0:59My name is Danny Heifetz. Today I'm joined by Danny Kelly and Craig Horlbeck.
1:03And today we are recording. It is May 28th.
1:06And you're listening to this later in June. And we're going over the top 26 players under 26 for 2026 that we're doing, DK.
1:13Yes, that was a very good presentation of that.
1:15Yes, it's basically the 26 best skill players under 26 years old.
1:19So 25 and under. And it's kind of from a dynasty lens, but it's also just from a these guys are awesome lens.
1:26We kind of blended that. But this is our top 26 players who are 26 or 25 years or younger.
1:31Yeah. Quarterbacks, tight ends, running backs, wide receivers. Is it like the best players?
1:35Kind of. Is it players we would want in a super flex dynasty fantasy football league?
1:40Mostly. Did we also include how much they matter in real life?
1:44A little. Are we going to agree on the parameters of this?
1:47Never. No, definitely. The Ringer is built on confusing categories.
1:50We did. Yeah. So we did rank the top 26 players.
1:53Not only did I find myself disagreeing with you guys, I actually kept looking back and I'd be look at my own
2:00rankings and I'd be like, these are really dumb.
2:02I don't know what I'm doing. I felt like really right, but also really wrong about sometimes the same player at different times.
2:09So I don't know. We're going to we're going to count down.
2:12This is going to be two episodes. Candidly, we're doing this.
2:16I'm leaving for my honeymoon in Sweden immediately after this.
2:19Spotify's 20th anniversary is next. Well, for you in the past two weeks ago, for me next week, it's May 28th.
2:25We're recording this next week in June. We're in Stockholm.
2:28I'm then on my honeymoon. So we're doing two parts right now.
2:31This is part one. We're going to have part two.
2:34That's going to come out for you next week.
2:37And yeah, we're going to count on the 26.
2:39We're going to yell a lot. Talk about hot quarterbacks.
2:42I don't know. But anything that happens between now and then, if there's some big trade or something, we didn't address it.
2:49That is why. So without further ado, you guys want to go through the top 26 players under 26?
2:54Yeah, we're going to start. We're going to start with 26 to 13.
2:58So we're going to do two parts, 13 guys for each episode.
3:02So this will be the bottom half. Okay. 26 to 13.
3:05I do want to start with honorable mentions and dishonorable mentions.
3:08I actually want to start with the player who came in dead last.
3:12The worst player under 26 years old is JJ McCarthy from the Minnesota Vikings.
3:16I know this was two weeks ago for the people listening now.
3:19We decided we don't care because the quote that came out of OTAs with JJ McCarthy, Kyler Murray, the back-to-back quotes, where
3:26Kyler Murray comes out and is asked about his relationship with JJ McCarthy.
3:30And Kyler Murray gives the most boilerplate veteran answer.
3:32DK, if you want to read it, I actually wrote it down.
3:36I'll send it to you. Read. It's literally so vanilla what Kyler Murray says.
3:40Yeah. He says, it's been great. It's been great, obviously.
3:43I know he's a younger guy. And this is basically the question is, how has it been working with JJ McCarthy?
3:49How's that quarterback room going? He says, it's been great.
3:52I know he's a younger guy. So any way I can help him, obviously, I feel like I've played seven years now going on eight.
3:59So I'm considered a veteran, even though I don't see myself as that.
4:03Give him any knowledge that he needs. Again, this is like exactly boilerplate.
4:07It's like a PR firm. Veteran answer. Yeah. And it doesn't really raise any questions.
4:11It's basically exactly what fans want to hear. It's like, oh, they're getting along great.
4:15He's helping them out. All that stuff. Then they asked the same thing to JJ McCarthy.
4:20Don't worry. I asked Cam. Cam, can you play what JJ McCarthy said?
4:24JJ, what's your relationship been like with Kyler so far?
4:27It's just like two guys in a classroom. He sits on one side.
4:31I sit on the other side. And it's the coach's responsibility to teach us and coach us.
4:35Is there any awkwardness between you two? Awkwardness, it's just like the same feeling when you're in high school and there's another
4:42person on the other side of the room. That's just kind of how it is.
4:46So I wouldn't say there's any awkwardness. You know that feeling that's awkward when you're in class and there's another guy on the other side of class?
4:54Like, that's awkward. No awkwardness. What is he talking about?
4:57There's no awkwardness. High school. There's no awkwardness. High school wasn't awkward.
5:01Now it's not awkward. No awkwardness. He didn't even say like one positive word.
5:05He just started with, we're like two guys in class.
5:08He didn't say, oh, it's been good. We're like two guys.
5:11He just said, we're like two guys in class.
5:13I love that he specified. He sits on one side.
5:16I sit on the other. It wasn't even like we're in class sitting next to each other.
5:21We're on opposite sides of the classroom. Clearly not sitting next to each other.
5:25Like high school. What is he talking about? Kyler Murray got signed by the Vikings in March, early March.
5:31You've had two months plus to figure out what you're going to say the first time you're in front of the microphone for OTAs or whatever.
5:39You just, all you have to say is no, it's not awkward at all.
5:43He's been great. Yeah. It's been great to work with him.
5:46Obviously first overall pick, such an accomplished football player.
5:48It's been great working with him on the field.
5:51I've already learned a lot. I'm excited for what we can bring to the team.
5:55Craig, you can do this so easily in your sleep.
5:58It's not even like a hard situation to figure out you need to lie.
6:02No. It's bizarre. Maybe Kyler Murray's been an exceptional dick to him and actually JJ McCarthy's really underplaying it because otherwise I.
6:09It doesn't matter. Still lie. It doesn't matter. Just fucking lie.
6:12He's like, yeah, he's like Ben Stiller in Happy Gilmore.
6:15He's just like every single time. He's just like, hey, the cameras turn off.
6:19But I. This is remarkably transparent. I mean, he is so fucking pissed about this.
6:23Well, maybe he shouldn't have sucked. That would have helped.
6:26Yeah. I don't know. This is really. But I do think this is what happens though.
6:31Kyler Murray probably is being a pretty cutthroat. I'm going to like step on his neck veteran about it.
6:37But it's weird that JJ McCarthy would just kind of admit, yeah, he's mean to me.
6:41What? And like. He's mean to me. He's ignoring me.
6:44It's really. It's giving me a lot of anxiety.
6:47Dude. JJ's whole situation. He comes in. Tears his what?
6:50Meniscus. Misses the whole year. Yeah. Then they get rid of Sam Darnold, who goes off and wins the fucking Super Bowl as JJ McCarthy is horrible.
6:58Then the next year they bring in Kyler Murray, who was ran out of Arizona, who comes into Minnesota.
7:03And Kevin O'Connell is probably in love with him because he's 10 times better than JJ McCarthy.
7:08I mean, it's about as bad as a first three years as a top 15 pick could have.
7:13Yeah. When you put it like that, it's pretty bad.
7:16I also have to issue a correction. I said the other day, the Vikings won a Super Bowl for.
7:22I think they won the NFL championship. I forgot that that's not the Super Bowl because they were a different league.
7:28So Vikings fans were pissed because they've never won a Super Bowl very famously.
7:32And yeah, it's kind of incredible to think that Darnold won 14 games there for the Vikings.
7:37And then they didn't bring him back. And then Darnold won the Super Bowl.
7:41And McCarthy sucks. That is. That is. It's just the worst run out of match.
7:45This answer was like the worst way he could.
7:48The offseason could have gotten kicked off for him in terms of like the organized team activities, like getting back together on the field.
7:55I think I saw Kyler Murray through a touchdown pass to Jordan Addison on his very first pass of OTAs, which is great.
8:02This is just the worst possible start for JJ McCarthy.
8:05I don't know what's happened in the last two weeks since now that you guys are listening.
8:10Maybe he's turned it all around. Yeah. And I'm like, I have zero faith.
8:14This is going in the right direction. This is where we're getting close to the end here.
8:19I also saw Jawan Jennings, who's now on the Vikings, said that he feels like Kevin Durant on the Warriors.
8:25Being on the Vikings. And I don't know. I don't know what that means.
8:29I don't know who's Steph. Is it Jesse Jefferson?
8:31Is it Kyler Murray? Who's Klay Thompson? Who's Draymond Green?
8:34I don't understand. You've got to fill that out.
8:37He's Kevin Durant. He's Kevin Durant. That doesn't make any sense.
8:40Yeah. Kevin Durant famously had no suitors on the open market.
8:43His own team didn't want to keep him. And he decided to finally sign with the team that already had several high profile receivers.
8:50Maybe he thought he signed with the Seahawks. My God.
8:53Okay. I want... Let's get... Dude, just say it's great.
8:56Just say things are great. How's it going? He's been awesome.
8:59He's been teaching me so much stuff. We've been going over the playbook.
9:03Just make shit up. Someone's in JJ's ear. JJ, just don't say the weirdest thing imaginable.
9:08Got it. Yeah, we're like two guys in class sitting on opposite sides of the classroom.
9:12Also, this metaphor makes no sense. It is like that...
9:15Just say anything normal. That TikTok about... Anything at all.
9:18Say a number. Peter Thiel's PR people. And they're like...
9:21He's like, all right, Peter. Do you want the human race to continue?
9:25And they're like, all right, Peter. This is a softball.
9:28And he's like... All right, here we go. We got this.
9:31He's like, hmm, do I? I continue. Human race?
9:34What is a species, really? Anyway. All right. Tom, have you ever met...
9:38Do you know Greg... Whatever. Fuck. What's his name in succession?
9:41In the hearing when they asked Tom if he knows Greg and Greg...
9:45And Tom says no. And Shiv goes, no, Tom, no.
9:47And then they're like, you sent him 185 emails last night.
9:51Oh, my God. That's the best episode ever. Are you...
9:54Do you know Greg Hirsch? No. No, Tom? He's like, oh, sorry.
9:57Do I know him? Yes. Yes, I do. Different spelling.
10:00Okay. So 2626. I want to just mention a couple players who are just too old for this list.
10:06And don't get mad at us for them being left off.
10:09Because they're old. First of all, Bo Nix and Tyler Shuck.
10:12They are 26 or older. So not on the list.
10:15Michael Pennix Jr. That's wild. There's like several players on here who are in their second contract.
10:20Dude, literally Michael Pennix, Poe Nix, Tyler Shuck. Guys that are...
10:23Kyle Pitts. Kyle Pitts is on this list. He's an elderly veteran.
10:27Jonathan Taylor, James Cook are running backs that are too old.
10:30And also Jamar Chase, Tee Higgins, Rasheed Rice, Justin Jefferson, and Trey McBride.
10:34Rasheed Rice. Sneaky old. Didn't know he's that old.
10:36He's 26? Yeah. He actually just turned 26. Maybe he was celebrating and that's why he has to go to jail.
10:42So anyway, I want to start with a few dishonorable mentions or honorable mentions here.
10:47Players that didn't mention. The literal last thing that happened right before we started was Craig decided to...
10:52Deacon, I did not have CJ Stroud on this list for the top 26.
10:56Craig did single-handedly. And Craig right before the show was like, fuck that.
11:00Cut CJ Stroud. Stroud. To be honest, I overvalued quarterbacks because of the dynasty.
11:04I was too fantasy-brained and I was like, I don't actually believe this, so I moved him down.
11:09Can you give us a Stroud, though? Stroud! Yeah.
11:12I actually was going to make the argument Stroud is underrated.
11:15I wrote down this whole long spiel. Do you want me to get into it or is that...
11:20Yeah, I don't know where to put him. I don't know where to put Stroud.
11:25I have him 26. He's right on the fringe, but you guys have him both lower than me.
11:30So, my take... My pitch for Stroud, which originally we had him like 26, I think he was the last guy in.
11:36And then he got bumped out. Now he's 28, so he barely missed.
11:40Basically, I think Stroud, based on... Especially us. Maybe we're like driving the train, but he's probably underrated at this point based on...
11:47I think he has some very high-profile shit-the-bed moments in the playoffs, and that's definitely driving the narrative.
11:52But if you look at some of the numbers, honestly, they're not that bad.
11:56Yards per attempt last year, 7.2, which is 14th as ahead of Trevor Lawrence, Mahomes, Hurts, Burrow, Caleb, Baker, Dart, Nix.
12:02EPA per dropback, 14th right behind Caleb Williams and ahead of Joe Burrow, Trevor Lawrence, Hurts, Lamar, Herbert, Dart.
12:08Passer rating, he's 17th. Again, kind of like right there in the middle.
12:12I think if you take into account that he has a shitty-ass O-line, no run game, I think that you could make
12:18the argument he's like right there in the middle among quarterbacks.
12:21And especially young quarterbacks, he's like probably underrated. And so, I don't know.
12:25I think I was ready to make the argument that he deserves to be high on this list, or at least part of this list.
12:32But since we bumped him out, we'll just say he...
12:35I do think at this point we're probably underrating him.
12:38I think Stroud has a lot in common in the NFL with the person that DKU originally comped C.G.
12:44Stroud to coming out of college, which is Jared Goff, who has struggled immensely when he's dealt with interior pressure or a lot of pressure.
12:51I mean, McVay gave up on him. But also Jared Goff has been capable.
12:55I mean, he literally had a 100% completion percentage game with the Lions, which had never happened before.
13:00And so when Geroff gets good protection, and we haven't really seen C.G.
13:04Stroud with good protection. I agree. I'm probably over-indexing.
13:07I just can't get over that he had five fumbles in a playoff game.
13:11But you're right. That's what sticks with you. And that is part of the narrative for quarterbacks.
13:16Crumbled under the brightest lights in the last year.
13:18Yeah. To the point where you can't really get that out of your mouth.
13:23Got a podcast. But no, but overall, you're probably right.
13:25I'm probably over-indexing on that, DK, because the reality is if the Texans fix their O-line, which is not like some given.
13:32Just because you swap out the logs for other logs doesn't mean it'll be like the Bears getting a new O-line.
13:38They got new logs. Get everything right. So we basically have Stroud below guys like Drake May, Jaden Daniels, Caleb Williams, Jackson Dart, and Fernando Mendoza.
13:46Does that feel right? Then we have Stroud, who is above Cam Ward, Bryce Young.
13:50Does that feel right? I think the only quibble people might have is that he's below Fernando Mendoza, who hasn't played a snap in the NFL.
13:58Are we talking about a five-year window here? Is that what we decided?
14:01Yeah, I think about that. Yes. I have Mendoza.
14:04I think I have Mendoza lower than you guys.
14:07Yeah, it's kind of dumb. I would change that now.
14:10Yeah. But I think it's the type of thing where you're trying to balance situation and trajectory and age and skill set and things like that.
14:17I think we're probably looking at Fernando Mendoza with rose-colored glasses right now because he's in this situation with Clint Kubiak.
14:23As we should, though. Yeah. And I think that could be great.
14:27And he's a first overall pick. Expectations are pretty high for Fernando Mendoza.
14:31And in Dynasty, which is kind of like the hook, the way that we look at this, he has a lot of value.
14:37So I think higher value than Stroud. I think probably people would trade Stroud for Fernando Mendoza right now, or at least some people would.
14:45If you're on the Raiders, would you trade Fernando Mendoza for CJ Stroud?
14:48Probably not. Me neither. Yeah. So anyways, I think this is the fun to schedule.
14:53These are the parts that are fun, I think, is like, I don't know.
14:57Yeah. Who has more value over the next five years?
15:00I'd probably argue Fernando Mendoza does. I mean, Stroud might not be on the Texans next year.
15:05You know, like we don't. Yeah. Oh, he will.
15:07They love him there. He's staying on the Texans.
15:10You think if he shits his pants this season, they'd keep him?
15:13Yes. He got a haircut. Did you see that?
15:16He looks very good. Is he AI? Because I've fallen for too many Trevor Lawrence haircut AI photos.
15:21I think it's not AI. I think I saw him at a press conference where he cut off his hair.
15:27AI is really good with haircuts. He is really good with haircuts.
15:31I saw bald Aaron Rodgers the other day or buzz cut Rodgers.
15:34No, that was real. That was real? No, I don't know.
15:37I just fucking went through. I don't know. I don't know.
15:41Who knows? I did my own research. It was real.
15:43The other people that did not make the list, Kyle Pitts, Craig didn't even like acknowledge his existence.
15:49And then Travion Henderson is the player that I think we might most regret.
15:53Where if Travion Henderson is awesome. We didn't really have Travion Henderson on this list.
15:57He's right there. I know. Heifetz has Kyle Pitts 20 spots ahead of me.
16:01You have him 21st. I have him 40th. I kind of, maybe I'm stupid.
16:05I kept thinking about the five-year window and you were talking about tight end premium.
16:10This is where we kind of fucked up this segment where I'm like, are you getting point and a half per reception for a tight end?
16:17Because if so, yes. And if not, I should probably take him off this goddamn list.
16:22I just feel like I know what Kyle Pitts is.
16:25Like I, I, I, he is a solid player, but I, I feel like I really know who he is.
16:31And so that caps his upside. He's the siren song.
16:34I should have put wax in my ears. Okay, fine.
16:37Fuck Kyle Pitts. Uh, I'm glad he's off the list.
16:40And then I think we could start right here.
16:42DK, the number one, the 26th player on our top 26 is Brees Hall made the cut for the Jets, but Ken
16:49Walker, the Super Bowl MVP now with the Chiefs did not at 27.
16:52You guys have him high. I have, I, I, I was surprised by this.
16:56No, I have him super low. I'm very low.
16:59I don't even think Brees Hall should be close.
17:02Why? Because I don't think, I think. Craig hates Brees Hall.
17:05Well, I do hate Brees Hall one. I don't have faith in the Jets.
17:09We forget that that's the team he's on. I would have had Ken Walker above him.
17:14Who's on the fucking Chiefs with Patrick Mahomes. And Brees Hall is a good running back, but there's a lot of good running backs.
17:21And I don't feel that confident about him or his situation enough to, to make him a 26 under 26.
17:26Brees Hall, I'll say this. Brees Hall, I would probably rank.
17:30Like, you know, it's one of those things where when you're on the clock, if you're picking between Brees Hall and Kenneth
17:36Walker, I probably would, with my heart, pick Kenneth Walker.
17:39But Brees Hall, production-wise, has outproduced Kenneth Walker. I mean, if you look at, especially in the receiving game.
17:45I mean, the receiving game, which is obviously a massive part of fantasy.
17:48He has seasons with 76 catches and 57 catches.
17:51I mean, he is, he is putting up numbers as a receiver.
17:55He has that explosibility when he's healthy. And they obviously just re-signed him.
17:58If the team is going in the right direction, I can see the argument here.
18:03I think this is a fine one. I think he's still one of the more explosive and versatile running backs in the NFL.
18:09And that is, you know, maybe not like as high as some of these other guys that are older now, clearly.
18:16But I'd still say at his age, this is, I think this is the right pick.
18:20I think he's, he's up there in terms of the way that he can bring it, like what he can bring in the passing game, especially.
18:28Yeah, I think my ranking dragged him down to 26.
18:31You guys have him a little bit higher, but I don't disagree.
18:34This is the wrong place-ish where he should be.
18:37I just, I think in doing this ranking, I found I really valued the like team situation and fit and coach and quarterback.
18:44But you're also team like the Kansas City Chiefs should be, are great and can be fine with Mahomes coming back.
18:50So why, because why wouldn't you have Ken Walker higher?
18:53I'm just curious. Because like the only, my only issue with Ken Walker is I'm worried about the injuries.
18:58Because he, I mean, he has only had, he's never had 1100 rushing yards.
19:02He's been held back. But the DK's point about the receiving, he hasn't been the receiver in the past, but I don't
19:09think the Chiefs give Ken Walker whatever they gave him, $13 million a year.
19:13If they don't expect him to be a pass catcher, kind of three down back.
19:17Yeah. I mean, just can he hold up to it?
19:20Like health wise. I agree with all that. I mean, again, I don't have either of these guys near the top 26.
19:26I have Kenneth Walker one spot above Brees Hall, but very down low just because for all the reasons you just said, Ken Walker's health, all this stuff.
19:35But I would probably value the guy who just won the MVP, who's on the Chiefs now versus a running back of maybe a similar skill set.
19:42Who's on a Jets team that is probably going to lose their head coach and have another new regime come in, have
19:49a brand new quarterback coming next year. There's just way more uncertainty in my opinion.
19:53Well, speak of the devil, Garrett Wilson, we have as the 25th player on this list.
19:58And I didn't know. It's funny they're traveling together.
20:01I've never enjoyed having Garrett Wilson on my fantasy team.
20:03I don't know what to do with him. I think he's talented.
20:07I don't know if he's overrated. I don't know if he's underrated, but he happens to have just played with Aaron Rodgers,
20:13Tim Boyle, Zach Wilson, Terod Taylor, Mike White, Chris Streveler, Joe Flacco before he got.
20:18Dude, I just. Heifetz, you know how you picture you have like a certain picture of a player in your mind's eye?
20:24My picture, and I've said this before, is Garrett Wilson getting open quickly over the middle and Zach Wilson just chucking it over his head about five yards.
20:32That is my vision of Garrett Wilson. Minus him intercepting his own pass.
20:36Oh, that one's good. My contact photo in my head for Garrett Wilson is the one where he Zach Wilson threw a
20:43pick against the Patriots in the red zone with the game on the line.
20:47And Garrett Wilson like took his helmet off and started screaming and freaked out.
20:51And he wasn't mad he didn't get the ball.
20:53He was mad that he like should have won the game.
20:57They went like over five in the red zone.
20:59And he just flabbed out. Here's the positive for Garrett Wilson.
21:02Look, I think the talent is pretty apparent and clear the way he is able to run routes, get open, catch the
21:09ball, like make incredible high difficulty catches. His production's like been solid.
21:12A thousand yards in every season except for the one where he got hurt.
21:16Just grinding it out, though. Just like massive target or wrapping.
21:20Yeah, he can run after the catch, but a hundred percent like he's had to really eke his way to a thousand yards every year.
21:27It's just like, you know, dragging this this this Jets offense that doesn't score that doesn't score touchdowns down the field.
21:33I really my big hope with him. And obviously, this is the hope in Dynasty is that he can like connect with
21:40Gino's like Gino Smith and have him have chemistry because he just hasn't had chemistry with any quarterback that he's ever had at this point.
21:47Garrett Wilson's had some of the he's like the new Allen Robinson or slot in whatever quarterback has just been whatever wide
21:53receiver has just been really, really unlucky. If Garrett Wilson was on the bills this entire time, he might be like a
22:00he'd probably a first round pick every year in fantasy.
22:03Yeah, it does feel that way. Another Ohio State receiver that I don't want to do with Chris Olave, who I think I do underrate still.
22:10I think I over I had him lower than you guys.
22:13I dragged him down a little. He's probably better than this ranking.
22:17I don't think he's an elite receiver. I think he's a very good, very above average receiver.
22:22I do think I underrate Chris Olave in part because we try to look at like we talked about like a five
22:28year window like these guys over the next five years.
22:31I'm not gonna lie. Chris Olave is the only one where I'm like, yeah, like two concussions, two more concussions.
22:37Maybe he retires or something. Yeah, but I also underrate how good Chris Olave is.
22:41And he isn't just an incredible deep ball tracker.
22:44And he was way better down the stretch. And it wasn't entirely like garbage time for this.
22:49DK, you're way higher on him than us. You have him 16th.
22:52Why do you love him so much? Well, I think there is some stability with the situation.
22:57Obviously, the concussion thing is a concern. But I mean, if you look at his numbers, obviously three 1000 yard seasons out of four seasons.
23:05Again, the one that he didn't get 1000 yards is when he got hurt.
23:09And he's like, he's a playmaker that can make plays at all three levels.
23:13He's really good deep. He can get over the top score touchdowns.
23:16He any and I think he's underrated as a short and intermediate guy, too.
23:20And so I looked I was just looking at the situation.
23:24I'm like the coach and quarterback for the Saints right now.
23:27It feels like it's going in the right direction with Chuck and Kevin Moore.
23:31There's a situation there where they run a ton of plays.
23:34They're very kind of uptempo. So it's the offensive environment you want.
23:38So that's kind of why I ranked him a little bit higher.
23:41I think it's very interesting and funny that in our rankings here, in our composite rankings, Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson are
23:48right next to each other because when they were coming out in the draft, that was like the big argument.
23:53Who's better, Chris Olave or Garrett Wilson? I think four years later, we don't really know.
23:58But you know what's weird? I was just thinking this because we have them back to back.
24:03You're right. Or three years. No, four years later.
24:06Olave and Garrett Wilson have way more. They've had the same arc to their careers.
24:10And if you look at their stats, it's crazy similar.
24:13They've both basically played three full seasons and had one season that was cut short, like halfway through.
24:18So there's so basically the same amount of game, same arc.
24:21Their stats through four years after again, going to Ohio State, being drafted 10th and 11th in the same draft.
24:27Their stats after four years are almost identical. Chris Olave is one more touchdown than Garrett Wilson does through four years.
24:33Chris Olave is like less than 100 more yards.
24:36Like he has 3,700-ish yards to 3,600-ish yards. They have like almost the same amount of catches.
24:41Like the whole everything about it is like oddly similar.
24:44It's so funny. Even if they're different players. I don't know.
24:47So people who were having that debate four years ago still don't know the winner of that because I think they're both
24:54kind of – But I would rank a lot higher just because of the situation.
24:58They've both had 1,042 yards in a season one time.
25:01That's just oddly specific. And they both kind of came out the gate quick.
25:05Yeah. The second they were drafted, a month into their rookie seasons, you're like, oh yeah, both of those guys are good.
25:11Yeah. But then they haven't actually improved on the stock since then.
25:15No. Yeah, it's weird. The trajectory plateaued almost immediately.
25:17Okay. The 23rd, another guy that I just don't know what to do with.
25:22Quinshawn Judkins running back for the Browns. Everything about him in college, in the NFL, on the field, he's looked great, but
25:28he broke his leg and he's on the Browns.
25:31And his quarterback is Deshaun Watson. I didn't know where to put him.
25:34This is projection. This is a young running back who has shown a ton of potential.
25:39And that's like catnip for dynasty players, I feel like.
25:42And he has sort of the skill set to be an every down running back.
25:46And he doesn't have a ton of competition, I think, on that team in terms of the backs there.
25:52So, yeah. I thought he was quietly one of the best rookie players in the NFL last year.
25:57And he just was kind of disappeared by the Browns.
26:00But because he dislocated his ankle and fractured his fibula, and it was a pretty brutal injury.
26:05But I thought he looked shockingly good for like the first 10 weeks of the season, despite the team he was on.
26:11So this year maybe is it, you know, we'll see how healthy he is.
26:16But long term, depending on what you think about the Browns, I think talent wise, Quinn John is really good.
26:21Yes. I think he's the Craig. You always talk about it.
26:25It's like, I've seen enough. I feel like I've seen enough with him.
26:28Hopefully he comes back from the injury clean. And the leg injury is the weird thing.
26:33We saw enough and then he broke his at a compound.
26:36It's really tough. Really bad injury. But I think the talent was very apparent.
26:40And, you know, it's just it's hard to find guys that are that age and with that skill set, with that height,
26:47weight, speed and production at the at the running back position.
26:50And I think that's why he gets pushed up here.
26:53Next one here, 22. Again, we're doing the 26 players under 26.
26:5626 or under? No, we didn't count 26. No, it's 25 and under.
27:00So under 26. 26 under 26. 26 under 26.
27:03Yeah. Colston Loveland tight end for the Bears. You guys have him higher than me.
27:07I don't know what I'm missing with Colston Loveland.
27:10I think Colston Loveland is really good. I'm in.
27:12He's really good. I am a little. I feel off guard that like Colston Loveland.
27:17I didn't realize we're already saying Colston Loveland is better than Garrett Wilson.
27:21Yeah. This is I think again, we're it's not in a vacuum, though.
27:24Like Colston Loveland's on the Bears. Of course, Garrett Wilson's on the Jets.
27:28And that means a lot to me. Yeah, I think the other thing is we kind of looked at this from a fantasy point of view.
27:36The scarcity of elite tight ends, I think, does factor in here.
27:39If you look at what he did, especially at the second half of the year, this is and this is something that can be very dangerous.
27:47But we if you look at splits during a season, especially a rookie season, and you can like extrapolate those going forward.
27:53Colston Loveland from week nine on. So his final 10 games of the season, he was the tight end five in his
28:00597 yards in that stretch was second only to Trey McBride among tight ends.
28:04He was like, who's the number one tight end in that stretch?
28:07DK. Trey McBride. Who's two? Wait, what? At what?
28:10My point is, my point is, why is Colston Loveland having three good games the end of the season means something?
28:16But Kyle Pitts being like the best tight end down the stretch.
28:20We're like, well, fuck that guy. That doesn't mean anything.
28:23Because of what we've seen over a five year career.
28:25I think it again, it's projecting forward. And this is what a huge part of Dynasty is.
28:30It took Kyle Pitts five years to have four good games.
28:34Yeah. And it took Colston Loveland one year. Also, I do feel like, don't just say he had a couple of good
28:40games at the end of the year. Like his games that he had were like historic.
28:45It was insane what he was doing. I can go further.
28:48Ryan Heath at Fantasy Points wrote about this. Starting in week 15, basically the Bears were running not a lot of multiple tight ends in the field.
28:56They switched. They started running a lot more tight ends in the field.
29:00When that happened from week 15 on through the playoffs, because remember, Loveland was incredible in the playoffs.
29:05Wild card game against the Packers. He had 15 targets, 137 yards.
29:08From week 15 on, Colston Loveland averaged 16 fantasy points per game, which would be the most by a rookie tight end ever.
29:15And that is when the Bears started kind of switching their personnel packages.
29:19It's only four or five games, so I get it.
29:22I'm not trying to be anti. It's weird because I like Colston Loveland a lot.
29:26I loved him coming out of the draft. I think he's a really good player.
29:31I think he's good. I'm not trying to be anti-Colston Loveland.
29:34Forget Dynasty. Forget what he could be. Redraft this year.
29:37Just regular fantasy football. He's like the number three tight end.
29:40He's the top 50 pick. Is basically taking this like really three game stretch where it's really the Niners in week 15,
29:46the Lions week 16, and then the Packers game in the playoffs.
29:50And being like, well, he'll do that again. That's what he has to do.
29:54Well, no, it's more than that. Because like I said, the final 10 games of the season, he had the second most yards at a tight end.
30:02He was averaging 9.1 air yards per attempt in that stretch, which is basically tells you he was being used as a downfield receiver, essentially de facto receiver.
30:10Yeah. That's 10 games. That's the final 10 games of the season.
30:13I watched all those games. I'm telling you the average is being brought up by those games.
30:18And I'm not trying to diminish what he did, but the context, I think, is those teams, all their linebackers were fucking decimated.
30:25The Niners linebackers were decimated. The Lions linebackers, that defense was destroyed.
30:29And the Packers, like again, Colston Loveland will tell him literally after the Packers game, he was like, it was weird.
30:35I kept running sail routes. They couldn't cover me.
30:37I don't know what happened. But like that was just a weird quirk of the Packers defense.
30:42And I'm not trying to say he's not good, but like those three games, I don't think are replicable.
30:48It was three defenses that fucking fell apart and ran out of people over and over and over again.
30:53And I just think it's odd. I guess it's weird to think that me being like, I think Colston Loveland should be
31:00like the sixth best tight end in fantasy this year.
31:03I kind of thought that would be like a normal thing to say.
31:07And I'm coming out as very low on him, which has been a surprise as I started your rankings, is that like
31:13ranking Colston Loveland sixth is like, I'm now the lowest person on him, which I just am shocked by.
31:18I feel like saying third and saying tier two sound very different, but I feel like there's a clear tier one of Trey McBride and Brock Bowers.
31:26And then the next tier is Colston Loveland, Tyler Warren, Tucker Craft, whether you want to put like Harold Fannin and Kyle Pitts.
31:33I think they're all in the same tier. Sure, Loveland might be towards the top of it for us and the bottom of it for you.
31:41But I think he's we all can agree. That's the tier he's supposed to be.
31:45And I'm open minded. Like, maybe I'm wrong. Like, also, I don't want to be out on the Bears.
31:51I think the Bears are a team that on the surface, everyone's going to be like, well, they had all these turnover luck.
31:57They had all these comebacks. They're going to be bad.
32:00And I'm like, yeah, don't. But I also think Caleb's going to be the leap is going to happen.
32:06And it's actually going to make up for a lot of that.
32:09So I'm not trying to be out of that either.
32:12So when games like that happen, especially late in the year, you tend to stick to those things.
32:17But at the same time, I mean, we're talking about a guy who was a top 10 pick.
32:23And a lot of people were really high on him as a route runner and a pass catcher.
32:28And so it's like the production and the tape is matching the expectation of what we thought going into it.
32:34So it's easy. It's easy to get really excited about this.
32:37I understand what you're saying, actually, in terms of some of the reasons you might be a little bit nervous about this.
32:43Like Samuel Porta had kind of a down second year after being really, really good as a rookie.
32:49And so there is kind of that fear if Roma Doonsay starts siphoning off a bunch of his targets in the passing game.
32:55DJ Moore is gone. Or Luther Burden. Yeah. And so basically, like, how does it how does the Luther Burden Roma Doonsay Colson Loveland trio pan out?
33:03Is it like mostly the receivers and then a little bit of Colson Loveland or is Colson Loveland like the number one target in this game?
33:11We'll kind of figure that out. Yeah. But I think it's like this is the projection game.
33:16Maybe we're getting a little bit excited, but I'd rather be a little bit high and get him than be a little
33:22bit low and potentially miss out on a Bears ascension.
33:25I also just think like, I don't know, what other tight ends are you like absolutely in love with after?
33:31It's like, how much do you want? You want Samuel Porta?
33:34You want Kyle Pitts? You want Jake Ferguson? You want Harold Fannin?
33:38Like, do any of those guys feel better to you than Colson Loveland?
33:41No, I mean, even Tyler Warren. I'm surprised that there's like a 20 or 25 pick difference.
33:46I mean, to put a number on it, Kyle Pitts is going 40 spots later than Colson Loveland, which I didn't think would happen.
33:53But also, I hate him. So we'll see. Anyway.
33:56There's also something to be said about a rookie tight end just doing that as a rookie and getting it.
34:02I mean, it takes a long time sometimes for tight ends.
34:05Look at fucking Kyle Pitts. I was going to say, look at McBride.
34:09He didn't do anything as a rookie. So it's like, damn, he did this in December of his first season.

35:51I find myself drawn to these guys that are like, we're really good and then had a dip and now we're low.
35:58So for example, the next guy here is 21.
36:00The 21st player we have here is Lad McConkie, the receiver for the Chargers, who I increasingly kind of feel like is
36:07going to be one of my people this year because, again, talk about performances.
36:11He had almost 200 receiving yards in the playoffs against the Texans defense that I think that performance is aged like wine.
36:17And then last year, Lad McConkie got the shit beat out of him like everyone else in the Chargers.
36:23Not just the offensive line, but like Lad McConkie.
36:25He just was hurt wire to wire. Like he had a foot injury.
36:29He had a calf issue. He had something with his arm.
36:32Like he just had like four different nagging injuries that just like sapped him all year.
36:37And I just think frankly that and a disappointing Chargers season and also the fact that like, I don't know, people, he's white.
36:44And therefore, I think people like underrate that Lad McConkie's athletic comps are like Garrett Wilson that like, I don't know.
36:50I think he's Lad McConkie is the guy that could be in that like top six, top seven receiving yards next year
36:56with Mike McDaniels, the Chargers offensive coordinator and health is the issue.
37:00But I'm like, man, you have everything you want with Lad McConkie.
37:03And I don't know. I think he's phenomenal. The lad thing is tough.
37:07I don't know what to do with him. You know what I mean?
37:11It's one of those things where I think I believe what I saw as a rookie and I believe he has potential
37:17to be a top end, top 10 type receiver in fantasy.
37:21But it's definitely not encouraging. Kind of what happened like last year, Quentin Johnston, like through a huge wrench in his fantasy
37:27production and Keenan Allen, it's like 30 something years old now through a huge wrench in it.
37:32And if it's, if he's that fragile as a receiver, I'm a little bit worried going forward.
37:37Fragile like weak? Well, the fragility both in health and fragility and how many good teammates he has.
37:42You know what I mean? Um, but that being said, I think I'm, I generally, I land on the, I think this guy's really good.
37:50I think he's super explosive for, um, you know, for a white guy, essentially he's, he's like super twitchy, super, uh, deceptively explosive.
37:56He is deceptively fast. He's one of the fastest receivers, one of the most quick, uh, explosive receivers in the NFL.
38:02Um, and I, I do believe that that's going to end up panning out for him over the long term, but yeah.
38:09Deceptively elite really. At the end of the day, it is, it was worrisome what, what he did last year, but yeah.
38:15I mean, look, you quirked up white boy. You know what I mean?
38:19You gotta be into that. Mina, Mina crimes had this stat that 2024 lad McConkey and man coverage was fourth in the
38:25entire NFL in yards per route run. Quirked up.
38:28You saying quirked or torqued? Quirked up. Quirked up white boy.
38:31Quirked up. What's that? I don't know. I've never heard torqued up.
38:35Torked up. That to me, well, not for describing a football player, but.
38:39Why not? Cause that to me, I think of an erection when I think of torqued.
38:43Yeah, he's got you torqued up. Oh, he's got, he's got, he's got you torqued up.
38:48I thought you were saying he was torqued up.
38:51But maybe both. I'm going to bet on lad.
38:53You'd probably tell. Some of these guys take. I'm going to bet on lad again.
38:58Some of these guys take Viagra before games to get the blood flowing.
39:01Oh yeah, that's right. Is that right? Yes. Yeah.
39:04Also, I don't know. When you look at lad, I'm like, everything around him is what you want.
39:09He has a strong team infrastructure. He has the play calling you want with Mike McDaniel.
39:14He has a great quarterback consistency with Justin Herbert.
39:16And he has like, and we've already seen it.
39:19His rookie year, he was great. Like every, and there's no dominant pass catcher around him.
39:24Like it kind of is everything you would want.
39:26In a fantasy asset. I think he just had a down year.
39:30It's how you overall look at the charges too.
39:33Cause the next player we have here is O'Marrion Hampton, the running back for the charges.
39:37And this one, is this, are we just given O'Marrion Hampton a breakfast ball for his rookie season?
39:42He's a rookie running back that came in and had eight left tackles and then broke his ankle.
39:48Yeah. Breakfast ball. A lot of the underlying metrics about O'Marrion Hampton are not good.
39:52Um, even when he was on the field and yet DK, the same thing we were talking about with Quinchon.
39:58There were moments where I was like, I don't know.
40:01I just think this guy's good. And yeah, yeah.
40:03I don't know how much of a split he's going to see with the other running backs on the chargers.
40:09And maybe he won't be like a full-time guy and it'll be more of a split with McDaniel.
40:15But I, I'm still willing to rely on like the scouting coming out of college and what I thought he was going to be.
40:22And I'm not going to, I'm not going to invest too much worry in what I saw out of like the weird
40:28shitty chargers offensive line offense before he got hurt.
40:31Yeah. I agree. Hampton. I don't know what part of last season, the data should matter to me.
40:36I don't think any single element of it should matter at all, to be honest.
40:40Like it's not representative, including the first month. I don't think the first month for a running back should matter.
40:46I mean, I just was trying to think like, who's the last rookie running back that actually popped immediately the way you want?
40:53Like Jameer Gibbs, everyone's upset at his usage. Dijon Robinson, people were upset.
40:57Even Christian McCaffrey. Christian McCaffrey. I mean, Quintin' Judkins, honestly, was pretty good for the first month.
41:02But yeah. Yeah. Judkins was good. But I'm like, even McCaffrey.
41:05I don't, things that get memory hold. McCaffrey was, he was a top 10 pick in the draft.
41:10McCaffrey's rushing yards, his first six games were 47, 10, 16, 16, 7, and 8.
41:14Like McCaffrey had multiple games with like, like six straight games with under 20 rushing yards.
41:19Yeah. You know what I mean? He was a top 10 pick.
41:23I'm like, I don't know. The first month it's tough to get going with NFL blocking.
41:27And then the charges O-line fell apart. But yeah.
41:30I mean, there's stuff. If you, you look at like his success rate, yards after contact per attempt, yards per carry, explosive
41:36rate, all that stuff is very, very low. But again, I'm like.
41:40But their offensive line sucked. What was he supposed to do?
41:43Like he's trying to learn how to read NFL blocks.
41:46The charges had eight left tackles in 17 games.
41:49There's a little bit of the gentty thing happening with Hampton.
41:52You forget that he was a highly lauded first round running back with great size, great speed.
41:57There's times where he would get going. I'm like, ooh, you know what I mean?
42:01Like there was a few plays here and there.
42:04Obviously, it wasn't as much as you'd love to see, but there was a few plays where like, man, when he gets
42:10going, he looks like a runaway beer truck. He's kind of got the Derrick Henry style of running back where if he gets two steps, then he's off.
42:18But if he doesn't, he's not very good at like making guys miss the backfield, if that makes sense.
42:24And I think, you know, bring in Mike McDaniels run scheme.
42:27I think he's going to be awesome. He also quietly had 32 catches in nine games.
42:32I don't know if that's going to project into next year with Keaton Mitchell, maybe stealing some of those.
42:37But like that translates to like 60 catches in a season, which is obviously not nothing in fantasy.
42:43That's pretty big. So I don't know. I'm still very bullish on Hampton when he's healthy, if they get their offensive line healthy.
42:49And also in this offense, they could score. He could score a ton of touchdowns if they get if they get their offense kind of going.
42:57If the charges are healthy, seems to be something we'll just say like 10,000.
43:01Right. We should just decide as a show if they will be or won't be and then just make all our decisions off that.
43:08I know. I think I'm going to do it all.
43:11I'm going to invest everything in the charges once again.
43:14We should make our rankings this year should change.
43:16We should make people fill out like a form.
43:19We should make them do a Myers-Briggs. Like, do you think the charge will be healthy or not?
43:24And then like, if no, we just all those guys drop like five rounds.
43:2819. We have again, the 26 players under 26.
43:31We have Emeka Ibuka 19. Honestly, it's same to me as Ladd.
43:34I just feel like Ibuka started hot, was amazing.
43:37Got hurt, played through it. Everyone was mad at him.
43:40Well, and not only did he get hurt, Baker Mayfield got super hurt and had a really bad shoulder injury and was the Bucs offense completely bottomed out.
43:48I'm going to be so in on Ibuka. The same way you feel about Ladd, I am going to be drafting him
43:55much higher than he probably should be. Like you said, wide receiver three through the first five weeks of the season.
44:01Rookie, as a rookie, he just came out the gate.
44:04Wide receiver three for the first five weeks of the season.
44:07Three of those games were with Mike Evans. Obviously, now Mike Evans is gone.
44:11There's a new offensive coordinator in there in Zach Robinson, who was the offensive coordinator for Atlanta last year.
44:16Zach Robinson was in LA with the Rams for four years during the Cooper Cup thing.
44:21He was recently quoted saying that Ibuka reminds him of Cooper Cup in terms of the way his brain works, the way
44:28that he analyzes the game, the way that he prepares his natural instincts.
44:31And the thing about Ibuka, when you looked at what he did last year, he was kind of just like lined up
44:38outside and just had to beat guys one-on-one. Very little motion.
44:41And the way Zach Robinson does things, he's talking about getting Ibuka moving around the field a ton more.
44:47Love that. What we saw from him healthy for the first five weeks of the season, getting the guy in motion more,
44:53moving him around the field more, plus Mike Evans is gone.
44:56You assume Baker Mayfield is healthy. Like, I think there's a chance that Emeka Ibuka is just like the wide receiver four all season.
45:03And he's like a second or third round pick.
45:06I love this. And I think the other thing to think about, too, in this exercise is it's like a five-year window.
45:12Chris Godwin's not going to be around that much longer either.
45:15And so there is a runway here where Ibuka is the clear-cut number one on a team.
45:20You got like Jalen McMillan, Tez Johnson, a handful of other guys that didn't just draft Ted Hurst.
45:26But I think he is the clear-cut lead guy in this offense.
45:29And it seems like they're going to extend Baker.
45:32It seems like there's some offensive stability here. They always seem to field a good offensive line.
45:37And yeah, I just trust the Bucs to continue making this offense work.
45:41And Ibuka is going to be the guy. Also, by the way, it's May 28th.
45:45I don't know if you guys saw this. He made the most freakish catch I've ever seen in my life at training camp yesterday, I believe.
45:53Pass over the middle, full extension behind him, spinning in the air, grabs it with one hand, lands, keeps running like it was nothing, scores a touchdown.
46:00I'm like, Jesus, what is that? That is maybe the greatest catch I've ever seen.
46:05When you know, you know. This was a stat from our guy, Ben Solak.
46:09Ibuka became one of nine wide receivers to have 400 yards in his first five career games since the year 2000.
46:15Here are the other eight guys. Again, this is at least 400 yards in your first five career games.
46:21Puka, Anquan Bolden, Steph Diggs, Jamar Chase, CeeDee Lamb, Malik Neighbors, Terry McLaurin, and A.J.
46:25Green. So not a single miss. No. And that's the thing.
46:28His absolute floor is like Terry McLaurin, Steph Diggs.
46:31And I still think he hurt his quad. That is bad for receiver.
46:35And he didn't want to come out because Baker was playing through injury and the offensive line was getting hurt.
46:40I don't think he wanted to miss time. So he played through it.
46:44It wasn't as good. And people are going to talk about, well, his decline or whatever his numbers.
46:49I'm like, yeah. Sometimes the data set is going to be influenced by literally playing through an injury.
46:55The next one. Speaking of people who started hot and fell off a cliff.
46:5918 now. 18 is Tyler Warren. They tied in from the Colts, who also started incredibly hot and looked like the best
47:05pick you could have made in fantasy because Tyler Warren was basically the number one receiver in the Colts.
47:11And then Daniel Jones got hurt. Jonathan Taylor went off.
47:14And Tyler Warren kind of went off a cliff.
47:16This is just a play. I just thought Tyler Warren would be ranked ahead of Colson Loveland entering this year.
47:22But I get it. I think it's better than Daniel Jones.
47:25But just the way these two ended their seasons was like a polar opposite.
47:29Good old recency bias. You never pick up where you left off.
47:33Really, really hot. Tyler Warren trailed off hardcore. But that being said, the offense has really opened up to a point where
47:39you're like, man, Warren could have 100 catches this year.
47:42Like legitimately, Michael Pittman's gone. I feel like Warren's going to do a lot of what Michael Pittman was doing for them.
47:49He's been there scheming him up looks. I think he's going to be on the field all the time running a ton of routes.
47:56As much as it's boring. It's like being on the field a lot matters a lot for tight ends in this day and age in terms of fantasy.
48:04And so, yeah, I think the sky's the limit with this guy.
48:07It is a little concerning. He tapered off so badly at the end of last year.
48:12But I do think the trajectory. 800 yards is a rookie.
48:15But is it concerning? In all seriousness, I'm not trying to be facetious.
48:19I mean, he scored. He scored double digit points in half PPR one time over his final.
48:24Yeah, but like, but that's Daniel Jones tore his Achilles.
48:27And they brought Philip Rivers out. If you're not concerned about that, that's fine.
48:31I understand. No, but I'm just saying it's not his fault.
48:34It was kind of a bummer. It was a bummer for people who had Warren and early on in the year was like, this guy's a league winner.
48:42Huge bummer. No, it was a bummer. Before the season, he was like, not very useful.
48:47Yeah, it was a bummer if you had him.
48:50I'm just saying, I don't think it's a reflection of how he was playing.
48:54No. I just like, it's so funny. If you go to Philip Rivers' pro football reference page, it actually says 21, 22, 2023, and 2024.
49:01It says, did not play retired St. Michael Catholic high school head coach.
49:05It says that for four straight years. And then it says Colts, three games played in 2025.
49:10And I'm like, yeah, it would be disingenuous if I was all in on Jonathan Taylor because of what he was able
49:16to do with the Colts and not be in on Tyler Warren.
49:20Like, I'm just looking at the first 10 games is what all of these guys are capable of and not the Philip Rivers era.
49:27I keep forgetting that happened. It felt like a dream.
49:30Did I dream that? Did 36-year-old Philip Rivers, or how old is he actually, 40-something?
49:34Not 36. No, 44. He retired at 39 the first time.
49:37He was 44-year-old. 46-year-old Philip Rivers. But yeah, no, I generally agree.
49:41I'm still very bullish on Tyler Warren. But if you're discussing, I feel like Loveland and Warren are going to have the
49:47same type of career arc where people are following them, as we were just talking about with Garrett Wilson and Olave, where
49:54it's like they're always going to compare these two.
49:56Because a lot of people had strong opinions who was the better prospect coming in.
50:01But yeah, it's going to be very interesting to see where these guys go.
50:05I like them both, honestly. The next guy we have is number 17 on 2,626.
50:09It's Fernando Mendoza, quarterback for the Raiders. I didn't know where to put him.
50:13I probably ranked him way too high. Although, Craig, you have him really high.
50:17But I'm like, honestly, I almost want to take this back.
50:20I feel like he's a rookie. I don't know, man.
50:23He could be really good. Maybe he's discount Joe Burrow.
50:26But also, maybe this is stupid. It's hard to rank quarterbacks with other players, to be honest.
50:31I'm just like, this is the first overall pick.
50:34And he's on a team with a play color that I think is really good.
50:38Yeah. With good still players. That is basically where I am too.
50:42Also, I think he feels very mature for a rookie and poised and has some of the intangible traits that you're really looking for.
50:49In addition to being a very accurate quarterback, big guy.
50:52I totally agree. And I know this is the trap teams fall into all the times.
50:56But I am unusually optimistic that Fernando Mendoza will adjust to the NFL really quickly.
51:01Not like week one or whatever, but over a two to three year period.
51:05The fact that he's with Clint Kubiak and the way that is a detail oriented system.
51:09I really trust Kubiak in this. It's like playing a big part for me.
51:14They won a Super Bowl with Sam fucking Darnold.
51:16Literally, the point is you take the decision making out of it.
51:20You make everything zeros or ones, binary decisions, and you make people be able to play as fast as possible.
51:25I think Mendoza is going to be really good at that, man.
51:29And I think he's going to be able to learn and pick it up.
51:33I do think he'll be really. I think the Raiders are going to be good.
51:37I don't know about this season, but I do think the Raiders will be good over this like five.
51:43They need some receivers. I mean, Bowers is awesome.
51:46We'll get to that. But that's easy, though. They need some receivers.
51:49I feel like receivers, the easiest thing to add at the end of it.
51:53I feel like try to trade for receiver. Like it's doable.
51:56Like you try to add a fucking tackle. You try to add defensive tackle or defensive end.
52:01You got it. It's so hard. It's like receiver.
52:04It's like, man, teams trip and fall into like three starting receivers.
52:07I agree. I probably I have him 10th, which is ridiculously high, but I'm kind of just like I get it.
52:14I don't know. What if in a year he's just like awesome and you'd be so upset that you didn't just take
52:20the number one overall pick with a great play caller?
52:23Yeah. Number 16. We have George Pickens, the receiver for the Cowboys, which is funny because I talk about guys.
52:29I didn't know what to do with. I know.
52:31I know. Talk about just pure talent. I'm like, I'd have him higher.
52:35And if you talk about someone who can reliably and consistently produce over a long period of time.
52:40Right. For the next five years. I'm like Pickens in five years.
52:44Where the fuck is he going to be in five years?
52:47I don't know. I think if you showed someone Pickens is highlight reel.
52:51They'd never heard of George Pickens. They don't know anything about him from a personality point of view or the fact that
52:57he was traded away from his team. If you just showed him his highlight reel from last year and his stats, he outscored.
53:04He outproduced CD lamb, not just overall, but in yards per game.
53:08Yeah. And people would be like, oh, so this is like a top three receiver in the NFL or what?
53:13100%. He's the highlight king right now. He was like that at Georgia too.
53:18He was unbelievable. Even he tours ACL in college.
53:20And before that, I was like, this is the best.
53:23I couldn't get over it. And then you can show him that picture.
53:27The Heifetz recreated during the draft where he's staring at the TV and you're like, okay, I don't really know what to expect.
53:34I love that photo. That makes me like him more.
53:37The Cowboys are also like treading down. They're going down this path where, you know, it's going to get messy with him.
53:43And so speaking of, you know, he kind of feels like a Raider, doesn't he?
53:47Dude. Oh, yeah. You want to talk 2027? I actually kind of like that.
53:51Yeah. He can be he can be like the next Steph Diggs where he's like plays on like five teams, but he's good for all of them.
53:59Who knows what? What will I wonder if he's I wonder if he's signed with a team between us recording.
54:05I know. Why isn't he on the like, why aren't the chief signing Steph Diggs right now?
54:10I well, there's some reasons, Craig. Are there for the Kansas City Chiefs?
54:14That seems to not be an issue. That's fair.
54:16Rasheed Rice and Tyree Kill did pretty well. Yeah.
54:19Fair. Also, I believe wasn't Steph Diggs. He was declared innocent.
54:22Yes. In his trial. So, yeah. So do do with that what you will.
54:26But the chiefs historically have not really had a Kareem Hunt.
54:30Well, I mean, that's like they actually cut him for four years, but.
54:33And then he was back on the team for how many?
54:37Yeah. I think what I would have picked. It's just point lands.
54:40And it's true. Tyree Kill. Rasheed Rice, Kareem Hunt.
54:43Yeah. The chiefs do not seem to have a high bar when it comes to character stuff.
54:48Yeah. Number 18 here. We have Ted Aronio McMillan, the receiver for the Panthers.
54:52Craig's the lowest on him of us, which I was shocked by.
54:55And I'm sure he's ashamed of. Okay. But you're doing that thing.
54:59You're like Tucker Carlson. We're three off. It's not like I'm 15.
55:02We're all very similar. Craig, why do you fucking hate him so much?
55:06You hate Ted Aronio McMillan. Yeah, I guess the way things fell, I perhaps am a little bit higher on some quarterbacks than you.
55:13And that's why he's a little bit lower. I love Ted.
55:16I think he's great. I think this is around the right spot.
55:20Yeah. Another guy who it was pretty apparent immediately that he is going to be good in the NFL.
55:25You know what I mean? And everything that you hear about him, he, I think that was some of the worries coming
55:32in was like his work ethic and his focus and all that didn't really seem like that wasn't an issue at all.
55:38Everything you've heard about him so far is that he's been great.
55:42Over a thousand yards as a rookie, 70 catches.
55:44He's already the wide receiver one on that team.
55:47He's exactly what you want as a first pick receiver for a struggling quarterback.
55:51And I think everything that he did in year one was really encouraging.
55:55I think he will be a really nice rock solid second wide receiver on your fantasy team next year.
56:00Yeah. I think McMillan is a good example of, I think, a player with a gap between public perception and real life will close soon.
56:08And there are a bunch of players that I'm always like, if man, if they were on the Jets, they'd be so
56:14much more famous, even though the Jets are annoying, like the Jets suck.
56:18But the media market, like I always said this about Levante David, the linebacker for the Bucks just retired.
56:23Like he'd be all fame if he's on the Jets.
56:26If Ted Rowe and McMillan had just made some of the plays he'd made on the Jets instead of like the Carolina
56:33Panthers last year, I really do think he would be much more famous.
56:37But I think it's going to come from this year.
56:39The number 14 and the last player today for the 2626 next week's episode, we're going to have the top 13.
56:46Last play today. We have Devon HN. Running back for the Miami Dolphins.
56:49Another player I didn't know what to do with because he's amazing.
56:53He's very hard to rank. The team sucks. What are the Dolphins next five years?
56:57They're like totally rebuilding. They're starting from scratch. They have Malik Willis, a quarterback.
57:01We're like, that could work. That could be a disaster.
57:04He could get benched halfway through. He could play all three years in the deal.
57:09I have no idea to with Miami next year.
57:11I don't know what to do with talented running backs and shitty teams.
57:15We have Preece Hall all the way back there.
57:18Like I really was struggled with this one. And I went with talent, but I feel maybe dumb.
57:23Yeah. Talent is, you know, he's. Pure electricity as a running back.
57:26And he was really, really effective in the past.
57:29You have to do the thing. I love when those cars go by.
57:33Yeah, he's he's fucking fun to watch. But I think from a usage point of view, there's some real worry here because
57:39Malik Willis is a quarterback who typically would take off and scramble.
57:43I think it or at least that's the archetype of quarterback that he is.
57:47He's a mobile quarterback who will scramble rather than dump the ball off to to HN, which is a big part of what they did last year.
57:55Get rid of the ball quickly with two 67 catches last year, which is really, really good, obviously.
58:00But that being said, like he's still a really good runner.
58:03He had he was first in the NFL and rushes of 10 plus yards.
58:07He was second only Derek Henry and rushes of 20 plus yards.
58:11So he's a big play creator. I don't know what to make of this offense.
58:15I don't know what to make of what how they're going to use him in the offense.
58:20I don't know what to make of the quarterback.
58:23It's good that he was signed to the long term because that provides some stability from like a dynasty point of view.
58:29But there's a lot of volatility here going forward.
58:32I have a little lower than y'all. I have met 21 because Mike McDaniels is gone.
58:37Yeah. And there's something always hasn't felt right about HN to me.
58:40I can never draft him. I don't know what it is.
58:43I'm always worried that like the size. There is something in me that thinks it's a fluke.
58:48But I know that's not true. And I know he's really talented and very good.
58:53But he's had one season with over a thousand yards rushing.
58:56And the Mike McDaniel thing, I think, could not be overstated.
58:59And I'm a little worried Malik neighbors in this new offense and the team is going to be really bad.
59:05I'm just it's like, I don't know, two, three years from now, maybe the Dolphins get better.
59:10But this is a team that is fully, fully rebuilding.
59:13There's a chance he already peaked. The rebuild's weird.
59:15And it's weird because HN's really fast. But he's not just fast.
59:19Like HN sets up blocks really well. Like I think that he has like you don't just be fast to be an NFL running back with what?
59:27He's 35 touchdowns or whatever in three seasons. Like, I mean, that's a lot.
59:31You don't just get that fast. Like he actually has vision.
59:34He's able to set up blocks, which is frankly why a lot of running backs don't make it in the NFL.
59:40They're not able to set up locks. The flip side is what DK was saying, which was a lot of what HN
59:47was doing is it's not just the explosiveness and having big plays.
59:50It's you end up getting fantasy points in real life with like goal line work and actually be able to convert into touchdowns.
59:57But the other one is the receiving because, again, the.
60:00Participation trophy culture of point per reception scoring is when you have Tua is your quarterback and Tua is just getting the
60:06ball out in one and a half seconds or two seconds every play.
60:10It's going to HN. And so what that led to is HN wasn't just the explosive player, but he led all basically
60:16it was him and Camara for all running backs for the last three years in like catches and targets and receiving yards
60:23and receiving touchdowns as DK was saying. And so if Malik Willis is like, well, I could just get the six yards myself right now.
60:30Now, if HN is no longer like leading all running backs in all receiving categories, honestly, Craig's probably right.
60:36He's probably ranked too high here. But man, is he fun to watch.
60:39Man, he's fast. It's fucking so fast. Genuine 99 in like an actual 99 in Madden.
60:44Yeah. Wow. That was a good list. It was fun to talk about these players.
60:48The NFL has a lot of exciting young players in it.
60:52Does feel like we're in a good place. All these guys are very fun.
60:56I mean, the rookie class last year was great.
60:58Like there are so many fun people. I mean, honestly, I feel like tight end is fully back after we had Bowers,
61:05Loveland and Ibuka, just like, or not Ibuka and Warren just burst onto the scene.
61:09A lot of the quarterbacks have hit in the last few years.
61:13It does feel like we're in a good spot.
61:15Yeah. There's been a rejuvenation, especially at tight end.
61:18And I feel bad yelling about Colson Loveland because I like him a lot.
61:22Well, we're just, we're, we're, we're splitting hairs on a lot of this stuff.
61:26Yeah. Really? No, no, I'm way lower on Tedderola McMillan than you guys.
61:30You should just be ashamed. Craig is a fucking hater.
61:33Yeah. That's the one, the one that Craig, how do you explain yourself?
61:37We're going to get, this is going to get blurbed by cold takes, whatever it is.
61:41Okay. I want to, so a couple of things I want to do here, but first we're going to, we're going to
61:48figure out this hot quarterback anointment out now that Jimmy Garoppolo is retired.
61:51I wonder, can we read an email from Natasha?

62:46See you this summer. Oh. And Bone. Hello to my husband's best friends and the people he speaks to most, even though they don't speak back.
62:53Hello, Natasha's husband. What's up? If you're listening. What's up, guy?
62:57What's up, chief? My name is Natasha, and I have been asked by my beloved to contribute to your survey on the hotness of NFL quarterbacks.
63:04Hell yeah. Please find below my rankings and commentary.
63:07Thank you for keeping my husband company while he showers, shits, and shaves.
63:11That's what we're here for. All the most important moments in life.
63:14We're there. The three S's. If you're shitting now, just email us.
63:18Just let us know. Ringer Fantasy Football. Just put shitting in the subject line.
63:22Just drop us a line. Just want to shower shavers.
63:25Yeah. Natasha writes, first, I find it important to give you my methodology for determining these rankings.
63:29I looked up the starting quarterbacks, and I accounted for any quarterback rooms where that spot is still TBD.
63:35And in doing so, I determined that anyone could fall into a few categories of NFL quarterback.
63:40The first category is future used car dealership owner.
63:43That's like Elway. In this category, we have such names as Kenny Pickett, Riley Leonard, and Quinn Ewers.
63:48And Quinn Ewers was scarier to look at than I expected.
63:51Quinn Ewers is going to own seven car dealerships in Southwest Texas.
63:55Or I don't know where in Texas. But in Texas.
63:58In five years. Honestly, probably. Where's he from? He's from San Antonio.
64:01Okay. So east more. But yeah. Natasha writes, next, there's a guy who ignores you at a party, which includes Shadur Sanders,
64:07Matt Stafford, Justin Herbert, and Bryce Young. Ignores you at a party.
64:11I like this. Very specific. Natasha writes, then Bo Nix also falls into the category of ignoring you to party, but then
64:17I would also be ignoring Bo Nix back. Okay.
64:20Goes both ways. And the last, there's the guy who's very sad that you did not talk to him at the party,
64:26which includes Joe Burrow, Dak Prescott, and Gino Smith.
64:29The sensitive boys. He's brooding. He's brooding in the corner.
64:32I saw that Joe Burrow is literally Conrad from The Summer I Turned Pretty, but you guys don't watch the show.
64:38But the seven, the seven who watched it, who listened to the show, the women know.
64:43The Summer I Turned Pretty is turning into Rick and Morty in terms of Heifetz.
64:47Number of Heifetz references. Craig and I are like, I don't.
64:50Dude, Google Conrad from Summer I Turned Pretty. He even looks like Joe Burrow, but he also acts like Joe Burrow.
64:56I'm telling you. This dude is exactly like Joe Burrow.
64:59Oh, yeah. He kind of does look like Joe Burrow.
65:02But he also behaves like Joe Burrow. Oh, my.
65:05He looks very much like Joe Burrow. Interesting. I'm telling you.
65:08Good reference, Heifetz. Thank you. Your references are out of control.
65:11Your references are out of control. In the same way that she has Shador, Stafford, Herbert, and Bryce Young as guys who
65:18would ignore you at a party, I feel like Jackson Dart is the guy who would talk to every single girl at a party.
65:25He's like Jeremiah, the younger brother. He's the younger brother in Summer I Turned Pretty.
65:29Google Jeremiah's Summer I Turned Pretty. He would ignore no one.
65:32There's a guy that does impressions on Instagram of straight guys with a crush on so-and-so.
65:37Have you ever seen this, Craig? No. And it's just like, for everyone, it's like, bleh, what up, Audrey?
65:43It's just like two seconds long. It's fucking good.
65:45That's what I picture Jackson Dart. Auge, what's up?
65:48What's up? You got a pulse? That's hot. All right, wait.
65:51Natasha Emile continues. Before proceeding to the overall ranking, I would like to take a moment of silence to mourn the loss
65:57of Jimmy Garoppolo to the National Football League. I mean, that's a big part of the reason we decided to do this.
66:04We need a new number one. Yeah. Fun fact.
66:06This is Natasha writing. One of my closest friends who is a lesbian has stated for the record that Jimmy Garoppolo is
66:13the only man to ever make her feel any sort of sexual feeling in her entire life.
66:18The spatula. Oh, wow. The highest compliment. That's amazing.
66:21Natasha writes, Garoppolo's retirement is a tremendous loss for many communities, and I wish him nothing but the best in his next endeavors.
66:27For many communities. For many communities. Oh, funny. So we do have to do this.
66:32I think we have to... I don't want... We don't want...
66:35Have we decided we don't want this to influence other people's rankings?
66:38But we do want everyone else... Natasha emailed us like...
66:41Blind rankings. We don't want people listening to who someone else thinks is hot.
66:45We want to know who you think is. We want everybody from the seven.
66:49All seven of you. All seven of you, please email us your quarterback hot rankings, and you can break it up into
66:56tiers, who you think is tier one, two, three, four.
66:59Give us all of them, one through 32, and then as the summer progresses, the three of us are going to make our own rankings and release them.
67:07The summer I turned pretty. That's right. We're going to release them in chunks of four throughout the summer, and then we
67:13will announce our top four and our top whatever, 16, 32, and we'll see how it compares...
67:18To the average of the seven. DK, also, we explain who the seven are for those who are just very...
67:24The seven, if you haven't listened to all seven of you women out there, thank you for listening.
67:29We have seven listeners who are women. All seven.
67:32One of the seven. Of the seven. Thank you.
67:35Okay, so thank you to the seven. Email us in, ringerfantasyfootball at gmail, and obviously just let us know if you're one
67:41of the seven, and rank as much as you fit.
67:44My wife just sneezed. Tell Liz, should I call her and say bless you?
67:48Should we get Liz to add... We need Liz to be one of the...
67:52Make it eight. Wait, should I call her right now?
67:55No, she's not one of the seven. No, she's not.
67:58I even said calling her. Although, she consumes my show, our show, through the wall, so she has heard a lot of it.
68:05I don't know if she's listening, but she's heard it.
68:08This is like... Skippy, too. She's like half... She's listened to one third of our show.
68:12She has heard it. Hey, bless you. All right.
68:15If it's literally called Liz. She picked up? I know.
68:18I'm surprised she picked up. I was shocked she picked up.
68:21I never know what she's doing. What is she doing?
68:24She's like, Heifetz, I'm working. Babe! Babe, wait! Wait, babe!
68:27Babe, wait! Wait, babe! Babe, wait! I heard that was improvised, Craig.
68:30I mean... Babe! I believe it. If there's any line, I feel like it's improvised.
68:35It's him saying, babe, wait 38 times. Babe! Babe!
68:37Craig, what's the opposite of seven? What? The chodes?
68:40Can we explain? Can we get an explanation of the...
68:43Are we really doing this? No, we can't do the chodes.
68:46I refuse. What? I like the chodes. No. The ghost is fine.
68:50You could be a ghost or a chode. How about that?
68:53You could shoot us. No, the ghost are all listeners.
68:56The ghost is good. You're insane. I started out on that side where I was like, come on.
69:01We're not going to call it a chode. You also want posts on Blue Sky to be known as Skeets.
69:07Well, yeah. That's psychotic. Oh, that's the best. I can tell you social media was invented when you were an adult.
69:13What are you against a sex joke? Because I can tell social media was invented when you were like 25 because I
69:19don't think I would have been allowed to be on the internet if I was like, hey, mom, can I send some Skeets on my phone?
69:27I took so many Skeets today. It's crazy. Hey, mom, someone Skeeted at me.
69:31It's like, what? Skeeted. What'd you say? DK's cackling like a schoolboy.
69:35It's so good. Oh, man. Babe! Babe! Wait! Wait, babe!
69:37Have you seen Hot Rod? Heifetz? No, I have no idea what you guys are talking about.
69:42You what? You've never seen Hot Rod? I just smile you along.
69:46Holy shit. You got to watch Hot Rod. Hey, by the way, that reminds me.
69:50I've been meaning to ask you guys this. And I know, Craig, you'll probably be on board with this because you really want me to watch Transformers.
69:58No, you promised you would. That's different. You said you'd do it.
70:02You haven't watched it. We got to have like an off season instead of a book club, a movie club where I
70:08have to watch the movies that you guys want me to watch.
70:12I'll even watch fucking, oh shit, what's that one I never watched?
70:15It's like, uh... The Purge? Remember the Titans or whatever?
70:18The movie you guys always quote, I'm like, remember?
70:21Yeah, the best movie ever made? Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
70:23I'll watch that. I'll watch fucking Transformers, even though I've seen it.
70:27But I'll watch it again to try and remember it.
70:30You haven't seen it. You guys have to watch...
70:32YouTube's Megan Fox over the car. You haven't seen the movie.
70:36You have not lived... You guys have to watch some of my movies.
70:39You have not lived... You guys got to watch...
70:42What? I know what you want me to watch.
70:45You guys want me to watch Kingpin? You gotta watch fucking Dumb and Dumber for God's sake.
70:50I literally watched it for you. I literally did this.
70:52I was gonna surprise you. I literally already watched it.
70:55You watched Dumb and Dumber? Hell yeah. I was gonna tell you.
70:59I was gonna watch it twice so I could actually quote it.
71:02And I was gonna start... Yes! Yes! I watched it for you.
71:06I've been saving it. Did you like it? Thank you.
71:09I actually think I told you this on the show and you both forgot, but it's fine.
71:14Oh, really? Shoot. Well, that's great. Did you like it?
71:17It was good. I think Jim Carrey... For the first time, I watched Animal House because I'd not seen it and you
71:23did the rewatch was on it and I watched it.
71:26And I both can appreciate that it is like an important movie.
71:30And I also kind of kept waiting for a lot of like funny moments.
71:34And I was like, okay, I guess the 45 years they had...
71:37There's a lot of infrastructure or modern comedies are built on.
71:40Right. I felt that way the first time I watched Animal House, but then I now think I've seen it three times.
71:47For some reason, this third time I watched it like a week ago, I loved it.
71:51And I thought it was... I thought it aged so much better than I thought.
71:56I mean, like other than the problematic humor. I just felt like the humor of the movie and the...
72:01It's more of a vibe movie. It's not like a punchline movie.
72:05It's more of like a dirty dazed and confused.
72:07And I had a blast. I just like enjoyed being in the world.
72:11I... Yeah. I'm sure it was also just amazing.
72:14Like, I feel like that's the first time anyone tried to actually depict college.
72:18Yeah. Yeah. I mean, that movie set up like every high school comedy movie that came after it, probably.
72:24The... Yeah. It was funny. So you didn't like Animal House or Dumb and Dumber?
72:28My God. That's not... No, stop. I did have fun.
72:31How is that the takeaway? I like... I did like Dumber.
72:34I said I liked it. Yeah. The way you said it, sure didn't really...
72:38It was good. It was good. You know, when you start like, well...
72:42You hesitated. Yeah. You were one pathetic loser. It was so hilarious.
72:45Honestly, it did happen immediately when he turns around in the limo right at the beginning and he's like, did you know
72:52you're more likely to die on the way to the airport?
72:55You know, Mary. Statistically. And there's like the truck explodes.
72:58He like runs the road. The truck explodes. Oh, yeah.
73:01Yeah. You're right. A lot of bad drivers out there.
73:04The goodbye my love line. Probably my most quoted thing.
73:07The airport when you fly in somewhere? Don't you say that to Skippy every time you leave the house?
73:12You go in the airport and fly in somewhere?
73:15Goodbye, my love. And then he gets hit by the airbag.
73:18Why are you going to the airport? It's flying somewhere?
73:21Do you know what we've started saying in my household that we stole from your wife, DK?
73:26What? This is a great bit. Every time you get a phone call of any kind, your wife looks at you and says, who is she?
73:34Yeah. Like, it's me. It's Craig. It's a spam caller.
73:36Who is she? Anytime I giggle about anything on my phone, she's just, who is she?
73:41So now Jack and I do that to each other.
73:44It's really funny. It's really good. It's a great bit.
73:47Oh, my God. Big gulps, huh? Huh? All right.
73:50Well, see you later. I had only YouTube that.
73:52Another line that was improvised, Craig. I had YouTubeed it because you guys talk about it so much, but now I watched it.
73:59Those guys weren't actors. They were just there. They were just there.
74:02They were hanging out at a 7-Eleven. The fucking best.
74:05Big gulps, huh? All right. He's shaking the fucking like Slim Jims at him.
74:09All right. Oh, no. Like Red Vines or whatever they were.
74:13There is something about, like, sometimes the lines that age the best are not always the funniest lines in the moment.
74:19Like, the laugh out loud stuff hits in the theater, but it almost doesn't last as long.
74:24And it's kind of the random throwaway lines that you keep coming back to over and over.
74:29It's weird. The one line for that movie that I always say that I don't even know if I fully understand is he's like telling the joke.
74:37And she's like, do you love me? And he's like, no, but that sure is a nice ski mask.
74:42And he's like imagining himself telling these jokes or whatever.
74:45And I'm just like, I'm like, is that like an OJ reference?
74:49I think it might be. I don't know. When was this movie written?
74:52I think the point is that it's an incoherent joke.
74:55You don't know what it means. And I hope that's the other lines given I always say, do you love me?
75:01No, but that sure is a nice ski mask.
75:04Our pets heads are falling off. We got no job.
75:07We got no money. Our pets heads are falling off.
75:10Fell off the jetway again. Got me. You can just quote this movie for a fucking hour.
75:15It feels like you're running at an incredible speed, Harry.
75:18Did you listen to that rewatchables? No. Dumb and Dumber?
75:21I did. I don't think so. I saved it.
75:23Who was on there? Bill and Jennifer Lawrence. Oh, right.
75:26Yes. Check it out. How'd that go? I thought it went great.
75:30I heard that you came out at the end and talked a lot.
75:34Is that what the people are saying? Yeah. Yeah.
75:36Check it. Yeah. J-Law and I, we appreciated the movie and we had a fun chat.
75:41Check it out. You vibed a lot. Yeah. We had a good rapport over Dumb and Dumber, I would say.
75:47Interesting. All right. I have to listen. That was a long time ago.
75:50Pandemic. Chemistry? Oh, man. Who is she? Who is she?
75:53When's the last time you guys had a Big Gulp?
75:56Never. Very long time. You never had a Big Gulp?
75:59Never had a Big Gulp. What's your Big Gulp go-to, Craig?
76:02Like your slushy or whatever? I think I liked the Cherry Coke flavor or whatever the fuck that was.
76:08That was good. I don't know if I had a go-to.
76:11Cherry Coke, hell yeah. Did you have a go-to?
76:14I was a mix guy. I'd mix a few together.
76:17See what I got. Big Gulps? Are so fucking big.
76:20Slurpy. I called it a slushy. I was like, what?
76:23That doesn't sound right. The Big Gulp almost undersells how big they are.
76:26I know. I think it's absolutely absurd that the drinks are so large at movie theaters.
76:31I think it's fucking crazy and I don't get it.
76:34They're so big. The small is like 24 ounces.
76:37They're getting big. You keep saying it. Movies are getting longer.
76:40You're there forever. Do you need 36 ounces of Coke?
76:43I think movies needed emissions again. I actually, I don't understand.
76:46So I went to see, I can't believe that theater closed.
76:49You were telling me the arc light though and sunset.
76:52And I saw, what did I see there in the 15th anniversary?
76:56What's the, oh God, I'm forgetting the name of it.
76:58The great space movie. Oh, we have to do the.
77:012001 A Space Odyssey. Yeah. Should we do the game now that we said we'd do?
77:06Total Recall? Yeah, yeah. Name the two actors in the Gravity movie.
77:10George Clooney, Sandra Bullock. Sandra Bullock. Yeah. Good, good.
77:12Speaking of which, we did the rewatchables with Steven Spielberg on 2001 A Space Odyssey.
77:17Ooh. Oh my God. Yeah. Wait, you need to talk about this.
77:20So we didn't talk about this because we can talk about it now because now it's came out.
77:25But you literally, tell me everything about dealing with Steven Spielberg.
77:28So Spielberg came over to Bill's house and we taped an over two hour episode.
77:33We planned on 90 minutes. We went two hours and 15 minutes with Spielberg.
77:37It was Bill, Sean, and Spielberg and me in the room.
77:40It was an absolute, genuinely a true, true privilege.
77:43I was honored to be in the room with him.
77:46And he was so refreshingly enthusiastic. He was like a fucking kid in a candy shop.
77:50So just like Love's movies was like a little boy sitting on his hands talking about his favorite movie for two hours
77:57and 15 minutes in the most enthusiastic way. The guy's 79 years old.
78:01He's fucking sharp as a tack, was naming gaffers and grips and assistant directors and composers from the 70s and 80s that he worked with.
78:08We took no breaks. We just did the whole thing.
78:11What a pro. What a pro. Is that, that is his favorite movie of all time.
78:15It's one of them. We, we, he, he like wanted to talk about that one, but it was among his favorite.
78:22Yes. So this is out now, right? This is why we're talking about it.
78:26It's on Netflix and Spotify and Apple and whatever.
78:28But if you want to watch it, yeah, Spotify and, and Netflix, you can, you can see Spielberg.
78:34It was crazy. Did you have a report? When he pulled up, he got out of the car.
78:39I was down there with Bill to greet him.
78:41And he looks at me and he goes, I know you.
78:45And he shook my hand and I went, you do?
78:48And then he went, oh, sorry. I think I thought you worked for me.
78:52Sorry. That's amazing. I got so fucking excited for like two seconds.
78:55It was Craig Doppelganger. I was like, oh my God, you do?
78:59He's like, yeah, dude. The Mike Williams take you had in 2021 was amazing.
79:03You had rapport with Jennifer Lawrence. I loved you on the Dumber Dumber episode.
79:07Holy shit. Yeah, it was nuts. He was talking about Stanley Kubrick.
79:10I mean, told a million stories about his relationship with him, about other actors he's worked with.
79:15I mean, I mean, he's like literally the, like the greatest living director on the planet.
79:20Yeah. Yeah. It's insane. Good IMDb. Solid list. Yeah.
79:23Guy invented blockbusters. What was going through your head when he said, I know you?
79:27I genuinely like panicked. It was like happy panic.
79:30I was like, how? Or like, how do you know?
79:33Like, I was trying to think of what he could have possibly said.
79:36Cause I, you know, I don't know. And he quickly dispelled that.
79:40I was like, oh, sorry. I thought I was like, were you like, that makes sense?
79:44Or were you like crushed? I was like, that makes sense.
79:48Let's be honest. Oh, that's really good. Do you think he does that all the time just to like disarm people who he doesn't know or whatever?
79:56It's like Heifetz meeting Jerry Jones. Hey, good to see you again.
79:59It was such an enthusiastic, like he looked right at me, shook my hand.
80:03Anyway, so confidently, I know you. I was like, you do?
80:06Did Spielberg understand the categories? Again, the Apex Mountain.
80:09How much explanation did it take to explain Apex Mountain to Steven Spielberg?
80:13What I love about Bill is like, it doesn't matter who's on the show.
80:17He's doing the fucking categories. And we, he took out a couple, but we almost did the full slate with him.
80:23He explained Apex Mountain to him. Um, Sean was like laughing as Bill was doing it.
80:28Bill was like, all right, so we've got this thing called Apex Mountain.
80:31We're like two hours into the podcast. Spielberg's sitting there and he's like, so it's kind of like who had the most
80:38juice in their career at this given moment? And Sean is just like staring at me like, I can't believe Bill Simmons
80:44is explaining Apex Mountain to Steven Spielberg. Spielberg was into it, participated in it.
80:48And by the end of the show, he's like, I'm loving these categories.
80:52He's like, memorabilia, picking nits. This is fun. It was great.
80:55All right, well, check that out on the rewatchables.
80:58He also has some insane memorabilia. Like he owns.
81:01Oh my God. If you've seen 2001, one of the spacesuits, like kind of that, like iconic orange one.
81:06He's like, I have that. What? He's like, I donated it to them.
81:10He's like, it's at the Academy Museum in LA.
81:13He's like, but that's mine. Just recall. I lent it to them.
81:16Yeah. Oh my God. Great movie. That movie was on HBO, by the way, 2001.
81:20But watch us on Netflix. Right. Yeah. Watch 2001 and then us.
81:24And then rewatchables. No, do 2001, then rewatchables, then us.
81:27Play 2001 Odyssey or Space Odyssey when you're home and then put us on when you leave.
81:32Can we get Netflix to make us the autoplay after the rewatchables with Steven Spielberg?
81:36I'll see what I can do. Yeah. Put it in a word.
81:40If you guys could sit and do a rewatchables with any living person, who would it be?
81:45Well, that's a great question. Director or actor? Are you saying literally anyone on earth you want to do it with?
81:51I mean, probably Will Ferrell. Vince Vaughn was the name that came to my mind.
81:55Sandler. If I did Happy Gilmore with Sandler. Sandler.
81:58Oh. That would be really fun. They did that.
82:00Didn't you guys? Oh, no. It wasn't Sandler. They had the Safdie brothers do Happy Gilmore and the rewatchables.
82:06That was fun. Which was a really funny one.
82:09They were great, actually. Jim Carrey. Ace Ventura. Yeah, I was going to say Jim Carrey would be a very interesting one.
82:15But I like that it's not Spielberg in a Spielberg movie.
82:18It's good that it's not their own movie. No.
82:21Yeah. We've never done that. Every director we've had come in doesn't do their own movie.
82:26Seth Rogen, I think, would be my answer. Oh, yeah.
82:28Oh, yeah. I think he'd be the top. He'd be S tier.
82:32Yeah. Seth tier. Okay. Maybe. Frickin shit. What's the guy from Zoolander?
82:35Ben Stiller. Ben Stiller would be good. Anyway, continue.
82:38He's going to get mad that you said, what's the guy from Zoolander?
82:42Yeah, I knew his name. It's Recall. Do a quiz real quick.
82:45Total Recall? Yeah. Name seven James Bonds, DK. Who is the main actor in Total Recall?
82:50I actually never saw it. Total Recall. What are the eighth and ninth amendments?
82:54Go. Tenth Amendment is cross-state commerce that allows other laws.
82:57Look, I understand the difference now, all right? I'm sorry.
83:00I messed it up. Name amendments 20 through 25.
83:03Go. Come on. I was asking you to name president.
83:06He was mad that like, he was like, you have no examples.
83:09I didn't know. And I'm like, I forwarded you an email that had three examples.
83:13I didn't read it very closely. All right. I was busy.
83:17I don't things to do. I don't always. I don't read everything.
83:20You put name someone from Scooby Doo. That's not Scooby Doo.
83:23Shaggy. Velma. Daphne. Yeah. Is that right? Daphne. Yeah.
83:26And then who's the blonde guy? The mystery mobile.
83:29Is it Fred? Yeah. I think so. Yeah. And then wasn't he played by Freddie Prinze Jr.?
83:34Oh, I don't know that. I was at six.
83:36Well, no, I'm saying the light. I tell you something.
83:39I think he was. Add Freddie Prinze Jr. to the list of people that were famous when I was very small that
83:46I never really learned who they were. I just know that name is famous.
83:50I couldn't really tell you anything about Freddie Prinze Jr.
83:53Yeah. To be honest. I know what you did last summer.
83:56No, that's exactly my point. These are movies that's the cracks.
83:59It came out in 1998 and my parents were not going to watch it.
84:03And then it just like there's that thing that some things that happen right around when you're born are just like no man's land.
84:10Your parents stop the just in culture while you're a child.
84:13I agree with that. But then there are some movies like Remember the Titans, which is 2000.
84:18And of course, I watched that. Yeah. Well, my parent, my mom loves that movie.
84:23So I watched it 10,000 times. Oh, I know this person.
84:26OK. I know this person. DK, you have to watch Remember the Titans.
84:30If you don't like Remember the Titans. If you agree to the parameters of my movie, my summer movie club, we'll do it.
84:36Should it be like a three-way thing where it's like DK makes me watch a movie.
84:41I make Heifetz watch a movie. Heifetz. I watch Dumb and Dumber.
84:44So go. I did my piece. Well, come on.
84:47No, no, no. Cool. DK, you haven't watched Transformers yet.
84:50Yeah. You said you like promise. You think you would do it before the draft.
84:54I never said I'd ever agree to anything. Dude, you haven't lived until you see the Autobots roll out to Linkin Park.
85:01That is unstarted. I want to make you guys watch Kingpin.
85:04I'll watch fucking Kingpin. All right. Done. OK. Thank you, DK.
85:07Thank you, Craig. Thank you, Linkin Park. Thank you to everyone.
85:10Thank you to Cam. Thank you to Abu. Thank you to Carlos.
85:14Thank you to Austin. Thank you to J.G. McCarthy for your honesty.
85:17Even if it was just lie misinformed. Not always the best policy.
85:21Underrated. Lying. Lying. Greater than. Thank you to the seven.
85:24All seven of you for emailing us your top hottest quarterback rankings.
85:27Thank you, Lord. Lord. Thank you. Crash test dummies.
85:30I don't know much about them. Maybe I've already said them recently, but they're the ones that do that.
85:36Mm. Mm. Mm. Mm. Mm. Mm. Mm. Mm. Mm.
85:38It's in Dumb and Dumber. I'm just thinking Wolf of Wall Street when you did that.
85:43That did sound like Wolf of Wall Street. It did sound a lot like that.
85:47Yeah, like with the chest. Yeah. Oh, the song is literally called Mm.
85:51No, it's Mbop. A lot of Mbop songs in my era.
85:54It's harder to. It's actually harder to pronounce than Mbop.
85:57Mbop. I can see Ifens' issues here with this.
86:00Oh, now it makes sense. I don't know this.
86:02Do I know this? Mbop. That's a dumb name.
86:05Sure. I'm not disputing that. I don't know this song.
86:08Oh, it's a banger. It's in Dumb and Dumber at one point.
86:11It's like when they get in a fight and he gets all sad.
86:15They have a real Creed sound, this guy. Yeah, he's got real deep voice.
86:19Crash Test Dummies is a good name for Ben.
86:22Yeah. Do you guys remember? Are you old enough to remember the commercials with the Crash Test Dummies talk to each other a lot?
86:29It sounds familiar. Yeah. I don't even know what they're for.
86:32I felt old because someone has these commercials now for...
86:35Do you remember the old Apple commercials where they had Justin Long and John Hodgman as the Mac and PC?
86:41And they... We're now old enough that someone had the bright idea to just rehash them for a completely different product.
86:47Oh, yeah. That's fine. And I felt old because I was like, oh, my God, this is a reference to a different commercial.
86:54Did you name the other actor in that commercial?
86:56Did I get it wrong? No, no. That was impressive.
86:59Who is that? Justin Long and who? John Hodgman.
87:02He was like a Daily Show correspondent for a long time.
87:05Oh, yeah. Good for you. That was a nice pull.
87:08Hey, once in a while, you got it. I still got it.
87:12You were so... It was so rewarding and mildly insulting when you were stunned I got Timothy Dalton as a James Bond.
87:18And it was like you were so shocked I almost got offended.
87:21I was proud of you. That's the takeaway. I was proud of you.
87:25You were so shocked I got offended is really good.
87:28Okay. So then here's what's going to happen. DK, once you fucking watch Transformers, we can begin the movie club.
87:34That'll kick it off? Yeah. I'll watch Kingpin as well.
87:37I'll do it. I'll watch Kingpin as well. Do you want it?
87:40Let's do it one at a time, though, I think, and then we talk about it.
87:45I got my own movie club. It's just the watchables.
87:48Fair. What if we came up with categories while we rewatch these old movies?
87:52Yeah. Well, no, that's the key. We're not rewatching it.
87:55That would be the same idea. Yeah. What's the opposite of rewatching?
87:59Watching. The watchables. Unwatching. Something there. Unwatch 10 years of Giants football.
88:02What would you unwatch if you could? That CJ Stroud game?
88:05I don't know. Yeah. The Mountain versus the Viper.
88:08Every Steelers play out game since 2017. Yeah, yeah.
88:11I can think of one particular Super Bowl who's ending I would unwatch.
88:14I'd unwatch. Oh, man. Yeah, that's a good one.
88:17I'd unwatch the Giants. I'll never get over the Giants taking a knee on like third and eight.
88:22I'd unwatch. I'd never get over that. The sneak.
88:25The sneak. A quarter. On second down. Sneak on third and eight from the four yard line.
88:30I would unwatch the movie Hereditary. I was there.
88:32Oh, my God. I remember when you were forced to watch that.
88:36It was during core week. We were all in Los Angeles.
88:39Craig was prepping for rewatchables because they do them like in the morning.
88:43Or you were doing in the morning that day.
88:46And you had to watch the movie for it.
88:48And I walk into your office at 930 in the morning.
88:51And you were like, oh, oh, oh, oh. Like you freaked the fuck out that I opened the door.
88:57And you were like sweating. You're like, sorry, I'm watching Hereditary.
89:00You look so uncomfortable. Ari Aster should be in jail for what he does.
89:04That shouldn't be legal to watch that film. Nobody needs that.
89:07I'm like Rob Hervilla. I read the Wikipedias for horror movies.
89:11But I won't watch a horror movie. You know, I will say by the time this comes out, I'll have seen it.
89:17But I'm going to go see. Have you guys heard of the movie Backrooms that's coming out?
89:22I've heard of that. I think I've unwillingly seen the trailers for it a lot.
89:26But yes, it is directed by a 20-year-old kid named Kane Parsons who was making videos on YouTube.
89:32And there's a lot of buzz about it. I'm going to go see it.
89:36I'm pausing my no horror rule and I'm going to go see it.
89:40The horal back rule. The horror back rule. Horror back.
89:42Horror back. Horror back. So a 20-year-old kid is going to make me shit my pants.
89:47But I'm going to see it. It's actually very interesting.
89:50It's based on like a – there was a 4chan post like seven years ago of a photo.
89:55Love when that starts. Of a room that like was like an empty room with like yellow lighting.
90:01It was carpeted. There's like no windows. Oh, I've heard about this.
90:04Yes, yes. Yes. And then it started this long conversation about liminal space and how it makes you feel.
90:10And that eventually morphed into this guy Kane Parsons making these YouTube videos kind of about that idea.
90:15And it has now since turned into a movie.
90:17Liminal space. Yeah. It's like the feeling of like being in like an empty office building or something.
90:23And it like kind of feels good. But it's also a little scary.
90:27And you like feel kind of trapped. But it's also kind of comforting.
90:30I'll send you the photo. It's interesting. I'm just reading about it.
90:34Yeah. It's like I've never really heard of that.
90:36But yeah. I'll send you the photo right now of – from 4chan that started this whole thing.
90:42It's kind of like a dreamy, dreamlike feeling. A psychological threshold of transition.
90:45It's like you're in like an empty dentist office.
90:48I don't know. It's like you're in a back hallway of an office building.
90:52It's kind of like severance. Yeah. It's like there's no windows.
90:55So you kind of feel like you're disconnected from the world.
90:59But you also – it's like this weird feeling.
91:01You're like kind of feel safe and it's kind of nice.
91:04But it's also terrifying. Interesting. Okay. Yeah. The uncanny valley seeing as familiar places like an old 90s shopping mall out of their normal context tricks the brain.
91:13You do that. I'm going to go to Italy for my honeymoon.
91:16But have fun with that. This is like how I – Dude, have you ever – do you ever dream about the first house you lived in?
91:24So like a lot of my dreams currently take place in the house I grew up in.
91:29Oh, interesting. Which I think is bizarre. How often do you guys have a dream that you wake up from and you
91:35were like, no, I was just experiencing that. It felt super real like two seconds ago.
91:40Maybe like once a month. Yeah. Not that often really.
91:43Yeah. Does that happen to you a lot? Less now, which maybe there's a metaphor there.
91:48Our imaginations are dying. It's like my – yeah.
91:50It's like my dad – No. It's more like we just never get to REM sleep.
91:55I have a lot of time – It's like my dad can't sleep anymore.
91:59I'm like, oh, I literally stole my father's dreams.
92:02Literally. Like it's – I have a lot of instances now where I will wake up and be like, oh my god, that's such a good movie idea.
92:10And then I'll write it down. Well, done. And then a month later, I'll read it back and it's complete gibberish.
92:16Oh, yeah. No. It's horrible. You have to write down literally every color and every idea.
92:21It's crazy how the – it really – it falls through like sand through your fingers.
92:25Like it just collapses. Yeah, it's crazy. I think you have to write with a pen too because if you pick up
92:32your phone, even like little messages you see on your phone, like the more like active real world stuff you introduce, it is like – Oh, interesting.
92:40It fractures the state that you were just in.
92:42So even you go, oh, I got a text from me.
92:45Like I sent you a text. And seeing that alone, thinking about what it might be, accelerates the dissolution.
92:51And if it is four in the morning my time, you probably did send me a text.
92:56Well, I text you at six in the morning Pacific and you guys text me at one in the morning.
93:02It is what it is. It is true. Yeah.
93:04Sometimes DK and I text at like 11 p.m.
93:07our time. It was a big problem for a while because you're like – Every once in a while you respond though.
93:13Every once in a while. Yeah, I'm like, what is he doing?
93:17Yeah, it's like 1.30 his time. He's just drunk.
93:20What the fuck? That sounds good. I'm like, all right.
93:22He's up. What's he doing? What's he doing right now?
93:25What is he doing? What is he doing? Is he on his phone in bed right now?
