like at the right price, but he's just a depth player.
40:53I think Brooks is set up to be a trap.
40:56I think McMillan is a little bit, maybe a half round overpriced.
40:59Pretty much count me out on the Carolina Panthers in 26.
41:0286th overall ADP on Jonathan Brooks over the last seven days on Yahoo.
41:06I think that's fine. Scott, it definitely only because it dries up so quickly in terms of upside running backs, but I get it.
41:12You're drafting off of a guy that has touched the ball 12 times in his NFL career.
41:17There's, there's not a lot. If you can get, if you can get that price, I'm fine with it.
41:22I, I've in the drafts I've been in, he's going, he's going to get when he goes like the fifth or six.
41:28Like that's, I totally agree with you. That is too much, but 86th overall, I think is still palatable for Jonathan Brooks there.
41:35Just on the receivers. I think I'm fine with where McMillan goes.
41:38And Coker, I do think is too cheap, but I get it that I'm also buying into a little bit of a
41:44schematic change up for the Panthers here that may or may not happen.
41:48So I'm going to go the other way on the Panthers receivers, but I might just be talent pilled on that one.
41:54Cause I think these guys are so, so good.
41:56And I think the usage will be really awesome for these two receivers, but I get it.
42:01If you want to just say, we know what Bryce young is.
42:04That's not getting any better on that front. Totally understand you on that particular issue on the Jaguars.
42:09The other team that played in this game, not much here.
42:12No one of note played Jacoby Myers, though. We did get some news that he may miss some time with an injury.
42:18I believe it's a hand injury that he's dealing with right now.
42:21It's in a brace after jamming it might miss a week, might miss week one.
42:25We don't know. We'll see. It's a, it's a receiver, obviously hand injury, not ideal.
42:30What we do know is that it is unlikely that Travis Hunter based on reports is going to be like the guy
42:36that steps in and starts at receiver. Cause kind of sounds like he's the number two X receiver and him and Brian Thomas jr.
42:42Are going to rotate. So we might see some of like the rookies and depth pieces, take some snaps in the wake of the Jacoby Myers injury.
42:50If he does miss any time. Yeah. All of a sudden it's like, I don't want to draft Brian Thomas sacrificial X.
42:56I don't want to draft Travis Hunter. Just not going to play enough on offense.
43:00Can't draft Jacoby Myers. If he's not maybe available for week one, Parker, Washington, ADP and buzz is going to the moon,
43:06but I have been in on that and I'm trying to be proactive, but I like, I I'm going to have some FOMO shares of Washington.
43:13I don't want to be sitting that one out.
43:15Maybe Brenton strange, a little bit underserved in the tight end market.
43:19One other thing with Jacksonville, we talk a lot, Matt about the fast start.
43:23We want to get off to their early season schedule is a meat grinder.
43:26And then of course they have the Europe trip.
43:29And sometimes that can throw a wrench into things.
43:31Remember it was, it ended really well in Jacksonville last year.
43:34And Trevor Lawrence was winning leagues. The end of last year and Jacoby Myers was playing great football in Washington took off.
43:40And that's that drum beat has extended into the summer this year, but it didn't start so well.
43:45And I'm afraid that this could be, it's going to be what's wrong with Jacksonville stories.
43:50Unlike October 1st, I'd be really careful with this team.
43:53The good news is if you do want exposure to any Jacksonville Jaguars, there's not a single player of theirs going in
43:59the top 60 and Yahoo drafts right now. So these are, I think priced appropriately with some of that speculation in terms of the workload and everything.
44:06But yeah, Parker Washington, we'll see where he finishes in final ADP, but this is our platform has been one of the
44:12easiest places to get some Parker Washington exposure, but we'll be updating all the ADP stuff over the next few days here.
44:18But I feel like as a staff, all we do is write about Parker Washington.
44:22I feel, I feel like he's almost become like what Tucker craft was for us last year.
44:27Yeah, I think that's fair. I think that's fair.
44:29And I really like Parker Washington as well. Okay.
44:32We're going to take another quick break. We come back.
44:35We're rolling through more preseason games. We'll get into that right after this.
44:38All right, we're back next game up here. Bills 31 Browns seven, honestly, nothing to say on the bills.
44:43Okay. Nothing, nothing to say on the bills. We don't have no one of note played.
44:48We can just keep skip right ahead on Buffalo.
44:50I feel like that's a team. We'll talk about planning.
44:53Of course, the next few weeks Browns though, a lot going on here for one, before we get to the big story,
44:59we did see Denzel Boston play in this game while all other starting skill position players rested, including Casey Concepcion.
45:05I think that's really bullish on the round one rookie wide receiver, Scott, because there's like, we've seen, you know, Todd Monk
45:11and saw him in one preseason games. Like I've seen enough.
45:14I'm gonna get that guy. A lot of touches this year.
45:17Let's go to work. Very, very excited for my guy, Casey Concepcion.
45:20I'm excited for Denzel Boston too, who I think Scott played in this game so that they could give Shador Sanders one
45:26reliable, good target to throw to as they continue to try to evaluate him in the first team offense amid the quarterback competition.
45:32Speaking of said quarterback competition, we've got a lot going on here for that one.
45:36I would say my take Scott after this weekend, the Browns cannot possibly play Deshaun Watson ever again amid that performance, which was once again, a disaster.
45:44And then he gave, I mean, a podium session that was like essentially the self-awareness of a potato.
45:49That was insane. Talking about the fans and, you know, getting booed and all this stuff.
45:53I saw Daniel Jeremiah on NFL network right afterward.
45:56And I think, again, I'm completely editorializing when I say his minus 50 self-awareness comments is what happened at the podium when, when Watson was discussing the booze.
46:03Um, he, DJ indicated that he thinks that Watson said that airing frustration, knowing that like his time with this team is, is probably over.
46:10Um, the Browns are going to name a starting quarterback on Monday, according to, uh, Jeremy Fowler and Todd Monken said that
46:16Deshaun Watson's postgame comments will not impact his QB one decision.
46:19So a lot going on here, Scott. Uh, but my guess right now is that Watson's time with the Cleveland Browns.
46:25They, they really, really tried to force this just because of sunk cost fallacy.
46:29Honestly, my guess right now is he never takes another snap for this team.
46:33Yeah. Nobody who will be missed. Imagine just selling your soul and your franchise.
46:37And all your assets for a guy who can't play, who might be a bad dude.
46:41And we'll just all be better off when the Watson story is over.
46:45Now. I don't think shooter Sanders is dripping with self-awareness either.
46:48I mean, remember that shrine to himself on draft day.
46:50It's like, you know, come on, you know, have a little humility and have a little sense of who you are.
46:56But I thought Sanders with little to help, you know, in this game, you mentioned Boston did play, but most of the guys, main guys didn't.
47:03I thought Sanders played pretty well. I'm not sure the interception was his fault and maybe I have to squint to see it.
47:10But if there's any upside in this quarterback room, it has to be Sanders.
47:13If I were a Cleveland Brown fan or if I was a fantasy manager interested in drafting, whether it's Judkins or Fannin
47:19or one of their receivers, and they have some interesting receivers, I would want Sanders starting on opening day.
47:25And I think we'll get that. That's been my stance all along.
47:28Honestly, I just had Mark Sessler and Dan Hanses on my other show, reception perception of the show.
47:33And, you know, Mark is a Browns fan. And we were talking about this essentially.
47:37That's like, what's the point of starting to Sean Watson?
47:40Like, just get a look at Sanders for as long as you can.
47:43You know, Dylan Gabriel still on this roster. Taylor Green is on this roster.
47:47Like just let the young guys go at it this year and see what happens, especially because Sanders, while a clearly flawed,
47:53like flawed player in his own right, Scott, he's not the most talented guy.
47:57He definitely creates a lot of his own problems when on the field pressures and all that.
48:02And it takes too many sacks and the whole deal.
48:05Not great as an improvisational player. He plays like he's more athletic than he is, but when he is actually playing on time in rhythm is he's accurate.
48:12Like he can get the football out. And again, it's just some of all the other little things, which I, number one,
48:18don't think he's hopeless, but number two, like if you, if you just want to want somebody to get the football in
48:24the hands of Casey and, and fan, and especially the guys that will actually be draftable in Yahoo leagues, it is crazy
48:30how no one wants to draft Jerry Judy. And like, I'm not the biggest Judy fan in the world.
48:36I don't want to draft Jerry Judy, but like I mentioned this, I'm in the apex league with a bunch of writers
48:42and analysts, a bunch of great folks and receivers go like crazy in that league.
48:46Like every time I opened up my app and like the 17th round, Jerry Judy is still available.
48:51And I get it. Cause he's not going to get designer touches fan and Casey Concepcion are.
48:55I am with you that if you want those guys to be highlighted, Shredor is the player that we should be rooting for to, to be the starter.
49:03And as long as he can hold onto the job, I think he's going to have the job in week one.
49:09I think Watson, I think they'll finally cut him and eat the money.
49:12If they can, I have no idea. If you were the Houston Texans, would you want any of the veterans here at the wide receiver room?
49:20I would give Noel some time in camp to see if he could get it.
49:24But I think, well, for one, I think Cedric Tillman is going to get cut.
49:28Tillman is a guy I would take a look at.
49:31Cause I think he's talented. He's just had major injury issues.
49:34He's a Judy though. I don't know. He's just so, he's so particular.
49:37Maybe, maybe, maybe, but I wouldn't give up a draft pick to take on his contract at this point.
49:42If I was the Houston Texans, I would rather just like grab Cedric Tillman for free and see what happens.
49:48If that makes sense. Would you take them? They gave me for almost for nothing.
49:52They gave me for five or six. Would you be in on that?
49:56Yeah. Six. Why not? If you're, if you're really desperate, Judy will not command anything significant trade.
50:00If he were to get traded, you just have to take on his contract, which is a little, which is right.
50:06It's fine. It's like Romeo Dobbs money at this point, which you know, is what it is.
50:11Okay. Next game up here. Jerry Judy's former team played in this one.
50:14Packers 33 Broncos. 13 Packers. Jordan love is on the field for 14 plays in the first drive.
50:19We got to look at the running back rotation.
50:22Marshawn Lloyd was in for nine snaps. Chris Brooks, five, no real change on the wide receiver front as Jaden Reed set this game out.
50:29They did not disclose why he set this game out.
50:31So Marshawn Lloyd, definitely looking like the back in replacement of Josh Jacobs.
50:35If he does miss any time for injuries, or obviously he's still facing some legal issues.
50:39So every day I see somebody both on the Yahoo platform and on the internet at large, promoting a green Bay receiver.
50:45And some days it's Watson. Some days it's gold.
50:48And some days it's Reed. I think we recently did a Yahoo piece collaboratively.
50:52Two of those guys were mentioned. How come nobody wants to draft Jordan love?
50:55I think Jordan love is going to be a screen value, right?
50:59He, why can't Jordan love be a top five, top six, top eight quarterback.
51:03I know he's not ever going to run like crazy, but he's gone over the 30 touchdown plateau before.
51:08Maybe the defense takes a step back. Maybe Jacobs, whether it's attrition, whether it's off the field issues, maybe Jacobs, isn't quite the bell cow.
51:15We're used to, I do think Lloyd is an entry pick in that backfield, but I'm telling you, Jordan love is a screaming giveaway.
51:21I want you to target Jordan love. Scott, this is such a good point by you.
51:26This ADP may be slightly outdated because I haven't updated my sheet yet for the last seven days, but the seven days
51:32before that on Yahoo drafts, Jordan love went 123rd off the board.
51:35That is behind these names. Kyler Murray fair Aaron Rogers, Fernando Mendoza.
51:38Not even to start week one, Bryce young and Sam Darnold has the exact same ADP as cam ward.
51:44By the way, Baker Mayfield goes even later than that on Yahoo drafts, which I also think is like, there's just so much value at quarterback.
51:51And I agree with you. Like I look at, I look at love and I think why, why should I have him as low as I do?
51:58And it's, it's, it's very weird. Great point by Hayden here.
52:01It's rare for a quarterback to be drafted after his running back tight end and top three wide receivers here.
52:07It's a great point, Scott, because I'm very excited about all those players and I have not thought to like, yeah, I
52:13should bump Jordan love up my rankings here. He might be a guy that were just, if we're again, I'm trying to
52:19just highlight the point, how intellectually dishonest this has been of me.
52:22Cause I have yet to, Jordan loves a guy.
52:25I have not talked about once. If we're talking about players, we haven't talked about because I'm all excited about the fact
52:31that I think the Packers are going to play with more pace.
52:34They're going to play with more tempo. They're going to play with more 11 personnel.
52:38They're going to throw the ball more than they ever have this year.
52:42That's been a clear, clear signal out of Packers training camp.
52:45It's like, yeah, I'm excited for all the receivers.
52:47You also got to get the guy who's going to serve the plates.
52:51All right. Or the chef that's going to put the food on the plate.
52:54That's going to be Jordan love this year. Jordan love already has a QB five finish on his resume.
53:00And I think LeFleur is a good coach. I know every time they have a two game losing chicken green Bay, this
53:06is panic is LeFleur the right guy. I don't know.
53:08He is the right guy. He's maybe he's not in that top four, top five of right answers at head coach, but
53:15he is definitely they've been a competitive team the entire time he's been there and they've been a good offense.
53:20Just have been unlucky with injuries. One year love got hurt really early and that derailed the team completely.
53:25And they haven't had the health at wide receiver to run the offense.
53:29They want to, this is going to be an interesting reveal season because the whole idea is, okay, we finally have the receivers we want.
53:36We pay the guys we want. We streamline the offense a little bit.
53:39No more of this. Everybody's running off the field all the time.
53:43So if there's something exciting to happen in this passing game, it's going to happen this year.
53:47But that said, I think there's a good chance we're going to see something exciting.
53:51I agree with you. Definitely a guy that I'm going to look at and my next rankings updates can't keep bumping up
53:57this, these receivers and targeting Tucker craft for actively.
54:00If I'm not thinking the quarterback's going to have a pretty good year as well.
54:04On the Broncos side of things, we got our first look of Jalen Waddle in a Broncos uniform.
54:09He made an explosive play that is quite literally exactly the role and deployment and usage.
54:13I've been painting for this guy for quite some time.
54:16He made an explosive play on a vertical route up the seam.
54:19He was aligned in the slot off the ball.
54:22Again, this is like exactly what I've been picturing him doing in this offense.
54:26So that was good to see him in his first moment with the Broncos.
54:30Scott, every time we talk about a Broncos receiver, everybody's like, Sean Payton, he just rotates all his guys.
54:35I don't, I don't think there's going to be a rotation here.
54:38I think it's going to be pretty clear. Sutton's the every down X waddles, the every down Z slot.
54:43And then Pat Bryant is kind of the power slot.
54:46And he'll, you know, depending on waddles alignment, pre-snap the whole deal.
54:49He's going to be on the field a decent bit.
54:52Evan Ingram was also on the field a ton in his preseason game, played 12 or 14 snaps.
54:57Don't know if that really matters, but it is different from last week in terms of playing with the starters.
55:03RJ Harvey, a running back for this team as well.
55:05Also made an explosive play off of a reception from Bo Nix.
55:09So I like this Broncos offense this year, Scott, quite a bit.
55:12They're one of these teams that is projected to be a better offense than where their fantasy players go right now.
55:18So what Bronco at the end of draft season, do you think you'll have the most shares of?
55:23I mean, I want it to be waddle. The waddle is the guy that I'm most ahead of ADP on relative to all Broncos.
55:29But it's just, I mean, he's, it was easy to say.
55:32And I said, this a ton a while ago that he was the most mispriced player in fantasy.
55:37He's still, I'm again, I'm still way ahead of ADP on, on him in terms of where he goes versus where I have him.
55:44Like I am 15 spots ahead of overall ADP, or at least I did last week.
55:48I'm really into waddle. It's just, obviously it's tough to say like where you, if he is available in the fourth round, I click him every time.
55:56It's just, is he available in the fourth round?
55:58Depends on the draft room. So yeah, he's the guy that I want to be the answer to the question.
56:04I've been shaking the boring value veteran discount on Dobbins and on Sutton, but it's scary to do it because Brian is such a pick.
56:10Yeah. But, but you know, Brian is an ascending player.
56:13Obviously waddle was brought in to be the alpha in this receiving room.
56:17I understand that. I don't have any delusions that Courtland Sutton is some monster is some nightmare matchup, but he's such a good boundary player.
56:24I think he can still score eight touchdowns in his sleep.
56:27And are you going to, and I get, look, I get this whole idea.
56:30I got a draft for upside. I got a draft.
56:33Yeah. As you can smash your ADP. I don't mind sprinkling in some singles and doubles and getting on base and all that stuff.
56:40And to me, Courtland Sutton is one of those picks.
56:43I wouldn't want all of my picks to be boom or bust hair on fire upside picks.
56:47A lot of them should be. And I get upside wins championships and we should be banging that drum constantly.
56:53But I don't think, I think there's always room at the table for a Courtland Sutton too.
56:57Well, in terms of ADP, Scott, he goes off the board wide receiver 42 that he's just one of those guys that he is.
57:04If he's, if he's the right, part of a build, you can take him there, but people at least last week were
57:10taking guys like Michael Wilson, Josh Downs, Quentin Johnson ahead of him.
57:13And I think that is just like younger players skewing into upside.
57:17So he, he's, he's fine where he goes to me.
57:19Totally fine. Is Courtland Sutton. It's just like, what type of draft are you?
57:23What, what room are you building there? I want to make it clear that downs.
57:27I would certainly take over Sutton and he's, he's another guy I talked about who was this year's Tucker craft for the
57:33Yahoo staff, the player that we all seem to be promoting.
57:36I mean, we, we are all tripping out over ourselves to tell good stories about Josh Downs.
57:41Yeah. And I want to give a shout as one shot.
57:44Cause I said this last week on the show that I don't know a single other fantasy analyst that is promoting RJ
57:50Harvey as a good pick this year. Like literally I can't find anyone that's excited about RJ Harvey.
57:55One correction. My buddy, Kentucky bourbon guy, Andrew from my, from my discord.
57:59He's a sicko subscriber. Shout out to him. He is, he, he reminded me, Hey, I just want to, I just want
58:05everyone to know his name is it's at KY underscore bourbon underscore guy on Twitter.
58:09He's does some really good running back work as well.
58:12He said, I'm still an RJ Harvey guy. So I want her on the record.
58:16There is one RJ Harvey guy and it is Andrew.
58:18So there we go, Scott. I don't know if you're an RJ Harvey guy, but there's one.
58:23Are you drinking from the fountain of Jonah Coleman?
58:26Yeah. I think Hayden made a good point that like, if, if JK, we did a hypothetical exercise that if JK Dobbins
58:32got hurt and Ashton Gentry got hurt, I think Mike Washington would rank ahead of Jonah Coleman in that regard.
58:37Just cause I think RJ, if, if, if something was to happen to JK Dobbins, RJ Harvey would still be involved in
58:43Jonah Coleman would just be like an early down banger, but I definitely think he's draftable in leagues.
58:48And I really like Coleman as a runner. I think he fits the system well.
58:52So in dynasty, I'd be really excited to have him.
58:55So that's kind of the state of the state on Jonah Coleman.
58:58Okay. We are going to take another quick break.
59:01We come back. We're rolling through more preseason games.
59:03We'll get into that right after this. All right, we're back and breaking news into the show.
59:08I said at the top that we were a few subscribers away from 20,000.
59:12We did it during the show. We're now officially over 20,000.
59:15So that doesn't mean that all of you who are watching the show right now and not subscribe to the channel, that
59:21doesn't get, doesn't let you off the hook. Remember, you're still supposed to subscribe to the channel, but shout out to you
59:27guys who are watching along with us live right now on YouTube.
59:30We are live by the way, every Sunday to Thursday, 4 PM Eastern here on the YouTube channel.
59:35So subscribe, turn on the notifications, like the video.
59:38We would appreciate having you here alongside us for the 20, 26 season and beyond also going to be part of the
59:4420, 26 season, the Washington commanders and the Detroit lions who played each other in the preseason to the tune of 17
59:50for the lions 13 for the commanders on the Washington side here.
59:53Honestly, Scott, not a lot in this game to get into a little bit, just like backup notes, but for the commanders got some wide receiver usage notes.
60:01Uh, Terry McLaurin, he was the X Traylon. Burks was the Z and Steph digs was the slot in 11 personnel.
60:06Um, Burks probably going to open the season as the Z receiver, but that is not totally, totally clear.
60:12Um, he's definitely the leader in the clubhouse right now.
60:14I would still say in 12 personnel, it will probably be, I don't know how much 12 personnel team is going to
60:20play to be honest with you, but Chig Okonkwo looks like he's in line for a good role.
60:25Uh, 12 to 14 snaps in the first quarter for him.
60:28I will also note though, Scott, not a good performance for the commanders offensive line.
60:33That that's one of those units that might screw an offense that I think actually does set up to be a pretty
60:39value unit for us this year, but I'm a little nervous about how that offensive line looked in the preseason against the
60:45lions team that, you know, it's not like they're ferocious on the front seven.
60:49Yeah. Ever since the tonsil injury, I've been worried about that Washington offensive line as well.
60:53Be prepared with Stefan digs. I still think he'll be productive this year, but he's going to have a very modest snap share.
60:59He actually didn't play that many snaps by percentage with the Patriots, but he made the most of them.
61:04But just understand that he's more of a floor pick than an upside pick.
61:08I realized that when you drafted him before he signed with Washington, the price was outrageously good, but now it's more settled
61:14in where it's another pick where you're trying to hit a single or a double.
61:18There's probably no home run potential. Yeah. I still think his ADP is like slowly creeping up.
61:23I think he belongs in the thirties at receiver rather than the forties, but yeah, otherwise he's not somebody I think that's
61:29going to rocket into the top 12 of the position.
61:32Uh, but I do think he can be good enough to make me go from, you know, full green light, Terry McLaurin
61:38to just like, yeah, I'm fine with where Terry McLaurin goes right now.
61:42But I am worried just about the offensive line for this team overall.
61:45And also thinking when I'm constantly moving, it's like, what's the last thing that I heard?
61:50That's where I feel. Or like, what's the last thing that I saw?
61:53That's how I'm reacting with the Washington backfield. Um, I had been like really moving into Ja'Cory Krosky mayor.
61:58And then after watching that preseason performance, I'm like, they might need Rashad white in there for a lot of pass protection reps.
62:05That might be more valuable for this team than Ja'Cory Krosky merits explosive ability.
62:08But again, uh, I am kind of moving target on that one.
62:12Lions Scott, not much to say here. Only note is that Isaac Tesla played with the backups into the second quarter.
62:18He's still a work in progress. That's been like a consistent drum beat throughout training camp.
62:22And I only bring them up because he is a guy that people are drafting in the late rounds on Yahoo leagues.
62:28And probably not somebody that you need to draft in the late rounds on Yahoo leagues right now.
62:33Exactly. I was going to say, stop drafting Isaac Tesla.
62:36He's got, he has to play his way onto your roster or even your waiver wire watch list, you know, from the
62:42field, you know, he's not, he's had a bad camp and he's going to need an injury anyway to be viable.
62:47So he's not draftable in any standard mixed league.
62:50Uh, Sam Laporta dealing with a little bit of an, injury right now.
62:54And I just want to note that like Jamison Williams is a guy.
62:57I'm about 20 spots ahead of ADP on, uh, because number one, Tesla hasn't emerged.
63:01Laporta might miss some time. And this is, I was already, this was already true before I saw this interview, but I
63:07saw a clip of an interview that Jamison Williams did with Robert, or excuse me, that Jared golf did with Robert Mays.
63:13And I know everybody hypes up JMO in the off season, but I thought it was notable that Jared golf said that
63:19Jamison Williams is the most rewarding teammate experience. He's ever been a part of based on how much this guy has grown
63:25from when he came into the league and really didn't know what he was doing and all, and just maturity stuff.
63:31And now he's like one of the smartest players on the team is kind of long story short with Jared was saying.
63:37So I was already into Jamison Williams as a pick this year.
63:41That made me feel even better about where he goes, uh, in drafts right now.
63:45So definitely make sure to get some JMO on your teams and just, just ride the wave, baby.
63:50It's going to be a Rocky ride, but just ride the ride.
63:53Yeah. And hopefully the receiver you have in front of him is some kind of target hog who has that, you know,
63:5910 targets every week and you get a smoother rate of production and glad to hear the JMO stuff because I always
64:05feel like if I had to bet on what lion just get a personal follow or just get thrown out of the
64:11game, we're just going to delay a game penalty.
64:14I'd always bet on JMO, but sometimes these guys need some time.
64:17You look, he's coming off a major injury. You're trying to make it in the NFL.
64:21Maybe he's ready to finally have that smash season.
64:24And of course we saw him hitting the high end of his range last year, coinciding with the Laporta injury.
64:29So when Laporta got hurt again this summer, it makes me sad because I have Laporta shares.
64:34I just love him as a football player. Anyway, you would think that could directly attribute to Williams being a proactive pick.
64:40All right. For some of these games now, we're just going to group the two teams together because there's not a lot here, including this next one.
64:47Falcons, 34 Colts, six Falcons rested all their starters.
64:50Not a lot to say here. Only thing I've noticed that Zachari branch got some run while all the other starters rested on the Colt side of things.
64:57It looks like seventh round rookie Seth McGowan played 27 snaps, got a lot of run.
65:02He might be the RB two behind Jonathan Taylor and then pretty decent chance that Anthony Richardson is on this roster because he hasn't been traded yet.
65:09And is the QB two ahead of Riley Leonard.
65:12Anything to add on Falcons or Colts here? Only that I'd just like to see something good happen.
65:17The Atlanta quarterback room. I realized it wasn't going to happen in this game because they weren't playing, but Michael Pennix got cleared to do.
65:24I want to feel good. I want to feel good about Drake London in round two.
65:28And it's been hard. I think I'm rooting for Michael Pennix at this point based on the two vibes this offseason.
65:34Okay. Next game up here. Ravens 13 Vikings three.
65:36I'll just go again group on the Viking side of things.
65:39Not a lot to say. They rested all their starters.
65:42Ty Felton's locked in as a wide receiver for it looks like DeMond Claiborne.
65:46It looks like he's locked in on the running back three on the Raven side of things.
65:51We do have some wide receiver updates. Rashad Bateman was arrested over the weekend and charged with misdemeanor battery, reckless conduct, first
65:57degree criminal damage to property, according to a Georgia court order, court order records over an incident from June where he broke
66:03the window of a car where his girlfriend and child were inside.
66:06TBD on what this means for his availability this season, but obviously ugly situation there.
66:10Jacoby Lane, meanwhile, so Bateman obviously did not play in this game.
66:13Meanwhile, Jacoby Lane locked in wide receiver three at worst right now as he played in this game and he left it
66:19when backup Tyler Huntley left the game. So Lane obviously has been a buzzy player this summer.
66:24Definitely going to play a big role for this team this year.
66:27How high have you moved Lane up in your wide receiver rankings?
66:31Not as high as ADP because like, again, he's one of these guys that just gets is getting crazy buzz right now,
66:37but he's at least in the 60s for me on my next update.
66:40He will certainly be in like the 60s. So worth a late round dart throw for sure.
66:45Right now. We have a point. He should be drafted in every standard league, right?
66:49Totally. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah. He should be. He's got to improve the separation ability to be like a consistent player, but
66:55I think he's a great best ball pick right now for sure.
66:58And like, he's going to be really valuable to this Ravens offense.
67:02The Jacoby Lane emergence, you know, and again, we'll see if Bateman's on the field.
67:06I saw Drew Davenport did a great and obviously Davenport's really good at this stuff.
67:10Everybody should check out his work. He did a threat on Bateman and assumes based on the way to just go read your thread on this.
67:17Obviously, always check out when something like this happens.
67:20He thinks that Bateman will probably play this season.
67:22This won't affect his availability. So we'll see about that.
67:25Of course, just rough situation. So again, if Bateman's out there, like I think that this all it makes me feel better
67:31about the Ravens offense, including like the core players, Flowers, Lamar, Henry.
67:34So yeah, I think that we'll see a lot of Jacoby Lane and he makes sense for all of that.
67:40Like this, it makes me excited about this Ravens offense that Lane has emerged clearly as the third receiver here.
67:45I want to be overweight on Henry. I want to be overweight on Zay Flowers and heartily echo the Drew Davenport endorsement.
67:51Not only is he outstanding as a legal counsel and just giving advice, he's a lawyer and he understands a lot of the nuance to NFL suspension.
67:59Yes. And off the field stuff. He's also an outstanding salary cap guy in the auction draft, if you will.
68:04And so he's a good friend of mine, too.
68:07I really love Drew. Oh, yeah. But please follow his work.
68:10Every summer. It's it's it's a blast. Yeah. Drew is a wonderful guy.
68:13And he again, he does the work on these on the legal threads and everything.
68:17And he I think he puts the right human and obviously a situation like this puts the right like human touch on this.
68:24It's at Drew Davenport FF. If you want to check him out, discussions with Drew is his podcast as well.
68:29So everyone should make sure to do that. Follow his work.
68:32Great guy is Drew Davenport questionable on the bluey shorts that he wears the fantasy football expo.
68:37But a hell of a guy. OK, next game up here.
68:40Giants 26 Dolphins three on the Giants. This backfield continues to be a little bit messy on paper.
68:45Scott Devin Singletary started over Tyron Tracy, who then lost a fumble in this game.
68:49Remember, this team signed Najee Harris to get in the mix here as well.
68:53In the receiver front, Malachi Fields played one drive, exited after that.
68:56I think he's the favorite to be the wide receiver, too, for this team.
69:00Darnell Mooney didn't play in this game, though, because he was the best man at his brother's wedding, according to John Harbaugh.
69:06So shout out to Darnell Mooney and his brother and his partner as well.
69:10So Harbaugh also said there's a chance Malik Neighbors is going to get out of the red non-contact jersey this week.
69:16So that is something to watch. A lot going on with the Giants here on the Dolphins side of things, Scott.
69:21I don't know if we want to have a Dolphins discussion, but Jalen Wright plays ahead of Ollie Gordon as the running
69:27back to Gordon also got a little banged up in this game as well.
69:31Malik Washington didn't play. Caleb Douglas exes after just one drive.
69:34So for all the sickos out there, that's the top two Dolphins receivers.
69:38And Greg Dulcich played two of three snaps on the first drive.
69:41Warming up to Caleb Douglas is a late round target.
69:44And what a bad week for Tracy. He blows the blitz assignment and gets Jackson Dart blown up in practice.
69:49Then he loses the fumble in this game. So of course, Harris was signed also as more competition.
69:54So he's become somebody who, even if you didn't like camp Scadaboo, you maybe you're looking at drafting Tracy.
69:59I don't think you can take him in any kind of standard league right now.
70:04Yeah. And I took Tyron Tracy in a draft.
70:06I'm just looking at it like, oh, I don't know if that's a good pick.
70:10Makes me a little nervous about Scadaboo. I said that last week as well.
70:14Do you feel the same? Are you a little nervous about where Scadaboo goes?
70:18He's in the 40s on. Yeah, it's a little aggressive.
70:21He's a he's a full on fade for me.
70:23Yeah. Yeah. He's been a full on fade for me at that ADP as well.
70:27I don't mind him this year. I just think going in the 40s is a little bit aggressive.
70:32If he's in the late 50s, 60s, I think that's fine.
70:35But yeah, 40s is a little bit of a fade for me.
70:39OK, we're going to take our last quick break of the show.
70:42When we come back, we run through the rest of the preseason games.
70:45It happened in week two. We will get into that right after this.
70:49All right. We're flying through the rest of preseason week two here, including a game that honestly, we could probably just skip ahead.
70:55Saints zero Rams 34. Truly nothing of note on the Rams here, except Stetson Bennett had a pretty sick throw in this
71:01one on the Saints side of things. Kendra Miller and Devin Neal rotated early in the game.
71:06Miller got more snaps. They're kind of in a competition for running back three.
71:10And that's notable, Scott, because Alvin Kamara is hurt right now.
71:13And he's likely going to miss some games. Also notable in the wide receiver room, Jordan Tyson, who we know is going
71:19to miss time into the regular season. Round four rookie Bryce Lance played 26 snaps, two targets, six round rookie Barry and Brown rested with St.
71:26starters. He's been a big time hype bunny from camp.
71:29So maybe something, maybe nothing. Not a lot in this one, Scott.
71:32Anything on these two teams? I think Kamara believers were saved by, for themselves, saved from themselves, I should say, when Kamara got hurt.
71:39Somebody you shouldn't have been drafting and certainly you can't draft him now.
71:42I'm surprised the market hasn't corrected more for Tyson being hurt.
71:45I realize he's a talented kid we're excited about.
71:48Maybe he comes back in the middle of the year and he has the Odell Beckham rookie run out, but that's so
71:54hard to do to get on the moving train.
71:56And at what point do we trust him again when he comes back with snap counts and usage?
72:01I realize he's a player we want to be excited about.
72:04We're going to want to draft a lot of Tyson in his career.
72:08I think he's a mistake to draft him where he's still going or still ranked on the landscape right now.
72:13Totally agree. I said this with Hayden last week and I may be misspeaking here, but obviously he missed a ton of
72:19time training camp preseason Odell Beckham and then missed the first four weeks with the hamstring injury.
72:24But this is like a recurring thing with Tyson that's bothered him for longer than that.
72:28Like the goal for the Saints should be we don't say the word hamstring for Jordan Tyson in 2027 and that should
72:34be the goal for his rookie year at this point.
72:37So I agree with you. He's not somebody that you should be taking where he goes in fantasy right now.
72:43Okay, next game up here. Bears nine Bengals 27 Bengals.
72:45Nothing of note. No one of note. Nope. No one of note played in this game.
72:50Although Eric all their tight end did get his first action since 2024 when he tore his ACL on the bear side of things.
72:56Caleb Williams nine snaps. Roma duns. They played on all nine.
72:59Colson Lovelland played on eight of those. Both of them got two targets.
73:03You wouldn't know that Roma duns. They had an 18 yard catch and run explosive playoff play action that was designed for
73:09him because no one on fantasy Twitter cares about Roma duns.
73:12But if that had been any of the other bears past catchers would have been a mega viral play.
73:17Deandre Swift rested. So Roshon Johnson running back three played all nine snaps wide receiver Khalif Raymond played three snaps.
73:23And I think backup wide receiver Jaday Walker might be good.
73:26But that's something that is just sort of the sicko dynasty bros out there.
73:30Every time I chart another Bears player, I'm like, God, Jaday Walker's got some excellent ball skills and he had a cool catch in this game.
73:37So Scott, anything on the Bears? I just want to point out that Swift is one of my favorite running back targets.
73:43And I think a duns day has been this price in the exuberance to get in on burden, to get in on Loveland.
73:49I think a duns day has been a nice value most of the summer.
73:53Well, no need for me to say both of those things because I say them all the time.
73:58I agree with you, Scott Pienowski. Next game up here, Patriots 24, Eagles 21.
74:02Almost no one of note played in this game on either side.
74:05So just quick update again for the dynasty sickos.
74:08Eli Sowers is in like a nebulous role at tight end.
74:11Not going to play a big role this year.
74:13Just pretty rough for his second round draft capital in the NFL draft.
74:17Will Shipley cooked up. I believe that that definitely was a producer JB node.
74:21I did not write that on the outline, but Will Shipley cooked up.
74:24That is what is on the outline here. Can't believe I just Ron Burgundy read that off the script.
74:29And then Kyle Williams is a backup for the Patriots, but he made another huge play on a downfield catch in this one.
74:36So that's all the updates from this game. I'm Ron Burgundy.
74:39Yeah. Not much to say about this game other than it's very exciting, but it was all backup.
74:44So I can't take no takeaways for the Eagles and Patriots.
74:47No rank changes. Speaking of Ron Burgundy, shout out to our own Hayden Winks on CNN this past week.
74:52Dressed looking like Ron Burgundy. Complimentary on that little appearance there as well.
74:55So I don't know. Just shout out to Hayden there on his Ron Burgundy fit.
75:00Okay. Next game up here. Chiefs 15 Buccaneers 16.
75:02I got to say, what a jump scare to hear John Gruden on the call in this game.
75:07That was like, whoa, Gruden back commentating games. Okay.
75:09All right. That was my biggest takeaway from this game.
75:12Other than that, though, we did get some fantasy updates on the Chiefs side of things.
75:17Kenneth Walker played on first and second down left on third down for Amari Di Mercado.
75:21Honestly, Scott, don't think we should care about that.
75:23Wide receiver update. Tyquan Thornton played at X. Both Jalen Royals at Z and Cyrus Allen in the slot and 11 personnel.
75:30Both Royals and Allen played later in the first half.
75:32Just a little reminder for Cyrus Allen bros like myself.
75:35He is not locked into a week one starting role, even though he's had an awesome camp and looks like a good long-term hit.
75:42This is a long-run play here for Cyrus Allen.
75:44Just remember that when you're drafting teams. I think he's fine as a late-round pick.
75:48But again, it's not like he's locked into a week one role here.
75:52I think Thornton is a better player than a lot of people, except I get it.
75:56Sacrificial X, cardio routes, all that stuff. But I think that's going to hurt Allen's chances of developing as a rookie for fantasy purposes.
76:03Worried at all that Emmitt Johnson wasn't like... I mean, Emmitt Johnson, I think, is a guy that looks like he's the
76:09clear RB2 on this team, but wasn't as clear in this game than it was in preseason week one.
76:14He still, to me, Scott, belongs in that kind of valuable RB insurance tier.
76:18But are you changing any rankings based off that?
76:20No. Yeah, I think that's totally fair. Okay, next...
76:23Same game, but on the Bucs side of things here again.
76:26This is from Nathan from PFF. Bucky Irving started this game, ran on each of the first three plays for 14 yards.
76:32After that, he left the game before the rest of the starters.
76:35Didn't come back because then Kenneth Gainwell took over for the final two plays of the first drive.
76:40Played all three snaps on the second drive, then exited along with the rest of the Bucs starters.
76:45I'm just curious, how do you feel about this backfield right now, Scott?
76:49Because I started the offseason thinking I was totally out on Bucky Irving.
76:52But now I've really warmed up to Bucky Irving, actually, as a solid running back two here.
76:57I think the Sean Tucker concerns are a little overblown.
77:00I kind of think the Kenny Gainwell concerns are a little overblown, too.
77:03Like, yes, he will be involved on passing downs.
77:06Bucky won't have a lot of receiving work. But this offensive line might be a top three offensive line in the NFL.
77:12Clearly top five. It's a really good unit. Baker Mayfield is a solid enough quarterback.
77:16Look and trim, by the way, Baker. What's the diet these days?
77:19They got good receivers. Emeka Ibuka might have a little bit of toe injury.
77:23He's got turf toe injury, maybe. I don't know.
77:25They haven't confirmed that. But still, it's a good receiving core.
77:29I kind of want the starting running back for this offense.
77:32And that starting running back is Bucky Irving going at a pretty solid ADP.
77:35So do you agree or disagree on my note about Bucky Irving?
77:39I'm sure I have a lot of fade stuff out in the Yahoo streets already on Irving.
77:43But because his ADP seems to keep falling and the offensive line is as good as you say, Tucker's still a bit player.
77:50I still think Tucker might be the best third running back in the league, but it doesn't matter.
77:55He's blocked. And Gainwell is one specific role that he carries, right?
77:58And he's never a threat to take on the full workload.
78:01So I think the fade has gone so far that Irving has actually become a value.
78:05I also want to say that Jalen McMillan, I think, has been a screaming draft value in this wide receiver room.
78:11Yeah, I think that's fair. Ted Hurst is interesting.
78:14He played all snaps with Baker Mayfield, but might not be a guy ready to contribute right away.
78:19Chris Godwin, I think, is on the decline. So we'll see about that.
78:22We have one more game to discuss. But honestly, if we don't get to it, it's a total nothing burger from the Cowboys and the Cardinals perspective.
78:30However, we did just get breaking news into the show.
78:32So Ashton Gentry just got injured in practice. Here is what we know so far.
78:36This is from Sam Warren. Ashton Gentry helped off practice after colliding with teammate while running a route.
78:41And then apparently he could not put pressure on his left leg when he left the field.
78:46Afterwards, the Raiders gathered for a moment as a team to acknowledge the injury.
78:50That's according to Vinny Bonsignore. Okay. Not great news on Ashton Gentry, obviously.
78:53Look, we'll see what happens. Hopefully it's nothing. I think people have freaked out about these camp injuries a little bit too much.
79:00We still got some time before the season. But not putting any pressure on the left leg.
79:04A little bit concerning. Of course, as we mentioned, Mike Washington has clearly ascended to that running back two role.
79:10So hopefully Ashton Gentry is okay. We shall see what happens here, Scott.
79:13Put everybody in bubble wrap and just more buzz for Mike Washington, who you already should have been excited about.
79:19Yeah, definitely put everybody in bubble wrap. And again, we'll follow up on this story on tomorrow's show.
79:24But just want to acknowledge that because that is a player that people are taking in the top 15 of their drafts.
79:30But yeah, Mike Washington, definitely the guy to get.
79:32If you're doing a draft tonight, make sure you get Mike Washington in the late rounds of your draft.
79:38Quickly on that last game. Don't want to short the Cowboys and Cardinals, even though nobody of fantasy relevance played.
79:43Especially on the Cardinals side. I will just note, because I've given Jaden Blue some love throughout the course of the offseason.
79:49Might not be the clear running back two. He was playing like with two minutes left in the fourth quarter of this game.
79:56Malik Davis started the game. And that situation was basically like reversed last week.
79:59So honestly, that's a little bit of the snip, snap, snip, snap, snip, snap for the Cowboys RB2 job here, Scott.
80:05But to me, that just says like Javante Williams is the locked in running back one and is not a super.
80:11Oh, my God. You're going to win you your league pick.
80:14But where he goes right now is an awesome.
80:16Don't let me fall behind a running back pick in the third or fourth round range right now.
80:21Yeah. I think Williams has been underrated all summer and every different manager in fantasy football is going to have the backups, the speculation plays they prefer.
80:29And my the guys that I prefer in that bucket, they're not the Dallas guys.
80:33One guy to give a shout out to because producer Collins said he would he threatened me, threatened me if I didn't give Jonathan Mingo a shout out.
80:41So, you know, Jonathan Mingo might be the wide receiver five on the Dallas Cowboys.
80:45Look at that. Congratulations. What's traded for Scott's got a pick or something like that.
80:49Fourth round pick. Fourth round pick. Fourth round pick.
80:51Is that what it was? OK. Once commanded draft capital.
80:54Probably the highlight. By the way, the the great Frank Reich, who we said put together a hell of a preseason offense.
81:00That was that was one of his guys took.
81:03They were so high on Jonathan Mingo that year and then threw him out there as a Z receiver, a starting outside receiver.
81:09Day one didn't work out. Didn't work out. I will admit Scott.
81:12These guys like Mingo get a little bit banged by NFL teams kind of mis-evaluating and tossing out there to the wolves.
81:18But I don't think we need to spend any more seconds on Earth talking about Jonathan Mingo unless George Pickens decides he
81:24wants to, you know, go open up a restaurant in Cancun and CeeDee Lamb wants to, you know, retire to be a manager of a paper company.
81:32I don't know. Otherwise, you don't need to talk about Jonathan Mingo.
81:35So it's the Cowboys. Everything's possible. Everything is possible.
81:37You never know what's going to happen. Scott, I know it's always possible.
81:41I know it's going to be a great show with you every time you're on the mic.

82:18You go and just pop on the Matt Harmon filter and you draft your league from right there.
82:23All right. Hell of a show with Scott Pienowski.
