Aaron Rodgers

PositiveValue3:47

Recommended as a quarterback streaming option for Jalen Hurts owners. Dave Richard ranks Rodgers third for Week 6 (behind Jameis Winston and Kirk Cousins) but moves him to the top for Week 7 because Rodgers faces the Saints while Winston has the Texans and Cousins has the Rams.

Insight page

Carson Steele

NegativeUsage8:00

Dave Richard notes that McKee got preseason time with Carson Steele, Damian Pierce, Makai Lemon, and Darius Cooper, suggesting there could be a timeshare in the backfield. Richard would pass on everybody except Goddard when it comes to Eagles options for fantasy this week, including Steele, because there could be a timeshare behind a bad offensive line with a bad quarterback, and these guys don't necessarily catch a lot of passes.

Insight page

Cole Payton

NegativeRole9:30

Eagles rookie quarterback who was at the Senior Bowl. Dave Richard notes he has some traits but doesn't think he's ready for the NFL by any stretch, suggesting he's not an option if Jalen Hurts is out for an extended period.

Insight page

Daniel Jones

NegativeValue3:47

Mentioned as a deep-league streaming option for Jalen Hurts owners, though Dave Richard questions whether you have the stones to start him in his matchup against Tennessee. It's not the worst option you could do, but it's a desperation play.

Insight page

Darius Cooper

NegativeRole5:00

Part of a makeshift receiving corps with Dontavian Wicks and Makai Lemon while Devontae Smith is out. Heath Cummings notes this is not the best receiving core right now. Cooper is not recommended as a fantasy option for Week 6.

Insight page

DeVonta Smith

PositiveInjury0:46

Not seen at the open portion of practice Thursday; doesn't have a great chance to play in Week 6. Heath Cummings advises not holding out for Smith. However, he remains a buy-low candidate from a longer-term standpoint; Cummings still projects him as a potential number-two receiver in this environment and notes the Eagles' schedule is very good (Cowboys, Commanders, Giants).

Insight page

Jalen Hurts

NegativeInjury0:19

Out for Week 6 with a superficial blood clot; timeline for return is unclear. Dave Richard advises hesitating to drop him until more information emerges, noting that by the time he returns the offensive line may be healthier and Devontae Smith and Saquon Barkley may be back, making a snap drop potentially regrettable.

Insight page

Jalon Daniels

NegativeValue3:47

Mentioned as a desperation quarterback option for Jalen Hurts owners, though Dave Richard notes it's obviously not good if Hurts is your only quarterback and you have to find somebody else.

Insight page

Jameis Winston

PositiveValue3:47

Recommended as a quarterback streaming option for Jalen Hurts owners. Dave Richard ranks Winston first among multi-week options (ahead of Kirk Cousins and Aaron Rodgers) for Week 6, though the ranking changes for Week 7 when Rodgers moves to the top due to Winston facing the Texans and Cousins facing the Rams next week.

Insight page

Kirk Cousins

PositiveValue3:47

Recommended as a quarterback streaming option for Jalen Hurts owners. Dave Richard ranks Cousins second among multi-week options (behind Jameis Winston and ahead of Aaron Rodgers) for Week 6, though the ranking changes for Week 7 when Rodgers moves to the top due to Cousins facing the Rams next week.

Insight page

Kyler Murray

PositiveMatchup4:30

Recommended as a quarterback to look at for Week 7 when he faces the Colts. Kyler's schedule is described as great after the Vikings bye.

Insight page

Makai Lemon

NegativeRole5:00

Listed as part of a makeshift receiving corps with Dontavian Wicks and Darius Cooper while Devontae Smith is out. Heath Cummings notes this is not the best receiving core right now, and hopes Smith comes back at 100%. Lemon is not recommended as a fantasy option for Week 6.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

PositiveValue3:27

Buy-low candidate despite missing practice again. Heath Cummings believes the Eagles will take their time with Barkley and not rush him back given Hurts is out. Cummings still projects Barkley as a potential number-two running back in this environment; while return on investment won't match draft capital, he can be acquired relatively cheap via trade if someone wants to unload him due to Hurts injury concerns. The Eagles' schedule remains very good (Cowboys, Commanders, Giants).

Insight page

Tanner McKee

NegativeProjection7:17

Dave Richard reviewed tape of McKee's Week 18 start last year (14 fantasy points on 40 attempts vs. Commanders) and assessed him as competent but concerning. McKee lacks a great arm, doesn't put much velocity into throws, and is pressure-sensitive. With the offensive line down at least three starters from Week 1 (possibly four), this is problematic. Richard would pass on McKee for fantasy purposes this week. McKee also doesn't run at all—in two career starts he has not run, so he won't help with rushing points.

Insight page

Tyler Huntley

NegativeValue3:47

Mentioned as an interesting quarterback option for Jalen Hurts owners if they're really desperate for a replacement.

0:00This is Fantasy Football Today from CBS Sports What a play!
0:03Can you believe this? He had no idea It's time to dominate your fantasy league Off to the races!
0:09And he stays at his feet! He's just gonna go the distance!
0:13Now here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie and Heath Alright everybody, let's do a bonus podcast right now on Fantasy Football
0:19Today And unfortunately Jalen Hurts is gonna be out this weekend And we don't know how long this injury will keep him
0:26off the field We hope he gets better soon He has a superficial blood clot And it's a matchup against the Panthers
0:33this week And this incredible stretch of matchups coming up for the Eagles offense Dallas at Washington and the Giants We're all
0:40here, Adam Azer, Dave Richard, Heath Cummings, Jamie Eisenberg Heath, earlier this morning on Thursday you talked about how much you liked
0:46Whichever running back was going to start for the Eagles against the Panthers We also just saw a report a couple minutes
0:53ago That Saquon Barkley and Devontae Smith were not seen at the open portion of practice So is there any Eagle that you're comfortable starting this week?
1:01I might have a hard time getting away from Dallas Goddard Just because if we don't have Devontae Smith Carolina still doesn't
1:08have any corners So I think they'll probably stay in that deep shell coverage They've been playing to prevent themselves from getting
1:14burnt over the top Which could mean a lot of easy dump-offs to Dallas Goddard He'll still be a top 12 tight
1:21end for me And then Damian Pierce is probably going to We've talked about it already Like you get past RB18 this
1:28week And we don't like these guys Damian Pierce is probably going to have a lot of work I would guess the
1:35Eagles will try to run the ball And take something off Tanner McKee's plate So Pierce will probably be a low-end RB2
1:41All right, so that's the topic really we can talk about tomorrow Unless you have some questions about tonight's game You know,
1:48you just have to go against any Eagle I mean, you don't have to start Evan Ingram Or A.J.
1:54Barner over Dallas Goddard or anything like that But, you know, start Jalen Waddell Don't hold out for Devontae Smith or anything
2:00like that It doesn't look like he's got a great chance to play The running backs are interesting though I mean, Pierce
2:07versus the Broncos guys What's your call? So, at this point with the fact that Barkley didn't practice again And that their
2:14quarterback is out My guess is they're going to take their time with Barkley And not rush him back So, I would
2:20probably wait it out And see if I like Pierce better than the Broncos guys So I would go that route We
2:27can do a little beat the waiver wire here Dave, talking about some quarterbacks Like, what do you do if you have Jalen Hurts?
2:34First of all, do you drop Jalen Hurts? And secondly, what's the alternative?
2:38I would hesitate to just snap drop him Until we know more about when he'll come back We don't know Nothing's come
2:45out that says anything That's as of 2.20 p.m.
2:48Eastern on Thursday So, if something comes out and it says Yeah, he's going to miss a month plus He's droppable But
2:54by the time he comes back Maybe the offensive line's a little bit healthier Maybe Devontae Smith and Saquon Barkley are back
3:01You might regret it So, just be aware of that Let's put him in the droppable But not a must-drop category And
3:08then you just pivot to one of the other quarterbacks I'm sure You know, the veterans that we talked about this week
3:15From Cousins, Jameis, Rogers Like, they're all going to be available in some leagues I think if you've got a scratch deeper
3:21than that At quarterback It could get pretty gross I don't know if you've got the stones To start Daniel Jones In
3:28his matchup against Tennessee It's not the worst that you could do Tyler Huntley Would be another interesting option Maybe if you're
3:35really desperate You could try Jalen Daniels But it's It's obviously not good If Hurts is your only quarterback And you've got
3:41to go and find somebody else And a lot of these veterans are already rostered And if you're choosing between those three What did you say?
3:49You said Jameis, Winston You said Kirk Cousins Did you say Yeah, my order would be Winston, Cousins, Rogers If you're doing
3:56it for multi-weeks And you're thinking about week seven as well I would change it Yeah The order changes for me Rodgers
4:03would be at the top, yes Yeah, because Jameis has the Texans And Cousins has the Rams next week Rogers has the
4:09Saints Another guy to look at If you're looking for next week Is Kyler Murray He gets the Colts next week Kyler's
4:16schedule is great After the Vikings bye Yeah Anything else you want to talk about With this story, Jameis?
4:22I don't mean to shortchange it or anything But he's out The Eagles are probably going to struggle Offensively this week And
4:28you could talk about Tanner McKee And how you feel about him in Superflex I'm thinking about picking up In a Superflex
4:35dynasty league But I don't know It's not that exciting But what do you think?
4:40Well, I mean We're in the throes of bye week hell right now You know, so it just started This is the
4:46first team with four teams First week with four teams on a bye So you're going to need some Healthy bodies that
4:53can throw the football And he's not Jalen Hurts He may have a little bit more Success running this offense on schedule
5:00So that may help the receivers You know, that could certainly be a possibility You still have a makeshift offensive line I
5:06didn't mean to curse I apologize Makeshift offensive line I like how you apologize there But you don't apologize Usually I'll do
5:13it on purpose It was accurate Yeah, it works Yeah, it's accurate Subliminal thoughts there The offensive line stinks Or has a
5:20potential to stink You know, you're talking about Throwing to Dontavian Wicks And Darius Cooper And Makai Lemon It's not the best
5:26receiving core right now Hopefully Smith comes back And is 100% I think when you're looking at it You know, I mentioned
5:33on Wednesday From a buy low standpoint You know, go by the Eagles I still think Saquon Barkley Could be a number
5:40two running back In this environment I still think Devontae Smith Could be a number two receiver In this environment You're not
5:46going to get The investment The return on investment That you have At least, you know When drafting them But you can
5:53still trade for them Relatively cheap If somebody wants to just Unload them Because of the concern Of what Jalen Hurts is
6:00Because the schedule Is still very good Like we've seen Time and time again You know, backup quarterbacks Come in and elevate
6:07The players around them Maybe not to the same degree But in the case of Jalen Hurts We know he's not The
6:13most polished passer So that could certainly Change some things And help You know, what this offense Does under Sean Mannion You
6:20know, for McKee In a super flex league And you look at the schedule Coming up It's just Might be someone You
6:27want to pick up Because it's the Cowboys The Commanders And the Giants In their next three games And maybe Jalen Hurts
6:33Is back next week We just don't know It's a blood clots I don't think you really Get a great timeline For
6:40these types of things Any final thoughts, Heath? It's terrible Hope Jalen Hurts is okay Yeah Yeah Exactly All right, so You
6:47wonder though If they lose Like do they Do they shut him down?
6:51I mean, I know It's not that type of injury And the irony of This week is Taylor Moten The tackle for
6:57the Panthers Coming back from A blood clot issue In his lungs You know, different scenario But he was out For the
7:04first four weeks Of the season And that could Be what they're Dealing with You know If you live in South Florida
7:11You know a little bit Blood clots Ruined Chris Boster's career You know, he was He was Part of the big three
7:17And had to Basically retire Because of blood clots I'm sure there's Numerous other examples I just know That one in particular
7:24So hopefully It's not something That's Serious, serious For Jalen Hurts All right, let's take One quick break And get some final
7:31Thoughts on Tanner McKee When we come back Dave, you looked At some tape Of Tanner McKee He actually had A start
7:37in week 18 last year And scored about 14 fantasy points On 40 pass attempts Against the commanders What'd you say?
7:44He's competent I wouldn't say He's got a great arm Certainly doesn't put A lot of velocity Into his throws And when
7:50he does It can be off target I worry about How he'll perform He's definitely Pressure sensitive A lot of quarterbacks Are
7:57But with With an offensive Line down At least three Starters from week One It could be Four starters From week one
8:04That's problematic For him And I think About You know The Damian Pierce Call I don't think He's going to be The
8:11only running back That the Eagles Use And McKee Got some time This preseason With Pierce With Carson Steele With Makai Lemon
8:17A little bit With Darius Cooper You know I I just feel like I would pass On everybody Except Goddard When it
8:24comes to Options for fantasy This week And that includes Pierce Because I just think That there could be A timeshare In
8:31a backfield Behind a bad Offensive line With a bad With a bad Quarterback And these guys Don't necessarily Catch a lot
8:37of Passes Stealed it in the Preseason from McKee But it could get Really gross The Carolina Panthers DST is out They're
8:44in 83% Of CBS Sports Leagues I think they're A good start This week Against the Eagles Oh yeah That's a good
8:51Also like If you're thinking About Tanner McKee For Superflex In the two times He's started So far in his career He
8:57has run Not at all Yeah So I'm not even sure Like he's a backup Quarterback that's going To help you score
9:04points With his legs at all Right And he's going to And he's going to do And he's going to do Very
9:11well Passing Jalen Hurts Has averaged 7.5 yards Per pass Attempt Over his career And he's been About 20% Worse than that
9:17This year Because the situation Is so awful So This is This is a Horrible spot For a backup Quarterback That also
9:24doesn't run Do they Is there anybody I know Andy Dalton Just got released Is there anybody Out there You think that
9:31They go get I mean it depends On how long Hurts is out too Like if they really Decide that This is
9:37it And Hurts isn't Coming back this year Then I don't know If Dalton even Comes back They've got a rookie Named
9:44Cole Payton Who was at the Senior Bowl And I think he's Got some traits But I don't think He's ready for
9:51The NFL By any stretch So You know I just wonder If they've got Two wins If they end up With two
9:58wins Where does this team Go in 2027 Yeah It's a good question But you know what This is a Crucial stretch
10:04Best case scenario For them is Jalen Hurts Missing minimal time Coming back And they're saved By the NFC East Because even
10:11if They lose this week They're still going To be right in The thick of it In the NFC East Well if
10:18the Giants Win and they lose They're what Three games back Two and a half back I think The tie They haven't
10:24played The Giants yet The tie They've got to feel like They will beat the Giants You know They should Beat the
10:31Giants Alright That's it for This bonus episode Thanks so much everybody For tuning in And good luck to you In week
10:38six See you later Podcasts We'll be right back to you
