Alec Pierce

NegativeInjury33:20

Alec Pierce is being ranked very low due to concerns about his health and a significant downgrade in the Colts' receiving corps.

Insight page

Anthony Richardson

NegativeProjection21:46

Anthony Richardson provides a consistent fantasy floor due to his rushing ability, even when his passing performance is poor. He is characterized as a player who will deliver fantasy points regardless of real-world efficiency.

Insight page

Bijan Robinson

NegativeValue51:08

The source expresses nervousness about drafting both Robinson and Drake London in the same fantasy lineup, as the Falcons' offense could potentially underperform expectations.

Insight page

Blake Corum

PositiveValue42:55

Corum is highlighted as a top-tier running back option in a hypothetical scenario where starters are removed, with the source ranking him as a high-upside workhorse candidate.

Insight page

Chase Brown

NegativeUsage27:02

Chase Brown is mentioned as a starting running back option in a 14-team league, though his presence on a roster highlights the need for depth at the position.

Insight page
PositiveProjection36:25

Chase Brown is being drafted as a top-five running back, with the expectation that he will benefit from the Bengals' high-scoring offense.

Insight page

Christian Watson

NegativeRole25:13

Christian Watson has a solidified role in the Packers' offense, though the team's run-heavy approach and target distribution among Watson, Doubs, and Reed create uncertainty regarding his overall passing volume.

Insight page

Dalton Kincaid

NegativeValue45:23

The source advises against drafting Kincaid in the ninth round, suggesting he should be targeted later in drafts, though acknowledging he likely won't fall to the twelfth round.

Insight page

Daniel Jones

PositiveProjection31:23

Daniel Jones is a strong Superflex option who could finish near or inside the QB1 range if he plays 17 games, as his scrambling ability and high first-read target percentage provide both floor and ceiling.

Insight page

Harold Fannin

NegativeValue47:31

The source expresses skepticism about drafting Fannin in the mid-rounds, noting that he is in a crowded offense and it is difficult to expect him to replicate his previous production.

Insight page

Ja'Marr Chase

PositiveProjection35:55

Ja'Marr Chase is considered a top-one receiver option, with the potential to lead the league in touchdowns despite the Bengals' improved defense.

Insight page

Jadarian Price

NegativeValue51:56

While Price is a reasonable pick in the fifth or sixth round, the source questions his upside, noting he is an unknown quantity with limited college production and potential competition for touches from other backs like George Holani.

Insight page

Jalen Coker

PositiveValue25:26

Jalen Coker is an interesting late-round target for fantasy managers looking for floor, particularly as teams shift toward 12-personnel schemes.

Insight page

Jameson Williams

PositiveProjection24:27

Jameson Williams is expected to benefit from the Lions' pass-heavy offense and an easy schedule, though he will likely remain inconsistent week-to-week, potentially finishing around WR12 in total production.

Insight page

Jared Goff

PositiveValue20:08

Jared Goff is identified as a quarterback with a high weekly floor, making him an ideal target for managers who wait on the position or want a reliable QB2 to pair with a high-ceiling backup.

Insight page

Jaxon Smith-Njigba

NegativeBust39:43

JSN is considered the biggest regression candidate in fantasy football. While he is expected to remain a good player, he is unlikely to repeat his performance from last season, making him a worse option than Puka Nacua at the current draft position.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

PositiveValue26:52

Jalen Warren is considered a trustworthy third running back option for 14-team leagues, providing enough value to be a reliable depth piece.

Insight page

Joe Burrow

PositiveProjection36:21

Joe Burrow is a top-five quarterback target who is expected to maintain high pass volume, as the Bengals are unlikely to successfully transition to a run-heavy offense.

Insight page
NegativeUsage37:24

The Bengals are moving away from under-center play-action schemes quickly this season. Despite concerns that a better defense might lower his passing volume, historical data shows Burrow threw 38 times per game during a season where the Bengals had a top-five defense and reached the Super Bowl.

Insight page

Josh Downs

PositiveUsage25:02

Josh Downs is highlighted as a player who will receive guaranteed targets, providing a reliable floor even if his week-to-week ceiling is limited.

Insight page

Malik Willis

PositiveBreakout17:03

Malik Willis is being slept on as a late-round steal with rushing upside comparable to Anthony Richardson, but with a more proven track record as a passer. The market has not adjusted his ADP despite the potential for him to secure the starting job long-term, making him a high-upside QB2 target.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

NegativeValue39:22

Nacua remains a viable fourth overall pick despite concerns regarding a groin injury and potential suspension. The source notes he is still working on the side at camp, and if a suspension occurs, it would likely be limited to two games. He is preferred over JSN, though McCaffrey is the only player the source would consider taking over him at that spot.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeUsage27:02

Saquon Barkley is cited as a primary running back option for a 14-team league roster.

Insight page

Tee Higgins

PositiveProjection35:16

Tee Higgins is a high-end WR2 who consistently scores touchdowns, with 21 scores in his last 27 games; he is projected for 8-10+ touchdowns and 1,000-1,200 yards if he plays a full season.

Insight page

Tyrone Tracy

NegativeDepth Chart27:08

Jamie Eisenberg expresses concern about relying on Tyron Tracy Jr. as a third running back in a 14-team league, suggesting it indicates poor roster depth.

Insight page

Wan'Dale Robinson

PositiveUsage25:02

Wandale Robinson is identified as a player who will receive guaranteed targets, offering a stable floor for fantasy rosters.

Insight page

Zach Charbonnet

PositiveInjury52:04

Charbonnet is ahead of schedule in his ACL recovery and is expected to handle red-zone work. The source notes he had the fifth-highest percentage of team touches inside the 10-yard line when healthy last year.

2:02What a play! It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
2:04Off to the races, and he stays on his feet.
2:07Here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath.
2:10And yes! Really excited for today's show. Adam Azer here with Jamie Eisenberg.
2:13And the cockiest man on the face of the earth, Dan Schneier.
2:17Because it's six days until tennis, and that means Dan becomes a total jerk.
2:21So welcome to the show, Jerkface Dan. Listen, Adam, I was thinking about it.
2:25This is the last mailbag before the match. And I was thinking about it a little bit.
2:30Just the last time we played, I have no respect for your game.
2:33I really don't. I was thinking about how you played, your serve, your weak backhands that barely make it to midcourt.
2:39Real big talking about a serve. You couldn't get your serve in?
2:43Well, what ended up happening was you played me on my worst day of tennis in probably the last four years.
2:49And still lost the practice match six to four.
2:51Which is really a sign of things to come.
2:54Six to four! But I just have no respect of what you put out there on the court.
2:59Everything you hit was to midcourt. You put so little pace.
3:02You asked me, I played so bad. And I was like, I can't play well.
3:06When my opponent generates no pace with the way that you generate, you somehow regressed from a pace standpoint.
3:11You're weaker. You can't get your shots past midcourt.
3:14And I thought about it and I was like, I know this guy thinks he can win this year.
3:19Because he got four games in the practice set.
3:22And he got four games in the second set of last year.
3:25Even though we're 24 to six overall on our four sets.
3:28I have so little respect for your game that I'm willing to make some wagers today.
3:33And these are wagers that I'll actually do. Not like you're, I'll put three lines in my head, but my wife has
3:3917 important phone calls and I can never find time to do it.
3:43Or the recent Heath bet that we all know you're not going to go through with.
3:47Because I put a poll out there on Twitter.
3:50And I asked the people, do you think Adam will go through?
3:53He got a way out of it. He already found a way out of it.
3:58No, no, no. No. Heath had a flaw in his bet.
4:01So who technically found that? Adam's lawyer? Like what happened?
4:04No, I saw somebody posted on Twitter on X.
4:06I apologize for not referencing who it was. But the Giants could be eliminated week two, right?
4:11In theory? Well, not in theory, but by October, right?
4:14Maybe. The bet is Devante Smith versus A Flowers for the season.
4:17So even if the Giants are eliminated from playoff contentions, which is what Keith said, we don't know the winner of the bet until week 18.
4:24Right. So Adam may get week 18 through the draft of beer, which is still awful.
4:29But here's the thing. And you can't touch it, by the way.
4:32No trimming it. What I don't understand is like, I've got an important event that I have to take a lot of pictures for.
4:39I have to look good. They're going to last forever.
4:42My niece's bat mitzvah. I don't want to look like a loser with this stupid beard.
4:46Why can't? That's in January. How do you know you won't look better with a grown-out beard?
4:51Hold on. Hold on. Why can't I just do it after January?
4:55From the day after that event until the Giants pick in late April in the NFL draft, there's going to be plenty
5:01of time for me to grow a stupid, itchy, ugly, hideous, horrible beard.
5:05I don't need to do it from December on.
5:07It's just stupid. There is no reason why I can't lose that bet, pay up that part of it, but still look good for a family function.
5:15You know what? Because I think that it really says, the chat really sums it up because you made the bet.
5:21You made the bet as is, Adam. No, I didn't.
5:24You want to talk about I'm cocky. You were cocky when you made that bet, and now the rooster come.
5:29I don't even know what the term is, but you have to come through with this thing.
5:34Fine. You know what? No. And I still want to see the three lines too, by the way.
5:39That's not over. I already, I am so sick of this three lines crap.
5:43What is wrong with everyone? I see it in the stupid chat.
5:46I hear from stupid ass Dan. Shut up. Whoa.
5:49Will you stop? I already shaved the three lines.
5:52Enough with the damn three lines. For the last freaking time, I already shaved them.
5:56I shaved them like two years ago. Stop bringing it up.
5:59I already did. This really feels like a situation where if the bear, you know what's in the woods, it'd actually happen
6:05if no one was there to hear it. I did it.
6:08He showed everyone. He did do it. It happened.
6:11All right. He did do it. I think if I were Heath, I would let you go to the family function without the beard.
6:18No. No. I'll talk to Heath. That's unacceptable. But here's the thing.
6:21You have to go with the bad beard to the family function.
6:24No, I'm not doing that. That's part of the bad.
6:27And listen. When does the family function? I don't know.
6:30Sometime in January. I don't know. It's disrespectful to my family.
6:33No, you need to know the date because the date matters.
6:36I'll find out the date. But it's disrespectful. When does week 18 end?
6:40Look, we got to get to the show here.
6:42We got to get to the show. But more importantly, we got to get to this.
6:47Donate to Draftathon. Help our cause with St. Jude.
6:50And come up with ways for this bet to evolve.
6:52Me and Adam. Tennis match next week. I am so disgusted that he thinks he can beat me.
6:57Given how poor his game is. No backhand. Can't lob a backhand over me when I'm at the net.
7:03Every shot is so weak from him. I can't generate pace because he can't generate pace.
7:07And so I don't even care what the listener said last year.
7:11Oh, Dan, you're hitting so soft. I don't care.
7:13My strategy is yours. I don't care how it looks.
7:16I'm just going to win every point, every game as much as I can.
7:20So here's what I want from the listeners to raise money for St.
7:24Jude. I am willing to bet two things. You can set the line today in the chat.
7:29I'm going to let you set the line. The total score is the first year I won 6-0-6-2.
7:34The second year I won 6-0-6-4. In that order, in those sets, I'm a worst second set player.
7:39I'm in disgusting shape. The worst shape of my literal life.
7:42I've had an amazing summer. Great social events. And I've ate and drank like an idiot.
7:46Now, with that said, I am so disgusted with his game.
7:49That the bets I am going to allow. I want you to set the line.
7:54We'll bet that. That one's easy. I'll obviously beat the line.
7:57He stinks at tennis. But I also want to say this.
8:00What's the bet? Just what's the bet? No stipulations.
8:02Two bets. One, that Adam will not win the match.
8:05No spread. Just will not win the match. And two, that Adam will not win a set in this match.
8:11And will never beat me in a set. Yeah.
8:14Two things. I think, you know, what's interesting, Dan, is that at no point...
8:17We've played three matches. At no point... We've played two matches.
8:21We've played three matches. We've played the practice match.
8:23No, we've played a practice set. That's not a match.
8:26Okay, we've played a... Fine. We've played five sets.
8:29At no point have I ever led in games.
8:31So that's... I would love to get off to 1-0 start.
8:34But the other thing is, I'm not going to talk that much trash because I've seen you.
8:39I've seen the way you... Me, you, Scott, Fish.
8:42We go out. We have a cheesesteak, right? And you're the only slob who ate the whole thing.
8:47Jesus. The rest of us grown men can pace ourselves.
8:49You're overweight. We're playing... Whoa! We're playing at 4 o'clock p.m.
8:53in August in South Florida. You... I was born in the heat.
8:56You merely adopted it. Okay? You are going to be...
8:59You're going to be out of shape not by the third set, not by the third game.
9:04You're going to be out of shape by the third point.
9:07You're going to be gassed. You might die. So...
9:09Have you ever... I... You will not be able to keep up with me.
9:13You better win that first set quickly because by the second set, you're not going to be able to run.
9:19And that's it. Let's move on to the show.
9:21Okay. All right. We have some good stuff for you today.
9:25Wow. What epic rants. Oh, shave the three lines here.
9:27Like, this... Perpetuating this myth. They're ridiculous. Anyway, we got a great show today.
9:31We have some draft... I mean, that's not a myth.
9:34You didn't do it when you were supposed to do it.
9:37But I did it. But you didn't do it when you were supposed to.
9:41But I did it. And you made up a fake excuse that nobody ever bought at the time.
9:46You asked my wife in person. She told you it was actually exactly what happened.
9:51Yeah, because you told her to tell me that.
9:53You literally, like, set her up. I know how you do things.
9:56Yeah, that's right. Exactly. All right. Draftathon questions. Thank you for your donations there.
10:00Emails at fantasyfootballatcbsi.com. I haven't really gotten a lot of fantasy cop submissions.
10:04So if you have any league disputes, please email us.
10:07Fantasyfootballatcbsi.com. That's the letter I. And put fantasy cops in the subject line.
10:11Also, one of our listeners made an FFT bingo website.
10:13And I want to take a look at that in a minute.
10:17But here's some questions. I'll do it right now.
10:19Stop. Go ahead. No, no. Let's get to the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
10:23Whoever it is gets a spot in the left over.
10:26Yeah. He says, call me crazy. But is Malik Willis about to become everything we hoped and dreamed Anthony Richardson would be?
10:32He has the same rushing upside as Richardson. But we've actually seen Malik be a competent passer in the league.
10:38If so, Malik Willis is being slept on and is a steal in the later rounds, especially in four-point-per-passing touchdown leagues.
10:44He's essentially what we did with Justin Fields last preseason.
10:47But because the Justin Fields thing blew up in our face as much as it did, the ADP just has not moved on Malik Willis.
10:54I think it's probably better to have him somewhere in between, though, where he's at now and where Justin Fields was at.
11:00Which, by the way, was steamed up for QB8, QB9, QB10 range before last drafts.
11:04And in reality, as I look to it in my head, I'm like, isn't there a much better chance that Willis does end up keeping the starting job?
11:12Now, Quinn Ewers did not embarrass himself last year.
11:15He actually looked kind of decent, I thought, throwing the football last year.
11:18But the Fields thing was a two-year kind of whatever deal with the Jets.
11:22The Willis thing, was it a three-year deal, I believe?
11:25It looks almost like they kind of believe he could potentially be their guy if they hit on him.
11:30So I feel like his ADP is still just not where it should be.
11:34I don't know if I'm ready to take the leap.
11:37I guess you could make the case like, you know, Fields had Garrett Wilson.
11:41Maybe a better O-line, though I think that's debatable.
11:44I kind of like the Dolphins' O-line, to be honest.
11:46And they drafted another first-round pick out of Bama this year.
11:50Probably a better run blocker than pass blocker, but a good player overall.
11:53I think he's probably underrated. And Willis is probably more upside in that QB2 range than anyone but Kyler.
11:59So the last part, I think, is the thing that matters most here.
12:02So when you have your quarterback strategy, whatever that is for you.
12:06We saw a draft that we just did, right?
12:08Somebody ended up with their last two picks or two of the last three picks.
12:12They took Jared Goff and Jackson Dart. Dave took Malik Willis late after drafting Jalen Hurts.
12:17There's quarterbacks that are going to have a good floor that are number two quarterbacks.
12:21Jared Goff. Patrick Mahomes is in that range now.
12:24Brock Purdy, I think, has a good floor. Bo Nix has a good floor.
12:28Then you have this other group of quarterbacks. Dan mentioned two.
12:31Kyler Murray, Malik Willis. Throw Tyler Shuck in there also because his ceiling, I think, is probably a little bit higher if
12:37he hits than some of these other guys. If you like your quarterback and you're pretty solid and you're just taking another
12:43quarterback because you have empty roster spots or don't love anything else or looking maybe as a trade ship, those are the type of guys that you're taking.
12:51If you wait on the position, I would like to take one of each.
12:55I would like to take a Goff and a Dart, a Goff and a Kyler, a Goff and Malik Willis.
13:01I think those are guys that could be league winners.
13:04But if they fail, they're going to be awful.
13:06So Anthony Richardson, speaking of which, you saw the full Anthony Richardson fantasy experience last night.
13:11He looked awful, but he got you 11.5 points and a half.
13:14Like that's just what he does. Yeah. Dan, we got a comment here.
13:18Dan is so intense. Wonder how he orders a complicated sandwich at the deli.
13:22I just did order a complicated one yesterday. I had broccoli rabe, hot fryer peppers, provolone.
13:26But you know what? It's different at the deli because I don't have someone like Adam who thinks he can actually beat
13:33me, even though everything says in his brain that he can't.
13:36But you know what? I respect your confidence level.
13:38What I don't respect. How about that confidence? I'll do a slob.
13:42How about that confidence? He's calling. Yeah. The slob call out, despite it being true.
13:46I mean, it's really disgusting where I'm at right now.
13:49I'm at 184. I was at 168 last summer, but I've been eating and drinking at a good social summer.
13:54It is what it is. I'm going to roll into this.
13:57Here's the thing. Sabalenka, is she in amazing shape?
14:00No, she beats the ball up and she beats her opponents.
14:03When you have a weak opponent like Adam, who just puts nothing, the lack of pace that you put on a tennis ball.
14:10Have you mentioned that yet? I haven't heard about the lack of pace on this.
14:14The thing is, you actually had some pace on your forehand last year and you've regressed in some way.
14:19It's insane. Okay. Next email is from Big Nasty.
14:22He says, I want to know what the biggest difference between 12 team and 14 team leagues is for you guys.
14:28I'm in a league with all my good friends from college and we recently just added two more of our friends to make it a 14 team league.
14:36So, uh, what's the biggest difference, Jamie, between 12 team and 14 team league?
14:40Um, two more managers. Uh, I think the thing that you got to look at is, um, can you get away with waiting on quarterback?
14:47I think you can, cause it's so deep. I think you want to probably depending on the scoring system, figure out what
14:53your flex is going to be, because I think that matters if you're going to lean heavily toward receiver running back.
14:59Um, the, uh, the decision, you know, comes in, I think where you pick as well, you know, so we know there's
15:05four receivers going in the first round. You know, you're going to still get probably some good value in the second round.
15:11I think let the second round dictate your strategy.
15:14That probably works for 12 team leagues too. Um, but you know, it, it shouldn't really change your, your, your approach too
15:20much, but I think really just quarterback tight end.
15:23That's really the two positions that you should focus on.
15:25I say it a lot, but in a 14 team league, I really hate coming out of a draft with, with bad running back depth.
15:32I, you can't have everything you want, but you know, you can plug in a wide receiver from the waiver wire that
15:39could get you, you know, eight to 12 PPR points and be your representative.
15:43Sometimes you look at the waiver wire in a 14 team league at running back and it's just absolute garbage.
15:48So I'd like to have at least three guys that I can trust, uh, on a weekly basis if possible.
15:54It's not that hard to do. I mean, it just means it is 14, but.
15:58So if you're, if you're saying you want three guys, you could trust and let's, how do we do podcast league two receivers in a flex?
16:06Yeah. I'd say like three top 30 guys. So you probably need to take three running backs for your first four picks.
16:12No, I don't think so. Cause like Jalen Warren could be my third guy.
16:16I'd be fine with that. You know, or someone in that range.
16:19Um, it doesn't have to be three top 20 guys.
16:22Just, I don't want to look at my, we had a team that drafted today that, that started Chase Brown, Saquon Barkley,
16:28and their third running back was Tyron Tracy Jr.
16:31That's not going to be me in a four.
16:33So I guess let's look at it differently. So you, you have pick five.
16:37Five, you're starting receiver, right? Yeah. Are you taking McCaffrey there?
16:40No receiver. Okay. So you're starting receiver. So now you get to round two and you're probably looking at Jeremiah Love as your best running back.
16:48Yeah. I'll probably take a receiver there. I don't have to, I don't have to be a lead at running back.
16:54I'm just saying I want at least three running.
16:56Oh, you don't. I got you. Yeah. Yeah. At least three running.
17:00You'd be fine with a scataboo Pollard Jalen Warren trio.
17:02I think I'd prefer it to be something like scataboo Irving Jalen Warren, but yeah.
17:07Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Okay. I would rather take the best player than as opposed to just pigeonholing myself to taking those running.
17:13Like always, always, I guess my point was like running back dries up pretty quickly.
17:1714 team league waiver wire really sucks at running back.
17:20Whereas you're, you're going to have these guys that are going to get maybe five targets or something like that could get
17:26four catches and you know, at wide receiver. Um, all right.
17:29We got to take a break. When we come back, let's take a look at FFT bingo and read your emails at fantasy football at cbsi.com.
17:37We'll be right back this summer. My wife and I took my parents, our son and our granddaughter on a trip to Montana coming from South Florida.
17:44It was such a change of pace. We spent our days exploring Glacier National Park, taking in the incredible mountain views, spotting
17:50wildlife and doing some easy hikes to waterfalls and scenic overlooks.
17:54It was amazing being surrounded by mountains and cooler weather, something we just don't get at home.
17:58We also checked out some local restaurants, tried a few Montana favorites like huckleberry desserts and really enjoyed slowing down and spending quality time together.
18:05But while we were off exploring somewhere new, our home was just sitting empty.
18:09That's when I realized while we're away, we could list our space on Airbnb.
18:13It feels like a smart and practical way to bring in some extra cash, especially when there is a high demand in
18:20our area for things like concerts, games or festivals.
18:22It turns an empty house into an easy opportunity while you enjoy your own time off.
18:27It can even help offset some of the cost of your next trip.
18:30Your home might be worth more than you think.

20:21This is a great deal. FFT Bingo. I think it's got the potential to be pretty funny.
20:26Let's take a look. Share my screen here. So you can select the hosts.
20:30I got Adam, Jamie, and Dave here. Let's generate the grid.
20:33All right. Adam gets razzed for Acer static. Eddie mentioned that tight end is deep this year.
20:38A poll is consulted. Jamie starts to save it with again.
20:41A combine stat is mentioned. Jamie curses. Let's hope we're not checking that one off.
20:45You already did check that one off yourself. I said the A word.
20:49Yeah. Is that not considered a curse in your book?
20:51Adam, any mention of the green zone? Dan says unbelievable.
20:54And Adam drops a trailing preposition despite his war against washed.
20:57What the hell is a trailing preposition? Three guys supposed to be journalists.
21:01None of us know the answer. Holy shit. That was good.
21:04Oh, you son of a... Sorry. I cursed again.
21:07All right. Let's see. We got to cross that.
21:09All right. Jamie curses. All right. We'll check. We'll consult back with the bingo card.
21:14You have to start the statement with again. Not just saying.
21:17Again, that was great. Yeah. But we'll see if it comes up naturally.
21:20I'll zoom in on it. You know, I'll zoom in on it right now.
21:24So when we go back to it, we can...
21:27Where's the damn zoom? Once I figure out how to zoom.
21:30There we go. We zoomed. All right. Let's get to the questions here.
21:34Thank you, Jamie. I'll see you guys. I'll see you guys.
21:37What is it? Who's? Mel Bailey. Can I read it or no?
21:40I like it, but the only thing he missed was to say Dave interrupting Adam every 48 seconds.
21:45Well, I didn't put Dave under the bingo card.
21:48Like, I'm sure if I had added... Let's see what another combination is.
21:51Click mailbag. Click mailbag for miscellaneous. That's important. They said.
21:54All right. Now I have to unzoom. This is awesome.
21:57This is so good. FFT. We have the best listeners in the freaking world.
22:01Literally the best listeners. I can't believe it. I feel like the Big Blue Banter crew listeners is amazing.
22:06FFT open plug. We're good. It's amazing. Adam tries to wriggle out of the beard bet.
22:11Yep. Yep. Yep. Well said. He knew it right away.
22:14FFT open plug. Yep. Dan talks about golf. That's going to happen.
22:17He did. I thought I was off here. Adam and Dan's tennis rivalry is mentioned.
22:21Oh, it was more than mentioned. FFT open plug.
22:24I never thought I'd be fat shamed on today's show.
22:27All right. Let's get to the questions here from.
22:29Never thought I'd be fat shamed on a show, but order broccoli robbed with provolone at a sub shop.
22:35Oh, there was more on that chicken cutlet, prosciutto, fried prosciutto bread.
22:38It was great. Did you eat the whole thing?
22:41I ate the whole thing. I didn't know it was faux pas to eat a whole sandwich.
22:45According to Adam, oh, the men. He said the men, the mature men eat a half a sandwich.
22:51It was me, Scott Fish, and Joe Ryan. We're grownups.
22:53We look into the food. We say we don't have to eat the entire thing here.
22:58It's a very heavy sandwich. Very mature. Oh, by the way, Scott wanted me to mention that you are unaware that you
23:04can request a refrigerator for your room. Wait, what?
23:07You can request a refrigerator for your room if it's not there.
23:10Oh, we had a refrigerator. Yeah. That's the other thing.
23:13Could have just brought the sub home and put it in the damn refrigerator.
23:17I'm sorry. A microwave. A microwave. A microwave. Oh, a microwave.
23:20Yes. All right, this is from Noah. Dear Tony, Steve, Peter, and Bruce.
23:24Game of Thrones, Dan? What was it? Tony what?
23:26Tony, Steve, Peter, and Bruce. Nah. Don't have it.
23:29Don't have it. Adam knows this. I'm impressed. Yeah, it's all the Avengers, right?
23:33Yeah, but you had to look it up. No, I didn't.
23:36That's easy. He does a lot of that look it up cheating that people don't know about.
23:41He's one of the biggest offenders, I would say, in that regard.
23:44You know, this drives me crazy. You make up so many things about me.
23:48What are you talking about? I don't do that.
23:50When I look it up, I tell you. Jamie, what are your thoughts on that?
23:55With wide receiver coming off a down year, so many receivers falling in the blob of boom or bust wide receiver threes,
24:01I'm curious how predictive weekly matchups are to when the wide receiver booms.
24:05In other words, are wide receiver threes more likely to boom when facing a bottom 10 pass defense?
24:10I'm leaning towards a heavy running back build this year, so I'm wondering how close to wide receiver two production I can
24:16get out of playing matchups with three or four boom bust wide receivers in the mid to late rounds?
24:21Good question. Obviously, it matters. Yeah. It comes down to, you know, I think the pass offenses that you're talking about.
24:27So like a guy like Jameson Williams, for example, we expect the Lions to be pass heavy, and that should benefit him.
24:33I think Christian Watson's not going to be in a pass heavy offense, but his role is solidified, you know, so he's going to get those chances.
24:41You know, so it's probably 50-50 on what you're talking about here, matchups versus player versus offense.
24:46You know, that's not two categories, but you get the point.
24:49Like, you know, we're looking at, you know, who the player is and I think what the opportunities are for them.
24:55So, you know, comparing those type of guys to, let's say a Josh Downs or, you know, Wandel Robinson, where they're going to get guaranteed targets.
25:02They may not be great week to week, but you know that they're going to get opportunities.
25:07I have a different take on this. I think it's harder to do than ever.
25:11Last year, we saw the fall off to only eight teams through average 250 yards passing or more.
25:16It was down from nine the year before. It was 17 just five years ago.
25:21And as teams are moving more towards these heavier personnel groups to try to combat the two high looks with split safety
25:27looks, I think the ones you're going to see this being possible for are the ones that are running a lot of
25:3312 personnel, two tight ends on the field, two receivers with the fine number two that isn't high on ADP based on
25:39that quarterback situation, whatever it may be. Someone maybe like a Jalen Coker is someone that interests me as far as floor goes.
25:46Players like they just got extended, by the way, on a contract.
25:49The players like in the Packers situation, a little less interested in because any of these teams with like gold and Watson
25:55and read expected to be on the field for a lot of snaps.
25:59That's where I'm not so sure where the target distribution is get is, is going to.
26:04And I'm not so sure where the overall total passing production is going to given how run heavy they've been.
26:09I think they were number one rush over expectation team in the entire NFL last year, by far the Packers.
26:15And it's kind of been the case for the floor, just use them an example.
26:19So I don't, that's it's, it's very interesting as teams are going away from the pass.
26:24We have these first two, three, uh, first round one, round two, round three.
26:28It's like all the values are running back. I kind of want to start running back, running back.
26:33But it's also like, if you don't get one of these few receivers who are actually getting the volume week to week,
26:39you're kind of stuck at receiver or you're just taking gambles.
26:42Like I like Jamison Williams. I'm with you on the Jamie and their schedule is easy.
26:47And they're in the domes. They're going to be a good passing team.
26:50But I think we both would agree that Jamison Williams, his total production will probably be like wide receiver 12, whatever.
26:56But he's going to have like a week to week inconsistency as he's kind of always had.
27:01That's the, that's the bill that this manager is going for, you know, the, the volatility.
27:06So you'll have blow up weeks. And obviously if he's going running back heavy or she's going running back heavy, then you're
27:12running backs left to carry you tight end may have to carry your quarterback, et cetera.
27:16And then the weeks where your wide receivers go off or one or two of them go off, you're going to probably obliterate the field.
27:23The other part of it is going to have some of those weeks where you're inconsistent.
27:28And just real quick on the topic, Dan, you're going to love this.
27:32Pete Prisco told me yesterday he's doing, it's either a five part series or he has five reasons why passing games have just gone in the toilet.
27:39And so he has gone on part of his training camp tour.
27:43He talked to LaFleur about this, Matt LaFleur about this, Joe Brady about this, Todd Monken about this, Liam Cohen about this.
27:49He said he spent an hour, Liam Cohen in his offense, just going over stuff.
27:53And for Pete who's covered the NFL over 30 plus years, he said, Cohen was showing him stuff that defenses are doing
27:59right now that, you know, offenses aren't adjusting to.
28:02He said that Cohen and Sean McVay had a conversation, like, are we just doing too much at times?
28:07Like to try and throw things off. It was fascinating to hear Pete's story about this.
28:12I can't wait to read what Pete's going to write about it.
28:15But just, you know, how passing games have sucked.
28:18And, you know, knowing Pete, I don't know, you know, you guys do a little bit.
28:22He said, I've told all these coaches, you guys got to stop being afraid.
28:26And, you know, like they get, they get, they get defensive about it.
28:30I'm not the one that's afraid. And he said, he said, yes, you are.
28:34You know, you think running the ball is going to be successful.
28:37He told, he told, he told me, he said, I told Joe Brady when James Cook runs the ball, the defense wins
28:43because you're taking the ball out of Josh Allen's hands.
28:46You know? So like, that's how aggressive he's being with his, his take on this, that passing game has been absolutely abysmal.
28:53But it's interesting. So wait, wait, question. Yeah, maybe.
28:55How long do you think this kind of downward trend, you, this is a more than one season issue with passing games, right?
29:02You're saying? The last two seasons have been eight and then nine the year before in 2024, as far as 250 plus
29:08passing average per game, which is not even a lot.
29:11But I'll just bring up that 2024 included in this, right?
29:14As like a down passing season. It was a perfectly fine year for wide receivers.
29:18We had 29 wide receivers that year, average 14 or more points.
29:21It's not like last year. Yeah. Yeah. Last year we had 16.
29:25So last year was really bad. The year before that was not.
29:28The year before that was a normal wide receiver year.
29:31I'm not sure. Well, that is also just because we have the change.
29:35Like it's like the passing comes down because of the scheme, right?
29:38Because it's like teams are obviously like evolving to what they see on defense to high cover to cover through cover six.
29:44But then it's like last year was more of the 12 personnel.
29:48So it's actually the personnel is changing, right? Because there was still a lot of 11 personnel in 2024.
29:53And now we're moving toward teams drafting. What do we have?
29:56More tight ends drafted in this draft class than any class since like 2002 or something like that.
30:01So now teams are going to be using fewer receivers in general on the field.
30:06Yeah, maybe. All right. It's interesting. And I have had that thought.
30:09Like if you want to, if you want to lead wide receiver, you better get one early, but also the historic trends
30:15are that wide receivers, including last year, easier to find the best easier to find like must start guys later in drafts
30:21than at running back, at least over a full season.
30:24A guy like Chris Alave, a guy like Zay Flowers last year.
30:28Whereas you look at the top six running backs each of the last two seasons.
30:32So that's 12 running backs that have finished top six, 11 of them.
30:35Over the last two seasons have been drafted in the first two rounds compared to seven of the top six wide receivers.
30:42Well, I do think that's a great stat. And we have also run really lucky with injuries at running back over the last year.
30:48Yeah, that's true. Over the last year. And I also make this point, just a counterpoint with wide receivers.
30:54I don't really think running backs are that much more injury prone than wide receivers, but with wide receivers, you also have
31:00to worry about quarterback injuries because they will affect our starting running back.
31:04Right. But I think they will affect starting wide receivers more.
31:07Let's go to our next question. And you've done a great job convincing me on that, by the way, with your data
31:13and just like everything you've talked about, about the running back receiver.
31:16Thank you for the olive branch. This one's from Jaron.
31:19If Daniel Jones plays 17 games, he ends as quarterback what, Jamie?
31:2317. Really? So this is a big debate I've had with Jacob all off season because we initially did compare to our
31:29rankings a couple of weeks gone beyond the box score.
31:32He decimated my rankings live on air. And Daniel Jones was one of the ones that I was much higher on than
31:38him, which is weird because I don't believe in him.
31:41But I don't I think everybody just assumes he's not going to run this year.
31:45Why though? Like he's completely healthy, has no limitations in camp.
31:48And he's never been a quarterback that, in my mind, at least, that doesn't run like scrambling is part of his game
31:54when you're not a great solution finder. And last year, he more than doubled the next quarterback in first read target percentage.
32:01He threw 8.8% to his first read. The next was like 4.9 or something like that.
32:05When he doesn't see it there and Steichen doesn't design that first read, which he did a great job of last year, Steichen.
32:12Kudos to him. It's going to be a little harder this year when teams have tape on what Steichen and Jones are all about.
32:18He's going to scramble and that's just going to bring up both his floor and his ceiling as a quarterback.
32:24If he plays all 17 games, I think he's going to shock people and he's going to be just outside or inside that QB1 range.
32:31I kind of really like him for super flex.
32:34So just a couple of things. I think he could do that.
32:37But again, as we see quarterbacks mature and get older and come off significant injuries, did I say again?
32:42You did. Yeah. It's not either. But this says FFT Dynasty podcast plug.
32:46I guarantee that was supposed to be a Beyond the Boxscore podcast plug because this is an Adam, Dan, Jamie bingo board.
32:52Yeah. And we just got that. So yeah. Yeah.
32:55This is awesome. I think what we're going to end up seeing is just the design runs are not there and the scrambling gets cut in half.
33:03Well, here's the... No, I got to bring this up.
33:05Design runs I'm with you on. He ran less than ever last year.
33:09Yeah. He was really good last year. You know, ended up as QB14 per game.
33:13Again, the first read was open. That's why. Literally.
33:16Yeah. We also have a pretty significant downgrade in the receiving core across the board.
33:20Mm-hmm. Yeah. I mean, Alec Pierce literally looks like he's walking with a limp in the video I saw.
33:25I don't know what we're doing with Pierce, but I don't know.
33:29I'm ranking him so low right now. Yeah. Same.
33:31All right. Here's the one from Aaron. He says, hey, Chase, Joe, and T.
33:35Dan? Browns. Chase, Joe, and T. Yeah. I mean, he gave it away.
33:39These are the Browns players. I would have got there if Jamie hadn't done it first.
33:44Which Browns? Oh, which Browns? T. Higgins, Chase Brown, and Joe Burrow.
33:47Those Browns. Dan doesn't realize I'm Joe Burrow. Oh, no.
33:50I mean, Bengals, Bengals, Bengals. Oh, man. You got me.
33:53The fat shaming has really put me off on this show.
33:56What did he call me, Jamie? A slob? Or what was the word he used?
34:00I said you were overweight. No, you did not.
34:03No, you call him a slob. I said you were overweight, and Jamie went, whoa.
34:07If I called you a slob, no, his reaction was to the visceral slob word that you used.
34:12You did use the word slob. Slob, among other things, might have been even worse.
34:16The chat, remind us what he said about me.
34:19This is a guy who met an FFT listener.
34:21I shouldn't even say this. He might get mad at this.
34:24Yeah, I think so. I don't know what you're going to say.
34:28I don't know what you're going to say, but I think I will get mad.
34:32You guys, this is the question from Aaron. I've heard contradictory statements on the podcast about the Bengals.
34:37Things like Burrow could throw 5,000 yards, and their improved defense will help Chase Brown.
34:41And you seem super high on T. Higgins. Other than touchdowns, what does T.
34:45Higgins do well? If the Bengals' D is better, is Jamar Chase really worth the third overall pick?
34:50I guess he's kind of saying we've been contradictory.
34:53Jamie, the Bengals, I guess give me a season outlook here for them.
34:575,000 yards is a big ask in today's offensive environment, but if there is a team that can get close to it,
35:03I think the Bengals would be on the top of the list.
35:06Clearly, we need to have a healthy Joe Burrow for the majority of the season.
35:10I think all four players, quarterback, two receivers, running back, can all be in the upper echelon of their respective positions.
35:16What does T. Higgins do well? Well, Dan likes to say this a lot.
35:20Touchdowns are hard to predict, but when there is a guy that can score touchdowns and has done it consistently, you kind of gravitate toward that.
35:28Well, he has 21 touchdowns in his last 27 games.
35:30Back-to-back seasons with 10-plus touchdowns, not playing full seasons in one of those.
35:34So, he's one of those guys I think that you could say 8-plus touchdowns is realistic, 10-plus touchdowns is on the table,
35:40and then you give him probably 1,000 yards to maybe 1,200 if he plays a full season and somewhere in the neighborhood of 75 catches.
35:47So, for me, that's a high-end number two receiver.
35:50You bake in the injury risk that probably puts him back into round three beginning of round four.
35:55Jamar Chase says he wants 23 touchdowns. I'm not going to bet against him.
35:59I'm not going to bet on that, but I think we're looking at a guy that can be close to the touchdown leader.
36:06He already did that two years ago when he was a Triple Crown winner.
36:09So, yes, the Bengals' defense will be better. Does not mean the Bengals' defense is great.
36:14So, we can have – you know, this is such a myth.
36:17You can still have a great offense with a great defense.
36:21You don't have to have a great offense with a bad defense.
36:24It doesn't mean, okay, yeah, your defense is good.
36:26Well, your offense sucks. Like, the Rams are going to score a lot of points.
36:31The Bengals should still score plenty of points with an improved defense.
36:34Dallas should still score plenty of points with an improved defense.
36:37So, I don't think you look at it and say defense is better.
36:41That means the offense sucks. So, I'm drafting Joe Burrow as a top-five quarterback.
36:45I'm drafting Chase Brown as a top-five running back.
36:47And Jamar Chase, number-one receiver. Tee Higgins, top 15.
36:50It is now time for Adam to share a word document, okay?
36:53This is Joe Burrow's pass attempts per game in his healthy games, matched up with Cincinnati's defensive rank.
36:58You see, in year two, they were 17th in defense, and he only threw 32.5 pass attempts per game.
37:04I don't know what that was all about. But in year three, I believe this was their Super Bowl year, the Bengals
37:10were fifth in defense, and he threw 37.9 pass attempts per game in his healthy games.
37:15And he's been 38.7, 38.4, 35.1 last year, which I expect to be even higher than that.
37:19They will throw plenty. And they don't really have – they're not a physical ground-and-pound run team.
37:24They're trying to become one somehow. They don't have the personnel for that.
37:28They're going away from that so fast. Looking at the first play where Burrow went under center play action and took a
37:34sack, I was looking at that, and I didn't know he threw a dig route to Chase later last night.
37:40But I was looking at him like, they are so going away from this whole thing so fast this season.
37:45I think they'll be the first team to go away from everyone.
37:49The Giants, the Bengals, the Ravens, all these teams trying to get their quarterbacks under center.
37:53To me, the Bengals are the first team to go away from it.
37:57What are you laughing at? I'm laughing at an email that we just got, like a draft-a-thon email.
38:02I'm laughing at the chat, so we have two things we're laughing at.
38:06MB Spam, what is this broke word doc? Is this how the Acer stats are calculated?
38:10Is this how you calculate your stats? Hey, listen, man.
38:13This is part of my Joe Burrow research because you might go – not you, but someone out there might go, well,
38:19they're going to have a better defense. They're not going to throw as much.
38:23We've got to do the research and say, hey, they went to the Super Bowl one year.
38:28They had the fifth best defense, and he threw 38 times per game.
38:32So, like – I think the bigger concern is it's 2026, and you're using Word.
38:36What should I be using? Google Sheets, Google Docs, Excel.
38:39This is on my laptop. I can upload it to Google Docs after.
38:42This is my – I just copied it. Excel, Sheets seems like a better use of like a numbers-based – Yeah, a numbers-based Sheets, a number-based thing.
38:50You don't need a doc. It's part of the full Joe Burrow analysis.
38:54There's a lot of words in there. Excel wouldn't work for that.
38:57Seemed like a lot of numbers, not words. Well, that – because I just took the numbers part out.
39:03Okay. All right. This is from Michael, and he says, Dear Jeremy, Mark, Evan, and Isaiah.
39:07Jeremy, Mark, Evan, and Isaiah. Isaiah, Isaiah likely Mark Andrews.
39:10Nope. Shockey. Evan Ingram. No. Bavaro, Shockey. Dan, the fact that Jamie got that.
39:14Giant side ends. Come on, man. I mean, I would have got there eventually.
39:18Jamie's just good at this game. I'm not. We've established that a long time ago.
39:22I have the fourth pick in a 12-team PPR league.
39:25I was planning to take Puka Nakua, but with the groin and the suspension potentially looming, should I pivot to Amon Ross St.
39:31Brown or Christian McCaffrey or JSN? And what are you guys doing at four right now?
39:36We did a draft this morning, and Nakua went eighth, I think.
39:39The way I see it is JSN almost entirely – wildly unlikely to repeat in last season.
39:44He's probably the biggest regression candidate in fantasy football.
39:47I still think he'll be very good, but not at that level, where I would pass on a Puka.
39:52McCaffrey's the only one I would consider, because McCaffrey can outscore Puka.
39:55The rest of them can outscore Puka. I don't think he's getting suspended either.
39:59If he gets suspended, we're probably looking at two games max, just because he hasn't been convicted of anything.
40:05I would think the groin injury is a little bit more concerning.
40:08Didn't he have a hamstring injury last year at the start of camp, or was that just Stafford's back injury that dropped?
40:14I think it was just the Stafford back that was getting us last year.
40:18I thought there might have been something for him too.
40:21He was a great value pick last year. This may scare some people off.
40:25He's still working off on the side, so it's not like he's just sitting out completely.
40:30I think if we get to the end of August and he's still out, and we're doing drafts then, then he should fall for me.
40:37He's still the fourth overall pick. If you want to go to a different receiver, you can go to the other two guys.
40:43All right, next up we have Matt in Canada.
40:46Oh, actually, next up we have a commercial break.
40:48Matt in Canada says, if all 32 starting running backs decide to take a spaceship to Mars for the next six months,
40:55how would you rank the top five of those left here on Earth?
40:58Great question. We'll come back after this. That's a good question.
41:01Yeah, on Fantasy Football today. Hey, before we jump back into the show, let's take a quick break, but not just any break.
41:08This is a refreshing break with Snapple. We all know about Snapple's iconic real facts, so let's take a minute to go over some of my faves.
41:15Snapple real fact, one, nine, eight, three. The first player drafted to play pro football never played in the league.
41:21Snapple real fact, one, one, one, nine. The Grand Canyon could hold about 900 trillion footballs.
41:26Snapple real fact, two, zero, six, four. The first college football game broadcast on TV was on September 30th, 1939.
41:31Snapple real fact, one, eight, nine, six. The tradition of playing football on Thanksgiving originated with college football in 1876.
41:37So grab a Snapple, take a second, and enjoy the moment, because let's be honest, this might be the most refreshing part of your day.
41:44Snapple, make your break more interesting. All right, now let's get back to the show.

42:22Visit yearup.org to learn more. All right, again, if all 32 starting running backs take a spaceship to Mars for the next
42:28six months, how would you rank the top five running backs of those left here on Earth?
42:33And I'm going to answer this question under the assumption that I'm just ranking them based on their talent, not based on
42:39their fantasy situation, or am I ranking it based on fantasy?
42:43I think it's got to be fantasy. Okay. And who are the 32 starters?
42:47Because we have some questions in certain backfields. The only one...
42:50You have to just... Yeah. I think my guess...
42:52I don't know if that'll be your answer, though.
42:55We'll see. To me, the first two that came to mind are Corum and Menongai.
42:59Right? Those are one and two. I don't know about Menongai, too.
43:02Maybe not Menongai. They're in the top five. They're in the top five.
43:06Yeah, yeah. Corum and Menongai, for sure. I wish he was healthy.
43:09I could say Jordan James, but I can't because he's not healthy, so I can say him, but that would be a good one.
43:16Let's see. Corum and Menongai. I... Not Ray Davis because I think that...
43:20PPR? Ty would play. Yeah, we'll do PPR. Why not?
43:23Gainwell's in my top five. Ooh, interesting. Gainwell was awesome last year when he got the chance to start for the Steelers.
43:29That is true. So different. They just... Wouldn't they use Tucker more?
43:32Yeah, they do have Sean Tucker. That one scares me.
43:35Bigsby. Tank Bigsby's a really good one. Right? That's great.
43:38I don't know. I don't know if he's going to catch the ball.
43:42Doesn't. I don't know if it matters. Barkley didn't catch the ball in 2024.
43:46You know, Chris Rodriguez is a good player, but yeah.
43:49Yeah, anyone with Liam Cohen, but... He doesn't catch the ball.
43:52Hmm. I would say my top ones are Corum, Bigsby for Fantasy.
43:55Oh, Travion. Who? Travion. Oh, Travion's one. Yeah, Travion's one.
43:58I don't know. I don't think they... I think they find other dudes to put in there.
44:03No. Now we're getting so nitpicky on this. It's just who's the backup and how good are they?
44:08No, it's based on their fantasy situation and how the teams use them.
44:11My top five would be... Who's going to actually be a workhorse?
44:15I'll go Henderson one, Corum two, Monongai three, don't want to put Gainwell four?
44:19Pacheco? No. I mean, to walk into the Lions situation, not bad.
44:22Already hurt. Mike Washington. May lose his job to Vocky.
44:25But if you draft him before Gibbs... I'm going to go Henderson one, Corum two, Monongai three, Vidal four, Gainwell five.
44:31Vidal, I completely disagree on Vidal. I think Keaton Mitchell better than Vidal.
44:35Yeah, that's a problem for Vidal. I wouldn't be in Vidal.
44:38Yeah, but Keaton Mitchell is not being in every down back.
44:41Neither is Vidal. I think they eat into each other too much.
44:44Oh, I'm sorry. Take out, Vidal. Ray Davis four, Canada game one five.
44:48Okay. Tajay Spears would be in my top five.
44:50No, no way. 100%. No way. That Titans offense looks like it could be trash.
44:55You're again, you're nitpicking too much. This guy would dominate touches.
44:58Not nitpicking. It's fantasies about situations. You would dominate touches.
45:01Dominate. Please. All right. Thanks, Matt, for making us hate each other even more.
45:05This one's from Ryan. Dear Adam, the greatest fantasy football host in the world.
45:09Wow. It's a shocker. You read this one. Yeah.
45:11Well, I knew Dan was on the show. I had to put something on here to boost my confidence.
45:16Oh, you manipulated it again? Okay, go ahead. No.
45:19When you guys say greater late for tight end, how late is too late?
45:23Is late considered Kincaid in the ninth round? Don't take him in the ninth round.
45:27He should be going later than that. Or more like likely in the twelfth round.
45:31He's not going to make it to the twelfth round.
45:34He's not making it as well. Yeah. Switch those rounds.
45:37That's a good question. I'm not a greater. I don't say greater late.
45:41Is this something you say, Jamie? So I let you answer this.
45:44No, this is something that Adam came up with like four years ago and he's jokingly gives Jamie credit for it.
45:50No, because I would say it on other shows giving you credit and then people would give me credit and then come
45:56on and be like, oh, you guys have that greater late theory.
46:00It's so awesome. Dude, you guys are Jamie. Is this another thing you claim, Adam, that's not true?
46:05Let me tell you something. I called Dan a few days ago about something work-related and Dan goes, and by the way,
46:11when we played our practice match, I knew Dan was playing with his dad the next day.
46:16Dad, his parents, lovely people, by the way. Very nice people.
46:19Broad-chested? No, I don't know where Dan came from, but Dan says to me, I just let you know I haven't picked up a racket since we played.
46:27And then a couple minutes ago, did you play with your dad?
46:30The next day he goes, yeah, we played. It was doubles with me and my dad.
46:35It was me and my seven-year-old dad versus my friend Gary and his seven-year-old dad.
46:39But you didn't use a racket for that. You just used your hands.
46:43That was, unfortunately. And then luckily for me, I got in a set with my brother last weekend.
46:48Thank God. I need to try to find a way to play before our set.
46:52You played him last week before the phone call with me where you said you hadn't picked up No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
46:59Was the phone call this week? Yes, it was like three days ago.
47:03And I did lie to you about that. Such a liar.
47:06Wow. He's such a liar, this guy. Unbelievable. I did get one set with him in Brooklyn.
47:11All right, greater late is, I would say it's like basically the top 12 tight ends.
47:16It's like that, where you're going like likely Goddard, Kelsey, late or Kittle if he falls there as opposed to great.
47:21But it would be avoiding, I don't really know if I subscribe to it this year because we like the tight end position better.
47:28It would be avoiding guys like Fannin and Pitts and Laporta in the mid rounds.
47:32That's usually actually what I do. Well, I think it's also like if you like the position, you don't have to spend
47:39the premium price tag on Bowers and McBride. Yeah.
47:41But it is avoiding the mid round guys. That's what it is.
47:45That's what it is. And I had that conversation with Jacob on yesterday, show with him one before for Beyond the Box.
47:51And I was just like, he loves Fannin and he thinks that's a great value.
47:55I don't want to take anyone there. And he's like, I guess the debate is this year, do those guys have enough upside?
48:02Because I do like to avoid them usually. And I'm curious what you think on this, Jamie.
48:06Those guys have enough upside. The Fannin craft, I'll just put it at.
48:10Maybe likely you want to throw that in there to outweigh what you're giving up at receiver and running back from a depth standpoint at that point.
48:18Because you're taking at that point most likely a backup or flex depending on how big your league is.
48:23And I never feel like those tight ends are worth it, but they might be this year.
48:28I think they will be this year if they hit, but that's the problem that we run into a coordinator change in a very crowded offense.
48:35We're asking a lot of Harold Fannin to do what he did last year in now a crowded offense.
48:41We're asking Kyle Pitts, who's never been consistent, to be consistent.
48:44There's a lot of questions. I wish I could share what we're laughing about, but it's not appropriate.
48:49Not appropriate at all. Guys, we've got 10 minutes left.
48:52We need eight of them for Dan to tell a story.
48:55So let's fly through the rest of these emails from Ace.
48:58Do you think Travion Henderson is a bigger, faster version of James White in the Josh McDaniels offense, a PPR Pac-Man?
49:04No. I mean, James White could block and run routes the right way.
49:08Yeah, I don't think so. Did you know that Ramondre Stevenson had a better yards-per-out run last year than Travion Henderson?
49:13Yeah, he had his best receiving season ever, though, so I'm not really buying that from Travion.
49:18And he's looked in camp so far. He's been doing work in the passing game from what I've seen.
49:24He's been good. That's why Travion's not James White.
49:26This is from Gunner. I wish I had had a chance to look into this, Gunner.
49:31I'm sorry. I just saw this email this morning.
49:33Do you have any data on how it has worked out in the fantasy world for guys drafted in the first half
49:39of the first round alongside a teammate? Gibbs and Amon Ross St.
49:43Brown are the only ones I can think of, and I'm curious if this should be a red flag.
49:48So what is it? The first half? Say it again.
49:51Like two top six, or you can extend it, top eight, whatever, on the same team.
49:56What do we have? It doesn't happen this year.
49:58What do we even have with that? Cowboy? No, the Lions.
50:01Oh, the Lions. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Gibbs and Amon Ross.
50:04Did we have this last year? I'm trying to remember.
50:07Gibbs and Amon Ross were both top nine picks last year, so it's not that far off.
50:12Yeah, right. I think really if you just say first round picks, like how many players are on the same team.
50:18They both paid off beautifully. Yeah. I'm looking. I mean, you could have Bijan in London this year.
50:23We've had mistakes like Brees Hall and Garrett Wilson on a bad offense.
50:26But that was round three. No, no, three years ago.
50:29That was round one. That was round one. 2024.
50:32Not two years ago. Wilson was more like the turn.
50:35Garrett Wilson. I'm looking at Fantasy Pro's ADP right now.
50:37Brees Hall pick four or five. I remember that.
50:40Garrett Wilson 12th. Hmm. Yeah, it was a mistake.
50:43But that's that's why you don't take bad. That was the Rogers first year Rogers when Kelsey and Hill going round one.
50:49That's a good question. They must have. No, Kelsey took him a while to go to round one, even when he was dominating.
50:55Listen, man, if two players on the same team are going to be worth round one picks, they're going to have to be on really good offense.
51:03And the Lions are fit that mold. Right. So the Falcons is the tough one to buy, right?
51:08Yeah. Oh, yeah. And I've seen people like be like, I took B.
51:12John Robinson in round one. Drake London fell to me in round two, but I didn't want to do it because it almost happened with you, Jamie.
51:19Like, oh, no, it didn't. You took Jefferson. You took a shoot.
51:23I'm sorry. You took chase. Let's say you had started with B.
51:26John at pick four and London had been there today in the half PPR draft.
51:30Would you have done it? No. OK. I think the stat that Jamie referenced a bunch is great stat.
51:36You've pulled. I've heard you say it upon a bunch of T's.
51:39The only reason I don't I feel comfortable taking B.
51:42John that high, which is to his percentage targeting running backs.
51:45I'm very nervous about London and and B. John this year.
51:48Both of them that that Falcons offense could be much worse than people think potentially.
51:52All right. We've got. Let's see, Bob. This will be our last one here.
51:56Bob thinks we're sleeping on Jadarian price. What am I missing?
51:59He asks. Well, you're missing the fact that Charbonnet is ahead of schedule on his ACL recovery.
52:04And from what I've heard, it's like the good ACL.
52:07I don't even know what that means anymore. The good ACL.
52:10Whenever I hear that, I think of the curb your enthusiasm skit with the Hodgkins disease, the good and the bad Hodgkins.
52:16But apparently he's got the good ACL. He's coming back faster than expected.
52:20And if you draft price and then Charbonnet is back, what's the upside there?
52:24We know Charbonnet is handling all the red zone work.
52:27So now you've kind of got a dead zone back at that point, unless you think he's that good that he can,
52:33I guess, score from distance because he's not going to get a lot of receptions or at least it wasn't on his college profile Jadarian price.
52:40And if he loses red zone work, it doesn't feel like a good bet to me.
52:45And it sounds like they're going to use even when Charbonnet is out there.
52:49Halani. Yeah. They are going to use Halani. Yeah, they'll use him.
52:52I'm not convinced that Charbonnet is just going to get basically all of the goal line work like he did last year
52:59because two years ago, same coach, same head coach, different coordinator.
53:02But again, they've recorded this year. Ken Walker actually had more of the goal line work when he was healthy.
53:07I think he played 11 games that year. He had more of the goal line work than Charbonnet that season.
53:13I would expect Charbonnet would have more goal line carries, but I don't know that he'll have the, like, basically, he was
53:19that guy last year with a few exceptions when he was on the field.
53:23So it might be a little bit more even there than it was last season.
53:27But Ken Walker was, I think he was RB28 last year.
53:31And he had a really, he played well last year.
53:33He wasn't RB28 because he stunk. He was RB28 because they didn't throw to him and he didn't score touchdowns.
53:39So that's the issue there. But I'm, I am not worried at all about George Helani like really hurting Jadarian Price.
53:45Yeah, it's one thing if we were taking... But you should be.
53:48Well, no, because if I were taking him in the first round or the second or the third, I wouldn't take him
53:55at the fifth or the sixth round. Oh, no, no, no, no.
53:58Where you're taking Price is perfect. You know, round five, round six range is absolutely perfect.
54:02But you still, when you look at the evaluation, the evaluation is, it could be George Helani, it could be Emmanuel Wilson, it could be Dan Schneier.
54:10They're going to use somebody else there. Oh, it can't be me.
54:14I would not be able to play football. Yeah, I'm...
54:16Well, I mean, according to Adam, I'd be beefed up enough to...
54:20I would be... Play guard. ...out of commission in the first, play guard.
54:23Last year, Zach Charbonnet had the fifth highest percentage of team touches inside the 10-yard line when healthy.
54:29I don't see that going down by too much for Jerry.
54:32It just makes sense that if his knee is right but not full, you know, full go, Zach Charbonnet, like use him
54:38in a short yardage role and keep him fresh.
54:40Yeah, I agree. So, I also just, I've mentioned this before, I don't know that we know how good Jadarian Price is.
54:47There have been plenty of guys drafted in that range in the NFL draft like Rashad Penny and Sonny Michel and Clyde
54:53Edwards-Elair just because they were in the first round doesn't mean they're that good.
54:57He didn't really have a lot of work in college, so he's still a bit of an unknown.
55:02All right, Dan, we got four minutes left. Let's get the bingo card out.
55:06Let's check off the golf story. This is the most.
55:09Half the bingo card filled out, very good, but take us home.
55:12This is the most Dan Schneier story of all Dan Schneier stories.
55:15Two Saturdays ago, a good friend of mine invited me to his country club to play Wachung Valley, beautiful course, love it.
55:22Play golf. So we play around, it's match play.
55:24It was a hot day. I was planning to walk.
55:27What's match play? What did you say? What's match play?
55:30Match play is, essentially works like this. There's 18 holes.
55:33If you win a hole versus your opponent, you get one basically point for that.
55:37So it's not like total strokes. Like you don't win by scoring an 88 versus a 92.
55:42It makes it a little bit more fair. Plus, like with the handicap, I had to give him like six strokes or whatever it was.
55:49So you give him a chance, whatever. So anyway, I'm planning to walk and carry that day, but it's like 95 degrees.
55:55So I get convinced by my friend to ride in the car.
55:58My friend, Kevin's riding, driving our, our golf cart.
56:01He's has the scorecard because he's the driver. The way he does his scorecard, he needs the whole scorecard because he keeps
56:07stats on like fairways hit and chips, all sorts of stuff.
56:10So it's taking up the whole thing. So he, he can't keep my score because he needs the whole scorecard.
56:16So I'm like, whatever. Like Scott, my other friend who invited me is keeping score of our match.
56:21So he's writing down every score every time. So just keep that in mind.
56:25Scott's keeping score the entire day. This is the only time I've ever golfed in my life.
56:30Literally the only time where I haven't kept score as I golfed.
56:33So I'm having the round of my life out here.
56:36At one point, I go seven pars in a row.
56:39And so when you start to do that in your head, the thing with golf is you never want to jinx yourself.
56:45Like I'm kind of, I don't think I would have played this well and scored this well if I had kept the
56:51score in my card because I would have seen how well I was doing because I wasn't.
56:56I think it helped me, but I didn't want to ask anything about what my score was or anything like that.
57:02But I knew with seven pars in a row and a birdie on the front, I had a shot at something real.
57:08Like previously, my best score was an 83 at the null.
57:11And this is a harder course. One 37 slope.
57:14We played from the green 62, 99 yards. Just want to get that all out there before I get to the final of the story.
57:21So I go seven pars in a row. We get to 18 and finally, my friend Scott who's keeping score the whole
57:27time says, do you want to know where you're at?
57:30Do you want to know what you need? And when I said, when he said, do you want to know what you need?
57:37I knew what that meant. It meant you have a real shot to break 80, which is insane.
57:42So he goes, he's keeping score the whole round.
57:44He goes, you need a birdie. It was a par five.
57:47You need a birdie to break 80. So we hit it.
57:50I hit a good drive. Second shot's good. I have 120 left.
57:54I go onto the green with a pitching wedge from 120 out and I have a birdie putt of like 12 feet to break 90 in my head.
58:02What I thought was to break, no 80, sorry, to break 80 in my head.
58:06I hit the putt. It's a solid putt, honestly, for a break 80 putt, but I didn't play the break perfectly and
58:12it rolls to like less than a foot and I tap it in for par.
58:16Anyway, the round's over and I'm so excited. I shot 80.
58:20It's my best score ever. I text, this is what you do.
58:23I mean, maybe it's just me because I'm an idiot, but this is what, and I'm sure other people do this.
58:29I text all these group chats. My brother, look what I just broke 80.
58:33Whatever. The next day, on Sunday, I post my scorecard or maybe it was later that day on Twitter.
58:38I post my scorecard like PR, best round ever.
58:41I shot 80 and I post the scorecard Scott gave me and on the scorecard, he writes down a score for the
58:47front and the back and then he writes down the total score, 80 and then all our other scores like his score, his dad's and my friend Kevin.
58:55Please tell me you got it wrong. This is, I post it wrong.
58:59Two days later, about 72 hours later, I post the scorecard.
59:02A listener of the podcast DMs me. He's like, hey Dan, I don't know what happened here, but your score adds up to 79.
59:09Whoa. It's like, you got a 41 on the front and a 38 on the back and I went back and I
59:15looked at it and I'm like, oh my God, I'm in a pure panic mode because I'm celebrating and so I texted
59:21Scott and Kevin who I was there and played the round with and I was like, guys, my listener said I shot 79.
59:27We said we shot 80. Like, what happened here?
59:30And we went over every hole from the, like literally all 18 and we're like, nope, that was scored right and every
59:36single hole was scored correctly and written correctly. He just totaled it wrong and added it wrong.
59:41So I'm the only guy ever to break 80 and not get the moment of celebration after the moment he broke 80.
59:47Like, I was there, I thought I shot an 80 which I was happy about but there's a difference and so I
59:53went 72 hours without knowing it and now some of these groups that I sent this message to about shooting an 80
60:00that day, I feel some kind of awkwardness to going back and being like, hey, guys, actually, remember that 80?
60:05Remember that 80 I told you I shot? Well, actually, it was a 79.
60:09So technically, like, he wrote it wrong and like, now I'm like, I can't do it.
60:14you can't. But then at the same time, they think I never broke an 80 before and so it's...
60:19If you're the type of guy to go bragging right after the round, go back and send the same stupid text messages.
60:25Probably right. Probably no one cares in general. You should bring up something else and then, like, hey, did you watch the House of the Dragon?
60:33Oh, by the way, FYI, anyway, is breaking 80 like a huge deal?
60:36It's an insane deal. I didn't, I've taken a huge jump this year but to the point where like, if I do
60:43play Thomas, producer Thomas, the last time we played was two years ago.
60:46He probably just destroyed me by like 12 or 13 strokes.
60:49I wasn't even anywhere near his level. Now I feel like I actually have a legitimate chance to maybe beat him which is insane.
60:56By the way, I'm going to let you know, you're probably going to need to take a golf cart from the baseline to the chair in between games.
61:04Just let you know. There's a difference between golf shape and tennis shape and I am certainly not in tennis shape right now.
61:11Nope. Thank you. This is an outdoor court, right?
61:13Yeah. I hope not. Is it outdoor? We're playing outdoors?
61:16Bro, I am so screwed. That's what I'm saying.
61:19Three points, you're going to be done. Oh, I am so screwed.
61:22We're playing outdoors. Now listen, I can't play in the What day are we doing?
61:26This is the 20th? Thursday. Thursday. I don't know what I'm going to do.
61:30Let me check the old forecast. I'm going to have to eat really good.
61:34I already checked the forecast, like 93 degrees inside.
61:37All right, Jamie, next week I'm going to be in the office, which I'm excited about getting to see all you guys.
61:43Let's not, I'm sure we'll go out to a lunch at some point.
61:47Let's make it salads and stuff. I got to be really careful next week.
61:51Oh, you're going to get, you're going to get 61% chance of rain on Thursday.
61:55How much? That's not good. 61%. But that's Florida.
61:57Isn't it always 60%? Oh, that's bad. Why? Isn't it always like that?
62:0151% means 90. Really? But at what time? Four o'clock.
62:04Always four o'clock. No, no, no, no. We'll be fine.
62:07No, it always rains at like 11 o'clock. We'll be fine.
62:10We'll be fine. I didn't, I thought we were playing indoors in like a cool arena.
62:14Why would you come down here to play indoors?
62:17Because it's Florida in the middle of August. There's no, there really are no indoor courts, but indoor courts get even hotter than outdoor.
62:24You don't have to deal with the sun, but you're right.
62:27That indoor court experience last year was one of the hot.
62:30I've never played in anything like that. Last year when we played that match, Jamie said it best on air.
62:36I think with Heath, he thought I might die in that second set.
62:39I was potential. I was very close to collapsing on the court, which is really an insane thing as a 35 year old to collapse on the court.
62:47What'd you say? Weigh-ins. Yeah, where I'm at right now.
62:50And it's crazy. Last year I did such a good job.
62:53I gotta go. Are we, wait, before we go, do we, we have Jamie, you're going to be there in heat or not Heath.
63:00I know. And Dave, correct? Yeah, but I really gotta go.
63:03I'll be there. Yeah. And I want you both as line judges for this match.
63:07I thought I'm commentating. I think if they're watching and I need line judges for this match, I think that we can appeal to them.
63:14Like we make our own calls. No, I want line judges for this match.
63:18No, Dan, they're not tennis players. Like they're going to get things wrong.
63:22Okay. You need experience doing it. What are we idiots?
63:25No, but you need experience. Like seeing the ball, like just barely scrape over the line.
63:29I've written about professional tennis in my life. Jamie can spot a line.
63:33I think he's got eyes. I mean, you need experience.
63:36You want to throw rookies out there. Let's get some FFT listeners to come up and be line judges.
63:41Again, again, again, you can call him all the things you want.
63:45Don't be told me. Oh, dude. And nice. Nice.
63:47Well done, Jamie. Make his life harder in the editing room.
63:50Post show. I love it. We'll talk to you later on fantasy football today.
63:54Thanks everybody. Podcasts.
