0:00An early look at the Waiver Wire right now on Fantasy Football Today Express.
0:04Week 3 is here, a lot of running back injuries, but hopefully none of them are too serious.
0:08Jamie, what's the Waiver Wire looking like right now for Week 3?
0:11So we'll start at running back. We got a little bit of a positive update on J.K.
0:16Dobbins that it sounds like he's going to be able to play in Week 3 and the same thing maybe with R.J.
0:22Harvey, but I'm still going to go get Jonah Coleman, 49% rostered.
0:25You saw the way he looked in Week 2 against Jacksonville, and that's a good run defense.
0:29I think that we'll see him, even when everybody's healthy, in the mix, and you've already dealt with the one J.K.
0:35Dobbins injury. Imagine if there's a full season injury like we had last year.
0:38I know you've talked about this a lot that maybe it's still R.J.
0:42Harvey's job. I'm going to guess it's a split situation if any of the guys miss, but I do think that if it's a J.K.
0:48Dobbins absence, we get Jonah Coleman on rushing downs, and that leads to some quality production.
0:52I don't think you'll get a must-start running back unless, of course, both guys are out in Week 3 when the Broncos
0:58take on, don't tell me, don't tell me, don't tell me, it's a tough matchup for them, the Rams.
1:03So I think Jonah Coleman is certainly somebody you want to go add.
1:07Barkley's injury is one worth keeping an eye on.
1:09I think we'll see Tank Bigsby as the more added player, but don't forget about Will Shipley.
1:13Tank Bigsby is rostered in 49% of leagues. I'm still rostering him wherever I can get my hands on him, which would be Emmitt Johnson, 57% rostered.
1:20I don't really need to roster him because I have him in every league where he's available that I'm playing, but I
1:26think you should go get Emmitt Johnson because we see the way this offense operates.
1:30They get the Dolphins this week. I'm going to guess both guys get an opportunity to run the ball.
1:35Emmanuel Wilson, it sounds like Jadarian Price is going to be okay dealing with the chest slash shoulder injury, I guess is
1:41the way Mike McDonald framed it on Monday, but 4% rostered.
1:44He just had a lot of work. So make sure you get Emmitt, Emmanuel Wilson.
1:48If you have an opportunity to stash a running back, those are really the major injury concerns.
1:52There's Alvin Kamara, there's TyJ Spears. You know, there's a lot of handcuff options.
1:56You can pick up, you know, Braylon Allen scored a touchdown.
1:58I'll have that list again on Tuesday of the handcuff running backs that I think should be rostered in every league.
2:04And Caleb Johnson maybe is another guy we'll talk about on Tuesday.
2:07Quarterback, is Bryce Young the number one player to get on the waiver wire?
2:11He's not the number one player to get. He's definitely number one quarterback to get.
2:15You can make a case for Dalton Schultz just based on his roster percentage.
2:18He's at 60% coming off the game he just had.
2:21Obviously, if you know, there's a setback during the week between JK Dobbins and RJ Harvey, Jonah Coleman is going to be in that conversation.
2:27But Bryce Young has been awesome through the first two games of the season.
2:31And now he gets Cleveland. And I know the Browns did a much better job against Baker Mayfield, certainly a much better
2:37job than I expected them to do. But the way that Bryce Young has played, this is now seven of his last
2:43nine games going back to last year with at least 20 or more fantasy points coincides with Jalen Coker becoming more of a factor in the offense.
2:50So I think when he has both those receivers on the field, now you throw Darren Waller in the mix.
2:55Bryce Young is looking like a great replacement for Caleb Williams, great replacement for Dayton Daniels, and maybe just a great starting
3:01quarterback that we can ride for the rest of the season because the schedule is not exactly tough.
3:05And as I said on Sunday night's recap show, he's doing this without his tackles.
3:09So once the starting offensive tackles get back, it could be even better for Bryce Young.
3:13All right. Any other quarterbacks that you feel like mentioning?
3:16Well, Kyler Murray got clear. He's going to start in week three.
3:19So maybe we get the guy that we were hoping to see, 64% rostered.
3:23So got back sooner than I expected. So that's someone you definitely want to put on the list of replacement quarterbacks.
3:28I'll still go back to Jacoby Brissett. I know he didn't have a great game against Seattle.
3:33That's Seattle. San Francisco's defense in week three, probably not as tough.
3:36So maybe we get a better performance from him.
3:38Once you start to get past those guys, it's a sliding scale of who do you want to trust?
3:43Gino Smith gets the Lions this week. We've seen what that defense has looked like.
3:47So Gino's in the conversation for a one week option.
3:50Clearly, Marcus Mariota, depending on how long Jaden Daniel is going to be out.
3:53We know that that's been a good fantasy quarterback, a great backup quarterback to target.
3:57He could help you. We're expecting Michael Penix to start on Thursday.
4:00So maybe we get a better Falcons quarterback performance moving forward.
4:03Certainly better than what we've seen the first two weeks.
4:06We know the weapons. They're great. So that's not a bad option to consider.
4:10And then Daniel Jones. Look, he didn't have a great fantasy game against Chiefs, but he looked a lot better.
4:15Not having Alec Pierce most likely is going to be tough, but still he's going to do some things with his legs.
4:20And let's give Deshaun Watson credit. He played really well against Tampa Bay.
4:24Maybe he's going to start to be an option that fantasy managers consider in some deeper leagues.
4:28Yeah, absolutely. And maybe making things more interesting for Denzel Boston, who I'm sure we're going to talk about after this break.
4:34When we look at wide receivers on the waiver wire for fantasy week three, we'll be right back.
4:39Yes, Deshaun Watson and the one-on-one Cleveland Browns. You know what?
4:42I'm going to do a quick report here. I'm going to see if I can.
4:46Who has the best? I don't know if I had to do this.
4:49Who has the best passer rating in the NFL since the beginning of the second quarter of week one?
4:54It might be. He might be up there, Deshaun Watson.
4:56He's been pretty good since that quarter. Anyway, Jamie, what do we got a wide receiver this week?
5:01We have a few options. You know, the one-week scenario, if Zay Flowers is out, Rashad Bateman looked awesome against the Saints.
5:07And who knows if they let him make the trip to Brazil.
5:10But even if he does, he's not going to be at 100%.
5:13And you have Jacoby Lane missing. So Rashad Bateman's in the discussion for just a maybe short-term replacement.
5:18But long-term, you have two guys that are right around the same roster percentage.
5:22And that's Denzel Boston and Trey Tucker. We talked about Tucker going into week one.
5:25We talked about a lot this offseason that he could be the number one receiver for the Raiders.
5:30Didn't see it in week one. But in week two, as he beat up the Chargers secondary.
5:35And Denzel Boston, now two long touchdowns. One was through the air in week one.
5:39Great throw from Deshaun Watson in garbage time. The second one, just a great play from Boston, bouncing off tacklers and finding the end zone.
5:45But we know that their two young receivers are going to make plays.
5:48We know that they're going to get better. Concepcion's rostered in too many leagues at this point to discuss as a waiver wire option.
5:55Boston is not. So I'm going to put Boston at the top of the list just because I think he'll continue to get better.
6:01And if this version of Deshaun Watson, let's just not even expect him to get better.
6:05But if this version of Deshaun Watson shows up week in, week out, pretty good for Denzel Boston right now.
6:10So that's really all we worry about. But Boston, Trey Tucker, Rashad Bateman.
6:14You still have the guys in Houston because we don't know when Nico Collins is going to come back.
6:19I'm going to go to Xavier Hutchinson. I know he didn't have a great game, but he had nine targets.
6:24And he just gets a lot of targets in the three games now going back to the last two years when Nico Collins has been out.
6:31Keep an eye on the situation in Miami. Caleb Douglas didn't have a good game, and now he's hurt.
6:36So maybe that's Malik Washington who's just been six-plus targets in each of the first two games.
6:40Maybe it's Chris Bell getting a bigger opportunity. Maybe it's a situation you want to avoid.
6:44I totally get that. But that's one to keep an eye on.
6:47Antonio Williams is up to 60% rostered. Almost threw a touchdown for Washington to Terry McCorn.
6:52Didn't have a great game, but that's hard to judge.
6:54And just saying that we're going to see what happens with Marcus Marriott moving forward.
6:58And then just a guy that I think will give you some decent low-end production, maybe two.
7:03You got Dontabian Wicks with the Eagles. He's had two positive games.
7:06Targets haven't exactly been off the charts, but Jalen Hurts trying to find a second or third option.
7:10And it could be the second option if Dallas Goddard's out with that injury that he suffered in Week 2.
7:16And then Khalif Raymond, I know we don't want to buy into it, but it's been now two weeks of consistent targets.
7:21We'll see what changes with Tyson Bajan as a starting quarterback there.
7:24But that's just another player to keep an eye on moving forward.
7:28Yeah, Raymond actually was out at the one-yard line, but that was a poorly executed play.
7:32That should have been a touchdown for Khalif Raymond.
7:34Tight ends. Yeah. What if Dalton Schultz isn't available?
7:36What do we do then? So the list for me goes next would be Hunter Henry, 57% rostered.
7:41I think they played the Steelers. It wasn't exactly the best game, but targets were there for him.
7:46If you're looking at some matchup-based situations, you got Kenyon Sadiq taking on the Lions.
7:50We've seen now tight ends the first two weeks.
7:52First, it was the Saints tight ends in Week 1, both Noah Fant and Jawan Johnson.
7:56Then Week 2, it was Dalton Kincaid going crazy.
7:59Sadiq may be an option. You know, Aaron Glenn knowing that defense a little bit, still from, you know, two years removed from coaching that team.
8:05But we know the safeties are not going to be there.
8:08I think Pat Fryer-Muth has a little bit better performance in Week 3 than he did in Week 2.
8:13Patriots defense just obviously very good. And then the obvious one, just from a touchdown standpoint, would be Darren Waller, 9% rostered.
8:19Scored two touchdowns. I think he'll start to get ramped up a little bit.
8:23We know he's not going to be a target hog on this team, but he should be the third option.
8:28Just looking at the way Bryce Young is playing right now, that's a guy to consider.
8:32And then just based on the injuries in Los Angeles with the Chargers, I know you don't want to buy into the Chargers right now.
8:39But Arande Gadsden scored a touchdown. Both David Njoku and Charlie Kohler are injured.
8:42Maybe we get Gadsden being a little bit more of a factor.
8:45We did see five-plus targets for David Njoku in Week 1.
8:48That was after Ladin McConkie got injured. But Gadsden was a bigger part of the offense last season than he certainly has been in the first two weeks.
8:56All right. Good stuff there with four of those positions.
8:58We also have DSTs. Don't forget about the DSTs.
9:01Do we have a great one this week? We do.
9:03I don't have the percentages, but I'll tell you who caught my eye.
9:07It's time, I think, to buy into the Bengals.
9:09You know, they're playing much better. And we saw what the Steelers' offense looked like right now.
9:13So the Bengals will be one. The Chiefs, I don't know what their roster percentage is, but they get the Dolphins.
9:19I think it's just you chase the Dolphins on a week-to-week basis if you can.
9:23The Saints defense is playing better. You know, they're taking on Indianapolis, right, this week with Noah Pierce.
9:27So something. No, they're getting Las Vegas. I'm sorry, Las Vegas.
9:30Excuse me. Texans get the Colts. Texans get the Colts.
9:33Excuse me. You have that, you know, potential Raiders matchup, which could always be of interest.
9:37And then the Panthers, look, they played really well last week against the Falcons.
9:41We'll see what they look like this week against the Browns.
9:44So, you know, all the positive things we just said about Deshaun Watson.
9:47It could still be Deshaun Watson and that defense.
9:49And don't forget about the Giants against the Titans.
9:52Giants against the Titans. And then also the Packers, just in case Penix doesn't play.
9:56If you're getting Packers against those backup quarterbacks, they'll be great.
9:58That's a Thursday game. I mean, you might want to just make the Packers a top priority and then drop them.
10:04I mean, you don't even have to drop them.
10:06It's not like Penix is all pro. But if it's Jack Strand or Cooper Rush facing the Packers on Thursday, start the Packers DST.
10:13Okay. Thanks, Jamie Eisenberg. Dave Richard will be with us tomorrow to break it all down, talk about all these players and more.
10:19And, yeah, we'll talk to you tomorrow with the Waver Wire show on fantasy football today.
10:23Podcasts.
