Baker Mayfield

PositiveValue69:44

Nate Tice is bullish on Baker Mayfield as a fantasy pick, noting that the Buccaneers have a top-five offensive line and that Mayfield remains a productive quarterback despite injuries last season.

Insight page

Breece Hall

NegativeInjury73:44

Nate Tice mentions that Breece Hall is dealing with an injury that will keep him out for two to three weeks, adding to the list of player health concerns.

Insight page

Brock Bowers

PositiveUsage36:51

Nate Tice expects the Raiders to hyper-focus on Brock Bowers, comparing his potential usage to Jordan Reed's 2015 season under Jay Gruden (950 yards, 11 TDs) or Owen Daniels' Pro Bowl run with the Kubiaks. Tice prefers drafting Bowers over A.J. Brown because he can wait four rounds to secure high-upside WRs like Christian Watson or Mike Evans, whereas the TE position lacks similar depth.

Insight page
PositiveUsage60:56

Nate Tice expects heavy usage for Brock Bowers in the Raiders' offense, comparing his potential role to JSN's usage in previous Kubiak-Shanahan systems. Tice suggests the offense will likely funnel a significant portion of targets through Bowers, making him a focal point of the passing game.

Insight page

Bucky Irving

NegativeUsage70:18

Nate Tice notes that the Buccaneers' run game blocking will be strong, but the actual fantasy impact of Bucky Irving remains to be seen as he recovers from injury.

Insight page

Cam Ward

NegativeProjection57:39

Nate Tice is concerned about Cam Ward's comfort level in the pocket, noting that he often resorts to scrambling rather than executing core concepts. Tice fears Brian Daboll will force Ward into a running quarterback role, which may not suit his playing style.

Insight page

Chris Godwin

NegativeRole72:19

Nate Tice views Chris Godwin as an auxiliary, secondary player in the current Buccaneers offense, clearing the path for other receivers to take the lead.

Insight page

Daniel Jones

NegativeUsage55:01

Nate Tice notes that the Giants' offense under Brian Daboll has historically relied on RPOs and scrambling quarterbacks like Daniel Jones to bail out poor play design, a trend that continues to raise concerns about the team's offensive infrastructure.

Insight page

Derrick Henry

PositiveProjection33:31

Nate Tice remains bullish on Derrick Henry, noting that he still possesses elite speed and fits the Ravens' zone-heavy run scheme perfectly. Despite concerns about his goal-line efficiency and receiving ability, Tice views him as a high-upside fantasy asset who defies traditional aging curves due to his unique size and speed profile.

Insight page

George Kittle

NegativeInjury65:38

Nate Tice is skeptical about George Kittle's recovery timeline from an Achilles injury, noting that the messaging has shifted from a guaranteed Week 1 return to uncertainty.

Insight page

Jahmyr Gibbs

PositiveUsage68:31

Nate Tice suggests that Jahmyr Gibbs owners should be thrilled with the Lions' offensive outlook, anticipating a boom year for the team's offense.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

NegativeUsage45:53

Nate Tice views the Falcons' backfield as a 65-35 or 70-30 split between Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier. Tice notes that Love (Bijan) is dealing with a high ankle sprain, which is typically a six-week injury to reach 100%, suggesting the team may ease him back in, keeping Allgeier relevant.

Insight page

Justin Herbert

PositiveProjection6:46

Nate Tice is bullish on the Chargers' offense as a whole, noting that while predicting specific receiver production is a conundrum, he is confident in betting on Justin Herbert's performance under the new scheme.

Insight page
NegativeUsage15:18

Nate Tice expects Justin Herbert's rushing production to regress toward a 5-6% scramble rate rather than becoming a staple of the offensive game plan, as the new scheme provides better auxiliary answers and check-down options, reducing the need for him to scramble.

Insight page

Keaton Mitchell

PositiveSleeper8:32

Nate Tice identifies Keaton Mitchell as a high-upside target to reach for in drafts, noting he will have a defined role and could potentially serve as a 'vulture' for high-value touches inside the 15-yard line, similar to Raheem Mostert's role in Miami.

Insight page

Kirk Cousins

NegativeProjection38:45

Nate Tice projects Kirk Cousins to start roughly 11 or 12 games, noting the Falcons have a difficult schedule to start the season before their Week 13 bye.

Insight page

Lamar Jackson

NegativeUsage30:29

Lamar Jackson's rushing production has declined significantly, dropping from 80 yards per game in 2019 to 26 yards per game last year, with a shift away from designed runs toward scrambles. Nate Tice notes that while Jackson remains a top-tier fantasy quarterback, his fantasy ceiling depends on whether he returns to being a high-volume rusher or if the offense adapts to utilize him more as a pocket passer in a chunk-play heavy scheme.

Insight page

Mark Andrews

NegativeProjection47:12

Nate Tice views Mark Andrews as an inconsistent player whose fantasy value has historically been tied to his unique chemistry with Lamar Jackson on off-script plays. As the Ravens shift toward a more structured, chunk-play offensive system, Tice expects Andrews to remain the primary red-zone target but warns that his overall production may continue to feel less reliable.

Insight page

Marvin Harrison Jr.

NegativeBust43:50

Nate Tice expresses skepticism regarding Marvin Harrison Jr.'s ceiling, noting that catch-point struggles observed in practice and games remain a concern. Tice compares his likely career trajectory to a 'taller Brandon Cooks' rather than a dominant, elite WR1, and suggests he may not live up to his high draft billing.

Insight page

Michael Wilson

PositiveValue42:17

Nate Tice identifies Michael Wilson as a sneaky buy, noting he is a perfect fit for the new offensive scheme due to his blocking ability and versatility to line up at all three receiver spots. Tice prefers Wilson at his current ADP over Marvin Harrison Jr. for his potential to outperform his draft cost.

Insight page

Omarion Hampton

PositiveValue12:50

Nate Tice is bullish on O'Marrion Hampton, suggesting he is comfortable drafting him at the end of the first round (9th or 10th overall) rather than the 15th spot, citing the effectiveness of the Kubiak/Shanahan-style run game.

Insight page

Sam LaPorta

PositiveUsage67:35

Nate Tice believes Sam LaPorta will be a primary beneficiary of the new Lions offense under Drew Petzing, noting that the scheme utilizes multi-tight end sets and allows LaPorta to line up anywhere.

Insight page

Tony Pollard

NegativeValue60:14

Nate Tice is avoiding all Tennessee Titans players for fantasy purposes, citing concerns that the team's offensive struggles and lack of a scrambling quarterback will lead to lower production across the board.

Insight page

Tre Tucker

PositiveSleeper55:49

Nate Tice identifies Trey Tucker as a deep-bench dart throw in redraft leagues, noting that his role as a vertical threat fits well within the Raiders' new offensive system. Tice compares his potential usage to that of Rashid Shaheed, suggesting he could be a beneficiary of the scheme's verticality.

Insight page

Trey McBride

NegativeProjection44:21

Nate Tice is lower on Trey McBride for fantasy purposes this year compared to his breakout, citing natural regression after being one of the most targeted tight ends in history. Tice clarifies this is not a knock on McBride's talent, but rather a concern about target distribution and route volume.

Insight page

Tyler Allgeier

PositiveValue46:06

Nate Tice describes Tyler Allgeier as one of the most perpetually underrated players in the league, noting his reliability in pass protection, receiving, and ball security. Tice expects Allgeier to maintain a significant role (approx. 30-35% of snaps) in the Falcons' offense.

Insight page

Wan'Dale Robinson

NegativeUsage57:13

Nate Tice expressed concern regarding Wan'Dale Robinson's technique on bubble screens during the preseason, noting that his lack of depth and execution is a potential 'canary in the coal mine' for the Giants' offensive infrastructure.

Insight page

Zamir White

PositiveValue54:12

Nate Tice is bullish on Zamir White for the upcoming season, citing the implementation of a Kubiak-Shanahan offensive system that historically maximizes running back success. Tice believes White is talented enough to benefit significantly from an improved offensive line and the scheme's efficiency, making him a strong value pick at his current ADP.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

NegativeBust38:44

Nate Tice is skeptical of Zay Flowers' fantasy upside, labeling him a 'siren song' due to his lack of red-zone production and small stature. Despite his efficiency between the 20s, Tice believes Flowers will remain limited in scoring potential because he lacks the size to dominate in the red zone and the Ravens' offense often relies on off-script plays that favor larger targets.

0:00Fantasy Football Show. My name is Danny Heifetz. I'm joined by Danny Kelly and Craig Horlbeck.
0:04And in a moment, we will be joined by Nate Tice from Yahoo!
0:08Because today we're going over all the play callers that changed.
0:11We have more than half the NFL has changed their play callers this season.
0:15And we wanted our buddy Nate Tice to tell us.
0:17Sorry, Nate Tice to tell us is a weird sentence.
0:20But we wanted Nate Tice to tell us which ones he's higher and lower on because that's one of the most important things going into each season.
0:27And we also, just a reminder, live Netflix draft.
0:30Craig, what day? Friday, August? 28th. Boom. At 11 a.m.
0:33Pacific. Tune in on Netflix. We will be drafting and it'll be a great time.
0:37And DK, do you know what date that is, even though Craig just said it?
0:41The 28th? Of August. And at what time is it if you're on East Coast?
0:4511. Oh, it's 1 o'clock. No, 2 o'clock Eastern.
0:47Boom. There we go. All right. Netflix Ringer Fantasy Football draft.
0:50That's going to be really fun. We're going to get to Nate on the play callers who's highest and lowest on entering the season.
0:57But first, we're going to take a quick break.
0:59This episode is presented by Verizon. Let me tell you all about Verizon's new simplicity plan.
1:04You get one plan, one price, just $30 a line per month, even for a single line.
1:08So while everyone is running four trade analyzers before offering a backup tight end, Verizon said, one plan, one price.
1:14Sometimes the simplest move is the best one, like the simplicity plan.
1:17Head to Verizon.com today. For new customers, $30 per line includes auto pay and switch discount.
1:21Additional taxes, fees, and terms apply. Unlimited data is restricted to on-device smartphone usage, domestic data roaming at 2G speeds.
1:27All right. We are now joined by Yahoo's Nate Tice.
1:29And honestly, the person that I have told Deacon Craig that if I ever die, the only person authorized to replace me on the show.
1:36And it's totally fine. Authorized. Nate, how are you doing today?
1:39What an honor. That's great. An honorary Danny? That's amazing.
1:42Does that mean you're like the godfather of the show?
1:45It's like if one of us passes on, you kind of come in.
1:48I think you are. He takes custody of us.
1:51Yeah, I was going to say, who's the parents in this relationship?
1:54I'm not sure. Is it the Danny and Danny of Craig?
1:57Yeah. You guys can get remarried after I die, but only to Nate.
2:00That's really what it is. Thanks, guys. Yeah, I'm on the list.
2:04Yeah, like when people get married. Yeah, I'm on the list.
2:07That's great. I made it. Nate, you are the man.
2:09We have the most crazy tangent-going conversations every time we get dinner.
2:13But we wanted to have you on because you also are, just to be honest, probably the smartest person in media about NFL scheme, about all this.
2:20I'm sorry. I know. Blow smoke up your ass.
2:22Blah, blah, blah. But I don't know about you guys, DK and Craig, but I feel like.
2:27I'm in the shower today. I know. Careful with the metaphors.
2:30But I feel like one of the hardest parts of doing this job is looking at a team with some coordinator I've
2:36never heard of, like Declan Doyle, and trying to predict, what's that going to look like?
2:40Will he be good? I'm like, well, Declan Doyle's agent told a reporter he'd be great.
2:45So we're feeling good. It's very hard to evaluate.
2:47And more than half of the teams in the NFL this year have new coordinators.
2:5118 of the 32 by my count. And half of them are younger than all four of us.
2:56It's not even that these are coordinators that we have a history with.
3:00Declan Doyle is 30 years old. It's not like we're even saying, oh, yeah, we went to college at the same time anymore.
3:06It's like, no, these guys are like, now we're getting into generational gaps.
3:09Now it's like true Zoomer coaches are coming up.
3:12It was not even millennials anymore. It's like, now we're on the Zoomers.
3:15Yeah, it hurts my brain too. It's concerning. So Nate, we wanted to have you on.
3:20And we asked you for somewhat simple of a question.
3:22And we basically, we want, again, there's like 18 new play callers.
3:26And we wanted to ask you basically, who's a few teams or play callers that you're more excited about the offense than
3:32people generally think or maybe the consensus? And then if there are already a couple where you're maybe a little concerned, maybe more than most people are.
3:39Yeah, I'm curious. I'm curious what you guys think because I'm in my own little bubble of nerd them.
3:44And I don't get out much, as people can probably see, as I wear the same three outfits on every podcast, like I'm Steve Jobs or Jim Harbaugh.
3:52Well, unless you're sitting in every morning, you know?
3:54I get it. Same things every time. New balance, different color, and we're good.
3:58We're ready to rock. Plus EV way to live right there.
4:01It's, it's, well, I was going to start and I cut you off to any of this.
4:06I'm so sorry. But it's, no, it's the Chargers, which to me, I've been kind of like beating the drum about the
4:12Chargers and not just, you know, Justin Herbert. Cool.
4:14But just all the components of it, the run game, everything under Mike McDaniel.
4:18And to me, sometimes I'm in my own bubble and I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
4:22And then I go on other shows and they're just like, huh?
4:25And they stare at me with, I have three heads.
4:28So like, they're a team I'm curious. It's like, am I different?
4:31So I answer your question with kind of a question, but start very high in the Chargers.
4:36Tell her to be honest, your center just got hurt.
4:38Having said that, they drafted a guy, Jake Slaughter, who can play center.
4:42So no matter what happens, they have a plan there.
4:45But I think this run game is going to really boost, get boosted under Mike McDaniel.
4:49They went out and got Alec Engel for a reason, that fullback, because he does a lot of things as a moving part, as a moving blocker.
4:56I think Morgan Hampton, whether or how high you are, whether how low you are on him as a prospect or even
5:02his first year as a pro, this offense is going to get him in space and let him go.
5:07And that's why I'm really excited. And Keaton Mitchell, yeah, is going to be like, have a role.
5:12He'll have a game where he has a couple touches and he will have parts where they have both these guys on the field.
5:19But then they just did other things. The tight ends, they went out and got Charlie Kalar, David Njoku.
5:24Stat wise, not sure. We're not going to predict anything there, but they're blocking and the other things that they help out
5:30with is going to help everybody else. And by everybody else, I mean Justin Herbert, Hampton, the passing game, everything.
5:35So I'm very bullish as this offense as a whole, because I think they can get explosive plays.
5:40Now, the conundrum is predicting which receiver to get.
5:43That's more of the conundrum. But I will bet on Justin Herbert and I will bet on Hampton in a fantasy sense.
5:49I think to answer your question, we're all really high on the Chargers, like dangerously high.
5:53Okay, okay. See, that's why I don't know. Especially since, you know, like you said, Biotis got hurt today.
5:58Quentin Johnson got banged up today. So maybe that answers our question.
6:02He's apparently fine, luckily. Okay, that's good. That's good.
6:04So we were going to ask you straight up Ladd versus QJ, but I think it's still just to be determined.
6:10I want to just like a general question about the Mike McDaniel offense, get things kicked off.
6:14I know that he's kind of, he comes from the Shanahan tree.
6:18We saw what he did in Miami where it was, you know, the terrific run game and like the sharp motion stuff,
6:24like sprint motion, getting people in moving before the snap.
6:26But like from your point of view, like the layman's term, like what does Mike McDaniel do that's different in the run
6:32game or like, I guess, unique or whatever? What is sort of his signature in terms of why you think the run game is going to be good?
6:40He changes up the angles of the blockers. I think it's my, maybe my quickest way I could put it.
6:45And maybe my best example is there's a run play called counter and on the counter run play, you typically, you can
6:51do different versions, but you pull a guard and you pull a tight end off the ball.
6:56And that's just kind of like, he's off the ball, then he can pull.
7:00That is a classic counter. Now, what he will do is have, instead of that tight end pulling across the ball, he'll
7:06have them do like a little short motion on the same side and then block the same block, but it's from the same side.
7:12If that makes sense, he's not pulling. Right. So you're getting, you're creating a pull without pulling.
7:17So that's maybe my best way I can put it is that he takes the core concepts and he does a little
7:23formational variety where just the angles change. Alec Engel motions at the snap and then he's kicking out the end on one play.
7:29The next play, he's faking kicking out the end and running around.
7:32The next play, he's feigning kicking out the end and then blocking the linebacker at the second level.
7:37And so it's just like, that's my best way I can put it is just, yeah, he changes how they typically are drawn up.
7:44It's still the same scheme, zone, counter, duo, all that stuff.
7:47He just kind of just changes and twists the formation usage of them.
7:50Yeah. The window dressing makes it harder for defenders to kind of like figure out where, what angle they need to take on the block.
7:57Basically, that's really interesting. And just like, okay, I know this guy's pulling.
8:00I see one puller. Where's the second puller? And then also, and then the guy knocks you out.
8:05Like that's kind of what he does. It's an automated feeling that I know well from second team defensive line in high
8:11school where I didn't play a lot. But like you just, when you kind of get a feel too quick, you're like, oh God, what's going on?
8:19Yes. Why? This feels like a trap. Yeah. And it is.
8:22It usually is. No. And that's really it. And it's really funny because it's like if you just drew it up on
8:28a board without the motions, without the craziness, and I drew up the next play of someone like a very static offense, like the Bengals or something.
8:35It's the same drawing. It's just that it's just like how he gets there.
8:39The journey he takes to get there is just a little bit different.
8:42And what I think he, you know, you can say whatever he is as a head coach and the team's tapered off last year or whatever.
8:49He truly is doing stuff that other teams study.
8:52And you kind of want to always look for whoever the Rosetta Stone is at the time.
8:56And why teams are studying him is he's created explosive runs, which are very hard to do right now because defenses are really good at tackling right now.
9:04So they've limited explosive runs. But on top of that, he, again, it's like everyone knows how to run counter.
9:09Everyone knows how to do a zone run. Everyone knows how to do a duo run.
9:14All right. How are you popping open these guys?
9:16It can't just be A-chan. Like he's good. Like he's a really good player.
9:20But Jalen Wright is popping off. All the way.
9:23Gordon's popping off. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like most are going for 20 touchdowns.
9:26Like what are you doing? And then that's – it's just finding new ways to do it.
9:31Like there's some wing T influence in there as well.
9:33And again, wing T, like those old school – what we think of service academy offenses, they use motion.
9:39And they just change – they run the same play.
9:41But then they just change who's getting the ball, the angle that the blocker is coming from.
9:46And that's really just all it is. It's just twisting the staples.
9:49You mentioned Keaton Mitchell getting a few touches here and there.
9:52Yeah. And that's probably the biggest question mark for O'Marrion Hampton, right?
9:55It's like how much is he going to get the ball?
9:58And McDaniel was quoted – you know, he's kind of a trickster.
10:02You never really know – in the media, it's hard to really know what he's being truthful about.
10:07But he was like, yeah, sorry fantasy. People like ball's going to move around.
10:10Can't tell you who's going to get it the most.
10:13It's going to be opponent dependent. Do you feel like that is a smokescreen or – like do you feel confident that
10:19Hampton is the guy who will get the majority of carries in the offense?
10:23Or do you think McDaniel is just going to mix it up and give it to whoever and Kamani Vidal is going to get five carries a game?
10:30I think Hampton is the guy. But having said that, there's going to be stuff designed for Mitchell.
10:35So it's like that's what's tough is that just like Moser that one year was he was just getting a lot of play calls inside the 20.
10:43So it might be where Mitchell, they use his speed because – and that's another thing with McDaniel.
10:48He just kind of thinks – looks at sport in the right way.
10:51Like you can tell he really thinks of like size of the field and the angles of everything.
10:56Because when you get into the red zone, you can't attack vertically.
10:59So how do you use speed? Run to the side really, really fast.
11:03And then that's what he does. And so that's where I think Keith Mitchell comes into play is he's going to get
11:09those kind of gimmies that Moser got. So not a lot of yards, but maybe a backwards vulture.
11:14Like it's not the one-yard vulture. It's like the inside the 15 vulture because his speed is – I don't know what
11:20– I was trying to think of a different one, a different bird there.
11:23A craft because he goes inside and eats a vulture.
11:26Yeah. Yeah. It's a vulture. It's a – yeah, I don't know.
11:29I don't want – Vulture is going to hop.
11:32I saw a video the other day. The top comment was like – Like cornerbacks – after cornerback breaks up a pass.
11:38I know. That was great. That was good. Yeah.
11:40It was perfect though. But I saw the tweet originally.
11:43I was like, yeah, okay. And then I saw the vulture.
11:46I'm like, oh, they nailed it. That's exactly what they look like.
11:49It's just – Like Devin Witherspoon's definitely done that.
11:52So I think Mitchell – if I want to – it's like a 70-30 in my head, but the 30% is super valuable.
11:58Like it's like five touches but one touchdown or one big run off of it.
12:02And they might use personnel groupings where they – this is what they did in Miami the last few years where they
12:08get both backs on the field, pony personnel. So that's – so I think he's going to have a role.
12:13There's a reason they went out and got him along with Alec Engel.
12:17That's the other guy that Mike McDaniel had the wanted poster for.
12:20I love McDaniel. McDaniel is just like kind of a troll.
12:23It's like I'll take my shirt off if you draft Brennan Thompson.
12:26Okay. I don't know what to do with that information, but now I'm excited about Brennan Thompson.
12:31I know. We're always like, man, coaches are too curmudgeony.
12:34We need them to be more online and younger.
12:36Oh, not like this. Too much. Too much. Too much.
12:39Get a little bit more – no, we need a little bit more gruffness.
12:43Do less. You're doing too much. So amid all your nuance, Nate, and I think that's really great about all the intricate questions and details about the blocking.
12:50Having said that, we have a Marion Hampton 15th.
12:53And my question is, is that too high or too low?
12:56And I know that that's kind of our job is to figure out the 15th.
13:00But for the Chargers in particular, I think – there's a world where we're figuring out how Marion Hampton is the most
13:06important person in all of fantasy this year. Because Mike McDaniel compared him to Terrell Davis, who – that caught my eye,
13:12who had a 2,000 yards, albeit like 27 years ago.
13:14And I don't know. It's like if you're doing your draft and we took Derek Henry and Ashton Gentry ahead of a
13:20Marion Hampton, are you like kind of looking sideways?
13:23Or does that make total sense to you? Maybe not – maybe not Derek Henry because just look at the rest of
13:29the offense there too and the OC. But no, I – you said 15.
13:33I view him more like I'd be comfortable taking him at 9 or 10.
13:36So like right at the tail end of the first round.
13:39Yeah. And that's the other thing too is Gentry is another one of those guys that I'm buying kind of low on.
13:45I don't know how low you want to call the guy that went top 10 last year.
13:50But a guy that I think will help get boost from the offense surroundings because it's just – it's just a formula for me.
13:57It's running back, talent, Kubiak, Shanahan, offense, profit. Like that's kind of just what I'm kind of going – my betting on there and just competency around him.
14:04So – but no, Hampton I am pretty bullish on this year.
14:07Like even with the Mitchell stuff. Like Mitchell can still have stuff and a role.
14:12But I just think that Hampton is going to get some really juicy touches.
14:15How much would you want to reach for Keaton Mitchell later in drafts?
14:19Like is there a 5% chance he is Raheem Mostert from 2023?
14:22A watered down version of that? Or HN? Yeah.
14:25No, there – yeah. There definitely is a possibility.
14:27And Hampton got binged up last year. Like that's – you know, you got that possibility as well.
14:32No, no. Mitchell is definitely one of those guys of all the – however you want to put it, rollbacks.
14:37You know, you're handcuffed in the backfield, however you put it.
14:40That's like the one that you kind of should be – everybody should be earmarking as kind of like the guy to maybe reach for.
14:47It's like, hey, I don't know. I'll just get Keaton Mitchell and try and get into that backfield.
14:52Because there's a lot of guys – he's going to have a role.
14:56There's like the Kenneth Gainwells and the Rashad White.
14:58Rashad White. That's kind of where Keaton Mitchell is going in drafts right now.
15:02And to you, you're like the upside is much higher with a guy like Mitchell.
15:06Yeah. Yes. Because I think just no matter what, he'll have a role and then the role that could be more if depending on Hampton.
15:13I want to ask you about Herbert a little bit because, you know, no Rashad Slater last year.
15:18Joe Walt really only played a handful of games.
15:20In the first nine weeks when Walt played like half of those, Herbert was the QB six.
15:25And more specifically what I want to ask you about, which I'm curious if you have any thoughts.
15:29Through those nine weeks, Herbert led all quarterbacks in rushing yards, which I don't think people are realizing.
15:3434 yards a game rushing through the first nine weeks.
15:37Do you think that sticks under McDaniel? McDaniel's never really had a mobile quarterback like that.
15:41I mean, especially not in Miami. But like, do you think that will be a part of the game plan?
15:47Do you think it'll be – Herbert is only scrambling?
15:50Or do you think using him like a Josh Allen will be involved in the McDaniel offense?
15:54Those – every time I'm always like, oh, the Shanahan guy's got their running quarterback.
15:58They're going to use him like this, this, and that.
16:01Like just sprinkle in. They never do. Like they just never, ever do.
16:04Like even last year with Clint Kubiak and Sam Darnold.
16:07I was like, oh, yeah, okay. They're going to – they never rushed him.
16:11Like it was just scrambles that he picked up on that.
16:14So if it is something, it's a very designer red zone thing that they see in his own – so I don't
16:20think it's a staple like it is with Josh Allen where they carry six plays every week because we know we might sprinkle them in.
16:27And Josh has always been such a heavy scrambler anyways.
16:29That's also a difference. And maybe I was going to look at the actual numbers.
16:34But Herbert has started to scramble more, period, just the last couple of years.
16:37I think his coaches have encouraged him to be more aggressive as a scrambler.
16:41And he's running for his goddamn life. That too.
16:44Yeah. But he was – he's a very – he's a weird thing because he's like by the book sometimes, Herbert.
16:49Like you want him to be a little bit more – I've always – I've said this before one time.
16:55Like you want him to be a little bit like cheat the class and smoke a cigarette, not such a teacher's pet.
17:01Like he kind of follows the book and it's kind of like, hey, be loose.
17:05Like be like Mahomes a little bit or Josh.
17:07Like just go do some stuff. And I think he tapped into it a little bit.
17:12But then he also just got beat to crap last year where he was – yeah.
17:16So he scrambled 8% of the time last year.
17:18The year before that was 5.5%. The year before that was 6.2%.
17:22So it's increased. And before that was around 3%.
17:24So he's almost more than double what he used to do.
17:27So it is going to be a part of his game.
17:30I think though how banged up he got last year, they're going to shy away from that.
17:35And I also think the circumstances being a little bit better will help that as well.
17:39Just the offense being more – having more auxiliary answers, having better check down options, having better progressions on some stuff.
17:45He doesn't need to scramble as many times. Like when you get taught to play – and my example for this has
17:51always been like me and Russell Wilson taught by Paul Christ.
17:54He would go, all right, Nate, you go one to two to three to check down.
17:58All right, Russ, you go one to two to scramble.
18:01Right. Use your gifts and what you're good at.
18:03You don't want me scrambling. But then Herbert, I don't know what they'll do.
18:07You never want two of scrambling. But maybe McDaniel is like, yeah, yeah, keep it up.
18:11But I think it's going to drop a little but more to that 5% to 6% rate.
18:16So not so much designer runs but scrambles. Because I'm basically looking at like – Herbert is going as like the eighth quarterback in drafts right now.
18:23We have him a little bit higher. But if you really want to break that like top three or four and you're
18:29looking at dudes like Lamar and Josh Allen and Hertz and Drake May, all those guys run and all those guys run into the end zone.
18:36Yeah. And so I'm like, can Herbert reach that tier?
18:39Would he – like he'll need to rush probably to do that.
18:42And you're saying that you're not super confident that that will be a part of the offensive game plan.
18:47Yeah. I don't think week to week it would just be happenstance of scrambling as opposed to designs.
18:52Like those guys get more designs. And Lamar though is running less and less.
18:56Like he dropped from – I mean we could talk about Declan Doyle too.
19:00But he's dropped from like seven and a half design runs to like two last year.
19:04So that's something I'm just kind of keeping an eye on.
19:07It's like is that – Do you factor the hamstring into that at all though?
19:11He was clearly – That's why I don't know.
19:14Is that him just totally changing his game? Is that him with his injuries?
19:18He's going to have to – he has been steadily declining no matter what.
19:21But then it dropped off a cliff last year where it was like wow, you're just kind of – it's pig and chews.
19:28It's more scrambles than design runs which is the difference with him.
19:31So yeah, but that's something I'm keeping my eye on with him is that permanent or not.
19:36So I mean let's just go into the Ravens then.
19:38I think that is the other biggest thing. I mean Lamar – part of me wonders he's almost 30.
19:43You have to stretch. It's like one of those that's kind of an amazing thing that happens in your 20s.
19:49You have to like stretch to work out. Then you have to stretch just walk around when you're 30.
19:54You know what I mean? Just to exist. So maybe now that Lamar can stretch.
19:58I do wonder – we have Lamar as like our number two quarterback behind Josh.
20:02And the question is just – it's not that he's number two but whether you actually reach – do you think that
20:08he will return to that level as a rusher?
20:11But I think the overall offense is the thing I'm most fascinated by because I still think Derrick Henry has it.
20:16And then Zay Flowers is also this bizarre guy where it's like between the 20s, he's amazing.
20:21And then he gets like no end zone targets.
20:23It's he has the – somehow Calvin Johnson disease of falling over at the two-yard line.
20:28And – The only Calvin Johnson – He's a 250-pound finesse runner which is like – it breaks people's brains where it's
20:34like – because he's not like Errol Campbell where he's like – he's very big and extremely hard to tackle.
20:39But Derrick Henry is like I'm really fast too.
20:42I'm going to run by you. So it's like once he gets into the goal line situations, he's like no, I'm breaking this long.
20:48Like as opposed to like I'm putting my head down and running you over.
20:52Like it's just his mindset. Not call him soft or anything.
20:55It was a revelation last year. I think it was last year or the year before when we discovered how bad Derrick Henry is from the one-yard line.
21:02He's terrible. He's just not good at it. It's the last thing you would have expected.
21:07But he topples like a cartoon character. And he can't catch.
21:10He's the weirdest athlete. He catches football. I mean he has receiving stats but those are all screens.
21:15It's like he catches the football like it's a balloon or like a beach ball.
21:19He's like – It's so weird. Like I know some guys can be such good athletes and then certain things they're just not that good at.
21:26Do you want to start with just your overall thoughts on Declan Doyle and what you think the offense is going to look like?
21:32And this is a theory. You know, it's all like I've never seen him call plays.
21:37Your guy is not going to be one-to-one when he comes off of Ben Johnson.
21:41But it's just the – I think what he'll try to do on offense makes sense for what they have.
21:46I think their offensive line will be improved. I really like their O-line coach.
21:50He just came over from Atlanta. And like so I like the stuff that he does.
21:54He got the most out of his guys. Nice zone run heavy scheme.
21:58Doyle and the O-line coach and Eric Henry's best at zone run.
22:01So you can see a lot of zone stuff still.
22:04And also it's just more just – the pass catchers is going to be so interesting to me how they sort that out.
22:10I know Zay Flowers are one of these rookies reel in lane.
22:13I think Elijah Stroud has been struggling a little bit.
22:16How did the tight ends sort themselves out after Mark Andrews?
22:19And really it's just Henry can just kind of keep it going.
22:22But – and two, or kind of continuing the thought of like Lamar not running is he has always been underrated as a pocket passer.
22:29But it's going to be more important now. And I think this offense is conducive to that because it's a tax explosive
22:35plays, which is how you want to use Lamar.
22:38You want him launching stuff down the field. You don't want him nickel and diming.
22:42And because, again, I'll just – I found the stats.
22:44Total rushing yards per game. This is on just design rounds and scrambles.
22:48Lamar had 80 yards per game in 2019. It was 26 last year.
22:51So, again, the year before, last year it was 51 or 2024, I should say.
22:55If it's more that, all right, that's 25 to 30 yards every game we have to figure out how we can find.
23:01You know, to make this math work. And to me, that's hunting for more explosive plays.
23:06Now to me also is which receiver can step up.
23:08And so that's why I'm really clear – outside Zay Flowers, I should say.
23:12So I'm curious kind of like how that unfolds.
23:15So I'm excited, but I also have a lot of questions to see just how it kind of figures out.
23:20So I didn't help you guys at all. No, it was totally good.
23:24Do you think there's any reason – I feel like we joked that Zay Flowers to me is like the siren song
23:30of fantasy football where every year is like just put the wax in your ears, get through the season, and he's not going to pop.
23:36The last two seasons he's on average wide receiver 29.
23:39We talked about it before. In between the 20s, he's fantastic.
23:42He was fifth in target rate over the last two years, seventh in yards per route run.
23:47When he gets in the red zone over the last two seasons, he's tied with Alan Lazard with 50th among all wide receivers in red zone targets.
23:54Do you see any of that changing? Are you buying any of the hype around Zay Flowers or is he going to be the same old guy?
24:01I think he's the same old guy because he's not grown six inches.
24:05Like he is – you know, unless he's excited.
24:07That you know him. It's just because – yeah.
24:10Hey. But it's just – that's in the red zone.
24:13Usually, if you have the drop off, it's going to be lack of feel or ball skills, which is something that showed
24:19up with Julio sometimes of all people. But then also if you just lack size.
24:23And sometimes quarterback-wise, guys are worse in the red zone because they don't have that arm zip to really just drive it through a whole bunch of guys.
24:30Or they have poor play call design. Lamar has always been funky in the red zone.
24:35Like he prefers to kind of – this is where he prefers to create his place and do stuff off script.
24:40That's not great for a guy like Zay Flowers who's really – who's smaller.
24:44That's better for big guys. Like that's why Marco Andrews always gets those touches that he drops half the time.
24:50So it's – that's kind of – I think it's just always going to be that way with Zay Flowers.
24:55I just generally getting back to Declan Doyle real quick because I kind of want you to just do this for every
25:01new offense since we don't know a ton about Declan Doyle.
25:04Like is there something like a signature that Declan Doyle – like I know he comes from the Sean Payton tree.
25:10I don't really know what that means exactly. You know what I mean?
25:13Yeah. What can we kind of expect from this offense?
25:16Probably somewhat – nothing crazy different just because Lamar has been so good.
25:19But like is there something that stands out as like, oh, this is what we're going to see that we haven't really seen before with him?
25:26Yeah. Like Lamar – and that's the thing. Lamar has done quote-unquote real quarterback stuff on your center, play action, all that
25:32stuff we talk about all the time. And so I think it is going to be more of that.
25:38That's something they kind of made Caleb do last year.
25:40And Caleb at first was like, oh, crap. And then by the end of the year, it was like looking really good.
25:46Lamar has already shown that he's been pretty good at that.
25:49So you're going to see a little bit more kind of a traditional attack.
25:53And Munkin had them do that as well. Greg Roman has had Lamar do that.
25:57So it's not something, again, too different like you were saying, DK.
26:00So, again, under center run game, a lot of zone, a lot of boots off those zones, a lot of kind of
26:06like movement throws, which Lamar is good at as well.
26:09Very chunk heavy though, this offense. That's – I've likened Ben Johnson's offense and Sean Payton really originally.
26:14But then what I think Doyle is going to do, it's like a three-point shooting basketball offense where it's – yeah, sometimes
26:20you only have a 55% completion percentage. And there's some drives where you go three and out.
26:25But then there's some drives you score in two plays.
26:27There's some drives you score in five plays. And it's 20 yards a pop.
26:31And boom, boom, boom. And all of a sudden you score on the defense.
26:35There's no idea what hit them. So it's going to be a lot more chunk heavy.
26:39Again, Lamar and the Ravens offense has tapped into this before.
26:42But it really, to me, I'd feel better if I just really knew what I'm getting with the pass catchers.
26:48Because, again, I'm not super high on flowers as a real football player.
26:51I can't believe they paid him that much money.
26:54Insane. Yeah. I've been going crazy on it. I think he's a fine number two.
26:58But I'm like, that's a lot of money. It's crazy.
27:00One of the highest paid receivers in the league.
27:03I think there's a Baltimore tax. Like the Ravens, for whatever reason, can't attract free agency receivers.
27:08And, you know, there's Jacoby Lane is getting a lot of hype.
27:11But a lot of it is because Jameson Henley tweeted that I've covered the Ravens for 27 years.
27:16And he's the best guy. And I saw that.
27:18I'm like, well, Dave Flowers is the only Pro Bowl receivers the Ravens have ever had.
27:22Jameson Henley hasn't seen many good receivers. It's how old Steve Smith.
27:26And that's like it. Yeah. And I'm like, if you'd been covering like a different team, like the Vikings, you'd be like,
27:32man, Jacoby Lane's not even one of the best receivers I've ever seen.
27:35Right. Well, that's actually funny. When my dad was with the Vikings, they signed a couple of former Ravens receivers that like had better years with the Vikings.
27:43They said that's just like their philosophy. They're just going to sign broken Ravens receivers and profit with a better offense.
27:49Like Marcus Robinson was one. But no, it's yeah.
27:51No, that's actually a really good point because the Ravens have never really had a two.
27:55I think it's a Belichick thing. This is a total tangent.
27:58But I think it's because Belichick set up their system.
28:01And for what I think the Patriots and Ravens not being able to find receivers is related.
28:06I'm convinced of this, but we don't have to get into that tangent.
28:09Oh, no. There's definitely a Patriots reason. It's because he overweighs special teams value too much.
28:14And it's like good receivers don't play special teams.
28:16They're too good to play special teams. Like they might be a returner.
28:19But like, yeah, sorry. That's disappointed with Debo Samuel as a gunner.
28:23And he's like, yeah, it's not. It's just not for me.
28:26Just not for me. So speaking of real quick of the Ravens making decisions with their cap and who they're going to sign.
28:32They retained Mark Andrews, let likely go. What's the deal with Mark Andrews?
28:36What have you seen from him? Like just watching the tape?
28:38Is he washed at this point? Can we expect something big for him this year?
28:43Kind of a bounce back? What do you think?
28:45I think stat like I've never been big on him.
28:48I think he's really inconsistent player, which kind of shows up.
28:51Yeah. Especially when you're like this, you're nine. You kind of know what you're getting.
28:55But he's a fine enough blocker. And then as a receiver, again, where his value has come was with Lamar creating.
29:00Like he has a great him and Lamar have one of those weird synergies, weird chemistries, especially in the red zone.
29:06But I think Lamar's trying to get away from that game.
29:09So I think that's why Mark Andrews has felt less productive because he's never really been an in-process productive guy, if that
29:15makes sense, or in the line of play, in the progression, I should say.
29:19It's more just the stuff that happens outside the play.
29:22So I, again, not super high on him. I think they need to find a guy that's a better blocker too.
29:27I think they really like that Matt Hibner guy.
29:30Yeah. But the rookie tight end, so that might be – I shouldn't tell you guys any rookies.
29:35We're in the same dynasty. I'm not worried about you and the dynasty.
29:38You know how long I had to go without talking about Ryan Fornoy to the Traders Alley chat?
29:43I literally picked up Hibner today in Traders Alley.
29:46Did you? I just ruined it. I meant to do that.
29:49It's all right. You guys enjoy your waiver transactions.
29:51I'll just sit here with three of the four trophies.
29:54I'm just going to – Okay. Because you got Josh Allen, the number one pick.
29:58Well. I got Herbert with third, which might work out this year finally.
30:01Oh, Herbert has no fifth wins. That's crazy. Yeah, but it doesn't matter for fantasy.
30:05It's great. It's awesome. Who cares? It's just weeks one through 16, baby.
30:09We're 17 now. No, the – where was it?
30:11Oh, no. No, Hibner. No, this is actually why I didn't say shit about Ryan Fornoy for weeks and months because I
30:17was trying to get him on all my fantasy teams.
30:20That's hilarious. And then I started talking about him after I did that.
30:24Yeah. He was one of those guys, him and Mitchell Evans for the Panthers.
30:27No, but I think that's another thing. It's just – so it's like, I don't know, the best way to do it
30:33too long to read of the Ravens, I guess, is the center is really important.
30:37I have no idea who's starting at center for them.
30:40Okay. And then also is their auxiliary parts, auxiliary receivers, backup tight ends.
30:44They need one of those guys to step up, and I would feel a lot better.
30:48But right now I'm kind of like, like Lamar, I think I'm going to like Doyle.
30:52I like the line coach, but the rest of them kind of just squinting out a little bit.
30:57So like last – two years ago, Lamar threw 41 touchdowns.
31:00If he throws for 30 this year, who catches the most touchdowns on the team?
31:04It's probably going to be Andrews. You do. Yeah, because it's just the red zone stuff.
31:09Yeah, I know. That's a good way to put it.
31:11That's actually a good way to kind of shorthand it.
31:14I'm buying Lamar. I'm buying Derek Henry in the weirdest year.
31:17Or he's kind of the outlier. Like, you know, it's like I get it, but we don't see 250-pound running backs run a 4-4.
31:24So he's going to – his aging curve is going to look a little different than the guys that are 5'10", 190 pounds back in the day.
31:31Like his aging curve looks different. But that's the only two I'm buying in in this offense if I'm from a fantasy
31:37sense because I like it in more of a real football sense than individual fantasy members.
31:41That's why I wanted to talk about it a little bit because it's interesting to sort out.

32:14Speaking of buying into only two guys on a team, should we talk about the Raiders?
32:18No, let's do it. Give me your overall thoughts on Kubiak and Vegas and how much of a bump you're going to
32:24give this team offensively because of it. Big bump because it came out that Pete Carroll's son, who was the line coach, didn't coach.
32:31So just coaching. Austin just bitches about this constantly.
32:33Meeting without him. Meeting without him. Chip Kelly was just like, oh man, highest paid OC ever.
32:38Later. This is great. I don't care what happens.
32:40It was a mess last year. Last one in, first one out for all the coaches.
32:45Oh man. I have more power to them. No state income tax.
32:48All that. I am bullish on overall what's going to be in a year in 27.
32:52But I also think Gentry is the one to you.
32:55I'm a big buy on him this year, especially if he's kind of falling further than I want him to or I think he should.
33:02And again, it's just the math of a Kubiak Shannon offense because this line was so bad last year.
33:07It was the best running back rushing success rate in the league.
33:10And Gentry is way more talented than that. But, and the O-line had a little bit more to him.
33:15And they're added to the O-line, which is Tyra Linderbaum.
33:18You know, Colton Miller is fine. The rest of the O-line, I would say, is fine.
33:22But it's not the worst in the week. You know, it's not how bad it was last year.
33:27The offense, and this is why the Seahawks run game offense felt better than maybe the totality of their offensive line because
33:33their center and right guard weren't great. This offensive or this offensive system helps the O-line.
33:38So if the O-line just even feels average, then a really talented running back like Gentry is going to kind of, you know, reap the benefits of that.
33:45And on top of that, I think they have enough receiving because of Bowers.
33:49But then Trey Tucker is like the real kind of like, if you just want a late, late, late dart throw, you have a deep bench redraft league.
33:57Like maybe a Trey Tucker on your team isn't the worst because he's going to have a very valid role in this offense.
34:03It's going to be a lot of verticality from him.
34:06So can he can, in this offense, like they love these types of guys.
34:09Rashid Chaeed would be a recent example. But I mean, just anyone in these offenses, they've really benefited from that.
34:15So that'd be one guy maybe by, but I like what they're building here.
34:19It's more maybe for 2027, 2028 with Fernando. But I do like kind of what this offensive system is.
34:24And I think Gentry's up. I think he's priced okay right now.
34:27But put it like if I end up with him, I'm fairly happy about it.
34:31So that's maybe my best way to put it.
34:33So he's going 10th in drafts. I know. We have him ranked a little bit after that.
34:38Like we have him ranked one spot ahead of Derrick Henry.
34:41Derrick Henry last year put up over 1700 total yards and had 16 touchdowns.
34:45Yeah. I guess the question is like for Gentry to be the 10th overall pick in a fantasy draft, that Henry stat
34:51line doesn't need to just be possible for Gentry.
34:53It kind of needs to be like borderline likely.
34:56Like do you think like 1500 plus yards and like 15 touchdowns is kind of like, yeah, that's probably what Gentry's going to have this year.
35:03275 catches. Hold on. What did A-chain have? He's like slow down.
35:06He's like, whoa, whoa. I'm like 1515 touchdowns. That's like, I'm trying to rack my brain.
35:10Okay. Okay. This is what I think is a safe.
35:13Yeah. Okay. What Devon A-chain had last year is kind of like what I think is kind of my median projection for Gentry this year.
35:20So he had 1350 yards, eight touchdowns. And the receiving, he had 67 catches, 488 yards and four touchdowns.
35:25So that is like 1800 total yards and like 15, 16 touchdowns.
35:28Yeah. And I think that's kind of my like pretty high, like 70th, 80th percentile projection kind of thing.
35:34Like that's how I put it. But I'm betting on that, if that makes sense.
35:38Again, I like other guys, but he's one. I feel like, yeah, people are giving him a bump, but I feel like
35:44it's right where he's at is kind of fair.
35:46Like with bullish error pointing up. My fear with Gentry is that every year there's a running back in the top, you
35:52know, 12 running backs or top six really that Rich Rebar was talking about this at Warren Sharpe site that usually good
35:58running backs in fantasy are on winning teams because they're giving the ball carries and scoring touchdowns.
36:03And there's sometimes one good guy, but usually you have to be on a winning team.
36:07And this year, I feel like Devon A-chain is going to be on a losing team.
36:11Ashton Jensen is going to be a losing team.
36:14So my question is, do you actually think the Raiders might win nine games?
36:18Because if not, the Raiders, like the Gentry going around the Bills and the Bills are probably going to win 12 games
36:23and Saquon and the Eagles could win 12 games and the Ravens with Derek Henry.
36:28Derek Henry has the Ravens defense. And I'm like looking around and I'm like, Jensen is just the team is so much
36:34worse that I worry that he needs to move to the back of this line of the Chargers who maybe could win a bunch of games.
36:41Maybe you believe in the Chargers or not. The Chiefs with Ken Walker, Chase Brown and the Bengals, like who have the easiest schedule in the NFL.
36:48That's my fear. I'm like, well, the team's probably going to suck.
36:51And so then I look at Brock Bowers because the defense on the Raiders is probably not great.
36:56And I keep wondering if Brock Bowers is like JSN last year when Clint Kubiak was coordinated with the Seahawks offense.
37:02Do you, am I crazy to say that? Do you feel like the point of half the Raiders dropbacks will be just get the ball to Brock?
37:09Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, there's be a heavy usage.
37:12Like this, this off, this is why I'm talking about Harmon at Yahoo.
37:15Like last year, we were very bullish on JSN because it was like if all these Kubiak-Shaneh and offenses, if they have
37:21a dude at receiver or tight end, they're going to hyper focus on him.
37:25They're going to funnel everything through him and everything builds off of that.
37:28And they'll find different ways to do it. But I keep coming back to when Clint Kubiak or Gary Kubiak, I'm sorry, was with Owen Daniels in Houston.
37:36And that's one where it's like they've used Owen Daniels to a pro bowl.
37:40And Bowers is way better than that. So like there is Jordan Reed with Washington, with the commanders.
37:45Yeah. When he was with Kyle Shanahan, had a hype.
37:47I think he had a year where he was the leading target getter.
37:51Oh, I looked this up just the other day, I think on our show.
37:55I think it was the 2014 commanders that had Kirk Cousins as their quarterback under Jay Gruden.
37:59And I could be wrong here. 2015, I think.
38:02Jordan Reed had 950 yards and 11 touchdowns that year.
38:05Thank you. And they will hyper fixate on tight end if they have a tight end.
38:09And so that's who else? Like Jack Bash, yeah, fine.
38:12I like Trey Tucker. It was almost like a meme.
38:14You know, like it's like there's who else am I going to target?
38:18Like Jalen Naylor, I actually did like that signing.
38:20But again, it's more of a real football sense than like, oh, he's just break out in fantasy.
38:25So yeah, the 2015 Washington commanders is kind of what I point at.
38:29If you want Bowers kind of like optimism. That wasn't just 14 games too.
38:33And that was Alfred Morris that year that got banged up.
38:36So that was the year that they didn't get the run game going either.
38:39So I know weird year, but Kirk Cousins was quarterback as well.
38:43So there's a little history as well with that.
38:45Speaking of him, how many games does Kirk Cousins start?
38:48I looked this up. I think it was 11 or 12 was my guess.
38:52So about this year? Yeah, their buys in week 13.
38:54See, Nate's on top of this. I thought he said look up the 2014 Washington.
38:58No, no, no, no, no, no. No, I looked this up on our show because we had the same guess.
39:04I think week 13 is their buy. Yeah. And then the schedule after that.
39:08This is what Austin's been saying is exactly the same.
39:10Like after they buy, then they go to Fernando.
39:13If I remember correctly, they have a murderer's row to start the season.
39:16Yeah. Yeah. And then so it's like, yeah, I wouldn't want my guy in there.
39:20But then after that, then we start Halloween to after week 13, you know, ish.
39:24Hi, Fitz. If you're comparing Brock Bowers to other wide receivers going around him, like because as much as everybody can love
39:30Brock Bowers, you are comparing him basically to other wide receiver ones going in drafts.
39:34Like we have him ranked right next to A.J.
39:37Brown. Do you feel like you want to take Brock Bowers over A.J.
39:40Brown straight up? I do, because if you don't get the running back in the second round that it's like I if
39:46Brock, if you want to take Brock Bowers versus Nico Collins, Drake, London, A.J.
39:50Brown, the way I look at it is you could wait.
39:53You could take Brock Bowers there, wait four rounds, and then you could just get like Christian Watson or got maybe even like Mike Evans.
40:00And I'd rather have Christian Watson or Mike Evans and Brock Bowers than flip it and get like, you know, you might
40:06end up with like Dallas Goddard at tight end or something.
40:09And I'm like, I don't know. Maybe I'm crazy and I'm totally wrong, but I just kind of like, I don't know
40:15when the season starts and two was thrown to Drake London.
40:18I'd rather just have Brock Bowers and just hope that that Brock Bowers is going to break football because he's like he
40:24could just outdo Nico Collins in some statistical categories, but he's going to be doing a tight end.
40:29And so, but you still want Gentie, Derek Henry, Kenneth Walker, Chase Brown, Hampton.
40:33You would take all those guys. Then the top 12 running backs.
40:36Yes. That's everyone higher than Jeremiah Love. And then Jeremiah Love.
40:39I have like 12 spots between him and the next running back for me or like either tight ends and receivers and
40:45stuff, but the top 12 running backs, the elite receivers.
40:48And then I'm like Bowers time for me. It's a good segue.
40:51If you want to talk about Arizona, I was going to say they, I am very biased against Arizona.
40:56I have no idea what you think. But I feel like little baby LaFleur was the 10th head coach hired out of
41:0210 cycle and 10 in the cycle. They were last team to fill out their staff, which is a sneaky disaster thing
41:08that always happens to bad teams who fill out a coach late.
41:11And then you get the sloppy tents of everybody who was not hired by the previous nine head coaches.
41:16And then it's always like Aaron Glenn with the jets just got rid of a third of his staff because he was the last guy hired.
41:23And so they have Nate Hackett, a coordinator. And I'm like, I don't care about what's going on here.
41:29You're in a division where Kyle Shanahan and the Niners and Mike McDonald, the Seahawks and McVay and the Rams.
41:34And I'm like, everyone understands what you want to do better than you do.
41:38And I'm just looking at this and I'm like, you have no shot and you have stupid haircut.
41:43And with that said, is there anything I'm missing?
41:45I think he's fucking pissed. I'm just out. It's a bad organization.
41:48They play like the hardest division. Leading the winner.
41:51Or hardest schedule. I think this year too. The worst divisional odds I've ever seen.
41:55And again, they come in last in the NFL piece.
41:58So it's a bad organization with a bad owner.
42:00And again, so with that said. A lot of good offensive players.
42:03Good players. Good players. Hopefully they get into some track meets and you just kind of benefit from that, from a Looney Tunes offense.
42:10I think. No, I, I get this. I am someone that bonded to drew petsing and what the offense was going to be.
42:16I actually liked the D coordinator, Nick Rawless. And I was like, yeah, Cardinals are sneaky.
42:20Watch them under Jonathan Gannon. And having truly, truly a year from hell last year, truly a year from hell.
42:26That. Yeah. Kind of like wanted to temper all this.
42:29And then maybe it's kind of like me and Matt Harmon.
42:32Just, you know, it's two girls saying exactly to each other.
42:35Kind of, you know, kind of going back and forth.
42:37Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. Marvin Harrison Jr. With a quarterback that throws over the middle.
42:41Yeah. Exactly. Like, you know, you know, so I think that I think really it is too, is the floor.
42:46I do like Michael for, as far as like some of the play calling, I think he will bring, even if he
42:52is just again, Bobby slow level, you know, I do think, no, that's better than that.
42:57He's better than that. But I do think that there is stuff, core concepts he's going to bring.
43:02Like he had a lot of input on what the Rams did changing the run game.
43:06There's other components to that. Other stuff that guys they hired, but he had a big input in all that and the play design of all that.
43:13But I do think that their personnel fits what he wants to do.
43:17Like Michael Wilson is a perfect fit for this offense because he's a good blocker.
43:21He can line up at all three spots. So he's kind of the sneaky buy.
43:25I think he's not sneaky anymore. I think people are already hyped up on him.
43:29But he's the guy I'm like, I'm trying to find the right price for.
43:33And I think Marvin Harrison Jr. It's a buy low.
43:36It's a, hey, if he's falling, everybody who thinks he smells, like you can get more out of him because his offense again.
43:42Yeah. Yeah. I don't think he's ever going to live up to his billing.
43:46But if you have a quarterback right now that actually throws a dig route, you have an offensive coordinator that's going to
43:52change up his route tree a little bit. And he's going to get used more like Brandon Cook's got used in that Rams offense when he was there.
43:59And so that's the type of kind of production, I think, for Marvin Harrison Jr.
44:03Because he's not going to be used as a blocker.
44:06He's going to be used as a finesse route runner.
44:09And I think that matches him a little bit better.
44:11Plus a quarterback that actually throws the routes that he's good at, which is usually those end breakers.
44:16And again, Trey McBride, Trey McBride. Even if I'm a little, still think he's the same player.
44:21But fantasy-wise, I'm a little lower on Trey McBride this year.
44:24Just fantasy-wise, but not as a football player. Just because of mouths to feed?
44:28Because he won't run the most routes in the history of the position.
44:31Kyler loved Trey McBride. Jacoby targets him a decent amount.
44:34But Kyler would just bypass the reads just to find Trey McBride because he trusted him so much.
44:39Yeah, I think that's the question. I love Trey McBride, too.
44:42But how high is too high? It's probably too high right now just based on the natural regression from being one of the highest targeted tight ends ever.
44:50You'd probably just expect that to come down a little bit.
44:53Right. I'd rather buy on Loveland or Warren than McBride this year.
44:56And again, McBride is the exact same player. It's nothing against what he is as a player.
45:00It's just fantasy production. I think it was just the perfect circumstances last year.
45:04You mentioned what LaFleur did in the run game with the Rams.
45:07Now him in Arizona with Jeremiah Love, who looked awesome in this preseason game last weekend until he hurt his ankle.
45:13If you set the ankle injury aside, do you think we are underrating his usage and how strong it will be?
45:19I think there was a lot of, once again, like coach speak.
45:22It was like, we're going to be mixing in everybody, Algier and James Conner, whatever.
45:26He out snapped Algier 16 to 6 in this game this weekend.
45:29He played on third down. He played inside the Ted Yard line.
45:33Do you feel like this will be less of a split than people perhaps thought if Jeremiah Love is healthy and that actually we should be?
45:40Not that there's a dip on him at all, but like I do think in the fantasy community, people are a little
45:46bit worried that this is like a, we'll wait until next year with Jeremiah Love.
45:50Do you think that's perhaps short-sighted and you should just get him now?
45:53Man, that's tough. It's what my best answer is.
45:56I would prefer him in Dynasty to redraft this year just because I want to see how it plays out.
46:01But that's a cop-out answer. Algier is going to have a role because the thing about Algier is that he earns that
46:07play time because he's good in protection. He's a good receiver.
46:10He never fumbles. So last year, Algier played about 30% of the snaps.
46:14If Love were healthy, that's exactly the same thing.
46:16I think it's a 70-30 or a 65-35 thing where they split by series.
46:20Bajan would go two series and then Algier would get one.
46:23That works out to about two-third, one-third. So that's how I envision this role.
46:27Algier is a coach's favorite type. He's also one of the most perpetually underrated players in the league.
46:32I don't understand why he didn't have a free agent market, but that's a whole separate conversation.
46:36But then he goes on this team, of course.
46:39I'm not worried about James Conner at all because just injuries, the age, the toll that he's taken as far as fantasy terms.
46:45He's a great teammate to have in real football terms.
46:48But I really do think Wentz Love comes back healthy.
46:50But it is a high ankle sprain. And that is a six-week injury.
46:54And I've been pounding the table about this on my pod on Football 301 is just being like, it's a four-week injury
47:00really to where you've kind of looked the same.
47:02But to looking 100%, it's six weeks. So like any time about week one or anything, so that's another reason why I'm
47:08buying a little bit lower is I think it's going to be week three-ish until he's actually kind of like, all right.
47:14So they might ease them back in anyways because that is their prize pick.
47:18So I do think Algier will have a role that will eat into some of it.
47:22Real quick, Nate. People were comparing Jeremiah Love to Adrian Peterson this past weekend, the way he runs.
47:27Who's your comp, by the way? Leading the witness here, Honor.
47:30It's OJ Simpson. It's just my on-the-field running comparison.
47:33And if you watch them run, you'll have the same – I guess you can watch OJ Made in America to watch
47:39that if you want to, to see the totality of it.
47:42But no, he runs like OJ Simpson. I mean, Jeremiah Love doesn't know who Jared Goff is.
47:46He might not even know who OJ Simpson is.
47:49Right. God damn it. Exactly. So yeah, we're fine there.
47:51Let's put him in the new naked gun, Jeremiah Love.
47:54He's a great man. Wait, you saw the video where Jeremiah Love didn't know who Jared Goff was, right?
47:59I didn't, but that's hilarious. He went on a Monro Samperin's podcast and they showed all these – they had like cutouts, like headshots.
48:06And they pulled up Jared Goff and he's like, who's that?
48:09And they're like, you ever heard of this guy?
48:11He's like, oh. He's like, Lions quarterback. He's like, oh, okay.
48:14When? And Omonro's like, now. He's my quarterback. He's like, I had a quarterback.
48:18No, it's not that he didn't recognize him. It's that he'd never heard of Jared Goff.
48:22That's crazy. They said the name and he was like, who?
48:25I kind of like that. He's just doing his own thing.
48:28It's not like some seventh rounder that came out of number.
48:31He was the number one pick. And that was 10 years ago.
48:35So how old was he? So he was probably 12?
48:37Yeah. 11? I mean – I just love the idea that he was like, when?
48:41Omonro's like, now. He's like, that's your quarterback now?
48:44He's like, oh, he's great. Do you guys remember Ryan Tannehill didn't know the divisions?
48:48Really? Oh, really? It's on Hard Knocks. Yeah. When they did the Dolphins, when he was a rookie, they talked about the divisions in the NFL.
48:55And he didn't know the NFL had divisions and he didn't know what they are.
48:59Who's that? Ryan Tannehill, first-round quarterback. Top 15 pick.
49:02My lord. Right? And that's the thing. It's like, I get it.
49:05I'm a nerd about sports. Yeah, yeah. I know I'm preaching to the choir here when we talk all about it and stuff like that.
49:12But it's like, what were you doing? He didn't know they had divisions?
49:15Yeah, that's it. Like, Puka not knowing the Cardinals are in the NFC West.
49:19I get it. That's Puka. And it's on the Cardinals.
49:22They're not competitive. A quarterback, you'd think you know what the idea of a division is.
49:26Yeah. And also, if I draft a quarterback in the first round, he better be a freaking junkie about football and actually know that.
49:33Like, that would be a question I actually want to have for guys now.
49:36It's like, name me the teams in each division.
49:39I want to know what you know. That's a good interview question.
49:42That's like way worse than no one come into the quarterback's birthday party.
49:46I think so, too. But, you know, that should be the plot for drafting, too.
49:50They're both red flags, but yeah. The old scout, there's an old scout adage about like a quarterback has to be one
49:56of two things, either an angel or an asshole.
49:58And it's like, so you want either the guy that everyone loves would take a freaking bullet for or the guy everyone
50:04hates, but you got to just respect the talent.
50:06Yeah. You can't have the guy in the middle.
50:09They rally around you because they hate you so much, but God dang, you're good.
50:13Or, man, he's the best guy ever. He's the greatest.
50:16So you got to think you're God or believe in God or think you are God.
50:20Yeah. That's a better way to put it. I like that.
50:23I'm going to yell at that old scout. Stupid scout.
50:26Yeah. All right. Wait, before we get off the Cardinals real quick, Marvin Harrison Jr.
50:30Is he good? Not as good as I thought he would be.
50:33Okay. I think that's the best way to put it.
50:36How good did you think he would be? I thought he'd be just like his dad.
50:40I thought he'd be a taller version of his dad.
50:43I thought he was just going to be a souped up reception monster.
50:46I didn't think he'd be a star star, like an overpowering monster, like the dude.
50:50But I thought he would just be a super productive, like we look at it, a high end tier two borderline tier one guy.
50:57Kind of like that. Like, yeah. But I thought like medium, like actually Brandon Cooks production wise, I thought, okay, we're going
51:03to get at least that out of him. You know, 1,200 yards, seven, eight touchdowns.
51:07You're not totally scared about him, but man, he can kill you.
51:10But now I'm kind of like, yeah, that's actually kind of more the comparison I might think of of what his career ends up being more like.
51:18Just a taller Brandon Cooks. Man. The catch point stuff is real.
51:21It showed up too much. Is that why he got so big, like big muscles this offseason, big biceps?
51:26He's just like, I need to like win at the catch point.
51:29Stronger grip strength. I mean, hopefully, because that showed up.
51:32Like, that's not just even a talking point. Or it's a justified talking point, I should say.
51:37Like, because it showed up in games and it showed up my first, I went to a Cardinals practice.
51:42Again, I was so bullish on him. I even went to freaking camp a couple of years ago.
51:47And him and Kyler could not connect. Like, they went like 0 for 5.
51:51And I was like, hmm. All right. But all of them were like contested ones.
51:55And they're like, they're moving away. And I was like, all right.
51:58Keep that in the back of my head. And it's like never gone away.
52:02So I think that's always going to be a thing until proven otherwise.
52:05Can I? Sorry. I just got to tell you.
52:08I'm reading this quote from Marvin Harrison. It says, this is a quote from last year, the coaching staff.
52:13Oh, no. I spoiled it. I was going to read you a quote and pretend it was this year.
52:18But it was last year. But the point was, Marvin Harrison's new physique will really help him this year.
52:23But it's just. I was going to say, he got big last year.
52:27Everything you guys said. Yeah. He did it already.
52:29But he's bigger now. He's going to keep getting bigger.
52:32He's doubling down on it. More every year. The tires on his truck are just bigger every year.
52:37Look how cool this is. Swear. No, it's the Bart Simpson when he wants to be tall in the movie.
52:42Like he's not. So he has the pointed up hair and he stands on the high platform shoes.
52:47And he's like, no. He has like the little tiny Chihuahua dog to make himself look bigger.
52:52The visual is better than my explanation. I can picture it.
52:55Yeah. We do memento tattoos every year. Like the Christopher Nolan movie where we tattoo lessons from the season before on our bodies that we can't forget.
53:02Last year we tattooed on ourselves that Michael Wilson is better than Marvin Harrison.
53:06And we're like, we're just not going to take.
53:08I watched it with my eyes. I watched how good Michael Wilson.
53:11I'm just not doing it. I'm not taking Marvin Harrison Jr.
53:14over him. We had to stick that. I don't know if we've all done it, but at least two of us have
53:20Marvin Harrison one spot below Michael Wilson. Do you think straight up raw fantasy stats, who's going to have more this year?
53:26I think Marvin Harrison Jr. still ends up with it all.
53:29But the thing is, I'd rather buy into Michael Wilson because at price where I think he'll end up going in fantasy.
53:35But that's the thing too. It's like us talking is different than each league is so different.
53:40Like, you know what I mean? Like some people are going to value Wilson properly and some are just going to be like, who?
53:46Marvin Harrison Jr. He's good, right? You know, like you got to weigh that kind of stuff.
53:51But they should be close together. I still think Harrison Jr.
53:54is just going to get some nice touches in this offense.
53:57Like I just think Wilson would go to ask, and this is kind of the kind of no good D goes unpunished.
54:03Like, oh, he's a good blocker. All right, let's have him block more.
54:07All right, Marvin, you don't have to block now.
54:09Here's your touchdown. You know, sometimes you get screwed in those kind of roles.
54:13Like, you know, thanks Robert Woods for blocking the guy.
54:16Here's another little touchdown, Brandon. Like that's kind of like maybe I kind of think of that in my head.
54:21But again, if the price is fair, I'm trying to get Wilson.
54:24Like I think that's the guy I kind of want it.
54:27I think he's the one that can outperform where he gets drafted the easiest.
54:31So there's more timelines for that. Is there a team that you're concerned about?
54:35Like a team where everyone's like, they're getting 18 new play callers.
54:38They can't all be, you know, rainbows and sunshine.
54:41Is there any team where you're like, I don't know if this is going to work?
54:45Oh my God. Yeah. I even texted you this.
54:47Yeah. The Titans, Brian Dable. Oh my God. That preseason game was like, I, you know, I have alarm bells going with
54:53Brian Dable, but now it's just ringling, ring, ring.
54:56I couldn't even watch. I was my everything turned red.
54:58It was just, it was just, it was just everything bad.
55:01It was, it was the Daniel Jones offense in 2022 or 2023, 2022.
55:05Oh my God. It was the same thing. RPOs, the run game actually had some moments, but it was the same RPOs that you ran with Daniel Jones.
55:13And again, it's preseason week one, but it was like, but it's the same old.
55:17So it's like, so that's, what's the concerning is like that Dable has not shown to me that he can trot out
55:23the staple, you know, the basic black and white stuff on week, you know, preseason week one.
55:27It's like, that's what he's going to run. You know, it's not like other guys, like Andy Reid will be super basic.
55:33And then the season starts. It's a lot different.
55:36It's like, no, Dable has not shown me anything, but yeah.
55:39I was concerned because I've been saying for like months now, like the whole summer, basically that I was like, I think
55:45Brian Dable has made every quarterback he's played like coached better for like 10 years going back to like Bama.
55:50And again, I think it's hard. It's less of a point now because Daniel Jones was good, but yeah.
55:55Right. A year ago from today, it was pretty impressive to have won a playoff game with Daniel Jones, but I have to admit the priest.
56:02I was shocked at how the Titans could like, they couldn't really complete screen passes.
56:06Nope. And I was, I got to tell you, I was, the wind was out of my sails because I actually thought
56:12the Titans might be better than the Colts this year straight up.
56:16And then I watched that and I was like, ah, it's the preseason.
56:19Right. But I, I, I'm pretty nervous. I, I was starting like this thing is like, I, I preview the AFC South today actually.
56:26So I was even talked about this was, it was like, all right, Robert Sala.
56:30He has his warts, but like, man, he always gets defense going.
56:33Like the defense will play hard. Like his players always play hard for him.
56:37I will credit him with that. And I was like, they built the defense up where I was like, man, this front
56:43seven is going to like bash some heads in.
56:45Like, seriously, it's going to be a kick-ass defense.
56:48So I was like, all right, all right. And then the whole line, I'm like, eh, they drafted Carnell Tate.
56:53And I was like, okay. And then the preseason though, the whole line looked good.
56:57JC Latham looked way better than he did the last couple of weeks, a couple of years.
57:02I should even say they had this other rookie Fernando Carmona, who I'm deep in the draft to not watch him, but he was very, very productive.
57:09I thought in the first preseason game. So like, maybe we start feeling better.
57:13Then I'm watching the passes and I'm like, Wendell Robinson, who's been in this offense for what?
57:18Five years now. Like, how he ran the bubble was weird.
57:21Like, he didn't get enough depth. And then it was like, you work on bubbles from day one.
57:25So from OTAs, that's what you warm up with.
57:28And if that's like a not feeling right, it's just one of those canary in the coal mines for me.
57:33It's like, whoa, what is this whole offensive infrastructure looking like now?
57:37You know, like everything else looks a little convoluted.
57:39So I'm still high on Cam Ward. Like, there's no stat I can point at that goes like, trust me here, bro.
57:45Like, he's going to be good. It's just more just tape.
57:48But like, how that looked was really concerning to me.
57:51And Cam Ward had a wide open corner route and it was a good play design.
57:55Doesn't even look, like he looks at the guy and just starts scrambling.
57:59So he doesn't feel comfortable on what looks like a core concept.
58:02So like I said, the alarm bells are ring-a-linging right now.
58:05And I just don't. I'm scared Dable's going to go, oh, I have like every other running quarterback I've ever had.
58:11I'm just going to run Cam Ward. He's young.
58:13Like, he can do it. And it's like, no, Cam wants to win from the pocket.
58:17Like, whenever Dable gets stressed, he just runs his quarterback.
58:20So it's like, you know, that's his fight or flight.
58:23I'm going to run my quarterback. It's actual flight.
58:25And so I'm a little scared. He's going to try Cam Ward and do the same thing.
58:30Yeah. It's, I don't know. It's, the alarm bells are ringing.
58:33I like the defense, but the offense is a little scary right now.
58:36Is that something, because I don't, you know, I don't remember clearly enough.
58:40But like, is a lack of detail been kind of an issue for the Dable offenses going back from the Giants through like onto the Bills and everything?
58:47Like, has a lack of detail been an issue or is that kind of just like something that's happening now?
58:53You're like, oh, I don't know about this. It was the Bills.
58:56It was pretty loosey goosey because he allowed a lot of choice routes from his guys and from Diggs and Cole Beasley.
59:02So that's one of those where it's like, yeah, but they were winning.
59:06So I kind of like, don't, it worked for them.
59:08You know, it's not what I would install. But with the Giants, even though it was just, again, we're on a pod
59:14with a Giants fan, so he knows. But it's, you know, with the, like, lack of detail just with the team, like, the kicker situation would show up.
59:22You're going to wind up if it's up right now.
59:25Right? Right? Because it's embarrassing. It's embarrassing. You've never seen an NFL team do that, and he did it like three times.
59:31The Giants have to be the only team to have lost a game because they didn't have a kicker on the roster twice.
59:37And they did it thrice. Like, they literally had their back, like, their kicker was hurt on Wednesday.
59:42And then on Sunday, they didn't have a backup kicker.
59:44They were like, sorry, international pathway, he's Irish. And they're like, well, then get a fucking American who can show up to work.
59:51Somebody. Three weeks ago. Got him. All right. There was a Saints game they lost because they rostered four receivers.
59:56And then one got hurt. And then they had to run four receiver packet.
60:00They didn't have any, they didn't have four receivers.
60:02So they're, like, trying to come down from 14 to seven minutes left.
60:06And they didn't have any receivers. And I'm like, who could have foreseen?
60:09That's not the point. The point is. Is that D'Abal's fault?
60:12Is that land on D'Abal in your experience? I mean, you're going to work.
60:16Him and Shane. You're going to work. Yeah. Him and the G.
60:20Whoever has control of the final 53, it's on them.
60:22The part of this that I don't think I connected, Nate, until right now, is you're right that I never thought of D'Abal this way.
60:29D'Abal actually does remind me sometimes of playing Madden when you call a play you don't really understand.
60:34And then you just kind of scramble when it doesn't look like what you thought it would look.
60:39And you're like, fuck it. I'm going to run because that's why I play with Lamar Jackson or Michael Vick.
60:44And I'm realizing D'Abal's had that for 10 years because all those guys I was talking about was Jalen Hurts at Bama,
60:50Josh Allen at Buffalo, Daniel Jones at the Giants and Jackson Dart New York.
60:54And I never thought about, yeah, the concept didn't work, but that's why he's on the move.
60:59Right. And like the quarterback has been bailing him out for like a decade and Cam Ward's not fast.
61:04And I never thought about that, but you're right.
61:06He probably is fucked without. So actually, you're right.
61:09I actually probably out of the Titans though. It's a really good, especially if he falls into stereotypes.
61:14Like that's even worse. Like, you know, he's like, yeah, I got this guy.
61:17He can run. It's like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
61:21That's like more like Warren moon than Mike Vick here.
61:24I know the three fastest white quarterbacks and since Steve Young.
61:27And that's when I look at it and I'm like, he has not ever shown to me that he can coach his way out of this.
61:34Like, that's why I give more to Mike McDaniel than maybe other coaches as goofy as he is.
61:39He's had old line injuries. He's a quarterback. He had fricking Quinn Ewers last year and he's still putting up points in like creating offense.
61:46Like he's like trying to new stuff. It might not work, but let's try it.
61:50Dable's like, yeah, like you say, I call a play and mad and it's not working.
61:54Well, he calls a play, but he's running for 10 years and he's like, why isn't that working this time?
61:59And it's like, cause you don't have the dude to do it or you don't have the dudes to do it.
62:05You don't have number 17 from Buffalo making everything look really, really good and helping it all out.
62:10So yeah. Yeah. Red flags, red flags. To funnel this back to fantasy briefly.
62:14Do you think there's anyone on the Tennessee team at cost?
62:17Let's probably say, you know, Tony Pollard, Wandale Robinson and Carnell Tate.
62:20Is there anybody that you think has a chance to make any meaningful difference?
62:24Are you like, I'm good on it on every Titan.
62:27I'm good on every Titan because even, even Ward becomes something.
62:30He's not a runner. So you don't even get those cheapy stats.
62:33Yeah. You know, everything's going to be him being a gunslinger, which again, I am bullish on him figuring it out because
62:39he had such good moments last year, but fantasy wise, he's not like, gotta get it.
62:43Like, like dart, I always can scramble like an idiot and get you some touchdowns and yards and everything.
62:48Like Ward is going to be trying to dice you up.
62:51And if the situation isn't great, then that leads to a little bit lower lows because they don't have that scrambling ability.
62:57Where did you land on Tate in the draft?
63:00I can't remember off the top of my head.
63:02He ended up being receiver one, but it was like, again, another Simpson.
63:06Compared to other seasons. Yeah. Yeah. Default. Yeah. Two sweetest words in the English language, but I was also super high in Boston.
63:12It was so Tate, Tate, I had at like 13 overall, my big board in Boston, 14 or 14, 15, something like that.
63:18Do you do the Chris Sims and go back at it and just like have all the rankings.
63:23So you can now say you had Denzel Boston.
63:26He had 15 different big boards. Yeah. No, I wish I did.
63:29Just post all of them. I wish I did.
63:31Just post every iteration next year. I will give Dave credit though.
63:35He was all over Boston from the very beginning.
63:37I love Boston. And Boston is amazing in camp.
63:39Six, four punt returners. Yeah. Me and Bill Belichick.
63:42We love him. No, it's, but really I would Tate.
63:45And this is funny. You say this, like changing the rankings because I kind of had that moment with Tate.
63:50He might be, he might be 11, I think, or so.
63:53I'm not really trying to think because I go, oh yeah, you know, I like him, but he's not a top 10 player in this draft.
64:00And then I started doing my big board. I'm like, he might just be 10 by default because I got, I don't have nine guys.
64:07I like more. Like, so that kind of happened to me.
64:10Like he, in a normal draft have been player, like 22.
64:13Can I complain about something for two seconds? Yeah.
64:15I was told two things the entire draft season.
64:18I, as a Giants fan should be grateful that the Giants got a top 10 pick for Dexter Lawrence.
64:23What a great return. And then I had to listen to every draft analyst, including myself.
64:27Look, go be like, man, top 10 weakest. I can remember.
64:30Worst one you want to be. I'm like, if the Giants got the 11th pick, no one would have fucking cared.
64:36It'd been like bad. But it played out perfectly.
64:38And such a nice number. Yeah. Yeah. Look, I just.
64:41There's, there's 18 top 10 quarterbacks right now. That's the other thing is like, yeah.
64:45Like I think I've called 14 quarterbacks, top 10 quarterbacks this off season.
64:49So. I think the fantasy thing off the Titans is if you're out on the team, you're out on the players and
64:55we just move all the players down. I think are, are there any other teams that you're either like lower on where
65:01you're like, I really don't know about this. In which case we'd probably want to dock every player.
65:06Cause if the quarterback's not playing well, that's kind of the answer.
65:09Or is there anywhere you think the quarterback could be like really helped by the situation?
65:13Anything else? Any other teams you have? The quarterback.
65:16Well, you know, whole function of the offense. Yeah.
65:18I, um, I wish I had a good answer right off time.
65:21I would say the lower on is overall with the 49ers just in general, just cause it looks like a mess there.
65:27Um, even if I like stripling and everything, it's just that.
65:30I think just the whole team just smells right now.
65:33Um, like the, like just George Kittle is going to come back from an Achilles in five months.
65:38Yeah. Right. Uh, you know, I've noticed how the messaging has changed on that from I'll for sure be back week one
65:44into, uh, you know, hopefully maybe, you know, gonna be ready to go to make the trip to Melbourne.
65:49And I was like, yeah, okay. That's what I thought.
65:52Um, I'll say a level of competency that I think is getting underrated is drew pets and going to the lions.
65:57Um, I, I've kind of kept saying that like, he's not a home run higher, but he was a single that legged
66:03out to a double because I just think just the circumstances of the lions will be better than last year.
66:09Blake Miller, the offensive lineman they drafted, even though he's right side, he'll be better than Taylor Decker was on the left side.
66:15If that makes sense. Um, and I do think that they're trying to fill center Cade Mays getting hurt sucks, but they
66:21at least are trying some stuff and moving some guys that are obviously if, uh, you know, uh, wherever they want to
66:27move Taylor Atledge over, but I don't agree with that.
66:30But the backup they had in there was actually not bad.
66:33Um, but I do think Petsing at least is, if you say that he was boosted by Clayton Adams, who's with the Cowboys.
66:39Now Hank Fraley is pretty good. And that that's another good line coach.
66:42So it's like the one negative I had with Petsing.
66:45He has one guy to kind of answer that.
66:48And I just think the personnel fits what he, he kept trying to call.
66:51And I brought it up with the Cardinals kept trying to call all these digger outs for Kyler Murray who can't throw over the middle because he's short.
66:59But then he has now Jared Goff who would like, uh, cannot wait to throw a digger out.
67:04He's addicted to him. So it's like, he now has that, like a guy, a quarterback that's just more conducive to that.
67:10Just the defense isn't going to be great. So points wise up, up, up, up, up.
67:14Like, so I just think like, that's actually the lions are kind of a little bit of a, I don't want to
67:20say by low, but I think it's kind of their Petsing is a little bit underrated where it's going to be so
67:26much better than it was last year. Cause Morton sucked so bad.
67:29Do you think that Jamison Williams or Sam Laporta will be a bigger beneficiary out of the Petsing offense?
67:35I think Laporta. Um, but that's, I think Jamison Williams would still be, you know, I think he's like, Jamison feels fairly
67:41priced to me and that's just me. Um, and I think St.
67:44Brown will have his role, but I think Laporta, Laporta was also gotten banged up.
67:48So maybe some of that's going to help too, but I think Laporta will get some good usage.
67:53And this is an offense that loves to live in multi-tight ends.
67:56And Laporta has that skillset that he can line up anywhere.
67:59So I think Petsing can do some creative stuff out of empty with him.
68:03So for like, I can envision his role easier, not just going, Hey, Trey McBride's coach.
68:07That means the tight end is going to be good.
68:10There's a little bit of that, but I do think just the circumstances of all makes sense to me.
68:15Lions also playing a fourth place schedule. I think they have the easiest schedule in the NFL this year.
68:20They do. And all the indoor games, bad defense.
68:23Yeah. Doesn't golf not even play outdoors until like week 14 or something.
68:26It's great. No, it, and shoot. I mean, if you're a Gibbs owner, I mean, like you'd be thrilled.
68:31David Montgomery's gone and Isaiah Pacheco is not David Montgomery.
68:34And like, yeah. So I don't know. There's, I have no idea about how to make the NFC North and real football
68:40terms, but fantasy wise, I'm trying to buy lines because I do think it's going to, they're going to have a boom year on offense.
68:47Again. Did you, did you want to hit, uh, you've given us an hour of your time.
68:52You sweet soul. Did you want to hit, uh, Zach Robinson at all in Tampa Bay?
68:56Yeah. I, it's more of a, he didn't like he, the second half of last year, I liked what they were doing on offense a lot better.
69:03Um, it was like, it was very siloed in, in Atlanta the last couple of years where it was like, they are in this formation.
69:10They're running the ball there in this formation. They're passing the ball.
69:13Um, they're in piss. They only, they couldn't do under center because cousins had no legs and Penix has no legs either.
69:19Um, but like really has no knees left. So they were never in under center and they still had a productive run game.
69:25The stuff that I saw that they tried to build off each other, like made sense.
69:30And so I think just too, I've been looking, when I did the NFC South preview last week, I was going in and being like saints, man.
69:37Yeah. I'm going to pick the saints just like every other hipster.
69:40Saints say it since that. And then I started breaking down the box.
69:44I'm like, oh yeah, the old lines, a top five old line, you know?
69:48And like Baker fell off last year, but he's still fine.
69:51Like he's still a quarterback. You can produce. He was hurt.
69:54The line was hurt. Bucky Irving was hurt. Mike Evans.
69:56Everybody was hurt. Was hurt. Yes. Yeah. Yes. And they, um, I was just talking to, to a guy, oh man, I'm blanking on who it was.
70:04Um, but they brought up that they had the most adjusted games lost at receiver and yeah, they lose Mike Evans, but
70:10they still have, and I brought this up on my show, but they still have competency at receiver.
70:15Um, so it's in Kate Otten's fine. Like, I don't know.
70:18It's just, and we'll see how Bucky Irving is, but the run game, at least in the blocking for it will be good.
70:24So they're just the bucks. I just, I feel like Zach Robinson kind of got dinged a little bit and then kind of became an afterthought.
70:31And I agreed with some of the dinging cause I was on them about the siloing, but then as the, everyone's eyes
70:37kind of averted off the Falcons, his stuff got a lot better, which is sometimes that happens.
70:42So that's why I'm kind of by low on the bucks right now, even though they're MC South favorite, it's like no
70:47one wants to pick them, but I've kind of like, you know, circled back on being on the bucks.
70:53Do you put really? Cause of the whole line.
70:55Do you put him into the like McVay family of offenses?
70:58Like what he's trying to run. And yeah, he has his own flavor.
71:02It's very traditional off of it. A lot more zone heavy.
71:05McVay's transitioned a lot more duo or at you man, man scheme.
71:08So it's a little bit more true. It's so I'd put him in Kubiak, a Clint Kubiak more similar than him and McVay.
71:14If that makes sense. Which quarterback fits that better?
71:17I think I know. Like, I think I'd guess that you'd say.
71:20Oh, Fernando fits it the best. And then Cousins fits it best.
71:23Baker's interesting. Cause Baker's aggressive. I got mixed up.
71:26Yes, yes, yes. Yeah. But Baker's so hot, hot and cold.
71:29Like if he's feeling it, like Baker's going to rip off 20 yard gains.
71:32But we'll kind of see how it holds up.
71:35Hell yeah. What do you say? So my, my whole joke with Baker is he just loves ripping passes.
71:40He's just. That's it. He's going to. He's going to.
71:43He's fucking ripping it. It's why a book is like one of my favorite picks in fantasy this year.
71:48I did kind of want to ask you like how high you think his ceiling is.
71:52I am as the 10th wide receiver overall this year, just because I don't know how static it was last year in Tampa Bay.
71:59Buka ran 529 routes, 29 of them. He was in motion and looking at what, you know, I think there's gonna be
72:05a lot more two wide receiver sets in Tampa this year.
72:08Mike Evans is obviously gone. A book. It was super beat up after like the first month and a half of the season.
72:14I just look at like quarterback. I look at coordinator and I look at volume and I'm like, I don't really see
72:20where a book of misses in that category. Right.
72:22And he's a guy and why I liked him as a prospect was no matter what the offensive system was going to
72:28be or circumstances, he'll be productive and efficient. So like that carries over now to the circumstances.
72:33But yeah, I'm, I think I'm right now I'm looking just like a, like fancy pros or whatever there.
72:38They have them at 18th consensus. I'm a little higher on that.
72:41Like I would take them over, I'll take them over as a flower.
72:45So I get crazy as that says, saying that they have McMill team act a little too low for me, but there's
72:51a couple other guys above him that him and lad.
72:54I would, I'd rather have a Mecca than lad, even if I like the chargers offense more, because I just don't know,
72:59you know, the chargers offense could be, it could be a lot of lad.
73:03It could be just Quentin Johnson cheapies, even though he got hurt today.
73:07It could be the tight ends going off. It could be just running.
73:10I like chargers. I would rather buy the hub, which is Herbert and the running game as opposed to the receivers while
73:16Mecca Buka is like, he's the one, even if Godwin's still there.
73:20Godwin is an auxiliary secondary player now. So it's like, yeah, I'm if a book is healthy, I'm a lot higher.
73:25He's going to out kick 19th pretty easily. I think I totally agree.
73:29We'll see about his toe injury. Bowles was, has been, I know just another one quiet about that.
73:34I know it's like, wait until I picked them to win a division.
73:37We're getting, yeah, actually this guy's hurt. This guy's hurt.
73:40This guy's hurt. Jordan Tyson. Breece Hall is at two to three weeks now.
73:44And we're just like, I just, everybody. I've never, I've never enjoyed Breece Hall.
73:48Like, no, no. Like I do enjoy him, but like, I never got to enjoy owning him in dynasty.
73:53Sure. Like, he's just like, it's just like, and everyone asked me to trade him.
73:57And I'm like, no, no, no, no, no. He's going to be fine this year.
74:01And we're good. We're going to reap this, the benefits of all this.
74:04Even get Braylon Allen on my roster and he just gets nuked.
74:08Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson are the same where I'm like, if they were on 28 other teams, maybe talking about them as completely different careers.
74:15Breece Hall was like the second pick in drafts one year.
74:18Remember that? He's like so talented. Such a mistake.
74:20You should never be able to take a jet with a top three pick.
74:24That was insane. And I'm like, it's, what about second round of dynasty league?
74:28Is that great? Wherever I took him, whenever we took the original draft, I was like, I got my guy.
74:33Because I, in his draft, it was him and Kenneth Walker.
74:36And I, I put him over Walker. I remember I was feeling good about it.
74:40And then now it's like, yeah, I still do.
74:43But it's just like, you know, I want Hall to be on the field actually.
74:47And the whole line for the Jets actually isn't bad either.
74:50Like, it's actually. It's good. Yeah. You left Frank Reich off your off exciting offensive quarter's list.
74:54I was shocked. I did. Curious. Yeah. I don't know.
74:57I did. I did. I somehow managed to miss him.
75:00I'm sorry. Yeah. An oversight. Nate. I don't know.
75:02Mason Taylor I'm buying though. Nate, thank you so much for coming on.
75:06You're very generous with your time. Check out football.
75:08What do you want to plug? Football 301 over at Yahoo?
75:11Yeah, football 301. Not my written word. I'm a hack.
75:14So just, yeah. Football 301. Spoken word only. Yeah.
75:16Yeah. That's it. No, no. Yeah. Spoken word. Some videos as well.
75:20No. Yeah. Check it out. Yahoo Sports. Awesome. Nate.
75:22Thank you so much. Thanks, man. Thanks, guys. Before the football season begins, every team is undefeated.
75:27Every fan believes this could be the year. The year their team wins the division, makes the playoffs, lifts the trophy.
75:32And with FanDuel, you can bet on any of it.
75:35From who will win it all and division winners to season win totals and playoff futures, FanDuel has all the ways to
75:41bet on the season before it even begins. Easiest bet.
75:44The Broncos are 20 to 1 to win the Super Bowl.
75:47I don't really understand that because the Broncos made the AFC Championship game last year should have won, but Bo Nix got
75:53injured and then kept the entire team. And now they're 20 to 1.
75:56That doesn't really make any sense to me because the Broncos probably are going to have the second best defense in the AFC.
76:03I just how do the Broncos have the same Super Bowl odds as the Packers?
76:07That doesn't make any sense. Like the Packers would be really weird if they made the Super Bowl or at least surprising.
76:13The Broncos, it would be super normal. So the Broncos are 20 to 1.
76:16It just feels mispriced. So get your football future bets in today on FanDuel.

76:56So hit the link in the description of the episode and you can come see us and say hello.
77:01Of course, DK calls it an URL. A URL.
77:04Check out that. Click on it. Yes. Thank you, Lord.
77:06Lord. DK. All right. We're going to continue on with Millennial Bangers today.
77:10We are going to go to a seminal hit from 2010.
77:13Hmm. Down on Me by Jeremiah featuring 50 Cent.
77:15Great song. The ultimate, the prototype song in my mind at least of a strip club song.
77:20Oh, okay. The song you walk into the strip club and it's playing on repeat all the time.
77:25And have you experienced that in real life? Well, that's just what I'm picturing.
77:29That's the way I'd imagine. I've never been in one of those establishments before.
77:32Is that right? No, I have. Okay. In my younger years.
77:35You're like, of course I have. In my younger years when I was, you know, sowing my oats or whatever they say.
77:41Great song. Can you guys picture this song? Do you know what I'm talking about?
77:46No, I had to pull it up right now.
77:48Yeah. That's good. Clearly, I'm not going to no strip clubs.
77:51You ain't going to no strip clubs? Okay. Was this one of your, like, actual favorite songs in 2010?
77:56I like the way he cried with that booty on me.
77:59Oh, yeah. I feel like this, to me, actually is like a classic dance floor song.
78:03And everybody's just, like, fucking grinding on each other, you know?
78:06Yeah. This is a chorus song. This is a song, like, when you hear, like, the verses, I'm like, I don't know what song this is.
78:13And then when the chorus hits, I'm like, oh, my God, of course.
78:17I went to, so we did our annual fantasy, like, my home league fantasy draft this weekend.
78:22And our tradition is to go to this dance club in Bellingham after the draft every year.
78:26It's called The Royal. Shout out The Royal. And this song came on.
78:30I was like, yeah, this is my millennial banger for this week.
78:33Got to do it. And it was just classic.
78:35There's, like, a fucking smoke machine going. And, like, lasers.
78:38I don't know. I just picture. Yeah. The Royal.
78:41I'm looking it up. I have no relationship with this song.
78:44I agree with Craig. The verse is no idea.
78:46Chorus, vaguely remember. But I am on The Royal Nightclub on Google Maps.
78:50Two and a half stars, DK. 2.6 stars for The Royal.
78:53Out of two? Yeah. 48 reviews. I mean, it is.
78:55It's for a certain segment of people that maybe want that type of thing.
78:59It's not a good. It's not like a family place.
79:02What's the overlap of writing reviews on Google and going to nightclubs?
79:05I feel like the people who are going to enjoy The Royal aren't on Yelp at all.
79:10Also, I feel like if you like a nightclub, the last thing I want to do is tell other people about it.
79:16Literally, yeah. It's kind of insane to give a nightclub a five-star review.
79:19That's, like, kind of psychotic. It's always the toughest part about, like, we just did a movie called About Last Night on the Rewatchables, which I really liked.
79:27It's from the 80s. But there's a great bar in the movie.
79:30It's a really good movie bar. It's set in Chicago.
79:33But the bar itself is actually in L.A. It's a bar called Moms that's no longer around in L.A.
79:38than I used to go to. But the toughest part about movie bars is they're always perfectly crowded, you know?
79:43Like, there's a New Year's Eve scene in this movie About Last Night, and they, like, at the last second, decide to go to the bar.
79:50And, of course, there's no line. They walk right in.
79:53It's, like, perfectly crowded. There's, like, New Year's decorations.
79:56And I'm like, there's no world in which, in a popular city, the coolest bar in town you could just walk into on New Year's Eve.
80:03It sucks. Dude, there's, like, shitty bars in D.C.
80:05that the Gen Z kids are, like, lined up for 100 people in line.
80:09And we're just like, I know we're old, but, like, there's nothing in there.
80:13I don't know why you're waiting. Yeah, dude. Dude, the night of your wedding, when we went to the final location, that
80:19street, every bar had, like, 150 people outside waiting in line.
80:22I was like, do I live? Is this in Los Angeles?
80:25This is crazy. There's more lines here. No, it does bewild.
80:28Waiting in line to get a drink, I'm just like, man, that's where I'm too old for that now.
80:33But, D.C., one of these reviews says the bathroom at the Royal has a trough, they have a trough in the men's room.
80:39It's very nostalgic for me. It's old school. It's like being at the Kingdom, you know?
80:43We didn't go to that. I don't know what that means.
80:46No. Like, old school stadiums all had fucking troughs, and you're just standing, like, really close to each other and pee.
80:52One of these one-star reviews is that they're, like, they don't like the, did they take a trough out?
80:57They're upset about the bathrooms. The trough is still there.
81:00I confirmed it this weekend. Yeah. All right. What were you going to ask, Craig?
81:04I was going to ask, but then I guess we don't want to say this.
81:08I was going to ask what your, like, kind of sneaky favorite bar is in the city you currently live in, but
81:14maybe we don't want to put it on, maybe you don't want to promote it.
81:18Should we give Decoy bars? No, I'll promote it.
81:21The Muni in D.C. Go to the Muni if you live in D.C.
81:24Yeah, yeah, yeah. Is that, what was that one of your wedding names?
81:28It's a sports bar. We ended up there at the end of the night.
81:31Go to the Muni in D.C. Oh, yeah. It's a good bar.
81:35We'll have, like, 100 people in line. I'm like, that bar sucks.
81:38I'm not going to name the bad bars. You know what?
81:41I was a little surprised about Heifetz when I went to D.C., and I don't know why I thought this, but for
81:47some reason, I just pictured it being, like, not as lax, but the smell of weed was just omnipresent.
81:52Is that the right word? You can get it delivered.
81:55Yeah. It's just, like, everywhere. I was like, I'm like, where are we?
81:58Seattle? This is crazy. I expected it to be.
82:01I don't know why. I just expected that. But, like, I was, like, shocked at the amount of people just smoking weed on the street.
82:08Weed being legal in D.C. and available via delivery for cash, but still being a federal crime is a pretty good summary of how D.C.
82:14Yeah. I just didn't really. It just kind of threw me for a loop.
82:18But, yeah. DK, what's your bar? In Bellingham? Mm-hmm.
82:21I got a few. I'm going to shout out The Den.
82:24I'm going to shout out Ishka. I'm going to shout out Elk Street, Red Light.
82:28Red Light. I'm sure I'm missing a couple here.
82:30I'm sorry. The Buffalo. The Wild Buffalo is the music place here, and it's sick.
82:34They do a bunch of concerts, and then they also do a lip sync battle, and that's super fun.
82:39Yeah. I'm going to shout out, too, Big Dean's, which is my favorite sports bar in L.A.
82:44It's under the Santa Monica Pier, kind of a hidden little sports bar, fantastic vibe.
82:48And then I'm also going to shout out Ye Olde Kingshead, which I think is my favorite bar in L.A.
82:54It's a British pub in Santa Monica. It's like a block from the water.
82:57This is just a British pub on Santa Monica Boulevard.
83:00It's fucking awesome. It's always the perfect level of crowded, great Guinness, and there's a Touch Tunes, which I spend just a
83:06ridiculous amount of money on every time. Is that where you can play the music?
83:10I don't know what that is. Okay. Touch Tunes.
83:13It's like an app where you can connect to the jukebox or whatever the fuck.
83:17Right. They don't call it a jukebox now, but a jukebox.
83:20A digital jukebox. You buy tokens and you get to play songs, but it's great.
83:24What is your go-to strategy with Touch Tunes? Are you playing for the crowd or are you just playing for you?
83:29I'm playing for the crowd. I hate when there's one random song that has some screamo rock song.
83:34I'm like, it's ruined the whole vibe. What are we doing?
83:37I'm playing stuff that gets people's head bobbing. You're playing down on me.
83:41I'm playing. Sure. Honestly, Millennial Bangers. Play that this weekend, Craig.
83:44The Millennial Bangers playlist would do great. Sometimes I'll throw on some Bee Gees.
83:48A little more than a woman. People are vibing.
83:50It's like you're in Boogie Nights all of a sudden.
83:53It's great. Oh, man. I guess I should have said Saturday Night Fever, which is what that song is actually from.
83:58But it does. Bee Gees is a great bar vibe under it.
84:02More than a woman. Big Dean's is also great.
84:04Big Dean's has AstroTurf down, which is such a good thing.
84:07Big Dean's commitment to a sports bar. Wait, Craig.
84:10Where was that sports bar that you took us?
84:12Sorry. Did you already ask that? That was Barney's in West Hollywood.
84:15Barney's. Barney's Beanery. That place was fun. Yeah. That's a cool spot, too.
84:19We'll be together in Los Angeles in one week for two weeks.
84:22And we have to figure out some places we're going to go.
84:25I know. Unfortunately, all those bars, I live on the west side and the bars are over there.
84:30But we will probably, the furthest west we will go is West Hollywood, probably.
84:34Not that that means anything to you. It means nothing to me.
84:37I'll show up. Tell me where to show up and I'll show up.
84:41Okay. Do you guys ever ask someone like, where are you from?
84:44And they name a city. And you're like, cool.
84:47Where in the city? And then you're like, fuck, why did I ask that?
84:50I do this with New York all the time.
84:53I'm like, you're from New York? Oh, yeah. What?
84:55We're about New York. Lower East Side. And then you just have nothing to say.
84:59I don't actually know what that means at all.
85:02They're like 18th and 3rd. You're like, ah, I don't know.
85:05Yeah, that's. I don't even. I barely know where Manhattan is.
85:08I always have to like, you have to like, like ask somebody like, how well do you really know?
85:13When people are like, where are you from? I'll just say the Bay.
85:16And they're like, okay, but where in the Bay?
85:19I'll say the East Bay. And they're like, but where in the East Bay?
85:23You're dialing down. Enhance. Yeah. Enhance. Can I throw San Ramon at you?
85:26Like, will that actually hit? Like, how deep are we going here?
85:29You ever heard of fucking California high? Because that's where I went.
