Aaron Jones

NegativeInjury12:10

Aaron Jones is dealing with a knee injury, but if he plays, he is considered an okay RB2 against Tampa Bay. There is significant uncertainty regarding his status, with DJ Dallas and DeMond Claiborne as potential backups.

Insight page
NegativeInjury33:41

Aaron Jones is a risky start for Week 3 as his status for the upcoming game is uncertain due to injury.

Insight page

Brock Bowers

PositiveProjection63:58

Brock Bowers is expected to return to form and dominate as a top-tier tight end now that his knee injury is resolved.

Insight page

Bryce Young

PositiveProjection53:21

Bryce Young is a recommended starter and a strong replacement option for managers missing Caleb Williams or Jaden Daniels; he is averaging 37.5 pass attempts per game in a new, effective offensive system.

Insight page

Bucky Irving

PositiveBreakout2:34

Bucky Irving could see a great situation in the Panthers backfield to replace Jonathan Brooks, as the Browns' run defense is good but not great.

Insight page

Christian Watson

PositiveProjection23:40

Christian Watson is a 'set it and forget it' starter for Week 3. With Jaden Reed out, Watson is expected to be the primary target for Jordan Love in a game where the Packers must throw.

Insight page

Chuba Hubbard

PositiveProjection0:45

Chuba Hubbard is a top-15 fantasy running back for Week 3 against Cleveland. He is expected to command 60-75% of the backfield touches, with potential for up to 90% given the lack of depth behind him.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

NegativeProjection30:53

Colston Loveland is considered the best of the Bears' pass-catchers in a difficult matchup against the Eagles with backup quarterback Case Keenum, though expectations remain low for the entire passing attack.

Insight page
NegativeBust69:09

Colston Loveland is a sit candidate due to poor performance and the transition to a backup quarterback against the Eagles. He should not be dropped, but he is not a recommended start.

Insight page

D.J. Moore

PositiveProjection27:12

DJ Moore is a WR2 for Week 3. He is the primary target in an increasingly aggressive Bills passing offense, provided he recovers from his shoulder injury.

Insight page
PositiveUsage27:15

DJ Moore is the clear number one target in the Buffalo Bills passing game and the best fantasy asset in that offense; he is currently dealing with a shoulder injury sustained last week but is expected to play.

Insight page

Dalton Schultz

PositiveUsage67:13

Dalton Schultz is a strong start coming off a 140-yard game and ranking second in targets among tight ends. With Nico Collins potentially out, Schultz is expected to dominate against a Colts defense he has historically performed well against.

Insight page

Darren Waller

PositiveSleeper70:02

Darren Waller is a sleeper start for week three, as he is expected to see red-zone opportunities against Cleveland.

Insight page

Deebo Samuel

PositiveRole34:13

Deebo Samuel is a strong start if Mike Evans is ruled out, as he could see an uptick in targets and has the potential to reach 16 PPR points in this matchup.

Insight page

Denzel Boston

PositiveSleeper42:35

Denzel Boston is a viable flex option as long as Deshaun Watson remains the starter; he has been a top-20 PPR receiver in each of the first two weeks.

Insight page

Deshaun Watson

PositiveSleeper60:38

Deshaun Watson is a sleeper start for week three. He has been efficient this season, averaging 8.5 yards per pass attempt, 76% completion rate, and 30 rushing yards per game. He is a preferred start over Justin Herbert.

Insight page

Dontayvion Wicks

PositiveSleeper45:21

Dontayvion Wicks is a recommended WR3 start against the Bears; he has recorded 12.4+ PPR points in each of the first two games and has seen 10 targets from Jalen Hurts.

Insight page

Drake London

PositiveProjection26:48

Drake London is a must-start WR2 (with WR1 upside) for Week 3. He has shown high production with Michael Penix, recording five games over 104 yards and six touchdowns in their last six outings.

Insight page

Drake Maye

NegativeValue59:14

Drake Maye is a sit for week three as the Patriots are prioritizing their defense and ground game. He is a potential buy-low candidate in two to three weeks when the schedule improves and AJ Brown returns.

Insight page

Emmett Johnson

PositiveSleeper10:11

Emmitt Johnson is a sleeper flex option for Week 3. He has been efficient in limited touches, averaging over 7 PPR points per game, and could see increased work against the Dolphins.

Insight page

Geno Smith

PositiveProjection62:39

Geno Smith is a recommended pivot play for week three against a Lions defense that has allowed the most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season.

Insight page

Harold Fannin

PositiveUsage68:48

Harold Fannin is a sit candidate as his target-per-route-run rate has fallen by 33% compared to last year with Deshaun Watson at quarterback.

Insight page

J.K. Dobbins

NegativeProjection8:25

J.K. Dobbins is ranked as the RB28 for Week 3. While he is the healthiest back in the Broncos' rotation, the matchup against the Rams is difficult, limiting his ceiling.

Insight page

Jake Ferguson

NegativeBust67:35

Jake Ferguson is a sit candidate for week three. He is touchdown-dependent, and Baltimore's defense has the personnel to neutralize him in the red zone.

Insight page

Jalen Coker

PositiveBreakout36:49

Jalen Coker is a top-24 wide receiver who is trending closer to top-12 status; he and teammate Ted O'McMillan are both seeing 8+ targets per game in a high-performing Panthers offense.

Insight page

Jameson Williams

NegativeBust38:53

Jameson Williams is a sit candidate this week; he is viewed as a boom-or-bust WR3, and the Lions are expected to rely on short-area targets to St. Brown, LaPorta, and Gibbs against a Jets defense that knows Goff's tendencies.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

PositiveUsage10:46

Jalen Warren is a high-end RB2 (top 15) if Rico Dowdle is inactive. Even with Dowdle active, Warren is a viable start in full PPR formats due to the Bengals' struggles defending pass-catching running backs.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

NegativeBust15:57

Jeremiah Love should be benched. He is playing only half the snaps and has produced only one explosive play this season, making him a risky start against a strong 49ers defense.

Insight page

Jordan Love

NegativeProjection48:59

Jordan Love is a borderline QB1 for Week 3; he benefits from a concentrated target share due to injuries in Green Bay, but concerns remain regarding the offensive line's health and the Falcons' pass rush.

Insight page

Josh Downs

PositiveUsage37:38

Josh Downs is a recommended WR2 start; he has established himself as the lead receiver for the Colts, evidenced by his 9-target, 7-catch performance against the Chiefs.

Insight page

Justin Herbert

NegativeBust57:11

Justin Herbert is a sit candidate. The offense is struggling with poor line play and supporting cast issues, and he is averaging only 200 passing yards per game with more interceptions than touchdowns. If he fails to perform in a 'get right' spot against Buffalo, he should be dropped from starting lineups.

Insight page

Juwan Johnson

PositiveUsage65:50

Juwan Johnson is a recommended start as he is a significant part of the Saints' passing offense, having recorded 10+ PPR points in each of the first two games.

Insight page

Keon Coleman

PositiveDepth Chart28:19

Keon Coleman is a viable replacement option for fantasy managers if DJ Moore is unable to play due to his shoulder injury.

Insight page

Khalil Shakir

NegativeValue28:25

Khalil Shakir is widely available on waiver wires and should be monitored as a potential depth option.

Insight page

Kyle Pitts

NegativeBust64:14

Kyle Pitts is a sit candidate for week three. He lacks a strong track record with Michael Penix, having only reached double-digit PPR points four times in 12 games together.

Insight page

Kyler Murray

PositiveProjection61:53

Kyler Murray is a strong start against Tampa Bay, especially if Aaron Jones is out, which would increase the reliance on the passing game. He has low-end QB1 upside for this matchup.

Insight page

Lamar Jackson

PositiveProjection46:57

Lamar Jackson remains a must-start quarterback regardless of Zay Flowers' injury status.

Insight page

Malik Washington

PositiveSleeper44:03

Malik Washington is a sleeper candidate with a 26% target share over the first two weeks; he is projected for 8-11 fantasy points, with potential for more if he finds the end zone.

Insight page

Mark Andrews

PositiveProjection66:57

Mark Andrews is a recommended start in a high-scoring game environment. His production is expected to remain stable regardless of Zay Flowers' status, as Flowers' absence would impact Rashad Bateman more.

Insight page

Matthew Golden

PositiveValue23:43

Matthew Golden is a viable WR2 for Week 3, especially in full PPR formats. He has explosive ability and is expected to see increased opportunities with Jaden Reed out.

Insight page
PositiveUsage71:52

Matthew Golden is a recommended flex start if Mike Evans is unable to play.

Insight page

Mike Evans

NegativeInjury33:43

Mike Evans is a high-upside play if active against Arizona, but his recurring injury issues throughout training camp and the season make him a difficult player to trust as a full-time participant.

Insight page

Parker Washington

NegativeUsage55:36

Parker Washington is expected to have opportunities to make plays because he should avoid being shadowed by Christian Gonzalez.

Insight page

Pat Freiermuth

PositiveSleeper70:06

Pat Freiermuth is a sleeper start against the Bengals, a team he has historically performed well against, averaging over 14 PPR points in his last 10 games against them.

Insight page

Patrick Mahomes

PositiveProjection47:18

Patrick Mahomes is a must-start fantasy quarterback; he has performed at a high level through two weeks and continues to produce big stat lines even in games with lower passing volume.

Insight page

Rashee Rice

NegativeProjection28:33

Rashee Rice is viewed as a WR3 option this week; while he has struggled early, he showed improvement against the Colts and has performed well on downfield targets, though the Chiefs' projected low pass volume (approx. 25 attempts) limits his ceiling.

Insight page

Rashod Bateman

PositiveProjection72:04

Rashad Bateman is a recommended start, especially if Zay Flowers is out.

Insight page

Rhamondre Stevenson

NegativeRole15:02

Ramondre Stevenson's role remains a 50-50 split with Trevion Henderson, though Stevenson continues to handle the majority of passing-down work. He is a sit candidate for Week 3 due to a tough matchup.

Insight page
PositiveProjection72:04

Rhamondre Stevenson is a recommended start in non-PPR formats.

Insight page

Rome Odunze

NegativeMatchup32:14

Rome Odunze is a sit candidate this week as he faces Eagles cornerback Quinyon Mitchell; he is unlikely to see more than two targets in a game where the Bears' passing offense is expected to struggle with Case Keenum.

Insight page

Tank Bigsby

PositiveValue7:03

Tank Bigsby is a flex-range option for Week 3 if Saquon Barkley is ruled out. He would split reps with Will Shipley, but faces a favorable matchup against the Bears' run defense.

Insight page

Terrance Ferguson

PositiveUsage70:23

Terrence Ferguson is a strong start if Puka Nacua is out, as he would serve as the number two option in the passing game and benefit from increased targets.

Insight page

Terry McLaurin

NegativeMatchup41:48

Terry McLaurin is a risky start against a tough Seattle defense that recently held the Cardinals to 95 passing yards; he remains a start in 3-WR leagues but is better viewed as a buy-low trade target after this week.

Insight page

Tony Pollard

PositiveSleeper21:32

Tony Pollard is a sleeper for Week 3 against the Giants. He is expected to see around 15 touches in a favorable game script and is a preferred start over the Packers' running backs.

Insight page

Trevor Lawrence

PositiveProjection55:05

Trevor Lawrence is a low-end starter and top-15 QB for week three. Despite a tough matchup against the Patriots, he is expected to carry the Jacksonville offense, and his home-field advantage provides upside for a multiple-touchdown game.

Insight page
NegativeProjection55:05

Trevor Lawrence is a low-end starter with upside; while the Patriots' defense has been solid, Lawrence represents a tougher challenge than their previous opponents, and Jacksonville is expected to throw the ball frequently.

Insight page

Tucker Kraft

PositiveUsage64:14

Tucker Kraft is a viable start due to his ability to secure short-area targets and his effectiveness after the catch, especially given Green Bay's offensive line and run game questions.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

NegativeInjury25:18

Zay Flowers is a top-10 wide receiver if active, but his status is uncertain due to injury. If he does not practice, he should be benched in favor of safer options like Christian Watson or Drake London.

0:00Welcome to Fantasy Football Today. I'm Jamie Eisenberg, that's Dave Richard, that's Heath Cummings.
0:03This is Fantasy Football Today, but we have a lot of injuries that we're getting ready for for week number three.
0:09And hopefully you'll have a healthy fantasy roster. Hopefully we'll have some healthy players to talk about and hopefully have some injury
0:14updates for you to set those lineups because there is a game tonight.
0:17Should be a fun one between the Packers and the Falcons.
0:20Alright guys, so let's just start where we start all the time, which is the running back position because this position is
0:26really beat up as they all are. Quarterback is the worst because of who we're missing.
0:30in terms of the star power not being there.
0:32But here's the list one through twelve. And thankfully we have a lot of the stars that we're used to seeing.
0:37B. John Robinson will play tonight against the Packers.
0:39But there is, I guess it's changed a little bit since what I was expecting to talk about with Bucky Irving.
0:45But let's talk about Chuba Hubbard because he's the start of the week and I'm excited to see what he's going to do.
0:50Do you guys share my optimism that Chuba is going to go off in this matchup against Cleveland?
0:55I worry about him going off. I do think he's going to be a very good running back.
0:59And what have we seen from the Panthers for the first two weeks?
1:03of the season? They like to throw the ball.
1:05They're putting it in there. Now they had to do it week one.
1:08They did not have to do it much in week two.
1:11They did it anyway against Atlanta. And I don't know if that's just because the Falcons defense is better than expected.
1:16I do think this Browns defense is actually pretty good.
1:18But one way to move the chains on them is on the ground.
1:22So I do think Chuba Hubbard at minimum is a top 15 type of fantasy running back.
1:26I agree 100% that he has a start. I think it's how many running back touches are going to be available.
1:31And there's the difference between is he an RB1 or an RB2.
1:34But he's going to get probably 60 to 75% of those touches.
1:37So it should be a good day. Might get 90%.
1:40I mean, how much do they trust AJ Dillon?
1:42Or are they going to, you know, bring Austin Eckler out of cobwebs and use him?
1:46It doesn't sound like it. But they don't have a lot of depth of the position.
1:50Trevor Achan is on IR. So we'll see what the Panthers do to replace Jonathan Brooks.
1:54Could be a great situation for Bucky Irvin. This Browns run defense has been good, just not great.
1:58And hopefully this is the first time that they give up a touchdown to a running back so far this season.
2:04All right, let's show you the list 13 through 24 and talk about some guys here that are dealing with some injuries or some questionable situations.
2:10And one of those guys would be Travis Achan, who's banged up a little bit now dealing with an ankle injury.
2:15So we're going to see a lot of players get picked up at various positions.
2:19Aaron Jones, we'll talk about a little bit. He's banged up now with a knee injury.
2:23We got the Steelers situation with Jalen Warren and Enrico Dattel.
2:26They're banged up. But Heath, when you look at the Saints backfield, it has not been easy to sort of say, OK,
2:31we thought this is going to be the Travis Achan show, and it's not.
2:35Are we concerned about him playing? If he does play, are we going to start him against the Raiders?
2:39As of right now, I think we're expecting him to play.
2:42And you may have to start him. It's kind of how it is.
2:45It's not somebody I want to start. The role could not have been much worse through the first two weeks.
2:50We don't have Alvin Kamara in week one, and for some reason, Kendra Miller is actively involved.
2:55Kamara comes back. He gets both more rush attempts and more targets than Travis Achan.
2:58Maybe part of the reason was because of this being a little bit dinged up.
3:02He is the most borderline RB2 that you can find.
3:05It's unlikely you're going to find somebody on the waiver wire this week that you'd want to start over him.
3:10Hopefully you have somebody on your bench. If Kamara plays, are you starting?
3:13If Kamara plays and Achan doesn't? No. OK, so we'll see what happens there just from the Saints perspective.
3:18Dave, Cam Scadaboo, not the best start so far to the season for him, mostly from a usage standpoint.
3:22You know, did have 18 for 81 and a score in week one, but no catches.
3:26Got four catches last week against the Rams. The quarterback situation now is clearly a mess for the Giants because they lose Jackson Dart.
3:32Is Cam Scadaboo safe this week against Titans? I like the matchup, and that's enough to go with Cam Scadaboo.
3:37I don't love the fact that he's sharing as much as he's sharing, but I do believe that he will be the
3:43short yardage goal line guy when it's not the two-minute drill.
3:45And I think that he's going to lead this team in touches.
3:48So it's a little bit leaning in the same direction as Travis Achan, but I think the offensive line is a little
3:54bit better in New York than it is in New Orleans, and I think the opportunities will be there for him.
3:59I'm cool with Scadaboo as a top 20 running back.
4:02All right, so hopefully he delivers, maybe can be the catalyst of the Giants offense while they are banged up.
4:07Malik Nabar is also dealing with a shoulder injury as well.
4:09Let's show you the list, 25 through 36, and we'll get into some starts and sits that we like as well as
4:15some sleepers and some more injury situations that we're monitoring here.
4:18And you see a name on this list that we're not used to seeing in the top 30, which is Tank Bigsby.
4:23So we have the situation with Saquon Barkley. We don't have any information.
4:26We'll hopefully get some today because they play on Monday night against the Bears.
4:30So, Dave, how are you approaching the Eagles backfield Barkley in, Barkley out?
4:33What do we do about Bigsby if he's a starter?
4:36I think Bigsby is in the flex range if there is no Saquon Barkley this week.
4:40We know he's going to split reps. Will Shipley will handle passing downs.
4:43Bigsby will do the rest. The Chicago run defense hasn't been amazing this year.
4:46You just saw what 32-year-old Aaron Jones did to them in week number two.
4:50So I think that there's a real good opportunity for Bigsby in the event that he ends up starting slash Saquon Barkley is out.
4:56Of course, if Barkley plays, Bigsby will probably be on the waiver wire pretty quickly.
4:59Heath, you saw on the list the Broncos running back started to come into play here, and we thought, okay, maybe J.K.
5:05Dobbins, R.J. Harvey out. It's the Jonah Coleman show.
5:07We get to Wednesday's practice. Jonah Coleman's now hurt.
5:09Harvey looks like he's trending in the right direction.
5:12J.K. Dobbins looks like he's going to be fine.
5:14So how do you look at the Broncos backfield in the tough matchup against the Rams?
5:18Yeah, our waiver wire ad is the most injured guy in the backfield, and the healthiest guy in the backfield is J.K.
5:23Dobbins. Right next to Tank Bigsby if Saquon Barkley's out.
5:26So I've got him two spots ahead right now, RB 28.
5:29That's Dobbins. That's Dobbins. That's without Harvey, but I don't know how much that really matters.
5:33Harvey's going to do some things that Dobbins doesn't really do anyways.
5:36I do think if Harvey is cleared, he's also a flex because unlike the Tank Bigsby situation where I think they're going
5:41up against a bad defense in the Bears, this team's going up against the Rams.
5:45I don't think they have a lot of success running the ball, so maybe that's a few more dump-offs to R.J.
5:50Harvey if he's healthy. Yep, and just don't give up on Jonah Coleman yet.
5:54Even if he's hurt, it's going to be something that we said at the beginning of the season, long-term because of Dobbins
5:59and how he typically gets banged up throughout the course of the season.
6:02All right, let's show you just one more list, 37 through 48, because we do have some flex options that could be
6:08available to you or in the case of some of these situations, some desperation plays.
6:11I like Emmitt Johnson as a potential flex just because the Chiefs are 10.5-point favorites on the road, and we could see
6:17Emmitt Johnson, who's gotten off to a good start so far, averaging over 7 PPR points per game, could be helpful for fantasy managers.
6:23Jadarian Price, it will be somebody that will certainly rise up the rankings if he's cleared to play.
6:27We are expecting him at this point to be good to go, so hopefully Jadarian Price borderline number two running back.
6:33All right, let's talk about some starts and sets I already gave you mine, which is Chuba Hubbard, who's the start of the week.
6:39He's like Jalen Warren, so let's just break it down here.
6:41Warren, with Rico Dowdle or without Rico Dowdle, how are you approaching the Steelers against the Bengals?
6:46So I think either way I'm viewing Jalen Warren as an RB2, which might sound strange because this is a good Bengals
6:51run defense, and the Steelers should be playing from behind, but the Bengals have allowed the most receptions to running backs through the first two weeks.
6:58They weren't good against pass-catching running backs last year.
7:00The Steelers can't run the ball a lick no matter who it is, so they're probably going to use dump-offs to Warren,
7:05and if Dowdle's there, Dowdle, as their run game.
7:08I would view Warren as a high-end RB2, probably a top 15 running back if there's no Dowdle.
7:12If Dowdle's active, Warren's going to be in that 20-22 range, but I think even with Dowdle, I'd start Warren over Travis H.
7:18Shannon in full PPR. Okay, so we'll see how this practice reports go.
7:21Actually, both missed practice on Wednesday, but Rico Dowdle was in a walking boot, so not looking good for him with the toe injury.
7:27All right, your start is a little bit questionable here because he's questionable himself.
7:30It sounded like he's not going to play this week, so Aaron Jones, with a knee injury, you're still confident in starting.
7:36Tell me why you think he's not going to start this week, because Kevin O'Connell said that he was looking pretty good or feeling pretty good on Wednesday.
7:43They're going to see where he goes. It sounded to me as if, like, he's got a knee injury.
7:48We're making contingency plans. All the beat writers were suggesting we could see Jerome Ford get activated.
7:52DJ Dallas has got a toe injury. I mean, listen, so just full disclosure, I write two different versions of start-sit.
7:57One, just the positions, and then one, the whole full-length column.
8:00I pulled Aaron Jones from the column because I don't think he's going to play.
8:04Do you think then, all right, so... I think that DJ Dallas is everywhere.
8:07Right. But I don't know if he's going to be a feature back here for Minnesota.
8:11I think they'll probably mix him in with DeMond Claiborne.
8:14Well, let me have Jones as a starter, so let's assume he starts.
8:17Well, long story short, he's going to be the lead back for them.
8:20Sure. Even if he's not at 100%, he proved it last week.
8:23He looked very, very good in this matchup against...
8:25Who do they have this week? Why am I blaming on it?
8:28It's Tampa Bay. It's not the best matchup, but you saw Cincinnati get some numbers against them in week number one.
8:33Cleveland, their run game isn't very good to begin with.
8:36I think that we can see Aaron Jones be an okay number two running back if he plays.
8:40If he doesn't play, I don't know how good I feel about trusting DJ Dallas or DeMond Claiborne.
8:45Totally. These are guys I'd probably say to the side.
8:47So my fingers are crossed that Aaron Jones plays against the Bucs.
8:50All right, so we'll see what happens with Jones again.
8:53Hopefully get a practice report before the end of the show, but continue to check CBSSports.com for the latest news on Jones.
8:58Let's talk about some sit running backs here. Ramondre Stevenson, did he get replaced?
9:02Is it the Trevion Henderson show or is this just a matchup thing?
9:05I would put Trevion Henderson on the sit list as well.
9:08So I don't think we can say that Stevenson got replaced.
9:11We saw a couple of times last year where it kind of looked like things were going to Trevion Henderson and then
9:16all of a sudden here comes Ramondre Stevenson playing 60% of the snaps again.
9:20And so maybe it was just a one-week punishment.
9:22I think it was interesting even within that time where they were giving most of the snaps to Henderson, if they had
9:27an important passing down, it was still Ramondre Stevenson on the field.
9:30This looks to me like, once again, that unknown, it's not going to be 50-50 every week, but we kind of have
9:36to project it at 50-50 unless we get a Stevenson fumble or we get another Henderson house call.
9:40And then I think it could really be moving in the direction of Trevion Henderson on early downs or Ramondre Stevenson on passing downs.
9:46And it's a tough matchup too. Look, Jacksonville gave up a touchdown to Jonah Coleman.
9:50But this is a really good run defense, as we saw based on last season.
9:54All right, you're still staying away from Jeremiah Love and just fantasy managers.
9:57What should they do at this point with a guy that was at worst probably a third-round pick, but we just can't start him right now.
10:03I'm shocked that he still started in 77% of CBS Leagues.
10:06Jamie, he's very talented. One of the things I really liked about him was his explosion rate.
10:10He has one explosive play so far this season, and he's playing about half the snaps.
10:14So these are all problematic. You look at what the 49ers have done.
10:18Blake Corm is the only running back to get more than 3.8 yards per carry against San Francisco this year.
10:23That run defense, while they're healthy, they're good. So it makes me nervous to trust Jeremiah Love in a game where chances
10:28are Arizona's going to be playing from behind. That means not a lot of touches for Love.
10:32Play him more. Let's just see him out there.
10:35This Tyler Algier thing is just so frustrating at this point.
10:37So, yes, I think we're all in agreement. Stay away from Jeremiah Love at least for one more week.
10:42I'm going to try and sit Bachel Toot, and it's tough because he is the lead running back for the Jaguars, but
10:47he feels very much like a trap back in a very tough matchup.
10:51In Milton Williams' last 14 games, they've only allowed two touchdowns to running backs, and that's not what I think we're going to have from Bachel Toot.
10:57And you got lucky last week that he got the direct snap and he scored, but we're going to see Chris Rodriguez down there.
11:03Last time they were in the red zone, or last week at least, it was Rodriguez down there.
11:08He's not working in the passing game, and so this Patriots run defense is good.
11:12The scenario is not great. I love what our colleague Pete Prisco said.
11:15Give him more work. Let's just see what he can do because he's so explosive.
11:19This is just not the game where I think he's a must-start running back, more of a flex.
11:23They talked about giving him more work in the passing game this week.
11:26Their offensive coordinator did, so I'd love to see it.
11:29If he has a bad game this week, he's a terrific buy-low candidate.
11:32Totally. And listen, they'll throw to him on first and second down.
11:35That would be the hope. On third downs, we just know that they play LeQuint Allen, who came back last week after missing week one.
11:41All right, I alluded to this as a guy that I like as a sleeper.
11:45You like Emmitt Johnson as a sleeper this week.
11:47Yeah, I've been moving him up the rankings and tend on doing it some more.
11:51I think you just look at this game where the Chiefs are 11-and-a-half point favorites.
11:55The Dolphins have looked every bit the part of the worst team in football through the first two weeks.
11:59Kenneth Walkenwright play a half. Emmitt Johnson, at the very least, unless he's just too important to them, should have a quarter's
12:05worth of play where he's getting touches. He's got four passes on the year, broken three tackles on those four receptions.
12:10Wow. Has just been incredible in space. And if you give him 12 touches against this Dolphins team, which honestly the Chiefs probably need to do anyways.
12:17Kenneth Walker's on pace right now for 476 touches.
12:19They've talked about this. We need to even that split up just a little bit.
12:23Emmitt Johnson could be a starter. So I'm totally with you.
12:26You see where I have him ranked. I did the same thing with Kalon Black last week.
12:30I just want to caution. I thought the same thing.
12:32Dolphins think backup looked really good. Just didn't come to fruition.
12:35But maybe that was because Black was a little bit banged up.
12:38I think Emmitt Johnson, though, could be a great sneaky option if you're stuck with a lot of the running back injuries.
12:44For example, like Kevin Johnson versus DJ Dallas, if there's no Aaron Jones, like that's what we're talking about for somebody like that.
12:49You like Tony Pollard as a sleeper, which is interesting.
12:52This is a favorable game script that I think is coming for Tennessee against the Giants.
12:56I don't see the Giants pulling away from this one.
12:58I think the Titans can stay competitive in this game.
13:01And look, the Giants played on Monday. They got beat up on the ground.
13:04I would start Tony Pollard this week ahead of the Packers running backs on Thursday night against Atlanta.
13:09I think there's going to be opportunities for him to get around 15 touches.
13:12Not saying that he's going to be amazing, but he could fall into the end zone, average four yards per carry along the way.
13:18Give us kind of a throwback to what we saw from Pollard at the end of last year.
13:23It would be nice to see another situation where both guys mispractice on Wednesday, although for the Titans guys, both Pollard and
13:28Tyje Spears, they're dealing with, I wanted to say Tyje Sharp, with Tyje Spears.
13:32I remember that guy. They're dealing with soreness, so hopefully it's okay for both of those running backs.
13:36For me, I like Rashad White. I like what I saw from him last week.
13:40Six catches, 40 yards on six targets. We're going to see this team most likely chasing points.
13:44It's a brutal defense. Seattle's obviously great, but I think this is not a great game for Ja'Kory Krosky-Merritt.
13:49This should be a game where Rashad White's helping Marcus Mariota.
13:52So not a bad flex play if you're looking for some help in PPR.
13:55All right, we're going to take a break. When we come back, I'm going to get into some wide receiver rankings, tell
14:01you about a lot of injuries once again, and some injury replacements.
14:04That's next on Fantasy Football Today. Welcome back to Fantasy Football Today.
14:07We're talking wide receiver rankings here for week three, and lots of injuries that we're dealing with once again at this position.
14:12Let's show you the rank list, one through 12, and we'll start with a guy that we don't usually see on here,
14:18but we might for the rest of the season.
14:20That's a guy playing tonight in Christian Watson. A set it and forget it.
14:23With Watson, you could also factor in Matthew Golden now because we know Jaden Reed is not going to play in the game tonight against the Falcons.
14:30For Watson, it's definitely set it or forget it.
14:32He's earned it, not just from what we saw last season, but through the first two games of this season.
14:37This Packers team has to throw the ball because they can't run it very well.
14:41This Atlanta front is actually not bad at getting to the quarterback.
14:44It's going to mean shorter throws for Jordan Love, and Christian Watson can just get those slants and dig routes and go
14:49off to the races, and we've already seen him do that this season.
14:53Matthew Golden's also in play as a number two fantasy wide receiver.
14:56I like him better in full PPR than half a nine, but he does have explosive ability.
15:00We didn't see it in the stats last week, but he drew two crucial pass interference calls on downfield throws against the
15:05Jets in week number two, and that makes me feel good about his role and the chances that he might have, even
15:11against Atlanta with their battered secondary on Thursday night.
15:13No A.J. Terrell, so that should hopefully help out both of those guys.
15:16Heath, we see Zay Flowers as a number one receiver.
15:19I dropped him just because of the concern and thinking about if I have to play Matthew Golden or Christian Watson tonight.
15:24Clearly, he's a top ten wide receiver if he does play.
15:27What's the approach now for Zay Flowers, which we may get a practice report before the end of the show.
15:32That's going to be the key for me. If he doesn't practice today, then I think you have to start Watson over him.
15:38You have to start London over him. You have to start Golden over him.
15:41If he's a partial, you're probably still going to start Watson and London over him just to be safe.
15:46But if Zay Flowers is on the field on Sunday, you're going to have to go find somebody else to pinch because you're going to start Zay Flowers.
15:53Yeah, let's just hope that there's no setback here.
15:55And last week we got him back at practice on Friday and then they ruled him doubtful for the game.
16:00So let's see what happens. And clearly, if he makes the trip to Brazil, that would be a good sign as well.
16:06Let's show you the rank list 13 through 24.
16:08Some more injury concerns or maybe concerns about other situations, meaning Drake London gets his quarterback back tonight as the Falcons take on the Packers.
16:14And this is what Drake London has done in his last six games with Michael Penix.
16:18Five games over 110 yards. Excuse me, five games over 104 yards with one, two, three, six touchdowns.
16:23He's pretty good when he got Michael Penix. So Drake London, I think we're all going to say start him at least as a number two receiver.
16:29We may regret not saying start him as a number one receiver.
16:32But Dave, we got DJ Moore also on this list.
16:35He's trying to come back from last week's shoulder injury.
16:37Remember they played last Thursday, so a little bit of extra time for him.
16:41Practice on Wednesday in a non-contact jersey. Is it just DJ Moore plays, DJ Moore starts?
16:45Number two fantasy wide receiver. Looks like the number one target for this Buffalo Bills passing game.
16:49It looks like they're throwing the ball more and being more aggressive overall on offense.
16:53I'm going to want pieces of this offense. Moore's the best one in the passing game.
16:57All right, so let's hope that DJ Moore is 100%.
16:59Keon Coleman also got banged up, so that could be a replacement option just in case Moore doesn't play and Keon Coleman does.
17:05There's also Khalil Shakir, so keep an eye on your waiver wire because Coleman and Shakir are available in a lot of leagues.
17:11Let's look at the rank list 25 through 36.
17:13And a guy we weren't expecting to see on this list is on this list, and that's Rashi Rice, who has not
17:18had the greatest start so far to the season, Heath.
17:21But I thought he looked better against the Colts.
17:23And you mentioned this. Like, we could see the Chiefs do whatever they want maybe in the run game, but maybe also in the passing game.
17:30I'm kind of going with the hope of, let's get Rashi Rice going, but I don't think collectively we feel the same way.
17:35He's a number three wide receiver. It's so strange how much he's changed from this offseason.
17:39Like, we were concerned, some of us more than others, about him losing those short area targets to Kenneth Walker.
17:44That's happened. He's actually performed pretty well on the downfield targets when he's received them.
17:48I thought a couple of the in-breaking routes he looked pretty good on.
17:51So I'm optimistic. I just think he's a number three wide receiver in a game where the Chiefs might throw 25 passes.
17:57It's a very fair point. And look, you're going to see sometimes when you go to set your lineup, depending on what
18:02site you're playing on, what the opposing rank is for the position.
18:05The Dolphins have not been tested yet. So we've seen Kirk Cousins throw three touchdowns.
18:09We saw last week that Brock Purdy threw two and ran for one.
18:12They're just not challenging from their receiver standpoint. I think if Mike Evans was healthy, he has a better game last week.
18:18So Rice is sort of in this, you know, I think range of wide receivers where if you need to start him, you're starting him.
18:24If you have other options like Parker Washington or Jalen Coker or even Josh Downs.
18:28What about the Packers guys? The Packers guys. They're in better spots.
18:31So, you know, you can go a different route than Rashi Rice if you want to pivot off him.
18:35So let's show the next list of wide receivers, 37 through 48.
18:38And this is where we start to get into a big question because of the Bears receivers.
18:43And so we know that it's not great right now because Caleb Williams not expected to play Monday night against the Eagles.
18:48Keith, you can piggyback off what Dave is about to say because you have Luther Burden as a sit.
18:53But Dave, how are we approaching? You can throw Colston Lovlin in there as well.
18:57How are we approaching the Bears passing game with the backup quarterback?
19:00It's a 38-year-old Case Keenum, third string quarterback. I think he was there to kind of help coach and not play.
19:05And now here he is playing against the Philadelphia Eagles defense with two of the best defensive tackles in football, a great outside corner.
19:11I am nervous. I do think the one benefit to having Keenum there is that he'll play on time and he won't
19:16scramble around like we've seen Caleb Williams do. And when Williams is running around, he's not going to the first read.
19:21He's not throwing to these premier players in the passing game.
19:24But I don't think the balls are going to be downfield very much.
19:27You're going to see a lot of short throws.
19:30I'm not really optimistic on Colston Lovlin, but I think he's the best of the three.
19:34I am especially pessimistic on Romo Dunze because he'll see Quinjon Mitchell in coverage.
19:37That's somebody who runs downfield so much on the perimeter might not get more than two targets in the game.
19:42Yeah, I hope that Keenum sees things the way that Baygent did because Baygent just came into the game and it was Luther Burden, Luther Burden, Luther Burden.
19:49And so if we get that, then that will give us optimism for next week.
19:53But we're talking about a guy that hasn't, not start, hasn't appeared in a football game since December of 2023 going up
19:58against the Philadelphia Eagles defense and his first time back.
20:01I'm out. And the defense has struggled last week.
20:03I mean, you know, the Titans actually moved the ball against this defense.
20:06So maybe they're a little bit angry and take it out on Case Keenum and the Bears.
20:11So easy to avoid the Bears for at least this week.
20:13But let's see if there is reason for optimism, especially if Caleb Williams can return soon.
20:17Let's get into the starts and sits. And Dave, you're being really risky this week.
20:21You got Aaron Jones as a starting running back.
20:23He may not play. You got Mike Evans as a starting wide receiver.
20:26He may not play either. If he plays, though, I love the matchup against Arizona.
20:30I mean, obviously, JSN and Vlad McConkie, different types of wide receivers at this point in their careers compared to Mike Evans.
20:36But I always think that whenever Mike Evans plays, he's a candidate to score no matter who he goes up against.
20:41But if it's against Arizona, then certainly there's going to be huge opportunities.
20:44We know that Purdy's been playing great. We know that Demarcus Robinson, not going to play.
20:48He was hurt last week. He was out there, finds the end zone, gets around five catches on top of it.
20:53If Evans is out, do you slide Debo Samuel?
20:56I think absolutely you slide Debo Samuel. And he's probably, like, he compares just his role a little bit more favorably to
21:01what JSN and certainly what Vlad McConkie do. And if there's going to be an uptick in targets because Evans isn't there,
21:07then yeah, you could see Debo Samuel as a number two receiver and maybe a candidate for 16 PPR points this week.
21:12I just have a hard time, and listen, I was the skeptical guy about Mike Evans coming into the year.
21:17But we went through training camp, and every three days it was a new muscle group that was sore or tight, or
21:23I'm not going to practice for a couple of days.
21:25He's played two games. One of them he left early because something didn't feel right.
21:29I have a hard time, like, trusting him that he's going to be a full-time player even if he's active and that
21:34he's going to play the full game. In a game that they should win.
21:38Easily. Yeah, right. So that'd be my concern also is, like, do you get the...
21:41Because he probably could have gutted through last week if he's saying that he feels okay, but they're winning so easily, does he go out there?
21:48Like, if I'm the 49ers, I'm approaching it like, you know, you never want to take a team for granted.
21:53Of course not. Especially division rivals. This is not one I want to push Mike Evans when I want him for December
21:58and January when you could probably just beat the Cardinals again, in theory, with or without him.
22:03But we hope to see him out there. For me, as at least a number three receiver, but we'd like to see the best of Mike Evans.
22:09All right, Heath, you got Jalen Coker as a starter this week.
22:12He's just been awesome through the first two weeks.
22:15Yeah, and I think he's probably obvious as a top 24 guy, but I think he's closer to 12 than he is to 24.
22:21The way this Panthers offense has functioned through the first two weeks can absolutely sustain Ted O'McMillan and Jalen Coker as both
22:26top 15 wide receivers, as long as Bryce Young keeps playing this way well.
22:30And I think it's kind of debatable within a given week whether you want to rate Coker or Ted O'McMillan higher.
22:35I would expect Coker to possibly see more work in the red zone and has more big play ability, but they're both
22:40just seeing eight plus targets a week and producing.
22:42This offense has produced the second most explosive plays in the passing game behind only Josh Allen on the Bills.
22:47It's been fun to watch and hopefully continues. The Browns defense looked much better last week, but I think as we talked
22:53about on our podcast this morning, you said, and I agree, more about the Bucs offense than the Browns defense.
22:58I'm excited to see Josh Downs. Look, this is the kind of role we talked about when Alec Pierce was dealing with the injury in the offseason.
23:05He's going to be the lead receiver for the Colts, and we saw it against the Chiefs, then nine targets, seven catches, 72 yards.
23:11I know this Texans defense is much better than what they've shown, but they've been beaten up by every wide receiver that's
23:16played against them so far for Buffalo and Cincinnati.
23:18Vastly different types of players, but I think Josh Downs is going to get peppered with targets, and we love the opportunity for him.
23:24We'll see what Darius Slayton does, so they just signed.
23:27We'll see what Keenan Allen does, but I think this is a great chance to use Josh Downs as, for me, a number two wide receiver.
23:33Let's talk about some sit receivers, Dave. You got Jamison Williams as someone you want to avoid this week.
23:38I'd rather start Downs, who honestly should have had a better game than what he had in week number two, and Jamison
23:44Williams, he could have had a really good game in week one, kind of an afterthought in week two, which is crazy
23:49when you think about all the points that the Lions put up against Buffalo, and now it's the Jets, and I think
23:54there is a little bit of an advantage for the Jets here because Aaron Glenn, used to be on the Lions staff,
24:00has game planned against Jared Goff in practice many, many times, knows what his weaknesses are.
24:04I think this is a game where Jared Goff can just get rid of the ball quickly, keep it short to St.
24:09Brown, Sam Laporte, Jameer Gibbs, and not really take too many downfield shots at Jamison Williams.
24:13Heath has said it a hundred times when we've talked about Jameau.
24:16He is a boomer bus number three wide receiver, and that's where he is.
24:20He's a number three wide receiver, but I can find some other wide receivers that I like better than Jamison Williams this
24:25week, so I would try and stay away from him if I could.
24:29At some point, he's going to go off. You know, just make sure that you understand if you put him on your
24:34bench for some other wide receivers, you know, Denzel Boston will come into conversation.
24:38Trey Tucker will come into the conversation. I'd start him over those guys.
24:41No, I'm not disagreeing with you, but I'm just saying, you know, fantasy managers looking at what those guys have done or
24:46at least did last week and then what Jamison Williams has not done so far, so there's going to be a week
24:52where he goes nuts, and last time he was at home, he had nine targets.
24:56We'll see if he does take advantage of this jet secondary, but I think we're all in agreement more of a number three wide receiver for this week.
25:02Heath, I'm not forgetting about you. We already talked about Luther Byrd, and I did that once already so far this season.
25:08Let's move on to Terry McLaurin, who actually has a good history with Marcus Merida last year.
25:12Five starts together, three of those games, he was over 14 PPR points, but you're just looking at the Seattle defense and how good they are.
25:19They just held the Cardinals to 95 passing yards.
25:21This is not the week to say I'm going all in on Terry McLaurin, even Stephon Diggs.
25:25I think we all like Diggs better at this point.
25:28Especially this week because he'll get open a little bit quicker.
25:30Yep, yep. Those underneath throws will be there for Diggs more than McLaurin.
25:34Three receiver leagues, you can still start McLaurin, but nine targets last week was encouraging.
25:37We'll just see how this all looks with Mariota for the foreseeable.
25:40He's a buy low after this week too. Assuming that he doesn't have a big game, McLaurin does, I wouldn't mind trying to trade for him.
25:47Schedule gets a little bit lighter for them, but just Seattle, a team we would like to avoid facing.
25:52Let's talk about some sleepers and maybe some replacement options that can help fantasy managers.
25:55Davey got Denzel Boston as somebody that we're hoping to see go be productive for at least three weeks in a row.
26:01Three for three, right? He's been a top 20 receiver in PPR points each of the first two weeks.
26:06Week one was fluky. We can all agree with that.
26:08The garbage time touchdown. Week two, far less fluky.
26:10And I doubt the Browns run away with this one.
26:13I think it's going to be much more of a competitive game against Carolina.
26:16I think Boston's still going to get those opportunities.
26:18So however long Deshaun Watson's the quarterback, I'm going to be in on Denzel Boston as at least a flex.
26:23Once it's Shadur Sanders, all bets are off because Shadur Sanders not as good of a passer downfield, at least he wasn't last year.
26:29But Denzel Boston has really carved out a nice role for him in this Cleveland offense.
26:33You're crazy, man. You're going with a dolphin. You're going with a dolphin.
26:37It's a sleeper. I mean, Dave's sleeper was just the number one waiver wire at a wide receiver.
26:41Everybody knows about him. I'm going with the sleeper.
26:43It's Malik Washington. 26% target share in the first two weeks of the season.
26:47Now Caleb Douglas is gone. He might have a 33% target share this week against the Chiefs.
26:51They're going to have to throw a little bit more.
26:54He might score 10 fantasy points or 11. Maybe even 12.
26:56I get you in that neighborhood. He gets in that neighborhood pretty much every week.
27:00Somewhere between 8 and 11, I would say. But that's without a touchdown.
27:03What if he scores a touchdown? Well, now that's crazy.
27:06What if the dolphin scores a touchdown? That's what I'm saying.
27:09Listen, I like the call because he could benefit a lot.
27:11Although he's been... Malik Washington Island. You are on Malik Washington Island.
27:14We don't go past 48, so that's why you don't see the number there for us.
27:18Sports line, they'll struggle with the 79 ranking there.
27:21I'm going to go with Dontavian Wicks and we get an opportunity with no Dallas Goddard.
27:24We'll see what their tight end situation looks like.
27:27This is an opportunity against a bad Bears defense.
27:29Wicks has been 12.4 PPR points or more each of the first two games.
27:3210 targets, so he's a guy that we've seen Jalen Hurts lean on.
27:36At some point, Makai Lemon, I hope, will take over and become more of that second or third option depending when Dallas Goddard's back.
27:42But Dontavian Wicks could be a nice third wide receiver for you if you need to start somebody this week in this matchup against the Chicago Bears.
27:48All right, we're going to take a break right now.
27:51We come back and get into quarterbacks and what do you do to replace Caleb Williams, Jaden Daniels, Jackson Dart?
27:56We'll have that answer for you next year on FFT.
27:58Welcome back to Fantasy Football Today. We're talking about quarterbacks, quarterbacks, third wide receivers.
28:02I have some wide receiver updates for you. We got Nico Collins not practicing on Thursday.
28:06Does not sound good for him. Does not seem like Pukunikua is going to play but we'll wait for an update.
28:11Hopefully he'll practice at some point today and we're still waiting for a Zay Flowers update will impact Lamar Jackson who you
28:17will see on this screen right now as we show you the list one through 12.
28:21We are still confident in Lamar Jackson, right? We're still starting Lamar no matter if Zay Flowers or not.
28:25Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, he's one spot too high because Brock Purdy's QB2 but other than that, oh man.
28:30All right, so we'll see where we slot Lamar Jackson based on how Zay Flowers and what his practice report is but
28:36you know who's now a top 12 quarterback once again?
28:38Patrick Mahomes. So Dave, you were very confident in Mahomes playing at a high level coming into the season.
28:43You haven't ranked as a top 12 guy but he was close for you.
28:46I was drafting him late in every league. Yeah, and now you're reaping the benefits.
28:50He looks awesome so far through the first two weeks which is Kansas City can use this game.
28:55Obviously they want to win it but maybe as a little bit of like a preseason type mindset where they try and
29:00get other elements of their offense going. If they struggle with those other elements they just go back to what's been working
29:06which is hand off to Kenneth Walker, throw to Kenneth Walker, throw to Travis Kelsey, occasional shots in the red zone for
29:11Patrick Mahomes to score touchdowns and the end result is a big fantasy stat line.
29:15We're at the point again where Patrick Mahomes is a must start fantasy quarterback even in a game where he might not throw 30 times.
29:21I was just thinking September game in Miami. It's going to be hilarious.
29:24That's supposed to be cool this weekend. Is it supposed to be?
29:27Okay, good. I was going to say it's going to be hilarious when the Dolphins beat the Chiefs on Sunday and we're all with egg on our face.
29:34I mean, listen, that would not be fun. We got Jordan Love as a top 12 quarterback.
29:39Keith, he had a great game in week one against Minnesota.
29:41Not as great a game against the Jets but here come the Falcons.
29:45Yeah, and I think, listen, they don't have A.J.
29:47Terrell. The Packers can't run the ball at all.
29:49So this is one of those teams that even if they are playing from ahead I think they're going to have to
29:54keep passing because they can't pick up first downs and move the clock in the run game.
29:59What we've wanted for the last few years is a concentrated target share and more pass volume in Green Bay.
30:04We're getting both of those because so many pass catchers are hurt and they can't run the ball.
30:08Are you nervous about that offensive line in front of Jordan Love?
30:11Because they lost they're down two starters now and one of them their right tackle is out for the year.
30:16So I'm a little bit worried about how that's going to look and whether or not that means a lot of short throws from Jordan Love.
30:23I do think that they can eventually get into the red zone and Love is just going to have to put the
30:28team on his shoulder at that point and make some plays.
30:31So I like him. I don't love a lot of quarterbacks this week.
30:34He's kind of a borderline QB one for me.
30:36So I don't mind him this week because of exactly what you said.
30:40The Falcons have been surprisingly very good at getting to the quarterback but I think a lot of it has to do with playing Pittsburgh in week one.
30:47So we'll see what they do in this matchup.
30:49They were getting to Bryce Young last week too.
30:51Yeah, but not affecting him obviously but I think that having having the time to to prepare for this we talked about
30:57this on the podcast he brought up the story that they were prepping Tucker Craft to be an offensive lineman because they were dropping bodies left and right.
31:03So I think just well no that was they reported I know the report but that was like in case of like a desperate situation.
31:10They were pretty close. They were right. They lost so many linemen but I don't want to scare people I don't want
31:15to scare people off of Tucker Craft. No, no, no.
31:18Again, they have their reinforcements ready to go for this week but it was just that's how bad things were.
31:23I think they'll be prepared for it this week even though it's a short week.
31:26So Jordan Love a borderline starter. If you want to show the rankings 13 through 24 we talked about this just briefly
31:32that Puka Nakua may not play but it didn't bother Matthew Stafford last week against the Giants.
31:36This week taking on the Broncos. Heath, is Matthew Stafford still someone you consider starting?
31:40He was someone I would consider starting. He's certainly not a must start.
31:43I would much rather start Tyler Shuck. He's right in the same range for me with Trevor Lawrence and Bryce Young and
31:49then Stafford and then right behind those guys comes the Drake May group.
31:52Alright. So we'll see where Stafford you know, again back in America he looked much more like Matthew Stafford as opposed to
31:57what he looked like against the 49ers. Let's talk about some starts and sits.
32:01Heath, you got Bryce Young as a starter. You like Jalen Colker.
32:04You like Ted Roll McMillan. You like Bryce Young.
32:06I do like Bryce Young. I like 37.5 pass attempts per game.
32:09I like throwing the ball down the field. The new offensive system in Carolina is working and while he did get pressured
32:14against Atlanta they've mostly done a good job of protecting him or at least avoiding sacks.
32:18He's only been sacked four times despite the fact that he's dropped back 80 times in two games.
32:23I think things are going to continue to work in the passing game for Carolina even against Cleveland.
32:27Should be fun and you know he's now rostered in over 90% of leagues so fantasy managers again pivoting from Jaden Daniels
32:33and Caleb Williams and Jackson Dart this is a great replacement option if you can still get him.
32:37Same thing with Tyler Shuck who's going to be a guy I start we're going to talk about Trevor Lawrence in a
32:43second because you and I disagree on that but Tyler Shuck 29.2 fantasy points in week one 24.4 points in week two
32:48he's now scored 20 or more fantasy .7 of his last eight games going back to last season I know Las Vegas
32:54has been good so far against quarterbacks one was Malik Willis one is Justin Herbert that I think speaks more to what
32:59those two teams look like as opposed to what the Raiders defense looks like Tyler Shuck is a top 10 quarterback for
33:05week number three all right you like Trevor Lawrence I do not tell me why you're starting.
33:09I don't love him he's a low end starter as Jordan Love as Matthew Stafford but I do like the upside that
33:15he has because I think that this is going to be a game push comes to shove Jacksonville is going to throw
33:20the ball and yes the Patriots defense has been great look at who they've gone up against it's been Drew Locke in
33:25week one and they were pretty okay against Drew Locke and then last week it was Aaron Rodgers Lawrence is going to
33:31be a tougher challenge for them and I think Basial Toon will be okay this week I think Trevor Lawrence is going
33:36to have to carry the water here for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Parker Washington shouldn't be shadowed by Christian Gonzalez and that
33:42gives him opportunities to continue to make some plays and I think Lawrence will find some other guys to make plays so
33:47I think at home it's a better opportunity for Trevor Lawrence low end starter he should definitely be better than he was
33:53last week and I do think yes low end starter he's in the top 15 still for me so probably not somebody
33:58that you're going to replace but you do look at the last nine games for the Patriots pretty good sample size only
34:04one quarterback multiple touchdown passes against them so Lawrence hopefully do a little bit with his legs I thought last week was
34:09disappointing the way that he started compared to the way he finished I thought he was off to a good start so
34:15hopefully we get that multiple touchdown game for them which would again be the second time in the last 10 games that
34:20a quarterback against the Patriots goes for multiple scores the last quarterback to do that by the way was Josh Allen who
34:26is just the most amazing quarterback ever let's talk about some guys that we're looking to sit along with Trevor Lawrence for
34:31me for you Heath it's Justin Herbert and are we just done starting him in general you know I this is the
34:37one that I I talk about with my projections it's mostly math like it's mostly just the numbers and then occasionally I
34:42put my thumb on it and I have this temptation to put my thumb on it and say you know what Buffalo's
34:48defense is awful Justin Herbert's gonna bounce back I hate the fact though that it's a West Coast team going to a 1 p.m.
34:54game in Buffalo I hate what this offense has looked like and some of it is the supporting cast some of it
34:59is Justin Herbert some of it is the offensive coordinator nothing's working nothing looks good he's averaging 200 passing yards per game
35:05and he has more interceptions than touchdowns and the offensive line isn't playing well either so I if he's not good here
35:10which should be a get right spot then I definitely think we're done starting him I'm not starting him here either yeah
35:16I mean next week is Seattle so if he doesn't play well against the team that has really struggled against quarterbacks so
35:21far granted CJ Stroud is who he is so that's a positive and then you know we know Jared Goff is a
35:27really good quarterback so we need to see Justin Herbert do something if fantasy managers continue to start him the rest of
35:32the season I feel like it's garbage time for Justin Herbert like if he doesn't get good garbage time the last two
35:38weeks have been garbage time but that's true here's the problem no he was in a close game no I just meant
35:43the offense oh here's the problem he didn't do it against Arizona and he didn't do it against Las Vegas and that's
35:48why fantasy managers can't trust him which right I agree like Trevor Lawrence is somebody I would start ahead of Justin Jordan
35:54love same thing agreed we got Drake May as a sit for you I don't know if I'd start Drake May ahead
35:59of Justin Herbert because I think just the way the Patriots are operating now I think they're trying to be careful I
36:05think they want to lean on their defense I think they absolutely want to lean on their ground game they're going to
36:10test that Jacksonville front this could be a game between the Jaguars and the Patriots I know that we would absolutely pivot
36:16to Tyler Shuck or Bryce Young at this point and view Drake May as someone that I just I need to see
36:21it first and he might be somebody that we talk about buying low on two three weeks from now because the second
36:27half of the season the schedule should be a little bit better AJ Brown should be back he should build his confidence
36:32up by then and then we'll see the Superman that we saw leading the Patriots in 2025 let's talk about some sleeper
36:38quarterbacks for week three and Deshaun Watson cracks your list wow yes and I and I've cracked a lot of jokes about
36:43Deshaun Watson over the last couple of years he's been awful but he hasn't been so far this season he's averaging eight
36:49and a half yards per pass attempt he's completed 76 percent of his passes and he's averaging 30 rushing yards per game
36:54I think the Carolina offense is going to have success I think the Carolina defense is not near as good as their
37:00offense and Watson chasing the score has another good fantasy day all right I'm going to say it out loud I would
37:05start Deshaun Watson over Justin Herbert this week wow I mean he's been a better fantasy quarterback so play the stats and
37:11play the matchup as well let's see what we got for Kyler Murray coming back from his concussion I like the matchup
37:16first and foremost against Tampa that secondary has been a mess their pass rush which was so ballyhooed in the preseason it
37:22really hasn't come to fruition they've got some linebacker injuries and liabilities and I think that the Vikings can take advantage and
37:27if there is no Aaron Jones and if there isn't a semblance of a run game then that's just more on the
37:33plate for the passing game and that's really good for Kyler Murray this is someone if Aaron Jones is out could really
37:38rise up the rankings and maybe even be a number one low-end type of fantasy QB in his first game going up
37:44against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and look Carson Wentz got good numbers in week one I know they're much different quarterbacks but
37:49just the offense produced enough you know three touchdown game for Wentz hopefully Kyler Murray can take advantage of Justin Jefferson and
37:55for once maybe Jordan Addison having big games against this defense I'm gonna go with Geno Smith just based on the matchup
38:00and I think we're gonna get a good stretch of games from Geno the schedule is really good for the Jets moving
38:06forward but this Lions defense they've given up the most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks so far this season can Geno crack
38:11the 20-point barrier 17 points last week against Green Bay I think he gets there so if you miss out on Chuck
38:16or Bryce Young or Kyler Murray some of the quarterbacks we talked about on the waiver wire I think Geno Smith is
38:22a good pivot play all right we're gonna take a break we come back we're gonna get to tight ends don't forget
38:27we have your questions coming up as well stay right here to fantasy football today welcome back to fantasy football today we're
38:33talking about tight end rankings and we're gonna show you the list 1 through 12 of our consensus rankings and you will
38:38not see Colston Loveland but you will see Brock Bowers we're excited to get him back so hopefully he is the Brock
38:44Bowers that we were drafting and knee is okay and he starts to dominate and put up the numbers that a lot
38:49of fantasy managers have been waiting for all right Dave give me 30 seconds on the two tight ends in Thursday night's
38:55game you got Tucker Craft you got Kyle Pitts are they both going to be the players that we drafted and getting
39:00the production that we need from them I like the chances for Kraft with the run game a question mark for Green
39:06Bay the offensive line a question mark for Green Bay Kraft can get those short area targets and make some numbers with
39:11them we know how good he is after the catch Pitts does not have a great track record with Michael Penix 12
39:17games together only four times has he been double digits in PPR points I would try and stay away from Kyle Pitts
39:22this week there are enough other tight ends out there on the waiver wire that you could have turned to and used
39:28in place of Kyle Pitts Pitts on Thursday night though my gosh he loves playing on Thursday night all right let's talk
39:33about we will skip that we'll get to the the starts and sets we don't need to talk about the backup tight
39:39ends although there are a very good list of them check out the consensus rankings to see guys like Pat Fryer Muth
39:44and Rondé Gadsden and maybe even Terrence Ferguson with the absence for Puka Nakua if it does happen once again all right
39:50so Dave you're starting Juwan Johnson this week as the Saints hopefully continue to feed him the ball 10 PPR points or
39:55more each of the first two games of the season he is a big part of this Saints passing offense and this
40:01Raiders pass rush they're good I buy into that pass rush and the offensive line it's a question mark now for New
40:06Orleans missing their left tackle but everything else in that Raiders defense is a question too and so I think we could
40:12see Tyler Shuck continue to lean on Juwan Johnson I think another double digit PPR game is in play Mark Andrews is
40:17somebody you're excited about is that with or without Zay Flowers more without Zay Flowers but also with Zay Flowers I think
40:23Zay Flowers will impact Rashad Bateman more than he will Mark Andrews this game has the highest over under on the slate
40:28and I'm not sure it's high enough anytime the Ravens score a bunch of touchdowns Andrew has a good chance to score
40:33one low-hanging fruit falls in my lap I take Dalton Schultz as a starter he is coming off an amazing game with
40:39140 yards receiving last week and I think we'll see him continue to dominate Nico Collins not practice again on Thursday so
40:44Dalton Schultz taking on a defense that he beat up last year for at least 11 PPR points in both games against
40:50the Colts he should do so once again second in targets among tight ends for the season let's talk about some sit
40:55tight ends Dave you're sitting Jake Ferguson is coming off a two touchdown game yeah let's play that game is he going
41:01to score a touchdown or is he not going to score a touchdown I think that's somebody that Baltimore can take away
41:06in the red zone with one guy Hamilton their safety could line up against them that's if they choose to do it
41:12Baltimore they could use a linebacker instead because it's not like Jake Ferguson is that fast so I'm worried about what he
41:17is when he doesn't score usually that's less than eight PPR points I'd rather start Terrence Ferguson than Jake Ferguson two catches
41:23seven yards in week one and almost scored a touchdown but you saw what the stat line was when he did not
41:28reach the end zone Harold Fannin had a good game last week you like Deshaun Watson you're not starting Fannin his his
41:34target per out run and has fallen by 33 percent from last year to this year with Deshaun Watson at quarterback I
41:39would rather start my sleeper we'll talk about him in just a moment I'd rather start a run day Gadsden I'd rather
41:45start Dalton Schultz I'd rather start Mark Andrews not a top 12 tight end I'm going to sit the aforementioned Colston Loveland
41:50because he has not been very good and now we have a backup quarterback taking on the Eagles so don't give up
41:56on Colston Loveland just yet don't drop him but don't start him this week there are other tight ends you can pivot
42:01to like what he's just said about his sleeper Terrence Ferguson Dave your sleeper is Darren Waller my sleeper is Pat Frymuth
42:07why do we like Darren Waller could score a touchdown same exact game that we play with Jake Ferguson but Carolina against
42:12Cleveland I think that there's going to be an opportunity there in the red zone for Waller to at least get a
42:18target two touchdowns last week should have had one in week one so it's not a bad bet to make Terrence Ferguson
42:23so let's just again Puka in Puka out how are you approaching it oh if Puka's playing no chance if Puka's out
42:29he I'm probably too low on him at 12 because he's going to be the number two option in the passing game
42:34and the number one option in the passing game is going to be lined up opposite of Pat Sertan which could mean
42:40even more targets than we saw last week for Terrence Ferguson very excited to see what he can do if Puka does
42:45not play tougher matchup this week than when he had last week but he was certainly featured by Matthew Stafford and Sean
42:51McVay Pat Frymuth usually gets featured against the Bengals his last 10 games against them six touchdowns he's averaging over 14 PPR
42:56points in this matchup and they just could not stop Coles excuse me Dalton Schultz last week I wish I couldn't stop
43:01Coles they couldn't stop Dalton Schultz last week so Pat Frymuth in a good spot taking on his division rival all right
43:07when we come back it's only your questions thank you for sending them to us on X using the hashtag askfft those
43:12are next here on Fantasy Football Tech quick askfft for you here should I start Matthew Golden tonight at flex have Mike
43:18Evans also but not sure he'll play so Dave who are you starting if you are worried about getting burned and Evans
43:23doesn't practice on Thursday Golden is the play there you go next question uh Ramondre Stevenson Rashad Bateman or Quinton Johnston in
43:29non-PPR Heath who do you like it's gonna be Stevenson for me I'd go Bateman I'm gonna go Bateman also if Zay
43:34is out but probably Stevenson if I might go Bateman even if Zay is in all right he looked good last week
43:40all right last one uh Donald's on a waiver wire and if Herbert and Stroud I'd say hold with what you got
43:45yeah yeah agree yeah let's see Donald come back to practice but he's trending in the right direction all right thank you
