Jordan is ranked at tight end 18 for Week 2 against the Broncos. He scored a touchdown against the Broncos last year and has scored four touchdowns in his last seven games. Ian Hartitz notes that "as long as Trevor Lawrence keeps looking like one of the best quarterbacks in football, Brevin Jordan should be along for the ride," positioning him as a touchdown-dependent tight end option whose upside is tied to Lawrence's continued strong play.

Fizzy Joe projects Jordan as having the biggest upside in camp; fully recovered from back-to-back season-ending injuries since September 2024, motivated to keep his spot over rookie second-round pick Marlin Klein and veteran Foster Moreau. Jordan could explode onto the scene and potentially become the #2 tight end or even push Dalton Schultz for playing time if he gels with offensive coordinator Nick Caley's scheme, similar to how Rams TEs Tyler Higbee and Colby Parkinson function as both blockers and receivers.

Expected to see significant snaps in pass-heavy formations and receiver-aligned tight end situations; the source notes Jordan carries more experience and blocking potency than competing tight end Marlin Klein, and expects him to receive more early-season attention unless Klein significantly outperforms him. The source expresses concern that Jordan's talent may be underutilized if he falls down the depth chart, calling him a foundational piece of Houston's young talent base who could face the chopping block.

Jordan suffered a season-ending knee injury in August last year that derailed his opportunity to garner playing time as a 2021 fifth-round pick. His absence from coordinator Nick Caley's offense became more apparent with each passing week. However, Stefon Diggs posted a clip from Texans training camp showing Jordan working against Will Anderson Jr. on the edge in pass protection, with the caption 'If he can stay healthy there is absolutely a role for him in any offense.' The source expects Jordan to get more attention earlier in the season than rookie Marlin Klein due to his experience and potency as a blocker, and he's competing for the #2, #3, or #4 TE spot.

The source expects Brevin Jordan to receive more attention earlier in the season than Marlin Klein in pass-heavy formations and receiver-lined-up situations, citing his greater experience and superior blocking potency in the NFL. However, his role remains contingent on Klein not outperforming him; the source questions whether Jordan will finally get his chance to show off his freakish athletic abilities for a full season or if Moreau and Klein will combine to steal his thunder. Jordan's depth chart standing is also precarious—he could face the chopping block if he ends up at the bottom of the depth chart, potentially becoming a trade-able asset.
