Adam Randall

PositiveSleeper11:51

Adam Randall is the rookie running back behind Derrick Henry and serves as a high-upside stash in the event of an injury to Henry.

Insight page

Antonio Williams

PositiveUsage16:56

Antonio Williams is an intriguing option who saw increased usage in the slot following Chico Conquo's injury. He has a solid floor of 10-11 PPR points.

Insight page

Bryce Young

PositiveProjection7:01

Bryce Young is a viable start for Week 2 against Atlanta, though not a top-12 option. If he builds on his Week 1 performance and the Panthers' offensive line gets healthy, he could emerge as a productive fantasy quarterback.

Insight page

Caleb Douglas

PositiveSleeper3:53

Caleb Douglas is the top waiver wire priority and the primary stash candidate for fantasy managers, currently rostered in 56% of leagues but widely available in 10-team formats.

Insight page

Dalton Schultz

PositiveValue18:54

Dalton Schultz is a viable tight end target if you need a multi-week solution, as he is expected to see increased work while Nico Collins is out.

Insight page

Demond Claiborne

PositiveSleeper8:45

DeMond Claiborne is a high-upside stash behind Aaron Jones while Jordan Mason is out. While DJ Dallas may handle third-down duties, Claiborne is the clear next-man-up if Jones misses time.

Insight page

Emmett Johnson

PositiveSleeper10:28

Emmitt Johnson appears to be the primary backup to Kenneth Walker III and is worth stashing given Walker's high-touch workload and injury history.

Insight page

Hunter Henry

NegativeValue20:14

Hunter Henry is a secondary tight end option if Mayer or Schultz are unavailable, serving as a reliable security blanket for Drake Maye.

Insight page

Jacoby Brissett

NegativeValue7:27

Jacoby Brissett is not a recommended start for Week 2 against Seattle, but he is a consideration for future matchups at San Francisco (Week 3), the Giants, and Detroit.

Insight page

James Conner

PositiveValue11:51

James Conner should be stashed in IR spots where available. He offers potential value if he gets healthy or is traded to a new team.

Insight page

Michael Mayer

PositiveValue17:23

Michael Mayer is the top tight end waiver add while Brock Bowers is out. He is a plug-and-play starter and preferred over other options like Dalton Schultz, Travis Kelce, and Mark Andrews for the immediate term.

Insight page

Tre Harris

NegativeSleeper16:42

Trey Harris is a deep-league stash option who is fast and plays with Justin Herbert, though expectations should remain tempered.

Insight page

Tyjae Spears

PositiveUsage10:16

Tyje Spears has upside to out-snap Tony Pollard if the Titans continue to face negative game scripts, making him an interesting stash candidate.

0:00Creatine is easily one of the most researched supplements on the planet, but I hit a point where I realized just trusting a pretty label wasn't enough.
0:08I needed actual verification. That's why I made the switch to Momentus Signature Spec Creatine.
0:13Instead of chasing flavor trends, Momentus set a brand new benchmark by producing their creatine in a pharmaceutical facility with reverse osmosis water purification.
0:20It undergoes a rigorous six-stage testing process with four independent agencies, guaranteeing 10 times fewer impurities, tighter heavy metal limits, and tests for microplastics and purification.
0:28For my own routine, having that level of purity is non-negotiable.
0:32And the fact that it's an ultra-fine powder that mixes seamlessly with no clumping makes it effortless to take every day for power, recovery, and brain health.
0:40If you want to try Momentus Signature Spec Creatine, head to livemomentus.com and use code FFT for up to 35% off your entire first order.
0:47That's livemomentus.com, promo code FFT for up to 35% off.
0:50Livemomentus.com, livemomentus.com, promo code FFT. I'll be honest with you, I've never really enjoyed shopping for clothes.
0:56It's just not my thing. But I do like getting nice clothes, and I like looking good, and I like feeling confident when I get dressed.
1:04So what's the solution here? It's Stitch Fix. This is an online personal styling service that has helped so many people get better style effortlessly.
1:11So stop scrolling through a bunch of websites, and stop driving to stores, and just go to Stitch Fix.
1:17Here's how it works. It's very simple. You take a quick style quiz.
1:21You share your size, your vibe, your budget. You're going to get linked with a stylist, and an actual human being, by the way.
1:28So you get linked to the stylist, and they do the rest of the work.
1:33You get sent a fix box with clothes that actually fit you and make sense for your style and your needs.
1:39And then you try them on. You keep what you like.
1:43You send back what you want to return. The returns are free.
1:46The shipping is free. No subscription is required. And you're going to get a free try-on for your first order.
1:53So get started today at stitchfix.com slash football. That's stitchfix.com slash football.
1:56Let's beat the waiver wire right now on Fantasy Football Today Express.
2:00We had a very fun mic check, everybody. And now we're going to bring it over here.
2:05Dave, who are you? Hey, everybody. We had a great time before we started recording.
2:10Too bad you couldn't have been there. But don't worry.
2:13We're here to help your fantasy teams by naming a guy that's going to help you in week nine.
2:19And now let's get to it. All right, Dave.
2:21Who's on the waiver wire quarterback that we want to be?
2:25I don't like starting at the positions. There's got to be one guy at the head of the list that everybody should go out and add.
2:33And I think that guy should be Caleb Douglas, who's 56% rostered.
2:36And yeah, he's already probably been picked up in your 12-team leagues.
2:40And maybe some of your 10-team leagues, he's still going to be widely available.
2:44But he's the one that I would go and stash.
2:47If I had one singular stash spot, he would be a Caleb Douglas wide receiver.
2:52Miami Dolphins should have had an even bigger game.
2:55And then what he had, if you want to learn more about that, read my – oh, what's it called now?
3:01It's like the week two starts and sits from Dave on CBS Sports.
3:05It used to have a name. And so I could just say, oh, go read lineup decisions.
3:10But we don't have a name for it anymore because SEO isn't a thing.
3:15Week two PPR cheat sheet? Nope. No? Okay. No, that's just – but that is a really good tool if you need
3:21to make a start or sit decision and you only have like 30 seconds.
3:26You go there. You look for the player who you want to start.
3:30It's sorted by game. And if whoever's number is higher is the player that I would start if I were you.
3:36Oh, is it Heath Cummings week two fantasy prediction?
3:39That's it. That's it. It's fantasy football lineup decisions.
3:42Toughest start sit calls. Oh, they actually have lineup decisions in the title this week.
3:46That's cool. All right. All right, Dave. So Caleb Douglas got it last week too.
3:51I don't know. Can we have – nobody's reading it anyway.
3:54Can we – Quarterbacks, you say? Yeah, yeah. All right.
3:57So there's two at the top of the list.
4:00And really, I want to try and keep these lists short and sweet like you because then we're able to just give
4:07people two, three players that they can go and pick up.
4:10It's not – if I give you eight names, it's not going to help you.
4:15If I give you eight quarterbacks, you're literally going to look at me like I'm an idiot as if you're not already.
4:21Bryce Young's at the top of the list. 48% rostered.
4:24He's actually a halfway decent start this week at Atlanta, although I don't have him as a top 12 guy.
4:30He's got Cleveland after that, Detroit after that, a bye after that.
4:34I would not start him on his bye. But if he can build off of what the Panthers did in week number
4:41one and that offensive line gets healthy, then maybe he ends up being a good fantasy quarterback after all.
4:47The other name on here is Jacoby Brissett. And I'm not starting Jacoby Brissett this week against Seattle.
4:52But I would consider him at San Francisco at week three, at the Giants after that, and Detroit after that.
4:58Okay. And he did well against Seattle last – pardon me – last year.
5:03So fifth or sixth most points of any quarterback against Seattle all season.
5:07Yeah. How about running back? Never that good here, but – No, and really with running backs, it's more about just picking
5:13up somebody and seeing what happens for a week.
5:16Because obviously if there was a running back that was going to be a starter, we would have picked him up already.
5:23So strictly stashed stuff here. And DeMond Claiborne makes sense.
5:2610% rostered. This could be the running back behind Aaron Jones for however long Jordan Mason is out.
5:31Now in my mind, I would think that DJ Dallas will be the third down back for the Vikings moving forward.
5:38And that means Claiborne is only going to take, I don't know, maybe like 25% of the snaps, 30% of the snaps.
5:45But Aaron Jones is literally 58 years old. So if something happens to him, DeMond Claiborne is next man up.
5:51So for very minimum, taking him and putting him on your bench for just week two doesn't seem like that big of a risk.
5:58If he doesn't do anything, then you can go ahead and drop him and pick up a different running back.
6:04But he's the one at the top of the list.
6:07The two other running backs that are, they're rostered in 50 plus percent of leagues.
6:12But I think they've got some interesting appeal. And it's different types of appeal, Adam.
6:16Number one is Tyje Spears with the Titans. And I talked about this with you.
6:21If Tennessee is going to have the same game script every week, Tyje Spears is going to play more than Tony Pollard.
6:28And then Emmitt Johnson with the Chiefs. We just saw this awesome game from Kenneth Walker III.
6:33We know what happens when Kenneth Walker III gets too many touches week in and week out.
6:38But wouldn't you like to have the backup running back behind Kenneth Walker III?
6:42It appears to be Emmitt Johnson, who didn't look bad himself.
6:46Both those guys between 50 and 55 percent roster ship right now on CBS Sports.
6:50Other names just to stash. Alvin Kamara. I know you've heard of him.
6:54Jonah Coleman. If you've already got him, great. Keep him.
6:57Deep League stash. Katron Allen with the commanders. He's 12 percent rostered.
7:01And then two IR stashes. You guys are morons.
7:04If you've got IR spots and you're not using them to put guys on the IR, just in case something happens three
7:11weeks from now, four weeks from now, James Conner, Adam Randall, two running backs available in 13 percent.
7:16Or not available. Yeah, available. What the hell am I saying?
7:19In 87 percent or more of CBS leagues. I've put James Conner in my IR.
7:24It might be a waste of time to do it, but I've got him on the IR in like seven of my leagues.
7:31So it just makes all the sense in the world to put him there, see what happens.
7:36Something goes wrong with Jeremiah Love or if James Conner gets healthy and then gets traded, oh, baby, you've got somebody that might actually help your fantasy team.
7:45And all you needed to do was just put him in an IR spot.
7:49I just added him, Adam Randall. Yeah, and that's the rookie running back behind Derrick Henry.
7:54Yeah. And Derrick Henry isn't quite as old as Aaron Jones, but he's older.
7:58And if anything were to happen to him, like, you know, he wins Powerball.
8:03We always say that instead of he gets hurt.
8:05Then Adam Randall would probably be the next man up, provided that he's healthy.
8:10I think there are two running backs that have an outside, outside chance of getting the starting job without an injury.
8:16And they are Christopher Brooks for Green Bay and K-Tron Allen for Washington.
8:20Allen, I see it. Chris Brooks, I don't. Well, I mean, look, it's Marshawn Loy goes out, has a bad game, something like that.
8:27Brooks is better, more efficient again. Yeah, but they acquired Caleb Johnson, and I know we're not big fans of Caleb Johnson,
8:34but if he somehow gets acclimated, listen, the Packers were fans of Caleb Johnson during the draft process.
8:40They see something in him. He does have some traits.
8:43And so I would imagine that if something were to happen to Marshawn Lloyd, Caleb Johnson would get an opportunity, and it wouldn't be the Chris Brooks show.
8:51So let's take a break. We'll be right back with wide receivers, tight ends, DSTs after this.
8:56How much time do we spend on this podcast talking about value?
9:00Value is everything in fantasy. And that's not a bad way to think about health care, too.
9:05If you're someone who feels like you're paying too much for health insurance or just don't love the value you're getting, you should know about WeShareHealth.
9:13WeShareHealth is a nonprofit alternative to health insurance, and their members pay up to 60% less than they would for traditional health insurance.
9:20Members have access to a nationwide PPO network with over 1 million physicians.
9:24In fact, there's a good chance your doctors are already in it.
9:28And how does unlimited telehealth sound? Pretty good value, right?
9:31If you're between jobs or self-employed, this could save you thousands of dollars a year.
9:36If this sounds interesting to you, take a few minutes to check it out.
9:40Call 1-888-WE-SHARE for a free quote. That's 1-888-WE-SHARE. Or check them out at WeShareHealth.org.
9:44Okay, wide receivers to add before everyone else does.
9:47I already mentioned Caleb Douglas. I got a long list, dude.
9:50I got a long list. No, no. You said short list.
9:54Yeah, I don't want to give you all the names on the list.
9:58Pick your top five. That's too many. I'm going to give you my top two.
10:02Three. Trey Harris, 9% roster. That means he's available in over 90% of leagues.
10:06We're not expecting Lad McConkie. I'm also not expecting Miracles.
10:10Haven't really been a Trey Harris guy. But he's fast.
10:13Might be able to catch a football. Justin Herbert's quarterback.
10:16Antonio Williams, probably the more intriguing option. 45% rostered, which means he's available in 55% of CBS Sports Leagues.
10:21Came alive in the fourth quarter for the Commanders last week after Chico Conquo got hurt.
10:26And he's a pretty solid receiver already. Plays a lot in the slot.
10:30Could be one of those guys where the floor is 10 or 11 PPR points per week.
10:36He just did significantly better than that in his debut.
10:39Okay. How about tight ends? If you need a tight end this week, I still think Michael Mayer's the guy.
10:45And this is assuming that Brock Bowers doesn't play.
10:47As of Thursday, Brock Bowers hasn't practiced. I would be shocked if Brock Bowers played this week knowing how big of a role he has for the Raiders.
10:56And the Raiders are 1-0. And if they can somehow get to 2-0 and start thinking like, hey, maybe we're going to
11:03be competitive this year, then they're going to want Brock Bowers to be ready to go at as close to 100% as he can be.
11:10And Michael Mayer is a really good replacement for him.
11:13They just paid him. So I think Michael Mayer, who's available in 67% of CBS Sports Leagues, is someone you could literally
11:20pick up off the waiver wire and drop right into your lineup.
11:24I like him better than Kelsey. I like him better than Mark Andrews.
11:28Name another tight end. I'll tell you whether or not I like him better or worse than Michael Mayer.
11:34Well, I think you've got to talk about Dalton Schultz in this segment here because he is literally the next name up.
11:40Yeah. So who do you like better? I guess Mayer.
11:43I like Mayer better this week. But if you're looking for a tight end that you might be able to use for
11:50multiple weeks because, I mean, Bowers is eventually going to come back.
11:54We don't know when Nico is going to come back.
11:57Seems like it's a short-term injury for Nico. Then Dalton Kincaid – or I'm sorry, Dalton Schultz would be that guy.
12:03And he's available in 46% of leagues. Hey, if Dalton Kincaid is on your waiver wire, you should probably pick him up.
12:10He was in one of my leagues or maybe two this past week.
12:14And then there is one more. I think Hunter Henry deserves at least a look, too.
12:19If you can't get your cloppies on Mayer or Schultz, then Hunter Henry, 44% available on CBS.
12:24We know that he was the security blankie for Drake May many a time last year.
12:29D-S-T is from D-A-V-E. Go ahead. I'm glad you didn't go with my initials there.
12:34The Chiefs DST is easily my favorite, and they're startable this week against Indianapolis.
12:38And then after that, they're at Miami, and they're at Las Vegas.
12:42I wonder if Mahomes is going to come over and hang out on Saturday before the game.
12:47I'll ask him. And if he does, I'll let you know.
12:50But the Chiefs defense is definitely at the top of the list.
12:54I think the Giants and the Panthers DSTs are also worth stashing.
12:58They're not necessarily great defenses. Although the Panthers just gave up 59 points to the Bears.
13:02But the Giants, 17% rostered, 83% available. I'm good at math.
13:06They're taking on the Titans. They don't score points.
13:09I'm still good at math. The Giants DST should be very good in Week 3.
13:13Panthers play at Cleveland in Week 3. If it's still Deshaun Watson for the Browns home opener, number one, you can probably get tickets for like $15.
13:21And number two, you should start the Panthers defense.
13:24They're going to be 92% available. You know, Dave, I'm just going to go ahead and check the tickets for the – it's what, Week 3, Cleveland?
13:32Yeah. Let's see. Would you go? If you were within a 90-minute drive of Cleveland.
13:37Not for $35 just to get in. No. That's too much.
13:40All right. You and I could go. Two tickets.
13:43Yeah, it's pretty – I mean, I'm not sitting up there.
13:46I mean, I don't know people with the team.
13:49We'd be able to go. $200. Oh, yeah. We'll ask Nathan.
13:53All right. See you guys. That's it for Beat the Waver Wire.
13:56Go get Caleb Douglas. Go read Dave's articles. And go enjoy your week.
14:00See you later on Fantasy Football Today. On podcasts.
