1:54Terms apply. Welcome to the show. It's Beat the Waver Wire for Week 7 right now on Fantasy Football Today Express.
2:00Press. Adam Azer, Dave Richard here. Hey, happy Blue Hoodie Day, Dave.
2:04Thanks. Happy Beat the Waver Wire Day. Who's the headliner?
2:07I don't know if there's a great headliner, Adam.
2:10I'm going to go with Tyler Higbee, who's rostered in 52% of CBS Sports Leagues.
2:15You could use him this week against Arizona. You can use him next week against Vegas.
2:20You might be able to use him against the Chargers, the Commanders, and the Cardinals after that.
2:25Six-plus targets and 11-plus PPR points in each of his last three games.
2:29The only thing you really have to worry about is whether or not it's a byproduct.
2:34Those numbers are a byproduct of his role in the offense or Matthew Stafford throwing so much.
2:39And what we've really seen the last two weeks is that it's a slim target share for Tyler Higbee.
2:45And so if there is a game where you think Stafford's only going to throw 30 times, that's going to be bad for Tyler Higbee.
2:53But I'm not sure if those games exist because the Rams love what they're doing through the air, and I don't see them completely getting away.
3:01I don't know about 50 pass attempts, but maybe 35 pass attempts against the Arizona and Raiders and Washingtons of the world.
3:08Raiders? I don't know why I didn't say the Vegases, but it is what it is.
3:13All right. Well, we might need quarterbacks, and we talked about this with the Jalen Hurts injury.
3:18And who would you recommend for this week and next week maybe?
3:22Well, let's just start with this, and we probably should have mentioned this at the top.
3:27Josh Allen's on by next week. Trevor Lawrence is on by next week.
3:31Jaden Daniels is on by next week. So if you heard the name of your starting quarterback, you need to pay attention
3:38and look to see who you can find. I prefer Jameis Winston for this week, but I would not recommend him next week.
3:45So if you want to play the mix and match game, yeah, he's got New Orleans this week.
3:50I would take the chance on him. He's out there in two-thirds of CBS Sports Leagues.
3:55If you're a little lazier and you want somebody that you can start this week and next week, there's two names for you.
4:02There's Aaron Rodgers, and there's Jacoby Brissett. But they're out there in at least half for in the case of Rodgers of
4:09CBS Leagues and about a third in the case of Jacoby Brissett.
4:13I do like Rodgers' schedule moving forward better because it's Tampa, it's New Orleans, it's Cleveland.
4:18Brissett's got Denver in week seven, and he's got Dallas in week eight.
4:22If Denver's healthy, that's going to be a bad matchup.
4:25But that week eight game against Dallas could be really nice.
4:28Other quarterbacks, and this is if you're desperate for week seven, Deshaun Watson, Geno Smith, and Tanner McKee.
4:34But the winner is Kyler Murray, and we've talked about that schedule.
4:38Indy, Detroit, Buffalo, each of those three defenses have allowed 20 or more fancy points to at least three of the five
4:45quarterbacks they've played to this point this year. So Kyler Murray could be somebody that can help you get through those bye weeks.
4:52If your guy is on bye in week seven or week eight, what have you.
4:56Or if you're streaming the position, you find somebody else this week.
5:00It could be Jameis and then Kyler after that.
5:03All right, Dave. So that's a pretty good list of quarterbacks.
5:06How about tight end? No, not tight end. How about running back?
5:10We can go to tight end if you want to, man.
5:14You're calling the shots here. Yeah, we'll just running back.
5:17We'll save tight end. James Cook is on bye.
5:19Basial Tootin's on bye. The Chargers running backs are on bye.
5:23The Commander's running backs if you're using them. You know, maybe you're doing well once in a while with Ja'Cory Cross-Kamara, but
5:30they're on bye in week seven as well. You could look at Dylan Sampson, who is on IR as we're recording this, but the window's been open.
5:38He could be available to play in week six, certainly could play in week seven.
5:43And you've got to see what's up with Quinshot Judkins.
5:46You've got to see what's up with Jaleel McLaughlin.
5:49But he's got the Ravens in week six. He's got the Titans in week seven, Adam.
5:54I like that matchup against Tennessee. And Sampson, someone who's been with the team, certainly has been used in passing down situations, could have that role.
6:02And maybe a little bit more on top of it in the run game if there's no Quinshot Judkins.
6:08If you can't get him, it's Tyler Algier. And Algier's rostered already in 60% of leagues.
6:13I like the matchup for him against Denver in week seven.
6:16If you're in a pinch, if you've got problems this week in a pinch, as it were, Jeremiah Love didn't practice on Thursday.
6:23Just as an example, you can turn to Algier, obviously.
6:26If there's no Jeremiah Love, Algier being the feature back, he would see the majority of the high value touches in Arizona.
6:33That's not bad. But Damian Pierce is out there in about half of CBS Sports Leagues.
6:38Keaton Mitchell in week six, 55% rostered. You can't use him in week seven.
6:42Tyche Spears, Kendra Miller. I didn't say this list was pretty.
6:46I'm saying if you're in a pinch and you need a running back who you could put in and expect in the
6:53neighborhood of eight PPR points, I would say Pierce is the headliner, followed by Mitchell, Spears, Kendra Miller.
6:58And then if there's no Jeremiah Love, Tyler Algier would jump right to the top.
7:03And that's for week six, you're saying? Because we don't know.
7:06Barkley might be back in week seven. It's possible that Barkley is back for week seven in that game against Dallas.
7:13Yes. Yeah. I mean, look, he hasn't been ruled out for week six, but he hasn't practiced yet.
7:18Another name that I don't like so much, but I just looking at the Giants situation and Cam Scadaboo, most running backs,
7:25if they had fumbled four times in their first five games, would probably have lost their job already.
7:31And the game hasn't been played yet. I don't even know what to expect on Sunday, but I expect Scadaboo to be the main guy.
7:39But again, four fumbles in five games cost them a win in week five.
7:43So, you know, just keep an eye on that situation.
7:46I would guess Najee Harris, but he's been so bad that maybe they go Tracy, but I would guess it's Harris.
7:53I don't know how much they trust Tracy. Look at what happened to him after one fumble.
7:58I know, right? It's crazy. By the way, by the way, Kamani Vidal's name deserves to be mentioned.
8:03His film has looked good over the last two weeks.
8:07He's been more effective as a runner than Omari and Hampton and Keaton Mitchell.
8:11Touchdowns in each of his last two games, just not getting a lot of work.
8:16I wonder if that flips at some point. If it doesn't flip this week, it could flip in week eight if all
8:22the running backs stink in week six. He is one of the guys on a bye in week six.
8:28Right. So you'd have to carry him through the bye or just pick him up a week from now when he's on
8:35bye and no one else is looking at him.
8:38We'll be right back to talk about wide receivers and tight ends on Express.
8:42A few weeks ago, a neighbor down the street had someone walk right up onto their porch in the middle of the
8:49night, and it was a massive wake-up call. It made me realize that standard cameras are only good for replaying a crime after it happens.
8:57They don't actually stop someone from getting to your front door.
9:00That's the exact reason I switched to SimpliSafe. It isn't just about protecting my valuables.
9:05It's about making sure my home remains a safe sanctuary for my family.

9:52SimpliSafe, ahead of crime in real time. All right, I know one tight end, Tyler Higby.
9:57I look forward to hearing the rest. What about the wide receivers?
10:01Parker Washington's on by in week seven. DJ Moore, the other Bills receivers, Ladd McConkie, Terry McLaurin, Stephon Diggs.
10:07There's a lot of receivers that will be missing in week seven.
10:10Not quite as bad as it is in week six, though, obviously.
10:14A lot of studs that are missing in this upcoming week.
10:17And we haven't seen Rasheed Rice practice as of Thursday.
10:20So he might not play in week number six.
10:23This list is short and it's not very sweet.
10:26Kendrick Bourne headlines it. 28% rostered on CBS. So out there in over 70% of leagues.
10:31He's got the Rams this week. They're going to have to throw a lot against LA.
10:36Denver the week after that. He'll play more inside.
10:39He's an in-breaking route runner. So that's somebody who could pick up in the neighborhood of four or five catches and maybe
10:46open up to a couple of plays with some decent yak.
10:49Dontavian Wicks would be next up. And yeah, even with Tanner McKee, it's not very pretty.
10:54We don't know when Devontae Smith is going to come back.
10:57We don't know when Jalen Hurts is going to come back.
11:01But the rest of the receiver list is gross.
11:04It's Kalief Raymond hoping that maybe something was sparked in those first two weeks with Caleb Williams and those two pick that up from where they left off.
11:12And then you've got to look at that situation in Kansas City and it's Cyrus Allen and it's Jalen Royals.
11:19And I don't think Royals would come into play unless Rasheed Rice were out.
11:23But if Rasheed Rice is out, Royals has worked in the slot.
11:27I think that's a role he can handle. And Cyrus Allen could be more of a downfield threat.
11:32We've seen some flashes from Cyrus Allen going back to the preseason.
11:36And there's certainly some opportunity for him. Patrick Mahomes talked about it for both of these guys this week saying that they've had the week's worth of practice.
11:45They know what is in front of them and what opportunities are in front of them.
11:50I just don't know if you can really trust them in fantasy, but stashing them in case that there's a serious injury
11:57for Rasheed Rice or that Cyrus Allen carves out a role for himself in week six.
12:01Yeah, that's somebody I wouldn't mind having on my bench.
12:05So Cyrus Allen is a decent stash as well.
12:07Yeah, I'd pick up Casey Concepcion. He might even play this week, but he's 55% rostered.
12:12So I know he's not available in every league, but I like what I've been seeing from him.
12:18The nice thing of the targets have been pretty good.
12:21The nice thing about the Chiefs guys, they're available in over 90% of leagues.
12:25So, you know, you might be, Cater Bourne, don't even wish these guys aren't available in my league.
12:31Okay, Dave, who else to stash at tight end?
12:34I'm stealing your gimmick. He would be the top guy.
12:37Yeah, the other names suck. It's AJ Barner. It's KDOT and it's Mason Taylor.
12:41These are stashes for week seven. They have favorable matchups in week number seven.
12:46But the tight ends that are on by, it's Brenton Strange, Dalton Kincaid, Chico Conquo.
12:50These are not guys that fantasy managers are going to miss that much.
12:54Okay. Yeah, I don't have much to add there.
12:57There is something else to add because you have forgotten.
13:00Yes. I didn't forget that. Crucial. Yeah, you were about to wrap.
13:04No, I was not. I was going to wrap tight end and go right to DST.
13:09So do it. Is this you doing it? Yeah, let's go right to DST, which stands for Dave's Stupid Team.
13:15One of my stupid teams is 5-0, baby. Let's go.
13:18In the FFT Open, I might add. Ooh, let's go.
13:21Yeah, not bad. All right. Jaguars are the only DST that you'll miss that's on by in week number seven.
13:28The Panthers are getting Tanner McKee in week six.
13:30Then they've got Tampa in week seven. I don't know who Tampa's quarterback is going to be.
13:36I don't really care. They've allowed at least 10 fantasy points to three of the five DSTs they faced.
13:42One of them that didn't do it was Dallas.
13:44They stink. Carolina's defense. They're not great, but at least up front, they're pretty strong.
13:49The other DSTs that you could sash are the Browns.
13:52They've got the Titans. Titans have allowed at least 11 fantasy points to four of five DSTs.
13:57But wait, we can beat that because the Jets take on Miami.
14:01Every DST to play against Miami this year has had at least 10 fantasy points.
14:06And that Jets pass rush really got cooking last week.
14:09So maybe there's something there that can make the Jets an actual decent start.
14:13And they're out there in 60% of CBS sports leagues.
14:16All these DSTs are out there in right around 60% or more.
14:20In the case of the Panthers, we're talking 80%.
14:23So you're a five and oh in the FFT open, huh?
14:26Yes. In one of them. In my division. Yeah.
14:29I'm in three FFT open divisions and I do not have a combined five wins.
14:34Two and three, two and three. And for Mike, Mike and I have an oh and five team.
14:39That's been Colson Loveland to death basically. Do you remember when you asked me on our Sports Network show how many oh
14:46and three or oh and four teams I had?
14:49And I babbled on about, yeah, I think I have three.
14:52I had none. No, it was no winless ones.
14:55That's great. Yeah. Good job. Most of my teams have at least two wins.
15:00All right. Good season so far for Dave Richard.
15:02Not bad. Not great. Not bad. Talk to you tomorrow on Fantasy Football Today.
15:07See ya. Don't podcasts. College football season is Modelo season.
15:10There's nothing quite like a college football Saturday. The fight songs, the rivalries, the traditions passed down from one generation of fans to the next.
15:18And of course, they're settling in for a full day of football with Modelo.
15:22Because Saturdays are for the gridiron and Cervasus. College football is built on tradition.
15:26And no one knows tradition like Modelo. From the fan quakes that shake the stadium to the rivalry trophies that mean everything year after year.
15:34These traditions are what make Saturday special. So if you're listening to this, consider it your sign.
15:39Grab a Chris Modelo, settle in, and enjoy a full day of college football.
15:44Because it's just not game day. It's tradition. And those who keep college football traditions alive deserve a Modelo.
15:50Modelo is the official beer sponsor of the college football playoff.
15:53Drink responsibly. Modelo Especial Beer. Imported by Crown Imports, Chicago, Illinois.
15:56And enjoy.
