Aaron Rodgers

NegativeProjection50:56

Aaron Rodgers is a questionable fantasy asset who may struggle to outperform a running back 30 in any given week, making him a low-ceiling backup option.

Insight page
NegativeUsage62:05

There is a warning against having a low-ranked running back when relying on Aaron Rodgers as a quarterback, as it creates a disadvantage.

Insight page

Breece Hall

PositiveValue21:57

Breece Hall is identified as a high-upside player to target when punting on the quarterback position to build a strong roster elsewhere.

Insight page
PositiveValue30:30

Jamie views Breece Hall as a significant value pick in the sixth round, noting that despite a groin injury, he is poised for a bounce-back season. Jamie dismisses concerns about a committee approach, citing Hall's preseason usage and the team's offensive improvements under Geno Smith.

Insight page

Brock Bowers

PositiveValue20:00

Jamie selects Brock Bowers at 30th overall, noting that he is a high-value pick who typically does not fall that far in most drafts.

Insight page
PositiveValue21:58

Alfredo argues that the gap between elite tight ends like Bowers and the rest of the field is wider this year because most options from TE4 through TE10 are either old or injured, maintaining their value even in Superflex formats.

Insight page

C.J. Stroud

PositiveValue38:42

Jamie successfully drafted C.J. Stroud in the eighth round, identifying him as a key target he had been waiting for to solidify his quarterback position.

Insight page
NegativeProjection62:12

CJ Stroud is considered a non-ideal QB2, but competitive if the rest of the roster is strong.

Insight page

Carson Beck

NegativeRole59:17

Carson Beck was drafted by team three.

Insight page

Chris Olave

PositiveProjection26:49

Alfredo Brown defends Chris Olave against concerns, citing Tyler Shuck's ability to make intermediate and deep throws that fit the offense, suggesting Olave remains a strong value.

Insight page

Christian Watson

NegativeRole59:12

Christian Watson is rostered as the WR2 for team three.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

NegativeRole21:19

Colston Loveland was drafted in the fourth round; he is viewed as a 'make or break' pick because he is being drafted in the same range as Trey McBride, requiring elite production to justify the roster construction.

Insight page

Dak Prescott

PositiveProjection59:04

Dak Prescott is part of a strong quarterback duo for team three alongside Josh Allen.

Insight page

De'Von Achane

NegativeValue14:53

De'Von Achane was selected via auto-pick in the third round of the mock draft.

Insight page
NegativeUsage17:16

Alfredo Brown suggests taking De'Von Achane later than other running backs like Omari Hampton, implying a preference for other options in the Dolphins' backfield.

Insight page

DeVonta Smith

PositiveValue24:47

Alfredo Brown identifies Devonta Smith as a strong value pick in the third or fourth round, noting he was a primary target alongside Chris Olave.

Insight page

Drake London

NegativeProjection59:00

Drake London was selected by team three as a primary wide receiver option.

Insight page

Isaiah Likely

PositiveRole50:17

Isaiah Likely is expected to be a significant part of the Ravens' offense, making him a valuable tight end target in drafts.

Insight page

Jacoby Brissett

NegativeRole39:00

Jacoby Brissett should be ranked behind quarterbacks with more job security like Cam Ward or Aaron Rodgers because he has a higher risk of being benched.

Insight page
NegativeProjection62:12

Jacoby Brissett is considered a non-ideal QB2, but competitive if the rest of the roster is strong.

Insight page

Jahmyr Gibbs

PositiveValue3:42

Jahmyr Gibbs is considered a top-tier selection in Superflex formats, with the analysts agreeing to take him with the first overall pick in the mock draft.

Insight page

Jalen Nailor

NegativeRole45:38

Jalen Naylor is unlikely to be a major factor for the Raiders early in the season, as he played with the reserves in the preseason while Trey Tucker did not.

Insight page

James Cook

PositiveValue11:54

Alfredo Brown ranks James Cook higher than Jonathan Taylor this year, making him a priority target in the second round.

Insight page

Javonte Williams

PositiveValue59:09

Javonte Williams was selected in the fifth round by team three, which is viewed as a very good pick to secure an RB1.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

NegativeRole59:17

Jalen Warren is a flex option for team three.

Insight page

Joe Burrow

PositiveProjection9:48

Joe Burrow is drafted in the first round, supported by positive reports regarding the Bengals' defense, which is expected to help the team start the season strong.

Insight page

Jonathon Brooks

NegativeSleeper37:18

Alfredo targeted Brooks in the eighth round as a high-upside RB2, noting that he is now on track for a clean bill of health. He views the risk as minimal at this stage of the draft, especially given the lingering soft-tissue injury concerns surrounding Chuba Hubbard.

Insight page

Jordan Love

PositiveProjection40:42

Jordan Love has a safe floor and hidden upside; he is efficient and could easily reach QB10 status if the team increases his passing volume or if Josh Jacobs misses time.

Insight page

Josh Allen

PositiveProjection59:04

Josh Allen is considered a cornerstone of a strong quarterback room for team three, paired with Dak Prescott.

Insight page

KC Concepcion

PositiveBreakout53:43

KC Concepcion is a player on the rise with significant upside due to his ability to generate yards on manufactured touches like jet sweeps.

Insight page

Kenneth Walker III

PositiveProjection61:45

Kenneth Walker is part of a theoretical strong backfield build alongside Breece Hall.

Insight page

Kyle Pitts

PositiveValue41:46

Kyle Pitts is a value pick when available late in drafts; he is ranked around TE5, making him a strong selection in the late rounds of a superflex mock draft.

Insight page

Lamar Jackson

PositiveValue8:07

Alfredo Brown expresses satisfaction with drafting Lamar Jackson at the end of the first round in a Superflex league, noting it as a strong value.

Insight page

Luther Burden

PositiveBreakout27:37

Alfredo ranks Burden around WR19-20, significantly higher than market consensus, citing Ben Johnson's comparisons to Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jarvis Landry. He expects high target volume and efficiency in an ambiguous Chicago pass-catching corps.

Insight page

Malik Willis

NegativeProjection39:30

There are questions regarding whether Malik Willis will live up to fantasy expectations, leading to a preference for a safer floor at the quarterback position.

Insight page

Matthew Golden

NegativeValue58:32

Matthew Golden was selected in the 12th round of the mock draft.

Insight page

Michael Wilson

NegativeRole27:35

Michael Wilson is a flex option for team three, though there is concern about his attachment to a potentially weak offense.

Insight page

Nico Collins

PositiveBreakout22:19

Alfredo Brown notes that Nico Collins is shooting up his rankings due to the situation in Houston, making him a priority target over other receivers.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

NegativeProjection5:20

Jamie notes that Puka Nacua should be the number two receiver off the board behind Ja'Marr Chase, provided he is healthy and avoids a significant suspension.

Insight page

Quinshon Judkins

NegativeRole59:17

Quinshon Judkins is utilized as a flex option for team three.

Insight page

Romeo Doubs

NegativeRole59:21

Romeo Dobbs was selected by team three.

Insight page

Sam LaPorta

NegativeInjury25:49

LaPorta is questionable for Week 1 with a hip injury, which is concerning given his history of back issues that sidelined him for the second half of last season. Jamie suggests buying the dip if he slips in drafts due to his high-potential system.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeProjection57:32

Saquon Barkley is a key component of a wide-receiver-heavy build, but his team's success depends on the performance of his RB2 and quarterback situation.

Insight page

Terry McLaurin

PositiveValue15:20

Terry McLaurin is identified as a high-upside player to target when punting on the quarterback position.

Insight page

Tony Pollard

NegativeValue52:17

Tony Pollard is considered underrated, though there is some buzz that Tyjae Spears could command a larger role than expected in the Titans' offense.

Insight page

Tre Tucker

PositiveRole45:49

Trey Tucker appears to be the Raiders' number one wide receiver on paper, having sat out the preseason game while Jalen Naylor played with the backups.

Insight page

Trey McBride

PositiveValue21:58

Alfredo highlights McBride as an elite tight end option whose value remains high in Superflex leagues because the depth at the position is significantly compromised by injuries to mid-tier players.

1:28And he stays on his feet! He's just gonna go the distance!
1:32Now, here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath.
1:35Alright, everybody. Welcome to the show. Happy Friday. Get ready for a live mock draft with our friend Alfredo Brown.
1:41Alfredo, how much do you like Superflex leagues? Um, I like it about as much as eating pizza and then playing tennis
1:47late at night on a wet court. Wait, you don't like Superflex leagues?
1:51I actually do. I just haven't done a lot of Superflex leagues this year.
1:55I usually almost always reserve Superflex for Dynasty stuff.
1:58I'm a bit of a redraft purist, but this will be fun to jump in and, you know, get my feet wet with some Superflex right now.
2:06I think there's one person that we have a 12-team Superflex league, and I love Superflex.
2:11It's definitely my favorite format. Um, and this is two flexes and a Superflex.
2:15I'll tell you the format in a second. We have one guy who is not here, and he has the first pick.
2:22So I think we're going to give him Jameer Gibbs.
2:25What do you guys say? Superflex Jameer Gibbs. Yeah, you don't have to start with a quarterback.
2:30Uh, I'll tell you, I was in two Superflex leagues last year, 10-team and 12-team, and I'll just tell you the rounds
2:36in which the teams that played for the championship drafted their quarterbacks in the 10-team league.
2:41Uh, two at rounds, two and seven for the winning team.
2:44Rounds one and six for the runner-up. In the 12-team Superflex league, they drafted quarterbacks.
2:49Uh, the winning team, Dan Schneier, in rounds three and four.
2:52How about he started with, uh, Bijan, Puka, Purdy, and Trevor Lawrence.
2:56That's pretty good. And the runner-up went with quarterbacks in rounds three and like eight.
3:00Um, no, three, six, and eight or something like that.
3:03So you don't, do not start quarterback, quarterback. I mean, well, you don't have to anyway.
3:08Um, so far we have Jameer Gibbs, Bijan Robinson, and Josh Allen, and Jamar Chase with our first four picks.
3:14Jamie, what pick do you have? I pick six.
3:17And you're on the clock as, uh, we just had Drake Maye.
3:20What are you going to do here? Yeah, I'm going to take, uh, Puka Nakua.
3:25Hopefully he is okay. I'm sure based on last week's suspension dump on a Friday, we might find out if Puka suspended today.
3:32That would be actually be ideal if we find out as soon as possible.
3:36So, uh, if he is going to be suspended along with Josh Jacobs, we'd like to find that out before the majority of drafts happen.
3:43But I still think if Puka's healthy, uh, no suspension or minimal suspension, he should be the number two receiver off the
3:50board behind Jamar Chase, who already went. Okay. So Alfredo, you have the 10th pick.
3:54So you're up soon. So first five picks of this super flex league, Gibbs, Bijon, Josh Allen, Jamar Chase, Drake May, and Puka Nakua.
4:01That'd be six. Yeah, sorry. Um, what we've got here is a 12 team super flex league.
4:07Super flex means you've got an extra flex spot.
4:09You can start any position that you want, including quarterback, no kicker or defense, but you can start any of the four offensive skill positions.
4:17So, um, usually it's going to be a quarterback.
4:19It's full PPR start two running backs, two wide receivers, one tight end and two flex and the super flex.
4:25So we'll see how that, uh, changes things. We've got Puka Nakua at six to Jamie JSN at seven.
4:31I'm on Ross St. Brown at eight. Alfredo, you're on deck.
4:34What are you thinking here? Um, I'm actually surprised how many skill positions have gone instead of quarterbacks in the super flex draft.
4:41I think that's just something to pay attention to when you get into these drafts, how everything falls.
4:47I, I had my plan a, my plan B and my plan a is here.
4:51So I am going with Lamar Jackson at this pick and I mean, get them at the tail end of round one and a super flex.
4:59I'm happy with that. I'm sorry about that. I'm going to have to turn off my sound if I can figure that out.
5:06Uh, yes, I am on deck. So he went with Lamar Jackson and that is only the third quarterback off the, off the board with 10 picks.
5:14And so now pick 11 is Christian McCaffrey, which brings great team name, by the way.
5:19What is it? I can't even Dan's indigestion. We actually have a few dad related team names.
5:24We have Dan's indigestion. Yeah. Okay. I won't read the other one.
5:27Yeah, no, that's not good. That was not nice.
5:30Um, all right. I think I got to go chase Brown here, but what's my other pick going to be?
5:36It's not going to be Lamar Jefferson. You'd go chase Brown over James cook.
5:40Uh, oh, uh, sure. I'm going to go chase Brown over James cook and I'm going to go.
5:46Oh, look at this. I'm going to go Joe burrow.
5:48I'm going to go bangles, bangles. And I just read a practice report from bangles bears practice from our John breach on cbssports.com.
5:55And he said the bangles defense was so good.
5:58He said something like start the season right now because they are ready.
6:02Dexter Lawrence had an interception. Um, so they've obviously they've invested a lot in the defense and off to a good start there.
6:09Did I not take burrow yet? I'm sorry. There we go.
6:12Joe burrow. Um, all right. So that's four quarterbacks in the first 13 picks, uh, Allen may Jackson and burrow.
6:18It is a six point for passing touchdown league, by the way.
6:22Um, all right, Alfredo, you're on deck here. Anything stand out to you?
6:26I mean, the first round looks kind of like a normal first round, but you know, you've got James cook still on the board.
6:33Hope maybe you'll get them there, but anything stand out to you so far?
6:37Uh, yeah, I mean, I'm still, I'm, I'm interested in seeing how many wide receivers went off the board so early.
6:43I know these are all the guys you expect to see, but with it being just the regular two wide receiver league
6:50and you still have the super flex, um, I thought running back would get, you know, cleared out a little faster and quarterbacks would go earlier.
6:58So I'm looking now at the skill positions in round two and I'm kind of into what I see here.
7:04I just saw CD lamb goes forward. So yeah, I mean, I talked about them earlier.
7:08Uh, this pick for me would come down to three running backs, James cook, Saquon Markley, Ken Walker.
7:14Out of those three, I'm going to take James cooks.
7:17I have him ranked highest. I have him ahead of Jonathan Taylor this year.
7:21All right, Jamie, let's just lay lay out the land a little bit of overall super flex strategy.
7:26What are your words of wisdom? I mean, we've been saying it all off season, certainly in our preview shows about the positions, how deep quarterback is.
7:34And so this is where it gets put to the test, right?
7:38So it's great to have Josh Allen, Drake may Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow.
7:42Nobody's going to argue with those guys. They're amazing.
7:44And they should be among the top producers at quarterback if they're healthy.
7:48But how big is the drop off between those guys?
7:51And then what I would think is the next year, because Jaden Daniels, I think belongs in this series, probably the next
7:58quarterback that goes is Jalen hurts, Dak Prescott, Justin Herbert, that next crop of quarterbacks that we talk a lot about.
8:04And the gamble is, do you want to take them in round two or can one of them potentially fall to round three?
8:11So like I'm on deck right now and none of the other quarterbacks have gone since Joe Burrow.
8:16So do I want to still take one of the players that I think could be fantastic?
8:22You know, Alfredo mentioned one of them. Ken Walker, Justin Jefferson still on the board.
8:26We'll see what happens with the pick in front of me.
8:29Or do I want to pull the trigger on a quarterback here?
8:33So I'm probably going to skip quarterback once again and see what happens in round three.
8:38And I was looking at, you know, some of the teams, like I mentioned, some of the teams that won or, or
8:44were runner up in the super flex leagues. One of them was a 10 team league, the other 12.
8:50And, you know, you can, you could wait many, many rounds.
8:53And I think we just got an auto pick there, but it's Devon H.
8:57And so I will leave it. You can keep waiting.
9:00You know, I might just as an experiment, I've got Joe Burrow, right?
9:04I got Chase Brown and Joe Burrow, and I've got picks at the turn three at the three, four turn as an experiment.
9:11I might wait until the five, six turn and just, you know, I'm probably going to do that.
9:17Let's see how many quarterbacks fly off the board.
9:19I think we're going to get our quarterback run pretty soon.
9:22Yep. Jamie went with Puka Nakua sixth overall, and then Ken Walker in the second round.
9:27Yeah. No risk there. Yeah. It's so far. We're up to what, what overall pick is this?
9:32It's pick 20 and it's AJ Brown. So 20 picks in and only four quarterbacks off the board.
9:38They're going to start flying. Derek Henry. Once we, I think it's basically once we get done with the top 12 running
9:44backs, then, then I think they'll start coming up and we probably are done.
9:48Was that the, was that our, there's still a Hampton on the board.
9:52Oh, Hampton. Okay. Hampton for what it's worth. Alfredo one series for, uh, for Justin Herbert last night, uh, just because I'm
9:59probably going to forget to mention it later. Aronic gas and only played one of those snaps and the three snaps that Herbert played.
10:06Um, but Hampton played all three snaps, including a third and short.
10:10And then they took him out. It put Keaton Mitchell in second.
10:13Any, what's your read on the chargers backfield? I think Mike McDaniel loves to troll the media and say silly things because that's just his personality.
10:21But I don't know how any coach in their right mind looks at the chargers backfield and says, you know, what we
10:28need to do is not give Amari and Hampton the ball as much as possible.
10:32He's looked great in, in practice and he fits this system with Mike McDaniel.
10:36I'd be taking him ahead of Derek Henry, ahead of Devon H.
10:40And, uh, I have him right behind some of the guys that went earlier, Ashton Jensie, Ken Walker, Saquon Barkley.
10:46So, uh, him going where he did right now at the, what is that?
10:50The two 11, even in a super flex, like that's, that's a great value in my opinion.
10:55And in a super flex leagues to take Jameer Gibbs with the first pick and then get Jaden Daniels is wild, but that's what happened.
11:03Jaden Daniels, fourth quarterback off the board. He goes at the two, three turn.
11:07And then so does Brock Purdy. So team one started, uh, Gibbs and by the way, team one, Michael did get into the draft room.
11:14So he made those picks Gibbs, Jaden Daniels, Brock Purdy questionable, I guess, to take Purdy, uh, as the fifth, uh, sixth
11:21quarterback, you know, you still had hurts. So a Dak, but whatever, um, team two going with three non quarterbacks to start.
11:27So B John Robinson, Omari and Hampton, Justin Jefferson, team three, Josh Allen, Drake, London, Dak Prescott team for Jamar chase, Derek
11:34Henry, Caleb Williams, uh, team five, Drake may AJ Brown, Jalen hurts.
11:38So here is a run of, uh, five quarterbacks within six picks.
11:41As soon as Omari and Hampton went five quarterbacks within six picks, Jamie around the clock with Puka and Ken Walker.
11:47Oh, sorry. I was, uh, sending a tweet for our show later.
11:51Um, I'll give you a fresh 40. I'm good.
11:54All right. Thanks. Um, you know what, since this is a two receiver league and I'm going to wait on quarterback again, I'm going to take Brock Bowers.
12:02That's a great, that's a, that's a nice pick right there.
12:05Brock Bowers 30th. But now we had those five quarterbacks within six picks, Daniels, Purdy, Prescott, Caleb and hurts.
12:11You didn't have a quarterback Puka and Ken Walker with your first two picks.
12:15If any of those quarterbacks had been on the board, would you have taken them over Bowers?
12:20Uh, I would have taken Daniels. I don't know if you mentioned him.
12:24I would have taken Daniels. I would have taken hurts.
12:27I would have taken Prescott, not the other three.
12:30Two. Okay. So you were thinking quarterback there, uh, but it just didn't follow you that way.
12:35And we'll see how your team turns out. Like if you got, you know, if you're in a super flex league, you,
12:42you know, one of the questions you should ask yourself is, Hey, what if I had, uh, Jared golf and Baker Mayfield
12:48as my quarterbacks, or what if I had Tyler shuck and Baker Mayfield as my quarterbacks?
12:53How would you feel about that? You know, I, I think you could be fine with any build.
12:58Um, you just might want to go to QB three a little bit earlier than the rest of your league.
13:04Alfredo is on the clock after Jamie took Bowers where she rice and George Pickens were off the board.
13:10You have, and then Patrick Mahomes, you have Lamar Jackson and James cook.
13:14What are you thinking here? He gets a steal.
13:17If he wants it. Oh, well now I'm so nervous that I'm not going to Jamie playing the mind games right now.
13:23Yeah. You got Nico, Olave neighbors. Yeah. Pride. Those are, those are all the guys that are at the top of my list right now.
13:31And I think maybe a week ago, I wouldn't have taken this guy.
13:34Uh, but given the, the situation in Houston, I got to go near his right now.
13:39You go. I was, I was torn between Nico and Bowers.
13:43Yeah. I think I would have been looking at, there's like three or four other receivers that I have in my queue
13:49right now that normally I probably would have taken ahead of Nico, but everything that's changed in Houston, Nico's shooting up the rankings for me.
13:57Yep. Do you guys devalue tight end in a format like this where we have two flexes?
14:02I mean, it's basically the same as a three receiver league with one flex, but it's two running backs, two receivers, two flexes, but also a super flex.
14:10Does that change tight end for you? They can change it for everybody, right?
14:14Bowers is not going to fall to around three in most drafts.
14:18Well, but that's just, that's just because of the quarterbacks, but I could make the case and I, hold on, let me make my pick here real quick.
14:26I've got a chase Brown and Joe Burrow. I think this would be a great time to take a quarterback.
14:32We got Herbert Lawrence, Dart Stafford on the board and a lot of the quarterbacks are gone, but I'm going to chance it.
14:39I'm just going to see what happens here and take the best available non quarterback, which to me is going to be, ah, it's going to be Devante.
14:47No, I should probably, I'm going to take Devante Smith.
14:50Oh, between. Yeah. It's so close. It's so close.
14:53And then, yeah, like McBride would certainly be in play here.
14:56That's my only my first, all right. I can go Kyron.
15:00I can go Javante. I can go Jacobs. Eight Travis.
15:03I would reach for running back when Chris Olave stared at you in the face.
15:07Yeah. I just have like some Olave fears, but it's the.
15:10In round four. What are the fears? My fear is.
15:13I'll take. Well, pick, pick first and then discuss fears.
15:16My fear is Olave. I've said this so many times, right?
15:20He basically had a Terry McLaurin season last year where his yardage, like nothing was really all that different except he scored a lot more touchdowns.
15:27So does he go? Does he regress from that and go back to being like a top 24 ish wide receiver instead
15:34of a top 12 ish wide receiver. And then my other fear is.
15:38I don't know how much I buy into Tyler Shuck.
15:41I've watched some tape and he's better than I thought.
15:44He's a really good arm, but this is a 27 year old guy, right?
15:48Going into his second year. He wasn't much of a prospect.
15:51I'm worried that he goes the Bo Nix route and struggles in his second season, even with a great offensive coordinator, all that.
15:58Um, I'll pray. I'll let you make your pick, but then we can talk about a lobby, but I'm concerned about the passing game.
16:05And yeah, Jordan Tyson's not out for the season, but go ahead, Alfredo.
16:09Um, I'm not as concerned with the lobby. I mean, I would have been if Jordan Tyson was going to be healthy,
16:16but this whole hamstring thing is something that has followed him all throughout college.
16:20And I'm not one of those guys that likes to say a player is injury prone, but, uh, one of my buddies
16:27who's a doctor who helped me with all the stuff I do at pretend GM has been saying he's been really concerned
16:33about the hamstring stuff because the soft tissue injuries kind of just keep replicating themselves over and over and over.
16:39And it becomes a compensation issue. Alave. I'm not as worried because I do think Tyler Shuck is actually a good quarterback.
16:46I, I charted him for reception perception and everything that he was doing was he was making big boy throws.
16:52He was not doing your typical rookie stuff. He was hitting a lot of those intermediate throws, a lot of the deeper
16:58concepts that Kellen Moore likes to run that Chris Alave does so well.
17:02And that was always the problem with him and Derek Carr is that he and Derek Carr were just not on the
17:09same page, no matter what, whenever they tried to go downfield.
17:12And Shuck was doing that as a rookie. And we still saw Alave finish as high as he did in fantasy with
17:19the half of the year of Spencer Rattler. So better offensive line, better offense in general, meaning more opportunities for touchdowns.
17:25I'm on Alave, especially at this cost that I actually think Devante Smith and Alave were the two guys I was looking at instead of Nico Collins.
17:33So I love the picture made. Okay. Because it was Collins, the neighbors.
17:37It's like, I didn't love the turn. I wish there had a player there that I just, that I thought was more like a round two value.
17:45Smith and Alave are more round three values to me.
17:48That was at the three, four term, but you have so many quarterbacks mixed in there.
17:53I thought maybe I'd get lucky. After I took Smith and Alave, Justin Herbert went and Trey McBride went.
17:58So can you guys just count real, what do we have?
18:02Like 12-ish quarterbacks off the board? One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, 11.
18:06Yeah. 11 quarterbacks off the board and we are 41 picks in.
18:09We're going to take a break. I'm going to bring up that, um, I'm going to bring up that, uh, tight end
18:16question again, and we'll be right back on fantasy football today.

20:14Get started today. This summer, my wife and I took my parents, our son, and our granddaughter on a trip to Montana.
20:20Coming from South Florida, it was such a change of pace.
20:24We spent our days exploring Glacier National Park, taking in the incredible mountain views, spotting wildlife, and doing some easy hikes to waterfalls and scenic overlooks.
20:31It was amazing being surrounded by mountains and cooler weather, something we just don't get at home.
20:36We also checked out some local restaurants, tried a few Montana favorites like Huckleberry desserts, and really enjoyed slowing down and spending quality time together.
20:44But while we were off exploring somewhere new, our home was just sitting empty.
20:48That's when I realized while we're away, we could list our space on Airbnb.
20:52It feels like a smart and practical way to bring in some extra cash, especially when there is a high demand in
20:59our area for things like concerts, games, or festivals.
21:02It turns an empty house into an easy opportunity while you enjoy your own time off.
21:06It can even help offset some of the cost of your next trip.
21:10Your home might be worth more than you think.
21:13Find out how much at Airbnb.com slash host. So you guys, Jamie and Alfredo, have Bowers for Jamie and McBride for Alfredo.
21:19Colson Loveland just went 46th overall. And then Jackson Dart.
21:22So you guys obviously are cool with going tight end.
21:25My argument is like tight end is typically a position where the value of the tight end is based on how much
21:32better they are than the other tight ends. Right?
21:35When you have like a high end tight end, right?
21:38He's just killing it compared to the other tight ends.
21:41But when you add a super flex, I feel like that gets less important because you have more, a lot more fantasy
21:47points scored by the teams every week. We're not PPR super flexing.
21:51So it's like, you know, he may not, the tight end may not be scoring that many points and may not really
21:57be having that same kind of impact. I like for me, like I like prioritizing tight end in this shallower roster leagues.
22:04This is a deeper roster, deeper starting lineup. Does that make any mathematical sense?
22:08Yeah, I mean, it's analytically you're correct. I just think that this year we're seeing a big change of the tight end
22:15position where pretty much everyone outside of the top three is already injured.
22:19So when I look at those elite guys, the Bowers and McBride, I'm like, oh, the gap is a little bit bigger
22:25this year because everyone else from tight end four through tight end 10 is essentially either old or injured at this point.
22:32And I think that that gap kind of stays there, even with the super flex edition here for both Bowers and McBride.
22:38I'm going to pause the draft real quick here.
22:41Jamie's on the clock in round five, but I want to catch everybody up on round four.
22:46So remember, I took Smith, Devante Smith and Chris Olave at the three, four turn.
22:51We had Justin Herbert, Trey McBride to Alfredo through four rounds.
22:54Alfredo has Lamar Jackson, James Cook, Nico Collins and Trey McBride.
22:57Then it was Lad McConkie, Zay Flowers, Trevor Lawrence to I think that's the Midnight Express.
23:02And they have Jackson Smith and Jigba. This is team eight.
23:05No, seven. Jamie, you had the six pick, right?
23:08Sorry. So this is team seven. So they didn't take a quarterback till round four.
23:12They have one. They have JSN, Devon HN, Rasheed Rice.
23:15That's pretty cool. And Trevor Lawrence. And they're about to pick again after Jamie picks.
23:20So this is an example of team seven, JSN, Devon HN, Rasheed Rice, Trevor Lawrence and QB2.
23:25It could be Kyler Murray, could be Bo Nix.
23:28If they take a quarterback here, Malik Willis, Tyler Shuck, Jordan Love, Baker Mayfield.
23:32So that's a pretty good start. After Trevor Lawrence, Jamie took Tee Higgins.
23:36So Jamie, you don't even have a quarterback yet.
23:38You are the only team without a quarterback. You're about to pick here in round five.
23:43But you have Puka, Ken Walker, Brock Bowers and Tee Higgins.
23:47You could have taken Jackson Dart, Jared Goff or Matthew Stafford instead of Tee Higgins.
23:51After Higgins, it was Jacobs. Is that Kyron? Kyron Williams.
23:54Colson Loveland, Jackson Dart, Tedderola McMillan, Emeka Abuka, Jared Goff, Javante Williams, Matthew Stafford, Jalen Waddle.
23:59And we are now at pick 54. How many teams have two quarterbacks midway through round five?
24:04One, two, three, four, five. That's it. And what's so interesting, I don't know if this is typical or not.
24:10Those five teams are teams one through, well, they've also had more picks.
24:14They're teams one through five. I'll tell you how this has not worked out well for me.
24:19I was hoping Lawrence would have fallen one more spot.
24:22And that did not work out well. So, you know, as I was seeing the board unfold, okay, maybe I get Trevor Lawrence.
24:29I wasn't going to panic. So happy to take Tee Higgins.
24:32And the reason I didn't take a quarterback there was because, as you just alluded to, three of the teams of the
24:39five picking after me had already had two quarterbacks.
24:41So the gamble was, would one of the three guys that got drafted fall to me?
24:46And it did not work out. So obviously you have to take chances in drafts.
24:50You have to sort of see the way the board's unfolding.
24:54You have to sort of understand what the fallback option could be.
24:57So I'm taking Kyler Murray here. That was the fallback option if all the quarterbacks went.
25:02But I would have preferred one of Dart, Stafford, and Goff.
25:05And I think it does make a little bit of sense to me in a 12-team league for the teams that are
25:12drafting earlier to go quarterback a little bit earlier.
25:15Because I think you feel like, especially in rounds two and three, like if I don't take one of these top eight
25:21or ten quarterbacks here, there could be a big run and I might not get.
25:26And in fact, they got lucky like there wasn't a big run.
25:29I might not get a good quarterback in round four if I have an early pick and a late round pick in round four.
25:37So I think you could see that. All right, let's resume the draft with Jamie on the clock.
25:42He's going to take Kyler Murray to give him Puka, Ken Walker, Brock Bowers, T.
25:46Higgins, and Kyler Murray. A few news items here.
25:49Sam Laporta is questionable for week one with a hip injury.
25:52Jamie, what's your reaction to that? It's concerning, you know, especially for a guy that had a back injury last year that
25:59knocked him out for the second half of the season.
26:02So we don't want to see this, as Alfredo alluded to, after the top three tight ends.
26:07We're starting to see these guys get banged up.
26:10Tyler Warren's banged up. Tucker Craft's coming off an injury.
26:13George Kittle may not be ready for week one.
26:15You know, so there's a lot of questions with that position.
26:19I think if you're just looking at it right now, it may change how people view the top three guys.
26:25But I think if you're still in the Laporta camp, you buy the dip and you hope that he slips a little
26:31bit in drafts and you still take advantage of what a better system, at least on paper, with Drew Petsing, the offense coordinator.
26:38So it'll probably bump up Jamison Williams. It might bump up Amon Ross St.
26:42Brown, maybe over JSN or Puka, if you're concerned about those two guys.
26:46He's about as safe as you can come in the first round with still having high potential.
26:51So we'll just see how this plays out. Okay.
26:54Quinshawn Judkins dealing with a nagging injury. Todd Monk and the head coach said he's not concerned.
26:59Patrick Wilhelm's on track to play week one, according to Schefter.
27:02George Kittle has a good chance, a decent chance to play week one, according to Schefter.
27:07Tyler Warren expected to be ready for week one, according to Ian Rappaport.
27:11Makai Lemon practice. Chargers center Tyler Biotish tore his ACL.
27:14That's a tough break there. Rashad White's hamstring injury is seemingly minor.
27:18Khalil Shakir's been out. Don't think that's a big deal.
27:21Giants starting right guard. Francis Maui Noah has a stinger.
27:24The Niner signed Khalil Herbert. He played last night.
27:26And I mentioned that Cincinnati's defense had a very strong showing against the Bears offense in the joint practice.
27:32All right. Jamie took Kyler Murray. Bo Nix went.
27:35Then we had Garrett Wilson, Jamison Williams, Luther Burden.
27:37You took Luther Burden, Alfredo. Yep. I'll get you.
27:40Go ahead. Give me your thoughts on why you took Burden.
27:43You only have one quarterback here. You have Jackson, Cook, Nico, Trey McBride, and now Luther Burden.
27:48I mean, as Jamie was talking, I was kind of doing the counting of how many quarterbacks still need to be drafted
27:55by the other teams and how many quarterbacks am I willing to draft?
27:59We needed seven more quarterbacks. There's six quarterbacks I'm willing to draft.
28:02So there's a likelihood I can get that guy or one of them in the next round or falling round after that.
28:09What I didn't want to do was miss out on Luther Burden as my wide receiver to where he's going because it
28:16looks like we've had roughly 24, 25 wide receivers.
28:18I haven't counted all that. And I have Luther Burden ranked well ahead of that, like around wide receiver 19 or 20 in my rankings.
28:26I just love the upside here. I love the upside here.
28:29Ben Johnson's been talking about him as if he's another Amandre St.
28:33Brown, Jarvis Landry, a guy who's going to get targeted a lot.
28:36He's great after the catch. He's a prospect I really liked.
28:39And everything's still open in sort of an ambiguous pass catching offense right now in Chicago.
28:44And if they are as good as they were last year and Luther Burden can be as efficient as he was last
28:51year, even close to that with a greater target volume.
28:54I love that as my wide receiver two in this round.
28:57All right. And I took after Burden went, DeAndre Swift went Bears run.
29:01I took Jordan Love and I took him over Malik Willis in a one quarterback league.
29:06I might take Willis over Love. Love's kind of safe.
29:09Now, if they start throwing the ball more, he does have some upside.
29:13But in a two quarterback league, Jordan Love is is to me like a really nice QB two in a two quarterback league.
29:19He's not going to get benched. They're going to be a good offense.
29:23You know, things are going to be fine. He may not win you the league, but he certainly isn't going to lose you the league.
29:31So I'm fine with that. And then I took Travis A.
29:34Chan. I was actually thinking about going with like Baker Mayfield and getting my third quarterback there because I don't know what
29:41the QB three situation is going to be in 24 picks.
29:44And it might be pretty bad, but we'll see because I'm not picking again for two more full rounds.
29:50But I didn't do that. I went with A.
29:52Chan, then Jeremiah Love. Jamie, it was tough for me.
29:55A. Chan versus Love like that. That would have been unthinkable a week ago or just before Love's injury and Kamara's injury.
30:02What would you have done there? I would have taken A.
30:05Chan. Yeah, I think there's enough of a reason to buy into him with the injury and with Kamara's injury and then
30:12with Love's ankle injury that it's worth your gamble there to take him.
30:16Okay. Then Jeremiah Love went right after Malik Willis to Alfredo, who he loves.
30:20Tyler Warren was another guy I was considering. He's the fourth pick of round six.
30:24Baker Mayfield goes 65th overall, followed by Travion Henderson.
30:27And Jamie, who did you take in round six?
30:30I took Breesol. Why did you not take a second quarterback here?
30:33Because you only have Kyler. I'm going to gamble again.
30:36I'm going to see if somebody takes their third quarterback before I take my second.
30:41So there's a lot of great players on the board.
30:44I'll be happy to just, hey, if I got a punt on quarterback, I'll punt on quarterback.
30:49It's not the most ideal situation at Superflex. But we've seen it happen before.
30:53We've seen teams manage through a season. There's still other quarterbacks that I like.
30:57I'm not going to hide it. My rankings are right in front of anybody that's playing on using this draft.
31:03Tyler Shuck would be the quarterback that I take.
31:06So if he makes it back to me, that'll be my next pick.
31:10If not, I'll pivot and find somebody else. Yeah.
31:12Like, would you be so upset if Cam Ward were your QB too?
31:16Yes. Yes. But I mean, I've put myself in the situation that I need to be successful almost everywhere else.
31:22And so the Brees Hall pick is sort of the last of a pretty significant tier.
31:27Like, I like him better than Trevion Anderson, to be honest.
31:30You know, he's fallen a little bit because of the injury, understandably so.
31:34But I do think that prior to the groin injury, there were a lot of signs pointing toward him having a big-time bounce-back season.
31:41I don't really buy into the Aaron Glenn they're going to share to this degree.
31:46They're going to share. Every team shares. Unless you're just, you know, Derrick Henry and the elite of the elite.
31:52So there's going to be other players that touch the ball.
31:55We saw it in the first preseason game, the amount of touches that Brees Hall had.
32:00I think he was the contract speaks to it.
32:03You know, this is still the same regime talking about all these same things, you know, that Brees Hall had to deal with last year.
32:10So I like Geno Smith as the quarterback. Again, not to make them a playoff team.
32:15I just think he makes them a better offense.
32:18So the skill position players are better. I was perfectly happy getting this.
32:22And Tyler Stook went. That's fine. I'll figure it out.
32:24So I'm very curious to see the running backs here because Scadaboo just went.
32:29Now, Dave and Dan were at Giants-Dolphins, the joint practice yesterday.
32:32And, you know, based on the running back rotation yesterday, it was really bad for Cam Scadaboo.
32:37Scadaboo, Singletary, and Tracy were all playing with the first team.
32:40No one was really standing out as the guy just in terms of playing time.
32:45And then Najee played with the second team, and he looked good, according to them.
32:49So Scadaboo was taken. Bucky Irving was taken. Then Tyler Shuck.
32:53Then Bejal Tootin. Then Quinchon Judkins. So for Judkins to go after Bucky and Tootin is a little surprising, but he does
32:59have this injury, this vague, nagging injury. And here's David Montgomery.
33:02And we just had five running backs in a span of six picks, by the way, as we get to pick 76 overall.
33:09It's David Montgomery here in round seven. Jamie's on deck, by the way.
33:13And we'll see if he takes a quarterback. Jadarian Price just went.
33:17So a massive run. And it's, you know, I really like the wide receipt.
33:21Well, I can see we're kind of at the end of a tier here.
33:25Jamie took McLaurin. What are you doing, man? All right.
33:28Yeah. It's a decent gamble because a lot of people really wait to grab their third quarterback.
33:33But two of the people drafting after you only have one quarterback.
33:37So if you're starting Cam Ward, forget about super flex.
33:40Don't chase positions. No, I disagree in super flex.
33:42Like, no, I don't point because there's still going to be players that are in the same type of tier.
33:48So I'm not going to risk passing up what is a better flex play just to chase a player.
33:54The difference between Cam Ward and CJ Stroud, who are the guys left Daniel Jones.
33:59These quarterbacks, it's just not worth it. All right.
34:01If you think if you think if Chuck was still there, I would have said no doubt about it.
34:07I think Chuck is in a tier above those guys.
34:10But to put the other quarterbacks that we're talking about here in the same grouping, I'll figure it out.
34:16All right. Look, if you if you have a tier, you think one of them is going to be available to you in the next round.
34:23That's one thing. But at some point, you got to get a QB two in super flex because you can't say, oh,
34:30Jacoby Brissett's going to be my guy. He's going to lose his job.
34:34He could. Geno Smith could lose his job. Like there's no quarterback on the waiver wire in a 12 team super flex.
34:40I'm not disagreeing with that. But again, like to just be chasing that position.
34:45It's the same thing as like, oh, bleep. I don't have an RB two yet, but here's this great wide receiver is still there.
34:52I don't have to start this wide receiver. But why would I not put him on my team?
34:57No, yeah, I agree. It's just super flex like that.
35:00You can't run out of start of options. You know, I understand you don't want to chase a position.
35:06But if again, if you think that there's going to be someone there that you're fine with the next round, then then great.
35:13Take Terry McLaurin. But I do think if you ever have to chase a position, it's when the quarterbacks are drying up in a super flex league.
35:21I'm not disagreeing with your theory. It's just the players that we're talking about here.
35:25There's just such a group of players right now.
35:28And they're coming off the board. You know, kudos to the people that are drafting them.
35:33Second quarterback, in some cases, third quarterback. It makes sense.
35:36But I don't want to pass up on still a starter in my lineup.
35:40Terry McLaurin will be my flex. And you say this all the time.
35:44You don't always have to start a quarterback in super flex.
35:47Yeah, but I don't. It's preferable when it's six points for passing touchdowns.
35:51I'm not going to deny that. But you don't have to.
35:54I think you say that more than I do because I do not want to do that.
35:59Yeah, in a six point for passing touchdown league.
36:02I have not had any Parker Washington. I think it's time for me to.
36:06No, I think it's time. I like Romo Duneze better.
36:09I'm going to take Romo Duneze. Take them both.
36:12Yeah, you're on the turn. I am on the turn.
36:15I can take them both. They're both would be starters for me.
36:19However, this is where I feel like I need to get my second quarter, my third quarterback.
36:24Because I have Burrow and Love. And again, I'm not picking for another two full rounds.
36:28See, now I feel like you're doing that just to prove a point to Jamie that he should have chased quarterback.
36:35No, I'm not. I mean, I don't know. Actually, I guess I could gamble.
36:39But if the next eight quarterbacks are off the ball, let's see what happens.
36:43All right. Let's take Parker Washington. All right. So my team right now from the 12th spot is Joe Burrow and Jordan
36:50Love, Chase Brown and Travis Achan, Devante Smith and Chris Olave, Romo Duneze, Parker Washington at Flex.
36:55I like it. I don't love it. But that's great.
36:58I wish either Devante Smith or Chris Olave had been, you know, either Rasheed Rice or Nico Collins or something like that.
37:04It just didn't work out that way. But I just missed on those guys.
37:08We got Team 11 on the clock with McCaffrey, CeeDee Lamb, Malik Neighbors, Justin Herbert, DeAndre Swift, Jeremiah Love and Mike Evans and Sam Laporta.
37:16All right. Sam Laporta goes 86th overall. Jonathan Brooks, Alfredo.
37:19That was another guy I was considering. What's your read, Alfredo?
37:22You took Brooks. Your read on the running backs in Carolina.
37:25I mean, loved him as a prospect coming out.
37:28And obviously it's been annoying that he's injured every year.
37:31But everything is pointing to a clean bill of health this year.
37:35And with Chuba Hubbard, these soft tissue injuries, the hamstring stuff like that, that's the kind of thing that lingers around.
37:41And even though they're saying he might be ready for week one, there's a good chance he's not.
37:46And then even if he is playing, he's probably not up to full speed.
37:51We can see Jonathan Brooks. And I'm willing to take this risk, by the way, this late because there's so many players that I'm having to start.
37:59I'm willing to take more risks this late in the draft on a guy like Jonathan Brooks.
38:04If he's the starter for Carolina and he's getting the lion's share of the work, awesome.
38:08I just got a really good RB2 much later than everyone else.
38:12And if not, it doesn't really, this doesn't kill me.
38:15What round are we in? Round eight? A round eight pick doesn't kill your draft.
38:20So I'm willing to take more chances as we get later, especially with a roster that's so big.
38:25And that was only your second running back. So you waited a while on RB2.
38:29You have Trey McBride. You took Lamar Jackson as the third quarterback off the board.
38:34So, yeah, you just stacked up at other positions.
38:37After you took Brooks, it was J.K. Dobbins, Ramondre Stevenson, Harold Fannin Jr., and Jamie got his guy, C.J.
38:42Stroud. That was the guy I would have taken where I took McLaurin.
38:46Perfect. That's great. Yep. That's great. Coming to get one.
38:49And in between your McLaurin and Stroud pick, only two quarterbacks went, Daniel Jones and Sam Darnold.
38:54So you take Stroud. D.K. Metcalf goes. And we'll see some of the quarterbacks available with Jacoby Brissett, Cam Ward, Aaron Rodgers, Geno Smith, Bryce Young, Tua Tungabailoa.
39:03And if you're doing a super flex league, just know that I don't know how much it would change, Jamie.
39:09But if you're looking at Jamie's rankings, Dave's, he's whatever, that's their one QB league rankings.
39:13You know, I think you could certainly make the case that any quarterback that you think has a good chance to get
39:20benched at some point, like Jacoby Brissett should be behind someone like Cam Ward or Aaron Rodgers who have more job security.
39:27Would you agree, Jamie? I think it depends on your build.
39:30You know, so in the case of Alfredo, for example, because I think Lamar Jackson and Malik Willis are awesome.
39:36But obviously there's some questions about Malik Willis, right?
39:38So I probably would take a little bit of a safer floor there just in case Willis doesn't live up to the fantasy expectations.
39:46Um, and in the case of what I'm doing, I probably would take a safer floor just because I don't have the
39:52security of my QB one being Kyler Murray. Um, you know, so I think it kind of plays into what you're doing.
39:59Like in the case of what you did, um, with Joe Burrow and Jordan Love, like that's the kind of pick I would probably swing for the fences.
40:07Because I think you have two guys, as you alluded to with Jordan Love, why you took Love over Willis.
40:13You took him because there's no fear of getting benched.
40:16So like, well, no, I, I didn't mean that because I don't think Malik Willis is getting benched.
40:21I took Jordan Love because he's like nice and safe.
40:24Well, that's not going to be bad. Whatever, whatever the definition is.
40:28You took a player that has a very safe floor.
40:31And in the case of what you did, I would take a ceiling play as opposed to a safe play for the third QB.
40:38That's fine. I would just, I should have said this and I didn't.
40:42I actually do think Jordan Love has a decent ceiling.
40:45I don't think it's top five, but could easily be like QB 10 or something like that because he's really good and really efficient.
40:52They just have to throw the ball more. And if Josh Jacobs is hurt or Josh Jacobs gets suspended, I think that changes their offense a little bit.
41:01Jordan Love, you know, I saw someone on TV yesterday.
41:04I don't know, TV was on in the office and somebody on ESPN said, Jordan Love's going to remind everybody how good he is.
41:11And I can see that happening because he just, just needs to throw the ball more.
41:16But you're right. I said what I said. And Love has some, some hidden upside.
41:20I catch up on some picks here. After, after Jamie took Stroud in round eight, it was Metcalf, Gainwell, Michael Wilson, Brian
41:27Thomas Jr., Tucker Craft, Ja'Cory Krosky-Meritt, Chris Godwin, Jalen Warren.
41:30Who do we got here? Kyle Pitts. And Bryce Young.
41:33Alfredo, any picks here that I just mentioned the last 12 picks or so?
41:37Jamie just took his third quarterback and it's Jacoby Brissett.
41:40The last 12 or so picks that really stand out?
41:43As I look at it, I'd probably say Kyle Pitts going that late works for me.
41:48He's a guy that I have around tight end five.
41:51So to see him go, what is this, tight end eight or nine?
41:54And as far down as he did, I think I would be probably avoiding the, the, the, the, the craft fan in Laporta area of the draft.
42:03And I mean, getting Pitts after you've already set up four running backs, your two quarterbacks, two wide receivers, it feels like
42:09a good build for what is that team number four.
42:12So yeah, that's the one that stands out for me.
42:15It's just the build. All right. We're going to take a little break here.
42:19I'm going to pause the draft and we are at pick one Oh six right now.
42:24We have about five or six rounds left. We'll be right back to finish it off.
42:29I'll be honest with you. I've never really enjoyed shopping for clothes.
42:32It's just not my thing, but I do like getting nice clothes and I like looking good and I like feeling confident when I get dressed.
42:40So what's the solution here? It's stitch fix. This is an online personal styling service that has helped so many people get better style effortlessly.
42:48So stop scrolling through a bunch of websites and stop driving to stores and just go to stitch fix.
42:53Here's how it works. It's very simple. You take a quick style quiz.
42:57You share your size, your vibe, your budget. You're going to get linked with a stylist and an actual human being, by the way.
43:04So you get linked to the stylist and they do the rest of the work.
43:09You get sent a fix box with clothes that actually fit you and make sense for your style and your needs.
43:15And then you try them on. You keep what you like.
43:18You send back what you want to return. The returns are free.
43:22The shipping is free. No subscription is required. And you're going to get a free try on for your first order.
43:28So get started today at stitchfix.com slash football for $20 off your first order.
43:32That's stitchfix.com slash football. All right. It is Friday morning here.
43:36So before we get back to the draft, quick programming announcements.
43:39Our draft-a-thon finale, our big show is Wednesday, August 26th, I believe that is.
43:43Yes. August 26th, 5 to 8 p.m. Eastern. Alfredo will be on.
43:47So will many other great guests around the industry.
43:50So we're looking forward to that. We've got CBS Sports Network at noon Eastern today.
43:54So if you're around this afternoon, turn on CBS Sports Network.
43:57You can see, if you miss it, you can see it on youtube.com slash fantasy football today.
44:02We're going to talk about players you can't forget about.
44:05The Breakfast Club edition. Don't you forget about me.
44:08And we've got a mailbag this afternoon, aren't you?
44:11Probably. I mean, I'm definitely going to do this.
44:13You know, Dan's not going to get the reference.
44:16But that's me, Jamie, and Dan. And then me, Jamie, and Dan again for the mailbag.
44:21But please put the draft-a-thon show on your calendar.
44:24I want to thank everyone who donated. We raised about $1,400 last night during that stupid tennis match that nobody cares about anymore ever.
44:31But we're now at $100. And we had the auctions closed last night.
44:35We made almost $30,000 from the auctions for competing in leagues with us.
44:39So, oh, we have one spot left in Alfredo's League.
44:42One spot. Sell this damn league out already. Someone go on tinyurl.com slash FFTdonate2026 and buy that spot in Alfredo's League.
44:48And let's get it filled here. We're close to selling out the FFT Open.
44:52But we are at just under $160,000 raised for St.
44:55Jude. And a big thank you to all of you out there who have donated.
44:59And a big thank you to someone named Claire Philpe, who some of you have probably interacted with.
45:05But she's more or less running all of this and has done an incredible job.
45:09She's kept us so organized. And she's helped us raise a lot of money.
45:13But this is amazing. I mean, every year I'm so blown away by people's generosity.
45:18So, thank you for that. I don't know if you guys had anything you wanted to say about the preseason games last night.
45:25Jamie, any major takeaways? I think you alluded to one with Arundi Gadsden.
45:29He's basically undraftable. Not that he was getting drafted, but just sucks because he looked really good last year.
45:34Just feels like Mike McDaniel wants to go in a different direction.
45:38And then it feels as if Jalen Naylor is not going to be a big factor for the Raiders early in the season.
45:45Trey Tucker seems like, at least on paper, the number one wide receiver.
45:49We had some questions in the offseason after they signed Naylor and not really anybody else.
45:54Naylor played with the reserves last night. Trey Tucker did not.
45:57So, I think that kind of speaks to whatever late round dart throw.
46:01I don't know if we did this on the air or off the air, the mention of the flex leagues.
46:07I took both with two of my last picks.
46:09Kind of the friendship strategy we talk about a lot just to see which one may emerge early in the season.
46:16It feels like I may be cutting Jalen Naylor sooner than I expected and holding on to Trey Tucker longer than I expected.
46:23Okay. Yeah, I was curious to see why Jalen Naylor played.
46:26I don't know if there was a reason for that, but never good when you're the one supposed starter playing with the backups.
46:33Alfredo, here's a comment from Patty. Stribbling is a beast.
46:36And he had four catches for 46 yards on five targets.
46:39And he dropped what could have been a 33-yard touchdown on a beautiful double move that he made.
46:44And I watched the All-22 this morning, and I was really, really impressed.
46:48Like, he got open. His moves, he separates, at least in this game, granted against some backups.
46:53But, yeah, I think that's the guy we got to talk about here.
46:57What do you think about Dijon Stribbling? And also, just so I don't forget, Kalen Black started and basically was an every
47:04down back while he was in the game. But Stribbling, Alfredo.
47:07Before he answers, please put up Matty's comment while Alfredo is answering because it is well worth it.
47:12Why does Brown look like he plays a prince at Disney?
47:16You know what? Someone commented this morning on my YouTube channel that Alfredo looks like handsome Shrek.
47:21And I think they meant it in a derogatory way.
47:24And I don't know how I feel about it.
47:26This is the second time that someone has said something like that I look like a cartoon character today.
47:32And I don't know if it's good or bad.
47:35It's just great. I mean, hair is great. Yeah.
47:38Everything. I mean, look, you could definitely call up Disney and see if they have a part for you.
47:43Live animation movie, like, perfect. But right now, Alfredo, I'd love for you to be our guest and tell us about Dijon Stribbling.
47:50Wow. Wow. What a transition. Stribbling. So Stribbling, I liked him coming out of Ole Miss.
47:55I'm sure everyone is saying that right now. He was one of those guys where I was like, oh, he could be
48:01a good find later in, like, early day three.
48:04And the Niners took him early. And then, of course, you kind of lose the excitement about it.
48:10You're like, oh, that was kind of a reach.
48:12But now more and more opportunity keeps opening up for him in San Francisco.
48:16And he just looks good. Like, at a certain point, you can't say, oh, it was a reach.
48:22He's just a good player with opportunity at this point in a good offense.
48:26So, yeah. Especially where he's going in drafts, he's one of those guys where I'm willing to take the risk.
48:32Because if he even has a decent rookie year, he's potentially a fantasy wide receiver three.
48:37And you're probably drafting him as a wide receiver four or five.
48:40So, the upside is there. I like the player.
48:43I don't want to get a little too over my skis because we do this with rookies.
48:48Especially ones that produce so heavily in the preseason.
48:51But I'm above excitement level on DeJong Stribble. I think that's the best way to frame it.
48:56Please start the draft so we can finish this thing.
48:59The other part, I think, to just keep in mind is everything he's doing, he's doing without Mike Evans and George Kittle on the field.
49:06Those are such... And McCaffrey. And McCaffrey. Well, I'm just talking about the receivers.
49:11But yeah, it's great. No, but they didn't throw to Kalon Black yesterday, right?
49:15They throw to McCaffrey all the time. The point would be is that he's looking the part.
49:20He is justifying the draft pick. Anybody that was doubting Deshaun Stribbling or questioning the 49ers has no room to talk at this point.
49:27But where he's getting steamed up in drafts is a play on, which is a good play, on a 30-plus-year-old Mike Evans struggling with injuries in camp.
49:35On a 32-year-old George Kittle coming off an Achilles injury.
49:38On a 30-plus-year-old Deebo Samuel. On a 30-plus-year-old Christian Kirk.
49:41It could work out great. It also could go a different direction because if those guys do stay healthy and they're not
49:48all going to miss games at the same time, he may not get the target share that he needs.
49:53So just understand that if we're talking a redraft.
49:56Okay, we're back to the draft here. After Jamie took Jacoby Brissett, Deshaun...
50:00Oh, Deshaun Stribbling, the next pick? I thought that's why you discussed it.
50:04Yeah, I was like, man, Adam is on his game.
50:07Absolutely not. Good transition, paying attention to the board.
50:09Cam Ward, Michael Pittman, Jaden Reed, Rico Dowdle. I took Tony Pollard as my RB3.
50:14I don't have a tight end. I really like Isaiah Likely.
50:17It's pretty clear he's going to be a big part of their offense.
50:21But Aaron Rodgers, do I have to take him?
50:24Because we are pretty much out of quarterbacks that are even going to keep their job.
50:29Yeah, I'm going to take Aaron Rodgers. I should have taken Likely.
50:32But then Likely... I should have taken him. What should I have done there?
50:36What do you guys think? I think I did the right thing.
50:40I think I did the right thing. I think it's easier...
50:43You should not question yourself when you make picks.
50:46Yeah. I think it's probably easier than you think to find a quarterback three later on in the season.
50:52But it's fine. I don't know that Rodgers is going to help you by starting.
50:56Like, is he going to score more than the running back 30 in any given week?
51:01I would hope so. He might not. It might be that bad.
51:04Yeah. Yeah. It's just... You look at your roster and you go, man, like, if Jordan Love gets hurt or Joe Burrow gets hurt, I'm screwed.
51:12And that may be the case with or without Aaron Rodgers.
51:15Yeah. I should have taken Likely. I should have taken Likely.
51:19Yeah. Who was the Colts offensive coordinator that was like, we don't have a plan B back in the day if Peyton
51:25Manning gets hurt like the season's done anyways? I don't know that Aaron Rodgers becomes a really good Tom Moore, I think.
51:32Yeah, I mean, you know... Probably. Maybe you should have taken Joe Flacco.
51:36Maybe. Yeah, you know what? I was a bad pick.
51:39I should have taken Likely. Do me a favor, guys.
51:42Don't take Likely. Let me just... Now, the other reason I didn't take Likely is we still have Kelsey and Kittle and Goddard.
51:49So, I feel like I could probably get one of them.
51:52But we'll see. After my... What do you guys think about Rico Dowdle going before Tony Pollard, by the way?
51:58And Jalen Warren, for that matter. Well, Jalen Warren went before him?
52:01Yeah. Warren and Dowdle both went before Pollard. What do you think about that?
52:06Warren and Dowdle went before Pollard. I'm fine with it.
52:09Dowdle, yes. Warren, yeah, I guess. I mean, they're all kind of in the same tier.
52:13You know, so it's a matter of can the Titans offense...
52:17I say that as I just took Wanda Robinson.
52:19But can the Titans offense look better than it did in the first preseason game against backup 49ers players?
52:25I think that's going to be the case. I think they'll improve as the season goes on.
52:30I think Pollard's still underrated. But the Steelers guys, you know, if one emerges of the other one, probably in a better spot.
52:37And, you know, it's a gamble, this one, which is the better of the two.
52:42There's definitely some buzz that Tyje Spears could have a bigger role than we'd like.
52:46So he might be a good pick late. Let's get into the latest picks here.
52:50We're in round 10. And it was Aaron Rodgers, Devon...
52:53Who the hell was that? No, Geno Smith. Believe it or not, I'm having trouble seeing the screen.
52:59RJ Harvey, Tua Tungvaluwa, Jordan Mason, Fernando Mendoza. Threw a pick six yesterday, but also made some really good throws.
53:05There was a drop. And then on the next play, a ball that I thought should have been caught.
53:11I wouldn't exactly call it a drop. He could have had some pretty good numbers other than the pick six.
53:16I thought he looked good yesterday. Wondell Robinson, Blake Corum, Corlin Sutton, KC Concepcion.
53:21Sutton and Concepcion going back-to-back is kind of weird when I've seen them, you know, usually four rounds apart, Jamie.
53:27What do you think? I mean, obviously Sutton's going to fall because of the addition of Jalen Waddell and the Pat Bryant,
53:33you know, hype to whatever extent you want to call it hype.
53:37Concepcion is clearly a player on the rise. And if the quarterback play can be competent in Cleveland, like he's going to
53:43be awesome because he's just got that much upside and ability.
53:47So it's a problem because it's Deshaun Watson and Shadir Sanders.
53:50But man, if they can just give him easy touches.
53:53I love the first preseason game. You know, the manufacturer touches are always cool when you see a player like this and
54:00has the upsides, you know, so jet sweeps and, you know, just putting the ball in his hands in easy locations.
54:06You know, he's going to do some great things with it.
54:09But I think you're talking, you know, floor versus ceiling here.
54:12And so if you want the floor player taking Corlin Sutton, if you want the ceiling play, I think it's a step two.
54:19Okay. After those two players. Well, didn't make a friend today because one of our one of our drafters here.
54:25Oops, there's turn on autopilot for someone. Oh, we got some we got some auto picks coming in here.
54:31Nathaniel team her glove took Isaiah likely. And I thought I told you not to do that, but you didn't want to listen.
54:38All right. So he takes likely and then Quentin Johnston.
54:41Oh, after likely was Mononga. Is that Gadsden who went there?
54:44No, Dallas Goddard. Goddard. Okay. Quentin Johnston, Carson Beck.
54:47It's so funny how you came to Florida and you can't figure out technology and your eyes are gone.
54:52You really become a senior citizen. It's the humidity.
54:55Really got some. You know, if you're wondering like, why didn't I scroll down on the draft board?
55:00If you're watching, I couldn't find the window. I've got so much going on here.
55:05Like I couldn't find the draft room. I went out.
55:08Draft board. Josh Downs has picked Rashad White to Jamie.
55:11Are we picking backups here? We're in round 11.
55:14Might still be picking some starters. I don't have a tight end yet.
55:18Let's see. We can start looking at some of these teams as we wind this podcast down.
55:23We got, we got a few more minutes. Four rounds left or three and a half rounds left.
55:28We're doing great. So Rashad White was the most recent pick.
55:31And now let's just look at the Midnight Expresses team.
55:34The only problem is I don't know if I can find.
55:38There we go. All right. We got to scroll up so that he just took.
55:42You need help? No, I'm good. All right. Here's his team.
55:45JSN. Oh, this is the team we talked about earlier.
55:48JSN, HN, Rice, Lawrence, Nix, Travion Henderson, Marvin Harrison Jr., Harold Fannin Jr., Dijon Stribling, Fernando Mendoza and Alec Pierce.
55:54I would say JSN, HN, Rasheed Rice, Lawrence, Bo Nix.
55:57That's great. The Midnight Express. I hated a lot of your picks after that, but that doesn't mean I'm right.
56:03But I never draft Travion Henderson. You drafted him over Brees Hall.
56:07I don't really like Marvin Harrison Jr. You drafted him over Evans, Odunze, Parker, Washington.
56:11I don't really draft Harold Fannin Jr. You drafted him over Kraft and Kyle Pitts.
56:16Stribling, fine. I'm not going to argue after that.
56:18I'm sorry, Midnight Express. Also not making friends with you today.
56:22My apologies. Let's look at pick number eight. At this point, remember, in round one, only two quarterbacks off the board.
56:28Eight teammate went with Amon Ross St. Brown, then Saquon Barkley.
56:31Did not take a quarterback until round six. So here's a way to build your team with going almost zero QB.
56:38Amon Ross St. Brown, Saquon Barkley, George. Oh, I'm on the clock.
56:41George Pickens, Zay Flowers, Garrett Wilson. Those were his first five picks.
56:45Four receivers. St. Brown, Pickens, Flowers, and Wilson. And one running back.
56:48I got to take Kelsey here as my tight end.
56:51Sorry. We'll get back to teammate in a second because it's an interesting build.
56:56I took likely. I mean, I took, I wish.
56:58I took Kelsey. And some good players left here.
57:01Makai Lemon returned to practice. Could take a look at him.
57:04Jordan Addison. Let's go with Jordan Addison. That's a great pick.
57:08Yeah. I haven't really. I definitely should have taken.
57:10Maybe I should have taken a running back. Whatever.
57:13Jordan Addison. All right. So back to teammate. Right.
57:16Because if you want to, if you want to really wait on quarterback, this is a team that did that.
57:22St. Brown, Barkley, Pickens, Flowers, Garrett Wilson. That's freaking cool.
57:25Baker, Mayfield, and Daniel Jones. We just stop right there.
57:28I mean, Alfredo, how do you feel about that team of Baker, Mayfield, and Daniel Jones?
57:32Saquon Barkley, Ramondre Stevenson's RB2. St. Brown, Pickens, Flowers, Garrett Wilson.
57:36The wide receivers sound a lot better than everything else.
57:39Where is he on the draft board? Sorry. I'm in the middle of my pick.
57:43Oh yeah. My bad. He's eighth. Eighth. Eighth. It's fine.
57:46I think you're going to get some very low end middling quarterback play.
57:50You really, I think the pick that needs to hit for you is one of those RB2s.
57:55Ramondre Stevenson or Jordan Mason, where you get them is fine.
57:58But I, I don't, I, especially this year and in super flex, I don't love the wide receiver heavy build that early.
58:05Interesting. That's beauty is in the eye. This is not a, uh, beauty in the beast joke, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
58:13Cause I really like this team a lot. Like, I mean, I, I like the, I like St.
58:18Brown. I like Barkley and I like flower pickings and flowers a lot.
58:22So the first four picks are great. It just, when you look at it as in its entirety and in the build
58:29and all of a sudden you're saying, okay, my quarterbacks aren't great.
58:32My running back too is not great. And I don't see tight end there.
58:36You just have so many positions where you're not great.
58:39Having that many good wide receivers really doesn't separate you from the rest of the pack.
58:44Hmm. Maybe his team will start off really good and then turn into a pumpkin.
58:49What do you think? Okay. You drafted Matthew golden in round 12.
58:52We're going to, I think we're going to end the podcast after round 12 because Jamie has to get into the office for CBS sports network.
59:00So, um, instead of looking at, let's just look at one more team.
59:04Uh, Alfredo, give me a number one through 12.
59:06That's not Jamie's team, my team or your team.
59:09Uh, let's go three. All right. Team three took Josh Allen.
59:12All right. First team to take a quarterback, then Drake London, then Dak Prescott.
59:17So this team is one of the strongest at quarterback with Allen and Prescott.
59:21Also Colston Loveland in the fourth round. So, I mean, getting Javante Williams in round five, I think was a really good
59:27pick for team three to get that RB one.
59:30You got Josh Allen, Drake London, Dak Prescott, Colston Loveland, Javante Williams, Christian Watson as wide receiver to quinch on Judkins as
59:37one of the flexes, Michael Wilson or Jalen Warren as the other flex Casey Concepcion, Carson Beck.
59:42And he just picked, or he or she just picked Romeo Dobbs.
59:45So, uh, the starting lineup is Allen and Dak, uh, Javante and Judkins London and Watson.
59:50Colston Loveland at tight end. And the flexes would be Michael Wilson and Jalen Warren.
59:55And I think so. Yeah. Solid. I don't love that.
59:58So many of the past catchers later on and skill players are attached to bad quarterbacks and bad offenses.
60:03You got two Browns there. Um, you you've got Michael Wilson and the Cardinals, which could be good, but you know, we'll see.
60:10Uh, there's I'm all for taking chances, but it kind of seems like there's a lot of risks set at all of
60:17the positions for, for that team, except quarterback and tight end, which seem to be really strong.
60:22Yeah. The Loveland pick, you know, was, was a, a pick that might make her because you're, you are when you, when
60:28you take two quarterbacks to the first three picks and then you take a tight end, you know, you're going to be
60:35kind of weak at the other positions. It's absolutely the make or break pick.
60:39You're taking level in the same round as McBride, meaning you are expecting him to be elite.
60:44And if he's not elite, your team is probably not very good this year.
60:48I should have said this earlier in the show, but my favorite thing about super flex is that I don't really think your draft position matters.
60:56You know, we get so many questions. Hey, I can choose my spot in the draft.
61:01Where should I pick? And you have your opinions.
61:04I want an early pick. I want a late pick.
61:07I want to make sure I get one of those, two of those top 12 running backs, whatever it is.
61:13We just did like two episodes on this in super flex.
61:16I really think it's just even footing, uh, for everyone.
61:19That's my favorite thing. Jamie, what were some of your main takeaways from this exercise today?
61:24Uh, if you don't want to be squeamish at quarterback, don't wait like I did.
61:28Uh, so, you know, maybe go a little bit sooner.
61:31I actually have a super flex draft at one 30.
61:34I'm picking seven. So this was a good lesson since I picked six here.
61:38Um, I think just, you know, the flip side of that is if you do punt on quarterback essentially or, or pass
61:45on quarterback or kick on quarterback, um, you can still pivot and build a strong roster.
61:50And so you got to take some chances, take some high upside players, you know, so hopefully guys like Brees Hall and,
61:56and Terry McClure and injuries and now competition, et cetera, you know, where you're getting value, uh, those guys hit.
62:02But in, in theory, I could have the number one receiver.
62:05I could have the number one tight end. I could have a very strong backfield with Ken Walker and, and Brees Hall.
62:12And then hopefully the quarterback play is good enough.
62:15You know, like Alfredo was saying in regards to Aaron Rogers, like you don't want to have the 30th best running back
62:21when you're talking about one of your quarterbacks playing.
62:24I know you were talking about a third quarterback, but essentially that's what I have here in CJ Stroud and Jacoby reset.
62:31Those aren't ideal number two quarterbacks, but if they're close enough to the top 20 guys and everything else works out for me, I'll be very competitive.
62:39So I think just the build matters here. When you want to take your quarterback, how soon you want to take your quarterbacks.
62:46Um, I really love what, uh, the team at pick seven did by waiting it out and getting Trevor Lawrence.
62:52Like that to me was fantastic. And again, hoping that had fallen to me one more pick.
62:57Okay. We're just about done with the draft. Um, different ways to go about it.
63:01I would, I would expect in a 12 team super flex league, I would expect the two, three turn to be pretty quarterback heavy in most drafts.
63:09And it was in this one. It didn't start until we got to the 24th pick, but then we had five of
63:16six quarterbacks got, I just feel like if you still, if you still have elite quarterbacks on the board at that point, they're going to start flying off.
63:24Um, and mate. Yeah. I don't know. Every, every super flex is kind of its own animal, but I think people might
63:31feel that way, especially once those top 12 running backs come off.
63:34And that's as soon as that happened. Soon as Omar and Hampton RB 12 was drafted five quarterbacks in the next six picks.
63:41Uh, that was one thing that stood out to me.
63:44See if it gets duplicated in our next super flex draft draft draft.
63:48Thank you to everyone who drafted with us. Uh, I would encourage you by the way, if you're not playing in a league with him, you're dumb.
63:56Yeah. One spot left for the FFT open. Um, I mean, gosh, I can't think of a, I can't think of a mom.
64:03I know you're watching donate. I can't think of a Disney Prince pod right now, but there's something out there.
64:09Uh, all right. Thanks everybody. Have a great day.
64:12Have a great weekend. Talk to you on CBS sports network and the mailbag.
