Alvin Kamara

PositiveRole39:03

Alvin Kamara's return to the Saints is expected to significantly impact the backfield role distribution, likely absorbing the check-down passing work that Travis Etienne handled in Week 1, creating uncertainty about Etienne's remaining role in the offense.

Insight page
PositiveRole41:36

Kamara's return to the Saints will likely limit A-Chan's role; the source worries about Kamara taking third-down and check-down work with Kellen Moore's high-pace offense using a hot-hand approach with rotating backs. Last year Kamara had 45.7% route share, 10.1% target share, 0.93 yards per route run, and 0.2 targets per route run, suggesting limited receiving value even when active.

Insight page

Blake Corum

NegativeValue69:30

The source rejected a dynasty trade offer of Blake Corum and a 2027 second-round pick for Javonte Williams, citing that the team is not elite-performing and lacks a 2027 first-round pick, making the second-round asset less valuable; the source also notes that Javonte Williams is unlikely to fetch a first-round pick in the current market, making the deal unattractive.

Insight page

Brian Thomas Jr.

NegativeValue37:06

Brian Thomas Jr. was mentioned as a potential one-for-one comparison player to Matthew Golden, though the source declined to make a definitive ranking or direct comparison at that time.

Insight page
NegativeValue37:22

The source defers a one-for-one comparison for Brian Thomas Jr., suggesting the valuation discussion is complex or requires further analysis before committing to a specific trade framework.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout73:36

The source was impressed with Brian Thomas Jr.'s on-field performance despite limited route participation. He posted elite efficiency metrics: 92nd percentile yards per route run (3.33), 78th percentile targets per route run (0.25), 88th percentile catch rate with zero drops, and 16.7% win rate. On 11 personnel, he was on field 89% of the time and generated 4 yards per route run from out wide, showing explosive sideline ability. However, snap count concerns and worrisome target share (13% on 12 routes) limit total upside with Myers in two-wide receiver sets.

Insight page

Christian Watson

NegativeProjection6:00

Christian Watson's week one explosion was driven by a single long touchdown; he is perennially in the Jameson Williams conversation—a splash-play receiver who is two plays away from being in a different tier entirely. Watson is a lethal deep threat who can take the top off defenses and will dominate in scoring formats with excess points for 40+ yard receptions, but he is not a 140-150+ target-type receiver. His value is highly dependent on big plays rather than consistent volume.

Insight page
NegativeRole8:00

Christian Watson's role in the Packers offense is uncertain given Josh Jacobs' potential return and the team's tendency to run heavy first and second down schemes. Even if Jacobs returns, the efficiency of the run game is questionable given offensive line cohesion issues observed in week one. Matt LaFleur's scheme prioritizes running Josh Jacobs into the A-gap on first and second down regardless of game situation, which may limit Watson's target volume.

Insight page

Chuba Hubbard

NegativeRole65:00

The source expresses concern about Chuba Hubbard's long-term role, noting that he is not an efficient or elusive player and has a history of losing his job mid-season. The source believes Brooks Robinson is being eased back into the offense and expects Chuba to lose significant point-scoring value by week eight, similar to what happened with Dowdle. While the source acknowledges short-term value loss, they suggest the trade value may recover in a month.

Insight page
NegativeValue66:59

The source notes that trading away Chuba Hubbard at current market value represents an overpay now that will look like an underpay in a month; the player is being used as a premium asset to acquire a first-round pick in dynasty, but the source expects his value to stabilize or recover, making the current ask price inflated.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

NegativeValue46:02

Colston Loveland was mentioned in a multi-piece trade involving Zay Jones and Ken Walker for HN Strange, Parker, Marv, and a 2028 first-round pick; the source found this particular deal structure notable in their fantasy points front office analysis.

Insight page
PositiveProjection69:02

The source argues that by season's end, Colston Loveland will not be easily replaceable with a waiver-wire option like Dalton Schultz, implying that Loveland's elite tight end production trajectory justifies holding him over trading for a running back in dynasty.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

NegativeRole35:04

DeAndre Swift received an extension, which the source interprets as a signal that a trading manager is not fully committed to competing this season and is willing to pivot away from Swift.

Insight page

Dalton Schultz

NegativeUsage33:45

Dalton Schultz was 12th in fantasy points per game and 15th in total fantasy points with a separation score and win rate in the top 12 at the position; he averaged 6.1 targets per game with higher targets inside the 20, though his yards per route run was slightly lower.

Insight page

Drake London

PositiveProjection2:00

Drake London faces dire straits with Michael Penix Jr. waiting in the wings; Tua Tagovailoa hasn't yet gotten his regular season opportunity, but when he does, London's target competition will intensify significantly. Panic meter sits at 7-8 since preseason, driven by Pitts receiving three of the first four targets in that game. London's separation score ranks 18th among wide receivers and yards after catch ranks 23rd (4.5 YAC), but he's competing against B.J. Hill, a one-of-one alpha receiver in the target department. At best, London projects to wide receiver two production until Penix arrives.

Insight page
NegativeValue6:00

Drake London's trade market is deteriorating. Recent trades show him being packaged with J.K. Dobbins and Trey McBride for Garrett Wilson, Christian Watson, and Puka Nakua—a deal favoring the Wilson-Watson-Puka side significantly. In another deal, London plus a 2027 second for D.J. Moore slightly favors the London side, but the source is hesitant. Most tellingly, Christian Watson and a 2027 first for Drake London is not an exciting accept button, though it becomes more enticing if London's situation improves by week four or six.

Insight page
NegativeRole69:49

Drake London is listed as part of a dynasty team's receiving corps that the source describes as underperforming despite having some recognizable names; the team also includes Luther Burden and Terry McLaurin but lacks depth and is hampered by Justin Herbert at quarterback.

Insight page

Emari Demercado

NegativeRole58:08

The source dismisses concerns about Imari Demercado as competition for Javonte Williams, characterizing those raising the concern as 'gaslighting' and watching 'way too many special teams highlights,' implying Demercado has minimal offensive role and is not a threat to Williams' workload.

Insight page

Harold Fannin

NegativeProjection68:15

Despite being drafted in the fourth round in an explosive offense, Harold Fanning put up a zero in a recent game; the source acknowledges this poor performance but still prefers running back value over tight end value in dynasty, noting that replaceable tight ends like Dalton Schultz can fill the gap, whereas elite running back production is harder to replicate.

Insight page

Isaiah Likely

PositiveProjection24:00

Isaiah Likely's week one performance (eight targets, four targets inside the 20, one touchdown) signals sustained elite usage in the Ravens offense. The source previously dismissed Likely due to coaching memes and Greg Roman hate, but now recognizes that Roman has consistently elevated tight ends since 2019 and that John Harbaugh's system (which helped Travis Kelce remain relevant) is a major asset. Likely's usage is unlikely to disappear, and the source does not believe Malachi Fields will significantly cut into his role.

Insight page
PositiveUsage28:25

Eight targets in week one with four inside the 20-yard line; 3.39 yards per route run (96th percentile, number two in week one); top-six separation score in the NFL; expected projection was 24 points, overperformed by only 3-3.5 points, meaning usage aligns with elite efficiency; source believes this usage will not regress significantly and is bullish on Likely in tight end premium formats despite the Giants' offensive concerns.

Insight page
PositiveProjection31:13

Source admits to a major offseason miss on Likely, having discouraged others from acquiring him due to skepticism about the Giants' offensive environment, injuries, and Dexter Neighbors' health. Source believed the Giants would be inept on offense and failed to recognize that Likely would be the number-two (or potentially number-one) target on the team regardless of offensive quality. Source now regrets not sticking to the principle of targeting top-two tight ends in any offense, especially in tight end premium leagues.

Insight page
NegativeUsage32:40

Isaiah Likely was 13th amongst tight ends in routes run and 21st in yards after the catch; he caught the ball but didn't create much after the catch, suggesting his production came from opportunity rather than elite playmaking ability.

Insight page
PositiveProjection34:10

Isaiah Likely can hit the production levels of Dalton Schultz (12th in fantasy points per game, 15th in fantasy points) with more upside; the source compares Likely's target increase opportunity (6.1 targets per game with higher targets inside the 20) to Schultz's performance, suggesting Likely has room to exceed Schultz's output in tight end premium formats.

Insight page

Jalen Coker

NegativeProjection20:00

Jalen Coker's value is heavily dependent on Bryce Young's play. In week one, Young played with swagger similar to his end-of-2024 form, and if he continues that level of play, Coker and D'Onta Foreman McMillan could both ascend significantly. However, the source lacks a strong lean on Coker yet because Ted McMillan's usage in comparison is weak, and the source needs more time to process the situation. Coker has moved up in rankings but without a definitive strong conviction.

Insight page

Javonte Williams

PositiveValue44:24

The source identifies Javonte Williams as a target-up destination in two-for-one trades when moving away from A-Chan, suggesting Williams offers superior production and role security compared to A-Chan's uncertain role with Kamara's return.

Insight page
PositiveRole57:05

Javonte Williams is a bell-cow running back with zero competition; he was used in all scenarios across personnel groupings—16% on third down, 39% on second down, 17% on first down—deployed in outside zones, inside zones, and duo formations; he is the primary carry back with 100% of the touches inside the 10-yard line, giving him high ceiling touchdown upside.

Insight page
PositiveProjection57:05

Over his last eight games, Javonte Williams averaged 13.9 points per game, including 17 points against Kansas City and 15 points against Minnesota; the source projects 16–18 points per game going forward with 24+ point upside on a high-scoring offense, and expects his value to rise significantly by week six or seven if this production continues.

Insight page
PositiveValue60:33

The source recommends buying Javonte Williams in dynasty trades, especially if opponents don't believe in his production sustainability; if he maintains 16–18 PPG by week six or seven, his trade value will rise significantly compared to current market prices, making him a strong acquisition target now before the value spike.

Insight page
PositiveValue61:58

The source argues Javonte Williams is a buy in dynasty trades, framing him as a guaranteed 16–18 points per game with 24+ point upside on a good offense. In a trade scenario offering a 2027 first-round pick, the source prefers holding Javonte because he represents a tier-up opportunity: you can potentially package him to move from a 27.1 to a 27.2 and 28.1, or higher, depending on league dynamics. The source emphasizes that Javonte is a guarantee in week one, whereas first-round picks carry no guarantees, making him a safer asset to hold for flexibility and potential mid-season trade leverage.

Insight page
NegativeValue69:30

Javonte Williams was offered in a trade package (Blake Corum and a 2027 second-round pick) that the source rejected; the source notes that Javonte is unlikely to command a first-round pick in the current dynasty market, and the team receiving the offer lacks a 2027 first-round pick, making the deal structure unfavorable.

Insight page
PositiveValue72:39

The source views Javonte Williams as a tier upgrade from Quorum-level handcuff options in dynasty. While Quorum is described as a premier handcuff with limited standalone value, the source would prioritize acquiring Javonte Williams over Quorum on contending teams, suggesting Williams offers more upside and role security than typical backup running back pricing reflects.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

NegativeValue34:54

Jalen Warren was part of a trade discussion where the source preferred the Matthew Golden side over Warren and DeAndre Swift, suggesting Warren is not the preferred asset in this particular deal structure.

Insight page

Justin Herbert

NegativeProjection70:36

The source notes that having Justin Herbert on a dynasty roster immediately signals that the team will underperform in projections, indicating that Herbert's current production or situation is a drag on overall team performance.

Insight page

Kendre Miller

NegativeRole40:31

The source suggests Kendra Miller's role in the Saints backfield may be phased out upon Alvin Kamara's return, though the exact depth chart and role distribution remains unclear.

Insight page
PositiveRole43:03

Kendra Miller looked bigger, faster, stronger, and harder to take down compared to A-Chan in the Saints backfield; the source notes Miller appeared more explosive and physical, suggesting potential for increased role share as the Saints phase out A-Chan.

Insight page

Luther Burden

NegativeRole69:49

Luther Burden is listed as part of a dynasty team's receiving corps that the source describes as underperforming despite having some recognizable names; the team also includes Drake London and Terry McLaurin but lacks depth and is hampered by Justin Herbert at quarterback.

Insight page

Malachi Fields

NegativeRole29:15

Source notes that Malachi Fields appears to be the Giants' wide receiver in the new offensive scheme, mentioned in context of Isaiah Likely's role as the primary tight end target.

Insight page

Matthew Golden

PositiveBreakout10:00

Matthew Golden is entering Quentin Johnston territory—a rookie initially labeled a bust who is now showing sophomore-year development. Golden's week one performance was elite: 12 targets (third among 73 qualified wide receivers), six most routes run, first among all wide receivers in targets inside the 20, 28% target share on 87% route participation, 18th in yards per route run, eighth in targets per route run, 15th in yards after catch, and 18th in explosive reception rate. He was deployed as the primary receiver in heavy personnel and 13-personnel packages. The source is more inclined to trade Golden and a first for Drake London than Christian Watson and a first, and is moving Golden ahead of Rashid Rice in dynasty rankings.

Insight page
PositiveRole11:00

Matthew Golden is deployed as the lead receiver in 13-personnel and heavy personnel packages, running the primary receiver role. He is hyper-targeted inside the 20-yard line and is positioned as the LaFleur number one if he continues to operate in this role. His deployment suggests he is the top receiving option in the Packers' red-zone and goal-line packages.

Insight page
PositiveValue12:00

Matthew Golden's dynasty value is rising rapidly. The source is moving Golden ahead of Rashid Rice in dynasty rankings, partly because of the 'idiot tax' on Rice. Golden and a 2027 first is a more attractive trade target than Christian Watson and a first. Recent trades show Golden at 27 second and 27 third plus a player for Malik Willis—a deal the source would do every time. If Golden maintains his week one route participation and target share, his value will climb significantly even on modest stat lines (5 for 75, 6 for 84), because the market will price in his elite deployment.

Insight page
PositiveValue34:54

In a trade involving Matthew Golden, Jalen Warren, and DeAndre Swift, the source prefers the Matthew Golden side; the source notes this is a pivot deal for someone looking to move points off the roster after Debo scored heavily, and views the structure favorably.

Insight page
NegativeValue37:11

The source lacks a clear ranking or one-for-one comparison for Matthew Golden at this stage, indicating uncertainty about his dynasty valuation relative to peers.

Insight page

Parker Washington

NegativeUsage75:52

Parker Washington ran limited routes in the Jaguars passing offense, running essentially one route in the entire second half. This reflects the team's reduced passing volume once they established offensive rhythm, rather than a specific role or target share concern.

Insight page

Terry McLaurin

NegativeRole69:49

Terry McLaurin is listed as part of a dynasty team's receiving corps that the source describes as underperforming despite having some recognizable names; the team also includes Drake London and Luther Burden but lacks depth and is hampered by Justin Herbert at quarterback.

Insight page

Travis Etienne

PositiveBust39:03

Travis Etienne delivered a disappointing Week 1 result in New Orleans with only nine carries, 15.7 expected fantasy points, and no touches inside the 10 or 5-yard line despite a 58% snap share. While he showed efficiency metrics (5.11 yards per carry, 0.22 missed tackles forced per attempt, 3.33 yards before contact), his passing role was limited at 16.1% target share and 36.5% route participation, yielding only nine targets for seven receptions and 32 yards. The source views this as potentially significant disappointment, especially with Alvin Kamara returning, which threatens to eliminate Etienne's check-down passing role and leave his role in New Orleans unclear.

Insight page
NegativeRole45:07

The source questions whether Travis Etienne's two-minute drill role will persist with Alvin Kamara's return; if that role disappears, the source would be more inclined to sell Etienne, suggesting Kamara's presence threatens Etienne's specialized role opportunities.

Insight page

Travis Kelce

PositiveRole28:25

Source references Travis Kelce as an example of a tight end who has remained relevant and productive despite coaching changes, noting that Greg Roman (Kelce's coach) has consistently produced elite tight ends in the NFL since 2019.

Insight page

Zay Jones

NegativeValue46:02

Zay Jones was included in a multi-piece trade involving Colston Loveland and Ken Walker for HN Strange, Parker, Marv, and a 2028 first-round pick; the source noted this trade structure in their fantasy points front office analysis.

0:27Altra versteht das einfach. Altra, stay out there. Week 1 of the NFL season has come and gone and that means there
0:36are some performances that we need to talk about for Dynasty Fantasy Football.
0:42There are some buys, there are some sells. Myself, Thomas Tipple, and Zach Swills, we're going to guide you through it.
0:51This is Dynasty Points. If you like videos like this, be sure to hit the like and subscribe button.
0:59You guys showed up and showed out in last week's episode.
1:03We're happy to be back. This is Dynasty Points.
1:07It's the Market Report and it starts right now.
1:11Hello everybody, welcome back to Dynasty Points. It's the Market Report.
1:16If you're new here, welcome in. If you're returning, welcome back to our small corner of the Dynasty Fantasy Football landscape.
1:25Last week, we had our first market report of the new season.
1:30We are very happy with some of the results.
1:34The DeAndre Swift contract game came to fruition. We had some very interesting Week 1 performances.
1:41But that also means that there's some opportunity to buy and potentially sell.
1:46But we don't really believe in the buy low or sell high.
1:51But that doesn't mean we shouldn't have these conversations.
1:55Take a look at Week 1. Do we think some of this stuff is going to hold up?
2:03Lots of that to get through. So, Mr. Swills, I want to start with the one player that I have been pounding
2:12the table for maybe more than even somebody like Zay Flowers, who we're going to talk about later.
2:20He is a second round pick at times. He has been a 2-3 turn type player.
2:27He has been a 2-3 turn type player. He has been a 3-4 turn type player.
2:34And he has a 3-4 turn type player for another one player.
2:39And that's a 2-3 turn type player player. It sounds like Tua is going to play before panics.
2:47And this has led to some conversations in our Discord, which you can get in the link, and across the Dynasty landscape
2:56about the panic meter on Drake London. Now, I call them Little Points London for many reasons.
3:03Buck does as well. Well, sometimes you see the five or six points beside Drake London's name, and you forget that 30 points is possible.
3:14The offense looks terrible. What's your panic meter at?
3:18Are you willing to buy at his current prices?
3:22How do you feel about Drake London, knowing eventually we should get to see panics play football this year?
3:30And he was pretty good with him. Yeah, at this point, Drake London basically is in dire straits for Michael Penix.
3:39And I feel like it's going to take a little bit for us to get there because Tua hasn't even technically gotten his regular season opportunity yet.
3:51And most of the time, you don't see players lose their job opportunity because of injury.
3:57So I feel like we still have to kind of play that card and see where that goes.
4:05To be honest with you, man, my panic meter has been between a seven and eight ever since the first preseason game watching Tua versus the Broncos.
4:17And just seeing that dump off pass and basically seeing Pitts get three of the first four targets.
4:24And I immediately was like, hold on. We haven't really realized the target competition for London and the type of receiver he
4:34is in comparison to the inept quarterback play that he has.
4:39And not to mention that B. John is a one of one type of player who, in my opinion, will continue to
4:48alpha Drake London in the target department. Yeah, it's getting increasingly difficult to find the hope in Drake London and he doesn't deserve it.
4:58He didn't do anything to deserve this awful run out that he's.
5:03He's been given. He's he's still performing as an individual, right?
5:08He has a separation score that was 18th best, you know, amongst wide receivers.
5:14He has yards after reception. Yards after the catch was 23rd.
5:19He had four and a half yards after the catch.
5:23So, like, he's trying to do what he can.
5:27He's noodle arm Cooper rush. I mean, I guess I've never been so excited to get a quarterback.
5:35I've never seen play before in Jack Strand behind center.
5:39Yeah. Yeah. And it doesn't look like we're going to get that.
5:44I don't think they're going to give that to us at all.
5:49I mean, at best, you're you're probably looking at wide receiver to production.
5:55Maybe you get Michael Penix back in the lineup and we see that that London spam that was so awesome at the end of last year.
6:06It's just really tough to see a pathway for him, especially when you get into the prices.
6:13I'm going to pull up London right now. And we're just going to look at some of the trades that he's been
6:23involved in just to get some of these prices.
6:27We're recording this on September 18th. So some of these were from today.
6:32You're looking at J.K. Dobbins, Drake London, Trey McBride for Garrett Wilson, Christian Watson and Puka Nakua, which I think is an interesting trade structure.
6:43But I'm way more inclined to go with the Wilson Watson Puka side.
6:48Same. Even in a tight end premium. I think I like that side a little bit more.
6:56You've got the Drake London in a 27 second for DJ Moore.
7:01My guy, Jawan Johnson, Christian Watson and Fat Caleb Johnson.
7:05I probably lean more on the Drake London in the two side here.
7:11Yeah, ever so slightly. What about what if what if you could get Christian Watson and a first by giving up Drake London?
7:21I don't know if I'm looking at that trade in my inbox, if I'm excited to click the accept button.
7:29But I think if we're still looking at this scenario in like week four, if things are looking better for week six, then I'm way more inclined.
7:41For now, I'm probably not. It just it. It makes you think when you can look at somebody and get the explosive
7:50play concept in Watson and then potentially the pick to re-roll in 2027.
7:56It's enticing. It is. Oh, man. It's very because you're probably I mean, what's the worst case?
8:03I mean, Christian Watson can go for 25 plus 24.
8:07Here's here's where I'm right. But here let's let's remember why.
8:12Yeah. Right. One extremely long touchdown. We can pivot this over to Matthew Golden because Christian Watson is part of that conversation as well.
8:22But Christian Watson had the big play really jacked his points up.
8:27But Matthew Golden was really the guy in that offense.
8:32Yeah, just go ahead. If if if Josh Jacobs is back, I don't know if I trust the Packers to have such a pass rate over expectation.
8:43I don't know what this offensive line if it's going to matter, to be honest.
8:50You know, again, talking about O-line, D-line stuff that we're doing on the back end, it's not available available in the data suite yet.
9:00But it's just, you know, us charters are getting a lot more understanding of just O-line, D-line play in general.
9:08And there's some of these. We'll talk about it later on when we talk about the Dolphins as well.
9:17But there's some of these these lines that just looked absolutely lost in week one.
9:23Like you can tell that there's no cohesiveness in here.
9:27So even that's the one area where I get a little bit encouragement on kind of the Jordan Love, Christian Watson, Matthew
9:37Golden triangle that even if Jacobs comes back, how efficient is that run game even going to be?
9:44Yeah, I don't know how much that's mattered to Matt LaFleur.
9:49He'll just he just runs Josh Jacobs into the A-gap first and second down over.
9:56He was still trying to do it. I remember texting Jacob over the weekend that is like, there's no way he's going
10:05to run second and 10 with Marshawn Lloyd. And then first time he could do it, he did it.
10:13He did it more than once and it didn't go anywhere.
10:18It's like you can't take that out of LaFleur.
10:22Sure. I just I think it's going to be very interesting to see what happens.
10:28So I'm not willing to go all the way in on a Christian Watson and a one.
10:35But that does lead me to Matthew Golden. Right.
10:39They had a negative EPA per play. They were negative in the drop back.
10:45They did not have a very good day in terms of consistency.
10:50They explosive play. Awesome. Thank you, Christian Watson. Right.
10:54Like that's that's really. That's really how that happened.
10:58I want to talk about Matthew Golden, though, because he's not here today.
11:04But Buck was first on the Matthew Golden could break out thing.
11:09I'm hesitant even still. Six most six most routes run in week one with 40.
11:15Third most targets in 12. 12. I believe he only had two receptions in the first half, but blew up in the second.
11:25First amongst all wide receivers in targets inside the 20.
11:29That's crazy to me. You said he had three.
11:33So he's hyper targeted. Yeah. So hyper targeted inside the 20.
11:38The big area. That's what we want. Nineteenth in yards per route run, which is surprising to me because it looked like he was downfield all day.
11:50Eighth in targets per route run, which is obviously really good.
11:54Fifteenth in yak. Eighteenth in explosive reception rate. Like every time he touched the ball, he was popping off a 28 percent
12:04target share on 87 percent of the routes like that is upper tier.
12:09He was wide receiver one. He was out there in heavy personnel running the primary receiver role.
12:17Yeah, which is really what we were kind of looking for.
12:21So I'm willing to buy on. I think I'm more willing to buy a Matthew Golden than Christian Watson.
12:29And it is because I kind of know what Christian Watson is.
12:35Right. Right. Where I think Golden given. Look, it's a two game sample across his entire rookie year.
12:42They went into the playoffs. He did what he did.
12:47He balled out. Week one rolls around and he balls out.
12:51Christian Watson is a very good splash play wide receiver.
12:56I just feel like you can get a lot of those kinds of guys.
13:02I'm willing. I'm doing my dynasty rankings right now.
13:05I am in the middle of moving Golden up ahead of the guys like Rishi Rice.
13:12In that range of player. Partly because you have to pay like the idiot tax.
13:19There's the idiot tax on Rishi Rice. Right. He's just not a player I want in my dynasty roster.
13:27Through an offseason. Yeah. Can't do it. Yeah. So you got to get taxed on that.
13:34But. Week two might come around and let me know that I'm a big dummy.
13:40But in terms of that deal, I'm probably more inclined to do Golden in a one than a Watson in a one.
13:50Ooh. I feel like that's a pretty hot take.
13:53Considering what just happened in Watson's blow up. I don't think it is.
13:59But Watson wasn't. His blow up was on a singular ball.
14:04I know. I'm just talking to the box score.
14:08We're one. We're one long touchdown away from him being in that.
14:13Like. He's perennially in the Jameson Williams conversation. Yep.
14:17Where it's like, well, Jameson Williams ran what? 90% of the routes on Thursday night football.
14:23He's two. He's two plays away from being in a different conversation.
14:29Great. Great players aren't two plays away from being in a different conversation.
14:34Right. So he's just in that tier of acquirable.
14:38Christian Watson is where the market adjusts so fast.
14:42Now to players like golden golden has the playoff game.
14:46Golden has week one. If golden comes out again, uh, runs this crazy, uh, um, has this crazy route participation, this crazy target share.
14:56I mean, 12 targets is crazy. If he comes out there and has eight targets, five receptions for 78 or 80, it's
15:06still going to be looked at as if he had, you know, nine for one 10 because the season totally, like his
15:15value is just going to climb now. So long as he doesn't pull an Applebee's like two for 25.
15:23Right. And he's just, is that guy now, if we're still looking at a, the lead receiver and 13 personnel, if he's
15:33still deployed in the red zone, like that's the Lafleur number one.
15:38And so if you want the Lafleur number one, if you're trading away a legitimate elite piece, if I'm looking at a
15:47player that has the possibility to end up as a two, three turn type, I'm more inclined to believe it's someone like golden.
15:57I will leave you with this though. Oh, my 10s bring me up.
16:03These shoes are too long. Do you still wear these tight things?
16:08I mean, are not all the shoes so farmed?
16:12No, you need Altras. Altras? Altra sind geformt wie deine Füße mit einer fußförmigen Zehenbox.
16:18Einfach viel bequemer. Bezwinge deinen Lauf mit Hallenzehen. Okay, das klingt traumhaft.
16:23Mehr Komfort, Kraft und Dynamik. Alles durch die Passform.
16:27Altra versteht das einfach. Altra, stay out there. It's way too early to be doing trades like Drake London for Matthew Golden and a one.
16:38Yes, it is. I think if you pulled the average dynasty player, they would tell you that is too far to fall.
16:47But I'm going to look up some Matthew Golden trades while I pass it to you for your thoughts.
16:56But that's about where I am with that. So you beat me to the punch by basically comparing Christian Watson to Jamison
17:05Williams because that is the closest comparison that you're going to get where Watson is is never going to be a hundred
17:14and forty hundred fifty plus target type of receiver.
17:18But he showed you exactly how and why he's such a lethal deep threat and can take the top off.
17:27Obviously, for anybody that has certain types of scoring, even Scott Fishbowl, where you get these excess points for 40 plus yard receptions and stuff.
17:38That's where Watson Watson's going to absolutely dominate for you.
17:42But for Golden and Golden's defense, this is an area that I don't think anybody saw coming.
17:49I did want to give a shout out to one of my charter buddies, Eli.
17:56He's he's a madman. Every single week he tweets out every single route that Golden runs.
18:02And he's been doing it since last year because he's been a solid believer and it's kind of it's finally coming to fruition.
18:12But, you know, you talked about it. The third amongst all amongst seventy three qualified wide receivers on the week in targets
18:22with the twelve six most routes run amongst that seventy three qualifying receivers.
18:27And then the end zone targets like these are the inside the 20 targets like these are statistics that we never really imagined.
18:37Matthew Golden would be able to achieve. So I kind of brought into the question like I'm starting to think that Golden
18:47is entering into that Quentin Johnston territory where we immediately labeled them a bust and basically considered them.
18:54Maybe a fake player and throw in deals and is now in their sophomore season showing that some of these rookies take time to develop.
19:05We are way too we want it all way too early and way too fast.
19:11And some of these rookies come in very, very raw and need time to develop.
19:18And maybe just maybe Golden is showing you what, you know, a year in the NFL does for your development.
19:26Yeah. And especially for a not a developmental league.
19:30We know that you kind of have to put in the work on your own.
19:37A lot of people assume these coaches all their coaching.
19:41It is not a developmental lead league like that is obviously an issue we're having with the quarterbacks.
19:49Yep. That is a quarterback problem. And. I know last week we had a couple different like kind of side conversations.
19:58I'll tell you, I was watching, I was scrolling through my YouTube shorts last night.
20:04Um, just sitting there having a drink and relaxing.
20:08And I got a video of Andrew luck talking to John Gruden, uh, in his, I think he was either his rookie
20:17year or he was coming out of Stanford. And just hearing him, how he, they were talking about, Oh, do you know this play draw up this one?
20:29And, and what about a halfback choice? And I need to have this.
20:35And just hearing how Andrew luck is like talking about his route development and all this stuff.
20:42And then not that long after, cause algorithms are algorithming.
20:47Yeah. I get the Andrew luck barstool interview where he's talking about his cadence and he does his cadence and my, my
20:56heart almost jumps out of my chest. And then not that long after you get to the Jackson dart, John Gruden conversation about his cadence.
21:07And it was a couple of scrolls later. And I was like, yeah, massive development problem, even just from cadences.
21:15So Gruden looks at him and goes, you just clap.
21:20That's it. And he's like, yeah, just you. I felt like you wanted to like, get out.
21:27Like, get out, like, get out of my face, leave like Thad castle screaming, get out in blue mountain state.
21:35Like he was just miserable, uh, hated everything about that.
21:40But that's, that's why the, the, the, it's not a developmental league popped into my head for someone like golden.
21:48And when you see this happen, it's like a light bulb.
21:53And I think dynasty managers want to like a moth to the light.
21:59They want it. They want to just gravitate to it.
22:03So I don't think we're that far off for Matthew golden.
22:08If he comes out, like I said, it goes five for 75, six for 84.
22:14They're gonna, it's gonna have the effect of a hundred yard, eight catch type game.
22:20Um, I just want to echo to your point about it, not being a developmental league.
22:27Like you got to be able to put in the work.
22:32I mean, just think about some of our favorite people are like our favorite players to root for this season.
22:41Some of them that have absolutely put in the grind and they have gone from basically either they're undrafted or, you know,
22:50a fringe drafted player to one of the favorite.
22:54Look at Jalen Coker, Parker Washington's, even some of these first round players who were labeled bus on draft day.
23:02You kind of see them grind differently and prepare differently.
23:07And you kind of, and you see it on the field.
23:11Think about Amon Ross St. Brown feeling like he got snubbed, right?
23:17Some of the most elite receivers always kind of have that chip on their shoulder.
23:23And so, you know, golden being a first round pick never really got treated like one.
23:30Yeah. There were limitations in his profile too. So it's not, it's not like, you know, when Matthew golden was, it was,
23:39it's the classic late round wide receiver, right? Dave, you're worthy.
23:44If you, if you want to go helmet scouting and parrot, was it, was it Quinn Ewer's fault?
23:52Kind of, kind of looks like it. But yeah, I just don't think we're that far off or we, I don't think
24:01we need that much to have golden, not be that far off from that first.
24:08First. And for a golden and a first for, for Drake London, looking at some of the trades, you can still go out and get them from yesterday.
24:20Golden, a 27 second and a 27 third for Malik Willis.
24:24For some reason, uh, that's definitely, I would do that every single time.
24:30AJ Brown, Isaiah likely and Coker who is quickly turning heads.
24:34I need to tell you now, we're not talking about Jalen Coker on this program this week.
24:42And I know he's been awesome. And I know people want to talk about him.
24:48I don't have an opinion yet. I should, I should have this like, go buy, sell a, but you know, buy for
24:58a first or he's, he's a can't miss. I don't know yet.
25:03He's awesome. Cause it all boils down to Bryce young.
25:07I'll promise you this. If Bryce young continues to play with the swagger he played with in week one to the moon with both McMillan and with Coker.
25:19Yeah. I don't think so. You don't think so?
25:23No. Do you remember his playing with his swagger when he threw the touchdown and copied Lamar Jackson and turned around and
25:32put the one up and he merely went back to needing to do jumping fadeaways to, to hit his receivers.
25:41I remember. I'm trying to turn back to that end of the season.
25:46Bryce, the, the, week one Bryce looked like that Bryce at the end of 2024.
25:53Look, I agree. I'm right there with you. Um, I just, the swag thing.
25:59I don't, I don't, I can't do the like swag court.
26:04Like I can't do it, but I don't have that hashtag.
26:08He's drippy analysis. I just don't have it. But the thing with Coker is it's such a unique, um, situation.
26:17And I feel like I need more time to process it.
26:22He has moved up in my rankings. I just don't have as much of a strong lean.
26:29If that makes sense. Cause I don't think Ted McMillan sucks, but his usage in comparison kind of does.
26:37So I don't, I don't know what to do with it yet.
26:42Uh, so that's about as much Coker talk as we're getting into, but in this particular trade, with it being tight end
26:52premium, I'm more inclined to go with the likely AJ Brown Coker side.
26:57But if you want the golden and a two side, I totally get it.
27:03Uh, I talked about likely on the other show, we're talking about my, some of my biggest L's.
27:11One of my biggest L's with the, I have this weird feeling.
27:16Same here. Swales that this show is just going to be one of those ones where we start with a set of topics.
27:26No, it's, it's gonna, it's gonna start with a set of topics and it's going to become 20 other ones.
27:34Yeah. Wrapped in and mixed in between because we're now that we're bouncing from player to player, but it's not like we don't have a point with it.
27:46So hang in there. I think I missed with likely in that I dismissed what he was in Baltimore and I, I double dismissed.
27:57I dismissed what he was in Baltimore because I was probably a little bit too close to the situation.
28:05Like last week, it's like, Oh, now you figured out how to get the second foot down in the back of the end zone.
28:15Thanks. But there's that. And then it was also, Oh, maybe I should have drafted the guy who's being coached by the
28:25guy that's helped Travis Kelsey remain relevant. And also, Oh, that Greg Roman guy who we all drooled over every tight end
28:34he's had in the NFL since 2019. So like I, I completely misplaced.
28:40I fell for the meme. I, the buy when a player becomes a meme guy fell for the coaching meme, the Harbaugh stupid look on his face.
28:51Uh, the Greg Roman hate and the, and the Matt Nagy memeing.
28:56I fell for it. And so my ranking on Isaiah likely and my, uh, reluctance to draft him and trade for him came through from the memeing.
29:08And you come through and you look at this usage, eight targets, four targets inside the 20.
29:15I don't think this goes away. I'm not a big Malachi fields guy.
29:21Uh, he's their wide receiver too. It looks like in New York actually think it's Isaiah likely and yeah, the touchdown definitely helped.
29:31He should have had three. He stumbled on the, on the catching inside.
29:36I believe it was inside the 10. He kind of got hit a little bit on the leg and he stumbled.
29:45He should have had three. I don't think he's going to have 14 touchdowns on the year, but you're telling me eight
29:55targets in a tight end premium with that kind of usage inside the red zone.
30:01Um, a 3.39 yards per route run 96 percentile number two out of week one.
30:07I don't think that is something that, uh, can regress to while it can regress will regress to, too far.
30:16You want to see the separation score be a little bit better, but he's still top, top seven, top six in the NFL.
30:26Um, he only outscored his expected projection by three, three something, three and a half points.
30:33He was right where he was supposed to be with his usage.
30:38The expected projection was still 24. That's what I'm saying.
30:42It's ridiculous. Like he overperformed, but like his expected was crazy.
30:47I don't think that usage goes away. So I'm, I'm in a tight end premium situation.
30:54That's kind of why I'm leaning to that side of that deal, though.
30:59I really don't love the AJ Brown portion of this.
31:04Yeah. I don't love that portion either. But so I'm glad that we're actually getting to likely here because it correlates with
31:13obviously the trades that we're going through. But I'm going to take full ownership and accountability because I, it's looking already.
31:22I know it's week one, but it's looking like the likely and the giants in general are going to be probably my biggest offseason miss in general.
31:34Um, I've had, I've already received multiple texts from other coworkers and people.
31:39I, I told not to go after likely. And, uh, even my other podcast partner, bill O'Brien was a big likely person.
31:49And, and I tried to tell him no, thank you.
31:53And I, I hate that for myself because while I didn't believe in the offensive environment and all the injuries, I didn't
32:02think neighbors would start the week one. All of these compounding factors made me believe that the giants were just going to be inept on offense.
32:13However, from a tight end perspective, I should have stuck to my guns because we always want a top two target in
32:23any offense, no matter the offense, when it's a tight end, especially for tight end premium and likely had everything out there
32:32in front of him to be the number two target on the team, potentially even number one.
32:40If neighbors didn't come out healthy and I just chalked it up like it didn't even matter to your point as well
32:49about probably being too close to the situation. I didn't see a world where likely would be able to switch teams and
32:58see growth or an increase in productivity. I just kind of felt like he was just, yeah, that level.
33:07Right now to, to the point, he's still like, if there's anything to nitpick about it, like he still was just 13th amongst tight end and routes run.
33:19So he's still kind of, you know, intertwining there with Theo Johnson and things like that.
33:25And he was just 21st in yards after the catch.
33:30So he really got what he created for himself and, you know, caught the ball and, but didn't really do anything after the catch.
33:40So there's a couple of things to maybe just be cautious about.
33:45However, the role, the opportunity, the way that the Giants came out and performed, it was against the Cowboys.
33:53So let's continue to see. But just this offense performed at significantly greater levels than I ever imagined heading into the season.
34:03Yeah. The Giants offense looks unreal. I'm just going to pull up Dalton Schultz for you.
34:10Don't leave. I have a reason. Don't leave. When you look at how Dalton Schultz performed with his routes, his targets, yards
34:19per route one was a little bit lower. But the separation score, the win rate being top 12 with the position.
34:28He was 12th in fantasy points per game, 15th in fantasy points.
34:33Like Isaiah likely can hit these and hit these with more upside.
34:38So in tight end premium, I just think that's, that can be incredibly, incredibly valuable.
34:45Like just, I wanted to pull up Dalton Schultz to give you a comparison of what that kind of target increase can
34:54be like 6.1 targets per game with a higher targets inside the 20.
35:00I mean, you're getting, you're getting really, really good production here.
35:04So Matthew golden going back. Uh, we've got a Debo, a player we were buying last week.
35:12Debo Swift, Jalen Warren, uh, for Jalen Warren and Matthew golden.
35:16This side, I'm okay. Taking the golden side. This is obviously somebody that wants some points off the roster.
35:25I imagine because Debo scored a bunch of points.
35:28Deandre Swift got the extension. This feels like somebody not kind of all the way into competing.
35:36I think this is a fine pivot type deal.
35:40I like the structure of that. Oh, my legs bring me up.
35:45These shoes are much too heavy. Träggst du immer noch diese spitzen things?
35:50I mean, are you not all the shoes so formed?
35:55Nein, you need Altras. Altras? Altras are formed like your feet with a foot-firmity 10 box.
36:01Just a bit more comfortable. Bezwinge deinen Lauf with Hallenzehen.
36:06Okay, that sounds traumhaft. More Comfort, Kraft and Dynamics.
36:10All through the Passform. Altra understands that. Altra, stay out there.
36:14We have got a Matthew Golden, Jacoby Lane. And a 28-4th for Mike Washington, a 27-2 and a 28-1st.
36:22So this is the first one that really... I just don't think I'm doing 28-1st.
36:29I'll say this. I'm not sending a 28-1st for like almost anything.
36:34Do not move your ones multiple years out if you are not a like...
36:40I would say an advanced trading type manager. That would just be my advice.
36:46You have to be incredibly active if you're going to be trading out multiple firsts.
36:52Insane active. Yeah, because if you trade your firsts and then you kind of hit a rut, that's where orphans are born.
37:02Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. Tell me about it. All right.
37:06So we've got... I don't know where to rank Matthew Golden yet.
37:11I don't have like a number. Trying to think of like a one-for-one player.
37:17All right. Here we go. BTJ. BTJ or Matthew Golden?
37:22Oh, God. We're going to talk about Brian Thomas Jr.
37:26I was looking for a one-for-one. Can I just default and say that I don't do one-for-ones?
37:33I know you don't. Am I allowed to just...
37:37You're the worst person to ask this question to.
37:41I know. I know. Because I just don't... I don't do it.
37:46It's a running back version. I know. I think I'm going to...
37:51I think... God. Ask me again. And chat, if you're watching, you leave a comment now where we're timestamping this video.
38:00And then... Comment and reply after we talk about Brian Thomas Jr.
38:05to see if you guessed right or wrong. All right.
38:10I want to see if... If... You guys can guess what I'm going to say from now till then.
38:18That way I can deflect and think about it a little bit longer.
38:23Deflect. I'm absolutely deflecting on this. These are fun.
38:27Let me know if... Chat as well. Let me know if you like it when I throw these little trade scenarios out too.
38:37Because I feel like we stick them quite a few times when we do this.
38:43Right. It's just the one-for-ones, man. I can't do it.
38:48It's tough. It is tough. It's a you-know-ball challenge.
38:52And I just think that usually ends up really bad for your dynasty rosters.
38:58Let's talk about one of the more disappointing results on the week one.
39:03And again, we don't want to overreact too much on week one, but this one I feel like is significant.
39:12Travis Achan in New Orleans. We have Alvin Kamara coming back.
39:16Miller looking good. You have it written down as ETN.
39:21That's E-T-N by the way. Not the deliberate misspelling.
39:25So when you're going to comment and let us know that his name is not pronounced that way, we know.
39:33But you have maybe over. I think that's dramatic.
39:37As the fat... As one of the fat RB pioneers, I think that might be a little dramatic.
39:45But it's definitely a letdown. Week one, nine attempts.
39:4915.7 expected fantasy points. That's not bad. Nothing inside the 10.
39:53Nothing inside the 5. A 58% snap share. Now he was efficient with a 5.11 yards per carry.
40:01better explosive run rate than it looked like when I watched back and I had to watch the game.
40:09It looks slow as hell. It looks super fat.
40:13But the explosive runs, it was there. He was forcing his tackles.
40:18Miss tackles force per attempt at a .22. These yards per yards before contact, really good.
40:25The line was really making some way for him at a 3.33.
40:30The yards after contact, though, not so good for him.
40:3414.8 points per game, but that's all on the passing work.
40:3916.1% target share. Only ran a route on 36.5% of the dropbacks, which I actually thought was way lower than I expected
40:48when I looked at how often he got spammed.
40:52Nine targets, seven receptions for only 32 yards, and I feel like you're not selling him because you're not going to really
41:02get much back for him, but I want to ask you, you are the film, you watch it, is Alvin Kamara just
41:11going to come in and take away this check down pass roll, and if he does, what does that leave for HN in New Orleans?
41:22So, this is exactly why I put that I thought it might be over for HN because I don't know what his
41:31role is when Kamara comes back unless they just decide to phase out Kendra Miller.
41:38Now, you kind of saw it on the screen here when we were looking through the advanced metrics with HN, but it's
41:47just like he only had nine carries on the entire game.
41:52Yes, they were trailing, so even if you wanted to talk about his missed tackles force per attempt being up there, really
42:01on nine carries, if he breaks two tackles on one of those carries, that right there is, so it's like a little
42:11bit of a small sample can kind of skew that metric.
42:15The metric that actually worries me significantly more is the lack of yards after contact.
42:22You talked about his explosiveness was greater than you thought and that he averaged over five yards a carry.
42:30That's because the offensive line was giving him more than three yards a carry or more than three yards before contact per attempt.
42:40That's insane. That is elite levels of blocking by that offensive line by the Saints and we believe that the Saints are
42:49supposed to have at least an average if not above average offensive line.
42:55So you talk about A-Chan barely getting the touches, getting none inside of the 20 or inside of the 10.
43:03Kendra Miller looked bigger, faster, stronger, harder to take down, where again A-Chan just kind of caught the ball and fell forward.
43:13We talked about this with Kalon Black. What was my worry with him?
43:18He got what was blocked up and he just fell forward, nothing more, nothing less.
43:25And that's essentially what I saw out of A-Chan.
43:29So then you're kind of hoping, okay, well he got nine targets, seven catches, we're good to go.
43:36This is PPR cheat code. Well, then you bring in one of the best receiving running backs of all time in Alvin
43:46Kamara and you think he's just going to sit on the sidelines on third downs and stuff?
43:53I don't think so. You still got Kellen Moore with a high pace of play.
44:00He's going to be rotating these backs and it's going to be a hot hand approach.
44:06So I'm very, very worried about A-Chan. I would be in the camp of trying to level up from him, trying to trade up.
44:17I'd be looking for two for one trades and seeing if I could get to like Javante Williams or Cam Scadabo levels
44:26of production rather than what we're looking at right now.
44:30Yeah. So if you look at Camara from last year, a 45.7% of the routes, only a 10.1% target share, a 0.93
44:40yards per outrun and a 0.2 targets per outrun.
44:44So it's not like he was providing an insane amount of value out of that position.
44:51But you have to think if there's a role for Alvin Camara, and I imagine there will be, it will be in that check down type role.
45:02I'm wondering does the two minute drill stuff go away for ETN?
45:07if it does. I think I'm more in your camp.
45:12Let's check out some trades. While you're looking this up, the other thing that I would say is GameScript is hardly going to favor A-chain as well.
45:23Because that's exactly what happened in this game. The Saints fell down 21 to nothing going into the third quarter, and that's
45:33where all of that catching volume and dump down targets kind of stem from.
45:39playing catch up all too often. But if they're going to be down in 60% of their games because they are essentially
45:48losing football squad, again, that's going to spell trouble for A-chain's ability to get positive game script, positive carries.
45:56You're not wrong here at all. Let's look at some of these deals.
46:02Now, when we do these deals that we're looking at in the fantasy points front office, I tend to ignore these ones
46:11that have nine people pieces, 10 pieces. They're not really a relatable deal, in my opinion, although I will say this one
46:21here that has Loveland, Zay, and Ken Walker for HN Strange, Parker, Marv, and a 28-1 is hilarious.
46:28I'll take that Walker, Zay. Yeah, that's one of those ones.
46:33I'll move my pick two years out. That's kind of a hilarious deal to me.
46:39I love you, Parker, but... Yeah. Sayonara. Give me Zaytoven there.
46:44It feels like a free... That trade feels like a free Kenneth Walker, and that's kind of insane to me.
46:53Anyway, we have got this HN for pick-ins and a 28-2.
46:57I'll just take pick-ins in the 28-2 in a one-quarterback tight end premium.
47:03I almost always default wide receiver in instances like that, even if there wasn't a pick.
47:10I'm not anti-running back, so I'm not always going to default to it, but Pickens is already valued higher.
47:18Yeah. Like, we're... You're giving a pick and more value to get the running back who has major red flags.
47:27That's why we're talking about him today. Talk about running backs with red flags.
47:33Here's another one. Quinshawn Judkins, a 27-2 and a 27-1st or Jordan Love and Travis HN.
47:39This side, I think I'm still taking the Judkins, the two and the one.
47:45Same. Yes. Now, I think Jordan Love is awesome.
47:49I just... If you're willing to ship away a quarterback for points and you're getting picks back, I feel like he's one
47:59of the ones that you should target for that.
48:03Again, I don't think the pass rate maintains in Green Bay and he needs high efficiency and you need insane volume.
48:12You have got a... See, this one I find interesting.
48:16HN in a second for Downs, Corm in a third.
48:20I actually lean the pick and HN side. Yeah, on that one I would too.
48:27I just... I can't do the Josh Downs thing.
48:30I can't do it. I don't think I can let analytics...
48:35tell me he's elite anymore and watch him get three targets on the opening drive and not see another one though down the entire game.
48:46He finally ran the routes. end of the game.
48:50Yeah, he ran the routes but didn't get the targets.
48:54But Sisyphus, his quarterback, who's lied to us all, just couldn't play the position.
49:00It looked rough. And then what's a salvation? Anthony Richardson?
49:04I don't know. It's bleak is the answer. The answer is bleak.
49:09I can't do it. So I'll take the pick there.
49:14You've got HN in a second for a 27, one and a four.
49:19And I love the structure of this trade. I love the...
49:24Give me... I'm going to give you a two in this running back that I want to sell, but I'm going to get a one out of it.
49:36I'll just take it. Someone will be like, well, what if it's an early two?
49:42It's basically a one. No, it's not. A two is a two and a one is a one.
49:50There's a massive difference there, especially if you're trying to make trades.
49:55It is way easier. Here's a trade structure bit for you guys and how I think about my deals.
50:03Not all trades are linear. So, when you're looking at how can I make my roster better, it's not always one trade
50:13and then it gets the job done. I can tell you that it is probably easier to approach somebody that has a
50:22really good player like a Zay Tovin if you have that 27 first in your back pocket to get a deal done,
50:32then it would be if you sent a 27 two and HN be like, what else do I need to throw on
50:41top of this to get the deal done? Visually, for the other manager, it is going to be easier to accept the
50:5127 first because it's easier to take that value and apply it.
50:56So, you don't even have to do this deal as someone that's rebuilding.
51:01You can still do this deal if this is someone that's retooling to get a better asset for later.
51:09But don't look at trades as linear. This trade is both for contender and a rebuilder and to me, this is perfect structure.
51:19So, we might be looking at this now being like, oh, that's an early two.
51:26What if it's a late two? Well, that makes the deal look even better.
51:32This is why we use the base first methodology, but that's how I look at trades.
51:39That's how I apply it. This isn't just a case of a rebuilder and a contender.
51:45This is just a perfect deal, in my opinion.
51:49Add, as we like to say, add a snack and go and get dinner.
51:55You add a snack to the transaction, tie them over, and then you take that 27-1 and you go get yourself the full meal.
52:06So, you're eating good with that 27-1. But that's just how I break down trades.
52:12That's how I look at it and apply it for multiple team types, if that makes sense.
52:19But I'm with you. I'm going to be moving H-hand down, I think.
52:25We moved Swift up, and it paid off. This week, I'm moving H-hand down, and I'm hoping that's going to pay off.
52:34I think the big one we should talk about is Javante Williams, Wales.
52:40I want to talk about Javante Williams. Am I allowed to say bell cow?
52:46Or are you going to yell at me again?
52:50I think you can say bell cow. All right, here, let's go.
52:55Let's go. Talk Javante because I had been saying in the Discord that he might lead the league in Snapshare this year.
53:04So talk to me about it. It looked really good in the production.
53:10We have some of those numbers for you too.
53:14100% of the touches inside the five. Doesn't get better than that.
53:19You literally have hilarious. You can't beat that. He had a 75% share of the carries 10th in targets.
53:27He had five six in attempts inside the 10 attempts inside the 10 attempts.
53:33Sorry fifth in expected fantasy points per game efficiency.
53:37You said his efficiency matched opportunity which I thought was interesting because it's not like the Giants have a pushover defense.
53:4610th in EPA per attempt. Fifth in success rate.
53:5017th in yards after contact. This play in the league because no one could stop it.
53:57But volume is king and Javante was the king of it.
54:01So let's talk about him. Obviously has the extension I want to buy and I have a real life trade that I
54:11want to ask you about because I said no with my co-manager but I want to know what you think.
54:19So let me ask you about this trade. So I'm actually so glad that you brought up rookie year Javante Williams.
54:28Javante is one of those near and dear to my heart as a Broncos fan.
54:35Hated to see him go obviously devastated when he got injured and I was worried that he may never be the player
54:44that we once wanted him to be and even still he's not quite as electric as he once was but this version
54:54that we got in week one was the most back that Javante has looked spry athletic quick twitchy powerful soft hands in
55:03the receiving game I mean everything that we saw from a first round type of talent coming out of North Carolina it
55:12was awesome to see and then the fact that he plays for the Dallas Cowboys which is going to be one of
55:22the highest most efficient fantasy offenses that we I mean I asked you at the beginning can want out of a potential
55:31RB one and yeah I'm telling you Javante Williams in this current role and the way that he looked on tape he
55:41looks like he could be full fully back into RB one territory like that 10 to 12 RB range yeah DeMarcato was
55:50someone that I rushed to pick up off waivers because I think I picked up 20 shares of Malik Davis I thought
56:00that was a really good value for me then he obviously misses now the entire year the surgery on I think is
56:09its hip no targets no receptions for DeMarcato which was the concern I don't dynasty community like DeMarcato is one of those
56:18guys that the dynasty community keeps telling me about but it's like another Cardinals or former Cardinal and Eno Benjamin that was
56:28I'm not that worried about it doesn't look like the Cowboys really worry about it too much I will say like one
56:37missed tackle forced by Javante like he's not going to make people miss too often I feel like at this stage of
56:47his career I'm fine with that but yards after contact 2.33 that's still ninth best so yeah he might not be breaking
56:56tackles but that's because he's so slow he gets gang tackled all the time like I don't know if that makes sense
57:05to people but like when you're this slow you don't get like one on one opportunities very much because usually when you
57:15go to juke out the DB you're getting caught from behind by a D lineman and that's kind of where Javante lives
57:24but like he drags people with him if that makes sense it does over his last eight games dating back in the
57:34last year it's a 13.9 point per game this was his best game but you can see on screen he had a
57:4317 point game against Kansas City he had the 15 point game against Minnesota those are not slouched defenses at all and
57:53in games where the point total needs to get pushed again you just have to expect that he is going to be
58:02the guy and if you look at his usage it came in all scenarios 16% on third down he was out there
58:11on third downs 39% on second down he was 17% on first down in all the different personnels he was the guy
58:21they used him in every kind of way from outside zones inside they had him in duo he is a do it
58:30all type running back I'll let you say it bell cow I think I think he is I have a hard time
58:40putting him in a scenario where he's not going to he he is here with zero competition any of those people that
58:49were gaslighting you on Imari Demercato are watching way too many special teams highlights stop it Caitlin Black has a fan base
58:59as well we did the podcast on Tuesday when we recorded that and we did the live that we do every week
59:08someone wanted to point out like yeah he absolutely has a role and I think it was you had posted in the
59:17in like the podcast group chat about Christian McCaffrey talking him up you know he absolutely has the ability I think the
59:27quote was you know we like to have guys keep everyone else fresh and you know he definitely has the ability to
59:36do that and you had posted I was like yeah that's just Christopher Caffrey being like I'm so happy I don't black
59:46black I said he's good enough to do that aka means yeah I don't want to slam into the a gap anymore
59:55boss like that's that's absolutely right but that is just Javante now I if Demar Carter comes in learns the offense a
60:05little bit more and gets a little bit more of a third down roll still the the high pace offense the what
60:14should be a high scoring offense and then obviously him being the primary carry back 100% of the touches inside of the
60:2310 like that's going to give high ceiling touchdown upside even if Javante takes a small dip in receiving production all right
60:33here we go it's trade time Javante Williams or scribbling in a two I'm almost always looking to score points so this
60:42really does depend on my team dynamic my gut says I'm going Javante because I want the points however if I'm nowhere
60:52near sniffing playoffs you gotta take that second that 27 second and scribbling and you gotta run with it don't think you
61:01do you don't not if you're a rebuilder no not all trades are linear so scribbling already has the injury stink and
61:11a two is a two if somebody wants to give up Javante Williams now after this game because they don't believe they
61:20don't think it's going to hold up it's a good perspective we make that trade now and yes for max points four
61:29this is definitely going to suck is important now I understand it's the Jeremiah Smith thing but hear me out let me
61:39if by week four week six we've got like 16 18 point per game Javante Williams because he's just getting all of
61:4816 to 18 points per game with 24 plus point upside on a good offense if they're not valuing that guy go
61:58win and go by all of the running backs in on this page in the front office trade database it's going to
62:07look small compared to what I think he's going to go for by week six by week seven if this continues and
62:17we both just sat here saying that it continues so with not all trades being linear I actually lean Javante you know
62:26what I think you convinced me because you're right you have Dijon stripling's value ain't going anywhere it's stagnant right and the
62:35only way it's going to go anywhere isn't going to come until weeks 10 through 12 so that gives you the flexibility
62:45to wait and see if you're being offered something like this and you're right the 27 second it just has the 20
62:5427 on there so it instantly kind of sets off alarm bells in your brain but if you take a second really
63:04think it over you're right this is essentially just kind of a mid tier reroll at this point there's no guarantees in
63:13the second round there's no guarantees in the first round even so Javante is a guarantee 16 to 18 points yeah you're
63:23talking about being able to tier this up to a 27 one you know maybe you get a 27 two and a
63:3228 one or something like that like you could tier this up to greater levels if you really felt the need to
63:41trade Javante and really try to figure out what your team dynamic truly is because we don't know right now in week
63:51one I will say there's a caveat to knowing your league I feel like that's a really important thing to know and
64:00I'll explain a trade that I said no to and why I did it even though it kind of resembles the stripling
64:10deal I think you're going to end up really enjoying that but let's look at some of the other deals it's just
64:19important to remember in season is that look the tier up the tear down everyone knows everybody wants to tear down all
64:29right the tear down trade method is almost dead because everybody you know that every single person is putting their pick on
64:38the block the moment they go on the block even if the guy that they have told everybody and their mom that
64:47they want to draft is you have the time to talk in the time to press it's round one what do you
64:57have to think about this isn't round 10 when you're like oh my god there's nine guys that are on my list
65:06oh my god no it's round one like Bichon Bichon click the button drives me mental but it's almost impossible to have
65:16the super team now because everybody wants to do it where people are not capitalizing is the non linear trade bumps right
65:25using different trades to increase the value on your roster they look at it as this trade got me this this trade
65:35got me that instead of compiling your deals and getting greater returns that's the in season method some two of for 27
65:44first I'd go Javante I think on that one right so maybe now let me tell you why it depends on where
65:53the where the 27 first could potentially be but you're getting two significant point scores in my eyes with Javante potentially being
66:03RB1 I don't think Chuba is going to be a significant point scorer by like week eight same thing happened with Dowdle
66:12I think they're easing Brooks back I think the idea of like Exodia Exodia Exodia had people thinking 30 points in week
66:22one but I feel like they're easing him back we've seen Chuba lose his job halfway through the year before it's not
66:31like Chuba Hubbard was like a insane efficient elusive type player but this is also one where you're probably losing value now
66:41but you look back at it in like a month and yes it goes back to even so that's that's where I
66:50was going to go with this so we talked about doing things to get the better package you're getting the better package
66:59now you're getting the golden goose right you've got the 27 one and if you're making a deal like this I am
67:09assuming it is with the one in mind so you've already got the better package that you would be looking for in
67:18a you know that second and stripling to go and get a one later you've just got the one now you just
67:28at this point are paying Chuba Hubbard for it and overpay now is an underpay tomorrow so with that in mind I
67:37take one because if you are sending this kind of point away it's not like we're talking about a 30 year old
67:47running backs is 26 26 is the new 24 for running back so you're not your team must not be built to
67:56sustain this type of point so I'll take the one in this case because it's the golden goose we are chasing with
68:05the last trade structure that we just talked about you totally agree because with this one it's one of those you called
68:15it the golden goose but you're cashing out at a premium which Avante if you can add to get to that first
68:24and recoup essentially recoup your assets on an aging player you're selling while it's hot recouping as much as you can and
68:34then adding continuous value to as much as I like Harold Fannin in a tight end premium league I will take the
68:43running back and it's not because Fannin put up a zero and it's not just because of the offense it's just I
68:53feel like running backs still are more important than what a tight end is when you can just go and drop a
69:02Dalton Schultz in and call it a day you're not this isn't about a tight end that is like okay like Harold
69:11Fannin we're talking about guy drafted in the fourth round in an explosive offense yes he put up a goose egg just
69:21like Harold Fannin did but I do Fannin so that's why I'm doing that yeah someone's gonna be like but you just
69:30said with Fannin and the tight end thing and that I don't think by the end of the year you're gonna just
69:40be able to replace Loveland with like Dalton Schultz that's just all right how about the trade that I said no to
69:49in real life I'm gonna go and get that all right team is okay it's not amazing somebody wants Blake Korm in
69:59a 27 two I do not have a 27 first I would be picked depleted in this year's draft and they want
70:08to send me Javante Williams me and my co-manager have said no on this deal this is not an elite performing team
70:17for projections in this year we have Drake London we do have Luther Burden but Bowers is already hurt we have Terry
70:27McLaurin we have Ja'Cory Krosky Merritt who is benched for fumbling fumbling and not a lot of depth here although we are
70:36set at quarterback oddly enough for this team being one of mine us not having the first makes me less likely to
70:46move the second and I do know for a fact we are not getting a one later for Javante which is why
70:55somebody wants quorum and a two now I can tell you I know for a fact we were like the fifth person
71:05this person asked so kind of getting the market eval here I think this dynasty team underperforms even though it has some
71:14names because it has Justin Herbert on it which immediately means it's going to underperform but yeah I said no to quorum
71:23in a two with the caveat of knowing that there's no hope that I get a one later even if this maintains
71:33stay out there yeah I I don't think I would have taken this you you actually said it right at the beginning
71:42that you don't feel like your team is in territory to potentially compete right now you you right you you cooked yeah
71:52I'm killing myself on the JMO trade in a league that we're in together actually so I know with this one this
72:01it just doesn't fit the team build while you if quorum in a second basically or that level of replacement for him
72:11so no with this one it doesn't really fit the narrative it's not an unfair price it definitely would work and I
72:20would tell people if you have a quorum type and you're a contender like while quorum is a premier handcuff I don't
72:29see him as anything more than that so if I could level up from a quorum to a Javante I would be
72:39more in that that realm on certain teams but in this situation I'd be passing as well yeah yeah yeah and that's
72:48why now if you look at again you compare that to the trades that we talked about it was under the impression
72:58that you think you could get a better deal later so again we talked about in one way I'm giving you an
73:07example of how that wouldn't work so again we can avoid the comments when you said this here and then you went
73:16against it here we got you we we are covering all the bases here we're not people that don't go by what
73:26we say now we want to talk about one more player because I said you could re-ask me a question Brian Thomas Jr.
73:36I think we have to talk about Brian Thomas Jr.
73:40I was actually more impressed with him than I thought I would be thank you I was more impressed with him than
73:49I on the field because I think it's important to talk about when he wasn't on the field and that's really what
73:59stood out to me three targets on only 12 routes yep 50% of the routes 13% target share that's not great but
74:08a 92nd percentile in yards per route run at a 3.33 78th percentile in targets per route run at a .25 88th
74:18percentile in catch rate at no drops 100% that's why the 88th percentile thing is kind of funny when you say it
74:27that way a 16.7 percent win rate I'm going to let you explain what win rate is as someone that has to
74:37chart it you know a lot more about it somebody might the third down usage was kind of insane 11 personnel he
74:46was on the field 89 percent of the time he wasn't really out there on third down granted they were ahead a
74:55lot the four yards per route run from out wide is really really good but I said as Brian Thomas Jr.
75:04just reversed Josh Jones and that he mainly comes in for 11 personnel but plays outside but I said for what it's
75:14worth I was impressed with him on his targets I can't spell but that is supposed to say it's just hard to
75:23see total upside when Myers is in there and two wide receiver sets right now and that was my takeaway yes he
75:33was winning yes he looked good I thought his hands looked solid he was explosive to the sideline which I thought was
75:42kind of lacking last year all in all really good stuff but the snap count really bad target share worrisome but not
75:52good Parker Washington didn't run a crap ton of routes either he basically ran like one route the entire second half so
76:01like they just didn't have to run that many routes once they just started to route up you the pass game of
76:10so I remember charting obviously the Jaguars passing offense I thought it was in the first half obviously our watchers can comment
76:20on that either way the one thing I will say one thing that the listeners are going to learn about me not
76:29only do I watch tape and data charter but work with people on a day to day business and so certain people
76:39can lie to you but their body can't unless they're trained so the average Joe is not going to be able like
76:48they can lie to your face but their body language is going to an opportunity to get popped and so with this
76:58one you kind of talked about it dude just looks so much more electric in 7.7% win rate which is just slightly
77:07above his separation score and that's because that's where he gets he can really he has that short area quickness to really
77:16get pressed off of the cornerback and give that area for the quarterback to be able to throw and fit it into
77:26a window and so that was all super encouraging now as I end Brian Thomas was going to be on an absolute
77:35blitzkrieg of competition playing at the X receiver he's just had to go up against Ward now he's going up against Patrick
77:45Sertain he's going against basically a whole laundry list of the best defensive backs in the NFL to start the season so
77:54after seeing what he did in week one going against Pat Sertain next I'm encouraged I think Parker has officially alphaed him
78:04but I strongly believe that this is kind of compared to the Lions who we saw on Thursday night there's a scenario
78:13where BTJ can get to the Jameson Williams area career spectrum while Parker Washington kind of feels that you know I'm on roll I'm on Ross St.
78:25Brown type of role in this offense so he's more of the target guy so I went and looked because I corrected
78:34myself before the comments could do it he did get hurt in the first half he hurt his shoulder in the first
78:43half and apparently there was a thumb thing as well they're going to monitor his usage in week two so that can't
78:53be good but he did get out routed by Jacoby Myers he was strictly playing on the outside the EPA per target
79:02was better for miles I believe a lot of that is the touchdown that will tend to skew some things but the
79:12target per run is much better the yards per run is much better the first read was much better and the deployment
79:21the panic meter is still there and if Jameson Williams is his peak I want out so Brian Thomas Jr.
79:30and Matthew Golden I think I'm going to go Matthew Golden all right that's interesting I I'm going to that I will
79:39not argue I mean I'm all Parker all day so that one's pretty interesting especially because this is a world where I
79:49yeah I'm all over it but like even a third or something I'm pretty interested I'm just pulling up the comparison week
79:58one for Golden the first read stands out to me at a 30.3% now the first downs per outrun that is down
80:07but again the targets weren't there so it's going to skew things same with the yards per target over expectation and the
80:17EPA per target so the small sample size makes that harder to go with but again these are the numbers from Golden
80:26that give you the opportunity to be the number one on a good offense I don't know if Brian Thomas Jr.
80:35is valued that way by this coaching staff and by the team that's the market report for this week little bit all
80:45over the place I have a feeling that's how these episodes are going to go I feel like we're going to build
80:54a show sheet and then we're going to talk about one player and then three players later we'll get back to the
81:04one we started at always then tilting there
