He benefits from the league's most favorable schedule according to Sharp Football Analysis, and he historically performs significantly better indoors, with six outdoor games on the schedule. 0:00This is Fantasy Football Today from CBS Sports. What a play!
0:03Can you believe this? He had no idea. It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
0:08Off to the races! And he stays on his feet!
0:11He's just gonna go the distance! Now here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie and Heath.
0:16It's Wednesday, it's hump day, it's September 2nd. We are a week away from football.
0:21What's up everybody? Welcome to Fantasy Football Today. The gang is all here to tell you lessons that we have learned from our real drafts.
0:29Not our mock drafts, but our real drafts. Plus, schedule alert!
0:32Who's got some tough schedules early? Some easy schedules early?
0:35Whose ears are ruptured? Did I scream too loud, Heath?
0:38No, no, no. That was perfectly fine. We're gonna have to have the how many defenses actually matter discussion when you're looking at fantasy schedules.
0:46Yeah. Well, Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars have a pretty tough schedule to start things off.
0:51Cleveland, at Denver, New England, at Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Houston.
0:54In their first six games and then a bye.
0:57And then the Colts might not have that bad of a defense.
1:00The Ravens might have a much better defense. That's after the bye.
1:04Yeah. So, I think the Jaguars have a pretty tough schedule.
1:08I'm not afraid to say that. Jack? Anyone? Okay.
1:10Okay, fine. Who are the defenses that matter? Clearly, the Rams matter.
1:14And what I did this morning, by the way, is I looked at three different websites.
1:19I looked at PFF, ESPN, and Sharp Football Analysis.
1:22Their rankings of defensive lines, front seven for Sharp Football, and secondaries.
1:26And I tried to come up with the consensus teams that were really good up front, really good in the secondary, and
1:32really bad up front, and really bad in the secondary.
1:36And what you come up with is, and plus, it's also common sense.
1:40Like, we know who's good. The Rams, the Texans, the Seahawks, the Eagles, the Steelers are the consensus really good teams up front.
1:47Rams, Texans, Seahawks, Eagles, Steelers. Not necessarily Denver or Baltimore, but they're in contention.
1:51And the teams that are really good in the secondary are New England, Houston, Seattle, the Rams, the Eagles, Denver, Baltimore.
1:58It's kind of, and Pittsburgh, it's kind of the same team.
2:01Like, Baltimore and Pittsburgh are sort of on the cusp.
2:04Houston, Denver, Seattle, Rams, Eagles, Patriots are the teams that show up a lot.
2:08Patriots more so in the back end than the front end.
2:12But we know they have a great run defense when Milton Williams is on the field.
2:17We saw that they were a brutal matchup last week.
2:20So I do feel confident saying that those teams are good defenses.
2:24I have no problem with that, Heath Cummings. Bam.
2:27So if I'm talking about what's going to matter for my projections, the Rams and the Broncos, absolutely 100% for sure.
2:33Probably also the Seahawks, Texans, Eagles. Maybe, maybe, probably not.
2:36Maybe the Patriots, Vikings, Steelers. The Vikings, Vikings allowed, I think one touchdown pass in their last eight games or something like that.
2:43I know they had some losses on defense, but they are coordinated by the list.
2:48That's my list. Maybe, maybe the guys have a different list, but it's not, it's not half of the league.
2:54No, I took the, I took the top eight, basically the top, you know, 25% of the league or whatever it is.
3:01All right. Anyway, we'll talk about that later. Uh, also a fact that I, as I was looking into these defenses, something
3:08I forgot from last year, the Jets did not record an interception in, uh, in 2025.
3:13They play the Titans week one, right? Or the Raiders week one.
3:17Titans. Titans. All right. Maybe they'll get it. Let's get some big news.
3:21We're also going to give you, like I said, the lessons we learned from, from drafts.
3:26Oh, Hey, Jamie, I don't think you've spoken. Good morning.
3:29Good morning. Okay. You've spoken. George Kittle traveled to Australia.
3:32Heath back to you. I think I heard you talking before the show that you might be moving Kittle up in your rankings.
3:39I was too low on George Kittle. I didn't expect him to recover this quickly.
3:44Modern medicine is fantastic. He should, he is in the, um, it's Kittle fan and likely in one tier now for me.
3:51Jamie, your reaction, George Kittle on the, on the trip to Australia.
3:54That's great sign. Still not a guarantee that he's going to play, but you know, great sign that he's with the team
4:01and, you know, trending in the right direction after we had the, uh, I guess the comment from Kyle Shanahan, something about a setback.
4:09I don't exactly remember what the quote was, but you know, scaring fantasy managers, I guess for, for a little bit there.
4:15But yes, that's the tier he belongs in. Um, you know, the, the back half of the, the middle group.
4:22Okay. Uh, we, so who's taking, he said Kittle fan and likely that's how you rank them.
4:27I'm Heath. As of this second. Yes. Dave Kittle fan and likely rank them.
4:31Likely fan and Kittle. Jamie likely Kittle fan. Okay.
4:34The Packers say they have not seen the Josh Jacobs video.
4:37I thought we'd take a look at Marshawn Lloyd's ADP on NFC where you can, you know, just look at yesterday.
4:44Okay. Where's Marshawn Lloyd going? Where's Josh Jacobs going?
4:47Lloyd 21 drafts was RB 29 on average 74th overall, just after Jonathan Brooks and Jalen Warren.
4:52And just before Tony Pollard, uh, that's Marshawn Lloyd.
4:55Josh Jacobs was RB 47 overall, a hundred RB 47, 136 overall.
4:59And yeah, Dave, I'll throw this out. Do you think it could be a tough start to the year for the Packers
5:05run game at Minnesota week week one and then at the jets, a team that could, they, they traded for to Vandre sweat.
5:13They could be better on the interior, at least that Minnesota in week one at the jets and week two, does that
5:19concern you at all when it comes to them?
5:22Sure. And part of it has to do with the fact that I'm not sure the Packers offensive line is particularly good.
5:29And they've been rated pretty low by all the offensive line projectors in the inner sphere.
5:34I think that the jets and the Falcons matchups are going to be favorable.
5:38I think the bears matchup in week five will be favorable.
5:42I don't, I don't, I'm not running away from Lloyd because of his offensive line or his schedule.
5:47I think we're, we're pretty much set with, he's an RB two candidate for however long that he stays healthy.
5:54And for however long Josh Jacobs is suspended. Yeah.
5:57Look, Minnesota, they did, they did lose Jonathan Grenard.
5:59Who else did they lose from that defense? They, they lost both of their veteran D tackles, I believe.
6:05And their first pick is, is not in good shape right now.
6:09So they may not be quite as good as they were last year, but they usually end up being a pretty good defense.
6:16So, so green Bay starts at Minnesota, but then it's pretty good after that at the jets, just for overall for the
6:23team at the jets, Atlanta at Tampa Bay, Chicago, Dallas at Detroit, Carolina.
6:27It's actually, it looks really good for green Bay after week one.
6:31Um, Jamie, Josh Kendall, the athletic thinks that Bijan Robinson fantasy managers may not like how many goal line carries Brian Robinson gets.
6:38And he also says that if to a tongue of Iloa starts 17 games this season, damn, I did miss my laughter soundbite there.
6:45Kyle pits may have the breakout fantasy season. People have been waiting for.
6:49What do you think of this speculation from Josh Kendall, the athletic?
6:53Mike, both things make sense. You know, you have a scenario here where basically Brian Robinson is the Tyler Algier replacement, but
7:00it still was just kind of a speed bump, I guess.
7:03And Bijan Robinson being an elite fantasy option last year.
7:07So it's just one thing I think to consider if anybody still favors Bijan over Gibbs with now Gibbs having really no competition with Pacheco on IR.
7:15So the lions have, they kept five running backs, including Pacheco coming out of the final cuts.
7:20And so we'll see who ends up being number two now until Pacheco is ready.
7:25I think just in the case of Bijan Robinson, you just understand like there's going to be some moments where you're frustrated because of what Brian Robinson does.
7:34I, you know, we've kind of illustrated this a lot.
7:37And I know Dave came around to it after watching the first preseason game.
7:41If two of starts, there's going to be a lot of dink and dunk to pits.
7:46If panic starts, there's going to be a lot of dink and dunk passes to pits, just probably not as much.
7:53But this is the Kevin's to fancy offense that favors tight ends, loves tight ends, gives tight ends many opportunities to say that this is the breakout season.
8:01I don't know if he's going to be that much better than he was last year in totality, but maybe just more
8:08consistent in the games that we saw with and without Drake London.
8:12Fun fact, Adam. Yeah. Uh, Tua has the same number of 17 game seasons as Joe Burrow and in six seasons has
8:19appeared in one more game than Joe Burrow. Wow.
8:21Um, that's, that is a fun fact. It's not great for Joe Burrow.
8:26Just a thought on, on Bijan Robinson. It's kind of amazing.
8:29He averaged 22 PPR points per game last year with 11 touchdowns in 17 games, seven rushing for receiving.
8:35And he split the goal line work basically evenly with Tyler Algier last year.
8:39The year before that, he had 10 goal line carries while Algier had five last year.
8:44It was six for Algier and Bijan had five, but I just, I'm amazed at how good he could.
8:50He could be 22 points per game with only 11 touchdowns in 17 games.
8:54Uh, all right. Next news item here before we get to our lessons learned.
8:59Jesse Newell of the athletics says the chiefs view Kenneth Walker as a potential three down back.
9:04So we did this exercise last week. I think we're going to do it again.
9:09Get your, get ready to exercise. Um, okay. No, no.
9:12Yeah. One high. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, it is Kenneth Walker, Omarion Hampton, Saquon Barkley, and Devon Achan.
9:17Who are your top two in that group? Kenneth Walker, Omarion Hampton, Saquon Barkley, Devon Achan.
9:22And Jamie, Kenneth Walker and Omarion Hampton, Dave, Achan Walker.
9:25Achan Walker. All right. So Walker for all three of you.
9:29Achan. That's some full PPR. I think it's a flip for me if it's half or non PPR.
9:34Okay. Achan for two of you. And you said Hampton, right?
9:38Hampton Walker, Jamie Walker Hampton. Walker Hampton. It's good that you're paying attention.
9:42Walker Hampton, Texas Ranger and Ashton Gentty is on the mend.
9:45I wouldn't say he's necessarily a lock for week one, but don't be surprised.
9:50And man, we hope he plays week one because he's facing the dolphins.
9:54It literally might be the difference since the injury yesterday in our super flex.
9:58You drafted him. Oh, super flex. Wait, how far after Derek Henry or RBA, whoever RB 11 was, did you draft Gentty?
10:05I will look that up and tell you, but I took him in the fourth round.
10:10So it was a super receiver. Yeah. Sorry. Super super flex, right?
10:13Yeah. Yeah. Correct. So receiver, receiver, quarterback, Gentty. Listen, I don't want to talk about my teams too much, but I just
10:20want everyone to know that I finally drafted Jameer Gibbs yesterday and I'm so fired up about it.
10:26Let's go. That landed in your lap. Oh, amazing.
10:29What a gift. Third overall in the super flex league, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson.
10:33And then I was like, Oh, let me get Jameer Gibbs.
10:36Went after Josh Allen went and Jameer Gibbs got taken, but it was an auto pick.
10:41And then Jack came back and he was like, I'll take Lamar Jackson.
10:46Like, yeah, let's go. All right. It worked out well for me too, because Robert Thomas took Puka right before chase.
10:52And I like chase better than Puka. Yes. I saw that.
10:55It was weird that chase was, do you remember who your quarterbacks are?
11:00If you got Gibbs in round one, I didn't take a quarterback until pretty late.
11:04I took Gibbs, AJ Brown. What did I take in the third round?
11:08You took in the third round, Adam Azer took AJ Brown.
11:12Oh, so wait, who did I? Oh, I took, I took Gibbs Hampton, AJ Brown from the three spot.
11:18Jared Goff, Tyler Shuck and Daniel Jones are my quarterbacks.
11:21All right. All right. So you want to know what running backs went in between Henry and Jenty?
11:26Yeah. And how many, how far apart? Only one.
11:29And it was Travis H. And Henry went with the 34th pick in round three.
11:34And I took Jenty with the 43rd pick in round four.
11:37Listen to Heath's team, Dave. You went almost as far as I did at the quarterback position, but I did, I did one up you, I think.
11:46Yeah. Oh yeah. Uh, so I started off with, uh, Jonathan Taylor, Christian McCaffrey, George Pickens, Zay Flowers, Jeremiah Love, Sam Laporta.
11:52Six picks before he took a quarterback. I counted.
11:5512 team league. Yeah. That's okay. Quarterbacks. Nice. Uh, I have CJ Stroud, Bryce Young, and both Falcons quarterbacks.
12:01Yeah. I mean, you're in great shape there, but I feel perfect.
12:05So I, I, I, I highlighted three teams in the draft of three different quarterback approaches.
12:10One was Heath's about waiting for quarterbacks. One was Jack's, uh, who took quarterback quarterback to start a draft.
12:16And then I just wrote about mine, which was more like just kind of a balanced approach.
12:21Uh, so if you want to read and see it, if you're not watching the show and seeing what's on the screen
12:28quickly, um, you can get a full breakdown of our latest super flex.
12:32Oh, super flex is the best. I mean that you could just, there's so many ways you can go and it's so much fun.
12:39And where else can you get? It wasn't loud enough.
12:42I think in round four or round five, wherever you got him, he got him in right.
12:48The end of round five, five 11 end of round five.
12:51I love it. Okay. Um, leftovers league draft is tonight.
12:54Heath and I have the second pick. If you have the first pick in the leftovers league draft tonight, please don't take Jameer Gibbs.
13:02When is our auction draft Dave? I have absolutely no idea.
13:05Two lessons. Would you like to commission that one too, Jamie?
13:09No, that is all yours. I don't know if it is two lessons learned from recent drafts from each of us.
13:15I'm just, I'll just go first and knock them out real quick here.
13:19Uh, I am so out on Harold Fannin jr.
13:22And it's so out. What's that? And ADP is zooming to the sky.
13:26He's up to 72nd overall. Really? Yes. He's flying up draft boards.
13:30I can't bring everybody heard you were out. I can't bring myself to draft him.
13:34I almost drafted Kelsey over him yesterday, which I think would be a little silly, but not really.
13:40I mean, Kelsey was, it was a top five tight end when my homes was healthy and I don't know.
13:46I just hate the Browns offense and I hate this.
13:49I love, you know, conception and Boston, whatever. And I, I love fan.
13:53He's a great player, but I just can't bring myself to draft him unless it's, you know, round nine, I'd say, but
14:00I'm not wasting a mid round pick on a, on him.
14:04Yeah. Yeah. Am I exciting is going to be next year when they get a quarterback, it's going to be great, but am I crazy here?
14:12Am I going too far? I mean, you should be out on him on call at costs, like where he's going right now is ridiculous.
14:20Um, if you want to draft him as a late option and he falls to the right spot, then sure.
14:26Why not? Like you can easily pair him with, you know, a guy you like a lot in Joe on Johnson or
14:33Dalton Schultz or Dalton Kincaid, you know, another guy that has upside, but questions, you know, so there's different routes you can
14:39go when it comes to drafting Fannin without reaching for Fannin.
14:43But, you know, I, I think to take him in basically round six, like that's nuts.
14:48Yeah. And I just, I'd rather just, there's so many wide receivers I like in round seven and eight basically, or maybe
14:55it's a quarterback there or something like that, uh, that I'd rather just keep waiting.
14:59Um, but all right. I just can't bring myself to draft him.
15:03My other one is about Kyron Williams. And I'm going to tell you about that when we come back from break before we go to break though.

17:09YouTube app on your TV, making it simpler to engage and interact with content on both devices with no interruptions.
17:16Okay. Um, I want to talk about Kyron Williams here.
17:19Um, I don't know what it is. I think, you know, for me done doing so many mock drafts, been happy to
17:26take Kyron Williams in the third round, but now doing these real drafts, I'm starting to feel like there's some downside there.
17:32Um, in the last 11 games, the average 14.9 carries per game, the average 14.7 PPR fantasy points per game.
17:39And that was with him playing 63.4% of the snaps and Blake Corum playing 33% of the snaps.
17:44They split goal line carries perfectly evenly. They both had eight.
17:48Um, yeah, I mean, he doesn't, he's, he does play a lot on third down, but he never gets thrown to on third down.
17:55And again, he, he would have been those point totals, 14.7 PPR points per game, which is what Kyron averaged in his last 11.
18:03That would have made him RB 14 per game in full PPR.
18:06He would have been better in non PPR. Basically the same though.
18:10And half PPR. I don't know. I'm getting cold feet on him.
18:14I feel like I, I, they, there were those reports about it being more closer to a 50 50 split.
18:20He's been so solid and so consistent, but I think, uh, I think I'm moving him a little bit down.
18:26I think I'm moving him down to a fourth round pick.
18:30Uh, so this goes directly into one of mine, which I, I just kind of did this in a couple of drafts
18:36recently to try to get some different exposure. Cause I have too much of the same wide receivers in this range, but I feel so gross.
18:45I, maybe I think the kids say I, I get the ick.
18:48Is that, is that the term? I even know that one.
18:52Yeah. You get the, every time. And it's not just Kyron.
18:55It's HN it's Javante. It's Swift. It's whole. Every time I take one of those high end RB twos at the three,
19:02four turn over Zay or burden or Loveland or Tedaroa.
19:05I just like those wide receivers and Loveland. So I feel, I get so much more energized and excited by my team when I draft those guys.
19:14Then when I draft one, I think my, my biggest takeaway is I don't want to draft the high end RB twos.
19:20I want to draft the RB twos that are a little cheaper.
19:24Like who, like the Judkins group. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
19:27Okay. So I think it kind of blends into the, I think what you're getting at is, you know, you had put
19:34in notes at least about going hero RB. Yeah.
19:37It's kind of why I gravitated toward going RB RB with the first and the first two picks.
19:42If you're at the back end around one, because exactly what you said, like I'm perfectly fine.
19:47If I have my first two receivers are Zay flowers and DJ more, you know, or, or Jalen Waddle or whoever the case is.
19:55Maybe Tedaroa McMillan, Garrett Wilson, you know, that whole group, like, and starting with Walker and Hampton.
20:00Like I love that. Yeah. But, but here's my question, right?
20:04So personally, I, I think I'm fine with Javante and Travis H and, you know, at that, I just ahead of Kyron Williams personally.
20:11And that's the thing. It's like, he obviously has his preferences.
20:14I love the way you phrase it. Like you get energized by those picks.
20:19And I think we've all done fantasy long enough to know that just because you got energized by that pick doesn't mean it was the right one.
20:27Right? Like last year, I remember hating my Tucker craft pick and the super flex.
20:32He goes like, gosh, I can't believe I had to settle for Tucker craft.
20:36It's one of my best picks. Um, but yeah, I mean, there is that feeling of just like loving your team and
20:43for Heath, he's not going to love his team as much.
20:47If he takes a high end RB to at near the three, four turn over those wide receivers, you just mentioned for
20:53me, I'm not going to love it as much as if I take Kyron over those wide receivers that he's just mentioned.
21:00Um, but my issue is, and I think this ties into something that, that Dave wants to talk about his draft takeaways
21:07is like, if you only have, and Heath, you're talking about a hero RB build.
21:12If you only have one running back and you're picking late in a 12 team league through your first four picks, what's
21:19left for you at the end of round five and the beginning of round six, you might miss out on that big
21:25tier unless you like Marshawn Lloyd there. Cause he'll be, he'll probably be there, but you know, Dave, am I hitting on
21:32something that you wanted to talk about with the, the, the drying up of the running back position, uh, late in round five.
21:39It's important for every drafter to know when they feel like that position is drying up.
21:44Let me throw some names at you as an example, Bucky Irving, David Montgomery, Quinchon Judkins, Jadarian price, basial tootin.
21:51Um, you can even throw, you can throw, I guess, Ramondre Stevenson into that group as well.
21:56Maybe even Marshawn Lloyd, how many of those names give you the yack?
22:00And if you, if you get the yack with most of those names, then you should absolutely go at least hero RB.
22:07If not follow Jamie's lead and just wedge yourself into RB RB to begin your draft, because those are the running backs.
22:14Their ADP, most of those late round five. And that seems a little too early for running backs that could be trap
22:20backs, certainly low touchdown guys, or in the case of somebody like Montgomery and older back who does have high touchdown potential,
22:27but really a big question about just how much work you'll get in the passing game.
22:32And so on. And the more running backs that make you nervous, the more you should gravitate toward that position early on.
22:39And as I sit here, some of those names make me nervous.
22:43I don't think there's any question about it, but I think that there are enough names.
22:48I could probably give you the number at like 22, I don't know, maybe even 21 running backs that I don't get
22:55the ick from and that I'd be happy to have in my starting lineup.
22:59And because of that, I'm, I'm okay trying to get two running backs with my first five picks.
23:05But by the time I get to round six and buddy, after that, it's ugly.
23:09And it's really hard to find running backs that you feel really good about starting.
23:14Well, I think it also comes down to like where you're drafting in, in the round, in the first round or, you
23:21know, wherever, wherever your job position is, because like we've done.
23:24And I don't know in the exercise you guys have done in our pick by pick series of comparing your first time
23:31we did this in July to the second time we just did it.
23:35And how very similar it was in terms of rounds.
23:38So I actually write out or I, I, I list all the draft picks so that we have a landing page for the entire thing.
23:46And so in, in just going through it, there was like so much similarity despite the fact that we have a month worth of month worth of change.
23:55And now some, some obviously was dramatic, the Packer situation, et cetera, stuff like that.
23:59But like, um, it's almost like you could see an ADP or flex this, like, you know, which running backs are going
24:06in the first 20 picks and kind of where they slot in, you know, whether it's HN over Walker or Walker over
24:13Hampton or, you know, however that goes at the back end of the first round being part of second round.
24:19And then you kind of see the way the, the, the flow goes, you know?
24:24So like Swift and, and Travis HN have moved up because of injuries to their backfields.
24:29Um, you've seen, you know, the, the sort of shift a little bit and where Trevion has gone and Ramondre has gone
24:36and they've gotten close together, you know? So it's just some of the, that movement.
24:40And I think that changes a little bit of what you're deciding on.
24:45But I think in, in the case of some of the guys you listed, Dave, like if you want to make sure
24:51you get those guys before getting to that next group, in some cases you have to reach for them and you're passing up some good wide receiver value.
25:00Because if you just don't want to be in that range of running backs and just kind of guaranteeing yourself, so like
25:07you get to that round five spot and it's like, okay, like we've started to discuss Ramondre in this range.
25:13Obviously, Marshawn Lloyd has moved into this range. Jonathan Brooks has climbed to this range.
25:18You know, that might change now that Chuba's back at practice, but you kind of get the point.
25:23This push of, of running backs. And I wonder in the next week or so, if we get clarity on the Steeler
25:30situation or the commander situation or something of these, you know, the Vikings, like if there's an even more of a push
25:37coming for one or two guys that, you know, may thrust themselves into that range of running backs or conversely push them
25:44down, you know, as we're seeing with Trevion, for example, with his, his injury now that has, has changed a little bit.
25:51So I think it's kind of dependent on, you know, what your build is, where you are and kind of how you're
25:58willing to reach or not reach for those guys.
26:00If you're comfortable enough, especially if a hero RB built, like once you get past, okay, now I love my receivers.
26:07I love my quarterback. I love my tight end.
26:10And I only started with, uh, Saquon Barkley, but now I'm just throwing a lot of draft capital at one of the
26:17Steelers guys, one of the commanders guys, a Broncos guy, et cetera.
26:20And just kind of building out your team that way.
26:23Yeah. And I, I think the other thing to remember, I think true hero RB drafters would, would affirm this is like,
26:30just because you pass on running back at the three, four turn doesn't mean that you have to reach on a running back at the five, six turn.
26:39Like you, you can just start a team with Joe Burrow and three insane wide receivers, one good running back, Sam Laporta
26:46at tight end, and then draft or Kyle Pitts, if you like him more.
26:50And then when you get to the eight, nine turn, there's seven, eight turn, there's still going to be Jordan Mason and
26:57Blake Corum and bill and Chuba Hubbard a little later.
27:00And draft draft pollards probably not going to be there.
27:03He'll be there at the eight. So just to that point though, he's, cause I think it's, it's great.
27:09I think if you're in a three receiver league, it's a lot better to do that unless you're in a two receiver
27:16league and you want to take a quarterback early or earlier because like, I know for me, like I find myself in
27:23kind of this no man's land when I go hero RB and it's a two receiver league and a flex.
27:29So now I've got my two receivers. I got my flex.
27:32I got my tight end. And I got my one running back and now it's just this mess of all the quarterbacks
27:39are still kind of in that, you know, that, that big group of Burrow through Caleb.
27:44You know, they're all still there, right? Somebody's the first two or three quarterbacks come off the board.
27:50And so like what I find myself doing just because I don't want to pass up on talent, I'll take a fourth
27:57receiver even though I don't need one because I don't want to just reach for Rico Dowdle at that point.
28:03You know, I'll play it out another round and see if, okay, I'm comfortable enough in PPR to go Kenneth Gamewell if
28:10I have to and then just kind of, you know, just keep backfilling it that way.
28:15So it gets gross, but like I don't want to pass up on Marvin Harrison to take Rico Dowdle even though he'd
28:22be my fourth receiver if that makes sense. You know, somebody in that range.
28:26So I think that's where people kind of get in trouble a little bit to your point like they're reaching for running
28:33backs is I filled my two receivers. I filled my flex.
28:36I filled my tight end. I could probably still wait on quarterback because there's still great players there.
28:42Now, what do I do? And so it's that's the conundrum I think that people find themselves in.
28:47And so what I do when I'm in that hero RB conundrum is I just fire as many shots as I can
28:54at the running back position from round eight on.
28:57And I admit to myself, okay. But it's not round eight though, Dave.
29:01It's like round six. Like that's kind of where you named a lot of players that you would have on your team.
29:08So if you want to say from round seven, we start firing on running back.
29:13My FFT open team in Joey's league was exactly where this happened.
29:16We didn't want to take a quarterback yet. We already had all those positions filled.
29:21And in round six, we just took Marvin Harrison Jr.
29:24Right. To have one more upside wide receiver. Yep.
29:27Because we didn't like the running backs in that range.
29:30Right. And so what did you do starting in round seven?
29:34I don't remember. You probably started taking more running backs.
29:37So I did the same approach in both of my FFT open drafts.
29:41And I felt so bad for Lewis, who I drafted.
29:44I still like our team. We still have a good chance.
29:47But every time from that point on, there would be a run of seven running backs drafted right before we picked at the next turn.
29:55And so our running backs didn't really come together in the same way they did in my other FFT open league.
30:02But yeah, I mean, it's you just take as many as you can.
30:06Hopefully. That's right. I'm going to show you your team, Heath.
30:09Which one? This is the right one. Nope, that's not the right one.
30:13That's from last night, I think. I'm going to try to show you your team.
30:18From your FFT open league, which you did go here ORB, but from the one spot.
30:23So you, sorry, takes me a second to do this.
30:26Here we go. All right. So you go in Gibbs, Pickens, Bowers at the 2-3 turn.
30:31Abuka, Burden at the 4-5 turn. Jaden Daniels, Tony Pollard.
30:34So Tony Pollard, what round was that? Round seven?
30:37Seven. First pick around seven. Okay, and then let me find the draft board here and I'll scroll down.
30:43Which, by the way, is pretty close to his CBS ADP for Pollard.
30:47But you didn't double up on running back there.
30:49Like you could have gone Pollard-Corum, but instead you went Pollard-Quentin Johnston as your fourth receiver.
30:54And then you took Kyle Monongai, Zach Charbonnet, Isaiah Pacheco, before he was on IR, and Braylon Allen.
31:00And Mekhi Lemon. Yeah, Mekhi Lemon. But your running backs are Gibbs, Pollard, Monongai, Charbonnet, Pacheco, Braylon Allen.
31:06So, yeah. I mean, look, remember, it's not over on draft day.
31:09There's going to be injuries. There's going to be guys to pick up off the waiver wire.
31:15If you told me I could do that every time and in my rankings have the number one tight end and three
31:21of my top 20 wide receivers and a top five quarterback for me and Jaden Daniels, I'd be happy.
31:27I'm thrilled with my second running back options being Pollard, Monongai, Charbonnet, Braylon Allen.
31:32That's fantastic. And that's the point, right? You just need one of those guys for your lineup each week.
31:38And if you get lucky, and let's say Tony Pollard just has a season way better than we anticipate.
31:44Brian Dable just gets in the ball in a bunch of exciting ways, and he ends up being great.
31:49Your team is going to be way, way more competitive because of it.
31:53Or even if it's Braylon Allen because Brees Hall, something happens.
31:57He wins Powerball, and Braylon Allen becomes the future back there.
32:00Any one of those things can help your lineup, and that's the point.
32:04You're just going to take as many shots at running back as you can.
32:09And in the fairly unlikely event that one of those running backs does not become your guy, Keith, you're going to work on the waiver wire all year.
32:17You're not going to be a passive fantasy manager, and you'll find somebody off the waiver wire at some point to be your RB2.
32:25Hopefully, Jameer Gibbs is a stud, and the rest of your team, you drafted a bunch of studs, you should be fine.
32:32So this is the case for Hero RB where you avoid, I guess this is where we talk about dead zone trap back running backs.
32:40You avoid those guys, and you just load up on a bunch of running backs who you're taking shots on.
32:46In Heath's case, round seven plus, but I think you could even do it round eight plus.
32:51Okay, but I think, well, yeah, I think everything that we've talked about here with running back is pointing to the end of a tier, right?
32:59And to me, you guys, we've done this. I know we've done this before, but it's worth repeating.
33:05To me, the end of the tier is mid to late round five.
33:09One of Dave's takeaways was round six running backs get pretty yucky, and that tier consists of Quinchon Judkins, Cam Scadaboo, Bucky
33:16Irving, and this is not in order of ADP.
33:18I'm just rattling off names. Judkins, Scadaboo, Irving, David Montgomery, Bejal Tootin, Jadarian Price.
33:23That's how I think drafters see it. I think Marshawn Lloyd should be in that tier.
33:28Not everybody does. I don't think ADP is going to reflect that.
33:31But the name's- Yeah, potentially Ramondre. Yeah, I mean, you guys think Ramondre should be in that tier?
33:37He should be. 100%. If you're putting Lloyd in that tier, then I think Ramondre belongs there.
33:42Right, but I don't know if Lloyd really should belong in that tier.
33:46I think that might just be an Adam thing.
33:49I would say if you're putting Scadaboo in that tier, I think Ramondre belongs in that tier.
33:55Yeah, very fair. Well, that's fine. Yeah, I mean, again, this is where I see ADP, and based on yesterday's drafts on NFC, the 21 of them.
34:03Well, I think that's the point, is find the guys who are in that tier for you that aren't being drafted in that tier.
34:10It could be Ramondre. It could be Tony Pollard.
34:13It could be one of the Steelers if you really like them.
34:17That's probably the 11 to 12-point tier. But that's, okay, Ramondre is not in that tier in terms of ADP.
34:23Ramondre is after that, and Lloyd is probably after that, and the Steelers guys are after that.
34:28But my point is those guys, Judkins, Scadaboo, Tootin, Bucky, Montgomery, Price, ADP suggests that they might all be gone by pick
34:3560, by the end of round five. Hold on, sorry.
34:38I'm almost done. If you are picking 10th, 11th, or 12th, and you only have one running back through your first four
34:45picks, just be aware, you may not get any of those guys at the end of round five, beginning of round six.
34:52And then you have to decide. Is it a reach to take Ramondre there?
34:56Is it a reach to take Lloyd there? Is it a reach to take Pollard or Dowdle?
35:02Do I take two different positions and grab a great quarterback if he falls to me, grab Laporta or Pitts or whatever,
35:09and then just take the Corums and the Menongais and the Masons of the world later?
35:14But that's the most important takeaway for me in terms of ADP is that there is a clear tier break, I think,
35:20at running back that stops at the end of round five, even before that, according to average draft position.
35:26And you need to be aware of that if you're drafting late.
35:30Well, here's the draft we did last night for St.
35:33Jude. So it was me, Adam, Heath, and Thomas, and eight people who donated to St.
35:38Jude. So this is mixing it with people that obviously don't do this for a living.
35:43So round five was Quinshawn Judkins to start the round.
35:46Jadarian Price, three picks later. Bucky Irving right after that.
35:49So that's 49, 52, 53. Montgomery, the second to last pick of the round at 59.
35:54Then here's what happened in round six. Round six with the second pick of the round.
35:59I took Montgomery, second to last pick, and then the second pick.
36:03Second to last pick of round five, second pick of round six.
36:07So Montgomery and Stevenson were back-to-back selections for me.
36:1067th overall was Marshawn Lloyd. 68th overall was Jonathan Brooks.
36:13And those are the only running backs in rounds five and six.
36:16So to your point, Adam, there is kind of a line or a tear break after the Montgomery Tootin price group.
36:23Tootin went, I think, a little early in this draft.
36:26He went in late round four. So it kind of speaks to what you're talking about here.
36:31And then round seven started Pollard and Henderson and Jalen Warren.
36:35And so this is where you kind of get into that problem, like Keith was talking about, of are you, are you
36:42reaching for running backs just because you feel like you need to fill the position or do you really love these guys?
36:48And this was a two, two running back, two receiver, one flex league.
36:52Yeah. Right. So, so you're, you have to ask yourself, am I okay with Ramondre Stevenson as my RB2?
36:58Am I okay with Marshawn Lloyd or Jonathan Brooks or any of those guys, Pollard Steelers guys as my RB2?
37:05If you are, then fine. If you're not, then if you're watching the show, take a look at what team 12 did.
37:11Team 12 went Kenneth Walker, Omari and Hampton, Josh Allen, Garrett Wilson, Tyler Warren.
37:16Didn't take a third running back until like round eight, which was Jordan Mason.
37:20But if you look at team 12 that went Walker and Hampton to start, if he had gone Walker and Jefferson, then
37:27he, then he may not have felt as good about his team because Montgomery got picked by Jamie at the 11th pick of round five.
37:35By the time we get to pick 60, all of those running backs in that tier are gone.
37:40So he would have had to take Stevenson. The only thing I want to make sure that people hear is you're coming
37:47really close to framing this as if we see a big difference between all the running backs that are going to be
37:54gone by the end of round five and the running backs that are left.
37:58Yeah. I, I don't, I know there's some guys that Jamie thinks that go later that should be in that tier.
38:05I know, I'm not sure about Dave, but you, it were not, it's not that we're saying that your only chance to
38:12have a good RB two is going to be gone before the five, six turn.
38:16Right. Right. You need to decide by looking at which guys are going to be gone.
38:21If you think are, those are the only guys that could, that's, that's the way the draft's acting like it doesn't necessarily mean it's true.
38:29Good point. Well said. Exactly the point. You've got to figure out which running backs start to give you the egg.
38:36All right. So lessons learned so far for me, I'm out, I'm out on Harold Bannon.
38:41I'm having trouble drafting Kyron Williams in round three, Jamie.
38:44Don't be afraid to start running back, running back.
38:47Dave running back is sketchy by round six. Heath prefers hero RB and he feels no joy when he drafts a running
38:53back over Zay flowers, McMillan burden and Colson Loveland at the three, four turn.
38:58That means we have two lessons left to give one from Jamie, one from Dave.
39:02And we will do that when we come back on fantasy football today.
39:07Jamie's got a lesson about quarterbacks. Dave has one about tight ends.
39:10Jamie go. Yeah. If you want to put the draft up again, Thomas, that we did last night, it's just kind of reflective.
39:17I think of where everybody's at with quarterbacks, which is great.
39:21Is that everybody's waiting. And so it's the, the gamble of when do you want to, you know, dip your toe in
39:28that pool, especially when you want to take Josh Allen.
39:31So if you look at it from this draft, Josh Allen went in round three, Lamar, am I right?
39:37Thomas was around three. Yeah. Thomas, uh, Josh Allen went around three, Lamar Jackson around four, Drake may around like, it's not,
39:44we're seeing like a run on quarterbacks. Once the first guy comes off the board.
39:48And when you read our pick by pick series, uh, I had the seventh pick.
39:53I took Josh Allen around four and I was like, okay, at least we'll start to see the couple, you know, guys come off the board.
40:01And it was like, I should have known, you know, who I was drafting with.
40:06And, you know, another lesson learned is know who you're drafting with, but you know, it was, uh, everybody continued to wait and wait, wait.
40:13And it's just something you have to be prepared for is that you're going to get great value at that position later than you probably expected ever before.
40:22So, um, don't panic when you see some of the first quarterbacks come off the board, they're still going to be amazing guys later.
40:30Um, Jared Goff is going to be great. He's going to go late.
40:34Uh, Brock Purdy, Matthew Stafford, Kyler Murray, Jordan Love.
40:36Uh, if you still like Patrick Mahomes, he'll be there late.
40:40Like all these guys still have the opportunity to be really successful fantasy quarterbacks.
40:44So you don't have to reach for one early.
40:47That includes the top guys. So still don't like the fact that Josh Allen's going around to Detroit opens the season with
40:54new Orleans, which should have one of the worst secondaries in football at Buffalo.
40:58That should be a shootout. The jets they'll destroy at Carolina at Arizona might have the worst secondary in the NFL.
41:05Uh, so Detroit is a team that I've highlighted as having a very favorable early season schedule.
41:10We've been talking about it for months. They'd have a very favorable schedule just to begin with.
41:15All right. Just prepare yourself, Adam. Cause I tweeted about it today.
41:19Prepare for Jared golf to be ranked ahead of Drake may in less than a week.
41:24Wow. Wow. Wait a minute. in your rankings or in week one, week one rankings come out in like five days.
41:31Yeah. Right. Right. Right. No, I'm with you on that.
41:34I thought you were saying that you were going to take Drake may over golf over may.
41:39Yeah. Season rankings. I know the rankings are going to flip and all that season long stuff.
41:44We're not going to be talking about anymore. We're going to be looking at the rankings and it's going to be Jared golf over Drake may.
41:52Yeah. Golf's got really that schedule that you talked about, Adam.
41:56It's really there. Sharp football analysis has Detroit with the number one most favorable schedule.
42:00There's a five point per game difference in Jared golf's averages in Detroit when he's indoors versus outdoors, six outdoor games.
42:07We talked about that. Two of them come in week 17 and 18.
42:11There's really just a tremendous path for golf to have a monster year.
42:15Yeah. He's not a lot. He is the quarterback to wait for if you're going to wait on quarterback and everybody's saying to do that.
42:23He's the guy you need to wait for because he's the one that should be able to easily outperform ADP.
42:29I want to give I think we all know that from a six point per passing touchdown standpoint, but let me just
42:36look at Jared golf and where he's finished in four point per passing touchdown leagues in the last four seasons.
42:42Okay. So 2022, he was 14th per game 2023 14th per game.
42:462024, seventh per game 2025 11th per game 14, 14, seven and 11 per game for Jared golf in four point per
42:53passing touchdown leagues compared to 13, 12, eighth and ninth per game in six point per passing touchdown leagues.
42:59He's definitely better in six, but he throws for so many yards.
43:02That's a huge stat in four point leagues that he's still pretty good there.
43:07Maybe the worst defense he's had since his first year there.
43:10Agreed. And we're the second half of 2023 was pretty awful.
43:14Yeah. Second. And it's bad. The four were there are four lions being taken with top 75 picks and fantasy and two
43:20in round one, and they can all catch. Yeah.
43:23So, and, and listen, the pitch for whatever it's worth, Montgomery's gone.
43:27Pacheco's hurt. I don't think they're going to give Gibbs 20 plus carries a game.
43:32And so extending the run game with throws to Gibbs throws to Laporta St.
43:36Brown catches a ton of short balls to the numbers are going to add up for Jared golf.
43:42What's a, what are you learning about tight end?
43:44Dave? Call me Sir Mix-a-Lot because I like tight ends and I cannot lie.
43:49I think that the greater late strategy that you've termed for us is actually like the great part is actually deeper than it's ever been.
43:56And the late part is still really good. But you can make a top five case for eight tight ends this year.
44:03There's McBride and Bowers. Those are the two at the top of the list.
44:08We love Loveland. Warren, Tucker Craft, Sam Laporta. We love those guys too.
44:12You can still make that top five case for Isaiah Likely.
44:15And I know Heath can make it for Kyle Pitts.
44:18That's eight tight ends. It's three quarters of a month.
44:21Don't single me out for Kyle Pitts when you're going to act like Isaiah Likely is just an obvious case when Kyle Pitts finished top five last year.
44:30Come on. You know why Pitts finished top five last year.
44:33We have that amazing five-game stretch. And I still have him as a top ten tight end.
44:39And I like him better than Harold Fannin now.
44:42And then you look at the tight ends that you can find late.
44:46Kittle now qualifies, although his ADP is going to go up.
44:49Dallas Goddard, Dalton Kincaid, Mark Andrews, Juwan Johnson. Those guys at least can be streamers to begin the year.
44:55I don't think that there's truly a terrible way to go at tight end.
44:59You might want to choose one of those top two or three tight ends.
45:04But if you don't get them because someone else gets them before you do, it's really not the end of the world.
45:11You can still get a good value at a top five upside tight end.
45:15Even going into round seven or round eight. And if you even whiff on them, maybe you just like you want to
45:22load up on running backs or you take a quarterback at a steel value.
45:26You can still find one that you like later on.
45:29Really, I think this is the year where we can look at tight end and say, yeah, it's easy to draft them.
45:36And it's a lot of them. There's a lot of them.
45:39And the league is gravitating toward the position. A lot of teams are going to see them in 12 tight end sets
45:46and they're looking for tight ends that are athletic and match up problems.
45:50It's the whole basis of why Broward and McBride have been good for as few years as they've been.
45:56Loveland and Warren should be able to take a step forward.
46:00All right, so hold on. Before you praise everyone.
46:02Now, who do you avoid? Fannin is the one that makes the most sense to avoid and I still have him as a top 10 tight end.
46:11Kelsey is the other one that I'm avoiding. Jamie, who do you avoid at tight end?
46:16The only one really is Fannin. Heath? This is my, you know, I always keep my spreadsheet.
46:21So this is by far my most concentrated position.
46:24I have five Sam Laporta teams, three Kyle Pitts teams, two Bowers teams, two Loveland teams.
46:29Zero McBrides. Zero McBrides. I have some Dynasty McBrides.
46:32You like Loveland better than McBride. I do. I know that wasn't a shot at me, but yes, I know I traded you McBride in Dynasty.
46:40Whoops. Oh, I wasn't even thinking. It wasn't a shot at you.
46:44That was a good trade. I think I got both Trey McBride and Drake May for Malik Neighbors.
46:49There were other picks. It was not just that.
46:52And then I made a terrible trade myself to get rid of Drake May, and you made a terrible trade yourself to get rid of Malik Neighbors.
47:00That's not entirely false. All right. Some more news items for you here.
47:04And just another reminder about CBS Sports Network. If you can't get enough FFT every week for the rest of the season,
47:11we're going to be on CBS Sports Network Tuesday and Thursday at noon Eastern.
47:16Tuesday, waiver wire. Thursday, rankings. This Thursday will be more draft prep.
47:19But CBS Sports Network, watch us on TV. And then those end up on YouTube as well.
47:25YouTube.com slash fantasy football today. All right. Pittsburgh cornerback Joey Porter may not play early in the season.
47:30He's in a contract dispute. He also had an injury.
47:33But he seems pretty upset about his contract. He gets Atlanta and New England and Cincinnati in the first three weeks.
47:40So the Steelers have some tough wide receivers coming their way.
47:43Isaiah Pacheco is on IR with back and knee issues.
47:46And I look as much as I love Jameer Gibbs.
47:49I do like running backs that have clear handcuffs.
47:52I don't know that we have that here. So, Jamie, if you draft Jameer Gibbs, do you take another Lions running back?
47:59No. I think it's kind of a worse version of the 49ers.
48:03Like, we've got to see this play itself out and who's going to eventually be number two on the depth chart.
48:09I think the one thing that you could do, though, is like if you have an IR.
48:15So you drafted Zach Charbonnet, you drafted Jordan Tyson, maybe you drafted Isaiah Pacheco.
48:19You have an IR spot. Once your waivers run, if you want to wait until week one or we get a little
48:26bit more clarity on who the number two guy is going to be, then you could just put that player on the
48:33end of your bench, put that running back on the end of your bench.
48:37It doesn't have to be a Lions running back.
48:40It could be anybody. But that's a team you want to keep an eye on.
48:45You had the chance to do the funniest thing ever there, Adam.
48:48You came so close to doing it. You came so close.
48:52You said, I like to have a running back that has a clear handcuff.
48:56All you had to do was finish it with, should we move Jameer Gibbs below B.
49:01John Robbins since Isaiah Pacheco is on IR? It would have fit perfect with your auction comment.
49:06It would have been great. Yeah, no. Jacob Saylor's is maybe the next in line there in Detroit.
49:12I did draft Pacheco in the league yesterday. We'll obviously put him right on IR and pick someone else up.
49:18But I think, you know, let's say he's only misses four games and Jameer Gibbs doesn't get hurt in the first month of the season.
49:26Then you still may have his handcuff because he's clearly the most proven guy on the team after Gibbs.
49:32Keenan Allen is going to play in week one.
49:35Jamar Chase has a hyperextended knee. Tee Higgins has a bruised heel, but both are expected to be ready for week one.
49:41Saints running back Kendry Miller has a minor injury, but he's going to be fine.
49:46Tampa Bay GM Jason Light said rookie wide receiver Ted Hurst will play a role this season.
49:51We don't know what that means. Remember, Rebecca Buka and Jalen McMillan have both been dealing with injuries.
49:57Jacksonville guard Patrick McCurry is on IR and their offensive line might be a liability.
50:02And they have Cleveland, Denver, New England, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, and Houston in their first six games.
50:07No one seems scared. Chuba Hubbard practice. That's great news.
50:10Jonathan Brooks. I think, Dave, you said he worked off to the side yesterday.
50:14Jonathan Brooks. Ashton Gentry worked off to the side.
50:17OK, I thought before we went on that might have to I Brooks did work off the side.
50:23OK, thank you. I think it was deemed soreness.
50:25OK, Houston right tackle Braden Smith is on IR.
50:28So that's not a good offensive line. That's bad.
50:31Does that matter for Nico Collins? It could end up mattering for everybody in Houston.
50:36It's one of the reasons like the gap between what David Montgomery has been running behind and will be running behind continues to grow.
50:43And that's one of the reasons I wouldn't put him in that tier of running backs in round five.
50:49Well, when you say now, listen, you got all over me for not making the Gibbs thing.
50:54When you say the gap that David Montgomery is running through or sort and then you say continues to grow.
51:00It's a little confusing there because the actual gap is shrinking in terms of what he's running through.
51:06But the gap between what he used to be running through and now what he is running through, that is growing.
51:13That's what I said. Yeah, I know. But everyone's confused now, which is my fault.
51:17They were. They weren't. Green Bay wide receiver Savion Williams on IR with a high ankle sprain and some other players who did not practice on Tuesday.
51:26Ty Johnson, he's been out for a while. Bill's third down back might be ready for week one, might not be.
51:32Khalil Shakir, Carnell Tate, I don't think those are serious.
51:35Alvin Kamara did not practice. I don't know if you mentioned this yesterday or not, but Kyle Mononga is apparently not.
51:42Oh, I missed that. He's week to week. Yeah.
51:45He's week to week. Week to week. Yeah. I mean.
51:48So when you were talking about like Kyron, I put DeAndre Swift ahead of Kyron.
51:52What if Mononga is back in week two? I mean, he might, but, you know, Swift had a great camp.
51:59They might have to get a little bit of a ramp up period for Mononga.
52:03It's not like Swift is on a bad offense.
52:06So, you know, that factors into it. Like we're talking about two good players on two great offenses.
52:12So for me, it's it was just close to begin with.
52:15And I just made the switch. I think it's a great point.
52:19So Kyron, let's see if I have Kyron average 14.7 points per game in those last 11 games.
52:24Let's see if I have what Swift averaged. It wasn't as good Swift in his last 11 games averaged 13.9 points per game.
52:32I'm not exactly sure. He was on pace for only 230 carries, whereas Kyron was on pace for 254 carries and he had one more touchdown.
52:40They had about the same amount of catches. But you look at the split.
52:44I mean, it could easily be Swift better than Kyron.
52:47It wasn't like a huge difference. It was less than a fantasy point per game.
52:52Okay. Um, uh, all right. That's our news and notes.
52:55Tonight is our leftovers league draft in honor of our leftovers league draft.
52:59Mike Woolley gave us his top five leftovers. Pizza.
53:02Number one. Lomain. Number two. Meatloaf. Three. Ribs. Four.
53:05Pulled pork. Five. Pizza. Lomain. Meatloaf. Ribs. Pork. Top five leftovers.
53:08I think he's right on pizza. I don't know if he's right on anything else.
53:13The one thing I definitely think he's wrong about is ribs over pork.
53:17Pork. Pulled pork, um, reheats and is reusable in a variety of different ways.
53:21Sometimes I'll smoke a couple of pork butts and just have four different pork meals and ribs don't reheat very well unless
53:28you take a lot of time doing it and you pretty much just have ribs.
53:33That's pretty good. I like that. Lomain is an interesting choice.
53:36I never. I think you just go Chinese food in general.
53:39It's the Chinese food is the worst, Jamie. Like you can't read.
53:43Cause your whole rice. Yeah. You know, no, I mean, sesame fried rice is fantastic.
53:48Reheated every, everything. Okay. If you just do fried rice, that's fine.
53:52If you do rice and a meat, you have so much fried rice.
53:56No, no. But like, uh, like a meat dish, like sesame chicken and rice, they heat up at such different levels.
54:02Imagine if you could just separate them. Like what a world.
54:06Who would do that? It's insane. Sesame chicken, by the way, is like my favorite Chinese food dish and it's horrible.
54:12Reheated horrible. I missed, I missed who said it, but, uh, spaghetti being disrespected is absolutely correct.
54:17I don't know if it's top five. I mean, all right.
54:21Um, early season schedules. Let's take a look here.
54:24There you go. Good job, Munzo. Take a look at the, all right.
54:28So a couple of DSTs, the chargers start with the Cardinals and Raiders.
54:32And by the way, to answer gamer Eric's question, no, it is not my leftover leagues.
54:37It's, uh, Adam ripping off the name that I use for the last three years.
54:41It actually not. It's worse than that. He changed the name of the league.
54:46It's the for the people league. I was forced to because it was disrespectful to call our listeners leftovers that didn't get into the podcast league.
54:54It was forced to, it was thrust upon me.
54:57I didn't want to change it. I'll change it back next year.
55:00Chargers DST has Arizona and Las Vegas to start Raiders DST or sorry.
55:04Jaguars DST has the Browns in week one. A lot of people are drafting them schedules tough after that.
55:10So you might drop them, but if you want a week one DST, the Jaguars, um, schedules, I like, I mean, I
55:17like Baltimore schedule early Colts in week one, whatever.
55:20Then saints at the Cowboys, Tennessee at Atlanta. What we love Detroit talked about green Bay after Minnesota in week one.
55:26It's pretty good. Um, the Houston offense. I like it because they could be in some shootouts here, which is probably not
55:33the case because there's Houston's defense, but Houston's got Buffalo Cincinnati at the Colts and Dallas in their first four games.
55:40I don't think that's favorable. It might lead to high scoring games, but those aren't pushover defenses, but none of them are great.
55:47None of them should be a lot better. But none of them are great defenses and you do have great offenses there.
55:54Right. Have we reached the teams that play average defenses portion of the segment?
55:58This was not a defenses thing. This was an offenses thing.
56:02They play, you know, they play four very high scoring offenses from last year, Buffalo, Cincinnati Colts and Cowboys.
56:08I think that's good. It is good, but you're also talking about one of the best defenses on their side of the field.
56:15That's going to make things uncomfortable for the other team to score points.
56:19So I don't know if that's necessarily the way you want to go about it saying shootout.
56:24Yeah, but I also see three defenses with awesome interior defensive linemen that are going to make things really hard on that interior offensive line for Houston.
56:32Throw Tennessee in there too. They've got Jeffrey Simmons.
56:35But yeah, okay. Fine. So you want to talk about Montgomery, but if you have Nico Collins, wouldn't you rather them be
56:42playing the Bills, Bengals, Colts and Cowboys than the Titans, Jets, Dolphins and, you know, some other crappy offense?
56:48I mean, I want Nico Collins. You couldn't care less?
56:51You wouldn't? If we were previewing games that you wouldn't, you wouldn't think about game script and CJ Stroud having to throw?
56:58I think I would guess, and we can look because they probably play both these teams.
57:03I would guess the Texans will have a higher projected point total against the Dolphins and Titans than they do against the Bills.
57:10Okay. I don't know if they play the Dolphins.
57:13Maybe later in the year. The Chargers start with the Cardinals, Raiders.
57:17That's pretty good. Then it gets kind of tough after that.
57:20Well, I don't know about Buffalo. Buffalo, what do you think?
57:23Average defense for Buffalo? Yeah, sure. Middle of the pack.
57:27Minnesota, I have them as not an amazing schedule overall, but they could get off to a good start, which I think
57:33is, you know, like I want to see Kyler get off to a good start, get some good vibes going.
57:40Green Bay, their secondary apparently not very good. At Chicago, at Tampa Bay, Miami, at New Orleans.
57:45You've got some very favorable secondaries that Minnesota. What's that?
57:48That's beautiful. I think the thing you, for me at least, I always want to look for is really just early season
57:55schedule because so many things change throughout the course of the season, injuries, et cetera, both sides of the ball.
58:01But I mean, if you can get off to a good start because you like the schedule and that's just something that you're deciding between.
58:09It's a tiebreaker. Yeah. But I wouldn't look at necessarily the whole picture of it.
58:14I would just look at the first four games.
58:16Yeah. I mean, look, first four is kind of what I focused on.
58:20If I felt like it was good or bad immediately after that, I'll mention it.
58:25Giants, for example. Giants are at the Rams in week two.
58:28That sucks. But Dallas week one is not a matchup to run.
58:32They'll be better. They'll be better. But again, we're not running away from it.
58:37Dallas at the Rams, Tennessee, Arizona at Washington, New Orleans.
58:40That's weeks three through six for the Giants. That's good.
58:43That's good. The Jets at Tennessee, Green Bay at Detroit at Chicago.
58:46That's a good start for the Jets. Yes. I love the Eagle schedule, Dave.
58:51I don't know how you feel about that. But obviously they get Washington twice.
58:55Right. They get the Giants once. They get the Cowboys twice.
58:59Tennessee, Chicago early in the season. No, it's good.
59:01Yeah. I like the Eagles. Yeah. All right. So who's got bad schedules and does this matter?
59:07I mentioned Emeka Abuka's schedule yesterday. He faces some shutdown corners if he plays week one at Cincinnati.
59:12I don't know about Cleveland. They almost never used to move Denzel Ward around.
59:17They have a new defensive coordinator now. But Cleveland week two.
59:20The pressure is not going to be as tough.
59:23So. Absolutely. Right. Minnesota week three. That's Emeka Abuka's start.
59:26Um, this one is from Yahoo. I saw Yahoo tweet this.
59:29So Yahoo Sports. I think that you could argue that Brian Thomas Jr.
59:33Has the worst schedule of any player to start the season.
59:37I mean, it's Cleveland at Denver, New England at Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Houston, then a buy and the Colts, then the Ravens.
59:43A lot of shutdown corners. A lot of number one corners in that slate.
59:48I'll read it again. Brian Thomas Jr. Cleveland at Denver, New England at Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Houston, buy week, Colts, Ravens.
59:54You know who it's really good for though. Yeah.
59:57Because if that number one corner is going to follow Brian Thomas Jr.
60:01down the field, then Parker Washington is going to have all kinds of space underneath.
60:06Uh, the outside. A lot of those teams do not have good number two corners.
60:10Uh, that outside, the outside receivers for Tennessee might have it tough early.
60:14No, that's because Cam Ward's their quarterback. I mean, the Jets and the Giants in weeks one and three shouldn't be bad,
60:21but Eagles, Ravens, Texans, Colts, Browns, Bengals. Um, and then I have, I put a sorta on this one with Terry McLaurin at the Eagles.
60:29Tough at Dallas. Probably not tough. Seattle. Tough Colts.
60:32If softs Gardner covers him, that's three of the first four games.
60:35That's probably well later in the year, they get the Eagles, Rams, Bengals, Houston, Atlanta, Minnesota, Jacksonville.
60:41Those teams have good cornerbacks. That's really late in the year.
60:44So you don't know, but that's McLaurin. Um, and then I think you look at the bills, right?
60:50You look at James cook. You look at DJ more.
60:53I looked at cook and how he did in tough matchups last year, and there were some good games.
60:59There were some bad games, but they start at Houston, Detroit, Detroit should, I think could have a good run defense.
61:05They usually do when a Lee McNeil is healthy chargers Patriots at the Rams.
61:10That's a tough start. And I think, I don't know.
61:13I think you could make the case. I don't want to start.
61:16I don't want to have DJ more and Brian Thomas jr.
61:20On my team. Just because, right. I mean, you could make that case.
61:24I think Kansas city's got, uh, some tough games early, some easy games early too, but Denver Colts, Miami Raiders.
61:30That's great. Then a buy. Then the chargers Seahawks and Broncos and, uh, new England.
61:35I don't know if you, how you feel if this matters for AJ Brown, but he starts with, uh, I actually was
61:42thinking about the running backs for new England, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Jacksonville to start the year.
61:46That's not easy. So those aren't like my most, I think my biggest takeaways are, are Brian Thomas jr.
61:52Maybe DJ more and James cook. I'm not effect.
61:55That doesn't affect me much there. Um, the Eagles having a good schedule.
61:59I think the, I've been pretty low on the giants, but they've got a pretty good schedule to start the year Detroit all year long.
62:07That's probably it. Good. Anybody. And again, it's just, this is just tiebreaker stuff.
62:11Yeah. Maybe in the case of the lions, you could say, all right, their schedule looks so good.
62:17And so many indoor games, you can buy into them a little bit more.
62:21I don't know how much more you can buy into Gibbs and St.
62:25Brown. Yeah. But for everybody else, like when you're, when you're comparing Jordan Addison's ADP is criminal right now.
62:31It's like round nine, 10. So compare him to let's just see who's going around and maybe some of the Steelers running back Steelers receivers.
62:39Excuse me. Um, I, you might favor Addison over the Steelers receivers.
62:43You might favor Addison over, I mean, Wondell Robinson as a higher ADP.
62:47That's an easy one. Um, Alec Pierce or Jordan Addison.
62:50Do give Addison the nod because favorable schedule early on healthier than Al Pierce.
62:54We're not even sure Alec Pierce is going to play week one.
62:58Those are the types of situations where I think early season schedule can be a tiebreaker that can help you on draft day.
63:05Okay. Well, thanks for watching and listening, everybody. Hope this was helpful stuff.
