The matchup vs. Green Bay is fine for Mason; the Vikings are at home as 1.5-point favorites with the 10th-highest team total, and the Packers run defense was middle of the pack last year, allowing the 17th-most rushing yards per game. They did get smoked for 172 rushing yards over their last four games without Parsons. Mason's fantasy day will be determined by whether he scores a touchdown; he ran for 94 scoreless yards in Week 18 against the Packers last year without Jones available.

While some rankers expect Mason and Aaron Jones to share work, reports from Vikings training camp suggested that Jones might be more of a change-of-pace back, with Mason the lead ball-carrier in a redesigned run scheme that looks like a great fit for him. The Vikings get a home matchup against a Green Bay defense that had struggled to stop the run late last season. Mason's lack of pass-catching upside makes him a little less attractive in full-point PPR leagues, but he's at least FLEX-worthy no matter the format.

Even in his hay day, Deebo would get a lot of perimeter runs. This TC, he's gotten a ton of carries because of all the injuries. Here, he cuts one up perfectly right as Trent is getting to the second level. Beautiful.

Ben Johnson has called plays against an Ejiro Evero defense once, back in 2023. Amon-Ra St. Brown did not play. The Lions won 42-24. Goff was 20/28 for 236 and 3 TDs and he ran in another TD. David Montgomery ran for 109 and a score. Both Craig and Josh Reynolds scored TDs.

Mason demonstrated significant upside in the 2024 opener when McCaffrey was a surprise game-day scratch, rushing for 147 yards and a touchdown. Mason's post-game comments suggested he knew all along he would start, essentially disclosing the Niners were intentionally misleading everyone on McCaffrey's true status, though he later walked those comments back.
